Wish spoilers ahead.

The start of Wish is exactly like that of Encanto but without all the heart. It is literally the meme of "Can I copy your homework?" "Yeah but change a few things so it is not too obvious."

Also Asha deserved a pretty dress in the end like wth are you going to sell to little girls Disney you are all about money and you failed miserably even at that.

And it is for real soooo unfair how the queen did get a pretty dress the whole movie and Asha only got some lazy ass sparkles added to her boring ass dress.

Asha... not bad, ok, but she is copy paste Anna, Mirabel, and Rapunzel. Youtuber ModernGurlz is right about Disney's "adorkable" problem. All their main girls since Rapunzel have the same "quirky" personality save a few details. I have liked them all but it is getting boring. Give me a princess with a monotone, sad personality, give me a shy princess who only smiles and talks around close friends, give me back the classic super girly personality Aurora and Snow White style, give me an angry girl with a brutal sense of humor like Merida. Be creative, please!!!

I love the queen's design, super gorgeous. Too bad her character added nothing. Her help was barely needed since Asha's friend had already sneaked them into the castle and it was her who deciphered the king's magic. A super villain couple would have been way more fun.

Oh, yeah, Asha's friends. There were so-damn-many of them and only like 3 were rememberable or needed for the story.

The villain is a complicated issue. I appreciated Disney's attempt at another fully evil character, I liked how he wasn't yet another badly set up "twist villain" revealed only at the end. But I didn't like the end result that much.

His backstory was super underdeveloped and to "get" his motives better, if they really wanted to make him evil-yet-complex, they should have shown us a flashback of him losing his family Encanto style (They copy pasted the start might as well do the same with the antagonist backstory.

What the hell was the missing piece of tapestry for if it wasn't going to have any significance later on? Did the writers just forget or what even?

Worst part for me: The stakes were low as fuck. Disney doesn't respect its target audience, nowadays it thinks that children can't handle anything worse than a main character getting disappointed. The worst this "super evil" villain does is make people sad temporarily, for like two minutes (Kid you not), like one character stays sad for longer but MOST people in the kingdom seem happy and normal after giving up their wishes, he legit just makes people sad a few minutes (Again, I kid you not, no one dies, the wishes he "eats" to make himself stronger come back, nothing he does has a permanent, devastating effect, he is not even revealed to have killed Asha's father in a dramatic way or something). Yeah he makes people forget their wishes which is pretty sketchy but up to that point he seemed to have complex reasons for that, reasons that seem to disappear or have never even been there the second half of the movie when he magically becomes more evil due to a forbidden green spooky magic he uses, and then suddenly he becomes Maleficent (The cool, perfect villain version, not the woobie one) style evil in a very, very rushed and over the top way. I feel like he should have started up as fully evil with no backstory (Just a simple, Gaston or original Maleficent style, self centered guy, who wants more and more power and adoration), and simply gotten worse and stronger OR given more complexity as to why he became that way, but instead we got this weird thing in between where it is clear he just wants power and love from the people for the sake of it and yet he has this half-made sob story on how his family died.

There was a great lack of originality in this movie at the climax as well. Anyone watched "The little mermaid II"? That was pretty much it. Villain gets power boner, says he will enslave everyone (Worst thing he does in whole movie and yet no one trying to defy him dies at least off screen or gets hurt in any meaningful way). Then heroine saves the day.

The funniest part of this movie is that the villain's fate is worse than anything he ever did in the movie I swear. He gets trapped in a freaking mirror and then locked up in a cell (Similar to the Little mermaid II villain's end too lol). That is straight up torture till death, it is so fucked up. And his wife who literally sees how the green spooky magic is the main thing responsible for his bad day (If we are being honest that is all it was, other than the taking wishes part he seemed to be a good king) leaves him to rot and becomes queen Catherine II style, it is hilarious. Like girl, you turned against your husband like five minutes ago because apparently through decades of seemingly loving marriage, you never knew he was evil but now somehow you are ok with him rotting in solitary confinement till the end of time? So dorky and silly. So bad, so bad.

Lastly, that goat was annoying as hell.

the four chimes verse is essentially an amalgamation of my want—need—for badass max, max angst, elumax angst, just general party and co angst, apocalypse four shenanigans, several unexplored character interactions and dynamics, the four horsemen of the apocalypse concept, and everything else that comes with this plus things i wasnt able to mention its very self indulgent ngl

but yes, it's about the apocalypse four (max, patrick, fred, and chrissy) and how they get turned into the upside down four horsemen of the apocalypse aka the four chimes of catastrophe by vecna, and they become his way of furthering chaos and destruction in hawkins, while also using them to get rid of his thorns aka the party and co

nobody's having a fun time lol

i've already got a lot of it planned out, i just need to write it lmao asufhaishdf

its funny because this all started when finn sent an ask to his friend about how the four victims of vecna are paralleled to the four horsemen of the apocalypse

so robin is very feral yes AHSIFUHASf

im pretty sure i explained it a bit before but robin got hit by an arrow that was meant for nancy in the ciquest au, and because of nancy, she's able to find the will to fight back against the infection instead of succumbing to it, making it her own

One and the chimes sees how she's evolving and don't like it, so lence's suggestion of getting nancy takes priority, and so it happens

nance becomes quest and now the battle is on

robin is obviously devastated and the gang is slightly in shambles because of how much nancy brings to the table, and now she's gone—no, worse, she's being used for the other side

so robin steps up to the plate in multiple ways, trying her best to fill the void nancy was forced to leave behind

the burden on her is so heavy considering she got a power she technically never expected to have nor wanted, but now it's on her to make the most use of it

she usually questions why it was her who was in this situation and literally not anybody else who she thinks could definitely do better

lots of questions and wondering for her

now, unlike with renegade, she doesn't lose herself technically, but she gets close, like a lot

though should i mention that there was a little kidnapping that happened? the person who was kidnapped in question being someone who is very important to robin and may have caused a some strain and conflict for her and the chimes?

yeah, the chimes kidnapped steve to lure robin to them so that they can take her down

it was conquest's idea :)

lots of things happen and as said, robin was very much close to losing it so many times but she doesn't for a couple of reasons

renegade is a completely new take and direction of ciquest and just four chimes in general, and im so interested in seeing where it goes, so very interested <333

so the chimes. in our 68600 messages (as of the moment) of a four chimes dump, we've built up the characters and personalities of the chimes, and somewhere in this thread is the scattered information on them

now, i unfortunately dont have the time and patience to go through the thread to find all of the little information, but we'll do our best to give a good rundown of their characters

famine

wields throwing knives

very loyal to One (meaning he gaslit her so much for that loyalty to come to be, a consequence of being his first chime)

wants to be the leader because she thinks (and is gaslit to think) that she deserves it (One really likes to cause discord between his chimes)

having no prior connection to the main gang—or thorns as they call the gang—besides eddie who is dead and a spectre here, so she's the one who has the least moments of "remembering their past life" before

is very brutal and ruthless and likely the one the gang got the most injuries from in a general sense

death

wields a large scythe

my secret blorb

most likely to actually defy One, and fun fact, he has an au called the runaway au where he, a chime in the middle of the battle between the upside down and right side up, got to run and escape from One before certain things happened, which then causes a chain reaction in this au ofc

he's a coward, and this plays a lot into his actions and interactions

technically had a connection with nancy in the gang, but with conquest here, it gets harder for him to connect, but robin actually steps up to the plate here

war

wields a sword

is the most balanced out of everyone when looking at his loyalty and his defiance to One, in the middle of the pack in that sense

his past life of abuse shows up a lot when it comes to One, so he tends to throw others under the bus to not get caught in the crossfire (not that he wants to do this, but he also doesnt want to gain One's ire)

just generally very chill, the most chill out of every one here

is the medic of the team because of how he's the personification of war

has a connection with lucas in the gang, so that's something that gets him to "remember" some stuff in a way

pestilence

wields bow and arrows

if you can only see the rambles we have on her…it will take days to get through

will take the bullet for the other chimes when it comes to One's ire

same case as lence, but even more so considering she's been there since the start of it all (does her best to take most of lence's punishments as her own when One goes after them)

gets very hyperfocused with robin (vaguely aware the thorn makes her weak in some sense but quest doesn't care), but is frustrated she cant hurt her too much because lence will get hurt too (and maybe another reason deep down, but she doesnt acknowledge it)

they're all dog coded

One can summon them/call them whenever and its shown through the shivering cold in their necks, like what happens with will

One wants them to be just the way he wants them, meaning the way they died and got transformed into chimes must be how they are no matter what (this includes clothes, hair, weapons, and everything in general)

the only new addition he accepts them to have are new scars :')

the chimes have such a complicated relationship, but at the end of the day, post-vec, they love each other

note for them individually: there's a lot more that i want to add but my brain is blanking a little and i am probably forgetting some things, but here are some of the important things to note (remember this is incomplete to everything we wanna add ASFHUIASFh)

some relationship notes (by pairs, groups are another story)

min clashes with death when it comes to lence, but otherwise are fine with each other, neutral in general but are connected as the first two chimes of One

min and war are not quite friends, more distant than friends but closer than allies… (very interesting when you note how they were in their Before)

has a very one-sided antagonistic rivalry with lence, especially when it comes to the leadership position (this changes a bit when quest is in play as she's the leader, but there's still the rivalry with lence despite not being leader in ciquest/conquest), will be very callous in a way with her, but they actually work well together, especially as the similar twin concepts of famine and pestilence

quest is able to take min's bitterness mostly in a stride and keeps her in check from being too antagonistic when it comes to leadership roles and just generally (helps because quest understands them in a way, though she doesnt understand why she does)

death and war are more or less chill with each other, most cordial relationship out of every single chime relationship and the least tension filled, just vibing so real (though war knows death is a coward and death knows that war knows it)

death and lence are surprisingly close, only second to quest for lence (and death too technically, which is inspired by their Before), this relationship is due to the fact that in canon, max got to see and technically interact with chrissy, patrick, and nancy, but never with fred, so we saw it and ran with it and now they're close here

death and quest are more or less okay with each other, and their Before helped them understand each other better, unlike the other chimes' Before affecting their relationships in another way

war and lence are complicated, since war throws lence under the bus the most (especially in og) to avoid One's ire, and lence understands why, because of her own Before (and it doesnt help that she takes bullets for the other chimes), but they're both fine more or less

war and quest are similar to min and lence with the similar concepts, war and conquest, fire and lava, war follows quest to the T (just like he does with lence in og but more so here with quest), and they work well together because of their similar concepts

lence and quest are the closest out of everyone, helped by their Before and their instincts with each other, confides with each other a lot and are just helping each other no matter what, tho ofc this comes with the consequence of One seeing this "weakness" of theirs and using this bond between them to punish them when he sees fit

although here's a note about this too: finn said "honestly tho their relationships r So complicated its hard to capture in a few sentences", and i agree, what you just read is just some general thoughts on their relationships, but god is there so much more to them all, and if we want to really show you the relationships in full, we would have to ramble it all out ASHUFIUASHF but yeah

Camilo and Chickpea

Camilo was doing his usual routine of pranking villagers and just having a fun time with his friends. After he was done, he decided to head home for lunch and relax a bit. Unbeknownst to him, a small little yellow thing was following him.

It took about five chirps before he stopped…and looked around.

“What is that noise?”

Chirp!

He looked down, and that’s when he saw a little chick sitting on top of his foot like it owned it. Milo tilted his head at the little yellow puffball and looked around, seemingly looking for where this little thing came from.

It was from one of the Chicken farms, that much he knew. But HOW did it end up from the other side of the Encanto…to on top of his foot? Without being seen by cats or being stepped on?

So, he picked the little fella up and contemplated what he should do. Should he take it to a farm where this little guy could be used for food or to lay more eggs once it’s older?...or keep it as a pet?

Camilo decided to go with the latter and walked back inside with his new friend. And besides, if Antonio can keep a jaguar then camilo can surely keep a chicken, right?

Once inside he saw his little brother and prima mira sitting on the floor coloring.

“Hey, look at what followed me home”

Cami sat down in front of them and released the yellow feather baby. Antonio ‘awed’ and picked the little chick up. Mirabel was just confused as to why camilo had a chick on him.

“Um…why do you have a chick?”

“It followed me”

“.....a chick…followed YOU home?”

“Mirabel, I'm not just going to take a chick from its mother. Don’t you think that’s a little cruel?”

“Well I’m finding it hard to believe a literal baby chick followed you home on its own accord”

Antonio chimed in to the conversation “she said she left her nest to see what was beyond that weird barrier that only the big weird looking chickens can go through. After that she got lost and scared and decided to follow that big chicken. I think she means Milo”

“I’m sorry, does she think humans are just…bigger, odd looking chickens?”

“Yeah, all chickens do”

“...Oh”

The chick peeped some more and Antonio leaned down to hear her. “Oh, she says she likes Cami as her mama more. She doesn’t really remember her old one anyway or which nest she came from”

Cue camilo who looks really emotional “she sees me as her mama?”

Cue Mirabel rolling her eyes “oh hear we go”

After that day, Camilo kept the little chick and named her Chickpea (right on the nose aint it?). All family members find it hilarious and ironic that the shapeshifting chameleon boy has a chicken for a pet.

Pepa and Felix see Chickpea as their unconventional nieta. They can’t do much given her…chicken-ness but they like to have her around when Camilo is out. Both of them keep her on their shoulders or in their pockets.

Casita decided to be funny and mark Alma’s door “Bisabuela”. She didn’t understand what it meant until she saw Chickpea and was told the situation.

Mirabel knitted “father of an animal club” on his rauna. It was originally a club of one, which was just Bruno and his rats but now there’s a new member. Camilo wears it proudly. She also stitched a pocket to the front of it just in case he wanted to carry her around.

Mira also likes knitting little hats for Chickpea, it’s tedious to make something for a creature so small but she’s up for the challenge.

Dolores takes her role as the honorary Tia very seriously. Same with Antonio. He pledged to be the very best influence on her.

Luisa and Isabela love her too, although only one of them is trying to be a good influence and it’s not Luisa. Isa likes snatching Chickpea whenever she can and sprinkles her with pollen to make her look “cool”.

“Isabela! She’s MY daughter, not yours”

“I don’t care”

Alma and the blue couple don’t know what to think of the new family member other than she’s cute. And Alma hopes Camilo won’t get bored or tired of the new responsibility because from what she knew, chicks need care like every other pet in this world.

He never got tired of her though and always made sure she was okay.

Luisa absolutely loves her. Will have her sit on her lap while she reads or just talk to her.

(teenage and adult years)

Chickpea is very spoiled and very much a diva (thanks to her “mama”). And used to having her needs met instantly. If they aren’t, she irritatingly bawks like no tomorrow. Not too loud, she knows Dolores has sensitive hearing, but she does it loud enough to the point where it’s annoying enough to get what she wants. And if that doesn’t work, she pecks you.

Chickpea also has her own collection of hats and necklaces thanks to her Tia Mirabel, Tio Antonio, and her “mama”.

She is very sweet though and knows when someone is upset and needs a cuddle. She’ll cuddle just about anyone if it makes them happy, especially Camilo.

She certainly IS potty trained and knows exactly where to go when she needs to go (if you catch my drift).

Camilo does include her in on his pranks (thanks to Antonio explaining the concept to her). She’s just as mischievous as her mama and loves chasing people around because it’s funny to her. Seeing creatures much bigger than you run away when you are chasing them is a hilarious thing to see.

She is also in Bruno’s rat telenovelas as the leading actress. She won’t have it any other way…and yes, she’s just as dramatic as her mother.

The 27th of another month. 74 months after my favorite cartoon show was canceled. Ordinarily, Trending 27th would be happening, but it’s been downplayed as of late. However, there is something that’s resonated with me since SaveWOY’s heyday, long before we heard about Kid Cosmic and its being made at Netflix.

I’m not sure what happened, but a fan video by fluffy-raccoon-artist (formerly cerise-the-traveling-artist) called “SaveWOY: The Story So Far” is gone. It came out on March 31, 2017, and I think it’s been absent for the past 2 years or so. Fortunately, I have much of the dialogue memorized. I also remember the fellow who voiced Wander tried the best he could to channel Jack McBrayer accent-wise. If you see the name Cerise, that’s the artist herself depicted as her ‘WOY-sona.’ A real world person as a non-canon character, if you will.

Cerise: (to a cat onscreen) Oh, Biscuit! Shoo! Get out of the frame!

Wander: Wasn’t that a little mean? I mean, he wasn’t bothering anyone.

Cerise: Yeah, I know, but he’d still distract you.

Wander: Well, hi there, you fine internet goers! Folks call me Wander, and I’m ever so thrilled that you clicked on this here video! Why? Well, lemme tell ya! I just so happen to come from this cute little cartoon show called Wander Over Yonder, which just so happens to be one of the many WONDERFUL creations of… Drumroll, please.

Cerise: Oh! Oh, oh, right, right.

Wander: … Craig McCracken! The very same mastermind behind such classics as The Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. And believe it or not, while he was working on those two amazing shows, he was also doodling little ol’ me in his sketchbook, buuhhhht that’s not what this video is about. It’s about the show and just how great of a show it is. Okay, so this show is about me and my best pal Sylvia, traveling the universe and helping folks, with the occasional saving of an entire planet or a space worm trying to eat us, all while being chased by the fierce Lord Hater and his army of Watchdogs. You see, Hater’s the villain of the peace, but in reality, he’s just a big softy who just really wants attention.

Lord Hater: No I’m NOT!

Wander: Did I mention the music and the animation? Because it’s simply… AMAZING! Not to mention that this little show won three Annie Awards.

Cerise: And Weird Al plays a character in Season 2. He even gets a song.

Wander: The songs! Oh, how could I forget? Yes! This show has so many lovely songs! We even got an entire musical episode! This show has so many amazing things and so much potential! Too bad that… Disney canceled it. Yes, as sad as it is, Disney felt that two seasons were enough for our little show, much to the crew’s disagreement. They had a whole third season planned out, and it would’ve wrapped everything up in a perfect little bow. Of course, Craig and his hard-working crew tried their hardest to convince Disney to let them have a third season, but alas, it was no use. Now you all might be thinking, “Why are you telling us this?” “How can we help?” Well, I am so happy to say that the answer will be in the next video. Or if you’re impatient, in the description of THIS very video. Well, that was all for now. I hope to see you fine folks again real soon.* Bye!

*I’m not sure if this is how the line went, but just bear with me.

This “answer,” of course, turned out to be sending letters to Disney during the holidays in 2018. I must have sent roughly 8 total during that time.

If there’s a song that pretty much sums up how much I wish for WOY to be given the same amount of fairness given to the DTVA shows that got way too much love and/or more than two seasons, it’s “Waiting on a Miracle,” sung by Mirabel (Stephanie Beatriz) in Encanto. I immediately thought thought of everything SaveWOY has been trying to do when I first experienced the song and got a grasp of Mirabel’s longing to have a special gift since she’s a descendant of the Family Madrigal.

I realize the video might be a little dated, but the message is still clear. WOY is still incomplete, and it could surely be just as influential as most of DTVA’s overappreciated shows if Disney’s current bosses give it a chance.

While we’re on the subject, I have watched Seasons 1 and 2 for the 8th time on Disney+ on my one-season-per-month run. As glad as I was that WOY got a second season, I still don’t think two seasons are enough for the show. Any true fan would be quick to realize Fish Hooks, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Amphibia, and any other 11-22-minute episode show that got more than two seasons have more episodes than WOY does. Heck, I’m pretty sure the people who worked on those more fortunate shows never had to try their hardest to convince Disney to let the shows have their third season. At this point, I’d still settle for a PDF attachment of the plans for Season 3 even if it means ruling out “movement, music, and McBrayer” among other things. We fans must keep support for the show alive regardless of Craig’s current status with Cartoon Network.

That being said, I’ll be taking a little break from watching WOY - I have started taking an online master’s program in art and technology, so I’ll need to focus for the next few months. If any of you fans out there have Hulu and/or Disney+ and a whole lot of time on your hands, give the show tons of viewership. Maybe in time, you’ll come up with theories about S3, uncover more clues online, and create your own interpretation of Star Force Enforcement Force, like I did.

Alrightyyyyyy Post-Episode Ms. Marvel Thoughts!

Spoilers under the cut! I wanna do these again, I did them a lot for TFATWS haha

I love this show. I'll be honest the power change is kinda a big thing for me, but its a different universe and me shouting into the void about it isn't going to change anything, but so far I like what they're doing with it! They found a way to connect her culture with her powers and it's really fascinating to see it!

I wasn't joking when I said that Marvel should've put a TW for immigrant parenting though, a lot of that hit hard. I remember having to set up my case before asking my parents to even stay after school for a bit and even twisting some truths to make it favorable to them. There was one time me and my friends wanted to go get slushies and I basically had to tell my parents a week ahead of time and tell them it was a study session. And, good gosh, I absolutely felt it when Kamala failed her driver's test and her mom just rambled off on things in that tone of voice it literally set off a response in me because like "damn I know I did bad but you don't need to rub it in like that."

But the line that really got me?

"We trust you. We don't trust anyone else."

Now that triggered me, because that is the exact sentence that my parents always told me when I asked them to go places. I kid you not, I literally had to go with my dad to Anime Expo, of all the cons, because they didn't trust me to go with my friends and I was literally a junior in high school when that happened too! Genuinely, I relate to Kamala so much. And I mad respect her because she's got guts to pull that off, I immediately fold when my parents say 'no.'

That's another thing, so many people are villanizing Kamala's mom, and while I understand why, I don't agree with it. I'll never understand why people will always search for a villain (key cases being Encanto and Turning Red) in characters that are too complex and rounded to just be one? Obviously I don't mean this in a way to defend her because I also don't agree with how she speaks to Kamala, but at the same time my mom is the exact same way. The actions come out of love, could they be expressed better? Yeah, of course. But at the same time seeing people flat out villanize her gives me the ick, you know? There is a balance that is not agreeing with your parents but also loving them so much that it overcomes that, and that's how I see Kamala's relationship with her mom, and that's proven in the scene with Bruno where she expresses how hurt she felt when she realized she really hurt her parents'. It's nuanced, guys, like I said earlier, the girls who get it get it and the girls who don't don't.

Now aside from the heavy parts, god I loved the fun parts. Scott has a podcast? Not the thing we wanted, but the thing we needed. The animation? Top notch! It makes the show so vibrant and it's such a change from Moon Knight that to me its refreshing! What I'm really enjoying is the fact that these high school kids are going through high school problems. College apps, socializing, going to cons, ugh, it's so nice to see.

Oh gosh, Avengerscon, oh gosh. It's weird to think about it with the context we know of the Avengers also considering some of them are still probably deemed war criminals and here they are at a convention and if that isn't the most fan convention shit idk what is AHAHAHA but gosh it looked so fun to be a part of, I hope for D23 Marvel hops on that concept and has an Avengerscon section cuz that would be super popular!

Also I'd die for Bruno.

Overall, I'm liking the pacing so far!! It was a great first episode and I can't wait for the next one!

It would probably make sense for McCoy to have realized his feelings for Spock first since he’s more experienced and thus could probably recognize/act upon his feelings more readily… but for some reason I really like the idea of Spock falling for McCoy first. Just the thought of him having this crush on such an illlgical, easily provoked, volitile human that defies all logic and him having no idea how to deal with it but can’t really find it in him to fully supress it (and boy does he try) is both freakin’ hilarious and freakin’ adorable in my mind.

Well it’s Valentine’s Day everybody! Which means it’s time for another list! I ran out of ideas for Disney-inspired lists, I’m not ready to update the Top 10 Pairings list, and… let’s face it TOS has controlled my life for over a year so me doing a Spones list was the only thing that made any sense. So I decided to go ahead and list my Top 5 Favorite Spones episodes. Hope you all enjoy~!

#5. The Empath

Yep, we gotta start with the ‘McCoy knocks his friends out to sacrifice himself to be tortured’ episode. But can you blame me? There’s not too much to say about the first half, but the second half? Ho boy. We have Spock and McCoy wanting to sacrifice themselves so that the other won’t have to. That alone is just… damn. Then Spock tries to use McCoy knocking Kirk out to make himself the sacrificial lamb, with McCoy knocking him out to make sure that didn’t happen without any hesitation whatsoever. He just accepts his death so that Spock and Kirk will survive. It makes sense. Spock may not die, but the probability is he’ll be heavily brain damaged and that in itself is just as bad if not worst than death especially for a Vulcan. Of course, McCoy wasn’t going to let that happen. It shows a scary lack of self-concern, but I consider it the best McCoy Episode for a reason. Then Spock doesn’t at all argue with using the Vian device to teleport to him and… yeah. This is arguably the closest time we see a main character near death in the show (until Wrath of Khan of course) and it’s a beautiful yet heart-wrenching moment. Spock tries to keep it together but it’s clear that he’s having as hard of a time as Kirk is processing it and barely holding the emotions back. Lovely acting from Leonard Nimoy. And especially the moment where McCoy starts coughing, Spock trying to hold and comfort him at the same time, just holding him in the most gentle way imaginable, McCoy’s line about ‘good bedside manor’, and Spock looking about as on the verge of crying as a Vulcan could be and it shows just how much these two cared about each other. The reason that this is Number 5 is that in the end, I consider this a Triumvirate episode and this emphasizes and love and care between all three of them so beautifully. Spones certainly has some strong moments, but I don’t think it was particularly in focus enough to justify ranking it any higher compared to my other four picks. But it still deserves a spot on this list, so here it is~!

I was thinking about Operation: Annahilate and how McCoy made an arguably rash medical decision that he didn’t want to do that ended up blinding Spock (except not) after Spock and Kirk wanted him to and to end Spock’s pain. A decision yhat ended up being unecessary as he woukd have found out had he and the other two waited just a little longer. Thus he felt utterly awful about it to the point of being more or less unresponsive and that alone is just sad to watch…

…and then you realize that that wasn’t the first time he made an arguably rash medical decision despite not wanting to because a patient wanted him to end the pain that he found out was ultimately unecessary. Except instead of blinding someone and it turning out they were fine cause of Vulcan biology, his own father died from a terminal illness and it turned out he could have possibly been cured had McCoy just gotten him to wait just a little longer. If he had gotten himself to wait just a little longer.

some thoughts about the encanto “fandom” more specifically to non pocs.

it’s very clear who it yt and who is poc when it comes to hcs and thats what makes some hcs frustrating. some hcs treat the things characters a seen doing as “not normal” things when its actually just common things we do in our culture.

A lot of the actions Bruno does (i.e knocking on wood) is because of his superstitions, and it’s normal for him to do this a lot because latino people take superstitions very seriously (I would know. Im half Mexican and watched my Mexican father be extremely superstitious for 9 years) Bruno throwing the salt and sugar is also a common thing? i’ve done the salt thing many times lol. and when he was jumping over the cracks he was saying a healing spell at the same time. all he’s ever heard from people is that he brings back luck so of course he is going to do things that “ward off” bad luck.

Camilo’s character description “doesn't quite know who he is yet” + his powers being shapeshifting does not mean he’s gender fluid (and trust me, i would love this representation and some hcs make me really happy to see BUT..). His shapeshifting makes sense when they also describe him as a “Theatre Kid” and he’s 15! Of course he’s trying to figure out who he is! And im sure her feels pressure with his Abuela (literally everyone feels pressure from her!) The day after Anontios ceremony, she says “we’ll find a way to make your gift useful” and im sure she said the same to Camilo with shapeshifting, because that is a tricky one to figure out.

(+ i’ve seen someone say Camilo snapping his finger was a stim. it is not. this a common gesture in colombia and I see many of my hispanic friends do it too. Dolores hm is also an expression.)

Isabela not marrying a man does not make her lesbian, she was obviously just isn’t interested in that man (and he wasn’t as in love with her either) and was going with it to make Abuela happy, which is important to know and understand. That showed how she was doing something she thought was “best” for her family rather than being with someone she actually loves. Her song is literally about how she “has” to be perfect. That is her character story. The pressure of everyone telling her how perfect and beautiful she is and being frustrated and scared because she doesn’t want to be perfect.

Grandparents in latino families are honestly.. well it’s always something new. I can’t stand to see the way some people speak about Abuela. I was very upset with her too, and yeah she was a bitch but can you blame her for reacting the way she did? She had to flee her home because of a war that was happening, watched her husband die, and was left to take care of three children. of course she took control of things. she was scared to lose her family and because of that fear it over took her sight with trying to make everything be perfect and not weak. after all, the magic was given to her family. any signs of weakness could have made her lose her family and home, something she fought for, that her husband died for.

also if Abuela didn’t care about Mirabel, how was she the one to find her? Abuela cares for all of her family, she just had a hard way of showing it because of everything she had been through.

it’s totally okay to hc characters how you want and find comfort in these characters but a big problem with people hc characters is the fact that they are erasing the actual meaning behind the movie. lgbtq+ representation is amazing, especially coming from a kids movie but that is not what encanto is about. encanto was for latin representation and people are making it to be lgbtq+ representation. if you are going to talk about these characters then you do need to understand a lot of the thing they do and say have actually meanings a cultural beliefs behind them.

apologies if none of this makes sense, it is 3 in the morning for me but :) im tired of seeing certain things under the encanto tag! don’t even wanna get started on the weird and creepy shipping and how people are drawing characters with a lighter skintone + smaller noses.. sigh.. pocs can never have something for themselves can we?

( edited + mirabels clothing was to show and represent her family!!! and you would know that if you actually gave this movie serious attention instead of projecting your own thoughts and feelings onto it! mirabels clothing and all the embroidery made me really happy and brought all of warmth to my heart because it reminds me so much of my family and the traditional clothing women still wear.

first of all if you took this as me saying “queer pocs do not exist!!” you are the problem and the people im talking about. obviously they do im not stupid. is that really your argument with this? go argue with the wall because im not gonna have it.

anyways what i was trying to say yes you can have these hcs but these hcs are overshadowing the actual story to this movie. this movie is representation for latino people and talks about a subject that is extremely hard for latino families to talk about or even just think about so you bet your ass we are going to get frustrated watching white people turn this movie into things that have nothing to do with the movie. that’s all these hcs are doing. ignoring the actual subject when we finally got something that talked about, represented it well and gave people comfort.

i’m honestly done speaking about it because whats there to talk about? clearly those who disagree aren’t listening to those who are frustrated and trying to understand. i’ll mute this now. thank you to the people who understand or stated they would take the time to understand.)

i haven’t left my house—my room since i woke up. and that was close to two hours ago. today was a “special day”, my birthday, and yet nothing felt special about it. i was excited for the days leading up, but now i just want it to be over. so, i lay in bed, not knowing what to do. it all just seems so bland.

knock knock knock

there goes laying in bed for another hour. i get up, grabbing my shawl and throwing it over my shoulders. opening the door, no person awaits on the other side, but some furry little creators. they each make little noises of their own, speaking in a way i don’t understand. i smile though. antonio was for sure behind this. he was a sweetheart. “give me a minute.” i tell them before closing the door to go back and change out of my nightgown. i’m barely slipping my shoes on when the animals bang on my door again, impatiently no doubt. i laugh, stumbling out the door with my shoes finally on. the animals all skitter around me, leading me to la casa madrigal. i’d thought about going over the moment i awoke, but i didn't want to be a bother. i go over tons and it’s like a second home, but somehow it still felt troublesome for me to be over. especially with bruno returning only just a couple months ago, i don’t want to be in the way of family bonding time. i mean, the man was gone for ten years, living in the walls as pepa told me, so, of course, they need time.

la casita let the animals and me in the moment we stepped foot on the property, taking me to the center of the entrance room. i sway a bit, trying to balance myself after being moved so fast and suddenly by la casita. as i look around, i notice decorations put in every corner and the amazing smell of food coming from the kitchen. a banner is hung high from the upstairs balcony, painted beautifully feliz cumpleaños y/n!

oh…

“happy birthday!” each member of the family pops out from upstairs, grinning from ear to ear and shouting to me. i laugh loudly, feeling a prick of tears in the corner of my eye. pepa comes running down the stairs, catching me in an embrace and whispering a smaller happy birthday to me. i thank her, looking past her and seeing the rest of the family coming to give me a hug. they do so and i accept each one. i even got one from bruno. i’d spoken to the man only a few times. during the rebuild of their casa and the very few times i was over and we bumped into each other.

“happy birthday, y/n. we hardly know each other, but any friend of pepa’s is a friend of mine!” he exclaims grinning widely. i smile. “thank you, bruno.”

pepa brought me back into her arms. light rain had started to sprinkle over us as a cloud formed over her head. “why didn’t you come over sooner?” she asks. félix gently moves her back, saying she’d get me wet. “good question.” i smile awkwardly, looking around to find anything to get the conversation off my absence. “better question, why haven’t you been coming around at all?” damn you, camilo.

“yeah, tía y/n, we hardly ever see you anymore!” antonio frowns.

“i almost forgot what you looked like!” camilo changes to look like me and no matter how many times he does it, it still looks weird to see me from others point of view.

“tía y/n, are you okay? it’s like after la casita was rebuilt you disappeared…” mirabel frowns too. i chuckle awkwardly. that’s what i do, i laugh in situations that are not for laughing. “i came over a few times.”

“you came over three times in the last two months, dear.” juleita says, putting a hand on my shoulder. i look around me and everyone seems so sad because of my absence. i did not expect this.

“sorry. i wanted to give you all some time to recover from the whole miracle disaster thing, catch up with bruno and stuff.” i glance over at said man. he gives me a small lopsided smile and i can't ignore the small skip of my heart beat.

“mija, you are practically part of la familia madrigal, you should be here with us.” alma said, taking my hands into hers. she said she always considered me like another daughter when i'd gotten really close with pepa and came around la casa to help around whenever i could. albeit, she wasn’t as hard on me as she was the rest of her family.

“right…”

“shall we eat? mamá made all your favourites!” mirabel grabbed me by the arm and dragged me to their dining room. i took a seat next to pepa, camilo on my other side, bruno across from me. i looked at all the food and it was indeed all my favourites. “thank you.”

“you’re welcome, tía, it was all my idea really.” camilo boasts, handing me the cream. i laugh. “oh, really?”

“it’s true,” pepa smiles fondly. “he asked if we could throw you a surprise a few days ago.”

“you’re his favourite tía.” dolores says nonchalantly. camilo laughs nervously. “that’s not true…”

“i heard you muttering about how much you missed her.” dolores smirked. pepa cooed and reached around me to squeeze his shoulder. he groans. i lean over and give him a hug, squeezing him as hard as i can. “you’re too sweet, cami!”

the lunch they made for me would be enough to fill me till tomorrow. i caught up with all the drama and fun i’d missed in the last couple months. i got to know bruno. he was funny, making me laugh a lot. he had a way with the kids too. they seemed to love him, even if they’d missed him half their lives. and everytime he looked in my direction i couldn’t help the blush that took over my cheeks. he was far too attractive for his own good.

“y/n?” pepa shakes me by my shoulders. i look up at her in question. “what?”

“you’re staring at mi hermano bruno.” the tease in her voice does not go unnoticed by me. we were done with lunch and had moved to sit around outside. everyone was doing their own thing. bruno just happened to be across from me in my line of sight and chatting with félix.

“shut up, pepa.”

a light sprinkle started to go again, though i did not mind. i like how she was letting her gift be what it wanted. “you and him would be so fantastic! if you and him married, you could be a part of la familia officially!” i gulp. “pepa! you are getting ahead of yourself!” the rain cloud became heavier as she got more into the idea of bruno and me. i was starting to soak a bit.

“mami! why are you drizzling?” camilo shouted over to us. dolores walked over to him and whispered in his ear. camilo looked like he was seeing stars with a large grin on his face and sparkling eyes.

i groan. “por el amor de dios.”

Okay, so this may sound really predictable considering what you said about Pepa, but I swear there's more to it than that. I think your perfect match would be Felix Madrigal!

So, obviously, Felix has experience in helping people with anxiety. After all, Pepa is shown to be very anxious and has really big emotions, and I'm his daughter was overstimulated a ton when she first got her gift. He's also been there to comfort Agustin when he was feeling "unceptional," so we already know he's a very sweet and caring person who is willing to help anybody going through a tough time.

He loves children, and I think he would just gush if he saw you coddling or spoiling one like I'm pretty sure he has done before with his own kids. He screams "fun dad" to me, and I love that for him.

He's also quite the performer and comedian. He has a knack for storytelling, and I'm sure he would take every opportunity he could to make you laugh. He also clearly has a thing for women with a strong and attractive personality, so I'm sure he would love your diva side as well!

He will be there to affirm your emotions no matter what you're feeling and will guide you through them so that you don't have a meltdown or overreact to anything. However, he will never invalidate your feelings and will constantly reassure that its okay to be emotional. That's what makes you human, after all!

Summary: Camilo is like the pranking leader of Encanto, its like his whole life was spent on mastering it. When you two started dating, he would pull up simple pranks to make you smile but it gets out of hand. So when you had enough, you decided to pull up the biggest prank that he never expect.

When it comes to pranks, no one can really stop Camilo. Like no one, not even you. At first, you were like super fine with it, and constantly you would just laugh it out together with him. But sometimes his pranks can be a little too extreme.

You would constantly fight about it, but he would end up do things for your forgiveness and ofcourse, who can stay mad at him for long? Not you, thats for sure.

"Hey Luisa, have you seen Camilo?" You asked her, as she was the only Madrigal you have seen at the moment.

"Surprisingly I haven't, check in the Casita maybe he went home for arepas" Luisa said as she patted your head gently, being a caring and sweet friend that she is.

You thanked her as you are currently walking towards Casita, you saw Luisa coming towards you which made you halt in your tracks.

"Oh hey Y/N!!" Luisa waved hesitantly as she noticed the look on your face when she got closer, to which she sighed. "—let me guess, you saw me earlier but as we know, that was probably Camilo" She added as you nodded and gave her a smile and walked back in town.

You frowned as you were really tired and Camilo just had to let you go back and forth to the whole town. You scanned your eyes for a possible townfolk that is acting like Camilo Madrigal. Until one kid, tugs on your skirt.

"Are you..Y/N?" The little girl asked which you leaned down to be at her eye level and then nodded.

"Yes, I am. Why, whats the matter?" You gently said at her to make her comfortable, because it looks like she was anxious or nervous about something.

"Are you..are you the person Camilo is dating?"

"Yeah...that's me?" You said unsurely on why this girl suddenly asked you such a thing.

"Well, he told me to tell you to meet him at that top of the hill" She said and pointed at the hill of our usual spot. You instantly smiled, as the doubts that were starting to fill your head earlier were now gone.

"Awh gracias niña" You squish her cheeks and started to walk on where Camilo is 'waiting'

But as soon as you arrived on top of the hill, there was a note placed in the tree you would always stay at.

'Oh look your Cami still not here, I know you already miss me ;) Look below the hill, specifically in the bridge. You'll find your chameleon'

At this moment, IF you weren't tired you'll be overwhelmed by this goofy surprises but right now you just wanted some cuddles or sleep and your boyfriend isn't helping.

"That punk, shapshifted into Luisa and even a little girl to trick me" You groaned and turned to the bridge he said and there he is. Waving at you as he motioned you to come down to go to him.

You went down the hill and went straight to where Camilo at, pissed. As he opened his arms wide but immediately put them down as soon as he saw you.

"Woah, I think you could really use some rest, vida" He said as he held your hand, which made you smile sarcastically.

"Exactly, I am tired I just want to plop down into your bed but you decided to have me tour myself in town. Really, Madrigal?" You said getting annoyed at the moment.

Camilo knew what he did, and he felt bad also scared because you just called him by his last name. That's the real horror there.

"Look, I was just messing with you no need to be like this" He said which made you pissed and walked away, going to the Casita. "—Oh come on! Really?!" He said as he tried catching up to you but as soon as he held your arm, you would just continue walking and ignoring him.

"Milo, please let me reach your room and we'll talk" You groaned as you felt your body becoming heavy with tiredness as Camilo kepts on pulling you.

You thought he finally stopped but he suddenlg pulled you closer to him, and carried you like a bag of sack. You tried getting out of his grip by slapping his back, but no avail.

"Amor, I would like to catch you if you fall but im now going upstairs so please stop moving" He said gently as you stopped moving.

You saw Pepa downstairs looking worriedly at you two as a cloud appeared in his head. Camilo seemed to have a Mamí instinct in his, coz he knows a cloud appeared even if he wasn't looking.

"Mamí, no te preocupes. We're both fine" He said as you gave Pepa a thumbs up as she nodded and the cloud disappeared, because of the smile she is now wearing.

You both arrived at his room, as he put you down gently on the bed. He went back to his door and closed it but as soon as he saw you, you ended up sleeping on his bed. He chuckled at the sight and fixed your position as he went beside you and cuddled, him being your big spoon.

You woke up at the feeling of someone caressing your head and you knew it was Camilo, so you decided to pretend sleeping.

"I'm sorry Amor, didn't know you were tired. I hope you forgive me" He said and kissed your cheeks, trying so hard not to smile.

"I would die if we won't last forever, you are the only person who knows how to handle someone like me. I have my flaws but you love me endlessly. How did I deserve such an angel like you?" He said as you sense a hint of doubtness in his voice, which you can't really bare to hear it from him.

So you opened your eyes and stood up, he was shocked at first but you held his cheeks and leaned your forehead to his.

"mi amor, mi bebe, mi alma gemela, mi novio bromista, mi todo. Te amo. No matter how many guys the world has, I'll choose you because your flaws are what makes you, YOU. You are Camilo Madrigal you deserve everything that will make you happy, everyone does. The right person will love you for your flaws, because love isn't meassured by how perfect someone is but how you accept them with all your heart with it. And if we did break up, I would rather die first than to have it happen"

You said and smiled. He has overwhelming tears in his eyes as he cupped your face and leaned down to kiss you. You both pulled away after a minute and then he chuckled.

"So I'll guess more pranks for you, then"

You scoffed and rolled your eyes, as you held up a pillow and throw it in his face.

"Just watch out, amor. Someday I'm gonna get you with the most amazing prank"

"Yeah, yeah goodluck with that" He said and tackled you in his bed, laughing at the process.

Weeks after weeks, Camilo really step up his game with his pranks after you told him, you'll have your revenge. It looks like he didn't want to lose in this pranking thing when there is even no competition.

So you decided to make a plan not so dangerous but you knew this would get up in his nerves. Ofcourse, a good planned prank wouldn't be effective without the help of others. You carefullg would tell the Madrigals what you've planned, without Camilo suspecting anything, so that they wouldn't also panic at his reaction knowing he would be a mess and also there would be no misunderstanding.

"Isn't this too much?" Pepa asked as she keeps on combing her hair to avoid the worry she's starting to think, ofcourse Felix would help her calm down.

"Nah, its time for him to learn how to pay the price" Mirabel snickered as Isabela high fived with her, as Luisa just shook her head, getting worried at how her primo would react to this.

"Well, if this would lessen his prank things, then okay I'll just tell Abuela about this. And Y/N once things started to get out of hand, you will tell him right?" She said and suddenly appeared a cloud above everyone of you.

"YES TOTALLY!" You said worrying to be drizzled by the cloudrain, as it suddenly disappeared.

"He's here, act normal!" Dolores said and squeeked, as you mentally facepalmed at the thought of them acting the opposite of normal act like nothing happened when told to.

"HeyY CAmiLo/MiLo/Mi hijo" All of them coincidentally said at the same time, as I looked at Camilo who have his face confused.

"Okayy?? Wow I feel loved" He smugly said as the others just scoffed at him and went back to their chores, leaving you, Mirabel and Camilo alone.

"Heyy, vida what brings you here?" He said as he went closer to hug you but you decided to high fived his hand instead, trying not to laugh the frown formed in his face.

"Bye, Milo. Mirabel thank you for the advice!!" You said and quickly walked away from Casita. There was no advice ofcourse it was just an act, and poor Camilo was so confused.

"Did you see that?? They didn't hugged me nor even GIVE ME A GOODBYE KISS?! AND what advice?" Camilo groaned and turned at his prima, but Mirabel just shrugged at him.

"There was someone in town that they just need advice but nah, you'll be fine" She said and patted her primo's shoulder.

Camilo was worried but he ignored the thought off, as maybe it wad just your friend or what but he can't help the fact that during that day you were ignoring him and he didn't even got seconds because of overthinking what he did wrong.

The week was almost over and Camilo was a mess, his eyes are a bit dark from lack of sleep. He looked weak because of having no seconds and the bubbly attitude that everyone would see in him, was just gone.

As soon as he saw you, he would get closer but you will ignore him and be with your friend, which he started to be jealous and mad of. But it was just always Mirabel disguised as someone and it works.

It was a torture for you too, but you need to do this for him to realize that sometimes pranks can go a little overboard and needs to stop. That's why you suddenly asked and talked to him, after a few days of didn't, to meet you in the bridge.

"AHH AMOR!!!" He suddenly asked as he flopped himself into you, unto which you catched him in no time noticing he really was feeling weak.

You guided him to sat into one the rocks as you stared at the water flowing below the bridge.

"Hey, is there something wrong? You were ignoring me these past few days..and I...I just missed you" He said pain visible in his voice, as you felt your heart sink at the thought of your lover being in vain.

"Camilo..I think.." You looked at him, which ALMOST made you drop your act because of the emptiness his eyes has knowing you weren't with him for the past days. "—we should...break up" You said whispering the last part but unluckily for him, he heard it.

He stood up in the rocks, as tears fell down in his eyes as he went back and forth.

"No, no this can't be happening. Why?!? This is so sudden?!! PLEASEE TELL ME THIS ISNT REAL!! I wanna wake up in this nightmare, Por favorrrrrrr" He said as he slightly tugged and messed his hair. He was a crying mess, you were about to calm him down and tried to tell him it was a break up prank but he suddenly walked away from you, no knowing where he would go as you started to lose him to your sight.

'mierda, where did he go?'

You went to Casita and find Dolores luckily she was also looking for you, as she heard the whole conversation and told you were Camilo is. You thanked her as you ran to where he was.

There you saw him on the river where Mirabel and Abuela made up before. He was crying as he shapeshifts into random people at a time, he was a mess which affects his gift.

You quickly went to him and hugged him so tight, he was shocked at first as he shapeshifted back before noticing it was you. By the moment, he saw that it was really you he hugged you back much more tightly, still having his eyes puffy at his crying earlier.

"You...you came back for me" He said hope visible in the emotions of his words and actions.

"Lo siento, amor. Ofcourse, I would never break up with you I told you I would die first if this would happen. Te amo tanto, my Camilo Madrigal, its just that I thought this would be a good revenge prank—

"A GOOD WHAT NOW?" He said pulling away from the hug loooking at you with a frown and ridiculous face, despite the puffiness in his eyes. You can't help but chuckle at his adorableness.

"Remember I'll habe my revenge on you, this was a break up prank I planned, Lo siento. And that friend I always hangout with that was Mirabel in disguise to look like someone else."

Camilo was astonished at the moment, just minutes ago he was crying over A PRANK? He had his mouth agaped and looked at you, with I dont know mixed thought. He thought this was cruel and ridiculous, it was too much for him but at the same time he was proud that you outsmart him with a prank.

"Aye, Dios Mío. NEVER EVER do that again. Gosh, if this is what I get I'LL NEVER DO BIG PRANKS AGAIN" He said as he groaned which made you smile and went up to him to pull him by his collar.

"Camilo Madrigal, you just got pranked~" You said and immediately kissed him as he kissed back.

You both entered the Casita noticing everyone was in the kitchen table so you joined them.

"Here, Milo. Have many seconds you look like a skeleton mi hijo" Julieta said which caused Mirabel to laugh as Luisa playfully nudged her.

"Your eyes looked like a puffer fish from the cries you did" Pepa said who is beside him, as she squish her son's cheeks and smiled.

"Wait what how?"

"Pretty much everyone here was part of the plan" Isabela teased as Camilo looked at you, who playfully refused to make eye contact with him just eating your food.

The whole dinner was spent on Dolores telling everyone what Camilo just ranted on the river, which ended up everyone chuckling or laughing at the story. Camilo could just hide his head on the table for every embarassment.

After that you decided to sleep at his room, as you are now both cuddled up together.

"I feel like being betrayed by everyone" He sulked as you laughed at him.

"Atleast you said no pranks anymore"

"Who said that? No lo hice. I just said no more BIG PRANKS because I don't want you to take revenge EVER" He said which made you laughed the whole time watching him sulk.

ENCANTO THOUGHTS PART 1

Cause I’ve seen this movie a million times and I have a lot of thoughts about it

At the start of the movie we see five year old Julietta, Pepa and Bruno standing in front of their doors but then a few minutes later during Mirabel’s song she says he disappeared and the door has moved to a singular hallway on its own. Now, we see later on in the movie the door is in the same place when Bruno left, meaning that the door was moved before he disappeared, so who moved the door? Do the owners of the door have the ability to move it wherever they want in the Encanto house? Or did Abuela demand it be moved? Or did Bruno move it right before he left? Not to mention the door - which was in the middle of his sisters’ doors in the beginning of the movie - is now on it’s own in a darkened hallway which not only symbolises Bruno’s isolation from the family but also speaks of his loneliness too 😭 aaargh this movie

Abuela startling Mirabel by her incessant yelling resulting in her knocking over the candle and burning the lovely decorations she’s made herself cause she wants to contribute something to the “special night” even though she just be feeling so many negative emotions on the inside and Abuela fucking tells her she should leave the decorating to somebody else like WOW Abuela.

And she doesn’t stop there!! She then says “oh I know you wanna help but tonight’s gotta go perfectly” “some of us should step aside and leave it to your more important gifted relatives” Insinuating that Mirabel is not perfect and always messes things up and you can see Mirabel’s face just fall cause this girl is trying so damn hard and honestly I want to fight Abuela at this point and it’s only 12 minutes into the movie (why does this hit right in the feels oh wait because I know exactly how Mirabel feels that’s why)

Other things -

Pepa asking Dolores if she can hear whether somebody is going to be late, further accentuating her need for everything to be perfect to please Abuela, her mother

Abuela telling everyone to clean their rooms “I don’t care how big they are” yeah… sure Abuela we’ll get right on that we’re not preparing for a party right now or anything 🙄

Mirabel and Antonio’s relationship being the cutest most precious thing everrrrrr 😭😭😭

Mirabel smoothing down her little dress right before reaching for the doorknob in the flashback 😭

So it’s pretty clear I don’t like Abuela all that much but still you can see her confusion and panic right after Mirabel doesn’t get her gift, it would be a redeeming feature if not for the fact that she’s probably not sad for Mirabel missing out on a cool gift, just scared for the Encanto itself

Mirabel singing “can’t keep down this unspoken invisible pain” jeez that hurts

This whole song where Mirabel is desperate to just feel like a true part of the family, begging the Encanto for a miracle thinking it’ll make her family see her worth and that she’d in turn feel worthy of their acceptance

Antonio doing a little dance to impress his friends in the party scene 🥺

Pepa getting an angry rain cloud when Mirabel pushes her out the way to sit next to Luisa then the cloud disappearing when Felix smiles at her

Luisa saying “I’m pretty sure I’m worthless if I can’t be of service” breaks my heart. There’s so much to unpack in that song but this lyric probably gets to me the most. How she feels is caused directly by Abuela as we’ve already seen how caring and understanding her mother Julietta is towards her children and I don’t see her piling on the pressure so yep it’s Abuela again

I’m so curious to know why Casita has no power in Bruno’s room since, well, it’s the same magic that created the room in the first place?

* Did Bruno’s room look like that when he left or has it just degraded over time? Imagine being five years old and everyone else having an amazing room and you walk in to a scary ass room like that

i can't believe you haven't seen barbie in the nutcracker. hopefully you can fix that very soon. you don't need any barbie knowledge to enjoy it haha

meeting one of the directors of bolt sounds amazing! glad you got to do that. definitely makes up for the first disappointing movie.

i can enjoy a villain redemption story, but instead we are getting movies that excuse a villain's bad behavior with a tragic backstory. please just let the villains make mistakes and redeem them afterwards, or give us the full villain story we deserve. it's fine if the main character isn't a good person. as long as the movie is enjoyable. it can be very fun to watch the villain doing dastardly things.

that's totally valid! for me a dream job is just something i would enjoy doing with the perk of getting paid for it. since most of my current hobbies do not pay at all haha. but yeah definitely put your own happiness over making money. jobs can take the fun out of things you enjoy because of the stress of deadlines and trying to meet certain standards.

i'm glad you got to watch so many shows and movies. i did a lot of that too and it was really nice. i miss having that kind of free time, tho do not miss the stress of being scared to go out.

it's great that you found a job you like. definitely a fun place to work too! my dream job is really just making money from my hobbies and being able to collaborate with other people more often.

i should have stuck to one question haha. thankfully i saw your answer to the second one in the tag. the daughter of dr. calico sounds really cool! i'm glad to hear you've put a lot of thought into this already. personally i think it would be fun to be alice in wonderland's kid. i can just imagine creative pursuits being encouraged and i am very curious by nature.

christmas is just around the corner. are you an ugly christmas sweater fan? and if so, what is your favorite one you own or one you would want to buy? ⛄

yah thats a really good point! im not really used to seeing movies where the character isnt a good person, but i guess the bigger problem is when its unclear if youre supposed to side with them or not, yknow? like i binged bojack horseman in the fall and they make it abundantly clear that hes not a good person and if you relate to him you should get help lol.

yah i totally feel the same way. if my hobbies do pay, its minimal, but if i wanna keep doing them in a self-run way without pressure from outside sources, i have to keep them hobbies and do what i said im doing and keep a job that i enjoy enough that pays the bills, which thankfully i have! i wouldnt mind some sort of editing job since ive been editing videos since i was 11 and did some for the faculty at my high school, but the application and searching process is too daunting and i dont want it THAT bad lol. but like if it were offered to me and it made sense for me at the time, id probably like it.

oh yah 100% same. i would never have wished for that to happen to the world but im glad i was able to make the most of it given the circumstances.

good question! i have a jolly to the core ugly sweater that i got on redbubble a few years ago. i wore it to the disneyland christmas party last week on my birthday. and my friend @tevinter-pariah recently gifted me a replica of joey's cat sweater from joy-to-a-rooney and its glorious. i dont think i could get any better than those two lol. what about you?
