Because of what's happening on Twitter...
I've made a little diagram to demonstrate why billionaires and the ultra-wealthy are bad for society.
Tumblr media
(Text in Image)
"If we view society as a body, every sector is like a different organ within the body that serves a function and works in harmony with other organs to maintain balance. Every part of the body is important for the whole thing to function."
"The ultra-wealthy want you to believe they are the beating heart and thinking mind of the society – they are the innovators who create our jobs and their brilliance drives society forward. They deserve to be at the top of society because they have earned that. Without them, the body won’t function because they are the most important part."
"In reality, they are more like a malignant tumour, sucking all of the blood (resources) away from everything else (people and the planet) to fuel its own infinite growth, depriving the rest of the body and slowly killing it. Workers create all of the innovation and keep things running, the ultra-wealthy take all the credit."
------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a public domain image so feel free to pinch it for whatever.
Elon Musk has put the careers of thousands of small business owners who depend on Twitter (myself included) in jeopardy by completely running it into the ground. Before this, Mark Zuckerberg had already been doing the same when he started pursuing Metaverse, making Instagram and Facebook much more unusable for artists. Do I really need to go into other examples of CEOs and very normalised practise of wage theft?
Meanwhile, the UK currently has the richest Prime Minister in its history. What is this man doing with this wealth? Continuing the Tory legacy of austerity in order to line his pockets and the pockets of his crony friends. This has resulted in a devastating cost of living crisis that continues to ravage the country as people's energy bills skyrocket out of control.
My diagram is pretty basic and lacks nuance, there's definitely more I could elaborate on with this comparison but I really don't have time. I just want people to get the basic point of how billionaires view themselves vs what function they actually serve. I'm also not here to debate whether some organs are more important than others since I'm not a doctor, that's not really the point here. And no, I don't care if people think I'm being harsh by comparing billionaires to a tumour. If they don't want to be compared to one they should stop acting like one. Jeff Bezos could end world hunger right now and chooses not to.
Also, I know a lot of people are going to come at me with the argument that billionaires give away massive amounts of money. First off, people like Jeff Bezos only give large sums of money to charity a.) for the sake of improving their public image and b.) because giving to charity allows them to write it off in their taxes. Also, charities in of themselves have a lot of problems, but that's a blog post for another day. Mutual Aid is a better way to help people directly. Really, the ultra wealthy need to be taxed, of course they do everything within their power to avoid taxes.
Also:
Tumblr media
"Earning a lot of money" and "holding onto a lot of money" are two different things. You cannot be a multi-millionaire unless you hold onto that money. If you give away massive chunks of it to enrich society, you cease to be a billionaire.
Oh and this is worth a watch, too.
Furthermore:
Tumblr media
Also before the inevitable great man comments:
Tumblr media
Being a billionaire is a moral failing. Nobody needs that much money.
[Slight edit here - I made the assertion that a billionaire could not spend all of their money in their lifetime, but as someone in the comments pointed out it's very easy for them to completely waste billions in no time. Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have shown that].
Anyway, if you would like to see more anti-Capitalist art from me, I am currently working on a webcomic called "Flowerpunk" - a story about a group of anarchists who are trying to save the city of Wyrdon from a supernatural plague known as "the rot." The comic heavily discusses disaster Capitalism and how the rich will use mass death and destruction as an opportunity to further line their pockets.
I also like to do little anti-Capitalist doodles relating to this project, which I plan to make into posters at some point.

Please consider donating a Ko-Fi also if you would like to help support this project. I am really struggling at the moment because I've basically lost a massive chunk of my client base due to this Twitter implosion and also because of the AI BS that has made it impossible for me to get any reach nowadays. The last year or so has been an absolute nightmare for my career because of all of this.
Thank you all for your continued support! Hopefully I can re-establish my audience here on Tumblr and wherever else I decide to go.

SAG-AFTRA is asking cosplayers to not cosplay characters from struck companies. This includes movies that are struck today (like The Barbie Movie) as well as characters that would be struck if they were produced today such as Umbrella academy.
Books are okay. DC and Marvel are okay ONLY if you base your costume off the comic and not the live action. Anime dubs are covered under SAG, so anime that's been dubbed in the US isn't okay. Also any anime that's been produced by Netflix, Prime, etc also not okay.
Video games I believe are fine.
This is most likely because the actors are paid to promote their work. So if the actors are striking, that promotion that's being lost is supposed to be a huge bargaining chip. Companies are already trying to reach out to creators for promotions, but since that's part of the job if the actors, that's seen as scabbing.
Since cosplay is technically free promotions...

Bernie Sanders thinks you should work fewer days.
The progressive from Vermont chimed in on the four-day work week debate on Twitter, writing: "With exploding technology and increased worker productivity, it's time to move toward a four-day work week with no loss of pay. Workers must benefit from technology, not just corporate CEOs."
Tumblr media
Sanders was referencing the latest findings out of the UK on the four-day work week. A large-scale pilot program, spanning over 3,000 workers, found that workers slept better, firms made more money, and employees were less likely to say they did not have enough time to care for loved ones.
As the Washington Post reports, most of the companies involved in the pilot plan on continuing to use a four-day work week.
The concept of a four-day work week has increasingly caught on over the last few years, with firms and researchers alike taking the plunge to cut back hours without reducing pay.
As Insider reported in December, 4 Day Week Global — a New Zealand-based nonprofit — conducted a study involving 33 participating companies that employed 969 people based in the US, Australia, Ireland, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, who adopted a four-day work week in a pilot program over a six-month period, and it found it was a "resounding success on virtually every dimension."
"Companies are extremely pleased with their performance, productivity and overall experience, with almost all of them already committing or planning to continue with the 4 day week schedule," the report said.
"Revenue has risen over the course of the trial. Sick days and absenteeism are down," it continued. "Companies are hiring. Resignations fell slightly, a striking finding during the 'Great Resignation.' Employees are similarly enthusiastic. And climate impacts, while less well-measured, are also encouraging."
Some US companies have started testing out the idea, as well. A Chick-fil-A owner in Florida launched a three-day work week in November, and he received 400 applications for just one job opening due to the popularity of a shortened workweek.
This isn't the first time a four-day work week has caught the attention of lawmakers — the Congressional Progressive Caucus previously endorsed the "32-Hour Workweek Act," with Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal saying in a statement at the time that it's "past time that we put people and communities over corporations and their profits — finally prioritizing the health, wellbeing, and basic human dignity of the working class rather than their employers' bottom line."
Rep. Mark Takano, a Democrat from California, proposed that legislation. He previously told Insider that a 32-hour work week — which would become the new standard under his proposal — would help Americans craft the new normal of work that they've been demanding.
"I think there was a Great Realization among a lot of Americans — how hard they're working and that they wanted to move on from the jobs that they were working at," Takano said. "So a four-day work week is something that connects a lot of Americans."

I did an off-topic video this week!
There has been some speculation going around about what exactly has been going on with Bandcamp and the union that the workers are a part of, Bandcamp United, over the past few months. I just thought I would summarize it to the best of my abilities.
The links to follow BandcampUnited and support the healthcare fund are in the video description.

"BURNING OF JEWISH BOOKS IS PROTESTED," Winnipeg Tribune. May 11, 1933. Page 2. ---- Close of 1,200 Attend Meeting of Protest Against Nazi Activities --- The civilized nations of the world. should protest the burning of Jewish books in Germany, declared Rabbi Osher Zilberstein at a protest meeting against the recent Nazi actions held in the Hebrew Free school Wednesday night.
A large audience, numbering close to 1,200, attended the meeting to hear Rabbi Zilberstein, Dr. I. Pearlman, Marcus Hyman, and several other speakers. Ald. M. A. Gray was in the chair.
Rabbi Zilberstein said the protest of the world should say. "Give up your powder and guns, you modern barbarians; such things are a danger, even in the hands of civilized people, much more so in yours; put on bow and arrow and turn back to your woods." He characterized the burning of the books as a "horrible exhibition" and an "insane practice."
The modern mediaevals of Germany burned the records of physics, mathematics, medical science, music and art, only because they were of Jewish authorship. Such things could only be condemned and pitied. Hitler had tried for 14 years to show that the Jews were responsible for Germany's troubles, and later for the world's, but now he was demonstrating that they were responsible only insofar as Einstein's Theory of Relativity, Freud's Psychoanalysis and Heine's poems were.
Dr. Pearlman stated that that not only were the Hitlerites destroying the best that had been created in their world of literature, but an integral part of German culture."They may destroy the books, but they will never succeed in destroying the spirit contained in them," declared S. Miller, another speaker.

In celebration of my own full evolution to a Marxist Leninist over the years and in celebration of my own working class struggle, I have changed the name of this blog from Left Wing Solidarity, to Working Class Solidarity.
Ideological consistency is important, but organizing along Class lines is ESSENTIAL if we are to ever liberate ourselves from the yoke of the Capitalist Class.
And so I welcome people of all persuasions to peruse this blog as you please. Learn how we're all being screwed equally by the Capitalist System, the Capitalist Class, and all its apparatchiks in the political class. Learn how Imperialism and colonial aspirations are alive and well in the US and the West. Join me in learning how it's hurting real people all across the globe, people of disparate traditions, cultures, political and economic systems and ideologies, and how it's also fucking us here at home.
I offer some Marxist propaganda of course, but I also collect the news that's hard to find in the West and bring my own analysis to the table every now and then.
So with that, welcome to Working Class Solidarity: A Blog on News and Communist propaganda!
