So...Thoughts on the whole people thinking Sylvie is Aro-Ace? I can kinda see her being Aromantic, but with her mentioning she's more "hedonistic" than Loki and silently hinting that she's Bi too, can't really see her as Asexual. But what do you think?
LET'S TALK ABOUT SYLVIE'S SEXUALITY, HER RELATIONSHIPS WITH LOKI AND MOBIUS, & HER CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SERIES NARRATIVE
Before I answer this, I think it's important to acknowledge that fictional characters exist for people's comfort and pleasure. I write original fiction, and I would hope that most artists believe in the right of the audience to interpret character to meet their personal needs. To me, canon is a sandbox. Everyone should play with it as they please and not hate on each other. There are more important things in life to worry about. Therefore, if Sylvie reads as Aro-Ace to you and that reading brings you joy, then she is.
This question inherently requires the need to talk about Sylki in this post. I predominantly analyze Lokius, so please, no hate! My number one rule is never yucking someone's yum. Furthermore, Sylvie plays a critical role in Loki's development and the philosophical thrust of the series, of which Mobius also contributes to as the other half of Loki's character arc equation (selflessness and sparing life [Mobius] + free will and revolution [Sylvie]). It would be biased and disingenuous to not acknowledge her contributions to the overarching narrative.
ARO-ACE INTERPRETATION
All right, your question! I can definitely can see Sylvie as being aro-ace. That's a legitimate interpretation based on how she responds to Loki's flirtation and romantic advances. It is also possible that she's an aromantic bisexual. This second possibility is more likely based on the text the audience is given.
THE CANON TEXT
Having said that, I think you're curious about what the source material is trying to say about Sylvie's character and how that influences her sexuality. I believe it's important to remember that external behavior doesn't dictate how someone defines themselves. Closeting and disengagement from intimacy because of trauma are prime examples of this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The train scene in S1E4 reads as earnest. Loki and Sylvie are both very lonely characters. In this moment, both are trying to connect with someone who finally understands them because they are the same. It's actually a lovely nod to the queer experience.
Tumblr media
The dialogue, lighting, and costuming (blue, purple, pink) in this scene communicates they are both queer, specifically bisexual. The lighting and costuming combining to represent the bisexual pride flag is an example of queer subtext in film. The dialogue, while direct, is also written in such a way that it avoids explicitly stating "men and women." Sylvie later comments that the brief flings she indulges in during apocalypses helped her "keep going". She even specifies that apocalypses make people desperate. This suggests that Sylvie likely didn't need to do much wooing or charming like Loki would to obtain a sexual partner. Finally, the way Tom and Sophie play this scene is vulnerable. I therefore believe we can take this on-screen admission at face value.
So the question becomes, why does Sylvie respond to Loki's flirtations the way she does?
SYLVIE'S BACKGROUND
Sylvie was orphaned and forced to run all her life from a very young age. Her backstory is deeply tragic. To live in such a way means that she never had the opportunity to experience adolescence.
Tumblr media
NOTE: This is honestly my favorite gif of Sylvie. She's so sweet and cute when she's happy. I can't get over the 5 stars on her employee badge. "Sylvie, can you refill the straws?" "Already did it!" The sweetheart.
Sylvie working at McDonald's accomplishes two things: it allows Disney to fulfill their advertising sponsorship agreement for the fast-food franchise, and it subtly alludes to Sylvie's need to live the adolescence she didn't get to. The TVA forced her into arrested development. She never had the chance to make friends and safely socialize on her own terms. The centuries of trauma have made trust, let alone romance, completely foreign to her.
Which is why, when Loki and Sylvie have romantic scenes, she is often awkward or, if not unreceptive, wary. Her previous flings, as she agrees with Loki, were "never real". Physical intimacy without emotional intimacy is a familiar dynamic for both characters. Their relationship with one another is their first experience of emotional intimacy (or at least attempt at it) outside of their families. The pursuit of this emotional intimacy feels safe to them because they are the same entity and thus they know each other's base nature (versus nurture!) to some degree.
The difference between them is that Sylvie has not experienced social rejection in the way Loki has (nurture!). She recognizes the wrongness with which the TVA has treated her. She knows the absolute atrocities the TVA has committed. She is determined to destroy them to free herself and all timelines. Sylvie is consequently more self-assured, more confident in what she wants and believes in, than Loki. In S2, Sylvie's clarity on desire is what allows her to help Loki articulate what he wants: his friends back, most especially Mobius.
Tumblr media
In S1E1, Loki, still posturing before Mobius, describes himself as a "liberator". At this point in the story, we know that isn't true, but it will become true by the finale. This line of dialogue foreshadows Loki's trajectory as well as Sylvie's revealed motivation in S1E4: to liberate.
THE NEXUS EVENT
There are a variety of ways for viewers to interpret what exactly the Nexus Event was. The canon, within the text of Mobius's dialogue and verbal confirmation from the creators, is that Loki and Sylvie fell in love. Now, I'm not going to spend time arguing over other interpretations here, but I will say that regardless of whatever pairing or OT3 a viewer ships, the Nexus Event was ALSO definitively this: two Lokis in the same place, at the same time, not feeling lonely together.
And Sylvie, who had confessed to Loki she has no friends and has never really experienced joy, answers Renslayer with the number of positive memories she has:
Tumblr media
Sylvie doesn't state it outright, but the subtext is clear that her one positive memory was her time with Loki on Lamentis. Indeed, moments later, Sylvie prunes herself in an effort to find and rescue him.
SYLVIE & MOBIUS
Tumblr media
But being the harshly pragmatic individual she is, upon arrival and encountering Alioth, Sylvie assumes Loki didn't make it. I don't think Sylvie means what she says in a cruel way. I think she believes this because she is accustomed to disappointment and accordingly guards herself with cynicism. Sylvie's traumas, her difficulty with trust, her inexperience with intimate relationships, and her cynicism all combine to create an individual who may appear aro-ace when that may not necessarily be the case. Please note, however, that Sylvie being aro-ace or aro-bisexual may still be a possibility. My analysis here is based on what the text and subtext seem to be telling us about her character.
Tumblr media
Notably, it is Mobius who is more optimistic about Loki's survival, wondering if Sylvie truly believes that Loki is dead.
This moment is brief, but it is significant because Mobius's optimism implies that not only does he believe in Loki, he also wants Loki to be alive. Sylvie is intelligent. She can read between the lines. We can also assume an off-screen conversation took place between them that confirmed for Sylvie Mobius's genuine care for Loki. When Sylvie informs Loki of this fact, I believe we get this:
Tumblr media
Mobius was conservative in how Loki might interpret their relationship, extending a handshake before their goodbyes. Loki, on the heels of his conversation with Sylvie, chooses to hug him instead. The result: Mobius is delighted!
I've long pondered on why Mobius would say, "You're my favorite" to Sylvie. I believe this is why: she helped along their friendship and opened the gates for physical affection between them. This demonstrates that Sylvie cares enough for Loki to ensure he is secure in his bond with Mobius. It likely helped that Mobius did not deny the TVA's evil when she pointed it out to him, and that he did not hesitate to apologize to her for it.
Ironically, it is Mobius's optimism, especially in the potential of broken things to become something better (whether it is Loki himself or the TVA), that creates the fraught philosophical divide between Sylvie and Mobius (and Loki) with regards to the TVA in S2.
Tumblr media
THE S1 FINALE
The S2 finale is where the narrative between Loki and Sylvie turns, and the plot pivots to the deepening relationship between Loki and Mobius. Triggering this event is Loki's desire to slow down and think about the consequences of killing HWR in the Citadel at The End of Time.
This may seem out-of-character at first glance. S1E1-E4 have demonstrated that Loki's decision making is sometimes chaotic by virtue of impulse. What was the last impulsive decision he made with heavy consequences?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He ran off after Sylvie. A good decision ultimately, as Loki learns the truth about the TVA through Sylvie, but only by luck. This decision very nearly cost Loki a friendship, one he didn't even realize he had until Mobius called him a "bad friend."
Despite the fallout, Mobius recovers relatively quickly once he confirms Loki's claims and views Ravonna's recording of C-20. He reestablishes trust with Loki as soon as possible to help Loki be with the one he loves. Why? Because Mobius is ultimately selfless and wants Loki's happiness regardless of his own feelings of jealousy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which circles us back to the theme of trust and Sylvie's challenges with it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Loki and Sylvie's relationship falls apart not because of lack of mutual interest, but because Sylvie loses trust in Loki and with good reason: HWR (and thus the TVA) is the cause of all her suffering.
It is not Sylvie's fault she is this way. She hasn't had enough time to develop meaningful relationships, and the one relationship that was meaningful to her (Loki's) became, in her eyes, a profound betrayal. This experience only adds to the other traumas Sylvie carries with her, making encounters with Loki in S2 emotionally difficult if not triggering.
The relationships of Loki & Sylvie and Loki & Mobius are intentionally set side-by-side for 3 critical reasons:
1.) To demonstrate Loki's growth by developing trust and thus emotional intimacy with others.
2.) To create the Plot B emotional source of conflict in S2.
3.) To set-up Mobius and Sylvie's individual beliefs and values (selflessness and sparing life [Mobius] + free will and revolution [Sylvie]), which Loki combines into his own system of beliefs and values. This combination gives Loki the strength and wisdom to ascend the throne and become the God of Stories (and Time).
THE S2 FINALE
Loki comes to his final decision after speaking with the two halves of his character arc equation. Loki first seeks out Mobius, who shares with him the distinction between himself and Ravonna. Now, this is brainwashed Mobius. Brainwashed Mobius believed Ravonna could do the impossible while he couldn't. But Loki knows Ravonna's corruption.
Beneath Mobius's wisdom that "most purpose is more burden than glory" is also Mobius's heart: he could not prune children and that instinct was the right decision. His "failure" was not a failure of duty but rather his humanity succeeding despite the brainwashing. It's this same intrinsic compassion that drove Mobius to convince Ravonna to spare Loki. Loki articulates this to Don as such. He therefore takes the message of selflessness and sparing life from Mobius to Sylvie.
Tumblr media
Sylvie, in turn, challenges Loki, stating they should have the freedom and right to fight whatever comes on their own terms.
Tumblr media
She also stresses that it is all right to destroy things. Upon hearing this, Loki comes to the conclusion that what is destroyed must be replaced with something better. What needs to be destroyed? Not the TVA and the people in it (not Mobius, Verity, OB, and Casey), but the Loom.
Tumblr media
Loki sacrificed himself (selflessness + sparing life [Mobius]) in order to save all timelines (free will + revolution [Sylvie]). Loki sparing Sylvie's life is a direct consequence of Mobius having fought to spare his.
Through this sacrifice, Loki gifts Sylvie the chance to get the type of positive experiences she wants and needs, which includes future romance, if she so chooses. That is canon and is a genuinely romantic gesture regardless of anyone's interpretation of mutual reciprocation or lack thereof.
It is also canon that Loki loves Mobius and Mobius loves Loki. Their actions for one another across both seasons demonstrate this to be true. Is it also romantic? Absolutely. Is it sexual? On screen, no, and it doesn't have to be. Romance does not require sex, let alone physical contact, to exist.
Tumblr media
Loki loves them both.

kinda insane that we got a shot of loki looking at sylvie's frozen face right before we get lokius' goodbye and how it overlaps with mobius saying "what are you going to do" which is exactly the reason loki is there, to ask him about what they should do. if you compare that scene with original one it's legitimately insane how much has changed. how loki doesn't hesitate to ask for help and how mobius doesn't hesitate to give it to them. how open and vulnerable and defeated loki is, whereas in the original they're angry and manic and scared and trying very hard to hide it with their anger. how in s2 we have closer shots, creating a more intimate feel while in s1 there's a clear distance both within the shots and between them. s1 loki is guarded and have their arms crossed over their chest the whole conversation while s2 loki instantly relaxes their arms as they see mobius and gesture with their hands and remain open because it's mobius they're talking to, no matter what time. the miles of differences between the two scenes are truly is so telling of how much loki trusts mobius and how much he came to mean to them. also crazy to me that mobius was the only one they went out of their way to say goodbye to. like it's canon that while yes loki went for help to mobius they already knew what they had to do, they just needed the finally push from mobius and. they wanted to say goodbye. what the fuck.

Loki S2 Pre-E6 Thoughts
So I know that this is totally random content to give to y'all this morning, but I wanted to post up my thoughts about the series before its final episode airs tomorrow. I have, in the past, talked about my thoughts on S1 and how I really did like it until the last 5 minutes of Episode 6 and how out-of-nowhere-forced the Sylvie/Loki kiss felt (I was physically cringing about it).
Given how S1 ended, I was a bit wary about S2, but decided to watch it anyway, and holy hell I think Season Two is KNOCKING it out of the park. I'm loving it as much as I loved Moon Knight, and it's right up there now in my top 5. The episodes are SO cinematically beautiful, well written and flow nicely, the characters are all so charming, and the Mobius/Loki relationship is being built up so much that it COULD lead to more or canonization in the final episode. During the past 5 weeks, I've been lurking on the meta spaces for Loki on Twitter and Tumblr, and wow the nostalgia I feel for it, it SO reminds me of the hey-day of my Johnlock meta-ing before S4.
I think my only gripe right now with this season is that they wasted Sophia DiMartino... her character Sylvie feels like such a... filler character (like they just put her in there because she was in the first season and they didn't know what to do with her this season)? But I think ALSO she's meant to be a counter-mirror to Loki, to show that he ISN'T like her anymore, that he grew and changed for the better with the positive influences in his life, and unlike her he doesn't WANT to be alone and such. And they're REALLY making her so unlikeable this season for me... I'm glad that it's looking like they're pretty much not going the Sylvie/Loki route (and I honestly don't see how people who ship it think it will canonically turn around at this point), but the showrunners are having her have every interaction between her and Loki rather hostile, demoralizing, or toxic. And rather that, they're countering it by showing a more positive alternative for Loki with Mobius as his potential romantic partner. Which is fantastic because I've shipped Lokius since Mobius came on the screen in S1, LOL. I just think they could have done that in S2 without making Sylvie an unlikeable character (like have her be a cheerleader for them instead?) I dunno. It's a shame because I did like her in S1. Don't like her at all in S2. She's so MEAN to EVERYONE. To Mobius especially, like CHILL girl, let a man stress-eat, JEEZ.
And here's the rant I actually wanted to write this post about because I didn't want to clutter up other people's threads with it: So, every week, I usually watch breakdowns and review videos so I can understand the characters and their comic counter parts a bit better, and usually the breakdowns are really good because they show the nods to comic-canon things and such. But OMG these past two weeks, I had to stop watching the reviews because LITERALLY all of them ship Sylvie/Loki and are trying SO hard to prove that it's canon when the past few weeks it's only been more and more likely that it's not happening.
NONE of Big Name Reviewers (NRS and SC specifically, if ya know you know) acknowledged AT ALL the RIDICULOUS amount of romantic tropes and dopey staring that Episodes 4 and 5 had (Loki watches Mobius through a window the first time he finds him, and the second time before going to talk to Mobius again Loki LITERALLY groomed himself and then stutters like a lovesick teenager. It was very rom-com; and they're skirting around the fact that all the empty places in the TVA that Loki kept slipping to were ALL places that Loki tshared time with Mobius in... I CAN GO ON FOREVER HERE, AND AND AND that Loki is constantly panicking if he can't find Mobius). LIKE. NONE OF THE REVIEWERS, who literally break down all the episodes and point out shit like All That for het-ships, just won't acknowledge any of it!! They glossed over both Loki's and Sylvie's bisexuality confirmations in S1, and only briefly mentioned their genderfluidity in the comics and in actual mythology. I usually watch the breakdowns because I'm not familiar with comic lore so I find it interesting to learn about those backstories, as well as little details they find, but they've been dropping the ball ALL season, and EVERY one of them mention EVERY single breakdown that Loki just wants to get back to "his one true love Sylvie!!", like what are you smoking?!?!? I was getting SO FRUSTRATED because they skipped over LARGE chunks of E5, especially, just pointing out the surface level stuff instead. I literally turned it off after all that.
THAT ALL SAID, since episode one it's been clear that Sylvie wants NOTHING to do with Loki – she just wants to live a quiet simple life. Then when shit goes bad, she blames Loki for all the problems SHE caused, shits on Mobius every chance she gets, and then in that bar scene when Loki's bearing his soul to her, telling her that he wants his friends back and DOESN'T want to be alone, she basically is like "tough titties" and leaves him ALONE, showing she's not a friend at all.
But the reviewers literally just gloss over all of this. ANYWAY.
Ugh, sorry about that, that's been eating at me for like 3 weeks and last week's reviews finally just pissed me off so much because even casually watching the show I could see all this shit. I only REALLY started believing Lokius could happen after Episode 4 aired, and then Episode 5 had me reeling.
I am DYING to write meta about every episode as it comes out... I just feel that other people are writing better stuff than I could, and much faster than I have time for, and really it's nice to be on the reader side of things for a change. I just... don't want to add in my own two cents to their posts because I'd feel I'm intruding, is all.
I have lots of hope about where Episode 6 will go... like I'm feeling pretty good about them canonizing Lokius... However... I'm not gonna be disappointed if it doesn't get canonized simply because this is Disney and I am REALLY not thinking they're going to explore Loki's comic-canon genderfluidity and sexuality on a surface level.
Good thing I eat subtext for breakfast LOL. I lived through BBC Sherlock, hahah. BUT... can I get a third ship canonized in one year??? Is it wishful thinking? Oh, for sure. I hope so. I would be so happy if Disney even ACKNOWLEDGED that they love each other But I'm not expecting it. I'll be happy with another hug at least, or a forehead touch or hand holding. I'm a simple gal.
Honestly though, I do inevitably want the last episode to have Loki as the ruler with his friends, because they built up to this for 12 episodes, I DON'T want an unhappy ending for the sake of a twist or whatever. Truly let him be the Loki Who Remains (a callback to Episode One) as the Keeper of Time with Bea, O.B., Casey, and Mobius at his side <3
I LOVE the character development of Loki in this series, too. I legit didn't really care for Loki all that much in the MCU, but this series did the same to him for me that FatWS did to Bucky for me: Make me want to see MORE of them and their adventures with their new friends.
Anyway, thanks for reading and indulging me, I mostly just needed to get that rant out about reviewers and wtf people still think Sy!ki is happening. Feel free to discuss in the notes, I plan on posting a reblog with final thoughts after it airs on Thursday <3

had some fun on twitter today lol. a series stan came @ me with some of the above so i decided to compile them and other common genuine responses that i’ve seen to LOKI-series-critical meta and create a fun little game for y’all.
if you want to use this board go ahead, i’d appreciate a credit back this blog or my twitter @ulackconviction if you do use it, so i can follow your threads myself. just save the pic, mark which responses you’ve received from fans of the LOKI series, and reblog with your edited bingo card.
below i the cut will quote each one and my own response to each “argument”.
if you hate sylki then you are biphobic - no, i hate sylki for many reasons but alleged bisexuality is not one. how about, the toxic abuse dynamic sylvie sets up towards LOKI? let’s start there.
you don’t want your uwu emo boy LOKI to heal - incorrect. i’d love for him to finally get a chance to be heard and acknowledged, genuinely cared for and shown how to let go of his unresolved trauma. but that would require a compassionate person talking about it and showing it, none of which the series did.
it’s not incest they don’t have the same parents - they literally have the same father: laufey of jotunnheim.
it’s not self-cest that’s a made-up thing - well. hard to say really isn’t it? since the showrunners have both defined sylvie as “a LOKI” and as “not a LOKI” in the same breath. obviously it’s a fantasy concept, but people will have their opinions about that either way.
why don’t y’all just move on and shut up? - rude. why should we? LOKI is important to us and the series is hurtful and disappointing, and we will shut up when we feel like it. maybe never. cry about it.
if you don’t like it then don’t watch it - we like LOKI tho. and that’s who we were promised. that’s why we watched it. the damage is done.
y’all are just mad that lokius is not canon - lmao if there’s one thing to not be mad about in this shitshow, that would be it. mobius is just as toxic and abusive to LOKI as sylvie is, so it’s just as well.
LOKI is just a selfish villain - citations needed thanks. i’ll wait. not even the series managed to portray him that way so... good luck.
sylvie is not LOKI she’s her own person - ok... if she’s not LOKI why is she dressed like him? why does everyone in the series call her the superior LOKI variant? why was LOKI’s help enlisted in the first place to capture her? why does she say “we are the same person” to him?
sylvie is LOKI so genderfluid rep is on screen every time she is - wait what? she is LOKI now? hang on... i think i have whiplash. and more questions. also, an individual presenting and identifying consistently as a single binary gender throughout their entire appearance does not constitute genderfluidity representation.
mobius did not torture LOKI it was therapy - therapy. right. so physical violence, threats of further violence/death, repetitive physical brutality for the purposes of “softening up” the candidate (yes that can also be defined as torture), intimidation, and misrepresenting the truth for manipulative purposes (you killed your mother) is therapeutic. got it.
fluidphobia is not a real thing - genderfluid folks would disagree. let’s ask them?
go touch grass - one of my favourites, gotta say. for all you know i’m typing this on my phone while laying in a hay paddock lol.
misogynist, you obviously just hate women - again. the reasons i can’t stand sylvie are many and varied, and none of them have anything to do with her biology or gender. disliking one (1) woman because of her actions and personality is not logical grounds for such an accusation.
well tom loves the series so... - uh, good for him? i think tom loves tennis too... doesn’t mean i have to enjoy it, nor i suspect would he insist that it’s unreasonable for me not to do so. my brain is actually separated from tom’s by the entire molten core of a planet, so i can actually think my own thoughts about things.
LOKI is out of character in the series because he learned self love - okay so he learned self-love the instant he fell from the sky above that mongolian settlement? because that’s the moment when he ceased to resemble MCU LOKI in any way, shape, or form. hair, skin colour, mannerisms, personality, vocabulary, physical strength, intelligence, fighting ability, grace, wit, charm. wow. incredible. who knew it would be so easy? and who knew self-love would look so shitty?
LOKI is not out of character in the series compared to the films - um... actually he is, and it can easily be demonstrated with simple side-by-side comparisons of appearance, posture and body language, abilities, and speech patterns. see above.
LOKI is out of character in all the movies and now we see his real self - this is such incredible nonsense - it’s impossible for a character to be out of character in their seminal appearance(s). thor 2011 established LOKI’s character. this claim is right up there with “LOKI acts differently from the movies when he’s off camera.” um... what? hun, this is a movie. there is ONLY on-camera. there IS nothing else. are you confusing BTS footage of tom with LOKI?
series antis have no friends - one in a range of irrelevant and unsubstantiated personal attacks that series fans like to sprinkle into their arguments as if it somehow strengthens them, rather than revealing them to be three children in a trench coat hurling insults.
everything you think about LOKI is just a headcanon - no... the stuff that i know about him was told to me by the films, and by the writers and directors of the films, and by tom back when he was first engaged for the role. all of it is coherent and consistent. and that’s what i think about LOKI.
i’m not going to read/watch that! but you are wrong - incredible powers of deduction: to refuse to even engage with a piece of media or information and yet claim to know everything it contains, and be able to judge its accuracy. truly amazing.
LOKI isn’t going to fuck you - again, more absolute gold from a person who has literally run out of rebuttals. when you consider the barriers to such a liaison... crossing the boundaries of reality no less... lol imagine if this is how political debates were conducted in parliament or the senate. “the president/senator/prime minister/queen isn’t going to fuck you, you know!” lmaoooo.
LOKI is a narcissist to fall in love with himself - look up NPD, and then read this again. also, LOKI actually hates himself and goes along with others’ ridicule of him because his self-worth is literally in the gutter. he only likes sylvie because he describes her as being nothing like himself. he has no idea that he has any value.
your anti opinions are taking away my enjoyment - ok so... don’t read them? block me or mute me or whatever, and get on with your life? it’s not like you have any kind of past attachment to me like series-antis do with LOKI?
i never liked LOKI before the series anyhow - i mean that’s fine. but don’t even start trying to tell people who actually do know and love the original character, ANYTHING at all about him. don’t even start.
sylvie’s trauma is worse than LOKI’s - how do we even know? and why is that even relevant? how do you judge what damage a person has incurred by comparing it to some other different person with different experiences? fuck off with your trauma olympics. but since you made it a competition: LOKI wins. i care about him, i don’t care about sylvie. therefore his pain and opportunity for healing will always be more important to me. die mad about it.
even if the series hurt minorities, how many people even is that, tho - literally a remark one of my friends received when defending genderfluid folks on her blog. so apparently according to series fans, you actually can put a number on how much real-world suffering is okay for the sake of entertainment.
sylvie is not a narcissist to fall in love with herself - interesting, since in the show LOKI was explicitly labelled one for this exact reason. an “incredible seismic narcissist”, in fact. there wouldn’t be a serious double standard in play at all, would there?
no one cares what you think - well i have evidence to the contrary: both from people who agree with me letting me know; and from those who don’t being unable to resist coming at me and berating me for it. including the person who said this, ironically.
you just hate sylki cos you want to fuck your siblings - another incredible take by a series fan defending the canon ship. i really can’t follow their line of argument here... it’s unclear what message they want me to walk away with. surely if i hated the ship for incest reasons it would be because i DON’T want to fuck my siblings? (for the record, i do not). so that was a confusing one, but it was a real response, so it got included.

10 Thoughts About Loki Episode 1 (and Beyond)
Most of these are thoughts I had either 1., after watching the episode and therefore could not be included in the reactions post, or 2., during my second watch. Some are expansions of things I briefly touched on in my reactions that I've thought about more since watching but that I don't have enough to say about to make its own post.
Obviously, spoilers for 2x01.
Loki season 2 is going to be all about making sure we create all of the conditions that will allow for one moment (the end of episode 1) to occur perfectly and therefore save the lives of two main characters, which will require orchestrating the lives and decision-making of other characters (see below) within the series in order to bring this about. And I'm about to hate it so much. (Not the specific storyline, but the fact that time travel already confuses the fuck out of me. This premise could lend itself very easily to time loops and Groundhog Day-specific time loops, which are my absolute least favorite time travel tropes.)
One interesting part about this premise, though, is that it can (and should, but we'll see if the writers include it) lead to some interesting moral conversations about whether we have a right to manipulate other people's actions in order to shape them in a way that will benefit us in the future in order to bring something about correctly for something to occur. (In this case, getting Sylvie to agree to come back to the TVA in time to "help" Loki back to rescue Mobius and stop his time-slipping at the same time, when we see in the post-credits that she likely doesn't want to get mixed back up in this nonsense. She wants to live in a linear timeline, the way everyone else does, without worrying about being snatched away from her life again.)
The scene in the future right before Loki is pruned and saves Mobius is cut kind of weirdly to me. It makes me feel like how we would interpret that scene right now is not what is actually going on, and we will learn more about this scene as the season progresses (or in the finale). It was clearer to me on my second rewatch, but still kinda weird. How I interpreted it upon first watch wasn't even accurate. I thought Sylvie pruned him, but she's facing him and he was pruned from behind (I'm pretty sure). I wonder if himself or Mobius from the future found him and figured out what was going on. Maybe the three of them are looking for his past self in this scene and they know someone needs to get him back to episode 1 time, so whoever finds him in time can either give him the Timestick or prune him if he's past time.
I am a fool, and I am aware that I am a fool. But I'm choosing to still believe that we will get lokius this season. If for no other reason than Marvel has shown they don't have a fucking clue how queer identities work and don't care about doing research, and so will use it to be like "See? He's bisexual! He kissed a girl and then he kissed a boy!"
I'm calling it now, that boy at the counter in the McDonald's is Bill Cobb (the Third). (He already works at a diner in Broxton in the comics and falls in love with an Asgardian. Bill and this character are even both ginger! Bill's a little bulkier canonically, but that's neither here nor there.) I tried to see if I could read his name tag on both of my watches, because even with my first watch, my first thought was "Hey, I know you!" But I can't tell what it says. But if when Loki finds Sylvie and she hollers at "Bill" that she's going on her break, well, I told you so. Does he fall in love with Sylvie? Don't know, hope not, because I need her to kiss a girl in order to check off the Bingo square (I mean, I guess I don't actually know this character's pronouns yet, but Marvel's been a shit about trans characters so far, so I'm guessing this character uses he/him pronouns in canon.)
I am still in love with OB. I have come up with so many headcanons about him just off the top of my head. I won't state them all here but one is that he found out they kept wiping agents' memories, so he reverse engineered (I think that's the term) one of the devices they use for that and brought back all of his memories. But he likes doing what he does in the TVA, and no one comes down to see him so it never came up in conversation, so he's just never disclosed that he knows he's a variant. (I'm actually gonna talk about this theory more in a separate post because upon my second watch I THINK I'M RIGHT.)
I'm not sure we'll get it, but I want at some point in episode 2 for Mobius to question why they're immediately going after Sylvie. Like yeah, yeah, half the TVA is on her tail and she's important to Loki and she shouldn't be pruned again, but like B-15 is capable and the timeline is falling apart and we're not even really sure OB's plan worked yet, can't we take a breath first. And Loki just rounds on him and goes, She was in the future. She has to be there or I don't get back in time and you die. And Mobius just looks at him, and Loki's eyes are wide and wild and blazing with the same panic they were when he crash landed into the War Room from nowhere. And very quietly Mobius adds, "And so do you." There's a pause, and then Loki replies distractedly, "Right, yes, that, too. So can we go?" And this is the moment (or maybe another moment) where it just prods gently in Mobius's brain that Loki cares about him, might even feel the same.
Upon second viewing, Mobius doesn't just write "Skin", he writes "Skin?" The question mark makes it so much better! It changes from a lament to an internal debate, a debate he makes a decision on in the next moment. He chooses Loki.
Tumblr media
9. So evidently Sylvie's canonically not a vegetarian. She doesn't enjoy roadkill, but she says she wants something dead, so meat isn't off the table for her.
10. When we get Sylvie again, I think it would make a funny reprieve from the stress if the b-plot of the episode was Sylvie subtly trying to get Loki and Mobius together and Mobius subtly trying to get Loki and Sylvie together and Loki is just clueless and confused why his two best friends are acting weird as fuck. A sitcom episode. I hate sitcoms, but I want a sitcom episode. Already. Oh, dear.

I saw your tweet and I’m sorry you’re getting hate. I don’t ship enchantricks, just Sylki but I do follow you and I agree that people should stop posting about her being or becoming enchantress. I think it’s rude to hijack and honestly I don’t want her to be enchantress, I love her as her own unique character. She isn’t similar to Amora at all either. Sophia and the writers even said Sylvie is her own woman and won’t be any characters we’ve seen before. I’m not sure why people want her to be. All Sophia said is that she’s AN enchantress in terms of she can enchant, the same way Loki can or Wanda or Strange. But she’s isn’t THE enchantress as the character. Similar to a Loki but not Loki. Part of me wishes she wasn’t even a Loki at all.
I like sylvie, she isn’t my all time fave, that’s a small tier tbh, but I do like her. It made me kinda sad the whole “superior Loki” thing but that’s the writers being messy tbh, her character shouldn’t suffer for that. I rly liked her scene in the field and at the Ren fairs. (I still want to know what happened when she used all the grenades things in the roxxmart) Most of her Stan’s are cool cats.
Only thing that makes me a little iffy are when amora and sylvie are pitted against each other by both sides of the fandom. I don’t like the “I’m better than you” trope in anything. Esp amongst women who that’s a reoccurring and demeaning theme. Which I understand a bit more why amora stans might feel that way. I think it’s a nervous possessive thing bc the comic fandom is so small and having amora be a partial inspo for sylvie feels like we might lose her, if the writers have her take Amoras name. That doesn’t excuse it and I personally don’t think they will take her mantle next season either. I think Sophia seems to have input and knows her character and her motives. I also don’t think we will ever see amora in the MCU, but I don’t think that’s necessarily sylvies fault. They are v different so it’d be possible still, and amora doesn’t need to be Lokis love interest if she was introduced. I think if she was going to appear it wouldve be in LOVE and thunder. Or ragnarok bc she was scourges partner for long.
Idk I’m neutral on sylvie being a Loki, I don’t see the point of her being the only woman Loki tho, since Loki is gender-fluid and all. And also ur telling me of so many universes there only one woman, and that’s “scary” I felt a little like that’s misogyny disguised as being progressive girl boss. Again that’s on the writers not on sylvie, she’s done nothing wrong lol. I feel like the romance would’ve made me less uncomfortable without her being a Loki but I also don’t see the chemistry. Ok ok Ik so many ppl r gonna disagree but I don’t see it in lokius or dashingfrost either personally. Which is just my opinion doesn’t mean it’s right or wrong. Lastly Idk why ppl want her as the mcu’s enchantress, maybe they’re expecting her to be? I tend to fixate on what’s canon explicitly in canon so idk but I don’t see anything suggesting her to be so. I also like her as her own character, there isn’t rly a set of rules sylvie has to follow i think Sophia has it under control
Also thank you for following, I have no issues with sylki shippers, everyone is welcome here and I enjoy discussions a lot. It’s nice to get positive anons sometimes.

Marvel on the Big (and Small) Screen
2021 was the year Marvel tried its hand at television in a way we hadn’t really seen before. The first few episodes of WandaVision seemed a little dicey, but that silly sitcom eventually transformed into something lore-filled and foreboding that would pave the way for MCU TV shows and films to come. Speculation is Tumblr’s bread and butter, but the miniseries turned regular fans with theories and text posts into full-blown detectives. You knew Agnes was Agatha Harkness before she even knew herself, but you loved her anyway. She was Tumblr’s third favorite WandaVision character, right behind the titular characters. Pretty impressive for an ancient, morally grey sorceress.
The dust had barely settled before The Falcon and the Winter Soldier dropped. The return of Bucky lit Tumblr up in the way only James Buchanan Barnes can. This time, his Captain America was an entirely different man but no less a best friend or lover, depending on which Sambucky fics you’re reading. But Sam Wilson’s transition to his new role as the first Black Captain America wasn’t a smooth one. This series tackled a lot of real-world issues like racism and morality, but the discussion wasn’t limited to plot alone. When hatred for temporary Cap John Walker became real-world hatred for actor Wyatt Russell, fans took to the tags to combat the harassment, urging each other to remember that fiction is fiction. A text post by @thecinematicalgorithm says it best: John Walker is a good soldier, but Sam Wilson is a good man, and that’s why the shield was always meant to be his.
Then came Loki and his Nexus Event. Loki Laufeyson has and always will be an enigma, and his miniseries was no different. Anticipation started last December after we got our first glimpse of the series and it was so strong, the #loki series made its first appearance in Week in Review. In June, the first episode finally dropped, and the sleuthing began. You came together to decipher a very complicated title sequence and ponder the repercussions of tampering with time. The show’s impact is still rippling all around us, its effects already taking shape in upcoming Marvel projects. Chatter around Loki’s love life also grew to an all-time high, and the confirmation of bisexual Loki as canon was a huge win for us all. His affection for Mobius and Sylvie leaped off the screen and into chapters of fanfiction. Lokius went on to become the 6th most popular ship on Tumblr this year with a stunning 411% more engagements than Sylki. Loki ended this year as Tumblr’s favorite Marvel series with 78.8% more engagements than runner-up The Falcon and the Winter Soldier—it was so popular, in fact, that you made TOMBLR happen, calling the God of Mischief himself to answer your questions.
If Loki and the multiverse tore us apart, then Shang-Chi pieced us back together again. The release of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was an incredible piece of history we all got to be a part of, but important to none more than the Asian-American community. Fans felt seen—their family traditions and cultures were reflected on screen in a way we don’t often see in Hollywood. Shang-Chi also gave us our first taste of Tony Leung in American cinema after decades of legendary performances in Asia. But fans also noticed the film’s shortcomings. The English subtitles often failed to do the translations justice in situations where their actual sentiment held more meaning to native Mandarin speakers. Those conversations took shape in a really meaningful way and in high volume—Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings topped our Movies list three weeks in a row and would continue to be a major topic of discussion in the weeks following. Some of you even got the chance to ask Simu Liu about his own connections to the film and his character during his Answer Time—portraying a fully-fleshed out, three-dimensional Asian-American character straddling the line between two vastly different cultures is something he’s really proud of, and something that resonated with so many of us.
In an age of instant gratification, Marvel reminded a lot of us of how TV used to work and gave us something new to look forward to every week. They introduced an inclusive, new wave of childhood heroes and pushed the boundaries of your typical box office hit. In this post, we focused on the Marvel releases you engaged with the most here on Tumblr, but this is in no way an exhaustive list of the MCU timeline in 2021. You loved Black Widow—probably Yelena more than the rest—and reimagined the Marvel Universe each week with What If…? We can’t even begin to imagine what next year will bring, but we know we’re not ready.

Imma talk about Sylki *Loki Spoilers* *No Way Home Spoilers* *TW: selfcest and mention of incest*
It seems the Sylki discourse has returned due to a certain recently released movie, and uh...I'm kinda mad.
So, first things first, we live in a world where having any kind of relationship with an alternate version of yourself is most likely impossible. Meaning "selfcest"...isn't a real thing. Why are people getting so angry about it when it has no basis in reality? My argument here makes me a bit of a hypocrite, I suppose, cause I still have a big problem with Steve's time travel thing in Endgame, which also has no basis in reality, but I'm gonna keep going.
Firstly, I would like to point out that I have yet to see or hear of someone that makes the "selfcest" claim without also being a Lokius shipper, which...is kind of a problem for me? I get it, I shipped Loki and Mobius at first, up until Sylvie was introduced and I saw the romantic tension and the possibility for huge character growth for both parties, especially Loki. And it's fine to not agree with ships, and even discuss why you think certain ships don't work as well as others. But do you really have to villainize the shippers that are just trying to enjoy a piece of media? Just because your ship didn't become canon? Not to mention hating on the creators and even the actors that are working very hard to bring you a long-awaited and requested story, only for you to turn around and say "This doesn't live up to my very specific standards, therefore it is Bad." Shipping inspires discourse. I get it. But come on, at some point you gotta grow up a little and just move on when something doesn't go your way.
Next, I'd like to address something a little more sensitive. Something that bothers me quite a bit. In villainizing this (fictional) idea of selfcest, and using specifically that word, it kind of...compares selfcest to actual incest? This may not be the intention, but that's what it seems like to me. Which is kind of an issue for me, because people are taking this entirely fictional concept and equating it to a very real concept that is...not good. In doing so, though, it actually takes away from the seriousness of the actual real concept, which is probably not really a good thing. I may be the only person that feels this way, but...yeah.
Now for the No Way Home spoilers.
So, the three Peter Parkers are now considered brothers. But wait, I thought we established that Variants could have romantic feelings for each other? And now the feelings are familial? This doesn't make sense! Well guess what, different types of relationships exist. Not everyone will have the same feelings in the same situation. I mean, we saw it in Loki. Kid Loki and Gator Loki have a found family/best friend/pet relationship (and are, btw, of entirely different species), Boastful Loki has a purely self-serving relationship with all the other Loki Variants, President Loki has an authoratative relationship with some of the other Variants. It should also be noted that in declaring brotherhood, the Peters recognize that they are not, in fact, the same person. You wouldn't say that identical twins are the same person, would you? So if Loki and Sylvie are not, in fact, the same person in any way, shape, or form, genetically, physiologically, mentally or emotionally, except for their alleged place in the universe, why shouldn't they be allowed to have romantic feelings for each other?
I am personally quite fond of the whole self-love thing they've going on here, and the direct metaphor is kinda hilarious. Through Sylvie, Loki can finally understand how he actually affects those that care about him. In accepting Sylvie and all the other Loki Variants, he can finally accept himself and grow into the best version of himself.
Just be kind to each other about shipping. We're all just here to find pieces of ourselves in fiction, right? Maybe to escape this hell of a reality we live in? Might as well make it a comforting place to escape to.

An introduction to my blog:
My gamer tag is either SCP-953 or TheMorbidDoll, and my artist name is TheEccentricFox. So I am usually referred to as Morbid or Fox.
💚🤍🖤🤍💜
This is an anti-SessRin blog.
I don't support grooming or p*dophilia. If you see any of my posts marked with the SessRin tag, it's likely because someone wanted that anti post to show up and cause discourse in the tag.
This is an anti-Sylki blog.
The misrepresentation of queer is insulting and the insinuation of the incestuous ship supporting the queer notion is problematic. This ship is abusive and toxic towards Loki, and I'm not about that.
This is an anti-Lokius and anti-Frostmaster blog.
Lokius and Frostmaster are ships with abusers and their abusees—Loki being the victim—and I don't fly with that at all. As a survivor of such a relationship, no. Just no. I'm making this a point, so as to rebuke any homophobia accusations.
(For example, I'm fine with Hiei/Kurama pairing, I'm just unlikely to follow anyone else who likes it because yaoi fans tend to be zealous and fetishizing of their interests.)
If you support any of these, I will block you. If you follow me, I will check your blog out, and if I see support for any of these, it's an immediate block. (Primarily because shippers of these pairings are delusional, hateful, and toxic themselves.)
This extends to other fandoms that may have similar problematic pairings that I haven't listed. Though, if you give a follow, it's not guaranteed I will follow back though, seeing as I've had odd blogs follow me before. I follow when majority of your blog content is something I'm interested in, it's not personal if I don't follow back.
This is an anti-Thorki blog.
This is largely because Thorki is incest to me--which is gross--because I have a half brother, regular brother, stepbrother, and adopted brother, none of which I would EVER look at them that way (y'all are nasty).
This is an anti-Loki show and FatWS blog.
Both for reasons mentioned before, Bucky and Loki are abuse victims that haven't quite made it to survivor status because Disney/Marvel keeps shitting on them. And they're my favorite characters from this franchise.
Kurama and Shuichi Minamino are the same person, Kurama is not a being or voice in Shuichi's head! Shuichi is the human alias!
Kurama is the original, he was born a demon and gained enough renown to be known and titled as The Yōko. Youko/Yōko is NOT a name! And upon fleeing death, he astral projected right outta his og body and possessed a human fetus by kicking out the human soul. So he is a yōkai soul in possession of a human body that gradually adjusts to his yōki to regain the appearance of his former iteration. Stop this nonsense. I will literally block your blog, fanfic/fanart, whatever, I'm so tired of his misrepresentation and the fetishizing of the implication that situation has. It's really awful...
~
With nowhere else to put it, I greatly, greatly dislike Aerith Gainsborough, and it started with the original game (ask and I'll reveal). The remake has not endeared her to me, she's more annoying because she is pushy and doesn't take no for an answer (ignoring Cloud's lack of consent). And I'm tired of seeing "but it's canon!" Bitch, no it isn't. In the original games you get to CHOOSE who Cloud romances: Tifa, Aerith, or even Barret. In the remake, your dialogue options are still a favor system between Tifa and Aerith (Barret is now default if you score equally between the girls). But you still choose who tf Cloud gets with. Tifa being with Cloud is just as canon as Aerith. I'm also tired of seeing "but Cloud says mukae ni iku to Aerith!" That only happens IF you get the 1/3 resolution scene by scoring high enough with her. I didn't get that scene, I got Tifa. Know what's more cemented in canon? Aerith and Zack. Take it and go away.
~
Thanks for stopping by. May add more later depending on how things evolve.
My liking things are my bookmarks, sorry if that's off-putting; it means I haven't the energy to read it right then (ND), or it's something I wanna suggest/send to my friend, or I want my alt blog to reblog. Sorry for the bother!
~
Masterlist on Loki show negativity.
Also, this is a great masterlist on why I'm so against Taika Waititi, highlighting this and this, for these anons that keep bothering me...
It's just missing this tidbit o' info:
~
Also, to whoever the fuck tags pictures their favored ship when that ship is NOT featured in the art at all, you fucking suck!! Stop it!! ((I'm tired of seeing Loki art where. He. Is. By. Himself tagged Lokius, Sylki, and/or Thorki. I, and others, miss out on the art and artist because we have those problematic ships blocked. Like seriously I once saw kid Thor and kid Loki tagged as Thorki, like what the actual fuck....))

If lokius was actually made cannon, how do you think they would handle the issue of Mobius being human? Without the power of whatever realm the TVA exists in, he would age normally (for a human) again. I personally do think they would find a way to fix this, like giving Mobius the gift of “immortality” that the gods have, Loki giving up his own immortality, or making Mobius run a reformed version of the TVA.
Ps sorry if you’ve already answered this type of question before.
No, no, I’ve never been asked this before and it’s indeed an interesting question, so no need to apologize!
I think... if this were to be the case, Lokius became canon, it could either be
1.) Marvel purposefully ignored the issues and just had them be canon? Maybe they would mention something about it, like when Loki spoke to Thor about his relationship with Jane in TDW — ‘this day, the next, a hundred years. It’s nothing. It’s a heartbeat. You’ll never be ready’ — which, as heartbreaking as it would be, would be poetic, in some way, that Loki had what he’d said thrown back in his face. But then they’d never mention it again.
Or 2.) just like you said, they found a way to make Mobius immortal, (or maybe not immortal, because even Loki wasn’t immortal, he simply aged painfully slow when compared to humans) something that’d make him and Loki age the same. So that the difference in their lifespans would no longer be a problem. I’ve recently talked about how I thought it’d be super cool, if Mobius were to have himself exposed to something that granted him superpowers (like what happened to Carol Danvers that made her Captain Marvel) and I think, if Lokius were to be canon and his being only human were to play a role in their relationship, that would actually be a great way to deal with the issues. I mean hell, even if they’re not canon, having Mobius exposed to something that gave him superpowers would be brilliant in its own right.
And yeah, having him run a reformed version of the TVA would be a possibility, too. It’d make sense, and I think there’re good chances that this would be the case, even without Lokius being canon.
I don’t think they’d have Loki give up his immortality though, because that would equal him giving up his own title of a god and basically turning himself into human? Don’t get me wrong; I think, if this were to be the case, it would still be heartfelt and beautiful, that Loki knew love so deep that he gave up everything just for this one man. Though I think Marvel wouldn’t go with that path because it’d be, I don’t know how to say it, I wouldn’t say it’d be out of character, because it wasn’t, but like... if Loki were human, it’d feel like that would be the end of his story in the MCU? Which, honestly, I wouldn’t have a problem with that, because it’d still be a beautiful way to close his journey, him living a quiet, normal life, happily ever after with Mobius, not as a god but as a human with the love of his life by his side. It’d make me cry, yes, but it’d be tears of joy. Though I still don’t think that’d be the path Marvel would go?
So, in my opinions, I think it’d either be that Mobius being human wasn’t a big deal in their relationship, they would probably mention it once then never again, or they’d have Mobius age like Loki; either by giving him some sorts of superpowers or having him run a reformed version of the TVA.

Okay, this will be probably long and with many errors (my english isn´t very good) But I saw several posts here on Lokius tag, talking about this ship as result of gay fetish, and about non existing chemistry and  how this ship doesn´t make sense etc… And from what I understood there is tagged Lokius because of genuine interest to understand others point of view, so here is mine: I wil try to explain where my frustration comes from, and how I feel about Lokius, Sylkie, AND representation + some other things which I saw here somewhere. But first of all: I like Sylvie, I don´t hate sylkie shipers, and after so many years reading fan fictions, I don´t mind selfcest – I read weirder things. I have some issues with this ship (the mainlythe fact that it isn´t Lokius), but  this is not one of them. Also, I am not about to tell anyone, they shouldn´t ship sylkie.Ship whatever. And I LOVED the show as a whole.
I just want to defend my standpoint, that Lokius does make sense, people shipping it does make sense and whether it will happen or not, (I don´t have my hopes very high, and I learned to be very skeptical in this regard ) it is more than just about crack ship, or fetish. I´m honestly blown away that people are still surprised that this ship became a thing :D First of all, let´s look at some romantic story telling and tropes: I mean the way they introduced them in the first two episodes set the tone for all series and how the heck this isn´t romantic? Somehow there are all these romantic tropes existing in a show. They´re just there. Just chilling between Loki and Mobius and large portion of audience can´t even see them. (and some of those tropes were used for Sylki as well, so you could actually see them side by side)
For example: 1) traveling to the apocalypsis 2) breaking law/rules for the other 3) literally changing for the better thanks to the other 4) arguing like old married couple 5) saying secrets, personal things to the other 6) sharing glances, touches, visibly being happy around each other - in case of Loki happier then we´ve ever seen him before 7) being completely themselfs around each other 8) One knowing everything (even the worst) about other and still accepting him completely 9) teasing, being comfortable and domestic around each other 10) one being literally enthusiastic FAN of the other 11) Mobius defending Loki whenever he has a chance 12) Freaking amnesia trope that they pulled of in the end??? (It could be different Mobius, but point is he suddenly doesn´t know him - and Loki knows more, in contrast with the beggining) 13) the jealousy in ep4 14) Misunderstanding - when Mobius thought Loki betrayed him and Loki (thanks to Ravonna) thought Mobius betrayed him... 15) witnessing death of the other and being absolutely broken afterwards 16) The goodbye hug with romantic music in the backround 17) Saving life of the one (even when it means problems for the other ) - like Mobius saved Loki´s ass at least three times when he was trying to stop others from pruning him. 18) sharing deep conversations about meanings of life, freedom and how it would be fun to make some chaos and ride that fucking jet ski!!! 19) Inspiring the other 20) looking for each other (Mobius didn´t believe for a second, that Loki would die in the Void and the way how in the last minutes of the series Loki run through all places they were together when he was looking for Mobius... and I could go on. Point is, even if they are not planning to make Lokius canon, all these things are used on a daily basis to describe romance in media and they are used here. On top of that it´s just very poetic and cute, that this drama queen and powerful god of Asgard who looked down on people would find his match in someone, who is so quiet, ordinary on the first sight, and basically is just human from 90s, who loves jet skis. Mobius can´t even fight. But is highly inteligent and he also happen to be as good manipulator, such as Loki himself. - That´s why they work together so well. Mobius sees right through him and once Loki understands that, he drops his evil persona. Almost nobody expected to ship it for real. But story itself and chemistry between them just made it probably the most exciting duo in the whole MCU. And I mean it genuinely. Third episode, even though it was beautiful and Sophie was great in it (and is literally dipped in bisexual colors), is the least favorite for a reason. And that reason being, there is no interaction between Loki and Mobius whatsoever. Lot´s of people though that series slowed down a bit. Even when in fact there was more action, then when we watched Loki and Mobius working at the TVA.
(and let´s just talk about evil!Mobius narative for a bit and how some people say he is manipulative and toxic for Loki: show itself explore heavy themes and one of them is in Loki´s line: no one bad is ever truly bad and no one good is ever truly good. And as a theme in a fictional world, it is working as it should, for the  story. When Loki and Mobius meet, one of them just killed lots of innocent people and destroyed almost whole city. The other one is a part of fascist organization – and in the beginning of the series they both believe what they´re doing is right. They´re both bad, they´re both good, they´re both broken. And they are changing with the help of the other.) From all reactions I watched - and there was many of them, lots of people actually didn´t see dynamic between Loki and Sylvie as romantic in the third episode. So it´s not like Sylvie and Loki had unequivocally love story right from the start.
The only difference is that lots of people won´t see romantic tropes, when it comes to two men in a mainstream show – show that isn´t primarily about relationships and problems that queer people has to face. Because in super hero story and science fiction we have to warn audience, that they´re about to watch two man in love, right? At this point It´s just frustrating really. There were many M/M dynamics that used similar story line, as for example Lucifer, or X-files, or Bone collectors. -  But unlike those M/M pairings, no one was making fun of people for shipping main characters in these shows. But when it comes to two men suddenly you´ll see from all corners of the internet: “why can´t it be just platonic?” “There is not enough platonic relationships” “why can´t two man just be friends?” (They can and they almost ALWAYS are) and “if you think there something romantic between them, you´re delusional” “fetishist“ “And for god´s sake just let them be friends, Loki needs a friend more then....” oh wait, but Sylvie is allowed to kiss him. Sylvie doesn´t have to be just friend. (And I must say, that I love Sylvie, I liked most of the interactions between her and Loki and I think she is a great character ((I hope we learn more about her in the future)) it just doesn´t work for me as well as Loki´s dynamic with Mobius. Maybe partly because of chemistry between actors, partly because combination of characters and they´re personality and also because I had two whole episodes to fall in love with the pair before Sylvie was even introduced.)
First of all: people can be friends and then evolve into lovers. Not only it is common romantic trope, but it is also the most realistic one. And those relationships are usually strongest. second: If people want to see Loki in a platonic friendship so desperately, why can´t it be a woman for a change? They were acting like chaotic siblings for most of the episode three anyway. The age gap aspect is also very funny. Owen is only about 12 years older (That is not that much. But I imagine, some people would get uncomfortable. But If it was man and woman, most of them wouldn´t even blinked. But two men, that has to be somehow automatically son and father figure dynamic) And If you want to dive into age of an actual characters, then good luck with that in a series about gods, variants and time travel. Almost nobody cares about age gap between Lucifer and detective Decker, or Bella and Edward. On top of that, it was heavily implied, that Loki slept with older, silver haired guy in Ragnarok, so it´s not like he would have problem with that.
Different standards are projected in a way how we see romantic dynamics between fictional characters depends on what we are used to, how are we perceiving world around us, what we are expecting to see and ALSO, what we would like to see, that much is true.  When people are used to make no differences between heterosexual and homosexual pairing, then everything what happens to the characters is measured with the same meter. (Even though I experienced queerbaiting many times (( Once upon a time, Sherlock, Supernatural, Good Omens – the last one hopefully is not the case, but I guess we´ll see)) I also saw lots of lgbt shows like Queer as folks and Sense8.) And when we are not used to see it the same way, well… then it looks basically like that one comment under Castiel´s “I love you” scene on youtube, that said  “what a beautiful friendship”.
If we forget about all that chaotic mess behind the scenes (all those articles and contrary messages)  What is happening in a show between Loki and Mobius can be objectively considered romantic and what is happening between Loki and Sylvie in a series can be objectively considered platonic (until the kiss) and vice versa.  And then to see comments about how absurd it is to even think they have chemistry, and about gay fetish - it´s hard to swallow. I read posts about absurdity of a ship and how there is absolutely nothing that would suggests romance.  Well there is, actually. But whether creators are going to work with it or not, that´s something we can only speculate. They already made Loki officially bisexual. So why should it be so absurd to assume, that there is an actual possibility of romantic subplot between Loki and Mobius? Oh right… it´s Disney and Marvel we are talking about.
So on a subject of bisexuality: Bi people can date whoever they want.  But It is a little frustrating, when there is so many heterosexual pairings in the mcu and disney but when there is a promise of lgbt character (speaking of endgame) we get one line about date from a man we´ll never see again. And when there is a promise of lgbt representation you can´t even blink during movie, or you´ll miss it (Star wars, Beauty and the beast). And then Loki said “A bit of both, I suspect the same as you”. And I won´t lie, I was happy. And I think creators made biggest step yet with this one line (which is honestly terrible, that “a bit of both” coming from Loki of all people, is the biggest step forward.) But they played it VERY safe. Obviously, both Loki, and Sylvie are bisexuals, and in three episodes, we had Loki flirting with female flight attendant, Sylvie talking about her relationship with POSTMAN and then they fall for each other. So the only thing that suggests they are really as bi as Lamentis 1 is that little sentence, that can be edited out, or easily overheard. It´s the bare minimum. And I think that frustration with how freaking slowly we´re moving into some progress is understandable. From all those great M/M dynamics I talked about, those, that could make great love story, nothing happened, because too many people “don´t mind gays but don´t need to look at them” or are scared for their children. In 2021.
It is not a fetish to wish for a gay love story in superhero movies/series. (But anyway, I don´t think there is anything bad about it. Some men like to watch lesbian porn, some woman like to read gay porn. AO3 wouldn´t be were it is today, without people reading and writing slash :D – but that has little to do with what we actually see on tv)
I´m not delusional. As much, as I love these two characters together, I know how little chance it has.  I´m not delusional. I´m just in the future, old and tired, waiting hundreds of years for at least one of my OTP to finaly become a fucking canon.

hi! you do fantastic au's, can you give any advice about crafting them? I got my first au idea but I'm nervous about maintaining the characters and translating canon into another setting without losing the ship's magic.
Hello anon! First off, thank you so much, I'm so glad you enjoy my AUs! And secondly thank you for this awesome question, I had to think about it for a little bit but I think I've narrowed in on all my AU Secrets.™️ And by narrowed I mean not really narrow at all, this is gonna be a long one, because apparently I have a lot of Thoughts on AUs, lol. I'm not sure if you're a Lokius reader or Napollya reader or both, so I've used examples from both in this. With the caveat that this is all IMHO...
Strategy 1. First, the easiest way to pull off a successful AU is to drop your characters into a situation where they have the same essential dynamic as they do in canon. There is a reason so many of my Napollya AUs are rivals-to-lovers, especially Extremely Well-Matched Rivals, because that is such a fundamental part of their canon relationship. On the other hand, you certainly have an enemies-to-lovers dynamic with Lokius, but it's not a straightforward rivals thing, there are also aspects of Mobius becoming a mentor and/or being in a position of power. Obviously most AUs are interested in exploring that relationship beyond what happens in canon, but if the starting point is roughly the same, it's going to be easier for the relationship to 'feel' right.
But what about AUs where their dynamic is NOT fundamentally the same, you may ask? After all there are tons of AU situations that people might want to explore that don't fit that first strategy. It's totally possible to write an amazing AU that doesn't fit, just a little more difficult (imo) to make sure you capture the spark just right. Which leads us to...
(read the rest below the cut, because like I said, LONG)
Strategy 2a. Figure out what part of their dynamic you DO want to make sure to keep. Maybe it's the contrast of Loki's chaotic mischief to Mobius's down-to-earth orderliness, or Napoleon's disregard for the rules with Illya's good soldier who follows orders (until he doesn't). Similarly, you have always be thinking about how they relate to each other. To me, Mobius isn't Mobius unless he's Fondly Exasperated by Loki most of the time. Illya is going to be (often begrudgingly) impressed by Napoleon in some way, though how much he admits it to even himself depends on the rest of the setup. To me, the biggest "mistake" (in quotes because it's based on my opinions and preferences) I see people make in AUs is to lose sight of the smaller nuances how they relate to each other. Just because they fall in love doesn't mean that these dynamics are lost, even once they've admitted their feelings to themselves and/or each other.
Strategy 2b. I put these two together because they're sides of the same coin. You have to always keep in mind the fundamental nature of the character you're writing. It sounds obvious, because you have to do that for canon-set writing as well, but tends to be harder in AUs. It isn't enough to put in that Mobius likes jetskis or Illya is good at chess. Those are good details to include, but I will argue that they are not FUNDAMENTAL to those characters. You could write an entire Lokius AU and never mention jetskis, and you wouldn't lose anything from Mobius's character (I know, bold claim, but as I write this I realize I did just that to the tune of 80k...). If you rely on those things to "sell" your AU character, that character is gonna fall flat. You wanna know what I always repeat in my head whenever I'm writing Mobius, no matter what the fic? "Mobius isn't so bad. —Or so good." That's one of the major things I consider to be the fundamental underpinning to his entire character. Obviously I have a lot more thoughts and feelings about the character and what makes him tick, based on his actions in canon, but whenever I ask myself, when writing a story, WWMD? That's what I consider.
Strategy 3. Ok, this one is the one that you have to use WITH RESTRAINT. Weave little aspects of canon into the story. Individual lines, a play on a scene, details here and there. When deployed well, these are excellent and fun little moments that make your audience say, "I understood that reference!" It's easy to go overboard, though. Personally, I'm not usually interested in reading a canon scene re-created in exacting detail in an AU. Fics can get bogged down in too many canon references.  It's an AU, I want it to feel like one. As with the details about your characters, details of canon are nice to include, but you shouldn't rely on them to tell your audience who your characters are.
I think those are the biggest things I’m always thinking about when I’m creating an AU. I hope this was at least a little helpful! Best of luck with your AU, and if you’re not sure about something when writing, my last piece of advice is just try to strip everything else out of the scene and set it in canon instead, and ask yourself what the characters would do. You’ve got this, anon!
Thank you so much for the thought-provoking ask, obviously I like thinking about crafting AUs almost as much as I like writing and reading them. 😅

my issue with loki ending up with Sylvie is not that I don’t think he should end up w a woman, or even with the whole selfcest thing bc, I mean, it is loki. Tbh if they want to pair loki up with a woman I think there are ways to do that. My issue is that I simply don’t think he has any chemistry with sylvie, which makes me think that they didn’t do any chemistry and the romance was a shoehorned-in afterthought bc ppl kept demanding that there be. Romance in the loki show. I also just think sylvie’s aesthetic is bland, because I get the sense they are hesitant to make her look too much like loki to keep it from feeling weird. But like, if ur gonna go with a selfcest plot - just commit to it you know ! It makes no sense that Sylvie would want to look blonde in order to be different from our loki if she had no prior awareness of our loki. And also, I feel like she wouldn’t want to look blonde because then she would look related to Thor, and there’s no circumstance where that would make sense to me; no matter what loki would want to stand out from Thor, and the way he looks is reflects that.
anon how does it feel to be a mind reader?
i’m with you basically 100%. i think a well written romance between loki and a woman could be done beautifully, and it wouldn’t HAVE to involve selfcest. i have a distaste for selfcest bc it just seems like boring JO materials as opposed to an interesting relationship dynamic.
but yeah loki and sylvie have zero chemistry. it feels like it was intentional from the jump and not an afterthought because tom’s acting for loki and sylvie scenes really gives it away- he’s a great actor, and you can tell he played for romance, or at least he played it with loki having complicated and potentially romantic feelings for sylvie in mind. regardless, their chemistry is incredibly forced. sophia is a fantastic actress, but she’s given almost nothing to do. she has no emotional interest in loki and is only interested in taking his help in her quest to find answers, which isn’t a bad thing, just poorly written and lacks understanding of who the focus of the show is supposed to be on.
i agree a lot with the mention of her look and hair. her outfit is very loki inspired, which i like, and yea i dont get why she had to be blonde. my first thought was “well since she’s a frankenstein character of lady loki and sylvie the enchantress, the blonde hair must be inspired by the enchantress” but i’m with you. loki will always want to stand out from thor, and having the same hair color as him would probably bother her. they literally only gave her that hair color so sylvie looked different from loki, which you’re right, shows how confused the writers were when it came to the selfcest. they want to play with it but won’t commit to it, so it’s just fucking uncomfortable and horrible to sit through.
speaking of thor, the fact that sylvie hasn’t mentioned her thor AT ALL, even with him coming up in the show all the time. i think this is deliberate too, similar to the hair thing- they don’t want the audience to acknowledge that they share a brother, or else the audience would feel grossed out by the selfcest because it’s connecting them in a sibling like fashion. which, again, either do selfcest or don’t. i don’t want them to but the fact that they seem on the fence about it themselves is what makes it so much worse.
also has anyone else noticed that literally NOTHING plot wise has happened in the show since episode 2? like nothing has happened. just loki and mobius’s relationship, which i’m sad we didn’t get more of.
anyway, i love lokius and sylvie/B15. i wish sylvie had a character and personality instead of being a live action Y/N. i wish anything that involved the TVA made any sense at all. i wish they didn’t needlessly add that line where all the other loki’s are horrified at the prospect of a female loki, because loki’s are canonically genderfluid and they know this and have acknowledged it but are just ignoring it and are being transphobic by doing so. i’m glad to see loki whoring it up in the year of our lord 2021, though.
last but certainly not least, the way they treated boastful loki was racist. it just was. and the fandom is acting racist as fuck about it too, acting like boastful loki betraying the others to align w president loki is some irredeemable evil. they’re all LOKIS. they do that shit and it’s funny! i love you boastful loki!!! they literally used it as an excuse to write him out of the episode, and for what??? for WHAT??? all the characters of color are either villains and/or are treated like garbage (B15 locked up in her cell for helping sylvie and just being fucking left there).

He was back at the TVA.
Mobius!
He was about to rush to find him when he stopped abruptly.
Sylvie... the kiss...
Now that the adrenaline from the fight had worn off, thinking about the kiss gave him such a weird feeling.
He didn't know what had made her kiss him, if it was a desperate attempt to change his mind or if it had been to betray him.
He had not even answered the kiss, too shocked to react, and she had taken advantage of it to send him here, at the TVA through a Timedoor.
Mobius, he had to find Mobius. That was his only thought.
He ran through the hallways in a desperate manner. Everywhere there was turmoil.
He came to the archives, between the familiar shelves, and there he saw him, next to Hunter B-15, finally.
It was like coming home, the sight of the familiar face and stance giving him an unimaginable feeling of comfort, the impression that everything was going to be alright, that anything was possible despite the disaster.
Mobius seemed flustered and as Loki went on, he heard their conversation.
"That's, what, 63 new branches in this unit alone?"
"Does he want us to just let them all branch?"
"At this point, how are we gonna stop it?"
Loki shouted, "We can't!"
Mobius looked at him surprised, "What? What'd you say?"
Loki shouted back, "It's done, Mobius. We made a terrible mistake."
Loki wondered why Mobius didn't react, why he seemed so distant, as he asked him, "What's done?"
Loki answered hastily, "We freed the Timeline. We found him beyond the storm. A Citadel at the End of Time. He's terrifying. He planned everything. He's seen everything. He knows everything. It's complicated. Okay?"
Mobius replied, bewilderment on his face, "Right."
Loki continued, "But someone is coming. Countless different versions of a very dangerous person. And they're all set on war. We need to prepare."
Mobius tried to soothe him, but something wasn't right, "Take it easy. You're an analyst, right? What division are you from?"
"What? What are you talking about?"
It was Loki's turn not to understand as Mobius asked him, pressing, "Who are you? What's your name?" and that Hunter B-15 was calling for reinforcements, "Boots on the ground now. Archives."
To Loki's dismay, Mobius asked again, "Who are you?"
Loki felt the same pain break his heart as when Mobius had been disintegrated before his eyes. Panting, he slowly turned around and his eyes fell on the spot where the three timekeeper statues normally stood. Instead, there was a statue of the man, the demon, he didn't know what to call it, the one who was in the Void.
Loki understood.
It was not his TVA, it was not his Mobius. It wasn't him!
As the guards came towards him, he felt hope returning and the wheels of his brain turning at full speed, he had to find a way to get back to the TVA from the main timeline.
———————
Meanwhile, Mobius and Hunter B-15 watched the main timeline split into hundreds of timelines.
Mobius, more than a little worried, said aloud, "No turning back now."
Hunter B-15 replied, "Who said anything about turning back?"
"For all time."
"Always."
One sentence remained while the uncertainty was complete.
"Mobius! Mobius!"
Mobius turned at the call of his name. Casey was beckoning him over. He quickly rushed toward him.
"What?"
"You told me to tell you as soon as I had access to data about Loki! I found it! Because of the multiplication of timelines, we now have access to the Void's timeline. We can see what's going on there! Look at it! There he is! Loki is here!"
Mobius pulled up a chair and sat down next to Casey, his eyes focused on the screen, deaf to everything going on around him.
Sylvie and Loki seemed to be in a castle or building and across from them stood an unknown man who spoke, "Better hurry. Timeline's already branching."
Sylvie seemed to look surprisingly aggressive as she addressed him, "So, what are you suggesting? That we think about it. And what precisely is there to think about?"
Loki turned to her, looking almost imploring, "Weren't you listening to what he was saying? That's the gambit. Remove the dictator and what fills the void?"
The way the screen reflected the image, he couldn't see Sylvie's face, but he heard the animosity in her voice when she said, "Ah. You want the throne?"
Oh no...After all that Loki had done to become better, how could she say something like that?
Loki replied in an urging tone, "No, that's not it. No."
"I don't believe you." Sylvie's tone was unmistakable. Mobius, who knew Loki perfectly could read all the distress on his face as he tried to convince Sylvie.
"Sylvie, the universe is in the balance, everything we know to be true. Everything. I know the TVA has hurt us both. But what if by taking him out, we risk unleashing something even worse? All I'm suggesting is we just take a minute to think about it. I promise you from my heart this isn't about a throne."
Of course not! I always knew it. Only you didn't know it Loki, you thought that's all you could be, that that was your glorious purpose. I always knew you were capable of much greater things.
Sylvie insisted, " What was I thinking trusting you? Has this whole thing been a con?"
Mobius' heart broke for Loki who answered her, his voice clearly strained, "Really? That's what you think of me... after all this time? Sure. Why not? Evil Loki's master plan comes together. Well, you never trusted me, did you? What was the point? Can't you see? This is bigger than our experience."
Sylvie, completely unmoved by Loki's argument, answered him, "Why aren't we seeing this the same way?"
Loki replied, looking defeated, "Because you can't trust... and I can't be trusted."
Oh yes Loki. You can be trusted. I trust you with my life, without hesitation, without even thinking for a second. Don't you see that you are not the same as you were?
"Then I guess we're in a pickle."
After these words, Sylvie attacked him. On the screen it was impossible to follow the whole fight, but it was clear that Loki was only defending himself and refused to go on the offensive, until he magically placed himself between Sylvie and his target. Mobius saw with horror Sylvie's blade on Loki's throat. a.
"Stop. "I've been where you are. I've felt what you feel. Don't ask me how I know. All I know... is I don't wanna hurt you. I don't want a throne. I just…" Loki sighed deeply before continuing, "I just want you to be okay."
Sylvie lowered her arms and suddenly kissed him. Mobius' heart sank as the kiss dragged on and suddenly Sylvie stepped aside and said, softly, "But I'm not you." before pushing Loki through a Timedoor.
"Where is he? Casey, where is Loki now?"
Casey didn't have time to answer, as the screen blurred and Loki was back on the screen. This time the surroundings were much more familiar.
"It's the Time Theater!" shouted Hunter B-15.
Mobius started to run, arriving at the door, he opened it and called, "Loki!"
Nothing. The room was empty.
"Mobius! Mobius!" Hunter B-15 was coming running in, "You need to come back and see this! Right now!"
"What?!"
"Hurry up! Come on!"
He rushed up behind her and they reached Casey's office area again. Hunter B-15 showed him the screen.
Loki was walking the hallways of what appeared to be the TVA, the ones past the time theater, but Mobius knew that couldn't be the case, they had just passed through.
"Casey, are you sure this is happening now?"
"Yes, we're in real time!"
Loki was now in the archives, and seemed to be looking for someone, maybe him, Mobius, between the shelves.
"Mobius!"
Mobius gasped, in front of Loki a few shelves over were himself and Hunter B-15.
"What? How?!"
"Wait, wait, wait!"
On the screen, Loki continued to advance toward their duplicates, and they heard Mobius say, "That's, what, 63 new branches in this unit alone?"
Hunter B-15 answered, "Does he want us to just let them all branch?"
"At this point, how are we gonna stop it?"
Loki intervened, shouting, "We can't!"
Their two doubles looked at him in surprise.
As he watched Loki try to explain what was going on to the two stunned doubles, Mobius' brain began to race, trying to pick up clues from what he was hearing.
63 branches in this unit alone. 63 branches in this unit alone.
This unit alone. That means there are several. Think Mobius. Think!
He began to speak aloud, "The main timeline branched, that means there are a lot of timelines now, what if each timeline has now a TVA? Could it be that..."
On the screen he looked at Loki and asked, "Who are you?"
Loki, looking shocked, slowly turned around and began to breathe heavily before releasing a gasp, which Mobius and those around him in front of the screen repeated in echo.
Where the statues of the three timekeepers should be, there was a single statue, that of the man Loki and Sylvie were with before.
"Casey! keep looking, cross-reference the data, try to figure out what date it is, I need my Tempad!" Mobius ran to his office.
_____
Loki looked back at the one who was not his Mobius and did not answer, quickly assessing the danger, he had to find a way to find the TVA he knew, but first he had to escape since Hunter B-15 seemed to have called a squad to stop him. He concentrated, closed his eyes, and saw the room he wanted to teleport to, the one he had arrived in. He felt the suction, then reopened his eyes, he was there, the relief short lived, because it would not take them long to find him. Still, he summoned a spear to put across the door, to at least delay their arrival in the room.
Think about it Loki, you're not supposed to be here, but now that the timeline is branching, how can they find you? Everything is chaos...
Spinning around in the room, he sighed, wondering how the situation could have slipped away from them like that. In fact, he knew, they had never been in control of the situation, their enemy was ahead of them.
Sylvie... who had not hesitated to betray him while he for the first time had found a "glorious purpose" that was greater than him, in fact it had nothing more glorious, because he no longer needed glory, he had discovered that it was much more rewarding to fight for a cause greater than himself. But now...
Mobius... His Mobius, where was he? How to find him? Did he get through it? Had he been able to warn all the other agents? He missed him so much, his reassuring presence that had the power to calm him down. How he had developed such a strong bond in such a short time was something that still amazed Loki. In Mobius, he had found someone who had believed in him when he had only seen the worst Loki was capable of, who had seen beyond what Loki was showing the world.
He had told Sylvie that love was not real, but in the end...love had a name.
Mobius…
"Mobius...", lost in thought, he didn't realize he was saying his name out loud.
When suddenly the now familiar sound of a Timedoor opening made him turn around. Summoning his sword, he braced himself ready to attack.
The Timedoor was just forming, when he heard the door to the room trying to be forced open, as voices shouted at him to open it from the other side.
Suddenly a figure he knew well stepped through the time door, "Loki! It's me Mobius!"
Loki, suspicious, did not dare to let his guard down. What if it wasn't his Mobius? How could he be sure?
The man in front of him looked uncertain and did not move forward. He lowered his hands in surrender as the banging on the door grew louder and louder.
"Loki, it's me, Mobius, the real one."
"How can I be sure?"
"Ask me a question. Something only the two of us would know."
Loki began to think quickly, what question to ask? Then suddenly he knew.
Cheeks slightly flushed, he asked, "Where did our first kiss take place?"
Mobius shook his head and smiled fondly, "The elevator."
Refusing to give in to the relief that washed over him, Loki asked another question to be sure, "Why?"
Mobius sneered, "To shut you up."
"It is really you, my Mobius!" shouted Loki before rushing into his arms. Mobius closed them on him. In an instant they reconnected with the emotions and sensations of their last embrace. Once again Loki felt like he was home.
"Yes, it's me." The door rattled, interrupting them. Mobius let go of him, took his hand and pulling him behind him, he led him to the Timedoor saying, "Quick, let's get out of here first, the explanations will come later."
They rushed through the Time Door, which closed on them as the door to the room gave way to the guards.
It was odd because they ended up in the same room, but in the TVA that Loki knew, there was the table and chairs from the last interrogation before Mobius went to join Loki in the Timecell. It seemed like only yesterday that Mobius had refused to believe him, blinded by jealousy as he himself had said."
"You-"
" How-"
"You first," Loki told him.
"Come on, let's go sit down," Mobius told him. They did, but instead of being face to face, separated by the table as they had been every time they were in this room, Mobius slid his chair next to him.
After an awkward silence, Mobius began to speak, "So, you and Sylvie..." then he stopped, aware of what he had just said.
Loki raised his head, shocked. "You... you saw?" he didn't even give him time to answer, "Mobius! I swear I didn't mean to kiss her, I didn't even respond to the kiss, I don't even know why she kissed me, I've never felt that way about her, never, you know that, Mobius, it's you I love, I know we haven't really had time to talk about our relationship and I'm not the kind of person who can be trusted and I've lied in the past, but please, you have to believe me, I would never- Hmph"
Mobius had not let him finish and had crashed his lips against those of Loki. He kissed him in the same way as their first kiss in the elevator, the difference was that it was no longer their first kiss, it was a kiss of reunion, of familiar sensations, of shared intimacy.
When they separated to catch their breath, Mobius murmured, his lips against his, "This is really the best way to shut you up..." and laughed softly.
"Hey!" Loki pushed him gently. Then he got serious again, because he wanted to make sure Mobius believed him, "Mobius, I'm serious."
Mobius took his hand and replied, "I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that I didn't feel jealousy, I'm human after all, and seeing the man I love kiss another woman was pretty hard to watch. But I also chose to trust you, that means all the time and not just when it suits me. So if you tell me that kiss meant nothing to you, then I believe you."
This time it was Loki who barely let Mobius finish his sentence and who put his lips on his, settling astride Mobius' knees and putting his arms around his neck. This time, they took their time, the kiss was soft and slow, then they caught their breaths, their foreheads pressed one against the other, neither of them wanting to be separated more than by a few centimeters.
Suddenly Loki kissed Mobius again, this time forcefully, he was shaking, his hands clutching Mobius' back, holding him tightly. Mobius, feeling a wetness on his cheek, pushed him gently.
"Hey, hey easy Loki, it's okay, it's okay now."
Loki " I-I, I really thought I had lost you, when your double asked me who I was, I thought you had completely forgotten about me."
Mobius wiped away the tears with his thumbs, letting his hands linger on Loki's cheeks before kissing him gently. Then he cradled Loki's head on his chest, resting his chin on his head as he hugged him tightly, Loki's arms wrapping around him again.
"Never, you hear me, never will I forget you. And even if I did forget you, I'm sure you'd find a way to get my memory back."
They stayed like that for a few more moments, tasting the relief of having found each other again and of having once again overcome an obstacle. Together.
Then Loki came down from Mobius's lap and held out his hand to help him stand up.
"I guess there's a lot to do now that the timeline is branching out."
"Thanks for the reality check... but yes you're right, as nice as this interlude has been." replied Mobius, keeping Loki's hand in his.  Then he continued, walking towards the door, "Come on, it's time to introduce you as a member of the team."
At those words, Loki had a strange feeling, something like belonging, and asked with a smile, "What's the TVA's motto again, For all time...?"
"For all time. Always." answered Mobius.
Loki squeezed Mobius' hand as he continued to walk forward. When Mobius opened the door, he repeated softly, "For all time. Always. Together."
They didn't know what was going to happen, but one thing was certain now, they would face it. Together.

FYI-In no way am I calling out all shippers who ship the ships I will mention-just the militant ones who invade tags and harass people for not shipping their ship or who harass people for saying it’s not canon.
I’m getting really tired of all the stupid ship wars over the Loki show. I don’t care if you ship whatever you want but stop invading other peoples tags just to belittle what they ship . I can’t even filter them out because some you guys are invading the mainstream tags without even tagging it as ships. And just because your ship is the most popular doesn’t give you the right to harass people and to try to force them to say it’s canon. Newsflash-none of these ships are canon. Will they be? Possibly-though I don’t think so-especially since the head writer has already said that the most popular ship won’t be although it’s true that he could be lying. They are all controversial in some way-even though a queer relationship shouldn’t be; at least not for being queer. But guess what guys-not everybody sees chemistry of a romantic type among all these characters and I really wish some you all would stop acting like everyone is supposed to feel the way about it that you do.
Yeah some people ship some controversial and sometimes distasteful stuff-like self-love, incest and other weird shit has been available in many fandoms for some time. And no it doesn’t automatically mean people do it in real life. It’s also a pretty small corner of fandom-you’re literally giving it attention by even talking about it so much. You don’t have to like it but you do need to accept that it exists. I guarantee you there’s all kinds of stuff that’s a lot worse than what I just mentioned in many fandoms and it’s usually not that hard to ignore that part of fandom-especially on social media-just filter out the tags and don’t go looking for them. That some of you bitch about it but literally go looking for it in the tags says a lot. I see several people who do this who have no problem with rape, torture, clone f******, and even underage stuff in the fandom so quit moralizing. There are profiles that invade tags that go around talking about ships that they feel are morally wrong-dude seriously keep it on your profile all you want but quit invading tags. If you have a problem with stuff that’s “morally wrong” I hate to break it to you but it’s all over the world and all over fandom. And those of you complaining about incest type ships-how many of you were fine with Jamie and Cersei in Game of Thrones because it was canon? How many of you are fine with writing about the weird romantic situations Loki gets into in both the myths and the comics (more on the below).
On the other hand-those of you who ship controversial ships that the majority find distasteful need to understand that most mainstream fans aren’t going to like them. People don’t or at least aren’t supposed to do this stuff in the real world and if you want to write in in your corner of fandom that’s fine. But most people aren’t going to like it and you need to stay in your lane and tag your stuff and not say it’s canon. To be fair until recently most of you did do this.
People ship Loki with a lot of weird ships. We’re talking about the guy/girl who in the myths and some parts of the comics turned into a mare and gave birth to a horse! And who in both the comics and the myths has monster children. Who ate a witch’s heart and gave birth to monsters. Many of you are fine with this because it’s canonical in most media. I doubt you’d be okay with it in real life-or that you assume that everybody who writes fan fiction (and there’s a lot of it) about it is okay with it in real life. Some people literally ship him with the Tesseract (SpaceFrost). Some people ship him with his clones (LokiCest). Some people ship him with Tom (FrostPudding). Yeah sometimes it’s crack ships-but sometimes it isn’t. I quite enjoy the SpaceFrost one and find it amusing-as well as FrostPudding-is some asshole going to come after for me for that? They’re actually popular ships although people usually turn the Tesseract into a person. 😁
Personally, I don’t ship any of the new ships (I’d rather see Loki with someone who doesn’t threaten his life or automatically want something from him; I’m kind of worn out on the enemies to lovers thing) but I really don’t care as long as people aren’t trying to force it on me or force me to say it’s canon. This is literally FrostMaster all over again-which isn’t canon but because it was a popular ship you had militants trying to harass people who said it wasn’t canon. Not everybody ships Loki with an older man who is supposed to control him in some way. If you do that’s fine and if you don’t that’s fine too.
I know a lot of people don’t like the Thorki ship-but I’ll say one thing for those shippers-at least most of the time they stay in their lane, understand that many people don’t appreciate their ship, don’t harass people over it, and tag their stuff. Several of you could stand to learn to do the same. And FYI, even if your ship does become canon that still doesn’t give you the right to harass people who don’t ship it or ship other ships. I’ve seen people saying racist stuff to people who ship Loki and Casey, and Mobius and Renslayer. Like, these are tiny ships and you’re threatened by them?? Your ships are the majority-isn’t that enough? I’ve also seen the some people trying to say that if you don’t ship Lokius you’re homophobic. Of course while there are some asshole homo/biphobes-there’s plenty of other queer people and others who aren’t homo/biphobic and who don’t ship them and some of you need to get that through your heads and stop using our queer identity to prop up your ship. It’s not always about canon though-it’s usually about what’s most popular. Bruce and Natasha was actual canon and I remember people who shipped them getting all kinds of shit from people who shipped a much more popular ship.
In no way am I calling out all shippers who ship these ships-just the militant ones who invade tags and harass people for not shipping their ship or for saying it’s not canon. Y’all getting ridiculous over fictional characters. Seriously, mind your own business and stay in your lane and stop messing with mainstream tags while not including your specific ship tags. I don’t want to look through the Loki series tag and see shippers fighting without these posts being tagged appropriately. It comes across that there’s no reason for you to do this other than spite. You can also tag stuff as “x negative” or “x critical”.
TLDR: Militant shippers (and only those) please stop invading each other‘s tags and stop invading mainstream tags. Tag your stuff and stay in your lane. And remember none of your ships are canon (although that may change but even then don’t harass people) so stop trying to push people into saying they are. Also people are going to ship Loki with all kinds of weird ships- considering his history in both mythology and the comics. If you don’t like it then stay out of the tags and also those of you that ship these ships please tag your stuff. And don’t use things like racism and queerphobia to either support or disparage ships.
