💌Little Ashton was misunderstood a lot as a child. He never really liked the same things the other children liked, and he had this morbid curiosity with death and occult.
💌Of course, this undoubtedly scared his family, making him out to be some sort of psychopath.
💌This irked Ashton of course. He's just... That. He still loves his parents, and nothing would change that.
💌But the fact that they're so conservative that it's actually bringing Ashton down is what drove him over the edge to find a school far, far away from his family.
💌A small, quaint town, yet filled with teenagers. It was kind of a nightmare when Ashton found out, but he gritted his teeth and thought that maybe, with the current years, maybe they won't judge him. Maybe.
💌So, he indulged more in his Emo lifestyle. He religiously listened to green day, Panic! At the Disco, My Chemical Romance...
💌He even got into writing poems as a way to put out his feelings that he never got to tell other people.
💌 He's actually very sensitive with emotions and feelings. So technically, he should be a great friend candidate, right?
💌But once he got into the school year, that's when he knew, that his life would be living hell. Stereotypes left and right. Mean cheerleaders and jocks that ostracized his choice of clothing, snobby rich students that turn their noses on him just because he's not that rich, geeks and nerds that keeps getting in his way, thinking he's one of them.
💌"Fuck. Get me out of here. Nobody understands me."
💌He didn't realize himself, but he's also slowly being a stereotype. Always alone, writing poems, and being unnecessarily nihilistic.
💌Until of course, one day, you transfered. You, your pink rover, and your slutty little outfit.
💌God, just looking at you and your charming personality made Ashton hard fall for you.
💌He wants you. So bad.
💌So he dabbled back into the occults. He found an old book in an abandoned "witch's hut" that he went on a mad hunt for weeks. Apparently, the witch that lived there was a matchmaker witch, who gave love potions to those really desperate.
💌At first, Ashton didn't believe it. Especially that it involves sampaguita, a flower not native to his town. How did the witch even get the flowers?
💌But there he was, mixing and creating the potion under the moonlight and putting your hair and his in the pot. Creating a love potion that smelled like the sampaguitas he had to smuggle in.
💌He wrote you letters everyday, obsessing and hyper fixating on your allure and beauty. Confessing over and over again on paper that looks old and aged with writing that looks like it came from a fountain pen. With a spritz of the love potion, he would put it in your locker.
💌God, who knew that it would work?
💌Day by day, he watched you read the letters. At first, you were disgusted (much to his dismay) but slowly, you started to read the letters with a neutral face, then a smile, then with a squeal and then a desperate plea for him to come and fuck you already.
💌Maybe putting his... Semen on your love potion got you desperate for him carnally, rather than romantically.
💌But no fretting, he would just make you fall for him.
💌And as you moan and scream out his name as he pounds into your tight hole like the feral, fuck machine he is,
💌He was pleading to the moon to see his bleeding heart and bare soul to make you his.

(obviously 4.6 datamine of arle SQ and her voicelines; This Will Not Spoil Anything Abt The Main SQ Plot, i only discuss the relevant parts. also some p Heavy negativity towards fanon ooc at the start youve been warned dont @ me)
(i mean i didnt even read anything of the SQ but The scene w childe so idek the main plot of the quest rly either lmao. tho go at ur own risk if u wanna check the dialogue out; its the 2nd quest log but it does hint at the greater story)
TLDR: how i feel abt his appearance in a vaccuum? quite solid despite the briefness, actually. accounting for the way fanon is 100% likely going to be reading into this and turning it into the Lets Infantilize Ajax Even More 2024 championship? conflicted.
in other words; a certified labyrinth warriors moment - theyve expanded on childes character in a very interesting and quite a compelling way and while i Do like the potential in what im seeing from hoyos end theyve also done it so that its going to be misinterpreted to hell and back by fanon so i kinda have an immediate jaded love-hate moment going on JJWJDKJDKJWJDWKJ
its literally just labyrinth warriors flashbacks - that event has some of my ALL TIME favorite insights into who ajax is and how he views the world and himself but when the event came out all everyone cared abt was to warp it into baby boy stuck in scawwy paper boy dungeon dehumanizes himself by calling himself a weapon and doesnt love himself he is such a sad trauma meowkitten 🥺🥺so yeah
bc like lets look at this properly for a bit; okay he went back to fontaine to look for skirk still somewhat injured and waa waa my 286 month infant baby cannot Make decisions like that!!!!!11! which is to say. i am tired of him getting this shit every time.
is it smart of him to get on the move immediately with just the bare minimum of rest? no. do i like that hes straining himself before proper recovery? not particularly no. do i feel the particular need to psychoanalyze this grown man and feared warrior whos 100% survived Way Worse in Way More Extreme Situations for it? hell fucking no.
while not at all the course of action a medical professional would approve of. from childes POV its perfectly logical hes priorizing going back for skirk when its literally the FIRST TIME shes showed up in like. a Decade. when hes been looking for her all this time are you kidding me 😭😭😭 but fanon must keep fanoning for their widdle baby girl so what does a hater like me know

so it seems that theyre going for the pulcinella-is-shady-about-ajax (and prolly his family) angle for good and like. personally for me as long as the only real source of that claim was scara (a cynical edgelord who doesnt believe in non-exploitative human relationships, mind you) i was rather skeptical towards just instantly drawing that conclusion, but well. with the scene in arles AQ it appears to be sth theyre building towards
i actually really fucking loved that scene bc while theres outsider perspectives (scara obvi; and even arles line for him has that vibe. and ppl still take that shit face value 💀💀) and a lot of fandom assuming childes like. completely clueless and naive and ignorant towards the potential risks involved with trusting pulcinella. this is actually a very clever demonstration of quite the opposite? and showcasing how despite his aversion towards schemes and lies hes still intelligent and knows the kind of people hes dealing with when it comes to his fellow harbingers
like. childe has a negative opinion of arle based on what pulcinella has told him about her because at face value many of her deeds are in heavy conflict with his values of loyalty and family. and because he does not have the further context behind her actions and what the HotH under her is really like. Obviously hed hold a very hostile and wary view towards arlecchino
(ESPECIALLY when with all this biased intel hes still going to run into kids from the house!!! and then hes going wtf? these are good kids. what the hell is that knave doing with them??? blink twice if you need help i will start a civil war for yall like thats how he is with kids!!!!)
so YES. pulcinella has given him if not false then at least misleading intel based on the political tension between himself and arlecchino and the wider HotH. and childes taken that at face value! sure! he is close with pulcinella of course he would!
BUT. THEN. he returns to fontaine and seeks arlecchinos help looking for skirk. and observes her behavior and modus operandi for himself as well as the kids. does he go "nah she must be just hiding the crazy evil shit i would never distrust pulcinella" and leave it at that when reality doesnt completely match his expectations?
NO. because when offered the opportunity through the traveler asking about the HotH childe immediately capitalizes on the opportunity to prod for answers and see if pulcinella is lying to him!!!!
and hes so fucking smart with the way he does it too???? i LOVE his intelligence. the entire thing is so simple yet elegant; it Completely relies on his reputation as the kinda gullible harbinger whod Never scheme or hide Anything to indirectly affirm or deny his suspicions. he doesnt Need to Pretend to care about the possibility of arle betraying the kids bc he genuinely does!! and when she pushes back against the accusation he doesnt Need to fake admitting to her that well, actually, its all just rumors so he could be completely wrong. and so on. like he navigates the entire thing so effortlessly. and whats the end result?
childe has Confirmation of pulcinellas possible ulterior motives in action AND that arlecchino is a much more reliable ally than he initially assumed. all the while appearing as just The Straightforward 11th. like obviously id need to hear it voiced first to be sure but in text it v much gives the impression hes almost kinda just. playing up the threats towards arle and being "dumb" on Purpose?? to get the answers he wanted out of arle without appearing like hes fishing for anything particular. and i just hhhhhhhhhhh
i love when he does this so muchhhh!!!!!! 😭😭 he doesnt need to become some machiavellian schemer to be able to strategize !!!!!! he avoids scheming bc he Dislikes it not bc hes incapable of it like this has Always been the case Since Liyue AQ and i love whenever they show that side of himm . my Beloved
so anyway. while i do still think the like "pulcinella is bad and has his family hostage" is still kind of a generic plotline and i hope the writing regarding the whole thing wont ultimately turn out to be sth That simplified and black and white. its p clear theyre doing Something with pulcinellas motivations and as they are. im Really glad theyre letting it show that childes not just some completely passive party being manipulated in this all. he Is thinking abt this stuff and his position among the harbingers. ig we shall see where it goes - not the greatest fan of the concept still, but canon text supports it becoming a thing way more than when it was just scaras word we had for it. hope theyll surprise me positively w how they go about it!

also loved arle and childe just shittalking the rest of the harbingers it was amazing. i wasnt expecting this kinda dynamic between them at all but its great lmao. also i wanna see childe hang out w the HotH kids
as for project stuzha; so we dont really get anything solid on it other than being summoned back to snezhnaya for it is apparently a Big Deal. but still very interested. let my man have his endgame significance Trust
childes appearance was obviously v brief ultimately but that was clear from his leaked linecount to begin with - i am pretty satisfied with what they seem to have done w him. like its not The Best but also i wasnt expecting his lore to get some massive expansion in another harbingers SQ . the worst i feared was that it was just going to be a flashback of arle returning his vision which did Not happen so massive W. i am super hyped to hear this scene voice acted proper and happy to see him again, i really hope he gets to appear at least once more in an interlude or dains quest or something before going on hiatus again but idk if thats too much to ask LKKWJDJWDJWD

You were there with some friends and you immediately caught his eye.
Maybe it was your smile, your eyes or the way you talked to your friends that made his heart skip a beat
That, or the fact you and him made eye contact at least 4 times.
But because of his dangerous life and past relationship traumas, he let you slip through his fingers, to not drag you into his chaos.
Or so he thought at least.
Truth is, you felt a spark, too. There was something dangerous about him, but also something charming.
Curious as you were, you went to LPH more often, hoping to catch a glimpse of the mysterious man - eventually learning he’s the manager.
Gus of course noticed you being there more often. Ignoring you got harder.
One day you decided to shoot your shot - the same day he decided to strike a conversation with you.
You learned his name is Gustavo Fring.
There was something about his smile and way of talking that charmed you.
But he also seemed very reserved and troubled. He seemed afraid to answer your flirting and got really flustered from it.
Just as you were about to give up your flirting attempts, he surprised you by asking you out on a date.
Of course, you said yes.
Gus enjoys good food and luxury, so it was no surprise he took you to a 5-star restaurant for the first date - his treat.
Not having been on a “real date” in over a decade, Gus was a nervous wreck lmao
Luckily he is good at handling stress. You barely noticed the emotions he kept under the surface.
The date went really well. Gus is a good listener and listened to you in a way that was rare.
Even when you got a bit too nerdy about your interests, he listened with a smile.
But it did make you a bit concerned when he dodged questions about his own personal life.
He realized himself how weird that must've come across, getting anxious that you wouldn’t contact him again.
Luckily, you did.
Gus kept taking you on dates.
The more he got to know you, the harder he fell in love.
Actually - he figured he was in love already after the first kiss.
Once getting clarity in what he felt, he knew what he had to do - Telling you the truth about who he is.
The fear of losing you was big.
…But the fear of you staying, becoming part of his dangers - was bigger.
He explained to you how he had fallen in love with you, before dropping the bomb.
You were shocked, of course.
After some days of thinking about what he’d told you, you made a decision.
Upon telling him; Gus felt a wave of emotions: Confusion, happiness, relief but also anxiety. But he put all that aside.
Gus officially became your boyfriend and you couldn’t be more happy - neither could he.
All dangers aside - Gus does everything to be “boyfriend material” lol
His love language is touch, and words of affirmation.
He doesn’t let a day go by without telling you how much he loves you.
He always wants you close - just holding your hand makes him feel good.
He also likes spoiling you - expensive gifts, homemade dinners, road trips with him etc…
He basically spends all his spare-time with you.
You spend a lot of time in his house, with or without him.
He has money, enough to provide you safety.
Because of his enemies, and dangerous life, Gus gets very overprotective and a bit possessive.
Ngl he’d probably hire a bodyguard for you whenever you are away in another town with friends/family 😭 Or ask Mike to keep an eye on you lol
He’d be too paranoid to openly be in a relationship with you - but tell a few people he really trusted. If he could, he’d tell the whole world tho. He loves you and it frustrates him to not be able to tell people.
Gus is very good at reading people, so he often can see if something is wrong.
He’s a good listener and tries to always see things from your POV
He rarely gets mad at you either.
Most of the time he’s calm and understanding.
He tries to always be there for you, if not with advice, at least with support and to offer you comfort.
He also gives really good hugs 😌✨
Same goes for your interests/hobbies. He learns for example how to crochet, paint or whatever so you can make it a date.

Gus is not the type of person that likes indoor activities. Of course he appreciates movie nights, but I feel like he enjoys spending time outdoors.

You stood in the back of the room, leaning against the wall and wearing some sunglasses you dug out from your bag. Your arms were crossed and your face was neutral but, behind those dark frames you wore, your eyes darted back and forth between each person who sat in the chairs around the circle and to Amanda, the leader of this Al-Anon meeting.
Some were at ease, sharing freely and even throwing jokes in between their talks, while others sat stiffly and managed to get up on their shaky legs and share their own narratives.
But somehow, none of them judged one another.
Beside you stood your mom, gripping her purse straps so tightly that you could see the straps bending in her grip. She tapped her foot softly on the linoleum, smiling empathetically to each person and applauding politely when needed. But every once in a while, she would glance over at you and look away quickly, shoulder slumping and smile fading.
Your lips formed a line as you continued to look as neutral as possible, staring as the meeting started to get wrapped up. Amanda spoke to everyone, clasping her hands together before waving everyone off with a soft smile.
Everyone got up from their chairs, some joining one another to talk while others moved toward the door a couple feet away from you. They passed by you, most not really turning to you while a couple politely nodded and left.
But as the room started to get emptier and emptier, that scared-nauseous feeling came back in full force when your mother put a hand on your forearm and looked over at Amanda.
“You know, Natalie was the one who recommended me to take you to some Al-Anon meetings… but it was Carmy who told me to take you to one after you ran out…”
You glanced over at your mom, eyebrows furrowing.
“Why?”
Your question was both a rhetorical and actual one. Part of you was confused as to why Carmy was the one who spoke to your mom about the argument at The Beef earlier. Carmy was the person who didn’t bother to show up to Mikey’s funeral and refused to reach out to those who tried to contact him, so why would he even bother to care about you facing your own feelings about this situation?
But another part of you was touched.
Carmy was the kid brother who would follow you and Natalie around when you were in middle school. When you were in high school and started to date Mikey, Carmy was the kid that you would playfully bother when Mikey wasn’t giving you attention. As an adult, Carmy was your sense of peace whenever he was around, providing you with a much needed distraction during Berzatto family gatherings when he would finally open up (after much pestering on your part) about his own life away from Chicago. And while it seemed like that sense of peace was gone as he got farther and farther away from everyone, this news made you realize that it had never left.
He still wanted to give you that peace you desperately needed when it came to his family.
Your mom turned to look at you and gently reached up to take your sunglasses off. She looked into your eyes, seeing the way the bags under your eyes looked darker while you both stood in the corner of the room.
With a heavy sigh, she responded, “Carmy told me that he had just started to attend some meetings himself. Natalie told him over and over to go to some but he… he hadn’t gone until now. And when he heard the news that you came back, he jumped to tell me about taking you. Especially when he saw your erratic behavior, he knew you wouldn’t go unless we were the ones who took you.”
You looked away, arms falling to your sides.
“Please give it a try, please… you know that Mikey wouldn’t want you stressed out like this…”
Your chest tightened, “I… I don’t know what Mikey would’ve wanted anymore.”
Amanda called your name as she began walking over to you, making you quickly rub your eyes and look at her, “Hey you two, how are you feeling about possibly coming to a session?”
You shrugged and looked to the floor, “I’ll have to think about it but… I might.”
Amanda smiled and nodded, “I know this is a huge first step and I understand that you need time to think about it. Our next session will be in two days, you're free to join us if you would like to. And, you're free to bring someone for support.”
You nodded and glanced at your mom, seeing her smile at you from the corner of your eye.
You soon found yourself back in your car, packed haphazardly full of your stuff, and looking out of the passenger’s seat window.
You leaned your head onto the glass as your eyes looked out the window at the way the sky started to turn from blue to orange. By the time you got home, the sky was filled up with colors similar to the ones you saw while sitting on the hood of your car all those months ago.
The car slowly pulled into the driveway and standing on the sidewalk, with his hands in his pocket, was your dad. He waved and smiled sadly, making you sigh and look away. You could feel the way your cheeks began to burn and your chest tightened.
Silently, he approached the car and opened the trunk. You passed by him, watching him begin to start to unpack the trunk that held the boxes of your life, one by one.
The three of you, in silence, emptied the entirety of your car. Any of the boxes and other belongings you had previously kept there were now placed in your room, each getting a designated spot and most getting unpacked completely.
The way that everything just seemed to fall into place in your own childhood bedroom made you shiver and walk away as your parents continued organizing.
In the dark hallway, you paced. Your fingers busied themselves with picking the skin of your bottom lip, leaving it raw and sting whenever your tongue ran over it. It wasn’t until your parents came back out that you managed to get yourself to pause, ignoring the way it stung.
Your mom smiled sympathetically and passed you, placing her arm comfortingly on your shoulder. You dad though, he paused and let your mom get downstairs and away from the two of you before he spoke up, “Some habits are hard to break, I know that, but staying here for a while will be good for you, okay honey? I love you so much, we all do, and we want you to stay.”
Your eyes stung a bit, making you flutter your eyelids to stop any tears from forming, “Okay… I think… okay.”
Your dad wrapped his arms around you and hugged you. His arms squeezed around you, tight, as if you were going to fall into pieces if he didn’t hold onto you hard enough. You winced and he did so, but let him hold onto you.
“Your my little girl and I would,” He began to speak again, pausing as his voice cracked to clear his throat before continuing, “Your mother and I would never be the same if anything happened to you. We love you so much.”
“Love you too, Dad.”
As you watched him go down the dark hallway and down the stairs, you felt your lips sting as you began to taste a salty wetness. The decision was done: you would stay here for however long it took to heal and would attend the Al-Anon meetings in the meantime.
Now that this major decision was made, it was time for another.
“Time to fix my fuck up,” you mumbled to yourself.
Later that night, after you had dinner and began to unwind for the night, you went over and sat on your bed. After washing the day’s bad choices and tears down the drain, you had changed into something comfortable for bed. You hummed, feeling satisfied with the soft clothes you wore that you completely forgot you even had, thankfully your parents’ unpacking and organizing allowed you to find them easily and happily.
With an exhausted groan, your back hit the plush mattress. You bounced softly for a second before wiggling around to get comfortable before pulling the blankets onto your body. With a glance to the ceiling, you began to think.
You had messed up majorly with Carmy, Sugar, and Richie; well, with the entirety of The Beef. You knew that you definitely needed to apologize and try to make things right, especially considering that you would be staying here now and could run into them. You might be the type of person to flee in the face of trouble, but you knew that not apologizing would sour your relationship with them even more than it already is.
And while it was a bit overwhelming to be around them now, you did miss them.
Showing up and just apologizing en masse made you cringe a little. You knew that Carmy probably wouldn’t receive that well, he was stubborn and held onto anger so this wouldn’t just be an easy thing to forgive for him. Richie would be a bit hesitant to show vulnerability in front of everyone so the tough and funny guy act would be brought up, and that wouldn’t feel like you properly apologized to him. And Sugar… she would take your apology in a heartbeat but… you didn’t want her to. She was tough when she wanted to be but was always too kind with you. You didn’t just want this to be a forgive and forget moment for her, you wanted her to be upset with you and let you work on gaining her forgiveness.
“I can’t let her be a doormat…” you whispered to yourself.
But while you laid there, on the soft mattress of your childhood bedroom, the cocoon of blankets and fresh air that made it perfect to get all snuggled up started to work against you. The warm plushness made your thoughts get blurrier and your eyes droop and while your breathing got deeper and deeper, your body gave in to sleep.
You narrowed your eyes at the orange sun, letting yourself blink until your eyes got adjusted to the room. You then looked around and gasped when you realized where you were.
You were back in the kitchen of the place you and Mikey lived in together. The bright setting sun had come from the giant window of the kitchen, the window that overlooked the streets and had a view of the city, the exact window that made you and Mikey decide to rent this place in the first place.
Everything looked and felt hazey, half drowned in the warm yellow lighting of the sun. As you looked down at your hands, you saw them also overlaid with the sun, feeling warm and looking… healthy.
Someone started humming behind you, voice deep. You whipped your head around to see who it was and was faced with the back of a tall, broad man.
He wore a black shirt that stretched over his muscular body. As your eyes wandered up his form, you noticed the attractive and slightly messy dark hair that was on his head.
“Baby?”
Your heart stopped.
You began to stumble backward, gasping giant gulps of air as your eyes zeroed in on the man in front of you. Slowly, he began to turn around, and give you a good look of himself.
His dark brown eyes focused on you. His eyebrows creased together as he watched you reel back, almost falling to the floor.
“Baby, what’s wrong?”
You let out a strangled cry as he began to move forward, reaching his toned arm out to grab you. You froze, eyes trained on his large hand as it came closer and closer to your skin. You squeezed them shut, terrified.
His hand felt warm as it gently wrapped around your own.
You felt yourself being gently guided up and forward. The hand then let go of you and an arm wrapped around your body, resting the hand against the small of your back. Another hand wrapped around you on the opposite side and you were pulled close against a broad chest.
You could feel the way his relaxed heart was beating, unlike your own racing one.
“Mikey…” you whispered in a broken breath, eyes still clamped shut.
Your entire body was stiff as a board as you stood there, but it began to betray you and give in to the person in front of you.
“Look at me baby,” The voice said, rumbling but calm.
With a sharp inhale, you began to blink your eyes open. You looked at the face in front of you, your own eyes connecting to those dark eyes you missed so much.
“Mikey… is it really you?”
You felt a deep rumble in his chest, followed by the twinkling of his laugh. He threw his head back, letting his unruly hair flutter as he moved.
“Yes baby, it’s me. Who the hell else would it be?” He smiled at you, letting his eyes half lid as he looked at you.
“But… but you…” you began, but were quickly interrupted.
“Come here babydoll, come try this for me.”
He moved away from you and ushered you forward with one arm, but regardless, you had no choice as the other arm that was still wrapped around your waist pulled you close into his side. Your body slotted against him, as if the missing piece to his puzzle.
You watched as Mikey dipped a finger into the giant pot of sauce that was bubbling on the stove and you slowly began to smell the scent of roasted garlic and fresh basil, straight from the pot you had growing on the windowsill.
He gently blew on his finger as steam rose from the sauce, he slowly brought it up to your lips, pausing just before he would touch them to look at you in the eyes again.
“Go on baby, try it and tell me what you think.”
You gulped and parted your lips. Leaning forward, your mouth encased his finger. As your tongue hit the sauce, your eyes shot wide open.
A multitude of flavors exploded in your mouth, all so familiar. That made your knees buckle.
With a laugh, Mikey caught you before you went down, taking his finger from your mouth and wrapping both arms around you again. He carefully lifted you up and placed you on the empty kitchen island to sit.
“Was it that good? How come you don’t react like that every other time I make it, hmm?” Teasingly, he smirked at you and turned away to wash his hands.
But all you could do was sit there, stone cold, and in shock. No matter how many times you swallowed, the taste of fresh sauce with a ton of garlic, basil, and San Marzano tomatoes would still linger on your tongue. A sauce that Mikey would make, claiming to be a recipe that only he could make perfectly, for family spaghetti night.
His voice interrupted your thoughts, bringing you back to where you sat, “Do you think it needs anything? I wanna make sure it’s perfect before Carmy, Sugar, and Richie get here.”
You coughed and shook your head rapidly, unsure what to do but along with it, “Yea it’s, it’s perfect, my love.”
You paused, eyes wide again. A slip of the tongue. You hadn’t said “my love” for such a long time that it felt foreign coming from your mouth, despite it being a nickname you commonly used for Mikey.
But Mikey either didn’t seem to notice or didn’t seem to care when you said that. He just beamed and turned back around to stir the pot for a second.
As you gathered yourself on that counter, you looked around again. Everything was… everything was exactly like how you left it. The pots and pans were in their usual spots, the curtains were drawn just the way you liked them, and every framed photo in the house showed you and Mikey, grinning and holding onto one another.
You were home.
But you knew you weren’t supposed to be here.
“Give me a second babydoll, i’ll be right back.”
Your head whipped around to look at Mikey as he stood in front of you. He smiled and reached over, kissing your temple, before walking off in the direction of the bathroom with a hand in his pocket.
Once he disappeared, you immediately threw yourself off the kitchen island.
Your hands immediately went to the back of your neck, holding onto it as your eyes raced over everything.
“What the fuck am i doing here?!”
Everything around you was perfectly in place, as if untouched by time.
The world around you spun as you threw your body around, desperately trying to find something that would prove that something was wrong. But alas, everything seemed okay.
You were too terrified to open any drawers or touch anything, so all you could do was hyperventilate and turn around over and over and over, scanning the walls to see the photographs you knew you buried under boxes and decorations you tried but failed to throw out.
Suddenly a phone began to ring.
You froze.
There was no phone in the kitchen, nor the living room, or anywhere else in the house. But there was a phone whose ringing sounded exactly like this one’s; the phone in your parent’s house.
It was an analog, rotary style phone that rested on a table in the hallway of your parent’s house. This hallway led the front door to the living room and had picture frames of you and your family throughout the years. Next to the table with this phone was a small, single sofa chair/
A chill went down your spine as tears began to sting your eyes.
This was the phone you found out about Mikey’s death. And that chair was the one you collapsed on before screaming.
The ringing stopped. Then, Mikey’s voice echoed from the other room, calling you.
Hesitantly, you turned to the direction you heard his voice.
He called your name again, but this time, he beckoned you over.
“Come here for a second baby!”
You stared at the empty doorway where you watched him leave. From that direction, his voice called your name out again.
As your foot slowly inched forward, you held your breath.
“I just need you real quick, come over here!”
Your footsteps were silent as you stepped forward, closer to the sound of his voice and to the doorway that led from your kitchen and dining room to the hall.
His voice got louder and louder as you slowly rounded the doorway, continuing to call you.
Down the hall and in front of you was the bathroom door, wide open. There stood Mikey, back towards you, standing in the dimly lit hallway and dark bathroom.
Now, he was silent and still.
With a quiet and shaky voice, you managed to whisper out, “Mikey?”
You heard a click coming from him, coming from his hand. When you looked down, you saw metal.
“I'm sorry babydoll.”
Your body jerked up with a strangled cry. You ripped the blankets from your body and threw yourself out of bed, falling straight to the floor with a loud thud.
Your knees ached and your palms did too as you hit the floor, but you didn’t care. In that moment, all you could think about was what you saw. All you could think about was the shine of the metal.
As a loud cry escaped your shaking body, your door swung open to reveal your alarmed parents. They called your name, rushing forward to hold you as you sobbed and screamed only for their alarmed questions weren’t heard as you continued to see the glint of the metal, despite it not being there.

in other words, heres a list of twst characters and what kind of lives they would have in project moon the City! im set on most of these but would love feedback on what other people think 🥰🥰🥰 more under cut because good lord. still need to think of the districts they all live in 😭
HEARTSLABYUL
the Adeuce duo dont realize it but they end up working at the same Allas workshop and often get into trouble despite Deuce trying to be a good employee and make his mom happy:( Ace says fuck that. glove with the power of a small tornado to face
Trey being a baker in district K but unfortunately gets caught up in more syndicate business than he would like to admit (he still lives a normal ordinary life he promises)
Cater being a plain office worker in and hates his job but god damnit if he isnt gonna act like he looooves it!! he often gets called up often by Seven assoc. members because hes got connections to get info quick. also once did a totally legal experiment for a totally not shady organization where he was promised money but instead just snuck out with four clones of himself that all live in a friends like scenario in his (their??) apartment but would kill each other if it comes down to it. how the Head hasnt found out yet boggles him every day
Riddle being a super strict office manager thats studying to become a judge (weird ties with a syndicate?? at the very least knows azul)
SAVANNACLAW
Leona being the second son of a super important family that runs a huge company but hating constantly being in second so he runs away and starts his own syndicate (NAME PENDING idk if i just want to call it savannaclaw that seems…lazy). everyone in his syndicate all get metal prosthetics to make them look like animals. leona ofc has his own lion ears and legs.
Ruggie being part of a very poor family in the backstreets and having to do everything to survive including eating corpses on the streets before the sweepers can get to them. worked at Pierre’s Bistro for a bit before he quit and joined Leona’s syndicate because it seemed more stable. if he hadnt found Leona’s syndicate and made a somewhat better life for himself, he mightve gotten kidnapped by a sweeper and turned into one himself. he tries not to think about it
Jack coming from the same district as Vil but hearing about Leona’s syndicate and more specifically Leona—thinking that this guy is super cool and strong to take others under his wing!! he joins the syndicate and slowly realizes that this kinda fucking sucks
OCTAVINELLE
Azul and the tweels running a restaurant called the Mostro Lounge but it’s actually just a front covering the fact that it’s often used as neutral grounds between different syndicates for deal making. along with that, the three take on jobs like they do in game and all have hidden prosthetics that let them turn into their merforms at will. Azul doesnt like using it often because it makes him kinda clanky
SCARABIA
Kalim being one of many heirs to either a huge company or like an actual ruling family (districts similar to district S im looking at you) and having not yet been exposed to all the horrors of the City yet
Jamil being a butler sworn to Kalim ever since birth. he has some sorta equipment on his legs that emits smoke to temporarily blind his opponents along with typical butler equipment
POMEFIORE
Epel being a (begrudgingly) recent Cinq assoc. fixer who actually finds the dueling aspect pretty fun. he doesnt like how Vil gets him to act cute afterwards even when theres literally blood on his clothes
Rook being a Shi assoc. fixer originally but joining Cinq assoc. when he sees Vil his beauty his grace his Roi du Poison his most precious wecious pookie be—
Vil being a director of a sub section for Cinq assoc. along with being a fashion model. a guilty pleasure he often indulges himself in is being a hero—the last one on the stage—as he wins another duel for the day
IGNIHYDE
Ortho being a robot built in his image after he died right after White Nights and Dark Days. one of his core parts is a memory chip with all his memories locked into it using Jcorp tech
Idia being the heir to a company called Tartaros—its original purpose just being viewing over workshops and making their own specialized equipment. now its purpose is to gather any rogue abnormalities and lock them up to be studied
DIASOMNIA
Silver and Sebek being Claws in (suspended) training that work as Malleus’ bodyguards. they both have the Claw arms but only have access to one serum each—Sebek with a serum that makes him lightning fast and Silver with a serum that stores and multiplies his power every time he falls asleep
Lilia being a bloodfiend that was captured by the Head and has been serving as their one man army ever since. hes been semi retired to act as Malleus’ caretaker and constantly uses tech to make his bloodfiend traits less noticable

sorry I hate to do this and you don't have to publish this at all!! but I just wanted to let you know that i study sports science at university 🤓 and as far as I can see pyry is one of the best driver coaches on the grid! i saw in the post that you linked in response to another anon the other day and the op of that actually answered a follow up question about it and provided more details on her concerns. the "pseudoscience experiments and gear" turns out to be really normal and common stuff that's common across the elite athlete coaching industry. it's not been around for long, but it definitely isn't harmful to the athlete in any way.
personally i think it's really good that pyry is engaged enough to keep up with emerging science and tech! the betting on pierre's weight thing was new to me and I was really surprised by it because I follow pyry quite closely! but if it is accurate, then that's definitely bad form and I can't defend it (even if it's a joke between friends!) but the other stuff really isn't bad or at all harmful.
one day I want to be a professional coach 🤞 so I follow this stuff pretty closely and as far as has been made public (except the betting) pyry seems like one of the best on the grid! I really look up to him and his approach a lot! please don't post this if it'll cause tension with your mutual who doesn't like him i just wanted to let you know! 💞

Summer of last year ago I wrote an oc very similar to city boy inspired by both my religious experiences w genus loci & dark knight/dark city, & now dc is writing both city boy & old school barbathos and sometimes I wonder if someone from editorial was reading my headcanons blog and stole them bc it's toooo similar... fucks w my head a lot actually. the city boy comics are, and i mean it, SO good. greg pak and minkyu jung did phenomenally honestly! i Really want cameron to have a solo :) hes got a really intriguing backstory and i enjoy that hes sort of morally neutral. very much "not nice, but kind" personality, where hes pragmatic but wants to be nicer despite internalizing that hes inherently bad. hes also just had. really fun dynamics with other established characters so far! nightwing, clark, and swamp thing :)
he first shows up in a short story in the wildstorm 30th anniversary special, then gets an introductory teaser one shot in lazarus planet: legends reborn. his mini has 5 (of 6) issues out rn!! i would recommend his stuff bc ultimately its very short and i think that its important to show support for the creators :]
to cite a friends experience who recently read the mini: if youve sort of lost faith in dc's storytelling in modern comics, give city boy 2023 a try :)

DEFINITELY CHECKING OUT THE MOVIE WHEN I GET THE CHANCE... very intrigued about how it does things differently and of course the Snap Seal Of Approval means a great deal to me...
Kase is SUCH a bitch in the anime and manga perhaps especially Because he did have potential as a voice of reason but he's just being a hypocrite and abusing his knowledge of the situation; he's able to justify it only because he's Not Forty-Five Which Would Be Creepy But Twenty-One Is Fine Dude Trust Me which... is pretty real NGL guys like that do exist... in the same vein, on one hand I do want him to face some sort of consequence, but on the other hand I guess it's also pretty real for him to be able to get away with it. I Guess.
If nothing else I do really appreciate that episode for the contrasts between how Kase and Kondo act on [basically] the same "date," and how Akira reacts. Like OBVIOUS what the message of the ep is given Akira's thing with the pamphlets but let me cook... 'Cause Kase is conventionally attractive, he's not [as far] out of her age range [although he's still DECIDEDLY out of it], and a lot of girls who don't know any better would be thrilled to be pursued by a "cool mature guy" like him, but Akira cannot stand any of it. But with Kondo, the complete opposite, who is totally unattainable, she feels safe and comfortable.
Even so, she re-enacts Kase's behaviors on her "date" with Kondo, because that's what she knows and kids mimic the adults in their lives whether they know it or not, and it's largely by her own self-restraint that she doesn't go in for that kiss at the end and things don't end as badly as they could... MANY thoughts... head full...
BUT YEAH. NO. YEAH. The last couple eps go SO hard and for WHATTTTT 😭😭😭😭😭Haruka and Akira got me so fucked up... Haruka winning that black cat for her coinciding with Akira starting to back off from Kondo and rekindle things with Haruka instead... the rumor WAS real... uuuuugggggghhhhhhhhhhh
And CHIHIRO MY FRIEND CHIHIRO good god spending the whole fucking show thinking Kondo was just reminded of his wife or some girl-who-got-away by Akira... and then he picks up the book and It's No Help because Chihiro is a gender neutral name... AND THEN TURNS OUT IT'S HIS BOY BEST FRIEND REPRESENTING HIS YOUTH AND HIS PASSIONS AND IT'S ALL IN PARALLEL TO HARUKA AND AKIRA UUUUUGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

AH BUT YEAH i appreciate kase for what he does as a narrative device and as a character in THAT regard i really like him: serving as a cautionary reality for people like tachibana who could be taken advantage of if around the wrong people while he simultaneously acts as though he knows what's best for her (and again, he has a point in her and kondo's age difference being egregious, but he's not exactly sailing on smooth waters either). with that in mind i appreciate that aspect of him didn't overstay it's welcome (for multiple reasons of course LMAO)
NOOO BUT HARUKA AND TACHIBANA'S RELATIONSHIP MENDING BY THE END THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING TOO especially when they showed off haruka had her lil cat bro hanging on her bag.. and it was that hot-pink color to balance out the black one tachibana had (very kuromi/melody core if you ask me).... it really was super sweet that kondo and haruka got to mend their past relationships by the end of the anime like AAA it was SOOO good the build up and execution and eveything.. and i LOVE how the anime ends with the implication kondo and tachibana will start to really work on their aspirations- i always like those endings more than the ones where we see them already succeeding (❁´◡`❁)
AND YEYEYE THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT THE BUSINESS WITH CHIHIRO WAS GONNA BE TOO !!!!! IT WAS DEFINITELY INTENTIONAL ME THINKS LIKE ugh... AtR is masterful as all hell for everything it does i truly loved it a lot...

more cars are being burned and more people are getting beaten up
he was just super upset and he needed a way to vent
that was when he heard the doorbell ring
opening the door, he sees a huge box, he cocks his head to the side, confused as to what it was
and when you popped out, yelling "Hey! OPP!"
his mouth was hung open, he couldn't believe that you're there right in front of him when you're dead
"y/n..? is that really you..?"
"yeah! it's me kei! i died for a moment and i was brought back to life!"
baji immediately brings you into a bone crushing hug
he lightly sniffles
after a while though, he comes to realisation that you had been revived and you didn't bother telling him
he gets pissed, tackling you to the ground
"the fuck, why didn't you tell me anything about you coming back to life????"
"i wanted to surprise you kei..."
he shuts his mouth, he really wants to be angry at you but after hearing that, his anger slowly dies down
he sighs before flicking your forehead
"don't scare me like that. i really thought you died."
"i'm sorry kei, but.. you were really affected by it huh."
"what do you mean?"
"i saw the news... the amount of cars burnt and people getting hurt.."
that's when his cheeks had a slight pinkish tint to them
the poor boy was embarrassed
he slowly gets up and walks back into the house
leaving you on the floor outside
you banged on his door to let you in but poor baji is trying to recover from the embarrassment of him venting so badly that it ended up on the news

chifuyu would be the one to pray to you everyday
the thing that he finds weird is that you didn’t have a grave?
because he’ll definitely go visit your grave but he can’t
he has this small sliver of hope that you’re still alive but it’s very slim considering you never answer his text or calls
and when he goes to your place or ask about your whereabouts, no one will answer the door and everyone would say the same thing that you were dead
when you surprised him, chifuyu immediately engulfs you into a hug
“hey! OPP-”
before you can even finish, you were tackled into a strong hug
chifuyu cups your cheeks while examining your features
“are... you.. really alive..?”
you could feel that he was slightly shaking, face pale and sweat forming on his forehead
you placed your hand over his, turning your head to press a kiss into his palm
“yes, fuyu, i’m really alive.”
chifuyu is breaking down right then, burying his face into your neck, crying and sniffling as relief washes over him
be prepared to have him cling onto your side 24/7
even if you needed to go to the bathroom, he’ll stand beside you or outside to wait for you
he’ll be constantly hugging you, there is no escape
after he gets over his overwhelming amount of feels, he’ll ask you what happened
“ah~ i was revived and i had to keep it a secret~!”
he deadpans at you, slightly shocked, slightly offended, slightly disappointed
“couldn’t you have at least told your boyfriend that you were indeed, alive?”
“nope, gojo sensei said i couldn’t do that. oh! but i wanted to surprise you when he said i could, so how was it?”
“i-it was great babe!”
chifuyu couldn’t find it in his heart to tell you that the way you revealed yourself was kind of lame

when he hears the most important person to him had died, he was super upset
he was broken already and for him to lose you broke him even more
you were hoping to wait it out longer before you could surprise him
but seeing him so upset made you feel bad, so you had to surprise him asap
so when you popped out of the box, yelling “hey! OPP!” at him, he deadpans
you could feel yourself sweating nervously at his reaction, was he mad? was he relieved? his face was just so hard to read
he sighs, before laying his head on your shoulder, slowly wrapping his arms tightly around your waist
if it weren’t for his arms slightly shaking, you wouldn’t have guessed what he was feeling
he eventually brings you into his room and the both of you would cuddle on his couch
you being the big spoon, while he smooshes his face into your chest, inhaling your scent and listening close to your steady heartbeat
he’ll make you thread your fingers through his hair and he wouldn’t let you go because he definitely misses your touch and presence
“are you really real?”
he would mumble from time to time in your chest
“yes mikey, i am alive.”
“then why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
you looks up at you with a small pout on his lips
“i wanted to surprise you..”
he flicks your forehead before resuming his original position in your arms

you could tell he was slowly drifting off to sleep from how his words were slightly slurred

when you surprised him though, he just stares at you in shock

“no hun, i am alive. i was revived again and i wanted to surprise you..”
he still stands there, he’s in disbelief and he’s a little hesitant to go near you
so you have to go up to him and give him a big hug to let him know that you are indeed real and that he wasn’t dreaming
the days after that though, he’s still in disbelief
often asking people if he was dreaming and that if they could see you
to which they all replied yes, they could see you
so after that confirmation, he takes the time to do everything with you
he’s worried that you might die for real anytime soon
so he makes sure that you have a lot of fun with him and that he wouldn’t have any regrets if you actually go
he’s also bolder than usual
being the one to hold your hand and not hesitating to put his arm around your waist
you definitely could tell that he was afraid to lose you for real
hakkai will also tell you how much he loves you more often
the both of you would be sitting together and he’ll just bring you into his lap
nuzzling his face into your neck and tell you just how much you mean to him and the amount he loves you

he kinda blames your death on himself
he sometimes wonders if he could’ve been there to help you or save you

but at the same time he’s like ‘what the fuck’
still, he would definitely run up to you to hug you, to make sure that you are indeed living
pressing his ear up against your chest to listen to your heartbeat

which is not usual for draken so you’re kind of confused
you didn’t expect him to act this way
“baby, why’re you more affectionate than usual?”
you’d ask him when he has his body clung onto your side

usually he would detach himself from you and hide his face that way
but he really can’t bear leaving your side at the moment

if you’re out on a date with him, he’s gonna hold onto your hand or waist so tight
even if you’re going to get groceries, he insists on following you so that you’ll be safe
if you have missions, he makes sure that he follows along
he’ll wait for you at a distance because you’re worried that he might get hurt if any curses make their way out of the barrier

A/n: sorry if this may be bad it’s my first time writing head cannons 🥲 Well overall it’s my first time with writing such things unless you count my fanfic on wattpad-
I’ve tried my best to try and give what you wanted so here it is.If u do not like it please tell me and I’ll try my best and do it better next time.

Albedo
I personally think that Albedo would be quite worried about you as he did his work as it was quite late and you still haven’t came back home
When you arrived back home he would ask you where you were and what you were doing
he would start to get worried or pay more attention to you when you dont reply
when he turned to look at you he saw you struggling to walk in a straight line
“Did you go out drinking?” He asked
You nodded your head sluggishly before you slowly made your way towards him
His face may flush bright red as you caught him off guard by suddenly kissing him on the lips
“Hehe,d-did you know that you’re the most p-p-prettiest person that I have ever met?” You stuttered out due to the alcohol as you let out a crooked smile
Albedo would smile at the compliment as he slowly stroke the back of your head, entangling your hair in his fingers
“Oh really now?Im glad to know,” he replied as he looked at you lovingly.
He didn’t know that you would be so bold when you were drunk.
You pulled him into a big tight hug ,you began to blabber out compliments however they were all muffled out as your face was burried in his chest
But he would probably be able to pick up things like:
“Hehe,I love you my Alchemist”
“Your mine and I’m yours!”
“You love me and I love you”
“Please stay with me”
He would pick you up and carry you in his arms as he brought you to your shared bedroom
This may had taken quite a while as you would suddenly start thrashing about trying to get out of his arms and one he let you go you immediately latched into him once again
“N-noooooo~I want to s-stay with you!”you whined as you slowly began to kiss him everywhere around his face
He would be overwhelmed with the amount of affection he was receiving.
It had been a while since you guys had actually been this close to each other as Albedo was always burying himself with his work
He would chuckle softly at your antics and nod his head in agreement
“Okay then,keep me company having you by my side makes me feel more relaxed.”
“Huhu~Yay!I will!”You cheered as you pecked him on the cheek once again.
Xiao
Xiao would also probably be quite restless by the fact that you weren’t home yet
He would have gotten ready to go and look for you to make sure that you were safe.He didn’t want to lose another loved one
However as he was about to leave, you had just arrived back home at WangShu inn
In my opinion,Xiao seems like someone who would be protective over their S/O so he would probably check you for any injuries
When he looks at your face he would be perplexed as your face was a bright shade of crimson
He would question you but will then realise that you had been drinking as he smelt alcohol
“You’ve been drinking?”
“Mhm~You should have came with me!I missed you!”
You exclaimed as you pouted
He would slowly try to walk away from you as he wasn’t very fond of the decent of alcohol emitting from you
This plans of his backfired as you quickly clung onto him
He discreetly looked at you in distaste as your lips inched closer to his face
He would cringe when you smothered him in kisses
But would then cringe even more when you tried flattering him by flirting (but not to worry as he secretly enjoyed the attention you were giving him)
Once again he would probably try pushing you away without harming you but his attempts were futile and he finally admit to his defeat by giving in
You giggled as you walked behind him and when you jumped onto his back we would be taken aback
“P-piggyback!Woohoo~”you cheered with one hand in the air as the other one held onto Xiao for safety
Xiao would quickly hold onto your legs to make sure you didn’t fall
I believe that he would be quite annoyed by the fact that you had just jumped onto his back without his permission but allowed you to do so anyways
He would then slowly walk around WangShuu inn with you on his back trying to tire you out
When you had began to slowly pass out due to the alcohol you would rest your head between Xiao’s neck and shoulder but before drifting off to sleep you quickly pecked it
As he felt the weight on his shoulder he would let out a soft smile as he turned to the side to look at your face
He would then take you towards your room as he carefully made sure you wouldn’t wake up
Venti
Ngl or anything but if the other two were worried venti would defo be worried if you came home late without telling him you would be
He would probably stay near the front door waiting for you to come back home even if it was like 2am in the morning because he needs to know if you were safe
I believe that every minute he would look at the door waiting for you to walk through it
And believe it or not but when you walk through that door he would pounce right on top of you.The impact making the both of you fall to the ground
He would interrogate you asking you so many questions about why you were late
“I CANT BELIEVE YOU Y/N!”He cried out in disbelief
“YOU.WENT.DRINKING.WITHOUT.ME?!?!!”He shouted in anger
When he found out that you went drinking without him he would be so disappointed that you didn’t bring him with you
He would begin to rumble on about how unfair it was
due to you being drunk you pushed him off you without checking if he was okay or not
He would feel offended.Absolutely offended.
But when you kissed him he was shook to the core but would kiss back smiling.
When you broke it he obviously went rambling on and on again
However he shut his mouth when you pulled him by the wrist leading him to the bedroom
You had thrown him onto the bed and his mind had obviously went off places
It was broken when you climbed onto the bed cuddling him
He put his sad self behind and was about spoon to you but you spooned him first
And you know what?He didn’t mind it at all because he felt safe within your embrace
He made himself comfortable and would begin to giggle when you pecked him on the neck
“Venti?”
“Mhm?Y/n?What is it?”
“I love you~”
“I know~”
“No no,Like like this muchhhhh~”You said as you stretched your arms out.
Venti felt joy sprang within his heart.
