tho I've also seen ppl say jc isn't an antagonist bc he's not completely evil and there are other bad guys but that's just not true from a literary perspective. an antagonist is, objectively, anyone who opposes the protagonist, which IS his role for much of the story. and there can be multiple of them in a work, they don't need to be on the same level of opposition or aligned at all. a school bully and a megalomaniac who wants to conquer the world are both antagonists

Always Come Back to You
Tumblr media
Pairing | John Price x reader
Warnings: Fluff, Price coming home, Fem reader, civilian reader, slightly shorter story, no use of y/n.
Summary: After being away from home for months, price finally got some time off. He decides to surprise you, not telling you he’s coming.
A/n: Hope you enjoy!
Some relationships were hard. Especially when your lover was off someone across the country or even the world.
It was difficult rarely seeing John. Especially when the line of work he does is so dangerous. The thought of him being killed lingered in the back of your mind.
You knew he could take care of himself but you still couldn’t help to worry.
Communication was also hard since the both of you were busy. You having to work and him half the time fighting.
It was definitely hard, but the two of you made it work.
Little did you know, price was already on his way home. The task force was blessed with some time off after the recent mission.
Price was more than happy. The team even teased him about it.
After Laswell informed the 141 price practically jumped out his seat. Soap wad the first to tease gim
“Woah there price, excited to see the missus?”
“You have no idea sergeant. Now if you excuse me, ill be gathering my things.”
Before anyone could say anything price wad already out the room and across the hall.
He’d been waiting for something like this for a while. Its been about two months since he was home. He always felt guilty for leaving you alone for that long but he was also grateful for how well you always took it.
Price had to stop himself from calling you to tell you as he wanted to surprise you.
And now that he was only 20 minutes away from home was like a dream. He almost felt nervous like he was driving to take you on that first date all over again.
The drive to the house seemed faster than usual. (probably because he was speeding…) Once your shared house came into view he felt his heart swell.
This was home. He was actually home.
He quickly parked the car, trying to be as quiet as possible. He didn’t want to ruin the surprise just yet. He got to the door, slowly unlocking and opening it.
Soft music filled the house, along with a soft hum coming from your lips. The house was the same as when he left. Clean with the smell of you. He’d become so used to the loud, busy base he almost forgot how tranquil his actual home was.
He gently set down his bags and continued making his way into the home. You weren’t in the kitchen nor the living room. So he figured you were probably in your office.
And just as he figured there you were.
The sight before him took his breath away.
There you were in all your beauty. Hair lazily put out your face, with the exception of the front pieces. His shirt, much too large, swallowing your figure with some bright pajama pants to pull it all together.
He couldn’t be happier than right now. You could be covered in dirt and mud and you’d still be the loveliest woman he’s ever laid eyes on.
You had you back turned to him as you we’re tidying up a few things on the shelf.
John carefully creeped over, wrapping his arms around your waist once he did. He heard you gasp softly before you realized it was him and relaxed.
But suddenly you stepped away, seemingly realizing it was him!
“John!!”
You practically jumped in his arms, tightly wrapping your arms around his neck. In return he wrapped his arms around you, stuffing his face in your neck.
He was here with you. He was home.
You slightly pulled away, holding his face in your hands staring into those bright blue eyes that you fell in love with.
“I can’t believe it you here. You’re actually here.”
He gave you that soft smile you’ve always love. He put a hand over yours.
“ i’m all yours love. I get two months off.”
He saw the way your face practically lit up and it made his heart flutter. Instead of a reply, you connected your lips in a much needed kiss,
The way he carefully held you would’ve made you think you were made of glass.
The kiss wasn’t desperate or needy. It was love and adoration.
Moments like these made all the time away absolutely worth it. It was you and him. It was always gonna be you and him. And you wouldn’t want it any other way.
He pulled away resting his forehead against yours. Both your faces held smiles, basking in each others presence.
“I’m glad your back love”
“I’ll always come back to you.”

Don't wanna love you anymore, but I can't help it
Tumblr media
Memories were blurry. Tim doesn't remember a time in his life where his brain wasn't totally fucked, but it seemed to be getting worse ever since he showed up. He shoved his little camera in his face, spinning some intricate lie about trying to continue Marble Hornets, that stupid fucking film project he got dragged into by Brian. Tim knew something about it was suspicious, the way he never stopped recording. The whole situation gave Tim a bad pit in his stomach. But he gave the man a chance.
Oh, how stupid he was. How stupid it was of Tim to think that anyone around him could possibly have good intentions. How stupid of him to think that things could possibly get better.
The fucker put his medical records on the internet. For the whole world to see. When Tim saw that video, hearing his name read out and snippets of his confidential information being sprawled out for the world to see, he wanted to vomit. How did he even get ahold of those?
Tim wasn't one to pull punches. And he sure as hell didn't when he finally confronted the lying bastard who fucked him over. The feeling of his fist connecting with the man's face, sending him into the concrete of the parking lot, left a satisfied buzzing in Tim's mind. Therapists were bullshit. Sometimes, violence did help.
But that satisfaction didn't last long. Because now he was here, stuck in the car with the same fucker who betrayed him. Sometimes he wished his spells of memory loss and consciousness would kick in while he sat in the passenger seat, across from Jay, listening to whatever "rock hard music" the shitty radio station decided to play, which mostly consisted with of Queen.
Tim was sure he wouldn't mind coming into consciousness, leaving Jay on the side of the road and driving off. He was angry, and when he got angry, violence tended to creep up into his mind, even if he didn't want it to be there. It almost felt like someone cracked open his skull, the soft buzzing giving him a headache, and implanted the idea of bashing Jay's head into the steering wheel into his mind.
As angry as he was, part of him understood the man's voyeuristic tendencies, his heedless courses of actions. The man was acting out of fear, instinct, a true survivalist. He'd seen the videos of him chasing after the poor guy. He was surprised Jay lasted so long. Tim being clad in that typical porcelain mask that sent shivers down his own spine when he saw it, a reminder of his inevitable succumbing to the other side of him.
To keep himself from blowing up on Jay, taking his camera and breaking it over the poor boys head, he instead opted for giving him the cold shoulder, turning the scratchy radio up loud and chainsmoking, letting out a rattling cough every now and then.
"Smoking kills, you know?" Jay let out a half-hearted chuckle, it was obvious he was trying to ease the tension. Tim's eyes shifted, shooting the man a glare. As he did, he caught sight of the way the golden sun crowned Jay's head in a halo of soft light.
Tim internally kicked himself. This man was nothing like an angel.
"So does being nosey." He snarkily commented, taking another drag, turning to Jay and blowing a cloud of smoke in his direction. Jay let out a few coughs, waving the smoke away.
"Would be nice if you didn't blow that in my face... at least not while I'm driving." Jay let out an annoyed huff, eyes shifting to glare at Tim, although there was a bit of lighthearted-ness to his gaze, much less stern and upsetting than Tim's.
"Yeah... whatever..." Tim grumbled, obviously done with the conversation.
Jay let out a sigh, catching Tim's attention for just a moment. "This is fucked. Ya'know."
Tim just stared, he wasn't sure if he should respond, if Jay wanted gim to respond. So instead, he quirked and eyebrow, urging Jay to continue.
"This whole... ordeal. Everything. You, me, Alex. It all fucking sucks." Tim could tell Jay needed some kind of outlet, so he didn't stop the boy as he continued rambling. "You don't deserve this, Tim. You.... you're a good man. God, a kid shouldn't have had to deal with... with that fucker." Tim recalled briefly telling Jay og how Tim saw "that fucker" long before Marble Hornets was a thing. How he could feel the buzzing in his skill for as long as he could remember, ever present and only getting worse as the years went on. For a long time, Tim was convinced it was all just another hallucination, the schizophrenia nipping him in the bud. But everything seemed to align so horribly perfect. Seeing the stark image of him on those tapes only further confirmed his suspicions.
Tim stared kind of dumbfoundedly at Jay. He wasn't sure what to say. The topic of his childhood, of "that fucker" always made him uneasy, but another part of him felt like the exposure therapy made it easier to cope with, to know that in some twisted sense, he and Jay were in the same boat, both of them clinging to eavhother to keep the other from going overboard.
"You just... I just.... God I hate this, Tim. I should have never gotten involved with this shit. I shouldn't have dragged you back into this, I-I'n so- fuck- I'm so sorry." The dam inside of Jay was broken. He seemed to be spilling every thought he had, tears clouding his vision as he did. His hands shook as he clutched the steering wheel, and Tim worried about the logistics of driving safely while crying.
"Pull over." Tim muttered. Jay, unsure of what Tim planned to do, but seeming to have an inkling of trust in Tim, obliged. He slowly pulled the car off the side of the road, putting it in park and staring down at the wheel as he seemed to have a death grip on it.
Jay sniffled, eyes still brimming and spilling with tears. He refused to look up, he just let his hot tears stream down his face, slowly gliding down his chin, his neck, and soaking into the neck of his shirt.
After a few moments of awkward silence, only broken by Jay's slowly quieting sobs, Tim silently reached over, placing a hand on Jay's shoulder. His grip was firm, but not aggressive. It was a silent reassurance. A way of saying "I'm here. You can cry" without Tim having to actually say it.
After a few moments, Jay finally looked up, over at Tim. Tim's eyes locked with the tear ridden boy, and he gave him a weak half-smile. It was the most vulnerable he had ever managed to be.
Suddenly, Jay's gaze shifted, and his eyes filled with horror as he stared at something just past Tim. Tim quickly shot his head around, searching for any kind of warning signs. There was nothing. Nothing except for the distant line of trees. Tim looked back to Jay, who had began to shake. Jay's breathing quickened, and his eyes were wide, stray mumbling escaping his lips.
"H-he's out there... isn't he. H-he's coming for us a-a-and he-"
Jay let out another sob. The shaking, the state of frozen shock,, the hyperventilating, the mindless mumbling, Tim had a vague idea of what was going on. He figured Jay was having some sort of panic attack, induced by the paranoia that "It" was out there, watching them.
Tim has had his fair share of these. He knew how to pull someone out of this state. He have Jay a soft gaze before unbuckling his seatbelt, turning and opening the door. He got out, turning to Jay. "I'm coming over there." He let Jay know he wasn't leaving him, reassuring him that his presence would return. He walked over to the drivers side of the car, popping the door open. He reached over Jay, and unbuckled his seat belt, reaching out a hand for Jay to grab. "We're going to go to the back seat. You'll have more space, you can lay down. You won't feel as cramped." Tim explained, his usual gruff tone replaced by a tender and cautious one.
Jay, barely processing his surroundings, only nodded before grabbing onto Tim's hand. Tim steadied Jay, the poor guys legs shaking from the shock and fear. He steadied him, opening the back door and allowing Jay to climb in, Tim following suit as Jay crawled into the middle seat, his breathing still quick and shaky.
Tim kept a firm grip on Jay's hand, trying to comfort him, reassure him.
"Jay... hey, listen. Its okay. Alex, The opera-"
"Dont say its name-" Jay quickly interjected, eyes wide with fear as he stared at Tim.
Tim nodded, continuing on. "-it is not there. You're okay, Jay. You're here. You're in the backseat for your car." Tim grounded him the best he could, a soft tone edging into his voice. He looked at Jay, a gaze that once only held contempt towards him, now only laced with concern and care. He was like him. He was scared.
Jay seemed to subconsciously lean into Tim's presence, the only constant in his boggled mind. This didn't go unnoticed by Tim, him being the ever observant man he was.
"How about you lay down. C'mon." Tim mumbled, awkwardly taking a hand and placing it behind Jay's head, leading him so that he could lay down. Jay didn't complain, and in fact seemed welcoming to the touch. He gingerly rested his head in Tim's lap, seeming hesitant at first, before the exhaustion of his slowly calming panic attack took over. "Good... now, breathe with me, kay?"
Jay didn't audibly respond, simply nodding. Tim gave him a half-smile, taking that as a yes, and he took a deep inhale for 4 seconds, holding for 8, and exhaling for 7. Jay followed suit, inhale, hold, exhale. The cycle repeated a few times until Jay's breathing became steadier, and he wasn't shaking with fear. Jay's eyes rested upon Tim's stark features. He found an odd sense of calm in the mind. To him, Tim was possibly the strongest person on the planet. If Tim could do it, then so could he.
The staring didn't go unnoticed by Tim. He gazed down at the man in his lap, eyes soft. Absent-mindedly, Tim's hand that rested behind Jay's head had began to carefully play with his hair, curling his fingers into it and releasing. When the action was noticed, Tim began to pull his hand away, unsure if the touch were bothering Jay. Before he could, Jay grabbed Tim's wrist, and he pushed his head back towards his hand. Almost like a cat.
Cute.
Tim chuckled, returning to curling and unfurling his fingers around Jay's locks. The feeling seemed to calm Tim as well, the repeated action calming his ever-raving mind.
After a few moments, Jay's eyes seemed to be slowly drifting shut. Tim let out a hum, glancing up at the front seat. "We gotta get going, Jay." Tim mumbled, glancing up to the front seat. Jay let out a defiant groan, shaking his head, bring his hands up, placing them against his chest and dragging them down in a semi-circle motion.
Tired.
Tim was aware of Jay's tendency to go non-verbal. He often experienced the same thing. He nodded softly. "It's okay, I'll drive." Tim hummed. "You wanna stay back here so you can spread out?"
Jay quickly shook his head. Tim didn't blame him. The dark and dim backseat didn't seem like avery comforting spot at the moment. "Alright, come on, I gotcha." Tim popped open his door, allowing Jay to sit up before he slid out, Jay following him in the process. Jay sleepily stumbled next to Tim, Tim keeping a tight grip on him as he opened the passenger door and helped Jay sit down.
For a few minutes the car ride was silent, the only sound being the soft sound of the radio, turned down so that it wouldn't disturb or overwhelm Jay.
Tim felt a tug on his sleeve. He looked over, finding Jay leaning closer to him. Jay watched him for a moment before signing.
Talk to me.
Tim looked back to the road for a moment before his gaze returned to Jay. "Talk to you? 'Bout what?"
Anything.
Tim nodded, thinking for a moment.
"I used to hate you." Wow, harsh opening. He looked over, seeing a panicked yet understanding look upon Jay's face. "I was... angry. And my mind was fucked and I just. Raged. Not saying that you publishing my medical files online for all to see is okay, but what I'm saying is... I understand. You.... you're scared. You never intended to get dragged into this and you are just trying to help. I honestly think it's a bit admirable." Tim let out a short chuckle. "I wanted to have something to hate. Someone to blame and take my anger out on other than myself. And you were right there and I just- I shouldn't have punched you. I'm sorry, about that. Hope I didn't mess up your cute face too bad." Voicing his concern had always been an issue for him. It still was an issue, but it was obvious that Jay wanted some sort of reassurance. Tim was willing to give it.
You think my face is cute?
Jay cheekily grinned, and Tim just stared, sputtering for a moment. "Thats not- no- i-"
Jay chuckled, the noises catching Tim's attention, embarrassment of being caught in the act of complimenting someone written all over his face.
I think your face is cute too.
☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆
Part of Tim wanted to hate Jay. He wanted to despise him. But he couldn't. No matter what he did, he couldn't stop liking him.

Solo Leveling but Lee Ju-Hee is sent by the Rulers to look for the Shadow Monarch, not knowing at first that he is hidding in Jin-Woo's body until the Prisoners and Assasins arc.
Cue to a very anxious Lee Ju Hee joining Jin-Woo on his guild in order to sway him from not joining the Monarchs side. And before she knows it she is trapped with taking care of him and stopping him from causing any ruckus outside of what woo Jin-Chul can't handle to cover up for him. Jin-Woo now doesn't need to take care of his small wounds with precious potion and can instead wait until he is out of the dungeon to meet up and be cured by Ju-Hee that still tells him from time to time to be careful. He slowly gets to realize that those comments weren't really mean or just sidely thrown at him but rather that was her whole personality, a person who was always worried about him even at the smallest of things. And he likes that.
Cue just the most crazy shenanigans that happen between Jin-Woo, Ju-Hee and even Jin-Ho.
Jin-Woo and Ju-Hee talking about the Double Dungeon from time to time, small talks about it or just few words that both of them understand what's coming from even by first glance, and even Ju-Hee getting to know about they system, since it blocks Jin-Woo a lot of information that she wanted to tell gim in the first place.
Ju-Hee doing her best to overcome her fear, from small steps by being close to dungeons, to outright saving people who are in danger inside of them. I like to think that she might have gone to the school of Jin-Ah, maybe she needed to go for a parent teacher meeting that Jin-Woo couldn't go for and it was at that day that the dungeon break occurred. Instead of escaping on her own she chose to grab Jin-Woo's shadows that are inside of her and order them on how to stop the orcs from killing all the students. At that point she might have also saved a lot more students with her powers, however it was still not enough. And maybe just as she was about to die at the hands of the orc, the Rulers gave her the blessing to Reawaken to an S rank healer so that she she could deal with the rest of the orcs for her own good. Thus maybe finally achieving her almost to last moment in overcoming that fear of monsters, but not the Double Dungeon trauma overall.
Like I've said I want her to have a slow slow process from being relieved that message to here. And when Jin-Woo finally enters the Double Dungeon, Ju-Hee upon hearing that the Double Dungeon has been opened, goes in there and does her best to also overcome that challenge. She doesn't necessarily have to fight against the Architect nor any of the statues, she just has to get everyone out of here alive, including Jin-Woo. [Who does need to be woken up in this AU]. Ju-Hee eventually tells them what are the rules to the dungeon that are still implanted withing the place. To dodge the beam you must bow, get close to the statues with instruments to calm down the God statue, [making a canon AU divergence at this point where the statues are still programed the same way as before because the Architect didn't expect this outcome] and in the end sending everyone outside as she stays with Jin-Woo as the last sacrifice, no longer alone in this Dungeon. And no longer carrying the whole burden by himself. He finally wakes up. [Thus the small deaths and helps from members of the Hunter's Guild's aren't in vain and were used for something, while also enhancing Ju-Hee's development.
They escape the Double dungeon. Ju-Hee and Jin-Woo's family meet with her in the meantime. So do the Rulers as they tell her that they have already started to sent someone to kill the Shadow Monarch, and she confronts the Rulers telling them that Jin-Woo is not a threat to them, and that even if he were, she trusts him to do the right thing. From then on the connection between her and the Rulers come a stop, she is still with he powers but Juhee can no longer hear the Rulers voices as they begin to dispute whenever or not to really trust Ju-Hee's words. They will wait u til Ill Hwang tells them the truth and they see it for themselves.
Ju-Hee and Jin-Ho taking care of the citizens in the Japan crisis arc while Jin-Woo is destroying other Titans. Ju-Hee somehow manages to find a small rundown building that isn't so destroyed as the other and makes some food with Jin-Woo while sharing some stories about her university online clases. Or Jin-Ho and Ju-Hee geeking about University related stuff that they do outside of being hunters.
Ju-Hee stops Jin-Woo from breaking the Monarchs chains just in time and tell him that they aren't on their side.
When the three are invited to the International Conference, and Hwang Dong Soo kidnaps Jinho, the moment they teleport to where Jinho is being held, JuHee is just holding on to Jinho, healing him and cheering for JinWoo beat Hwang dong soo and Thomas Andre. Kaisel is sent to get Juhee and Jinho away from the fight. From afar she sees Thomas just being thrown away like a muppet. And considering Thomas is one of the hunters connected to the Rulers she is sweatdropping inside hoping the Rulers don't take it out on Jin-Woo later on.
Oh boy the fight with Go Gun Hee and the Ice Monarch leaves Ju-Hee on the brink of dispair as she is doing the best she can to save him but cant do nothing in the end. Her fear is coming back again as they face the bigger threats but Gun He reasures them both that they will be able to win this.
(idk if at this point she could be legible for being elected as the next Rulers vessel, it would be fun too if another ruler decided to fuse itself with Ju-Hee or something like JinWoo did with Ashborn.)
When the monarchs fight comes Ju-Hee comes with Kaisel at just the right time to protect Jin-Woo from dying. The fight is dragged out even longer as Ill Hwang and Ju Hee help, the ladder from afar, to defeat the Bast and Frost monarch. Alas he still gets injured but manages to at least kill the Frost Monarch while the Beast Monarch flees. Jin-Woo dies, revives, and because Ill Hwang was being recovered with ju-Hees magic, he still has enough time to visit his family and join jinwoo and the rest of the hunters o the last fight against the Monarchs.
Funny moment cut to Ju-Hee hitting Jinwoo because he gave everyone a heart attack when his summons got out of the gate.

Please post your thoughts on the ending of Moonglow when you get to it. I had MANY
I'll hide my spoilery thoughts, but in a non-spoiler way: I loved it, personally. The book was a total 5/5 for me, one of my favorites of the year thus far.
I can imagine that when this came out, some may have had issues with Poppy becoming immortal, because I feel like that was a hot topic at the time due to everything on TV and YA being so paranormal, and this idea of how you would solve the problem of being mortal while having an immortal lover being so big. And of course, there was the whole "changing for your boyfriend bad" rhetoric, which somehow got attached to the concept of like... choosing immortality to be with your one true love, which is a different issue, lol.
I was good with it. I mean, this is a romance novel. He was becoming mortal, or she was becoming immortal. And I personally was never hot on the idea of Ian becoming mortal--because, first off, that's what he wanted at the start of the story. Ian becoming mortal would've been a static and easy journey for him. He wanted it anyway, and being mortal gives him a mortal life with his lover--it's all win. Where's the challenge to his view of his self and his worldview?
Ian staying immortal and accepting that the best thing for Daisy, the person he loved most, was this immortality he'd seen as unnatural, was about him accepting himself. It was a very classic werewolf story, and as a classic werewolf lover, I appreciated that. He had to accept the wolf to master it; his fear and self loathing held him back. His immortality felt similar. I also think that Daisy getting syphilis was a real reality check, tbh; this thing he'd loathed was literally the only way for her to survive, and also to evade a TERRIBLE death, unless she chose suicide.
The means of her immortality was also pretty clear to me as soon as the GIMs were introduced, so I was expecting that, lol. Daisy getting syphilis pushing her into that was more of a surprise, though it tracked. I liked the reference, because it was a real issue that grounded the book in its era, and again, I think Ian needed the reality check of "there are worse things than living forever, dude".
I liked that her transformation had to be lightly gruesome, and I liked that she had to be this thing that Ian initially viewed with disgust. And I guess I could see where some might view his acceptance as a little quick, but--look. Those two were SO in love, and they'd been through so much. To me, it tracked that he'd end up being like "well, whatever it takes". But she needed to do it without telling him, thematically, because we needed to see him actually get *challenged*. Her convincing him to go along and help her do it would have, again, been too easy. He needed to experience the shock. It made his embracing of her all the better.
As for the son twist--I knew Conall wasn't the issue. Too obvious. I didn't figure out the twist until RIGHT before, but I kinda loved it. I appreciated that there were like, long term consequences to Ian not answering the call, even though I get why he did not. I liked that there was that level of intensity and darkness to the story. And frankly, I liked that Daisy gave the killing blow, and didn't get shit all over for it. I just... was very satisfied.

Okay since dabi is the centre of attention, how would he open up to his s/o about all the trauma in his life? How would they comfort him?
Tumblr media
You know when this man will speak about the whole package of being a Todorki and Endeavour's abuse?
Never if it depends on him. Probably when he shows to everyone but talk about it with you before? Nah.
But it does happen.
This man has trust issues fight me
It happens when Dabi begrudily admits to himself that he does care. That he does have feelings for you. That he is not that crazy... but wont admit it neither shows it much.
But when he is drunk? Sorry Touya...
Spills the tea if ONE, ONLY ONE subject rwlated to the todorokis come about.
Thats why he doesn't want to get hella drunk along with the league.
He has some toletance but everyone has their limits.
So does Dabi.
It happens when both of you are alone and he lower his walls just a bit down to just have a nice evening with his S/o.
Jokes over there. Drinking vompetions here.
Make out sessions..
... sex...
You both decided to just chill for a bit later and just watch some Tv. You snuggling up to his chest as him with spread legs.
Wrong decision.
It aappeared a fuckin documentary about the now number one hero Endeavour.
A documentary.
You just snorted in sarcasm at it, knowing your boyfriend's dislike towards the hero... until you felt his body starting to heat it up.
".. Dabs?" You called for him and widened your eyes at the pysocothic look he had towards the T.v... Scarred hand trembling as he holded the remote as one part showed about Enji's first kid... the one you knew that was knowm as dead.
You got off of gim due to ocerheat as you tried and tried to xall out for him... but suddenly when Endeavour showed up lamenting about the loss of his son was what scared you the most.
He threw the control on fire and with animalisc shout he threw the remote towards the Tv, crashing iyt and setting almost the whole apartment on fire.
He snapped back to his sentences when he heard your screams and the sound of the fire extinguisher you used, thankfully saving both of your asses and apartment.
You panted as he stood there with wide turquoise eyes at the destruction he made.
"What the fuck was that for?!" You didn't meant to your words to come out as harsh as they were but you were so scared that you couldn't help it.
He only stood there... mouth opening and closing like a fish before he gritted his teeth, his knees gaving out as he gripped his hair.
Oh god...
You threw the fire extinguisher aside and come close to him as you saw him hyperventilating.
"Dabi..?" You called as softly as you could, kneeling down along with him as you winced at the look he had on his eyes...
You decided to risk it and touch his shoulder only to gasp when he grabbed your wrist and glared at your way... not towarda you, he was in somewhere else and you knew him well enough.
"Dabi-!" You winced at feeling his palm heating up on your wrist as you cringed your teeth together before you opened your eyes at seing he retreated his hand.
He was staring at his own hand like it was the most horrific thing in the word beforw burring his head on his hands.
"..fuck.." he whimpered and you widened your eyes at sieng your usual cocky boyfriend just... crashing down...
His shoulders trembled as guttural sobs dipped from his throat... but no tears could even came because of his burned tear ducts.
You hugged him by his shoulders as he slowy took off his hands from his face to grip at the back of your shirt as he burries his head on the crook of your neck.
"Im sorry... fuck Im so sorry doll..." he whispered shakily as you cradled his head and brushed your fingers on his indigo hair.
You waited for a bit before offering to get up and be on the couch as he decided to lay on your lap, his nose almost brushing your stomach as you carresed his shoulders.
His face was remained stoic but with furrowed eyebrows...
You will have to ask him about it or epse he will remain silent for the rest of the night, the max he will only saw he will get something back to compedate the broken tv.
When he does speaks its actually heartwrecking.
He doesn't cry neither his voice cracks... just a hollow and sad tone of voice as he tells all about his life before he choose to run away and fake his own death for more than ten years.
Tells about how the abuse started and how he cried on his younger brother's arms, questioning his own existance even...
... and even spills about his plan of killing his own younger brother only to cause some pain on endeavour, but soon achanging his plan after Endeavour took the first number one hero spot.
He expects you to be scared or to look down at him in pity so he doesn't even budge from his spot.
So when he feels gentle carress on his hair and you going down to kiss his temple as he widened his eyes, not looking up still.
"What a asshole Enji is right hun?" You cooed and manage to have a small chuckle from him as his grip on you tighten just a bit.
"You bet he is..." he murmured as you massaged his shoulders.
"... You know I wont leave you right? Touya or Dabi you're still the man I fell in love with..."
"... you're crazy... I lost my mind and you still have the courage of being here..? You know how much people I killed? Know the things i done..?" He muttered as you giggled.
"Forgot i am considered a villain too?" He still wouldn't look at you "And lets face it... when you love someone you love them and thats it. You dont see or neither mind the flaws.."
He burried his face on your stomach as his grip became a bit pai full, yet you didn't speak as you comforted him the best you could.
"You want me to call you Dabi or Touya?" You whispered as his shoulders shook.
"I dont know... I dont know nothing anymore..... hearing it just give me chills I guess... But you.. hearing from you is... actually nice to hear.. softening even."
So you called him only by the safety of four walls with only both of you... until it came the day where he showed to everyone who he truly was.
Todoroki Touya...

the winchester brothers are the children of john winchester and kam mirae and they have mixed race imposter syndrome <3 bc i say so
they have their korean names as their middle names just like meeeeeee (sam sejin winchester and dean daehyun winchester) and sam goes by sam but dean goes by daehyun bc he wants to remember his mom
sam has white-passing privilege :((( daehyun took all the korean genes so his lil brother can be more palatable what a good hyung
hyung for that matter is the only korean word sam really uses on a regular basis. daehyun is his hyung! that's his hyung!! that's literally his big brother i am going to cry
daehyun remembers bits and pieces of korean and he feels insecure abt his pronunciation constantly bc of that american accent <333 yuh asam experience
daehyun tries to make the same kam special kimchi jigae his mom made but all he remembers is the taste and his dad won't look at him (this is where i cup baby daehyun's face in my hands and tell him anything will taste korean if you add a bunch of gochujang and kimchi and scallions and garlic to it)
at 14 daehyun stands in the only hmart around for miles holding a pack of gim that doesn't taste like what he remembers his mom buying but he can't read hangul and he can't remember the brand she bought and he can't return it bc that's money he just spent but it doesn't taste right and he can't replicate it whatever he tries to do
at 18 sam has that classic realization that no matter how much he tries to blend in in stanford, he will always be a perpetual foreigner and the white man will never truly accept him </3 throw off your chains my brother
sam will steal all the tteokbokki eggs
sam goes by himself for beolcho to clean off the weeds on mirae's grave
sam and daehyun will come to blows over hwatu
the winchesters actually treat kevin good bc asian solidarity YUH
they both have Emotions over linda tran THEE asian mom bc daehyun remembers his OWN asian mom and sam gets to experience the wonderful and heartbreaking experience that is an asian mom telling you you're too skinny and you are a growing boy and you should eat some fish
the winchesters and the concept of haan
mirae is resurrected after 33 years and she experiences the culture shock of "i was killed 3 years after vincent chen was beat to death and now koreans are a trend"
daehyun hooooooards meat scissors. when he does kbbq you do not get to choose how big your meat strips are. he will choose for you. you will eat whatever he grills and it will be damn good. ssam is the only vegetable he will willingly eat.
there's two types of each banchan in the bunker fridge (low-sodium for sam and normal for daehyun <3)
daehyun calls cas 'jagiya' and it's a joke but also it's really not ("mornin' jagiya")
daehyun also calls cas "ahjussi" like ONCE but just to annoy him
"you're like a hyung to me, cas" *cas looks heartbroken*
closet kpop girlie daehyun winchester (stans loona)
there's a rice cooker in the impala's trunk.
and to cap off this post: jackles manner legs. koreannatural real.

When I thought about The Piglin Brothers AU I can just picture the execution festival scene.
Tubbo is scared, hopes that what he thinks is happening doesn't actually happen when he hears Jschlatt ask Techno to come to the stage. The warrior does it and stands in front of the 16 year old. Jschlatt tells Techno to execute "The Traitor" only for Techno to just brush him of "Nah.. That would sadden the gremlin". No one but Wilbur, Tommy and Tubbo knows who "The gremlin" is and are confused. Jschlatt snaps out of it rather quickly and tries to pressure Technoblade into killing Tubbo only for and angry Tommy to ran into him and punch gim in the nose. Techno opens the cage and tells Tubbo to leave. He himself just starts to give advice about where to punch Jschlatt to cause the most harm.
Nice. We got the brothers and we got pissed off Tommy punching Schlatt in the face. Tubbo doesn’t die and we get some satisfying stuff here!

Sucker I xx (finale)
Prompt: Y/N attends a school for the supernatural, specifically: werewolves, witches and vampires. The school might be magic, but so is love, right? Right?
Genre: angst, fluff
Pairing: reader x 00 line (jeno special)
Inspired heavily by: Legacies (and The Vampire Diaries&The Originals)
a/n: multiple endings woopwoop!
main m.list / sucker m.list /  i  ii  iii  iv   v   vi   vii   viii   ix   x   xi  xii xiii xiv  xv  xvi  xvii xviii xix xx

xx (jaemin)
xx (haechan)
xx (renjun)
“Mr Hwang?” Hana asked.
“I prefer Richard.” He answered, smiling.
“I thought she was dead.” You said, looking at the girl on his right.
“She was but then I got her turned.” Mr. Hwang, or should you say Richard said. Only after hearing that, did you realize what just happened.
“Enough?!” Jeno practically yelled, walking towards you. “You don’t know what it’s like being in love with you.” he added.
“I don’t?” You asked “Do enlighten me then.” You added.
“You know, when you and I were together, every single atom in my body told me that it was the right thing, that we were a perfect fit.” he said, the tears already forming in his eyes and for a split second, he could have sworn he saw a little bit of hope in your eyes, but it could have just been wishful thinking or his tears blurring his vision.
“And that kind of love, it can change your whole life, so don’t tell me I didn’t love you enough. I gave you everything and you know it! Sure, I was the one who broke up with you, but I regret it every single day.” He added and at this point, he was practically fighting his tears more than anything.
“Oh, so sad, so tragic. Really wish I cared.” You laughed as Mark grabbed him by his shoulders to pull him away, knowing he won’t be able to walk away by himself.
That kind of love, it can change your whole life.
That’s when it all came back, the memories of Jeno, the ones when you were together, the ones when you were broken up, the ones when you were just friends, the ones when you were dating his best friend, all of it came back, but most of all, the look on his face when you say yes to go out with him, the way he smiled when he first heard you say i love you, the sadness in his eyes when he broke up with you, the hope in his eyes when you told him you still feel something for him, the hopelessness in his eyes when he saw you with Jaemin, the way his eyes watered when he saw you like this.
That’s when you realized how much he was right, how right it felt to be in his arms, to be the reason for his smile, for him to be he reason for yours, all of it.
You really were a perfect fit.
He did give you everything and you did know it and at this point, you realised, you couldn’t blame yourself this.
You weren’t responsible for anyone’s death, she died because she was sent to be killed by you.
There was no reason to feel guilty, no reason for your humanity to be turned off but most importantly, no reason why the whole werewolves race had to die, no reason why the love of your life had to die.
“Mr. Hw-Richard, there’s no reason to do thi-” “Yes, there is, child. You see, werewolves are useless, their existence is probably god’s way to spite us all d-” Richard cut Renjun off but before he could finish his sentence, you did the same to gim.
“Weren’t werewolves around before vampires?” You asked and looked over at Jeno.
“Besides, some werewolves might even be cooler than vampires.” You said, winking at him, which is when you finally saw his smile, the smile you were waiting for and that’s when you knew, true love was gonna save the day.
“Aww, so sweet, but that won’t stop me.” Richard said, rolling his eyes.
“I can end you all if I wanted to.” He added “What did you need me for then?” Haechan asked, raising his hand before Richard compelled him to stop.
“Oh please, who’s next?” He asked.
“Another vampire?” he asked, looking at Chenle.
“A werewolf?” He asked, looking at Jisung.
“Possibly a witch?” he asked, looking at Renjun.
“Why not try all three?” You asked, using your super speed to take the dagger from one of the shelves and stab him with it.
The dagger wasn’t to harm Richard, it was just to put him in a deep sleep, until you figured out what to do about him, knowing any offensive magic wouldn’t be the answer, especially not after the shocking events that happened in such a short time.
You knew you couldn’t actually kill him anyway, and it’s not like he was dead either, he could come back to life if you pulled the dagger out.
Once you successfully took him down, you felt a pair of hands on your waist, pulling you into a hug.
“So, true love really does save the day” Jeno commented, looking at you with love in his eyes.
“Pretty much.” You said, looking at him the same way.
“Guys, hate to break up a cute moment here, but um, Haechan?” Jaemin asked “and the other werewolves?” Minsoo asked.
“I’ll go to the werewolves.” Jisung said, Renjun and Chenle soon following after him.
“Let’s hope we can siphon the dark magic out of him, yeah? Anyone have anything they won’t miss?” Minsoo asked as the girl stepped forward, handing him her ring.
“Ah good choice.” Minsoo said, smiling at her before placing it in Haechan’s hand. “Who says I want my dark magic gone?” Haechan asked.
“Me.” Jaemin said as he placed his hand on Haechan’s shoulder. “It’s for the best and you know it.” He added as Haechan sighed.
And with that, the events of that day are still a blur, not only to you, but to the others. Later on, you found out the girl was actually being compelled by the ring she gave Minsoo.
The ring they destroyed, and with it, all traces of Haechan’s dark magic, besides the front entrance, it was still being rebuilt as we speak.
You also found out that she was actually really nice and that her name was Hyejoo, but she went by Olivia.
You and Jeno went back to the way things were before you broke up, when it all normal, well, as much as you could.
You were a tribrid and werewolf couple at a school for the supernatural beings, it wasn’t really what you would call normal a year ago, but not, it felt normal, it felt right, because this kind of love, it can change your whole life.
Maybe platonic love like Chenle’s love for Jisung, family love like Minsoo’s love for Jisoo,  romantic love like your love for Jeno, maybe, just maybe, all types of love save the day at the end, because even if this school is magic, so is love, right?
a/n: so um i know jeno’s ending isn’t that different from jaemin’s, I apologize! Renjun’s and Haechan’s endings are on their way and I will try and make them a bit more different, as the plot needs to solve dark Haechan and friendzoned Renjun somehow. I really hope you liked it, I feel like I like this ending a tiny bit better than Jaemin’s, even tho I was certain that Jeno was least likely to be endgame, you know? but here we are, with 4 endings, because I love them all.

Summary
- Oathday, 11th Gozran in the year 815 (Second Era). Early Summer.
- The party begin this session, around noon, in an underground prison / torture room. The party free the dozen or so prisoners there but are reluctant to let them go, as the ground level of the temple is still occupied with Kobolds. The party find a sack filled with a small quantity of coins and assorted gems, apparently the stolen property of the prisoners.
- The party instead make their way over to a large rectangular chamber, filled with black marsh water, as four massive stone pipes have a constant stream of water coming in. The party search the watery chamber, finding two large metal drains at the rear. Naillae discovers a Harper pin in the water and the party all begin slowly searching the waters. Labarett uses a ritual to locate magic coming from one of the large massive drain pipes, he tries to search the pipe but the water pressure pushes him away. Sir Krondor then tries and by sheer strength forces himself to stand in front of the pipe searching the inside. He finds a book and retrieves it. It is a spell book, completely undamaged by the water.
- The party decide to go back upstairs and clear the upper level, to allow the prisoners safe passage out. They make their way up the stairs and are immediately attacked in an ambush by waiting Kobolds. Ragnar tries to use his Spirit Guardians again but the Kobolds immediately recognise the threat and throw half a dozen spears at him, injuring him, and forcing him to lose concentration on maintaining his spell.
- Three of the kobolds run away, inviting the party to chase after them, which they do so. However, Naillae and Labarett both run into waiting Kobold traps, acid vials exploding around them. Still chasing the fleeing Kobolds, but more cautious this time, eventually the party kill all the foes.
- Moving forward, to clear the rest of the level, they find more traps, but the rest of the rooms are either empty or filled with rubbish. It would appear the Kobold tribe has left, taking what ever valuables they had with them, leaving behind a small force to delay the party. The party move forward into a large room, which the front double stone doors of the temple open into.
- A large T-shaped chamber houses a large statue of a five headed dragon made of black basalt, standing atop a raised plinth of alabaster. A small entry hall is lit by two torches.
Tumblr media
- The party examine the room and statue. Trenchant finds a strange irregularity in the chain like engraving on the plinth and presses in the link. With a click a stone drawer opens up to reveal an old sack, so old the material is barely intact. Within the sack are ten white cloudy gems (worth 500 gp each), 5000 silver pieces, and 200 gold pieces.
- Confident that the ground level is now clear, the party return downstairs and inform the prisoners it is now safe to go. Varis hands over the sack containing all the stolen treasure from the prisoners, and they gratefully leave.
- The party now decide what to do, and how to breach the final double stone doors, that the two Dragonshield Kobolds ran through, and behind which the prisoners warned the party that red robed figures with bald tattooed heads frequent, and also that the party suspect where Throstulgrael’s lair waits.
- The party decide to rest an hour before proceeding. They do so and then prepare themselves for battle. Trenchant comes up with a bold plan, which though initially the party are reluctant to try, the Bard eventually persuades them to do it.
- The party block the two large drains in the adjacent watery chamber and soon the water levels begins to raise rapidly. In no time at all the large torture room begins filling with black water. Naillae and Varis prepare the hinges on the double stone doors to be loosen off. Then Ragnar, Naillae and Labarett stand atop one of the wooden tables like a raft. Gim uses his Ring Of Water Walking to stay dry. Sir Krondor dons the hood of his Cloak Of The Manta Ray, allowing him to swim and breath under water. Trenchant levitates above the waters, Varis uses his Ring Of Swimming to effortlessly float in the waters and ties himself to the bars near the doors.
- When the waters are well above head height, at a signal from Trenchant, both hinges on the door are removed and the force of the water starts to move the stone doors apart. The doors fall away but the water rushes in to a small antechamber with another set of stone doors. As the water rushes in, it lifts the bodies of two dead Dragonshield Kobolds, their skin and armour melted. Before the party can decide what this means, the other set of doors suddenly give way under the force of the water.
- In a sudden rush, the immense amount of black water from the torture room races out and into the next area. A large cavern filled with green, thick acidic vapours. As the waters race in, the current tries to pull all the party in the water with it, but they manage to avoid being sucked in. The two wooden tables lurched forward at a break neck pace, the tables tossing about with the waves. Naillae and Labarett can’t keep their balance and are thrown off the tables and smash into the stone door frame. Ragnar manages to stay on and surfs the table through the door way and into the small antechamber. Immediately the Arcane Ward there is set off, and a massive acid explosion fills the room, catching Ragnar. The dazed Cleric continues forward, riding the out of control table, as it races into the large cavern and begins to circle around at a crazy speed in a large circle. The rushing water is filling into a large circle tunnel, twenty feet across, and Ragnar realises that if he falls into the water it will drag him to a watery death.
- The rest of the party desperately try to avoid being dragged into the whirlpool, but Naillae begins to be dragged towards it, until Trenchant levitates himself over to her using the wall to guide himself. The Bard then casts Fly upon Naillae and she shoots up and out of the dangerous waters.
- Varis, still tied to the bars near the open door, takes careful aim and throws a small green owl figurine towards the spinning Ragnar before he gets dragged down into the whirlpool. Varis knows he has one shot and if he throws badly will knock Ragnar into the waters instead. Luckily the throw is good, and as the small green figurine nears Ragnar Varis shouts the command word. Instantly the figurine transforms into a Giant Owl. Ragnar leaps onto the winged beast and grabs on for dear life as the owl lifts him clear of the deadly waters. Ragnar begins coughing, and wincing from pain, from the acidic vapours in the room. The vapours appear to be coming from lit braziers around the room and are slowly eroding everything and everyone.
- From the far end of the cavern, around a corner, a large dark figure appears. The outline of massive wings is visible through the thick green vapours.
Tumblr media
- A loud, deep voice booms out, “Tell me Raiders, why do you seek my death? Are you heroes, seeking fame, to be known as the killers of Throstulgrael? Or are you simply robbers, and you just wish to steal my wealth?”
- Ragnar, unsure replies, “A little from column A, a little from column B?”
- Gim shouts out, “Yeah, but mostly we want to help ourselves to ya gold ya bloody dragon!”
- The Dragon moves forward and looks at Gim, speaking, “How unfortunate then, for you have come too late. My wealth is all gone. Given to the Cult Of The Dragon Queen in payment for what I have always longed for.”
- Varis, an uneasy feeling coming to him, as he begins to put all the pieces together, shouts out, “And that would be what exactly?”
- Throstulgrael smiles, “Agh, but you shall find out soon enough.”
- Trenchant interrupts, yelling, “We are here to stop your attacks on innocent people!”
- Throstulgrael snaps angrily, “How hypocritical! Why do you get to decide who lives or dies! Why are your murders justified, in your pursuit of treasure and fame, where as mine or not!”
- The Dragon calms down and then continues, “Come, the time for talking is over. Now we will see who shall live and who shall die.”
- Battle starts with Throstugrael moving forward to get into a better position as the party try to seperate apart. The sight of the Dragon instantly has Sir Krondor and Trenchant cowering in fear, and soon Gim too is overcome by the magical Dragon Fear. Ragnar hangs onto the Giant Owl as Varis commands it back into the torture room. Labarett takes out the small silvery heart shaped box that contains the Hero’s Heart. He quickly places the small dried heart into his mouth and begins to think of worthy and righteous deeds. The spirit within the heart fills Labarett, judging him, and a voice fills his head, “You are worthy.” Blue light begins to swirl around the Barbarian as he carefully places the dried heart back into the silver box. Trenchant, begins singing songs of encouragement, giving Labarett Bardic Inspiration and helping Sir Krondor, Gim and himself eventually overcome the Dragon Fear.
- The Dragon moves into position and opens its jaws, a long stream of acid shooting forth and strikes Labarett, Gim, Ragnar and the Giant Owl. The Owl is instantly vaporised. Thanks to the Bardic Inspiration, Labarett manages to dive away and miss most of the acid but Gim and Ragnar take the full force, and are badly injured from the acid. Gim loses one hand axe, melted by the acid, and Ragnar’s shield is melting into a pool of useless metal.
- With most of the water now gone, vanished into the open hole in the cavern, the party are free to move about. Ragnar begins throwing spells at the Dragon, but most are doing little as the beast uses its Legendary Resistance to avoid the effects of his most powerful spells. Trenchant is taunting the Dragon with Vicious Mockery. Sir Krondor and Varis stand back at range, their bows firing at the Dragon. Sir Krondor uses his precious Barbed Arrows, firing again and again, sending three arrows at the beast for every one that Varis sends, but both are dealing equal damage. Varis, taking his time, and firing less arrows is aiming his shoots for dealing the most damage. Sir Krondor, bellows out a Rallying Cry, encouraging himself and Varis to shoot even more arrows into the Dragon.
- Naillae, now able to fly, is flying in and out of the battle. Trying to sneak towards the Dragon unaware, she flies about, lurching at the Dragon with her enchanted dagger and striking at vital areas in the Dragon’s body. During this time Naillae notices another section of the cavern around the corner, and a passageway with light coming from it. She is unable to see into the passageway as it is mostly covered with a thick tapestry.
- Gim, badly damaged, is staying out of range of the Dragon’s claw’s, massive teeth and swinging tail. Labarett, glowing blue from the spirit’s power within, runs towards the Dragon in a pure Rage. The Barbarian begins hacking into the Dragon with his enchanted longsword Anarchic flashing purple. The Dragon now focuses his attention on the Barbarian, and the two fight one on one.
- Throstulgrael pushes the fight, even though he appears badly wounded, and could escape at any time as he stands next to the large twenty foot wide hole, obviously the entrance he uses for his lair. The Dragon does not relent, even as his wounds become more and more grievous. Indeed, Throstulgrael appears to be relishing this encounter, embracing the attacks of the party, and never flinching away.
- With one final swing, Labarett swings his sword into the belly of the Dragon, opening up a large mortal wound. Labarett is covered in black Dragon blood, as the Barbarian continues to drive forward his sword.
- Throstulgrael begins to fall over sideways, one final word escaping his jaws as a sigh, “YES!”
- Varis lowers his bow, sweat on his face as the horrible realisation of what has happened hits him. In a low, horrified whisper, the Ranger speaks, “Gods protect us!”
<And as the party stand looking at the slain body of Throstugrael, that is the end of the session.>

🥰🥰😍☺️. The first Christmas post for Hop was cute like always could you do F,G,H,I,J (Christmas ones) for Hop and Leon? You could do them separately if you want.
I’m so glad you liked it !! 🥰 I’m going to do Hop first, because I already did the F word with Leon ♥️ If you want the other letters for Leon, please tell me in another request 🥰 From now on, I’ll do only three letters per request, because I want to continue being fast ! Hope you’ll understand ♥️ I did 4 for Hop, if you want the J don’t hesitate to send me another request ! Here we goooo 🥳
Hop
F : Fairytale (what if your story begins on Christmas day ?)
You thought Hop would be with his family on Christmas day. After all, he didn’t see his brother in ages, and his mom always loved these festivities. As far as you were concerned, Christmas was another day in earth, nothing more. You did think that way, but you were going to be the most surprised girl in the world on that particular day...
The twenty fourth was an happy one for all in town, and you woke up more sad than you ever been. Your bell rang, and you were about to be nasty as ever. Hop was at your door, his smile brighter than a sunny morning. “Merry Christmas ! You mind if I stay with you today ? Don’t worry, that’s okay with my mom and bro’ !” You couldn’t believe it. For the first time in you life, your soulmate will actually be here for Christmas... you let him enter your house, without knowing what to do or say. You felt stupid, silent as the grave.
Before long, Hop wrapped your whole body in his arms, to find the courage to face you as a lover. He never felt so shy, or clumsy. “I couldn’t let you be alone on Christmas... I had to come. I know this is sudden, but to me you’re far more than a friend. You’re...” You didn’t let him finish, you lips met his own, tenderly. Your heart made his call. Your feelings guided you throught the darkness of your hesitation, and made you confess your love with action and not words. It was all new to you... but the best Christmas day you ever lived, because Hop was with you.
G : Games (what games would your soulmate play with you ?)
Hop was still a little boy at times. Playing with his pokemon on a camp was his favourite time after a good battle, or wining against a gym leader. Christmas was also a very good moment to release stress and all pressure he put on himself. But no Christmas was worth it without you, maybe because you were just like him : a pretty good player !
With you, Hop played every games he knew, especially hide and seek in the Sleepwood forest. Leon would be pissed off if he knew you were goinf on this forbidden place so often. This year, your soulmate desired to do something more crazy : tasting every possible curry combination with you ! He gathered a lot of berries, ingredients and found the best cauldron he could’ve found. All was in place, the camp, your pokemon playing around, and the two of you making curry together.
Hop placed a ribbon on your eyes and began to do his mixture with a laugh. Needless to say, you feared the worst for your own taste... it didn’t take long before he yelled triumphly : “It’s ready ! Probably my masterpiece, really !” You took the ribbon off your eyes and looked at him suspiciously. Tasting his curry appeared like a bad idea, suddenly. But you had no choice... and so you did, without conviction, before you coughed loudly. “SPICY !!! GIVE ME WATER !!” Before he could react, you plunged on the river, forgetting it was winter season. You went out in a matter of second, and gave gim a glare. “You’re a demon... now I’m going to catch a cold and it’ll be all your fault ! Just how many spicy berries did you put in there ? You know what... I’ve a perfect punishment for you : no more kisses !”
Hop had his bambi eyes, biggest proof of his dispair. “Like... never ?!” You nodded, ready to play as long as necessary. “What if I make your favourite cakes ?!” He was to cute, you couldn’t resist. You made him wait the whole day for a kiss... and it was the greatest game you ever played.
H : Hot (you don’t need a heating while being with your soulmate…)
Winter time. The season you hated the most. Only Christmas was worth it in this cold moment of the year. Hop was in a bed next to you (after all, it was his mom’s house !), trying to get some sleep after a long day of festivities, but he wasn’t deaf to you being cold. He called your named and came to check on you without warning, making you jump.
“I’m just cold, don’t worry” you explained, a reassuring smile on your face. You thought Hop would return into his bed but instead, he came to yours, wrapping you into his warm arms. “If you needed a heater, all you had to do is ask, sweety...” He joked, without moving. Your bed was too small for the two of you, but you didn’t mind at all. He was your personal heater and you just loved it. In this moment, he was all yours and you were all his.
I : Idiot (the most silly thing your soulmate could do)
Hop was on the top of his roof for a few minutes now. You didn’t realized what he had in mind until he climbed it and frightened all the people in town. His idea ? Put on an homemade decoration. You didn’t see it so you were pretty curious, as well as scared that he could fall and get himself killed. Hop was so reckless sometimes...
You stood here, watching him taking risks until his decoration was in place. It was a garland of letters, brighten than sparkling stars in the sky : I love you forever. Your heart beated in your throat when you saw it, incapable of thinking strait. But when he returned to you, you were in a verge of crying. “You’re crazy, you know that right ? But I love you too... so, so much !”

Jeongguk x hybrid!reader
| part one | part two | part three | part four | part five
Words: 2.4k
Genre: action, fluff, eventual smut if i’m brave enough??
Warnings: nudity (again)

The first thing to pop in Jeongguk’s head as he woke up was The heating’s been fixed, and it’s overcompensating. It was hot in his little apartment. How had he slept like this? Even his sheets were damp with sweat, and for the first time since autumn started the thick duvet layers were stuffy rather than sanctuary.
At least it was up again. That’s good.
Smacking his dry lips quietly, he flapped at his shirt a little to get some airflow. The movement caused whoever was next to him to shift in their sleep with a quiet chuff.
Jeongguk’s eyes shot open.
He hit the floor like a box of pans tumbling down a flight of stairs, and the girl startled awake. “Hey,” she growled, reaching for the duvet he’d unintentionally ripped away. “Give it. M’cold.”
“No! What are you doing in my bed?”
She ignored him, grabbing the duvet and pawing it back onto the bed. “I was sleeping.”
“Why?” he squeaked.
“Apartment’s cold.”
“You can’t just do that - sleeping in people’s beds without asking - ”
“Saved your life. Stop whining.” She pulled his pillow into a tight embrace, nestling the other behind her and tucking herself back in with the duvet. He watched in dismay as she melted right back in.
“I - thanks, but, I think you should…” He was interrupted by a soft snore. All conviction left his voice with a sigh. “…Go.”
Her shoulders rose and fell in a deep sigh, and then she relaxed all at once back into a deep sleep. I guess she did save my life. I shouldn’t be rude.
She looked tired anyway. In the morning light, he was able to see her clearly for the first time since they’d met. The fluffy, rounded little triangles on her head flicked on the pillow. The tip of her nose twitched. She looked at peace - relatively.
Judging by the deep bags under her eyes, it didn’t seem like peace was something she got often. They were dark as bruises. When was the last time she slept? he wondered to himself. There were other features to her indicative of a turmoiled life - small scars, healing bruises, untreated acne, slightly jaundiced complexion. She hadn’t seen the sun in too long, it seemed, or a full meal. There was no softness to her besides the brush of her eyelashes across the cheekbones beneath them.
He sat on the edge of the bed and fussed with his bangs nervously. What now? He couldn’t just leave her to sleep since she could steal something, but it looked like she was going to be comatose for the next few hours. What time was it anyway?
…Where was his phone?
A small panic seized him. Shit - the river!
Jeongguk shot to his feet. It either dropped out of his pocket or got wet, either of which was death to the poor thing. Mumbling a few curses under his breath, he started towards the bathroom. That’s where he’d dumped the mop-load of clothing from last night.
And ugh - the bathroom stank. It was a swamp of unmopped bath and river water, and the polluted grime seemed to have completely permeated his clothing. There were mud tracks everywhere, too. He whimpered at the mess. I barely have enough time as it is, how am I gonna clean this?
The phone was nowhere in the bathroom, so he fluttered over the entry to see if it’d dropped anywhere. “Where is it?” he muttered frantically. Stripes shifted in bed, indifferent.
Mostly.
He was making a lot of noise. If I don’t throw him from the balcony before breakfast I’m rewarding myself with another bath, she thought.
She groaned to get his attention. He didn’t answer, just ducked out the door for a second to check the hallway, muttering to himself frantically.
“Jeongguk,” she groaned. He fluttered back in, kneeling down to check - his shoes? Why is he checking his shoes? “Jeongguk.” A thinly veiled growl this time.
“What?” he said, not really paying attention. Maybe it was between the couch cushions?
“Rice.”
He looked up. “Huh?”
“Rice.” A loose wave towards the kitchen.
He looked at the counter and just about melted in embarrassment. “Oh.” There it was, sitting in a bowl of rice. “T-Thanks.”
All he got was the thump of a tail swatting the duvet in answer. “M’tired,” she repeated. “Quiet.”
“Yeah, I’ll… do that. Thanks, sorry.”
He got a grunt in return. Not very talkative, he noted.
Scooping his phone out of the bowl and brushing the dust off of it, he swiped through his notifications to see if he’d missed anything important this morning. It was nine o’clock. Not as late as he feared, but still four hours later than usual.
“Oh shit,” he muttered all of a sudden. Don’t I have a morning shift?
He checked his calendar, and sure enough. God, the Gim family was going to kill him. He’s never skipped work a day in his life, and it’d be useless to go - all the morning deliveries are done by now. He could see he’d gotten nine texts from Miyun, and cringed a little. The last one seemed angry.
Tumblr media
He groaned, shrinking with guilt. All his regulars probably went without breakfast. Agh, how was he gonna look them in the eye later?
Tumblr media
It’d taken a whole lot of willpower to drag himself away from his apartment and to Gim’s place, knowing that the homeless tiger girl sleeping in his bed could wake up whenever and leave whenever with whatever she wanted. He made sure to hide everything important deep in a shoebox before he left and consoled himself with the thought that nothing else in his apartment is really worth much.
The bus ride over had been stressful, too. He was biting his fingers raw just worrying. Would he be fired? They must’ve lost a whole lot of profit today without deliveries - hell, it was a delivery place. That’s their thing! Shit he was fucked!
By the time he skittered through the doors like the mousy little rodent he believed himself to be, he’d worked himself into a wreck. He wasn’t aware of it either, but he looked horrible. Like a drowned rat. (Not too far from the truth, honestly.) But at the sight of him, all the anger Sungyun had incubated whooshed away in a huff.
“Kid!”
He jumped a little but got sheepish when he registered it was her. Ducking his head as she walked around the corner, he found himself fussing with his bangs. Shaking them out, picking at a few strands, patting it back into place. Another nervous tic. Unbeknownst to him, his fingers were bleeding around the nail beds. The sight made Sungyun frown.
Gently, she took his hands into her own, and he blushed at the sight of his cuticles. Expecting a scolding, he ducked his head again.
Rubbing at his hands gently, she asked, “Why did you miss your shift?”
“I woke up late,” he replied quietly. She knew there was more to it.
“You worked a night shift, too, didn’t you?”
“Yeah.” She narrowed her eyes. “...Then I… fell into a river.”
All the calm concern in her gaze disappeared with her eyebrows shooting into her hairline. Now it was a fiery hot mama-bird concern.
“A river?!”
“The one a couple blocks south of the mini-mart.”
“A river!”
Miyun ducked out from the kitchen. “A river?”
Sungyun started fussing over him then, checking for bruising and other such signs of drowning. “A river!” It would’ve been amusing had he not actually fell into a river last night.
“What about a river?” Miyun asked.
“I fell in one.”
“An actual river?!”
This was ridiculous. He felt a little smirk twitch across his lips. “Yeah, river. As in R, I, V - ” Sungyun swatted him over the back of the head then and called him a brat, but then cooed in apology and started fussing over his skull when he winced. There was no way in hell he’d tell her about the kitchen debacle a week ago. She’d have a stroke or something.
The fussing and following interrogation lasted for another two minutes until he started to gently bat her hands away to which she grabbed at his ear and tweaked it until he squealed.
“Stop worrying!”
“Stop doing things that make me worry, you brat!”
It went surprisingly well, honestly. He left the shop with a solid homemade meal and a sore ear, which was a lower casualty stat than he expected. It was good she’d given him an obscenely huge serving size too - that meant he wouldn’t have to spend any money on feeding his guest. Speaking of which - I hope she hasn’t stolen anything. Best case scenario is she’s just waking up as I get back.
On the way home, he called the moving company and the convenience store to call in sick. He deserved a day off.
Finally, the best case scenario was happening rather than the usual worst. He keyed his way back into the dinky little nest he called home and noticed the steam rolling out of the open bathroom and heard the gentle rippling of water as Stripes took a morning bath, which hopefully meant she wouldn’t be too grumpy. He gently shut the door behind him and toed off his shoes.
The water sounds quieted. “Jeongguk?”
“Yeah, just me.”
The water sounds resumed.
“I got breakfast,” he called. “Come get it while it’s hot. This stuff isn’t good microwaved.” He set up the food on the coffee table as she sloshed her way out of the tub. Her footsteps padded over until she stopped a meter away.
“Smells good,” she murmured. He hummed and looked up at her, only to blush profusely and whip his head in the opposite direction. “Jesus - ” she cocked her head, confused “ - clothes! Please! At least a shirt?”
She glanced down at her naked self, chuffed bemusedly, and padded back into the bathroom.
He let out a tight exhale, preparing himself for whatever interaction came next. How could she be so… unbothered by nudity? She just didn’t care. Hell - the balcony windows were open too which means anyone in the opposite building could’ve seen. Agh. Agh!
She padded back out in a pair of his boxers and a hoodie, striding past him to grab a pair of socks from his dresser. He noted that she was wearing the boxers backward to use the hole for her tail, and giggled a little. Her ears flattened and she glanced at him.
“What?”
“Nothing, nothing.” He took another bite, swallowed. “Come n’ eat.”
They ate. Things were a little awkward at first. He didn’t know what to say and she didn’t invite conversation, so they ate in the relative silence of clicking chopsticks and munched food. Jeongguk finished first, leaning back against the couch to piece together what he wanted to say. She noted the thoughtful expression on his face but said nothing.
Finally, with a sigh. “So, I want to say thanks.”
“For what?”
“For the river yesterday. You didn’t have to.”
“I did.”
He furrowed his brow, confused. She elaborated, voice suddenly quiet, timid. Even vulnerable.
“You saved mine. I wanted to thank you but couldn’t find the chance. You’re so…” she took another bite and cleared her throat, “…busy.”
He blushed a little. She was cute when she wasn’t being all threatening and Grrr, I eat throats for breakfast! “Well, uh, you’re welcome.”
She nodded. “Me too.”
Some of the tension in the room broke, and they physically felt a weight lift off their chests. She finished her breakfast a bit more relaxedly, and he let his eyes close for a bit as she ate.
Something occurred to him suddenly, and he tipped his head back forward to look at him. Her eyes met his questioningly.
“You don’t have a place to stay, do you?”
A heavy question, it seemed. She took her time to answer it, polishing what little was left on her plate.
“I - ” her voice broke, still rusty from disuse but better than before, “ - I can, I can leave. This is your den and I’m sorry… for intruding.”
“No, no! “ He waggled his hands, flustered. “That’s not what I meant! I was just curious. Uh, do you?”
“Do I what?”
“Have a place to stay?”
Her ears flattened, embarrassed. “Not really,” she mumbled. “I don’t.”
Jeongguk nodded, thinking. He posed a hypothetical to himself. If he let her stay, what would life be like? He’d need to feed her since she can’t get a job looking not-like-a-human. It looked like she had a pretty extensive appetite, too, judging from how much breakfast she just ate. She needed clothes, toiletries, maybe even a phone - he could only afford a cheap one but it’d do. That and some of his bills would probably double. Water, definitely. Her baths were going to knock into that budget. It didn’t seem like the dark was a problem for her vision though, so maybe electricity would stay the same? It’d also be warmer, given the changing seasons and how much heat she put off - he was sweating just thinking about this morning. Heating bill might go down. How much money did he make in a month again?
To Stripes, he was unreadable. His brow was furrowed and he was staring at the ceiling over her left shoulder, doe eyes spaced out and glazed. It wasn’t intimidating at all - his brooding - but she didn’t like not being able to read him. Was he trying to find the right words to kick her out? He seemed like a nice kid, one who’d want to punt her to the curb, but gently.
“... What are you thinking?” she asked hesitantly.
He could probably do it. There was some free time in his week that he could fill with another part-time, maybe at Yoongi’s parlor. The barber liked him well enough - even if he was a little intimidating - so maybe he could swing it. He’d have to give him a call later -
“Jeongguk?”
His eyes refocused. “Huh?”
“What are you thinking?”
“Oh, I just… would you want to stay here? Can you?”
Her eyes widened? Did she hear him correctly? There’s no way. Sure, her hearing’s never failed her, but - he couldn’t be serious. “You mean it?” she asked. She was very still.
He shrugged and fiddled with his hoodie strings. “Yeah. If you want.”
Her tail thumped, and for the first time since they’d met, he saw her smile. He couldn’t help but smile back.

Stucky feels cause I'm sad af (Endgame spoilers hoes)
Basically a rewrite for the Endgame ending because that was a sad shit show for the gays so I'll try and fix it.
He sat in the corner of his room crying and crying. He couldn't stop what he was doing even if he really tried. His long brown hair was tied up in a small bun and his white tank top ruffled as the New York night filtered through his window. It always baffles him how they were able to make buildings so tall. Even as he sat in one now he couldn't believe the sights.
They had gone in another mission and it was hard. Hydra was still in his head and shit when he thought he was done with then for good, something would come and drag him back in. A part of him thought this is what he deserved. For all those women he let down and all those men who loved him, who he turned down because he was afraid of himself. His father always told them that if he ever liked a man he would kill him. And then he met Steve.
Poor wimpy Steve who was getting His head shoved in the sand even when he was 5 and even then Bucky protected him. He kicked the boy strict in the back and used language that a 6 year old shouldn't know. With the father he had it wasn't really a surprise. He had served in World War I and it really showed in his paranoia.
He didn't know it then bit he would grow up to love Steve. The wimpy 5'3 man who would never run from a fight. Who would always choose his battles easily because he chose every single one. Steve would not back down and Bucky found himself admiring that, it was something he couldn't do himself and seeing it in a man so little do it made him feel like a coward.
When the draft came around for World War II it's all Steve talked about. He hushed about how his parents would be so proud of they could see him now. Bucky was sad they couldn't. Steve was such a good man and Bucky wished that they were alive to see what kind of boy they raised. But, when the news broke that they died he went with Bucky on his 18th birthday. His aunt let him go and he got an apartment with his pal Bucky.
Bucky slowly started to see Steve's failure creep up on him and there were moments were he thought Steve was headed for the slammer. Faking 4 different enlistment forms could only ask for trouble.
"What happens when they find out, huh? What then?" Bucky yelled at Steve. He came home with another failed form and that was it for Bucky. That was all it took for him to lose his cool
"Then they take me away! Buck I can't just sit here whole everyone is fighting. I feel useless." Steve threw the enlistment form at Bucky and he just stood there. Tears welling in his eyes for the first time since his mother died. Steves eyes softened and they saw how he hurt him.
"Please, Steve. I can't lose you too." He picked up the scattered enlistment form and put it on the short coffee table.
"I know Buck, I'm sorry." They hugged it out that night and although Steve said he wouldn't try to enlist anymore Bucky knew that was a lie. Steve wanted to feel such worth and when Bucky got his enlistment forms checked and approved he could only imagine the way Steve would feel.
He acted happy but deep down Bucky knew that it broke his heart. His best friend was doing what he wish he could and that hurt him. But Buck insisted they celebrate so they could get their mind off of it. He set up a double date with two beautiful dames but all Bucky wad looking at that night was Steve. His awkwardness was so incredibly cute Bucky couldn't help but check up on him almost every minute.
Steve enlisted for the last time that night. I knew it was only a matter of time before the authorities figured it out and took him in. So he gave him an extra long hug and prayed to whoever was out there to keep him safe. Steve told me on my last day with him that he was approved and he would be training and that's the last I heard before I was off for war. It was weird leaving him the morning of, it felt like it wasn't supposed to be that way and maybe it wasn't. But Steve sent him off with a hug and a good luck.
The next time Bucky saw Steve he was rescuing him from a Hydra base. One of the idiots in his infantry gave away their position by slipping on a sheet of ice. Can you believe it? He guesses they liked him because he got the "special treatment" as they called it. He doesn't speak much German but what he could gather was not very helpful to him. He tried everyday, tried to break out of the restraints while they poked and prodded him but eventually he just gave up, until Steve Rodgers burst through that door looking like American vomit. He tore the restraints off and for a second Bucky thought he was hallucinating, maybe all the drugs they have him were finally kicking in.
But, when Steve lifted him up and started talking he knew that after so long apart he wouldn't be able to make this up. Steve threw Buckys arm around his shoulder and he found that Steve was taller than him. Not by much but still taller and it baffles him.
"You're taller." Those were the only words that I could conjure up at the moment and Steve just laughed saying something he couldn't quite hear. He just knew that it was good to be back in his arms again, even if he wouldn't admit it.
He had fought with Steve for a long time, getting attention from the foreign girls that would be at the bars they stopped in. He found myself giving them death looks whereas usually he would be giving them sex eyes. Trying to make it seem like he wasn't just thinking about Steve 2 seconds ago.
When he fell from that train cart the only thing on his mind was Steves face as he watched him fall. The hurt in his eyes before the rail broke imprinted in his brain and he found hinself forgiving Steve as he tumbled to the ground below. It all seemed to slow as he thought about him. He wouldn't be there to take care of him anymore and as cheesy as it sounded Buckys whole life was dedicated to taking care of Steve and he enjoyed it. The ground hit and that was it.
Until he woke up to scientist giving him a new arm. He immediately grabbed one of their necks and started squeezing. He found the the control on this metal arm was weird. It was cold on my skin and when he flexed his fingers around that guys neck he could feel it. Until they put him back under and the rest was a blur.
Steve tells him how they fought and how he totally kicked Buckys butt. He laughs and just shakes his head, He doesn't believe it but giving Steve the satisfaction that he wanted was all he could do. He was no longer under control of Hydra but after having that fight with Tony and the rest of his team he realized that the horrors in his head would never truly stop. He would always be able to be brainwashed and that man from Sokovia had proven it to him once and for all.
Steve watched him go into the cryostasis and it was hard to leave him once again but he said it was best for everyone this way. He didn't want Tony getting a hold of him and he certainly didn't want the government to find gim or the last of the Hydra agents so it was time to leave Steve once again and it hurt more each time.
Fighting Thanos with Steve was something different. It wasn't just America it was half of the whole universe. Half of every living thing would die and he had the power to stop it, or at least help stop it. He lived on Wakanda now, farming and helping with the sheep and horses and such. He never was a farm boy growing up and he certainly wasn't about to start wearing cowboy boots and a hat but he enjoyed the company of animals a lot. They were sweet and understanding and they could laugh at you while you cried on their back. Yes, it happened. Not a proud moment for Bucky.
When Steve arrived it was like a breath of fresh air. It had been months since he last visited and having him here to stay was great, even if they had an alien to fight. It crazy how much people will try to stop something when it means somones else's life. They gave it their all and on the end it wasn't enough.
"Steve?" He felt his legs go out from underneath him and he watched his arm start to crinkle. It didn't hurt, it felt like he was becoming weightless only for everything to go black.
He woke up in Wakanda with Wanda, Groot, T'Challa, and Sam all groaning and clutching their heads in pain. They all looked around and as they started talking yellow sparks flew thoughts arms and the rest is history.
Tony sacrificed his life for the cause and that's something you can't take back. Thanos dusted with his whole army and that was that. Steve returned the stones and came back just like he said he would. And that leads him to right now.
He was chocking out sobs that woke Steve up. He rushed to his side and held him as thunder began to roll through the New York sky. Steve knew that Bucky wasn't good with grieving and he knew that it would be hard to get over this. Bucky and Steve walked to the bed, Bucky curling up on Steve's lap while he let the older man cry. It was rare for Steve to be here for the emotions mainly because Bucky never let anyone see him emotional. He was taught that it was a fatal flaw and it should never show. But with things like this it was okay.
"It's okay, Buck. I know." Bucky sobbed harder and began to drench Steve's bare chest with tears. He hooked his arms around Buckys body and the crying man did the same, making chills run through Steve's body as his cold arm made contact with his back. He didn't flinch, He didn't want to frighten Bucky.
"It hurts so much, Steve." Bucky gripped Steve tighter and cried harder if that was possible.
"I know. But, it'll be okay. I love you, Buck." Bucky didn't reply and his breathing called down. Tears still fell from his eyes to Steve's chest but the older man appeared to be asleep so Steve laid down and held Bucky through the night. Because he was with him til the end of the line.
@theloveintheireyes for making me feel things.

Here it is!
Your first peek at The Dark That Binds Us, my debut novel, due to be released in Fall 2019!
The earth shudders as another dreadnaught drifts over the Dukcha Wood, casting a shadow like storm clouds.
Professor Gim keeps a hand on my shoulder, the both of us crouching as low as we can into the underbrush, waiting for the ground to still and the roar of the engines to fade. Its shadow is so huge that it blocks the sun, already struggling to pierce the thick canopy of the jungle.
I don’t know why I’m holding my breath, but I do, hand over my mouth as the ground finally stills and only the sounds of birdsong and buzzing insects fills the air. Professor Gim’s body relaxes next to me, but our guide Arjun’s body stays tense. When I look at him, his dark eyes are still wildly scanning the canopy, sweat pouring down his face.
Like me, he’s no stranger to invading Adosi ships
“This is…unexpected,” says Professor Gim. She doesn’t sound the least bit rattled. In fact, she’s glowing from the combination of sweat. My heart is pounding so hard, I can hear it in my ears. “I guess that peace treaty didn’t mean much.” She turns to me with a reassuring smile on her tanned face, but it quickly fades when she sees how pale I am.
“Are you well, Verity?” she asks. I nod, but of course, I’m lying. The underside of an Adosi dreadnaught is always an ill omen. I have scars left over from Adosi brutality. A cold knot of dread coils in my stomach at the mere thought of seeing the crimson armor of an Adosi soldier, but I take in a deep breath through my nose, trying to draw in some of Professor Gim’s bravery. I can’t be the apprentice of famous explorer Minji Gim and be a coward.
She pats my shoulder, giving me a soft smile before she turns to Arjun. “Are you ready to lead us, Mr. Kang?” she asks. He seems to be having a harder time calming down. He clears his throat, shaking the sweat from his ginger beard and mustache. He gives a stiff nod, leading us out of the underbrush and back onto the path.
We’ve been in the Dukcha Wood for a week, and we’ve spent three of those days spotting Adosi ships flying eastward to Haseul City. It’s the last bastion of civilization before the jungle and the capital of East Nal Va. I’d be a fool to think those ships were paying a friendly visit.
But Professor Gim has led us with a single-minded determination. Through rainstorms, armed checkpoints, and oppressive heat, Professor Gim has never faltered.
Even though Arjun is the guide, the professor leads us down the trail, her trousers and boots caked with mud. The handles of her pistols glint in her belt. I carry a pistol of my own, even though I hate the things.
“It’s not safe for a woman in most places,” she told me before we departed from New Argent City. “Any student of mind needs to be able to protect herself.”
I took the gun from her with shaking fingers. “Have…you ever killed anyone before, Professor?”
She shrugged her shoulders. “Once.”
Now, she pauses in front of us, kneeling down to look at something in the mud. She waves me over and I rush to her side. A strand of black hair sticks to her cheek with sweat, but her face is glowing with excitement. It’s a struggle to look away from her face and down to where she points a long finger.
“What does that look like, Verity?” she asks me, nearly breathless.
I wipe away some of the mud to reveal a glint of polished stone, a sharpened length of obsidian attached to a turquoise hilt. As Professor Gim fishes her field notebook out of her satchel, I carefully pull the obsidian dagger from the mud and rotate it in my hands. The blade still gleams as though it were shaped just yesterday.
A series of thick, intricate letters carved into the bottom of the hilt tell me exactly why the Professor is so excited.
This is of Witgan make. The characters on the hilt could either be the name of the person it belonged to or the trademark of the smith who made it.
“We’re close,” the Professor says as she puts her notebook away. “We’re so close!”
Already, I can feel the weight of our discovery settling on my shoulders. For years, the scholarly consensus was that the Witgan people never ventured this far north from their cluster of villages and cities to the south of the Aksenti Mountains…not until their decline two hundred years ago forced them to migrate into Ilios. But little discoveries like this dagger put doubt on that theory. Witgan literature is just as rare, but what little pieces of it the Professor found mention temples and shrines erected by Witgan people who traveled abroad to honor their gods and spirits. Of course, they may have been destroyed over the years, but finding just one here would be enough to shift all we know about Witgan history.
Professor Gim plucks the dagger from my hands and shows it to Mr. Kang. He takes it from her almost with reverence, turning the blade over in his hands carefully. He reads the characters on the bottom, tapping them with a finger.
“This belonged to a warrior,” he says, speaking to us in stilted, accented Varterian. “This is their family name, Tu Wabe.”
“Astounding,” Professor Gim breathes, but excitement is cut short by another dangerous rumble of earth. This time it’s accompanied by a terrible roaring sound, like some great beast has been awakened. My body goes cold, and memories of a crumbling, burning city flood my mind. For a moment, I’m a little girl again, watching my home disappear into a crater carved by Adosi bombs.
Professor Gim has to shake my shoulders to tear me away from the memory.
“We keep moving,” she says, that mad determination back in her eyes. “The sooner we finish here, the better.”
I take in a shuddering breath. I didn’t come this far to be cowed. Mr. Kang and I follow the Professor down the trail, deeper into the woods and farther south. The trail disappears into the mud and dead vegetation, and it becomes so dark that even the air chills. The canopy becomes so thick and overgrown that no light can peek through. The humidity creeps away, replaced with the kind of dry cold that proceeds winter. The stench of mold and dead things is stronger here. There were rumors in East Nal Va of the wood being cursed, either by ghosts or malevolent spirits. I’ve never been a superstitious person, but I’m having a hard time finding a logical explanation for the sudden drop in temperature.
I pull a torch out of my satchel, shaking it to activate the mechanisms inside that cause it to glow with a bright, white light. I have no idea how it works, but I can’t help admiring my friend’s ingenuity.
Professor Gim shakes her own torch to life and gasps when she casts the light on a wall peeking out from the trees. I join my light with hers, giving Mr. Kang room to run his fingers over the carvings on the brown stone.
Some of the lettering is faded, but over his shoulder, I can make out the words ‘ruined’ and ‘fallen’ amidst murals of mountains crumbling and people and animals fleeing to escape whatever calamity is being described here.
“The Akiwran’tam,” says Mr. Kang. “When Mt. Aksenti erupted.”
And shortly after that, Ados invaded and took what was left.
“But we’re miles away from Mt. Aksenti,” I say. I raise the torch higher and find that the ground starts to slope up into a hill. Cobblestones poke through the mud and undergrowth. A road. This used to be a road! I leave the Professor and Mr. Kang to follow it, nearly having to fall to my hands and knees to climb up the slippery incline. I breach the tree line like I’m emerging from the water and gasp like I'm taking a breath for the first time in minutes.
A temple rises before me, and I see patches of moss growing over ancient stone hewn with arches, faces, and the bodies of gods and spirits. It rises in terraced levels, each adorned with demonic faces, intricate visages of dragons, leopards, and birds. Some of the temple has fallen, islands of stone invaded by tree roots and rot. It’s silent here. Not even wind whispers through the leaves. I don’t even hear a bird.
“Verity!” the Professor shouts from behind me. “Don’t wander...off...”
Her voice trails into astonishment. She drops her torch, raising her hands to her mouth in shock. Mr. Kang mutters something to himself in Witgan and clutches his heart.
“I knew it,” Professor Gim says with a gasp. “Oh, I knew it. I knew it!”
I’m ready to join her in celebrating before I hear it: a horrible buzzing noise like a horde of locusts is approaching us fast from the east. The sweat that blossoms on my skin tells me what they truly are: Adosi wasps, the smaller ships that hover around their dreadnaughts like flies and peel off the main fleet for reconnaissance or to carry smaller squadrons. There’s no roar of a dreadnaught engine, so these ships are flying on their own.
“We need to get inside,” I say, partly out of fear and partly because I am eager to explore this discovery.  I lead the way inside, and the Professor and Mr. Kang follow me towards the stone archway that marks the entrance. The darkness swallows us, and the stench of dust and mildew waft around us. It’s colder here, and I find myself shivering as I raise my torch to look at the walls. There are scratches on them in several places. There’s an armored figure that repeats several times amidst falling mountains and cracking skies, but each time, their face is scratched or gouged out. When I touch the stone, it’s icy cold against my fingers.
“I...don't know this,” Mr. Kang says beside me. “They were obviously an important figure, but at some point, they must have done something unforgivable. I’ve never seen this before.”
“This day is full of wonderful discoveries,” the Professor sighs. I wonder, does anything scare her?
I let her lead the way deeper into the ruins. I trip over uneven stone, feeling my exhaustion creep over me. They war inside me, the desire to go home, and the urge to see what lies deeper in its ruin. If those Adosi ships keep buzzing around outside, I don’t know if I’ll make it home.
The hallway slopes down and we slip over the wet stone. Water drips from the ceiling. We must be underwater somehow. The hallway opens up into a grand, circular chamber of stone, waterfalls roaring through an opening in the high ceiling and spilling in with the sunlight. The sound fills my ears and rumbles in my chest, the spray of the water dampening my skin and clothes. But it’s what lies in the center of the chamber that draws my attention.
It’s a body.

Old Wounds
…Never Heal.
 "Long time, no see, eh?"
Gim has had a long week. First the Science Police are on his case for "accidently" making a hole in the roof of the Superman museum, then Brainy has been in funk ever since Superman went back to his own time period, which means anybody who even goes near him gets put on boring old monitor duty or worse, and now, dealing with Starfinger. That was the last thing he needed. He doesn't know why, but Starfinger has seemed to get it in his head that Gim is the reason Starfinger is the way he is. I guess being tied to the top of the Legion HQ with a bomb nearby doesn't really help either.
"What the hell are you talking about? You say this every time you see me! I mean, I guess so, technically, I saw you what, about a month ago?"
"Tch, tch, tch, you never seem to get though?"
"Get, what?"
Those words actually seemed to make an effect on Star, unlike everything else he had said up until this point, this guy just loves to talk in circles. He just didn't think it'd make him upset. Not that he cares. Starfinger just rubs him the wrong way.
"…You…you really don't remember do you?..."
"Gee, what do you think?"
"…Maybe…this will help…"
Starfinger moves in closer to Gim, almost touching his force field, then at a twist of his ring, Starfinger's dome is gone. As the mist clears Gim is suddenly face to face with the criminal he almost got killed years ago.
"Hm, recognize me now?"
"…How…how did you survive that crash? No one did. What…what happened?"
"I would tell you, but it really doesn't matter now, you'll be dead within the hour, and only the stars and I will fully know what happened. What you do need to worry about is what I'm planning on doing to you before that bomb blows, not only you, but all of you're "friends" too. Kaboom! There'll only be a star shaped crater where we stand now."
"…What do you want from me? I said I recognized you, wasn't that all you wanted?"
"No. Not even close! I. Want. Revenge. I wouldn't of almost died, if it wasn't for you, catching me the minute I thought I was safe. Oh! The nerve! You've been on my mind ever since then. Every time I try to do a dastardly deed, my mind goes right to 'what if Colossal Boy was here right now, he'd totally try to stop me-"
"You…think about me. Ew. That's a bit…"
"Obsessive. I know. I've thought about it… a lot…and I've realized…that maybe…"
Starfinger's eyes were finally off of Gim. Now's his chance to finally grow out of these flimsy cords and escape…..and risk Starfinger blowing this place sky high. Okay. Plan B. Stay put until other Legionnaires show up and get rid of the bombs. Then pummel Starfinger into stardust. Should probably play along though, keep him distracted until then.
"Maybe…you're crazy?"
"Heh, sorta. Crazy in…love?"
"…Uh, what?"
Gim can barely get that out of his mouth, the shock of what Starfinger just said, has him shaking. This guy is really nuts, and this must be some kind of trick. What does he really want?
"I…I heard that if you think about someone this much, it usually means something akin to love. I have come to terms with that. Clearly you haven't. I bet you didn't even care about me when that transporter ship crashed. I was just useless cargo, huh?"
No, he was wrong, he DID care, maybe a little too much. He would have nightmares about that day, all the screams, all the death, and he only blamed himself. He tried to help all of the effected families, and he would personally say he's sorry to them, but he could never find anything about that one criminal in the brig. Not a thing. Gim would often try to think about what his life was like, what lead him to that type of life style, could he have been a better person if given the chance? He didn't think he would be able to find out. Better late then never.
"I don't even know you're name."
"Char. Char Burrane. I was born on Mars, an orphan, and then decided, hey, why don't I just be evil for a day or two and see what happens. Then you. Then Kaboom! And here we are."
Well, at least he has some answers now.
"You mentioned something earlier about doing something to me before this place goes "Kaboom", what are you planning. You can at least tell me that."
A wide smile and hungry eyes are slowly approached Gim. Char gets close enough to Gim to feel his breath, and touch his chest, as he whispers.
"Haven't you guessed it by now, Starshine? I'm not one to rush into things, I'd rather go slow, but if you want this done quick, than I believe we can arrange something…"
Star hand slowly travels down from Gim's chest to the back of his leg. So gentle. Gim's breath starts to feel hot on Char's neck as he moves his mouth swiftly to Gim's, and he takes what's his. He must of misjudged the the amount of time his Holo-distraction would entertain the other Legionnairres, or maybe it was the kiss that screwed up his sense of time, either way there was a group of angry super-powered "heroes" and…
"Superman!?"
Gim was still in shock of what he just experienced, but hearing Char call out the name of the man of steel seemed to snap him out of it. Speaking of snapping, he figured it was better time than any to break out of these cords. By the time Gim was able to reach his desired size (roughly the size of a double decker bus) Superman seemed to already of tied Char up and was about to fly him to the Science Police.
"Wait! Supes!"
This seemed to throw him off guard, so much so he almost dropped Char.
"Oh! Yeah, Gim are you okay? You've been tied up there with this guy talking your ear off for a while."
That's one way to put it, it does give Gim some relief that no one but Char and him really knows what happened up there.
"The bombs. There are bombs all-"
"Taken care of. And disposed of. Anything else?"
"…I have questions for him, and I need you to take him to the Legion Interrogation room."
What was he doing, yes he had questions, but they weren't too important. Definitely not important enough to bring Char inside Legion HQ for. He just needed to talk to him, to figure things out. To figure out what just happened, maybe Gim was more shaken up then he thought…
"Sure thing! I'll stand by and make sure he doesn't try anything funny."
Superman always knew what to say when something was wrong, the previous feeling of fear and doubt were gone. For now anyways.
"Thanks, Supes. Just stay out of ear-shot, I have a few 'choice words' for him…"
Superman seemed to think that that was humorous, even though that wasn't fully the reason Gim wanted him out of ear-shot. He doesn't know what's going to happen when him and Char are alone again. It could go South so quickly. All he knew for sure was that he definitely did not want Superman in the room when whatever was going to happen went down.

Legion Of Super-Heroes #13
Tumblr media
Warning, Spoilers Ahead…
“State Of The Universe” by Keith Giffen, Tom & Mary Bierbaum, and Al Gordon
The issue opens with the continuation of the Shakespeare – Persuader brawl.
A few children in the pediatric wing of Quarantine worry over Shakespeare. Garridan, the son of Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad, comforts Ivy: “He’s gonna be all right, Ivy. I just know he is. My dad says Legionnaires are real strong. Like they’re real, real hard to kill.”
Garridan is dressed in an adorable version of Colossal Boy’s silver age costume. I wonder if Gim is Garridan’s favorite Legionnaire?
Speaking of Gim, he has arrived at Quarantine and is working with the Science Police to find a way to evacuate patients near the Shakespeare/Persuader brawl.
Gim and Kent unintentionally tag-team the Persauder, causing his capture.
A great introduction for Richard Kent Shakespeare and a nice way to touch in with Garridan, Gim, and the Persuader.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a more of this mature, self-confident, and comfortable in his career Gim.
The Persuader is the second member of the Fatal Five that we have seen in this volume. We’ll see more members later on.
In orbit above Earth: Circe has been called to task by the Dominators – they want damage control, they want results, and they want it now: “When we gave you effective control of Science Police Earth, allowed you to shape Earthgov’s public relations strategy, we expected results. It is time for you to demonstrate that our faith in you was not misplaced…Madame Circe, when you procured the services of Dirk Morgna, you assured us the Earthers would believe anything the ex-Legionnaires told them. We are now holding you to that promise.”
The Darzyl System: Mano, another member of the Fatal Five, reports to Starfinger that the Persuader has failed in his assassination attempt.
Starfinger isn’t happy. It’s not a good day for criminal overlords.
Back to Quarantine.
Science Police Chief Gigi Cusimano credits the Persuader’s arrest to Kent Shakespeare: “If you ask me, the Legion is sorely missed.”
Gigi was a supporting cast member in the Legion’s Baxter series.
Gim offers Kent a lift to Toonar. It’s as close to Winath as Gim can take Kent: “That is, if you’re ready to turn in your scrubs to get back into a Legion uniform.”
“To be honest, I couldn’t get out of here a moment too soon. Once I heard the Legion might re-form, I’ve just been counting the days. Of course, some of the kids out here…it’ll just tear out my heart to leave them. I haven’t even worked up the courage to tell them yet.”
A spying Ivy is devastated to hear Kent’s plans to leave.
An isolated farm on Khundia: a confused Jo deals with an equally bewildered Khund: “You don’t look like a Khund yet you are not a master. You are soft-looking like a Khundish girl, but you have the voice of a man.”
Only a Khund would think Jo, of all people, would have a feminine appearance!
Jo appreciates the wife of the Khund man making a stew for him. The Khunder officer states the stew appreciation is another clear sign of Jo’s brain damage.
Two Dominators, without the trademark head discs, land on the property. Jo uses his ultra-speed to rapidly leave the property: “Bloody liberty! Dominators! I didn’t recognize them without their head discs! A couple of Khund cud-chewers I can handle. But the Dominion? This is getting real weird!”
Jo muses to himself: “Khunds and Dominators together?! Cats and dogs maybe, but Khunds and Dominators? I must be on the Frontier…some world on the fringe of both spheres of influence, maybe? Or maybe U.P. Intelligence is out to lunch, Maybe the Khunds and Dominators aren’t the blood enemies they’re supposed to be. Where the blazes did Roxxas send me?”
For those unfamiliar with the Dominators:  Dominators are a caste-defined society. The size of the red dot in the middle of the forehead indicates their status in the society. The bigger the dot, the higher the status. If a Dominator, doesn’t have a dot, he would be the lowest of the low in the society. A dot can be surgically made smaller or scraped off entirely if the Dominator has lost status in his society.
The Toonar Spaceport: Kent remembers his farewell conversation with Ivy. He attempts to reassure her that he loves her and will be back. It doesn’t go well and ends with Ivy stating: “I hope you die on your first mission.”
Children, so dramatic!
Deep space: Laurel curb stomps some Khunds. She deeply regrets not being on Winath during the battle with Roxxas. “If only I’d just stayed on Winath in the first place instead of running back to Zirr every two days to see how Lauren is doing. Baby daughter or no, I can’t ever forget my responsibilities as a Legionnaire.”
Laurel faces the modern dilemma of many women: motherhood vs career.
The Collingwood Inn on Gnogg: The bald head prosthetic Tenzil shoved on Brek’s head during his Earthgov trial is not coming off. Brek is quite put out and wants it off ASAP.
Tenzil: “Well then, I guess there’s only one thing left to try, now hold still!”
“Ow…ow! That’s my hair, you moron!”
“Hey! What’s going on in here?”
“My god! He’s eating that man’s head!”
“It’s okay! It’s okay! I’m a senator!”
“I’m a senator” is Tenzil’s defense for all of his shenanigans.
Winath: Rokk researches options for the new Legion’s headquarters: “There just isn’t enough room on Brande’s planetoid. And we couldn’t risk bringing down an attack on the U.P. Council, so we gotta stay clear of Weber’s World. But by the same token, we sure as heck gotta get off Winath before someone else attacks the plantation”.
Garth interrupts – he and Rokk were supposed to get in a round of links.
“So what’s the big headache? You need a new headquarters? How’s that a problem?”
“Things aren’t so simple anymore, Garth. The Legion doesn’t have the kind of friends it used to.”
“Well, you’ve still got one friend you can count on. Consider your headquarters problem solved.”
“You don’t mean here? We really couldn’t stay.”
“No, no…I’ve got something a little better suited to your needs, Rokk. Trust me.”
Before Garth can reveal the location of the new headquarters, he spies Furrball (Brin) in a hallway: “Hey, look who just wandered in! I guess Kono’s going to be relieved!”
Brin wanders past an arguing Querl and Celeste: “I’m fine! So I have a tendency to glow green. So what? Green’s a lovely color. You should appreciate that more than anyone.”
Kono encounters Brin: “There you are, you big stupid furball! What the Nykx do you think you’re doing, disappearing on us for days like that? I don’t know whether to hug you or kick your stupid butt to Tombor.
Violet overhears Kono’s dressing down of Brin: “She can sure dish it out! Wish I had her brass when I was that age. But I didn’t come down here to admire out latest Firebrand. I’ve been putting this off long enough. It’s time to take care of business.
Violet enters the room and asks Rokk if he “has a sec”. Garth hastily excuses himself.
If you haven’t read the “5 Years Later” series, Rokk and Violet’s home planets, Brall and Imsk, went to war during the five-year gap between the Baxter series and the present series.
Violet voluntarily joined her planet’s military during the war, Rokk was drafted.
Imsk’s military scientists created a doomsday weapon to use against the Braalians. Violet served as the chief of security during the project’s development. Violet protested the actual use of the weapon.
The weapon is deployed. Rokk is onsite at the weapon’s deployment at Venado Bay. The weapon strips Brallians of their native magnetic abilities. It also causes death and dismemberment.
Rokk loses his abilites and is badly injured and deeply traumatized in the immediate aftermath of the weapon’s deployment. Violet is also there – she is deeply appalled at the carnage she witnesses. Violet recognizes Rokk and approaches him.
The badly injured Rokk does not recognize Violet and lashes out, causing her to lose an eye and suffer facial scarring.
Violet is imprisoned by the Imskian military for her protests and refusal to take back her criticism of the weapon and its deployment.
Rokk and Violet both suffer long-term PTSD from the events of Venado Bay and the war in general.
Back to the present day.
The duo awkwardly attempts to start a conversation.
Rokk begins: “Look, Vi, I know you’re upset. And you have every right to be. All those months you spent in prison, protesting Venado Bay, and I didn’t even have the courage to thank you. I don’t know what my problem was. I guess I was afraid you’d never forgive Braal for attacking your planet. Or forgive me for so blindly obeying Braal’s lousy leadership.”
“Rokk, don’t…I’m the one who should be apologizing…I’m the one…who helped kill all those…god.”
“’C’mon, Vi. It’s gonna be okay.”
“I told…I told myself I wasn’t going to fall apart like this…”
“You’re entitled.”
By the end of the conversation, both Rokk and Violet are crying.
One of my favorite moments in the series. Neither Rokk nor Violet magically healed their PTSD or emotional trauma but they’re on the road to healing.
Kathoon: A heavily pregnant Lydda is reading a letter from Rokk: “You know, Lydda, that woman has never forgiven herself for just doing her duty. Did I mention the scar she has over her eye? Vi told me she got it over her eye? Vi told me she got it at Venado Bay. She say’s she’s never having it removed. She never wants to forget what happened there. What she did. It just made me want to keep hugging her until the whole thing disappeared forever. But I guess Venado Bay will never go away. It’ll always be with us. Both of us.”
It’s safe to assume Violet didn’t inform Rokk that he caused the scar. Violet correctly assumed the revelation would only add more guilt to the emotional turmoil caused by Venado Bay.
The “hugging” line adds another dimension to Rokk’s character. Starting with the 5 Year Later series and continuing through the reboot, the three-boot, and the retro-boot, Rokk has been portrayed as the serious, no-nonsense, all business leader of the Legion. It’s nice to see a sweet, comforting side of Rokk.
The letter continues: “Now that we’ve finally nailed Roxxas, I’ve got to get going on the arrangements for Blok’s memorial. Brainy says it’s too soon to make it a double ceremony so we haven’t completely given up hope on Jo yet. But damn, it’s hard to get over Blok. I guess I never realized how important he was to us all until he was gone.”
Rokk ends his letter with “It really is happening. Uniforms, headquarters, roll call. The Legion is officially back.”
Lydda excitedly yells “All right!”
The next few pages consist of a Brande Industries Memo from Marla Latham to Reep Daggle.
Volume 1: Disposition Of Known Universe
Currently the known universe is divided into these political entitites.
1)      The Khundish Empire, 32%
2)      Independent, unaffiliated, disorganized, 29%
3)      United Planets, 24%
4)      The Dominion, 9%
The memo states Khunds have conquered Lallor, Sklar, Tsauran, and Rann.
The Dominion is in a state of collapse “as worlds on the fringe continue to achieve independence”.
The memo notes the Dominion’s attempt to enslave the now-decimated Daxamite race and the “alleged secret domination of Earthgov”.
The extent of the Dark Circle remains unknown but may be as large as the Khundish empire.
Volume 2: Growing Threats
1)      Mordru
2)      Glorith
The memo notes the “destruction of magic at the conclusion of the Mystic Wars have proven totally erroneous. While the greatest known nexus of Magic was destroyed with the old Sorcerers’ World, many known ‘sympathetic points’ remain, most notably Tharn, the new Sorcerers’ World, as well as Orando and Venegar.
Volume 3: The United Planets
1)      Current operations include “directing traffic, organizing defense, and enforcing the rules of the Recovery Initiative”
2)      Compliance remains low, U.P. membership is still far below pre-Collapse levels
3)      U.P. Militia has gained respectability as a barrier to Khundish encroachment
4)      The critical blow to the U.P.’s collapse was the secession of Earth
5)      The United Planets and the Science Police have relocated to Weber’s World
6)      The corruption of Science Police Earth has undermined the credibility of all S.P. agencies
7)      Organized crime has flourished.
8)      Molock Hanscomb (Starfinger) of Darzyl is the most powerful figure in the underworld.
9)      Leland McCauley III has emerged as the richest businessman in the United Planets. Rumors suggest that Leland McCauley IV has wrested control of the business from his father.
Volume 4: Earth
1)      “With poverty and paranoia flourishing on Earth in the wake of the Great Collapse, that planet has lapsed into a period of uncharacteristic xenophobia and acquiescence to authoritarian rule. It is now alleged that the population has been manipulated and covertly ruled by the Dominion.”
2)      Resistant forces have opposed Earthgov since 2990.
We end with an interlude featuring Glorith and the Time Trapper.
The Trapper informs Glorith of the “timelines that proceeded yours…what you owe me.”
He further reveals that “Mon-El obliterated my form, not my essence. All that was destroyed were my works.”
The Trapper and Glorith are referring to events that took place in issues #4 – 5.
Trapper continues: “I’ve seen how you performed my acts, lived my life to frustrate that poor fool Mordru once again. How you’ve become the new Time Trapper…but understand this, without me you can lose everything.”
Trapper issues the traditional “without me, you will fail but together we can rule the universe” speech.
Glorith rejects the offer, devolves Trapper into protoplasm and absorbs his essence. I don’t feel bad for Trapper as he did the same thing to Glorith in the Silver Age.
Glorith decides now is the perfect time to conquer the universe.
A great issue that wraps up the previous plot lines and sets up future storylines. The issue is a terrific example on how to handle a large cast – we checked in with 14 Legionnaires and 5 sets of villains.
