hi just went through your block party au tag that is such an interesting and fucked up thing. mind talking more about exile. or the prison. i'm so interested.

ALWAYS. ALWAYS can i just say i was absolutely floored to have this in my inbox its been AGES since ive sat down and thought consistently about block party ...

exile . i cant remember how much ive talked about it ... tommy is more or less banished from the lmanburg House (wilburs house (schlatts house (now tubbos house) )) and is living with dream . dreams house is decrepit but manageable - tommy is contrastingly unmanageable at least in the beginning, trashing the place and causing problems while dream goes out all day to do who-knows-what (probably try to get george out of his awesome acid-based stupor) . tommy is routinely punished for rebelling through increasingly intensive rounds of isolation and destruction of things he owns (all shit we see in exile canonically) .

such an important part of exile is that it all starts small ... tommys got pictures and mementos and junk and of course those go to the chopping block, but the little shit in the beginning is like. throwing out snacks. no hot water. no sitting on couches. no mattress. escalating and getting worse . this stuff evolves from "not being allowed to go home" to "not allowed to leave dreams property" to "not allowed to even go inside". anything he scrounges up or things that ranboo might leave him are destroyed. eventually the awesome dog chain is introduced. the equivalent of tommy waking up drowning in the ocean is tommy also waking up drowning, this time in dreams disgustingly neglected for koi pond (same koi pond he bashed his brains against when dream shot him in the duel) . the timeframe is still wintry, like nov/dec and he still spends christmas out in the snow, this time with stupid dog chain secured, huddled against the locked back door while inside patches purrs and dream plays tommys disc (whichever one he had at that time i cant remember) .

i feel like a big aspect of exile in bp is that for the most part, tommy can still sort of see things happening. hes chained in dreams backyard but if he stretches he can see the cars coming up and down the street, he can hear the shouting from the block over, he can see the neighbors going about their lives and throwing the frisbee for their dogs. hes become an outsider but hes no longer removed in the way he is in canon dsmp

that christmas stream where dream gives him the picture of the lmanburg christmas tree .... haunting lol. idk its the little things . some sort of picture taken of the lmanburgians actually in that little house with the boarded windows and the panelling all smiling with the stupid tree in the middle, just a crappy polaroid or disposable camera pic for him to hold on to .

exile ends with that final destruction of his shit , a suicide attempt via drowning in koi pond AGAIN, and the rediscovery of the knife tommy brought to the first duel which he uses to pry/destroy the base holding the dog chain into the ground & then running off through to snow toward technos house, who in bp is the equivalent of an overgrown eagle scout with an armored jeep (this is the wither) (he ran it into the lmanburg house) and a lot of weapons & you know how the rest of it goes .

for clarification that is meant to be techno but h thought it was dream and said his lord farquaad cut was funny

the prison is such a fun place it is sams basement. heres an image that i sent h months i guess over a year ago

sam padlocks the hell out of the door at the top of the stairs . after the final confrontation which, honestly, was never discussed so we'll have to come back to that one, sam (neighborhood watchdog type) is tasked with taking care of dream and making sure he's unable to harm other members of society. the exile dog chain comes back in order to restrain him and as an added precaution for keeping him away from everyone else. its around his ankle (compared to tommys neck) and he can just barely reach up the stairs with it on.

tommy begs sam to let him visit - sam reluctantly agrees - sam monitors while tommy visits - sams place is attacked - tommy is padlocked in with dream. theres like a doggy door style situation in the door to the basement through which sam can give them food & communicate . this is also how the cat comes and goes - we decided against killjng the cat bc we are pussies so instead it just runs off and dream throws a fit

so in any other situation tommy would be able to evade dream by just living at the top of the stairs, but dream is able to snap the chain during tommys stay and thats no longer an option . tommy cant be let out because dream is no longer secure & his escape isnt a risk theyre willing to take .

so the cat runs off, dream is at his limit, tommy meets an untimely demise (gets his skull caved in either against the unfinished concrete floor or with some miscellaneous basement object following a nice time being flung down the basement stairs), dream refuses to "bury" him and so he isnt revived for a few days (in bp in order to be revived the face has to be covered before the sun rises, idr why we went with that mechanic but it makes for some fun situations ... leaving bodies unburied OR burying they incompletely can make for some fucked up revivals, see cfundy/ckarl/cwilbur-to-ghostbur)

idk i dont know what else to say. tommy is stuck in the basement of a man he trusted with the person who tortured him and is completely helpless unless its grappling with his bare fucking hands, which it eventually becomes and even then hes just not strong enough . the inside of his mouth is absolutely shredded by his braces. the basement smells like death for months.

Do you suspect that we'll soon see Madam Red AKA Rachael's sister Angela, as a bizarre doll acting as a nun doctor/nurse at the F.O.L. orphanage?

Madam Red at F. O. L.?

No. And not just because I don't think she should be brought back as a bizarre doll.

Storytelling-wise, it won't help anyone for her to be at the orphanage. Makes sense for Doll to end up there, since this might give Snake some closure... while it emotionally scars him. And one bizarre doll there is enough.

But Snake never met Madam Red, so she would mean nothing to him. Finny did briefly meet her, but he has no personal ties to her... and he knows she's dead, so seeing her there would probably make Finny go into berserker mode or something. Automatic red flag 🚩 for sure! If someone he knows is dead shows up there, it would take all his attention away from Doll, and that could be disastrous.

Besides, which blood type would Madam Red require... or would she be more like Agares at Weston? There already isn't enough blood to go around for the lords of the stars. And, unless Layla/Al needs to be replaced, there's no need for another advanced bizarre doll. Madam Red could only replace Layla/Al if their blood types are the same. We also have to keep in mind the fact that these assignments are happening at the same time:

Mey-Rin and Ran-Mao are dealing with Jane and Heathfield, who each mention the idea of reviving the dead with souls of the same shape. Blood is definitely being collected. There's no reaper present, and everyone survives. Jane leaves but gives a cliffhanger that she might return. Heathfield is arrested. Polaris gets the details and reports back to Undertaker and real Ciel.

Baldo and Lau are getting help from Ada and a reaper (Ronald) while dealing with a bizarre doll (Layla/Al) and delivery people for the blood that's obviously being collected. So far, the only deaths have been those delivery people sent by the Aurora Society (and a couple unfortunate pigs). William shows up just in time to help Ronald with Layla/Al. But there is a huge cliffhanger here, because we don't know:

If Ronald and William get Layla/Al to the reaper organization.

If Baldo and the others get out of and completely away from the sanatorium before the Aurora Society finds out and sends someone, like Polaris, after them.

What report will be made to Undertaker and real Ciel, by whom.

Finny and Snake should get help from someone (not sure who just yet) to deal with Doll (and possibly someone else on the staff). We haven't met the head chef and some of the other staff members, and there's still a chance for a reaper to show up. If we don't see a reaper, chances are good that everyone at the orphanage survives (except Doll, but only by default). I'm hoping that Finny and Snake can save Ginny (the Corgi girl who isn't fond of horses) from her premature fledging day. But there's so much going on here, and I'm not sure how Theo holds the key to it all... unless he starts talking about Doll's other "friends", since he's already shown discomfort when Doll refers to Snake and Finny as her friends. There might be another major cliffhanger, or we might get an outcome with a report. Idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

Our earl and Sebastian are at the resort hotel in Brighton, and all we know is that the person who runs it is associated with the Aurora Society, the quality is top-notch while the rates are low, and some people supposedly like the place so much that they extend their holidays to stay. Honestly, I think that's (mostly) a lie... and that the truth is more like people are being kept against their wills (kind of like all those maids being drugged at Heathfield's manor) for blood collection. They might not keep everyone, but they must be keeping quite a few beyond their original plans. Those who are still there of their own accord, however, probably are quite pleased with the services. Some might be giving blood willingly, believing it's a health benefit.

Again, all of these assignments are overlapping in the timeline. That means Finny and Snake are at the orphanage and already interacting with Doll before Ronald and William capture Layla/Al. At this time, no one knows that Layla/Al might be incapacitated. So, there's no known need to replace a lord. And I doubt Undertaker keeps backups ready to go. Not when we are talking about such advanced bizarre dolls.

Only the last assignment, with our earl and Sebastian at the resort hotel, might continue past the other three. Reports might reach them about the other assignments while they are still there. Undertaker and real Ciel might show up at the end of the Brighton assignment, forced to confront our earl and Sebastian directly, because the other three facilities have been shut down by our earl's other helpers.

By then, what point would there be in someone saying to our earl that Madam Red's reanimated corpse showed up at the orphanage in Norfolk? No point at all. I mean, I guess he'd be shocked, since he attended her funeral and, presumably, also her burial. So, it would anger him that Undertaker would either dig her body back up or bury her casket without her body inside. But... it truly might not hit him too hard without seeing her himself. So. Really not much point, story-wise, for her to be at the orphanage, where our earl doesn't see her with his own eyes.

theories and tidbits to remember is.at masterpost is a go - SPOILERS GALORE UNDER THE CUT.

is siffrin their real name? they seem to be poking at themselves at least once when they ask what kind of person can't remember their own name... is siffrin one they made up? like the king did?

obvious big question is the island. no mention of a scent of sugar i can find, and similarities to the time flashes we get when picking up stuff we already have suggests time shenanigans

BUT the red meaning breaking could also mean it's like.. some kind of shield? a shell? someone WANTED the island to be forgotten but its still there...? again i've seen enough to think i can get better info from loop so that's a big pin in that. heh...

the sadnesses that smell like sugar. i tried really hard to get siff to comment on that, especially after they fully understood what wishcraft is, but no dice. so for now i'm rolling with the idea that, given how helpful they are, the smells and the stars in their design/battle screen that they are part of siffs wish.

....sorta makes you wonder if they show up when siff isnt there

...maybe loop sent them...? that. would also provide enough prove of their ability to interfere (somewhat) subtly with the party to explain how they made it through without siff that one time..

they could also be a part of the kingdoms wish. little friends to help the saviors with their savior-ing..

why are colours gone? they didnt forget how to see them - they're just gone! where did they go. did it happen around the same time the island vanished? it sounds like that was p recent (bonnie 'remembers' forgetting, they are quite young) whereas colours disapearing is treated as a great historical mystery... so no? maybe not...

who. who cloned themselves? wheres the other one? i think this is a loop related quandry.

did the king stay at the house before taking it over...? the observatory seems to be being set up as his space, the attempts to write a forgotten name in a forgotten tongue.. the stars... idk i know there are others from their island around so it may be a co incidence

i dont think the other room is his. it's clear whatever happened there happened a long, long time ago. the books are moldering away - thats not a recent thing.

the death song sounds like laughing. its a fun touch. are the mal du pays laughing at us...? they probably should be..

that boss name is a kick in the teeth (/pos)

how do get in locked house in village? it needs a word to unlock but i never learned any more phrases for that. i know the person comes out at the end but there has to be a way in.. right?

what the heck kinda high level craft user is siff? they pull off major wish craft BY MISTAKE???? a forgotten art likely unique to their land. combined with the cloak i feel like. they used. to be someone very important... i wonder if we'll ever get info to follow up on those tidbits, given particular attention is drawn to the cloak on purpose.

OH I FORGOT. the sweet smell during wish magic and the fact siff is perpetually hungry, as well as the way they loop being a tug on the stomach. that feels... at least somewhat likely to be connected right? it still doesnt explain why siff has the ability but it might at least explain what's fueling it and why he has to eat so much (and why not eating for two days is what finally stopped him)

...i think that's all i got for now. i'll. probably come back and add more as i go. little frazzled tbh.. it's. a lot. and my brain will be rolling it around for weeks no doubt.

If am//rshipping becomes canon i will riot i swear. literally anything else is... not fine, but more or less acceptable. ash and serena barely spoke to each other, they havent spoken in months. any other xy character (cough clemont cough) has had better interactions with ash at this point. if they make am//r canon now it would be out of nowhere. im fine with them not even meeting tbh if thats what it takes to have it not become a thing. this isnt hate to the fans of that ship btw, i just think it wouldnt make sense narratively right now. literally anyone else is alright, even misty, like you said, because at least they have 11 episodes together now.

Gonna put Amo//shipping on blast so those of you who are fans of it please keep scrolling lol

Anyway yeah. YEAH. Generally I'm very open minded about ships and tend to enjoy just about everything, but Amo//shipping is just. It's the one. It's the ONE I cannot stand, my only true notp, the one I can actually say I have a very intense dislike if not hatred for. Which is a strong word but god,,

I've ranted before about why I don't like the ship and why I think they'd work better paired with literally anyone else so I won't repeat all the same shit I've said about it for years now lmao but. Anyway. Hard agree. Especially since they kinda stopped developing any sort of progression in them potentially "getting together" at the end of XY. The one time Ash and Serena saw each other after that was super fleeting and Serena wasn't falling over herself to get his attention and Ash didn't even bring up the kiss at all, or make any sort of indication that "Oh hey yeah she kissed me and now I'm all shy around her/might have feelings for her". There's been NO hints since XY which is the one relieving thing about this bc if they decided to make it canon now it'd feel very rushed and out of nowhere bc there's been zero development throughout all of Journeys. And unless they plan to take several episodes of the epilogue miniseries focusing on their relationship (which I HIGHLY doubt) I don't see it happening. There might still be a chance which is why I'm still sitting here like "ONE FEAR" but I'm trying to convince myself we're safe from it becoming canon lol

And yeah narratively it doesn't make any sense. It doesn't really make sense for any Ash-centric ship to become canon as of right now, but idk what exactly the miniseries is going to do. I'm assuming tying up loose ends and hitting on whatever things Journeys didn't get to touch on but I don't know for sure? We'll just have to wait and see I guess

I am very much like you. I manage and keep my expectations very low for my ships. Like the cell block episode, I was one of the few who was like let's not get ahead of ourselves. And I was grateful because it was a great episode and lead to great things but had I wrote a different story in my head I would have been disappointed

So that's why I hate that all this us making me excited. The promo, the using of Ryan and Oliver. Even 2 weeks ago the nervous Buck arriving at Hens.

I actually feel comfortable getting in my head and I kind of hate it because I don't want it to be underwhelming.

I guess I was wondering where you were at head space wise after all this? Feeling very confident? Because I was honestly thinking if they went Canon in 6 it would be the end of the season and now I feel like shit could it really be the hiatus.

First of all, I hope it's okay to send you a hug! I get that feeling of being torn between like that initial buzz of excitement that things might be moving in that direction on the one hand, and the desire not to be set up for disappointment.

I have to say, I've seen the fandom getting SO excited and sure that canon Buddie was going to happen after 303 and Eddie's "there's nobody I trust in this world with my son more than you," after 309 with the kitchen flirting (that one had especially nasty fallout when 310 came and went without any canon Buddie), ahead of s4 when people started speculating Buddie spent covid as roommates, after the shooting in 413 and ahead of s5, around 506 as we started learning details about Buddie being held together at gun point after the shooting arc, around 517 when we gathered that Eddie was going home and he was going to confront Ramon and a lot of people thought it would be revealed that Eddie was punished by his dad for being gay. I also tried to assess the likelihood of this, because it was implied we'll learn about some unknown until now trauma, and I was wrecking my brain to find something that would fit Eddie, that would fit the tone of the show (i.e not too dark) and that wouldn't just be more of the same stuff we already know. Turned out, it was more of the same toxic masculinity stuff we knew about.

The thing is, it would have made sense for Buddie to go canon at any one of those points. It would have made sense to unveil some teenage experience that made Eddie suppress any same-sex attractions he might have only started becoming aware of. And yet none of that happened, so I'm glad that I did manage my expectations, and kept reminding myself that just because it's fun to scream now, doesn't mean I won't be disappointed later.

Obviously, I would rather not be disappointed during actually watching the eps. So, if I'm not married to a specific scenario I built up in my head, I end up being much more content while watching. And of course, as I said here, I do wanna feel happy about the show even if Buddie will never become canon. But more than that, I do wanna believe that eventually we will get canon Buddie. Because nothing else will ever fit either one of those guys, and because I wanna believe in our show being brave enough to go there.

So if and when we do get canon Buddie, I know that celebrating it, screaming and jumping up and down, and just basically losing my goddamn mind would be that much better, precisely because it's not something I'm doing constantly, every time there's a shadow of a possibility that it'll happen soon. I'm reserving all that for when it's the real thing, and that's gonna make how hyped I will be when it finally happens special and that much sweeter.

So am I seeing signs that might mean Buddie could go canon in s6? There are some. IDK that I would say they're definitive. We've had both Buck and Eddie be single at the same time with both of them getting out of meaningful relationships before. Ryan and Oli doing an interview together is awesome, but it's one interview that we know about so far, right? Not more than that. So maybe it's meaningful, or maybe it's Fox feeling 911 needs to do more promoting for its ratings, and why not send in the most popular pair on the show? Based on experience from previous fandoms, I don't put much stock into social media stuff. It's why I wasn't that distressed when Ryan and Oliver unfollowed each other, and it's also why, while I'm glad they've re-followed each other, I wouldn't try to read too much into it. Much like the interview, it could be very meaningful, but it might be about something we're not even aware of and that has nothing to do with Buddie going canon.

So I'm very much in my cool, calm and collected element, which IMO is a good thing. It's not me being Debbie Downer. It's me saving the celebrations for when 911 takes us all out like a freaking sniper in the middle of a shooting arc. Too soon? ;) Sorry, my sense of humor is lame. But I hope that in spite of me not being hyped, this reply isn't a disappointing one to you, darling! xoxox

Okay because there's only three episodes left (🥲) and because why not, here are my predictions for the rest of s1 of Andor (and some of s2):

Cassian and Melshi (and probably others) escape Narkina 5.

Kino doesn't make it :(

He's either a) killed when he almost makes it to freedom or b) sacrifices himself so the others can make it.

Back on Niamos, Cassian is able to get his stuff back from where he was staying with Windi (the woman he was with).

Idk I could be wrong, but Nemik's manifesto seems kinda important to just drop out of the plot. Same with Clem's blaster.

So Cassian gets his stuff back, whether he has to track it down or meet with Windi (who maybe thinks he ghosted her when really he was arrested and stuck in an imperial prison ahahaha not fun times).

Back on Ferrix, everyone is there (Syril shows up for.. probably thinking he has the ability to take matters into his own hands. At one point I would have said he and Dedra work together, but after ep.9 I highly doubt she'll want anything to do with him ever. Unless she can use him to her advantage).

Cinta is already on Ferrix, and just for finale reasons (possibly still being ordered to kill Cassian reasons) Vel ends up back there too. (Also then they can kiss <3)

Cassian gets back to Ferrix and sees everything has gotten Even Worse.

Maarva dies shortly after Cassian's return. (Sorry to Cassian, but I'm waiting for a crying scene and this is it). I'm going to go with she just dies from old age. Maybe right before Dedra can use her to get to Cassian too (HA).

We see the timeline with young Cassian again, around when he's adjusting to life on Ferrix. Maybe we see his relationship with Clem and Maarva, maybe... Even young Bix? To be shown alongside Cassian learning what happened to Bix in the present.

I think that would work in the final episodes for a few reasons. A) it would feel very full circle to return to young Cassian at the end as that's where the season started, and b) as this season ends, I don't think it will be necessary to have flashbacks anymore. Idk if we'll even return to Ferrix next season. (More on that later).

Luthen... Dies??

Feeling unsure over that, but currently Luthen and Maarva hold a somewhat similar role. I wouldn't go as far to say Luthen is a parental figure to Cassian, as they barely know each other. Yet it's a sort of mentor role (or could be if they worked together more), and with Cassian presumably officially joining the rebellion by the season's end, it might be time for Luthen to go.

Another thing with Luthen is that he's a connecting piece. The biggest example, being that he was the primary go-between for Coruscant-things and the Aldhani team.

Which leads into another prediction: Mon is found out and has to leave Coruscant by the finale. (Granted, this could happen next season. But I stick by the fact it feels like a finale thing).

And if Mon is found out, well... We no longer really need Luthen to jump between those two spheres.

(And there's still Vel if we need to).

Also with Luthen, there's a lot of talk on him "slipping." Kleya is a firm believer of this. That has to lead somewhere and his death is one guess.

The empire is after Luthen too! Cassian too, but they can't get him for Rogue One-related reasons. (Aka, bad news for Luthen).

Other deaths: this is is largely me speaking from a place of fear, but Vel, Cinta, and Bix ALL make it out alive.

Yes... One of them could die. BUT... We have 4 more years to cover and these characters imo have a ton more story left to be told. While I feel highly doubtful anyone will make it to the s2 finale beside Mon, Melshi, and Cassian - at this point I'm letting myself believe the girls are safe and will still play a vital role in s2.

(Side note: fingers crossed Melshi gets a ton of screentime in s2 <3) (Imagine the trio of Cassian, Kay, and Melshi. I'm begging for it!!)

Brasso? I hate to say it, but I think he could die. :( Especially if we don't return to Ferrix in s2, there's a chance he doesn't make it.

If Maarva does die, Bix is really the only other big character left that's tied to Ferrix. Yet out of all the Ferrix characters, I could see her leaving Ferrix for the sake of keeping her in the story.

OR, she stays behind and becomes the reason to return to Ferrix in s2. This is all just speculation since idk whether Ferrix is confirmed for s2 or not.

Oh and B2. Considering he's made to fit the idea of "old family dog"... I'm afraid :(

Biggest point of the finale though is: Ferrix changes forever and so has Cassian.

Maybe s2 even ends with Cassian leaving Ferrix with whoever is left. Like his own little crew :')

Dedra and Syril also make it to s2, but I have nooo idea what they'll be doing in it. They can only be after Cassian for so long lol.

OH!! Last thing: Kerri

This late in the season, I don't think Cassian will ever see her again.

I think we will learn more about what possibly or did happen to her (this could pair with more flashbacks to young Cassian).

Yet with time running out, I'm less and less hopeful this will have a happy ending.

And given Cassian has yet to get a moment to clearly express how Maarva is the one that separated him from Kerri, the time around Maarva's death would be an interesting time to bring it up. Or better put, complicated.

One week had passed, and ever since you were stuck in your room, only allowed to come out to go to school, to eat, and bathroom breaks. Other than that, no luck getting out from your little prison. And you were warned to not sneak out again, or another week would be added. You didn't bother trying, as much as you hate to admit it, your brothers were smarter than they looked. They knew every move you would make and would do everything in their power to stop you.

However, you were allowed to have your phone back. They were s confident that if you were to try and call for backup, they would stop it from happening. You made the best of it though, at least you had someone to talk to now. Emma wanted an explanation as to where you had disappeared to lately and you told her you were grounded, well, double grounded now. When she asked why, you hesitated to tell her. But you did, after she promised not to tell Smiley and Angry of course. She did say that you should tell them why you started that fight in the first place, but...it was a bit more complicated than that.

So, here you were, in your room looking blankly at your door. Every now and then Smiley or Angry, or both of them, would come and check to see if you were still there. Speaking of, your door opened, Angry walked in this time. "Right on time, big brother." You mutter, not bothering to look at him. "Smiley had to run out somewhere real quick. So, I'm gonna stay here until he gets back." He leans against the door after he shut it.

"Whatever." You rolled your eyes. The silence between you two was heavy with tension and awkwardness.

"...Sorry about before. But you really shouldn't have tricked us like that." You didn't respond. "Come on. You're acting childish."

"I am a child dummy. And so are you, so stop acting like your our mother." You glared at him. "Oh, and you wanna talk being childish? You two get into fights every fucking day, and you two rarely ever get punished for it! So how come I get double grounded!?"

"You get double grounded for sneaking out. And you shouldn't be getting into fights at all. As for us, it's different." Angry explained as calmly as he could. "That's bullshit and you know it!" You snapped. "You wouldn't be saying any of this if I were in the same gang as you two!"

"You won't be joining any gangs of any kind!" Angry finally snapped back. It was rare that he would ever raise his voice at you, so you were at a loss for words. Once he saw your shocked face he toned it down. "Just...don't do it again. Please Y/n, you shouldn't be fighting."

And then came more silence. You and Angry never liked whenever there would be a fight between all three of you. But tension had build up ever since you got into that stupid fight. And honestly, you knew that it didn't need to happen but after what happened...after what those jackasses said...What choice did you have?

"Why did you do it anyway?" Angry asks, making you look up from your bed. You opened your mouth to answer, but shut it before looking away again. "Does it really matter?" You asked. "It's done. Nothing I can do about it now."

Before Angry could respond, Smiley walked in. "Heeey, she try to get out again?" He asked. "No..." Angry shook his head. "But she's hiding something." You shot him a glare. "Oh, so we're telling lies now?"

"I don't know, are we?" Angry turned to his brother. "When has Y/n ever started a fight? She rarely gets into fights, and normally she isn't the one to start some shit." Smiley nods his head at his brother's words. "That's a good point. So, wanna talk to us like a big girl?"

"No. Get out." You tell them sternly. "Too bad!" Smiley hopped on your bed and sat beside you. "Better start talking sis."

"Or what?" You challenged. Smiley's grin deepened. "Or else your double grounding will turn into a triple grounding." He tells you. "What!? How's that fair!?" Smiley shrugs. "Just is. Now spill." You resisted the urge to slug your annoying peach hair older brother in the jaw before sighing heavily. "You really wanna know? Fine. I started that fight because some asshole was talking shit about you two! Happy?"

Smiley and Angry looked at each other before turning back to you. "You started a fight because of that?" Angry asks. You furrow your brow in frustration. "It's more than that...they called you guys a smiling freak and a whinny crybaby. They also talked shit about Toman. And when I confronted them about it...they said I couldn't do a thing without my brothers there to protect me...that I was just a weak little girl who needed to stay out of other's way...So, I punched their lights out." You didn't notice you were crying until the end of it.

"I wouldn't have hit them if they would have just apologized and kept their mouths shut." You say with a sniffle. It was quiet until Smiley started laughing. "Man! You went and defended ours and Toman's honor? You really are the best little sister." He pets your head. "Huh?" You look up at him confused. "That was nice of you Y/n, but you didn't need to get hurt over us." Angry made his way over to you.

"W-well they were hurt way more than me." You told him. "I handled it didn't I?"

"Yes but, still. You're safety matters to us way more than a few insults thrown at us. Next time that happens, tell us."

"Yeah! We'll beat the fuck out of them so you don't get in trouble like you did." Smiley added. "Don't be like your dumbass older brothers Y/n. You're going places you know? Don't waste it on fighting like a gangster."

"But you guys are in a gang..." You mutter. "Don't get any ideas Y/n." Said Smiley, despite his smile, he was serious. "We wouldn't know what to do if you were hurt or worse. Just be our tough little sis outside of a gang ok?" You pout slightly but nod anyway. You did consider joining Toman, somehow. Your brothers inspired you in more than one way, and being in a gang was one of them. Not just any gang, a real gang. "The new age of delinquents" as Mikey put it.

It sounded so cool when you heard about it, and you wanted so desperately to be by your brothers side when it finally happens. But it wasn't always cool and badass, after Darken nearly dying and Baji's death, it dawned on you just how dangerous joining a gang could be. And Smiley and Angry be damned if they let their little sister be murdered and they couldn't prevent it.

You didn't know Draken and Baji on a personal level like everyone else in Touman did, but they were so kind to you whenever you were around. Baji even joked that you were like Toman's little sister. His death left a hole in the hearts of Toman, including yours...

"I won't get into anymore fights, but you guys have to promise me something too." Smiley and Angry waited for your word. "Promise me...that you'll be careful and promise me, you guys won't leave us like Baji did..."

The next thing you knew, your brothers were enveloping you in their embrace. "And leave you all alone? No way in hell." Smiley said softly. "We're not going anywhere." Said Angry. You sniffled but managed to smile. "Good. I might say I don't want you around, but you guys are all I got. So ignore me whenever I might say it again, ok?"

"Sure thing." Smiley chuckled. "Oh by the way, you're ungrounded."

You perk up. "Double ungrounded?"

"Yep. Double ungrounded. But you better not go start shit with anyone again, got it?"

"Got it." You giggle.

"Good. Now let's get out of here. I bet you're bored right?" Smiley asked as the three of you left your room. "Bored as fuck."

"There's a new arcade that just opened up. Should we go there?" Angry asked. " Hell yeah!" You and Smiley say in unison.

You still have no idea how you got so lucky as to get ungrounded like you did, but you had a feeling your brothers were never going to punish you as harshly as they did before.

loverboy | Tsukishima Kei

(Inspired by Loverboy by A-Wall)

Scribbling incoherent words in your notes, you sighed and stretched your arms, packing and starting to walk home. A long day of classes and work has you feeling drained. Smiling at the thought of lounging around in your pyjamas cuddling your boyfriend, you didn’t notice arms encircling your waist, picking you up and spinning you around.

You yelled and laughed at the familiar scent, marshmallows and strawberry shortcake.

“Kei put me down.” Feeling slightly dizzy from the surprise excitement. Tsukishima spun you around and planted a kiss on your lips.

“Hi baby,” He smiled and you looked at him in awe. On a early Friday evening, the sunset casting a glow over your boyfriend’s frizzled soft curls and skin, making him look ethereal as a god. You also notice a slight red tinge on his cheeks, knowing him, that wasn’t a natural occurrence.

You placed your hand on his forehead, feeling no warmth and tilting your head. “You don’t have a fever. Did you drink? Tell me Tadashi and Yuji didn’t feed you those brownies.” You raised an eyebrow.

Tsukishima pouted. “What does brownies have to do with the fact that whenever I see you I get butterflies all over again like the first time I met you. So small and shy I swear you were worse than Yachi.”

You smacked him. “I was not! You had that resting bitch face on twenty-four hours. How was I supposed to know you tolerated me?!”

“Yeah yeah yeah. ANYWAYS then once we actually started talking I never wanted you to shut up, how your eyes lit up everytime you talked about your favorite show and your hobbies and goddamn I just wanted to protect you and make you smile like that always.” Tsukishima kept rambling on and on and you were speechless. Who knew the standoffish boy you knew in high school was just a softie with the right person.

Yet, you heard rustling by the bushes, small giggles and soft hushes. A light came on and you couldn’t hold back your smile.

“Tsukki-“ “And then when you made that cake I fell in love even more because how did you know-“ “Kei” “Like strawberry shortcake is my favorite but when tasting it from your lips-“ “Kei!” “Hush let me finish my story-“ “Love!!” You grabbed onto his shoulders and turned him towards the bushes.

“Tadashi! Yuji! You misfits get out of the bushes and tell me what you did with Kei!” Full blown laughing and they both emerged out, hands on their stomachs and tears falling out of their eyes. They high fived each other.

“Told you those brownies would work! Kei has a soft spot for any dessert!”

“Oh but strawberry shortcake is his favorite, especially when he tastes it from y/n’s lips-“

Kei looked at Yuji and Tadashi. “What’s so funny?”

You blushed and touched your lips, is that why he always kisses you after you put on strawberry chapstick?

“Nothing lover boy, just wait and see.” Yuji stuck out his tongue and wrapped his arm around Tadashi, leaving you both tilting your heads.

The video was soon sent to your respective friend groups, who could all agree that Kei was indefinitely whipped for you.

The brownies were a little touch purely for entertainment, much to Kei’s dismay when he realized what had happened.

A/N: WHEW haven't written in a hot minute. No idea if I like this or not HAHAH I'm gonna keep it up for now as a filler because University has started for me and I'm already tired of it like please I want it to end but also not.

I literally made Tsukishima the complete opposite and idk I was imagining him somewhat like Hinata or Atsumu whenever they see their s/o after a long time. The brownies (or hashbrowns) were an added touch so I apologize for the lack of clarity of the effects because I have no idea how they make a person act.

Otae and Bansai Quotes about Gintoki and Takasugi Respectively

Lesson 324 WARTS TIME SKIP ARC

Shin-chan I think you are happy. After all, you kept chasing them in the darkness didn't you? Those people that you kept watching.. Shin-chan, what's really sad is when you stop running after the people you care about. Besides you're not the one who has it bad. Did you ever think how hard it is to be the person running out in front? He one who has nobody to follow as he runs through the dark? Sure it may prove impossible to match the pace of the people that you thought were kind.. but the thing is people often meander about on their own future paths, unsure of what to do, even with that they keep moving forward in pursuit of what they believe in. And do you know what that is? It's happiness, Shin-chan. It might be so far in the distance that it's impossible to see... but people know what to look for. No matter how many years it may take they keep chasing it until ultimately they catch it. I know that you'll catch up to them if you keep moving forward.

And you can count on me.. I'll be there at your side to help you get up

No matter what happens do not stop moving. Face forward and never stop running. Worry not I shall fight by your sides to the end. Is that not how it's always been? We can make it. The ones that can make others embrace such a fantasy, even in a situation as desperate as this one: Heroes, are thoroughly sinful creatures I daresay. Charmed by that light, no matter how many of our allies fall, or how many of our enemies fall, we pay it no mind. Heroes do not look back, they just keep running facing forward. That is why no matter what happens people can move forward following those backs. But Shinsuke, I know. I know that you are no hero, the pain you feel from stepping over the bodies of the dead, that sadness I know that better than anyone, I've known that despite that you've had to grit your teeth and keep moving forward. That you've still had to keep fighting. That you're just one weak human, but even so shinsuke, we're not there yet. Don't turn around Shinsuke! Face Forward! You cannot turn around yet, you still must keep moving forward! This world still needs heroes I daresay. We cannot lose you. The ones that chase after your back are we, the kiheitai, wherever that back goes, we'll always make sure to catch up to it.

Notes:

The Gintoki and Takasugi parallels is uncanny ngl. Otae may not have referred to Gintoki as "hero" in the same way as Bansai referred to Takasugi, however it showed how much they understood their "Leaders".(Otae does not refer to Gintoki as leader yet but as Shinpachi's mentor/leader.)Also idk how much of introspectiveWarts!Otae is the Real Otae. She is still pretty in character tho since Shinpachi hasn't suspected a thing.

Btw this isn't the first time someone close to a Joui patriot articulated the pain and joy of following their chosen leader. Mutsu kind of said it first actually.

Otae and Bansai though, both expanded on Mutsu's idea. Both their speeches had themes surrounding "followers faithfully chasing their leader's backs" and the "loneliness and pain the leaders' feel as they run towards their goal." Otae urges Shinpachi on continuing to follow Gintoki. Bansai encourages Takasugi to keep moving forward no matter what because them, the Kihetai will always follow him.

It's interesting how seemingly random insight and inspirational words Otae spout in early and comedy chapters often make a comeback in the later and more serious chapters. Like personally I want to smack Sorachi for playing me like this.

Her words of warning to Gintoki in Benizakura arc came back flying in full effect in Four Devas arc with Kagura and Shinpachi drilling sense into him.

This also happened in Ryugu arc with themes of Inner/True Beauty and Bushido too. Words Otae (and Gintoki) exchanged with Otohime came back in Red Spider Arc.

It happened again in Takasugi's memories of SHOYO In Shogun Assasination arc. Turns out Otae already lived by the bushido that Shoyo taught to his Shouka Shunjuku students.

One thing is for certain. Otae is one hell of a character I cannot underestimate. As someone who's trying to study her role in this manga, the fact that inspirational things she says in peace time made it two freakin times into important Gintoki/Takasugi/Shoyo (Shouka Shinjuku/ Kihetai) moments of all places, force me to really look into the connection between her and Takasugi.

Whatever this connection is, it was reiterated in the Final arc when Takasugi was talking with Shoyo/Utsuro about how "Gintoki doesn't swing his swords for the past anymore but rather for those by his side and for his present and his future" ...the manga panels showed OTAE.

Look I don't know if it's just me overthinking. But I would like to speculate that this was a storytelling move by Sorachi to say that:

1. Otae follows the same steel/bushido/inner beauty in her soul as Yoshida Shoyo and the 4 Legendary Joui.

2. Otae can be considered an official member of Gintoki's "Odd Jobs" in almost similar capacity as Mutsu and Bansai were for the Kaientai and Kiheitai. However instead of an underling she's Shinpachi's mentor.

3. Otae has the narrative capacity to be Gintoki's "Equal" and "Comrade/Partner" just like Takasugi was in the story.

4. Where instead of destroying Gintoki's world like Takasugi, Otae is there to help maintain it and keep it together.

5. Whether or not Otae has realized this herself, there is room for it in the future.

intro: so, firstly, ik eternals are pretty important in the comics and they have some real interesting roles to play in the infinity saga and shit but... BUT, they are basically gods. and all we really got to see was that they are a bunch of 7k year-olds going around and saving humanity, swearing to not interfere but they did. frankly, i think introducing all-powerful beings in something like the mcu seems like a cheap dc move. it's too comical and kinda plays with the fairly humane characters we already have in the movies, don't get me wrong, they are amazing in the movies but they are just- a tad too spandex for me iykwim. like even moon knight is a regular person. if i were to talk about the rotten tomatoes rating, i'm- not as shocked. ik it was gonna get a bad critics' rating but the audience would love it. idk, i think as compared to iron man, the movie was- atrocious- to say the least. chloe zhao, whose major genre of directing was supposed to be indie kinda ended up directing and writing a superhero movie. listen, i am not saying that i don't like indie movies, fo god's sake i was crying at the endings of god's own country and cmbyn! it's just that- you know- like- dune and the king would mix well, but if you mix dune and ladybird- like- ykwim?? it's just that. i didn't watch nomadland but ik it won an oscar so it must be something i might like but eternals was- how should i put this in a way that people don't @ me?-like, marvel is KNOWN for its graphics. damn, my cousin (he's been into marvel since iron man) said that he watched shang-chi, didn't understand what the fuck was going on but liked it because the water dragon was pretty. like- you understand what i'm saying right? like, even my father had the same reaction, so did my mom (although she understood what was going on but the graphics were fucking mindblowing). i think throughout the movie, i was searching for those two marvel signatures- the graphics and the dialogues. i guess the whole thing lacked that, adding fuel to the already burning pyre that was my anger at the plot holes. we'll get to that.

plot- the most basic and ill-written plot marvel has ever given? eternals. a celestial is about to emerge from within the core of the earth and it happens after the blip? like uh- excuse me? humanity is currently low and it's okay to kick it out of existence at that time? and no one decided to mention that arishem was the bad guy? so were the celestials? they didn't promote any life or shit, they were power-hungry assholes who destroyed life to have the universe o themselves. also the eternals are useless robots? like ikaris step aside we had vision before these mfs decided it was okay to kill him and torture wanda. and thena was having visions, okay but why didn't she react like a normal mc? why was she ready to kill everyone? ik she's the war goddess but we all know thena isn't dumb or erratic in any form or way. killing gilgamesh was fricking unnecessary, like why? also, where were these guys when thanos was around? like he finished off half of all living creatures and sersi was crying because ikaris left her three millennia ago?? like ma'am?? is he all that you have?? you just let gilgamesh and thena go because you weren't able to get over a rando laser eye? they weren't supposed to be a thing in the first place, but a female character just cannot live without a male supporting her. wait- let's shift this to the next topic.

relationships- so, like they made peggy male dependant, they did the same with sersi. like she kept hopping from dane to ikaris and then ikaris to dane like ma'am?? if you're going to make this gritty and realistic like dc rather than wholesome and fantastical like marvel, at least make the leader a little reliable because that's what a leader is supposed to be. also, why the FUCK was everyone looking for ikaris' approval when ajak had left sersi in charge like- huh? listen. like, ik y'all are new to the platonic besties routine marvel but gilgamesh and thena was pretty dumb, also, sprite, who looks like a literal frigging kid, is in love with ikaris? excuse mE, let a kid breathe? i DO NOT appreciate adult-minor relationships, no matter how leftist i am (ik sprite is a full-grown adult mentally and as old as everyone else but then why is she a kid??? like in atla, aang was a kid but he was 100+ years old, but he was still in love with katara, who was his age- ykw? ik i'm not making any sense- this is just too weird). even leftists who are super open-minded peopl don't appreciate that (i'm a leftist fyi), and it wasn't even like a little girl fangirling at her crush it was like full-on in love, that wasn't okay. sersi and ikaris was just plain bland. don't be blinded by that love for marvel, this was bad. they totally screwed up their chance on making druig and makkari the ultimate ship in the movie.

music score- oh boy don't even get my classical music ass started on this- the absence of the triangles, weak as fuck woodwinds, couldn't even hear those drums, like don't rumble, roar, like the string section just didn't sit right with me, it was basically just brass and effects like i could see the his dark materials meets game of thrones but THAT ISN'T MARVEL THAT'S THE POINT ISN'T IT. the percussion was okay, not as strong as this movie should have had, depending on the fact that it's practically based on 7k year-olds and THEY'RE FROM OLYMPIA GIMME THE GODDAMN ORCHESTRA!!! it wasn't eve as catchy as shang-chi, like, not even fucking CLOSE. like what would have actually worked was something like assassin's creed, damn that's the perfect mix of culture and majesty that the eternals (not the movie eternals but like eternals in general) truly deserved. idk, i see marvel heading towards a more innovative side of music and i appreciate that, like shang-chi and black panther, endgame and ragnarok are perfect examples and eternals should have matched the epicness of these movies if not even more. like the og theme's gonna remain OG okay? it's not antediluvian like everyone thinks it to be. like with tws everyone started throwing shade at it but LISTEN. these are SUPERHEROES, they deserve MAJESTY not TECHNICALITY and PERPLEXITY and MYSTERY. and eternals are GODS, so they deserve EVEN MORE. like i get effects are taking over music but the real epicness comes from the perfect mixture of brass and strings and that just did NOT happen in the score, like, at ALL, for me.

i don't like the rotten tomatoes rating MAJORLY because the audience liked it. like, i was expecting a similar reaction as my mom gave (which just deemed the movie a fucking abomination so yeah) but i did not get that rage from people, in fact, people are liking this movie or i guess i have just seen only people who are liking it, actively talk on social media due to the fear of sparking a discourse. i can understand because our fandom is big on collectivization and stuff but kudos to the critics for rating this one as the worst one yet, because, critically and from the view of a comics fan speaking, it did NOT live up to the expectations in any way and i have listed the main reasons above. it's just not the perfect marvel movie package and comparing it to shang-chi and black panther, even just with music scores, just feels like insulting the masterpieces these movies are. my overall opinion on this movie gets even worse but i love the way chloe went all out with the direction and the way they got us the representation in the movie. it was a brilliant effort but just not on the right path, for me, personally.

woo boy this has been gathering dust in my drafts for awhile but shhh we don't need to address that- *sweating*

new headcannon; except this time, it's MHA/BNHA (whichever you prefer) because we all need a break,,,i think-

okay today we'll be talking about our good 'ol childhood friends turned bully and victim turned whatever the hell they have going on now.

if you don't know who i'm talking about, you either just aren't apart of the fandom, or you choose to ignore their middle school years (which, while tragic, that's valid).

now enough waffling on, onto the actual AU. I present to you;

"comfort best friends katsuki and izuku"

so. we all know that while they were kids they were the best of friends, right? they were stuck together like glue and..more glue? and that's cute and all, but i don't care about that for this au (well i mean i kinda do but yeh). quirkless deku rolls around and bakugou is still the ass he is in canon. swan dive, bullying etc etc. but here's where it gets interesting.

the sludge villain;

izuku was probably traumatised after that i mean like,,he was like 12??? dude idk but he was young. and then assmight saying he can't be a hero yada yada (*coughs* hypocrite-). story goes the same on the bases that bakugou gets attack, deku saves him. but, imagine that if instead of bakugou and deku yelling at each other, it starts off as bakugou yelling at deku and then breaking down crying? surely, bakugou would have also been traumatised (as we see later on in the canonical series). it's not like just because he's a bully, he's still not 12.

anyway, bakugou breaks down crying bc shock and stuff, and deku sorta just hugs him and drags him back home. they have dinner together and end up spilling everything that has happened in the past few years. and then,,,bakugou brings up his quirk giving him tinnitus. you get your ass izuku slaps him and then tells him he should've told him earlier.

they (re)become best friends and now that they're back together (aS FRIENDS. STRICTLY FRIENDS BECAUSE I'M A SUCKER FOR THAT) they're personalities have started to rub off on each other. izuku starts swearing a little more (he only will swear is he's really angry (or if he stubs his toe bc that shit HURTS man)), gets more bold and sarcastic, but also gets better at spotting the telltale things that katsuki does when he gets uncomfortable, the ringing in his ears getting louder etc.

same goes for katsuki; he got better at communication, he likes to analyse things (mostly how explosives work but shhhhhhh) but like izuku was able to notice if something was wrong - just like when they were children. for the rest of middle school they learnt JSL and french (you can't tell me bakugou wouldn't grow up learning some french; his parents are fashionistas for gods sake).

Let's fast forward to UA. they both got in, because i'm to lazy to write that all out. midoryia still breaks his arm like the fool he is (oh yeah oops i forgot to mention izuku is still quirkless because i hate all might and uhhh yeh that's it) but he gets let go after recovery girl scolds him because katsuki comes over to yell at him for his dumbass-ery.

they're both in 1A - it's the first day. oh no, such nervousness. yeh no, i'm kidding. those two idiots took the train to school and probably left those poor passengers either traumatised or questioning reality. anyway, they're insulting each other - as best friends do, and they get to the 1A door. of course katsuki kicks the door and enters with a "wHATSUP MOTHERFUCKERS" which is followed by a monotone "yeehaw" from izuku. Iida is the only one there bc idk uhhh cannon??? idk broski. anyway, he's shooketh bc how dare these delinquents show such disrespect in such a prestigious place. he proceeds to yell at them and the two friends just look at each other and snicker (ignoring Iida's squawk of protest as they go and sit down). they pretty much do their thing until all the other students come in. they see aoyoma and immediately know these three years are going to be good (think of all the gossip they could do).

everybody has sat down and are like "wtf where the teacher at ayo" cue aizawa walking (when i say walking, i more mean he rides a skateboard on his stomach while in his sleeping bag because that's just a funny mental image) into class and everybody just like goes dead silent. izuku just says "what are thooooooose" and after five minutes of awkward silence aizawa goes "they are my crocs." and bakugou starts fucking WHEEZING in the background. safe to say, aizawa already hates this year.

skipping over the quirk assessment test and a bunch of plot bc i'm lazy. UA dorm shenanigans yeehaw. deku squad is a thing, as is the bakusquad. most of the class have bonded over trauma at this point (*coughs in villain attacks*) and they're all p chill. some of the class is super confused because like,,,what *ARE* izuku and katsuki??? are they friends? enemies?? fucking?? the answer is option a) and b) (but they prefer the term "RiVaLs").

shenanigan no #1; aoyama joins le french squad

so, as friends that both know french they're going to do the obvious thing and talk shit about others in a language they don't understand. one day, they're having their weekly gossip section in the common room (or whatever the hell it's call - it's just called a bloody living room here). the others in the class are watching a movie and aren't really paying attention to the two friends because like,,,plot (idk). aoyoma like the girl boss he is, pops up out of nowhere and joins the gossip. at first he's shocked that they know french, but after bakugou explains he's parents are designers, it makes sense. i like to think that aoyoma knows bakugou's parents designs bc like,,,hot girl shit, and so they talk and fanboy about that for a while. the movie ends and oh no, gotta stop gossiping in another language because god forbid the others know /sarc

shenanigan no #2; izuku sassing the teachers (specifically aizawa)

it's gotten to the point that the teachers have just given up trying to take this problem of a child, and have decided to just let fate (or in this case, deku) run it's course. izuku will *battle* these teachers to provide some sort of entertainment for himself. the rest of the class (aka pretty much just iida), is shook bc wtf how tf did he not die??? what the fuc- aizawa has a love hate relationship with this small gremlin child, because a) he is an agent of chaos (as is shouta), but b) he's fucking ANNOYING. but he'll never admit that.

that's all for now, because this took ten minutes of my life that i'll never get back but that's FINE. plus i have assessment work that i'm so behind on that i should probablyyyyy get started on.

uhhh yep adios i guess, i'll see you whenever i rise from the dead again.

oof this is a tough one, but I shall do my best!

for question one:

I have a lot of favourite ships. I love pretty much all period drama couples, especially Austen ones, so those are top of the list. But in terms of other media: Stefan and Elena from TVD, Jane and Michael from JTV, Jess and Rory from Gilmore Girls, Peeta and Katniss from THG, and many many more. Jake and Amy from Brooklyn 99, all the ships from ATLA pretty much, The Good Place I just ship everyone. Lol, there's a lot, but the first 5 are like the main ones.

I mean I love talking about/writing for nick & ziggy but I don't ship them in terms of wanting them to be together. Like if the curse wasn't a thing and Nick wasn't an evil douchebag, sure I would like I did before watching 1666 but he's really so awful. I like to pretend he isn't a lot of the time, but yeah. I don't "ship" ship them if that makes sense. I do think they are fascinating though!

for question 2:

Okay, I don't ship Carla and Polo from Elite. Idk I mean they're both gorgeous, but tbh I preferred Carla with Samuel. I don't ship Carla and Polo because to be when we saw their relationship it felt very much like they were together just for convenience/image and not because they genuinely wanted to be together anymore, if that makes sense. Especially after what happens in season 1, any chance they had of getting back together vanished. Like it just got so manipulative and toxic and I didn't feel like they really liked who they were around each other.

now for question 3:

I mean for Nick & Ziggy I've literally written so many AU's for them it's hard to keep count, so I'm going to list potential ideas for them that I might finish/haven't written yet and others that I know other people are interested in writing:

1. I've been working (very very slowly) on a period drama au for nick x ziggy which might quite possibly go nowhere.

2. then there's this other idea based on a prompt from @indistinctmumblings that I'm developing where Nick & Ziggy are young adults instead of teenagers and meet when he's on the force because she keeps getting arrested and they drive around in his cruiser looking for Sarah fier's bones. I'm still debating about whether the curse should be in it or not (Nick's dad is still alive at this point. Nick only briefly saw Ziggy at Nightwing so they didn't get a chance to reconnect)

3. there's a lot of interesting fic ideas people have talked about writing so I'm excited to see if anything turns up with that.

4. finally, I had a really in depth discussion also with @indistinctmumblings about a time-loop AU, where Nick is trapped reliving the same day in 1978 over and over again. Idk if I could or would write that - like I try to bring something new to each Nick & Ziggy fic I write in terms of characterization, plot, how the curse ends and everything, and I feel like I'm approaching the finish line in terms of creating new content? Like I don't want to regurgitate the same thing I've already spammed this tag so much lmao, but we'll see. this fic idea - especially the ending shot - has really stuck with me, but it's a popular idea and not one I came up with on my own, so.

in terms of Cindy and Alice lol, my favourite AU is when they both live and get to live happily ever after! I love that. But I also love the idea of them in some kind of competitive setting (maybe a figure skating/olympics AU where they're both favourites to win and used to be friends omg) or even just the idea of them being roommates in college and then slowly falling in love. I love these two, but it hurts so much to write for them 😢😢

again... still about hisoillu but about their engagement instead of illu's influenced fashion choice.

also this is more of... idk it gave reason why they chose to marry instead of uh other ways i guess??

i've seen so many fanarts where illu would break the news to the zoldycks or how killu would react to having hisoka as his brother in law- like srsly it's meme worthy at this point- and lotsa ones that showed how hisoka proposed as a joke or smtg but... I've been overthinking abt it these past few days sO i present to you how i think "the big question aka the proposal" happened... (manga spoilers??)

it's after hisoka resurrected himself obviously, and def after he killed kortopi and shalnark (so he knew there was gonna be empty slots in the spiders' lineup)

i imagine illu went back to the zoldyck estate after the whole fiasco and only heard of hisoka's "death" from rumors while he was on a mission

and then when he was idk maybe contemplating on whether or not he should visit the body(?) to pay respects or something, he gets a text message from the devil himself

their text went like this probably:

hisoka: hey~ where are you right now?♠️ (and no u can't tell me hisoka doesn't text w card suits u just can't-)

illumi: who are you and how did you get the phone you are currently using?

hisoka: ooh~ illu~ i feel betrayed, did you delete my number?♣️

illumi: hisoka is dead

hisoka: *image attached*

illumi: oh

illumi: hello hisoka, how are you still alive?

hisoka: you sound disappointed~♦️

illumi: i kind of am...

hisoka: rude, just tell me where you are♥️

...and that's how they met up?? ngl i think illu has a know-it-all syndrome where he just has to,,, k n o w everything

he's curious so he agrees to the meetup ofc

he's also surprised when he sees hisoka is in good shape when they meet (idk at a bar in an unknown city?)

they drink whiskey on the rocks because... you know...

hisoka explains how he survived and his next plan of action (which is terminate the spiders)

illumi makes a mental note of nen after death bc he's heard and seen it all before but... not to this extent,

this is gonna be,,, bland but i think this is the logic behind why hisoka chose to get married/engaged instead of just paying up front (reference to the ten dons' commission to get chrollo killed and chrollo's commission to get the ten dons killed)--

anyways here's how their conversation goes:

i: "why did you want to talk in person?"

h: "oh y'know, for old times sake."

i: "...right"

hisoka laughs, "okay so maybe i want to ask you for a favor..?"

confused, illumi asks, "why could you not have just texted if you wanted me to kill someone for you?"

h: "no, no- wait, actually, you're not too far off."

i: ~mOrE cOnfUsiOn~ "huh?"

h: "how do contracts for assassination work in your... family business?"

i: "half the promised pay before, the remaining half afterwards. should the target be eliminated by a third party, the assigned zoldyck still gets the pay and should the employer die, then the contract is terminated and the zoldyck will report back immediately."

h: "and has anyone made a contract to have themselves terminated?"

i: "i beg your pardon?"

h: "what complications will arise should your employer's target be... themselves?"

i: "i believe... i have never encountered such circumstance before. the people who hire us are those who have enough money and resource to have their enemies killed quickly. no one's tried to test the zoldyck assassination prowess."

h: "so... how will that work?"

i: "are you implying this is the reason why you have contacted me today?"

h: "yes~ ♥️" (how he said a heart emoji out loud is up to you, reader)

i: "it will be a pointless paradox. logically, the zoldyck will only get the employment bill. and i, myself, do not find pleasure in going for the kill like you lest i get my reward, so you will not get a contract out of me, hisoka."

h: "is there no leeway?"

i: "a zoldyck stands up to their word. so no."

h: "even for a friend?~ ♦️"

i: "we are not friends, hisoka-"

hisoka raises his glass of whiskey along with his eyebrow.

i: "oh..."

h: "didn't you tell dear killua that a zoldyck didn't need friends?"

i: "you... are an associate, someone reliable in the killing world. it's different."

h: "hypocrite"

i: "i ask you for favors and you make me return them. it is not like we spend our time together leisurely like killu with that island boy..."

hisoka clinks their matching glasses of whiskey even though his is already empty, a shit-eating grin on his lips.

i: "you suggested we meet here."

h: "this isn't the first time we went out to drink, right illu?"

i: "regardless!! i will not kill you just for half the money. i do not like wasting efforts on fruitless missions."

h: "as i said, is there no exception, to make sure you get my money if you were to succeed in killing me?"

i: "are you doubting my skill, hisoka?"

h: "that's not the point right now~ ♠️"

i: "wait, why do you want me to get all of your money?"

h: "haven't we just gotten over this subject? because you're my friend, of course."

i: "i... we are not friends, hisoka."

hisoka claps, "that's it! illumi!! ♣️"

i: "eh?"

h: "marry me! that way in our prenup I'll make sure you get all of my money, and even without a prenup you'll still get it since you'll be my only relative! that solves it!"

i: "hisoka, are you sure death did not took a toll on your brain? you did say you used Bungee Gum only on your heart and lungs..."

h: "i'm being serious, illumi!! and doesn't this solve your earlier conflict? we don't have to be friends, we'll be husbands!"

i: "do not use that tactic with me, you manipulative bastard. stop joking."

h: "this is purely beneficial for you, honestly i don't get why you just won't accept it."

i: "then humor me this first, why now?"

h: "dear illu, i've been to literal hell and back. i think it's time to leave my mark in case i fail to escape death again."

i: "was it that bad?"

h: "you'll love it there, illu~ ♥️"

h: "on a more serious note, though, i do plan to marry you. out of everyone i've encountered, you're the most eligible candidate. you're powerful, fully capable and extremely pretty to boot! you're the ideal husband!"

(blushing obviously, illumi downs the remaining whiskey in his glass) i: "death has changed you, hisoka."

h: "so?"

i: "fine."

h: "excellent!"

and in one fell swoop, illumi has a pin against the curve of hisoka's jugular, wrist held tightly by hisoka- a card matching against his own neck.

"not yet, dear husband." hisoka whispered into his ear, "we have to manage the papers first. and i've a request before you do."

they let each other go at the same time, not even breathing an unnecessary breath in the other's personal space (well, they're nearly pressed thigh to thigh anyways, what's the point of personal space anymore-)

"a condition rather than a request, really."

"what?" hisoka orders them refills, and downs his when it arrives.

"join the ryodan first."

glass already pressed on thin lips, illumi's confused hum resonates softly into the concave utensil. "why?"

"so things can get more interesting. i assume you know of the dark continent expedition that's soon to take place?"

"father has advised i take part on it, since kalluto told me the ryodan plans to rob some cliches who'll join the expedition- to look after him. you want me to join them?"

"yes, and i plan to board as well, don't fret."

illumi's eyes turn to slits, "how should i know you would be there? i can't take your word when you might just disappear when we've all boarded."

hisoka grins, wide then wider, "you should know by now illu, i plan to avenge my wounded pride. that damned chrollo didn't even fight me properly."

tilting his head, illumi stared at the man beside him, "is that not contradictory? i thought you did not mind your opponent using whatever means necessary to win?"

"magicians use tricks and misdirection to awe the audience," hisoka says almost thoughtlessly, "chrollo's a narcissistic hypnotist who used the audience as a damned shield because he knew he couldn't handle me face-to-face."

he groans, tinged in regret. "i shouldn't have picked heaven's arena, if i'd chosen a more discreet location then maybe the damage won't be this bad."

"damage?" illumi rests his chin on his palm, facing his husband.

hisoka swipes a hand over his face, and the glamour comes off. the picture he sent illumi now present in front of him. he was missing a nose, his left hand didn't have any finger left and dried blood chipped on his white skin. "oh."

with another swipe, everything's made correct again. hisoka was grinning again. he downs the remaining alcohol and leaves jenny bills under the emptied glass.

"come, lovely husband. we're to elope and legalize our union!"

illumi follows suit after downing his own glass, "i think there might be another loop hole, if you were to join the family. zoldycks do not kill family."

"so if i were to wed you, here and now, you'd think me more of a family than alluka?"

"alluka is not family."

"are those your words, illumi? or silva's?"

"i..."

"wow, you're really just as fucked up as i am."

"where do you plan to take me? i've just said i cannot kill family."

hisoka chuckles, "then you're the one to take my name, of course."

"preposterous!"

"who the hell still uses that word?"

"i am and will always be a zoldyck-"

"exactly. it's just legal papers, if you kill me then you'll just be a widow and even get your name back! see how everything'll work out in the end?"

"hisoka-"

"are you doubting your skill of assassination, my dearest husband?"

"... i better get the most expensive ring in this damned city."

"that's the spirit! now let's go get married!"

"wait, hisoka. what is your last name?"

later that night, when they leave a chapel, something gold glimmers on hisoka's bungee gum/texture surprise ring finger. a matching one around illumi's finger.

unlike hisoka, though, illumi had an extra red glimmer right under that gold, in the dead center of a silver band of intricately designed pattern. hisoka had foregone the traditional diamond in favor of a 16 carat ruby engagement ring, such a curious choice but illumi accepted it all the same...

(much later on, hisoka took both rings as collateral and reminded illumi that he would get them back even if he died bc it was in their damn prenup- and bc it was technically bought under illumis name and that's how hisoka assured illu that he'd be on that black whale,,, bc he had the rings and planned to give them back to him there)

"I thought a red gemstone was better suited for the rather bloody and murderous ending that our relationship will inevitably come to, wouldn't you agree?"

-Hisoka Morow whenever someone mentions his preference of proposal ring...

"I disagree with most of his ideals, our relationship has always had a fragile foundation, and I knew from the start that we'd eventually end up killing each other."

(i dont care to do c! tags bc theres. so many characters. if i dont say cc! then im talking abt the characters) normally i am not one to think much about the syndicate bc outside of ranboo being there to protect tubbo the syndicate Frustrates me a bit but. if phil starts to realize just how fucked over tubbo got by schlatt being erased from the narrative (and especially how shittily techno has treated tubbo) then i really hope they lean into like. the fact that the syndicate may soon turn into phil, niki, ranboo, and possibly the mystery member (im including mystery member mostly because i think tubbo is on good terms with almost everyone except like. dream, possibly wilbur but we'll see, and like the eggpire ppl but none of them are likely options but it is possible that the mystery member could just be neutral) all like. wanting tubbo to be safe and phil is *just* reasonable enough that i think he'd realize how unfair it is for tubbo to have been subjected to so much shit just for techno to introduce even more fear and the need to hide in his life

like phil already keeps the bee duo marriage and michael a secret, he lets tubbo come over and while of course its mostly from the semi lore vibes phil seems vaguely fond of tubbo already (i dont think phil and tubbo have father/son vibes tho, more just like. tubbo is just That Kid that adults cant help but adore even though the kid will rob them of house and home. slightly amused elder watching a tiny fucking gremlin make sex jokes and talk about soviet russia), niki from what i remember still cares about tubbo (probably because she cant redirect any anger towards him without realizing how unjustified it would be kcnsks she can come up with excuses for hating tommy but tubbo didnt do anything that niki has a problem with outside of her maybe having a bad view on butcher army if she knows about it?), ranboo is. ranboo. i dont need to clarify. and then like said theres a very low possibility of the fifth member *disliking* tubbo or being unable to sympathize with him.

people talk a lot about how techno needs to lose in a way that he cant easily come back from without introspection and i think while the rest of the syndicate standing up for tubbo would increase technos grudge against tubbo initially its also like. something that i think would maybe force techno to see tubbo as a person because now theres nothing techno can box (haha gettit. tubbox tubbo in a box tubbo getting boxed into certain roles by people who refuse to let him out techno esp doin this teehoo) tubbo into that wouldnt just. acknowledge that tubbo is a person. hes not apart of the government anymore, not planning any failed revolution, the most negative title to his name is being one of the nuke makers but even then thats out of fear and safety and techno knows that. otherwise tubbos current crimes are nothing thats special to tubbo (like. stealing and searching for evidence in ppls homes and stuff, the latter of which techno doesnr even know about). right now tubbos a husband, a father, a friend, a kid, *ex*-government, a person. and just.

i think that with how much foreshadowing about tubbos execution no longer being a secret amongst the witnesses and tubbo himself and soon being something that people close to techno like phil and ranboo know about as well (in that i want phil to learn that techno did it and for ranboo to learn about it in general bc hes just biased enough for tubbo and just smart enough that i think even if somehow he wasnt told who did it he could figure it out), and with the fact that tubbos lore has been confirmed to now be something thats actively going to be played into? i think (or at least hope) that it might spur phil and techno into finally seeing tubbos side of the story (and probably also get into the possibility of tubbo opening up to tommy and ranboo but i do think realistically either tubbo will try to play it off/not truly open up about how much its effected him or tubbo will at first shut down or go into complete repression mode, especially if phil and ranboo get the story from other people rather than tubbo himself [but god do i hope they confront tubbo himself]. either those two or tubbo talks about his emotions through fucking snapping at something/someone like he did at quackity when reminded of his execution, which as long as its Not tommy or ranboo ill absolutely be cheering on him for)

which is all a very convoluted way of saying uhh. *grabby paws at the ccs currently involved in the arc of clearing up personal misconceptions about l'manberg (and especially tubbos involvement and how easily those around him judged him based off of their versions of the story)* tubbo lore? tubbo healing tubbo talking about his problems? characters learning to see him as a person and recognizing how traumatized he is and that hes not uneffected but actively repressing any effects? please? (also ending note as the cherry on top of this essay that im sorry for dropping into your inbox: im kind of glad that tommys healing arc and tubbos possible healing arc are going to happen at similar times but are still separate. something something its nice to see acknowledgement that tommy and tubbo wont heal in the same way and arent going to know how to help each other but theyre still going through it together. their arcs are intertwining without removing their individuality and as someone w major co-dependency issues its kind of nice idk. you can be there for someone and still acknowledge that you have your own things to go through too and that while you wont be alone you shouldnt force those around you to support you. the bench trio are all helping each other out of free will and genuine love for each other while still realizing they have some problems they arent ready to talk about yet that arent forced to the open because theyre all doing their best to handle each other with care and i just. bench trio my beloveds. the kids are alright.) -🎭🎪 (also as the actual end note if theres ever a need to refer to me as something other than the emojis mask or eyez works fine but the idea of my name being the emojis is also Very Funny to me so do what you will)
