Still breathless, Fyodor tried to look around to rationalize the situation. He could see straight now and his eyes were getting used to the darkness of his room.
03:27AM
Oh.
Dostoevsky sighed. It was late, he needed at least one good night of sleep for his upcoming test and cello practice. Now his body is feeling uncomfortably awkward. This was unusual, Fyodor always keep everything in check. Maybe if he tried to close his eyes, and if he lay really still, he could trick his body into falling asleep again. It was a good plan. Obvious, but still good plan. Fyodor smirked for himself as he close his eyes again, of course he always have a plan.
But then, the sudden feeling on his throat came back. His heartbeat is racing again. What is it? No, It couldnât beâŠ
Fyodor opened his eyes with a slight feeling of rage. He remembered.
Oh, he remembered.
And for the first time, he wished for his brilliant brain stop working. Fyodor knew how his memory was sharp, but now it feels like a big waste of time.
Fyodor had a dream. A dream that he would pray to God just to forget. Could he call it a nightmare?
It wasnât a nightmare for sure, but it was still cursed. Maybe uncomfortable and embarrassing.
Embarrassing. Ah, how Fyodor was glad that anyone couldnât look at his poor face at this moment. He hates when he doesnât have full control of the situation, keeping his feelings under control was a form of not getting lost, he is used to it.
Fyodor doesnât dream regularly. He was a really sleepy or not sleep at all type of person. When his body finally gives in to fatigue, the dreams become blurry because of his mindâs tiredness. But Fyodor doesnât mind at all, Dostoevsky couldnât see the mystical side of dreaming. For him, this was only a way for his mind process everything that he saw through the day.
Thatâs why his friends appear regularly when he dream about something. Sometimes his family when his subconscious is trying to process his past â even though Fyodor is neutral about most of his dreams, he would consider these the bad ones. Or at least the ones that he would like to forget.
But it wasnât that type of bad dream either.
When Nikolai or Sigma appear on his dreams things get a lot lighter. It always ended up being a relief. Sometimes he chuckles for himself in the most unfortunate moments remembering those. Fyodor let a nasal laugh come out when this thoughts come on his mind.
No. This wasnât the answer yet. His dream hadnât been any of those things, but he is getting close.
He dreamt of you.
You.
This wasnât surprising for him though. Fyodor knows â Oh God, how bad he knows â how he keeps you on his mind. Fyodor could justify himself telling that youâre his rival and itâs normal having plans about the next provocative thing he is going to say when you guys met again, or spend time thinking about how he is going to destroy you in the upcoming test.
Fyodor could pretend that he was fooling himself with those false conclusions, but he knows the truth, he always knows. Itâs the greatest Dostoevsky after all, the special child that was gifted, or even better, blessed with his brain.
But it wasnât the case, and Fyodor knows that too. He always knows. Another sigh came out of his mouth, Fyodor closed his eyes and take another deep breath. When did he allowed himself feeling this emotions? This wasnât right. But he canât keep torturing himself, maybe just for tonight he will allow all those thoughts come â Just for releasing them in the next day, of course.
Fyodor still could feel the warmth. It was cleaning day and you were his duo, this mean that youâre going to be together for a while. It may sound exhausting, you guys were rivals and have a psychological war while cleaning was kind of messed up. You guys were in a silent truce. No one had to flag this, you both could read the situation â And each otherâs thoughts, even though youâre not going to admit that â, you payed too much attention on him just like he recorded every reaction of you. From your facial expressions from your small and smooth body movements. Every detail.
Well, itâs not like you could run away. You also committed your sins when spent too much time looking at Fyodor bitting his thumb while he was concentrating, you hated how playful yet majestic his actions are. Everything about him just fitted so perfectly that you couldnât help but feel some angerâ Or just full yourself to believe that youâre not feeling other type of intense feeling beside rage.
You were sweeping the classroomâs floor while Fyodor cleaned the windows. The sun was setting and the sky was turning into a beautiful orange color slowly turning darker as the clouds complemented it. Suddenly, everything felt warm. Fyodor was looking at you by the window reflection, he also could see how much he was staring and this made he feel ashamed. You could feel Fyodorâs piercing gaze even though he wasnât even looking directly. You couldnât help but give a small smirk.
âLooks like someone canât focus on his little taskâŠâ You said playfully, your eyes were still looking at the floor while you sweeps. You wanted to give that unbothered impression. âAm I distracting you?â You finally looked up, he was still looking at the window. You could hear his sigh â It almost sound like a laugh.
How presumptuous. Fyodor thought. And you know that he thought that. It make you chuckle, this unexpected harmony was slowly tying you two together.
âOh.â Dostoevsky finally turned to you. His silently confidence makes you want to shut his mouth before he even dare to speak a word. âOh, darling, I almost forgot that you are here.â Now was Fyodorâs time to be presumptuous, and he knows how this will get into your nerves. âTrying to get an excuse to talk to me, ah? How cute.â
You let a tsk come out. Fyodor felt victorious keeping you silent. Now youâre looking at the floor again, sweeping the classroom. Even though your eyes were focused the task, your ears still work perfectly. And you heard Fyodorâs slow footsteps getting closer. You know he is behind of you now, but you try to play clueless.
âHmmmâŠâ Fyodor is getting closer to you, he is speaking next to your ear. Your body gets tense. âWhat is it now? Little mouse got scared?â His voice almost sound like a whisper, a very teasing one. His breath is touching your neck and ear. Where did his russian accent became so provocative? Now his hands are slowly moving to your waist.
Fyodor likes how you look small next to him. You look so vulnerable, so easy to tease. He canât let you scape now. Now his hands travel till they reach out your upper body. Dostoevsky couldnât help, he squeezes your uniform letting it wrinkled. Your breath got heavy as he keeps touching you, unfortunately, you catch yourself biting your lip to not let a moan slide. Fyodorâs touch feel so great, he loves how his big and skilled hands can hug perfectly your curves and play with them.
âWaitâŠâ You finally open say something after opening and closing your mouth for a while, your voice is a little shaky and a few sighs come when you talk. âNot here, what if somebodyââ
âHm?â Fyodor cut you off abruptly. He doesnât like when you complain, he likes to have full control of the situation. âIâm not doing anything, darling. Am I?â Now his hands squeeze you more roughly, as if he wants to get a better reaction from you. The russian young man has a smug look on his face. You look so fragile and easy to mess with. He enjoys the sense of control, Fyodor is taking the lead now, and you feel like a loser for enjoying it so much â Itâs like screaming that you lost.
Dostoevsky's eyes widened slightly, and his fingers tightened around your waist, making you feel uncomfortable. He didn't seem to notice your pain, though. Instead, he leaned forward, pressing his lips against your neck. His mouth was cold and dry, but you could still feel his tongue licking your exposed sensitive skin. When he finally pulled away, he smiled, his eyes glinting with satisfaction. He let go of you and sat back in his chair, his hands resting on his thighs. He seemed to have forgotten about your existence entirely. You felt like nothing more than a toy he played with when he got bored.
Dostoevsky is silent for a moment, contemplating whether to continue or not. He looks at you with a half-smile, a hint of cruelty in his eyes. He knows how to play with words and actions, and he takes advantage of every opportunity to make sure that youŽre miserable and uncomfortable around him. He is not someone who shows affection or warmth, and he is definitely not someone who is good at expressing feelings. He is a cold, calculating man who sees everything in terms of power and control. His tone is still harsh, but there's a hint of softness in his voice when he says. "You're not doing anything?"
You decided to act like a greedy whore and got into your knees.
Fyodor pulls down his pants and underwear, revealing his cock, which is already hard. He strokes it slowly, watching you closely. He seems to enjoy the way you react to his actions. He keeps on talking, his voice is still harsh, but there's a certain amount of tenderness in his tone. He doesn't want you to feel bad, just frustrated and unhappy. He is a sadistic bastard, but he has a soft side too. And it shows in the way he treats you. "Now, tell me, what do you want? Do you want me to fuck you? Or would you prefer me to beat you? Which one do you like better?"
"Hit me. I challenge you." You giggle in a act of courage. "I know you canâtâ" Fyodor chuckles darkly, a sign of his humor. He's not laughing at you, he's just teasing you. He slaps you across the face, hard enough to make you cry, but not enough to draw blood. He leans in close, whispering in your ear. "Tell me, how do you like being treated like a piece of meat? A toy to be played with? A slave to obey? Because that's what you are, isn't it? You're nothing but a whore, a filthy, worthless piece of shit."
Fyodor was merciless. He didnât care about the brimming tears in the corner of your eyes, didnât care about your shaking legs or your small chokes.
Slobbering sound filled the small stall, and you sat on the floor obediently like a little puppy as he used your mouth to his liking. Your uniform was wholly unbuttoned, bundled up at your elbows with your nipples peeking from your bra.
It was always his favorite look on you, clothed in the schoolâs garb. The uniform that should represent your focus on studies and discipline is wearing for you choke on him. Fyodor has to admit how pleasing it is, it arouses him to the point of madness.
âGood little mouse, now, open your mouth and stick out your tongue.â He commanded once more in a commanding but still seductive tone. He was loving this, the power is was feeling. His smirk grew as he continued, he was loving every second of this.
His eyes were dark and sinister now, they were almost completely in a reddish purple tone. His pupils are comically big due the excitement. He seemed so in control now. He loved it.
Fyodor smirked once more as you do as asked. You seemed to be getting really into this now.
Your tongue pressed wide and flat. Fyodor shuddered at the feeling, at your tongue rubbing over his slit, precum oozing out. You did it again and Fyodor let a moan slide out, you was pressing the tip of your tongue into his slit now, coaxing out more of his essence. Dostoevsky loved the feeling, he loved how pathetic you look like this.
It was so intense, the sight of your lips curled around his cock, how piercing his arouse gaze was. You hummed before sinking down, swallowing as much of Fyodorâs length as he could. Dostoevsky was panting, the feeling so intense that it was almost overwhelming. You began to suck harshly, cheeks hallowed out and you was bobbing your head now as well, head going up and down as you sucked Fyodorâs cock. The russian didnât want to say it loud, but he wasnât going to last.
"Good little mouse, I knew you could do it." He said in a soft and seductive tone, his eyes closed in pleasure. His hands moved to your head now, he loved the feeling of her hair in his hand. He seemed a little proud, even. He felt like he had helped you, in a way. "Good girl..." He whispered as he gently stroke your hair.
You keep sucking him harshly, enjoying how he felt warm inside of you. You couldnât help but let a few tears coming out. The intelligent girl with a sharp tongue was gone, now youâre just a little whore to Fyodor play with â and you both sightly love this.
âDo you like to be dominated by a man like me, little mouse? Are you such a submissive little girl?â He asked with a smirk. He seemed to be amused by the whole situation, by all the control that he holds now. You can almost feel that he was about to release.
You felt your panties dampening as he say that, he grabbed a fistful of your hair keeping your head in your place as he changed the pace to a quicker one, accelerating the beats of your heart. He was pulsing inside your mouth. He was so close, so close, so closeâŠ
Fyodor just couldnât resist. The wet and warm feeling of your mouth along with your pity puppy face was driving him crazy. You are being so obedient to him. He need to fill your mouth a little more, just a little moreâŠ
âJesus.â Fyodor said to himself, alone in his room. The dream was wild, he feels pretty ashamed by how sinful and dirty his mind can be when he is asleep, at least you will never know that. Right now he just want to close his eyes and go back to sleep, but this weird feeling donât leave. His hair still feel sticky and his forehead sweaty. His skin felt so tight like a growing claustrophobic feeling.
Oh, wait.
Dostoevsky looked down to his pants with a disgusted face. How shameful of him. Now that he has knowledge of the weird feeling on his body itâs easier to ignore.
Ah, for sure he isnât going to go anything about that besides ignore. Fyodor genuinely believe that masturbation is a stupid thing, he is not going to waste his time â and risk his inner pride doing such a thing.
Dostoevsky closed his eyes taking a few deep breaths, he just needed to clean his mind. Maybe counting one to one hundred could help, Fyodor just need to take you away from his thoughts.
He just didnât expected how addictive this fantasies are.
hii heres part two <3

Pyramid Head thoughts đ©žđȘ âł
Catering this to myself and my hornee NEEDS and anybody elseâs ig because Iâm a dirty boy rn and I have too many thoughts in my head revolving around my man and I need to spill my guts before I lose this precious brain rot. Oh yeah this got some nsfw shit (itâs gonna be like further down) so be sure to read at your risk, and donât mind the occasional out of context shit bc thatâs just my comments and me giggling so hard abt this fine mferâ this was pretty fun to make too ngl, I might do more in the future if I ever get anymore ideas from things or from people, Idk weâll see.
Pyramid Headâs possessive asf over his s/o, when youâre living inside a hellhole of a town full of monsters and a cult run by a bunch of lunatics, who else is gonna protect your ass none other than this 7â0â deity??? Man wouldnât even hesitate to kill anybody or anything that came way too close to you.
Manâs not even gonna let you out of his sight for a second, wherever the hell youâre going heâs coming with you, youâre a fragile little thing after all. He doesnât want anything bad happening to you, not on his watch.
The size diff between you and Pyramid Head is endearing as well as arousing just thinking about how he could manhandle you into any positions he wants and watch you struggle to take him in. Youâre just so short compared to him, he finds it cute. <3
Itâs fun to carry you around everywhere he goes because of how short you are compared to him. Doesnât matter if you get a say in this or not, heâs gonna carry you whenever the hell he pleases and heâll never let go.
Pyramid Head wouldâve associated you with the colour white and some times gives you white clothing because youâre pure and the only non-sinner in this shit hole of a town.
Who the fuck needs a bed when you have Pyramid Head??? Hell, heâd probably prefer you to sleep on top of him so he could hold you in your sleep and protect you from all the dangers of Silent Hill. Not to mention heâd like the feeling of how squishy you are in his embrace, particularly your thighs, he likes wrapping his hands on them and squishing them gently in your sleep. Might be a form of comfort saying âIâm here, everythingâs okayâ, or heâs just admiring them. Who wouldâve thought a large monster living on violence and inflicting pain on sinners would be so gentle with you? (Unless you wanted him to roughen you up a little of course then by all means, heâll fuckinâ do it.) >:))
Because Pyramid Head only exists in Silent Hill and doesnât know a lot about the outside world, itâs rather adorable watching him get all confused with that head tilt of his whenever you explain certain things to him couples do on a regular basis besides sex, but he does show some curiosity on said topic and possibly willing to do those things with you as well.
Pyramid Head enjoys receiving attention from you, be it either hugs from behind or give him kisses on his helmet or the tongueâ anywhere else is prolly gonna give him some other ideas of sorts, rnskfbsjfbw.
OH BOY the fucking dirty brain rot persists. If this man ever happened to be feeling horny he honestly wouldnât hesitate taking your clothes off in one tear the second he has your consent.
Did I mention abt the size diff last time? Making you take in his cock nice and slow isnât gonna do much, heâd want you to get over with the pain fairly quick so heâll just push it in without warning lmao, of course once heâs in, heâll allow you a brief moment to adjust to his size and once youâre all good heâs going to pound the fucking daylights out of you.
AGAIN WITH THE SIZE DIFF itâs just so satisfying and enjoyable to him watching you writhing and moaning underneath him like that, accounting to that just seeing you stuffed full of his come and utterly blissed out is adorable. (Like man Iâ let him rail me already PLEASEE)
And heâs for sure going to tease the fuck out of you to overstimulation until your mind is nothing but a puddle of mush and youâre begging for him. <33
Aftercare in the end is amazing, heâll help clean you up by fucking eating you out with his tongue and then heâll lay there with you in his arms, with a blanket big enough pulled over top to cover the both of you while you snuggle up in the mean time. A possible guarantee youâre gonna have a blast trying to walk in the morning./j

Synopsis: Somethings wrong with Matt, and itâs scaring Y/N. When she figures out whatâs wrong with him.Things take place that alter her life foreverđ©ž
Warningsâ ïž: THIS IS SMUTTTT. Vampire Matt, and uhhh some other vampire people canât spoil anything thoughđ€. Just some vampire fucking, but nothing crazyđŠ
Song for the imagine: Change(In the House of Flies)-Deftones
â ïžThis is an 18+ story, so minors do not interact, or do??â ïž
Now you feel so alive
Iâve watched you change
Itâs like you never had wings
Something was off with Matt lately he was hanging around with a sketchy crowd, and suddenly he wasnât himself anymore. Chris and Nick had hung out with this crew too, but they didnât act how Matt was acting.
He was honestly frightening. All I remember was Chris and Nick had gone away with these guys, and came back, and then Matt went away with them, but when he came back it just wasn't really right.
I would hang out with them, but then they would go through these weird phases of not really talking to me, or being seen. I tried to ignore it because maybe I was trying to make myself believe something was there when it truly wasnât.
When I didnât see them they were with those weird guys they were friends with. I honestly thought they were either doing or selling drugs, or maybe both. Whatever it was, I chose to stay out of the way of their life decisions; it wasn't really my business.
I only started to get truly concerned when Mattâs appearance changed. I mean all their appearances changed, but MattâŠ.his was the most noticeable. Everyone noticed it, but never said anything to him about itâŠ.they were afraid?
He went from having soft cheeks, and warm blue eyes and heart warming smile to pale, with sunken cheekbones and icy sunken in dead eyesâŠ.the dead eyes scared me the most. They were so frightening often times I couldnât look at him for too long
His personality changed as well; he went from bubbly and bright and talkative to quiet, mean and mysterious. The surrounding girls in our lives found it hot and mysterious. I found it out right, strange and weirdâŠ.this wasnât Matt.
I was really scared he was messing around with drugs or something because he completely changed, and it wasnât for the best.
I hadnât seen the triplets in a week as they ghosted me and went MIA to go be with those guys. I really wished theyâd just stop honestly. I didnât want to lose my friends over some weird people
I was currently sleeping, and I was having vivid dreams of Matt screaming and pleading for help, but I couldnât see him in my dreams everything was just black
Suddenly Mattâs face appeared in my dreams with red eyes and a scary grin âWAKE UPâ he yelled, and suddenly I jumped out of my sleep
âWhat the fuckâ I said rubbing my eyes, and turning my lamp on thatâs on my nightstand
As my eyes were adjusting to the light I looked down at my clock 3AMâŠ.chilling, unholy hour. I felt a presence in my room, but I chose to shake it off
âI know you feel meâ I heard someone say, and my head snapped in the direction of the person. It was Matt sitting at my window sill
âMatt? Howâd you get in here?â I asked rubbing my eyes again to make sure I was awake
âYou should really lock your windowsâ he said deeply
âMatt, I'm on the second floor, howâd you get up here?â I asked getting frightened
âI told you, you should lock the windowsâ he said again standing up from the window sill
âYouâre scaring me okay, I donât know whatâs gotten into you lately, but youâre not the same person I used to knowâ I said sitting up fully
âIt took me a while to figure out what I am tooâ he said still sitting in the darkness, only the moonlight casting light against him
âWhat do you mean what you are?â I asked him
âYou donât know?â He asked tilting his head
âWhatever sick joke this is please stop itâ I said getting annoyed
âThis isnât a jokeâŠâ he said to me
âMatt Iâm scared, and if you say one more creepy thing Iâm running out the doorâ I said to him
âCome on donât be like that, I just want to talk to youâ he said in a whisper
âFuck thisâ I said and got up running to my door, but before I could open it Matt just appears behind me, and shuts the door
âMatt let me outâ I said with my back still to him
âI canât let that happenâ he said sending chills down my spine
âIâll hurt youâ I said
âYou can not hurt meâ he said chuckling
I turned around to answer him, and when I did I wish I hadnât. His eyes were no longer blue, but pitch black
âMATT WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOUâ I said sinking under his arms and running back to my bed
âHow do you not know?â He said looking over at me
âBecause this is the real world, and Iâm so fucking scared right nowâ I said shaking
âIâm not going to hurt youâŠ.â He said walking over to me
âYouâve been acting weird lately, you look different, you disappear and now your eyes are blackâ I said shaking my head at him
âExactlyâŠdonât you know what I am?â He said smirking at me
âThis isnât realâ I said looking at him
âIt is real, say it you know what I amâ he said to me
âYouâre not a vampireâ I said scoffing at him
âI amâŠ.and itâs been two weeks since Iâve lasted tasted blood, and yours smells sweetâ he said licking his lips
âThis is bullshit this is not realâ I said pinching myself to try and snap out of it
âWe are vampires, and we want you to join usâ he said sticking his hand out
âJoin who?â I asked him
âChris, Nick and IâŠ.it would be a shame if you didnâtâ he said
âYouâre not a fucking vampire, vampires are mythsâ I said pushing his hand away
âNot trueâ he said shaking his head
âShow me thenâ I said
He came over and sat next to me looking at me with his dark eyes, opening his mouth and letting his fangs come out
My eyes widened and my mouth got dry
âReal enough for you baby?â He asks tilting his head
âIâŠ.I donât know how to feelâ I said looking away
âYou feel scared andâŠ.aroused?â He said raising his brow at me
âGet out of my headâ I said trying to push the feeling away
âItâs hard your thoughts are screaming at meâ he said
âWhat do you want from me?â I asked
âI want to turn you, and maybe fuck you tooïżœïżœïżœ he said brushing my hair out of my face
âI donât know Mattâ I said shaking my head
âOh come on, you can always be with Chris and Nick and I, and youâll be immortalâŠsounds stupid but I promise youâll love itâ he said
âAnd if I say no?â I asked
âI can hold out, but not for much longerâ he said looking over my body
âYou really want me to fuck youâ he blurted out
âGET OUT OF MY HEADâ I said rolling my eyes at him
âI canâtâŠ.its literally screaming at meâ he said
He pushed my hair over my shoulders, and leaned in kissing my neck
âCome onâ he said ghosting his fangs over my neck
âOh godâ I sighed out
âNo god here, just meâ he said licking my neck
âOK ALRIGHT!â I said snapping out of it
âIâll let you turn me, but we should fuck firstâ I said looking at him
âI like the way you thinkâ he said looking at me darkly
He pulled me in by my neck immediately smashing our lips together in a heated make out session, teeth clashing and tongues fighting for dominance
Matt stood up removing his shirt and unbuckling his belt before coming back down and crashing his lips to mine
I had pulled away to remove my shirt, and scooting back onto my bed laying there in just my underwear
âMmm so beautifulâ he moaned out licking his lips as his eyes got darker
He slid his jeans off and came over to me on the bed crashing our lips together once again before kissing down my neck and to the valley of my breasts, allowing his fangs to skim over my skin
âFuck Mattâ I moaned out
âI know babyâ he said against my skin causing me to squirm
He licked up the valley of my breasts till he got to my right breast taking the nipple into his mouth, and swirling his tongue around it
âMattâ I moaned out in a whisper
He went over to my left breast and did the same while rubbing his hands up my sides
He slowly started to kiss my my stomach down to my underwear before laying a kiss to my clothed pussy
âFuckâ I moaned out pulling his hair
This caused him to look up at me âowâ he said as his fangs descended
âSorry babyâ I said easing up on the pulling
âBe careful causing me painâŠmy fangs naturally come out that wayâ he said licking over his fangs with his tongue
âMy badâ I said biting my lip
He removed my underwear, and grazed the inside of my thighs with his fangs
âSo sweetâ he said licking my thighs
âMatt please I need youâ I said squirming beneath him
He leaned down immediately attaching his mouth to my cunt, licking and sucking at my clit
âshittttâ I moaned out bucking my hips forward
He pulled back allowing his fangs to graze over my cunt
âMattâŠ.â I said getting scared
âDonât worry baby I would never hurt youâ he said looking up at me
He came back up to make out with me
âI need you nowâ he said pulling away
âFuck me matt, pleaseâ I mewled out
He slid his boxers off, sliding his hand against my cunt to use my arousal as he jerked himself off
âSo good to meâ he said moaning and throwing his head back
He slowly brought his dick to my entrance sliding in slowly
âFuckkkâ we both moaned out at the sensation
Matt allowed me to adjust to his size before thrusting in out of me. Not too fast and not too slow
âShit you feel so goodâ he panted into my ear
âFuck babyâ I said gripping onto his back scratching down
âMmmmâ he said allowing his fangs to come out from the pain
He kept pounding into me, all that could be heard was our heavy breathing and our skin smacking
I started to clench down on him feeling all too good
âKeep doing that baby Iâm going to cumâ he said as he thrusted into me harder
âMmm Mattâ I moaned out biting my lip slightly drawing blood
Mattâs head perked up, and his eyes got really dark, immediately licking my bottom lip
âDonât tease meâ he said moaning and breathing in through his nose
âI didnât mean toâ I said looking at him
Matt started to thrust into me harder, and he snaked his right hand down to my clit rubbing as he thrusted faster
âShit Iâm going to cum, keep doing thatâ I said bucking my hips again
He kept thrusting as he rubbed my clit harder and faster
âShit shit shitâ I moaned out letting my jaw fall slack
âCome on baby cum for meâ he said letting his jaw fall too as he thrusted hard
âIâm cumming fuckkkkâ I moaned out clenching down on Matt dick as I came. My back coming off the bed as my legs began to shake. Holding eye contact with Matt as my mouth fell slack, and I came
He helped me ride out my high before pulling out and stroking his own dick
âIâm gonna cumâ he said stroking his dick faster
âCum for me Mattâ I said to him
And within two more strokes he came all over my lower stomach. Moaning my name, and holding eye contact as his eyes grew even darker
We both came down from our highs, and Matt cleaned me off. And then we got dressed. He laid down next to me
âIâm ready Mattâ I said looking over at him
âYou sure?â He asked looking at me
âYes Matt Iâm sureâ I said to him giving him a smile
âIâm going to give you my blood first, and then Iâm going to bite you. When I suck your blood you will start to die, but my blood will take over, and turn you. It wonât feel good, but slowly youâll start to turn within a few hoursâ he said
âWhatever you have to do, do itâ I said to him
He nodded his head, and sliced his two fingers with his fangs, bringing his fingers to my mouth allowing the blood to fall to my lips, and on my tongue
He then sunk his head down to my neck, and bit me
âOWâ I kind of yelled out
Matt kept drinking my blood, and my vision was getting blurry as I felt myself slipping away. It all went dark, and then suddenly I woke up
âWHAT HAPPENEDâ I said shooting up
âYou died, and then came back and then fell asleepâ Matt said looking at me. His blue eyes coming back
âWhat time is it?â I asked him
âItâs 10amâ he said smiling at me
âI slept for that longâ I said shocked
âWell you were dead for a good portion of itâ he said laughing
âI donât want to hear thatâ I said and then suddenly grabbing my head
âFUCKâ I yelled out
âThis is the fun part, Iâll sit back and watch youâ he said leaning against my wall
My head started to hurt so bad, and I felt sick. My vision going in and out as I saw all my memories flash through my mind
âOh GODâ I yelled out gripping my head
I jumped out of the bed
âMAKE IT STOPâ I said falling to my knees
âItâs almost overâ Matt said
Suddenly I felt my fangs coming in, and my eyes twitching. I got up and ran to my bathroom looking at myself in the mirror. My fangs were coming down, and my eyes were black as I was changing
Suddenly it all stopped, and my fangs went away my eyes turned yellow, and suddenly back to my natural eye color
I walked out of the bathroom trying to catch my breath
âHow do you feel?â He asked
âHungryâ I said with a blank stare
âWe have some stuff to take care of, letâs get readyâ he said smirking at me
The End
Aiii bitches how do we feel about vampire Matt. Personally I think itâs hot, but I got my own issues LMFOAOAOA. Hope yall enjoyed this đ€đ€

Hiiii, I was wondering if you could write a fic where Patrick sees someone get a little too close to reader and murders him? đȘđ©žđ«¶
You belong with me
(Sorry for the Taylor Swift reference, Im not a swifty but itâs one of the few songs I can stand and I didnât know what to title this lol, TW: murder, Patrick being Patrick)
Your pov
I sat at my desk, mindlessly typing away at my computer. I wanted nothing more than to get the day over with but the minute passed like hours. As I attempt to finish the paragraph, I hear a knock on my office door.
âYepâ I called out as the door opened, it was Paul.
âHey y/n, how are you doing?â He asked, taking a seat in front of me.
âMeh, I just want to go home. Itâs been a long day,â I laughed with my face in my hands.
âOh I hear ya,â he says, flashing a grin, his teeth seemed a little too big for his mouth. âNow I was going to ask you if you wanted to go out tonight?â The question was accompanied by another big tooth grin.
âListen, I would love to but-â I was cut off.
âOh come on like you have anything to do after work, pick you up at seven, yeah?â It wasnât a question. He got up and started for the door.
âPaul I-â
âSee ya!â And with that he closed the door behind him.
Before I could process what just happened, there was another knock on the door.
âYep,â I called out again but instead of Paul, Patrick walked in. He sat down across from me and put his feet up on my desk. âYes?â
âYou and Allen seem to be getting close?â This was more of a statement rather than a question.
âI mean I guess, what does it matter to you?â
âIt doesnât,â he said plainly and got up and left my office.
Patrickâs POV
I donât know why but it does matter to me. For some reason I canât live with the thought of Paul being so close to y/n,
âHey Paul,â I leaned up against his cubicle walls, I took note of them, ânice set up you got there.â I picked up what seemed to be a family photo and examined it.
âUh thanks I guess,â he took the photo out of my hands and placed it face down on his desk.
âGod I canât remember the last time I sat in a cubicle let alone worked in one,â I let out a laugh.
âWhat do you want?â
âI was wondering if you could stop by my place-â
âNu uh uh uh, canât. I got a date with y/n tonight,â he interrupted.
God he really has a problem with interrupting
âYeah yeah, Iâm sure you do, look itâs about your report, thereâs something I need you to change.â
âWhy canât we talk about it right now?â He asked, confused.
âBecause how can we discuss work matters without a drink or two?â
âI guess, as long as you make it fast,â he finally gave in.
Later that night, there was a knock on the door. When I opened it, it was Paul.
âAh Paul come in, come in,â I stepped aside to let him in.
âThanks for inviting me, but really we have to make it fast. Iâm supposed to pick up y/n in 45 minutes,â he walked in taking his coat off, âare you renovating?â He asked taking note of the plastic sheets that cover every part of my living room.
âSure. Can I get you a drink Paul? You look like an old fashion kind of guy.â
âUh sure.â
I walked to the kitchen and poured him his drink, but before I went back to the living room, I crushed up a handful of downers and dissolved them in his drink.
âDo you like Huey Lewis and The News?â I asked him.
âThere ok i guess,â he replied, taking a drink.
âTheir early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.â I started to ramble as I popped a CD in the player.
âHey Halberstram.â I could tell Paulâs speech was beginning to slur. The drugs were taking effect.
âYes Allen?â
âWhy are there copies of the style section all over the place, d-do you have a dog? A little chow or something?â
âNo, Allen.â I was in the kitchen at this point pulling on a raincoat. My ax was hidden behind the door frame.
âIs that a raincoat?â Allen laughed.
â Yes it is! In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself,â I took the ax and walked up behind Allen. I raised it above my head, âHey Paul!â
He looked behind him at me as the ax came crashing down into his face. Blood splattered all over my face and body.
âTRY TAKING Y/N ON A DATE NOW, YOU FUCKING STUPID BASTARD! YOU, FUCKING BASTARD!â
I caught my breath and regained my composure. I cleaned up the scene, took a shower, did my skin care, and went to bed.
Part 2??? Iâll probably do a part two. Sorry if itâs not entirely accurate yk, I need to rewatch the movie. If you have a request my inbox is open and as always the gif and divider are not mine.

đȘłđ©žDating Robert Montague Renfield Headcanons IđȘłđ©ž
A/N- I watched Renfield for the second time a few days ago after watching it for the first time back in June and decided to write headcanons for our favorite, beloved character.
So, this is my first time writing character dating headcanons and had this saved up in my drafts for a few months. Iâm going to be doing several of these as separate posts so that I donât go overboard when I write the headcanons out
Also, Iâm adding Renfield to my fourth list of character fanfic requests, so be on the lookout for that :)Â
So please enjoy these headcanonsâŠ
Warnings: Some language, minor angst, mentions of past abuse, minor violence, and a fluffy relationship
Citrus Scale: đ
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The two of you met at Assholes Anonymous at the local church one night. Just two complete strangers listening to other peopleâs problems and how they got here.
You were the same way too. Looking for a place to spill all your fillings out after having a huge falling out with your NOW ex shitty boyfriend. It felt like the floodgates opened up once you began to talk about your fucked up relationship.
Sobbing over everything heâs done to you for the past few years you were together. Everybody sat there including him, listening what youâve been through with a fucking low life like your ex.Â
After the meeting, he came up to you at the refreshments table to see how you were doing. Your eyes were very red and puffy from all the crying, he felt very bad for you. He took out his handkerchief and wiped away stray tears that were left on your cheeks.
He was so kind to you, the two of you started to talk with one another.
âIâm Robert Montague Renfield,â he held out his hand. You extended yours and shook his hand gently. âNice to meet you Robert Montague Renfield, Iâm (Y/N) (L/N).â You said with a smile.
The two of you hit it off pretty well. You saw one another again at the next meeting and it was his turn to talk. He talked about his narcissistic boss that always gave him problems at his job and how it was hard for him to work with that type of person.
You felt more bad for him than yourself. Having his boss hound him everyday was harsh enough. Thatâs when something incredible happened.
After the meeting was over, he came up to you all nervous looking, fiddling with his hands, â(Y/N). Would you like to go get some dinner with me? I know a great place in the square.â
You nodded your head, âyes. I would love to grab a bite to eat, Robert.â He smiled back and both of you locked arms as you walked out the door.
Once the two of you got to the restaurant and seated at your table, you started talking about your lives.
Robert talked about his stressful job and how his boss is making his whole life a living hell. You talked about your very shitty ex boyfriend and basically walked all over you for the past few years.
âWow. It sounds like we were destined for each other Miss (Y/N),â he said with a smile. âYeah. I guess we were,â you laughed a bit.
After dinner, Robert offered to walk back with you to your place and you said yes.
You walked hand in hand, as you finally arrived at your apartment door on the third floor.
Before you went to unlock the door, Robert cupped your face with his hands, leaned over, and pressed his lips against yours. They felt soft and sweet on your warm skin.
Once he was done and lifted his head back up, you felt your face blush from the sudden move. Robertâs face turned to a bright pink shade as he laughed a bit.
âI had a great time tonight Robert. Thank you again,â you giggled. â I did too. Good night (Y/N).â He leaned over again and kissed the top of your head. âYes. Good night to you too Robert.â Then the two of you waved each other goodbye as Robert walked away and you went into your apartment.
From that night on, a relationship blossomed between the two of you.
Robert took you on all kinds of dates all over the city. Brunches, lunches, dinners, cafes, picnics, movies, a night under the stars, etc.
He really understood you and your feelings. Robert made you feel important more than ever.
Everything was going well, until your ex boyfriend came back. He wanted to have a fresh start and wanted to start over with you. But you saw through him quickly.
When you told him to leave, he grabbed you and held you by your throat against the wall.
âListen to me you little bitch. You donât belong to anybody else, but me. You belong to me and me only.â You let out a soft whimper, as tears fell down your face.
Before he could do anything else to you, the door to your apartment burst open and you saw Robert charging straight in towards your ex. He tackled him full force into the kitchen, with his hand letting go of you and dropping you to the floor.
You could hear the crunching of bones and tearing of flesh, as you watched Robert beat him into a bloody pulp and then stopped.
After a few seconds of silence, Robert turned and looked over his shoulder at you. His hands and face were covered with blood splatter. When you looked into his eyes, they werenât blue. Instead, they were a golden yellow.
You wanted to get up and run out the door, but your legs felt frozen in place. Your soft whimpers turned into cries for help.
Robert quickly dashed towards you and embraced you in a tight hug. âOh dear God (Y/N). Iâm so so sorry you had to watch that.â He said, as he buried his face into your hair and ran his fingers through the strands. You continued to cry as you buried yourself into his soft sweater. Then as your cries soften, Robert cupped your face with both hands as he wiped away the tears with his thumbs.
âBut never in my whole life, Iâll ever harm you in any way. Iâll protect you and make sure youâll be safe. I swear it.â He said, as his eyes changed back to that beautiful blue color. He kissed the top of your head and then kissed your lips in a soft embrace.  Â

Dumb [03:47]
Pairing: Wednesday x femreader
Wordcount: 640
Warning: None
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These past few days youâve been all over the place, making it very hard for Wednesday to keep you in line. Not that she controls you or anything, but youâre a bit impulsive at times and take risks without thinking about the consequences. This night was not any different...
âReady?â Your friendâs voice was filled with mischief. âOkay go ahead. Iâm ready!â You closed your eyes and awaited the oncoming blow, but the hit never came. You slowly opened your eyes again, about to question him.
All until you saw what was keeping him from hitting you. âOh, W-Wednesday?â Wednesday was holding your friendâs fist, almost crushing his hand by the looks of it.
âItâs not what it looks like! I wanted him to punch me!â You became a rapper for a second, trying to save your friend from an unwanted hospital visit.
It was your stupid idea, to begin with. You wondered how it felt to be punched square in the jaw. It didnât take a lot to convince your friend since heâs as dumb as you, if not, dumber.
âDonât ask me why, but I just really want to know what it feels like to go knockout or something like that.â You smiled sheepishly.
Wednesday finally let go of his fist and stared at him with a blank look, âIf you ever try to hurt her again I will skin you alive.â
Before leaving he whispered a quick âWe will still do it, right?â You nodded your head and he quietly ran back to his dorm room. You hoped he made it without getting caught.
âYou will not do it again.â Wednesday glared at you menacingly. âHow did you even- never mind.â Of course, Wednesday heard him. Itâs not worth asking.
âBut how did you just spawn next to us like that?â You chuckled at the thought of her spying on you. âWhy are you even up so late? Were you spying on me?â You gasped dramatically to tease her a little bit.
âI have to since youâre senseless on occasion.â You decided it was best to ignore her comment and laughed it off. âSo you admit that you were spying on me?â You slightly bumped shoulders with her.
âNow follow me.â Wednesday didnât even wait for a reply before walking away to god knows where. You followed her silently, not wanting to make any more noise.
Youâve gotten in trouble multiple times for being outside of your dorm this late at night. The punishments that followed werenât fun at all. You donât want to clean the entire library again or feed Ms. Thornhillâs carnivore plants again. The last time you did that it bit your finger because you thought youâd be fast enough to pull away at the last second.
After a while Wednesday stopped moving, making you bump into her back. You quickly backed away with your hands held up. âSorry.â You giggled when Wednesday scowled at you.
Wednesday opened the door of an old-looking shed and closed the door again after both of you got in. You knew your girlfriend was a bit more on the weird side, but this made your stomach churn.
âWhatâs this?â You gulped audibly at the end of your sentence.
âMy torture room.â She answered as if it was the most normal thing ever. She continued doing her thing while you were scanning the room, looking at all the different torture devices.
âWhy am I here exactly?â Your voice sounded very unsure and maybe a tad bit scared - not of Wednesday, but of the sharp objects right in front of you.
âHere you have more options than only that punch.â A smirk made its way to her lips. âH-hey, this- this is not what I meant.â You watched her pick something up.
âEver wondered what a taser feels like?â

Stuck in a Rut: Dante x G/N Reader
NSFW ahead
Minors DNI
Seriously go away, children
Summary:Dante is going through his first rut with you being his mate. Things have been going fine; heâs been doing what he needs and you have been enjoying it. However, it is the last week of his season and he is having issues relieving his âitchâ for you.
Beginning Notes:
Since I keep writing long stories; I decided to take a break and write something smaller. This isnât super descriptive or anything, but I like it idk lmao
I know that this is âunrealisticâ and that like over like 7 inches or some shit would hurt you (and can kill you) just roll with it.
âšđ©žâš
Bottom G/N Reader x Top Dante--written with Male in mind, but no describing words or terms used that indicate such.
Basically, just smut with very minor fluff
Monsterfucking; Devil Trigger, Sin Devil Trigger
Knotting
Overstimulation; reader tells him to stop but it is disingenuous
Minor Mating/Breeding Kink
Biting
Very Minor choking
Small blood warning
==
Over the past few weeks, Dante and you had been sharing your (or rather his) first rut together. Things were going fine, great actually. The devil had been able to satisfy himself within a few rounds every six or seven hours. When you had sex it was mindblowing and, afterwards, he would shower you with pure romantic affections that made your heart melt. Today, however, Dante was having a hard time fulfilling those inner unholy urges.
âFuck- Dante~!â you felt the red devil manhandle you into a downward dog pose. A roasting grey-scaled hand pushed roughly down onto the back of your neck; forcing your head down and your hips up, âWait-- Please--â
Without hesitation, Dante shoved himself back inside and let out a tumultuous growl. Loud squelching noises came from you with every thrust of his hips, courteous of the several previous rounds of lovemaking. The two of you had been slamming hips together for nearly an hour now and you were beyond sore. Your hands gripped violently at the disheveled bedding as you felt him pick up the pace once more.Â
Dante moved his hand from the back of your neck and the top of your head, yanking it backwards. Slowly, he kissed along your neckline and was doing his best not to bite down too hard into your soft flesh.Â
âFuck,â you hissed at him, âbite me if thatâs what-- Ah~!âÂ
You didnât have to tell him twice, he bit down harshly piercing your skin with his sharp teeth. The red devilâs thrusts had become short and rough as he set the side of his face against yours. Hot breath washed over your skin as you leaned back against him; hoping that meant he was finally reaching his final peak.Â
With a final hard slam, he came inside you once more; burying himself to the hilt. Because of how much Dante had been ramming your poor hole, it didnât take much force to push his knot inside your body. Not only that but, you were full enough that his cum was already running out of your body.Â
The two of you sat breathing heavily as you mumbled to him, âAre you..?â you couldnât even finish your sentence out of exhaustion.Â
     Dante didnât respond.
You exasperatedly face-planted into the bed, muffling your words, âOh my godâŠâ
The red devilâs voice was soft and ladened with a thick feeling of remorse as he whispered, âIâm sorry⊠We can stop if--â
With a loud huff, you turned your head slightly to unmuffle your voice, âWhy donât you just use it?â
âWait--â Dante stiffened and sat upwards, pulling himself from your body--making you groan loudly, âYou mean..?â
âY-yes,â your hips dropped to lay flat on the bed and you shivered at the feeling of his seed gushing out of your body, âAt this point, I donât care.â
Dante stared down at you for a moment in thought, his cock still standing at full attention. Carefully, he flipped you over to face him and placed his hands flatly on the mattress beside your body, âYou donât know what you are asking me to do-- This will hurt,â admittedly, his cock was aching at you making such a naughty request.
âDante,â you tiredly set a hand on his cheek, slowly running your thumb over the ridges of his face, âDo it.â
His brow furrowed as he frowned with worry, âBut--â
âI want you to fuck me in your Sin Trigger, Dante,â your fingers slid behind the plating on his jaw and pulled slightly, eliciting a groan from the devil, âI want you to break me.â
A low growling came from deep within his chest as he looked down at you, âLast chance to back--â
You roughly pulled him down to meet your lips and forced your tongue into the heat of his mouth. Dante groaned at the feeling of you instigating such a fervorous kiss. The two of you fought for dominance, which Dante won of course; allowing him to explore your cavern freely. Once the two of you broke apart, the devil leaned back and stood up from the mattress.Â
Before you were even able to lean upwards to see him, a large set of broiling hands yanked you by your ankles to the foot of the bed. You swallowed hard as you felt the same set of grey and red scaled hands pick you up by your middle. Quickly, you wrapped your legs around the un-armored parts of his abs. This caused you to nick the underside of your legs on the large sharp spikes that decorated his thighs--making you hiss in pain.Â
In all your time being with him--even before you started dating--you had only seen his Sin Trigger a handful of times and that was always at a distance. Now that you are seeing him up close and personal, you were semi-afraid of your larger-than-life lover. His stature was enormous and the snarling growls he made as he moved you around like a toothpick, made you fearfully aroused.Â
     Thatâs when you felt it.Â
Although you know Dante warned you, you didnât really consider exactly how he meant that this would hurt; you, of course, knew that his dick would grow with him, but this was much more than you expected. You gasped at the feeling of his overwhelmingly thick cock head that prodded at your hole, trying to enter your body. Thankfully, there was plenty of Danteâs cum to use as lubrication; otherwise, the devil would have torn through your insides.Â
You shouted in pain at him trying to shove himself inside, âFuck!â desperately, you clawed and grabbed at his biceps, âDante-! Slower, pl-please,â tears had already sprung to the corners of your eyes as you grimaced, trying to relax.Â
Admittedly, you were worried if he was going to be able to understand you; however, the red devil did slow down as you requested. Relieved at the small amount of control he displayed, you closed your eyes to focus on allowing him inside. He slowly inched his way into your hole, emitting a low rumbling growl the entire time.
All the while, Dante licked at your neck and face in an attempt to apologize. The red devil had no lips to kiss you with, so this was the best that he could manage. His tongue was pleasantly hot and felt like a cat licking you; gently scraping your skin. Although you were overwhelmed by the insurmountable feeling of being stretched out by his cock, you couldnât help but laugh at the strangly cute action. However, this died down as you suddenly felt a pain start in your lower abdomen.Â
âWait--â Dante stopped both the movement of his hips and tongue at your words. Your breathing was heavy as you spoke between breaths, âI canât take any more in, pleaseâŠâ the red devil had pushed nearly ten inches inside your hole and still had plenty to spare.Â
He seemed to understand and stood still, allowing you to try to adjust. Distantly, you found yourself worrying about him trying to push too far into you when he finishes but were quickly brought back to reality by the sudden shifting of the red devil.Â
A loud sharp mixture of a moan and shout left your lips from him sliding out a few inches and pushing back in; moving in slow restrained movements, âFuck~! Dante, holy sh-shit,â your eyes rolled to the back of your head as he moved more.Â
It only took a few minutes for Dante to work up to a brutal pace. Loud and animalistic growls left his body as he fucked up into you, holding you like a living fleshlight--and treating you with the same respect. His fingers had tightened around your middle, bruising it almost instantly. A small amount of blood began to drip from your sides from the pin-prick tips of his claws slicing into your skin. Each one of Danteâs thrusts only made him hunger more for your body; hunger to make you his.
All this in contrast to you; you who was scarcely able to hold on and just continued loudly moan miscellaneous gibberish at the devil. A small amount of drool began to dribble from your mouth as you did your best to stay awake and your eyes rolled into the back of your head. You felt Dante begin to heat up, a sign that he was getting close--which he was much hotter than his Regular Trigger, you noted.Â
Wanting to hold him, you use what little energy you had and leaned forwards. Carefully, you set your hands on his face doing your best to avoid the spikes along his jaw. Upon feeling your small gentle human hands, the devil leaned into you and placed his forehead against yours. Dante growled louder in pleasure at your touch and cocooned you with his wings; holding you even closer. Although it wasnât clear because of the lack of pupils, you thought he was staring into your eyes--a rather romantic gesture during such a less-than-such fuck fest.
It was swelteringly hot within the bundling grasp of the devil, to the point of you feeling lightheaded. You knew Dante would stop if you passed out so you did your best to push him over the edge by trying to tighten your body--not wanting to have to try again later.
âDante,â your voice was hoarse, âPlease~â you felt him tighten his grip, âIâm all yours, Dante. Plea-ah~â his thrusts became short and ragged, âJust- Gah~ pleaseâŠâ
At this point, Dante was doing everything in his power to not force himself all the way inside you--knowing that you would die. However, all he wanted to do to knot your tight hole--to breed you. Because of this intense focus, he hadnât noticed that he had his claws sunk nearly an inch into your flesh and had begun to burn your delicate human skin with his scorching scaled palms.Â
You, admittedly, had noticed but were beyond overstimulated and exhausted; so you didnât care as long as he hit his climax.
It only took a few more stiff hard jabs before he spilled his hot load. Not really thinking, the red devil sunk his teeth deep into you as he normally would; not thinking of the consequences that this could and would have. Not only were his teeth razor sharp and quite large; the inside of his mouth was scaldingly hot and burnt your skin. The devilâs teeth sunk just shy of an inch deep into the side of your neck--making you suddenly aware of what he just did.Â
You shouted in both pain and pleasure, âDante~! That--â you hissed as you sliced your palm on his shoulders, forgetting that he is covered in spikes, âThat hurts-- Ah~!â you moaned loudly as you felt him shift his hips a bit.
The red devil just stood there unloading himself into your trembling body. You were full enough that most of his seed ended up on the floor and both of you; however, despite this, the devil made sure to stay inside you. He thunderously purred through his bite, making you feel tingly at the strange sensation. Admittedly, you were on cloud nine and the rumbling sensation only added to the intense overstimulation caused by your lover.Â
The two of you stood for several minutes as Dante slowly ground himself against you, still fighting the urge to push further into your delightfully full hole; the hole that belonged to him. His wings slowly unfurled from around you and his grip slowly loosened; removing his claws from your skin. You were on the verge of unconsciousness as you felt him shift once more; this time, however, it was because he was slowly backing out of his Sin Trigger--moving to his Regular Trigger.Â
A low groan left your pursed lips as you felt him remove his cock with an audible pop. You shivered as you felt a sudden wetness drip down your legs; accompanied by the feeling of being both too full and uncomfortably empty. The next thing he did was release his vice grip of a bite.
There were thick lines of his spit mixed with your blood that strung between your flesh and him as he slowly removed himself from you tender neck. Still coming down from his high, Dante had a wide smile as he gently set you down on a clean section of the bed. Looking down at your disheveled form, he wiped the blood from his mouth with a large proud smirk. You were relatively out of it at this point; wanting nothing more than to sleep--not caring about how messy everything was or how much loving pain you were in. The red devil placed a gentle kiss on your forehead due to a warm overly-sappy lovey feeling beginning to fill his chest.
It wasnât until he saw blood begin to quickly pool on the sheets below your neck that he began to realize the gravity of the situation. Although it wasnât uncommon for you to end up with some bleeding marks during the last few weeks; the bite from this session was much deeper and had larger holes than normal. Without thinking, the fiery devil placed one of his palms on your neck to cauterize the wound shut.Â
Which pulled you right back to reality with a loud shout, âFuck! Dante!â you tried to pull away from his palm.Â
With a small huff, Dante used his other hand to brace the opposing side of your neck and held you in place. After a few painfully long minutes, the devil removed his hand. A strained grunt left his lips as he returned to his human form, now just as exhausted as you.
You were breathing heavily and had tear streaks running down your face, âWhy..?â
He sighed and gently placed his head against your chest as he mumbled, âYou were bleeding too muchâŠâ
A small agreeing, âAh,â is all you could manage to say.
Admittedly, it was a good thing you were semi-delirious; otherwise, you would have shared in Danteâs worry. If he had bit down just a little further through your soft neck, the red devil would have bitten through your jugular and killed you. The two of you would have to figure out a safer way for him to use that side of him; if you want him to use it at all.Â
Before the two of you could discuss it, a small gentle snore caught Danteâs attention. You were already fast asleep. The devil stood up with a small shake of his head and a large toothy smile as he made his way to get some cleaning and medical supplies.
Surely you were going to be angry about how much your neck--and the rest of your body--hurt from today; however, that is for future Dante to worry about. All he wanted to do right now was clean you up and curl up close to you. You, his partner, lover, mate; his everything.Â

Ending Notes:
Hope y'all enjoyed this even though it's kinda short. The next story will most likely be a fluffy (not angsty) Vergil fic; so stay tuned lmao

Hey hey!! Welcome to the party đ©žđđđ
WAIT OKAY SO THIS IS SO CUTE STOP-
Like Iâm a firm believer that she knows the complete difference between the two of them, she sees them both so often that the differences are really obvious to her lil mind.
But then, âTsumu goes away for a week or two. And âSamu is left being the âmanâ in the house (though, both men would argue that you wear the pants in the family), it just so happens that Osamu is the male features that Hisako recognizes.
So. Naturally, when Atsumu comes home, heâs got a little hat on his head bc his roots look buckwild, Osamuâs also wearing a hat bc he just came back from Onigiri Miya, and for the first time in what seems to be ever, Hisako looks between the two, as if wondering whoâs who.
âThis is hilarious,â Osamu snorts, enjoying the way Atsumuâs skin crawls at the idea his own kid forgot who he was. The glare he got in return was worth it, as Hisako blinks interested between the two of them, almost as if she was trying to figure out why there were two of them who looked the exact same.
ââSako?â You coo, bending over to set down the baby, âdonât you wanna go see dadda?â
âYeah,â Osamu said, crouching down and opening his arms to entice her to come to him. âDonât you want to see dadda?â
âDonât start, Osamu!â Atsumu snaps, crouching down on his own knees, âIâm not in the mood, and I want my baby!â
âI know!â Osamu says dramatically. âSheâs going to come over, youâre fine!â
You try your hardest to try your snorts behind your hand, earning a glare from your husband while your child, his baby, his blood and soul, coos happily and crawls quickly over to her uncle- you know she only did it because heâs got the smile and inviting face while her father holds an exhausted features, but the way Atsumuâs face contorts into betrayal when his twin scoops her up into his arms is just the tiniest, littlest bit funny.
âThat settles that,â Osamu says cockily, and you chuckle before reaching out for Hisako.
âAtsumu-â
âDonât talk to me,â he grumbles. You roll your eyes at his dramatics before bringing your baby over, watching as her eyes light up in familiarity.
ââTsumu, she didnât forget you,â you promise, knocking the hat off his head with your free hand. As if on queue, Hisako beams a happy, teething smile up at your husband, and you can see him completely melt to her. âYou two look the same with hats on. Hell, I get you two confused sometimes.â
âTruly one of the worst things you could say right now,â atsumu snips, but the minute he takes the child into his arms, heâs smiling and curling against her and relishing in her smell, her own tiny hands grasping at his hair. âNever wanna leave you again,â he murmurs, but heâs quick to shoot you a playful glare. âThe two of you? I could pass on.â
âNo, you couldnât,â you assure, kissing his temple before turning on your heel to head into the kitchen.
He sighs and looks at his twin with a dramatic sigh. âNo, I couldnât.â

Fight or flight ~ chapter 1
đȘđ©žđȘœ
Pairing: Lucy Gray Baird x Fem! Reader - 1,217 words
Warnings: Character death(Coriolanus snow), (sort of)domestic violence? Does this count? Attempted murder(drowning), knife usage, mentions of gun violence, abusive/toxic relationship.
Youâd just finished working late in the coal mines, and were walking home, shoulders slumped and face covered with coal dust. Just then, you heard someone behind you, you turned, ready to drive your pickaxe into any potential attackerâs face. But youâre shocked to see Lucy Gray Baird panting in front of you.
Her eyes were teary, and she was hyperventilating. You drop the pickaxe and reach out to her, hesitating just before actually making contact. âWhat happened?â Lucy Gray leans in the rest of the way, wrapping you in a hug. âItâs Coriolanus â heâs gone mad,â she whispers, âHe shot Mayfair dead at the Hob tonight.â She bites her trembling lip.
âAnd Billy Taupe too, he told me not to tell anyone causâ heâll get in trouble. But I know the mayor, heâll think it was me, wonât stop till Iâm strung up in the hanginâ tree.â You rub her arms to try to soothe her. You hardly knew how to reassure the poor thing, luckily she continues before you even have to. âIâm runninâ away, I canât trust Coriolanus anymore and I donât wanna go alone.â
You nod fast, âYou want me to go with you. I will.â You wipe Lucy Grayâs tears away with your thumb. âWhen are we leaving?â She seems surprised at how fast you agree, but her expression hardens, âMeet me at the hanginâ tree, tomorrow at dawn.â You brush her flowing brown hair behind her ear. âIâll be there.â
The brunette offers her best attempt at a smile, âMake sure to bring your things⊠I donât think weâll be cominâ back anytime soon.â She pauses, âwhy are you so willinâ to come with me so fast?â You want to tell her youâd follow her anywhere, but now wasnât the time for such romantic thoughts. âYouâre my friend.â You say instead. Lucy Gray smiles, for real this time.
âIâm glad for that. Thank you Y/n.â Lucy Gray whispers, and just like that sheâs disappeared into the dark of the night. You rush back home and wash the coal dust from your body with a wet rag.  You think over what your friend had told you. Youâd never trusted that Coriolanus guy. Sure, he was pretty and all, and Lucy Gray had seemed to really love him, but there was just something about him that irked you and made it impossible for you to trust him.
The one thing youâd ever thank that man for was saving Lucy Gray in the arena. You brushed off the thought as you stuffed your belongings into a bag so they were ready in the morning. When youâre done you set the bag by your pickaxe at the door. You drag your feet as you walk to your bed and lay down.
âââ
The following morning before sunrise you grab your things and sneak out to the hanging tree. With how careful you have to be, by the time you get there the sun is peeking over the distant horizon. You smile slightly at the beauty of it. You walk right up to the tree and spot Lucy Gray standing there wearing a small satchel which surely held all of her belongings.
âY/n, you came.â She smiles weakly. You smile back, âIâd have to be a fool to ditch you.â You say, and offer her your hand which she takes gratefully. Lucy Gray leads the way through the street, you two try your best to be discreet, but a few peacekeepers throw you looks anyway.
When you get to the edge of the forest Lucy Gray stop abruptly, causing you to bump into her. She nearly tumbles down into some bushes, but steadies herself. âWhyâd you stop?â You tilt your head, squinting due to the first light of the sun. âI wanna make sure that youâre sure of this decision.â She squeezes you hand gently and looks back at you with deep brown eyes.
âIâve never been more sure in my life. Please, letâs go together.â Lucy Gray smiles a bit wider and nods. âOkay, letâs head to the lake first?â You agree without argument.Â
It rained hard that day.
By the time you got to the shed, you were both soaked, despite your best attempts to cover up Lucy Gray. She insisted it was fine, but you saw the way she shivered. You open the door for her, and walk in after. âWe should catch some fish while weâre here. We might not have another chance to get food for a while.â
Lucy Gray grabs a small cutting knife from a shelf by the door. âRight. Iâll check up on the katniss then, even if itâs a lil too ripe it might be semi edible with the fish.â You nod your agreement and lift the usual loose floorboard to findâŠ
Fishing rods. Nothing else. You pick up one of them. âAlright, but if itâs too, too early then we can just eat the fish. Donât you worry.â Lucy Gray gives you an affectionate look before leaving. You grab anything to use as bait and exit the shed soon after. You spot Lucy Gray knelt down looking over the swamp potatoes a little ways away.Â
You hook some bait onto your line and cast it. You look into the surface of the gray water. With each raindrop that hit it, the surface rippled. It felt surprisingly good to be there, especially with Lucy Gray.
Something snags your line a couple minutes later, and just as youâre about to reel it in, you hear a scream from down the lake. You drop the fishing rod immediately and jump up. You turn on your heel and look to the patch of katniss. Your heart drops.
Coriolanus violently pins Lucy Gray down in the mud, while she flails under him. She gets a single kick in before he starts shoving her face into the water. You break into a run, as fast as you can to where they are. Lucy Gray is only more panicked now that she canât breathe either and it only serves to anger you.
You spot Lucy Grayâs cutting knife, strewn aside in the mud, just out of her reach. You grab it and donât think twice about slashing at Coriolanusâ back. Itâs effective, he lets go and Lucy Gray comes up sputtering and gulping down air. Coriolanus turns to you in a fury, you notice how much darker his eyes look.
With only the thought of protecting Lucy Gray you stab him. Then again. And again. Lucy Gray stared in horror at the stabbing, her jaw dropped. She forces her mouth to close again when she looks at you. You push Snow aside and grab Lucy Gray. âAre you okay? Are you hurt? Where did he come from?â
You rapid fire questions before realizing you should take it easier, seeing how someone just attempted to murder her. âIâm okayâŠâ she answers shakily, âis heâŠ?â You check Coriolanus for a pulse. âUh⊠yeah. Might be for the best I hate to say.â You grab Lucy Grayâs hand again and stand up.
She clings to your arm, staring at Coriolanusâ dead body. You pull her away, and walk to the dock to gather up the fishing rod again. You drag Lucy Gray back to the shed.
Note: If you guys like this one enough Iâll make chapter 2, hope you enjoyed!

â.àłàż*:First Moon Pity Party
In which Harryâs daughter starts her period, and with neither her sister or mum home, she must confess her âembarrassingâ situation to her father.. đšâđ§đ§Œđ©ž
âïž
Red. The colour red was the that stained her damp, rosy cheeks and joggers when Dottie realised sheâd started her period; her first ever period.
Sheâd originally planned on using the bathroom like any normal human, until she spotted the smudged stain of blood on her joggers and underwear. âFuckâ is what she muttered harshly under her breath as she stood with her trousers half-way down her legs.
Dottie carefully stepped out the legs of her joggers and chucked them into the sink, turning on the tap. She unhooked her mumâs dressing-gown from the back of the bathroom door and tied it âround her. Luckily it was red too. She prayed her uterus would give her a few minutes before gravity took its side so that she could wash her stained clothes.
It was when she began scrubbing the stain with Detol hand soap that she began to cry. She wished her mum was here, or at least her older sister, to comfort her or help her clean herself up. She was only thirteen, none of her friends had started their periods either so she felt lost and confused. She knew her Mum would make a great deal out of it; sheâd probably cry a little as well. Dottie laughed slightly at the thought of her Mum even going as far as congratulating her with Dad patting her shoulder awkwardly.
But, neither mum or Opal were home and her Dad was only in the room next door.
The bottle of hand soap suddenly slipped as she pumped another dollop of suds into her hand and it thudded to the floor, rolling on the tiles till it stopped when it hit the skirting board.
âPiece of shit.â Dottie hissed with a sour scowl tugging at her features. Her breath hitched in her throat when a knock came from the other side of the wood door.
âDottie? Yâkay?â Dad. She looked up at herself in the mirror with a dreaded look fixated deep in her brows.
âUh, ye-ah! Iâm fine, Dad.â Dottie called back, voice cracking with stress. She winced at how her answer wasnât very believable, even to the most gullible of ears.
Scanning the room for the dirty washing basket, she swiped the tap handle and the water turned off. She hurriedly dried her hands on the dressing gown. The basket was downstairs in the kitchen, waiting for its contents to be chucked into the washing machine.
âYou didnât fall, did you?â Could he just go away?
âN-No! But Dad, itâs really embarrassing butâI think I started my. .â She held a breath tight in her chest and look back at the soggy-sop of clothes in the sink. âmy period. . .â
âAre you serious? Do you need any help, love?â Harry came closer to the door, his ear nearly touching the painted wood as he listened for a reply. âI know Iâm not Mum, but you know this stuff isnât embarrassing or gross to me, right?â
There was a pause from both sides before the latch lock slowly got slid across and the door was opened.
Dottie looked up at her father with shame and embarrassment written all over her face. Harry scanned her features before bringing her in for a hug.
âYou never have to feel embarrassed or awkward around me, âkay? I grew up with two women in the house and now Iâm raising two of my own,â He ruffled Dottieâs hair and stroked her sweaty hairline, âIâm used to it, Love. Iâve helped Mum when sheâs had bad cramps. Iâve cleaned the sheets, Iâve helped your Aunt when she and I were younger. And your sister and even my own Mum. Iâd say Iâm a pro at this!â He smirked cheekily.
A small chuckle was squeezed from Dottieâs tense demeanour and she nodded. âWell, you know more than me at this moment. .â
âYouâll get to know and understand your body soon, donât panic. Watch out though, Mum might throw you a first moon party.â
âIâd rather bleed from my eyes.â They both laughed and Harry craned his neck down to his the crown of his daughterâs head.
âCmon, go get changed. Iâll wash your joggers for you, okay?â Heâd spotted the saturated dark-grey joggers in the sink when the door first opened. He had a dark-load of washing to do anyway (which heâd actually forgotten about) by demand of his wife.
âThanks, Dad.â
ââCourse, Poppet.â

Song of the imagine: Naughty Girl- Beyoncé
Minder
Noun
A persons whose job it is to look after someone or something
I had let Madi and Nick talk me into going clubbing with them. I was telling them how Iâve been feeling so ugly and bleh lately, and they told me the best remedy for that is to go out and dance on hot guys and make out with random men in a club
At first it took me some convincing
âIâm not too sure guys, thatâs not really my vibeâ I said, getting a little anxious. I hated anything pertaining to clubs or parties, or anything loud and crowded
âCome onnnn itâs going to be so much funâ Madi said
âI donât know I just get anxiety going to crowded places, especially as two girls and a gay man, thatâs crazyâ I told them
âIâll get Chris and Matt to come with usâ Nick said non chalantly
âI donât know guysâ I said looking down
âPLEASEEEE you can get all hot, and youâll have the three of us protecting you guysâ Nick said
And finally I agreed. That was a few days ago, and now it was a Saturday night, and we were all getting ready
Madi wore a black strapless dress with cutouts all over it and black heels
Nick wore a blue button down with the buttons slightly undone with white pants and white air forces
Chris wore a black shirt with black jeans and his timbs with his Yankees fitted hat
Matt wore a denim zip up jacket with a white shirt under and denim jeans the same color as his zip up jacket
I was in the room with Madi when I started to feel really self conscious about my outfit. Madi convinced me to dress super slutty with her, so we could get in for free and make out with hot guys.
âMadi, I don't know how I feel. I fell super over dressedâ I said looking in the mirror
âY/N look at my outfit! You can see every ounce of my skinâ she said laughing. Which was true, but Madi and I had different bodies
âI donât know Madiâ I said still looking in the bathroom mirror
âJust come out let me seeâ she said sitting on Nicks bed waiting for me to come out
I decided to bite the bullet and walk out. Her jaw immediately dropped
I had a dark red latex dress on that HUGGED EVERYTHING. My boobs practically spilling out the top. If i bed over my ass is def out as it was barely mid thigh length. I had the same pair of black heels on as Madi
âY/N you look SO FUCKING GOOD LIKE SO GOODâ she said smiling at me
âI donât know MadiâŠ.. I feel exposedâ I said trying to hide myself
âY/N you are so beautiful, and your body is bangin! Just let loose, and letâs just have funâ she said
âYou know what! Okay fine yes letâs goâ I said grabbing my purse
She walked ahead of me as we walked down the stairs. She practically ran down the stairs
âGUYS WAIT TILL YOU SEE Y/Nâ she said clapping her hands together. I had came down the stairs and walked to the kitchen
âWOAHHHHHHâ Nick said genuinely shocked
âYou look so goodâ Chris said
âIâm afraid Iâm going to have to say youâre HOTâ Matt said pretending like he burned himself touching me
âThank you guysâ I said shyly
âAlright bitches letâs gooooâ Nick said
âAnd donât worry girls tonightâs about you guys having fun weâll stand guard protecting youâ Chris said wrapping his arms over both Madi and Iâs shoulders
Matt had driven us downtown to where all the best clubs were at. He parked in one of the valet parking lots so we could walk to one of the clubs
The three boys had walked behind us allowing Madi and I to be 4 feet ahead. As we were walking out the parking lot every single guy was looking at Madi and I
As I was walking with Madi we had passed by two guys checking us out
âYo girl in the red dress, your ass is FATâ one of them said as I walked by. I turned around after that looking at the three boys, and they all had looked back at the guy giving him a dirty look
âSEE Y/N I told you you were so hot in that dressâ Madi said smacking my ass
âSTOPPPâ I said laughing
As we were heading to one of the clubs a guy tried to stop me
âYo ma! Come on give me a chanceâ he said as I kept walking by him
âSheâs goodâ Chris said giving him a dirty look
âOh sorry man I didnât mean to hit on your girlâ he said backing down
By this point we had gotten to a club that was having a Y2K night, we all got on line waiting to be let in
When we got to the front of the line the girl had stopped us
âAlright hot girls are $5, but yall can get in for freeâ she said winking at Madi and I, but she stopped the boys charging them each 15$
After they paid we all got in and stood close together looking for an area to sit in.
We had finally found a clear table at the back of the club that the boys had decided to sit at to our stuff while we danced
As Matt and Chris sat down taking Madi and Iâs bag
Move, Shake, Drop started blasting
âOHHHHHH weâre dancing to thisâ Nick said grabbing Madi and Is hands to drag us to the dance floor
The three of us went to the dance floor and started dancing all on each other grinding all up on one another. Laughing and truly enjoying ourselves.
After we danced we went back to the table and ordered some water. As we were drinking our water Naughty Girl by Beyoncé started playing
âI have to dance to thisâ I said jumping up
Matt decided he wanted to dance with me, so we went to the dance floor and started dancing together also grinding up against each other and just feeling the music
âAlright ima swap out with Nickâ he said after dancing for like 2 minutes
âAwww okayâ I said still swaying my hips
Nick came running over with Madi and once again we all started dancing on each other, and soon the song changed into Culo by Pitbull
âOHHHHHHHHâ the three of us screaming and our grinding turned into ass shaking
We all started screaming the lyrics âEstĂĄ tan linda, estĂĄ tan rica y tiene tremendo CULO!â
Nick was really feeling this song because the way he was dancing was making Madi and I die laughing
After that song ended we went back to the table to take another break
âGuys this is so much fun Iâm so glad yall brought meâ I said taking a sip of my water
âOh my goshhhh Iâm so glad youâre enjoying yourselfâ Madi said
âYessss who wouldâve thought shaking your ass makes you feel so happyâ I said laughing
After about 10 minutes my favorite dembow song started playing Curazao by El Alfa
âNOOOO I HAVE TO DANCE TO THISâ I said jumping out my seat
âOh girl idk how to dance to this beatâ Nick said laughing
âFine Iâll go alone, just keep an eye on meâ I told them and they all nodded their head
I ran to the dance floor and immediately started jumping around and dancing with the surrounding people. One girl started shaking her ass and I started to cheer her on
âYESSSS BITCHHHHâ I started screaming, smacking her ass. She got up and started laughing with me clearly very drunk
âShake your ass bitch!!â She said cheering me on
I decided to start shaking my ass, and then she started shaking her ass, and slowly a circled opened up around us, and we just stood there shaking our ass
People were cheering us on and throwing money at us, and all we could do was laugh and dance on each other, and shake our ass
âOMG LOOK AT Y/Nâ Madi said getting her phone out to record
The three boys eyes went to the dance floor seeing Y/N and this random girl shaking their ass as everyone threw money at them and cheered them out
âYESS BITCHâ Nick started yelling as he got up to get a better view
Right as the song was ending the girl and I decided to stop dancing and she gave me a hug, and kiss on the cheek. We laughed about this, and I started walking back to the table
âWho wouldâve thought you had that in youâ Chris said actually shocked
âI havenât shook my ass like that in so long Iâm shocked I even survivedâ I said out of breath
âYou was fucking it upâ Madi said clapping at me
All of a sudden this guy from my ride side started to get a little too close
âExcuse meâ I said as he was practically on top of me
âYouâre excused pretty ladyâ he said in a very very drunk manner
âYeah back upâ I said to him kind of pushing him
âYou looked really good out thereâ he said eyeing me up and down
âGet the fuck awayâ Nick all of a sudden yelled from behind me
The drunk guy was ignoring Nick and continuing to try and speak to me
âCan you go away like what the fuckâ I said putting my hands in his face and getting loud with him
âYo! Back offâ Chris said now sitting up getting close to the edge of the table
The guy then grabbed my face âyouâre gorgeous when you smile, keep a smile on that faceâ I pulled my head back from his hand and immediately smacked him across the face. After my hand connected with his face the three boys and Madi were more alert
Itâs like the smack woke him up because he went to hit me back. But Nick came up from behind me and clocked him right in his face. That sent him stumbling back, but not enough to knock him down
The guy came back and shoved me backwards. Immediately Chris and Matt got up. Chris charged at the guy and landed a hit to his eye. All of a sudden I see a fist flying over me and Mattâs fist just connected with the guy's jaw. This fucker still wasnât going down.
The guys started throwing punches, and I felt Madi pull me back away from the fight. When I finally get a good look itâs Chris, Matt and Nick fighting the one guy who touched me. When all of a sudden two other guys came to help the guy. Now it just became a big brawl and all I kept see was fists flying, and Chris Matt and Nick cursing at the guys while wailing on them
Chris had the main guy in a choke hold, Matt was standing over the second guy with his shirt in his collar just cracking him non stop, and Nick was on a table with the guy on top of him, but Nick was just non stop punching him
Within 30 more seconds a whole team of security had separated them and grabbed us and kicked us out the club
âYEAHHHH FUCKING PUSSIESâ Chris started screaming at the men as they started walking the other direction
âPUT YOUR HANDS ON ANOTHER WOMAN PUSSYâ Matt was screaming
âAlright guys letâs goâ Madi and I said grabbing the boys
âHoly shitâ I said looking at the three boys
Chris had a busted lip, Matt had a split eyebrow and Nick's eye socket was starting to bruise and his lip was also busted. All theyâre knuckles were bloody, and for sure going to be bruised
âYou guys were fucking them uppppâ Madi said laughing all geeked
âTuh like you donât put your hands on a woman and expect to not get your ass beatâ Matt said wiping the blood off his eyebrow
âNick I watched that first fist connect, and I swear it was like out of a movieâ I said as we walked to the parking lot
âI honestly blacked out I just swungâ he said spitting blood from his mouth
âAnd then all of a sudden there were fists everywhereâ I said
âYo he pushed you, and Matt and I jumped up and just started wailing on that motherfuckerâ Chris said
âI was watching in aweâ Madi said. âi was like what the fuck is happeningâ she said mind blown
âHad Nick not swung, he wouldâve cracked my shitâ I said laughing
âI wouldâve fucking killed himâ Nick said
âI really thought he was about to peel my wig backâ I said dying of laughter
âI promise you I wouldâve fucking kilt himâ Chris said
âIâm so thankful for you Nick cause you really saved meâ I said giving him a side hug as we walked
âI love you so much I just immediately knew I had to protect youâ he said hugging me back
âAwwwww NICKKKKKâ Madi said pretending to cry
âHad anyone touched either of you? I wouldâve beat their assesâ Nick said also grabbing Madi to hug her as we walked
âAt one point when it became that big brawl Chris was stomping on one of the guys with his timbsâ Matt said looking at us
âYooo these timbs come in handy I was stomping the yard on his assâ Chris said laughing
We were all dying of laughter, and by this point we had got to the parking lot, and walked to the car
âAre you okay to drive?â i asked Matt
âYeah Iâm good he just got my eyebrowâ he said giving me a reassuring smile
âUhhh our knights in shining armor. We have to patch you up when we get homeâ I told them
When we finally got home we alls showered, and Madi and I tended to their cuts and knuckles
And the rest of the night we were laughing at the retelling of the story, and how Chris was stomping the guy out in his timbs
âI love you guys so muchâ I said laughing while holding my stomach
âWe love tooâ Nick said
The End
I really enjoyed writing this, and I hope it gets more likes than my first Nick imagine. I love Nick so idk why no one likes his storyđđđ but anywhooo any requests???đđ

Fic title from Wolf Like Me - TV On The Radio
It had taken two hoursâtwo whole, entire hours, from 12:30am to nearly 3amâfor Munson to get enough things together for him to feel ready to leave for Steveâs house. Heâd kept getting distracted, rifling through his room like heâd forgotten almost everything he owned and each uncovered trinket was a noteworthy discovery. And Steve was annoyed.
Dustin and Chrissy managed to keep Eddie on track, somehow, and Steve knew if they hadnât theyâd never have left before the sun came up. All heâd done was sit in the doorway to Eddieâs room and complain that they were wasting time. How many damn band tees did a guy need, anyway?
When he saw Eddie try to put his infamous lunchbox into his patched up duffel bag, Steve put his foot down. âNo, youâre not bringing that into my house.â
âIâm an entrepreneur, Harrington, donât tell me I canât keep up my business. One that youâve personally partaken in, in fact, so you being stuck up about it isnât gonna fly.â he replied with a tight smirk.
âBusiness?â Dustin asked, but went ignored by every teen.
âIf youâre still out makingââ Steve glanced at Dustin. âMaking money, running around town, that messes up the plan. And you canât have them come to my house either.â
Eddie grit his teeth, clearly trying to bite back a sneer, then tossed the lunchbox onto his bed a little rougher than Steve thought was necessary, narrowly missing Chrissy who was unfazed. Steve just rolled his eyes.
There was an awkward moment of silence, then Dustin spoke again. Bluntly. âEddie, are you a prostitute?â
Eddie burst out laughing, loud and unrestrained. Chrissy choked out a giggle, hand over her face. Eddie doubled over with his arms wrapped around his waist and Steveâs eyes were drawn to the way his eyes crinkled at the corners, dark lashes fanned over his cheeks while tears started to clump them together. Swallowing, Steve looked away and ignored how his face heated at Dustinâs question.
âJesus H. Christ, kid, thatâs a new one,â Eddie said around his poorly contained cackling, wiping at his eyes. âIâm a creature of the night, not a man of the night. Thereâs a difference.â
Of course, Dustin wasnât deterred. âWhatâs in the lunchbox then?â
It was then that Eddie scooped up the joint heâd rolled for Steve off the floor, like heâd just remembered it was there, and shoved it into his pocket. âSomething Iâll tell you about when youâre older.â
âNo, you will not,â Steve said firmly, glaring at Eddie who held his hands up in surrender in a way that was distinctly sarcastic, a glint in his eye like he knew he was pushing Steveâs buttons. It set his teeth on edge. The dimple that appeared when Eddie smirked and winked at Dustin made it worse.
But, eventually, they were on their way. Chrissy drove off after promising to stop by Steveâs in a day or two, and also after extracting from Steve a promise to keep Eddie safe. She and Eddie had hugged for a long time while Steve loaded Dustinâs bike into his trunk, which did nothing to convince Steve there wasnât something going on between them, but at this point it wasnât really his business.
On the way to drop Dustin off, the kid asked Eddie an endless stream of questions which Eddie could only answer half of. Was he able to go out in sunlight? No. What happens? His skin starts to boil and blister. Did he have a healing factor? Yes. Could he turn into a bat or a wolf? He fuckinâ wished.
When Steve parked in Dustinâs driveway, Dustin was in the midst of asking, âSo who turned you?â
âUh, wasnât a âwhoâ as much as it was a âwhat.ââ Eddie leaned into the space between the front seats, tilting his chin up and pulling down the collar of his shirt. There was no missing the scarring on Eddieâs jaw, but it was shocking to see how far it went down, and how ragged the scarring really was.
âDid you get used like a chew toy?â Steve asked, which got a snort out of Eddie.
âBet youâd know all about that, huh?â he teased. Steveâs lips pursed and he hoped it was dark enough they couldnât see the flush in his cheeks. He shouldnât have said anything.
Before Eddie could start explaining, the front door swung open, spilling light onto the driveway and Claudia stepped out, hair in curlers, wrapped in a fluffy bathrobe, and wearing a deeply worried frown. Dustin cursed under his breath and scrambled out of the car with a hasty goodbye.
âYouâre welcome!â Steve said, but Dustin slammed the door shut before he finished, trapping the following sigh within the leather upholstered interior.
He only half-listened to the muffled conversation between the Hendersons, having heard the worried questioning brushed off too many times to count, now, and returned the smile and wave Claudia sent his way before they went inside.
âKidâs really got an ego,â Eddie said with a nervy laugh, and Steve snorted.
âYou could say that again,â he replied.
The drive home was, well, probably the most awkward one Steve had ever experienced. For all of Eddieâs bluster in the trailer he fell unnervingly silent. His leg, though, kept bouncing rapidly, and he picked at his cuticles while he kept his gaze fixed out the windshield. Even his slow heart picked up to something a little closer to a normal, human pace.
âYou okay, man?â Steve eventually asked once the bouncing started to drive him a little insane.
The laugh that escaped Eddie sounded manic. âSure, dude, just waiting for the point at which you pull over and take me out like some supernatural hitman.â
âWait, what? Iâm not gonna t-take you out!â
âYou mean you werenât waiting to get me alone just to assassinate me?âÂ
Steve shook his head, baffled. âNo! Iâm literally just taking you to my place. That was the plan, not whatever⊠insane thing youâre thinking of.â Sparing Eddie a glance, he caught him staring back with wide, tense eyes, his irises black in the darkness of the car. âI promise, Munson. No funny business.â
He let out a long exhale, but finally Eddie slumped heavily into the seat. âThank fuck. I donât particularly want to die, especially not at the hands of a monster-hunter-turned-werewolf.â
âIf it helps, Iâd make it quick and painless,â Steve said, smirking. He hoped the joke would land and not make Eddie either more worried or, worse, piss him off. He didnât want an angry vampire loose in his car.
Thankfully, after a pause, Eddie barked out a laugh, head thumping against the headrest. âGood to know Iâm in the hands of an ethical killer, then.â
Steve chuckled along, but it faded quickly as the words soured something in his gut. He had to set that straight, right now. âI donât, uh, kill. If I can help it.â Catching Eddieâs interested look, he continued. âIt kinda goes on my record as a hunter, and not as a good thing, but I canât bring myself to do it. Thereâs some stuff thatâs really just an animal, and if they go feral then I have no choice, but thatâs, like, the very last option. Most creatures are pretty sentient, soâŠâ
âSo killing them feels wrong?â Eddie supplied where Steve trailed off, and Steve nodded, finally pulling into his own darkened driveway.
âYeah. They can be reasoned with, somehow, or led away to a safer place, yâknow?â
âHuh.â
With the Bimmer in park, Steve turned to Eddie. He had his head tilted to the side, curls draped across his unscarred cheek as his eyes darted all over Steveâs face. A tiny line formed between his eyebrows. Steve felt examined, like Eddie was assessing him, and wanted to look away, get out of the car and walk off the buzz the intensity left under his skin. Maybe it was just a vampire thing.
A slow smile stretched Eddieâs full lips, one that felt much more genuine than any others Steve had seen that night. âSo youâre just a glorified wildlife rescuer?â he said, amused. Steve just shrugged.
âI guess so. Supernatural wildlife.â
âNow that makes me feel a lot better. Bleeding Heart Harrington, who knew?â
âShut up, youâll ruin my reputation,â he joked. Shoving Eddieâs shoulder, he said, âCâmon, letâs get you settled in Munson.â
â
Having someone in his house 24/7 was an experience Steve hadnât had since he was a kid. Once he hit his mid-teens, his parents started going on consultation trips and left Steve in as the resident Harrington Hunter in Hawkins, only backed up by the (usually ineffective) police, and the Carvers. He did well enough for himself, and he took a little bit of pride in being independent, told himself he liked the quiet. Filling the house with parties, before everything went to shit, was just expected of him. Having Robin and the kids around a few times a week was just for hunter business (and to hang out with his best friend).
This, though? Having a bored, listless, undead roommate messing with his things, moving them out of place, leaving wet towels on the bathroom floor even though the basket was right there, closing all the blinds and curtains instead of staying in the guest room to sleep during the day, like a normal person would? It was the most annoying experience of his life.
Each morning heâd join Steve in the kitchen before work, his eyes boring longingly into Steveâs mug of coffee. The first morning he offered to brew more, yet Eddie shook his head and said, âWish I could, buddy, but I donât think either of us wants to clean up that mess,â and cackled at Steveâs disgusted grimace. But it turned into a routine from there, with Eddie poking fun at his momâs dull decor choices and Steveâs hair care habits while Steve struggled to bring his brain up to speed with Eddieâs seemingly endless energy. He did notice the dark circles under Eddieâs eyes growing a little more intense each day, but if Eddie didnât seem bothered by anything, Steve wouldnât mention it.
Steve would come home to find his parentsâ records strewn all across the off-white carpet, Eddie lying amongst the pile listening to whatever heâd claimed to be âbarely tolerableâ at a truly ridiculous volume. He couldnât get too mad, because when heâd ask Eddie to turn the volume down heâd give a genuine apology and scramble up to reach the volume knob, but still. Annoying.
Add to it the rest of the Party, who demanded to invade his house as soon as Dustin told them all the news, and Steve was ready to pop a blood vessel.
He wasnât supposed to have to babysit a group of middle schoolers and a fully-grown adult nerd, and yet. Here he was. At least the others would be arriving soon for a meeting.
They were so loud, too. Dustin, Mike, and Eddie sounded like they were arguing but from the sounds of it they were just excited. Will, Lucas, and Max sat in their own little bubble, talking just as loud if only to hear themselves over the obnoxious yelling. Steve had to close himself in his kitchen and breathe for a few minutes before he could face the noise, and how Max managed to handle it he had no idea.
âAlright, hey!â he shouted over the mass of nerds huddled in his living room. They didnât stop. He clapped his hands, loudly. âHey!â
Finally all their heads turned to him. Will and Lucas at least had the manners to look apologetic. The rest of them were unimpressedâthough Max was exempt, Steve couldnât change that if he tried.
âKeep it down, youâre gonna make me burst an eardrum.â
âWhatever, old man,â Max snarked with a little smirk. Lucas laughed, making Steve roll his eyes with a fondness heâd deny.
âSorry, Steve,â Will said.
He sighed. âItâs fine. Donât know what youâre all screaming about anyway.â
âEddie was telling us about his D&D campaign,â Dustin said.
âOf course. That definitely means you have to shout at the top of your lungs.â
Mike, Dustin, and Lucas all gave him a glare that screamed, âDuh.â Brats. But then Steve saw the thoughtful look on Eddieâs face. One that spelled bad news.
âYâknow, I couldnât run a campaign for you tiny tots through Hellfire because of theââ he waved a lazy hand at the curtains shutting out the weak autumn light from the backyard, âbut maybe I can now.â He grinned when the boys all started shouting again and Steve let out a groan.
âMaybe if you all shut the hell up,â Steve said, surly and rubbing at his temples. That was when the doorbell started to ring, repeatedly and insistently, and Steve stormed off to go answer the door.
Robin opened it with her key just before heâd gotten there, grinning. âHey, dingus!â Nancy and Jonathan stood behind, the former glaring at Robin and the latter wearing a sheepish smile. Before he could even invite them in, Robin pushed past with an affectionate shoulder bump.
âIâm sorry, I think she heard that racket andââ
Steve finished Nancyâs sentence while pulling her into a one-armed hug. âDecided to be an ass? Yeah. That happens. Iâll get her back by stealing her food at work.â
âI heard that!â she shouted from the kitchen needlessly.
âGood!â
Jonathan chuckled at the exchange and gave an awkward nod when he followed Nancy inside. All they were waiting on now was Hopper and Elevenâs arrival. The teens gathered on the fringes of the kidsâ loose huddle around Eddie, catching up on their day-to-day, which mostly meant commiserating about school and work, until the last knock on the door came and Steve let Hopper and El inside.
El gave Steve a bright, wide smile and raced off to the kids, leaving Hopper shaking his head fondly at her.
âHowâs it going, kid?â he asked, clapping Steve on the shoulder.
âItâs fine. Looking forward to getting this solved though.â
Hopper hummed in agreement, making his way to the group.
âOh, fuck.â Eddieâs eyes went wide when he saw Hopper, quickly looking at Steve. âWhyâs he here!?â
âGood to see you too, Munson,â Hopper droned, âbut for once itâs not because of your shitty life choices.â
Eddie snorted. âSays the guy who buysââ
âShut it.â
Steve watched the two, biting back a smile when Eddie zipped his lips and gave a mocking salute, Hopperâs eyes narrowing at the gesture. Catching his eye, Eddie smirked at Steve, the corner of his mouth pulling down in amusement. He couldnât help it, a smile cracked through Steveâs resolve and he dipped his head to hide it.
Sighing, Hopper began again. âSo, I assume at this point everyoneâs been caught up on the situation?â A round of nods and he grumbled, âThereâs no secrets in this damn group. Fine, makes this easier then.â He jerked his chin at the kids. âYou lot, youâre to stay out of anything that isnât research. Youâve seen enough already.â
Where Will and Lucas looked a little queasy at the memory of the werewolf, Dustin, Mike, and Max started protesting. El merely glanced between them all curiously, but when Mike started to make his defence, she began to nod.
âWe were the ones to find it, we know what to look for!â
âYou know a dead werewolf body when you see it, great job,â Hopper snarked. âThatâs more than you shouldâve ever seen, so youâre benched, got it?â
They groaned.
âIf anyone calls the paper about some weird sightings, Iâll follow up on it and let everyone know. And maybe Jonathan and I can check the archives, on the off-chance that thereâs something there?â Nancy said, earning a nod from Hopper.
âSteve?â He looked up when his name was called. Hopper seemed almost apologetic about what he was going to say next. âYour best move is to do nothing. We canât have you drawing attention to your squatter.â
âHey, I was invited, thank you very much,â Eddie said.
Steve sighed, frowning. He knew it was right, but he hated being put on the sidelines. It also meant he couldnât be out there, helping. âSo no patrols?â
âNope. Sorry, kid.â
He folded his arms and leaned further against the corner heâd claimed. âWhat if something else happens? Other hunter stuff?â
âLeave it to me, alright? Me and the guys can handle it for a while. Hell, maybe weâll even make the Carvers pull their weight for once.â Steve and Hopper both shared a scoff at the idea, though Steve still wasnât confident that those in the know at Hawkins PD could handle much at all.
âI guess that leaves me on Dingus Distraction Duty.â Robin sidled up beside Steve, offering him an open bag of chips pilfered from his own kitchen.
âI think now youâve got two dinguses to distract, if youâre hanging out here,â he said. She and Eddie locked eyes expressionlessly for a moment, then pointed finger-guns at each other, giggling. Why did this suddenly seem like a very bad idea?
âIf anything comes up, like if you find another corpse, youâll call me, right?â Steve asked, a little worried about his fate if Robin and Eddie got along as well as he dreaded they would, and Hop nodded.
âYouâll be the first person I call.â
âWow, Harrington, youâd rather hang out with a dead guy than an undead guy? That hurts.â Eddie put his hands over his heart. âThat hurts right here.â
âThat feels discriminatory,â Robin said. Eddie nodded excitedly.
Steve just hung his head with a sigh.
The meeting wrapped up not long after, with rides arranged and meet-ups for later organised. Robin left with Nancy, Mike, Jonathan, and Will after threatening Steve into hanging out after their shift tomorrow (not that he really needed to be threatened), the other kids getting ferried home by Hopper.
Steve waved them all off and closed the front doors with a relieved sigh. Finally the house was quiet. Steve walked back to the living room, expecting Eddie to have started ransacking his movie collection only to find him still in his spot on the couch, looking paler than usual. His hand was clamped tightly over his mouth, eyes screwed shut and chest rising and falling in very slow, measured breaths. Something about it had the hairs on the back of Steveâs neck standing on end.
âWhoa, dude, you okay?â he asked, stepping closer. Eddie flinched hard.
âJust gimmie a sec.â Eddieâs words, muffled by his palm, were flat and forced.
Steve froze. âSure, yeah, okay.â
Afraid to move, Steve stayed in that spot halfway to Eddie between the couch and the coffee table. Neither of them spoke. All Steve could hear was Eddieâs harsh breathing. After a few minutes his shoulders eased away from his ears, but he still hadnât opened his eyes, or removed his hand.
âCan you, like, open the windows or something? Let some fresh air in?â His throat bobbed.
âYeah.â Steve backed away, then opened the windows, doing his best to keep the blinds and curtains closed against the sun. Without moving closer, he asked, âUh, that better?â
Eddie kept breathing slowly, but the tension around his eyes started to dissipate. He nodded.
âThankââ Eddie cleared his throat. âThanks, man.â
âWanna tell me what that was about?âÂ
It mightâve sounded a little accusatory, though Steve tried to rein that back. But some little animal instinct in him was still waving a whole field of red flags. Eddie looked like heâd been in pain, broken bone kinds of pain, and now that he wasnât so wound up Steve could see that he was shaking.
âBeen a while since Iâve been around so many people. And, uh, also been a while since Iâve had a drink.â
Steve was about to ask what he meant before it clicked. A drink, of blood. Oh shit.
âWhen was the last time you⊠did that?â
âLast week. Itâs been too long. The night you showed up, Chrissy was coming by so we could, yâknow.â
âShit.â
Eddie chuckled hollowly. âYeah, shit.â
âYou can call her, itâs fine if she comes over.â He started to walk to the phone but Eddie shook his head, hand falling away from his mouth. He still hadnât opened his eyes.
âSheâs got cheer practice. And if sheâs seen here? In broad daylight? And before you suggest animals, they can only keep me going for a few hours. Iâve tried it.â
Staring at Eddie, hunched on the couch and looking like a man on deathâs door, Steve weighed their options. Well, the only one he could even consider at the moment. It didnât take him long to do, and he pushed aside all the weird thoughts, surprises, and worries and buried it all under his desire to help and professional curiosity.
âBite me.â
Eddieâs head snapped up. Finally, Steve noted with relief, his eyes were open.

Yandere Huedhaut
Synopsis: Huedhaut is probably the least suspecting yandereâas should be from the smartest man in the Heavens. He plans and he plots, but no one would ever suspect him to be a puppet master, cleverly pulling all the strings.
đ©žYandere Masterlistđ©ž
Female Goldfish! Warnings: Gore, Minor Character Death, manipulation, etc.
A/n: I got suddenly interested in Yandere Huedhaut because of the fact that he'd be so unnoticeably manipulative. And then⊠I went overboard with a murder mystery and I really wanted to add a wild plot twist(one that I wrote, and then forgot about, and then surprised myself with like half a year later.) I definitely went overboard with Yan Hue. đ«Ł Read at your own discretion.Â
Itâs one of my longest one-shots. So Iâll just add a link to the AO3 while Iâm here.Â
âWord Count: 19,954â
It wasn't entirely fair. Was it? To fall hopelessly in love and then be torn apart by fate. It was insulting and even more infuriating to have reminders of that time. To have the love of your life before you but be unable to have her and be unable to do anything about it. To watch her fawn over every other man that wasn't you.
Life just wasn't fair and I only felt that pain from a distance. Huedhaut never explained to me just what we used to be back when I was a goddess. He always seemed pained in my presence yet he always wanted to be around me when I wasn't working and when he wasn't busy with work from Leon or Karno.
After I was officially safe from the dark king and I had thanked Zyglavis for protecting me, things went back to normal between me and the gods. I was happy with how close I was between the Punishments gods and the Wishes gods, particularly Huedhaut whose company I found soothing. Though, I admit I openly fawned over him and continuously hovered around him simply because I was denying my childish crush on the strong and silent Krioff. But if I had to give Huedhaut any sort of label, I'd definitely call him my best friend. He had been looking out for me since he first laid eyes on me that night those six gods showed up in my apartment.
I hummed happily, my quiet melody the only noise in the hall as I carried my pillow and blanket through the godsâ mansion. I could only imagine how at peace Huedhuat must have been without the racket of the other gods.
âHey, goldie!â I turned, catching Teorusâ gaze as he caught up with me, matching my pace. âYou donât usually come by this late in the evening. Whatcha doing?â
Walking side by side with the god of Taurus, I guestimated that he was following me to get to his room. I grinned in excitement as I gushed, âI'm staying over with Hue tonight! We're going to be reading books and stuff. It's going to be really fun.â
Teorus tilted his head, but his smile didn't lessen at seeing how happy I was. âI didn't know you liked that kind of thing. I guess I shouldnât let you keep Hue waiting then if I want to avoid his wrathâŠâ He waved me off as he continued on down the hall to go into his room. âHave fun!â
âWill do! Thanks, Teo!â Mindlessly caught on my conversation with Teorus, I happily slipped into Huedhaut's room, eager for our evening together. It wasnât like I had to bathe, change into night clothes, or anything since I was already wearing my comfortable pajamas. All I had to do was climb into bed and enjoy a relaxing night with my best friend. âHuuuuue!âÂ
âOne minute.â
I nearly dropped my pillow when I realized he was very naked and just getting out of the pool in his room. My face heated up uncomfortably and I quickly averted my gaze, covering my eyes with my hands. My voice came out shakily as I attempted to scold him, âY- You could have told me you were... not wearing clothes! Gah! Seriously!â
Faintly, he whispered, âYour reactions are so adorable... I want to be the only one to see you blush like thatâŠâ A snap echoed and I cautiously brought my gaze up, finding Huedhaut in his normal Department of Wishes clothes. He greeted me with a smile as if nothing had happened since I carelessly walked into his room. âIâm glad you could come.â
âY- Yeah!â I quickly shook myself out of my embarrassing thoughts, trying to actively wipe the memory of his shirtless torso out of my mind. âI was super excited to be able to come spend the night. Usually youâre so busy with work.âÂ
âOf course, Iâm always willing to make time for you.â Smiling tenderly, he gestured to his bed. âGet comfortable. I'll grab a book and join you.â
I kicked off my shoes before eagerly climbing onto the bed. Setting my fluffy pillow on top of those that were already there, I pulled back his blankets, plowing into the soft pile of pillows as I made myself comfortable. Cuddling up with my blanket around me to shield me from the cold room, I asked, âGot any interesting suggestions for me?â
Huedhaut smirked as he joined me in bed, pulling me up close beside him as he reclined against the pillows Iâd fixed. âI was planning on reading to you tonight. Would you like that?â I nodded eagerly, planting myself on his lap, per his invitation, with his arms wrapped around me and his chin resting atop my head. Things seemed to grow quiet as his hands rested on my sides for just a moment too long and he commented quietly, âI could stay with you like this forever.â
âH- Hue?â What was he saying? Geesh. He didn't have to get all cute like that. What was his deal? Making me blush like that. He was almost as bad as the other gods that liked to tease me. Well, in private, Huedhaut was honestly worse than the other gods sometimes. Curse him and his desire to get reactions out of me for every little thing.Â
He nuzzled his nose into my hair as he grabbed the book from beside me. âIâm sorry. I just donât know what to do with you sometimes.â His breathy chuckle blew my hair into my face, but he brushed it away so I could watch as he opened the book in front of us and began to read with me following along. Again, he acted like he did absolutely nothing as we enjoyed a calm night together.
***
I liked Huedhaut and I was sure he was my best friend for more reasons than simply because we were an ideal couple back when I was a Goddess. His company was different from the other gods. He was always so considerate, even when he was joking around. His sarcasm was on the perfect level to make me smile, even when he was clearly saying something offensive. But he was the smartest man in the Heavens for a reason. He always knew what to say and what to do.
But occasionally he was in the Heavens when I had free time on Earth. Such was the case as I was playing games in the living room with Ichthys, Teorus, and Dui. I jumped in alarm at the rate I was losing to Ichthys. âHey! That isnât fair! Iâm a human! You gotta take it easy on me!â
Ichthys grinned, waving his cards around in glee. âYou just made that rule up because youâre losing and donât want to do a truth or dare.â Dui nodded in agreement with an amused smile. That wasnât fair! I was sure Dui was on my sideâŠ
âPfft.â I openly glared at Ichthys, âYou act like me picking a dare from you is an option. Youâd just make me do something to get Zyglavis angry and I donât have a death wish.â
Ichthys slammed his winning card on top of mine with a joyous grin. âI win! Now, time to answer the truuuuuth!â Turning to Teorus he whispered in his ear. Teorus seemed to take a moment to think before whispering back. I glared at them with intense skepticism. Even Dui seemed the slightest bit curious over what they were planning on asking me. Their faces told me it was going to be extremely personal. Ichthys then finally turned back to me, both gods holding malicious grins as Ichthys requested, âTell us who you have a crush on.â
My breath caught in my throat, my eyes briefly flickering to the white haired god that sat only a few feet away on the opposite sofa. Krioff was doing his work but he wasnât deaf. Immediately, I was left glaring at Ichthys. âYou can't be serious! What are you, five?â It might not have been that bad if the source of our conversation werenât nearby. Sure, he seemed like he wasn't listening, but I knew he heard every single thing that was going on between us. âAbsolutely not! Geez!â
âThat isn't how you play the game!â Ichthys stuck his tongue out teasingly. He would get me to say it before this round was over.
âYou donât have to be embarrassed,â Teorus reassured with his princely smile. âYou can tell us if itâs me. I donât mind if you love me as much as I love you.â
âWhy would she have a crush on you?â Ichthys turned to narrow his eyes on Teorus. âShe likes me. She asked me to play this game first.â Turning his attention back to me, he asked, âAre you embarrassed that I'm your crush?â
âThat- That isn't itâŠâ I looked away from them, my cheeks feeling uncomfortably hot. I had no doubt Krioff was listening to this whole conversation from where he was sitting and the minute someone mentioned his name he would be onto us. He mightâve been a quiet god, but he was probably just as interested in my answer as any of the other gods. I shut my eyes, but I knew they wouldnât let me get away with being quiet. The last thing I wanted was to refuse to play by the rules and face their âpunishmentâ.
I muttered Krioffâs name quietly as I attempted to avoid getting utterly embarrassed. The three gods only leaned in closer to try and discern my answer. Dui tilted his head and pointed out, âYou were so quiet we couldnât hear you.â Almost groaning to myself, I tugged Dui closer and whispered the name in his ear. His eyes widened in realization. âKri- mmph!â
I jumped forward and shoved my hands over his mouth in a panic, âHey! Shut up! Do you want the whole mansion to know?!âÂ
âThat isnât fair,â Teorus whined, crossing his arms. âWe still donât know who it is!â
But our racket was apparently quite distracting, for Krioff finally looked away from his work to address us, âDo you need help over there?â
I shook my head furiously, my cheeks still quite hot with embarrassment. âNo! Nope! Not at all!â Taking a glance at the two gods who were passing through the room, I shot to my feet as I recognized Huedhaut and Karno. My saviour! âAnyway, Iâve gotta go! Iâll get you back some other time, Ikky!â Making a run for it, I caught up with the two wishes gods that were separating further down the hall. âHUUUUE!â
He turned with wide eyes only to have me practically tackle him. Luckily he was balanced enough to catch me in his arms without collapsing to the floor. âWhat on Earth happened?â
Still feeling embarrassed, I pressed my face into his jacket. The last thing I needed was for him to start teasing me too. âYou have no idea how badly you just saved me from an embarrassing situation.â I looked up at him with pleading eyes. âWhere are you going? Can I go with you? I need to... get away from Gods.â
Almost as though reading my mind, he smiled in amusement before ruffling my hair with a laugh. âYou fell for their trap again and they were teasing you? If only you didnât give us so many reasons to fluster you.âÂ
âEt tu, Huedhaut?â I pouted indignantly. âThatâs not fair. You canât make fun of me too! Iâll have no one else to turn to. My very best friend betrayed me.â I whined into his shirt. âOoooooh, the agony of betrayal. Iâm hurt! Really. The pain is too much for me to take. I canât go on like this. Tis the end!â
âYouâre a very dramatic ex-goddess.â
Pausing from my over-dramatic show, I frowned up at him. âYouâre a very mean God.â Still, he didnât lose his smile as he lifted a questioning eyebrow. âHuuuuue, stop smiling like that, you traitor.â
â(Naaaaameeee)!â
I panicked at hearing Teorus calling my name and I paled. Dui probably fed their curiosity and now they wanted to find me. If I didnât get out of sight soon then I was a goner! Huedhaut laughed at my tortured expression and teased, âA traitor would let you into his room, would he?â
My gaze shot back to Huedhaut and I begged, âPlease, please, pleeeease, hide me! I take it back! Youâre a really nice god! Pretty please? Bestie? Promise Iâll pay you back! Hue?â
âFine.â He purposely messed up my hair and snapped his fingers, transporting us to his room. âYou can pay me back now.â He leaned closer to me and I backed away with heated cheeks at how sudden the action was. âYou really do make the cutest expressions. I want you to tell me what youâre so desperate to hide from.â
I sighed, avoiding his searching eyes as I looked around at his many books, desperate to avoid the question. With his persistent gaze, I groaned. Why did he have to demand answers out of me when I only just escaped one cruel fate? âFiiiiine. Ichthys started it. We were playing a game and he asked me who I had a crush on and so I told Dui and then you showed up and... Iâm really sure he told Ikky and Teo.â I crossed my arms and looked away from him with my blush that was quite obvious to Huedhaut. âNow Iâm all embarrassed and donât want to see them. Theyâd probably make me do something embarrassing in front of him. I couldnât even imagine. Ichthys might even tell him!â I rubbed my face, completely stressing out over that last possibility. What would I do if Krioff came to me later? Iâd feel really stupid! I mean, I already knew he wouldnât like me back before I even told Dui his name!
âItâs only fair if you tell me who it is, isnât it?â I glared at Huedhaut, but he didn't seem to mean any harm in asking. He was my best friend after all. Aside from teasing me, he only ever had good intentions. âI see that look on your face. You want to tell me, donât you? You already told the three troublemakers. Do you have such little faith in me?â What really was the harm in telling him?
âDonât laugh... This is super embarrassing.â Not that Krioff was embarrassing⊠It was simply embarrassing to have a crush on someone who had no chance of liking you back. Taking a deep breath, I shut my eyes. It was just one name. How hard could it be to say one name? As much as he liked to tease me, I knew Huedhaut was a much better person than that. So, gathering up my strength, I admitted, âI like KrioffâŠâ
Huedhautâs eyes widened. âKrioff?â This was the same reaction Dui had. Why were they so surprised? I hoped they didn't expect me to have a crush on Zyglavis or something! âYouâre talking about the God of Aries?â I nodded my head woefully. âHe hardly ever speaks to you. How could you like him more than me?â
His voice turned... cold for a moment. My eyes snapped open at his tone and I noticed he was glaring down at me. What was suddenly on his mind? âHue?â
Saying his name seemed to have snapped him out of his thoughts. He instantly pulled away, realizing he was gripping my shoulders much too tightly for comfort. âSorry. I was just surprised.â His cold glare was replaced with an affectionate smile as he led me to his bed and sat me down. Though, I had an uneasy feeling in my gut. âKrioff, huh? I never would have imagined you would have an eye for him. Heâs such an entirely solitary god. Why donât you tell me more?â
âM- More?â After that reaction of his, was he sure he wanted to hear more? But after a strict nod from him, I knew I wasnât going to be leaving until I opened my heart to him. It wasnât like he was going to go tell Krioff or anything. He never spilled my secrets before. I could trust Huedhaut. âHeâs just attractive in his own way. He cares about people in such a unique way. Despite how hard his past was with his family, heâs so strong. He might not say much, but heâs very sweet and I love how adorable he gets when I bring him ice cream. I just couldnât possibly put into words how amazing he is.â I sighed, leaning back on the bed.Â
Huedhaut watched me quietly for a moment before asking, âWhat do you think Krioff would feel about this?â
âKrioff?â I hesitated, thinking about it. âHe's a god... so I could never see us together. But... he's always had such a tough time with people. I don't think heâd like me back. Heâs probably just a thought that I entertain myself with because I admire his story.â
Passing his cool hand through my hair, Huedhaut asked quietly, âHave you ever told him any of this?â
I gnawed on my bottom lip, shrugging slightly as I admitted, âI accidentally told him he was cute once and he looked very surprised.â I covered my face with my hands trying to erase the mortifying memory. âI couldnât face him straight for like a week after that.â I groaned, looking up at my best friend with a pathetic expression on my face. âWhat do you gods do? I mean, do you guys even have solid relationships like that? Some of the gods make it sound like committing to one person isnât something a God could be interested in.â
Huedhaut furrowed his eyebrows before explaining to the best of his ability, âItâs true some gods think that way. However, some of us do prefer to commit to another. For instance, the only woman Iâve ever considered being attached to is the love of my life. I couldnât tell you what kind of God Krioff is, but we do understand loyalty and values.â
I perked up at that and immediately turned to Huedhaut. âYou love someone too?â He never spoke of anyone else. He always seemed so detached from everyone he didnât need to bother himself with.
A rueful smile crossed his face as he looked up at the skylight. âI do.â It was quiet for a few minutes between us before he spoke again, âSheâs beautiful, both body and soul.â As though hesitating to continue, it took a moment for him to finish, âHer name was Clotho.â
I hummed in curiosity. Did he mention her before? âGee⊠She sounds familiar. Have you ever spoken about her before?â
Huedhaut shook his head, and before I could ask any further questions, he explained, â(Name)... you were Clotho.â
My eyes widened at the revelation and I quickly sat up to face him. Did that mean... he loved... me? âB- But, Hue, I-â
âI know.â He stopped me short, pulling my hands into his. âYou donât love me. I donât mind. But, I still want you to know that no matter what happens to you, Iâll always be here for you. It doesnât matter what any of the other gods say or do, Iâll be here to take care of you. Just as I always have been. Itâs been a miracle to simply have you by my side again after all these years.â
With tears filling my eyes at his affectionate speech, I wrapped my arms around his neck. âHue, youâre the best⊠I promise I wonât go anywhere again!â Holding him tight, I smiled as he wrapped his arms around me in return. âYouâre my favorite god!âÂ
But being my favorite would never truly be enough for him. No. The God of Aquarius wanted more. He needed more. He couldnât stand these other gods getting all of my time and attention. I should be with Huedhaut every second I wasnât working. But what was worse was that they had the nerve to tease me, to talk about who I loved with me. He couldnât stand that they got to see my blushing face that should belong solely to him.Â
So, though he had hoped it wouldnât come to this, he would set his plan into motion.Â
Of course, I had no chance with Krioff. It wouldnât take a genius to figure out that Krioff simply wasnât interested in having a relationship. So, Huedhaut would focus his time and energy on the other gods that were in the picture. Those children were keeping me from him. They were distracting me from realizing that Huedhaut was the man for me. Huedhaut was the one I needed to be seeking love from, not Krioff or any other god.Â
Namely, he needed to take care of the three trouble makers of the two departments: Ichthys, Dui, and Teorus. Yes, Teorus was in the same Department as Huedhaut, but that didnât matter. Nothing mattered until they were out of the picture. Any threat to Huedhautâs perfect plans just had to be dealt with.Â
It annoyed him that he couldnât just find a way to kill them. That would be the easiest and the best way to go, resulting in me completely and entirely relying on Huedhaut. But the 12 Gods of the Zodiac were necessary for balance in the Heavens. He couldnât just get rid of them like that. His plans had to be more delicately constructed.
There were better ways of going about this and ensuring I end up in his arms, after all. Reasonably, he was the smartest god in the Heavens.

âDuuuuiiii! I made a pie and itâs your favorite.â I grinned widely, knocking on Duiâs door. He was such a big help keeping Ichthys and Teorus from spilling my secret to Krioff. I had to pay him back with his favorite food. âHey, Dui! Itâs me, (Name)!â
âOh, (Name), what are you doing here?â I turned and found Dui walking toward me, just returning from a Punishments job. But he paused and his eyes lit up as his gaze found the tray I was holding. âIs that what I think it is?â
I nodded and held it up to him so he could get the full glory of what I created. âCherry pie! Just the thing to repay you for keeping Ikky and Teo silent. I was wondering if you wanted to have some on the roof with me? Itâs a really nice day outside and I wanted to get some sun before the clouds took over. Apparently, itâs supposed to rain later.â
âOf course. We should go before the other two come looking for you.â Duiâs smile was really infectious. Sometimes it was nice to just hang out with him on a peaceful day.Â
Ichthys was a bit too playful and Teorus was a little too touchy-feely. But just me and Dui like that? We werenât such a bad combo. I felt relaxed and happy while he was eagerly eating the pie he loved so much. âSo, Dui, howâs work been for you since your mark of sin has been gone?â
âItâs been good, thanks to your help.â He stuffed his cheeks once again before he gave a more detailed reply, âI mean, thereâs been a few bumps in the road. Some humans can be pretty stubborn and Shadow Duiâs been trying to interfere where heâs not supposed to. But things are great. Iâm getting more done without having a restraint on my powers.â
âThatâs good!â I shifted in my seat to take a better look at him. Just looking, I wouldnât be able to tell Shadow was causing any trouble at all. âI knew I only saw a portion of what you guys could do when I was lending my powers so I thought Iâd go ahead and ask. I mean, you guys can go freely between Earth and the Heavens now. It sounds like a lotâs happening. I hope Shadow hasnât been that much trouble for you? He was alright the last time I saw him. You apologized like crazy after he scared my friend from school, but Shadow was okay.â
âItâs not that bad. We enjoy visiting you, (Name).â I was glad he thought so because I really enjoyed hanging out with all of them too. But then he spoke in a sad tone, in a topic that caught me completely off guard. âIâm sorry about our reactions to Krioff. Itâs just... I was pretty surprised. Everyone in the Heavens is so afraid of Krioff and then you, a human, falling in love with him⊠It surprised me. But, Iâm happy. Even if Krioff is too afraid to accept you, Iâm at least glad he has someone that loves him.â
âToo afraid?â I mean, I expected him to be insecure due to his past but... afraid? He always seemed so calm and collected. I couldnât help but wonder how much he still carried on his shoulders.
Dui nodded to my quiet question. âHeâs been through a lot. Iâm sure youâve heard. I think he avoids getting close to people because heâs afraid heâll hurt them. I know he wouldnât want to hurt you. We all care about you a lot. None of us would want to see you hurt.â
It was so hard to keep my heart from beating so horribly fast when he held my hand and looked into my eyes like that. He was just reassuring me, but if it were coming from anyone other than the kind-hearted Dui I mightâve mistaken it for an intimate gesture.Â
I flinched at hearing someone clear their throat behind us and I awkwardly looked at the ground the minute we made eye contact. Though, I still tried to greet the newcomer to the roof, âAh, Hue. Hey. You don't come up here often.â
âI figured itâs where you'd be. Itâs about to rain and Iâd hate for you to get sick.â Looking back at him, he was as composed as ever, that small smirk on his face telling everyone around him that he knew better. What was on his mind, I didnât know, but he looked awfully happy about something.Â
I returned a shy smile before I grabbed the pie from the table and asked, âDo you want this in your room, Dui?â All it took was a nod and I was following him off of the balcony followed by Huedhaut who closed the doors behind us. âThanks for coming get us. Iâm glad we didnât get caught up in the rain.â
He nodded and, before leaving, offered, âIf you need anything, Iâll be granting wishes with Karno.â
I waved as he left the hall and I quickly bolted past Dui with a challenging smirk. âIâll race you! No powers! Last one there has to deal with Ichthysâ next prank!â
âNo fair! You didnât warn me!â
I laughed as he tried to catch up without using his God abilities and I swung open his door and ran in before he could get the better of me. âI made it fir- WAH!â Tripping over a soft surface, I instantly crashed to the floor with a groan. At first, I was under the impression I was covered in cherry sauce from the cherry pie, but as I sat up on my knees my eyes widened in fright and I froze. I hadn't landed in cherry sauce at all⊠I landed in blood.
â(Name), are you okay?! I heard- Oh my godâŠâ Dui stopped talking as his eyes turned wide as saucers.
I wasn't sure what to do or how to react with Dui standing behind me. Did Shadow Dui do this? My best human friend was dead, killed in the most graphic way possible. Their organs weren't even inside them anymoreâwere those their organs? There had to be a logical explanation but my mind wasn't working right. All I could ask myself was if I was going to be next. Shadow Dui killed his best friend before. Why would I be any different?
âWhat the hellâŠâ I froze fearfully as I noted the gruff change from Dui to Shadow Dui. âShit⊠goldfish-â
âDonât,â I interrupted him, trying to keep him from approaching. My mind still hadnât caught up with me yet. Was this really happening? Please, let it be a horrible prank from Ichthys.Â
âHey, I didnât-â
âDonât touch me!â I screamed, pulling away from his touch. Anxiously, I scrambled to escape him, only able to go as far as the other side of the room. âDonât come near meâŠâ The last thing I needed was for him to finish what he started. âWhyâŠ?!â My manic state was enough to make him stop approaching, though I was trapped, the door being blocked by him. What did Shadow do? My voice was too caught up in my throat to scream, but I need help. I needed somebody, anybody to come and help me, to bring my best friend back from the cold world of death.Â
âWhat the hell?!â Shadow Dui hissed, resuming his pacing. His frantic state only served to make me more terrified. A frantic murderer was a horrifying murderer. âThis is your shitty little Earth friend! I knew it!â He kicked his chair across his room, making me flinch back into the wall. âI knew a stupid little human would only bring Dui more trouble! If Iâd have just killed you back then then Dui wouldnât get blamed for murder again! I didnât kill this damn human!âÂ
I wish Shadow wasn't standing between me and the door. I wanted nothing more than to run out and find Huedhaut. Didnât any of the other gods know what was going on here?Â
The minute Shadow approached me, a cry left my lips, âH- HELP!â It wasnât long before tears were streaming down my cheeks and I was hiding my face behind my arms. Shadow Dui killed my human friend. âHUE!â I needed somebody, anybody to come and help me, to bring my best friend back from the cold world of death.Â
âWhat the hell are you-â The voice that was speaking from the hall suddenly paused. Scorpio was glaring at Shadow Dui from the doorway. The way Shadow was standing over me didnât paint a pretty picture. âDamn it!â
With my eyes screwed shut, I could only hear the loud shuffling of a fight, but after that I didnât hear anything as if I were alone in the room. But, alone or not, I was too frightened to move from where I sat. It was only several minutes later when Zyglavis asked, âWhere is (Name) (Surname)?â
There was silence for a moment and I shuffled closer to the corner I had isolated myself to. I made sure I was far enough away from the body. I was thoroughly out of sight in the space between the bed and the wall and I wasnât willing to move.
It was hard to control the shaking that came with my overflowing tears, but the sound of approaching footsteps only made it feel that much worse. âWoman,â Scorpio called, having found my hiding place. â(Name)!â
â(Name) (Surname)." I sniffled, looking up at the familiar voices. Zyglavis was kneeling in front of me, Scorpio was a short distance behind him, his attention split between me and the⊠Well, Scorpio had already taken care of the scene. "Are you hurt?" Zyglavisâ question brought my attention back to him. I shook my head slowly and he reached out to reassuringly pat my head. âYouâll be okay.â
â(Name)! (Name)!â My head shot up at the voice of Huedhaut. He pushed past Partheno to get into Dui's room. He didn't falter at seeing the blood. He only paused at seeing blood on me. âAre you hurt? You're covered in blood. Come here.â He fell to his knees beside Zyglavis and pulled me into his arms. â(Name)...â
âHueâŠâ I whimpered his name softly, burrowing myself into him. Why didnât he come sooner to save me? Why didnât he stop Shadow Dui from killing my best human friend? Didnât any of them know that Shadow Dui did this? Did Dui even know before just a moment ago?Â
Zyglavis looked at Huedhaut with a serious expression, his brows furrowed. âTake her somewhere quiet. The Department of Punishments will deal with this.â
Huedhaut wasted no time snapping his fingers, transporting us to his room. Still, I didnât want to release him as he tried to pull away. He smiled gently as he tried to reassure me, âThat probably took a toll on you. I promise I wonât leave your side. Iâll never let anyone hurt you. Will you let me bathe you? I imagine youâll feel better being clean.â I couldnât find the energy in me to smile back at him, but I nodded in response. Anything was better than how filthy I felt standing there. âYouâd be okay if we used the bath in the mansion, right?â I nodded again, not really thinking about his question.
He kept a close eye on me as he walked me down the halls and to the bath. Usually, it was a shared space, but he locked the door to give me as much privacy as I needed. Thatâs what it would look like, anyway. He just didnât want anyone else to see my precious body. That sight was purely for him and him alone. But he wouldnât invade my privacy just yet. He would wait until I loved him in return. It might take time, but he would have patience.
He was gentle and quiet as he helped me into the bath, rinsing my hair with the warm water as he made sure not an inch of me was unclean after my experience. But he paused as he heard a small whimper from me. Was I going to say something? Evidently, the answer was yes as my broken voice reached his ears, âWhy... Why would he do that to me? Was he that upset?â
I turned my head to look up at Huedhaut with watery eyes. I couldnât identify the emotion on his face but he almost looked guilty.Â
He did feel guilty, in fact. He did this to me, but it was for a greater purpose. I was in pain for the time being, but he knew it was only a matter of time before I fell into his arms. As soon as I was his, he would end my suffering. He wouldnât have to hurt me if I would just surrender myself to him completely. But he wasnât going to tell me that straight out. Eventually, I was going to figure out that Huedhaut held all the answers to my problems. If only Iâd realize it sooner, he wouldnât have to keep torturing me like this.
But, hiding his true nature, he caressed my cheek, answering me softly, âThe other gods are going to get answers for you. Please, donât worry. Iâm here with you. Duiâs in the Heavenâs and he isnât going to be allowed to return to Earth. I am truly sorry about your friend. That must have been horrible to see. I know it was hard for me to watch Clotho sacrifice her life for Earth. To have someone you care about die... itâs not a good feeling.â
A few remaining tears fell from my eyes as I apologized, âIâm sorry, Hue... I didnât realize what you went through. It- It just hurts so much, but then I can't even imagine that you took your own stars after-â I was feeling the intense loss of someone close to me, but combined with sympathy for what Huedhaut must have felt, my feelings were just too fragile.
He was surprised as I began to cry again at his words. He was using his sad past to emotionally manipulate me into feeling empathy for him, but it was working better than he anticipated. I didnât even seem to mind that he held me so much closer despite being naked in the bath. After making me feel guilty about my crumbling emotions, he spoke, âPlease, donât apologize. No one was there to comfort me after you left. But Iâm here for you now. Iâll always be here. Now, are you sure you want to be holding me like that while youâre naked? Iâm trying to keep you modest but you're making it difficult.â
I was in such distress that I hadnât even realized what I was doing. It was like Huedhaut just lowered my defenses. Sinking back into the water, I looked away from him with a furious blush over my wet cheeks. âIâm sorry... I just... I donât know how to handle what Iâm feeling.â
Huedhaut nodded his head, trying to comfort me though I turned away from him. âI told you you donât need to apologize. I know youâre not well right now. Iâm just here to help you.â Of course I wasnât well. Huedhaut was making sure of that. But he was going to do his best to make me smile while I was with him. I didnât have to fear the bad things with him. âWhy donât we get you out of the bath? I can take you back to my room for the night and I can read you a pleasant book.â He was so thoughtful. Bringing tragedy into my life and then getting rid of it with his kind words and caring actions. I was so fortunate to have a god like himâŠ
***
It was tough leaving the mansion without Huedhaut after thatâwhich I hadn't left Huedhautâs side since the incident. But, eventually, I had to go back to work, and I swear returning to work was the worst. There was no best friend there to make me smile while we joked and waited for our break. The gods had also fixed it to where everyone thought they had died of natural causes, so I had the sympathy of my coworkers. But it didnât hurt any less to be so alone.
Over the days, Huedhaut tried to help the best he could and his efforts were appreciated. I smiled more with each book he read to me. He even sent me off to work with a packed lunch so I wouldnât have to suffer that horribly my frist day back. The other gods also tried to cheer me up of course, especially Teorus and Ichthys. I mean... it was their friend Dui who killed my best friend. It was revealed that Shadow Dui killed them out of jealousy; I had a best friend to brag about but he didn't. Though, it was sort of strange that Shadow would target a petty human best friend over Huedhaut, my actual god best friend. Regardless, Dui was stuck doing time in the Heavens, forever banned from returning to Earth with Shadow Dui.
One day, as I was walking into my workplace, I paused to look at a package that was sitting outside. I knelt down and read that it was from Teorus and Ichthys, they hoped it would give me a smile. Attempting a small smile, I picked up the box and brought it in with me, leaving it in the break room for my hour lunch break that I would get. Surely I could use whatever laugh those two came up with by then. It was always my break hour that I would feel at my loneliest and lowest.
Time flew and I was set off doing different tasks. My mind was lost in everything that had happened the past few days. âI had no idea he was so jealous... But... to... do something like... thatâŠâ I squeezed my eyes shut, nearly tripping over the broom in my hands. "Ah- damn it..." But my eyes widened in fright as the fire alarms suddenly went off. Perfect. Just perfect. This was the last thing I needed.Â
I was in the storage room, but I knew the way to the exit from there. Dropping the broom, I made a dash for the exit, only to jump back at the flames that were licking the outside of the door. âAH!â I couldnât close the door back, so I backed away from the tall flames with wide eyes. They were so huge. How could they get so big so fast? The alarm only just went off.
Part of me was reminded of Krioffâs flames. But his flames werenât so out of control! Still, there was nowhere to run as I fled to the back of the room to give myself time to get help. One of the gods would hear me if I called them, I was sure. âPlease, please, please,â I coughed, the smoke steadily filling the room. I sat on the floor, trying to breathe slowly. âI wish there was a way out.â I coughed harder. Shelves began to fall as flames ate at their legs. âHELP!â I choked on my wishes and I covered my face, trying to avoid the ash and soot that was quickly spreading the flames. âP- Please... get me out of here!âÂ
The fire was moving so fast as it devoured everything it touched. I wondered if my other coworkers made it out. I wondered... if I was going to make it out. I was going to die. It was my turn.Â
I closed my eyes tightly, but I heard a voice calling me from within the fire. â(NAME)!â Who the hell was searching for me in a mad fire like that? The smoke was hurting my lungs to the point where I almost couldnât breathe. Was that someone from the fire department looking for me? â(Name)! Answer me!â No. That voice sounded familiar. Did he come to save me?Â
I coughed the minute I tried to call out to him, but I managed to wheeze his name, âHue!â I screamed as something collapsed beside me, kicking up ashes.Â
I quickly covered my eyes to prevent any ash from getting in my face, but I felt a large form wrap around me and instantly I knew Iâd be safe from the feel of his arms. â(Name)...â A blinding light took my vision for a moment; the clean air was almost too sudden and I found myself choking on it. âItâs okay. Just take in deep breaths for me.â Was he kidding? I had inhaled too much smoke to take even little breaths without feeling overwhelmed. But he seemed to know that as he tried to calm me, âI know, I know, itâs hard. Just trust me. The air in the mansion will clear your lungs, I just need you to take deep breaths for me.â I tried my best to follow his directions without coughing my lungs out. But slowly and surely, his advice proved fruitful.Â
I was also surprised that he took me into the living room of the mansion. The Wishes gods were staring at me with wide eyes, obviously hoping for my quick recovery. Huedhaut was most concerned, however, as he was the one who found me suffering in the heat of the fire. But Leon wasnât looking at me. He was the only god openly glaring at Teorus as he growled, âThat prank that you and the Punishmentsâ problem child came up with almost got several goldfish killed.â
âI- Iâm really sorry... It wasnât supposed to-â
âTeorus,â Leon interrupted the innocent god, his tone fierce and not to be defied, âGo back to the Heavens. Weâll deal with you both later, but you and that fish are no longer permitted to work on Earth. Your actions put many goldfish lives in danger, you put (Name) in danger.â
Karno sighed, but he had to nod in agreement. âThis is the last thing she needed after her best friendâŠâ He paused, not wanting to elaborate in front of me. âIâll go talk with Zyglavis. Teorus, come with me.â
Before he could get pulled away by Karno, Teorus tried to apologize to me with big, sad eyes. âIâm so sorry, (Name)... We really didnât mean to do that to youâŠâ
But it was too late to apologize. I almost diedâor I could have gotten seriously hurt. Huedhuat was the only reason I was still alive and well. I didnât look at Teorus as he was taken out of the room.
Tauxolouve noticed that I was keeping my gaze far from Teorus and he asked, âHow are you feeling now?â
It took me a moment to understand his question, but I realized that I was breathing a lot easier thanks to Huedhaut coaching me to breathe deeper breaths and get all the smoke out of my lungs. I nodded my head in a gesture saying that I at least wasnât going to die or pass out on them. Huedhaut snapped his fingers and all the soot that covered me and the floor I landed on was gone. â(Name),â he asked quietly, âWould you like me to take you home?â
As much as home sounded like a comfort... I wasnât sure I wanted that. I certainly didnât want to be alone after everything I was put through. Karno wasnât wrong about that side comment. I just lost my best friend and I almost died soon after. Looking at Huedhaut, I asked shyly, âHue... do you think you could stay with me for a while? Like you did last time?â
He smiled genuinely as ever. âOf course.â He took my hand and pulled me to him, wrapping his arms around me as he snapped his fingers, taking us to my apartment.Â
It was quiet between us. Though he was kind enough to offer to give me another bath for the time being and I had to admit I loved the way his fingers combed through my hair as he washed it. It was a sense of peace I couldnât find with anyone but Huedhaut.
Huedhaut smiled to himself as he lathered shampoo in my hair. He got rid of the three idiots quite simply and he had no doubt that the fire shook me to my core, thoroughly breaking my crush on Krioff. Everything worked out perfectly and here I was, relying on him. Still, there was something else he wasnât satisfied with. Sure, I was relying on him. But he wanted more than that. He wanted me to love him. Why couldnât I just say the words he wanted to hear? Was I still holding onto something? Did I just need time to adjust after everything that happened? No, he had been patiently waiting. He sent disaster after disaster toward me and I leaned on him, yes. But it wasnât enough. He wanted me to do more than lean on him. He wanted to have me. How much longer would he have to wait?
Certain he would have to start planning the next tragedy of my life, he was surprised when I finally spoke up and asked him quietly, âHue... What am I going to do? That place was my life. I donât have parents to go back to and my best friend is gone... Iâm not going to have enough money to pay rent and Iâm going to be homeless.â With each word, it was like my world was shattering to bits and I had no control over any of it. That was why I couldn't stop the tears from falling. I thought I was done crying, but I just couldnât help it as my world crashed down around me. Huedhuat was the only one holding me up. He was the only one keeping me from succumbing to my sorrows.Â
Drying his hands, he began to gently wipe away the tears that fell. This was exactly how he wanted me. He wanted me at his mercy. My life was in his hands and I would listen to his every word. âYou wonât be alone, (Name). You can stay with me forever. Iâll love you. Iâll keep you safe. Iâll take care of you. Will you let me?â He knew I had to say yes. There were no other options for me to choose from, just as he had planned. I had no one but him. Sure, the other gods were willing to help, but no one was as desperate as he was. He would be the only one to love me truly. He didnât care who he had to take out of the picture. He didnât care how many times he had to make me cry, heâd always be the one to dry my tears in the end.
Despite being naked in the tub, I felt like none of that mattered in my moment alone with Huedhaut. This God was offering to take care of me. He was offering me a place with him. I took his hand that gently caressed my cheek and held it tight. âP- Please, take care of me, Huedhaut. I want to stay with you. I-â I paused, looked away from him shyly. It took a while, but he was the only one there for me. I couldnât believe it took these tragic events to show me who I should have really fallen in love with. He was the only one to actually make me happy after the disasters Iâd been through lately. I knew he loved me and I didnât want to abuse that knowledge, but maybe that was why I kept denying my own feelings. Finally, I decided to tell him what he'd been waiting to hear all along, âI love you, HueâŠâ
Huedhautâs eyes widened slightly, not expecting the declaration. Not that he was displeased. If I loved him then that would make things easier. He wouldnât have to make me sad anymore. I loved him. âI love you too, (Name).â He beamed, tilting his head. âThereâs nothing I wouldnât do for you. Iâm never going to let you go again. Iâm honestly so happy. I want to make you the happiest goddess.â He took a deep breath to calm himself; it would do no good to startle me if he got too excited. âBefore I get carried away, I should let you get some rest. I know you had a very tiring day and I donât want to rush you into this relationship with me. Iâll take things as slowly as you need.â Carrying me out of the tub to dry and dress me, he held me close the entire time, proving his love for me by making sure I was comfortable and not touching me any differently than before I declared my feelings. He was true to his word in taking things slow.
I trusted him wholeheartedly. This was perfect. His carefully made plans werenât for nothing as he had me lovingly dozing in his arms without a clue to the horribly violent thoughts that swirled through his mind. Of course, heâd never lay a hand on his one true love, knowing full well Iâd hate him and go to some other God for safety and comfort. He would never become the bad guy in my eyes. He was all I had left, after all. Huedhaut would do anything and everything to keep me with him. He wasnât the smartest god in the Heavenâs for nothing. Even if I did find out what he had been doing, there was nothing I could do, was there? But Huedhaut was certain he wouldnât have to worry about that. I was as ignorant as all the others, which was just how Huedhaut wanted it. Iâd be his forever, and considering his perfect plans for the two of us, he would never have to worry about me leaving.
***
It was a few weeks later when I was found sitting in the garden, staring intently at a flower as if it had all the answers in the world for me. Huedhaut couldnât help but smirk in amusement as he called my attention to him with a single sentence. âThat flower must be something special to have you so enraptured.â
âFlower?â I hummed in confusion, glancing up at him. When did he join me outside? Finding the mansion was getting too stuffy, I decided to bring a blanket outside and enjoy the windy shifting of the seasons. But what was Huedhaut suddenly talking about a flower for? Had I been looking at one without realizing? Shaking my head, I unsmoothly changed the subject. âI was only thinking. Iâve been a little worried lately.â
âWorried?â His eyes were trained on me for any sign of distress as he moved closer, sitting beside me on the blanket. âWhy didnât you tell me?â I glanced up to see him reach toward me, his fingers gently passing through my hair. It was his usual way of trying to soothe my anxieties and I couldnât say it didnât work as I leaned into his touch. âIâll fix anything thatâs troubling you.â
âI didnât want to make you worried too,â I excused, though, that wasnât entirely the truth. I stared down at the blade of grass that I had been picking between my fingers. âI wasnât sure if I really wanted to bring it up or⊠how I really wanted to ask. But youâve been making trips to the Heavens, so I was wondering if you knew how Teorus and Ichthys were doing. I⊠also wondered how Dui was doing with, um⊠ShadowâŠâ
His face grew deathly serious, his hand pausing as he started, âIf any of them have been bothering you-â
âNo, no. Thatâs not it.â I swiftly saved the three of them from Huedhautâs wrath. Grabbing his still hand, I tried to reassure him. âThey havenât been trying to talk to me or anything.â It wasnât that Huedhaut was a violent godâhe was very kindâbut I knew how scary he could be to others when he lost his patience. âI got over the accident from last monthâjust maybe not the Dui one⊠But I was just wondering if they were okay. I havenât heard anything since they were all banned from visiting Earth.â
Studying Huedhautâs expression didnât tell me muchâhe was always so stoic when addressing topics about the other gods. Then again, Huedhaut wasnât one for idle nonsense like most of the other gods liked to participate in. The way he caressed my fingers in return told me he still had quite a ways to go before he completely lost patience with them. I was glad I could be there to ease Huedhautâs stress in the same way he was always there to comfort me.
I was releived when he finally decided to indulge my curiosity. âTheyâve been monitoring Dui in the Department of Punishments. Heâs on, what you would call, house arrest. Theyâre being maticulous with ensuring further incidents donât occur. As for the other two, Iâm not sure how Zyglavis has been handling Ichthysâ punishment, but Teorus is handling so much work that Iâm not sure heâll be finished until next winter.â
âI get that,â I muttered, a sigh escaping my lips as I stared aimlessly at the grass. âWhat they did was dangerous⊠among other things. But, Hue, thatâs not what Iâm asking. I want to know how theyâre really doing. Are they happy, are they sad, are they lonely? Do they still get to see each other? It feels like my favorite boy band broke up or something.â
The concept of a boy band was lost on Huedhaut, but the thought of those three being my favorite anything made Huedhaut grimace. Still, he wouldnât just ignore me; heâd never do that. Heâd simply do something to try and get my attention off of those three. They were truly an annoyance even when they werenât around. His best option was to reassure and redirect. âTheyâre fine. Itâs not like being punished has ever stopped the punishmentsâ problem child from his mischievous nature. Teorus is ever obsessed with his milk and still attracting women left and right. Personally, I believe Dui only reverted to his behavior similar to when he first killed that god friend of his⊠All is proceeding normally in the Heavens.â
It sounded fairly normal for themâwell, as normal as they were before their sins were erased.Â
âThenâŠâ I hesitated. I wanted to see them for myself to check on how they were doing, but I wasnât entirely sure it was the best decision. âWhat do you think I should do? I want to see them again. I want to see with my own two eyes how theyâre doing. Itâs not that I donât trust you. I just⊠want to see that theyâre okay, you know?â
âI donât think so,â he answered immediately, leaving me at a loss for words at how fast his answer came out. It was like he didnât even give it any thought. But before I could ask him about it, he explained, âI don't do this with the intention of hurting you, I have your best interest at heart. I don't personally believe this will help you. Rather⊠If you saw Dui, I don't believe you would handle it well. It was fairly traumatic what he put you through.â
âThat's trueâŠâ I hesitantly agreed. But the Heavens was a pretty big place, as far as I was aware. What were the chances of me actually running into Dui when Huedhaut just said he was on house arrest?Â
âDon't look so disappointed,â he encouraged, offering me a smile that was enough to settle any doubts in my heart. âOnce I'm certain that you're feeling better, then I'll take you to the Heavens to see them.âÂ
âPromise?â
âPromise.âÂ
Scooting over on the blanket, I leaned on Huedhautâs shoulder, a small smile on my face as well. âThanks, Hue.â At least I had a loving boyfriend to take care of me. If I were all on my own then I was sure I'd make a huge mistake by rushing to the Heavens just because I was feeling antsy.Â
***
My eyes darted frantically over the sheet of paper I held in my hands. Iâd been staring at it for the past hour, trying to convince myself that it was some kind of trick, but that wasn't the case. If it were a trick then I wouldn't have heard Duiâs voice in my head just prior to the letter appearing in my hands.Â
I thought I was panicking, Dui must have been even more distraught. After all⊠The letter was nothing nice. I recognized Duiâs handwriting immediately as he described the events of the incident. Shadow Dui didn't kill my best friend. He wasn't even on Earth that day prior to meeting up with me. He claimed such, but I had to check with the other gods just to be sure this was accurate.
But my concern wasn't entirely on Shadow Dui. My concern⊠was that Dui claimed that the god framing him had to be one of the gods in the mansion, another Zodiac god. But why would any of them have a problem with a human? I wasn't even sure any of them had ever met my friend.
If Dui had an idea on who it might have been then I would have had an easier time handling this. But as it was, I couldn't imagine any of the gods that I trusted with my life capable or willing to murder a human. That made it twice as terrifying knowing I couldn't trust anyone.Â
I had thought it would be okay to trust Huedhaut, at least. But⊠with the way things were, he was on Earth that day too. Unfortunately, Huedhaut was also a suspect. Besides, Dui was trusting me with both clearing his name and seeking justice for my friend. If Huedhaut knew I was tracking down a killer then he'd put a stop to it. He was too protective to let me do something like targeting a god who wasn't afraid to kill humans.Â
Whoever it was was clever enough to pin it on Dui, who had a history as a god killer. But wasn't that too simple of an answer for anyone to believe? Sure, the evidence lined up, but it was too perfectly set up. Until the time came that the killer was found, I couldn't trust anyone in the mansion. The murderer was one of the 12 Zodiacs and he was hiding amongst us!Â
Aggravated, I crumpled the paper in my hands. I'd have to burn it to avoid anyone else getting their hands on it. I didn't need anyone knowing I spoke to Dui.Â
â(Name)?â I flinched, spinning around on my heel to catch the god who snuck up behind me. Huedhaut stood in the doorway, his eyes trailing over me. âIs there a reason you're standing in the middle of the room like that?â He tilted his head as his eyes flickered to my hands. âIs something bothering you? What's that?âÂ
âNothing,â I immediately responded, shoving the crumpled letter into my pocket. âJust some notes I scribbled down earlier. I⊠was bored. So, I was thinking about going find you. Are you busy?â
He hummed before nodding his head. âI came to let you know I'll be in the Heavens tonight. Leoâs given me extra work. I'm tempted to believe he's done this in retaliation for how much time I've been spending with youâŠâ
I tilted my head. This⊠oddly worked out in my favor. If Huedhaut was busy working in the Heavens then it was unlikely he'd be able to catch onto my investigation and stop me. âBut when are you coming back?âÂ
A soft chuckle left his lips, a smirk crossing his face. âYouâll miss me that much? You're the reason Leoâs making me return to the Heavens. I'll try to be back tomorrow at the latest. Who knows, if you go to bed early, I may be by your side when you wake.âÂ
I glanced away from him, grumbling quietly, âStop teasing me and go to the Heavens alreadyâŠâ
Huedhaut tilted his head. âYou're sending me off without a goodbye kiss? I'm hurt.âÂ
âYou sound like the needy one.â Huffing, I granted his small request. Though, when my lips connected with his, I couldn't help but lean closer to him, craving just a bit more comfort from my boyfriend. I wished he could help me with this⊠Heâd have this solved within a day⊠But I couldnât put this information in the hands of gods.
His laughter was nothing more than quiet hums against my lips. When we finally parted, he caressed my cheek. âSo? Do you want to repeat that?â
I rolled my eyes, turning away from him as I abandoned his loving touch. âGo to the Heavens. The sooner you leave the sooner you can come back, you know.âÂ
âThen I'll be back soon,â he reassured, pecking his lips against my head, wrapping his arms around me from behind before taking his leave.Â
It hurt me to think that I had to treat Huedhaut as a suspect when he'd been the only one willing to help me through all my hardships. It had to be someone else and I was going to find out who. I was going to clear Duiâs name and I was going to bring this killer to justice.
My first suspect was admittedly the most expected Zodiac god⊠The former demon and son of the Dark King himself, Partheno. No one else would make a greater killer and then pin it on Dui. The question⊠was why?
Luckily, the god in question was in the living room and my eyes immediately locked into him as he worked with Krioff. If it was just those two⊠I could ask them, and if either one of them admitted something then Iâd have an extra god present for support. âExcuse me, can I ask you guys some questions?â
They turned their heads toward me and a smile blossomed across Parthenoâs face. For a killer, he was awfully carefree. âYou're a rare sight. We hardly ever see you out of Huedhautâs room anymore.âÂ
âIâve been healing,â I vaguely answered. The less they knew, the better. âBut thatâs not what Iâm here to talk about. Iâm here to ask about you two. Where were you the day Dui was banned from Earth? Tell me everything you can recall from that day and everyone you saw prior to that afternoon.âÂ
As surprised as they were with my line of questioning, Krioff assumed it was a method of human copingâI didnât bother to correct him since that excuse was useful to me. Both Partheno and Krioff had similar stories. They were in the Heavens that day doing work. A useful tip they gave me was that they had seen Dui in the Heavens that morning: once leaving Zyglavisâ room and another time walking through the palace.Â
Similar to me, they found this all quite puzzling. That day didnât make much sense, but Duiâs guilt probably got in the way of him denying anything. He confessed to the murder because he was a murderer.
But along with an explanation from Tauxolouve who joined us, it was easy to put together that Dui had been in the Heavens up until the point of meeting me in front of his room with the cherry pie. In the few hours he was on Earth, he had spent his time solely with me. I was also familiar with the appearance of old blood; that scene was very freshâI could recall it clearly enough, as much as I prefered not to. Shadow Dui never would have had the time to meticulously kill my best friend in such a manner.Â
Thankfully, the gods that I visited were all more than willing to cooperate, all completely under the guise that I was âcopingâ with the events of that day. As far as I knew, Huedhaut, Aigonorus, Ichthys, and Leon were the only ones who didnât have any witnesses to vouch for their whereaboutsânot that I was able to really talk to Ichthys or Teorus personally.
This entire investigation mightâve been easier if I were able to question Dui himself, but such a feat wasnât possible. UnlessâŠ
âScorpio?â I apprehensively asked, âDo you think you could take me to the Heavens to see Dui?â
His eyes narrowed, scanning me carefully for an answer as to why. As much as he glared, an answer didnât come to him and he was only left with his assumptions. âWhat the hell do you wanna do that for? If you think vengeance is going to-â
âThatâs not it,â I quickly defended myself. Though, I knew heâd only continue to get the wrong idea. Holding out my hand to prove my pure intentions, I quietly admitted, âI want to help him. I⊠Well, you care for Dui too and you didnât sound suspicious⊠So, I guess I can tell you. I donât think he killed my best friend, and I think heâs being framed. But I need to know what he knows. I need to talk to him.â
His face scrunched up into a scowl, turning away from me. âShadow Dui killed that goldfish. Heâs awaiting his sentence from the King. Youâll get into trouble messing with things you shouldnât.â
âDo you really think Shadow killed my friend?!â I tried again, desperately trying to change his beliefs. Seeing that he wasnât going to budge, I pressed, âDid the Department of Punishments even investigate this?â
âDui confessed.â
âBut it wasnât Dui!â
He turned around to face me and we stared evenly at each other. Sighing, Scorpio took this moment to warn me, âIf it wasnât Dui⊠youâre searching for a god who murdered a human without a clear motive. You sure you wanna risk your life for this?â
My eyes trailed down to the floor, my hand falling back to my side. He wasnât wrong. Besides, it was hard to imagine any of the gods actually killing a humanâeven Dui who was known as a god killer. Biting my lip anxiously, I uttered, âThere had to be a reason it was my friend that was killed. That coupled with my workplace burning down⊠the timing was ironic, donât you think? Isnât my life already at risk?â
The silence was thick between us as I let him absorb my words. I wasnât sure what the Department of Punishments was doing, but I knew Huedhaut would catch on if I let this linger too long. But I couldnât let him shield me like a child when I had a fight to win.Â
âTell me what you want to ask Dui. Iâll help, but I canât take you to the Heavens.â He paused. âI donât think your killer would be too happy about you meeting with your framed god.â
My eyes shot up to meet his. At least he was starting to get on the same page as me, even if he made a very valid point. So, I made sure to tell him every detail about the investigation, even my thoughts on who were the most suspicious gods with no valid alibis that I could personally verify. In all, he seemed to take my concerns very seriously before he left to return to the Heavens. We would find the killerâŠ
This back and forth went on for days, and unfortunately, Scorpio had yet to find anything incriminating from the three gods detained in the Heavens. While they had alibis for themselves, it didnât clear any of the other three suspected gods, nor did it give me any clues as to who it could have been. For all I know, Aigonorus could have been sleeping, Leon could have been avoiding Karno, and Huedhaut could have been doing his work alone as usual. I wanted to deny that it was Aigonorus with how gentle he was as a god, but I also didnât want Huedhaut to still be under suspicion.Â
I grumbled quietly, shoving my face into a pillow. Being a detective was hard with so little clues. What motive would those three have to kill a human, anyway? Well⊠Leon had a short temper, but he wasnât as murderous as he always seemed. Still, blaming Leon seemed better than blaming Huedhaut. I needed to figure this out soon.
***
Huedhaut glanced over to me, his eyes trailing over my still body, picking up on the subtle rise and fall of my chest. It had been a while since he had seen me sleep. On the nights when he was able to be on Earth and âsleepâ with me, all I seemed to do was toss and turn and sigh every other minute.
He knew for a fact that this had been going on ever since he found me with that piece of paper that one afternoon. If he had been smarter, he should have taken it to see for himself. It only seemed to have made a rift between the two of us.
Huedhaut sighed, knowing he had to figure this out soon, lest I fall ill with whatever was bothering me. So, without addressing me on the matter, he left to find another god that might know more. After all, he wasn't blind. He knew I was speaking to the other gods behind his back.Â
His eyebrows furrowed. With that line of thought⊠Could the rift between us be because I was cheating on him?Â
No, impossible. That didn't make sense either. He knew me better than that. Still, it didnât hurt to make sure⊠He'd only get answers by asking. Since I was fast asleep in his bed, I wouldn't notice him missing.Â
His decision made, he left his room, determined to question the next god he came across. One particular god that he came across, just so happened to be the very god I had been speaking most to. It was time to get answers from Scorpio.
***
This⊠This was golden. Huedhaut wasnât a fan of nonsense that got in his way, but after questioning a few gods who had been interrogated by me⊠he was livid. Though, at the same exact time, he was extremely pleased and head over heels for me.Â
Based on all the information he received about my recent whereabouts, he realized what I was doing: I was investigating the murder. He was proud that I was actually succeeding in finding out clues. If he was being honest, it just made him love me even more. I was such a smart goldfish to be following his trail so closely. To have narrowed down the list of suspected gods to only him, Leon, and Aigonorus was quite the feat. He knew I was worthy of having the soul of his goddess.
As proud as he may have been, he was still entirely livid that it had even come to this. He didnât want me to see him as the bad guy. However, at the same time, he wanted to see if I could actually put all of this information that I was gathering together. He was morbidly curious to test my intellect; and if I did happen to find out it was him behind it all along⊠Well, that would be troublesomeâmore so for me rather than him.
Besides, I had questioned almost all the other gods. Why hadnât I asked him anything about it yet? Or⊠did I already have my suspicions? That could explain the wedge that made itself between us. Well, if I didnât speak with him soon, he would have to do the honors and open the conversation himself.Â
***
It wasnât fair⊠Iâd been holding off asking Huedhaut anything about that day; praying that I could find the killer beforehand. Only⊠I cleared Aigonorus of suspicion. He was visiting his goats that day, so he wasnât on Earth at all. The only verification was that his goats werenât bad at communicating even if they didnât speak English.Â
And while none of the other gods saw him during that time, Tauxolouve told me that Aigonorus mentioned going to see his goats that day, which proved to be more useful than he thought since that narrowed it down to two other godsâfor the time being, anyway. If all else failed, Aigonorus was alone that day and I had every right to further inspect him and his goats.
Leon, on the other hand, was also found innocent, if his paperwork was anything to go by. He had been doing his work in his room that day, a rare sight, but believable with the actual paper evidence that littered his room. Karno was there to verify just when Leon was given this huge mess to work on. The time frames matched and so Leon was in the Heavens the whole time.Â
At this rate⊠Huehaut was the only god without an excuse⊠But he was also the only god I never questioned.Â
Huedhaut had been taking good care of me since all of this started; I didn't want to associate him with this at all. Besides, as far as motives went, what reason would he have to do this to me? I felt like Leon would have more reason to kill my best friend than Huedhaut who was always calm and composed and loved humans.Â
Still, there was no getting around this much-needed conversation. Maybe I could lighten the mood a bit before dumping everything on him. So, later that afternoon, I went to his roomâour shared room nowâto find him where he was reading on his bed as usual.
His eyes flickered to me as the door cracked open for me to confirm he was in there. And who was to say he wasn't sitting in his room reading that day? He was the one who came to get me and Dui from the balcony before the rain started and I hadnât noticed anything unusual about him then. His hair was kempt, his clothes and hands were free of blood, and his voice held just as much love and compassion as usual.Â
âSomething's bothering you,â he spoke, causing me to flinch out of my thoughts. I couldn't be getting distracted around a potential killer and arsonistâI winced, feeling horrible associating Huedhaut with those terms. â(Name), come here. You don't look well.âÂ
âI'm fine,â I quickly excused, only to shake my head after. There was no point in lying when I'd later tell him the heavy news. âActually⊠I have something to ask you, but⊠it's a little heavy. I was wondering if we could go outside and stargaze; maybe you could bring something to drink to lighten the mood?â
He was surprised by my line of requests, confused that I didn't just outright ask him, my trustworthy boyfriend, if he killed my best friend. Still, he jested, âIf you wanted to propose to me, you could have just said it. There's no need to take the roundabout way of asking for my hand in marriage.âÂ
âH- Hue!â I stuttered, and he smirked, having me exactly as he wanted me. I argued, âThat's not- I didn't come here to-â I huffed, turning away from him. âI don't have time for you making fun of me. This is serious!â
âI was also being serious,â he lightly commented, determined to distract my mind from seeing him as a bad guy. âIf there's ever a time you're ready to start a family with me, I'll ask you to marry me. I missed my chance with Clotho⊠But you're in my life, (Name) and I want to have all the best moments with you.â
This caused me to falter. How could someone out to ruin my life go and say all these sweet things? There's no way it was Huedhaut! I wasn't going to accept that as an answer! Still, I had to ask⊠âI'm sorry, what I'm doing is important right now⊠I'll meet you on the balcony, âkay?â Sending him a terse smile, I retreated from his room. There was one person I had to speak with first⊠I needed to get my facts straight.Â
Trailing back to Scorpioâs room, I gently knocked. As a Punishments member, I was sure he could help me solve this. Though, I was surprised when Zyglavis was the one to open the door for me. My eyes widened and Zyglavis asked in confusion, â(Name) (Surname)?â
âIâŠâ I faltered, âI need to talk to ScorpioâŠâ
Scorpio hummed, glancing over Zyglavisâ shoulder before nodding. âYeah. Come in. Zyg, you might wanna hear this. This stupid woman has been trying to prove Duiâs innocence by finding the killer of that goldfish. So, let's hear what else you found.â
They were polite enough to offer me a seat as we sat around Scorpioâs desk, but that didn't lessen the tension as I announced, âIn the past week, I narrowed the suspects down to three gods, and of those three, two don't have entirely valid alibis. Well⊠I haven't asked the final one for an alibi yet, but I figured discussing it might narrow my thoughts.â
Zyglavis crossed his legs, requesting, âLet's start with the god with an alibi. What did you find and is it a sound excuse?â
âIt's Leon,â I nodded. âThat day he was busy working in the Heavens. It wouldn't have checked out, but there was evidence. He wasn't granting wishes, he was taking care of backed up paperwork. As Karno and Vega were managing Leonâs work, they were able to vouch for him. He was in the palace that day.â
Scorpio scoffed, crossing his arms. âI'd say Karno would stick up for him if they were both in on it; we know that rabid lion doesn't like Shadow Dui. But Vega wouldnât have kept it to herself. Altair would have told us if something wasn't right.â
âAgreed,â Zyglavis nodded. That got Leon off our radar of suspects, much to my disappointment now that we were nearing Huedhautâs name. Starting again, Zyglavis tried, âNow, who is the god with an alibi that you're uncertain of?âÂ
âThe first one⊠is Aigonorus. Though, I can't wrap my mind around what the motive would be. Before meeting me, granting wishes of humans was just a job and I'm pretty sure he'd never have associated with us otherwise.â My reasoning was sound, and the two gods had to agree with me. Still, there was his alibi to consider. âNo one had seen him that day, but he told me he wasn't around the palace or on Earth; he was visiting his goats. Which, his goats aren't horrible at communicating and verified that he was with them. But it's the same issue as with Leon and Karno. His goats would vouch for him regardless, don't you think?â
Zyglavis nodded to my suspicions. âIt is true that Aigonorus has the power to communicate and manipulate animals. It's worthwhile to keep him as a suspect to go back to. At least until you can rule out your final god. So, who is left without an alibi?â
I stared at the floor, too anxious to bring up the name now. Saying it would only make it feel that much more real to me. I didn't want Huedhaut wrapped up in all of this, but it was useless to go around it when he was one of the last suspects.
Scorpio sighed, quietly admonishing, âStupid⊠You can't be biased about it. It doesn't matter how you feel about him, you can't protect him like Karno would for Leon or like those goats would do for Aigonorus. Do you think it's Huedhaut?âÂ
The question itself stung, making my chest ache in pain. I couldnât cling to my biases forever, and they were both staring at me and waiting for an answer. âI thought about it⊠But Huedhaut loves humans. What would his motive beâŠ? If he loved me so much, why kill my best friend? He only ever had the best intentions for me.â
Zyglavisâ eyebrows furrowed. âYour affections aside, you haven't addressed him about this, have you? Why is that?â
âWellâŠâ I hesitated. âI knew if I brought it up with him that he'd want to stop me. He's really protective and I knew tracking down a killer would be dangerous. So⊠I never told him I was doing this. I asked to talk with him later tonight⊠Thatâs when I'll ask him about it.â
âYou never told himâŠ?â Scorpioâs eyes narrowed. The situation was awfully suspicious as he revealed, âHuedhaut already asked me about it. He knows.âÂ
âHe⊠knows?â I faltered. Clearly, he couldnât have been that concerned if he was letting me carry on without mentioning it. But that didnât make him look good. âHe never said anything⊠He never tried to help either.â Heâs the smartest god in the Heavens. I knew he would either stop me or help me if he was aware, but he hadnât said anything at all regarding what I was doing. Did that mean he didn't care⊠or that he was hiding the truth?
Zyglavis sighed, offering a word of advice, âI think itâs time you set aside your feelings and focus on the reality you may be facing.â
But⊠I was too terrified to accept that this could be the truth. âHeâŠÂ I canât.â I slouched in my chair, avoiding their pointed gazes. âI canât. He⊠Iâm too close. Besides, thereâs no motive! He loves humans! He loves me!âÂ
âYouâre the motive, then,â Scorpio bluntly figured. âYouâre the only one tying any of this together. It wasnât randomâyour workplace, the human closest to you.â
Zyglavis nodded in agreement, following Scorpioâs line of thought as he explained, âYou would think this string of misfortune would continue regardless of who was with you. However⊠since youâve fallen into his arms, all has been well, hasnât it?â
âHeâs going to have an alibi,â I instantly replied. Thereâs no way he wouldnât have an excuse, a reason for not being on Earth during the time.Â
Scorpio hissed, âDonât be freaking biased about it. You need to do the right thing if heâs the one. You wanna stay with a killer who backed you into a corner with loving words?â
âN- NoâŠâ I stuttered, but I was extremely hesitant to do what had to be done. After all Huedhaut had done for me⊠did I have what it would take to point him out as the one behind all of this? Well⊠if that was the case, I wasnât sure I had the heart to support him for everything heâd done to me. He simultaneously ruined and saved my life all at once. âYouâre right. Iâll do my best. If he says anything, Iâll call you for help. I⊠have to take this seriously. For Dui, for Ichthys, for Teorus, and for all the other gods that were pulled into this mess. I will get to the bottom of this. He hurt a lot of peopleâŠâ
Zyglavis laid a hand on my shoulder, directing my attention to his serious expression. âWeâll be here for you. You can handle this.â
***
I could handle this; I could handle this. I repeated that thought over and over again in my head as I walked through the doors of the balcony. Just as I suspected, Huedhaut was there waiting for me. There was a cute little table set up with a bottle and two wine glasses.Â
Ordinarily, my stomach would have been fluttering with butterflies, but now it was stirring with anxiety. Well, thatâs what the alcohol was there for. âSorry Iâm a little late,â I apologized, stealing a seat beside the table. âYou know how the other gods like to talk when they catch me.âÂ
âThatâs understandable,â he replied simply, fixing our drinks. âAfter all, they must be curious as to how your investigation is coming along.â
I froze, my eyes glued to him. He had never mentioned my activities before. His timing was ironically scary. He drank from his glass, only sparing me a glance as I took the filled glass from the table and drank from it. I was too nervous to get any words out, so I waited until I was half way through the glass before I finally commented, âI thought youâd be more concerned about me searching for a killer.â
âI am,â he confirmed. âThough, as I understood, you neglected to tell me about this because you didnât want me interfering. However, if I thought for a moment that you were in harm's way, I would have stepped in. Iâm not sure if you recall, but I can see your future.â
My eyes flickered back to him. How could I forget that little detail? He would have foreseen all of this. âThen tell me,â I requested, âDo you know if Iâll find him?â
His pause was way too long for comfort, but he finally nodded sharply. âYou do.â The corners of his lips curled up as he unexpectedly praised me, âYouâre so intelligent, I admire that about you. Even up against twelve gods, you donât dare back down. I donât think this excitement would have been stirred by yourself, however. So, can you tell me where this all started?â
It was strange how he was talking as if we were having a completely normal conversation when the topic was something that wasnât exactly light. Still, I answered him, âIt started a few weeks ago when Dui warned me that I was in danger. I didnât think too hard about it⊠until I realized there was more to the story than what we saw.â I paused. âI checked everything and everyone. They all have alibis. Almost⊠all of themâŠâ I emptied my glass, filling it with more wine for a second roundâall until my cheeks were burning. âI didnât come to you because I thought Iâd find him before it came to this. But youâre the last god⊠I have to know⊠where were you that day?â
Finally, the question came out and Huedhaut had a well-rehearsed answer. âI was doing my work until the time came where I went to retrieve you. I knew youâd get sick from the rain if I left you out there. Then I proceeded to leave to meet with Karno.âÂ
My eyes narrowed as I lightly sipped on my wine. Thankfully, it was already proving to have a calming effect as my anxiety wasnât rearing its ugly head. His response only left for one question. âCan Karno or anyone else verify that you were doing your work that morning?âÂ
âI was alone,â he revealed, though being alone wasn't unusual for him. âBut you can ask the other gods, I changed the water from the reflection pool that day. The gods using it would have noticed.â
I nodded slowly. âI'll have to ask them.â Hesitantly, I added an apology, âI'm sorry I'm doing this to you. Youâre just the only god I havenât spoken to.â
âYou don't have to apologize,â he replied, offering me a soft smile. âPlease, don't feel guilty about this. I wouldn't feel so proud of you if you weren't working so hard to free your friend. I'm only worried about you and how you might feel with the answer you find.âÂ
âI won't be happy,â I muttered onto the rim of my glass. âI haven't found him yet and I'm already heartbroken about it. To think one of the gods I love and trust would ruin my life⊠I don't want that person to be you.â Pulling the glass from my lips, I stared into the vibrant liquid, swishing it around. âWould you tell me if it was you?âÂ
âNo,â he honestly replied, making my heart break further. âI don't believe any god would admit to wrongdoingâespecially to a human.âÂ
âEven if that god loved me?â
âEspecially if that god loved you.â
It was clear that we were both walking around the question. I didn't want to know if he was the bad guy in my life. But I had to find outânot for my sake, but for Dui. âHuedhaut,â I said, and he flinched upon hearing his full name fall from my lips. âI've gone through every single god to get here⊠And you've been the least forthcoming with what I want to know. Why can't you be honest with me?â
âI've always been honest with you. I've never lied to you,â he sighed, placing his half-empty glass on the table. âI'll give you your answers when you start asking the right questions.â
I pursed my lips together. âWhat was your motive?â Did he even have one if he was the killerâŠ? This conversation was giving me chills.
âYou.âÂ
So⊠Scorpio was right on the money, wasnât he? He did all of this until I was in his arms, just as he seemed to want. Now that I was where he wanted me, all of the bad things suddenly stopped.
For some reason, I didnât feel as anxious as I should have been in the presence of a killer. If anything, it felt as if we were having an average conversation. Was this because of the alcohol? The gods had some pretty strong stuff and I was thankful for its ability to keep me calm as I pressed him, âWhy? Couldnât you just accept that I didnât love you at the time? If you would have waited and done things the right way, you wouldnât be in trouble with Zyglavis and Scorpio right now.â
âIf I had waited, you would have ended up with Krioff,â he revealed, making me falter. Everything he did was to ensure I didnât end up with the man I really loved. He drew me away from my home on Earth as well as the other gods. âDonât look upset. Arenât you happy with me? Iâve cared for you after every grievance and Iâve provided everything youâve needed. Didnât I bring you a delightful drink and agree to join you tonight? Youâve impressed me.â He smiled fondly. âMy smart little goldfish followed a trail that not even the other gods could follow. Iâve rewarded you with all the answers you were looking for. So, what reason could there be for you to look so miserable?â
âDonât act like this was all a game! You hurt people,â I hissed, glaring at him. âI donât know what you expected to happen here, but I knew I might find something I wouldnât like. And⊠I canât say Iâm sorry, Huedhaut⊠but Iâm telling Zyglavis.âÂ
âBut he already knows, doesnât he?â Huedhaut asked, tilting his head as if he were actually confused with me. âYou told him already. Your frequent meetings with Scorpio means that Zyglavis already knows. So then⊠we have to wonder why they arenât already here.â Shrugging his shoulders, he commented, âMaybe youâre the only one concerning yourself over things that gods are frankly indifferent to.â
âThatâŠâ I trailed off. He was right, wasnât he? No, no, no. I shook my head furiously. âThey want to prove Duiâs innocence as much as I do. Theyâre not indifferent to this.â
âOkay, then,â he calmly replied, placing his glass on the table. âYou seem to know quite a bit about us gods for only being with us a handfull of years.âÂ
âI donât,â I quickly disagreed. Well, he was probably being sarcastic again, but my mind couldnât keep up with him. Once again, my mind was stuck on the why. âWhyâd you blame Dui? Whyâd you kill my best friend like thatâŠ? Not even the Dark King was ever so cruelâŠâ
His quiet hum hardly met my ears, but he looked entirely unbothered. Well, if he was slightly irritated, he did a good job at hiding it behind a mask of disinterest. âTell me, could there have been a better choice of god? Heâs a god-killer, isnât he? Besides⊠I knew if he was framed with a minor crimeâlike what Ichthys and Teorus had doneâyou would easily forgive him over time. If seeing his face brought up a rather gruesome memory⊠I wouldnât have anything to worry about, would I?â
âThat donât makeâny senseâŠâ I slurred, my eyes narrowing on him.Â
The corners of his lips curled up. âAre you already so intoxicated that you canât think?â
âNo,â I hurriedly denied, only serving to make him more amused. âIf Krioff was thâonly one⊠whyâd you gotta hurt my friends for?â
He tilted his head, his eyes scanning over me. âDo you mean to ask why I didnât choose to frame Krioff instead?â Following a drunken nod, he pursed his lips, wondering if he should have let me drink so much for such an important conversation. âThat would have been a waste. After all, with your attention on me, there was never any time for you to interact with him. He wouldnât pursue you without you first pursuing him. I did all that was necessary.â
âButâŠâ I paused, my eyebrows furrowing together. âWhy⊠them? Why Iâthys anâ Teo anâ D- Dui?âÂ
âThey were the ones keeping you from me, werenât they?â He inclined his head with a knowing smirk. âIt isnât like they got into any real trouble. Being sent to the Heavens is less than a smack on the wrist. I was merciful enough for you, wasnât I?â
I suppose the entire situation could have been worse, but aside from the state of those three, he still killed a human and he still manipulated me. âYouâŠâ I growled, trying to come up with the right words. âYou jusâ a cruel god⊠horrâŠibleâŠâ I blinked furiously, trying to keep a clear head.Â
For the first time since weâd been together, it was the first time Iâd called him a cruel god and meant it. Now Iâd done it. He wasnât so amused when I was taking my intoxicated frustrations out on him. âI think youâre a little drunk. You should get some sleep and we can talk about your new arrangements in the morning.â Knowing Iâd refuse his kind advice, he stood, electing to return me to our room himself.
However, as soon as he moved to lift me from my chair, he froze in place, shocked at the warm sting that crossed his cheek. He was too stunned to move before he heard me hiss, âDonâtouch me!â His eyes finally flickered back to me, his heart aching at the hatred in my gazeâmy gaze that was fighting desperately to stay trained on him. ââm not goinâ with you! You ruined âvrythâng!â My head drooped, leaning against his torso for a moment before I was able to pull away and hold myself up again. But somewhere in my drunken mind, I knew something was wrong with this situation⊠âWha'd you put in itâŠ?âÂ
âYou shouldn't worry so much over things that are only meant to help you,â he replied, his fingers passing through my hair, a soothing gesture. âI knew you'd be in distress, so I gave you something to help you relax. Have I ever done anything that wasn't in your best interest?â
âYou killed âemâŠâ I slurred, trying to keep my watery eyes open.
Seeing my disoriented state, he lifted me into his arms with ease, to carry me back to his room. I may have been scared of my situation, but at least I could no longer fight or hit him. Still, he didn't wish for me to hate him. âIt should soothe your heart to know that I did not have hand in your friendâs death. I merely used them as a plot device and, what you might call, character development.â Sure, I was already half asleep and sniffling back tears, but he continued explaining nonetheless, âYour friend was murdered by humans. The result would have been the same. I simply⊠thought to use them in a more beneficial manner.â
In other words, regardless of anyone being accused of murder, my friend died for reasons outside of godly influence. Still, I stuttered a second accusation, âYou bârned mâ workâŠâ He was an arsonist no matter how that went. It didn't matter if it was by godly powers, he still almost killed more than a handful of people.Â
âDid you forget?â He gazed down at my face that had a few trails of tears. âIchthys and Teorus managed that. It was their gift that burst into flames, and not by my doing. The only part I played⊠was in simply putting the idea into Teorusâ head to make you smile again.â And it worked for a time; I seemed so very happy with Huedhaut up until Duiâs intervention. âThese gods put useless concerns in your head.â He sighed. âWell, we'll have to fix that.â
âHuedhaut?â Karno called, making Huedhaut pause. Though, Karnoâs concerned eyes were glued on me. Eyebrows furrowing, he asked, âIs (Name) alright?â
âShe's been distraught,â Huedhaut answered honestly. âItâs understandable; Anyone would be distressed after a failed attempt of proving their friend innocent. You know (Name) was close with Dui. I can't blame her for taking her anger out on me when she's in so much pain.â
A soft sigh left Karnoâs lips as he gazed at me with soft eyes. Slowly, his eyes trailed back to Huedhaut. âShe's lucky to have you. I can't imagine how she might have taken everything if she'd been alone. ButâŠâ He hesitated⊠âIs she drunk?â
âAhâŠâ Huedhautâs gaze flickered aside. âI granted a wish. Though, had I known the conversation would be so heavy, I'd have given her something lighter.â Studying my restless expression, he added, âI'm sure she'll be better in the morning.âÂ
The corner of Karnoâs lips curved up into a soft smile as he watched the two of us; he loved how caring Huedhaut was to his loved ones. âKeep taking care of her, Hue.âÂ
Giving his friend a nod, Huedhaut happily took me to his room. Likely, heâd have to deal with me having a hangover, but heâd be ready to deal with that when it came. Gazing down at me peacefully sleeping on his bed, a blush coated his cheeks. He was happy that heâd never again have to stress about losing me. As soon as this âinvestigationâ matter was well behind us, weâd be much happier and Huedhaut couldnât wait for that day to come.
***
My head pounded with the fury of a thousand horses stampeding against my skull⊠But the rays of light that shone through the windows above certainly didnât help, despite the beauty with which they illuminated the room. With a quiet groan, I turned over in bed, shoving the pillow over my head to block out the piercing sunlight.Â
The sound of shuffling did not escape my notice and shortly after, I heard his voice. âItâs nearly noon. You had a little too much to drink last night, but I made something to help counter that, if youâre willing to come out from hiding.â After a silent moment with neither of us moving, he snapped his fingers and I tensed up. I waited for anything to physically happen to me: for the blanket and pillows to be removed, for me to be dragged out of the bed, or maybe even for the entire bed to just flip on its side and force me off. But⊠none of those things happened, and after another moment, Huedhaut finally added, âIâve blocked the windows for the sun. Come out.â
My heart was still racing and my head was still pounding as I hesitantly crawled out from under my comforting place beneath the blankets. Gazing warily at Huedhaut, he presented me with a cup which I gazed at with just as much suspicion. Still sizing each other up, I probed, âPut something in that one too?â
He pursed his lips. âItâs to help your hangover. Unless youâd rather I leave you in painâŠâ He paused before adding, âI wouldnât wish to do that.â
âWhy?â Tense silence surrounded us as I glared at the floor, my eyebrows scrunched together in mild pain. âYouâve done it beforeâŠâÂ
âIâd never hurt you,â he repeated, trying to convince me.Â
Unfortunately, I knew I wouldnât be able to handle him until this headache was gone. Frustrated, I snatched the glass from his hands, gulping down the bitter liquid and praying for it to work quickly. Though he looked pleased with my acceptance, I no later knocked him down a peg, accusing, âYouâve always hurt me, I just didnât know it. I wanted to be with Krioff, you ruined that. You banished my friends to a place Iâm not allowed to go. And the only thing I get from the other gods are looks of pity!â With a wrathful scream, I threw the glass at him, missing by a hair and having it shatter across the floor behind him. âYouâre always hurting me!â
âIâve told you,â he mentioned quietly, not reacting to my rage with rage of his own. He was calm as always. âEverything Iâve done is for your own good. However, Iâve done nothing to harm you. Iâve given you all the answers you desired and still you refuse to understand. Who would you have turned to if you had found out your friend was brutally murdered and the murderer gone unpunished? I took care of everything for you.âÂ
âShut up,â I whimpered.
âYour workplace burned, yet no one was injured. How is that?â Huedhaut continued to press. âHad I not been there for each of these instances, youâd hate no one but yourself. I grant all your wishes, only with the hopes that you might acknowledge my efforts. I love you. Iâll do anything for you⊠but I will not hurt you.â
Staring at the shattered glass, I couldnât help but ask, âDo you even feel guilty for manipulating me?â Did he hurt as much as I was hurting?
The corners of his lips pulled upward. âI canât feel guilty when youâre well. I canât feel guilty knowing I have everything I ever wanted and I now have the opportunity to give you the best life.â
âBut youâll never give me what I wantâŠâ
His smile turned rueful in a flash, but he didnât look remorseful. âI canât do something that would hurt you. You want the life you had before⊠but thatâs an impossible wish that even a god couldnât grant. All you can do now is accept what Iâm giving you and move on. We were happy before, werenât we?â
I hated how he was the smartest man in the Heavens. It didnât matter that I knew everything heâd done, he wasnât guilty of any kind of sin. He didnât kill that human and he didnât set my workplace on fire. He didnât force me to leave my home to live with him. He simply manipulated all of these elements until everything stood in his favor⊠until I willingly ran into his arms.Â
Never once did he let me suffer alone. Even now, he wasnât lashing out at me and he wasnât trapping me in his room. âŠwas he?
Warily gazing at him, I shoved the blankets off of me, crawling from the bed. However, before I could race for the door, his arms wrapped around me and I frantically clawed at his arms so he would release me. âCalm down,â he advised, not budging until I stopped fighting against him. Only once I stopped trying to pull away from him did he remove his hold. âGo the other way. Youâll walk straight into glass and hurt yourself if you go that way. Then youâd be bedridden, wouldnât you?â
Even now⊠he was still caring for me and ensuring my safety. But⊠he wasnât disabling me from leaving. Carefully trailing around the glass, I finally escaped the suffocation of being around Huedhaut. I blinked, standing alone in the hall. Did he really just let me walk away knowing what I know? He⊠He had to know something I didnât know.Â
Too anxious to stay put, I wandered straight into the living room where I was desperate to tell Zyglavis everything I knew. Someone had to be able to do something. Only⊠I was disappointed when Zyglavis finally opened his mouth to comment on my findings: âWe canât do anything.â
âW- WhatâŠ?â My eyebrows furrowed together. âWhat do you mean you âcanât do anythingâ? Of course, you can! He confessed!âÂ
âHe confessed to being involved; and yes, it may have been in⊠less than moral ways⊠However, he hasnât committed a sin; there were no heavenly laws broken.â Zyglavisâ eyebrows were also knitted together in frustration. âWhatâs more is that we have no evidence of these activities, regardless of his admittance. You have also admitted that he isnât keeping you here against your will, so he is not under any wrongdoing by housing you in the mansion.â
Tense silence followed his explanation until finally, I slowly said, âThen heâs going to get away with everything⊠and Duiâs still going to be held accountable for killing a human! Can you live with that?â
âNo,â Zyglavis said as if it didnât bother him. Pursing his lips, he explained, âWe will address that matter with Huedhaut. Counting on his cooperation, we will find the human responsible for this murder and punish them accordingly. As there was no divine intervention of human life or death, Dui will be proven innocent, though there is nothing we can do about the⊠unfortunate placement of the human.â Seeing that I was dispirited with his answers, he offered, âBeing that Huedhuat is a member of the Department of Wishes, such admonishments should be in the hands of his minister. And, being that this is a serious matter⊠I advise you to take this issue to that wild lion and hope the consequences are what you desire.â
Slowly, I asked, âIs that the best we can do?âÂ
Pursing his lips, he nodded firmly. âI apologize. But should you find anything else that might prove him of having sinned, return to me and Iâll do what I can to ensure you get the justice you seek.â
I knew it⊠If anything, Huedhaut probably looked like nothing but a nice god who was only trying to care for his partner. There was nothing anyone would be able to do.
While I was lost in thought, Leon walked into the living room with a deep frown. Clearly he had overheard the conversation, but all he could do in response to my depression was comment, âI knew he wouldnât be able to let go of her so easily. But just like her, you fell in love with how caring and clever he is. Youâre completely ensnared, arenât you? You can deny it so fervently, but you canât even fool yourself.â
He stared at me, but seeing that I didnât readily have a comeback, he took a seat in the living room, determined to ignore Zyglavis as he relaxed during his time away from Karno and the Heavens.Â
I would have immediately left the tension in the living room, but if I was being honest with myself, I no longer had a place to go. Dui, Ichthys, and Teorus were in the Heavens, no one else was there that would willingly take me in, and I would not return to Huedhautâhe didnât deserve it⊠I didnât deserve it.
Leaning back on the sofa, the living room was quiet and peaceful. It was something I thought I could appreciate, until my eyes widened upon finding Huedhaut entering the room. For a moment, I was certain he was there for me. However, he didnât even glance at meânor did he give me a wink of attention. My staring didnât seem to affect him as he spoke calmly with Leon about work. I willingly broke up with him and he was being respectful of my space and wishes.
It was as if he didnât care that all his efforts to have me went to waste. He wasnât even remotely bothered by the way things turned out. If I could forget about everything heâd done, then things between the gods felt like they hadnât changed at all.Â
Zyglavis met my gaze as if silently checking on me, but he just as quickly looked away, as if he had seen exactly what Leon was describing a few moments prior.
I wasnât sure how to take the situation between me and the gods in the living room, so I quickly fled, wanting to leave the mansion if only for a moment. But as I sought out the door, I ran straight into Karno who was quick to catch my outstretched arms.Â
â(Name),â he called my name, offering me a concerned smile that made my heart ache. Though, his eyebrows soon furrowed in genuine worry at my lack of reaction. âWhatâs wrong?â
I stared at him for a moment, silently deciding that if there was any god to stay with, I wanted to stay with Karno⊠Luckily, he gladly accepted to take me in with the condition that I tell him what was going on between me and Huedhaut. Of course, I explained my situation and earned his ready sympathy.Â
His arms were always open to me⊠and he offered the same warmth and kindness as Huedhaut always did⊠Only⊠Karno wasnât Huedhaut.Â
Still, I was grateful for his acceptance and eagerness to help me, even if he could only give a similar solution to Zyglavis and offer to do his best in discussing the issue with Leon.
Karno was the reason my week without Huedhaut went as smoothly as it did. It was peaceful, quiet⊠Yet⊠it was, above all else, painful. So many times, the truth was waved so obviously in my face: Karno wasnât Huedhaut, and Huedhaut could not be replaced. My heart ached every time I walked past Huedhaut in a hall, or saw him working in the living room, or walked past his door. Even looking at a book made the longing grow more painful.
It made it worse with how he never so much as spared me a glance. It was as if⊠I didn't exist to him anymore. Rightfully, I should have been glad for all of this⊠but why did it hurt so much?Â
I hated how Huedhaut created an irreplacable spot for him in my heart. Or, thinking more deeply on it, maybe that spot had always been there. Maybe, to make myself feel better, I could place the blame on Clotho⊠After all, this could have been considered her fault. If it werenât for her love for him, maybe I wouldnât be so hopelessly attached to the most deviously clever god in the Heavens.Â
A couple of weeks later, I was on the verge of a breakdown when I finally gave into my initial urges to see Huedhaut, desperate for the love and affection I'd been neglectedâand had been furiously avoiding. Only, Huedhaut wasnât in the mansion as I had hoped, he was still in the Heavens.
Unfortunately, the minute Leon spotted me trailing through the mansion on a search for somethingâor rather, someoneâhe huffed in amusement. He didnât say anything, but I could tell he was humored by my desperation to see Huedhaut after such a short time apart. He knew better than to think Huedhaut didnât have me wrapped around his finger.
Upon returning, the sought-after god was surprised to find me trailing him to his room. He suspected it could have been a coincidence and that I just so happened to have been going in the same direction as him. But he was the only one in the hall when I spoke, âIâm sorryâŠâ His eyebrows furrowed. What was I apologizing for? âYou were rightâŠâ I paused. âI canât go back to the way things were before. I- I thought I could go back and start again, but itâs not that easy. And- And Karno tried to help, but it only feels worse because itâs not you. And Iâm stuck knowing things I wish Iâd never found! I wouldnât hate you so much if I didnât know youâd done all thisâŠâ I paused for another tense moment, wondering if he was considering my words. He had at least paused to listen. âWe were happy before⊠but I canât stand you touching me anymore⊠and I hate hearing your taunting voice, because I canât do anything.âÂ
âWhat did you come here for?â He appears dispassionate, as if he didnât care for my insulting explanation. âYou broke my heart by leaving me for other gods. Youâve hurt me where Iâve never hurt you. Why should I do you a favor?â
âIâm not asking for a favor⊠Iâm apologizing. You- You donât deserve one. YouâŠâ I trailed off. âI donât want to keep suffering like this. You have no idea how confused I feel!â
âI know,â he simply answered. Of course, he knew. He always knew. âKnowledge is a cursed thing that few can resistâespecially curious humans.â That last bit was a jab at your desire for answers. âFortunately, I can help you,â he offered. Snapping his fingers, a glass ball appeared in his hands and he looked down at it, inquiring, âYou wish for me to take your memories? I can put them in here⊠a safe place to serve as a reminderâŠâ
He didnât elaborate on what he meant, but I could only gather that, should I wish to suspect him of any wrongdoings in the future, heâd have my horrible memories of these past few months stored away in a bubble. It was smart, as always. He had a clever solution for the problem he was responsible for.Â
âYes⊠Please,â I begged, finally surrendering in this long game of mental chess.Â
A considerate smile crossed his features. âWell, you know what to say.â
Confusion filled my gaze before I finally apologized, âIâm so sorry for hurting you, Hue⊠But Iâm hurting too. Cantâ you help me fix thisâŠ?â I trailed off at seeing the look in his eyes. It was a familiar look, a knowing look that said I was missing something.
After a brief moment, he assisted, âYou know what you have to sayâŠâ
I faltered at how obvious it should have been. Finally, I prayed to him, âHue⊠I wish I could forget everything weâve done so things could go back to the way they used to be.âÂ
I gazed at him with begging eyes, a sense of relief overcoming me at seeing his pleased smile. âFinally⊠Everything will finally return to as it should be.â Lifting his hand, he finally snapped his fingers and the world was overtaken by a bright light.Â
***
Huedhaut was reading a book some time after having laid me comfortably in his bed. Taking oneâs memories isnât an easy process, but Huedhaut had prepared himself for this very task, and it had gone off without a hitch.Â
He was only waiting patiently for me to wake up when he paused, hearing me call out his name softly. His gaze flickering to me, light seemed to fill his eyes once again. âAh, my love. Youâre awake already. I thought youâd sleep longer.â
This, unbeknown to me, was a test. Though, according to the blush that colored my cheeks, Huedhaut was happy. He knew he didnât usually refer to me as âhis loveâ unprompted. So, he was greatly pleased when my shy response was, âGeez, H- Hue⊠I love you too. IâŠâ I trailed off, curling further with the blanket around me. âI guess I am pretty tired,â I relented. âBut can you come lay down with me? I⊠I feel like I miss you, for some reason. I had a weird dream that I canât seem to remember.â
His soft laugh was music to my ears as he joined me in bed. âYou neednât worry, (Name)... Iâll always be by your side, even every single time you miss me. Just let me know if you do remember that dream you had. Iâm so curious to know what it was aboutâŠâ At the end, he added with a love-struck smile, âMy loveâŠâ

Hi this is my first time doing this so I am so sorry if what Iâm asking for is confusing. Could you do Fem! of GN! Reader that is Arkhamverse Jason Todd with Muzan, Kokushibo, Douma, and Akaza(separate). If you arenât aware of who Arkham Jason Todd is; he basically gets tortured by the Joker for a year or two and all that mental manipulation for him to hate Batman. So in Batman: Arkham Knight, he appeared there as the Arkham Knight to kill Batman, at there were times he almost succeeded. So for this request, I was thinking that the reader does get tortured for a year or two(so they are mentally fucked up) and while being tortured, their captor just shows them pictures of their s/o with someone else. Which means their captor is manipulating the reader into believing that their s/o had just replaced them like that.(Which does not correlate with what actually happened). And so for things to line up in this universe, capability wise, the reader would be more like Darth Vader(weapon, fighting style, force: maybe, suit: maybe; Iâm so sorry that Iâm doing a lot of crossovers; I apologize if I am being overwhelming). The reader was manipulated to hate their s/o, and want to kill them(not by actual will, the reader is confused and needs help). The reader and their s/o had a few run ins, and the reader got close to killing them a few times. So perhaps on one of the run-ins they have, the reader gets unmasked(they intentionally do it) and their s/o is just shocked that they were alive. And just what their reaction and response would be to this, and would go on from here. Would the s/o or reader die? Do they somehow clear this misunderstanding? I came with this request purely for angst with a hint of comfort, but please do have fun with this. And so sorry for the confusion I might have gave you.
(Hello Anon, Thank you for being so nice. I hope you donât mind that I didnât do Douma and I hope you enjoy this!!)
Delusional Mistakes
(Characters Included- Muzan, Kokushibo, and Akaza)
(Warning: Manga spoilers for Akazaâs part, angst, swearing, death)
About the reader: Reader is human and has a mask. Reader has whatever abilities you want itâs up to you but the strength of the abilities are Upper Rank level, the reason reader has the abilities is because of the person that tortured them.
đ©žMuzan Kibutsujiđ©ž
- When you got kidnapped he was angry. He immediately got one of the Upper Moons to look for you before something bad happens. He couldnât concentrate on anything due to the stress, which that only made him more angry. When the Upper rank he sent to look for you came back with no results, he lashed out calling them useless for failing to meet his expectations.
....
The first time you two battled he was surprised that you even stood a chance against him. When you came barely close to killing him he was terrified, the fearful memories of Yoriichi replayed over and over in his head like a broken record. He slashed your face with a powerful blow, causing your mask to break and his red eyes widen.
âWhat the hell, Y/N whatâs gotten into you?â Muzan said, still wrapping his head around the fact that youâre still alive.
âYou should ask that to yourself. You fucking replaced me for some nobody!â You shouted, anger cycling through your veins.
This enraged the Demon Lord, âHow dare you accuse me of that. You know what since you want to accuse me of replacing you, I think I might will.â
Almost immediately after he spoke those words he struck you with a quick attack, in which you dodged but got off balance. Suddenly he appeared behind you, putting his arm straight through your head, instantly killing you.
âGoodbye, former lover.â
đKokushibođ
- When you disappeared he went looking for you, he found it very strange that you just suddenly went missing. So he looked around for a few weeks but when there was no luck he stopped. He destroyed some pillars in his room out of frustration before sitting on the floor, feeling the sadness and grief hanging on his shoulders. Eventually he moved on as time went passed.
....
When you decided to attack him he was confused on why a person would randomly target him like that but he didnât think too much about it. He was mesmerized by your abilities so he offered you to become a demon and get stronger.
âAs if I would want to send eternity in this world knowing that assholes like you exist.â
When you bluntly rejected his offer he was shocked, not because of the rejection but because of your voice. He recognized it. He grabbed your mask and ripped it off, revealing your face. He puts his blade back in its holder, dropping the intention of killing you.
âY/N-â
âShut it Kokushibo, there is no talking this out. Any questions you have will never be answered so drop it.â You spit out.
âIs that so?â He questioned even though he knew the answer.
He took his blade and sliced your head off to ensure of a quick death. To his surprise he felt tears running down his face, he had thought he moved on from you but it turns out that couldnât be further from the truth.
đAkazađ
- When you went missing, he was determined to find you. He searched for months and months on end until he finally gave up. He was so tired of searching for months only for no sign of you, but just because he gave up doesnât mean he doesnât love you anymore, he still loves you greatly. He feels so angry that you got taken away from him, he will never forgive the foolish person who took you away.
....
When you attacked him for the first time he didnât think much of it. He just brushed it off as a random person trying to look for a fight. Though he was very amazed by your strength, he wanted to fight you for eternity.
You were fighting him for hours, desperate to kill your former lover in which you believed that he was a cheater. One of Akazaâs Air Technique attacks hit your mask, shattering it to pieces. He halted all his movements when he saw your face, his non-beating heart dropped to his stomach.
Was that really you? Was he fighting his beloved this entire time? âY/N? Why are you doing this and where were you this whole time? He questioned.
âBecause we had such good times together so I thought we would be together for eternity but I couldnât have been anymore wrong.â You said with a voice filled with disgust and hatred, running towards him with a lighting speed, tackling him on the ground.
Akaza was still stunned by your words, still wrapping his head around everything. âWhat the hell are you talking about? What happened? Did someone manipulate you into believing something that is not true?â He said, refusing to attack you, all he wanted now was for you to be your normal self again.
You grab him by the throat, looking into his eyes with a sinister smile on your face. âYou reap what you sow, Akaza.â
As Akaza was about to question you again he felt the the sharp burning of the sun on his skin. He made the quick decision to run but unfortunately for him, you werenât gonna have that. You held him firmly in place with your immense superhuman strength, watching his flesh burn as you laughed maniacally.
He was stunned by your strength, you definitely gotten stronger since the last he saw you. As he was burning up he saw memories of when he was a human, remembering his old lover who he used to love when he was 18 years old.
He looked at you and smiled softly, hugging you while whispering a small âWelcome back, Koyuki..â You froze as those words caught you off guard, watching as Akaza faded away. You have no clue why but you have tears in your eyes.

Silas
âYou know, thatâs a terrible position for sleeping.â
A familiar voice roused you from your nap, and you sat up sharp in your seat, eyes groggy and hair a wild mess. Blinking behind you, you found Lucien leaning against the mantlepiece with his arms crossed, watching you with a smirk.
âFeyre stole my bed,â was all you managed to say as you rose to your feet.
âYou seem to have a habit of letting your friends sleep in your bed,â he chuckled, and you threw him a glare over your shoulder, knowing that he was thinking of the night that you had nursed his fever and allowed him to take up far too much space in your bed. You hadnât minded at the time, however, as it had allowed you to snuggle up at his chest that night, wrapped in his embrace for the first time. But now, looking at him smirking back at you in that library, you inwardly cursed yourself for ever having allowed it to happen. The memory of his rejection, of him telling you to leave after he had ignited your skin on fire, came washing back to you, and it cut as deep then as it had at the time, wounds freshly reopened to bleed once again.
âWhat are you doing here, Lucien?â You snapped, and the smirk immediately dropped from his face. âGood,â you thought. âAt least now you know that you canât just show back up here and pretend that nothing happened.â
âI have a meeting with Tamlin,â he explained quietly, all quips and hints of humour in his voice now gone. âI thought it might be beneficial if you were there.â
âYou really think Tamlin would let me in a room with you? Let alone join in on an important meeting?â You questioned, raising a sarcastic eyebrow at him. He shrugged.
âIâm sure heâll be ok with it,â he said. âOnce I tell him what itâs about.â
âHe wonât even let me and Feyre leave the grounds, Lucien,â you huffed out. âWeâre on house arrest.â
âAt least youâre allowed in the house. Tamlin isâŠtaking things very far, it would seem,â Lucien muttered, but you didnât miss the wave of concern behind that russet eye. âJust come to the meeting, please.â
You considered for a moment, studying the genuine hope in features, and finally shrugged yourself. âFine. When is the meeting?â
âThis afternoon,â he said in reply.
âIâll see you there then,â you stated blandly, turning to leave. But Lucienâs hand reached out to grab at your wrist, pulling you back. You winced at the pain that it brought to those cuts and bruises still marring your skin.
âWait,â he said. âI wanted to talk to you, before we go to see Tamlin, about what happened the last time I was here.â
âThereâs nothing to talk about Lucien,â you said, trying to keep your voice monotone and bored. âYou donât want me, and thatâs fine. Perhaps Tamlin was right, maybe you were just using me.â
He recoiled slightly, although his hands remained wrapped around your wrist. âIs that really what you think of me?â
âNo, Lucien,â you dared to say, looking back at him. âThatâs not what I think of you at all, and you know it. But Iâm having a hard time trying to come up with one reason that you would treat me that way when you were the one that made the first move.â
âY/N,â he all-but whined. He grunted, running his free hand through his hair as he slowly but surely said, in a low voice. âThere are things about me - about my past - that you donât know, andâŠI donât know how to tell you.â
âIf youâre trying to tell me that youâre not a good person, Lucien,â you huffed out. âThen you can stop because I know youâre lying. I know thatâs not true.â
âNo,â he said softly. âThatâs not what I mean. But I have done things, and people were hurt because of it. And if I had done what I really wanted to do with you, then it wouldnât be fair to you, and it wouldnât be fair to them.â
You blinked up at him, at his furrowed brows and eyes almost pleading you to trust him. Yet, you couldnât seem to allow yourself to forgive him, to give in and go back to how things were. âIf thatâs all you had to say, then I must go and dress.â
You turned again, but Lucien pulled you back once more, a little harder this time, and you yelped out in pain. Lucien retreated a step as if he had burnt himself, staring wide-eyed at you. âDid I - I didnât meant to hurt you, Iâm sorry-â
You pulled your wrist to your chest, cradling it in your other hand, refusing to meet his eye. âIt wasnât you.â
You didnât see his face, didnât see his reaction to your words, but you did see his large hands slowly and hesitantly reach forward to take your hand. You let him. His fingers gently pulled up the sleeve of your nightdress, and you grimaced when you saw the bruises, a dark, harsh purple against your pale skin, and the bright red gashes above them. He ran the pad of his thumb across the biggest of the bruises, the one made by your brotherâs thumb.
âWho did this to you?â
You swallowed harshly. âI went to ask Tamlin if he would let you come home, and he got angryâŠâ
You trailed off when you saw the anger that flashed in his eye, saw the muscles in his jaw clench in rage. âTamlin.â It came out in a growl.
âIâm fine, really-â you began, flustered.
âNo, youâre not,â he snapped, shoulders already squaring. âHe will never hurt you again, Iâll make sure of it.â
âLucien-â
âLet me handle it.â
The air inside the study was heavy and rich with unbridled fury. Tamlin leant against the desk, glaring at Tamlin, and Lucien stood across from him, jaw clenched tightly. You awkwardly stood between them, glancing from one to the other.
âWhy is she here?â Tamlin snapped, inclining his head toward you, but never taking his eyes from Lucien.
âBecause this concerns her,â Lucien bit back. âSo itâs only right that she is present for the conversation.â
âFine,â Tamlin snarled, eyes flashing dangerously, daring Lucien to step a toe out of line. âSay what you came here to say.â
âI was patrolling the Northern border and met a group of travelling lesser faeries from the Dawn Court, moving through the Summer Court,â Lucien said, glaring at Tamlin from under a low brow. With that golden eye, he looked more terrifying in that stance than you had ever known him to be, and you were thankful that you were not on the receiving end of that stare. âThey reminded me of something. Helion of the Day Court is a spellcaster.â
âWhat of it?â Tamlin growled.
âI travelled to the Day Court to see him myself,â Lucien continued. âAnd explained Y/NâsâŠproblem. He thinks he can help, and said that he had seen something similar before.â
âSo you want her to go to the Day Court alone?â Tamlin snapped. âNo way.â
âNot alone-â Lucien began, but Tamlin interrupted him.
âI am too busy to escort her.â
âThen I will take her myself,â Lucien bit back. Tamlinâs features contorted into a foul sneer, white teeth flashing, claws protruding from his knuckles.
âYou will not take her anywhere,â he hissed. âIf she must go, then I will have sentinels escort her.â
âYou would trust her safety with sentinels more than with me?â Lucien asked, lips curling into a malicious curl of disdain and irritation, and if you werenât wrong, insult. âShe would be ten times safer - twenty times - with me at her side.â
âThe sentinels can take her,â Tamlin gritted out, pushing himself from the side of the desk and rising to his full height.
âThen let the sentinels come too, with me and Y/N,â Lucien compromised. âFind those who can winnow and let them come with us.â
Tamlin snarled, but did not argue back.
âSo it is decided,â Lucien nodded. âWe will leave at the end of the week.â
Tamlinâs hot gaze snapped to you. âCan you give us a minute please?â
You glanced at Lucien, but eventually nodded and exited the room, off into the gardens to find Feyre. Lucien turned back to the High Lord. âWas there something else?â
Tamlin let out a low sigh and leaned against the side of his desk, crossing his arms across his chest. âWe have been friends for a long time,â he said. âSome would say too long. I hate to argue with you.â
âAnd I you,â Lucien nodded in agreement, but kept his firm stance, his face untelling. âAnd I appreciate everything that you have done for me, but if I am accused of what you have accused me of, then I will defend myself.â
âI understand,â Tamlin groaned. He ran a hand through his golden locks, catching his emissaryâs eyes. âShe asks about you, you know? She asked me to order you back here, and I know she speaks of you to Feyre.â
âI have to admit that I have thought about her too,â Lucien said, only wincing internally when he rethought saying it aloud. âAnd I would very much like to return home, if you would allow it.â
Tamlin cocked his head, narrowing his eyes. âI would like to trust you, Lucien, as I always have been able to before. But this-â He pushed himself off the desk and began pacing across the room, hands clapped tightly together. âI have to protect her, to protect Feyre. They have been placed in my care - they are my responsibility now. And after everything she has been through-â
âI never touched her, Tamlin,â Lucien said firmly, eyes flashing. He paused, looking at him over his shoulder. âLike I told you before, the only reason we were pretending was so that I could get messages to her from you. She had guards on her door, Tamlin, you know that.â
âI saw you with my own eyes, with your hands all over her,â Tamlin snapped.
âWe were playing a part, Tam,â Lucien said exasperatedly, voice raising louder than he meant it to. âJust like you were playing a part Under the Mountain. I did whatever I could do to keep her safe because you told me to.â
âIs that the only reason?â The High Lord asked, raising an eyebrow. Lucien paused and then sighed.
âIâll admit, over those years I came to care for her,â he said quietly. âBut I never touched her.â
Tamlinâs lips twisted in thought as he considered it, and eventually said, âFine, you can come home, and you can go with her to the Day Court.â He shook his head and ran a hand through his hair again, a nervous tick that Lucien had noticed over the years of their friendship. âBut do not, whatever you do, go into her room. Do not touch her, do you hear me, Lucien?â
âI hear you,â Lucien said, and offered Tamlin a small bow before turning to the door. He paused when he reached the doorframe and turned back to the blonde. âI know what you did to her, you know.â Tamlin blinked back at him, and Lucien could see the guilt behind those green eyes. âIf I am to keep my hands off her, then I suggest you do the same thing. Next time I wonât consider our friendship before drawing my sword to protect her.â
âAre you threatening me Lucien?â Tamlin growled.
Lucien thought for a moment before replying, âYes. I am.â And then he turned and left, ignoring the claws that protruded from Tamlinâs knuckles.
You had been unable to find Feyre, and Alis had informed you that she had gone out to explore the grounds. You didnât have the energy to run about the estate trying to find her, so instead you took yourself on a stroll around the gardens yourself, your feet taking you toward the stables and the sentinelâs training house.
The clinking of swords drew your attention first, and then the glimmer as the blades hit the sunlight. You allowed yourself to edge closer, leaning against the outside of the stables and watching as two of Tamlin sentinels engaged in a sword fight. The larger of the two - a burly, broad, and muscular man with sandy brown hair and sun-kissed skin - hit the other sentinelâs sword and pushed it down toward him. The other Fae yielded and dropped to the grass, and the sandy-haired one laughed loudly, holding out a hand for the other and pulling him to his feet.
âIs there a grudge that someone is holding that I should know about?â You called out, drawing the attention of the two sentinels. The sandy-blonde one turned and offered a low bow at the sight of you, brown eyes glinting in the sunlight.
âNo, Lady, just a bit of practice,â he chuckled as he rose, and you couldnât help but laugh too.
âWell, thank goodness I donât have to go and get my brother,â you smiled brightly.
âOh, this was Lord Tamlinâs idea,â the sentinel explained, taking a step toward me. He had forgone the golden armour that the sentinels usually wore, and instead simply wore a loose fitting white shirt and trousers, his feet bare in the grass. âA bit of friendly competition always brightens up the men.â
âAnd you are what? Their entertainer?â You chuckled, and the sentinel huffed out a laugh.
âEntertainer, no. Commander, yes,â he laughed. âBut you can just call me Silas, My Lady.â
âOh, please donât call me that,â you said. âFeyre is the Lady of the house, Iâm justâŠme.â
You glanced over his shoulder at the swords that had been abandoned on the grass post-fight. âAny tricks you might be able to show me?â You asked hopefully. Silas frowned slightly, eyes narrowing.
âI donât think Lord Tamlin would appreciate that,â he said, cocking his head to the side slightly. âWhy would a lady like you want to know how to wield a sword?â
You pushed from the wall and wandered past him. âPerhaps Iâm simply interested in the art,â you said as convincingly as you could. You reached down and picked up the sword; you had to admit it was heavier than you had been expecting, and you certainly didnât look the part to be holding it, not in your frilly floral spring dress. You glanced up to Silas again, waving the sword around before you slightly. âOr perhaps Iâd like to learn to defend myself.â
Silas took a step forward and reached for the sword. âYou donât need to defend yourself, Lady. Thatâs what weâre here for.â He moved to take the sword from my hand, and as your hand moved with it, the sleeve of your dress hiked up slightly, bringing your bruises into view. You moved quickly, ripping your sleeve down your arm, trying to will the heat that was spreading up your cheeks to dissipate. But it was too late, Silas had already seen it. He hissed through his teeth slightly.
âOn the other hand,â he said, and you glanced up at him hopefully. âIt is always good for a lady to know how to look after herself, just in case. Why donât you come here in a few days and weâll see what we can teach you. However, I think it best that we donât tell your brother about it, ok?â
âI would prefer he didnât know too,â you said, offering him a shy smile. He nodded firmly in confirmation.
âCome at sunset, yeah?â He asked, and you nodded again. He patted you gently on the shoulder, and with that returned to his men, and you walked back to the manor with a new sense of confidence.
