De-aged Danny wandering the street of Gotham as a five year old:
Batfam: hello child are you alright?
Danny: Yup! :D
Batfam: where are your parents buddy?
Danny: don’t need em. Tried to kill me
Batfam: *concerned* how about you come with us for a little while?
Danny: no thank you mister Batman, I don’t trust adults
Batfam: oh no

A Persuasive Argument - dpxdc
"Great!" Danny says, clapping his hands together to get everyone's attention. The dinner table falls silent as everyone looks towards him. It's a full house today and, honestly, Danny's a little nervous. "I'm sure you're all wondering why I gathered you here today."
"It's dinnertime. In our house." Duke mutters, while doing a very bad job of concealing his yawn. He holds his fork poised over the braised beef, but, just like everyone else, still looks towards Danny before tucking in. It's intriguing enough to wait.
"Yeah, no one misses Alfie's dinner." Dick says, with a brilliant smile that Danny can't help but return.
"Precisely! What better time to talk to you all than when you're all actually here!"
"Wait, I thought you came round to work on our English essays?" Tim asks, blinking owlishly.
"I'm afraid I've lured you here under false pretences, Tim."
"This is where I live."
"I would still really appreciate help on that essay though, I mean, what the hell is Hamlet even about? I just don't get that old time-y language, like 'Hark! A ghost hath killed me!' - absolute rubbish, what does that even mean?"
"The ghost never kills anyone in Hamlet, he's there to tell Hamlet that he was murdered. Have you actually read it?"
"No, but it sounds like you have. Tim, I want this guy to help me with my essay instead. I know for a fact that you haven't read Hamlet, either."
"So? We don't need Jason, I've read the Sparknotes."
"Hi Jason, I'm Danny, pleasure to meet you, summarise Hamlet in three sentences or less."
"Am I auditioning to help you write your essays? I can't believe you’ve gone through your whole school life without reading it, it’s good!"
"Hamlet, along with a number of other classics, was banned in our house because it portrayed ghosts as intelligent and sympathetic beings rather than evil, animalistic beasts. I didn’t even get to see The Muppet's Christmas Carol until last year with Tim! It was surprisingly good, and I hate Christmas because everyone always argued and it sucked. But we're getting off topic. I—"
"No, no, please go back to that, because what the fu—"
"Boys, please." Bruce interrupts, looking to the world as if he wants to hang his head in his hands. "Danny, you were about to say something?"
"Oh, yeah, Mr. Wayne! Thanks!"
"Please, call me Bruce."
"Well, that very succinctly brings me to my point, because I'd actually really like to call you dad."
Nobody says a word. Nobody even blinks, all as shocked as the other, watching open-mouthed as Danny pulls his laptop out from beside his chair. Bruce can definitely feel a headache coming on.
"Before you say anything, I've prepared a 69 slide PowerPoint presentation on why you, Bruce Wayne, should adopt me, Danny Last-Name-Pending. Please save your questions, comments, and verdict until the end, thank you."

Danny is the Ghost King.
About 99% of ghosts see him as the Savior, the Liberator, the one who defeated Pariah Dark. They see him as the Balance and the Guardian and the one Chosen by the Realms itself.
Basically, they hang onto his every word, praise his every action, because they believe that even if they don’t understand why he’s doing it, it is all part of a larger plan.
This has made Danny even more of a little shit, as it’s the only thing that makes his job as Ghost King tolerable. As a result, he starts to play into it a lot, saying and doing increasingly ridiculous things to try and figure out when they catch on.
(They haven’t yet. To be fair, it’s been a slow escalation.)
Danny gets so into this little game of his that when he’s suddenly gained an audience of a few people who claimed they were lost, he doesn’t stop. He points out landmarks in opposite directions of the Realms, he spins around and points in different directions as he talks, he floats and dashes all around the room.
And then he suddenly stops, looks at them again. “Wait. You’re living. Not. Not ghosts. That explains why-why you aren’t…” He shakes himself and suddenly there’s very embarrassed, very serious, but much more straightforward Danny taking charge.
(The JL were scared of this unknown. They had been trying to investigate the rumors of a new ghost king when they fell into a natural portal. They stumbled their way to the palace and realize very quickly that this is a kid.
Negotiations between dimensions aren’t that nerve-wracking once they figure that part out.)

What do you think makes Tim drake special? Aside from a death in the family moment… 🤦
“death in the family moment”? Do you mean Jason? Or are you saying that Tim was introduced because of what happened during Death in the Family? I’ll defend both Tim and Jason just in case haha
Tim Drake is special because he chose this life. Much like Barry prior to The Flash: Rebirth (2009), Tim didn’t need a tragic backstory to inspire him to go out and be a hero. He also didn’t need superpowers to become a superhero (unlike Barry). No, Tim is Robin (Red Robin/Drake) because he saw the need and didn’t wait for the vacuum to be filled, he went out and filled it. Tim believes in Batman in a way that almost no one else does. He believes in Batman’s ability to save Gotham and he understands completely how and why Batman can be that hero. He’s also unique in his equal belief in Robin. That’s why he’s so okay with not “graduating” from being Robin, because unlike so many others, he recognizes that Robin is just as important for Gotham as Batman is and it’s this intense understanding that makes him such a cool and important character.
Now for Jason, I think he’s unique because he’s the redemption story. I’m sure some people would call him a failure, but I wholeheartedly disagree. Anyone who knows anything knows that you only fail something when you stop trying and Jason has never stopped trying. No matter how horribly life and the people in it have treated him, Jason never gives up on helping others. You know all that stuff I said about Bruce caring even when he has no reason to? Yeah, Jason is every bit Bruce’s son in that. But Jason is a redeemed character through and through, he was the Robin that died, the one that was made to believe that no one wanted him, was convinced that he was a failure and yet he came back, had a bit of an evil era, and then he was redeemed. He accepted his faults and the faults of those around him and he became determined to do better or die trying.
There’s some other points I’ve made before, but I don’t want to rehash so this is all I’ll say for now haha 🫡

WAIT I JUST HAD ANOTHER THOUGHT FOR THE DISASTER MEET THE INLAWS DINNER:
okay context: so in this AU, Danny and Dan are the only ones who don't know the batfam secret. Jazz figured it out when they first moved in next door to Jason. Damian told Elle after she trusted him with the truth about being a halfa. Elle didn't tell anyone else since it was a secret Damian trusted her with, while Jazz & Jason assumed that everyone else in the Nightingale family knew and never really brought it up.
It just completely sailed over Dan & Danny's heads. Even though part of the deal the family worked out with the Spirit of Gotham is to help protect her Bats and Birds (that's why Dan ended up in Bludhaven, to help keep Nightwing safe) and they regularly (secretly) follow the batfam around during patrols and fights to help make sure nothing bad happens to them.
Which brings us to the disaster dinner where, after things have almost calmed down from the chaos and embarrassment of Elle and Damian's power point & movie, everyone is actually almost getting along. Turns out, getting horribly roasted by the two gremlins helped break the ice a bit. It's kinda hard for the Bats to hold on to as much of the suspicion for the Nightingales as before when they just watched a supercut of everyone’s most embarrassing moments from the past five years with color commentary from the Chaos Duo.
Which is to say Danny is feeling comfortable enough - with some edging on by Elle - to reveal his conspiracy theory about who Batman is, to Bruce.
Just looks Bruce straight in the eye and with his whole heart and soul asks, "So, like you're for sure Batman's sugar daddy right?"

People think Markiplier is the Red Hood.
It's turned into a hannah Montana thing people have collectively decided not to out markiplier as the red hood bc they don't want him to stop making his YouTube videoes

A pool of salt. Warm. World blurry. Not a Lazarus Pit. The author lies face down in a pool of their own tears, buoyed upwards by the kindness of a stranger.
Full disclosure, I read this at 2:30 am when I turned my phone on to grope my way to the bathroom and dismissed this message as a witching hour hallucination. I am honored it is not. Glad I'm eating microwaved can soup cause I'm gonna need all that sodium back.

wolf is definitely the catwoman to matt's batman
oooooooooooo this is such an interesting comparison. because there are a lot of similarities -- both batman and daredevil give out violent justice yet have a 'no killing' code. both catwoman and wolf are morally grey and often use sexuality to get what they want. i definitely see the similarities and cool comparison here.
yet their relationships with each other differ. it's enemies-to-lovers vs friends-to-lovers. catwoman is very much one of batman's villains (in the comics up until a certain point at least) while wolf agrees to follow matt's code of ethics because a part of her really wants to change and do better. because catwoman and batman are on opposite sides (again, most of the time in the comics), there's mistrust there. it isn't really the basis for a good relationship lol (i was never a big fan of batman/catwoman in the comics -- but i do like them a lot in the batman with battinson and zoe kravitz as catwoman). on the other hand, matt is the only person that wolf trusts. he's her childhood best friend, the closest thing she has to family, the only person she was close to before the red room changed her.
the batman/catwoman Vibe is still very much there tho
