in that scene in 12.22 when dean watches mary in her heaven, and she crouches down and smiles at the memory of her child and lies to him, tells him she’ll never let anything bad happen to him, what was dean thinking about before he said i hate you. because i think he was looking at how tiny that dean was, and thinking that’s what he looked like when he spent the final days of his childhood becoming a mother to a baby he was barely twice the size of, when his one wish in the world had been to grow up faster so he could take better care of sam, when he used to spend every day promising sam the same thing, before sam could even understand him. when all he wanted was for his mommy to come back and tell him it would be ok. and he hated her. he hated himself too, so he looked for comfort, for sam. a memory so old and fuzzy in his mothers mind that he looked like a doll, not enough green in his eyes and no mole on his cheek, because she hadn’t bothered to look close at the real sam, the living sam. so much care and detail put into the messy waves on tiny dean’s head, and barely anything for sam. he hated her. but for the first time without having to climb up the rails, he looked down at baby sammy in a crib, the crib dean had barely outgrown when it burned, and realized: you weren’t big. i was just small.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐓 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐋𝐘𝐍 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐀𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐘 almost caused an impossible amount of property damage. Numerous had minor injuries, while some were severely wounded, but overall, no deaths occurred. News reporters were at the scene, interviewing policemen, detectives, victims, and the public to inform others through television. Countless ambulances were parked nearby to help the wounded. People were divided, with numerous supporting your actions for saving them while others blamed you for the damages. Yet what made your head spin from confusion was how no one was talking about the other Spider-Man, Miguel. You knew he was there and that you weren’t imagining anything else. His ignored presence made it seem like the public never saw him, almost like a ninja undercover but a spider-man! The event covered each newspaper and channel and even started to gain more attention on online platforms. The raging public against you was making up crazy allegations in hopes you could be sued, making petitions in hopes of finding out your identity. Thankfully, it was just a small amount of them, mostly the politicians who wanted to give credit to the police. They’ve been nothing but a thorn in your side anyway, like those detectives who always tried to find any evidence on you but unfortunately found nothing.
It had been almost a full two months, and they still hadn’t gotten over it. Brooklyn Visions Academy has been closed since the incident to let students and faculty recover and rebuild the school. You, on the other hand, enjoyed the free vacation. There was no need to worry about exams or studies with the extra months off. The green creature caused a lot of damage, and the fire could’ve burned down the entire school. It was by chance that you got to save the victims, and you were thankful that Miguel showed up to help you, even if it was for a different cause.
It had been a full blast since the Spider-Man of Earth 928 invited you to join his spider-society. You learned a lot about it, as a rookie, when you started following him with the multiversal gizmo, the name of the watch. He founded it as an elite crew and began by recruiting other spider-people from other dimensions to assist him in removing anomalies, or people or things that were not intended to be in another universe.
You were shocked to see how many spider-variants he recruited before you. You believed it was already around twenty. But ever since you joined, the number of spider-men started to grow larger and larger. You met so many new friends, learning new techniques from them as well as forming new friendships. It was something you enjoyed; all of them—except for Miguel, were so much identical to you, even by personality. It created such beautiful diversity in his society, and you never felt more at home.
And for the first time in a long time, you didn’t feel so alone anymore, knowing you weren’t the only one, the only one to carry the great power and responsibility as a spider-variant.
Miguel became your inspiration. He was strong, yet he remained the very sarcastic and aloof person he was. He was a man of few words, but you wanted to learn more from him and become stronger like him. His efforts to recruit more spider-variants from various universes piqued your interest, and you wanted to help him. He occasionally allowed you to assist his multiversal policing mission as a co-leader. The multiversal gizmo he gave you would occasionally beep, as it was his only means of communicating with you from another dimension. To keep it short, you were getting the hang of this spider society and often went on missions with other spider-men.
A few of them were your age, and you grew to like them. One of them was Gwen Stacy. You found her cool for having an eyebrow piercing and for playing drums while in a band. She had pretty blonde hair with a hint of pink, but a portion of it was buzzed off, which she joked about because it happened when a spider-man from another dimension accidentally forced her to cut it. She always mentioned that Spider-Man was sweet, friendly, selfless, and such to you. Gwen was likeable and friendly as well, but at times.. seemed more tense when she talked about her problems with her dad and her best friend, Peter. She would frequently make light of it while you were concerned for her.
“But hey.. stuff happens right? Canon events and all that stuff…” Gwen would say, with an aloof yet recognizable anxious tone.
Canon events. It was the only thing you hated about the rules of the multiverse. You never had it stored in your mind, as it caused your head to hurt, your spider-senses to go haywire, and, overall, it hurt you on the inside. Every spider-man had to go through it. Even you. Every time the words canon event were spoken out of someone’s mouth, your stomach would drop slowly as you remembered your canon event.

You were in the rain, fighting your nemesis, who claimed to be the Venom of your universe. He was an extremely difficult opponent ever to beat and you often came back home limping with blood stains dripping off your shirt while you tried to hide it from your parents. You could feel their worried expressions often behind you, resulting in you feeling guilty. You just wanted to pour out your problems to a person who could understand you. You already knew friends and family weren’t the answer. In this line of work as a hero, you always act alone. Always by yourself. Aside from your worries, you could’ve sworn.. every time you could manage to escape your nemesis, it was like you were on your last days on Earth.
After hours of fighting under a monsoon in a large, dark alleyway, you could remember vividly that the rain was pouring down on both of you while you were breathing heavily, exhausted, and injured. Your wrists started to bleed out of your spider suit while you continued to shoot webs the entire time you were fighting Venom. He was tossing you around, gripping your head and smashing it through walls. You often spat out so much blood through your mask that you could remember drinking a litre full of it. Your eyes were wide and bloodshot, while your heart beat faster than a runner in a race. You clenched your fists as you felt the adrenaline in you, preventing you from giving up.
And in a fit of rage, you lost it. You remembered grabbing Venom’s forearm, gripping it so hard that you heard the host inside the creature’s bones shatter into pieces. You were silent during the entire fight; it wasn’t like any spider-variant. Usually, they’d make a sarcastic or humorous remark, but you weren’t playing around. You wanted him gone.
Venom’s limbs were tied individually to each wall of the alleyway’s buildings, as well as a tight noose formed by your webs on his neck supported by a billboard on top. He was weak for the first time in front of you. You couldn’t even take his presence anymore. You wanted him dead and gone, dismembered to the point where no one could ever find his body. You first pulled on all the webs to tighten their grip on him. They were thin enough to cut like a knife through his skin. His blood dropped down alongside the rain. After, you cut off all of them except for the one on his neck, leaving him to choke while you watched him suffer—the same criminal who killed one of your friends.
You remember him muttering your name, making you perplexed, but you were still heartless. You carelessly pulled his leg down as the venom’s skin started to melt. The gross substance ran down, staining you in the process before your eyes went wide. You quickly realized and as quick as you could, you cut the noose before his body collapsed onto yours.
“No.. no.. no… Peter, no,” you whimpered, cupping his beat-up face with your bloody glove. You quickly took off your spider mask. Tears built up in your eyes while you sniffled, and the blood from your nose dried. You caressed his cheek, moving any hair from his face in hopes of making him feel better. In his injured state, he slowly rested a hand on your soft-gloved fingers. When he saw your face, he couldn’t be more shocked. He winced as he tried to smile at you reassuringly, blood dripping from his mouth while his left bruised-up eye pulsed.
“I'm so sorry, Y/N… I.. I didn’t know you were spider-woman...” Peter blubbered, gripping your hand tighter. His hand slowly moved from your fingers to your face, cupping it as well while he wiped your fresh tears away before they could fall from your cheeks. “You’re so beautiful...” He admired you, smiling. He coughed out more blood, choking on the irony substance. He wanted to close his eyes but he hated the thought of leaving you. He tried to pull your face closer but most of his fingers were bent and broken. His consciousness drifted closer to leaving him. At least he could die in the arms of the one he truly loved.
“Parker, shut the hell up I’m getting you help, okay?! Don’t die on me!” You fussed, crying more as you wiped away the rain that poured down on his face. You brought his injured body into your arms. "No, no, no, please, Peter,” your sobs were muffled on his neck, your chest heaving as well. Your hand went to his wrist to quickly check his pulse, noticing it was already gone.
That night, a part of you died, knowing that your best friend, Peter Parker, was your nemesis and best friend all along. It was one of your canon events.

In the early hours of Earth 926-Z’s New York, you were dozing off in one of your dorm’s couches with a blanket over your chest. You were too drowsy to pay attention to your gizmo which beeped again. The gadget vibrated on your wrist before its screen automatically flipped open as it activated the portal’s access. Some of your objects started to float before the familiar colourful hexagons were summoned as they started to circle. You put a hand over your eyes, groaning when the brightness annoyed you. You tried to get more sleep until you heard footsteps. When your spider-senses buzzed, you peeked through your fingers with your exhausted eyes.
“Heeey Y/N, just thought I’d drop by,” the familiar voice said. It was Jessica Drew, one of the spider-women of the spider-society. She looked down at you, who slept on one of your dorm’s couches, tired. She chuckled at how drowsy you were; it was understandable since you were out fighting and catching anomalies with Hobie last night.
“Told ya not to get overboard,” Another familiar voice said. Your tired eyes looked up and saw the mini Lyla, Miguel’s sassy but highly intelligent AI. She flashed a smirk with her small virtual body in the air next to Jessica’s head by a few inches. She adjusted her pink, heart-shaped glasses and glitched to get closer to your eyes. She tried to lift your eyelids open with her tiny hands. Jessica took small steps around the living room, seeing how messy but organized the room was.
You grumbled and tried to shoo her hologram away. “Ughhh.. what do you want…” you groaned, turning over the couch as Lyla glitched back next to Jessica. With a flick from her fingertips, the spider-woman shot her web and pulled you up effortlessly, making you sit up on the couch.
“Y’know the girl I recruited— and your friend, Gwen?” Jessica asked, looking down on you while you hummed in agreement shortly.
“Anyway, Miguel and I assigned her for a mission in Earth 1610B to catch another anomaly—well, technically just a villain from that dimension,” Jessica explained but paused, looking back to Lyla. With a clap of her tiny hands, your room went dark as she presented an orange virtual screen that was twice as big as the coffee table. It flickered, presented someone, and then began to play as Lyla carried on.
“This guy calls himself the Spot, and he recently just caused some havoc in Earth 1610B’s Brooklyn,” the small AI said as the video continued. The villain was faceless, with a black spot in the center of his face and numerous spots all over his body. Almost like a human...faceless cow? The screen was then flipped sideways, creating a three-dimensional hologram of the strange entity. You rubbed your chin, and even though you were really tired, you couldn’t help but become curious.
The hologram flashed brighter with a slight change of colour as it became bigger. The figure collapsed from the screen as all three of you watched how the scenery changed into the broken collider from Earth 1610B that Miguel told you about. The Spot’s holographic figure flickered out of nowhere again before you heard him speak.
“Look at me— you did this to me!!” The Spot yelled, his voice becoming more and more distorted as he began to charge into the spider-man and the officer beside him. You watched as the two of them were in a fighting stance until the Spot summoned a hole by accident, getting himself kicked by, well, himself. He made a slight oof sound, knowing it would’ve hurt a lot. He took a pretty big tumble as he slid in front of the two with his jaw on the floor before another hole was created, pulling him into the black abyss. The hologram then ended, going back to being a screen.
You rubbed your eye after you finished watching, bewildered but still drained. You looked back at Jessica and Lyla; the frizzy, curly-haired woman had a serious expression on her face, watching with an austere look on the Spot. It made you slightly tense like a kid seeing their mother angry. She looked back at you before her face softened as she sighed. You cleared your throat before speaking.
"So, uh, what does this have to do with me?” You asked, scratching your head out of curiosity.
"Well, Gwen knows her way 'round that world since she got pulled into that dimension before,” Jessica explained while she started to walk around your living room, viewing the decorations with an aloof stare.
"I know 'bout her lil' friend.. Miles, right? 'm pretty sure she told you 'bout him before.” she continued, looking back at you to see what you had to say. You just nodded while you watched her slowly move around the room, running her hand gently on the surface of your tables.
“The girl’s good at combat like any other spider-variant in the spider-society. I mean, I could’ve sent her hours ago, but, y'know, Miguel.” Jessica spoke before her eyes wandered back to you. “It honestly ain’t a surprise that he doubts her but this Spot dude is starting to concern Miguel. I’ve faith in Gwen, but Miguel still insisted on bringing another spider; he recommended you.” Your eyebrows rose as the pregnant lady turned back to you She cleared her throat, and she became more serious.
“So— an order from Miguel; you accompany Gwen to Earth 1610B and the two of you make sure the operation is a success.” She rummaged through her spider-suit’s pocket and tossed you something very small. You easily caught it and saw a tiny mechanical spider, its legs tucked into its body, with a funky logo on the iron skin, You assumed Lyla fabricated it. Jessica continued to speak. “Aaaand put that device near the Spot. Just put it somewhere he can’t find it,” she explained.
You looked down on the very tiny machine. “What does it do?” You asked. “It can track the person's whereabouts through the multiverse and scan their data; pretty cool, huh?” Lyla smiled, floating around in the air. You looked back at Jess, who had a serious look, but you could tell she wanted you to join. You sighed.
“Fineeee, I’ll do it,” you responded before standing up from the couch, opening your closet nearby to get your spider-suit. Lyla easily opened up another portal, causing a ruckus as some of your furniture started to fly around again. Jessica was about to step into the large floating and orange hexagons before she looked back at you, giving you a thumbs up and fully entering the portal. It closed on you as well as Lyla, who disappeared out of thin air.
Tumblr media
You travelled through space and time, bending the laws of physics as you travelled through the multiverse with speed faster than light. It was all blurry with only space and stars passing through you as well as the hexagons that led the way. It all started to clear when the matter itself tore apart, creating a hole. You blinked once before you finally saw yourself on Earth 928. You were spawned in the middle of the lobby as you easily used your webs to maneuver around and reach the cafeteria, where you'd meet Gwen. The familiar ginormous building would make a normal person pass out of confusion but it had what every spider-variant liked; a big space to swing freely, overpasses to walk on even when upside down, training programs, and even a therapy section for the spider-people who recently got their canon event.
You landed on the floor and looked around the large space, you spotted her sitting down next to a plant with her favourite pink cardigan and her watch flipped open. You snuck behind her while she looked down on the gizmo, scaring her in the process. She suddenly yelped.
“Jesus Christ—Y/N, that scared me.” Gwen sighed, while you laughed.
“My bad— your spider-senses didn’t go off?” you asked before she shook her head. Her expression then changed into a bright one.
“Can’t believe I’ll go back again!” Gwen smiled and giggled while you gave her a smug look. She slightly blushed before coughing. “T-To catch the Spot, duh,” she responded and looked away. You playfully rolled your eyes.
“Yeah, yeah, sure,” you giggled. Your eyes wandered back to her flipped watch before they grew wide. “You serious? You got the two of you as your wallpaper too?” You teased before Gwen quickly flipped it closed, looking around frantically. It was the picture she showed you a long time ago when Gwen and her friend took a picture together while she ended up in the wrong dimension.
“Huh? Me? don’t know what you’re talking about.” She said, playing dumb before she quickly opened up another portal using the gizmo. The bright orange hexagons grew bigger and rotated very slowly. The blonde-haired girl looked back at you excitedly. "C'mon, let’s go!” She smiled before stepping in, not giving you a chance to speak.
"Geez, I guess she really misses him,” you shrugged before jumping in as well.
Tumblr media
The afro-haired teen had his headphones on, trying to relax after a small argument with his parents. Now, he’s grounded but who do they think he was? He was spider-man for God’s sake. He can’t be grounded. Miles was lying down on his bed with his arms behind his head. His eyes were closed and his head occasionally but slowly moved to the rhythm of his music, it was his comfort after all.
Yet he didn’t seem to notice some of his things started to float mid-air. They circled around his room before black bubbles and colourful light started to form just above him. The portal opened as it revealed you and Gwen. She had an excited look after seeing her friend near after two years. You, on the other hand, were just looking down, wondering when he’ll notice the two of you.
”Miles! Miles!” Gwen called out, trying to get his attention. In confusion, Miles slowly opened his eyes to the familiar voice. He thought he was seeing things until he did see Gwen. He quickly took off his headphones and sat up. “Gwen! H-How—” He stuttered, perplexed to see her after such a long time. She then dropped down next to him on his bed, her legs crossed.
“How’d you get here— oof-!” Miles tried to speak again until the blonde-haired girl quickly hugged him. He hugged her back as well, still bewildered. He then noticed you dropped down the portal as well. It closed before you landed on his floor easily, not making so much noise.
You took off your mask, revealing your face to him. You flashed him a small smile. Even though you knew why Miguel was infuriated when the name Miles would leave someone’s mouth, mostly Gwen, he was still another spider-man that you had respect for since he was Gwen’s friend. His mouth slightly gaped when he saw you.
“My bad, my bad, didn’t mean to appear all of a sudden,” you said before Gwen pulled away from the hug and introduced the two of you. “Y/N, Miles, Miles, Y/N,” She quickly said while you just nodded, His expression slightly softened as he just nervously smiled at you.
"Yeah, hi, nice to meet you,” you smiled.
“Nice to meet you too?” Miles nervously responded. Before it could get awkward between you three, you looked behind you, noticing his open bedroom window. You looked back at Gwen. “You can stay here, Gwen; I’ll handle things while you catch up with your friend,” you suggested while she stood up from the bed, puzzled.
“Wait— you sure? You know we can do that later.” Gwen said, referring to the mission, while you nodded your head, reassuring her by patting her shoulder. “Yeah, I’m sure it’s alright,” you grinned, looking back at Miles and then at her. “Don’t want to miss this opportunity, no?” You teased, your hand slowly retracting from her shoulder while she slightly blushed. You turned back to his window, jumping off his bedroom window. You shot a web from your fingertips and quickly swung yourself away. Gwen watched while Miles looked out the window, his gaze finding you as he admired how quick and talented you were at moving swiftly through the air.
“Dang, she’s good,” Miles pointed out while Gwen nodded, looking back at Miles as the two of them smiled. They were happy to see each other again after so long.
Meanwhile, you continued to swing away until you were out of sight of any civilians as you climbed up a high building. You were standing by the edge of the building’s roof, walking around as you looked over to your watch to see where this Spot could be. You sighed and took off your mask, slightly frustrated to not find anything before Lyla’s hologram appeared out of sight.
"Heeeey, Y/N, how’s the mission?” She asked with a grin, spinning on her virtual chair, which was the same size as hers. You grumbled.
“I can’t find the Spot’s location,” you admitted, sighing from how annoyed you were. “Got any idea where he could be?” You asked the AI before she hummed, thinking about it with her tiny finger tapping on her chin. Her hologram flickered before she summoned a 3D model of the entire map of Earth 1610’s Brooklyn with all of its avenues, streets and even shop names. She zoomed into the new hologram, revealing a building made out of bricks under a few overpasses. A few other shops surrounded it, as well as a small highway. Some of its windows were oddly broken and covered with a partially dirty cloth as a barrier.
The small AI manipulated the three-dimensional screen easily, zooming into the broken glass as the screen changed again. Inside the building was a messy room, with wires, confusing machines, and more technical equipment around the shelves and floor. The room was completely unorganized and clearly dimly lit.
“Looks like he worked for Alchemax before,” Lyla pointed out, taking a look at the equipment. "Even one of them has a logo," she observed as she leaned down to inspect the equipment components.
“Is this the Spot’s place?” You asked, then returned your gaze to the floating AI. She nodded her head in response.
“Scanned the area earlier when I zoomed in and saw his driver’s license on the table. It’s expired, but got his information,” she explained, her tone playful as if she found it all too easy. She then displayed a screen of an image of the Spot’s driver's license it had his name, age, address and more information. With two of your fingers, you zoomed out of that screen as you looked back at the hologram of the building, which you concluded to be his apartment. “Plus— the area’s full of dark matter,”
“I’ll get going,” you responded once you had your information, sliding your mask back onto your face before the hologram flickered to a close.
“Bu-byeeee~” Lyla grinned before her figure also disappeared. You flipped the watch back to a close before you swiftly jumped down the building and shot a web mid-air, propelling yourself to the Spot’s location.
You jumped from the tall skyscraper while shooting webs into the air to propel you into the sky without attracting any attention. The cool air hit your masked face until you descended, turning gracefully but quickly onto the roof of the building. You walked to the edge and stuck to the wall to get inside through the broken glass.
You slipped in easily as you observed the area. It was an apartment room. Though it was dimly lit, you noticed papers scattered on the table, some of them close to falling down. You lifted your mask up to your head to get a clear view of your surroundings, some of your bangs escaping to the sides of your face and forehead. With your gloved hands, you picked up the papers, skimming through them.
Reports, hypotheses, notes, and more... one thing they all had in common was a connection to multiverse matter or the concept of bringing back different entities from other universes. They weren’t all from Johnathon, aka Spot necessarily, most of them were reported by different scientists, especially from the well-known Olivia who was the head of the whole collider project back then, which caused a misbalance in the entire multiverse. You threw the papers back onto the table's surface before looking around again. You noticed some mechanics in the corner, concealed by a metallic closet. You leaned down and picked one up, noting that it also had the Alchemax logo until you noticed a small post it attached to the back. You ripped it off the mechanic, reading it.
“This isn’t the villain of the week—maybe five months, but still…” you mumbled, pulling your mask back on before you rummaged through your pockets, taking out the small spider Jessica gave you earlier. It automatically opened and summoned out its miniature legs after you tossed it against the wall. It then dug its legs into the brick and camouflaged really well.
“Gotta alert Gwen about this..” you mumbled. You quickly flicked a web out of your fingertips as it shot through the window. You flew out once again, swinging away faster and faster. You were again back in the metropolitan area, gliding through the air while your eyes wandered around trying to find Gwen. You assumed she was still at Miles’ apartment.
You swung down when you saw his apartment complex, noticing on the building’s rooftop there was loud music and lots of parked cars outside next to the road. You guessed that his family had a house party; the familiar smell of Puerto Rican food may sound good, but you knew you had to find Gwen quickly. When you landed back on the wall, you peeked through Miles’ bedroom window only to find no one inside, only Gwen left her cardigan on his bed.
“Fuck— where is that girl?” You sighed, shooting out another web atop the building beside his apartment. You gracefully landed on its rooftop before you flipped your watch open, trying to contact her. Unfortunately, it showed a hologram that said contact is on; do not disturb.
You grew more frustrated before turning the hologram to a close. You sighed and paced around on the rooftop. You wondered where she could be. Confused, you opened your gizmo back up again, speaking through Lyla.
“Hey Lyla- sorry to interrupt, got any idea where Gwen is? If so just send the coordinates, I can handle it,” you spoke as the AI’s hologram flickered again. She tried to find her location via watch but then she sighed.
“Sorry Y/N, she’s on do not disturb apparently,” the brunette replied before you grunted. “Can you turn it off?” You asked until she shook her head no. “Nah, I can’t get deactivate anything during a mission, just the policy aaand, you know, Mig’s rules,” She explained while you got more frustrated.
“How is that even a thing— what the hell..” you groaned. “Can you ask Miguel to let this be an exception?” you questioned Lyla again. “Miguel’s not in right now, busy with another mission,” she responded.
“Knew you’d say that.. always the busy guy.. whatever, thanks Lyla,” you sighed before she disappeared once more, leaving you alone once more on the rooftop. You were so frustrated by Gwen’s absence; where the hell could she be? If not with Miles then where was she? Your thoughts came to a halt when your spider-senses made you turn around. You noticed someone dressed as spider-man with a black and red coloured suit. You raised an eyebrow as you walked over to them discreetly.
They noticed you as their spider-suit’s goggles slightly widened. “Woah- you got fast spider-senses,” the recognizable voice said, staring at you.
“Wait— Miles?” You asked before he nervously chuckled and took off his mask in front of you, his Afro popping out as he looked more buff with the black spider-suit on. It matched him a lot. “What’re you doing here?” You curiously asked, also taking off your mask to see him clearly.
“Me and Gwen was swingin’ around the city and just wanted to let you join,” he responded, looking down at you since he was taller. “We didn’t get a proper chance to talk right? Just wanted to make ya feel included..” he continued, noticing how he was getting nervous when he noticed you didn’t respond.
“Sorry— kinda busy..” you mumbled, looking back down to your watch to see if Gwen finally put that stupid do not disturb function off. She unfortunately didn’t. You were always the chatty type but now wasn’t the time now that you were dealing with a soon-to-be anomaly who knows how to travel through other dimensions. Miles’ eyes softened, he just really wanted to be accepted as another spider-man or as a friend.. but you had other priorities. He was disappointed but hid it well enough, not wanting to worry you. He was silent until he had an idea in mind.
“With what? I mean I can help ya. I know Brooklyn like the back of my hand,” Miles stayed optimistic, wanting to be of assistance. You already knew about Brooklyn's map thanks to Lyla, but you could see that despite not knowing anything about you, he merely wanted to help. You could see yourself in him, as you would always strive to help Miguel in any way you could, even though he was the epitome of independence. Miles also wanted to prove his usefulness in this society Gwen just recently talked about while the two of them were swinging through the city… so he could see her more often... but oh how difficult would it be for him? He spotted the gadget on your wrist and then pointed to it.
“Yeah- uh.. pretty crazy phenomenon right? Travelling to a different universe without your atoms glitching like crazy..” you responded, showing him your wrist as he came closer.
“How’d you get this?” He asked, his hands slowly inching closer to yours to hold the watch with his fingers. You almost flinched and he noticed. Ever since your canon event, you could never rest easy with physical touch.
“You good Y/N?” He inquired, a little worried as his fingers almost retracted. You shook your head.
“Sorry, sorry— my bad, but I’m okay don’t worry bout it,” you reassured as you moved your wrist closer to him, letting him hold your hand to inspect the watch. “As for how I got it.. from where we’re from, we earn them,” you answered truthfully. His hand moved from your forearm to your hand, gently holding it up. You also couldn’t help but notice how his thumb slowly caressed your knuckles, was he trying to be nice or was it just out of habit? You definitely had no clue.
“Who gave it to you?” Miles replied, still holding your hand delicately. He seemed so interested in its design and advanced technology on the orange screen. It resembled to nothing from his dimension nor has he seen anything like it. So small yet intriguing.
“My mentor, Miguel O’hara,” you answered. “He’s like the leader of the entire spider-society Gwen and I are in. It’s pretty cool if you ask me,” you rambled, sharing more than enough.
“Gwen never told me about it..” He muttered, carefully tapping a few buttons to see its functions. You couldn’t see his expression since his head was down, still looking at the screen, before he faced you with a small smile. “What’s it gonna take for the Miguel O’hara to meet Miles Morales?” The tall black teen joked but genuinely asked. You on the other hand didn’t know what to say. There was an explanation for why he couldn’t join but you didn’t want to cause any trouble between the two of them. You gulped down the built-up saliva in your mouth out of nervousness.
“I mean.. if you tryna join… how about we try to catch some criminals on the way while we try to find Gwen? I’m not like- fully certain but maybe after I can put in a good word?” You suggested to try and change the topic as you put your forearm down once he was done inspecting the gizmo. Miles’ smile grew, he wasn’t opposed to the idea and wanted to get to know you better. “Sure, why not? Watch me put ‘em in place,” He replied with a confident smirk before you chuckled.
Your watch then beeped. Your back faced him as you turned around to check what news it had for you. The spider that camouflaged into the wall was recording the Spot’s messy apartment and analyzing his figure. You turned it into a mini hologram, watching in full effect what was happening in that room.
The Spot was walking around in his room, moving box from box to a specific area with mechanics and more collider parts you recognized.
“Oh shit..” you cursed under your breath when you saw how close he was to building the mini-collider.
“Everything okay?” Miles asked, about to peek over your shoulder before you quickly moved away. He slowly retracted, noticing how you flinched as if you were uncomfortable, but you weren’t focused on him anymore.
“Gotta go for now Miles, we can fight those criminals later alright? Sorry ‘bout the trouble,” you apologized quickly as you then put your mask back on. You approached the ledge of the rooftop and were about to jump off the building to swing to the Spot’s location immediately. A frustrated and concerned look was on Miles’ face. The young spider-man just wanted to help yet you continued to push him away. With an annoyed expression, he watched you leave so quickly with your webs. You were so quick, agile and so elegant in the air that he could tell you were much more experienced than him despite being the same age.
Once he was far enough for you to notice, he shot webs and swung himself in your direction almost immediately. It started to get dark as his black spider-suit blended in well with the atmosphere. The black lenses on his mask narrowed as he was more focused on catching up on you. Miles wasn’t dumb enough to believe that Gwen didn’t come back just to visit him, there was at least something else you and her had to worry about.
He saw you shooting out multiple webs under a metro railway from your fingertips as you pulled yourself up with the almost transparent strong strings. Like a flash of light, he saw you dash through in between a train’s cabins. Miles almost thought you got run over until he swung over the railway, you weren’t there like you disappeared. “Damn this girl’s fast…” Miles grumbled, trying to retrace his steps while looking around to try and find you. His stomach dropped at the thought of you finding out he was following you so he turned invisible quite easily just to make sure.
Even when invisible, it seemed like you didn’t let your guard down at all as he still couldn’t find you. He kept asking himself where you could possibly be or why you were here in the first place. There was something wrong but he had no clue of what it could be. He tried to retrace your steps by finding your webbing but they all disintegrated too fast. They’d all fall on the ground and slowly disintegrate since you were in the wrong universe. Frustrated, he almost thought of turning back and going back home until he noticed someone swing through the air as well. He saw the familiar spider-suit, it was Gwen.
Her mask concealed her face as she landed near a pillar supporting the overpass close to the Spot’s apartment. A few meters away, Miles landed on top of a street lamp, discreetly looking at the situation beforehand. There were corps surrounding the apartment with lights flashing to the holes in the walls.
“Shoot..” Gwen mumbled under her breath, in worry she was too late. She rapidly shot a web into the police officer's car, causing it to reverse before swinging inside the building with ease. Miles, on the other hand, quickly followed.
Inside the apartment was a whole mess, messier than before like a tornado merely broke down the building. Gwen stepped inside, looking around to find out what happened with a concerned look behind her mask. She then proceeded to scan the area using the multiversal gizmo while Miles hid behind the air ducts, making sure he wasn’t under the orange light that could point him out.
She looked around, noticing the Spot’s personal belongings like a portrait with Olivia, the spiders he brought from different dimensions, and such. When the scanning was finally complete, the spider-woman then started to replay the entire scenario. The orange light orbs turned back in her direction as they flickered a display of holograms in front of her to show what just happened. “Oh no no no..” She mumbled under her breath as she watched the scene play out visually while Miles carefully eavesdropped.
“Just need to get somewhere with a full-sized giant collider..” The Spot talked to himself as he continued to assemble his small micro-collider. It started to power up, creating dark energy from its sources. “Alriiiight, this’ll work, it’ll be good!” The faceless human optimistically said as he prepared to put his index finger into the dark matter the mini-collider was forming. He whistled as he was about to put it in until he stopped. “Or- I don’t know, might vaporize me and this entire building, which would not be good” He carelessly shrugged.
“Oh shoot..” Gwen muttered while Miles continued to watch as well, witnessing how far his villain of the week was going just to defeat him. They saw how he was getting so close to inserting his finger through the dark hole until multiple webs were wrapped around him, quickly taking him down.
You swung through the mess as you appeared just in time before the Spot could ruin himself with the dark energy. With a quick tug of your webs, you pulled him up from the floor and threw him at the other side of the room with only your hand. The Spot was launched back, breaking multiple walls in the process before he groaned in pain and looked up at you. “Wait— huh? Spider-man? But a woman?” he asked, perplexed as he thought you were his original nemesis. You had your back turned, paying attention to the collider more than him.
“Fuck this is dangerous..” Your eyes narrowed at the sight of the dark matter almost consuming the entire mini-collider, making it impossible to turn it off or break. You were about to inspect it until a sudden punch to the stomach made you nearly spit out saliva out of your mask. It just came out of nowhere through the black hole in front of you. You grunted when you realized it was all Spot’s doing.
“Yeah— sorry, can’t turn it off now huh?” the Spot laughed before it teleported so quickly behind you. His arm then made its way to your neck before he lifted you off the ground, making you choke. “Let go of me weirdo!” you yelled and rapidly kicked him off of you, causing him to almost lose balance. He growled under his breath, sick and tired of being tossed around like a weakling.
Creating a portal, he aggressively punched you through it before you stepped back once it hit your stomach again. He teleported back in front of you when you knelt down and held your stomach in pain. You tried crawling away until he grabbed your neck and shoved you down the floor repeatedly. “I’m tired of being treated like a fucking joke.” He spat as his voice turned deep, distorted and twisted. You winced, trying to push him off with your hands until he gripped your wrists as well. He saw how you had a weird watch on your wrist until his attention turned to the small gadget.
“Ohhh.. what’s that? Pretty interesting..” He sarcastically pointed out before he punched its screen. “Oops,”
“N-No!” You screamed when you saw its screen broken. The gadget started to malfunction, making distorted sounds as well.
“N-nnggh.!” You yelped when he choked you while lifting you up again. He threw you to the wall as you landed on top of the table full of collider parts that pierced through your skin. The Spot then turned back to the mini collider, shoving his hand into the dark energy. It started to absorb him as it generated more spots on his body. You tried to shoot webs to pull him back from the dark power until he was completely absorbed, pulling you into the void as well.
“Shoot..!” Gwen widened his eyes in fear as Miles continued to watch your hologram get sucked in by the dark matter. Once you were pulled in, the replay was complete.
“Oh shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot!” The spider-woman panicked, realizing how bad the situation was. You were in another universe, with no gizmo to help you call for backup nor any help. It was only a matter of time until you would suffer from glitching.
‘Y/N..’ Miles thought of your name, concerned and puzzled of why Gwen was panicking like crazy. She was shaking her head, trying to deny that wasn’t what happened until she took off her mask, breathing heavily out of panic.
With a problem like this, she definitely didn’t know how to solve it..
Tumblr media
You blinked in and out of consciousness before you tried to get up only to collapse back to the floor when your back ached. You looked behind you and saw what you were crashed into, a truck. You looked up as you saw it was raining steadily. That was weird, you don’t remember it already raining when you just collapsed for a minute.
Once you managed to sit up, you realized this place wasn’t familiar at all. You shot a web as you landed on top of a building where you could see everything. But in the end, you didn’t understand.. why was the billboard Japanese.? Or why were there so many Japanese commercials on the skyscraper screens?
“Where am I?”

Day 7 - Public Sex
Shao Kahn x F!Reader (please read warnings: noncon)
Tumblr media
Captured by Shao Kahn and forced to be his newest concubine, reader is put on display in Shao's Koliseum for the Kahn's enetertainment !!Warnings!!: Nonconsensual Sex, Nonconsensual Bondage, Rough sex, Gags, Nipple Clamps, Public Sex, Shao fucks you in the Koliseum, Shao Kahn is his own warning
Y/n felt a hand slowly come to rest on her head, thick fingers carding through her hair, and she had to force herself to remain still. She had learned the hard way that she couldn’t break the chains and straps that held her captive and struggling would only make her situation worse. She shivered as those fingers curled around the loose strands, tugged ever so slightly, forcing her head to jerk back.
She gasped at the cascading wave of pain-pleasure that shot through her, coming together at her core, thighs trembling to keep her upright as she clenched around the toy in her cunt. If she could’ve, she would’ve glared at her captor when she heard him chuckle, clearly enjoying the spectacle she made. His hand stroked her head soothingly, feigning sympathy that she knew he didn’t actually feel. She heard cheers in the crowd, drawing her eye to the spectacle in front of her and reminding her how truly vulnerable she was; captive of the great Shao Kahn, emperor of Outworld.
She couldn’t be sure how long she’d been here, days blurred and melded together, though she thought maybe it had been a few weeks at most. She had been careless, falling into his trap as his forces ravaged earthrealm and dragged before him as a spoil of war. She remembered that first day, fighting tooth and nail as he’d staked his claim on her body, carving out a place inside of her so deep that she wasn’t sure she remembered a time before him. She’d left marks, more than a few cuts and bruises, even sure she’d broken his nose, but there was no escape. He was stronger, faster, and had simply waited for her to tire herself out, before brutally fucking her against his throne. He’d laughed at her pleas for mercy, delighted by her desperate begging for him to stop, to be gentle.
He had other concubines that could serve him, she’d seen many of them in the last few days, but he’d kept her at his side exclusively since that first time. She had been stripped bare, trussed up in golden chains and sheer silks that did nothing to hide her most private areas. She spent most of her day at his feet, a delicate chain attached to the leather collar fitted around her throat, leading up to the arm of his throne. Most of the time her hands would be cuffed as well after she’d nearly choked the Kahn with that said chain. Shao Kahn had praised the attempt, then had spanked her until her ass was on fire before making her ride his cock for the rest of the evening. She hadn’t been able to sit at all the next day.
Today, Shao had been particularly sadistic in how he’d trussed her up, saying he needed her nice and pretty to decorate his seat in the Koliseum. He had watched as his servants had arranged her to his specifications. She had been fitted into a full body harness, straps around her neck, torso, and legs in regular intervals that also served to immobilize her. Her arms were bound tight at her back, forcing her to sit upright, shoulders rolled back and straining. Her legs were spread at her sides, calves bound to her thighs so that her cunt was on full display. They’d placed her to the left of his throne and she groaned, resigned to being uncomfortable, but not quite the torture she’d expected when he had been fucking her this morning, whispering vaguely about the plans he had for her later.
The smirk that curled his lips when she looked at him had made her blood run cold and she knew then that he wasn’t done. Another servant had stepped forward and before Y/n could get a look at what he was holding, she felt cold fingers pinching her nipples, forcing them to stiffen. She cried out in shock, unused to Shao Kahn allowing his servants to touch her like this. Only one had tried and he’d been dead before Y/n could react. He pulled his hands away quickly, seemingly satisfied and then Y/n yelped as he attached a clamp to one nipple, then the other. She had started to struggle then, shouting and begging for them to stop, but she couldn’t move, couldn’t escape, could only cry and beg as they attached chains from the ends of the clamp to the collar of her harness.
“Gag her as well. I don’t need her interrupting the entertainment later. She’s only here to decorate my throne after all.” Shao smirked, his hand reaching down to adjust himself under his loincloth as the servants gagged her. She’d forced herself not to cry as they forced a dildo into her cunt and a plug into her ass, applying lube with the same detached precision. A final chain had been attached to the loop at the back of her collar, chained to the back of Kahns’ throne, forcing her head to remain upright. Every shift of her weight or attempt to relieve pressure on her legs or back tugged at the clamps and she would clenched with each zing of pleasure. It was torture. She’d been in a constant state of arousal for most of the morning and her muscles ached to be let free.
She would have worried about the harness cutting off circulation, but every time the pins and needles in her legs had faded to true numbness for several minutes, Shao would trail his hands down to her neck and press his hand flat between her shoulder blades. A pulse of green energy would shoot through her, revitalizing her muscles and she’d have a few minutes of respite before the torture began again. At least Shao wasn’t looking to cause her permanent damage, though Y/n wondered if it would be preferable to being his, for lack of a better term, slave.
The current kombatants fighting to entertain their emperor were particularly brutal, savaging each other without finesse or care for their own injuries. It was hardly what she’d consider a good fight, and Shao must have felt the same as she could feel the weight of his gaze on her. She could hear him shifting behind her, felt his hand wander lower, caressing her skin as he went. About the only care he’d given to her comfort was ensuring there was shade to protect her from the sun. He preferred her skin soft and unburnt, had stated as such while she had been arranged beside his throne.
“You look especially beautiful today, my pet.” Shao grunted. It was the first he’d spoken since the fighting had started and it made her whimper, drool leaking out around the gag in her mouth as she tried to protest. He chuckled at the attempt. “These fights are just a warm up for the true spectacle that’s set to begin, but it’s fine if the entertainment is… lacking.” He leaned over the arm of his chair, hand slipping over her shoulder, toying with one of the clamp chains and making her moan as each pull sent a pleasured jolt through her sensitive nipple. “Not when I know everyone is looking at you, wishing they could see how beautiful you look right now. Flushed and trembling, wishing for something better than that pathetic toy to fill your aching cunt.” Y/n closed her eyes, breath growing shallow as the undercurrent of arousal she’d felt since the clamps were placed became a tight ball, growing with each gentle tug of Shao’s hand. She would have argued if not for the gag, but it didn’t stop her body from reacting to the sensations she felt. Like a whip being cracked, Y/n felt the tension release from the chain binding her to Shao’s chair. She would have pitched forward had Shao not had his hand wrapped around her, taking her weight. She felt his other hand join the first and he lifted her from the ground easily, settling her in his lap.
“You’ve done so well,” Shao’s hands trailed up, toying with her breasts as Y/n sagged back against his chest, squirming despite the way the chains pulled. Shao licked a stripe up her neck, teeth biting into her just under her ear as his hands explored every dip and hollow. He began removing the straps one at a time, each coming away until only the collar and arm bindings remained. As her legs came free she felt them slide into the seat on either side of Shao’s meaty thighs, sinking her lower onto his lap as he reached around to begin lazily pumping the dildo seated inside her cunt. “Time to give you a reward.”
She couldn’t do anything as Shao Kahn freed his cock from its confines, ripping the toy from her pussy and plunging his cock inside her to the hilt in a single thrust. She screamed, sound muffled by the gag as she felt him bottom out inside her. The fake cock he’d chosen for her had been just big enough to press against the sweet spot inside her, but it wasn't nearly as long or thick as Shao’s. More drool dribbled down her chin as he began to rock up into her, barely giving her time to adjust as he used his immense strength to lift her up and pull her down onto his cock like she was little more than a toy herself.
He set a rough, greedy pace, chasing his own pleasure with no care to her comfort or pleasure of her own, but the sheer size of him meant that every thrust rubbed deliciously against her walls, meant he hit that sweet spot every time regardless of the angle and soon enough Y/n was close to spilling over the edge. The speed and force of his fucking had her breasts bouncing around, the clamps tugging and pinching and sending wave after wave of arousal through her nerves and she screamed as she spilled over, her hole squeezing him tight, drawing him impossibly deep, and he tipped over right after, fucking her through their combined pleasure as he filled her up with his seed.
“Ah, finally, our esteemed ‘guests’,” Shao spat the word as he pulled her off his cock, uncaring of his own nudity. He forced her to settle on his lap, legs still straddling his thighs so her entrance was on full display. When he looked down he could see his cum oozing out of her fluttering hole.. “I hope you appreciate your special audience.” His voice dropped low, ensuring only she could hear him.
At the sight of earth realms champions making their way into the Koliseum Y/n jerked, causing the chains to tug painfully and making her breasts bounce. She was flushed and overstimulated and she whined as the clamps continued their assault on her sensitive flesh.Her friends spotted her immediately; how could they not when Shao had ensured she was front and center, showing her off like his prized possession, his cum leaking out of her everyone to see.
She couldn’t hear what was said over the sound of blood rushing in her ears. Her face burned with shame and humiliation, tears pooling in the corners of her eyes, as she was forced to stare at her fellow warriors as they voiced their outrage. Shao merely laughed, his booming voice daring them to come and rescue her even as his hand drifted lower., resting just above her pussy. She could see the war on their faces, ranging from anger, to despair, to a resigned sort of pity. Shao merely laughed at their helplessness.
“I suppose, if Earthrealm wins, you may have this one back, Raiden.” Shao sneered, fingers trailing down to pinch her clit so she’d squirm against him. She felt his cock stirring again, her eyes widening in panic as it pressed along her slick entrance. “Until then, I think I’ll continue to enjoy my newest concubine. Choose your first champion. Let’s see if you can win this time.” Shao lined her up with his cock, sliding in with a groan as he forced himself back inside her tight channel. Y/n let out a sob as Shao settled into her with a satisfied sigh.
“Round one, fight!”

My Complete Thoughts on RvB: Restoration
Major spoilers for the entire season below the cut!
I think the biggest sin of this season was not clarifying when it takes place, as it cheapened a lot of the twists by genuinely confusing me or contrasting information that we had already been given in S15-S18. Keep this in mind for the rest of the review.
Maybe the allusion to Caboose’s voice being “misremembered” was confirmation that it was in fact a simulation post-S13, but it still wasn’t super clear to me. Especially since Dylan was talking about the Reds and Blues (even though I know they met post-S10), which kinda made it feel like Restoration could be post-S18 (unless that was the point). There was just enough ambiguity that it really could have gone either way for most of the movie.
I feel like the humor was a bit off?? Maybe it was a generational gap since the show was going back to someone who hasn’t written for it in a while and is older than the current writers (case in point: he used tropes that Gen Z makes fun of a lot, e.g. he’s right behind me isn’t he). The Zoom call bit also went on WAY too long. The metacommentary about the changing attitudes toward RT also felt a bit tone deaf. In general, a lot of the trademark RvB banter just felt stale, it was the more general dialogue that was stronger (though Church telling Caboose to shut up when Simmons was talking did make me laugh).
Also, Grif was so angry all the time at the beginning?? Felt out of character and took me out of those early scenes. Maybe it was a setup for the whole discharge subplot but it just felt… off
The writing was just a bit clunky at the beginning, felt very direct and exposition-y, but that might be because they had so much to cover in so little time. It resolved itself later, anyway (except for the rapid fire ending, there was so much to unpack there).
Alright enough complaining about the general format, here are my more detailed thoughts.
Sheila!!! That is all.
I can excuse Caboose secretly speaking Spanish the whole time because there was a bit in S16 (maybe 17? can’t remember) where he understands something that Lopez said.
I initially completely missed the fact that the Meta’s color scheme was an allusion to Felix, that is so fucked up. Tucker dressed in the colors of the man he hates the most about to kill his closest friends? Jesus.
The Director being Epsilon’s therapist in the YouTube video made me laugh really hard.
Speaking of therapists, Wash was patient 619-B and I think that was the Counselor’s voice. Is the implication that he survived in this timeline?? Because he died before Epsilon fractured himself, so that much should at least be set in stone. Not really clear on that.
The “Great Destroyer” thing felt a bit retcon-y, but I can get behind it well enough.
I got so excited when 479er showed up, glad that we got confirmation that she made it out of Recovery okay. Wish we could’ve seen her and Wash (and Carolina) interact though.
I wish they had done Sarge’s death a bit differently. Kinda wish he hadn’t been all “that worked out well!” only to be stabbed, it felt very “he’s right behind me isn’t he” and made the fact that he was about to be stabbed obvious from a million miles away. There’s definitely something to be said about him sacrificing himself for a blue, and the deathbed interactions he had with the others were really good, but it kinda just felt like shock value?? Like there wasn’t enough build up to the payoff, it just kinda seemed like he decided to save Caboose last minute without any major character motivations or development behind the decision.
Which is another thing, it felt like it relied a LOT on Red vs. Blue dynamics in the beginning, and I was fucking flabbergasted when they actually left Caboose behind. The same people who broke time to save Wash would just leave Caboose to die like that? No way.
Meta!Tucker felt like it wasn’t explored enough, mostly just “no I won’t do your bidding” and “yes you will” back and forth with no real depth. However, credit where credit is due, I LOVED how this gave us a new perspective to Maine’s descent into madness. That ten-years-of-torture-in-a-few-seconds thing? So fucked up. Can you imagine being tortured by the remnants of your best friend, who have zero regard for your well-being? If they did all of that to Tucker in the short time they were together, just imagine what they did to Maine to get him to the point he was at at the end of S10/by Recollection.
Bonus points for the fact that the fragments tortured Tucker without a second thought when they themselves are a result of torture. They seemed to spare no empathy for Tucker despite having been through this themselves. Then again, I suppose they are they are copies of the original Leonard Church, who had no such qualms.
Didn’t realize that Meta!Tucker was voiced by Miles Luna (aka Felix’s voice actor) until the credits, that was an extra layer of fucked up and I loved it.
I really enjoyed Wash’s plot for the most part. I was definitely super intrigued the whole time since so much of his subplot didn’t add up from his perspective. I mean, I think he deserved something more for a send-off since most of his arc wasn’t really related to his character as a whole (besides the freelancer thing at the end). However, I still enjoyed it for what it was worth.
Additionally, if this is post-S13, I wish they’d clarified because I assumed that Wash was suffering from cerebral hypoxia and not some other injury. They kept alluding to something that happened on Chorus, but I wasn’t clear on the fact that it was a separate timeline of events. The Doc plot twist threw me off a lot more as a result.
I could tell he was gonna launch himself off the cliff and it still made me laugh hysterically.
I’m glad that the final battle was in Blood Gulch. It’s cliché, but it felt full-circle. Plus, it was the best resting place for Sarge in canon and a good set-up for a “why were we here” moment.
I knew Simmons was gonna have his arm broken but I still gasped anyway. And when the shotgun was cut in half??? Bro my jaw was on the floor, it was like when John Wick’s dog was killed (probably, I’ve never seen that movie). But the way Simmons cocked the shotgun with one hand was badass as hell, good for him.
I’m glad we got something resembling a Simmons character arc? I think it relied a lot on setup from previous seasons of him becoming a leader, with little to no actual development in S19 itself, but it still felt at least decently satisfying.
“Best throw ever. Of all time” made me laugh, I love a good callback. Actually, there were a lot of fun callbacks to jokes, like the irony bit. They were greatly appreciated.
Tucker getting launched by a warthog actually made me laugh really hard, I love the “shotgun as a code word” bit so much.
The Tex plot twist was SO GOOD, I totally didn’t see it coming. Much better direction to go anyway, since we already put Church to rest in S15. So glad that Caboose was able to get his moment in the spotlight and have the smartest plan of all of them. Unless it was Church’s plan, in which case I find it so sweet that he wanted to bring Tex back instead of himself (even if it did cheapen the S9 “let her go” thing a bit). I also really loved the callback where her armor turned black because of the teleporter, that was really good.
I got so excited when they started playing Round One I’ll be honest. Also, I Say Ooh?? Was not expecting that one.
In all honesty, I didn’t love the soundtrack (kinda felt stock music-y and cliché in a lot of parts, plus it didn’t have the musical style that we’ve come to expect from RvB). It was fine, but nothing to write home about. The campfire song was good too. I know about the whole thing where Trocadero wouldn’t join on unless everyone was brought back on, and now that we know that RT is shutting down, it’s possible that this was because multiple musical artists just weren’t in the budget. That said, it’s a shame that there weren’t more original songs.
I called that Carolina was gonna be Recovery (though now I think about it, why was she doing Recovery?? was it even Recovery since Charon had been shut down??? What happened to her after Chorus???? Also her talking about how her and Wash would do everything together from now on meanwhile she left him behind in some hospital?????). Anyway, the fight with her and Tex was SO fan service-y but I ate it up anyway, good for them.
Tex winning because she was a collection of the Reds and Blues’ memories and she always won against them was so, so good, something to be said about the positive nature of the memories of your friends (I mean just look at how happy they had been when recounting everything they’d been through!)
Also if just talking about someone was enough to create a functional AI, it kinda makes the whole “torturing Alpha to make more AI” thing totally pointless and retcons the entire show but. Whatever.
TEX DESERVED THIS ENDING!! I like the S9 ending in a lot of ways, it was poetic that she was finally allowed to rest after being dragged back so many times against her will, but I think it also felt incomplete because I don’t know if being put to rest was what Tex herself would actually want. There is a significant difference between not electing to bring her back again and choosing to take her out of the fight. Tex was never allowed to make her own decisions, not even in S9. This ending was entirely on her terms, which I think was fantastic.
I loved the rockslide, it reminded me a lot of the ice fight from S8 was just generally very fun.
It’s established that Tucker became the Meta because he had several AI when just two was enough to almost kill Carolina. If this isn’t the canon timeline, then why didn’t Tucker become the Meta in that one? For a reason besides “the writers didn’t think of it”.
I hope that Burnie came up with the idea for this season by reading Meta!Tucker fan fiction.
The Doc thing was so??? Why did they do a Sixth Sense. Like I think that twist would have worked a LOT better if they made it clearer when this took place (I kept flip flopping on whether this was an alternate timeline post-S13 or main timeline post-S18 up until this point, which made the whole Doc-died-on-Chorus thing feel like it came out of nowhere since, if it was post-S18, we knew that Doc survived Chorus. It also makes Epsilon’s sacrifice to get them all out of there feel a bit cheaper since they didn’t all get out of there, but maybe that suggests that S15-S18 are the main timeline).
How did Doc heal Wash’s leg?? Was it even broken in the first place??? Did they ever clarify that????
I GASPED when the Freelancers showed up. It was camp as hell and hard to take seriously but also I don’t even care. I’m glad he got some kind of goodbye, since he was always too late to do so as a Recovery agent.
Kinda funny that Wyoming wasn’t there but Florida was, and also South was there even though Wash murdered her in cold blood. Anyway.
When One showed up I felt every emotion I think
Bro where the hell was Donut? There was no good reason for him not to at least show up, maybe on the pelican with One or something. Especially since S16 and S17 were dedicated to an entire arc about how everyone should stop disrespecting Donut, like come on.
Edit: did a little research and it might be because there’s no pink armor in the game this season was filmed in? Which is so hard to believe, since Halo has so many references to RvB. I can’t believe they would just cut out the armor colors of one of the main characters and make it impossible for him to return in the way we know him, it’s messed up.
I know time was short, but I wish we had more time to explore Tucker’s feelings post-Meta. Especially since he killed Sarge, even though it definitely wasn’t his fault. There probably wasn’t enough time to get into all that, but still, he seemed remarkably fine after everything that had happened. I guess that kind of exploration is what AO3 is for lol.
I have mixed feelings about the end for Tex and Church. On one hand, Tex calling herself Allison Church was so sweet and I loved how caring she was, it reminded me of when she said goodbye to Alpha during the Freelancer saga. Also, the fact that there was finally a Church free of the memories of his predecessors felt very satisfying. However, I kind of wish that they could have just had their happily ever after and stayed in the memory unit. I understand the decision—destroying the remaining AI was really the best way to make sure Project Freelancer was put to rest forever—but I kinda feel like she and Church deserved better than simply being put down after everything they’d been through.
One final team kill for Caboose. Ow.
The animation was really, really good!! It looked much better than that plasticky look the trailer had. I didn’t love Epsilon’s animations (they felt a bit jerky and overacted), but otherwise I think they did a really great job. I especially loved how they animated the AI on Tucker’s visor, it looked cool as hell.
I think one of the things this season suffered from was the overall tonal shift in the writing. Burnie hadn’t written for, and Matt hadn’t solely directed, a season in a LONG time. We’ve come to expect more character-focused narratives that dive into the nuisances of the characters and their relationships, and we didn’t really get that here (unless you count Sarge’s deathbed confession to Grif that he was hard on him because he wanted him to be more, which still felt a bit shallow. Actually, there are lot of things which could be considered set-ups in retrospect, but their intended payoffs didn’t feel like payoffs). I think there was a consequential whiplash as compared to what we have come to expect from RvB, and while the writing style we got wasn’t inherently bad (again, I liked a lot of it), it was definitely different.
I really, really hated that Grif left at the end. That’s literally the antithesis of his S15 arc, which felt much more complete and true to the character than this one. It’s impossible not to compare these arcs because of how inherently similar they are, and because I believe the S15 arc is superior (Grif’s exhaustion was a more subtle and believable reaction than this Grif’s raw anger, and his realization of how much he relied on his team was much more powerful than this Grif just tapping out), it makes the S19 Grif arc feel poorly thought out.
Also, he wanted to be discharged, but I don’t think they worked for the UNSC or any other military organization after Chorus since they all retired, so was any of that really necessary? Maybe retirement is just a vessel, so to speak, to represent Grif leaving adventure behind him for good. Still, I liked the way S15 handled this arc a lot more.
Vale Deah. Ow.
NO GRIMMONS??? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???
The most we got was Grif leaving and asking Simmons to come with him but like. “not scared to take risks my ass”, Burnie.
Honestly, I think this season was a victim of its format. Eighty minutes isn’t a lot of time to properly send off these characters, especially when RvB as a format is based on multi-season arcs. There just wasn’t enough time to build up tension or explore the dynamics of something as extreme as Meta!Tucker in a way that would feel satisfying. That said, I think Burnie did a pretty good job fitting as many things as he did into this format. A part of me is almost glad that Grimmons wasn’t made canon? I feel like it might’ve felt rushed to give it a satisfying arc in just 80 minutes in addition to all of the other shit going on, and I think after 21 years they deserved at least a satisfying resolution. However, they did NOT deserve an ending which implied that they would never see each other again, what the fuck.
TL;DR? 7.5/10. Far from perfect, and there were a lot of creative decisions made that I heavily disagree with. However, they did a lot right, too, and it still seems heartfelt in a way that helps me overlook some of its flaws. Overall, I enjoyed this season for what it was worth. There are some qualities of S17 that I think made for a better final goodbye to these characters, and some qualities of S19 that I think made for a better goodbye (in all honesty I never finished S18, but it wasn’t really a “goodbye” season anyway). Wrapping up a 21-year-old series is very difficult, and I have a lot of respect for Burnie and the others who worked on Restoration for what they put together. Truthfully, I’m gonna pick and choose which segments of S17 and S19 are canon in my heart (S17 is still the overall canon ending for me), but I’m happy with what we got in the end.
Anyways, I’m happy to chat more in the replies, let me know your thoughts!

Hero Inuyasha falls in love with villain kagome au
Modern/superhero au
Oh boy. This was fun and so challenging, mostly because I can’t imagine Kagome being a villain in any world! It’s short and vague, but I enjoyed it. Hope you do too!
When she fired another shot at him, it barely missed his shoulder but the energy burned through his clothes. He hissed as the magic seared his skin.
That was a first.
For a second even she seemed startled, but when he glared at her she quickly turned around and attempted to flee. While she wasn’t really a fighter, she had enough tricks up her sleeve to keep him away.
“Not today!” Inuyasha growled, chasing after her. There was enough distance that she might get away, but he was faster and stronger.
It’d been six months of trying to follow her trail, and he felt himself getting so close. She must have felt it too, because her last attacks were getting sloppy; desperate.
In their earlier encounters, she’d never tried to do more than pin him down so she could escape. As he began closing in she was forced to resort to other methods, breaking out powers she hadn’t before. He knew she could erect temporary barriers and could fire arrows made of energy. Then there was her getaway. Given enough time, she could open a portal in the ground and somehow disappear. It was how she slipped away every single time. Even his high-powered nose couldn’t detect her once she went through it.
Tonight was going to be different. After months of learning how she operated, he was good at reading her and adapting. He was going to catch her and figure out who the hell she was and put an end to her thievery.
“Stay away!” she yelled, jumping down a building and into an alley.
“Like hell I will!” He leapt right after her. He wasn’t going to give her enough time to escape this time!
She landed and quickly threw up a barrier to try and trap him in the corner of the alley. Inuyasha predicted the move, and managed to bounce off the ground before the barrier fully closed in. He could hear her heart racing.
“That’s not going to work on me this time.”
“I don’t want to hurt you!” Her face lit up as she magically formed her bow and arrow. It glowed bright, aimed at him.
He scoffed, continuing to feel the sting of where her arrow had nicked him. “Could’ve fooled me.”
“Sorry,” she seemed to whisper before letting her arrow fly. Then another. And another.
Before he could react, Inuyasha found himself pinned to the barrier, three energy arrows tacking him down by his clothes. She’d done it a few times before.
Goddamit. She was going to get away again.
But for some reason, he could smell tears.
She rushed to his side and sniffled. “Does it hurt?”
He looked over and saw that her glistening eyes were focused on the burn on his shoulder. Inuyasha flinched as her finger swept over the spot. The affected area was increasing. Shit. He hoped it would wear off the way her other powers did.
“Sorry,” she apologized again, and it came across sincerely.
This was so weird. He hated her. She was a thief! She’d managed to evade him for months, and now she was so close and he was just stuck. And she was crying over him? What was happening?
Some part of his mind alerted him that he’s being pinned to her barrier. Her temporary barrier, and if he waited just a little longer he just might catch her if she was foolish enough to stick around and be this close. Surely, she must have known that.
But if she was being careless, he should take advantage.
“What are you doing?” He asked in an effort to stall her.
“I couldn’t go without checking. I—I’ve never hit you before.”
And she was right. He knew that. In fact, it drove him crazy. She clearly had the ability to do serious damage, yet this entire time she’d only ever played cat and mouse, constantly fleeing from his grasp.
“Why do you care about what happens to me?”
She seemed taken aback. “B-because,” she sputtered. “You’re a good person…” Her gray-blue eyes gazed at him from behind her mask with something like admiration.
Inuyasha was so confused.
“I can heal it,” she whispered conspiratorially. “It should wear off, but it’ll take at least twenty-four hours before then. I could heal it now, if you want.”
Even the scrape burned, and it was getting worse by the minute. God, she really could just obliterate him if she wanted.
“Do what you want.” He wanted to ask her why. Why did she care about him? Why would she want to heal him? Why not kill him? Why steal? Why any of it.
Instead he watched in dumbstruck awe as she removed the mask on her face and he saw her for the first time.
Oh. She was pretty. Not just pretty; strikingly beautiful.
“This is going to be awkward, but it’s the only way I know to heal damage from my powers.”
“Wh—!” His face exploded into a blush as she put her lips over the burn. His whole body went aflame. Oh my god, what the fuck was happening? This was seriously intimate. Absolutely inappropriate ideas flashed in his mind and he felt his embarrassment burn the tips of his ears.
But the burn on his shoulder gently cooled, and he was left with an effervescent feeling thrumming in his veins.
“I’ve got to go,” she said in a quiet rush as she pulled away.
He caught that her cheeks were pink.
Her hands motioned to create the portal. After a few seconds, a hole appeared in the ground. She jumped up—
And just at that moment, the barrier flickered away.
“Wait!” Inuyasha leapt up, heart pounding, and grabbed her wrist. Her eyes went wide.
But he can’t stop it. The portal doesn’t just open; it sucks them both in with a flash of blinding blue light.

Uniform
Pairing: Older!remus lupin x female!reader
Warnings: Smut (minors dni) unprotected sex (cuz fiction), light spanking, dirty talk, oral (male recieving), roleplay (student w/ teacher but both parties are legal age)
Summary: Remus never realized how cute you looked as a student.
A/n: No stealing. Like it? Reblog. Make any requests if you want, not sure if I can get to them any time in the near future though. Based off this headcanon.
You had caught Remus’s eye the moment he saw you walk in to your first Order meeting.
You had joined a few years after he had, right after you had graduated, but it wasn’t long before you two became close. It started with a few shy glances, several inside jokes, and a couple of intimate conversations before your relationship truly began to blossom. And with the long hours spent together during missions, your affection for each other only grew stronger.
When you finally mustered up the courage to ask Remus out on a date, he was ecstatic. Soon, one date turned into two, then three, until finally time spent together intimately in the night. It wasn’t long until you were already living together in a cozy little apartment, creating your own little family. Your relationship was like a spark that grew into a roaring fire that was enough to keep you two warm through the nights of such a cold war.
Remus was in love with every inch of you. From the way your body moved to the sound of your very voice. Something about your warmth and innocence brought something out in him that even he couldn’t pinpoint. You took care of him. More than he ever could. How had he ever lived without you at this point? Now, it felt like his own survival depended on you.
Truly, sometimes he cursed himself that you two never met sooner. You were both at school together, a couple of years apart, and simply passed each other by. Never noticing. And he regrets it now more than ever. If only he hadn’t been such a typical teenage boy, more distracted by his studies and never taking the time to look up from a book. Perhaps if he had paid more attention, he could’ve met you sooner. And more time spent with you the better.
Sometimes he’d tried to imagine what you must’ve been like as a schoolgirl. You act so motherly and grown-up but what about as a teen? Had you been a goody-two shoes? A party girl? How similar must you have been to the female students he teaches now in class? You must’ve been at least a little immature, he always overhears your old classmates tease you about your change in attitude ever since graduating. A side of you he’s never seen.
Until now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Oh, wow.”
You couldn’t believe you still had this. Sitting on the ground of yours and Remus’s bedroom, you held up your old school uniform that you had just dug up from the bottom of your closet. You had just been looking for your winter clothes when you came across this memento from the past.
“I thought I threw this out...” you murmured to no one in particular. You were currently alone since Remus was at work, but he should’ve been arriving soon. Still...
You bit your lip uncertainly. It wouldn’t be wrong to try it on just for a moment, right? Just to see if it still fit. As embarrassing as it was to admit, you wanted to feel like a young girl again, even for a moment.
Undressing yourself quickly, you slipped into the garments and stood in front of the mirror to get a look at yourself. Not bad. There were some areas that were a little tight here and there, and your skirt was shorter than you remembered, but all was fine. You did a little twirl, the wind lifting your pleated skirt. At that moment, you heard the door open.
“Hey, sweetie. Classes ended a little early today—” Remus stopped dead in his tracks. The door to your bedroom had been wide open, giving him a perfect view of you all dressed up from across the living room.
For a moment, he was speechless. And so were you.
“Remus?” you exclaimed, trying pull down the hem of your skirt and cover yourself. “I-I can explain...”
Remus blinked, snapping out of his trance. Just liked that, he came into the apartment and walked over to you.
“Is that your old uniform?” he asked, looking at your outfit up and down. You were the very spitting image of your old photos that he saw in your albums. He felt transported back in time. Something about this situation was very appealing...
You nervously fiddled with your sleeves, embarrassed to have been caught. “Yeah...” you admitted. “Does it look bad?”
“No! Of course not,” Remus immediately insisted, grabbing your hand gently. He sucked in a breath, trying to take it all in. The way your tight shirt clinged to your body, the whiteness of the fabric giving him a perfect view of your nipples since you hadn’t been wearing a bra, your skirt riding up your thighs with every movement that you made; it was almost too much to bear. “It’s really nice, I swear.”
His hand began slowly trailing up your arm, to your collarbone as he began to lean in, a strange glint in your eye. Your breath hitched, not understanding what suddenly got into him.
“So pretty...”
Before you knew it, you were kissing. Lips meshing together in a rhythmic beat, tongues tangled, saliva dripping, before Remus eventually led you over to the bed.
“Remus,” you managed to say once you came up for a breath of air. “Why—”
“No need to be embarrassed, love,” he murmured as he stopped kissing in order to burying his nose in your neck. He had already untied your tie and was unbuttoning your shirt, leaving a trail of kisses as he went further down. “Did you get all dressed up f’me? So cute.”
He pressed you against the bed, trapping you between his legs and reveling at you in all your glory. As you looked up at him, there was a very visible bulge in his pants. He cupped your face gently, a whisper of a grin on his own.
“Miss L/N,” he suddenly said, voice now firm. The same tone he used in class. You looked up at him, confused.
“Miss L/N,” he repeated, tracing his finger over your dainty lips. “I have to say, I’m surprised. Trying to seduce your professor, have you no shame?”
Finally, it occurred to you what he was doing. Deciding to go along with it, you hesitantly went, “I’m s-sorry...”
He smirked, leaning back down to place kiss along your neck, lightly biting down and sucking on the skin, turning your into a whimpering mess.
“Oh? I’m not sure I can believe you, Miss L/N,” he whispered into your ear, kneading your bare breast. He gave your nipple a quick pinch, causing you to let out another moan. “Not when you’re dressed like such...” his hand was now rubbing against your inner thigh, slowly making its way up. “Honestly, it seems that some disciplinary action will be needed.”
At those words, he climbed off you lifted your legs up, holding them by the ankles. You gasped when he forcefully took his other hand and slapped it across your thighs without warning.
“I think ten slaps should suffice, hm?” he said as he watched you whimper. “Count for me, love.”
As painful as it was, you couldn’t deny the clear wet patch that was forming on your cotton panties. So, willingly, you went “One...”
He slapped you again, this time your skin was more sensitive as you let out a deeper moan.
“T-two...”
He continued on until your thighs were a bright, raw pink. He gently placed your legs back down and gave you a sweet kiss on the forehead.
“Now that wasn’t so bad, was it?” Breathing heavily, you gave him a weak nod. “Use your words.”
“No,” you gasped, breathing heavily. “I...I liked it.”
 Remus smirked. “Good girl. Of course, I’m not finished with you yet.”
He unzipped his pants. “If you’re so desperate to earn that extra credit, you might as well work for it. You do want to remain the top student of my class, don’t you?”
Knowing the drill, you slowly crawled over, pulling his stretched out underwear off. You swallowed, taken aback by just how hard Remus really was.
Just like that, you dragged your wet tongue right from the tip which was already glistening from the precum, your ears burning with the sweet sounds of his moans that filled the room. You made sure to take your time, trying to get every inch before finally taking it all into your mouth and eventually hitting the back of your throat.
Remus’s hand found itself at the back of your head, pushing it down to cover the entire base of his cock, ignoring your gurgling as you tried not to trigger your gag reflex. You began to hollow your cheeks, tightening the space around his member, and you could feel his bulge getting bigger in your mouth.
His hips jerked up to your lips, and he could feel himself right on the edge. Something about watching you kneeling down before in that now rustled uniform, like some goody-two-shoes student who he’s broken down into some common whore for his own pleasure, brought something out in him he couldn’t quite explain.
“Fuck...” you could hear him murmur. “When you move your mouth like that, baby... seems like somebody is looking for a reward.”
Right then, Remus tugged at your hair, pulling your mouth away with a tiny ‘pop’ and once again flipped you on your back, pinning you down. Without taking off your skirt, he tugged off your white panties, which had already formed a considerably-sized wet stain, and began to use his thumb to circle around on your clit. You broke out into a series of moans and a pool of your arousal began to drip down your cunt.
“Remus!” you cried out, wrapping your hips around his waist to pull him closer.
“Remus?” he said, raising an eyebrow. “I don’t believe we’re on any first-name basis, Miss L/N. ‘Professor’ will do just fine.”
“Professor!” you whimpered. “Please... I want...”
“Hm? Tell me, dear, what is it?” he said, now using his other hand to plunge two of his fingers into your pussy. He smirked, watching you squirm under him and bent down to lightly suck on one of your breasts, flicking your sensitive nipple with his tongue. “You’ve gotten yourself a taste and now you want the full treat? Is that it?”
You stared up at him, desperately giving him such an innocent pair of “fuck-me” eyes that Remus could have been pushed over the edge right then and there. You bit your lip, nodding eagerly.
That was all the response he needed. He wasted no time in pushing his cock through your entrance and you screamed out in pleasure. He started ramming into you, flipping up your skirt in order to maintain a firm grip on your hips, and he watched as you continued to cry out ‘professor’ while your breasts bounced from the sheer force. In his eyes, as he fucked you in that dishelved uniform; loose tie, unbuttoned blouse, knee-socks that were at your ankles now, he saw you— a young, juvenile you who was being defiled for the first time by none other than him. The idea itself was enough to quicken his pace from the desire.
“Fuck me!” you cried out. “Fuck me, professor! I’ll be a good girl from now on, just keep going!” Remus scoffed at your words.
“What a good little slut, doing whatever her teacher asks of her,” he growled, still circling his thumb on your clit with one hand. “Must be nice to have the taste of a grown man as your first, huh? Imma ruin you for all the other boys— fuck you until you can’t think of anyone else.”
Your eyes were rolling to the back of your head; his thrusts were rough and harsh, sending sparks up your spine. This was an entirely different side to the Remus you usually knew. And yet something about his degradation and dominance caused a burning heat of desire in your chest that caused you to submit to him at once.
As your hips snapped together, his pace refusing to slow down, you started to near your high, the pressure building up in your stomach. Remus could feel your walls tightening around his cock.
“Gonna cum...” you whimpered. “Please, professor, I wanna cum...”
The begging look on your face was so adorable, Remus couldn’t help but lean down and interlock your lips together, muffling your moans as your tongues tangled. When he pulled away, he watched as the sliver of saliva drop out of your mouth.
“What a good girl.”
Your whole body spasmed and your toes curled as you finally were pushed off the edge of your orgasm. Your back arched as you buckled your hips to Remus’s and you felt to hot white liquid of his seed spurt inside of you. You rocked against each other for a few more moments to ride out both of your highs. The two of you panted, looking at each other and feeling flushed.
You swallowed. “Wow...” you said slowly. “That was new.”
Remus grinned down on you sheepishly and he moved to rest beside you on the bed, nuzzling his nose into the crook of your neck. “I guess I just like the outfit that much.”
Since then, your old school uniform has continued to make a regular appearance in the bedroom.
Fragments - episodes 15-18 author notes
Shall we sit back and go over the recent episodes together? C:
You can find similar breakdown posts on older episodes in my pinned!
Obligatory ShB spoiler warning.
Tumblr media
Any theme song enjoyers? I associate this song with this moment, and generally with Exarch’s longing and excitement that can’t be shown. “And in my usual voice, I say, there you are”.
Tumblr media
Go away grandpa, you crashed an otherwise perfect party :’>
Tumblr media
Had this followed the msq more closely, i.e. had Feo Ul not been the first to find Vivi, or had it happened in an environment more familiar to him, he might've asked Exarch if he's shy, or just ugly. Kinda like if you’re a bully in your school, you might still wanna keep a low profile in a new school.
Vivi treads lightly in a new world, at least tries to. He doesn't yet know how thick or thin is the ice under his feet.
Tumblr media
Exarch doesn’t know about the tree since he was busy waiting for Vivi in the Ocular, having just finished the summoning spell, tense and giddy, hood up and all. Minutes passed, nothing happened, then Exarch started getting antsy and finally turned on his tv to find Vivi in Lakeland.
“Hey it could’ve been your spine” I hope is clear: as in Vivi could’ve landed on Lyna instead of the aforementioned tree, not a threat to snap her spine in a fight. He knows better than taunting random people.. Moreover, people stronger than him x’D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Artist achievement unlocked: managed to make a hooded person look expressive. IN THE BACK VIEW.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SPROUT?!
He’s more cute than he deserves to be here and you’ll perceive him.
Tumblr media
Being at the end of the episode, “we’re friends, yes” is the first and only line almost nonchalantly tossed to Vivi! Exarch wanted to buy time and observe him, how he’s changed, how’s best to approach him now.
Tumblr media
..And Vivi needs rest and new clothes, he spent AN ENTIRE DAY in one outfit. We've seen him around several people so far, and, while he's always genuine, he's the most himself with Exarch, even at this early stage.
But yeah, he’s jaded, regrets many choices in his life and wants his money back.
Tumblr media
Vivi's tailored for this ship. Before I even knew that I wanted to write a comic of this size, I asked myself, what condition does he need to be in at the beginning of ShB for the chemistry to happen? The answer was, well, "terrible". I’ve got the juicy deets, but you’d have to be patient and keep an eye out for more flashbacks sprinkled in throughout the story.
What matters now is that, finally, both of them are sufficiently tired to start noticing something else than gremlins in each other.
Tumblr media
Have fun living with the knowledge that there’s no face where it’s supposed to be :>
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Exarch has a way with the fae: don't flinch, offer them something nice. He offers rest to Vivi without hesitation, as soon as he sees his emotionally battered state. And, oh, he’s still an archer, landing that perfect shot first try. This here is a genuine spark of interest, surprise and gratitude in Vivi’s eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I went balls deep with the visual subtext here. Despite being shown up close, Vivi’s broody face takes on a secondary role as his mind literally closes in on Exarch in that moment, on the mystery man that’s suddenly so unlike the rest. Even if he’s yet another quest-giver, even if shit’s on fire, he allows Vivi to go? Rest? Have some time for himself???? Exarch is, or is about to become, his only light in the darkness :3c
Exarch’s stiff posture is also intended here. He must’ve rehearsed this scene sooooooooo many times, he was prepared for hostility, interrogation, tantrums, but this Warrior’s indifferent and just wants to leave?
Tumblr media
Magical boy de-transformation! Headcanon time, two of them even.
Firstly, the Tower can register living presence in its vicinity, a passive ability which Exarch can casually tap into. Being aware of an entire city’s population is, mildly put, overwhelming, thus he’s learned to shrink the “radar” area down to his Ocular, or wherever he’s at the moment and whenever he actually needs it. He feels that Vivi’s indeed left, therefore he can safely remove the hood.
Secondly, the hood shadow’s magicked. The panel above demonstrates how it’d look naturally, if it were a normal shadow. But he casts a pitch black glamour that also extends to his hair.
Tumblr media
Just a cool crystal flare that I feel like showing off :>
Tumblr media
None of you would believe me now if I said this isn't a horny scene? Although this looks lewd, for someone who’d spent a century clinging to memories and tales the lingering scent is just another confirmation that all of this's real. He can't even touch the WoL (or so he thinks), the scent could be the most he ever gets. Bearing in mind the stress of the day, I genuinely don’t think that he’s in the mood here. But no worries, he’ll get plenty of horny opportunities later on :>
Tumblr media
The subtle characterization in the way he opens a door to a supposedly empty, still unknown room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
An unironically normal reaction to the Light, and shadowbringing \o/
Tumblr media
This. This goes into my personal collection of the best vivifaces I’ve drawn.
He’s quick to react to a threat (?) popping out of nowhere in a supposedly safe room.
Tumblr media
GOMU GOMU NOOOOOOO-
I know the arm’s too long, but I like to incorporate some animation princliples :>
Tumblr media
The Champion of Eorzea uses a stick to cure a 100 years old depression, ca. 2023, colorized.
Vivi didn't mean to pierce him, actually. While the space's more than enough for living, it's still cramped for fighting as a dragoon, and he simply misjudged the distance while spinning around and lunging at the source of that eerie voice. There’s also an ooc explanation: I couldn’t quite align all of this in one frame, and thought hey, Ardbert’s a ghost, it’s okay to pierce him!
Both are quick to handwave the fact, and let’s be honest, self-defense of that sort must be a mundane thing for a WoL.There’s more important stuff to discuss. Both are desperate to vent to someone they could trust. They may disagree on things, but generally they vibe pretty well with Ardbert.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A lil shoutout to @agent-jaselin for commenting this under the respective episode. I almost forgot to point it out while making this post. Vivi tries to see if he can relate to another WoL, if his struggles are valid, or if he’s overreacting to a typical hero life. Ardbert had a whole friend group adventuring alongside him, the Scions don’t measure up unfortunately, on top of that Vivi (emotionally) stays the fuck away from anyone post-ARR for their own protection (and his own if he ends up losing someone else), so it’s not quite the same experience for him.
Tumblr media
One of the few redeeming qualities: Vivi keeps his word. This's gonna be relevant in like 2025 :'>
Tumblr media
He baby, THAT’S his problem.
Tumblr media
From pointing his spear at him to comfortably undressing and falling asleep in his vicinity. Ardbert's possibly the first man to be asked to stay and not get laid by Vivi :’>
Tumblr media
While the Crystarium and its people seem nice, it’s still Vivi’s first day (one loooooong day since the beginning of chapter 2) in a brand new world, and Ardbert’s the only somewhat familiar person here. A ghost? Even better. The supernatural’s easier to deal with and is less likely to backstab you.
The sweet-voiced hooded guy says that it’s okay, that he’s safe here.... Yeah that on itself is a flag for our mr doubter. He’s grown reasonably paranoid since ARR, (almost) everything he does has a nice cynical-flavored logic to it.
While this’s a wolgraha comic, it’d be bland without support characters. Ardbert doesn’t play a massive role in this particular story, still you’ll keep seeing him here and there.
The next several episodes focus on the main two and Feo Ul, they’ll claw their way in even if they were left out x’D
ronancetober - day six: fantasy
Robin doesn’t hear Nancy approach so much as she feels her, knows the way her presence settles the earth around her.
The ranger peers at her from across the fire, sparks reflecting off Nancy’s hair. Robin melts a little. The rest of the party is long since asleep, Steve and Jonathan having settled down early in their tent and the rest of them petering off over the next few hours. Now, it’s just Robin and the stars— and Nancy, of course. It’s almost peaceful.
Sometimes, Robin is glad her friend can read her as well as she can. Rather than speaking up, attempting to comfort Robin or reassure her, Nancy simply allows her to revel in the silence, her presence a steady reminder besides Robin.
There had been a moment— just a second, maybe two— today when Robin had been certain Steve was going to die. She’d been out of spell slots, and though that’s not exactly something she could’ve predicted, she’s still been badgering herself about it since they set up camp. Steve doesn’t blame her, she knows, but there’s little to no chance of him ever doing that, so it’s little comfort. Jonathan, luckily, had been just a few yards away, close enough to dash Steve’s way mid-combat while Nancy had the dragon distracted and cast lay on hands.
She can still picture the giant gash across Steve’s forehead, bleeding while she just stares, useless. Great, she thinks, a sorcerer who can’t even fucking cast.
(She’d burnt it saving Jonathan’s ass earlier in the battle, and that’s good, she’s glad, but it still doesn’t lessen the feeling that she should’ve done more. Done better.)
Robin must look especially lost in her self-hatred, because after another beat of quiet, Nancy leans over.
“Did I ever tell you,” she begins softly, with that meaningful tone that draws people in regardless of what she’s saying, “about the time when Mike and I were adventuring, back before…” She gestures widely, all-encompassing.
Robin shakes her head mutely.
“Well,” Nancy says, “we were out with Lucas and Dustin, so it must’ve been back when Jonathan was still at home with his mum.” Robin traces the history backwards in her mind’s eye. Jonathan, still at home with Joyce, despite how lucky any fucking adventuring party would be to have him. Will, lost to the demogorgon, the Byers desperately trying to find him. Robin knows Nancy had helped out her brother’s party while Will was gone, knows that it had been the reason she and Jonathan had decided to join a group of their own. But she’s not sure where the story’s going, if she’s honest.
“There was a demodog,” Nancy continues, “and we hadn’t rested before handling it, because we were stupid kids.” She scoffs, the sound heavy with judgment. “And…” Nancy hesitates, the words getting stuck in her throat for a moment. “And Dustin got really fucked up.”
Robin startles, a little. She doesn’t know the younger party that well, but she knows them well enough— knows Nancy’s always harbored a soft spot for Dustin— and she knows with immediate, sinking clarity what Nancy’s trying to tell her.
“Gods,” Robin murmurs, and she reaches out to lay a palm on Nancy’s thigh, warm and soft. Nancy hums in appreciation but continues anyway.
“He was pretty close to dead, Robs. And I’m— I don’t have…” Nancy pauses. Recovers. “I had cure wounds, but I was running low on slots. We’d just handled something else and without the rest… I don’t know. It was terrifying.”
Robin thinks about it, about tiny little Dustin, smaller even than he is now that Will’s back with the party and Jonathan’s joined theirs, weak and bruised, blood smeared on his face. It doesn’t make her fuckup today better, but it does remind her that she and Nancy can share the load. That their being able to comfort each other, familiar with each other’s trauma in a way you can only become when it mirrors your own, has only made them stronger.
Still, she says what she knows Nancy has been avoiding saying to her since Jonathan saved Steve’s life.
“I’m sorry, Nance.” She squeezes, once, twice. Nancy drops her own hand on top of Robin’s and laces their fingers together. “It wasn’t your fault. You did what you could.”
Nancy levels her with a look that reads I can smell your bullshit, but doesn’t engage. “I just wanted you to know I get it,” she says instead, smiling sardonically. “I get it better than I wish I did. We’re all… we’re all here to help each other up, Robin. That’s what a party is for.”
Robin finds herself smiling too, just a little.
“You’re right. I know you’re right. Just, can we… do you mind sharing, tonight? I don’t want to sleep alone.”
Nancy nods, immediate and resolute.
“Of course,” she says, gentle again. “Every night, if you need.”
Zutara Last Five Years AU (pt. 3/12)
-
Part two:
-
Katara looked over her shoulder to the figure that was slowly approaching her.
“Zuko,” she breathed, slightly surprised that he had actually come to see her.
He took a few more steps before sitting down beside her, overlooking the ocean that was in front of the pier they both sat on. He looked back over to her, a wide smile stretching across her face.
“What’s that for?”
“I’m just happy you’re here,” she took his hand in hers and held it tightly, “I miss you.”
Zuko nodded. His duties of fire lord had taken over a large portion of his life. He looked down, eyes settling on the new dress she wore. Blue fabrics gently wrapping around her figure.
“Where’s that from?”
“I stole it,” she smirked.
Zuko’s face contorted into that of surprise and disbelief.
“I’m joking,” she laughed, “someone from the Northern Water Tribe sent it. It makes me look like Yue.”
Zuko laughed again. His hand covered his mouth.
Katara sighed and her eyes found Zuko’s.
“What is it?”
She took a deep breath, “I think we’re going to be okay.”
Zuko’s face contorted into some kind of confusion before settling down. He nodded again and let out a slight ‘mhm’.
“I mean- we’ll have to try harder. Maybe be a little more flexible?” She nudged Zuko, “what we have is special, just as it was five years ago. I mean- look at you, you’re here, and so am I. I love that.”
Zuko took a long moment to think. Silence overwhelmed the two of them. Katara spoke again.
“I think the water tribes will really like what I’ve come up with.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, im pretty sure it doesn’t suck like the other laws I tried to pass.” She rolled her eyes, then focused back on Zuko. He let out a small chuckle and he smiled.
Yeah, they were fine.
Katara and Zuko both knew they still had a ways to go. Their relationship was bumpy.
“I-“ Katara finally started, “I think we both know that things have been rocky. We can both see where things could’ve been better,” she mumbled the last part to herself, but she still expected Zuko could hear it. “I’ll- you know I’ll own when I’m wrong or make a mistake, right? I mean, with everything we’ve gone through, we can only get stronger.” Zuko didn’t change his expression much. “So let’s try again and just keep going. One step at a time, hmm?”
Zuko nodded and looked back out at the ocean for a few moments. Katara followed in suit. Then, he stood up.
“I’ve got to go. They’re having another party and I have to- well, you know…”
“I-“ Katara cut herself off. “I didn’t know you had to leave so soon. I thought we’d have more time.”
“I’m sorry. You can come if you want-“
“No, whatever. If you have to do it then you have to do it. And you have to. It’s fine. We can talk more tonight.”
Zuko’s lips pinched together in a tight smile as he began walking back.
Katara looked back at the ocean. She could feel tears begin to well up in her eyes.
She turned back to Zuko who was no more than a few meters away from her.
“You know what drives me nuts, Zuko?”
“What?”
“We could be here, together, spending time, and you’re going to choose someone else to be with.”
“Katara, you know I’m not-“
“Yes you are!”
“Don’t talk like this-“
“It’s exactly what you’re doing! You can be here with me, or there with them. And as usual, you pick them.”
“Katara you know I-“
“No Zuko, you do NOT have to go to another party.”
“If I could just-“
“You could be with ME instead, your WIFE, on her fucking birthday. Or you could, god forbid, even help me fix fire nation ties with the Water Tribes.”
“I…” Zuko stopped himself this time.
“And I know, it must drive you crazy that you can’t hang around with your other little girlfriends-“
“They are not-! It’s strictly political, I don’t ‘hang around’ anyone! God, Katara, you’re being dramatic-”
“I’m not!”
“-and overbearing.”
“No, I’m not! This is exactly my point! You can’t spend a single day that’s not about you!”
“Katara you and I both know that’s not true.”
“Nothing but you! ‘Oh look how amazing Fire Lord Zuko is’ and ‘He’s so cute’ and ‘Do you have a girlfriend?’ It’s all about you!”
A long pause. She took a deep breath.
“And I-” Katara was breathing so heavily. Her chest felt like it was pulsing out of her body. She could barely control herself as tears spilled from her eyes and back onto the pier. Zuko stood there, no less than a meter away now, looking at her. Just…
Standing there.
“I swear to Tui and La and I will never understand how you can just stand there.. watching me cry-
-and not do anything.”
Any headcanons about Magic Tricked (Seam/Jevil)?
It would be rare and very confusing if I didn’t have headcanons for a ship I made a name for.
Jevil and Seam are technically both stronger than any of the kings, the only reason they don’t go ape shit with power is the bit
Jevil and Seam used to belong to different courts, Jevil was always a part of the King of Spades and would just perform for the other kings while Seam just was bounced around
I know the kings used to rule equally but I like to imagine certain subject belonged to certain courts like in SU
Seam got placed with the King as the King was getting bored with only jokes and Jevil loved the magic tricks Seam could do, especially the fire ones.
Jevils first attempt at interaction was trying to set one of his juggling things on fire and accidentally lighting Seams tail ablaze and then apologetically putting it out with a spray flower
Love at first accidental arson
Seam decided to help Jevil avoid getting executed by teaching him proper magic between entertaining the kings and casting spells
Centuries of these bozos casting spells and Jevil making him balloon animals
I like to think Seam was the type to be strict about their duties and Jevil helped them lighten up.
Probably surprised Seam by showing the old mage how much fun the world outside the castle could be (hint hint nudge mentioned this is also what he did with Spam)
I bet these bitches ates a dark candy like the noodle scene in lady and the tramp and got the gusher juice everywhere
This was actually Seams idea
Seam was a surprisingly good influence on Jevil in keeping him from being too intense even before being enlightened. Taught him the few bits of gentleness Jevil is able to show
I feel like this came from dates from the most part, Seam showing Jevil causation, reservation and care when explaining how you couldn’t be wild with magic like the type they used while Jevil show Seam how he had to lack reservations and go out on a limb for a good trick to land.
Honestly they were very cute and did a lot of acts together. I can imagine them mixing practical tricks and magic like making the saw box trick real and functional
Jevil definitely used his spring neck to give Seam a kiss
I hc that Jevils decent was a long one that saw him off and on the kingdoms wanted list for centuries. At first it was just him overstepping jesters privilege but eventually it got more aggressive as he was corrupted by his enlightenment
I like to think he was completely open to Seam about everything but Seam just couldn’t fully understand without experiencing whatever Jevil did. They went along with whatever hijinks Jevil did as long as no one got hurt (or bothered a king)
Sean started having doubts when Jevil was actively trying to get in trouble and cause chaos, especially when it led to him going missing for periods at a time to lay low.
It didn’t help that when he did come back it was just to cause more havoc. Despite their warnings and pleas Jevil was too far into his mindset to hear them out, the kings now threatening Seam to get Jevil under control or they’d take care of it
Jevil got more wreckless largely due to the caller wanting more control over him. Jevils new view made him believe he should be his own and he began to loathe the callers hypocrisy. It also didn’t help that the caller threatened to find other people ways to get Jevil to stay in line
Of course as point one states this wouldn’t work out so Seam gave Jevil an ultimatum: Help them understand why he is like this so he can explain his case to the kings or give himself in or never come back again. (seam didn’t want to risk what could’ve happened)
Of course Jevil wanted to show Seam his wonderful world view but it meant involving Seam with the caller which Jevil had cut contact with. So he decided to leave safe himself the trouble and futility in making Seam get something they never could.
Seam was actually in disbelief that Jevil was just so ready to go and made a pretty big scene of telling Jevil how dangerous he had become and how t. Jevil of course prodded back at how Seam was too complacent in a world with so many inquiries. Seam argued back that not everything must be challenged or questioned and how all this was doing was making it unsafe to be around him.
Jevil insisted that this is what freedom was like and Seam threatened to alert the guards as a challenge to Jevils idea of freedom. Jevil started up one of his “games” in response… He left soon after never having the heart to return and finish his turn…
Jevils only keep sake from Seam was a single button
Seam still covered for Jevil as the kings at this point wanted him punished no matter what. Occasionally they’d hear jingling bells or soft melancholy giggles on certain days in the castle
The last time they spoke it was to seal Jevil away in which Seam originally refused to do. Of course the kings made it clear it wasn’t a choice despite how hesitant Seam was.
In a weird turn of events, Jevil encouraged them one last time to let loose and go all out on their last magic trick together: The inescapable reality.
As follows Seam moved out of the castle and retired from being the royal mage. They were allowed the key to Jevil’s prison and split it up to avoid temptation to let their old friend free and scattered it. They kept piece A as an odd mementos
Piece A is the circular ring part of the key, old fashioned and a simple gold. It was almost like a band. Seam wears it as if it was really such.
I feel like they started out with similar world views and principles but different executions. They were a sort of yin and yang to each other that grew way too far apart as Jevil leaned way too into the more fundamental parts of what he believed in. Seam still cared but it was no longer healthy to be with Jevil and duty called. Not to get into Spamvil but part of my basis for how it began is Jevil needing to fill a gap that was being created between him and Seam. It’s why he was a lot less serious with Spam despite still wanting the real parts. He was projecting and denying it causing it didn’t fit with the new values he aligned himself with and just ended up with another lose and an even bigger gap.
Plugging that post (link) and the fic that alludes to it (link). Anyway I’d smack em together like the dolls they are and make kissy noises <3
WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT/FEDERATION MAGAZINE: OCTOBER 1996
EL SID!
THE POTENTIAL IS ABOUT TO BE TAPPED
By Vince Russo
In the early 1990s I just didn’t buy it. This man didn’t belong in anyone’s shadow. Especially a champion who had by far seen his better days. In my opinion, I will always view WrestleMania VIII as a disappointment. It should have been Sid's day… Sid’s year… and Sid’s era. Instead, a voodoo man, a Warrior, and immaturity crashed and ruined his party, thus forcing him almost into obscurity.
In 1992, at WrestleMania VIII, Sid Eudy should’ve, would’ve and could’ve beat Hulk Hogan. He was bigger, stronger, faster and smarter than the then champion. Unfortunately, in his own words, he was not ready for the “big time”. A hometown boy from Arkansas, Sid was not quite prepared for the lights, cameras and action of the World Wrestling Federation. As a matter of fact, before a deserved rematch could have even be issued, Sid had already packed his bags and headed back to “Razorback Country”.
After some extensive soul searching, a more grown-up, seasoned Sid made his comeback to the World Wrestling Federation three years later in 1995. Little did he know that the hurdle that would stand in his way this time was not himself, but rather something that would be far beyond his control. His “greenery” was small potatoes when compared to the professional jealousy that Sid would have to overcome in order to get to the place he wanted to be… the top. Kids, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again–WRESTLING = SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT = BIG BUSINESS = POLITICS and with politics comes jockeying for position. Yes, there are many Willie Shoemakers at TitanSports, both outside…and INSIDE the ring. When Sid made his long awaited return, those who ruled the ring at the time may have been intimidated by him… in more ways than one. He was the new kid on the block, not to mention the new “BIGGER” kid. Fans immediately began cheering him because he was “cool,” and that became threatening to many of his peers. I was at Monday Night Raw in Macon, Georgia, on  February 20, 1995, when Sid debuted as the new bodyguard of Shawn Michaels. To say the place became an asylum would be an understatement! When Sid made his way down that aisle, the patients went beyond CRAZY! They ripped off their strait-jackets and got ready to rock!
Folks, to certain individuals–THIS WAS NOT GOOD.
“Warning, warning, Will Robionson. An intruder is looking to steal our spotlight!” That’s right, IN MY OPINION, a certain number of Sid’s peers may have been shaking in their boots. If Eudy were, by chance, to become more popular than them, it would be devastating… devastating to their egos, of course, NOT to the business as a whole! So, in more ways than one, they saw to it that Sid was buried. And, buried he was. Left out to rot… fossilize… chum for the maggots.
For the next six months, Sid would lie low. IN MY OPINION, he had become a victim of “circumstance”. For understandable reasons, he may have become sour with the business. The politics seemed to have pushed him into the “could have been” category. He even went so far as to announce his retirement from the squared circle. If this truly was the case, then it would be nothing short of a tragedy. A wasteful loss not only to the World Wrestling Federation, but to the business as a whole.
But wait, at the end of the tunnel you could hear the firing of a match. Yes, there was light.
The balance of power shifted among the ranks of the World Wrestling Federation, largely due to the almighty buck. Those who may have buried Sid earlier were not being buried themselves in a gushing flood of undeserving greenbacks. Remember, those who tore Sid down behind his back said it was for the “good of the company”. Well, my question is, “Where was the ‘good of the company’ when you were negotiating behind the boss’ back?!”
You  know what, scratch that. I’m not going to get up on my soapbox because that is not what this commentary is about. This commentary is about SID. And, for the reasons I am about to mention, I strongly believe that Sid’s time has arrived!!!
Along with Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels is probably the most “confident” individual I have ever known. He doesn’t worry about the “threat” of others overthrowing his Kliq because as the World Wrestling Federation Champion he realizes what he brings to the dance. He doesn’t have to tear down others to build himself up, because he already is the tallest skyscraper in the city! He has no shortcomings. Nothing to hide or protect. He has the belief in himself that no man is  going to knock him off his perch. It’s the security of himself. Shawn Michaels knows that Sid is good for the “business”. He’s a monster with a personality and people will pay money to see him! Sid will help everybody–including Shawn Michaels–in the long run.
With Shawn Michaels on top, there is no question in my mind that Sid’s time is NOW! Politics can take a beat seat and let him do the driving! The potential has only thus far been tapped… but now it will EXPLODE!!!
Yes, Sid Eudy just may soon… “RULE THE WORLD”!
Time Travel Firestar AU
summary: the Dark Forest, led by Tigerstar, manages to defeat the clans in the Last Hope. As Firestar lies, his last life bleeding out, StarClan, no, the strings of fate, guide his spirit and soul back to when Tigerstar was no more than a apprentice. Firestar, now apprentice aged once more, tries to win over Tigerstar and turn him away from the path decreed by StarClan to turn him into the tyrant he became.
prologue
He felt every wound burn like smolders, cuts and gashes that stung from the pure fury of Dark Forest Warriors. Firestar took a breath, feeling the adrenaline in his body and the blood dripping.
“Well done, Brambleclaw. I’m proud of you.” he hears a sick sneer, a low, dark voice like the rumbling of thunder. Looking from Brambleclaw, his deputy, standing over Hawkfrost’s body, to who the tom was looking at, he felt a kindling of fire. Tigerstar.
“This battle is over, Tigerstar.” Firestar hissed, fur fur along his spine fluffing up. “The Dark Forest has lost.”
Tigerstar just laughed, his grim chuckle echoing across the clearing. Beside him, he saw Brambleclaw stiffen. “The Dark Forest is endless. This battle has only just begun.” Tigerstar gave a yowl of malice, and Firestar’s eyes widened with horror as rows apon rows of shadowed warriors plunged into the clearing.
As Brambleclaw was thrust to the ground by a silver tabby, screeching as teeth met his throat, Firestar snarled and dove to help, leaping onto the she-cat’s back and ripping at their pelt until he felt his teeth touch bone and he ripped until the form below him dissolved into dark smoke. Brambleclaw was crouching below him, gasping. His throat was red, scarlet as blood oozed from his neck. He turned to look at Firestar, his eyes filled with fear, until he gave a gurgle and collapsed.
“No!” Firestar bolted to the dark tabby, his deputy, his apprentice, who had once could’ve been like a son to him, pressing his nose into his bloody brown fur. He raised his gaze from his fallen friend, watching the scene unfold in his own clan’s clearing.
Ivypool was curling her claws into a ginger tomcat, hissing with fury while Dovewing lie bleeding from a deep wound in her stomach from nearby. Sandstorm, oh no he couldn’t see Sandstorm anywhere. He heard a cry of pain, and turned to see Tigerstar with his claws wrapped around his mate’s throat.
Firestar gave a flying leap, barrelling into his longtime enemy, sending the tom flying. Tigerstar landed on his paws, grinning villainishly. “i’ve waited a long time to kill you.” the dark tabby snarled as he charged for Firestar, swiping for the tom’s legs. He dodged easily, hopping over his arm and slicing at Tigerstar’s side, feeling dark, black blood splatter against his claws. Tigerstar gave a hiss and Firestar felt teeth meet his tail, and a horrid ripping sound as Tigerstar tugged with all his might. The ginger tomcat shrieked with pain and fury, glancing at Sandstorm, who was now grappling with a black she-cat, and losing, and he gave a growl and turned to leap onto Tigerstar’s back.
As soon as his claws connected with the tom’s dark fur, Tigerstar rolled onto his back, and Firestar gasped as the air was knocked out of his body. His face was smothered by thick mahogany chest fur, and thick hindclaws dug into his lower belly. Tigerstar’s eyes met his, gleaming with malicious delight.
“even if you kill me,” Firestar spat. “You won’t win this fight, ThunderClan, all the clans are stronger than your mangy group of cats.”
“Don’t be so sure, kittypet.” Tigerstar forced Firestar onto his stomach, long, thick claws pinning his head down as the Dark Forest leader forced him to watch the fight.
“I’ll let every single one of your clanmates die before i finally get my revenge. You took everything from me. I could’ve been the leader of ThunderClan, led them to a great future. But you, oh you, Firestar, you ruined everything.”Tigerstar hissed in his ear.
The ginger tabby’s eyes felt wet with grief, watching the battle unfold. Two dilute calico twins were batting back Millie, who was yowling with fury over Greystripe’s limp form while Bumblestripe and Briarlight crouched over their father’s dead body. No.. Greystripe..Firestar writhed under Tigerstar’s grasp, but the dark tabby held him down efficiently. Ivypool was gasping for breath as the ginger tabby from before suffocated her; Ferncloud and Dustpelt were fighting for protection of the nursery against four dark warriors. There were simply too many cats.. the couldn’t win this. He shut his eyes, trying to block out the sight before him. The screams of terror, pleading for help from StarClan, anyone. but no one came.
Eventually the cries stopped, and he knew with a sickening feeling that his clan was dead. He didn’t dare open his eyes, but a chuckle from Tigerstar told him all he needed to know. He failed.
“i truely feel for you, Firestar, oh i do. Knowing your whole clan couldn’t beat the Dark Forest. But, after all, they were led by a kittypet.” Tigerstar’s teeth clamped over the back of his neck, and with a sickening crunch, he was dead.
There just wasn’t enough time. During everything, the “we just met properly for the first time in years,” and “things keep going sideways,” and “there’s not enough time to look you in the eyes and tell you it’s gonna be okay,” and words left unsaid before “one of us is gone and those slivers of time weren’t enough to say what I really wanted to say,” it felt like missed opportunities crashing into each other.
For Steve, Eddie was gone and the world was determined to forget he existed as anything but what they wanted him to be. He’d made Steve feel redeemed for a second, saw a piece of what could have been, but they weren’t fast enough to save him. Everything was happening so fast and Steve was in charge, but people kept getting hurt and for the first time they didn’t win.
For Eddie, he was lost in the Upside Down, the nightmare soup, and brought back to life to become the monster Hawkins and Vecna thought he was better off as. His friends thought he was dead, they left him there, but hey, he didn’t blame them. He could hear them sometimes, their voices replacing the wind in the deadly air. There’s no wind in the Upside Down, just listless particles and cracks of red lightning.
Eddie heard the echoes of what he wanted to say to Steve the last time he saw him. Vecna tried to use it against him, called him a coward that chose death over an attempt at redemption and a tepid, “make him pay,” over the words that got stuck in his throat when he looked at Steve.
Vecna possessed his body, healed his wounds and tried to drown Eddie in his own head with taunts of the things Eddie had been saying to himself for years. Eddie cowered in the corners of his mind and the only way he could keep himself from slipping away was to hide in the good things that were and the fantasy of what could’ve been.
Mornings with Wayne, days with Hellfire and nights with Corroded Coffin. The blackened pages of his notebooks, the sound of his guitar and the determined rumble of his van’s engine. He swam in the past while Vecna destroyed the present.
In this hidden corner of his mind that he protected against Vecna, Eddie could live in whatever world he wanted. He could go on the date he never asked Steve on and no one would bother them about it. He could perform a show in front of thousands and see only Steve and his friends among them, shining like stars. The Performer, using his words and movements to make the people he loves laugh and keep him around.
And then, when he’d almost forgotten that the fantasy wasn’t real and convinced himself that nothing bad had ever happened to him, Eddie heard the wind.
But it wasn’t wind sweeping into that corner of his mind. It was their voices, crying and shouting at him to wake up, they know he’s still in there and he can fight back. Fight with them and win this time around. Even with Vecna’s venom rumbling like an earthquake, telling Eddie that he’s nothing, he’s weak and better off dead, Eddie heard the wind as Steve.
“Eddie, come back. We need you, I want more time.”
Then Eddie saw a girl he knew couldn’t be a fantasy because he’d never seen her before. She had short hair, a bloody nose, and fire in her eyes. She told him that they can kill Vecna for good but they need his help. She’s stronger now and so is he; strong enough to go back to the real world and make his dreams a reality.
Amongst the voices of his friends, the intensity of her face and superpowers, the growing hope of seeing his loved ones for real, Eddie believed it. Vecna’s bark was worse than his bite, and his voice was the only power he had. Eddie told him the truth, that he might be nothing, but he’s here and at least he’s not alone. He has something Henry never wanted and never had.
They defeated Vecna for good. Eddie opened his eyes to the surface, the real world, and felt his own extremities for the first time in months.
After what felt like years in his own head, he saw the wet faces of the people who took him in and risked the wrath of civilians to keep him safe.
He saw Steve, who couldn’t seem to manage anything but, “Eddie, holy shit, it worked, oh my god, holy shit.”
And finally, on the ground and surrounded by gates closing and fires going out, Eddie looked him in the eye and said what he’d said in his dreams a hundred times.
“Steve,”
He saw a glimmer of something in Steve’s face, stronger than the last time. Eddie had relived this enough to know that it was hope.
“When this is all over, we should go out sometime,” His whole body trembled with finally being present in it, being here. “Ya know, put the old Harrington moves on me.”
Steve laughed, cried, and he didn’t really stop. Through hiding again, getting Eddie’s name cleared and the government wiping the word Hawkins from the map, Steve just kept laughing.
Now it’s real, and it’s so much better than whatever fantasy Eddie had conjured up. Now it’s “I’ll pick you up on Friday,” and “one more kiss. One more, c’mon just one more,” and “where’re you going? I’m not done with you yet,” and “it’s been a day, an hour, a minute,” and “I know, tell me about it.”
So we know there is some sort of alternate dimension disconnect between the memories shown of Player guiding the boys and the our universe Player who has no memory of that, but I’d still like to write something a little sad…
“You need to be more careful Link! That chuchu was massive and could’ve swallowed you whole!” You gritted out, pulsing with red hot fury in Link’s chest.
“Ah- I’m sorry! I don’t mean to worry you, I prefer to get fights over as quick as possible.” Link rubbed his neck sheepishly, looking down at your golden light with a queasy expression.
“But still! Is taking all of those hits worth the quickest victory? At that point your just setting yourself up for later failure from injury. Come on, drink a potion already, don’t think I can’t see that gash mister!”
“Fine fine.” Link waved dismissively at the air as he pulled out a red bottle. He grimaced as the pungent smell invaded his nostrils, even worse his throat mightily disagreed with the taste and tried to gag as soon as the scarlet liquid reached over his tongue.
“That tasted awful.”
“Well maybe if you were more careful in battle you’d have to taste these less.”
Link grumbled, sighing as his wounds began to seal over with the magical effects of the fowl concoction.
“Hmm, yeah?!” Link startled, who were you yelling at? He hadn’t said anything to you… had he…?
In fact, your voice sounded… muffled, further maybe? It was like you had been speaking directly to him this whole time and had just now turned your head away.
“Who are you-?”
“Ah, give me one second Link, I’ll be right back.” Your voice faded, almost like you were walking away. But that wasn’t possible you were-
Link gasped in fright, letting his slime covered sword clatter to the ground with a squelch. He clutched at his chest and stared in fright as your constant, golden light had significantly dimmed, slowly getting weaker and weaker.
“(Name), (NAME)?!” He wrapped his arms around his chest and fell to his knees, trying to, somehow, keep you close. Yet, even still, your light grew dimmer and dimmer, until the pulsing visage winked out of existence.
A rush of crushing, burning cold swamped him. Ice bit at his nails while his face heated up, tears of fire gathered in his eyes as they rolled down his cheeks.
You were gone.
The lovely bubble of joy and comfort you had brought, plushness and feelings made of soft furs, the small of cinnamon mixed with honey and butterscotch? All vanished, just like that, in seconds.
Where had you gone? What was he to do? Your presence had been erased from his body. What was he going to- you weren’t supposed to leave him! He hadn’t realized how much he relied on your constant aura of encouragement and love until now. He couldn’t- you had been with him through this whole journey up until this moment, he didn’t think he could do this alone, he couldn’t-
A glow caught his tear soaked eyes. He gasped as your light faintly swirled in his chest again, weak and almost airy feeling. He clutched his middle again, desperate to keep you close this time when he couldn’t before. He clung helplessly to your pillowy soft warmth and cushioned kisses as your aura grew stronger.
Your voice finally faded back in, and he allowed relief to sweep him off his feet. “I’m back! Sorry about that, my mother wanted me to-“
“DON’T GO!” He shouted, tears licking down his cheeks. “P-please don’t go again. It was so scary without you.” Call him childish for his choice of words, but he found he didn’t care at the moment. All he could focus on was that you were here and not gone.
“Wo-woah bud! I’m not going anywhere. I’m right here, see?” You flashed your light, his limbs relaxed as the tension soaked out of him. He felt somewhat dazed and sleepy, yet simultaneously strained and hysterical from the reaction he had just had to your impromptu leave.
“Don’t go again, please. I thought you were leaving me forever, or that you had died.” He whispered, choking on his words. He found himself unbalanced and suddenly shaken by the fact that at any moment you could leave him at any given time and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it.
“D-don’t worry! I won’t! I’ll just save and quit next time.”
“What?”
“Nothing nothing, you wouldn’t get it anyways. How about we just clean off your sword, yeah?”
He sniffled, letting your calming presence soak him. “Yeah.”
I regret nothing.
Basically, Player walks away from whatever device they are using to go do something and Link freaks out thinking they would be gone forever as opposed to five minutes.
Better yet, if you wanted to think of this going on for him with the Nintendo clock, where for every minute here an hour passes in their world, then go ahead and torture yourself further.
BB WHY DO YOU HAVE HURT ME LIKE THIS
LIKE WHAT WAS THE FUCKING REASON
Tumblr media
ONLY SO FAR: our protagonist, at last.
the world, the underground, who's who, and above ground have all been posted.
While many work Underground, there is one who manages to do it with concerning skill, little fear of consequence, deadly dedication, and a disarming grin.
Jack Kelly: 22. Primarily Mexican, with West African heritage. Healing Inclined. Chaotic Good, with his exact placement below.
Tumblr media
Born and raised in Manhattan’s Lower East Side to absent parents, grew up taking care of himself and not hinting to anyone that he was doing so.
Dated Katherine Pulitzer through high school, which drove her father absolutely mad. Admittedly, Jack had not been a fantastic influence on her, keeping her out late at night, introducing her to the fun and colorful world of fake IDs, weed, and nicked alcohol. But she had glowed when with him, he knew, standing up more against her father and allowing her fire to become warm instead of scalding.
He’d been close with David Jacobs as well through school, nearly spending as much time with him as he did with Katherine. They could talk for hours, give each other sound advice, while also arguing endlessly. They didn’t work well, but they strived to, and through their time spent together they’d become an unstoppable pair of best friends.
And occasionally, he’d see Charlie, whom he knew from Manhattan’s street scene. It was easy to be friends with the boy, however secretive he often was about his life.
One night, when Katherine had snuck Jack home with her, she dared him to steal something from the house by the time the night was over. Jack was eerily spectacular at it, and it’d be a test to get anything by Kath. He accepted, stealing a book late in the evening before he left.
Walking back from the subway to his apartment, he heard footsteps following him. Heavy, distinct, and steady even when he cut down different streets. Easy decision- he ran, hiking up fire escapes and weaving across rooftops until they were gone.
Katherine and Davey wouldn’t see him again after that. Jack wouldn’t be at classes the next day, and certainly not at their high school graduation.
The book he’d stolen had been filled to the brim with spells of all sorts, neatly organized by common Inclinations, and if he hadn’t run into Charlie that night, Jack was quite aware that he would not have lived to see the sun rise that morning. But Charlie had taken him down to the subway, through a locked door Jack had thought was only for transit personnel, before he gawked at his friend looking upwards at a retina scanner of all things. Ever since, Jack has been Underground, and the book has been in their Weapons Wing.
Within the Underground, he sharpened his skills as a thief alongside a combat class that consisted of Racetrack, Charlie, Finch, and Albert primarily. One of their earliest missions, unfortunately, had gone south, resulting in Charlie’s paralyzing curse. Dishearteningly, this had been when Jack realized his Inclination: his magic had recognized one much stronger than his own had been used on Charlie, and the cold sinking feeling in his chest had informed Jack that he couldn’t heal Charlie at the time. It’s a consistent wonder of Jack’s about what could have happened if he’d known his Inclination, if he’d been stronger, if he could’ve reversed his friend’s curse, but he’ll never know.
But now he’s 22, on a solo mission in London, off to steal a) a sword that belongs to a family somewhere in Morocco, and b) as much cash as he sees fit. To distribute to those in need, of course.
What he doesn’t plan on is seeing David Jacobs again for the first time since Jack had disappeared five years ago.
poll #1: 20 hrs.
He never got to enjoy his afternoon tea.
Philza’s POV on the ending of the Dream SMP. 1448 words AO3 link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/43111627 Huge thanks to my friends @energy-emi1y and  @Bokuaka_Official on AO3!
He’d just put the kettle on the fire, preparing it for a nice cup of afternoon tea after an hard day of working outside in the cold, the snow that he dragged in through his boots now laying in half-molten puddles on their hard wooden floor. The lullaby he’d been murmuring as he picked through his stockpile of teabags, neatly stored in an hand-carved basket, searching for something he’d have an taste for halted abruptly in his throat as his gaze found the missile. Gazing through the open window, Philza felt his shoulders sag as he watched the projectile ascend high into the sky until it was finally lost beyond the low-hanging clouds of an cold afternoon. Hands trembling with dread, the man put the casket down before he could lose his grip on it. He’d always known that the long-lasting skirmish between Tommy and the pretend-God would eventually end the world. He never could’ve known it literally would.
             The shrill whistle of the kettle filled the room, signaling to Philza that his tea was ready. The noise startled some of the crows, perched on the shelves around the room. Phil let out a small crow in an half-hearted attempt to calm them as he allowed his mind to wander. The tea would never be cool enough in time to drink anyway. It just didn’t matter anymore. Just the other day had he met the golden-haired boy, finding him at his son’s memorial, startling the lad as the Angel of Death had descended the sky with the intent to pay his own respects to the shrine. If Tommy rapidly swept the tears away that shone in the young man’s eyes, Philza had chosen not to comment on that. He’d had let plenty of tears fall when he’d visited this site himself. There had been something fierce in Tommy’s gaze that day; a feral determination that made his sapphire-blue eyes burn like an cold, undying fire as he spoke of his plan. With their goodbyes said, did Philza had watch him go, the lad now armed with the armor and the blessing he presented him. Only after Tommy had turned his back, did Philza whisper an prayer to his late wife to keep the golden-haired man safe.
The murder of crows, the ever-so loyal flock Philza’d affectionately been calling ‘Chat’, were truly panicking now, sensing the impending doom. Their terrified caws seemed to even drown out the still sound of the whistle of the kettle, left behind to burn out on the stove. Philza let out a weary sign; he knew time was running short. The explosion would soon be upon them, destroying everything in its wake. Blowing a short, shrill whistle to his birds, he quickly gained their attention. Black beady eyes fixed on the man as they awaited his command, bristling their wings as they anticipated his words. “Go find Wilbur”, the Angel of Death breathed, his voice sounding stronger than he felt. The sound of flapping wings filled the room as the birds took wing for the open sky as they found their way through the unlocked window. There’d be no more time for goodbyes or I love you’s. It pained Philza deeply to know that he should’ve said it more when there was still time. His son had inherited his mother’s brain though, he’d have to understand. Philza hoped he would understand. The man watched the second-to-last crow reach for the open sky, finding their way to wherever Philza’s son resided. The Angel of Death’s fallen descendant would at last be getting his feathers.
             Only one crow remained, as Philza knew he would. Dave, the smallest of the flock, that Philza himself hand-fed and nursed back to health after finding the bird, still just a chick back then, freezing and alone in the winter’s cold. The bird had never really adhered to his commands, nor would he now. Little crow-feet landed on Philza’s shoulder as he tenderly nibbled at his ear. With the bird now happily perched on his shoulder, did Philza found his way to the bed chambers where he knew he’d find his friend resting. Technoblade was right where he’d expected him to be. His pupil, his ally, his best friend, would truly sleep through everything. Even the end of the world, Philza thought, though he suppressed the bleak thought almost immediately. The Piglin-Hybrid lay in a deep slumber, his chest gently rising and falling, blissfully unaware of the situation going outside his personal dream world. He looked so peaceful, Philza realized, giving him a feeling of tranquility as he eyed his friend snore softly in his sleep. They still had one Totem of Undying left; the last one remaining after the failed attempts of trying to resurrect Philza’s son, so many moons ago.
             Philza briefly considered shoving the figure into the Hybrid’s hands; saving his friends life. Yet when he watched the man he’d almost consider a second son rest so peacefully, his gaze untroubled, he recognized he couldn’t, even though the thought made his heart break even more. Technoblade would never truly forgive the Angel, nor would he let himself forget, if he were to survive. Instead, the Piglin-Hybrid would waste the rest of his days trying to find a way to resurrect his winged friend; just as he had already done for their fallen friend and member of the Syndicate, Ranboo. No, as much as the thought brought him sorrow, he knew it’d be a kinder fate to let his Technoblade rest alongside him. They’d both reconcile with their Enderman friend soon enough. Philza had to bite his cheek from screaming out in agony, the tear in his heart growing with the weight of his decision as he picked up the blanket from the ground which his friend had thrown off him in his sleep. With trembling hands, he gently tucked in his friend, suppressing the urge to give the other man a peck on the cheek like he used to do with Wil, back when his son still needed him. Delicately stroking a few pink strands of hair away from his friend’s face, he smiled down affectionately at his friend. A single tear ran down his cheek.
It’d be almost time soon. Philza strode towards the stairs, sparing the resting figure of his dearest friend one last glance as he desperately tried to ignore the lump in his throat. Finding his way through their cabin, Philza passed by the portraits of his son and his son’s best friend. He kept walking. The whistling of the kettle had ceased; apparently having given up on gaining his attention. His coat he left hanging on the coatrack as he kicked open the front door, welcoming the icy wind from outside enveloping him. The outside world was eerily quiet; all animals had fled in their attempt to survive. Some would make it to safety. The fresh layer of snow cracked underneath his boots as Philza’s scanned the horizon for the missile, finding it on it already to be on its descent soon enough. His final flight would have to be a short one.           Spreading out his wings, ignoring the freezing cold ruffling his plumage, threatening to freeze his smaller feathers, rendering them useless, did Philza take off, scattering the powdery snow surrounding him around with a powerful beat of his wings. He knew that if he turned his gaze towards the air next to him, he’d find Dave, joining him in his final ascend to the horizon. Instead, Philza kept his eyes locked on the clouds, blocking off the sun from view. Though struggling as the air grew thinner around him and his still-healing wings aching, was Philza determined to make it. He let out a yowl as he finally broke through the clouds, enjoying himself despite everything. Dave followed shortly after, cawing happily as the bird flew in circles around him. It was pleasant up here, above the clouds. The sun felt warm upon his face and Philza allowed himself to enjoy this brief moment of peace. Somewhere in the distance, somewhere far down below him on the earth, did he hear the dull sound of an explosion. The Angel of Death exhaled before folding his wings behind him, letting himself fall. Philza did not know if the fall would kill him or the blast of the explosion. The fear still lay deep in his chest as he crashed through the clouds, Dave not far behind as the bird followed him in their final dive. As the ground rushed towards him, the man closed his eyes. He knew his late wife would catch him. Philza never got to enjoy his afternoon tea.
