Don't you think it's funny cause actual canon gay characters in BL manga will say "I love you" but only the shounen bromance can spew out some of the most romantic shit akin to a 19th century poet writing a letter expressing his surpressed love for his lover 😭.....
I stg I was planning on posting about this, but since you dropped me an ask:
Being a fanfic writer is SO DIFFICULT when your “non-canon” ship already says the most romantic shit to each other.

It’s crazy how so many people misunderstand the Darkling. They look at this character who’s been enduring literal centuries of oppression and genocide and just go “he’s manipulative, crucify him.” They act like he has no empathy, as if that wasn’t the whole point of his vow to save the Grisha in the first place. I saw a post somewhere on here where someone was talking about him in Demon in the Wood, and they said “I want to make a mark on this world before I leave it” is a narcissistic thing of the Darkling to have thought. He was thirteen and didn’t want to die. He made bad decisions but he didn’t make them out of any sort of malice. Have I gone off the plot or is this just weird?
You hit bullseye, anon.
But do you know what's the funny thing?
That the antis always talk about "morality": "The Darkling shouldn't have do this", "the Darkling shouldn't have done that".
But at the matters of genocide, experimentation and slavery they keep their mouth shut. They don't speak about the issues of morality there and they only target the Darkling.
Which I find a very narrow-minded approach but since the narrative itself targeted Aleksander instead of those larger issues then you can't expect the fans to see the other side unless they possess critical, objective thinking.
And about the quote “Let me make a mark on this world before I leave it”, it is connected with how Aleksander viewed the lives of his people:
“It's like this wherever we go, though. Grisha living in smelly camps, broken-down mines, hiding out in tunnels. Grisha don't own land, always live on the run. None of it feels...real. Permanent.”
- Demon in the Wood (graphic novel)
Grisha came and went from that world without "leaving" anything behind. They were shadows and dust with a life worthless and meaningless. And even if some Grisha left a reputation behind, it was tainted and dipped in infamy. Otkazat'sya wanted nothing of them to be left behind.
So when Aleksander said "Let me a make a mark on this world before I leave it" he meant that he wanted to do something for this world, to leave something behind and not die in this lake like all the previous Grisha that died and no one remembers them.
And it turns out that he succeeded in that. He built a home for the Grisha and became a leader. Probably the first Grisha leader ever. And even though his reputation was mostly dark, people still talk about him. So it's a win! 💋

yoo can you do an essay on wolfstar? i wanna see what your opinion of it is lol
I personally like Wolfstar! I’m not a HUGE fan of it nor am I a huge fan of the marauders fandom in general (if you want, I can go more in depth on that) but yea, I l personally like it. I mean, Sirius was a better option for Remus than Tonks was, he was willing to leave her twice! And the whole hug moment in the movies was so sweet, it was if we were seeing two lovers rejoice together after they were forcibly separated. I don’t really have much too say about Wofstar without going into details of my opinions on the marauders fandom which is VERY controversial so yea, this is pretty much all I have to say about Wolfstar, it’s sweet, it’s gay, what’s not to like? Thanks for the ask btw! ILYSM!!! 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️

you’ve heard of ass/boobs/thigh preference but can i interest you in neck/back/wrist preference
- 🔨
neck: joshua, wonwoo, jun, jeonghan, seokmin
they get that schoolgirl kind of rush when you pull your hair back or touch the back of your neck. loves kissing your neck and i think you could bring a grown man to their knees if you kissed theirs. also people i think who would love to do your hair.
back: cheol, mingyu, seungkwan, hoshi
team feral tbh...i think they just love seeing any part of you but like... when you stretch out and they can see all your muscles and the length of your body. or when you take off your sweatshirt and that little bit of skin peeks out...yeah.
wrist: minghao, jihoon, chan, vernon
CLOSET ROMANTICS. whether it's a hair tie or a bracelet around your wrist i think they would just love to look. and then they think about holding your hand. the way your wrist would feel in their grip. ok.

fav TWOMP episode till date ? (this includes GWA eps too)
THIS IS SUCH A TOUGH QUESTION…. omg… i tend to prefer twomp episodes over gardening with argos, just because theyre serial episodes whereas gwa are more episodic. (both are very episodic given the nature of analogue horror) my favorites are either mr plants new job and mr plant sees the stars. i also love black beach but everyone loves that episode.
i love mr plants new job for so many reasons.. especially the extended cut of that episode idk why. it feels like one of the episodes where ashur has stretched the most and shows off his growth at that point, yet it also feels like The quintessential ashur video. it’s so cool there’s three new masks in that video, ashur does some puppeteering, there isn’t stop motion, but i can’t complain because of the nature of that episode. it’s just fun to see a murderous side of mr plant after mr plant has been pretty tame to this point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
my plant sees the stars was the first twomp episode that was released when i was a fan!! it’s a really special episode to me and kind of documents the start of an era for me. also it’s such an interesting episode. it’s nice to see mr plant in the vulnerable situation for once when we see argos put in those situations. this episode is more so a feel-good summertime episode. it’s nice to finally have payoff for argos time and time again asking mr plant to go stargazing with him!

I always feel like I need to make agreeable characters when I play dnd. I really aspire to have something like what you have with Blythe. Cuz she's clearly a very strong personality that isn't afraid to be difficult to her party members, but she also isn't derailing the campaign by being a bad fit for the party. That's such an awesome balance to achieve!
HILARIOUSLY, Blythe actually is very well liked in the campaign for the most part, there is only one singular character that dislikes her (Kasimir - partially due to her clear relationship to Rahadin)I play her as a highly charismatic, sweet talking, playful woman that can absolutely play nice to grease the wheels.
While yes, people can see that is ...well crazy, it's very clear she is not malicious for no reason, which she isn't! Up until recently she was the only evil party member, so she balanced out when other party members didn't want to get their hands dirty but something needed to be done. She is Neutral Evil just meaning she can go do unsavoury things to achieve her goals, and if her goals align with the party...well power to them! They have someone absolutely fucking insane that WILL get the job done, morals aside!
The other point is that Blythe is diplomatic. She may be opinionated but she does her best to avoid violence, unless it's an 100% fight she can win, and even then. She prefers to conserve resources in this manner, to avoid conflict and talk her way out of problems.
Just because she has a strong personality, and is an evil character doesn't mean she will be at odds with the good characters; plenty evil characters hide their unsavoury traits behind closed doors and can spin them to seem like they're reasonable. She's a silver tongued devil so to speak.
Most characters just seem hesitant to approach her in a romantic manner in case she get's offended because she can cast fireball upon ye :/
That and well. Keeping up with the level of excitement she seeks in her life.

Okay wait wait wait maybe I’m hallucinating but the dialogue in this show tends to parallel each other so like what if when Swk started taunting Mac about “screwing off to your master, the lady bone demon is waiting” like what if Mac before The Monkey Pancakening said something like that to Swk about “running off to the monk” v different context tho of course. Surprised there’s not much commentary abt how Mac literally doesn’t want to be working for Lbd and doesn’t care even after he said he wanted to be on the winning side and already had a taste of death and wasn’t a fan. He says it like nearly every fight. Is this one of those instances where it’s different for the show characters and I only care about the red flags as an outside viewer not getting attacked by a smoke monster 😭
dw anon you're remembering right! parallels in dialogue is a THING™️ in this show and it makes me so unwell (@imminent-danger-came has a plethora of #lmk parallels on their blog. thank you for all your hard work bestie)
that being said: WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU SAY THAT T^T DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID????? DO YOU KNOW THE DAMAGE YOU INFLICTED ON ME?????
but yeah, it would make so much sense to be a callback from what Macky said in the past to swk. it's like his way of throwing memories and Macky's own hypocrisy. he greeted swk by reminding the other about their argument under the mountain. so why not have that other reminder be from swk??? why fucking not!

By the way, do you believe Eddy's mistreatment of Edd and Ed is, in some level, his confused, mistaken way of showing affection for them? I mean, we know he follows Bro a lot, believes he loves him and makes everything for his well (''maybe I was a little tough... but that's how my brother taught me'') and this reflects on his treatement of his friends... Essentially Eddy sees Edd and Ed as his surrogate brothers (sometimes being protective of them and all), but he also do has a utterly twisted vision of how brothers act and has no idea of how showing love in a healthy way, which not involves abuse?
i think that's a valid theory! especially with ed since he's sort of the "big" brother he SHOULD have had. i'm not really sure what i think though. we know violence was normalized for eddy from a very young age, and i think it's kinda just something he defaults to without giving it much thought. it's the most effective way to get his point across, or get people to do what he wants - it always worked on him at least. i also imagine eddy is the type that doesn't realize how forceful he's actually being until someone tells him. "c'mon, i didn't even hit you THAT hard ya big baby." so i don't necessarily think he's always trying to cause grave bodily harm, but i don't know if i'd say it's affectionate? it could be! i don't know enough about that kind of thing to really theorize.
i gotta ask the expert here, @gettingfrilly, who can undoubtedly provide a better analysis of it, if/when they have the time. they touched on the way eddy views violence in their post about eddy + empathy which i've linked previously. i should probably just link their analyses in my pinned post at this point lol.

/gen, i saw the “uncharitable jedi takes” in response to that last ask (i love it), and i just had a question about the “war crimes” box because it’s the only one i feel has a bit of… validity i guess? i know the typical response to that is the geneva conventions don’t exist in star wars and therefore stuff like false surrender isn’t a war crime but it still feels weird to me? i guess i’m just interested in the deconstruction of that accusation? again, /gen
Hello anon! Thank you for a genuine ask! I will try to give a decent breakdown of why I find the accusation flimsy.
So, "war crimes" is a box on the card because it's often thrown around as a very serious condemnation of the Jedi without consideration for what makes the accusation so serious. Usually the accusation is thrown with the intent of evoking an emotional & moral reaction against the Jedi through the same emotional & moral reaction one would have against war crimes. This tends to gloss over what actually makes a war crime.
War crimes are a rejection of the concept that war justifies brutality and inhumane atrocities. The root of this is harm done to people. This article is from the BBC and gives a brief overview of what a war crime is, why they were codified into international law, and some of what constitutes a war crime. (The article is dated from 2014, so you may want to find more up to date or detailed sources if you're doing more research, but I thought it was a concise & well-written overview that helps explain the point I want to make. It's a quick read, check it out before you continue.)
When people make this accusation against the Jedi, they often cite examples where the Jedi are fighting a droid army. Battle droids are not people. Battle droids are machines designed to autonomously kill people. These machines do not have any true choice or free will of their own. "We're independent thinkers. Roger, roger," indicates that each machine is individually autonomous and will carry out its designed function & programming as long as it remains functional. That programming is to kill and destroy. I reiterate: it will kill and destroy, on its own, until it is deactivated, destroyed, or given other orders.
Now I pose the following questions: is it a crime to deceive and destroy these machines? Should these machines be given the same regard as any life form? Is there harm done when these machines are destroyed? Should the safety of these machines be given equal consideration as the lives they are programmed to end?
Star Wars is not science fiction. It is fantasy in a science fiction setting. The sentience of droids is not the point and battle droids especially are not treated with any form of sentience in the narrative because they are not sentient life forms.
Should the Jedi treat machines with the same respect they treat living people? Or, do they have a duty to protect life from killing machines? Should they use the same tactics on droids that they use on people? Or, do they have more options to defeat the onslaught because they do not need to consider enemy lives as there are no enemy lives?
If the Jedi are to be accused of "war crimes" at least put a living enemy on the other side. Ki-Adi resorting to extreme weapons against the Geonosians? Sure, there are questions to be asked about the ethics, but to respond fairly, the full circumstances must be considered, and if it's to be called a war crime there's a higher bar for that argument. Should he prioritize enemy lives over the lives of his own troopers? When the willing enemy combatants are defending factories that build extermination machines? There is no perfectly moral answer; there isn't always a perfectly moral answer. These are situations where you get to make your own judgment call about the story. Do you think it's unethical? Do you think it constitutes a war crime? Do you think it's worthy of prosecution? How do you weigh your personal opinion against the narrative intention in your interpretation of the story?
When the accusation of "war crimes" is thrown at the Jedi, it's very often not accurate to start with, and ignores the reason that war crimes are so serious. I've seen many accusations of "war crimes" thrown that tell what a war crime is, but don't talk about why it's bad, because when you consider why a war crime is a crime, the argument against the Jedi starts falling apart.
tldr: is it a "war crime" if the victim is a non-living machine designed to kill living people?
Other people have written some good metas that explore this question from other angles, I'll link some below the cut if you're interested in further reading
This one (by @trickytricky1) goes into whether or not Obi-Wan actually commits perfidy in the TCW Movie.
This one (by @writerbuddha) is similar and includes an example of Anakin in TCW.
This one (by @monjustmon) explores what we know of in-universe laws regarding war crimes.
This one (by @smhalltheurlsaretaken) discusses characters that are portrayed as war criminals.
This one (by @lethebantroubadour) provides a list of acts committed by the Separatists which do have living victims and should constitute war crimes.

I honestly love your depiction of Slenderman and the mansion. As much as I love the whole Slenderman treating everyone with love and being a found family with the residents of the mansion, it feels so refreshing seeing Slenderman act similar to how you portray him! Also, I’m very curious hearing more about slender and Sally’s relationship in the future (or now lol)!!
i'm glad to hear that!! i feel like i've never really given slender much thought or attention before so i feel like my depiction of it is rusty compared to a lot of the other creepypastas so i'm glad to hear that you enjoy it <3
as for slender's relationship with sally:
we all know that slender does Not like children. it goes out of its way to harm them, and actively avoids them in the case that it can't. that's what it did with sally for a really long time.
it avoided her, and treated her mostly like a pest it couldn't get rid of. seeing as she was a permanent resident of the mansion, it can't exactly get rid of her. and the mansion enjoys her company too, so alas. it was stuck dealing with her.
like i said, it took a lot of time and patience for slender to even view sally as something worth its time and attention. it took even longer for it to grow to care about her.
but sally is stubborn when she wants to be, and when she decided she wanted to befriend the strange, faceless, tall man well buddy pal there was nothing that could stop her. she had a goal in mind, and she was determined to achieve it.
and the mansion helped out, of course. because the mansion was, at this point, the only real 'companion' that slender had. she wanted it to make bonds with people it could actually communicate with.
and in the beginning, slender hated that everywhere it went when visiting the mansion, sally would be there with a bright smile on her face, eagerly asking questions about its existence and asking whether or not it wanted to join her for tea and even going as far as to introduce it to her toys one by one.
it was annoyed, at first. it would brush her off, maybe even vanish the moment it saw sally approaching.
honestly, slender wouldn't be able to tell you when it started to care for her. maybe it was the first time it saw her crying, or maybe she had worn it down so much that it just didn't have the energy to ignore and avoid her anymore. but at some point, it did grow to care for her.
it stopped vanishing whenever it saw her. it answered her questions when she asked it. it started to remember all the names and titles of her plushies. and one day, it had even hesitantly agreed to accompany her for tea. she was ecstatic at this, and thus the tea parties became a frequent whenever it was around.
sally is the only child that slender cares about. it tolerates ben and lazari, but every other child? no. it will more than likely never grow to care for one the way it cares for sally.
sally is basically slender's daughter now.

What's your favorite animal(s)?
Ohohooooo I have many, many, many animals I love with all my heart, so I'll divide them into categories : birds, fishes, reptiles, and mammals.
Birb: The Potoo 👁 🔻 👁
I mean, just look at it. It also has some folklore around it that I find really interesting, and some native tribes used its feathers in ceremonies. It's a shame that because of its call, some people kill it because they think it's an omen of death.
Tumblr media
Fish: Leopard shark 🦈
Nature really said "peak character design" on this one. It's so pretty and friendly and small, aaaaahh I love it your honor, I want to treasure it and watch it grow up and have a family .
Tumblr media
Reptiles: Gold dust day gecko
Look at this color scheme, so pleasant so colorful. I like creatures that look like they come straight out of Pandora from that avatar movie. Blue toes, hehehe
Tumblr media
Mammals: Maned wolf
Not a wolf, not a fox. It's just doing its thing and showing those supermodel legs. Babe's ready for vogue!
Tumblr media
But yeah, those are some of my favorites. Thank you for the question, anon. You are really sweet!
What are your favorite animal(s)?

a tumblr user made a point which i never thought of before - they said that if hannibal had to toss a coin to see whether or not he should save bella, that means bella's wishes means as much to him as his own. i think ppl forget that if bella died, jack would blame hannibal and would go along muchmore quickly to will's side of events, and there would be more scrutiny into hannibal if he let a patient die in his office, which isn't good for him considering the suspicions surrounding him. to say hannibal was playing god implies he's removed from the consequences, but he's not. here he was faced with a choice - self preservation (and favour with jack) or going with bella's wishes (and losing jack's favour and have the FBI peer into his patient history, probably). that he was even torn about it suggests the depth of his feelings for bella. i don't think he acted out of whimsy considering he genuinely cares about and respects bella, and cried at her death. bryan fuller talked about this too, and said hannibal loves and respects bella.
hey anon thanks for sharing this! it’s an interesting point and highlights hannibal’s complexity. I still think there’s layers here though and it’s not so black and white. you’re right to say that hannibal isn’t removed from consequences and that he isn’t god, but I think this unveiling is part of his arc. if not god, then hannibal at least thinks he’s superior (hence the cannibalism) and part of his transformation involves coming to terms with his humanity, which only happens when he gives himself up at the end of s3a. will sparks this whole transformation because he’s the only person hannibal views as his equal. it’s why mizumono is such a dramatic turning point for hannibal’s character, since he’s forced to confront his own vulnerability (which challenges his worldview). he didn’t think anyone could change or influence him to this extent, but will does. the only other person to have this kind of power over him is mischa
however, even if hannibal’s capacity to love and care for people is limited, I do agree it’s worth considering. I think it’s very likely that he cares for bella, and he definitely respects her, but I also think he loves selfishly and destructively. he may view sparing her as an act of mercy, and he may grieve her after she passes, but he still prioritises himself and his freedom to choose. this is why she slaps him later, because he took that choice from her. even if he was torn, he still believed he had authority over her life. he would’ve let her die just as easily as he would’ve let her live, and if deciding was as easy as a coin toss then I don’t think he views bella equally. he behaves similarly with abigail. he cares for them the only way he knows how, and considering his lack of empathy and narcissism I don’t think hannibal’s compassion amounts to much. it doesn’t mean it’s nonexistent though
this is what I meant in my original post. I think it’s difficult for us to interpret hannibal’s actions when they don’t align with what we understand. he cares for bella yet has no problem stripping her of her autonomy and deciding her fate for her. we see an act of love, or evidence which suggests it, and struggle to reconcile it with simultaneous acts of cruelty. hannibal’s humanity uncomfortably coexists with his monstrosity, and he somehow manages to be both and neither at the same time
