Re: Gaslighter Rook. I wanna preface this by saying ofc people are free to hc whatever they want but I have some issues with what the other person said and how dismissive they acted about the whole thing. I apologize if this invites drama or discourse, that is absolutely not my intention, I moreso just want to share the other side's point of view for the sake of balance since you said you don't mind civil discussion even if we disagree. Firstly, yes a lot of the arguments for this come from the labcoat vignette. However, it is not all just because of one line. In the same vignette, Rook tells Vil he can't trust his own eyes because Rook knows him better than Vil knows himself which is a very common gaslighter tactic. He then further mentions that people will leave him unless he does what Rook tells him to and puts down the "me or everyone else" argument. Rook further tries to undermine Vil's ability to trust other people in Vil's dorm vignette by saying the other dorm members would never appreciate Vil's efforts for them even if they knew about them – a blatant lie that however still makes Vil withdraw from talking to them about it. During Vil's overblot, Rook refuses to give Vil personal space while he's having a mental breakdown and repeatedly asserts that Vil "doesn't deserve" it as well as claiming to be responsible for punishing him. After VDC, Rook not only claims that his vote was the deciding one despite having no way of knowing that but also claims it was the objectively correct thing to do as, again, Vil didn't deserve to win, simply because having a mental breakdown is ugly (since he was referring to the overblot, not the attempted cursing – which was never confirmed to be intended to be lethal by the way, that was also just Rook's assumption, one Vil, a character who already struggles to communicate with people especially if he feels they see him negatively, didn't fight but also didn't confirm). I also take issue with the claim that it cannot be abuse just because Vil respects Rook. Even ignoring how often irl abuse victims don't realize they're abused because of their warped perception of their abuser, we have examples of this even in twst. Mrs. Rosehearts wasn't a wonderful mother who suddenly became abusive when Riddle stopped making excuses for her behavior. Abuse doesn't stop being abuse because it isn't recognized and to a lot of us gaslighting victims, Rook's behavior is spot-on with things we went through, hence why we call him a gaslighter. Oh and a small note before anyone claims anything, according to multiple psychology sources, gaslighters aren't always aware of what they are doing. Me and others calling Rook a gaslighter don't automatically mean he WANTS to be evil toward Vil. Some of us see it that way while others don't but regardless, acting as though this headcanon comes from one single out of context line and not from a pattern of behavior Rook consistently displays feels very disingenuous and like it's trying to make us seem crazy when all we try to do is explain why we may not be comfortable with a character.
You don’t have to explain why you are uncomfortable. Neither me nor that Anon have made any judgment about it, and frankly, who cares why you don’t like a character. You don’t need reasoning for not liking him, a person might just think Rook’s hair is stupid or dislike characters with green eyes, and that’s enough. None of this makes you crazy, and this isn’t that deep.
If you look at the first ever reply I did on this topic, I said it then (and after that I said it time and time again):
Based on what you’re saying, your opinion is influenced by your past experiences. Which isn’t a bad thing, we all have our own biases, but it makes a proper discussion quite difficult, especially when there is trauma involved.
Because we love Rook as much as you hate him, and I fail to see why we should align our feelings and experiences with yours. This is not a public debate platform, this is not a discord server, this is my personal blog, and my opinion is always going to be prevalent here. I usually try to take the position “agree to disagree” also to avoid situations like this.
You’ve said that you just want to explain and share your side of the conversation, but in that case claiming that the other side’s opinion is dangerous or uninformed is a pretty shitty thing to do, just as it is shitty to completely ignore the points they were trying to make and put words into their mouths instead, alluding to them victimblaming and dismissing real victim’s struggles. What I’ve said multiple times at this point is that Rook Hunt isn’t a gaslighter. Not that it’s Vil’s fault for trusting him, not that if Vil respects him that it automatically makes Rook not an abuser (Anon didn’t say that either). Not that Rook is always right. Not that Rook has never hurt Vil. I’ve even said that we can’t say for certain that Rook’s brutal honesty is always helpful and doesn’t affect Vil in any bad way:
Maybe sometimes it would be better for Vil to just take it easy and relax instead of perfecting every single thing, but this isn’t what Vil wants for himself: he doesn’t want to be pampered, he wants to be appreciated for his hard work.
Just because this is what Vil wants doesn’t mean that this is what’s best for him. I still don’t think that it makes Rook an abuser, by the way (which is also a completely different topic from Rook being a gaslighter). You have ignored every single argument I’ve made in all of my previous replies, which is fine, but then I don’t really see the reason for you to explain yourself if you’re not even going to listen to me again.
No one tried to paint you as crazy, and even if I or Anon thought that this entire argument (argument, not you) was weird, it doesn’t concern you. If Rook Hunt hurts you, why would you even interact with any discourse about him? Why did that very first Anon confront me for not calling Rook a gaslighter, if all you (collective “you”) people wish for is to explain your point of view? I am not an emperor of Rook Hunt land; I am a rando writing hcs about dicks on the internet. And Rook Hunt is a character of a gacha game.
I’ll repost another thing from my very first reply.
Just ignore shit that you don’t like because while it might be traumatic for you, to us it might be one of the few things that bring us happiness.
Please read this part carefully. And respectfully, let’s stop this. I don’t agree with any of your points/interpretation, I find them drastically off from Rook’s actual characterisation to the point that it’s almost baffling at times (I have read all the scenes you’ve mentioned and I disagree with your every single point.) And guess what, it’s absolutely okay. Like I, wow, have said time and time again, we all have our biases. Yours happens to be to read everything that Rook does in the worst way possible and to compare him to Riddle’s mom. Mine happens to be very different, and insisting on me just missing the point or thinking or feeling the wrong way or not being educated enough about gaslighting or abuse (something that I also experienced, and you are aware of that) feels pretty disrespectful. This isn’t what I meant when I said that I don’t mind a civil conversation. This doesn’t feel like a conversation. Because, you know…
Even if it feels completely off to how I view it, I can appreciate or at least respect it if they respect the way I do things. And don’t imply that I don’t get it or I am stupid.
I won’t write an actual rebuttal to your points because one thing hasn’t changed from my very first post about the topic: this isn’t about Rook Hunt. And I don’t want to discuss the so-called danger of fictional tropes that don’t even apply to the character in my view. Also, stating that the way I headcanon a character’s behaviour and share my thoughts with others is dangerous to other people in real life (because someone is going to take my opinion as a course for their actions, I guess?) is also ironic. Why isn’t me drawing problematic ships or writing dark headcanons dangerous then? It’s the same logic, I have heard this argument multiple times, and I fail to see how it’s different right now. Rook Hunt is not a real person, we see his interactions with others from all points of view, he has actual writers with their own intentions (none of which is to portray Rook as a terrible, atrocious person, he’s not even 100% a villain, he’s a character that helped the princess in the original story, and I believe that his writers keep that in mind, ffs), and it is drastically different from the way I would treat this situation in real life: exactly because I would have to base my opinion on the lack of other perspectives and not witnessing the situations myself, and a bunch of other factors connected to the fact that this is real life, and in those cases I would prioritise the victim of someone’s suspicious actions. What a surprise.
I also believe that Katsu and I did our part so you could easily ignore our Rook-centric posts that make you uncomfortable. So please do your part and don’t interact with our Rook-centric posts (this applies to anyone who is deeply uncomfortable with this character or any other character, for that matter). Coming up with ways to mention Rook in posts so it's easily mutable for you and only you and still getting treated like an abuse apologist who spreads dangerous ideas makes one feel kind of silly for ever trying to be considerate and respectful. You’ll have to come up with ways to deal with that on your own now. This conversation is over.
This is also the last post I’m writing on this topic, every follow-up ask or comment about it (from anyone, anywhere) won’t be replied to.

a tumblr user made a point which i never thought of before - they said that if hannibal had to toss a coin to see whether or not he should save bella, that means bella's wishes means as much to him as his own. i think ppl forget that if bella died, jack would blame hannibal and would go along muchmore quickly to will's side of events, and there would be more scrutiny into hannibal if he let a patient die in his office, which isn't good for him considering the suspicions surrounding him. to say hannibal was playing god implies he's removed from the consequences, but he's not. here he was faced with a choice - self preservation (and favour with jack) or going with bella's wishes (and losing jack's favour and have the FBI peer into his patient history, probably). that he was even torn about it suggests the depth of his feelings for bella. i don't think he acted out of whimsy considering he genuinely cares about and respects bella, and cried at her death. bryan fuller talked about this too, and said hannibal loves and respects bella.
hey anon thanks for sharing this! it’s an interesting point and highlights hannibal’s complexity. I still think there’s layers here though and it’s not so black and white. you’re right to say that hannibal isn’t removed from consequences and that he isn’t god, but I think this unveiling is part of his arc. if not god, then hannibal at least thinks he’s superior (hence the cannibalism) and part of his transformation involves coming to terms with his humanity, which only happens when he gives himself up at the end of s3a. will sparks this whole transformation because he’s the only person hannibal views as his equal. it’s why mizumono is such a dramatic turning point for hannibal’s character, since he’s forced to confront his own vulnerability (which challenges his worldview). he didn’t think anyone could change or influence him to this extent, but will does. the only other person to have this kind of power over him is mischa
however, even if hannibal’s capacity to love and care for people is limited, I do agree it’s worth considering. I think it’s very likely that he cares for bella, and he definitely respects her, but I also think he loves selfishly and destructively. he may view sparing her as an act of mercy, and he may grieve her after she passes, but he still prioritises himself and his freedom to choose. this is why she slaps him later, because he took that choice from her. even if he was torn, he still believed he had authority over her life. he would’ve let her die just as easily as he would’ve let her live, and if deciding was as easy as a coin toss then I don’t think he views bella equally. he behaves similarly with abigail. he cares for them the only way he knows how, and considering his lack of empathy and narcissism I don’t think hannibal’s compassion amounts to much. it doesn’t mean it’s nonexistent though
this is what I meant in my original post. I think it’s difficult for us to interpret hannibal’s actions when they don’t align with what we understand. he cares for bella yet has no problem stripping her of her autonomy and deciding her fate for her. we see an act of love, or evidence which suggests it, and struggle to reconcile it with simultaneous acts of cruelty. hannibal’s humanity uncomfortably coexists with his monstrosity, and he somehow manages to be both and neither at the same time

🪷 girl fuck these people I'm really sorry you're getting so many messages bitching about no smut in ch10. Like who even cares? Does a story or chapter have no value if the characters aren't going at it like rabbits and fucking and sucking on each other?
At this point if you're so disappointed about no hanky panky just go read one of those pornhwas where the characters start screwing at the drop of a hat.
I would've loved that chapter with smut or without smut idgaf it doesn't even matter to me (and the same is for most of your readers too, I'm sure of it). We've all stuck around with your work for so long, and we have faith in your direction as well as your decisions regarding the pace of the plot. It's never that serious, especially not to the stage that bozos feel the need to weep in a writer's asks and swamp them with negative messages. Go jack off or play dj with your hello kitty and go to sleep like the rest of us.
Again, no matter what you do with your work it's entirely your choice. Ofc we as readers can have our own takes and how or why we interact with the work can vary, but it shouldn't reach this stage. I've seen this same story of bullying and pestering authors on tumblr too many times with other authors whose work I enjoy, and many have left their blogs because the harassment made them lose interest in writing and sharing their pieces. It's fucking heartbreaking. Pornhub dot com is right there for y'all to be doing entirely too much in the asks of these writers who are already overwhelmed and write and share all this FOR FREE. If you have so many qualms about it pick up that bic and get to writing bitch!
I'm sorry babe take care! We love you🫂
AHHH LILYPAD ANON I APPRECIATE U SM THIS MEANS THE WORLD TO ME 😭😭 you’re always so kind to me i sobs
yeahh sigh :( i was just a bit upset that ppl were already finding fault w a chapter i haven’t even released yet just bc it doesn’t have smut in it 😭😭 like i obviously know by now that i can’t make everyone happy, but it’s not right to subtly pressure me into a certain direction for my story (ik this is a normal thing authors/writers have to deal with, i am just a weakling unfortunately 💀💀 my therapist wld agree)
i know it’s not most of my readers though :”) everyone is so sweet n kind n patient, i just don’t understand the some few that think that just bc they tell me they’re disappointed there’s no smut, that i’m somehow gonna go back to my 80pg dissertation of a chapter n make it 100pgs just to add some for them 😅…like no. what it DOES make me feel is icky n sad
frankly it’s really uncomfortable to make an author feel bad that there’s no explicit sexual content in a story 😅 your horny brainrot is showing. like, i AM def planning to write smut in kickoff, there will be multiple smut scenes to come. but even if i suddenly chose not to include them anymore, that’s my right to do so.
and yes, if they want smut, they can write it themselves. why do i need to be the one to write it for you? i don’t owe anyone anything.
i totally agree w you. honestly, i feel bad sometimes setting these boundaries, but you’re SO RIGHT in that SO many authors leave their platforms bc of hateful asks/pressuring comments etc, i’ve seen it time n time again. bc it’s true that it DOES get to people, especially when creating art is already a very stressful thing. i don’t have to passively tolerate rude strangers on the internet just because i’m trying to protect n pursue my passion
thanks sm for trusting my direction :”) and YES absolutely!! i love it when my readers disagree w character actions or emotions, bc characters have flaws n i’m intentional about those flaws, so it’s exciting to see opinions my readers have, even if they’re in disagreement, because it’s interactive w my work. not that i expect anyone to interact ever. i understand that i post on my own accord, so readers can choose whether to interact on their accord as well.
but something about pressuring me into writing explicit sexual content into a story that i’d like to think is a lot more than just smut, is really disheartening.

Hello and welcome my loves 🤗 ❤️
Yes, this is an update version of my introduction page but who gives a shit? So, this is a lot but dw, I’ll bold the most important stuff. Anyways, Hello, I’m ThatSlytherinbitch, it’s nice to meet you. Give to know a little bit more about me and what you should expect from my blog:
I’m a Potterhead, I love making stupidly long Harry Potter analysis about certain ships and/or characters so, if you have any suggestions, feel free to ask me!
Oh, and that’s another thing, feel free to send me ask, i personally, LOVE receiving asks. Also, feel free to dm me whenever you feel like it, I’m always down for a chat :)
I’m a multi-shippers and I open to a lot of ships so, just be respectful about my opinions, and not just only to me but towards EVERYONE’S opinions (unless it’s hateful or offensive) Have your own opinions and don’t judge others for what they think, okay? Good :)
I’m part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I’m a lesbian, I’m Aegosexual, and I’m Demiagender. I go by They/Them and She/They
Random fun fact that nobody cares about: I’m Hispanic and Christian :)
So, this is very important. Like I said earlier, I’m a Potterhead, and with that being said… I disagree with She-who-must-not-be-named comments on Trans people. Fuck her!
DNI if you’re a bigot (Homophobic, Transphobic, Racist, Misogynistic, Fatphobic, Anti-Furry, Xenophobic, etc.) if you’re a Pro-shipper, if you’re very narrow minded, if you’re paedophile (I’ll keep this one updated)
This is a safe space for anyone and everyone except if you are someone from the DNI list I made. But everyone else is welcomed!
I should get this out, I use cuss words and slurs a lot, I only uses slurs that apply to me ofc, like the word faggot, like I text my friends a lot starting with “Hello faggot” HOWEVER, I would never use it on someone unless they have completely informed me that they are not offended by me saying it. Same goes for some other cuss words like bitch or whore or, well you get it.
I LOVE making friends and mutuals on tumblr so, please, I’m desperate lol. I also love to message people and interact with them but, I prefer it if they start messaging first since I don’t want to bother anyone lol. Oh also, don’t feel bad about tagging me in tag games, you’re never being a bother to me love and i personally enjoy being tagged, makes me feel special or something lol.
Oh this is very important: If and when you follow me, i message you a small thank you message, it’s nothing super personal but I really do appreciate to see that people support me. If you however feel uncomfortable comfortable with this, just let me know and I will not message you from then on.
Notice: I’m also a Gleek and I’m such a simp for Darren Criss lol, if you want more of that content then check out my side blog, @justasimp4darrencriss
(P.S. I refuse to believe that anyone has actually took their time to read all this shit lol)
Take care of yourself loves! ILYSM!!!
😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️

Uhm, hello there 🌙
I heard you’re on this awful trip at the moment (you better receive many more back rubs from your partner, if he’s there as well) and I’m sorry if this makes it all worse, but I just had a question and I don’t know who else to ask (though obviously I’m aware that it’s not your job to educate me on this topic, and you’re not fucking google ofc)
So I’m writing this modern muggle au right, and you know how since Remus cannot be a werewolf in them, people often give him a chronic illness or make him deaf or blind, but would it be disrespectful to make him trans ??
In the sense that, no idea what the origin of werewolves is, but it’s giving cis straight white guy from centuries ago not getting any girls creating this monster based on periods, because he’s a cis straight white man that’s not getting any girls.
Soo, what if Remus’ dad is a transphobe, but maybe not on J.K. Rowling level, ‘cause apparently he wasn’t a horrible father in canon (though who gives a fuck about canon ?), but maybe he has this whole thing going on about, don’t let children get surgeries, or teens take hormones, they’re too young to be sure yet (which is still an awful view, obviously, just slightly less horrible) but then there’s 4 year old Remus realising he’s trans. And then instead of turning into animagi, once the rest of the marauders realise he’s trans, Sirius goes to Reg to know how to make this all easier for Remus, and they try to show him that it’s safe for him to come out to them if he ever feels like it, and stuff (this is getting to long so gotta cut it short)
Anyways, is that disrespectful ?? Because that’s not at all my intention, but I’m scared that it is …  Feel free to verbally kick my ass though if it is, do not hold back
Hello hello. Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply to this.
So first, obviously I’m just one person and not like the authority of the trans community, so another trans person might disagree with me. I’m sure you know that but I feel like I need to give the disclaimer anyways.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with making Remus trans. I think all the reasons you listed make sense. However, I don’t think making him trans in place of having a disability is okay. Because being trans isn’t a disability. You know? I think it would actually be great if he was trans and had a disability.
Anyways, that’s my opinion. 💗

hi! i love your account so much :) so i was just wondering, do you think that duke and dick are somewhat similar characters? i feel like externally they appear different, but they seem to share a lot of values. i was just wondering if you had an opinion/wanted to weigh in on this
The short answer is, “No lmao”. The slightly longer answer is; It depends? If you’re just comparing their moral/value system, then yeah, almost all vigilantes run on a pretty similar moral code. But I wouldn’t go so far as to call their characters similar. If you mean in characterization and esp in presentation, then there’s something we can have a little fun with playing around with and meta-ing about. Esp if we want to compare their leadership styles and how quickly they can think on their feet in a fight. I would absolutely, Very Generally say they’ve got some similarities in that regard!
But my Extra Long answer to this is gonna be under the cut:
Overall, this feels like a very loaded question, given that Dick has 80+ years of comics history to parse through, compared to Duke’s 7-ish. And then even if we do narrow it down to only One or a few of Dick’s characterizations, that still leaves so much up in the air for me. Are we talking Wolfman-Perez Titans-era Dick? Are we talking late 90s/early aughts Dixon/Grayson Dick (who i know most dick stans disavow lmao)? N52/Rebirth? Pre52/Morrison’s “DickBats”? (or do we say that everything after Bob Kane & Bill Finger’s time is all Elaborate Fanfic and call it a day haha)
Reading for Duke isn’t as difficult, because comparatively speaking, it’s a very short list. And while I have read through Dick’s time as Batman (bc of my Damian reading), or some one-offs like Robin: Year One, I’m by no means a Dick Expert the same way that I am for Duke, and don’t feel comfortable making comparisons between the two characters. (But I’m sure there are other fans who Have read for both and who would be more than happy to wax poetic comparing and contrasting them, and yall feel more than free to tag this blog if you make that meta!! I’d love to read it!)
What I CAN speak to, however, are three very specific times where Dick and Duke directly interacted:
1) is that during Robin War, the writers for that event DID make it a point to match up each of Duke’s Robins with a fellow/similar Official™ Robin (sans steph bc R I P i guess. we all know she n Riko woulda made the PERFECT match-up tho srsly). Duke was matched up with Dick. And the Watsonian reason for it makes sense, as Duke was the leader of his Robin team, and Dick was recognizing that initiative as the First Robin. (the Doylist reason being ofc, that Duke’s the Main Character of We Are Robin & therefore gets matched with The First Robin™ to reflect his importance in the narrative)
2) We see one other canon interaction between Dick and Duke during King’s run on Batman (the infamous Batburger scene), and what fans choose to extrapolate from it, I’ll leave up to them (although I personally don’t put too much stock into it, given how short the scene itself is). What we can conclude is that, once again, very generally speaking, Duke and Dick seem to get along, even if they disagree on things.
3) This last interaction I’m hesitant to point out, would the Tales from the Dark Multiverse one-off. And I hesitate, because by all means, it’s an elseworld/future story. It’s not 100% reflective of canon, it’s a one-and-done adventure. But it’s interesting to note, given that even in the high-stress situation of living in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Duke and Dick appear amicable for the most part.
Can we say that them getting along in these three instances is because they are similar in personality/moral compass to one another? I’m sure that comes at least somewhat into play. But I’d need more input from canon (or again, I would at least need to read up more on Dick), before coming to any definitive conclusions.

Everything Wrong with the Danganronpa 3 Anime (and what little I liked about it)
Okay… I’m late to the party and I bet others have voiced all my complaints before, but I just needed to vent, so here we go. Warning: this got long. And contains SPOILERS not only for DR3 but also DR2 and DR2.5.
Also, these are just my opinions. You’re free to disagree. If you in fact loved the anime, good for you! I wish I’d be able to. ^^;; (I'd also like to point out that I've seen it only once, and I might misremember some things, or maybe have misunderstood something, so feel free to correct me.)
(And one more disclaimer: I’m just venting here, ok? Do keep that in mind…)
Despair Side
Junko. How to write characters who are smarter than you is a question I too have struggled with. One thing I know, this is not the way to do it. Junko says in DR2 that she knows 17,082 ways of bringing people to despair. Clearly an exaggeration, and after all, here she needed only one: a brainwashing video. Okay, sure, I think some brainwashing via means like this simply has to also take place. Especially that’s true in the larger picture, with the masses, but also with our cast, to make them go as crazy as they did… but it being the only thing? Huh. I was expecting a master manipulator, but nah. What happened to her “charismatic ability to attract people” to her case, her “power to change other people’s values”, like all other leaders who are obsessed with their ideals? Ok, Monokuma’s – in other words, Junko’s – words. Ofc she would paint herself in that light. But can you blame me being disappointed to find out that she’s nothing but a fake? She didn’t need a single ounce of charisma to do what she did. Monokuma claimed he’s telling us the truth in ch 6 of DR2, but in the end almost everything was one big, fat lie. “She controlled their despair by taking advantage of their love, hate, grudges, anything really.” Yeah right.
Mukuro. If Junko doesn’t live up to her character, neither does Mukuro. She pretty much loses everything that made her interesting here and becomes nothing but a punching bag (with an incestuous twist). That’s pretty much all I have to say about her in DR3, which is sad in itself. >_>
Anyway, talking about the brainwashing… This removes all guilt from everyone involved. Yay, the characters we love are pure and innocent, they didn’t have this despair sleeping inside of them for Junko to wake up, they were just her poor victims. And maybe because of this they don’t have to deal with any trauma either, cause they sure seem to be perfectly happy in the end.
The trauma and the lack of it, both physical and mental… in the end, no one else but Nagito and Fuyuhiko had mutilated their bodies (or if they had, it wasn’t visible). That’s fine… but in that case, I think Makoto & co really should have told them that when they were freaking out about their bodies being messed up. Also, someone (Akane, probably, for it'd be serious despair for her) supposedly starved themself nearly to death, but there's no sign of something like that, either. It’s just like… this anime really downplays everything we learned in DR2, and nothing that happened in it really matters at all.
Class 77 falling into despair as they did was such a letdown. Yeah, this is still about the brainwashing. Just for the record, I’m not complaining about them being brainwashed, per se. I’m complaining about the method of that brainwashing. My biggest problem here is that there’s no individuality. Basically the entire class (apart from Mikan, Chiaki, and the imposter) are treated as just the same faceless mass. In DR2, I could see hints for basically each character of where their despair might spring from, but none of that is needed. They’re a perfectly happy bunch of kids before they see this single video. Which brings me to…
Sato’s death. Now, that could have been the moment to start the downhill. First, Mahiru’s best friend kills Fuyuhiko’s sister for her sake. Then, Fuyuhiko kills said friend. But they seem to get over this without too much trouble. Ultimately, it doesn’t really have any far-reaching consequences at all. (Unless you count Nagito’s stupid act of terrorism as one, I guess.)
Twilight Syndrome Murder Case in general was weird in the anime. I’m not even sure what truly happened there, it was just rushed over. The scene with Mahiru and Sato wasn’t like in DR2. Did Mahiru take those photos? Was Sato the murderer? Did Fuyuhiko kill her? What’s the truth of this case?
Nagito being an outsider in the class. (Well, tbh, I guess this makes sense. I still don’t have to like it.) I get it that they didn’t like to hang out with him after the first trial in DR2, and I bet he’s always been a weirdo, but I was really hoping to see him be a part of the group at least a bit more strongly than he was. They didn’t care much at all that he was gone, and Chiaki was the only one to welcome him back when he returned. No wonder he was dreaming about having friends in DR2.5…
Izuru being a bystander. It kind of feels like the point of this anime is to show us that they’re all good people through and through and haven’t done anything bad (except maybe after being brainwashed into totally different people). Surprise, surprise! Monokuma lied to us about Izuru’s involvement in the deaths of the student council too! Well, to be honest, it wasn’t a complete surprise to me that the version he provided us in DR2 wasn’t quite truthful (even though he repeatedly claimed otherwise!) I was wondering about it back then, in fact. But still. Izuru just is there. He doesn’t do anything. Well, he kills that one single person who attacks him at the end of the scene where the student council members murder each other. Oh, and I guess he tries to kill Nagito. Speaking of which…
Izuru meeting Nagito. Ok, I know that Junko wiped Nagito’s memory, which is the reason he doesn’t recognize Izuru on the boat in chapter 0 of DR2. But this doesn’t change the fact that when this meeting took place, I couldn’t really enjoy that otherwise quite brilliant scene, cause I was just going like “wtf, how can this happen?!” And then it’s all explained away with basically one single sentence, much later on.
Overall, the memory swipe thing is, in my opinion, used a bit too much here. It becomes such a cheap plot device – anything can happen, cause we just make them forget about it. Did Junko even really have time to do that there, for the entire class? And I don’t get why Izuru asked her to do it in the first place. He said something about meeting the class soon again, and that it would be boring if they knew each other. Why? The first thought I had was that he was talking about the island, but honestly, no one knew anything about that going to happen yet at this point, and I refuse to believe that Izuru could predict all that. That’s getting ridiculous. And even if he could, Izuru wasn’t on the island as himself but as Hajime, and they had anyway forgotten all that happened during their school life, so… it’s just utterly pointless. I can’t help feeling that the makers just really wanted for this meeting to take place, and then used this by now rather worn plot device to make Nagito forget all about it. It just makes no sense to me. They could have just made that scene so that Nagito never clearly sees Izuru. Problem solved, and no need for any pointless mind swipes.
The deaths of the student council. That… happened way too easily. Just how horrifying secrets can high schoolers have that they’d go crazy and start killing like that? And even if one does, for heavens’ sake, there’s a roomful of people, someone just grab her. Ok, Mukuro’s there and she has a gun. She shot someone. She’s the ultimate soldier. They are in trouble, I give you that. But to cave in that quickly and just start murdering each other even without any brainwashing just makes no sense on any level. I’m sorry, Hajime, I much prefer the version where Izuru killed them all.
Btw, just how big is the reserve course? 2,357 reserve course students committed mass suicide (if we trust the numbers Monokuma provided. Maybe he exaggerated. Maybe it’s just a random number, just like that 17,082 earlier.) But as the reserve course has existed only for two years, if that number applies, even with huge classes of 49 people each, there’d be at least 24 classes each year. That’s some real revenue they’re aiming for there, all I can say. I sort of thought that number would also include alumni or something. (Also... someone should have told the reserve course students they shouldn't open strange files sent from unknown people.)
Chiaki’s death. Oh, I love her. I also think that killing her is an excellent way to try to break her classmates. But it being the only way… nah. There were so many relationships they talked about in the FTE’s of DR2 that could have been used (Hiyoko's father, Teruteru's mother, Ibuki's band members, Nekomaru’s hospital mate etc.) but they just made everything center on Chiaki. Kind of… lazy. And the death itself… in a sense, it’s such a fitting end for a gamer. Just, when the hell did Junko build that maze thing basically underneath the schoolyard without anyone noticing it at all? This is even more ridiculous than the DR1 executions. It’s just not possible. The deaths worked in the game setting, and there Junko had had time to prepare everything without anyone getting in the way and she had people like the Ultimate Mechanic helping her, but here… maybe it’s just me, but I wish it’d be something more realistic.
People being stupid and/or spineless for the sake of the plot. Sakakura letting Junko to bully him to lie to Munakata about something as big as this for such a reason? So she has a photo of him looking at Munakata’s picture with a smile? Oh the horror. Say it’s fake. Say you were just looking at the picture of your best friend. Can’t you smile at that? Or man up and confess to him yourself. Yukizome going underground without letting anyone know what she’s up to. Are you suicidal, girl? At least answer the damn phone and let them know where you're going before starting to explore mysterious underground passages by yourself. You're supposed to be the adult here, try to be a bit more sensible and responsible, would you? Being a teacher and being a superhero are two different things. You're not Korosensei. And the kids too, in fact. What are they doing, going after their teacher like that without informing anyone? Call the freaking police! But nope, even though most of them have no combat abilities whatsoever (and one of their strongest fighters was already once defeated!), they just have to go after her by themselves – carrying an injured person with them, to boot. What are they thinking? Ok, I get it, they're kids. But still.
Future Side
The plot. The leader of the Future Foundation arranges the killing game thing to make Mitarai share the hope brainwashing video with the world? This is the lousiest plan ever. If he really couldn’t convince Mitarai to do that any other way, after the world has pretty much literally ended, how could he be so sure that this would work? He might have caused all that killing just for nothing. In fact, Mitarai wasn’t even supposed to be there, and I wonder if he would have still done that in the end, if he hadn’t witnessed it all firsthand.
The utter dysfunctionality of the Future Foundation. And how unreasonable and idiotic these people are. How has this lot been able to fight the Despairs and be successful about it? They don’t seem to be capable of any kind of cooperation, and half of them hate the other half enough to literally murder them. Even that confectionery girl doesn’t trust someone completely loyal to her enough to believe he woulnd’t kill her, but murders him instead, just in case. Sure, I get it, she has this betrayal trauma, but still. What the actual fuck. (Okay, so they’re totally unaware that they’ve got despair lurking among them, which might be partly behind the dysfunctionality, but even so.) …moreover, this anime introduces so many people, but I remember the names of only a few. They’re just a bunch of pointless characters who’ve got pointless subplots and who die pointless deaths. 12 episodes simply wasn’t enough to give a cast this big enough time to develop meaningfully.
Munakata’s motives… don’t make any sense whatsoever. That guy doesn’t make any sense, at least not in the future arc. He’s fine in the despair arc, but here… he’s just crazy. (And yeah, maybe he’s supposed to be that, but even so, I just struggled to understand him a bit too much.) I guess he thinks the hope Makoto represents is a false hope and therefore dangerous, which is why he wants to kill Makoto? Something like that, but overall, he’s simply nuts, and not in a good way. The whole trial thing is a farce from the beginning.
Daisaku Bandai, the Ultimate Farmer… the first colored character in the series, and this is his talent. In addition, with his appearance and mannerisms, he’s such a… simply put, racist stereotype. Apparently (according to a databook about DR3) his character is based on Uncle Tom, which… might not be the best source material for creating black characters. >_> And we have him for one episode, until he dies because of the unfairest ?? code of them all.
The DG codes or whatever they were called, can’t remember and don’t really care. Can we say plot device? Yes we can. They’re mainly just used to kill off fodder characters and force plot twists to happen. Maybe they bring along some interesting scenes, too, but overall they're just... nah. ...Zero Escape used these bracelets so much better, tbh.
Fake deaths of Hina and Kyoko. Three fake deaths in 12 episodes is three two too many! Hina’s case was just silly, but ok I guess. It sure was startling, anyway, when it seemed she had died. Then, when the same thing happened with Kyoko (in Makoto’s nightmare, but there was no way we could tell it was a dream before it ended), it was getting a bit frustrating, but I could have forgiven that – if she had stayed dead once she dies the second time, that is. I mean, I love her and I’m happy she lives, but this is getting ridiculous. Where did she get that medicine, anyway? How did she know it might help? Well, I guess she found it on that pharmacist’s body when she was examining her… (and here’s the real question, how and when did the pharmacist… Seiko, was it? have the means and time to develop that medicine?) Anyway, betting her life on an unknown medicine like that is just reckless. In Kyoko’s place, I would have done what Sakakura did and cut off my hand. Yeah, that’s extremely reckless too, and likely to lead to death in those conditions, but still a better option in my mind. Also, in Monokuma’s words, “Well, nobody’s gonna appreciate a game where you don’t die when you’re supposed to, right?” Right.
Btw, Kyoko! What the hell. Dear girl. Why didn’t you examine properly that fake exit place? You could have done what Sakakura did in the end and ended the game right there and then. You’re smarter than this.
Ultra Despair Girls episode. I’m saying this as someone who liked both the game (for the most part) (def not all parts, you know >_>) and Toko & Komaru: that was complete waste of time. The only thing it gave us was a fanserivice shot of Komaru’s panties. (Why?) As I said before, at 12 episodes the Future side is too short to begin with, and there really wasn’t room for a filler episode like that. Besides… Monaca flying off into space… in that van… is maybe supposed to be funny, but to me it was so stupid it almost hurts. And even by game standards, Komaru and Toko surviving that fall without a scratch is ridiculous. (Also, can’t those two seriously find some new clothes anywhere? ^^;;) (All that said, it was kinda fun to see them again.)
Timeline. More than a complaint, this is something I’m simply a bit confused about. How long passed betwen UDG and DR2? It sounds like not too long. Everything seemed to be ready for DR2 then: Izuru got Junko AI from Kuro&Shirokuma, Nagito told Monaca that he has to be somewhere soon. And still Nagito had enough time to make Monaca so fed up with both hope & despair? Boy he’s efficient. XD
…actually, the timeline is a bit of a mess, really… after DR2, that is. I mean… that much time can’t have passed between Makoto & co leaving Jabberwock island and the farce Makoto’s trial. But still the DR2 gang’s ready to come for help very quickly. So they all have to wake up and be rehabilitated (after spending over a month in a coma-like state), almost in a matter of days. And Nagito gets that robotic arm of his, too, literally right after he wakes up, apparently… (it seems to happen just in time for him to catch the boat with the others.) Oh well. Maybe Hajizuru had already made it for him. Whatever. Onward.
Komaru’s warning to Makoto. “Hey big bro, this person we have no reason to trust just said that someone’s gonna die cause of you.” “Omg, I’m the worst, I never meant for that to happen! T_T” …I just can’t. Makoto! It hasn’t even happened yet! If you’re so worried about it, why don’t you even try to find out what it’s about? Take action! At least try to stop it from happening!
The whole thing with Mitarai uploading his video. 30 min load time? How does it take that long? How big is the video? A few seconds of it seem to be enough to brainwash people, anyway. Ok, I get it, they need to give time for people to reach him. And of course, he cancels the upload at the last seconds. (cliché much…) Of course it’s nice that they can talk him out of it and get him to do that himself, but in that kind of situation where you overpower a single guy 15-1, you really don’t need to cut it that close.
And finally, I just have to mention this… the red blood. Why? I haven’t been able to figure out a single proper reason for this. First I thought that maybe the blood is pink in the games due to stricter censorship in Japan – in the games, kids die, but here they’re adults, so maybe that’s why the blood can be red? That sounds kind of stupid though, and they could have kept the pink blood just for consistency’s sake. (Maybe there are different standards for games and animation? I don’t know.)
Anyway, Twilight Murder Syndrome in the game had red blood and a realistic image of a dead girl, so I really don’t know about that censorship theory. There I don’t mind the red blood, though. On the contrary. I thought it was really funny how in that game inside the game, blood was red and characters were drawn quite realistically. Kind of like… what is realistic to us, is in the DR world considered some weird anime style. XD Having red blood in the future arc kinda ruins this. One theory I’ve heard was that the blood is pink during the time of Junko’s influence or something like that, but I honestly don’t get that at all. Despair turns blood pink?
And if it’s red just so they could play the silly ketchup trick on Hina, I will scream. >_>
ETA: apparently the blood was pink cause it added to the psycho-pop feeling of the game. Why not just to keep it like that?
Hope side
Do I like it or hate it? I don’t know. The trouble with the hope arc… it feels like such a fan wish fulfillment episode. Yeah, I’m falling for it too… it’s fun to see all the DR2 people doing their thing. But even so. I don’t know. Some parts of it just feel pretty silly. And all these people… seem so happy. Which is great. But I’d wish to see a bit of that trauma they must have… I mean, even if it was all due to brainwashing, they’ve done horrible things. Murdered people. Their families. And then there’s all the stuff that happened in DR2. Are they really over it all, just like that?
Things I liked in the anime
Umm.
Chiaki. <3 And her friendship with Hajime. I’ve heard some people complain that it was boring, but seriously… that’s the best kind of friendship there is. Where you can just be in someone's company, totally relaxed like that, and the silences are never awkward. I could easily see that relationship to develop into something more.
Yukizome. Most of the time. Except when she was being an idiot. Or when she came back from teaching the reserve course, just saying that oh, she suffered there so much. That was really disappointing, I didn’t take her to be an ass like that. >_>
I did complain about Izuru being a bystander, but in a way I really like his apathetic attitude.
Fuyuhiko’s little sister being part of the reserve course. That was a really good explanation for the silly Ultimate Little Sister title.
The first episode of despair arc was quite fun… (even though it’s ridiculous that attending classes isn’t mandatory in this school. Great that they’ve time to develop their talents, but they truly don’t have to learn anything else? Seriously? Why is this school considered so great again? XD)
Nagito meeting Makoto! XD Never change, my darling nutcase. 💜 (That said, I’m gonna take that boy to therapy.)
(Heh. It genuinely seems to be so that there wasn't anything in the Future side that I would have liked.)
Hmm. Anything else on my mind…?
Oh oh oh! What’s up with Chiaki at the end, though? Is Hajime now also the Ultimate Medium who can converse with the dead whenever he wants to? Does Chiaki (the AI version) somehow live on in his mind? What the hell was that!? I truly love her, but she if anyone should have stayed properly dead. Death isn't as cheap as this in Danganronpa…
And one more thing about which I’ve been wondering for long, already before watching this anime: what about Hajime’s family? Did his parents have any idea of what was going on with their (underage) son? Didn’t they wonder how he just disappeared? Or did they actually consent to all this?
Huh. Now I’m done, I guess. I said it’d be long. I hope I didn’t forget anything… and, uh, congrats if you managed to read through my entire rant, I guess? ^^;

The Lana Shipping Meme!
This is a meme made by @swtor-legacy-sitcom who very kindly tagged me to fill it in, thank you! :D This was super fun, I’ve been in a bit of a writing rutt lately so this was a nice way to sort-of dip my toe back into it :P I TOTALLY forgot this was in my drafts and forgot to schedule it to post, I’m soooo sorry it took so long lmao 😳😬
I’m not sure if we’re supposed to tag other people with this one so I’ll just leave a general, open tag here: if you have a Lana ship and want to fill this one out, feel free to yoink the meme and say I tagged you! Yes, I promise I mean you <3
Spoilers for KOTFE/KOTET, and slight spoilers for the Subterfugeverse “version” of said events, will be discussed below, so be aware of that before proceeding! There’s also some midlly nsfw questions so you might wanna skip those if they’re not your thing! :D Under a cut because it’s long, but no trigger warnings need apply.
Is Lana Beniko absolutely done with their shit?
Oh yes, absolutely. Nearly always. At any given time, BUT Lana wouldn’t have it any other way. Saarai may be a reckless, overly-heroic idiot with seemingly no self-preservation, but she’s Lana’s reckless, overly-heroic idiot, ya know :’D
Do they make jokes together?
Fairly often, yes! Theirs is very much a flirty/fond banter type of relationship. Lana tells her she’s insufferable, Saarai rolls her eyes and snarks back, so on. See:
Saarai: Well this was a stupid idea Lana: Considering it was one of yours, I’m not surprised Saarai: Why didn’t you say something? Lana: I did and you did it anyway. And what have we learnt from this? Saarai, quietly: I’m a dumbass and I should listen to you more.... Lana: Good. I still love you, though. Saarai: :’D
Lana, two minutes later: You’re going to do it again, aren’t you? Saarai: Yeah, probably.
as well as that little cutscene “You’d better come back blah blah blah” “Well I have you to rescue me, that’s all I need~” is their default pre-dangerous battle banter :P
Who’s hornier? (who initiates)
Tumblr media
Saarai is definitely hornier, and while she’s not always the one to initiate, she’s definitely the one to ask more often. (if I had to give it a number, prolly something like 65/45 lol) One of these days, Lana’s going to buy a spray bottle /jk
Kinkiest they’ve been?
Not awfully. Saarai’s a biter (Lana likes it, don’t worry 😏) and she loves it when Lana pulls her hair, but other than that, and making use of connections within the Force to heighten the sensations during such activities ;) they’re pretty vanilla
There was a post going around a while back about an alternative to a praise kink that was like, a “reassurance” kink, instead. I can’t find the actual post to link to it and I haven’t pinned down any specifics for them yet but I definitely think that’s a Saarai thing to look into later 😏
Has Lana ever covered up something your OC did as Minister of Intelligence?
In a roundabout way, yes. Technically, Saarai’s entire existence on Rishii. Since, teeechhnically, as far as the Empire’s concerned at that point, Rai’s supposed to be dead. Lana doesn’t know the technicalities of why that is (and Saarai isn’t comfortable telling her, even now), but she knows it’s important, so she does it for her even if she doesn’t know why.
Favorite non sexual downtime activity?
Cuddles! Saarai is a cuddlebug, and while Lana enjoys them she’s definitely not the “if I don’t get cuddled x times a day I can’t go on” type (in my headcanon, ofc, I’m not saying she can never be that way!) but, Saarai’s also very warm and cuddling her is cozy, so it’s something they both enjoy, whether Rai’s the big spoon, or - and this is Rai’s favourite thing ever - Saarai putting her head in Lana’s lap so Lana can play with her hair, it’s something they always do at the end of the day when they’re both done with work.
Mushiest thing Your OC has ever done for Lana?
So, I’m too impatient & lazy to do the actual HK missions in-game, but I know you can technically get another HK unit, so because ✨it’s my fanfic and I get to make the rules✨ Saarai sent Aria (my DS! Jedi Shadow, very good at stealth) back to Zakuul and though it was a bit battered up, she managed to retrieve HK’s processor. They had to get him a new chassis, but Koth and Ty managed to salvage the rest of his “important” bits and they rebuilt HK for her after they settled on Odessen :’3
Most Embarrassed Lana has ever been because of your OC?
In the middle of an important meeting, in front of everyone on the Alliance High Council, including Theron, Senya, Ni’kasi, Vano, etc.
Lana, sarcastically, after they’ve been disagreeing on how to handle a particular matter for ~1 hr: hahaha bite me.
Saarai, dead serious: Okay, where? 😏
Lana was mortified, to say the least XD
That thing that happened that they vow to NEVER speak of?
Saarai’s reaction when they went to Nathema. Rai’s psychometric, and in hindsight she realises putting her hand on that wall as she ducked into the building was a mistake. She was bombarded with flashback after flashback of what had happened on Nathema when it was still Medriaas, the planet where she was born and where most of her family died, it was not a pleasant experience for her and Rai actually collapsed at one stage because it was all too much for her ;w;
Lana had to bring her back around and herd her back on the ship, where Rai had to wait because she just couldn’t go any further, and Lana and Vano had to go on alone. Lana agreed not to tell anyone else about what had happened, because Saarai didn’t want any of them to worry about her, or think she was “weak” because of it.
The Angriest they’ve ever been at each other?
There’s actually two instances that come to mind for this one
1) Koth’s betrayal/stealing of the Gravestone, Lana was pissed at Koth and wanted to take it out on him, Saarai was pissed at the situation and got between them and chewed Lana out for taking it out on him. (Subterfugeverse is kinda complicated, there’s two Commanders calling the shots for different parts of the Alliance, Koth took issue with something Vano did and made the reckless, kinda stupid decision to still steal the Gravestone even tho Saarai didn’t do anything. (also for anyone new to the blog, all three of them are dating, they’re polyam ;)) Lana took it personally, Saarai was more upset that he was upset and didn’t say anything before he did something stupid. Rai and Lana butted heads about how to deal with it, Lana got salty cause she got yelled at, but they ofc fix it later :3)
2) Torian’s death. Saarai had tried to warn Lana what would happen if they split Vette & Torian up during that fight, Lana brushed it off and told Rai to “stop overreacting, it will be fine”. Obviously, it was not fine. Rai was very angry at the result because, I quote, “I WARNED YOU! And you wouldn’t listen to me!” Saarai refused to speak to Lana for a few days after that, it was kinda a rough time for Lana, she’s only seen Rai get that angry a few times, and only once at her so it shook her a bit. 😢
How does both Lana, and your OC initiate the ‘fade to black’ ;)
For Saarai, the “indicator” is usually when her kisses start to become 50/50 between kissing and biting/nibbling. That’s the universal “ok I want to” signal for Rai. Usually very quickly followed by a soft “yes?” or “are you sure?”, either against her skin or into her ear, depending on where she’s kissing at the time; because she’ll always check first, and if Lana says “no”, it’s off, because Lana’s consent is more important than any of her feelings.
For Lana, it’s when she’ll let Rai pick her up and/or usually to pin her to a wall. There’s a decent height difference, Saarai’s 6 ft 3, and I headcanon that while Lana’s not necessarily “short” at around 5 ft 8, she’s considerably smaller than Rai, as well as being more “reserved” with PDA, she’ll hold hands, or kiss her on the cheek etc. in front of other people, but otherwise Lana tries to keep somewhat “professional” while they’re at work. So when she starts climbing her like a tree, Rai knows she’s about to get some. XD
Do they have kids?
Kiiiinddd of? It’s complicated. Saarai has a son, Ty, from a previous relationship. Lana & Koth both sort of step up to help co-parent, but since Sith Purebloods age differently (i.e. they’re adults at ~20ish the same as humans, but after that they’re more like elves and their physical aging slows down, so they’re more long-lived), even though Ty’s very young by Pureblood standards, he’s still 60 years old, so he’s technically older than Lana and it’s kind of awkward for him to actually call her mom even if she kind of acts like one. He accidentally called her “mom” once, it was very awkward for both of them XD
What has been the most protective Lana has ever had of said kid?
I sat and scratched my head for ages trying to think of something to answer this question with, but I’m very sad to say that right now at the time of answering this meme, I don’t have any specific scenes planned out to tell you about! :( But rest assured that Lana absolutely would rush to help Ty if it was ever necessary :D
House pets? Is your Lana a dog person, or Cat person?
Funnily enough, they don’t actually have any pets! I’d like to think of Lana as more of a cat person than a dog person, in my personal opinion. But they have yet to get any pets of their own, maybeee later on, I dunno. Haven’t hit on any solid ideas for them yet, but I feel like if they happened upon a cute kitty they definitely could adopt one at some stage :’3
Do they get freaky on the Alliance Base or in the Shuttles?
They’ve done both, to be honest lol. Thankfully, Saarai’s sneaky enough that they haven’t gotten caught doing it, yet. Thank the Force.
Are their Sparring Matches Flirtatious? Hardcore?
They could go either way, it depends on what kind of mood they’re both in. If Lana’s particularly annoyed (usually not at Rai, but sometimes) then it’s more likely to be a hardcore spar, Rai’s a pretty tough cookie so she’ll often offer to be Lana’s punching bag in order to spare them some repair bills so she doesn’t rip apart the training dummies irrepairably, it’s okay, Rai can take it ;)
But if they’re both in an otherwise good mood and are just sparring for practise sakes, then yes, they often very quickly devolve into flirtacious banter and some of the classics, you know, “okay you win, you can let me go now” “mmm, nah” “I thought we were sparring” “do you want me to stop” “...don’t you dare.” etc. :’D
Class Specific things that play into their relationship?
Saarai’s a Juggernaut, and I headcanon Lana’s probably some sort of Sorcerer, so they tend to fight as such. They cover each other in more ways than one, if you want to get to Lana you have to go through Saarai first (and good luck to you, that woman can take and give a fucking beating lmao). Lana picks off whatever Saarai’s saber misses, usually with Force attacks but sometimes with her saber, too. Saarai takes bullets for Lana so Lana doesn’t have to get hurt. Lana yells at Rai for doing that and then fixes her up with Force healing afterwards, rinse and repeat. :’D
When they do argue, Lana tends to spontaneously manifest Force lightning, Saarai’s used to it and doesn’t bat an eyelid, she knows Lana’s not actually going to throw it at her and she’s more than prepared to dodge any stray bolts that do come her way.
Lana’s the tactician and the ground support, Saarai’s the battering ram/the bigass hammer used to clear space when Lana needs a bit of extra “oomph” (and trust me, they’re usually never far apart. The other one will be there and then you’ll be in trouble lmao)
Describe a time your OC went ‘Full beast mode’ to protect Lana, instead of the other way around?
"Kriff. Koth, what happened?” Three words was all it took, and everything made sense: “They hurt Lana.”
That scene in the Endless Swamps on Zakuul, just before they pull the Gravestone out of it and Lana and the Commander get ambushed. Saarai went with Lana & Koth to break Vano out of carbonite (since Saarai was still on Rishii at the time, she doesn’t get frozen, only Vano) so when they split up, Saarai goes with Koth to look for ship parts while Vano goes with Lana to look for water.
Lana and Vano get ambushed by the Knights/Skytroopers, and Lana’s hand gets busted. It takes Saarai and Koth a little while to rush over there to help them, but when they do
Saarai. Goes. Fucking. Feral. It’s the scariest she’s ever been in front of Lana and Lana will never forget it, they almost didn’t really need Senya’s help for that part, Saarai basically had it covered. I imagine Lana later described it as “kind of hot, but also kind of terrifying, actually”
Saarai’s considered Chaotic Good, so generally speaking if there’s a peaceful, non-violent solution to a problem, she’ll opt for that, but she has a few buttons that you just do not want to push, ever. And hurting her partners is one of those buttons. She will go apeshit and that’s exactly what happened in the swamp lmao
Little things couples do to annoy each other. What does Lana do? What does your OC do?
Saarai likes to wake up early and hide Lana’s kaf mug in increasingly ridiculous places. Once, she even got Koth to help her stick it to the top of the Gravestone’s hull. It took Lana half the morning to find it, Lana was not amused. XD
Saarai and Koth also have an ongoing “terrible puns” contest where they basically see who can annoy Lana with the most ridiculous puns possible, see this post for an example :P Lana wonders where/how they keep coming up with these puns, she really does.
Does Lana get jealous in your headcanon?
Not really! In Subterfugeverse, both Rai and Lana are polyam, so generally speaking, jealousy isn’t a problem for them, and when it is it’s more of a case of “hey. Hey. Hey, I’m not getting enough attention, pay attention to me.” and then it’s usually dealt with and all is well ;)
When Lana meets Anri, the only thing Saarai does is tease her about “when she’s going to make the move”. 😜
Story that is prominent in their relationship?
I was gonna draw a little doodle for this but the poses kept not coming out right so I gave up, sorryyy qAq
I haven’t gotten very far into planning the SoR onwards+ segments of Subterfugeverse, just bits and bobs like this, but I’d say for now the most prominent is probably their first meeting on Rishii. Basically, meet-cute but with a lightsaber involved too hahaha. There was a lot of posturing and flirty subtext right from the get-go with these two, even if Saarai was particularly suspicious at first (see the earlier question about her being technically dead to the Empire). At first, when she noticed Lana tailing Ty (because Lana was extremely confused about why a Pureblood was so far from Sith space ;)), Saarai assumed that something had happened to her twin and the Empire had A) found out she and Ty were still alive and B) Sent Lana to track them down and kill them for good. Several tension-loaded hours later and Lana managed to convince Rai that actually, Ni’kasi was fine and speaking of, she was trying to avoid being killed too so maybe, actually, they could help each other. And that was all she wrote <3

Hii sry to bring this up again I'm not the same anon who asked about this before andyour answer was very nice and ofc you can be critical about it and everything, I feel like you didn't address the main thing the anon mentioned which was that you are criticizing negatively without actually watching the show Heck I have critical opinions about the show for sure my stand on disney/marv is exactly the same as yours I think, but I feel like you should watch smthn if you're going to criticize
While I understand what you mean, I think it’s a bit more complicated than that! (also the fact that you say I’m ‘criticising negatively’ indicates to me that maybe I didn’t make the point I was trying to make in my last ask as well as I wanted to). I also understand why, at this point, it may seem like I have all these ‘negative’ opinions on tfatws, but that’s actually not the case! That’s mostly just a result of people coming to me with things that are bothering them about it, that I then respond to - and in this particular case, me reblogging a thing that I have a strong personal opinion about. However, I’m fully supportive of the good and fun parts of it, and of all my pals who are loving it so far!!
Just for the record, while I haven’t seen every episode back to front, I’ve seen plenty of clips and gifsets that have allowed me to form an opinion, at least on this particular aspect we’ve been discussing. I also make sure to read a couple of reviews every Friday to stay up to date, and I have a lot of people coming to talk to me to discuss certain things about the show every week, both positive and negative (I’m seeing plenty of both, and I think that, while I don’t talk about the show a lot on my blog, it does reflect both. There is room for both!)
It’s similar to how there are a lot of movies and books that I haven’t seen or read and yet I’ve seen or heard enough about to have formed the opinion that I don’t agree with certain aspects of them. I don’t have to watch ‘Music’ by Sia to understand it’s not propagating something I stand by, because people with more expertise on the subject than I have, have (in my opinion) quite convincingly explained what (in their opinion) is wrong with it - in fact, this is one of the purposes of writing and reading critiques of pieces of media! The thing that started this particular discussion we’re having now was a Twitter thread by a licensed therapist explaining why, in her opinion, she didn’t think the subject of Bucky’s therapy was handled as well as it could have been in tfatws, and as someone who has been on the receiving end of therapy, and who has seen said therapy scenes, I found myself agreeing with that particular opinion - and I expressed that in what I think was a respectful way. Yes, I agree that often it’s best to form opinions based on what you’ve seen with your own two eyes, but it’s not the only or always the best way to do it. I’m familiar enough with Marvel/Disney and the way they tend to handle certain topics, and sometimes not being as involved and viewing something from a distance can help, too.
And just as a final remark, and then I’m going to stop discussing this for the moment, but I feel like some people are viewing me voicing some opinions on certain aspects as the show as me attacking the whole show, which really isn’t the same thing, I assure you!! I’ve always been critical of certain aspects of Marvel movies and shows, this is not an exception. Again, you’re free to disagree with me, and I’m not forcing anyone to read my opinions, which is why I tag them so they can be filtered! But it is my blog, and I don’t really like being told what I should or shouldn’t express on it, you know? Please, by all means, filter the tag, and like I said, if you still are uncomfortable or disagree, don’t hesitate to unfollow. I understand, and I just want people to do their thing the way they want to - and that includes myself! Thanks for understanding <3

Okay look, the SPN wall was breached, and because my cursory partial rewatch turned into my latest hyperfixation, here’s an unpopular(?) opinion for you: the good parts of spn are worth the bad parts of spn. (I don’t even know if I *agree* with this opinion, but I’m curious about your thoughts.) (Also I’m sort of sorry to bring it up, and feel free to ignore if you don’t want to poke this particular hornets’ nest, ofc)
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
I’m not actually sure? It has been...such a long time since I watched any Supernatural that I feel like I can only dimly recall things about a lot of it. But I will say that the reason I ticked ‘agree’ here is because, while I got off the train early and I do think that the show went on far longer than it needed to, I’ve never actually regretted my participation in Supernatural fandom, as far as it went. I’ve never wished I hadn’t watched it or gotten into the fandom or written fic; I’ve never felt like that was a waste of my time.
I feel like my relationship with Supernatural was a fairly amicable breakup, all things considered. We drifted apart! We wanted different things! etc. etc. I mean, I definitely had active frustrations - I have active frustrations - but...I don’t regret it, or feel like it wasn’t worth the years I spent making Sam Winchester suffer more.
Which I feel like says something! Maybe that would change if I had actually watched into the later seasons and kept going (where the enjoyment I had earlier would start to become outweighed, as it was when I stopped watching, by the things that annoyed me), but because I didn’t do that I do feel generally warm toward it, even as I will talk shit about it.
So I guess in conclusion maybe it’s better to quit a fandom while you’re ahead and don’t have to deal with increasing frustration that taints everything that came before? Because I think sometimes that happens, whereas I just get to live in this nice place where I don’t want to go back into the Supernatural cave, but I feel good about having lived there for a while.

I recently almost left Naruto fandom for its toxicity to others while this manga literally rocked my entire adolescence, and I mean it. Pairing stories are the worst, especially when they involve shounen characters type. It's hard to resist the temptation not to see our favorite characters end up together in a beautiful romance that 3/4 of us don't even have in our real life . But already, the first thing I saw when I came into this fandom was how romance in fiction makes people twist, AGAIN.
This post will be about EreMika since they are for me not the most probable pair, far from it, but the almost canonical one. Whether you've read the manga, or just the anime, Eren and Mikasa are the couple that jumps out at you... it's literally undeniable. They are beautifully written, have always had a development and that's why so many people are either opposed to their union, or for their canonical unification although, I'll say it again, will be unlikely, in the turn of events in this manga, unfortunately.. be honest.
Why I say that Eren and Mikasa are the almost canonical pair of SNK... ? Well, simply because of the constant evidences that we're dropping from Isayama among others.
First of all, Eren and Mikasa were the two main characters introduced in the manga as well as in the anime, and already after 3 minutes, the soft and shared behavior of these two characters gives us a lot. We fast-forward through the story that is SNK in short, to find the past of Mikasa and how she landed at the Yeager's. I’ll skip the story of Mikasa's past and how she was rescued by Eren, to come to the moment when he offers her his famous scarf (red in the anime). This was not a meaningless gesture for Eren or Mikasa and even for us as readers or viewers. And the color red is also ultra important and was not chosen at random ... The legend of the red thread of lovers or soul mates is an important part of a lot of manga/anime... For those who don't know this legend, google it, and you'll see what I'm talking about. To make a long story short, two souls who are supposed to belong to each other are linked by the red thread of destiny. Red is the color of love, passion, and romantic feelings. You offer red roses to your beloved, because it is the symbolism of love itself. In an ending of SNK anime, (the first season it seems to me) we see Mikasa, which is why she became the Mikasa we know today, and she sees EREN, nobody else but EREN, it seems to me that she even loses her red scarf and flies away in the wind < (well, all this is another symbolism and deserves other explanations). Eren and Mikasa are linked by this stupid red scarf, and this since the beginning. Mikasa is clearly in love with Eren since the beginning of this show, and have always taken care of each other. The development of their relationship has gone through many significant stages of denial, anger, fear of losing the other, platonic affection, and lying. They are young, now 19 years old in the current timeline, and live in a world that is clearly not conducive to a relationship. (Eren is going to die in 4 years) It is not surprising in this that any relationship, whether friendly, platonic or romantic, is somewhat biased. It is now funny that Isayama makes fun of his fans by putting us on doubts about them like Eren and Historia, is he the father? The Ackerman-bond. My personal opinion on the question of Eren's paternity is that he is not the father of this baby. The current canon has already shown us an Eren who totally disagrees with this but is only exposing facts to Historia, it doesn't prove in any way, that Eren and Historia had to have sex in order to have a child or even that Eren has feelings for Historia. Sorry to say it but it's the strict truth, Historia was canonically attached to only one real person in her life and it was Ymir as Eren is canonically attached to only one person in the romantic sense and that's Mikasa. To make him become the father of this child would ruin his character as well as his convictions. He would then become a cheap character, able to crush his own values for nothing..? Why does Isayama give us two panels inclined to pair EreMika if Eren has no feelings for Mikasa? Scene #1: "What am I to you?" Eren is desperately asking for a confession, to be sure before acting the way he was going to act. Scene #2: Zeke cuts himself and became aware that he's lost Eren's attention, and Eren seems to be immersed in his thoughts... Zeke doesn't even need to ask Eren what he's thinking about.... Zeke knows that... Eren is thinking about Mikasa. (and the others ofc but still mikasa is the biggest stuff in his memories) (This scene is still controversial for me, because Zeke says that Mikasa acts like that towards Eren because she loves him, but what does he know? Mikasa and Zeke have hardly ever interacted, if not at all, he doesn't know her...while he claimed to Levi in the woods that Levi couldn't read people's minds, he couldn't either! no? So how does he know that Mikasa is acting this way because of her feelings for Eren and not because of the Ackerman bond? Believe me, I'm a pro EreMika, but I like to stay concrete and only take material canon that Isayama gave us.
This post was created in order to say that you’re free to ship whatever you want, (im a pro eremika but I also love rivamika and levihan, and would kill to see mikasa and jean to end together, lol and I honestly find Eren and Historia really cute together..) but do not bash others pairings in order to prove that yours is better. This is toxic and really unhealthy. But above all, be honest with yourself and stop denigrating this manga's almost true canon romance, for now at least.
Don't become like the fucked Naruto fandom. Please.
Thank you for reading.
PS: To all the people following me who are in the naruto fandom, SasuSaku stans, stop self-inserting yourselves into EreMika! Your pairing will never match them. Complain to Kishimoto. Thanks.

about that i might just. let this here.
Tumblr media
because it’s been a while since i started thinking about it, and quite often i get... quite constant messages like “oh i can’t believe you’re actually talking to me”, or “wow i was so afraid of approaching you”, or people asking me personal opinions on very specific, subjective sobjects and like. the first time, honestly, i get it! like i freak out too when artists and users far more “”””popular””” than me reblog my stuff, i know the drill, and all things considered i have 10k+ followers so i get it i’m what the kids call “tumblr famous” i guess
but yeah i’m. not a goddess you can put on a pedestal.  just because i have a bigger audience it doesn’t mean i have the answer to everything. and yes i get the first moment of “””fanboying””” because SAME HAT, but reminding me over and over i’m the best truly makes me feel bad. like you’re telling to me, to my face, “i’m not worth your messages”, or that my opinion somehow is valued more than yours, of than the people who know you far better than i do. one time it’s fine, for tiny things i can give you my thoughts maybe and i love to get fanarts and people tagging me in their stuff because ofc i do! i’m honored and glad you guys want to share your thoughts and your art with me!! it’s such a pleasure and god y’all are absolutely free to “use” me to gain more notes it’s always a pleasure to help another artist or writer or simply let you guys get some things off of your chest but
i’m not... here to validate your headcanons. i’m not here to make your au a thing. i get the surprise and the happiness to talk to someone you guys maybe look up to, but reminding me that over and over makes me feel lowkey uncomfortable. i want this social media to be exactly this - to be social, and talk to you guys and see your work and hear your ideas, but quite often with some of you it feels like i gotta either agree with you or your entire ideas could crumble! i recently even discovered that someone sends half insults to people who disagree with me or “dare” to talk to me more than others which is so fucking bad!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
i’m just a bloke on the internet trying to live, fams.
TL;DR: y’all are free to send stuff and messages and i love hearing about your thoughts, and i understand you can be shook when someone “popular” talks to you, but don’t treat me like a goddess. it’s just gio. it’s just another girl on the internet posting her silly stuff.

I saw someone’s analysis of why A makes a better Q and why E needs to be free. I disagree with that. The person also went into why they believe that E belongs where she is and how A is a better fit. They said A also has K who is an introvert and how they balance each other out. The person said once he is crowned King they will make a great team ruling their kingdom. Excuse me while I puke. They couldn’t even carry a convo how are they going to rule a kingdom together? F is about the sisters!!
Adding to my post about how stupid it is to think K & A will make a good team ruling the kingdom. A & E actually do balance each other out and make a great team ruling Arendelle. That’s what I wanted all along. I wanted 2 Queens. They can both be the 5th Spirit too. Just have them ruling together and living together as both. Throw K into the woods with Sven where they both belong. He doesn’t belong in Arendelle. He isn’t happy there. These ppl are nuts to think K can help rule. EA are the rulers
------------------------------
I’m always a bit unconfortable when I find myself criticizing a post without reading it, but considering I usually follow people with similar ideas, it’s difficult for me to see the kind of posts you’re referring to, so...again, thanks for coming to chat about it.
In this case it’s clearly a KA talking and this makes me super NOT interested in their opinion cause it’s obviously fucking biased.
OFC I can only imagine what they said:
“Anna is a better queen cause she’s a social butterfly”. LOL “He can read so he can be king!” “Elsa always wanted to be free so she belongs to a deadly ice tomb!”
Wrong Wrong and....Wrong
- Anna may become a good queen, in times, after she studied for all those years Elsa spent on the books while she was outside playing, once she’ll learn to be PATIENT, once she’ll change her life and wake up early every day, once she’ll tell Kristoff he can go play alone cause she’s busy working, once she’ll not be annoyed by paperwork and she’ll do what Elsa did: stay in her office from 8am to 8pm. She has a long road ahead.
Of course I go by canon, by what years of movies and books told us of Elsa’s job. Surely, they could retcon it and make it super easy for Anna, but it wouldn’t be very realistic, and I’ll reject it as the entirity of F2.
- LOL c’mon. Not even the writers super KA fans believe he can be good at that! That’s why they have Mathias there, helping Anna, and not him. He even said he can’t stay dressed for the PART for more than 1 hour (and he was playing a part!), imagine the real thing! In a deleted scene he even says he hates Arendelle and in another he talks to a dignitaire of reindeers and harvest while Olaf’s playing piano. Is that what a “king” does? I doubt it. And he’s not a king btw, he could eventually be prince consort but we know it’s a facade. He can’t be helpful at all and they’re delusional to believe he could remotely help Anna. Not as Elsa did.
- Elsa never wanted to be free once she got control of her powers. The end. There’s nothing else to say there. A retcon in F2 they made just to push their favorite on the spotlight, doesn’t make it true to me or realistic.

so these are like The Very Basics of Deity Finding™**:
1. research
this isn’t a first step, this is the most important part of deity work and will factor into everything you do.
finding a deity you click with can be hard. to make it a little easier, instead of looking through lists one pantheon at a time, look for domains you connect with. poetry, magic, the moon, nature, agriculture, etc, and it’ll be narrowed down and less overwhelming. after that, you have to weed out which gods are from closed practices or cultures — vodou, most indigenous practices, etc are closed/require initiation — so that you know not to interact with those gods unless you’re part of the culture or initiated into it. if you think one of those closed deities is reaching out to you, you’re wrong, cleanse yourself and your area immediately and put up wards. once you’ve finished clearing out the closed deities, look at the ones that are left open. if any name in particular sticks out or feels different to you, do deeper research, go into multiple websites and books to find out who they are. if you feel connected enough to them, it’s time to go to the next part of deity work:
2. contact
this can be a very dangerous step if you don’t know what you’re doing. have wards or other protections set up and sturdy, make your intentions extremely clear so that you don’t draw any lesser or malevolent spirits into your space by trying to communicate with your chosen deity/ies.
when contacting a deity, going into it blind is an extremely bad idea and, in my opinion, intensely disrespectful. do your research, know who you’re talking to, and give some kind of offering beforehand. offerings and how to dispose of them will differ depending on the culture the deity comes from — some allow you to eat them, others don’t; some prefer alcohol, others want prayer or meditation, art or rocks or a lit candle maybe. most gods will understand that you’re only using what’s available to you if you clarify that you mean no disrespect and can’t offer much more. a good rule of thumb is if it’s something you want for yourself, give it to the god/s, to show that it’s a sacrifice you’re making to appease them. using culturally accurate offerings helps as well, though it’s not always necessary (this wholly depends on the god, you will be able to tell by your intuition whether or not the deity approves of your offering).
to actually communicate with the deity, there’s multiple different techniques. prayer, divination, godphoning (not recommended for beginners and also not everyone is able to do it, don’t feel bad if you can’t and don’t let it get to your head if you can), etc. some gods may prefer a certain kind of divination if you can help it — when i interact with the irish gods, they much prefer me to use ogham, and the norse ofc prefer runes. my personal buffer for all pantheons is tarot because it’s easiest to get everything in one reading if need be. pendulums are a very good place to start with deity communication via divination because they’re simple and easy to use and the deity can channel themselves directly into the tool rather than just influencing which one you pick up. this part is largely preferential, and will depend on your skills/preferences and your deity/ies’.
3. respect
always gotta have 3, a good number. but also, as obvious as this may seem, a lot of people don’t follow this! so i’m going to outline it anyway.
a lot of this can depend on your relationship with your deity, but some things are toeing a line that should stay uncrossed at all costs. remember: these are deities, ancient entities who can and will fuck you all the way up. infantilising them, treating them are soft and fluffy and rainbows and unicorns and shit, ignoring that they are powerful beings: that is blatant disrespect, and also just a weird thing to do, imo. don’t use them as spell ingredients, aka don’t only give them offerings or pray to them when you need something from them. that’s selfish, and not how you build a relationship with a deity. some deities will allow for nicknames or name calling, odin is very commonly called the old bastard or the old man, but other deities don’t like that kind of thing, so it’s best to ask them and get a feel for their energy surrounding the question before settling on a nickname. your relationship with a deity will very likely not be exactly the same as another person’s relationship with the same one — deities appear to people differently and while there may often be similarities, there are just as often differences. i’ve never met someone with a similar relationship with odin as i have, and that’s okay! it’s still odin, all of our experiences are valid even if they don’t exactly follow a pattern. deities with multiple domains may be with you for one thing but with another person for something different. disrespecting a person’s relationship with their god is almost the same as disrespecting the god themselves; everybody has differences, and so long as the relationship is healthy on both ends, it’s completely valid.
**this post was written to help a person in a discord server i’m in. these are just my tips, i’m in no way peddling this as the only way to do deity work. if you have other tips, feel free to add them, but if you fundamentally disagree with anything i’ve said: please keep it to yourself. i don’t have any energy to be arguing. just keep scrolling.
terfs/swerfs/radfems/gender crits/nazis/bigots/etc will be blocked on sight

hi manon! would you mind giving us your thoughts on tlou part ii? i played the games recently and it made me wonder about your opinion on it
hi! of course! ☺️
Just wanna mention that this is my opinion and you’re all totally free from disagreeing.
I personally really, really liked the game. First time playing it I went in without being spoiled so everything was a surprise to me. Joel’s death broke me in many ways, I dearly loved him as I played the first game so many times. I was kinda disappointed that we weren’t able to play Joel.
For me, that’s the only flaw of the game. I loved everything else. The best part is when you have Dina as your companion imo, but even without her the game is so good.
During my first playthrough I didn’t really enjoy playing as Abby, mostly because I played the game in three days and was still shocked by Joel’s death but during my second playthrough I took more time to play it and allow myself to enjoy everything- I understood a bit more Abby and ended up enjoying playing her. I’m still traumatized by her part down the hospital, that shit was so hard wtf?
Overall, I love Ellie and Abby’s part almost equally. I loved the story the game gave us ( besides Joel’s death ofc ) I love Ellie and Dina’s relationship, I think it was lowkey unnecessary to make them break up while it still makes total sense why it happened. I believe that the ending, where Ellie goes back to Dina and hers farm, Ellie already got back to Jackson and is with Dina and JJ again- the way she didn’t have her backpack, she was all clean and was wearing Dina’s bracelet again. She looked peaceful too.
Also, I feel like the final fight between Ellie and Abby was underwhelming? Like, yeah it made sense but I wish the final fight wasn’t while both were exhausted and weak. I’m glad Ellie didn’t kill Abby- I know Ellie would’ve regretted afterwards, especially because of Lev.
I’m not sure what everyone else think of the ending and while I wish we were shown that Ellie sent back to Jackson and to Dina and JJ, I still like the ending, it was open ended.
Now let’s quickly talk about the graphics of the game,,, holy shit! Like fuck, it was gorgeous. From all the characters designs, all the different kinds of infected, the many different sceneries. Everything was perfect. Let’s not forget to mention how much we can interact with everything around.
Seeing the success of tlou II, I still believe there might be a third game. I’m not too sure if I want it or not tbh, like I really want to see Ellie, Dina , JJ, Abby and Lev again but let’s be honest, if they do make a third one- they’re gonna suffer again.
Like, in my mind, it has to have a third part or a really long DLC, Naughty Dogs are masterminds, they wouldn’t have added that group of fireflies on the Catalina Island. It wouldn’t make sense that they leave it that way like??? Did Abby and Lev got to the fireflies? Are Ellie and Dina happy and raising JJ together? What’s the fireflies plan(s)? Do they still want Ellie? Are they planning revenge on her?
There are way too many questions still unanswered!
I’m sorry it got so long I think you probably just wanted my opinion in a few lines but yeah 😭 tlou II is not my second favorite game ever for nothing 🥺

And I also will admit that part of why I don't like fearless (it's under 1989 for sure) is because I absolutely hate fifteen. It's her worst song bar none and I will not allow anyone to disagree, it makes me cringe so much I can't listen to it. It was fine until she started talking about Abigail losing her virginity, that's where she lost me. Other than that it's a good album with some of her best songs (The Way I Love You is unmatched) but no. Anyway I have a lot of opinions, you're welcome
mama you know this is the opinion zone feel free
also again i am deeply offended i love fifteen but can see how it’s cringe or whatever. i agree with the statement that like the good ones on fearless are fucking GOOD but the rest are just eh at best you know
like change is one of my fave TS songs and then you’re not sorry, forever & always, and ofc fearless herself all absolutely slap. god also the way i loved you. a banger.
