I feel like Satosugu keep their PDA and pet names in private. Like they are professionals. Satoru is the same level of touchy as he would be with Nanami or Shoko so the kids don't even catch that they're dating.

They're such good friends Yuji and Nobara think, Nobara feels sorry for Geto Sensei, imagine being stuck with Gojo for that many years??? He must have the patience of a saint! Yuji disagrees, Gojo is fun and despite seeming serious Geto Sensei does make jokes too.

"He's his best friend, Geto Sensei likes Gojo Sensei as much as he likes him, he's just not as vocal about it! Like me and Fushiguro!"

Fushiguro goes red. He doesn't mean it like that does he?

"But we're not dating" Megumi says. They stare at him stunned.

Yuji goes a little pink, confused look on his face, he stumbles. "Yeah of course we arent- what are you- what do you mean?"

"Wait are you saying Geto Sensei and Gojo are???" Nobara shrieks. Megumi watches them, trying not to roll his eyes.

"You can't seriously not see it"

"No way. Geto Sensei is cool and immaculate he would NEVER date someone like Gojo."

Megumi sighs. "Fine. I'm not spelling this out for you. Just...they don't make it obvious but trust me on this I've known them both most of my life. I've never seen them apart"

"Just because they're close doesn't mean they're together together" Nobara says but she's curious now. It isn't like Fushiguro to lie about something like this. Yuji hasn't said anything, staring at his shoes still as pink as his hair refusing to look at Fushiguro.

Nobara decides then and there she's on the case and is going to prove Fushiguro wrong. He sighs and asks to keep him as far away out of it as possible.

Ahhh, I'll have to disappoint you, though, because you might be misremembering 😅 (I don't have an analysis post on 236).

But! I'll use this opportunity to plug a few things:

I use #my jjk thoughts tag for both my serious meta analyses and also my jjk shitposts/jokes (so it's a fun mix!)

I use #other people's thoughts for reblogs of analyses I find interesting

And I'm not sure which specific post you're thinking of (sorry!!) but one of my very favorite people did a post on Gojo's characterization (and reader reactions) in 236 (Just go and follow @fushiglow already and consume all of their beautiful fic and art and meta)

Actually, I don't have much analysis on Gojo at all (which is interesting because I have a LOT of opinions on him.) I've made short posts about his relationship with Megumi and one relating to my strongly held belief that Gojo cares a lot about his students and their ability to be young and have fun. But maybe I'll have to set aside some time to write out some of my Gojo opinions. (Spoiler: he's flawed and complicated, but imo consistently unfairly treated in-universe and out.)

Most of my in-depth analysis has been on Geto's feelings about Gojo, because (for some reason) I tend to see a lot of people interpreting Geto as callous and unloving towards Gojo (especially in relation to how much Gojo loves Geto), and I really believe they both deeply love each other but experience and act on their love in very different ways. So that's been my soapbox issue again and again and again.

tips for writing fanfics? i love your writing style so much!!

I'm sorry I waited so long to reply, but I've been struggling on how to answer it! (Am I even qualified to answer this question?? Take everything I say with a grain of salt!)

This will probably be a disappointing post, because I think tips for writing fanfic are mostly the same as general writing tips. (Practice, edit, think about the perspective of a reader, have a strong perspective, etc.)

Fanfic is a fun "genre" of writing because it willingly subverts some of the "rules" of other creative writing. e.g., a lot of the character building (+ world building, if you're in canonverse) is done for you (but you still need to think about character development over the course of your story, if you're going for that).

A lot of the fanfic writing styles (which tend to be more "casual" imo) aren't what you'd find in a traditionally published book, either, and I think that contributes to this perception that fanfic writers are "bad" writers. But, I think that if fanfics are effective in drawing people in and conveying emotions and crafting a compelling story, etc., then they are "good" writing, almost by definition. They're effective in achieving the goal of fanfic. (Even pure smut writing is good writing if it turns people on, right?)

(I'm not even saying this in defense of my own fanfic writing. I write differently for fanfic than I do for other creative writing I do, but I don't think my fanfic work is better or worse - just different!)

And, at the end of the day, I don't think fanfic even needs to be "good." If the writer simply enjoys writing it or uses fanfic to process their thoughts / emotions, then that's all it needs to be!

Was this a long, empty post with no actionable tips?? (Probably). If you have any follow ups / questions on specific aspects of fanfic, please let me know. I'd love to actually be helpful here 😅

I don’t have an AO3 account so I can’t leave a comment on your fic, but can I just say how much I loved it? I’m not kidding when I say I’ve read it 3 times already and I’ll probably read it again because no other fics I’ve tried compare to yours. The characterization was spot on and consistent, and you weaved such a precious story around the jjk universe. I’ll always wish there was more to read because I love these characters and the way you write them, but I’m genuinely so blessed to have stumbled upon such a perfect story in the first place.

It's actually surreal and mind blowing to me that someone could read my fic THREE TIMES???

Sometimes when I think of my fic, it feels like a silly, porny fever dream I had, but honestly so much of myself and my heart went into certain bits of it that it is incredibly meaningful to me when people connect strongly with it. (Should I say something cheesy about the beauty of human connection and commonality?)

And, actually, anyone who just enjoys the simple, fun, smutty-ness of it is sort of amazing to me, too. (Don't we, as a society, shit too much on simple pleasures? I love brainless entertainment sometimes)

Anyway, I'm just trying to find the right words to thank you and maybe failing. So: thank you!

satosugu headcannons

Satoru and Suguru were roommates at some point

Satoru once had an ominous dream and he refused to sleep afterwards so Suguru offered to let him sleep in his lap bed

They've showered together

Satoru despises the idea of Suguru cutting his hair even an inch

Satoru physically gets over-the-top proprietorial with Suguru whenever girls are around

Only Suguru has seen Satoru cry

Suguru hates waking up early, or at least did until Satoru mentioned how he's unpleasant without his morning coffee so now geto wakes up early religiously just to make gojo morning coffee

Suguru also becomes a little clingy when women are around but tends to hide it well

Suguru likes wearing Satoru's aftershave when he thinks he isn't noticing

Satoru loves that

"What happened?" "Nothing" "I know every inch of your body and I know for a fact that that scar wasn't there before" energy

Suguru loves that Satoru takes off his glasses only around him (mostly)

And of course they share clothes

Satoru is a goner for Suguru's eyes

They often bicker about who's taller

After basketball practice, Satoru always purposely leaves forgets his bag in the locker room so he can walk in on Suguru showering

And of course Suguru makes a show out of washing his hair and pretending Satoru isn't devouring him with his eyes

They're never flaccid around each other-

Suguru was is Satoru's moral compass
