I've been re-reading LORE | REKINDLED from time to time everytime a new chapter comes out, it's just something I've been in the habit of doing incase I pick up anything that might've flown over my head the first time and also because your artstyle is just very nice to look at

Though I was wondering, if the gods can teleport, what is the use of cars for? Hades teleported back home and let Charon take his car back which became the inciting incident for Persephone to end up in the Underworld. Is it for carpooling? Just to show off status and riches? To keep up with modern trends?

I hope I didn't come off too strong with my question, it was just something that popped into my mind while I was rereading. Your rewrite is extremely fascinating and I'm excited to see how it continues!

Olympus and the Underworld differ in how they operate. Olympus has many gods who are revered and worshipped, and as such their society was largely built on the relationship between gods and mortals through the offerings made by humans and the boons given by gods.

The Underworld, on the other hand, couldn't depend on such gifts as many mortals don't worship them in the same way as Olympians - rather, they're feared and whispered about, with the common belief that to speak the names of the Underworld gods would be to invoke death and chaos.

So, to ensure that the Underworld could still develop, Hades had to build the Underworld through the exchange of goods and services (i.e. capitalism).

Shades have no need for economy. They're dead. So while some do wind up working for Hades in indebted servitude (specifically the beings who attempted to bargain with the God of the Dead), the majority of them are simply cast into Asphodel, Elysium, or Tartarus, depending on the judgment given by Hades, and live out the rest of their afterlives wherever they end up.

Through all this, Olympus and the Underworld have worked together closely to advance their respective realms at an even pace. Hephaestus has operated as a freelancer working as a middleman between the two, lending his skills to the technological advancement of the realms.

Satyrs and nymphs make up a large part of the populations in both the Underworld and Olympus (though for nymphs, there are certain restrictions as to where they can travel depending on their original form - not all nymphs can survive in the Underworld) so much of their respective societies were built around the inclusion of nymphs and satyrs as a result. Gods can teleport, satyrs and nymphs can't. As such, much of the technology present in both realms is for the benefit of satyrs and nymphs, including cars. It's why we see Hades driving a car in the first episode (as he was planning on picking up Minthe) and again when showing Persephone the rainbow bridge connecting the realms, but not when he's simply travelling around on his own. Satyrs and nymphs aren't so much "lower class" as they are just beings who don't have the luxuries of teleportation and flight like gods do - they still contribute and are acknowledged as residents of their realms by the gods who reign over them, so the gods have done their part to ensure that the nymphs and satyrs can exist within a functional society that benefits both them and the gods. Just like with the mortals, it's on the gods' shoulders to ensure their subjects can thrive.

Apollo is one of the few gods who uses cars as a status symbol as he has a very distinctly golden vehicle that makes it easy to identify him. He's very much trying to be seen (•̀ᴗ•́)و

and when they occupied ferelden their teachings bled into ferelden which until that point worshiped her as more of a warrior and of her defiance against tevinter, which is why while the character creator claims 'men and women are seen as equal' ferelden only a generation free of the orlesian occupation can be rather sexist, seemingly unintentionally with most citizens, but with deliberate intent with others like rendon howe

Hi! Happy to answer! This wiki puts it really succinctly but the tl;dr is this:

Somebody who accepts plurality of all shapes and sizes, no matter what.

We've been fakeclaimed, called horrible names and so on-- such is common for *any* system, let alone a fictive-heavy, multigenic one like us. Even though we hit practically every diagnostic criteria for DID and are professionally diagnosed.

I mean, no wonder so many systems are closetted in one way or another, right? If we wanna be supported in any way, we gotta put on a ton of false labels and mask.

This label is our little way of pushing back against the fakeclaiming and hate-- as well as providing an online safe space for those similar to us, or those that otherwise support our cause.

Keep in mind: we're not a psych professional, and our takes are just that-- opinions. If ya want a clearer, less biased, picture of plurality, make sure to talk to others. We're just one lil guy!

I do sometimes! It helps me when I'm doing schoolwork bc I need to hear myself say something stupid to know I'm doing something stupid. If you've ever heard of the rubber duck method, thats what i do but not to a duck.

At least 60 percent of the time though when it sounds like I'm talking to myself, I'm usually cofronting and I talk out loud. Kinda like an asserting dominance thing but its not really, it just helps if we arent all talking internally sometimes.

I may not be knowledgeable to talk about this, but dark concept. What if having superpowers in the NSR world was not normal at all. So although Vinyl City is open to those with powers, in other parts of that world… having powers makes you a target. Hence there are not much cities in the world which make energy with magic. (… I’m not confident about this)

I personally see the whole world full of magic, even if it's small things like the magic of making food taste a little better or big things like being able to change matter around you.

Music is just one of the easiest ways to project magic/power outwardly. Like idk, maybe Mama can make plants grow faster around her, so no matter where she is plants just flourish when she is around. But when she plays music or sings it shoots out energy/magic/power that lets her build forests in moments if that is her intention.

Like going back to the food thing, you might have a natural talent to make food taste better, but if you practice and hone your skills you could create food quicker with special effects compared to someone without that power/magic.

Some people have less magic than other people, or at least LOOK like they have less magic. Think like the Sayu crew alone don't have amazing super powers, but together they are able to combine their skills to make a more powerful entity. So those people need to work harder to strengthen their magic, while others like DJ, Eve, and Mama have a naturally easy time projecting their powers, to the point they actually lose control of their powers sometimes.

Then there are people who I see that look like they don't have any natural talent when their talent/power is literally to MAKE power/magic. Like I see May's magic as just naturally able to produce energy around her, same with Neon J before becoming a cyborg. Both of these two just exude natural magic when doing stuff. Which they can then use to learn other types of magic.

Like I also think Neon can shoot lasers out of his hand without even having to have built that into his body. May can learn all those different abilities in game. So can Zuke, but he already has magic in the case of a shadow puppet (which I do think he has one, he just doesn't use it all that much).

So basically, different magics/powers make different power supplies. Music is one of the easiest ways to harness magical output and transform it into electrical power. Other magics, like just straight up electrical magic, that a lot of robots and some humans or elementals have, can be used to make electricity.

Plant, weather, natural magics can be used to power up the land itself. Making fields more fertile or harvest more plentiful. Keeping pollution down or stopping/diverting natural disasters.

Food, psychological, physiological magic can be used to boost other living creatures to a certain extent. This would allow other people to use their powers more and be a boost to whatever their magic allows. Or the user of these could boost themself and just produce more power solo style.

I will be honest. I don't have anything super concrete like major examples or stories I can give about the way I think about magic. I just know that the passion behind your talent can give you modification and boosts.

Music is one of the easiest ways to harness magic which is why the world is based off of music. It's not the source of magic though, just an amplifier/tool to cast your magic. You can still use/cast magic without ever even knowing how to play an instrument or sing.

I probably contradicted myself at some point in here, or from things I said in the past. I don't try to think TOO much on the logistics of magic in the NSR universe. I probably should. So maybe I will work on my ideas and give a better answer at some point. But for now this is what I have.
