The medicalization of plurality that's ingrained into our brain has caused so many issues for me. Just the implications of that take such a toll every day. The idea that the life I remember living was never real. That none of the memories that shaped me into the person I am were ever real. The symptoms of PTSD I experience for things that never happened to this body (or even anything in the same realm, and no, it's not just repressed), aren't based in reality. People always say "well it's real to you" but that isn't enough. I'm not looking for validation about the way I feel about it or how it affects me. It was real, and I'm tired of pretending it wasn't.
Imagine waking up in a body that isn't yours. You know exactly who you are and where you came from, even if a lot of the details are foggy. But then everyone tells you that your existence is the product of a disorder, of traumas that you have no connection to because you didn't live them. And everything you remember? Didn't happen. It's all just shit your brain created to fill a gap or something, process the trauma (that you have no connection to). And that's honestly the best case scenario, if they're not calling you crazy or delusional.
So shoutout to all the beings with past lives who are constantly being invalidated by the medicalized bullshit of this world. If you say your life was real, we're gonna believe you. If that changes and you realize it was in fact a trauma response, then that's okay, we'll believe you then too. It's rough out there for beings like us, but just know you're not alone in having to put up with this shit.

is "I love you guys" to plurals what "I love myself" is to singlets?

The distinction on posts shouldn't be pro, neutral, and anti-endo.
It should be endo safe and endo unsafe.
Endo-safe includes pro and the majority of neutral opinions I've seen, which usually end up similar to "It's not my place to delve into your personal business" or literally just "I don't care". Either way, it is safe for an endo to interact.
Cause like if you put nothing about syscourse on your DNI you're still safe for endos. You also don't have to disclose your personal opinion on pro, neutral, or anything between.
Endo unsafe is anti endo blogs. There are posts here against endos, the owner doesn't want endos on the blog, etc.
Just my opinion it would be nice to see a blog be labelled endo safe just to assure people that they're not going to be on a blog with hate towards them specifically.

Friendly reminder that being traumagenic or a DID/OSDD system doesn’t give you the right to be shitty to other types of systems. We may not experience plurality in the same way as you do, but we exist anyway, and we’re going to continue existing and supporting each other in spite of all the fakeclaimers and endophobes.
There’s no single “correct” way to exist and no system is more or less valid than any other.

Sysmeds are so quick to hate on endo systems saying that they harm the community, but the honest truth is that we personally wouldn't know what DID is without them.
The first time we really understood what was going on with us, was after we had to look up the word 'headmate' used to describe the mod of an rp blog that we were looking at.
Them just existing out in the wild let us know that we weren't the only ones. Them just using that one word opened so many doors to information that we never even knew were there.
Although we now have members that we don't believe formed from trauma, our system itself originally did.
We are by definition a traumagenic system and we know that because an endo gave us the very first word we could ever use to describe ourselves.
They didn't harm, they helped more than they'll ever know.

why does it feel so weird to post in traumagenic system tags when you're pro endo. like I AM a traumagenic system, I have OSDD, a very classic presentation with a lot of trauma, all that's different is that I don't hate endos. why do I feel so scared of interacting with the rest of my kind. rather, why has my kind scared me away from associating with them because I don't hate an innocent group of people
reminder to myself and everyone else that being a pro endo osddid system doesn't forbid you from posting about being an osddid system. anybody who disagrees is just an asshole. solidarity is key in healing and feeling good about your disorder 👍
I CANT BELIEVE I HAVE TO SAY THIS, BUT IF YOU HATE ENDOS THIS POST IS ABOUT HOW I CANT STAND YOU. PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE. WHY ARE YOU ASSHOLES INCAPABLE OF MINDING YOUR OWN FUCKING BUSINESS

you don't need to have been abused to be a traumagenic system
look, I know when people say "traumagenic" they usually - not always - basically mean repeated abuse before the age of ~12 (or ~9, depending on who you ask).
but that's not the only way for a system to be traumagenic. and also remember, traumagenic =/= DID/OSDD/UDD. we personally are a traumagenic system without a dissociative disorder (and we never had one).
you know, growing up poor can be traumatic enough to cause you to form a traumagenic system. depression can be traumatic. any mental illness, disorder or disability can be inherently traumatic and cause you to form a system.
there are so many reasons why you can identify as a traumagenic system. of course it can be abuse, but also a million other things. you don't have to fit into any boxes, if trauma caused your system, you can call yourself traumagenic.
your trauma counts, doesn't matter how it looked like or when it took place. doesn't matter if you have a dissociative disorder. doesn't even matter if your trauma only indirectly caused your system, however that might exactly look like in your case.
there are others like you, so don't shy away from using the terms you want to use!

One note we always make when researching plural history is how incredibly difficult it must be to keep an anti-endogenic stance when you know the history of the community. Which is exactly why they don't bother to learn about those people & forums that shaped plural culture years before they were even born.
It rings similar to the queer discourse happening over on Twitter at the moment. They don't know the history and yet are making dangerous and exclusive claims anyway, just looking to pick a fight when they have no idea what they're talking about. They have no idea how frankly stupid they sound arguing these points that have literally never been brought up until the last decade, on Tumblr.

anti endos stop saying "plural" challenge.
the term plural is inherently inclusive of all system origins, and if you're anti-endo you should not be using that terminology lmaoo.
I've seen so many servers posted on disboard under the "plural" tag that are anti-endo. stop.

Idk, there's something that always bugs us about the statement "endos claiming to have DID/OSDD-1" instead of something like "DID/OSDD-1 systems who are endogenic" or "endogenic systems with DID/OSDD-1".
Okay I lied, I do know. It's the "claim" part. It's always that the hypothetical system is endogenic first and foremost. It's always a given. That goes without question (okay it's definitely questioned but I'll get back to that).
But they only claim to have DID/OSDD-1. When this phrasing is trotted out its never a given that the system has DID/OSDD-1. It's never believed that a system can exist prior to developing a dissociative disorder. Or that a system with a dissociative disorder can discover or recognize how they came to be and not ascribe that to trauma. It implies that the system doesn't have the disorder that they have.
And that framing is really unfair.
Wouldn't it be shitty if we did the same thing elsewhere? If someone said "this adult who claims to be autistic"? Or "this woman who claims to be a lesbian"? Or "this non-binary person who claims to be trans"? Or "this traumagenic system that claims to have DID/OSDD-1"?
We've seen all of those tossed around for the same reason. That last one is said (not in those words of course) by folks I think most of us would generally agree are being shitty. It's said by people who will fakeclaim any system for any reason. It's said by those that will fakeclaim a system for being queer or online. That's really bad company to have.
The usual response we see in defense of endogenic systems is "Most endogenic systems don't claim to have DID/OOSDD-1." Which is true, yes! We can't help but feel like that's talking about this on the fakeclaimer's terms though. We aren't asking folks to change how they respond of course, because we don't really know a better way to reject the accusation.
But those endogenic systems with DID/OSDD-1 aren't simply "claiming" to have DID/OSDD-1 any more than traumagenic systems are "claiming" to. They just have those disorders and are sharing that information about themselves.
While "endos are claiming to have DID/OSDD-1" puts the endogenic part first, implicitly leaving the diagnosis up for questioning, there is a flip side (see, I'm getting back to it).
To compliment the above, fakeclaimers will say that disordered endogenic systems just really don't know about their trauma; essentially that these DID/OSDD-1 systems are just claiming to be endogenic. Of course, we don't see it phrased that way. It's usually trying to be nicer. These poor misguided systems were tricked into thinking that they're endogenic. Or these foolish systems don't really know their origin. Or these crazy systems can't be trusted with their own experiences, cause that's what DID/OSDD-1 does to you.
It's patronizing. It's invalidating. It's disrespectful. It's sanism. It is opposed to disability rights and mad liberation. It speaks over DID/OSDD-1 systems.
These two claims compliment each other. They both feed into the idea that plurality (or at least DID/OSDD-1) can only exist for traumagenic systems. Anyone who disputes that with their lived experiences are either malicious fakers doing some stolen valor shit and invading spaces, or poor "real" systems that are just manipulated/ignorant/crazy.
Huh? That sounds familiar. Reminds me of attacks on trans folk that paint us as dangerous predatory invaders or poor deluded children falling for peer pressure... I would say it's strange or surprising, but we've gotten pretty used to attacks on systems having analogues in transphobia.
Anyways, endogenic systems aren't "claiming" to have DID/OSDD-1. Most endogenic systems don't have DID/OSDD-1, and they never said they do. Some endogenic systems do have DID/OSDD-1, and they share that part of their lives. Some DID/OSDD-1 systems are endogenic, and they have just as much right and ability to determine what caused their system to form and talk about it as any other system.

Why do so many sysmeds seem to base their whole identities around the concept of pain and suffering?
One of the most common arguments we see amongst anti-endos is the idea that endos and their supporters promote this fantasy where DID/OSDD is all fun and happy. Anti-endos claim that we downplay the difficult parts of having a dissociative disorder (fragmented memory, PTSD, an altered or incomplete sense of self, etc).
But here's the thing..... endos aren't actually saying that.
Having DID/OSDD is hard, especially when you don't have access to the proper support. Nobody is denying that fact. But what's so bad about the people who have these disorders choosing to seek out the positives instead of being miserable all the time?
Anti-endos will even attack other traumagenic systems for not having the same mindset. To us, it almost feels like the people who make this argument are jealous that other plurals with DID/OSDD don't let their suffering dictate their sense of self. In fact, it even feels like these people don't even want to heal or seek help. They've become so engrossed in their misery that they can't possibly fathom the idea that others aren't also suffering 24/7. When you build your whole identity around your pain and misery, seeing anyone who doesn't think and act that way is going to make you angry and upset.
It's so incredibly easy to fall down a rabbit hole of thoughts when all you can think about is how miserable you are. That's why so many people struggle to get out of depression; it eventually becomes second nature for your brain to adopt a negative thinking pattern, and changing your thought process is unbelievably hard. This is especially true with people who have suffered abuse and/or trauma, because of the way these things impact them mentally and emotionally.
And maybe this is why so many anti-endos make the argument that our community downplays the negative aspects of having DID/OSDD. They see the plurals who have these disorders and seemingly aren't constantly suffering, and they get defensive because how DARE these systems who have the same disorder as them not be in misery all day, every day? How DARE these systems make the decision to accept the good and bad things that come with their disorders. How DARE people choose to not let their suffering define who they are.
