i have a question for system / plural tumblr
what would be the term for someone that has multiple people in their head, but they don't switch? like the one person is always in front, but the others members can be co conscious
this isn't about me just to clarify. i have a friend that told me they have very distinct voices with distinct identities but they don't front and don't have any amnesia

I don’t know if this is even a system thing, or like, daydreaming-related. But do other systems experience what we call “autopilot”? Usually whoever is fronting gets distracted or is daydreaming or dissociated (in any way doesn’t know what the body is doing for a while) and the body just does things on its own. And then when the fronter comes to, they’re like “hey! This isn’t what I wanted to do.”
Like, I’m going into a room to pick up a water bottle and throw it away, and then suddenly I find myself scanning the fridge, water bottle untouched. Or I want to go to the computer and sit down, and instead find myself putting on my coat as if I was about to go outside.
It’s never what we planned to do. If it’s an alter, they clearly have no clue what they were supposed to do. And if not, it’s - what- my subconscious who doesn’t use logic or have access to my memories?
I don’t know. It feels like an alter, but it also feels… automatic. Like being on autopilot. Only a rogue autopilot that doesn’t follow the course I’ve set.

Ok I gotta ask because this has caused mental chaos for so long
Is it normal for system communication to happen through thoughts instead of auditory hallucinations? Like I'm able to talk with the others sometimes (not all the time) through thinking but I've only heard someone audibly say something like twice in the past year

Do you all think there is such a thing as brain-made alters identifying so much with a fictional character months or even years after they first split, that they take on that characters looks & name instead?
And if yes, would they still be considered brain-made? Or a fictive? Or a mixture of both?

what's the system origin for when you unknowingly create your system to cope with severe trauma? but your past the "designated age limit" to have DID but you fit all the criteria for DID except your system formed at the age of 13 due to getting hit by a Ford F150 and after that your forced to relive every traumatic event you've ever had which is A LOT so now you don't know what exactly caused it? but you think you created your system to cope with this instead
edit ; I found out our system is schizogenic

Silly quick question:
So we all know about alters being systems = type of subsystem.. Can these alters have different type of DID? Like...okay.. let's say someone is a DID system and their alter is an OSDD system? is that a thing?
- just curious 🛸

(Rb for reach!)
This isn't about how many there actually are/were, but about how many you thought were there/knew of. Obviously this number might vary depending on who's answering, so I guess use your best judgement when answering (ex - you could either answer for specifically you, the first alter to discover the system, or something else entirely)

Are there any systems who have supportive parents/parents who weren't the reason for their trauma? Do they know about your DID?

System Poll!
I've seen a lot of system polls and unfortunately most of them have either already ended, or have an "endo DNI" criteria or are unclear on whether those with endogenic origins are welcome to interact, so I've decided to make/remake some polls I'm interested in. Please share and reblog for reach!

I'm still learning and there's a lot of terms I still don't know. Would someone be okay explaining what introjects are to me? /genq /nf
