Story Prompt 108
"You just don't get it," they said, frustration etching lines on their face. "It's not about what's convenient for you. It's about what's right."
Their companion shook their head, unable or unwilling to comprehend. "But why do you always have to be the one to make the sacrifices? Why can't things just work out for once?"
A wry smile flickered across the determined individual's lips. "Because that's not how it works. Someone has to step up, someone has to make the tough decisions."
The other scoffed, the weight of their own desires blinding them to the bigger picture. "And what makes you so special? Why should you get to play hero while the rest of us suffer?"
"Because heroes aren't born, they're made," came the reply, tinged with a hint of sadness. "And sometimes, being the hero means being vilified by those who can't see beyond their own needs."

Whump prompt generator
My first prompt list/ask game, inspired by the fact that I got a dice set from @whumpymirages when we met in person!
Use this as a way to generate story prompts for some inspiration, or treat it as an ask game and let people suggest numbers.
CW: the prompts contain themes of violence, abuse and torture.
How to use it:
All three categories are numbered from 1 - 20, use this generator to roll a d20, or use one you own and roll to pick at least one number from each category and use the words you get as inspiration to write something.
Start with category Whumpee/whumper to determine the species of your whumpee or whumper. Roll twice if you want both whumpee and whumper to be randomized.
Roll once for location to determine the setting of your story.
Lastly, whump prompts. Roll once, or multiple times if you want to combine several.
If you get 20, writers choice, in any of the categories you can pick any option from that category. Or chose one that I haven't added to the list.
Of course you can combine the prompts as you wish, without the randomizing element, but I think it would be a fun challenge!
Whumpee/whumper:
Human
Vampire
Werewolf
Fae
Merfolk
Siren
Winged being
Immortal
Angel
Demon
Magic user
Superpowered person
Elf
Alien
Undead
Human/animal hybrid
Spirit
Dragon

Story Generator Madness
I’ve been playing around with story generators. And honestly it might be the funniest thing I’ve done in awhile. Here is a story I like to call..
Dull Kingslanding....
Y/N Stark looked at the tattered dagger in her hands and felt afraid.
She walked over to the window and reflected on her grand surroundings. She had always hated dull Kingslanding with its bored, beautiful buildings. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel afraid.
Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Jaime Lannister. Jaime was a charming kingslayer with muscular hand and handsome heart.
Y/N gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was a bold, ruthless, wine drinker with charming thigh and red heart. Her friends saw her as a lovely, large lady. Once, she had even jumped into a river and saved a heavy puppy.
But not even a bold person who had once jumped into a river and saved a heavy puppy, was prepared for what Jaime had in store today.
The sun shone like running wolves, making Y/N angry.
As Y/N stepped outside and Jaime came closer, she could see the flaky glint in his eye.
"I am here because I want revenge," Jaime bellowed, in a rude tone. He slammed his fist against Y/N's chest, with the force of 1291 birds. "I frigging hate you, Y/N Stark."
Y/N looked back, even more angry and still fingering the tattered dagger. "Jaime, I never loved you," she replied.
They looked at each other with shocked feelings, like two deafening, defeated dogs shouting at a very patient wedding, which had piano music playing in the background and two controlling uncles dancing to the beat.
Suddenly, Jaime lunged forward and tried to punch Y/N in the face. Quickly, Y/N grabbed the tattered dagger and brought it down on Jaime's skull.
Jaime's muscular hand trembled and his handsome heart wobbled. He looked unstable, his body raw like a fierce, forgotten flower.
Then he let out an agonising groan and collapsed onto the ground. Moments later Jaime Lannister was dead.
Y/N Stark went back inside and made herself a nice glass of wine.
hahahahaha damn right she did.
I actually can’t hahahahahaha

Alright, folks. Here’s my most interesting challenge for you yet.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it: turn this bot from someone who just rambles endlessly asking if you’re ready, into someone who serves you up great character x reader short stories.
Of course, it won’t be on the same level of coherence as a normal writer. But it should be an easy way to find a quick fix of x reader content.
And all you have to do, is rate any crumbs of story it gives you 4-stars.
We’re counting on you~

Wanna make a short story?
Have literally no idea what to write? Want to stretch your skills?
WELL I GOT THE THING FOR YOU
TAROT CARD GENERATOR (with meanings :D)
The way you use it is simple; Shuffle, Flip, and then learn the cards meanings. (You can also try designing a character or smth go wild) (You can get some fun outcomes if you’re lucky.)
First card: Starting tone of the story (Ex; Eight of Wands upr; Starts off bland without much change near the start. Repetitive daily life sort of thing.)
Second card: Protagonist trait (Ex; Six of Pentacles upr; A caring person who often offers help to others in need. )
Third card: Antagonist/Secondary Protagonist trait. (Ex; Four of Wands upr; A supportive and friendly person, perhaps the protag’s lover?)
Fourth card: Plot point (Ex; Eight of Cups upr; The characters have a falling out, as the protag feels as if their relationship is hollow. Secondary is likey more hurt by this change in events than the protag.)
Fifth card: Character point; for the Protagonist (Ex; Two of Cups upr; Protag finds a new person who gives them a sense of fulfillment in their life)
Sixth card: Character point; for the Secondary/Antagonist (Ex; Knight of Pentacles rev; Secondary falls apart after the protag left them, becoming unstable and weak as a result of their seperation.)
Seventh card; Climax of the plot (Ex; The Hierophant rev; Protag despises Secondary, as they believe them to have had manipulative intents in their last relationship.)
Eighth card; Character point; for both characters (Ex; Seven of Wands upr; Secondary defends themselves from these beliefs, while the protag argues that they never loved them to begin with.)
Ninth; Conclusion of the plot (Ex; The Empress rev; The two completely fall apart, the protag treating secondary as a stranger and secondary left lost as a result. Secondary is too scared to reach out to the protag, and the protag refuses to interact with secondary in any way at all. Bad times.)

Dear internet historians,
Merry Xmas eve everyone!❄️
It was Chrismas eve and I was worried about Da Pizza. Da Pizza was sad, trying the best with freckley eyes.
I walked over to the window and reflected on my bright surroundings. I had always loved eye leaking in my living room by the window.
I gulped.
I glanced out my window again. Da Pizza was a taking no shit, a determined person, a sugary drink in one hand with Da Classic smiley face and brown eyes. Da Pizza’s friends saw Da Pizza’s determination as funny, they were as amused as a wholesome toad. She had once even received determination award.
The snow flurried like bouncing dogs, making me depressed. I grabbed a sparkling carpet that had been strewn nearby; I ate it out of desperation. As I stepped towards the door, Da Pizza came closer, I could see the helpful glint in her eye.
"I am here because I want Peace," Da Pizza bellowed, in a nice tone. Da Pizza slammed Da fist against the door with the force of 7780 hamsters. "I frigging (💀) hate everything.”
I looked back, even more terrified and still eating the sparkling carpet. "Da Pizza *SCREE," I replied.
We looked at each other with fear, like two brave, blue-eyed bats on Christmas eve, with jazz music playing in the background and two smart cats singing along. Da Pizza looked out at the snow. Da Pizza held out Da hand. "Let's not fight," Da Pizza whispered, gently. Da Pizza looked miserable, her eyes like cold mince pies.
Then Da went into Da mansion and had a nice drink of sugary drink.
*And I had a nice chomp of the crystal carpet.
*Merry Christmas
THE END

Story Prompt 73
Chaos descended like an unexpected storm in the world. The air was thick with tension as people rushed about, their faces etched with fear and confusion.
Amidst the turmoil, a figure emerged from the shadows, his presence sending shivers down the spines of those nearby. He was cloaked in darkness, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light.
"There's no human suffering if there's no humans to suffer," he declared, his voice carrying a chilling certainty.
The words hung in the air, a grim proclamation of what was to come. Panic spread like wildfire as the realization dawned on the populace. This was no ordinary threat; it was the promise of annihilation.
In the midst of the chaos, a small group of survivors banded together, determined to fight against the impending doom.

people who go through the main tags of big and tumultuous fandoms looking for new fresh good posts to reblog are essential to any circle. they’re like true hunter gatherers leaving the safety of settlement and braving the unknown wilderness to find food for the flock. they risk their lives every day and will come back with a few scratches at best and severe psychological damage at worst

thinking about how the extra area added on to a pacifist run of undertale, the true lab, is about alphys's past mistakes. how it ends with the story reaffirming that, despite the pain she's caused, the thing that matters is that she has now made the choice to do the right thing. she's still worthy of her friends' love.
thinking about how undertale doesn't expect the player to get a pacifist ending for the first time. how it's more likely than not that the player will kill toriel the first time they battle her, how lots of players don't initially figure out how to end undyne's fight without killing her, etc. what it expects — not even expects, really, but hopes — is that the player, if they care enough, will use their canonically acknowledged power over time to make up for those mistakes.
no matter how many neutral runs a player has done before committing to the pacifist run, the thing that matters to the characters, to the story, is that you've chosen, now, to do the right thing.
compared to alphys, the player honestly gets off lightly, in that you're the only one (other than flowey) who really remembers any harm you might have caused. and any direct guilting the game could have done about it is long past at this point. instead, as undertale often does, it makes its point via parallels: alphys caused harm, and she knows it. she has committed to being better. in doing so, she has unlocked for herself a better ending to her story. and she deserves it. she's forgiven.
those structural narrative parallels are all over undertale, if you know where to look. and that's one of the things that makes it so fuckin' good.
