Summer Love
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
dbf!joel x f!reader
summary: You were the sweet, little, innocent girl that your father had raised perfectly. You went to church every Sunday and made sure to do all your college work before any free time for yourself. Your dad and you had a great relationship, talked about boys, college, friends. Anything. Sometimes your dad's best friend would come over on a warm, summer eve. You'd all sit outside and listen while he played the guitar, every time you were with him, you had a tingly feeling in your core. One night, he decides to do something very unexpected.
warnings: age gap, flirting, teasing, jealous!joel, pervy!joel?(just gonna put that in there incase) sexual tension, referring to pussy as 'she', description of what reader wears, manhandling, piv (wrap it up) oral f!receiving, fingering, clit slapping, joel's dirty mouth, thigh riding, joel not lasting, reader is on birth control, aftercare
authors note: so, I just wrote this little one shot expecting it to be just a drabble, but it is a bit longer than I expected and I'm kind of in love with these two and might turn it into another series 😭 what do you guys think I should do??
Tumblr media
You laugh uncontrollably as your dad makes jokes about this boy at college that you've supposedly had a 'crush' on. "Dad stop!" You swat him on the shoulder as he walks into the kitchen. "Just sayin' sweetheart." He shrugs his shoulders and you roll your eyes.
"I don't like him dad, I didn't even say anything that would hint to that!" You hear a knock on the door and your dad walks over to it. "Yeah yeah." He opens it and immediately smiles.
"Hey man!" He opens his arms wide to the stranger you're not quite sure who it is yet. When he walks in, you're stomach immediately flips. Joel Miller.
He grins at you as you shyly smile. He walks through the door with his guitar, of course, and Tommy walks in too. "Hey uncle Tom!" You smile and give him a big hug. You've always loved Tommy. He's funny and will make a joke about almost anything. Where as Joel, he's a bit more cold.
"Hey yourself." He squeezes you tightly and spins you around. You giggle when he puts you back on the ground. You all make your way outside and onto the back porch. Joel sits in his usual spot, the rocking chair, and you sit next to him on the lounge couch that holds Tommy as well.
He strums the guitar once to see if its tuned and then he begins to play. The night breeze flows on your face as the music he plays fills your ears. "So how's college goin'? You look at Tommy and look at your dad. He has a big stupid grin on his face and you shake your head as a 'please don't' to your dad so he doesn't mention your so called 'crush.'
"I think it's goin' really good, isn't that right sweetheart?" You roll your eyes and give him a dirty look. "Oh what's this now?" Tommy leans forward as he's more interested in the conversation. Joel stops playing and your face turns a shade of pink.
"Do you wanna tell them hon, or should I?" You cup your face in your hands and run your fingers through your hair. "Oh my god dad, it's not that big of a deal okay? He asked me on a date once! Once!"
Tommy's grin only widens and Joel just looks angry. "Right sweetheart, and what'd you say hm?" You roll your eyes. "I said yes okay?"
Joel can feel his heart pounding in his ears. You? Going on a date? That's a no go.
"Ohhhh!" Tommy throws his arms in the air and sits up straight. "Well? Did you get laid with'em?" "Tommy!" He laughs as you slap his shoulder and sigh loudly.
"Joel, you alright over there? Looked like you'd seen a ghost brother." You turn to see Joel and your eyes widen in surprise. He looks furious and scared at the same time. How is that possible? And what's he mad about?
He clears his throat and rests his guitar against a pillar. "Yeah, m'fine." He stands up and steps over your legs. He stares down at you and that's for sure a sign he's not okay. "M'gonna get a drink, anyone want anythin'?" Tommy shakes his head but your dad asks for a beer. "I'll get my own." You stand up and walk over to him.
His nostrils flare as he sees you pass by him and into the house. You walk into the kitchen and grab the kettle. Filling it with water, you put it back on the stand and flick the switch to start it. You reach up and onto your tip-toes to reach your mug but its just to high. You try jumping but its no use. Just as you're about to turn around and ask Joel for help, he reaches his arm above yours and grabs the mug.
You mumble a quick 'thanks' as you grab your tea bag. "What's his name?" You turn your head to face him. "Who?" He looks at you as he cracks open a can of beer. "The guy you're datin'." You roll your eyes and lean against the counter.
"For the last time, I'm not dating him. We went on a date once and-" "Did you have sex with him?" The question stumbles you. Who the hell asks that? You look at Joel dumbfounded and he just raises his eyebrows. You gulp as you beg the kettle to hurry up so this conversation can end.
"Well" You pause as he stares at you. "Yes but it was only one time-" "Thanks darlin', that's all I wanted to know." He gives you a smile as he leaves you standing in the kitchen all alone. You run your hand through your hair. Grabbing your mug, you pour the boiling hot water and take it outside.
You sit down on the lounge chair and try avoiding his glare. The men talk for a while as you sit and sip your tea, just listening. You do wish Joel would play his guitar again. Something about the way his fingers move and how he strums the shallow instrument makes you tingle.
Something about him, Joel. Makes your heart jump out of your skin. He's always had an impact on you. His voice, his hands, his hair, his strong body. Just everything about him is perfect.
You yawn as the conversation comes to an end. "Think it's time we should head out." Your dad stands up and cracks his back. He grabs Tommy's hand and pulls him in tight for a hug. You stand awkwardly with Joel. All of a sudden, two strong shoulders are spinning you around and you fall head first into a strong chest.
He wraps his arms around your small frame as you try to wrap your arms around his. It's unexpected so you're not exactly sure what to do. He rests his head on yours and you breathe in his scent.
"Don't be gettin into much trouble darlin', don't wanna end up with the wrong people ya'know." He lets go of your body and you look up at him as you nod your head. He gives you a little grin and pats the top of your head. "See ya kiddo." He walks out, grabbing his guitar, and shakes your dads hand.
You stand there for a few moments. Trying to regain composure as you try to wrap your head around what just happened. The fuck does he think he is?
You clear your head and begin to walk inside. Closing the sliding door, you kick your shoes off and head upstairs. You take off your shirt and bra changing into your over-sized shirt and some shorts. You lie in bed and close your eyes. Dreaming of Joel.
When you wake up to the morning sun shining into your room, you think back to the day before and cringe at all the awkwardness. You pull back the sheets and get out of bed. You put some socks on before opening your door and heading downstairs.
Your dad is in the kitchen making breakfast and his coffee already. "Morning dad." He looks up and smiles at you. "Morning sweetie, I gotta head out to work, Joel's gonna be around to fix up the bathroom since the showers not working, see ya later okay? Love you!" And with that, he grabs his work bag and shuts the door.
Shit. You completely forgot the shower wasn't working. Oh well.
You walk into the kitchen and grab a glass, filling it with water and gulping it down before heading back upstairs. You go into your room and change into some booty shorts and a sweater, you put your hair up and into a high ponytail. You smile at yourself and head downstairs.
Its almost noon by the time Joel arrives. He knocks on the door and you immediately jump up to answer it. "Hey!" You smile up at him sweetly and he takes a deep breath. Seeing you in your little cute outfit makes his jeans get a little tighter.
He clears his throat and smiles down at you. "Hey there darlin', your dad in?" You shake your head and leave the door open for him to follow you in. He watches the way your hips shake as you walk back into the living room with those little shorts on, leaving much to the imagination.
"Nope, he left a few hours ago, just me and you Joel." You smile slyly at him and he groans. How is he supposed to contain himself when you're just looking too goddamn good?
He heads upstairs and straight for the bathroom. He sets his bag down and inspects the shower. He opens his bag up and gets straight to work.
Its been about an hour since Joel has been here. You decide to make him a little sandwich and bring him a glass of water since he must be hungry and thirsty because of how hard he is working.
You carry the plate and the glass upstairs and into the bathroom. "Here Joel, I brought you some-" Your face immediately turns red as you see his shirt soaked with sweat and his face shining with it. You can see the muscles in his arms and his back. You gulp when he looks at you and grins.
"Well that's very thoughtful of ya sugar." He backs out of the shower and heads towards you. He takes the plate from your hands and his fingers just glaze yours. You take a deep breath in when you smell his sweat and that rough musky smell of him.
He takes a bite of the sandwich and sips a drink of water. "H-How is it?" You stutter as you stare at his veiny neck. Watching the way his jaw moves as he takes another bite, swallowing down the bread.
"Great! Thanks s'much sweetheart." You nod your head as you stare at his mouth. The way his lips bite into the soft bread and how they form themselves around the rip of the cup just perfectly makes you want to devour him.
Once he's done the sandwich, he leans in close to your face and looks into your eyes. "Ya know, ya shouldn't really be interested in an old man like me sugar." Your eyes widen at his statement.
He knows he shouldn't be flirting with you, let alone do what he's about to do, but how could he resist your sweet little self?
"I, uh, I'm not sure what you mean Joel?" He grins as he grabs onto your waist and pulls you into him. He leans in close to your ear and his soft whispers of air tickle your neck.
"I can practically smell how wet ya are f'me darlin'." He leans back and looks down at your starstruck face. "Joel, that's not true-" He snakes his rough hand down the outside of your shorts and cups your mound.
"Really darlin'? Cause it sure does feel like she's drippin'" You moan as his hand stays where it is. Putting the slightest little pressure on your swollen bud. "Joel, please." He chuckles at your begging state.
"Oh no honey, you were just sayin' ya didn't want me." He teases as he sneaks a finger into your shorts, moving your panties to the side and pressing his bare finger to your clit. Your hands perch onto his strong arms as he rubs your clit. "There she is, there ya go." He praises you as his finger slides through your slit and collects your seeping arousal.
"Lets remove these, shall we?" With his free hand, he tugs your shorts and panties down. Leaving you there with just your sweater. His eyes turn a shade of black when he sees your bare cunt.
He licks his lips as he kneels down. You lean your back against the door and brace yourself for what's about to come.
He presses his nose into your pussy and you moan aloud. He breathes in your sweet scent and groans. "So good darlin', s'good."
He grabs onto your thighs and pulls one over his shoulder. He smashes his mouth onto your pussy and you arch your back. He licks a stripe from your clit to your weeping seam and sticks his tongue inside.
"Oh god Joel." He smirks against your core as you moan and try to grab onto something. Your hands make their way into his hair as you tug and pull. He groans against you which only sends vibrations flowing throughout your whole body. Making the sensation even better.
He removes one of his hands from your thighs and reaches up to grab onto your breast. Tweaking and poking at the nipple. You whimper as you feel your orgasm nearing.
He can feel it too. The shake of your thighs, the pulse of your cunt, the way your moans seem to be higher in pitch, oh he knows. He carries his tongue back up to your clit and flicks it back and forth, side to side. "J-Joel!" You moan when your orgasm hits you.
Arching your back as far as it can go. Grabbing onto Joel's hair and pulling it so hard it hurts. He drinks up every bit of arousal from your soaking cunt. "Such a good girl."
He stands up and grabs onto your waist. He looks down at your hazy expression and chuckles. You side eye him and groan. You begin to fix your hair and walk out of the bathroom but Joel's hand grabs onto your arm.
"Where do ya think you're goin'? I ain't finished with ya yet." He picks you up and throws you over his shoulders. You kick your legs and smack his back. "Joel! Put me down right now!" He shrugs his shoulders. "Alrighty darlin'." He throws you on the bed and chuckles.
You lie on your back as you death stare him. He crawls over you and gives you a confused look. "What! You told me to put ya down darlin' so that's what I did." You roll your eyes and wrap your arms around his neck.
"You're pathetic." He chuckles and shakes his head. He slowly leans his head down and combines his lips with yours. You groan as you taste yourself on his lips.
His hand flows down your body, tracing every curve and dip in your small frame. His hand meets your pussy once more and he inserts a finger. You arch your back and moan aloud. "Now, about that 'guy'" Your face freezes in shock. Why is he mentioning him now of all times?
He adds a second finger and you can't help but whimper. "How did he fuck you?" He continues his movements and it just feels to good to answer. He would never compare to Joel. "Darlin', ya gonna answer or?" You shake your head as you bite your lip.
"Right." He removes his hands and sits up on the bed. He moves to the edge and pats his thigh. You sit up and rest your arms behind you. "What?" He pats his thigh again. You get up, confused, and walk over to him.
You stand in front of Joel and stare down at him. "Remove your shirt." You do as you're told and take off your shirt and bra. He pats his thigh again and you hover over it. "Sit."
You lower your pussy onto his strong thigh and sigh when they make contact. His rough hands grab onto your waist and starts to move you back and forth. You grind on his thigh as his hands help maneuver you. You moan at the feeling and wrap your arms around his neck.
"There ya go sugar." He praises you as he removes his hands and undoes his button on his jeans. "Now, how did he fuck you" That goddamn question again. Why?
"Uh." You're not quite sure what to say. It was only one night and those are hard to remember.
"Well?" You shallow your eyebrows as an orgasm starts to near. "We made out first, a-and then-" You arch your back as his fingers start to prod at your clit. "Hm?" He looks down at you with a questioning look.
"H-He just layed me down on my back and fucked me like that. That's it Joel." You try your best to sound stern but the feeling only increases. He smirks and kisses your nose. "Great."
You moan and arch your back as you soak his denim jeans below you. He smiles when you breathe deeply and look up at him. He picks you up once more and lays you down on the bed.
He removes his shirt and jeans and crawls over your body. He removes his cock from his boxers and your mouth instantly waters at the sight. He grins as he sees your face and lines himself up with your entrance.
"Ya ready?" You nod your head in desperation as he pushes in. You moan at the intrusion and bite your lip. You wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him thoroughly. He groans into your mouth as he feels your tight cunt adjusting to his size.
"So tight darlin.'" His lips hovering over yours as he begins to move his hips. His pelvis crushes your clit and you arch your back at the sensation.
He's not sure if he can last that long. Watching the way your back arches off the bed, your sweet little sounds you let out for him. He knew you didn't sound like this when you were with that other guy. He would never make you feel as good as Joel.
Feeling your tight little pussy pulse and squeeze his cock only made his orgasm unable to control. He tries to hold it but he's been on the edge for so long. Watching you come, making you come, that only turned him on more.
"Darlin'." He moans as you squeeze his cock once more. "I'm not gonna last long." You smirk at his submissive state and tug at his curls. His thrusts become sloppier and more messy as he thrusts in all the way. "Oh fuck baby-" He groans as he spills his hot seed into your weeping pussy.
He rests his head on your breasts as he regains himself. "M'sorry sweetheart." You look into his eyes with admiration as you admire his cute little state. You run your fingers through his hair and shush him.
He begins to get out of bed and head for the bathroom that he was fixing. He returns with a wash towel and some shorts for you. You thank him and give him a kiss on the lips as he begins to get dressed.
You throw the wash cloth in the hamper and put your shorts and sweater back on.
You stand up and scratch the back of your head. "So, maybe you should get going soon. I can just tell my dad you didn't finish it and you can fix it some other time?"
He stands up and puts his shirt on. He smirks as he sees what your trying to say. "Sure darlin', i'll come back and 'fix' your bathroom."
You roll your eyes and walk out of your room. Joel grabs his bag and tools from the bathroom and throws it over his shoulder. You walk him to the door and he walks out.
"I'll be back, don't be too desperate f'me now, I know you'll miss me. Oh and this." He points down to his jeans and your face turns pink. He's somehow hard again and you can't help but drool.
His thumb wipes your saliva from your mouth and gives you a smirk as he heads to his truck.
You close the door and lean against the back of it.
What have I just done?

Dress Code - S.R
Tumblr media
a/n: got a little carried away with this one, but ugh just imagining spencer reid coming to my defense has me down BAD
masterlist
‧₊˚ ✩°。⋆♡ ⋆˙⟡♡ ⋆˙⟡♡⋆。°✩˚₊‧
pairings: spencer reid x bimbo!receptionist!reader
summary: in which spencer reid doesn't appreciate an agent questioning the length of your skirt
warnings: fluff, a rando flirting/being rude with the reader, mini skirts 4 life, definitely not appropriate for work but spencer doesn't give a FUCK
wc: 1.5k
"Interesting choice of attire for the FBI," the man's voice commented as you paused in the midst of penciling in his meeting with Chief Cruz. "Isn't that skirt a bit... short?"
The man was tall, though not quite as tall as Dr. Reid. His hair, a dark shade that caught the light as he moved (more so because of the liberal amount of gel in it), was neatly trimmed, but it lacked the effortless charm of Spencer's curls.
You had unwittingly set a standard, with Dr. Reid as the benchmark. You tried to go on dates, to distract yourself from the boy genius, but those dates turned into a mentally tally--he's not as smart as Spencer, not as kind, not as attractive.
Maintaining an unshakeable smile, you stood up from your work area. "You think? I just love how it twirls when I spin!"
You demonstrated--the pleated hem of your pink tweed skirt billowing out around you. You wobbled on your heels, a giggle escaping you as you used the desk to steady yourself. Spencer's gaze followed your every move as you tucked a couple stray curls behind your ears.
Spencer intended to maintain a respectful distance, to grant you some space, but he found himself consistently drawn towards you, as if pulled by gravity itself. You were irresistibly captivating, and it wasn't lost on him that this allure undoubtedly affected others just as much.
His gaze sharpened into a glare, almost tangible in its intensity, directed at the man who hovered too close in your personal space, eyes trailing where they shouldn't as the fabric of your skirt fluttered with your movements.
The agent let out a soft laugh, inching forward to prop his elbows on the desk's edge, his eyes subtly scanning your legs. "I'd wager it becomes quite the tactical distraction during interrogations."
"Oh, I don't go into the interrogation rooms, silly!" you laugh, a melodic ripple in the air, as you ease back down into your chair.
You cross your legs, one over the other, the action accentuating the graceful lines of your figure, skirt settling into place with a soft rustle.
The man's smirk broadened, his eyebrow lifting in a choreographed motion. "You don't say?"
Your smile is radiant, blissfully unaware of the sarcasm in his voice. You tilt your head, a soft gesture as you rearrange a vase brimming with colorful flowers on your desk--a thank-you from Garcia for the cupcakes you gifted her with last week.
"Yep! I'm the first face people see here, and I want to make sure it's a good one!"
He nodded slowly, a sly grin spreading across his features. "The first face, huh? I suppose with a view like that, it's hard for anyone to get past the front desk. But isn't it a bit distracting for the agents?"
"I believe it's all about focus. And our team has an exceptional ability to focus, no matter the environment."
It was a welcome surprise to watch Dr. Reid make his way toward you, his walk a familiar lanky stride that somehow managed to be both awkward and graceful. You like his tie today, still crooked, but charming, and it was decorated with blue stripes that trailed up the side. Despite the sharp lines of his suit, there was something so undeniably soft about him.
"Dr. Reid, I..."
Spencer didn't let him finish his thought. "And speaking of work, I believe Chief Cruz is waiting on you for those files. Best not to make him wait."
You weren't speaking of work, but the agent was quick to excuse himself, nonetheless.
"He seems nice, doesn't he?"
Spencer's lips twitched, on the verge of breaking your idealistic bubble, but he stopped short, arrested by the sincerity shining in your eyes. The idea of spoiling your untainted perspective felt almost sacrilegious, not when your smile was so genuinely sugary it nearly could've brought him to his knees right then and there.
"Yeah," he conceded, his eyes trailing over your complacent face. "Nice."
You looked down at your skirt, plucking at a thread that had come undone. "You don't think it's too short, do you?"
You stood, ensuring he had a complete view, your palms delicately pressing the fabric down. Spencer's eyes opened a shade wider, the unexpected display catching him off guard. The skirt's length--or lack thereof--left little to the imagination, your thighs on full display, but he'd keep that thought to himself, and with any influence he had, everyone else would as well.
"No, it's fine, you look lovely."
"Lovely?" your eyes basically shimmered in this light, your chin gently resting in the curve of your palm as you fixed him with an intent stare. "That's high praise."
"Deservedly so."
"Dr. Reid, I'm blushing."
And you were, pink radiating across your neck and cheeks, but he was sure a similar rosy shade was coloring the tips of his ears.
You rose from your chair, circling the desk to position yourself directly in front of him, close enough for him to detect the light scent of Dubble Bubble on your breath. He, almost instinctively, found himself leaning in your direction.
"I just love how it feels," you noted, hand brushing against the cloth. "It's so soft, see?"
You extended the hem of your skirt towards him. Spencer's hand hesitated, then tentatively touched the fabric, clearing his throat in the process. He was even closer now, the scent of your perfume--what he thought was a mix of roses and a hint of citrus--engulfed him. The skirt was soft like you had said, but it was the warmth radiating from your skin that sent a jolt through him.
His knuckles grazed against your thigh, whether intentional or not he really wasn't sure. His usual clarity wasn't up to par, not with you standing so close, looking so nice. The world seemed to spin when he was around you.
You let out a giggle, a soft and effervescent sound that seemed to steal the air from his lungs. "Do you see what I mean? It's like wearing a cloud."
His hand snapped back as if touched by fire, his face awash with a flustered glow. "Yes, it's...very soft," he managed, raking his fingers through his hair, his gaze darting to any point but your legs, the memory of its softness scattering his concentration.
You offered a beaming smile, naively unaware to the sheer havoc you wreaked on his senses. He needed to get back to work to prevent any rash decisions--like taking your face in his hands and pressing his lips to yours right there, an act that would certainly mar his professional record. He also wasn't sure you'd appreciate that.
As though you had plucked the thoughts straight from his mind, your fingertips brushed softly over his chest. "Goodness, I've been rambling on, haven't I? You probably have, like, super important stuff to do."
Your touch seemed to still the air between you, Spencer's breath hitching, momentarily losing his train of thought. "Oh, uh... well, no, it's actually kind of a slow day for me right now."
Your hand, moving from his chest to rest on his arm, offered a tender squeeze. "Oh, that's good, isn't it? You guys are always super busy, it's about time the universe gave you a break, huh?"
Just as Spencer opened his mouth to reply, you bit your lip, cheeks flushed with a sudden realization. "Oh no, I totally just jinxed it, didn't I?"
You quickly rapped your knuckles against the desk.
Spencer cocked his head to the side, a bemused chuckle escaping him. "What?"
Your words bubbled over with delight, closing the gap between you and Spencer until you were almost chest to chest. "Look at this, I'm the one who is teaching you something for once!" Your smile was wide and uncontainable. "So, knocking on wood--it's supposed to ward off bad luck or reverse a jinx, just like I might have done."
A myriad of scientific retorts teetered on the tip of his tongue, each one ready to debunk the notion of luck and its superstitious rituals. But those thoughts dissolved in the glow of your smile, as radiant and illuminating as an 1800-watt lightbulb.
"Really? That's fascinating," he mused, his smile soft. "I'll have to remember that."
"Right? Oh, and don't get me started on finding a four-leaf clover. I swear it's lucky. I found one once, and I had the best day ever."
To him, it seemed like you didn't have anything other than good days, despite the statistical improbability.
"I don't doubt it," Spencer replied with a knowing smile. Noticing the same agent coming out of the hallway, he excused himself. "Well, I'm going to get back. I'll, uh, see you later?"
"You know where to find me," you said.
As you spun to retreat to your desk, he offered a last, discreet glance at your skirt, more specifically the shape of your ass in it, before following after the agent.
"Walk with me, yeah?" Spencer suggested, his tone leaving no room for argument. It was out of character for him, but the way his jaw tightened suggested he didn't care. Once the distance granted privacy from your ears, he stated plainly. "Her attire is not up for discussion. If there's a concern, I'm the one you talk to."
The remainder of his day passed just as slow, and in the back of his mind, he entertained the thought that he had your knock-on wood to thank for that.

He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes; slowly waking up. Then Loki's gaze drifted to his luckily still sleeping wife. He smiled and tried to untangle himself as carefully as possible from your embrace - what actually was more difficult than it looked; almost holding the god in a death grip in your slumber.
Loki got woken up from his deep slumber, as he heard soft noises and cries coming from the baby monitor, which stood on his bedside table.
Of course put it the god there on purpose... To give you some well deserved sleep and rest.
In the end, Loki made it and slowly got out of bed; turning off the baby monitor on his way.
The noises and cries of his son had gotten audibly louder, so he quickly tiptoed out of the bedroom; closing the door behind himself.
Narfi's wailing increased even more. He could hear it. "Daddy's coming, little prince, " he whispered underneath his breath.
Once Loki entered the nursery, he made a beeline to his crib, of course, lifting the crying infant immediately up into his arms, "Oh my sweet boy..." and pressing a soft kiss on his black fuzz covered head.
"Daddy's here. I got you." He gently rocked Narfi and switched on the light; dimming it, so that he could carry him around the room.
His little snub nose was scrunched up; cheeks reddened from all the crying. Thick tears were running down his azure skin and dripping on his beige teddy bear onesie.
Loki tried to calm Narfi down and of course to find out the reason why he was crying. After checking and testing every possibility, he soon found out that he must be hungry.
Loki shifted the tiny boy, so that his head rested on his shoulder for support and stroked gently over his back in an attempt to reassure him further, while making his way to the kitchen. "Let's get you something to eat then, little prince."
Arrived at his destination, Loki grabbed a prepared bottle from the fridge and heated it up a bit, while still bouncing his baby son on his arm; kissing his small head repeatedly to give him the feeling of love and safety.
After a few minutes, Narfi's tiny hands flapped through the air; covering Loki's on the bottle. Seemingly, he was trying to hold the bottle on his own, causing the god to giggle softly. "Little prince, you can't hold the bottle alone yet. I know that you're a strong boy, but you're not that strong yet, trust me." He smiled down on him and took one of his hands in his bigger one; giving him his pointer finger to hold onto instead. "Here, you can hold on to daddy's finger, baby boy." The baby didn't let himself tell that twice, of course and grasped his father's digit tightly.
Once the milk had the perfect temperature, the god decided to go to the living room and sit down with him on the sofa.
"There we go, sweet boy." He bedded Narfi on his left arm and fed him the bottle with his right; gently pressing the soft silicone tip against his tiny lips. He was definitely hungry and started to suckle right away.
Tumblr media
The prince watched over Narfi while he drank with so much adoration; his eyes unable to leave him.
He loved his son so so much, it hurt. This little human being was his everything. He, you and of course his princess.
When Narfi's tummy was full and his hunger satisfied, Loki went to the kitchen, cleaned up the bottle and returned with the drowsy baby on his arm to the living room. After all, he still had to burp him - but the task was done within a few minutes.
Instead of brining Narfi back to bed and tucking his son in, Loki laid him down on the sofa; a big, soft pillow underneath him. The god joined him then; laid on his stomach and propped himself up above Narfi with his forearms placed on each side of his small body.
The little boy smiled up at him with wide ruby eyes; clearly happy to see the face of his father. "You happy to see me, little prince?" A tiny finger vanished in his mouth as his eyes thoroughly look over Loki's face - who wore the biggest smile on his lips. Well, he always did when he looked at his children.
He repeated his actions a few times, before he took his small hand in his bigger one and went back to just admiring his son; taking in every detail. Loki wanted to carve everything his eyes saw in his mind. How his sweet, short, black fuzz curled itself on his head. How his long black whimpers framed his stunning ruby eyes. The little snub nose and his small, azure lips. He didn't care that it was in the middle of the night. He just wanted to have this moment with Narfi. With his son.
The god couldn't help himself but to take one of his small feet in his hand when he pulled his knees up to his belly; thumb tracing the even smaller toes.
Narfi lifted his other hand - the one which wasn't stuck in his mouth, up, and it landed, of course, on Loki's mouth; missing his eye by an hairsbreadth. The god chuckled and kissed his tiny palm, before blowing a raspberry against the soft skin; making him squeak and smile.
Loki smiled once more. His... He was his. The little boy that you gave him. Another, wonderful product of the pure, deep love you shared.
"What did I do to deserve such another wonderful gift? What did I do to deserve you, huh? My sweet, sweet baby boy." Narfi answered with a cute little noise and a huge smile. Another soft laugh left Loki's lips and the god played along his baby talk. "Oh yes? You think?" He squeaked and kicked his feet against his hand. "Smart, prince. And do you know how much I actually love you, little man?" Narfi's big eyes stared still into Loki's. With a smile, he dipped his head to pepper his face with small, gentle kisses. "I," kiss "Love," kiss "You," kiss "More," kiss "Than," kiss "Words," kiss "Can," kiss "Tell," kiss "I tried, Narfi. Believe me. But there are no words. Your big sister knows. In no language ever spoken on this realm, nor any other realm..." Loki looked down on his beautiful son; still admiring him, as he noticed how his eyelids grew heavier and heavier with each passing minute.
So he stood up again and lifted him in his arms; cradling him close against his chest, while swaying him gently from side to side .
"My prince..." Loki continued his speech from before. "I love you, sweet boy - with every beat of my heart and every breath I take. I love you more than the stars in the sky and all the nine realms together. I will love you forever, until the end of time and the collision of the universes. My love for you is unconditional and eternal. I promise you, that I will always be at your side. No matter what you do or where the path of life leads you. I will always be there, as long as I live." The god gently caressed his tiny cheek with the pad of his thumb; feeling his soft skin underneath his fingertip.
"I swear, that I will always protect you. If necessary, with my life. Yours and the ones of your mother and sister. I won't let anything ever happen to my family. Never."
Narfi had meanwhile loosened his grip on Loki's finger. His eyes had closed shut; breathing slow and even.
He smiled, stood up and carried him back to the nursery. Before he laid the infant down, he placed a soft kiss on his head.
"I love you," Loki mumbled against his fuzz and laid him carefully inside the crib.
Tumblr media
With a last loving look on his son, he took the baby monitor and left the room again; switching off all the lights on the way and tiptoed back into the bedroom. To his sheer delight were you still sleeping peacefully. The god was very glad about it; happy to be able to help.
He smiled and switched on the baby monitor again, before he slipped back under the sheets and cuddled up to you; pulling you back against his chest.

Sweetness #5

Summary: This is a continuation of Sweetness #4, Sohee's been avoiding you–much to your dismay. You're going to have to corner him if you want to keep your plan on track...

Your dreams were almost a review of the last few days. Sungchan, Anton, Seunghan, Eunseok, and now Shotaro. A collection of memories, each full of pleasure made you sweat under the covers. The whole thing seemed silly at this point. Fucking your friends to get back at them for trying to take advantage of you. Was anyone really being punished? Or were you actually just wanting to have fun with each of them? So what if you enjoyed having sex with them? It's not like things would be different... right?
You tossed and turned as doubt stacked in your mind. Were you really making the right call by going overboard in your plan? It was just supposed to be an act to catch them, but you still ended up having sex by the end of it. With Shotaro, you didn't even bother keeping up the act for long...
If you stopped now, what would they think? What if Sohee thought you hated him? You can't stop now. You have to see it through to the end.
In the morning, your thighs were still sore from your early morning visit to the bathroom with Shotaro so you took your time before getting out of bed. It was 11 AM when you came out of your room, the others were whispering with each other which stopped when you walked in.
"Good morning, y/n... How are you feeling?" Anton asked.
You rubbed the back of your neck. "I'm okay, I think the pain in my back and neck is almost gone. I must've slept weird and it messed me up pretty badly."
The others exchanged looks with each other, all having some sort of understanding in their eyes. They were probably talking about if they'd tell you–maybe then you'd come clean.
"We're glad you're doing a bit better. Sungchan's finishing breakfast any minute now, so come sit." Seunghan told you as he pulled out a chair.
"Aww, I wanted y/n to sit next to me!" Shotaro complained.
"He sat with you last time," Eunseok said, seated on the other side of your empty chair. Sitting between them reminded you of being sandwiched between them in bed. You shook your head, tossing the thought aside, as you fixed your pants so your bulge wouldn't show. You only thought about it for a split-second but you were already getting hard from remembering it.
"I'll sit next to Sohee and Wonbin," You said as you moved toward the two.
"Shotaro, you can have my seat since you want to sit with y/n," Sohee muttered. Shotaro was happy to take Sohee's seat if he could sit by you. You noted Sohee's distance from you but knew you couldn't bring it up now. It would only make noise where you didn't need it.
Sungchan served breakfast, slightly burned sausages with waffles and juice. Everyone ate quietly, the sound from the nearby TV kept the room from completely silent. The news said that the snowstorm was ending, and the ice should begin to melt tonight, meaning you could go home tomorrow. You were running out of time... You eyed Sohee as he ate, he tried to avoid your gaze but you knew he could see you looking at him. As soon as he finished his plate, you stood and scooped it off the table.
"I'll take this for you, Sohee," You said warmly, smiling at him.
He nodded, trying not to look at your face. "Thank you," He muttered before getting up and moving to the couch in the living room to be closer to the TV. You put the dishes in the sink, which Anton was responsible for cleaning according to the others, and made your way to sit on the couch. You were a comfortable distance from Sohee, but you noticed he shifted away from you as you sat down. Only a few minutes before he got up and walked into the bathroom. Wonbin took his place on the couch, raising an eyebrow at you.
"Why are you following Sohee so closely?"
"I'm not–"
"You watched him like a cat on a rat. I'm sure he felt it."
You sighed. "Does Sohee have an issue with me? He's not normally so distant... Did I do something?"
Wonbin chuckled before leaning in to whisper, "You mean other than fuck his bandmates?"
You hit his shoulder. "Shut up! He only knows about Sungchan and Anton."
"And we all know about Shotaro."
Your eyes rang. "Huh, how'd you know about that?"
"Do you think we're all deaf? No one moans that loud in the bathroom with seven other people in the house unless someone is helping them." Wonbin smirked at you and poked you with his elbow. "And, Shotaro came clean before you woke up. The guilt of breaking the promise ate him up, I suppose."
"Thanks for the heads up."
"Are you planning on going after Sohee next? Or me? We're the last two you haven't seduced." Wonbin's light-hearted smirk shifted sharply with an analyzing glare. "I don't know that game you're playing, but I think I'm starting to figure you out."
"Wonnie, I don't have a game anymore... It was funny at first, but things just spiraled. I don't know if I can keep it up anymore." You sighed heavier as you leaned your head on Wonbin's shoulder.
He pulled you closer, shifting so you could lay your body on his. "I don't think Sohee hates you or anything. I think he's nervous for his turn with you."
"Why would he be nervous–it's not like I want to hurt him."
Wonbin looked around, checking to see the bathroom door still shut. "Don't tell him I told you. Sohee's still a virgin, he's nervous about his first time–not just because it's you, but he's never been with someone else."
You buried your head in Wonbin's chest. "How can I do it now!? I can't do that to him... His first time should be with someone he cares about, something special. Not something I trick him into..."
"Well, you can't really back out. He's expecting you to approach him now. He told all of us after Shotaro spilled the news."
"How can I approach him? The cover is that he has to make me. He's too sweet to do that."
Wonbin shrugged. "That's not really my problem. You're the one he's nervous about. So, find a way to make him comfortable or something." He rubbed your head softly. "Or, you can skip him–probably break his kind heart, and fuck me."
You turned over to look at him. "I didn't think you'd be so excited to have sex with me."
"I feel like I'm owed for keeping all this a secret, plus helping you with Sohee. And it's only right I get a turn if everyone else does. I deserve you most, don't you think?" Wonbin's playful smirk came back. He loved to tease you, pulling you by your waist to make you blush; moaning in your ear, making you brush his hair, even grabbing your ass when he passed. If anyone in Riize felt like your boyfriend, it was him. Maybe that's why you were always so open with him.
"Well, regardless if you think you deserve me, I'm getting Sohee first. I'd cry if I made him sad..." You heard the bathroom door open. "I've gotta go, keep the others busy?"
"We already promised Sohee we'd stay out of his way."
"Since when did you guys have so many secret conversations without me?"
Wonbin pushed you off him, urging you toward Sohee's room. "Since you started fucking us. Now, go get him."
You awkwardly walked toward Sohee's bedroom, looking back into the living room. The others were watching you as you walked away. They were waiting for you to leap on Sohee... All of them knew you were faking the hypnosis now, so it made sense they'd be cautious of you, but your skin burned under their watch.
Sohee's door was closed. You knocked on it, breathing in sharply. "Sohee? Can we chat for a minute?"
"Y-Y/n!? Um–Give me a second!" Sohee replied nervously as you heard things being thrown around the room. You waited patiently at the door, still looking over your shoulder every few seconds to see if any members were trying to watch from around the corner. No one was there. After a minute passed, Sohee's door opened slowly. The room was dimly lit, with the curtains swallowing all the sunlight from the window. "Come in, please," Sohee's smile was a cover to hide his nervousness. You entered the room and Sohee closed the door behind you, the lock faintly clicking. He sat on one end of his bed while you sat on the other. "So... what did you want to talk about?"
The light in the room shined in his eyes as he looked at you, his face focused and careful.
"I wanted to talk about... you."
"Me?"
You tried to think of something clever, but with him looking at you so close you couldn't. "Wonbin told me that you wanted to speak to me about something, but you were feeling really nervous about it. I want you to know you can tell me anything. Anything."
Sohee swallowed hard. "I do have something... a confession really." He shifted closer toward you until your knees were touching. "We've been keeping a secret from you, and I don't think I can keep it any longer." He got closer, placing his hand on your thigh. "The others have been having sex with you while you've been hypnotized. Then we all lied about it to you and I feel horrible..."
You cracked a smile. "Sohee. I've got a secret too... I'm not hypnotized anymore. I've been aware of everyone's intention to take advantage of me from the beginning and made a plan to get back at everyone."
Sohee's shoulders slumped as their burden was relieved. "So, you knew? And let me think I was holding such a big secret."
"One by one, the others found out after I told them. They've been keeping the secret for me so I can punish you all."
"That means I'm next, right?" Sohee's eyes shimmered expectantly.
"I–I don't know. I thought it was a punishment, but now it feels like I'm taking advantage of you guys in return. I don't know what they told you, but Wonbin told me... That you haven't been with someone... Sexually."
Sohee's ears turned pink. "Y-Yeah, I haven't had sex before. But if it's with you, I'm okay with that."
"You should have sex with people you want to have it with. Not some trick, Sohee. What I did was a bad thing."
"Well, you're not tricking me right now! We're both being honest, consenting adults. So we can still do it, right?"
"Sohee–" You were cut off by Sohee planting a kiss on your lips, his eyes closed as his hands tightened their grip on the fabric of your pants. His breath was cool and tasted like he'd eaten a handful of mints. His lips were soft and gentle, but also stiff and unmoving. He really wanted you, more than he could put into words. You placed his hand on your neck, showing him how to hold you. Sohee's moans emerged immediately as you deepened the kiss, pushing past his lips. His body tensed, so you massaged his shoulders until he could relax. He moaned into the kiss, opening his mouth more as you sucked on his tongue.
You pulled away from this kiss after a few moments. "Now you try."
Letting Sohee lead, you pulled you in for another kiss. He confidently pushed past your lips, sucking on your tongue as you offered it to him. You moaned into it, which made his brain glitch as he pulled away.
"Sorry! I–"
"That was a good sound. You want me to do that, and I want to hear you too, Sohee."
"C-Can I ask for something?" You looked at him, it was taking all his courage to ask. You nodded, allowing him to speak. "Can you call me something else? Sohee is my name, but I want something special."
"Something like, Baby?" You watched Sohee deflate a little. He must not like that one. "Or Love?"
"Love sounds amazing," He said breathlessly.
"For you, Love. I'll call you whatever you like." You climbed onto him, straddling him, his hands were stuck to the bed while he watched you. "It's okay, you can touch me." You slide your shirt over your head, tossing it aside. You pulled on his shirt. "Can we lose this?" Sohee raised his arms as you pulled it over his head. You let your hands slide over his torso, leaning forward and encouraging him to do the same to you. He was awkward, but his hands eventually found their favorite place on your waist. "Ready for the next part?"
He nodded.
"Words, Love."
"I'm ready, Sweetness." Sohee smiled at you.
You tried to keep face, but your heart skipped a few beats as his name for you. "You know that doesn't work anymore, right?"
"Sorry, I think it fits you. I hope it doesn't bother you."
You got off the bed and slowly stripped your pants off, watching Sohee's face. He didn't know where to look, trying not to look at your bugle but also not wanting to look at your face. "You can look at me. We're both getting undressed, remember?"
Sohee nodded. "That's why it's dark... I'm a little shy."
You wanted to bite him for being so cute. He was so self-conscious that he'd rather have his first time in the dark so he doesn't have to acknowledge his own body... You knew this had to be perfect for him. You tossed your underwear aside, standing naked in front of Sohee. He was in awe–he wasn't moving, just watching you... Which was starting to get embarrassing.
"You should get undressed too, I don't want to stand here alone..." Sohee scrambled to his feet, trying to get out of his pants. "Wait–be slow about it." You got close to him, getting on your knees. "Like this," You whisper as you slowly slide his pants down his legs, helping him step out of them. You were about to slide off his underwear before you looked up at him. "We can stop at any time, Sohee. Just say something."
"I understand. Let's keep going."
You nodded as you slid his underwear, letting his hard cock point up at you. It was probably the shortest of all the members but it was thick. It was hard and red, and his tip was swollen and throbbing. It was begging for you to touch it, leaking precum in a steady stream. You took it in hand. "That so thick, Love. I think I might have trouble putting it in my mouth..."
"S-Sorry," Sohee moaned as he leaned against the bed for stability.
"It's nothing to be sorry about, it's beautiful. Cute, just like you." You kissed his tip, earning a loud moan from him. His ears turned red as he covered his mouth.
"S-Sorry..."
"Love, if you apologize every time I do something, this will be hard for you..."
"Right. So–I mean, okay."
"Sit if you're not comfortable." Sohee listened obediently, sitting on the bed with his legs spread as he watched you. You focused on his cock again, it throbbed in your hands and radiated heat. His balls were heavy and thick. Did he not ever jerk off? You moved your hands slowly, up and down as you felt around for his sensitive spots. Sohee's knees shook as he moaned into his hand. You could tell he couldn't last as long as the others, from the way his moans were so breathless–he was in bliss. "Want more?"
"So bad, please." Sohee's eyes closed as his head fell back.
"Call me that name again."
Sohee looked at you. "Sweetness?"
"Now, tell me what you want." You smiled, assuring it was okay.
"Please... Put it in your mouth, Sweetness..." Sohee mumbled, embarrassed of the words leaving his lips.
You smiled. "Of course, Love. Anything for you." You opened wide as you put his tip in your mouth. You were right. It’ll be tough to hold it all in your mouth but for him, you'd do it. Sohee's moans went high-pitched, sounding rapidly as you bobbed your head on him. His knee couldn't' stop bouncing, his hips gently bucked, and his hands found your head. To your surprise, Sohee massaged your ears gently as you sucked him off. No one had ever touched your ears, but it was even more of a turn-on. You had to close your eyes and take a breath before pushing deep. His cock stretched your throat as it pulsed.
"Oh! Woah, Y/n, I–I'm gonna–" Sohee tried to put the words together, but it was too late. He came down your throat with a loud moan, his body twitching as his fingers massaged you faster. He was trying not to hurt you, but as you sucked him through his climax you felt his hips lift slightly–forcing you to take more.
You slowly pulled off his cock, swallowing anything left in your mouth before finally breathing again. It was hot–Sohee's cum, you could feel it making its way down your throat. Warning your insides.
"I didn't mean to," Sohee paused to breathe. "I didn't mean to cum so soon. We didn't even go that far..."
You chuckled. "Did you want more?"
Sohee nodded.
"What a greedy one, aren't you, Love?" You pushed Sohee on his back as you straddled his hips.
"I'm sorry for being greedy... But I want to be inside you, so bad, y/n."
You looked at Sohee under you, he was a mess. His lips parted, shaking whimpers falling from them, and his cock twitched–ready for more. "I want you in me too," You whispered as you lifted your hips, lining his cock with your hole. Slowly, you sank down onto Sohee's dick, earning whines and moans from the other. You felt him pushing inside you, his thickness stretched you more as each inch passed deeper into you. Once you had him inside you completely, he took a few moments, breathing heavily as you adjusted to his size. Sohee was shaking from overstimulation, and his eyes rolled back. "Are you still with me, Love?"
Your voice snapped Sohee back. "Y-Yes! I'm h-here, I'll be here till you're satisfied. Please–use me how you like..." Sohee could barely get through his sentences, moaning every other word as he felt your walls tighten around him. Sohee was in another world. He couldn't have imagined how you'd feel around him, but it was so warm and every twitch made him want to bust.
"Sohee," You moaned his name, in a tone that gnawed at the rope of sanity that Sohee was trying to hold onto. "You're so big... I need your help." Placing his hands on your hips, Sohee gripped you tightly as you started listing yourself. Once high enough, you'd sink back down and stuff yourself full of cock again. Sohee's eyes watered as a few tears streaked down his face, his voice was hoarse from the nonstop moaning. You drank up every second of it as you enjoyed riding him. You went faster and harder, making Sohee's moans louder and higher–borderline screaming.
"I–" Sohee had to swallow hard, "I'm gonna fucking cum!" Sohee usually tried not to swear, there was never a reason to do it. But your fucking him was more than enough to make him let loose every sweat he knew. "Fucking, shit! You're so tight, I can't stop, fuck! You feel so good..."
You grind your hips into him, pushing his cock deeper. "Cum for me, Love. All inside me!"
That was enough to push him over the edge. His hips found new strength as he pushed up, lifting you slightly and holding you there. His cock plunged deeper than before as he came for the second time, his moan on his lips was your name as he shot into you. "Fuck! Fuck! Fu–I'm sorry... I'm sorry, y/n... I can't do it anymore," Sohee hiccuped as his eyes streamed with tears. His convulsions were intense, making his cock shift inside you which made his convulse again. He was stuck in a shaking cycle until you kissed him, stroking his cheek as you calmed him down.
"You did so good, Sohee. I'm so proud," You cooed in his ear.
Sohee twitched, softer now. "T-Thank you... I'm sorry–I couldn't make you cum..." Even after having sensory overload from two intense orgasms, he still cared about you. How sweet.
You gently lifted yourself off him, trying not to make it worse for him. But Sohee stopped you. "Fuck!" Sohee's grip on your hips tightened and he slammed you back down onto him. Maybe it was luck, but he hit your spot–dead center. You came all over Sohee's chest, cum even shooting onto his face. Your head rolled back as your orgasm ripped through you, your walls tightening which made Sohee whine again. "I'm sorry! Sorry–Please don't leave. It's so sensitive, can we just... lay here? For a little?"
You nodded, your jaw too tight to speak. You laid on his chest as you stroked his hair, letting him drift to sleep... Once it was clear you could move, you climbed off of him–even while sleeping Sohee didn't want to let you go. You found your clothes, tucked Sohee into his bed, and opened the door to leave his room.
Wonbin was waiting for you at the door. "You done?"
You nodded.
"Good. Come out here," Wonbin ordered as he grabbed your wrist, dragging you with him.

“Get your ass to bed before I throw you off my ship."
You fumble for the doorknob at your back, and the door swings open behind you, almost causing you to trip backward inside. Joel follows you into the room a few seconds later, leaving Todd out in the hall. You think it's probably for the best because Joel looks like he really might throw Todd over the side of the ship.
Joel locks the door behind him. You make your way to the bed and sit down, trying to catch your breath. You feel safer with Joel here. He comes over to you and places his hands on each side of your face looking into your eyes. Worry swims in his, and you nearly pull his mouth to yours.
“Did he hurt you? You have to tell me if he hurt you."
“I'm fine, really. I'm just a little shaken up, but I’ll be okay."
He continues to hold your face in his hands as if he's inspecting it to reassure himself that you're not hurt. You have to keep your eyes focused on him so they don't drift down to his perfect lips. Joel leans in closer, and you close your eyes, waiting -
Cool air hits your cheeks, replacing the warmth where Joel's hands had been. Your eyes burst open, and Joel's back is to you as he makes his way to the sofa. Heat burns through your entire body, and you wish Joel  hadn't pulled away.
“I need you to tell me the truth."
“What do you mean?" You ask, still breathless.
“I saw your face when that piece of cheesecake with the engagement ring was set in front of you. You weren't surprised; you looked almost heartbroken. Then at dinner tonight, Todd said something that made it sound like he’s known you for a lot longer than just this week. Then, I came up here to check on you, and he has you cornered."
“Joel, he was just drunk. I don't think he knew what he was doing," you say, looking down at your feet.
“Is he the reason you wanted to leave?" Joel asks bluntly. You can't  understand his anger. Is it possible that he's jealous of Todd?
“Not him specifically," you say, quickly bending the truth. “A lot of the group makes me feel like I don't belong. I don't come from money like the rest of them, and it's very obvious to me that I don't fit in with them."
In all actuality, you do feel like the odd one out a lot of the time. You imagine it feels similar to following an older sibling and their friends around. No one really wants you to come, but they put up with you so they won't get in trouble. It is, however, still a lie about the reason you wanted to leave.
Joel looks at you with a hint of sympathy in his eyes. “I didn't know you felt that way."
“I don't feel that way when I'm with you. Sometimes it feels like you’re the only one who wants me on this ship." You make your way across the room to sit on the sofa opposite him.
“I do want you here," Joel says softly.
You think back to the maid, Charlotte, talking about how Marnie had run off all of the women that ever got serious with Joel. You realise that he isn’t the playboy Sarah always makes him out to be. It isn't his intention that none of the women he's ever dated have not stayed around for long.
“I came up here to make sure you were feeling alright."
“I’m feeling a lot better," you say, feeling guilty about getting out of dinner with an excuse of being seasick. It felt like the best option, though, since you were apparently a topic of conversation at dinner. You wonder what Todd said about you to Joel but know it's best not to ask, or he’ll start asking questions you don't want to answer.
“Did you get anything to eat?"
“No, I didn't want to bug anyone."
You think back to the few handfuls of popcorn you ate while playing cards. You could definitely use something more substantial. Joel stands and walks to the intercom on the wall of your room.
“Can you please send some dinner up and a whiskey for me?"
“Is there anything else I can get you, sir?" Brenna says as she sets down the tray on the coffee table between Joel and you. She turns and winks at you, and you try your best to hide a smile.
“No, that's everything. Thank you, Brenna; I know it's late."
“I was up anyway, sir, and the night chef was in the kitchen making preparations for tomorrow, so it was really no trouble." Brenna turns and walks out the door, clicking it closed behind her.
“I like that you call all of your staff by name," you say, impressed that he cares so much about his staff despite his wealth.
“One of the few valuable things I learned from my father was to respect the people who work for you. Without them, I wouldn't be able to do the work that I do or enjoy my limited free time. My father always made it a point to call each employee by their name. In that way alone, I followed in his footsteps."
Joel takes the cover off of your plate for you. It's a bowl of chicken pesto pasta and a side of garlic bread. The smell of the garlic hits your nose instantly, and you can feel your stomach urging you to grab the plate.
“Your father sounds like he was a very harsh man?" You ask, hoping you're not overstepping. You grab the bowl of pasta off the tray and take a bite. The cheese melts in your mouth perfectly, complemented by the pesto.
“He was very harsh, and strict. He had high expectations for me, and he made it known when I disappointed him."
“That must have been hard."
“It was, but it made me who I am today. I don't take the wealth, or the work it takes to maintain it, for granted. But I do try to be a kinder man than he was."
You stay quiet and work on the rest of your pasta, slowly savoring each bite. You know Joel will probably leave as soon as you're done, so you take your time.
“I forgot to tell you I got in contact with a law firm I've worked with in the past. They would like to bring you in for an interview for a secretary position."
You nearly drop your fork. “Are you serious?"
Joel smiles at your response. He nods  and takes a swig from his whiskey glass. “I'll get you their information. They're ready to bring you in as soon as you get settled."
“I can't thank you enough, Joel. You don't understand how life-changing this is for me," you say, setting down the bowl of pasta on the table. You wish you could stand up and hug him.
“I'm just glad you decided to stay. You are the only one making this trip bearable," Joel says, meeting your eyes. The look in his eyes makes your heart flutter.
A loud vibration against the leather of the sofa breaks the moment, and Joel pulls out his phone. His face falls as soon as he reads the notification on his home screen. “I’m so sorry but I have something I have to deal with. I'm glad to see that you’re feeling better, darlin. If you need anything, let me know."
You stand. “Thank you for everything, Joel, truly everything."
He smiles and quickly makes his way to the door without looking back and closes the door behind him. The room suddenly feels empty with Joel gone. You slump back onto the leather sofa and grab the garlic bread off the plate, dipping it in the remaining pesto at the bottom of your bowl.
Your phone screen illuminates the dark corner where your bed sits, so you hesitantly get up to check your notifications. At the top are a few messages in the group text between your friends, and just below that is a friend request from Joel. You smile to yourself and accept it, then open your group chat.
Lin: What amazing thing did you get to do today? I am bored of packing for the move. I need to live vicariously through you.
Aubrey: Lin, keep packing you only have a few more weeks.
Lin: Don't sound too sad to have us go, lol!
Aubrey: You know I am going to miss you two like crazy, but I know you will panic pack at the last minute and forget half your underwear drawer. I am not shipping your panties to you, Lin!
Lin: You know me too well, Aubs.
You: I love that every time I check my phone, I have messages like these! Nothing exciting today. We have been at sea all day on our way to Sarah's dad's mansion in the Bahamas. I went down to the employee's quarters and played cards and got a lot of dirt on Sarah’s mom.
Lin: Okay, I'm going to need pictures of this Bahama's Mansion and details on her mom!
You: Sarah's mom left her dad for another man because she thought it would help her climb the social ladder. Turned out he wasn't as rich or well off socially as she thought, and when he died, she did a paternity test, and here we are.
You: We are going to her dad's mansion for Sarah and Todd's engagement party…
Lin: It sounds like Sarah is the spitting image of her mother.
Aubrey: Not only did you have to witness their engagement, but now you have to go to their engagement party too?
Lin: I swear, you have the absolute worst luck on the planet.
You: You don't even know the half of my bad luck on this trip.
Lin: What do you mean? What else has happened?
You: Well, I don't really fit in with the rest of the group.
Aubrey: But I thought you said you were making other friends? Joel right?
You: I am.
Lin: So, what do you mean by bad luck?
You: Joel is Sarah's dad.
Aubrey: Why is that a problem? I have a lot of friends in my classes who are like double my age.
You: It's a problem because I'm falling for him. Absolutely head over heels falling for him.
Once in the hall, Joel opens the text message that interrupted his conversations with you
Lucille: Do you know someone named Blaine?
That simple sentence makes his stomach drop. He was now contacting family members. Joel makes his way back to the privacy of his office for the second time in the same night. He closes the door behind him before dialing his cousin Lucille's number.
“Joel, I am so glad you called me. I just had the strangest conversation with someone named Blaine. I was just getting out of the bath when I got a call from an unknown number. Now, usually I don't answer the phone if I don't know the number, but I gave my information to this adorable man at the coffee shop earlier today, so I figured it was him."
“Lucille, this is important; I need you to tell me exactly what Blaine said to you." He has to keep Lucille focused on the topic, she's always been a talker, but at this moment, he can't politely listen to all of her stories in their excruciating detail.
“Oh, right, the call from Blaine! He told me I needed to meet his demands or else."
“What were his demands?"
“He wants me to send half a million dollars in a box to an address in New Jersey. I'm sure it's just one of those scam callers that has nothing better to do with their life."
“Lucille, if you thought it was a scam, then why did you ask me if I knew him?"
“Well, that's what I found so strange. He knew all about our family tree and how we are related. I just thought it was a little more information than scammers normally have. However, who knows? With the Internet, I'm sure people can find out all kinds of information about our family. We aren't exactly flying under the radar - Oh! Did you see that latest news article in the paper? Apparently, you are about to agree to an arranged marriage to the Princess of Thailand."
“Lucille, I'm afraid this isn't a scam. But the arranged marriage definitely isn't true. Have you left your house since you got this call?"
“No, why? Joel, you're making me nervous."
“Okay, don't leave your house. I'm sending some of my security team over there now. Do not open the door for anyone else."
“What should I do about Blaine's demands?"
“Just ignore it."
“Joel, who is it we’re dealing with?" Lucille asks. She’s clearly nervous now.
“You don't have to deal with anyone, Lucille, I promise. I will take care of everything. Don't answer any unknown numbers, and do not go anywhere without one of my men with you. I will get this figured out."
“Okay, Joel. Just be careful."
“I will be. Call me if you need anything."
He hangs up the phone and slams his palm against his desk, even though he wants to punch something instead. He allows himself a few seconds of anger before picking up his phone again and calling his head of security.
“Hello?" a burly voice sounds on the other end of the phone call.
“Bruce, I need you to send two men over to my cousin Lucille's home in the West Village. Her address should be listed in her file."
“Of course, sir. Has there been an incident?"
“A man named Blaine Blake. He’s blackmailing Lucille at the moment. I’m not sure what he’s capable of, but he is a threat to the entire family. I need your best men on this."
“Two men are already on their way to your cousin's, sir. Do I need to send a team to you?"
He knew he hired Bruce for a reason. He’s extremely efficient and always one step ahead of everyone else. He’s exactly who he needs to help him take care of Blaine.
“No need quite yet, but I'll keep you posted. Oh, and Bruce?"
“Yes, sir?"
“Keep your ear to the ground, and let me know anything you find out about this Blaine Blake. Any information that you find needs to be kept under wraps."
“On it, sir. Everything will be done with the utmost secrecy."
“Thank you, Bruce. Have a good evening."
Joel hangs up the phone and sets it on his large oak desk. Unconsciously, he's been pacing around his office while on the phone. He slumps himself down into his leather armchair and swivels it around so he can watch the ocean. It's so dark, it's hard to differentiate the water from the sky.
He should have known he would hear from Blaine eventually. He first found out about his existence after his parents' death when he was seventeen. His father's will had very bluntly stated that Blaine was to receive nothing. Joel had no idea that he had a half-brother out there in the world until after his dad was gone and couldn't explain the situation for himself. Joel was left spending the rest of his early adult life piecing the clues together. His parents' constant fighting and lack of affection for each other made complete sense as soon as he knew that his father's infidelity was likely the cause. He ripped apart his father's office, trying to find any clues about his hidden life. The only thing he found was a check register, showing he had paid a woman named Anne Blake - one hundred thousand dollars. He had no illusions about his father, he knew exactly what he'd done.
His father kept detailed records of every dime he ever spent; the lack of information on the check register told him everything he needed. The hundred thousand dollars was hush money, and the woman, Anne Blake, had to be his father's mistress. He searched for years to find Anne Blake, but her name was so common, it was impossible to narrow down his search enough to find the right woman. He had no other information to go off of, and was left with a million unanswered questions. It wasn't until he found out he was Sarah's father that he had a hope of finding his brother. Sarah had taken a DNA test that linked her to other Miller's who had their DNA in the same database. Joel took the same DNA test and waited for a notification that he had a sibling match in the database. Last year, that notification finally came, but after some digging into his brother Blaine Blake's history, he wished he'd never known about him. More importantly, he wished he didn't know at all. Blaine's criminal record was far from clean, with multiple charges of petty theft and blackmail. It wasn't long after that, that the threats started coming in. At first, it was easy to shake the threats off, and Joel simply ignored all of them. In the last month, Blaine must have gotten desperate because his attempts at blackmail were getting increasingly threatening.
So far, he even avoided telling his security team about the threats, but now he's threatening Joel's family. He knows Bruce will get to the bottom of the problem, but he'll likely find out about all of his family's dirty laundry in the process.
Joel runs his hands up his face and through his hair. Leaning back, he stares at the ceiling. He knows he’ll never be able to sleep after the events of the last few hours, so he turns back around to his desk and opens his laptop. Might as well get some work done if he's going to be up anyway.
A notification greets him as the screen flashes to life. You accepted his friend request. At that, he can't help but smile, just a little. There's something about you that makes it impossible for Joel to get you out of his head. He's immediately distracted by the memory of you riding on the back of the jet ski to find the dolphins. Thinking of that day, he can almost feel your body pressed against his back and how your face lit up when the dolphins swam into the cove. That night when you walked out of the salon in the dress he mentioned would look good on you; you nearly knocked him senseless. You felt beautiful and he could see it on your face.
He realises sitting there alone in his office, he would give anything to make you feel that way all the time. There's no point in denying it any further, he's falling for you. If you were anyone other than Sarah's friend, he'd pursue you without a second thought. But, the last thing he needs is to complicate his relationship with his daughter even more. It doesn't help that his daughter is so clueless as to be cruel to the one person she invites that could actually help her grow into a decent person.
The screen of his phone alerts him to another incoming text message.
Marnie: I need a plane ticket to the Bahamas. It was bad enough that I had to hear about my daughter's engagement over the phone. I refuse to miss her engagement party too. So we will also need to push the party back so I can be there.
A few seconds later, another message follows the first.
Marnie: Also, we need to start discussing the wedding plans. Sarah's wedding needs to be absolutely perfect. We can talk about the details later. Send the flight information as soon as possible.
Joel opens the drawer of his desk and slides his phone inside. He is not in the mood to deal with Marnie and her demands. He knows deep down that Sarah is becoming more and more like her mother each and every day. A part of him is excited about Sarah's wedding for the simple fact that she’ll be another man's problem. He immediately feels bad for thinking that of his own daughter, but it seems she only cares about his money. Thinking about Sarah's upcoming wedding brings a new wave of memories rushing in. Embarrassment floods his veins as he thinks about the conversation he had with his daughter over dinner. She said that you didn't fit the aesthetic of her wedding, so she wouldn't ask you to be a bridesmaid. He couldn't understand that. But if Sarah won't have you at the wedding as a bridesmaid, maybe he'll just bring you as his date.
The last thing you want to do is run into Todd, especially after his actions the night before; you think it would be wise to avoid him completely. Book in hand, you head to the secret deck off of the dining room balcony, where you had shared a few quiet moments with Joel. You figure it would be the best place for you to hide out and also possibly run into Joel again. He left in such a rush the night before, you’re curious to find out what happened. You check down the hallway before speed walking to the dining room. As soon as your hand hits the doorknob, Sarah's voice sounds behind you.
"I have been looking for you everywhere!"
You turn around quickly, and you’re relieved to see that Sarah is alone. She’s wearing a one-piece swimming suit in navy blue with the bust line cutting down to her belly button. She has a white sun hat and a pair of Chanel sunglasses to complete her beachwear.
"Sarah," you say with a smile.
"Come with me down to the beach. I am so bored, and I can't stand being on this boat for another second," she says with an overly dramatic sigh.
"I thought we were heading to your dad's place and wouldn't get there until tonight." You turn and look out the dining room windows. You’re surprised you hadn't noticed earlier that you aren't moving.
"Daddy said we had to stop to refuel. He is also giving some of the crew their half-day break so they can go on land and contact family or something stupid like that," Sarah says with a roll of her eyes.
"Oh," you say, slightly irritated at Sarah's insensitivity. "Well, a half-day isn't that bad."
"It is when you have an engagement party to plan. Plus, daddy told me that my mom is flying out for the party. She is going to be waiting at the house while we sit here all day."
The thought of meeting Marnie makes you slightly nervous. Maybe because you’re worried she’ll be able to tell you have feelings for Joel. You can't let Sarah catch you in a daydream about her dad, so you shift the conversation as quickly as possible.
"Where is everyone else?"
"Everyone has a hangover. Todd started a drinking game last night, and everyone had a little too much."
Well, that makes a lot of the previous night make more sense. Todd is never one to handle his alcohol very well, and he’s even worse at games. You’re curious as to just how many drinks made Todd forget himself the way he did last night. He was not waiting long into the engagement to show his true colors.
"How are you not hung over?" you ask, looking her up and down. She doesn't look like she was drinking the night before at all. As always, she looks absolutely flawless.
"The bartenders know to give me water instead of an actual shot. I hate the way I get bags under my eyes when I drink too much. It’ss much better to stay hydrated than look hungover."
"Right. Well, I was just going to go find somewhere quiet to read, but reading on the beach sounds a lot more fun."
"Great! I can wait for you to go get ready," Sarah says, looking at your outfit.
"I am ready, Sarah."
"Oh, you look…cute. Anyway, let's go!"
You follow Sarah out on the dock and quickly realize it will not be a simple morning on the beach.
A few members of staff have set up a large tan beach canopy surrounded by white gauzy curtains. In the center is a pair of chaise lounge chairs made of rattan and topped with matching white cushions. It looks like a photoshoot.
"Do you think you could take a few pictures of me? I haven't posted anything in a few days, and my followers are getting antsy."
The true purpose of Sarah inviting you to spend time with her this morning becomes very obvious. She needs a photographer, not a friend.
"Sure, I can take a few. I really want to read this book, though, so if we could be fast…"
"Oh, that is an awesome idea!"
Sarah grabs the book out of your hand and flips it from the front cover to the back. You must look confused because she quickly explains.
"We could take a few shots of me reading on the beach. I haven't done that before. Is this one of those books that will make me look smart?"
"Yeah, I guess we could. It's just a romance novel, I don't know if your followers will think it makes you smart, but it might make you a little more relatable to some people."
"Smart people read. You, of all people, should know that. Maybe I’ll stop getting all those mean comments about being stupid. I can caption it 'steamy reading on the beach.'"
Sarah takes her place on the lounge in a very photogenic pose that makes her look graceful while still artfully showing off her cleavage. She opens the book and drapes it over herself, careful not to block her best assets. After a few pictures, she will check your work and find the smallest thing she doesn't like and will make you take more.
"Make sure you get the lighting just right and hold the camera up higher for a better angle. Oh, and make sure to get a good view of the ring. I'm hoping someone will notice it, and then my comment section will blow up."
"Don't you want to wait until the actual announcement?" you ask.
"Oh, no! I am going to pretend like it is a mistake that I posted a picture with the ring on; that way, it will attract more attention."
"It's always about the attention with you," you say under your breath.
"What was that?"
"Tilt your head up higher, so you don't have a double chin."
Sarah gasps and asks to see the pictures you had taken, so she can search for the nonexistent double chin. You feel bad as soon as you say it, you don't need to stoop to her level. After finding out so much about Sarah's past, you understand why she can be so hard to be around at times. If you had found out your father wasn't really your father after he passed away, you would have been devastated too.
"I think it was just a shadow, Sarah you don't have a double chin in any of these pictures. I don't think it is even possible for you to have a double chin," you say, trying to make up for your moment of weakness.
"Of course, you're right," Sarah says as she hands her phone back to you. Apparently, you aren't done taking pictures.
"Maybe we could get a few shots of me in the sand. Those always get a ton of likes."
Sarah begins to position herself on her stomach in the sand with the book open in front of her. She bends her knees, so her legs are in the air, and she bites the end of her sunglasses while she pretends to read. The pictures look like they belong on the cover of a magazine. Sarah looks so natural, even though she's strategically posing herself.
“Sarah, do you ever get tired of this?"
“Of taking pictures? No, not really."
“Not just of the pictures, but of constantly worrying about what others are thinking of you."
“That is why I take so many pictures; if you put your best picture out there, the only ones who comment mean things are the people who are jealous."
“It just seems like so much work to paint yourself as perfect all the time. I guess that's why I stopped using social media so long ago for the most part."
“For once, things actually are perfect. I have the perfect fiance, and soon I'll have the perfect wedding too. If you ever want to get back onto social media, I could help you.”
"I'm good for now, but thanks," you say, resuming taking pictures. You realize that Sarah likely doesn't know about your past relationship with Todd because you never posted anything about it on social media. If you don't tell her, she likely wouldn't ever know, and you don't want to be the one to break that news to her. So you keep your mouth shut and keep taking every picture Sarah asks for.
"I think I should have something I can work with from these. Thanks, for helping me out. It was so much fun to spend some time with you," Sarah says, making her way back to the ship without looking back.
It isn't exactly your idea of fun to take pictures all afternoon, but you are finally alone, and you can enjoy your book. You take Sarah's chaise lounge under the shade of the canopy. Even with the breeze gently fluttering the sheer curtains hanging off the canopy, you are still dripping sweat. You had to stand directly in the sun to get all of the shots until your wet tank top clung to your body.
You check the beach to make sure it’s empty before slipping your shirt off and setting it next to you on the empty lounge chair. You feel so much cooler as the breeze snakes through the gaps of your lacy bralette. You open your book and are so thankful for the silence. You get sucked into the story on the pages, so much so that you don’t hear the voices approaching until they are only a few feet from you.
"Can you call and make sure the interest rate we discussed earlier is set in stone?"
"Of course, sir."
You don't have time to slip back into your shirt, so you press the open book to your chest, taking advantage of the little coverage it offers you. You look up to find Joel and Reggie staring at you. Reggie quickly averts his eyes. Joel stares openly at your body, and when his eyes meet yours, you know he wants you as much as you want him.
Reggie apologizes, "We didn't realize you were out here. We will give you some privacy." He keeps his head down and shuffles through the sand back to the dock.
"We aren't leaving for a few more hours." Joel holds your gaze as tightly as you’re holding the open book to your chest. "Take your time and enjoy yourself. I'll make sure no one comes down and bothers you if you'd like to resume reading," Joel offers. He winks at you and then follows Reggie back to the dock.
You watch Joel as he walks away, his neatly pressed linen button-up fluttering gently in the breeze. Once he and Reggie are at a safe distance, you grab your shirt off of the lounge chair next to you and slip it over your head. You let yourself fall backward on the plush cushions and close your eyes, imagining Joel undressing you the way he had done with his eyes when he realized you were wearing nothing but your bralette.
A wave of heat rushes through you at the thought until you remember where you are. You sit up so quickly that you make your head spin. After waiting a few seconds to regain your balance, you place your book under your arm, and with your head down, you race back to your room. As soon as your door clicks closed behind you, you head for the shower, throwing your clothes to the floor on your way there. You stand for a long time under the cool water. Eventually, you feel the embarrassment wash down the drain. It takes even longer for the heat Joel made you feel to wash away.
Wrapping yourself in a towel, you make your way out of the bathroom. You would love to sit on the balcony and let the breeze help extinguish what you’re feeling, but you figure you've already taken too much risk for one day. Instinctively, you grab your phone off of the bed to text your friends an update.
You: If I could die of embarrassment, you two would be making funeral arrangements as we speak.
Lin: Oooo, is there some daddy drama we need to know about?
You: Unfortunately, yes. I was just lying on the beach in my bralette, and I had no idea Joel was walking by until it was too late.
Aubrey: I'm sure he didn't mind. If it is that one you bought on our last shopping trip, I know he didn't mind!
Lin: So what did you do? Let him stand there in awe?
You: So not funny, you two! I covered myself with the book I was reading… but we definitely shared a moment.
Lin: Sounds steamier than those romance novels you read!
You: I think I am in way over my head. What do I do? We are staying at his house in the Bahamas for the next few days. We should get there later tonight.
Lin: Let it happen!
Aubrey: Just see where it goes, but if you want to leave, I will find you a plane out of there.
You: It might not be a bad idea to get that flight information. Would you mind Aubrey?
Aubrey: Of course, I will send you the details; that way, you have them if you need them.
You: Thank you. I will keep you both updated!
You close your phone and sigh. You don't want to leave, but it might be for the best, so you don't do something stupid. The thought of leaving this vacation is a weighted decision. If you don't see Todd again for the rest of your life, you'll be overjoyed. However, the thought of possibly never seeing Joel again, of never finding out if you could be more, is painful to think about. Your head is spinning over what the best decision is. So, instead of making any big decisions, you get yourself dressed, fully expecting another quiet day at sea. Exhausted from the heat of the morning and Sarah's impromptu photo shoot, you throw yourself on the bed and close your eyes for what feels like a few minutes.
A light knocking on your door wakes you up, and your eyes take a moment to adjust to the lighting in the room. A quick look out your balcony window, and you know you've slept way longer than you had intended. The golden glow of sunset is streaming through the windows, dusting everything in a light pink hue.
"Brenna! Hey, what's going on?" you ask as you open the door, happy to see a familiar face.
"I was sent up to help you with your luggage. We should be arriving at the Miller's vacation home in about an hour," Brenna explains.
"Oh, wow. I slept a lot longer than I meant to," you say and hold the door open for Brenna to enter your room. You try to rub the sleep from your eyes as she walks into your room.
"No worries, the only thing you missed was the 'Richies' showing off in the pool all day," Brenna reports.
"Then it sounds like I made the right decision. How were they showing off?" you ask.
"Oh, you know the usual 'I'm so annoyed my parents bought me the wrong color convertible,' 'I can't believe he really thought that I drank anything but sparkling water,' 'the sheets in my room are so uncomfortable–the ones on my dad's yacht are Egyptian cotton.'"
You laugh and shake your head. Brenna does a great impression of the things you have heard from different members of the group all week. You head to the closet, Brenna right behind you. "I don't think it will actually take me an hour to get everything packed up. Most of my stuff can just be thrown back in my suitcase, and my new clothes are all still in the garment bags," you say.
"It must be my lucky day. I was in that girl Megan's room earlier, and it looked like she tried on an entire store's worth of clothes and threw them on the floor when they weren't what she was looking for. I feel horrible for whoever got assigned to her room," Brenna comments.
"I would pity anyone who had to work for Megan. I avoid her at all costs. When she glares at you, it feels like you're going to start burning right on the spot," you say.
"I know, right? She's the worst of all of Sarah's friends, but her dad owns some luxury watch company, so she has been a regular on the guest lists for a long time," Brenna explains.
"Brenna, what is the vacation house like?" you ask.
"It's more than someone like you or me could ever believe one person could afford," Brenna replies.
As the yacht pulls up to the private dock of the Miller's Bahama vacation home, the size of the mansion is on full display. The white colonial-style mansion is three stories tall, with cantilever balconies off of the second floor. An illuminated infinity pool rests at the top of the white sanded private beach. A small runway off to the side of the property ends at a white stone gazebo that juts out into the ocean. Full palm trees edge the beach, making it feel secluded from the rest of the island. Music plays from the large deck, and shadows of people dot the beach and poolside.
Sarah rushes down to the dock, where a group of very rich women wait for you. Sarah squeals and thrusts her hand forward to show off her engagement ring. This is followed by echoed squeals from the group. You hesitate as your feet hit the dock, not wanting to get in the middle of the model-like women.
"Oh, sweetie, the maid's entrance is around to the side," one of the women says.
You stop in your tracks, not knowing how to respond to the assumption. You feel a warm palm on your lower back push you gently forward past the woman. Joel.
He leans down close to your ear and whispers, "Don't let them intimidate you. You're twice the woman any of them could ever be." His breath tickles your neck, and goosebumps prickle the skin down your arms. You look up at him and give him a weak smile. "Let me show you where you’ll be staying," he says quietly as he lets the corner of his mouth brush your earlobe.
"Thank you," you nearly moan.
Joel keeps his hand on your lower back as you walk to the mansion. He leads you through the back doors and into a living room with a giant chandelier hanging in the middle of the room. Two fish tanks containing every color of tropical fish rest on either side of the large staircase you take to the second floor.
"This is one of my favorite rooms in the entire house," Joel says. He leads you into an elegant bedroom with white double doors exiting onto one of the balconies you had seen from the yacht. Palm fronds are a recurring theme in the decorations throughout the room in a pale green color.
"It's so beautiful; I wouldn't dare touch anything," you say.
"Nonsense. Make yourself comfortable. It's one of three master bedrooms, so you have your own ensuite just through that door there," Joel says, gesturing to an open door on the other side of the room.
"I don't know if I belong in one of the master suites. I would really be okay with one of the smaller rooms," you say.
"This is where you belong. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.”
—
Waking up in the enormous master suite, you find yourself bathed in the soft glow of morning coming through the windows. The tranquillity is broken by screams of irritation from the floor below.
Wrapping the robe Joel had given you around yourself, you open the door to your room and hurry down the stairs to see what's going on. "You have got to be kidding me! This is completely unacceptable!" A woman with hair matching Sarah's is yelling at Max, the staff member you'd played cards with on the yacht.
"Ma'am, I don't know what to tell you. Mr. Miller has already assigned the rooms; I cannot go against his direct orders. There is already another guest staying in that room, and I am sure Mr. Miller would not approve of me kicking them out of the room," Max replies, clearly exasperated.
"We will see about that. You will be lucky if you still have a job by the time I'm through with you," the woman retorts and spots you on the stairs. Her face is devoid of emotion, probably from the excessive and very obvious botox treatments. "Come to enjoy the show, did we?" she asks, but you can't tell if she's trying to glare at you or not. You turn around, deciding it's best not to get involved.
A few hours later, you dare to leave your room again but are met with more yelling coming from the lower floor. Your empty stomach protests the idea of going back through there, so you hope you can make it to the kitchen without anyone seeing you.
"So you are the one that took my room," Marnie says immediately, and you know it's her.
You turn to find not only Marnie but Sarah, Todd, and Megan too. Megan has a small smirk on her mouth that she tries and fails to hide.
"What are you talking about?" you ask, pretending you have no idea what she means.
"I just found out that one of the master bedrooms went to you. I am stuck on the bottom floor in one of the guest rooms like some commoner," Marnie complains.
"I don't see the problem. I was told which room had been assigned to me. I didn't ask for it."
"Oh, you must be the poor one. It makes sense why you can't understand something so simple," Marnie says with a pointed look at your simple clothes.
Megan laughs at Marnie's comment, and Sarah playfully slaps her arm to get her to stop. You can't bring yourself to look at Todd's face, but you figure he's getting a laugh out of this interaction as well.
"Do you know who I am?" Marnie asks.
You internally cringe. You've always hated customers who tried the 'do you know who I am' card at the bar. "I'm guessing that you’re Sarah's mother," you say as calmly as you can.
"Exactly. So you need to pack up your things and get out of my room."
"I'm not moving my stuff. I was assigned that room, and I'm going to stay in it."
Marnie starts stammering an explanation, but Joel walks into the room without her noticing. Relief floods your entire body, knowing Joel is here. He has an angry burning look in his eyes that makes Marnie nervous.
"This whole thing was just a misunderstanding. I just figured, with our history, I would have one of the bigger rooms. I just remembered, though, that I love the view of the ocean from the room I'm in, that’s  probably why you picked it for me," Marnie explains.
Joel doesn't say anything in response, and Marnie tries her best to make an escape. Sarah and Todd follow Marnie out of the kitchen, and you feel heat on your lower back. Joel has placed his hand there and leans close to you.
"Are you okay?" he asks quietly.
You nod and step away from him, grabbing an apple out of the fruit bowl on the counter.
The rest of the morning is spent carefully avoiding Marnie, but it seems like everywhere you go, Todd shows up a few minutes later. He's always talking very loudly about what needs to be done before the engagement party. Not wanting to talk to him, you give up and go back to your room. You go out to the balcony and lean over the railing to watch the ocean. A few men are surfing, and you can make out Joel sitting on his surfboard bobbing in the water.
"Baby cakes?"
You look over to see Todd leaning over the railing of the adjacent balcony, straining to see you on yours. You shake your head at him.
"Please, I just need to talk to you."
"You have nothing to say that I would be interested in hearing," you say and go back into your room, shutting the door behind you a little more forcefully than you intended. Your heart is pounding, and you know you need to get control of your anger, but you can't do that knowing Todd is in the next room over. So you grab your book and a beach towel out of the bathroom before heading down to the beach. You walk through the living area of the mansion and nearly run into two giant ice sculptures as they are being brought through to the kitchen.
"Oh, careful!" Sarah says, rushing over to inspect the ice sculpture. You quickly step back to avoid a life-size rendition of Sarah and Todd embracing.
"Oh wow…" is the only thing you can say, looking at the ice sculpture.
"I know, right? It is absolutely perfect," Sarah beams.
"It sure is something."
"Mom commissioned it as soon as she found out about the engagement party."
"Well, I want the best for my little girl," Marnie's voice flows down the stairs as she makes her way toward you with Todd on her arm.
"It really is the perfect embodiment of us both," Todd says with a smile in your direction.
"It matches your heart, Todd. Ice cold," you mutter under your breath.
You make a hasty exit out the back door and nearly run towards the beach, needing to get away from both versions of Todd.
You spread your towel out in the sand and lounge on the ground, hoping to continue the book you had been trying to read the day before. Sarah's demanding voice carries all the way down to the private beach.
You need a better distraction. You throw your head back and look up at the bright blue sky. You don't think you can make it through this engagement party. Your phone vibrates with a text message from Aubrey, containing flight information for a flight leaving the next day. It would cost the rest of your savings, but maybe it would be for the best if you left.
"Every time I've seen you lately, you've had that book with you, but you never seem to be reading it."
You sit up to find Joel standing in front of you, shirtless, soaking wet, and holding a surfboard. Beads of water are sliding down his naked torso, and you can't help but watch them caress his skin, slowly sneaking lower. You look back up at Joel's teasing smile.
"Do you need a towel? You're dripping on me," you say with a playful smile.
"Would you share yours? Unless you'd like to join me for one more wave."
"I have never been surfing," you admit.
"I would be happy to teach you, as long as you don't send us both flying into the water again," Joel says with a wink and a charming smile.
“I can't make any promises about that," you say with a laugh.
“Then it might be best for you to stay on dry land. The engagement party is supposed to start in a few hours."
You sigh quietly and look down at your toes; you buried them under the sand. You pull them out and brush off the sand.
“Well then, I'm going to head back up to shower and get ready." Joel offers you his hand and helps you off the ground.
“I'll see you there." You hand Joel the towel you had been sitting on.
“In the shower?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.
“I'll see you at the party Joel," you reply with a seductive glance over your shoulder as you walk back toward the mansion, leaving him behind you. You can feel his eyes on you as you walk away.
The soft fabric of your chiffon cocktail dress swishes against your thighs as you make your way downstairs. The music is already thumping through the house from the back patio, making the windows rattle slightly. The infinity pool is illuminated, giving the entire party a slight glow. The first place you head is to the bartender, knowing it's going to take a lot to get through this night and needing all the help you can get.
"Would you like a Sarah Lemon Drop or a Todd Tequila Shot?"
"Are these the only two things on the menu?" you ask. You shouldn't be surprised that they have signature drinks named after themselves.
The bartender gives you a sympathetic smile, "Or we have the Marry Me Margarita."
This is going to be a very long night.
"A margarita then…"
You walk away with your margarita in hand and join a small group of people surrounding the life-size ice sculpture of Sarah and Todd. A woman turns to you and asks, "So how do you know the couple?"
"Oh, I went to school with Sarah at NYU." You figure it's best to leave out how you know Todd.
"I didn't realize that Sarah went to college. She never mentioned it at our photo shoot in Greece last year. That's how we met," she says with an air of superiority.
"What did you study at NYU?" a man says, entering the conversation.
"Oh, I got my Bachelor's in history and I just graduated with my Master's in political science. I'm going to Harvard for Law school in the fall."
"That sounds absolutely terrible. I went for the first week of college and dropped out. They wanted me to show up for classes before, like ten in the morning," the woman says.
"Yeah, some of the classes can be pretty early," you say, not knowing how to respond.
"So, are your parents making you go to law school or something? Does your dad own a law firm? I have a friend whose dad is making him become a lawyer so he can take over the law firm someday," the man asks you.
"No, I'm not being forced, I just have always wanted to be a lawyer. No one in my family owns a law firm, although I wish they did. That would make finding a job after I graduate a lot easier," you answer with a nervous laugh.
The two give you a strange look as though they had never met someone who willingly went to college to pursue a career simply because it was what they wanted.
"So you're, like, smart," the woman says in a patronizing tone. They turn to each other and actually laugh at you while you’re still standing next to them.
"Don't tell me you are putting yourself through school too. Let me guess, you're a waitress or something," the man says with a mean smile.
"I'm a bartender," you say quietly.
This answer sends them both over the edge with giggles. They move forward, effectively cutting you out of the group with their bodies. You realize that you have nothing in common with these people and turn to leave.
Tears sting the corners of your eyes, and you need to get away from the thumping beat of the DJ's speakers. You refuse to cry in front of these people. You walk down the runway to the gazebo that juts out into the ocean, so the waves crash against all sides, drowning out the music and laughter from the party. You brace yourself on the backrest of an iron bench, wiping away an escaping tear from your face. You know you don't belong here, and you can't stand staying another day. You pull your phone out of the clutch you're carrying and send a quick text to Aubrey and Lin.
You: I just got laughed at for wanting to become a lawyer. I need to get away from these people.
Aubrey: Do you want me to book you that flight?
You: Yes, I'm ready to come home.
Aubrey: Bad news. The flight tomorrow is booked.
You: When is the next flight out of here?
Aubrey: In two days.
You: Book it. I will just find a way to hide out for one more day.
Lin: You can get through this! I will be waiting at the airport to pick you up.
You: I can't thank you two enough. What would I do without you? I miss you both, and I can't wait to see you.
Aubrey: Your flight has been changed. We will see you in two days. Hang in there! We love you!
Lin: What Aubrey said. Just two more days!
You: Love you girls too!
A hand grips the top of yours on the bench and gives it a small squeeze.
"I have been trying to talk to you all day. Why have you been avoiding me?"
You look down and are disappointed that it's not Joel's tanned hand on top of yours. You rip your hand out from under Todd's and give him an icy glare. "What do you need?"
"I need to talk to you in private."
"This is private enough," you say, looking back at the party. You know someone would hear you if you screamed loud enough.
"Just come back to my room with me." Todd leans in close and whispers, "I miss you."
"You can talk to me here or not at all," you say and take a large step back and away from him.
"You look amazing, baby cakes. I have never seen you wear a dress like that. It looks good on you and would look even better off," he says with a sleazy smile.
"Do not call me that! Don't think about me like that! Does your fiance know where you are?" you hiss.
"Of course, she doesn't, and she doesn't have to."
"Does she know anything, Todd? Does she know about our past? Does she know that you dated me for years and how you were still dating me when you two met?" Your breaths are coming in ragged gasps now. You have never been so angry at Todd before. You can't stand the fact that he has not only thrown you over for someone else after you had wasted years of your life on him, but now he has the nerve to try and win you back at his engagement party.
"Of course, she knows," he says quickly while looking away.
"You are such a liar!" Your voice echoes against the pillars of the gazebo. Angry tears burn your eyes, but you refuse to let them fall.
"Are you sure I'm the liar and not Sarah? What if she just invited you here to make you watch her get engaged to your ex? It sounds like just the kind of game that she and her rich friends would find so entertaining. They have been laughing at you behind your back this entire trip."
"You've always been the liar, Todd. I wish I had seen that from the very beginning. You obviously don't know Sarah. There is no way she would be that cruel. I never mentioned you by name to her when we were dating because she never seemed to care about my personal life. And if they've been laughing at me this entire time, why didn't you tell me sooner? You're just lying to save yourself." You hope the words you say are true. Spending this much time with Sarah is a rare occurrence, and she seems different. However, you can't fathom that she would intentionally cause you pain.
"We have the chance to get back at her for humiliating you," Todd whispers.
"What are you talking about?" you ask, puzzled by the sudden change in topic.
"Take me back. She never has to know that we made up. Everything could go back to how it was."
"Back to how it was? Really, Todd? How do you think that would ever work? You expect me to be fine with the fact that you are marrying Sarah? Do you really think Sarah would be okay with her husband having a girlfriend on the side?" you ask, taken aback by his request.
"I would still marry Sarah, and we would have more money than we would even know what to do with. As soon as my dad makes me a partner, I will have to go on business trips all the time, and you could come with me. Sarah will never know that we are back together."
"You're ridiculous, Todd. It's all about the money, isn't it? You want everything that you can't have, and you are only marrying Sarah for her money."
"Well, she's not bad to look at either," Todd says as if you are the one being unreasonable.
"I can't believe I ever loved you. You are a terrible person. Just leave me alone, Todd," you say, turning away from him and crossing your arms. You are drained from your conversation and realize that there is no way to make him see how wrong he is being.
"Take me back, please," Todd says, reaching out and grabbing your arm.
"Don't touch me," you say, pulling away from him.
Someone clears their throat at the entrance of the gazebo. Todd drops his arm and takes a step back. "Todd, Sarah is looking for you. I think it would be best if you went and found her."
Todd doesn't respond and quickly leaves. You watch as he stops in front of Joel, waiting for him to move so that he can leave. Joel remains where he is standing, so Todd has to awkwardly squeeze past him. If you weren't so angry and trying to hold back the tears still hot in your eyes, you would have laughed.
You let out a frustrated sigh that turns into a small sob. Joel is by your side in seconds. "Are you okay?" Joel asks, putting a hand on each of your arms and rubbing them comfortingly.
"I'm fine," you lie, trying to hide the few tears that have fallen down your face.
"You're shaking. You are not okay. Come with me," Joel says, holding out his hand, and you take it.
"I don't want to go back to the party," you say.
"We don't have to go back to the party.”
"Then where are we going?" you ask, your voice cracking.
"To my room.”
Joel holds your hand as he leads you through a side door of the mansion, avoiding the large crowd of the engagement party. When the door closes behind you, the music and noise of the group become muffled. All you can hear is the low rumble of the bass as it vibrates through the walls.
Joel and you walk in silence, and he never lets go of your hand as he leads you back to his room. Joel's room is decorated in soft grays and silvers. The massive bed stands alone in the center of the room with a crystal chandelier hanging over the center.
Your feet are sore, so you slip your heels off and set them by the double door entrance of the room. Joel clicks the lock on the door, walks across the room, and sits down in an armchair on the other side of the room. You follow, your bare feet cold on the tile floors.
The room's soft coldness makes you feel like you're surrounded by a cloud, comfortable and warm but still in a storm. You nearly sink into the plush armchair that matches Joel's. You would love to be enveloped by the chair and not have the conversation you know is coming. Unfortunately, the truth will likely bring on a storm of its own.
"I need to know the truth."
"I know you do," you say. You let the silence fall between you, not knowing how to start. So you wait for Joel to ask a question first.
"You've known Todd for longer than just this week, haven't you?"
"I met him at NYU in one of my general classes," you admit.
"So you've known him for years?"
"Almost four years," you say barely above a whisper. "We dated for three."
You hear Joel take a deep breath at your confession.
"Why didn't you tell me or Sarah?"
"Honestly, I didn't know what to do. When I got here, I had no idea that Todd would be on board too. Sarah introduced me to him as her new boyfriend, and he acted as though we had never met before. The situation was so uncomfortable. I was still in shock and so hurt."
"So you just decided to say nothing instead?" his eyebrows cinch together. All you can manage is a nod as the tears blur the edges of your vision. "You said you were hurt seeing him again. How long ago was this break up?"
"He officially broke up with me the day before I walked to receive my Master's degree. We had been fighting for weeks before that, though, when I found out he had been cheating on me for months."
"Shit. With my daughter?"
"Yes…they met at my birthday party."
"Did she know?"
"I honestly don't think she knew. Or at least if she did, she didn't know I was the girlfriend."
"I'm so sorry. But how did you expect to spend an entire vacation keeping this all a secret?"
"By the time I came to my senses, the yacht had already departed. I figured I would avoid Todd, and at the end of this vacation, I would go back to my normal life. I would never see him again after I moved, and I honestly didn't think that Sarah and Todd would last. Sarah never dates anyone for longer than a few months. I never imagined that Sarah would get engaged to him."
"Why has he been following you around?" Joel says sternly.
"I don't know why he can't just let our relationship go…" you say.
You hear Joel sigh, and when he speaks again, his tone is softer. "What did he have to say to you tonight in the gazebo? You looked like he had you cornered."
"He was lying to me...." you attempt to avoid his question, not wanting to go into the awful details of your conversation with Todd.
"About what?" Joel asks, he was clearly going to keep pressing until you told him everything.
"He told me Sarah knew and that she invited me on purpose as some kind of joke for her and all her rich friends."
"I know my daughter can be thoughtless at times, but I don't believe she would purposely be so cruel," he says, rubbing his hands on his face.
"I don't believe him," you assure Joel, seeing the worried look on his face.
"Why would he outright lie like that?"
It takes you a few minutes to respond, trying to find the best way to word your answer. You sigh and look down at your feet. "He was trying to convince me to sleep with him again… to get back at Sarah."
Anger heats Joel's gaze as his eyes bore into yours. "Do you want him again?"
"What are you talking about? No! Of course, not. I don't want him in any way ever again. He completely betrayed me," you say, completely shocked by his question. You'd figured his anger would be towards Todd, not you. Joel's eyes remain dark, and he doesn't respond. Instead, he gets up from his chair and starts pacing the room. "Aren't you worried that this is the man that your daughter has picked to marry?" you ask, exasperated that he is questioning you about wanting to sleep with your ex. As if you are so weak that you can't possibly say no to a man who has utterly betrayed your trust.
"If I go and tell Sarah what's going on and try to convince her to end the engagement, then he would be free to come back to you. Is that what you want?" Joel asks through clenched teeth.
Joel's words sting.
"Why are you twisting everything I say?"
"How can I trust anything you say after you've lied to everyone this entire time?"
The tears truly start falling then. You quickly stand from your chair and make your way to the door. Before you even reach your shoes next to the door, Joel grabs your wrist, making you pause.
"Stop. I'm sorry. I didn't mean that," he says softly as he runs his thumb in circles on your wrist. Normally, that would have made your heart flutter, but at that moment, the only thing you want is to be alone on a flight headed for home.
"I don't need this from you." You use the back of your free hand to wipe the tears streaming down your cheeks.
"I just hate imagining you with him," he says quietly.
You let the unsaid meaning of his words float between you. Neither of you acknowledges the implications of his words.
"I just have to know. Do you love him?"
"Will you believe what I tell you?" you ask, finally turning around to look at him again.
He lets your wrist fall from his fingers. "Yes. I promise," he says with a note of fear in his eyes. Is he truly afraid that you are still in love with a man who treated you so poorly? He reaches up to your face and wipes away another stray tear.
"No. I do not love him," you say pointedly, your voice steady.
"Did you love him?" Joel asked softly.
"I was with him for three years, Joel," you say with a sigh
"That's not what I asked. Did you love him?" he asks again, more forcefully.
"I did love him, but after everything that's happened, how could I still love him? I was wrong about so many things in our relationship," you respond.
"What if you change your mind?" Joel resumes pacing the room.
"I won't. I don't take betrayal lightly," you say firmly.
"I just wish you would have said something from the very beginning."
Anger surges through you. Anger because Joel doesn't seem to understand that everything between you and Todd is over. You don't want anything to do with Todd because the only person you want is Joel. You only want Joel. "You don't get it though, do you?" you say, stepping up to him, blocking his path.
"What am I not getting? Tell me why you lied to me for so long. I would have understood."
"Would you really have understood? Don't you get it? If I had told the truth from the very beginning, I would have been on the first flight home. I would have left as soon as we made the first port," you say, raising your voice.
Joel stares at you, still not understanding. You take another step closer to him, so close that your bodies almost touch. You take a deep breath to calm yourself down before continuing.
"If I had told the truth, I would have never gotten to know you!"
Joel looks at you intensely. He knows you're right.
"I wanted to tell you first thing, but I was just scared. I don't fit in here, remember? The last thing I needed was to make Sarah mad. And who even knows if Todd would've owned up to it? He could've pretended I was lying to cover for himself," you explain, turning away from him.
He gently grabs your arm, making you face him. He looks down at your hand and then interlaces his fingers with yours.
"So, you're glad we've gotten to know each other then?" he asks with a sly smile.
You can't help but smile back. "Of course, I am. Isn't it obvious? I spend most of my time with you."
He nods. "That's true." He lets go of your hand, but your fingertips still touch.
"Todd wanted you to have sex with him to make Sarah mad? He seems to be pretty hung up on you,” Joel says, looking at you.
You raise your eyebrows slightly at that. "Are you trying to ask me about our sex life?"
Joel looks at you. "Honestly, I'm just jealous he knows what sex with you is like."
Your cheeks grow warm, and your heartbeat quickens.
"Why would you be jealous of that? I'm sure you've been with plenty of women," you say.
"Yes, I've been with women, but none as beautiful as you–inside and out," Joel replies, looking into your eyes.
You stare at each other, your fingertips brushing against each other. He moves closer to you and lifts your chin up. You gaze up at him, and he brushes a strand of hair out of your face with a smile and then ever so slowly, he leans down and kisses you.

Feeling absolutely reduced to a hot and sweaty mess as you laid underneath Bradley. Who was staring at your disheveled face. A look of pride written across his face as your body trembled around him.
"I have never seen you cum so much like that before darlin." Praising you as a hand covers your eyes in embarrassment. "You did so good for me baby."
That powerful and mind blowing release had you almost in tears. Trying with all your might not to just cry in front of him. Feeling like that might weird him out a little bit. Since he could take tears as being in pain or discomfort, and then he would stop, and you didn't want him to stop. Your body was feeling overwhelmed as it continued to shake underneath his fingertips.
"Let me see those pretty eyes of yours." His deep voice persuades you as your hands slowly moved away from your face to look up at his smirking one.
"Roos." Whining his nickname as he snickers keeping his cock still absolutely still inside of you.
"Whadda you need pretty girl?" He teases feeling your cunt clenching around you making him groan.
Bradley knew exactly what you wanted, but was still too shy to say anything to him. He always helped you ease your way into expressing what you wanted with him. Giving you a little bit without asking him, and then getting you to finally speak up. Carefully pulling out from your raw cunt your body jolting at the sensitivity from the sudden loss of him. Feeling his cum ooze out of your body his hand massaging your inner thigh soothingly.
"Fuck me baby girl look at you." Watching as his liquid spilled out of you and trailed down between your cheeks. He was licking his lips wanting nothing more than to lick it all up, and taste how delicious you both were mixed. That's exactly what he did too.
His hot mouth attaching to your puffy and still wet cunt. Hands reaching out to grip onto his hair as his tongue flicked back and forth on your clit. Back arching off the bed as he slurped away, hands gripping your inner knees as he kept them pushed apart so he had full and complete access to you. Body feeling like it was on fire as he thrusted his thick tongue inside of you. Rotating your hips around to feel more as his nose brushed against your clit.
"Oh my god." Crying out as your orgasm was already swiftly approaching still extremely sensitive from your previous release. Bradley looking up at your remarkable expression unable to look anywhere else. Loving that he was the one in control feeling like he held all the power in your pleasure, and it made him feel like a god.
Reaching a hand over to your pelvis as his thumb started to rub circles on your nub. Your senses heightened and overwhelmed not knowing how much longer you were gonna be able to last. Bradley could tell that you were fighting to keep going, and he knew what would help you reach the finish line.
"Tastes like berries baby girl." His low voice sends you over the edge as your body starts to crumble. Your ribcage rising and falling with each quick breath. Hands falling down to your side feeling loose and numb. Stomach trembling from the resounding orgasm you just experienced. Your battered cunt was so sore from being stretched and abused over and over again.
Feeling a pair of soft lips gently caressing your thighs and inner knees a trail of saliva being left behind. His mustaches scratching against your skin a shiver running up your spine. Sex was always amazing with Bradley, but the one thing you loved just as much was the aftercare. His touch was always so gentle and comforting as he would help ease you through each orgasm.
"Fucked that pretty pussy so good, didn't I?" His crude language had your thighs twitch, and you loved it all the same. Bradley already knew the answer to the question, but he loved the reactions you would give him just for saying certain words.
"So proud of you my sweet berry." His nickname had you smiling as Bradley pulled you into his arms and laid you on top of his warm body. Listening to the sound of his heart beating, and the rise and fall of his chest was easing you into a slumber like state.
"I'm not done with you yet though baby girl."

Tumblr media
the sirens wailed off in the distance; a sound that signified a job well done on your part. the night was unruly - rain pouring down like the tears on your face when he left you, and the thunder and lighting were crashing down like your world when he told you he couldn't be deal with you anymore.
this is how you made me, you thought to yourself silently, as you watched the car combust into flames from the balcony of an old building in the middle of gotham. that'll show him.
you met jonathan when you were his patient - that's right, he used to be your therapist. ever since you laid eyes on him, you started to fall. hard. you were never really the crazy type - and certainly not the delusional type either, but jonathan knew exactly how to push all your buttons. he did have a phd in psychology, after all.
jonathan was no stranger to insanity - he was the scarecrow, but not many knew of the alter ego he possessed. you sure didn't, and you were clueless to what you were getting yourself into, but so was he.
the taste of his lips were your choice of drug, your fuel, what gave you life. the two of you started off your tumultuous and rocky relationship a little over two years ago. both of you were crazy about each other - unable to keep your hands off one another. slowly but surely, that lovesick craziness turned into actual craziness - bitter arguments, toxic behaviour, gaslighting, abuse - it was driving the both of you to new levels of insanity.
soon, the taste of lips started to make you sick.
after nearly two years of a being together, jonathan decided that he'd had enough. a part of him secretly loved that he was slowly breaking you down; driving you to the brink of insanity, but another part of him hated it. that gorgeous face of yours never failed to make his heart race, but what lied beneath was something that made even the master of fear himself, fearful.
"you're lucky your pretty, you know?" he spat, voice dripping with venom, "it's too bad that inside that pretty little head of yours - you're fucking deranged."
this was the final straw for jonathan. the two of you were having an argument again, and of course, he was the one to start it. he hadn't come home from work when he said he would, and it was almost an hour past 5, which is when he normally returned. understandably, you got worried and decided to fire off some...passionate texts.
you didn't mean to come off as harsh - you were just worried about him, but he didn't take to it too kindly. his loss.
"did you seriously think sending me pictures of you pouring bleach all over my expensive suits would make me want to come home?!" he exasperated, his gaze remaining cold. "and not only that, but you fucking shredded up every other piece of clothing i own, smashed my laptop, and broke every god damn dish in the house - and for what?" he looked exhausted, staring at the broken glass that littered the floor of the apartment.
you looked at him teary-eyed with a pout on your face, "i'm sorry, jonny, i just love you-"
"i love you too, but fuck-" he snaps, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. "i just can't do this anymore, babydoll. i can't." he tells you softly, still using the pet name he always used for you. the look on his face told you everything his words failed to.
"w-what?" you ask, stepping towards him, in which he just stayed still, sighing at the mess around the two of you. "but..."
"i'm sorry, babydoll. i am." he tells you, reaching out hesitantly to hold onto your small hands with a gentle touch, "i don't think i'm good for you - don't think i ever was."
and that's how dr. jonathan crane ended things with you last week - but you were determined that this wasn't the end. you weren't one to back down, that's for sure.
now, you weren't entirely to blame here. actually, you weren't to blame at all. as crazy as jonathan liked to paint you out to be, this truly only started because of him. when the two of you met, you were a different girl; a sweet girl. you had a few boyfriends, never long term, but a few. your previous relationships weren't rocky at all, in fact, they were tame - very tame.
throughout the course of the almost two years that you and jonathan spent together, he was slowly dosing you more and more over time with his fear toxin. now, you thought you were going crazy, but he wasn't going to tell you that he was secretly drugging you - no, don't be silly. instead, he gaslit you into believing that you really were going crazy.
it started with just a drop or two in your juice, or even in your food sometimes - then it escalated to something more, it always did with jonathan. slowly but surely, he would up the dose to three, maybe four...five...six drops, and so on.
the side effects of the toxin being ingested were different to what his fear toxin would do when it was sprayed in a gas form onto his victim. the effects were...gradual. they would sneak up on you when you least suspected it.
it started off innocent - you would see shadows in your peripheral, dark, lanky shadows; they slowly turned into figures. dark, shadowy figures that would linger around. then, the audio hallucinations kicked in. voices, whispers, screams - he was slowly tipping you over the edge.
at this point, you couldn't stop him. you weren't even aware.
sighing, you snap yourself back into reality - enough already with the past. the combustion of flames ripping through jonathans brand new benz made you smile with pure glee. he knew he was a target, you smirk to yourself.
and so you stood there, on the balcony of that old building, in your sleep slip, black and lacy, listening to the sirens sound off. thankfully, the balcony had some sort of covering on it, so it prevented you from getting soaked from the rain. "always looking so beautiful - even when committing the most disgusting acts," jonathan would often say to you - perhaps he was right in that instance.
you were suddenly hyperaware of the sound of tires screeching below you, and you glanced down from the high balcony to see a blacked out car coming to a screeching halt, definitely burning the rubber tires, below you.
you couldn't see who got out of the car, as it was too dark out - the only light offered by the flames coming off your ex-boyfriends car in the distance of the twilight.
"so you're stealing cars now?" you hear a distorted voice come from behind you, and you whip your head around to see a man that you don't recognize - at least not yet.
you take a good look at this man who was dressed sharply, in a suit and tie, and what appeared to be some sort of sweater vest underneath. an ensemble you became all too familiar with. but the one thing you truly didn't recognize was the burlap mask on his face, tattered and a little eerie.
scarecrow.
you had seen this man on the gotham news quite regularly, the gotham pd was always trying to ease the publics nerves by saying they were working "diligently" to try and find the man behind the serial poisonings in the area - whatever that means.
"you're..." you trail off, the cold breeze nipping at your skin and blowing through your soft hair.
"i could kill you right now, you know." the distorted voice says to you in an eerie tone, but you just stare blankly at him. "it's like every time i think, 'she can't any fucking crazier,' you somehow do get crazier."
"yeah well, you're dumb enough to leave your car keys in your office out in the open. you don't see my car getting stolen and bursting into flames, do you?" you say casually, making him scoff. he was a little taken aback that you weren't too phased about him being the scarecrow, but given your track record - that wasn't too shocking.
"but why?" he asks, voice still distorted. you just shrug softly, "i wanted to get your attention."
"you don't have to steal my car and set it aflame to do that, you know." he says, blue eyes still holding a menacing gaze through the small eye holes in the burlap scarecrow mask.
"but i had enough of wanting your love when you never give it to me." you whine, causing him to scoff out a laugh.
"god, you're so fucked up." he tells you.
"you started it." you retaliate, causing him to become still.
"what are you, twelve?" he snaps, and you respond, still calm as ever.
"you're the one playing dress up, loser." you say gesturing to the mask, and you try your hardest not to giggle at your own joke. he just sighs before stepping towards you.
as you were about to mock him for yet another thing, he grabs you by the neck, pulling you towards him, causing you to choke - his grip a little too tight.
"feeling a little bold tonight i see," he says to you, voice seemingly not distorted anymore, "i can't lie, it does something to me - seeing how far you'll go for my love."
you struggle to breathe, unable to form a response. you just claw at the hand wrapped around your neck.
"oh, you poor thing," he coos mockingly, "it's okay, babydoll. you don't have to say it. i love you too."
and with that, he finally released your neck from his unwavering grip. you gasp and cough repeatedly, chest heaving as you try and catch your breath. before you even have a chance to do so, he drags you inside the old building, taking you off the balcony - taking you out of sight.
he tosses the mask into a random corner of the room, disregarding it as he looked at you with a cold stare. "get down on your fucking knees, darling."
you do as your told, sinking down to your knees - which felt cold against the icy, marble floor of the dimly lit room. he wasted no time undoing his belt, pulling his already hard cock out.
he softly taps it against your cheek, then your lips a few times, a smirk painted on his face. "don't you wanna show me how much you love me? i mean, you went through all the trouble, blowing up my car and all..."
you sigh, slowly taking him into your mouth, sucking him off like you have a thousand times before. he instantly groans at the feeling of your warm, wet mouth, and his hand snakes behind your head, grabbing a fistful of your hair.
as you were licking and sucking his cock teasingly, he wasn't having it. jonathan decided that, again, he'd had enough. without warning, he shoved his cock down your throat - setting a brutal pace. you felt yourself gag around his length, tears brimming your eyes as you stared up at him; your mouth stuffed with his cock.
the feeing already had you soaked, and you let him use your pretty mouth the way he pleased. finally, he pulled your mouth off his cock - and you were trying to catch your breath.
"stay on the fucking floor, babydoll." he says to you using a gentle tone despite the words that were coming out of his mouth. "you're such a whore, aren't you? but you're my whore, isn't that right?" he cooed mockingly.
"mm, y-yes. i'm.." you swallow nervously, "your whore."
"that's what i like to hear." he smirks, looking down at you. he kneels down to your level, and wastes no time getting you out of your heels and lace slip, pushing you down on the cold tile.
"face down, ass up, sweetheart." he says to you, tone still soft. hastily, you turn around and arch your back, sticking your ass out. the black lace of your panties wasn't covering much, and he cursed under his breath at the sight.
"fuck," he groaned, "look at that." he softly trails a finger down your clothed cunt - your panties fucking soaked.
you felt his leg between yours, pushing them further apart - and you whimpered. he just laughed softly, pulling your panties down - and you felt the tip of his cock brush up against your folds.
swiftly, he pushed his cock all the way in - giving you no time to adjust. you moaned at the feeling of his cock stretching your tight cunt out, and he let out a shaky breath before he started to move slowly.
"j-jonathan..." you moaned, arching your back even more, "f-fuck, faster please."
"you're so desperate for my cock, aren't you babydoll?" he asks you, suddenly fucking you at a much faster pace, knocking the wind right out of you. "mmph! y-yeah, i-" you couldn't even find the words to finish what you were trying to say, the feeling of his cock pounding your pussy making your head spin.
"that's it, baby. gonna fuck you 'till you can't even think straight anymore, fuuuuuck-" he moans, and you could feel yourself just getting wetter and wetter at his words. "i'm gonna fuck you stupid. you want that?" he asks.
too fucked out to respond, you just whine and moan, begging incoherently, making him groan lowly with a breathy laugh. "mm, thought so."
as he continued to split you open on his cock, you felt yourself getting closer and closer to the edge. "o-oh, i'm gonna cum, fuck- can i cum?" you beg between gasps and moans, and he pulls your head back by your hair, causing you to whine, still impaling you mercilessly with his cock.
"yeah? you wanna cum?" he snarls in your ear, making you dizzy.
"please, let me cum for you." you say back, out of breath and all fucked out.
he keeps your head held up, "y-yeah, cum on my cock, babydoll." he says, stammering slightly as he's getting out of breath from the brutal pace he set while he fucked you, his cock reaching places so deep you didn't know if you were going to be able to walk tomorrow morning.
his words had a way at winding you up - and with a few more deep thrusts you were covering his cock in your cum - and squirting all over the floor. jonathan took in a heavy breath at the sight, "fuck, did you just squirt?" he asks breathlessly, "i need to see this, shit-"
you whine at the feeling of emptiness as he pulls out for a moment, slamming you down on the hard, cold, marble tile as he flips you around so that you're in missionary. grabbing a hold of your hips, he thrusts his cock back into your abused cunt with ease, tip of his cock hitting your cervix deliciously - making you cry out.
"c'mon, put on a show for me, babydoll. you can give me one more, i know you can." he almost pleads you, and within seconds, you're screaming his name out again, the clear liquid pouring out of you for the second time tonight. "fuck!" he says loudly, hips staggering as he fills you with him cum, burying his cock as deep as he could.
after a few more slow thrusts, he stops - still buried deep inside, making sure your fucked out cunt takes every last drop of cum he has to give you.
with one hand, he brushes a strand of your hair out your face, looking at you with...love?
"i know you miss me like i miss you." he whispers, and you nod along. "yeah, i think it's o-obvious." you manage to whimper out, still breathless and dazed from squirting not once - but twice.
"be mine again, babydoll." he says, voice barely a whisper; so quiet you don't think you've heard him properly.
"what's the catch?" you respond calmly.
"...go to therapy." he deadpans, looking at you. "god knows you need it."
you take a moment to think about it, before pulling him into a soft kiss, which he gladly returns. "okay," you tell him, "under one condition."
that got his attention, and he looks at you. "yes, babydoll?" he asks, innocently.
"i need you to understand that the toxin you think i'm oblivious to you slipping into my food and drinks is not what's driving me to insanity," you softly say, causing his head to shoot up, looking at you incredulously as you continue to speak.
"it's you."

The Cat and Dog Game [Chapter 40]
Tumblr media
Genre: Romance, Fluff, Comedy
Pairing: Yunho x Reader (y/n)
Characters: Chef!Reader, RestaurantOwner!Yunho, MaitreD!Hongjoong, Waiter!Yeosang, Waiter!San, Waiter!Mingi, SousChef!Seonghwa, SousChef!Wooyoung, PrepChef!Jongho
Summary: Yunho's dream was to open and run his own restaurant. But he doesn't know anything when it comes to cooking. Until you came along and accepted the job, bringing with you a small crew. How will the black cat tame the energetic golden retriever?
Word count: 3.2K
Chapter warning(s): Heavy chapter. Confrontation and verbal argument from parent, parent threatening to hit child. Overall just confrontation of y/n's childhood so please exerise caution when you read as it can potentially be triggering.
Small time skip...
After another successful dinner service, you stood outside the back door, taking in the fresh air and grounding yourself. The chaos of the kitchen was left behind, allowing you to have some peace and quiet on your own. But you were glad the restaurant was doing really well.
"(y/n)." The voice that called you made your eyes shoot open. You lifted your head and jumped to your feet.
"D-Dad..." You stuttered nervously. Suddenly, you didn't feel like you were on top anymore. You felt like the scared little girl at the mercy of your fierce father.
"H-How did you know where I was?" You asked with a gulp.
"Is that even a question? You're my daughter, of course I know where you work." His eyebrows furrowed.
"Right, sorry. Umm, why did you come here? You could have called me to let me know you were coming or I would have met you outside of work." You fiddled with the edge of your shirt.
"Are you that busy that you need me to inform you prior that I want to meet you?" He asked.
"It's a busy day. I don't have time to just talk." You sighed.
"I am here to discuss with you... all this. (y/n), you don't belong as someone's employee, a cook nonethless. You have the opportunity to take over my company, you have the skills to do so and yet, you choose to be stubborn and rebel against the career course that has been set for you since birth." He cut to the chase.
"Wow, dad. It's the first time you've ever admitted that I have the skills to do anything." You knew that wasn't the main point of his speech but you'd take any win you can.
"(y/n). Be serious. It's been almost a year since you've worked here and there's no progression." He frowned.
"Why do you want me to take over the company so badly? That's the dream you've had for me but it's not my dream." You asked.
"I'd rather have you take over than some random stranger." He crossed his arms.
"You just want me to take over because you would never ask my stepbrother to do it. And also so you won't be embarrassed to tell your friends I am a chef." You pointed out.
"It doesn't matter, (y/n). I've let this go on for long enough. Stop playing and for once, be serious about your future." He lectured.
"You always think that I just treat this like a game. Don't you see dad? This is my life, all the effort, blood and sweat I've poured into this. Would I do that if I wasn't serious? You just refuse to see it." You shook your head.
"I've given you every opportunity to be the best and you choose to work in a kitchen? That's an embarrassment." He scolded.
"I know you're embarrassed of me. You always have been and always will. I'm your flesh and blood. Yet, you'll always think my stepbrother is better than me." You laughed bitterly.
"Because he has real goals and aspirations. He wants to make something of himself." Your dad reasoned.
"Right because anything I do will never match up to him."
"If you do something actually worthy of recognition and praise, of course I will praise you. But so far, you have done nothing worthy of my time." He said.
"I've cooked under some of the best chefs in the world, served the best dishes at some of the most prestigious events. But that's nothing, right? It's not worthy and it never will be." You sighed.
"It's a waste of time and potential." You dad replied.
"Uh, Seonghwa hyung?" Yeosang came to the front where everyone was having drinks and enjoying the air conditioning after being in the stuffy kitchen the whole night. He tapped the older on the shoulder and pointed to the counter. Seonghwa frowned in confusion but moved to speak privately with Yeosang.
"What is it that it must be said in private?" Seonghwa asked.
"I-I was in the locker room and I heard (y/n) outside. She's speaking to someone... I think it's her dad... I didn't mean to eavesdrop but it sounds bad..." Yeosang gulped.
"What?! Her dad is here?" Seonghwa said a little too loudly from the shock. Yunho definitely heard it.
"Thanks, Yeosang." Seonghwa put his drink down and went to the kitchen.
"Yeosang, what's going on?" Yunho asked when Yunho came back.
"Umm, (y/n)'s dad is here... Out back..." Hearing those words come out of his friend's mouth, Yunho was on his feet immediately, rushing to the back door.
"I didn't raise you to be like this." Yunho heard your father scold, making Yunho pause.
"Raise me? How can you say that? Did you raise me at all, dad? When mom got sick, you didn't even visit her and you cast me aside. And when she died, you acted like I died along with her. It's like I became nothing to you..." Tears slipped down your cheeks.
"Your mother always coddled you too much. You needed to grow up and be independent." Your father said.
"How old was I?! I was a kid, dad! It's bad enough I had to watch my mother slowly die. But you abandoned me too! I was alone, I mourned her alone." You yelled in frustration.
"What did you do? Nothing! Oh right, you went out and got married. Brought two strangers into our home." You laughed bitterly.
"They're not strangers. You've been childish and treating them like outsiders from the start." Your father corrected sternly.
"Sorry, I forgot. They're your family. But they're not mine and they will never be. You threw me away so you could start life anew. But what about me?" You asked.
"You still had a roof over your head, food to eat. I hardly think your life was bad." He scoffed.
"Did you even notice that I didn't come home? That I was out there, getting into all sorts of shit, making friends with strangers. I nearly killed myself. If not for Seonghwa, I wouldn't be alive now. But even if I were dead, I guess you wouldn't care, right?" Your words made Yunho's heart clench with pain.
"Let me ask you, dad. Were you even sad that mom died? Did you even love her? Or did you just wait for her to die so you could go find someone new?" You asked in a low voice.
"Why you-"
"Mr (y/l/n)!" Seonghwa yelled out, pulling you behind him in an attempt to shield you and protect you.
"That's enough." Yunho's eyes burned with rage as he held your father's wrist mid air. No one was going to hurt you.
"Don't you dare hurt her. Not on my watch." Yunho glared, seeing how broken you were, barely holding yourself up in Seonghwa's embrace. Your father looked at Yunho in disbelief.
"And who are you? This is none of your business. This is between family, you shouldn't meddle." Your father snatched his wrist away from Yunho's grasp and looked him up and down. Yunho towered over him, making him more intimidating.
"I haven't heard you refer to me as family for YEARS." You sneered at your father.
"If you must know, I'm her boyfriend. Another person that shows her love, care and concern." Yunho growled.
"Wait, you're the owner of this place, aren't you? You're dating the owner? That is highly inappropriate." Your father found another reason to berate you.
"Inappropriate? Inappropriate is you coming here and harrassing her." Yunho glared.
"I'm her father." Your father said.
"And I chased after her to be my girlfriend. Not that it matters. I treasure her for who she is, not like you, forcing her to be someone that she's not." Yunho said.
"Yun, stop. Just... go... dad... There's no way we'll ever mend this relationship. It was gone the moment mom got sick. Let's not kid ourselves. Just go and forget that you've ever had a daughter, okay?" You said, tears just falling down your cheeks.
"I've tried so hard, for so long, to be the person you want me to be. But I'm tired. I can't keep doing this." You shook your head.
"I'll have to ask you to leave the premises right now. You're upsetting my girlfriend." Yunho frowned.
"Fine. Have it your way, (y/n). But when all else fails, don't come crawling back to me and regretting what you've done. Don't forget, you asked for this." Your father said and stormed off.
"It's okay, sweetheart. It's over." Seonghwa hugged you, pulling you to his chest.
"Hwa." You sobbed loudly, letting out wails of despair. It broke Yunho's heart. He wished he could have prevented this from happening.
"My love, it'll be alright." Yunho took over, supporting you in his arms and giving you the tightest hug. Seonghwa continued to rub your back to soothe you.
Seonghwa had wanted to step in the moment he heard your father was here and confronting you. But from the conversation, Seonghwa knew that you needed this. This was the conversation you had been dreading and so afraid of. Finally setting yourself free from your father and the pressure he has put on you.
"Let's get you home." Yunho kissed your forehead.
"Take her home. I'll grab all your things and see you there." Seonghwa said. Yunho nodded and fished out his keys, escorting you to the car and driving off.
"Is (y/n) okay?" San asked worriedly. Wooyoung and Jongho knew Seonghwa's expression said it all.
"She will be. Don't worry." Seonghwa forced a smile, patting San on the shoulder.
"Yunho took her home. I'm just going to grab his things and meet him back at (y/n)'s place." He explained. Mingi helped gather Yunho's things and handed it to Seonghwa to take.
"Have a good night everyone." They wished each other. Only Jongho and Wooyoung lingered behind.
"How bad was it, really?" Jongho asked.
"Bad... But she needed it. I'll tell you guys more tomorrow. Let me get back to her. I'll update you guys on how she's doing." Seonghwa promised, knowing the two were just as worried about you.
Wooyoung hugged Seonghwa before they parted ways. Seonghwa drove his own car while Jongho and Wooyoung rode together. The moment Seonghwa arrived at your place, he went to check on you and saw you fast asleep on Yunho's chest.
"Hey. She was exhausted and fell asleep right after her shower." Yunho said, coming out of the room quietly.
"Thanks. Tonight was a lot, she's probably gonna sleep for a while." Seonghwa rubbed his forehead, the frown on his face evident of the stress he was feeling.
"Hyung... Maybe you should stay tonight. You've been around here longer than I have-"
"Yunho. I've told you, you're here for her too. She needs you as much as she needs me now." Seonghwa patted his shoulder.
"But I feel hopeless because I don't know how to comfort her now. I'm scared I might make the situation worse." Yunho frowned slightly. Seonghwa sighed, falling onto the couch.
"Yeah, all of us weren't prepared for that." He spoke.
"She's told me a lot about her dad a few times and from then, I knew I hated that man, even if I've never met him. But after tonight, it's not even hate anymore. It's beyond that... I..." Yunho was speechless. There was too many emotions in his head that it was a mess, he didn't know what to do.
"I get it. I was like that too when I first saw the real him and how he spoke to (y/n). But hopefully for (y/n), that's the last we'll see of him." Seonghwa shrugged.
"She deserves better than that. I've never seen her so broken before." Yunho shook his head.
"Hey, she'll be okay. I know it's a lot. Unfortunately, I've seen her go through worse." The older comforted with a sad smile.
"I know what you told me, hyung. But after all that you've been through together, I think she really needs you now. And in a way, I think you need her too..." Yunho said honestly.
"She won't make it to work tomorrow. I'll call some people in to help in the kitchen." Seonghwa said.
"Of course. Thanks, hyung." Yunho gave a small smile.
"No problem. I've got to shower first." Seonghwa stood up and went to the bathroom in the guestroom to shower before going to be with you.
Yunho wasn't jealous, not one bit. In fact, he was glad that Seonghwa could be there for you to lean on because he was lost on how to comfort you. He needed to ground himself, collect his emotions. This wasn't about him, this was about you.
"Ah..." Yunho threw his head back as tears of relief, frustration, anger and sadness rolled down his cheeks. But he was quick to wipe them away with his hands.
"Hey, Yunho. Sleep on the bed, I'll take the floor." Seonghwa said, coming out of the guest room while drying his hair.
"Oh, hyung I can't-"
"Just do it. She has a floor futon so don't worry, you're not making me sleep on the cold hard ground." Seonghwa rolled his eyes playfully. Yunho stood up and nodded.
After setting up his futon, Seonghwa stood over your sleeping form. He lifted your hand to kiss the back of it.
"You did it, sweetheart." He whispered. Yunho climbed back into bed and lifted you slightly so he could slide his arm under you.
"It'll be okay. You'll be okay." Yunho whispered against the crown of your head, closing his eyes as he let the even sounds of your breathing lull him to sleep.
It was about 4 am when you shot up from bed. You breathed heavily, leaning your head on your arm tiredly. Glancing back, you saw Yunho fast asleep. And on the ground beside you, Seonghwa was also sleeping. Just the two of them being there calmed your heart down and brought you comfort.
"So it wasn't a dream..." You said to yourself softly. Everything that happened with your dad, happened.
Asking your dad to forget about you was the hardest thing you've ever had to do. Well, other than burying your mother after she died. Not that you relied on him now.
But it meant that you were letting go of your hope for him. Your hope of you and him reconciling, going back to the way things were.
"Hey..." Seonghwa called out to you softly from his futon. You turned your head but it was dark, you couldn't really see him.
"Sorry. Did I wake you?" You asked softly.
"No, you didn't. I've know you long enough to know that you wouldn't be able to sleep for long. Your brain is too active for you." He let out a soft chuckle.
"I feel exhausted. I wish I could turn my brain off, I don't know what I should be feeling now." You sighed.
"You don't have to feel anything, (y/n). You don't have to feel sad about it but at the same time, you don't have to feel liberated and relieved too. It's okay to just be numb after what happened." He reached out to hold your hand.
-
"Seonghwa hyung, maybe you should stay with her. We'll manage for the day." Yunho said as they two were grabbing their jackets to leave.
"Why don't you stay instead? The kitchen crew need me when our leader is down." Seonghwa suggested.
"Are you sure?" Yunho blinked.
"Yeah. Why not? Also, if she wakes up and finds out we gave her the day off, she loves you enough to not kill you. Maybe put you at the edge of death but not kill you." Seonghwa shrugged.
"That is... very reassuring." Yunho gulped. Whiskey let out a meow, nuzzling his body against Seonghwa's foot.
"How do you do it? Black cats just love you." Yunho chuckled.
"You just need to know how to care for them." Seonghwa laughed, getting the underlying meaning or joke behind Yunho's words. He bent down to stroke Whiskey's cheek with the back of his finger and the black cat just ate up all that attention, meowing loudly and licking Seonghwa's finger.
"If she doesn't kill you, let me know how she is. If she does... It was nice knowing you, Yunho." Seonghwa raised his eyebrows and grabbed his keys.
"You're more used to her abuse than I am. Maybe you should stay instead." Yunho said, trailing after him to the door.
"Doesn't mean I enjoy it..." The older pointed out, waving as he left the house.
"Maybe if I have you with me, your mom might inflict less violence on me." Yunho looked down at Whiskey, who blinked back at him and let out a yawn.
"Aww, Whiskey. That was mean. But let's get you some breakfast." He waved the cat over and prepared it's food.
"There." Yunho sat in front of Whiskey, watching him hungrily eat out of the bowl.
"Slow down. No one is going to take it away from you." He chuckled. Yunho hadn't noticed that you were awake, standing in the hallway quietly, watching him talk to Whiskey. It was like those videos of excited golden retrievers bothering their black cat sibling.
"Am I interrupting your bonding time?" You asked. Yunho's head shot to you and he smiled excitedly, stumbling on his feet as he made his way to you.
"Woah, slow down. Don't fall." You had a small smile as he wrapped his arms around you to hug you.
"Please don't kill me for giving you the day off." He mumbled.
"Is that really the first thing you're going to say to me? But you're lucky I'm too emotionally exhausted to be angry with you AND Hwa." You scoffed. Yunho pulled away slightly to look at you.
"I'm glad to hear that." He stroked your cheek, leaning down to plant his lips on yours.
"You should sleep more." He said.
"I don't have you or Hwa with me to lull me to sleep." You giggled. That's all he needed to hear before Yunho held your hand and led you back to bed. You laid your head on Yunho's chest as he stroked your head. Seonghwa was right, you could feel numb from last night and that's okay.
"I don't want to feel anything about last night. I just want to move on with my life like usual." You said honestly.
"Okay. Life as per normal." Yunho agreed. He wasn't going to force you to face your feelings or dig deep into the meaning and significance of what happened.
"Thank you, Yunho. Thank you for being there." You looked at him, tears in your eyes.
"Oh, my love. There's nothing to thank me for. No more tears, hmm?" He gently thumbed away the tears.
"I love you." You said, fingers playing with the ends of his fringe. Yunho was such a big part of your world now. Just like Seonghwa, Wooyoung and Jongho were.
"I love you too." Yunho smiled, wrapping his arms around you to hold you tight. He was never going to let you go.
He couldn't protect you from the verbal abuse of your father last night from that point on, he'll continue to try his best to protect you and shield you from all the other negativities that will come your way. Never again does he want to see you crying and broken.

As far as negotiations went, Cooper had been more than reasonable, given the circumstances, as he attempted to exchange some caps for the chem he needed. Hell, he was even offering a fair enough price as his stash ran low and the constant irritation of having to source new shit pressed at his attentions like a tick burrowing under his skin.
"It's a good deal, boys, and I ain't some fucking housewife who's gonna forget the value of a thing just because some handsome fellas like yourselves are talking to her."
"Listen, mutant-"
"Oh, I listen much better when we're all being respectful now." Cooper interrupted, his voice airy in a very dangerous way. "My associate and I are being nothing but gracious in these here talks."
Having quickly learned it was better to shut up when Cooper was leading a deal, Lucy instead focused on the second dealer as he pulled his attention from the ghoul to focus on her instead.
Since entering, his attention hadn't ever strayed too far from her; flitting beyween her face and her chest as he stared her out. It was repulsive and, given her recent troubles, the focus made her skin itch with discomfort as ghostly memories of harsh hands washed over her.
"Hey!" The dealer spoke to her, voice low and conversational but still loud enough for the other parties to hear him clearly enough. Reaching across the table, he flashed a smile in Lucy's direction as he reached for her arm with a grime-ridden hand. "Just so you know, whatever the mutant here is paying you for a fuck, I'll pay double, and you can enjoy the feeling of a real man agai-"
A sharp scream cut the dealers words off in his throat as a flash of movement saw Cooper introducing the heft of his knife into the back of his approaching hand, pinning the offending limb to the rickety wooden table as only an inch of the blade stood free of his patchy skin.
Chaos reigned for only a few precious seconds as the lead dealer pulled his own weapon free of his pocket - the small, rusted pistol not a patch on the enhanced gun which Cooper was pointing back at his head, accuracy unmistakable as his fingers held still and didn't falter in the slightest.
His hand mauled and bleeding profusely as scarlet dripped freely to the floor, the offending dealer appeared to almost be in shock as his screams died to quick-fire profanities and sharp gasps.
"You fuck! Danny, he fucking stabbed me! Look- look at this shit! My fucking hand, man. Ain't no stimpacks here to fix this, Dan!"
Hand never leaving the hilt of his knife, Cooper tutted out his disapproval as he twisted the blade slightly to draw a fresh cry from his pinned prey.
"The way I see it," Cooper spoke calmly over the screams as his attention never strayed from the leader he were standing off with, "you can tell your man to apologise to the lady or I'll twist this knife until his hand is so mangled even the mutts won't want it. Then I'll cut what's left of his fingers off and shove them down his fucking throat."
Dan, the leader, took the open threat in stride as he held up his palms in a vaguely placating way, a smile not covering the panic in his eyes.
"Okay folks, let's not let things get out of hand. If you let him go, I'll agree to the terms and give you what you want."
Satisfied with that, Cooper pulled the knife free with a raised browbone as he passed it off to Lucy - allowing her to hold the bloodstained blade while his other hand extended out to receive his much needed chem.
"See that, vaultie." Clicking his tongue against his teeth as the vials were gently placed into his palm, Cooper tilted his head enough to the side to catch Lucy's eye. "That's how we deal with dumb fucking manners up here."
More desensitised to the violence than she would like to admit, Lucy rolled her eyes at him as a secret pleasure blossomed in her gut that he had been so quick to defend her. Since their run-in with the human traffickers, his attitude hadn't shifted much - staying as dry and unforgiving as ever - but she had noticed a slight improvement in his rougher edges when it came to any physical touch between them as his hands were noticably more gentle.
And by more gentle, she meant that if he needed her to move he would pull her sharply rather than his previous choice which felt more akin to trying to rip her arm out of its socket. But, improvement was improvement and she respected that by playing her part in moments like this.
He never spoke about the incident, never asked any follow up questions, but the violence he had enacted towards the other half of the traffickers as they descended on their small camp had frightened her as much as it pleased that hateful voice inside her that wanted them to suffer.
She got her wish, that much was clear, and whatever guilt she would have felt was swept away as they later stumbled on the corpses of the 'product' they weren't able to shift. Rotting corpses, some with their hair still intact, all piled nude in a makeshift grave a short walk away from their camp.
Cooper hadn't commented, aside from a slight downturn of his lips, and Lucy was too busy retching off to the side to notice anything else.
That's how we deal with dumb fucking manners up here.
Because of course it was.
x-x-x-x-x
Deal concluded, exploring what remained of the little abandoned town was the last port of call before Cooper demanded that they both moved forward with their goals. The dealers, having slunk off on their merry way, didn't seem to pay them any more mind and Lucy was thankful for it as she entered the swing doors of a building, immediately seeing a bar-like setup.
"Hello?"
Allowing the word to float across the room and recieve no answer, Lucy quickly stepped inside and started looking around. Dust covered almost everything, spreading a thick mat of filth across the various bits of broken furniture, and her mouth settled into a line as she headed straight for the bar. Looking below the shelves, broken bottles littered the wood, the alcohol and liquids within having long since gone rotted or evaporated away so she ignored them for now.
Glancing at the floor, a shattered poster lay, half-tucked beneath a snapped floorboard and her fingers snatched it up out of sheer curiosity. Blowing a plume of dust free, she cleaned what remained with the sharp point of her elbow.
It was a movie poster, framed and practically preserved. The top half almost spotless - the lower half was torn away, the shattered glass having allowed it to weather with time and take any information about the image with it. Looking at the upper part in more detail, it showed a man sitting atop a bale of hay and Lucy peered closely at it.
A tan cowboy hat sat across his head, tilting up towards the sun in the background as a pistol hung lazily between the actors fingers. The words "High Noon Rodeo" were the only pieces of writing visible and they blazed across the top of the poster in a curled red font. A cowboy film. One that she hadn't heard of or seen before, not that the limited showings of old movies that her vault showed as entertainment gave her any kind of general understanding, but she knew well enough to know it was a cowboy film.
Eyes falling to the main actor again, Lucy hummed quietly as she brought the poster closer to her face. He was handsome, that was for sure. Dark hair spilled from a proud forehead, and while his expression was very serious and foreboding, there was an intenseness to his gaze that enthralled her. The clothing was fitted and muted, the colours matching the dusky background well, but her attention kept slipping back to the man's face - a tickle of something familiar knocking at her thoughts.
"Whatcha got there, vaultie?"
Startling with a yelp, Lucy whirled in place to find that Cooper had snuck up on her; his impressive size apparently not that difficult to conceal as he slithered around like a cobra, ready to strike.
"Movie poster." She answered with a smile, excited to share her findings. "Look." She held the poster up between them, careful to splay her fingers to avoid the worst of the shattered glass.
Cooper may have been good as hiding his feelings, but he wasn't completely immune to the odd slip, and surprise widened his eyes and slackened his mouth before his brain caught up with him and he settled his features into a familiar scowl.
"And?" He asked, tone short and irritated. "What good is that shit to us? Came to find you in a bar and I was hoping you were gonna show me a bottle of something I could throw down my throat. Fucking useless bit of tat you have there."
Crestfallen at the sudden aggression in his attitude, Lucy thrust the picture closer towards him as she silently entreated him to look again.
"He's handsome."
A hot discomfort trailed across Cooper's skin as Lucy unwittingly appraised him, a familiar feeling of the world being a giant practical joke on him settling across his shoulders while he rocked on his heels.
"Like I give a fuck about that, but sure, in a way. They don't make 'em like that anymore."
"Have you seen this before? I know you've been around since the bombs went off and you know more about this stuff than I do." Excited, Lucy couldn't hold back her enthusiasm as her wide eyes and batting eyelashes did everything they could to entice him into spilling some knowledge of which she was utterly ignorant. "C'mon, please?"
With an annoyed growl, Cooper met her gaze with his own, holding her eye to show her just how serious he was as he exhaled slowly, as though speaking to someone with mush for brains.
"Put that shit down."
Stupidly brave as ever, Lucy held his eye but Cooper was quick to realise his mistake in allowing her to do so as her brow furrowed for a moment before dropping to the poster and then back to him.
A horrible feeling of realisation trickling down his spine, Cooper visibly flinched as a pitched cry slipped free of Lucy's lips and her hands raised the framed poster so it sat by his face.
"Oh my goodness!" Blinking rapidly as her body seemed to vibrate with her discovery, Lucy grinned. "Holy moly! It's you! This is you! Cooper! The eyes are the same."
An intrusive thought pushed its way into Cooper's considerations as his minds eye conjured up images of just knocking her flat out with the butt of his pistol and leaving her to awaken. When out, he could hide the poster and do his best to convince her that the radiation was finally getting to her head. But, knowing Lucy Maclean, that dipshit brain of hers wouldn't let it go, even under trauma.
"Quite the insightful little vaultie." He countered with an unpleasant smile. "Where's all these brains been hiding at?"
"What was it like?" Still positively thrumming with joy, Lucy couldn't sense the danger in the air as she continued on. "I've seen pictures of the old days, before the war, and it all looked so pretty and bright. You were a movie star! Wow! And so handsome."
Babbling, Cooper waited for her to finish before catching her chin between his thumb and forefinger. The touch steadied her, stalling her words as those big eyes rounded on him.
"It was a miserable fucking experience." He offered, voice so low and intimate that Lucy visibly held her breath to make sure she didn't miss a word. "Nothing but shit and lies. Traitors ready to stab you in the back at the first chance, their knives always out and ready to take another shot as you got back up to your knees. Nothing but a flock of circle jerkers ready to fuck you over at the first get."
The delight in her expression dimming with every passing word, Lucy's eyes grew - if possible - even rounder as she held her ground and let him speak.
"You think this life is bad, sweetheart? You still got so much to learn and I aint a teacher."
His mind lost to the echoes of a previous life, one filled with pain and betrayal - the moments of joy soured by what was to come as he lost everything from his career to his family - it wasn't until Lucy whimpered that he realised just how tightly he was gripping her chin.
Releasing her without apology, Cooper took the poster from her hands and dropped it to the floor; taking great satisfaction in the sound of smashing glass as the last few shards splintered off and skittered across the floor like insects. He turned from her then, a heat in his chest making him angry with himself as he feared he had said too much, and he started to storm off, ready to leave this shithole of a town behind.
"I'm sorry." Her apology were soft, the words carrying despite how small her voice sounded, and he turned to face her once more.
Standing amongst the debris, Cooper felt his irritation spike once more as he took in the sight of her. Even just holding her ground there, her clothing stained and as grimy as his own, she shone like a beacon - her goddamn naive innocence making her stand out from the shit and decay that had rotted and engulfed everything else it touched.
He had been cruel to her. That innocence, amusing at it was upon first meeting, made her a prime candidate for being torn to shreds by the new world she had entered. So necessity had dictated that he be cruel, using her for his own gain as he antagonised her with a sick curiosity; a wicked desire to see just how far the vaultie could be pushed before she either broke under the pressure or adapted to survive.
She was a lost cause until she snapped his finger off with her teeth. There he saw it. That little spark of steel that would see her do what she needed to survive. If she hadn't inadvertently fucked his entire supply of drugs, then he might even have been tempted to keep her for longer until something more pressing came along.
But no, he had sold her and he didn't regret it.
Not even when he lay in his stupor and watched as she dropped the vials of chem by his side, keeping as true to her golden rule as he did to his own.
Lucy Maclean.
A vaultie who wasn't afraid to rip a man's tongue out with her teeth or split his throat when necessity asked for it.
And here she was, apologising for asking him a few questions, the guilt on her face making the small voice within him that still criticised his more monstrous actions feel like shit for grabbing her so roughly.
The Ghoul would treat a woman like that, Cooper Howard, not so much.
"Sorry for what? Asking some questions?" He tilted his head at her, regarding her once more before continuing to leave. "Save apologies for the things that matter, sweetie." He shouted over his shoulder.
Allowing him a slight headstart as her mind whirled with what the hell had just happened, Lucy pushed down the guilt she felt at how badly he had reacted to being reminded of his former life. She hadn't thought about it. About how painful it must be to have something nice and then end up...well, end up like him.
Dropping to one knee, she carefully pulled the poster free of the now-fully shattered frame. Her finger were dexterous as they ripped the paper, a ragged line tearing across the poster until all that remained was the image of the cowboy.
Cooper.
Lucy folded the paper carefully and slipped it within her pocket, a wicked sense of naughtiness making her smile as she kept her little secret away from her grumpy companion.
Maybe one day she'd ask him more about it.
Especially since, despite the mutations and the attitude that was utterly grim, she could still see the lingering handsomeness in his face. The missing nose was easily looked past and his face, as pitted and marked as the rugged landscape which held true on every nearby horizon, still held much of the same shape.
And the eyes.
She'd asked him for sex once, hasn't asked since, and one of the leading factors in that choice had been his eyes - the intensity of them having left her a shuddering mess on more than once occasion as she found herself pinned by his glance alone.
Staring at the exit which Cooper had recently vacated through, Lucy attempted to shove the thoughts from her mind as she made a quick start to scarper after him - not trusting the ghoul to wait for her for too long.

Mi Pesadilla
pairing: Wednesday Addams! x Fem Reader!
summary: Wednesday's regretting pushing you away.
A/N: hello! Zy here, I have no idea why I'm entertaining this fascination of mine but alas, here I am. First actual post on my tumblr btw! This is a third pov, but the bold italics are wednesdays pov/thoughts! This is just a drabble! Anyways, I hope you enjoy this tho! (dunno if someone's done this already, this was just a thought of mine, also, I cannot believe I forgot a summary ab this..)
Warnings!: Angsty, implied suic*de/de*th, and my writing skills.
Tumblr media
Wednesday felt as though she was in a nightmare. A bad nightmare, perhaps? She felt conflicted, confused and in denial. Where have you gone? She wasn't losing her mind, was she? Maybe because she felt numb. Maybe because of the suffocation she's embracing around her. Too isolated. Too misunderstood.
"Miss Addams. I'd advise you to head to your shared room, now please."
Why was Weems sending me away? Does she not trust I wouldn't faint? I live for the pain of others, she should know better than that already.
"Miss Y/L/N will be assisted to the infirmary. Don't worry further, she'll be alright, go on Miss Addams."
Or, she could feel how Wednesday would act when she had seen you on that death bed, that might be the case she's sending her away. Too vulnerable to even comprehend. She needed to talk to you, so badly. She needed to apologize, to talk it out with you, to tell you.. She had ached for you all these weeks. She didn't mean to push you away, no. She was a coward. A wimp, was what she was. Her never ending pride, her untouchable ego, led her to this.
It's been four days, 14 hours and 16 seconds. She doesn't know why she counted, perhaps she had only ached for you more with every passing second. She'd lie through her teeth that she didn't, that she doesn't. But, every night she sprawled on her bed, thinking about you.
Possibly, it could've been your foolish smile keeping her up, keeping her on her toes to the very least. Your complete senseless brain, it could've been your playful banter together, it could've been anything. It just had to lead to you.
Why are you such a complete idiot.
Continuous beeps of the monitor go off. Every beat of those beeps sends a bolt of relief to Wednesday, at least she knows you're breathing. Even so, she'd keep track of how long the beeping goes off. She yearns for your touch, she yearns for you.
"Wake up, you baboon. I'll kill you a second time if you don't... I- ".
I miss you..
Hands well kept on top of her thighs, she made no move to have held your cold, wrinkling hands, what once looked so lively and warm. She needed you back into her life. Her exhales, her rigid breathing, she felt as if she was hyperventilating. Maybe she was meant to be here, with you. As long as it was with you, she made no complaints, no backhanded comments, nothing that would've hurt you. Not anymore. She'll make sure of it.
"W- ..Wednesday?"
She couldn't feel how her eyebrows knitted together, almost as if she couldn't believe you were.. Calling for her, with what seemed to be a cry for help, a cry for her attention, a cry for her touch. Oh, how she caved from the way you called her name like that. Every time you did, she'd curse upon such a feeling you had caused her. Gosh, she loathed loved you.
"I'll kill you if you decide to leave like that again."
...
"Never again, Mi Pesadilla."
A/N: omgg this was pretty rushed. And again, my first ever post in this account. I apologise for the mistakes! 'Mi Pesadilla - My Nightmare'

family dinner l vincent renzi x reader
Tumblr media
summary: your kids don't want to eat your food and vincent comes to the rescue word count: 2.6k content: female reader, no mention of skin color, hair or apparence, no use of y/n, maternity, food, kids being kids note: a short and quickly made story to thank you all for "my love mine all mine" good reception! omg 100 notes what a honor!!! from now on, word count will only increase :')
The table was set, but there were still two things left for dinner to be complete, one of which was Brigitte's food choice.
“My sweetie pie, would you rather have carrot or potato?” She asked the beautiful baby girl on her lap, pointing to the two options inside the kitchen cabinet. The baby, who had her head resting on her mother's shoulder, quickly stood up with interest in the bright colors inside the cabinet and was ready to stretch her hand to try to pull something out.
“It's too heavy for you, Brie. If you try to pick it up, you’ll drop it on the floor and make a mess for mommy to clean.” The mother warned, kinda hoping that her daughter would understand and stop reaching out to grab everything she saw in front of her, which didn't happen. Brigitte was in a pointing at everything phase and loved to knock things out, specially the ones that break.
With her eyes shining, the baby now bounced in her arms, excited as she recognized the jars in front of her as her baby food.
“Gu.” She tried to say, still pointing forward at the cabinet, but now looking at her mother, hoping she would understand what she was saying.
And she understood, just as she understood all of her daughter's almost words. “That’s it, my love. Food!" The older one repeated correctly so that Brigitte could repeat and learn. “Say it again: food. Fooood.”
But the baby was not interested in learning to talk, she was hungry and continued to push her weight towards the closet. Not wanting to take more long with it, her mother gave up and decided that Brie chose the potato flavor since that was the direction she pointed to. She placed the baby in her high chair and started to feed her.
Not long after the third spoonful, her restlessness began again and her pointing habit returned. She was completely uninterested in the spoon in front of her face and kept pointing to her brother's plate at the other side of the table.
“You can’t eat that, it’s your brother’s. Babies like you drink milk and eat baby food.” Mom said, pushing the spoon closer to her face.
But Brie wasn't caring about her food anymore. She was hungry but for the only thing she couldn’t eat: her brother’s food.
“You wanted it two minutes ago! How can you change so quickly?” Said her mom trying to laugh at the situation. The baby just kept trying to leave the high chair to crawl the table while the mom kept putting her down. “Can’t you eat at least two more spoons? For me?”
She tried to bargain, however Brie didn’t care.
“Baaaa.” Babbled the baby, in her way of saying “brother” and showing again her desire to whatever he was eating. But luckily for Brie, at that moment her mother noticed her son and how he was not eating too.
Little Vincent's plate was also full, even though she had put it down more than 10 minutes ago, right before looking for Brie’s food at the cabinet. The little boy was always the first to finish, looking forward to the rule that he could only eat dessert after cleaning his plate. Now, even with a pudding (something he loves) waiting to be devoured, he didn't want to eat the main plate.
“Vinnie, your food it’s getting cold.” She pointed out, turning towards her son to also give him attention. “Is there something wrong?”
“I do not like this.” The 4 year old said in a soft voice, almost embarrassed to speak out loud and upset his mother.
The woman, not understanding, insisted. “It’s made from cheese. You like cheese!"
“But I don’t like this one.” He pushed the plate away lightly and placed his little elbows on the table, frustrated, probably understanding that he won’t be able to eat pudding today.
“But I've never made soufflé before and you didn't touch the food. How do you know you don’t like it?”
“It looks ugly so I don’t like it.” He said pouting.
“Baby, it doesn’t look ugly!” She gave an uncomfortable laugh, not wanting to belittle her own creation, but she understood that it was paler and smaller than it really should be. “At least not that ugly.”
The front door opened before she could say something and the second thing missing from dinner appeared. Vincent entered quickly, leaving his coat and briefcase on a table next to the front door. He looked very tired and sweaty, but he kept a smile on his face for his family.
“Hello, reasons for my happiness.” That was the first thing he said as he approached the dinner table. He squeezed Brie's cheeks, gaining a smile with her little baby teeth from her and her arms thrown in his direction, asking to be picked up, which he couldn't resist to say no.
“Daddy!” Said little Vinnie, leaving the table and his sad face to hug his father's leg.
“Hey, champ.” With his free arm, Vincent got his son up too, kissing his forehead and shaking him a bit to get some giggles, putting him down again. Now for his wife, he gave her a quick kiss on the lips (gaining a “bleh” sound from their son) and sat down in front of her.
“Sorry for being late for dinner. You won’t believe the case that came to me today. I had to drive to meet a friend and… Well, I won’t talk about the details in front of the kids.”
She gave him a weak but happy smile, looking a little tired but trying not to dampen the mood. “It’s okay. We kinda just started.”
She started to put her food down on her plate, since Vincent arrived and could help her with the kids.
Already noticing there was something wrong, he continued on to a subject that might please her. “What did you do for dinner today, babe?” Even with everything on the table, he asked his wife to answer, as she loved talking about her attempts in the kitchen.
Most of the days, Vincent was the one cooking at home and she only made the most basic parts or simplest foods. Her husband has always been a handyman in the kitchen and prepared one thing tastier than another. Often, he would make some preparations on the weekend so that they could eat for the rest of the week, but as his work schedule was busy that month, his wife tried to cook something new to make his life easier.
Unfortunately, she wasn’t known for her cooking skills and that’s why Vincent took care of that part.
But after becoming a mom, she decided she wanted to cook more for her children and today’s experience was not the best.
“Soufflé au fromage. My mom called today and we talked about things I liked when I was a kid and after finding out what soufflé was, I wanted to eat it everyday, all the time. So I decided to make one for us.” Said sitting on the table again.
“Aw, that’s really sweet of you, babe. I didn’t know that.” He stretched forward to hold his wife’s hand, giving it a little squeeze. “But why do I feel there’s something wrong?”
She sighed, throwing herself back and pretending to melt on her seat. “Your kids.”
“What did my little rascals do? ‘Cause they’re only mine if they’re bad behaving.” Vincent said with a teasing smile, managing to get a grin from her too.
No matter how frustrated she could get in any type of situation, Vincent never needed to say or do much to make her forget her problems. His jokes or reassuring words always made her believe she could get out of any bad mood. That’s kind of his thing.
“I’m starting to believe they are plotting against me.”
“No, they would never plot against you without inviting me.” He jokingly said, giving her hand another squeeze and smiling at her. “Let’s start with this cute baby here. What’s the problem?”
“She forgot her teeths are still little and wants to eat the soufflé she can’t have.”
Vincent started to shake his leg up and down to bounce the baby, who began to giggle happily.
“That’s always a thing with her, huh? But that’s the secret. She always wants something she can’t have.” He proceeded to reach for the baby food in her seat and put it in front of them on the table. He filled the spoon the most he could and pretended to eat, opening his mouth and passing the spoon right next to his cheek. “So good. Let me get more.”
It didn't take long for this to attract the little girl's attention and she began to pull her father's arm, interested in what he was doing.
One spoonful after another, Brie was completely interested in finishing her meal and Vincent placed her back in her baby seat to move on to the other question.
“You make it seem so easy.” Said his wife in disbelief, still shocked with his efficiency to solve the problem.
“You deal with worse situations than this all day. That’s nothing.”
With their one year old in diapers and their four year old potty training, he could only imagine how her day went being a stay home mom.
At this point, Vincent got up from his chair and went in direction to his son, picking him up from his seat and showering him with kisses. “What about this young gentleman here? Huh?”
“I’m innocent.” Said Vinnie making one of his cutest faces to appeal to his father, who just laughed along.
“That’s something a bad guy would say.” Replied the lawyer.
Brie was a very predictable girl. She is curious, likes to investigate the house and poke at everything in front of her, so assuming that she would want something "forbidden" was easy. Vinnie was a different story. When he puts his foot down, he won't change for anything. He also knows his parents are light hearted and usually goes along with his wishes.
“He also refuses to eat.”
“But I don’t like it!” Vinnie stated with a sullen face.
“Have you tried?” Vincent asked his son, to which Vinnie replied shaking his head no. “Then you don’t know what you’re missing! Soufflés are actually very good, especially the type your mom made. You’ll never know if you don’t try it.”
“Then I’ll never know.” The little boy shrugged.
Mrs. Renzi couldn’t resist but burst into a laugh, not believing what the 4 year old was saying. “He got your sharp tone.” Said pointing to Vincent, who provoked her by sticking out his tongue.
Vincent took the spoon and tried to feed the kid too, earning grunts and "no's" from him. “You’re growing and you need to eat to be big and strong! Just like your dad.”
“Can’t I just eat beef? I like beef. I don’t want to like anything else.”
This case was lost and the only thing he could do was accept it. Vincent looked at his wife, who just shrugged, satisfied that at least they got 1-2.
“It’s okay, we won’t insist anymore. But mommy worked hard to prepare this meal, be grateful for her efforts.”
Vincent released the child, who ran towards his mother and apologized for his behavior, promising he wouldn't do it again. “Sorry again, mommy.”
“It’s okay, my baby. I’m not mad.”
She made a move to get up, with the idea that she would make the steak for her son, but Vincent put her down, kissing her forehead and assuring her that he would take care of it.
“Let me do it. You need to relax a bit. Finish your food.”
Once again, she picked up her fork and now could finally eat.
-
After the difficult dinner, the Renzi family sat in the living room to finally enjoy dessert. Lucky for them, the pudding had come straight from the market and the woman had no involvement in its preparation.
For family time, they watched Frédéric Anton scolding the Masterchef chefs for their mistakes. A very educational program for them.
“It was terrible, wasn’t it?” She asked Vincent as soon as he sat down, kinda already knowing the answer. Vincent took a little more to eat since he had to prepare a different dish for his son and at that point, his wife was already cleaning Brie in the bathroom, so she couldn’t see his face eating the food first hand.
He wrapped his arm around his wife, shaking his head. “It’s not terrible. I would never use that world.”
“Then you love it?”
“Love, love…” He looked away with a small smile on his face, a little unsure of what to say. “Love I only have for you.”
Rubbing herself a little closer to Vincent's embrace, she felt the response was enough. “Good answer. I’ll let it slide.”
The two were finally having a moment together (with Brie off to the side drinking a milk bottle and Vinnie distracted by the television and the pudding, sitting on the floor). Vincent kissed her cheek and then her mouth, hugging her body against his and finally enjoying the warmth of her body. She also couldn't resist his touch and her body was completely relaxed, feeling light and untroubled to be next to him.
But they had children, so it couldn’t last long, of course.
“Mommy, I want to eat that.” Vinnie pointed to the television that was showing this week’s challenge, which was a carbonara dish made from scratch. He jumped up and down, excited “Mommy, can we eat this pasta tomorrow? Please, please, please!”
“I bet your dad knows how to do it.” She replied to take away her responsibility for this work. “How about asking daddy to prepare it? Tomorrow is his day off, he will have time to cook this for us.”
“We can prepare together, like the chefs on television. Look!” He pointed once again to the TV and ran to the sofa, jumping between his parents. “It'll be fine, won't it? If we do it together…”
It was his way to say again that he was sorry for not liking her food and how he had hope for her cooking skills. She felt relieved and really loved, with Vincent by her side also giving her support. There was no plot against her, after all.
“Sorry again, mommy. I like your food sometimes.”
“I can sleep with that.” Said jokingly.  “Okay, we’ll do it.”
Little Vincent offered her a well accepted hug, followed by big Vincent joining too. She already anticipated that it would not go right on her part and carbonara would turn into carburnara, but to have her children and husband next to her, believing she could do it, she felt like she could make a thousand mistakes, ‘cause they would still be there waiting for another try.
“I can't wait to try this dish.” Vincent said out loud.
“No, daddy. I said I want to eat so it's just for me. You’ll only help because you’re an adult. Stated the young boy.
“You won’t give me even a small, small piece?” Vincent asked, pretending disbelief.
“No!” Vinnie said laughing and running across the sofa to get to Brigitte, now on his mother's lap. “Maybe I'll share it with Brie because she's cute. But only with her.”
Vincent, offended by his son's selfishness, started tickling him and his wife took the opportunity to tickle Brie too, leaving the room filled with laughter.
Food really brought people together. Especially the Renzi family.

Somebody that I used to know.
Request made by @white-00-7
Pairing: Alastor x Fem!reader Summary: Old friends turned into lovers under very distressing situations. Warning: Blood, Adam, violence.
Tumblr media
After the Axe-man terrified the streets of New Orleans, there was the butcher of the bayou. A cannibalistic maniac, known to left no “crumbs” of their victims, so to speak. You knew that by being hunting season, he may be on the woods alongside you, what you didn’t counted on was the creep following you, rifle in hand.
A rustle was heard in between the bushes, you aimed at the bush with confidence, thinking it was probably a deer or a duck at least, the creep making haste to do the same, to your head. “Come out, come out” you whispered to yourself, seeing brown hair and antlers, there you shoot.
But the thud was lighter than a deer’s.
Moving the bush you saw a smiling man, “Holy shit!, no, sir, I’m so sorry, don’t die, help please!” you cried out, but as you turned around the lights were off as well. The sound of the trigger on the creep’s rifle was the last thing you heard.
The free fall was the least of it, but speaking of thousands of meters high, one does not think about the fall but rather the impact. However, it wasn't so hard for you, for the poor bastard under you, it was.
"Get off me!" he managed to throw you off his back, “I’m sorry, I didn’t meant to land on you” he dusted himself off as he regained his composure, clearing his voice when he noticed you were a woman.
“No, I apologize dear, here, let me help” He offered his clawed hand to yours, only by then both realized they didn’t looked like humans no more, “Interesting” he muttered, pulling gently on your arm.
He was looking at his new self when he heard a sudden laugh, “What’s so funny?” he questioned, then you pointed at yours and his little tail, “They’re so fluffy” he wasn’t so enchanted by the cutesy fact.
He was a deer, a white back at that. You on the other hand were a red one. A stag and a doe, how fitting both lifestyles of pride, more than anything.
“Why are you down here, dear?” you thought about it for a second, pride and rebellion was your first thought, then your taxidermy hobbies, “All I can think off is that poor man I killed as of a few minutes now, I mistook him for a…deer” he took a second to think about it, the click that made him stand up was a riffle trigger, your weapon.
He laughed, "You killed me," he continued his laughter, he took your arm to start walking towards the city, "I must say, my dear, that of all the evils in this world, you are the only thing I didn't think would send me to hell" It still made him laugh, "And it's even funnier that they killed you almost at the same time you killed me, life is a great irony" he smiled, one of the sweetest smiles he gifted you.
Now, don’t get him wrong, he was mad out of his mind, also slightly scared, not that he would admit that. Though the warmth of your arm linked with his brought him an anchor like feeling.
After a few years of living together, Alastor disappeared without warning. "I will become stronger, soon the citizens of hell will know of my power” He used to take his place at your side and daydream about greatness and have everyone's respect, more fear than respect though.
“I will be able to protect you" that sentence lived rent free in your head, his voice a mere echo in your memories, after seven years you almost didn’t remembered his face anymore.
Alastor took care of the most bloodthirsty so that you didn't have to, without him there, you had to take measures into your own hands. The Pride Ring came to know you as one of the best snipers, the Overlord Ghost Shot, your elemental power to control the air could make your bullets fly up to lightspeed, also take away the oxygen off your enemies lungs.
You build up a company off the souls you began to own, you provided the fabrics that boosted businesses like Velvette’s or Rosie’s, known for the good quality and resistance. You didn’t worried yourself with planned obsolescence, there’s always a new design and a new trendy style that makes people keep buying.
And giving the amount of violence, clothes get ruin almost every day, Never in all the years you have been in hell have you been short of money, you managed to get a suite apartment in your own district, near the Morningstar district.
Eighty-four years of having Alastor by your side, and he just disappeared like he didn't care. Not a note, telegram, letter, anything in 7 years.
Until one afternoon when you received an invitation to an emergency meeting, it seems that Adam the first man brought forward the extermination half the time, having six months of preparation. Not one year you’ve lost a soul, but you weren’t going to start now.
“Asano, I need you to begin the preparations of the bunker, the winged rats will come down on us sooner than anticipated” you had souls knocking on your door, practically begging to make deals with you, giving that in exchange of their souls you provided safety, free housing, and a quality of life no other overlord did.
Although at the beginning some sinners wanted to abuse your good will, since you are a deer demon they tend to look down on you. They didn't find it funny anymore when they started to suffocate. Word on the street is that the air gets thicker when you’re in the room.
“I have the technical revision of my company Milla, if your plan is to arm yourself to fend off the attack don’t count on me, I have bigger priorities” Carmilla was one of your dearests friends, you made her gears laced with angelic steal fibers, and in return she updated your riffle, also gave you bullets made of angelic steal.
“I’m not saying we should, all we need is brainstorm a plan to lose as few souls as possible” she heard you made a pensative hum as she watched the overlords take their seats on the table, “You don’t wish to hide like we do, though you’ve lost more souls than I have over the years, so, do whatever you think is best, I’ll help if you want to listen for once” you hung up before Carmilla made herself aware of Alastor’s return.
You didn’t owned a television, so Vox’s lovers spat never reached your way, and on the streets of your district no one really cared of other overlords, knowing they were under your wing.
"Y/n dear, how about you stop by the tower? They opened a new cafe on the corner, I bought cream cake and the tea that you like, it’s been a while since I saw you" said the letter that you received along with a new cell phone, Vox was more like a stone among the demons that courted you, and even though you sent his electronic junk broken back to his office, he didn't stop insisting.
“I’m so glad you came, how are your preparations for the extermination?” you brought the tea cup up to your lips, “It has been rather sudden; however I have managed to mobilize things on time, how about you?" he cut up a piece of cake, just as big as he knew you liked, “Oh we are fine, we aren’t the target anyway” your ears perked up in interest, his grin grew bigger on his face as he noticed.
“The princess is trying to redeem sinners, have you heard?” you nodded, “The Radio Demon is helping, but as useless as he is-” you began laughing, “The Radio Demon? What kind of pompous prick is named like that?” then sipped on the tea, “You know, Alastor” but as soon as he uttered that name, you choked on your tea and stormed out of his office.
And thank goodness, the air was too thick to breathe, Vox was having issues with it until you left.
“Mimzy, we know you’re in there you lousy bitch!” you heard the loan shark yell towards the  ‘Hazbin Hotel’, trying to knock the door down with a pry bar. “Gentleman, you’re in my way” you spoke, seeing a green glow wrapped the building.
“Not to mess with the Radio Demon!” taking another puff of your cigarette you watched the ten stories tall face of a man you used to know. A smile you didn’t recognized, stitched on the sides, holding his smile up. As soon as he finished eating the sharks he stopped on his tracks, merely centimeters away from your body.
“Y/n?” his distorted voice spoke in utter disbelief, “Good day Alastor, it’s been many moons, don’t you think?” He was frozen, the cute little deer girl he left all those years ago was nowhere to be seen. Replaced by a woman, wearing a dark black attire and tired eyes.
"Y/n, long time no see" he had to shift his voice a little, Charlie and the rest were right behind him inside the hotel. His chirp tone making it seem like he didn't disappeared at all, was a direct stab to your heart.
"You look..." you didn't know anymore, "Different" eyeing him from top to bottom with a disgust grimace in your face hurt him beyond his understanding, "Yes well, I told you I would get stronger" his eyes were different, they were empty.
"I see that, have a good day" you turned around in your heels ready to walk away from the place, "Y/n wait, that's it?" He was hurt? Why did he felt the audacity to pretend to be the victim when you were left behind.
"What else you want me to say?" Since he left, you stopped being joyful, the killing and the merciless torture you went through did that, and it was all his fault.
"A warmer welcome would be nice" you took out your rifle then shoot his shoulder with a dull bullet, "Warmer than that?" It didn't bleed but it hurt, so much it made Alastor take a few steps back.
"Alastor!" The princess cried out for him, "What do you think you're doing?!" Her little horns and red eyes made you snicker a little, "Is this what you've been doing all these years? Help this little girl with her hotel?" Alastor stood up, making seem as it didn't hurt at all, "Now, now Charlie, all is fine, no damage done" she tried to worry about him but it was no use, "Who is Alastor to you?" She asked you, distorted voice and hair flaring.
Alastor had his eyes on you specially when you locked on his dials flashing on and off, "Someone I used to know” the pain was real that time, Alastor didn’t even try to hide it, “Y/n please, let me explain” a small laugh escaped your lips, the first smile he saw from you in a while.
“Not a note, letter, smoke signal, nothing in seven years” he tried to make up an excuse, but you didn’t let him speak, “I had to find out from Vox, and as distasteful as he is, at least is a true friend to be in touch at least three times a week” the fact he told you sent a holy bullet up on his pride, “I can’t explain” he went again.
“I-don’t-FUCKING-care” you accentuated every word, “Woah, what is going on here?” the one and the only Lucifer Morningstar came next to his daughter, wondering wat was taking her so long after she ran out.
“They know each other” Charlie waved her hand in between the two. “Lover’s spat?” he inquired mockingly, which you replied with a straightforward and cold “No” making the devil choke on some saliva, “Makes sense though, with a face like that” when Lucifer turned his eyes from Alastor to you he saw the end of your rifle, “First one is a dull, will hurt, the second a holy one, apologize” internally Lucifer applauded your bravery, so with a smile that reached his ears he uttered “I’m sorry Alastor, I didn’t meant to bring out the obvious”.
He made you smile, “Good enough” you put the rifle strap over your shoulder again, “I’m not going to apologize for that, by the way” he didn’t expected you to.
Alastor watched the scene with jealousy, as in less than two seconds of interaction you received Lucifer in a better way than him, you even smiled at him better than him. If he had a reason to be angry that was one. When you turned your head he noticed a burn on your neck, then he went down and saw the scars on your hands, maybe how many more marks you had on your body, experiences  that took away the innocent friend he used to have.
"You're thin, you don't eat enough or what? What happened to your teeth?" you started making questions that made Alastor sweat, “What is this Radio Demon shit? Who do you think you are, huh?" “Somone that will take you down if you keep at it” “Baby, we’re not at the same level, you are the lowest of the overlords”
“She’s right” “I haven’t lost a single soul in all these years, I can steal air from your lungs by just wanting it” he started feeling at loss of breath, his lungs compressed forcefully searching for oxygen, “I offered you my life, my time, my love” you straightened his bow tie, ignoring Charlie’s pleas for you to stop hurting him, “And you just kissed me, and early in the morning after, you took off, seven years without a single signal you were alive”.
“And now I find out that you’ve been here for five months already, not even once you tried to reach me” your hands palmed his chest slowly, your warmth poring through his clothes, “I have my territory delimited by a black line, if you cross it, I won’t be so nice as I am now” you hovered your lips over his, returning the air down his throat.
Lucifer whistled an impressed tune, “Y/n please, I can explain” he heard Alastor breathing rapidly, getting off Charlie’s support to try to get you, his knees stopping on their tracks due to the lack of strength left, “Y/n right? He looks like he wants to make things right, please give him a chance” she plead, it getting to your head very quickly, damn that puppy face.
“Y/n please, tea and tea” he dared to say, bringing Lucifer’s attention, “What’s that?” he looked your way for an explanation, “It’s where we drink tea and talk” you thought about it for a second then looked at his eyes once more, “Someday, not today, you seem preoccupied” with that you took your leave, feeling your heart heavy and lonesome as you did.
It wasn’t until Extermination day, that from your balcony you saw the horde of angels drop on the hotel, immediately seeing the flow of Alastor’s dark magic being shattered by Adam. Almost out of instinct you ensembled your long distance sniper rifle, setting it on the edge of the rail, waiting for a perfect angle to make the winged rat fall.
Suddenly Alastor few against the edge of the building, that’s when you shot, the bullet piercing the base of both of Adam’s wings, making him wince and drop against the ceiling in pain.
“Radio ain’t dead until I say so, asshole” you allowed wind to take your message, prepping another bullet in the chamber, aiming directly at his head, “Freaky face has a girlfriend?” he joked to pass a little of the pain, “Y/n?” Alastor whispered to himself, feeling the air shift around him, his body reappearing beside you after a swirl of air teleported him.
“When I get my hands on you-“ you didn’t let Adam finish, shooting the joint of his shoulder, leaving useless his dominant arm. “Y/n” that’s all Alastor could utter, seeing you so beautifully concentrated in your aim, “You think I’ll spoil it for Lucifer if I shoot him dead?” you gave Adam a warning shot on the leg, the next one being a holy one.
“Good riddance either way, mon coeur” he had carefully stood up, supporting his weight with a hand on the railing and another around your waist, “Oh never mind, six wings is beating the shit out of him now” you said a tad disappointed since your game ended, feeling Alastor hiss at his wound.
“Don’t touch it, let’s go, I’ll help” you sat him on your bed, helping him discard his clothes. “I’m sorry for leaving like that” he sounded so sad and weak, he was deeply angry at himself for how blind he was, for taking you for granted and abandoning you without explanations.
“It doesn’t matter anymore” you made haste to patch up the wound as best as you could, but there was so much blood blocking your way, “Y/n, please forgive me” he pleads as you try your best to stitch the would close, “Why do you care so much whether if I forgive you or not?” he cupped your face, a tenderness unknown for you, uncommon of him.
He wasn’t used to be gentle, not desiring to rip your flesh apart was new to him. Instead there was this fire that warmed him up from the tip of his ears to the tip of his hooves, “Because…I love you” that word felt right, as his hands  brought your hips closer to him, his thighs on each side of your knees, “The moment to say that, was seven years ago” you allowed your powers to wrapped his bandages in a perfect way, “I can make it up to you” he could think of a thousand ways to bring you back to him, unsure if in the way you were now, any of those would work, but he had the rest of eternity to find out.
“And who assures me that you won't disappear again? I felt so alone without you” his hands pulled down your hips, seating you on his leg, “Me, I promise you I’m not leaving you again, I can’t” you laughed, hands on his bare shoulders, feeling the thin layer of fur.
“Is it because now I’m powerful?” he didn’t expected you to think different of him, he couldn’t blame you, “No, because I cannot breathe without you, I missed you very much, mon amour” seven years of you in his mind, haunting him, missing the warm spot in his bed, refusing to sleep at all if it wasn’t with you.
“Please my love, my moon, my sun, my everything, let me rectify my wrongs” a chill it enveloped your entire body, “Or let your gun finish what you started” he reminded you of your set of words of earlier, his smile relaxed and lovely, “If you ever dare to abandon me again, I’ll prove that you in fact can die twice” your hissing at the last word made him sigh happily, then he moved to place a kiss on your cheek, inhaling your scent.
“You’re hurt” you whispered when his kiss traveled down to your neck, “I know, but I can bare it” you plead that he took a small time to rest, but he kept tightening his arm on your waist, then the other on the back of your neck.
When he licked the underside of your neck up to your chin, he suddenly winced, proving your point, “How about we try something else?” you saw him grin, he only did that when he had something on his head, “William found the bath a while ago” you saw the slippery friend crawl up the wall, a proud smile on his face.
“You sent him to draw a bath?” he chuckled, “I remembered it was something you fancied, the morning after us…” he remembered, you told him you wanted to wash his hair in the morning, but he left before even giving you an answer, “You know that means I’ll have to touch you?” his ears pinned down on his head so he could nuzzle against your neck, “Ever since that day, I’ve craved no one’s touch, just yours”.
His grin grew when he felt a certain movement against his forearm, “Damn thing” you cursed, “You’re not the only one” he was wagging his life off, he guided your hand to his lower back so you could feel him, “Sappy old man” you kissed his lips, “You’re not that younger than me” he continued the loving gesture, “The water will get cold” you heard the shadow groan thinking his efforts will go to waste.
“Let’s get to it then” you spent the rest of the night in each other’s arms, Alastor nearly passed out when you were massaging his scalp with the lovely scented shampoo, you told him you were never going to stop bragging about it. Then when it was your turn to get pampered, he couldn’t stop himself from kissing your shoulders, the back of your neck, arms, every piece of skin he could.
His hands just as yours were free to roam around, both delighting in the ministrations, to the point only moans of satisfaction were echoing in the bathroom.
“Just so you know, if you have a significant other, he’s dead, you’re mine now” you giggled at his possessive nature, now both dry but still naked on the bed, “Good thing I ended that relationship months ago” you sassed him, earning a small bite on your clavicle, “As soon as I’m better, I’m claiming you” his eyes shifted to have dials, “Sure thing, you have a lot of pain to make up for, ya’ know?” he knew that.
There were parts of your body that were burnt, others covered by patches made of steel, then there were the cuts, the scars, the lashes, everything he acknowledged it was his fault, “This, are they dead?” you shook your head, “Then my broadcast will have new voices” his voice took a low tone and the growl made you feel butterflies, “Thank you” you whispered, lowering just enough so you could have your head under his chin, legs intertwined, arms holding each other as close as possible.
“This is going to sound weird, but I’m glad I killed you” he let out a breathy laugh, “Me too”.

Dr. Raynor's office
The clock on the wall ticked steadily, almost matching your heartbeat.
"Did you dream of him again?" she wanted to know, eyes closely watching you.
"No, I haven't dreamt of him in a long time now... but he contacted me." you gave back, fingers interlocked, fumbling with each other.
"Did he call you? Text?"
"No, he contacted me through my thoughts."
"That he can do?"
"When the will is there, yes."
"There has to be a deep connection between you for him to do that."
"No... not anymore."
"So there was a connection."
"Was. It doesn't exist anymore."
"What happened between you two?"
"We slept with each other. And after he left without me noticing, I never heard of him again."
She nodded to herself, carefully considering what you told her.
"Do you have feelings for him?"
"I've had feelings for him for almost ten years now."
You knew it wasn't right, not like this. When you first saw him, it was at the museum, Steve telling you everything about him. How brave he was, courageous and caring. How he looked after Steve, when no one else was left.
You developed feelings for someone who didn't even exist anymore, at least that was what everyone thought.
Who would have known, that he was still alive, breathing and killing.
"Do you know him this long?" she asked, head tilted.
"No. I met him, after Steve brought him back. I was there, when they brought him to Wakanda and I visited him during his rehabilitation. Then, when Thanos blib'd us, he was gone. And after he returned a few months ago, it just happened. I don't know if it was frustration, after Steve left us, or what else it was, but we lost control for a moment."
"Control over what? Your feelings?"
"He doesn't have any feelings for me."
"Are you sure about that?"
"Why do you think he ghosted me?" you chuckled dryly, brows furrowed as you looked at her like she was an alien.
You had to bite your lip not to snarl at her, send biting words her way. She was only trying to help you, had been for a few months now.
But sometimes, she didn't seem to understand you.
"Maybe because he was scared? Didn't know how to handle his feelings?" she suggested, cocking a brow.
"No, James Barnes doesn't have such feelings - only sadness and anger." you told her, the bitter feeling of guilt stinging on your tongue.
"Was it these feelings, that led to him sleeping with you? His anger, his sadness?"
"A moment of weakness, nothing more."
She wrote something into her notebook, before she tapped her pen on the paper. "What did he want?"
"He wanted me to help him."
You flinched, when suddenly a sharp pain tore through your head.
What the hell?
"Y/N?"
You believed you heard a voice, one that sounded painfully familiar.
"Y/N?" There it was again, and you sighed shakily, feelings starting to mix in a dangerous cocktail. "James?" you answered in a thought, eyes closing, as you tried not to betray your feelings with a quiver of your voice.
It must have taken him a lot to contact you through your thoughts.
You were a telepath, able to communicate via thoughts, as well as moving objects through the air. But it took a lot of willpower, to contact you through your thoughts, especially when it was over such a great distance.
And by someone like James Buchanan Barnes.
"Oh thank god." you heard him mumble, as your belly churned.
After you've spent the night together and he left, you hadn't heard from him. Why would he contact you like that of all ways? Why contact you at all?
"What do you want?" you returned coldly, teeth gritted, as you sat up in bed. You were just about to sleep, already tucked under your covers, when he contacted you.
The anger bubbling up in your stomach made it hard for you to concentrate, but the curiosity was the slightest bit stronger.
"I need your help."
Eyes widening, you fumed. Hands clenched into fists, the books in the bookcase started to rattle, trinkets threatening to tumble over.
Oh, the nerve he had - he had to be fucking kidding you.
"You need my help?" you seethed, not able to contain the angry chuckle that escaped your lips. "You have to be kidding me."
It was silent for a few moments and you started to think he might have cut the connection, when you heard him sigh.
"I-" he started, but was cut off by another voice. "What are you doing?" you heard the voice ask - Sam. "Are you praying or something?"
You could basically hear Bucky's eyes roll in their sockets, as he sighed angrily. "No, I'm not." he retorted, scoffing. "I'm-" he cut himself off this time, most likely rubbing the stubble on his chin. "I'm talking to Y/N."
It was silent for another moment, before you heard Sam again. "How? Where's your phone? Or are you communicating through prayers?"
Rolling your eyes, you shook your head.
"Forgot that she can communicate via thought?" Bucky gave back, sounding fed up. "That's possible?" Sam sounded surprised. "Over this distance? What do you want from her anyways? Thought you guys aren't talking."
Cocking a brow you huffed, and you heard Bucky stutter incoherently, eventually finding his words. "No- I-I mean, yes. We need her help if we want to find them!"
"Find whom?" you wanted to know, scrambling for the laptop that was under your bed, flipping it open, despite your better judgement. "What happened anyways?" Sam questioned, his curiosity getting the best of him.
Since when were they teaming up?
"Did you hear about the group 'Flagsmashers'?" Bucky asked, focusing back on you. "Of course, do you think I live under a rock?" you scoffed in return.
He rolled his eyes, you swear he did.
"Well, they plan something big and we can't find them." he explained, ignoring Sam who was still demanding an answer. "We need satellite pictures or video or whatever. Sharon can't hack into them."
"Sharon?" you retorted, huffing. You hadn't seen her since she had to flee, now knowing why. She must have holed up wherever Sam and Bucky where. "What makes you think I have access to satellites wherever you are?"
He hesitated, as you grew impatient.
"And what exactly makes you think I'd help you?"
He must have been very desperate if he contacted you of all people.
"After all I thought we weren't talking?"
He was frustrated, you could tell. You could feel it seeping into your bones.
"They are killing dozens of innocent people!" he explained, anger and frustration filtering through his voice. "Could you please help us? I wouldn't ask if I had another option."
I wouldn't ask you of all people.
"Already on it." you mumbled, as you were already typing on your laptop, telling yourself you were doing this for the innocent people he mentioned, ignoring your aching heart.
The group he was talking about was all over the news lately, gathering more followers each day. They were a threat, and no matter how much you despised talking to Bucky, you knew you had to help them.
Going through the various pictures, you scanned them for the group. "Found 'em." you announced, zooming in on a picture.
"I'll send Sam the location."
Bucky made a noise like he wanted to protest, say something like 'Why not sent it to me?', but he must have remembered that you weren't talking.
"Thank you." you heard him mutter, before he abruptly cut the connection, leaving you wide awake.
Closing your eyes you tried to hold back the tears. It was pointless crying over him, you did for a while now.
It never changed anything for you.
But, as Bucky was forming a plan with Sam, he could hear it clear as day - the single sob that managed to spill, leaving him wondering if he really heard it, or if he just imagined it.
"Did you help him?" Dr. Raynor asked, brows furrowed. She as well had heard about the group of terrorists, and she had talked to Sam and Bucky not long ago.
"I had to." you retorted, huffing.
"Why? Because he asked you to?"
"Because it was the right thing to do."
"Because of this group they are trying to stop?"
"Yes."
She nodded to herself, biting her cheek.
"How do you feel about John Walker being the new Captain America?"
Your eyes snapped to hers, hands stopping their trembling. "Don't call him that."
"Why not? Doesn't he fit your expectations?"
You chuckled dryly, smirking at her. "My expectations?" you wanted to know, leaning forward with a cocked brow. "Steven Grant Rogers was my best friend. He was my anchor, and when he left, living a life in the past with Peggy Carter, he fulfilled his greatest wish. Do I hate him for leaving me behind? Yes, I do. But I support him and his decision nonetheless. He gave the shield to Sam, who gave it away. Who am I to have expectations, when my biggest hope of someone worthy stepping into these massive footprints has been so utterly disappointed?"
Her forehead creased in thought, tapping the pen on the notebook again. The sound was so familiar already, that you had started to ignore it a long time ago.
"John Walker is said to be a good man. Don't you think he will make a good replacement for Captain America?"
"He can be good all he wants, wear the medals he obtained with pride - but he'll never be like us. The Avengers, people that gave everything for others, never once thinking about ourselves. Did we get any medals when we stopped Thanos? When Tony undid the blib, sacrificing himself? No. My best friend - my sister - died, forcing my dad to forever feel guilty for not dying in her place. Can she be replaced? No. Just as Steve can't be replaced. But Sam was the best option to be the next Cap."
"You're dad?"
"Clint. He took me under his wing almost fifteen years ago. He's the dad I never had."
She nodded, scribbling something down again.
"Will you talk to him again?"
Your brows furrowed, remembering the conversation you had with your dad only this morning.
"James."
Sighing, you leaned back against the cushions again, crossing your arms over your chest.
"No."
"Why not?"
"Why not?" you repeated her words, anger bubbling up yet again, as your eyes widened in disbelieve. "James Buchanan Barnes ghosted me after we had sex, only contacting me to get my help. After that, he ghosted me again. And you're asking why not?"
She heaved a sigh, glancing at her watch only to see that she had another thirty minutes with you.
It wasn't that she didn't like you, but you reminded her of Bucky in your stubborn and deflective ways.
"Maybe you should." she spoke, tilting her head. "Talk to him, demand answers as to why exactly he ghosted you."
Scoffing, you stood, feeling the sudden urge to leave, get the hell out of there.
"Sit." she demanded sharply, the tapping of her pen coming to a halt.
Groaning, you did.
"Why don't you help them in trying to stop this group of terrorists for starters?" she suggested, leaning forwards on her elbows, that were resting on her thighs. "And maybe you can talk to him afterwards."
You laughed at her suggestion, declaring her insane.
But you couldn't deny the aching in your heart at the prospect.
You yearned for his touch, his scent, his voice. The way his fingertips ghosted over your skin, lips brushing over the shell of your ear as he whispered sweet nothings into it, hips connecting with yours over and over again.
Dr. Raynor smirked, like she was able to read your thoughts. She wasn't, though she still seemed to know exactly what you were thinking.
Cheeks reddening, you cleared your throat, deciding that you were in need of another topic.
"How was your weekend?"
____
You hated this.
Why exactly did she manage to convince you to follow them, again?
You were late, seeing as the whole scene was crowded, the Flagsmashers already captured, their leader dead. She was a young girl, barely old enough to drink legally.
You were standing at the rear of the ambulance, watching Sam and Bucky who were stood at the front, backs turned towards you. They didn't know you were there yet, talking to each other.
Your heart was thundering in your chest, and you were scared Bucky could hear it with his super soldier hearing.
You were contemplating if you should turn around and hurry the fuck out of there, but it was too late, when they turned instead, heading towards you.
They hadn't seen you yet, but when Sam looked up, his steps faltered, causing Bucky to look your way as well. He stopped dead in his tracks, jaw slack, before it clenched.
Sam hesitantly closed the distance, whilst Bucky was glued to the spot.
"Hey." he voiced, glancing back at the frozen super soldier. "I'll leave you to talk."
"What if I don't want to?"
"You should."
He patted you on the shoulder, before he left for someone that called out to him.
Your hands trembled, your whole body trembled, as you both stared at each other. Neither of you knew what to say, neither wanting to be the first to speak.
"Should have expected you to turn up here." he muttered, and you scoffed. "Believe me, I'm not here because I wanted to be." you retorted as equally cold, shoving your hands into the pockets of your jacket.
He cocked a brow, mimicking the movement, his arm reflecting the light. "Why are you here then?" he wanted to know, fighting the urge to lean against the ambulance.
He didn't want to come over as relaxed, because he definitely wasn't with you standing in front of him.
Not anymore.
He hadn't expected you to show up, he had hoped you wouldn't.
"I wanted to see if you need more help with the Flagsmashers." you explained, looking past him. "You already helped enough with the location." he returned, unwavering.
Nodding, you bit your lip, looking away.
He was shoving you away, again.
"Well, then I suppose I will go." you spoke, swallowing. "Should have expected not to be welcomed."
You didn't mean to say it out loud, really. It just slipped through somehow.
His brows furrowed, eyes narrowing. "Welcomed?" he asked, taking a step closer as his head tilted. "No one invited you. You didn't need to come."
Huffing, you nodded again.
"Well, and no one invited you." you retorted sharply, looking back up at him. "Yet you came as well, before you left without a word."
His jaw clenched, teeth gritted.
"But hey, lets not talk about it, its not worth mentioning anyways."
You wanted to scratch his ego, your own lying broken in a corner. It worked, as he took another step closer, head tilted. Lowering his voice, he spoke exactly what you were expecting him to.
"Didn't sound not 'worth mentioning' it, considering the way you cried my name out for everyone in the building to hear."
You shivered involuntarily, trying not to let him see, though.
He wasn't wrong, but you wouldn't have him know that.
"Really? Maybe I'm just a good actress."
He scoffed, chuckling dryly.
"Just as good as you're at sneaking out."
He fumed at your words, face hardening. His arm whirred quietly, so hard he must have been clenching his hands into fists.
You stared each other down, as your heart silently begged for you to stop. But you were caught in the moment, caught in your anger and hurt.
When neither of you said anything for a good minute, you shook your head and turned around, starting to walk away.
You should have known he wouldn't talk to you.
"Do you think it was easy?" he shouted after you, causing you to halt in your movement.
"Do you think it was easy? After everything that happened, being turned to dust, returning, only for Steve to leave me behind?"
You turned back around, scoffing. "He didn't leave only you." you reminded him, voice harsh. "He left Sam and I as well. He left us all behind, staying in the past to spend his life with Peggy - the only wish he ever had. He was selfish, yes, but he knew we'd manage."
He shook his head, biting his cheek.
"I failed him."
You couldn't help but laugh, frustration growing thicker. "Why do you think so?"
His eyes were glued to the floor, before he looked back up at you.
"I tried, but I didn't manage." he explained, taking a step closer, partly closing the distance you had created. "I spiraled downwards, losing control. I-" he cut himself off, eyes flitting to the sky above you, as he licked his lips, before he looked back at you.
"I lost the little ounce of control I had left when I let you in." he continued, shaking his head, as he bit down on his cheek, the sting momentarily distracting him from his raging heart. "When we- when we spent that night together, I panicked. I hadn't done something like that since the forties, and I didn't want to drag you down into the hole I was falling into."
You had to swallow, eyes stinging, even though you did your best to ignore it.
"And what about me?" you wanted to know, clearing your throat, as your voice quivered. "What about the hole I was falling into?"
His jaw ticked, and he swallowed.
When he didn't answer, you continued.
"You left me behind, in the moment I was the most vulnerable. I needed you, and you left - as well."
He shook his head, hand brushing through his hair. "You don't need me."
"I shouldn't need you." you corrected him, shaking your head with a frown, as you took a step closer. "When Steve first told me about you, showing me your picture at the museum I knew I was done for. Hell, when you stood in front of me, breathing and not dead, like you were believed to be, I thought I was dreaming. I envied Steve, because he made you sound like the best person on earth."
He scoffed, but didn't interrupt you further, eyes downcast.
"I wanted to get to know you, wanted to see if Steve was right." you continued, fighting a smile, losing. "He was, and when we spent more time together, I started to see what he saw. And then you turned into dust. The whole world tilted, for five years. You were gone, Sam, my dad and my whole family suddenly vanished. And when you returned I was so happy - only for you to leave me again. I know it probably didn't mean anything to you, but for me it did."
You breathed in shakily, stopping your own rambling, heart hammering in your chest, threatening to break through.
"You're wrong." he muttered, swallowing, as he locked eyes with you. "It did mean something to me - it meant the whole world to me. You didn't judge me, no matter what I did. You made me forget. You where there the whole time, accompanying me the whole way. But when Steve-" he choked on his breath, shaking his head with tears glistening in his eyes.
"I lost it. And I couldn't risk bringing you in harms way - my way. I didn't want to hurt you."
Sniffing, you bit on your cheek, almost drawing blood.
"But you did." you whispered, tears making your eyes burn, blurring your sight. "You did, when you pushed me away. You where the only constant I had left, and you pushed me away."
He nodded, sniffing as well. "I know, doll." he spoke, biting his lip. "I know."
Even though you felt a weight lift from your shoulders, it didn't feel as relieving as it should have. A tear fell, but you didn't brush it away.
You fell silent, lost in thought.
Somehow, you just confessed your feelings to him, stripped them bare for him to see. Leaving you even more vulnerable.
Your fingers tapped on your thigh in a nervous habit, wishing you could read Bucky's mind. Even though you were able to communicate via thought, you weren't actually able to read other peoples thoughts.
"Will you forgive me?" he suddenly rasped out, eyes staying a second longer on the ground, before they found yours, hope glistening in them. He sounded so broken, so vulnerable, like you never heard him before.
"Please, Y/N."
You swallowed at the nerves bubbling up, slowly starting to nod. "Yes, Bucky." you breathed out, sniffing. "Yes, I forgive you."
How were you supposed to stay angry at him, after what he just told you? After everything that had happened?
He breathed a sigh of relief, nodding to himself, as his eyes closed for a moment.
A tear slipped past his eyelashes, and he bit his lip. You had only seen him cry once, causing you to inhale shakily at the memory.
He wiped at the salty liquid, before his eyes opened again, his feet taking him closer to you, until he was as close as he was the last time you had seen him in person.
You could smell his familiar cologne, feel the heat his body radiated.
His flesh fingers hesitantly moved, brushing a few stray strands of hair out of your face, softly cupping your cheek. The action made you shiver, goosebumps covering your arms, as you leaned into his warm touch the slightest bit, eyes locked onto his blue ones.
"I'm so sorry, doll." he rasped out, eyes fighting to stay on yours. "I did what I thought was best for you, but I know now, that I was wrong. I'm having nightmares again, but I'm working on it. I'm working on everything, trying to get a bit of the old me back to life - the one Steve had told you all these stories about."
You knew about his nightmares, even though they were different now, thanks to the Dora Milaje who had managed to free him of the Winter Soldier state.
He didn't turn into him anymore, not for the briefest of moments. Something he would forever be grateful for.
"I'm an idiot." he mumbled, eyes leaving yours, his hand leaving your face, falling back at his side with his head downcast. "I never should have left - never should have let this happen. I should have listened to Dr. Raynor."
You cocked a brow at his words, head tilting to somehow meet his gaze. "What do you mean?"
He sighed heavily, swallowing, as his nerves got the best of him. "I mean that I should have talked to you, instead of just leaving you behind." he explained, tongue brushing over his lip, hesitating. "Should have told you how I feel."
You inhaled sharply, hands starting their nervous trembling at your sides again.
"What do you feel?" you managed to breathe out, and his eyes met yours again, the intensity of his gaze stealing your breath.
His lips parted, only for his tongue to wet them again. He searched for the right words, soon giving up and opting for the simpler option instead.
"I love you, Y/N."
Your breathing hitched, heart stumbling, before it doubled its speed.
"You're pure, soft and so lovingly." he continued, hands cupping your face. There the words were. "You never once judged me, not even in my darkest hours. You're the thing that kept me going, made me push through to get rid of the Winter Soldier. I wanted to be better - for you. But I fucked up, so badly. I fell into an old habit, pushing you away so you wouldn't get hurt, but instead I did exactly that: hurting you. And I'm a fucking coward for pushing you away, and not pulling you closer instead, now that I'm actually able to."
Words had left you, only tears managed to spill. He brushed them away with his thumbs, one cold and one warm, yet they were both so soft.
His eyes closed, forehead brushing yours. Your eyes fluttered closed as well, breathing him in.
"Working with Sam on this distracted me enough to forget it for a moment." he spoke quietly, leaving you to wonder how exactly that had happened. "But I was selfish when I contacted you, asking for help. I wanted to hear your voice, even if you would have just shouted at me, telling me to never talk to you again."
You bit your lip, more tears falling.
"I would have never." you told him, eyes squinting, even though they were already closed. "I love you too much."
His body moved abruptly, a sob breaking through his lips. It was one of relief and deep shame.
He nodded, his forehead leaving yours to press kisses to your face. Your cheeks, your forehead, your nose, until he finally met your lips with his own.
You tasted the salty remnants of your combined tears on your lips, but neither of you cared. Hands wrapping around his neck, brushing through his hair, you tugged him closer.
Something wet hit your cheek, but you couldn't tell if it were your tears, or his.
His hands on your cheeks tilted your head back, deepening the kiss. His tongue brushed yours, an action so soft it left you yearning for more.
When his lips left yours, you sighed, eyes slowly opening to meet his blue ones. His lips were kiss swollen, but so were yours.
"He took the shield." Bucky breathed out with shining eyes, fingers dancing through your hair. Nodding, you couldn't help but smile. "I know. Finally."
He chuckled quietly, before his lips connected with yours again.
"Now that this mission is complete, I'm all yours." he promised, forehead meeting yours again. "I won't ever do the mistake of pushing you away again, I promise."
You smiled, feeling the tears return, happy ones this time.
"I'm yours." he repeated, lips meeting your cheek. "I'm yours."
"I know." you returned, eyes fluttering closed.
"And I'm yours."

୨୧ glory filled mornings ୨୧
pairing: Johnnie Guilbert ♡︎ Reader
warnings: ୭̥⋆*。 SMUT, unedited, wrote this when i had a fever so it doesn’t make sense lol
summary: ʚ johnnie wakes up with an embarrassing situation ɞ
Words: idk lol
Tumblr media
An: i’m so sorry u have been absent i’ve genuinely been going through the ringer and i promise i’m making my way through these requests!! also i will rewrite this at some point haha
It wasn't often that Johnnie indulged in hookups. Sure every so once in a while a pretty girl and him would leave a bar together. Nothing was ever that serious with him. He has been on a few dates but nothing ever went anywhere.
This was different. He had to admit you had piqued his interest since he met you at a party. Then again the next week he saw you again. You were one of Corry and Jake’s friends from their traphouse days.
You were so fucking pretty. The way you laughed at almost all of his jokes, even if they weren't funny. When you would lean in to make sure you heard everything he wanted to say. The way you would trace his tattoos whenever he would show you one of them. That's what led the two of you to cuddle in an Uber home.
The two of you drunkenly cuddled on your couch before you kicked him to your bed. Refusing to let a guest sleep on the couch. That's how he woke up to his head pounding and an unfortunate boner.
He felt the familiar feeling and looked down, revealing a small tent in his boxers. Probably from sleeping in a pretty girl's bed all night. “Fuck,” he muttered to himself.
He rubs his face with his hands as you suddenly enter the room. He quickly covers his body back up with your duvet. “Heyy good morning sleepy head,” you said smiling. You had a medicine bottle and a glass of water in your hands. “H-hey,” he said, feeling his heart beating out of his chest.
“Ugh god my head hurts so bad, I took some Tylenol and I hope that helps.” you absentmindedly said setting the bottle and water down on your bedside table. The pressure of the blanket pressing on his core was definitely not helping his boner, the sight of your short Beetlejuice sleep shorts was also not helping.
Your skin looked so damn soft, the pudge of your thighs spilling out as you sat down on the bed next to him. You were on your phone not even looking at him. It was truly embarrassing just how much his damn brain was fixated on you.
You hugged your knees to your chest scrolling around on your phone. Softly chewing on your nails, you notice that Johnnie has been staring at you for a prolonged amount of time. You lifted your head from your Doordash app to look at him.
He looked flushed, he had ripped his shirt off in the middle of the night so you could see how red his chest was. You quirked your head at him “Dude Johnnie you ok?” you ask, trying not to laugh a little.
“Um yeah I'm fine-” he muttered, scratching his head, his rings and necklaces clinking together. “Dude, tell me what's going on. You didn't blow chunks in my room did you?” you say with a disgusted face.
“No! No- I swear I didn't-” he said sitting up more. Unfortunately, he was cut off by your eyes dropping to his waist. When he sat up the blanket got just a little too low. Johnnie’s raging boner peeking through his skinny jeans was now in full view.
His eyes shoot up back at your face. He couldn't discern your facial expression at all. Your eyes were slightly wide but you didn't look disgusted or horrified or even mildly embarrassed.
Johnnie sure did. He felt like he was gonna die. Right there, right then, with a fat boner in a pretty girl's bedroom. His brain was slowly shutting down from anxiety. Unable to form an apology. Or any thoughts for that matter.
You felt a rush of confidence surge through your body as you stared at the raven-haired boy. “Oh?” you asked, turning your phone off, leaning forward getting closer to Johnnie.
He was surely having an aneurysm. Or maybe he was still drunk and this was just a bad dream. He could almost feel the heat radiating off of your skin. It was going to set him on fire. His head was pounding and he was tired, but at the same time, he hadn't ever felt more awake than he does now.
“I-I'm so sorry. I'm not trying to be some fucking creep. It just happens sometimes I promise it has nothing to do with you.” he stuttered putting his hand in between you and himself.
That was half true. Sometimes morning wood just happens for no reason, the untrue half was that it had NOTHING to do with you. Maybe Johnnie dreamt of you last night, maybe he didn't. All he knows is the scent of you was enough to drive him up the fucking walls.
“Awww really?” you asked in a fiend sad voice. You placed your right hand on one side of his body moving you closer to him. He felt like squealing or squirming or maybe both. This was a horrible situation to be in.
“Yes, I'm so sorry I will leave.” he prefaced trying to pin his body down onto the mattress as you moved closer to him. “There's no need for that, you said it yourself it's perfectly natural. You don't need to be embarrassed.” you purred out. Johnnie's skin was on fire, he could have cried from how hard he was in his jeans.
“I promise it's not about you,” he whispers, trying to save face. “It's not? You don't think I'm pretty Johnnie?” you ask with a pout. You continued to climb up the bed. Your body was so close to his now. Your arms were on either side of his head.
“No! It's not that I think you are beautiful-” he almost shouted at you. “Oh, you think I'm beautiful?” you whispered as you hovered over his neck. He let out a shaky breath as he watched your head dip down to his neck.
He felt like could explode as you slowly started to kiss up his neck. “This ok?” you murmured against his skin, your voice tickling his flesh. “Mhm!” he borderline whimpered out feeling your tongue and teeth grazing his hot skin.
You moved your legs to mimic your arms moving on either side of his body. Your body was on top of his, feeling his boner through his pants. It sends waves of heat to your core. Pressing your clothes clit on his hard-on slowly starting to rub up and down.
It was painful how hard he was. “Fuck please, let me take my pants off.” he moaned out his hands slinking up to your waist and under his shirt. You were quick to take his hands off of you and hold them above next to his head.
He whined out as your display of dominance, bucked his hips up into you. “Keep your hands there,” you whispered while sitting up. All of your weight was now on his crotch. The pressure sent him spinning. You slowly slid your hands on your body taking your shirt off.
He gasped looking at you. He never went after looks always personality but fuck you were so perfect for him. It was hard listening to your instructions. He wanted to grip your sides as you bounced up and down on him.
But he stayed put. You slowly pulled your shorts off as well, it's not like they left much to the imagination. Your dark panties found their way to his body again grinding down on him. His mound pressing into you. “Let me take my fucking pants off,” he whined, lifting his head a little bit.
“God, you are so impatient,” you murmur moving your head down, he sucked in with clenched teeth as you slowly started to pepper kisses along his chest. “Ah fuck.” he whined bucking his hips against you.
“Shush,” you whispered, you continued to suck and pull at his chest skin adorning his body with hickies that matched the ones on his neck. He threw his head back trying to feel any sort of release or pressure.
“Mm, fuck.” He whimpered again he squirmed more under you, his slim waist flexing beautifully. “Johnnie?” you asked moving up above him leaving his marked chest alone for now.
“Yeah?” He panted out, his head still feeling like a jackhammer was bouncing around his brain. “Take your pants off,” you whispered. Your voice was so quiet he didn't hear you at first. A pause between the two of you capturing desperation.
Once the words finally filled his brain he scooted away from you and off the bed hastily ripping the belt he had been wearing off. You flipped on your back, head hitting the pillow.
You hooked your fingers around your panties to pull them down. “No! Don't, I want to.” Johnnie said, holding his hand out. You smirked at him feeling your panties sticking to your body.
He fiddled with his jean button before finally being able to undo it. He yanked his pants and boxers down, his cock springing up and hitting his chest. He crawled up the bed, staring down at you.
You were breathing deeply, gazing into his eyes. Johnnie grabs the blanket, dropping it over himself. His hands find their way to your sides slowly caressing up and down. His head ducked down to your neck.
He returns the favor of the hickies nipping at your skin. Your nails find their way to his hair, scraping his scalp and encouraging him to continue. You moaned out slightly at the contact.
His arms moved to either side of your head, his back flexing to reach every part of you. This time your hips moved up to meet him. “Who is the impatient one now? Huh?” he asked, you could feel the smirk on his lips.
“It's still you.” you teased him, slowly grabbing a fistful of his hair. He whined slightly as you pulled him away from your neck. His dick was resting on top of your stomach. “Johnnie, I need you,” you stated slowly. “I need you to fuck me,” you said, your voice dripping dominance.
Johnnie couldn't help but obey. “Fuck yeah, ok,” he muttered sitting on his knees and moving his hands towards your sides. Finally pulling your panties from your dripping cunt. You spread your legs open for him, his hands pressing against your thigh to stabilize himself.
Hu pumped his cock a few times before lining himself in your entrance. He slowly pushed into you, whimpering feeling your tight walls around him. He leaned down, capturing your lips. He slowly pulled out of you and snapped his hips back in. You whimpered against him.
Your nails found his back, he slowly started to pump faster and faster inside you. You moaned against his mouth scratching down his back. Your long acrylic nails surely leave him bleeding.
He moans into your mouth as he starts to approach his climax. “Fuck fuck I can't hold on for much longer,” he whines. “Keep going, I'm so close,” you whine back to him. He grips the pillows behind your head as his hips snap against yours.
The coil snaps as your walls flutter around his member. Your eyes roll back as you mewl out for him. Your orgasm washes over you like a powerful wave, you squeezed him so tight you pulled his orgasm out of him.
His hips stuttered for a second before continuing to pump in and out of you as white ropes shot to your core. After a few seconds, he stood still before removing himself from you.
You feel him drop to your chest bringing the blanket up over himself and holding you. He snuggled his head into your chest not wanting this moment to be over.
Eventually, it had to be. So to Johnnie’s dismay, he rolled over on the other side of your bed. You giggle as he lets out a dramatic huff. “Mmm fuck.” he mumbles his headache returning. You rolled over as well smiling down at him.
“We should go shower now,” you whispered, pressing a soft kiss against his cheek. “Mm later,” he whispered, wrapping his arms around you.
The two of you sat with one another for a while. Just resting, tracing his tattoos. Eventually you moved to the bathroom, turning the warm water on. You stepped in letting the water heat your body.
The shower door opened and you turned around to see Johnnie stepping in after you.

I side eye Matt from across the room, who was currently staring down his brother as he said by to Colby. It was almost 2 in the morning and everyone was finally gone. Once the door shut behind Colby the room was left in an awkward silence.
I almost found the courage to leave but I was really thrown off when Nick walked me to the couch. The way him and Matt were looking at me made it feel like we were about to have a fucking intervention.
“You two really have nothing to say?” Matt asks, looking back and forth between Chris and I.
I stay silent, “There’s nothing to say Matt.” Chris sighs, coming to sit next to me leaving a decent amount of space. He thinks we can get out of this somehow, but I’m sick of the hiding and sneaking around.
“Whatever. We know you guys are fucking which to me is weird but don’t do it when we have people over.” Nick speaks from the other side of me, “Matt sit down! You look like a weirdo just standing there.”
Matt lets out a huff as he walks around the coffee table and sits next to Chris, “I’m not the weirdo, Chris is.”
“Okay!” Chris shouts, throwing his hands up, “Y/N is 18, a complete legal adult! Stop making me out to be something I’m not.” He spits out, glaring at his brother. "What we do behind closed doors shouldn't mean a thing to you guys."
I nod, “Our age gap is only 5 years, that isn’t bad. It’s not like he met me when I was 17 or something.” I comment, making Matt turn to look at me.
He shakes his head, “It’s still not a good look and not something we should promote to our fans. 5 years is kind of a lot.” Matt replies, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Let it go Matt there’s nothing we can do or say to stop them.” Nick comments, making me face him just in time to see him roll his eyes.
I frown, “Do you guys not like me or something?” I ask them, looking between them to see confused expressions on their faces.
“What?”
“Of course we like you what do you mean?”
My throat begins to burn and my eyes water, “Well, you two seem to think it’s the end of the world if Chris and I are together so how else am I supposed to feel?” I ask incredulously, standing up to leave.
“No!” Chris pleads, quickly grabbing my wrist to stop me from leaving, “They don’t get to scare you off.” My heart breaks the tiniest bit at how scared Chris sounded.
I shake his grip from my arm, “I’ll be right back.” I mutter, walking away from the couch and heading towards the door. "Just need some space for a second." I look over my shoulder as I speak, looking at Chris. I didn't want him to think I was giving up on him, because I wasn't.
I walk down the steps and take a seat at the bench they have by the front door. I stare at my shoes trying to think of why Nick and Matt are so against this.
5 years isn’t that big, right? Chris and I had the same childhood, went through similar school experiences, hell half of the time I don’t even realize he’s not my age. He acts way younger than he is only because he's afraid of fully growing up.
We all are.
“Thanks a fucking lot guys.” Chris scoffs, there’s some shuffling and I can only assume he’s getting up to come after me.
“I don’t understand what’s the big deal here?” Nick shouts at Chris, who’s now standing at the top of the stairs.
“The big deal is you don’t support or accept the first woman I’ve ever fucking loved!” Chris yells back, before he turns to come down the stairs he sees me and freezes.
“You love her?!”
“You love me?” I ask quietly, the tears finally falling. Chris frowns as he quickly makes his way down to me, grabbing my face and wiping my tears.
We hadn't said those words to each other yet so hearing Chris confess it in the middle of an argument had me so emotional. He felt so strongly about me he told his brothers first, and I can't even be mad at that.
Chris isn't the type to put his love into words, more so willing to show it in the way he treats you.
“I’m sorry baby, I wanted that moment to be more special than that.” He sighs, helping me stand. Once I’m on my feet I tug him into a bone crushing hug.
“I love you.” I reply, pressing kisses to his neck. Chris lets out a chuckle before he pulls back slightly, just enough to kiss me deeply.
“Okay that was kinda cute.” Chris and I pull away from each other to see Matt and Nick standing at the top of the stairs, “Don’t look at me like that! You guys got quiet and I got curious.” Nick shrugs, a small smile on his lips.
Chris shakes his head before he takes my hand and leads me up the stairs.
“I’m sorry for how we’ve been. We thought there wasn’t any feelings involved and didn’t want to lose you as a friend.” Matt softly speaks, opening his arm for a hug. I walk into his embrace, “Now I just gotta make sure Chris doesn’t fuck this up.” He whispers to me, making me laugh.
Nick slings an arm around my shoulder and guides me back to the couch, “Whatever Matt said, I agree.”
We all sit back down and I can’t help but feel jittery when Chris scoots me over and tugs me into his side. I look up at him to see him already smiling down at me, and I lean upwards to give him a short and sweet kiss.
“Can’t you guys pretend we don’t know again and not do that around us?”
