A post about the time Hawks made Kacchan really, really jealous.

When I watched this scene in the anime I found it amusing as hell. Kacchan’s behaviour felt kind of strange/off though, but after I saw the panelling of the scene in the manga recently, it only seems even more funny and bkdk driven. His behaviour also made more sense. I’ll breakdown the scene and go into some of Kacchan’s deeper issues after.

They meet with Hawks after he helps them bring down villains. Izuku is star struck from the get-go and nervously greets the rank #2, who likewise recognises him from the sports festival.

Hawks tells Izuku he's heard about him from Tokoyami... then backtracks and says, "No, actually... (even without that) I would have liked to have worked with you, too, but..."

However, before he can finish explaining himself... he feels a "sakki", meaning bad feeling or literally "killing intent." (But the anime didn't show this part of their interaction! or how noticing the sakki interrupted Hawks' speech. So this is another one of those little flavourful nuances anime watchers(me) missed out on)

sakki (殺気 The individual kanji are pronounced satsu and ki, respectively, but due to Japanese grammar rules, the -tsu in the former is dropped and the consonant in ki is geminated, turning it into sa- + -kki.), which is primarily used by practitioners of Ninjutsu; "Killing Intent" is the most literal translation, with "Bloodlust" as a close second. The Chinese equivalent is sha qi - x

Which is kind of funny, considering Katsuki's soon to be revealed hero name which also had “Satsu” in it. Dai Baku Sasshin Dynamight. (Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight)

Hawks turns to the source of the "sakki"... and it's Kacchan staring bloody murder at him, challenging him! After the stuff Hawks said, it feels like Kacchan is even more annoyed at Hawks for taking a special interest in Izuku, by saying he wanted to work with him (despite being so busy he left Tokoyami in the care of his sidekicks). I think in Kacchan's mind this means a scenario where Izuku would have been with Hawks at his hero nest instead of with Kacchan at Endeavour's agency... 👀 How territorial! I think Hawks also noticed something was off and taunts him, just for fun. 🤭

Also, this is only a funny coincidence, but after Hawks says something that feels like he's wanting to 'take Izuku away,' Kacchan just happens to say “About before, I got in faster than you." It could mean absolutely nothing, or it could be the slightest nuance for "I was here first. Deku's already been mine since childhood, so back off.” Like an inside joke Hori made for himself, knowing he was writing bkdk to become the main canon couple in the series.

I'm /hj ofc but… you never know! It's wild that Kacchan is even this hung up on what Hawks did in the first place, so I might be trying to make it make more sense! understandably, right?

When Hawks leaves, not only is Izuku swooning over him again... now Shouto is too! Kacchan can't stand it! I don't know about you, but if Kacchan's intense reaction is only that Hawks showed them up, it’s a severe case of the punishment not fitting the crime. Not to mention, it began when Hawks started chatting up Izuku about getting him to intern with him and got even worse because Izuku went full fanboy mode LOL

Later at the agency he’s still filled with rage from their meeting, making up an insulting nickname for Hawks that can loosely be translated as “smiling birdbrain” (Hawks wears a carefree smile on his face and Katsuki doesn’t like it. He thinks he’s being smug - which he was, but only just a little… so again… punishment ≠ crime which is why we can theorise there was something more to his jealousy.)

Lmaooo listen. Think of a really possessive boyfriend who can’t stand their lover checking out other people and commenting on how attractive they are. And you've literally got how Kacchan feels about being a hero in front of Izuku.

Kacchan's gotten jealous like this before, when Shouto declared war on Izuku at the start of BNHA. That's how he got involved with the Todoroki family drama, because his jealousy drove him to follow them sneaking off alone together. And again in the third movie, at the very end, when Kacchan's boyfriend stayed back to say goodbye to Rody, and he glared at them the whole way going up the escalator lmao

Jealous Katsuki "needs Izuku's attention on him always" Bakugou has three modes: “Why aren’t you looking only my way you shitty nerd.” “Forget this other bastard, what about me??? I’m ‘sugoi’ right?!!” and our fave (😂) “Just keep your eyes on me, shitty Deku!”

He responded with SO MUCH irritation at Hawks simply because Izuku’s fanboying over somebody that’s not him.

Poor Kacchan has to compete with all other heroes for Izuku’s affection because he’s an otaku that grew up worshipping all quirks. 😂

Meet Katsuki Bakugou: From the age of four, he was told by family, doctors, teachers, hero loving society and the next door neighbour's cat that his quirk is the embodiment of excellence. What a guy! He will go far in life so we should let him do whatever he wants, it’s fine! He can be my sidekick! In a world where a person's character and value are measured by the power and usefulness of their quirk, Katsuki was the king.

Then there’s Kacchan: Grew up alongside this shiny doe eyed shitnerd who was always watching him, walking behind him, telling him stuff like he's sugoi and his quirk is so cool and he is so cool and wouldn’t it be cool if he also got a quirk as strong as his... And years later, Kacchan is (unsurprisingly) triggered that his Deku is reacting to everyone else and their ‘inferior’ quirks in almost the exact same way that he does with him. He has the biggest LOVE (ONLY!) ME DAMNIT vibes with Izuku! good lordt

The main issue Katsuki encountered after entering U.A and the world of pro heroes, was suddenly not being the obvious choice for best anymore. His usual status of being society’s king was completely upended after his world opened up to people like Iida, Shoto, Enji and Hawks. Something that was so effortless to him before, now required a lot of hard work, if he was going to rise above even the outstanding.

And I think a big reason he feels insecure around other talented people is because a part of him will always want to stay the coolest and strongest in Izuku’s eyes! That’s why Izuku acknowledging others sets him off a little. He knows what Izuku’s like… but he still wants to be the coolest to him, unquestionably sugoi and stay Izuku’s #1.

And sometimes it’s almost like, unless Izuku is the one doing the praising and fanboying Katsuki and only Katsuki, there's just no meaning to any of it for him.

It was only ever Izuku.

Growing up, surrounded by admiration from people who never dared to stand up to Katsuki... ultimately, it was only ever Izuku who valued his own set of principles and stood up to him when he was wrong. Because Izuku... was always honest with him, about everything. He let Katsuki know when he didn't approve of his behaviour, which meant the times Izuku did praise him was something that could be trusted. It didn't feel like the empty praise from everyone around him who only saw him for his quirk. It didn't feel like a lie.

Katsuki eventually realised the reason Izuku faced him was because Izuku genuinely cares. He saw all of him and despite intimately knowing his weaknesses and flaws not once did Izuku stop believing in him... so before Katsuki knew it, Izuku became the only person whose attention and approval actually meant something to him.

Can you blame him, though? Izuku’s the one who has been faithfully at Katsuki's side his entire life, sharing his dreams, believing in the best of him, gently encouraging him to do better than his worst, teaching him kindness of the heart and heroic sacrifice and finally… what it means to love someone so fiercely, you could give your everything and call it by their name.

Katsuki’s forever hero who always comes running to save him, no matter what. His one and only constant. How could he not become completely intertwined with him and fall hopelessly in love?

yandere class 1a hcs because im a degenerate (seperate and togetherish)

okay, for a bit of context, the reader has an earthbending quirk where they can bend anything that comes from the earth (obvs) and theyre very talented at it! theyre so good that if theres even a speck of dirt in a glass of water they could bend it (which is why they get mistaken for having a quirk that controls all the elements instead of just earth)

however, a really big drawback is the fact that they have to be barefoot/wear thin shoes to bend properly so they feel more in-tune with the earth and whatnot

another drawback is that they can feel and "hear" a lot of things with their quirk as long as their wearing thin/no shoes, so hearing other people talk while they can feel the earth rumble beneath them is a bit overwhelming, which is why i feel that the reader wouldnt talk as to not overwhelm themselves too much

however, that doesnt stop the chaotic class 1a, because of course it doesnt

when y/n transfers to ua, the class immediately falls in love with them!

their bubbly personality, their kindness, their smile

if the class could make a list about all the things they love about y/n, it would be at least a lightyear long

i feel like tokoyami, darkshadow and the bakusquad would be the most adamant on trying to get them to speak to them

because even though they like it when they pay attention and sign to them, they need to hear their darling speak!!!

it'd be pretty funny if dark shadow scared them to try and get them to make even the tiiiiiniest noise and y/n turns around slowly and stares until he retreats back to tokoyami (he was a bit jealous that he wasnt looked at like that by them, but whatever)

one day, denki walks by y/n's dorm and hears a voice--their voice

his heart starts beating fast bc omg!!!! he finally heard their beautiful voice!!!

y/n, who can literally feel heartbeats thru their feet, opens the door and is in shock (the pun was intended) that denki is just standing there like the lovesick buffoon he is he totally got their voice recorded too

y/n asks if they can see his phone so they can "record" their singing voice

they then proceed to delete the recording

denki is FLOORED, his flabbers are ghasted!!!

uhhh i dont feel like writing more of the story so heres a rapid fire of random ideas

the whole class has definitely pretended to be sick/hurt multiple times so that their sweet darling would "nurse" them back to "health"

one time shoto used his quirk to make his body hot so it would seem like a fever and y/n touched his forehead and said "omg sho, ur so hot!!! :((("

he fainted from that and had to be taken to the nurse for realsies

izuku has broken his bones just so y/n would give him attention

which is, i kid you not, what made them realize they could bend bone

they taught themselves how to mend, break, and move bone to their will and izuku was so proud!!! (btw he totally has multiple notebooks abt them and their quirk)

iida and todoroki have tried multiple times to pay the reader to talk

mina got them to speak by giving them kool-aid jammers and white peaches

there have been so many times y/n has made ochako so happy that she floats

they have to use their quirk to get her downnnn

there was one time the class went to a pool and tsuyu said it was cold :( so y/n literally bent lava ever-so-slightly closer to the surface of the earth to make sure she wasnt as cold

bakugo has yelled at y/n to talk and they've signed "shh, im mewing" so many times

speaking of them signing, during the sports festival i feeel liek they could body shinso so easily

they learned that they could bend bone AND they never talk, so they just bend his ass out of the ring

Touya and you were best friends before he died, always together. His father hated it, not wanting his children to associate with anyone. Touya and you were tied together by the universe or so his mother always said. But it was until the night he died; the universe tore you both apart from each other. You were saddened by the death of your best friend, knowing he wouldn’t want you to be sad forever. You lived every day for him because he couldn’t.

Touya was always at the back of your mind every day, he would never be forgotten. Deep in your heart you wanted him to be out there in the world safe away from his father and not dead. You knew he would never come back, and the world would move on from the death of Endeavor’s son Touya Todoroki. That’s what happened: everyone moved on with their lives and forgot about the death of an abused, scared little boy that wanted some form of love from his father. The sad truth was that he never really died that night.

“I brought you daffodils in a pretty string

But they won't flower like they did last spring”

Dabi sighed as he watched from afar where he was “buried”, there was the same person he loved as a child. He always watched over her since he “died” and never once did he abandon her. He wished he could walk up to her and wrap his scarred arms around his beloved friend.

The one that truly believed in him when his father didn’t. The one that always stood strong in front of him when he couldn’t get back up. He saw the tears run down her cheeks as she pressed a kiss to her fingertips and then put those lightly kissed fingertips to the gravestone of Touya. He watched as she walked out of the cemetery with her head held high with fire in her eyes.

“And if somebody hurts you, I wanna fight

But my hands been broken, one too many times”

You were always trying to exploit the abusive ways of Enji Todoroki and what you had witnessed watching Touya grow. The torture that he pushed Touya through before his death and what he put Shoto and the others through.

After Touya died you never left the little brother’s side because you wanted to protect him when you could. But of course, Enji was able to keep you from the youngest Todoroki three years after Touya’s death. You made it your life’s mission to tarnish the hero’s reputation.

You were on your way to meet Natsuo for your weekly study group. You both go to the same college and he is the only way you can stay in touch with Shoto. Walking into the library, you see the white-haired teenager sitting at the usual table but you notice someone next to him as you get closer.

You pulled the chair out in front of Natsuo and looked up to see no so little Shoto. Your smile grew in size seeing the kid that you promised Touya you would protect. You felt a sense of security that he wasn’t at home with his father, knowing the torture he has probably gone through.

“Hey Shoto! How are you doing?”

He looked up from his phone realizing someone was talking to him. He was taken back to see the girl that Touya always brought home to play with his other siblings while he was pushed into training endlessly. Shoto blanked for a few seconds and then came to his older brother waving his hand in front of his face. When he blinked to make his eyes focus on you and his brother, he saw the concern on both of your faces.

“You okay sho?” you asked.

He looked at you saying, “Yeah… Yeah... I’m just surprised to see you after all this time.”

You smiled at him, “You’ve grown so much, Sho. I hope you’re enjoying going to UA this year.”

He looked at you and smiled while saying, “Yeah it's good. I’m making some friends too.”

You nodded your head saying, “Good Shoto for you. Touya would be proud of you. I’m proud of you everytime Natsuo says something about you.”

Shoto shockingly looks at his older brother, “You talk about me to other people?”, who just looked at him with a toothy smile.

Natsuo turned back to you with a serious face saying, “So you still out to get my dad? Not that I care! He has it coming.”

You nodded your head yes with a sad smile, Natuso started speaking again, “I hope you are able to show the world the truth about Enji. He deserves to be torn down from his throne.”

You looked at him with a smile, “I’ll tear him down even if it kills me in the process, Natsuo. Just make sure to take care of each other if I die, okay?”

Natsuo looked at you sadly before nodding his head at you in agreement, “I know y/n. I’ll never let anything happen to them.”

Shoto during this whole conversation was thinking about how you were going to bring down his father and how it was going to destroy you in the process. He knew his father would do everything to save his reputation. Even making you disappear would be something he would do. When Shoto came to after his thoughts, he looked up to see you smiling at him with a sad look on your eyes.

“Okay let’s get studying so I can leave and start my plans to destroy your father's reputation,” you said laughing while getting your books out.

Shoto and Natsuo saw that the smile didn’t reach your eyes. To be honest you were scared of the outcome of showing the world the true Enji, but you knew that you had to do it for Touya’s sake. You looked up to see the two boys smiling at you with concern, you sighed.

“C’mon stop looking at me like that… I’ll be safe. It’s my middle name,” Natsuo rolled his eyes, “Natsuo I saw that. I’ll be as safe as I can. I promise. Now c'mon let’s study. I have work after this, I can’t be late again.”

Before you guys got into studying you said something towards Shoto, “You know Sho, you look so similar to Touya when he was a kid. That makes me happy that I can still see him in some ways.”

You said this with a sad smile on your face before looking back at your textbook. Shoto and Natuso looked at each other then back at you to see you wiping away the tears that were falling down your cheeks on to the textbook. Natsuo reached out to touch your hand in a comforting way.

Looking up at him smiling and then looking at Shoto, “I’m proud of you four, especially after what you dealt with. None of you deserve that treatment from your parents. I will do everything in my power to show the world the truth.”

“So I'll use my voice, I'll be so fucking rude

Shoto todoroki x reader festival

A/n: you worked on the raid to save eri with the nighteye agency but you made up your classes because you did them at night earlier in the week.

⚠️: spoilers, fem reader' you are in the band on the clarinet. Kissing

"It feels like we haven't been here in forever" tyu said as you and the your classmates walked to the dorm building. "Wow this feels weird" you say adjusting you bay strap. You walked up to the blinding and opened the door for your class mates. They went it and you followed after they walked in

"There you are" mineta said as he ran up to your group "we we're all scared" the class said in a gamble of words of worry. "Here is a cake" sato said. One second later torū had you, tyu, and uraraka in a hug what was extremely tight, you were struggling to breathe this uraraka said "that bit tight i can't breathe"

Torū relaxed her arms around you. "Sorry" she mumbled "it is ok" you say patting he arm. You saw todoroki looking down st the floor. You slipped out of the mess and over to him "hey sho" you say

"Hello" he said "are you ok"

"I'm ok sho" you said as he pulled you in by th the waist and put his head on your shoulder "I was worried about you" he said as you put you arms around him "I'm going to bed rhe extra training starts tomorrow" he said before kissing you good night

"I love you" you said calmly before he said it back and walk to the Elevator to head to his dorm. You walked back over the the mess next to kirishima. Then iida jump in front of the group and yelled for them to stop. Iida then walked up to the group including you and yelled "do you have any idea how worried I was for you all if was horrible that if you died." Iida said shaking deku by the shoulders

"I'll go make some tea" momo said running to the kitchen. Sato tried to make dkeua dn kirishima eat some of the cake. Yiu said goodbye and good night to your classmates as you went to your dorm room to get some sleep.

The next day it was announced that you had rhe school festive coming up. You sat in your seat as kirishima jumped up and objected out of safety but wa stood this was for everyone else.

"You must pick a organization and original program" aizawa said before passing out. Iida went to the front of rhe class to start a brainstorm section some of rhe things said out loud were. "Maid Cafe, mochi shop, arm wrestling, fun house, disco, hero quiz, frog song, petting zoo, soda stall" the soda was fro? Todoroki obviously "fight to the death, dark fest, twinkle extravaganza, a skit," yiu though in a "magic show"

So you had 20 options. A bunch got cute for beings to vague or inappropriate. The magic show was cut for being to vague. "Who said history presentation and study group" torū ask as iida and momo hid their faces.

Iida yelled "be quite" which did not work. Soon the ball went off. "We will pick by tonight" said kirishima.

That night the other raid team members went to extra classes while yiu had finished them by not sleeping for a few nights. "Where is the raid team" ojiro asked as you walked from the elevator your hair tied up and you were waring pajamas pants and a sweater that was probably shoto's "they are working on extra classes" you said holding a cup of tea.

"What about you [lastname]" tokoyami asked

"I made up my classes already with midnight and mic" you said crossing your legs on the couch next to shoto. "So I was looking over the list and we have put stran on the other students so we should do something to lift there sprints." Iida said

"I agree" momo said "we are training to be heros she we must be aware of what we cause."

"So no food" iida said "what else could we do"

Sero said calmly "a zoo sounds smelly" yiu nodded in agreement

"a skit would be good" jiro said

Mina said "what about a dance party" at that todoroki stood up and walked to the computer with the list of ideas "a dance party would be fun"

He then pulled up a video of Rave and mineta said "I didn't expect that from todoroki, wait are you a raver"

"No I agree that it needs to be fun for the other courses. In order for that we should have some sort of entertainment, I got rhe idea from extra exam training" you mind pictured yiu stoic boyfriend and bakugou at and 80s themed dance party which made yiu laugh a bit.

"Interesting" iida said looking at the laptop with the video "singing an dancing."

Sero pipe in "we don't know how to dance and no one wants to see a crazy routine"

Mina yelled "I can teach yall"

"Hold on we need some amazing jams" mineta yelled. "Jiro can do that" torū said. Everyone's eye went to jiro and she looked shocked

"we can perform live" torū said as jiro said "music is just a hobby"

"Why not use to to make people smile" kota said as jiro looked shocked "after what yall said if I don't do it wouldn't be rocken."

It was chosen to be a concert. now all was need was for roles to be picked. you walked out of the school building with mina and torū. you heard some of the gen ed kids talk about how the villain attacks and dorms were the hero classes fault. you just ignored them and kept walking to the 1-A dorms.

when you ot to the droms you and you class stated to talk about how you were going to do the concert. "we can do a club song" jiro said then she asked "does anyone play" everyone was silent till you said "I played the Clarinet in middle school."

jiro's head shot up and said "perfect"

then kaminari said "bakugou didn't you say do played the drum as a kid." bakugou looked pissed off and tried to walk away but the class asked to hear him play. so jiro got a drum set and got bakugou to play.

"bakugou has to be the drummer" mina said as the class looked in shock.

Bakugou turned and said "don't you get it we are trying to help the other classes but we caused the stress in the first place so we're just trying to make our selfs feel better"

"That is true did we think it thought" iid said to momo

"You didn't help us pick so you don't get a say" todoroki said to bakugou.

"If we're putting on a show we will have to kill them with the music" bakugou said in a oddly calm tone

"BAKUGOU" the a class cheered

"This is amazing" torū said jumping on jiro". "Yup" jiro said happily. "We'll do our best"

"Now we need the rest of the band" jiro said

"As a part of my classical education I learned how to play the piano" momo said

"Perfect" jiro said

Mina whined "I wanted the girls to get together for a dance number but I think we'll be ok with out momo and [yourname] and you'll be cute on stage"

"Base is my specialty so now we need gathers and vocals" jiro said

"So does that mean every one else will be dancing" ojiro asked

"I doubt this will be enough to get the Audience pumped up" iida said

"In the video I showed it ha-" todoroki was cut off by mina

"Special affects" mjna yelled.

"Yup" you said

"This is what we need" mina said showing a video of a rave "there are sparks and lights and streamers.

"We need and explosion of color" torū said

"We can have uraraka make todoroki and kirishima flout and have kirishima chop away at todorokis ice and have aoyama be a disco ba" mina said happily

"You want mwa to be a disco ball" aoyama said "well I was born do to this"

Then the other raid team members walked in to see the class talking about jobs "hey we're done making up classes" uraraka said looking exhausted

"I see" tyu said as yiu gave her the run down on the jobs

"Bakugou" Kirishima said "on the durms is a little odd"

"YOU GOT A PROBLEM" bakugou yelled at uraraka, tyu, and kirishima who all shock there heads

"Questions, who's singing" tyu asked jiro

"We haven't got that figured out yet" jiro said

"Don't it have to be you" uraraka asked

"I could do it" mineta said

"Just imagine the singing disco ball" aoyama said

"Guy I'm a good singer" Kirishima said

Jiro was handed a mic and sang an amazing piece with high and low notes that blew way you and your class. "Jiro that was amazing" you said as she finished the song

"Jiro is the singer" iida said

"Now guitars" jiro said as kaminari, mineta volunteered to play

"Don't try if you not going to kill it" Bakugou said as kaminari picked up and guitar and played a simple yet amazing song. Rhem tokoyami picked up a guitar and revealed he played for a while before getting stamped by the F cord.

Around 1:00am rhe roles were finalized with the dance, band, and affects teams. "Rest up team tomorrow we start the work iida said as everyone went to bed. You and shoto talk about your roles in rhe festival and you ended up falling asleep together in your dorm room.

Over the next few weeks you worked on the song 'hero too' the main song of the show. You had just finished the 4 practice play though if the song when kirishima said eri was here. Ran out to see her she looked at yiu and said shyly "I recognize you with the [haircolor] hair"

"Hi eri I'm [yourname]" you said getting down to her level. She waved back as deku and togata took he on a school tour. The. Yiu continued working on the song

Today was the day of the show. You got in to your band uniform. It was orange t-shirt with a jean mid lingth skirt that went to just over your knees. You were waiting for deku before going on stage. You and todoroki were standing together before the show started. As deku made it to the stage you ran out on stage before you ran out you kissed todoroki on the cheek. You grabbed your clarinet and the song started as bakugou yelled "our sound will kill you"

"Thanks for coming out today" jiro said as the song began. "We hope you enjoy" the beat dropped after a bit in the song. the gym it exploded with music and color. You moved one of your hands to make a bright amount of color with your quirk.

The first song ended as the next one started, yiu played 4 more songs or various levels of power. After the performance you went to the 1-B performance of there play.

After the shows and plays you helped move extra ice and equipment with your quirk making them float. After a while of cleaning up your got to explore the festival with shoto hand in hand

"Hey [nickname]" shoto asked

"Yes" you said Turing your head to him as you walked by the support course's work

As you exited the booth yiu got the photos. Yiu looked at them and loved them. They were amazing. You saw shoto looking at them then pulling his phone out of it case and putting the photos in the case. He put the case back on and took your hand and continued walking around the festival

"No, no, Eijiro, you're holding it wrong!"

"Gah- sorry, dude!"

Shoto walked up to the redhead, grabbing the violin out of the older boys' grip. "You're meant to place it here on your shoulder - like this. Then, place your chin on the small pedestal - not directly! Only off to the side a little." Shoto kept on explaining to Eijiro Kirishima how to hold a violin directly until Shoto took a step back, nodding to the other redhead as he got it done correctly.

A proud smile creased Kirishima's face.

You see, yesterday afternoon Shoto was hanging out by himself in his room and Kirishima was sent by Iida and Yaoyorozu to ask Shoto if he wanted to join the class in going out to the park outside of the dorms for a day.

Instead of thinking to knock on the younger's door, Eijiro instead barged into the room, finding Shoto fiddling with a violin and a bow.

("Bro, you can play the violin?!"

"Yes."

"That's so manly. You gotta teach me sometime!"

"I'll teach you tomorrow afternoon if you promise to keep this a secret, Kiri."

"Your secrets safe with me dude!")

"Before we move on to using the bow, try learning about the strings - each string is a different pitch and note. From thickest to thinnest, it goes: G, D A, E - they're the basics."

Kirishima tilts head to the side in question. "How do you remember the order of the letters, Todobro?"

"The teacher who taught me to play the violin told me a saying that goes 'Good Dogs Always Eat' each letter at the beginning is the meaning for the strings."

Kirishima cringed a small bit, "I think you need to come up with a better saying than that..."

Todoroki shrugs in response.

For the next couple hours, Shoto taught the basics on how to play the violin for Eijiro, sometimes stepping in if he noticed something off.

"One of the most easiest songs to learn on a violin is the nursery rhyme: twinkle twinkle little star." Shoto walks over to his futon where the violin case lied unzipped. He grabs a small orange book from the bottom of the case.

The papers of the book were slightly worn down and held some creases here and there. A massive unbeatable fold in the top corner of it where most of the pages lifted upwards.

Whilst walking over back to Eijiro Kirishima, he flipped through the orange book for a minute or so until he came to a stop at the page he was looking for.

One side of the page held the notes, rhythms, beats, etcetera of the song "twinkle twinkle little star."

"We'll learn over the simpler notes first. If you improve, then it'll get harder."

"Right!"

Over the next month or so the two redheads hungout together with Shoto teaching Eijiro on how to play the string instrument - at first Shoto admittedly thought the boy was hopeless as he took longer than expected to understand the basics on how to use the instrumental tool until in the middle of the month Eijiro picked up the pace.

It wasn't until the next month afterwards that Shoto was once again in his bedroom, he was sitting on his futon writing down ways on how to teacher the other boy until his focus turned away from his notebook and to his door - "Come in." He told whoever it was, he thought it was Kirishima for a second until he saw the familiar figure of Kyoka Jiro - although Eijiro Kirishima was standing behind the girl, a sheepish look creased his face.

What has the redhead gotten up to now? Was the thought that Shoto held.

"Jiro?"

"Hey dude," she greeted the dyad boy, "I heard from Kirishima that you play violin and wanted to check it out."

Shoto glared at Eijiro, who seemed to cower behind Kyoka's back.

"I thought I told you not to tell anyone?"

"She caught me in the act, Sho!" The redhead whimpered.

Jiro decided to steer the subject away from the redhead. "Can I see?"

Shoto hesitated for a second as he then stands from where he sat upon his futon, heading to one of the corners of his room where violin in its case lied, he grabs it and kneels back onto his futon after walking back over to it.

Settling the violin down he grabs the bow first, tightening the strings so they weren't very loose and digs through a small pocket inside of the violin case, he grabs a small item and smooths its residue over the strings then places it back in its small pocket.

After that, Shoto grabbed the violin itself, plucked at the strings individually a few times, every now and then checking if they're in tune.

He then stands, with the bow in his right hand and the violin rested upon his left shoulder, he placed his fingers up and down the bridge, placing the edge of the bows strings in between where his chin rested and the bridge.

He counted a couple of seconds inside of his mind and then started to move his right hand.

The tune he played echoed around his room. The music was powerful and inspiring. It held so much more emotion, Jiro thought, than what Shoto truly let's on. The music was like a cry for help in some way - to be free of this cage he was born in.

Kirishima and Jiro watched in silence, astonished by the power Shoto held with a singular instrument, the acoustic music went on for over five minutes - somewhere in the middle of the song Shoto plucked the strings, moving his fingers delicately along the black bridge of the violin. His eyes closed as he got into the rhythm of playing until, unfortunately, to the duo nearby his door, he stopped.

He opened his eyes again once he heard the other two clapping in awe for him.

"Why didn't you say you could play a violin at the Music Festival?" Jiro asked.

Shoto shrugged, "I don't like usually playing in front of people - especially if my father could possibly see me playing this."

Jiro hummed as an idea popped into her mind, "we should definitely play music some time together. Just us two together to begin with if you like, and when you're comfortable, then Tokoyami and the others could join in, too."

"I could join in too, right? Todobro's been teaching me!" Kirishima butted in to the conversation.

"Sure, Kiri."

Thankfully Together MHA Ships/Writing Sparks for Nov.

I usually write character x reader plots, but I wanted to do some short posts for character x character pairings (that I ship). I'm going to attempt to do a different ship every day for the entire month of November (30 ships at the least though I may do more if I finish early). I'm currently short 3 ships.

hi. feel free to ignore since i don't have raws myself but based on JP fanworks i've read & what i've heard in the anime, it seems like Tokoyami doesn't call hawks "shishou" (師匠/master), but "shi" (師/mentor) instead. sometimes he adds よ for emphasis so maybe that's why it sounded like shishou? sorry to intrude but i really look forward to any tokoyami & hawks meta if you write about them again :) have a pleasant day!

You're right about 271! I took Caleb's master translation as shishou but the Japanese raw indeed just has "shi" without the added "sho", at least in 271. He also calls him "shi" in 201 (though caleb just says Hawks when he translates that time). Will point out I haven't watched those anime episodes so I don't know what he says verbally.

However, I will argue with you on the point of how the Japanese fandom interprets it. If you look up 師匠 and Hawks's name, there are countless links to Tokoyami and Hawks being discussed by Japanese fans as "Master and Student" using full-on shishou to describe their relationship. Shi can be understood to be master as well as mentor - the additive 匠 is the one that essentially makes pertained to a certain "craft/skill". But the relationship is still contained within Shi itself.

Again, he's not calling him sensei (a title of Teacher), but 師 which makes up 師匠. It can be translated as teacher, mentor, master, etc - given who Tokoyami is (dramatic), the strength of the feelings he has for Hawks, and the fact the Japanese fandom seem themselves to interpret the relationship (from Fumi's eyes) as Master and Disciple, I think we can still safely use "Master". It's still a deeply respectful term, and given the other master-student relationships never really have such a big emphasis on hierarchy as this one, makes it all the more notable.

I have a fun idea for that BnH Quirk-Swap Soulmates for A-1 Class you have (the one where everyone in A-1 are Soulmates)...

Tokoyami and Shouji already being established as Soulmates b4 meeting their class (like maybe 3 years prior to their application to UA). They already know how to use each other's Quirk in a way that suits them (Toko can have wings in this and Shouji's shadow is great for surprise attacks and sneaking) and have already figured out how often their Quirks swap.

So when the whole class swaps Quirks...

And a lot of confusion, which obviously messes up the timetable that Sho/Toko already had.

Also during the first Mass Swap, Tokoyami get's Bakugo's Quirk (which is scary if you're not expecting it) and Shouji ends up with the One for All (which, oops, breaks the nearby desks).

All the Quirks swapping "randomly" kind of kills a lot of the pre-established plans Tokoyami and Shouji had. Thankfully Izuku had been keeping a meticulous record of who, when, and which Quirk has been swapped.

Bonus: Tokoyami and Shouji love to snuggle!!! Toko fits nicely in Shouji's lap!

I'm gonna take a wild guess on what your favorite ship is! Which like. Valid.

I do keep debating on this AU and what triggers the Soulmate Bond, and there are pros and cons to a lot of things.

If it's just meeting a Soulmate, then the pro would be that some pairs know about the Bond before UA. The Tokoyami/Shoji pair like you mentioned. Kirishima and Mina of course. This could make for some delicious angst with Izuku and Bakugo due to the entire situation surrounding them and could shift so much about the dynamic depending on what one decides to do with it.

But on the other hand. If it is just meeting a Soulmate. Then most of the gang would probably hit the Swap during the Entrance Exam. Which is chaotic as hell ofc. But also just like AAAAAAA.

On the other hand, there's the idea of having some other trigger to it. Whether it be that the youngest Soulmate reaches a certain age, or maybe once all Soulmates have interacted with at least one of the others which connects their Bond to the entire group but only clicks once everyone is connected.

Pros would mean that the characters do get to know each other and speculate and all for a while. They already know each other when the bond clicks in properly, and this would just be a way to more deeply explore the more naturally-made bonds.

But on the flipside.... Yeah it's like. Part of the fun of Soulmate AU nonsense is to have the 'oh shit we're soulmates but we just met!!' chaos.

I could go many a way on it!

First draft sketches of Fumikage Tokoyami’s parents.

Sho Tokoyami is from Japan and has a quirk of a bird head, which gives him the ability to see far distances and has a wider visual range. He’s actually a very approachable and charming guy which contrasts him a bit from his gothic wife and son, but he loves them immensely. He never really had the desire to be a pro-hero and decided to pursue down his more artistic side of being a landscape photographer, but also plays a bit of guitar as well. He comes from a well-off enough family as he first met Ebonee during Junior High at the Cairo-Japanese School, and would later meet up again when Ebonee would come to Tokyo to attend college. He honestly was surprised that Ebonee reciprocated his feelings as even in a world filled with different Quirks, people with mutant quirks weren’t always seen as that attractive to people.

Ebonee Tokoyami is from Egypt and has the quirk of night vision, allowing her to see in even pitch black rooms, though it does require her to wear special sunglasses constantly. However, she also has a secondary quirk, Dark Shadow. Her great-great-grandfather found DS in a hidden tomb, who is actually an ancient person with a quirk that manifested until he was nothing but an immortal shadowbeast. DS made a deal with a man to allow him to use his body as a host in order to survive in the sun in exchange for his power. Since then DS had been passed down genetically to one person of each generation, though over time inherited a dark reputation by some of the people who used him, making Ebonee slightly ostracized and have a more inward personality. But she came to see the truth and love DS as a nice and constant companion. Despite what people said, she decided not to go pro-hero since she abstained from violence and decided to pursue archaeology by studying to see if quirks did in fact exist in ancient societies. She was immediately drawn to Sho’s outgoing personality, and kept in touch with him during high school, until she came to Japan herself.

Anyways, hope you enjoy these. Even if these don’t end up being the case, I hope we can learn more about our favorite Emobird in future chapters!

PS Sorry that these look rough, my scanner is being temperamental and I haven’t actually drawn anything for like…2 years now!
