reading "somebody / reader" fanfictions is not enough anymore. i need to be inside them and experience all myself. because she always do things that i would never
Hello! May i ask if the reader is amab or afab or perhaps gender neutral? I'm a fem so idk if it's alright for me to read seeing as most amab fics don't want any afab readers even in some gender neutral fics too idk y, so that's why I'm asking just incase:)
You probably already mentioned/ clarified this but i'm just making sure, thank u in advance!
Hey! Yeah, the reader is gender neutral but you can read it however you'd like :]
Fem, masc, or neutral yourself, anyone can read whatever I post so I don't mind if you continue to read or not! If the reader technically being gender neutral makes you uncomfortable for any reason, then you can stop reading of course, but if not, then I'm not going to stop you.
Even if I do write something that's afab or amab, everyone can still read it! Though as of now, the reader is gender neutral :]
I hate it when I find a fic I like, and I check the author's other works, and I find that they've written a fic that's exactly the plot, timeline, ship and characters I was looking for months ago, but couldn't find because it wasn't tagged properly!! Learn how to tag people!!! Help readers find your work!!
hey so. i got the book "loveless" by alice oseman. and i'm ace (and questioning arospec), so it hit me really hard. i love it. i recommend it. i think everybody should read it and i want to read it again because i love it so much.
I keep seeing "aesthetic" pictures of bookshelves here. That's cool, fine, normal, expected in my field of interests. But what is the appeal of having a bookshelf with the spines of the books turned inwards so you only see the pages? Don't you want to be able to see the book spines so you can grab them? The spines are pretty, why hide them? I don't understand
The horrors of been a very sensible person starts and never end with clicking into a new fan fic excited and see all the trigger warning AFTER getting all pumped with the summary and having to click back knowing i will only suffer through it 🤧🤧
Me: i hate cliches
Piece of media: she said she'll come back and he's been waiting this entire time
Me: OMG SHE SAID SHE'LL COME BACK AND HES BEEN WAITING THIS ENTIRE TIME 😭
what is up with authors thinking the only trauma that women can go through is SA, especially in a fantasy world? Most of the time it’s not even plot relevant.
I have like 3 alternatives that I can give right now: cursed by some witch or something to have constant thoughts and visions of how your loved ones will die, morality trauma (usually translated to sex shame, insecurity in self etc), witnessing something terrifying like their friend being torn apart by a pack of wolves or a fantasy creature (idk i’m sleepy).
These aren’t the best, but I wish that authors would think of something else. Also, not to say that SA is not important to discuss in books, it is 100%. but between real life experiences that women have to go through and real life threats that exist for us everyday, I think it’s important that there is an escape from that sometimes, especially in a fantasy world where women can exist without the threats that the real world has.
