All of this and also consider things they can do that doesn't necessarily involve kidnapping you, but rather 'trapping' you instead in a different way.

These guys are so wealthy they can buy out whatever space you're working in and take it over entirely, or basically be the sole reason you can even afford to live with how much they give you in tips/donations/etc.

There are so many ways they could easily take over your life and make you dependent on them its not even funny, and honestly is kind of terrifying.

Even on the topic of babys, they could just- make a clone! Or a baby! With your DNA! If you don't want one, and find some way to probably guilt trip you into raising it. Maybe even berate how you live to such a degree that you cave and ask if you could live with them because, oh, they have so much room and where they live is definitely safer and just better than the little apartment you live in somewhere in an extra shady part of Gotham. You'll make it up to them, you swear, you're just... doing this for your baby, it's for the best. (They totally didn't plant that idea in your mind while you were mid-freak out over suddenly being a 'parent', nooo...)

Your job surely isn't enough... let them help, they can pay for everything, no need to feel bad! But... it is quite the sum.. oh, and your apartment isn't nearly enough. It's so dangerous and filled with so many hazards! Not to mention the neighborhood, and do they even have to mention that you have no idea what you're doing? Because everyone can tell, you know it, but, ah, you've got this, right? If anything happens, they're just a call away! Though, good luck... you'll definitely need it. (They say, planning to make your life miserable just so you come crawling to them, begging for their help.)

Even then, if you're able to confidently raise the kid on your own, then they'll just do the opposite and keep the kid from you.

Oh, you want to drop them off at school? Then come to the manor first, or at least let someone come with you for protection. This is Gotham, after all! You want to celebrate their birthday? Sorry, it's happening at the manor or a really nice place that's only invite only, and if you want to see them then you need to do this little thing for them, okay :)? If you don't, who knows, maybe they'll start calling someone else mama/papa/baba over here... or you'll miss their first steps... :(

Any little thing, they'll hang over your head and essentially keep your kid hostage until you give them what they want. Just give in and you can have your kid, no need to fight or be so far away... you're all family here, right? :]? They can help! They promise. Almost too confident and happily, might I add.

Anyway, scenarios where the fam has you running to them instead, and or completely unaware that you're falling into their trap >>>>>>>

i think people don’t talk enough about how much power yan!batfam has with manipulating their s/o. like there are so many options prior to kidnapping courtesy of their big wrinkly brains and phat ass wallets.

babytrapping for example!!

like for afab reader, they’d definitely use their money to promote baby advertisements just to get you in that baby fever. maybe even get you a job where you’d be exposed to the cutest ones.

it’s only after you realize that Damian really isn’t going to pull out and that he took your “put a baby in me” seriously that you feel some regret

luckily your children are adorable. you just have an inkling that your baby daddies might be working with them to keep stuck to their side… jus a lil bit of suspicion

amab reader / maybe even reader that just doesn’t want children on the other hand is just definitely getting drugged to do something horrid. they might use a throwaway “incubator” as a method to babytrap you. same adverts and manipulation tactics just with an extra victim unless one of the batgirls are up for having your baby.

another less morally bankrupt way of trapping you with children might be either a genetically engineered one made specifically to be controlled. they’ll pretend it’s someone they found abandoned and took in that just doesn’t want to be apart from you.

in short, gahd i need more babytrapping fics with batfam. literally any kind. smut or not.

Birthday

[Yandere Batfam × Gender Neutral! Reader]

[Warnings: Implied-ish Kidnapping, Reader is Restrained, Yandere Implications (?)]

(Happy birthday to me, and whoever reads this too if it's your birthday :]. Something short and sweet for your troubles! Not proofread or really edited.)

When you finally came to, you couldn't see anything at first. You tried to move, but only found yourself bound to something you couldn’t see. All you could tell was that you were sitting, and that your wrists, along with your ankles, were tied down.

Maybe you’d say something, or even call out to see if anyone was around or could help you, but you didn't. Despite the deafening silence and complete darkness, you could've sworn that there are others in the room with you… wherever you are. Even if you couldn't see them or hear them, and honestly you didn't know if that made things better or worse.

You couldn't say how many of them there are, but it was enough for them to surround you - or maybe it was only one or two people whose presence was enough to make you feel surrounded and suffocating. Though, no matter which turned out to be true, that didn't change the reality of the situation.

You were trapped in a dark room with someone, bound to what felt like a chair, and had no means of escape.

Have you been kidnapped? Or were you still in your apartment, just tied to one of your chairs?

… Again, you didn't know what was worse.

The ropes that held your wrists and ankles burned and dug into your skin when you moved even the slightest bit.

However, you didn't have much of a chance to move anymore before you felt someone place their hands on your shoulders, and slowly pulled you to sit back, as if trying to get you comfortable. Yet it only made you tense and straighten your back, but you didn't dare resist nor look back. Their touch was cold, so much so that you could feel it from under your sweater, but you still tried to not make a peep.

It was only now did you feel your heart begin to pound against your chest, with sweat beginning to form and slowly roll down from your skull. You could feel what felt like countless eyes on you, and though you couldn't help but shrink under their invisible gaze, you didn't dare move, or even make a sound. You don't think you could bear being the first, especially not with someone's hands still on you.

It was only a moment after, did something break the deafening silence. It sounded like clicking, or a flick of some kind before a small little flame spawn from the darkness, coming from what seemed to be the tip of a long lighter, even if you could barely make it out.

You watched as the little flame moved, before stopping over what seemed to be the tip of a candle, and stayed there before it lit. Not once did you look away as the little flame jumped from candle to candle, before it was suddenly put out once all the candles were lit. It was only now that you could see that the candles were on top of a cake, one you recognized too well and made your heart drop.

“Happy birthday to you~.” A voice began to sing as the cake was lifted, revealing a sort of blue ‘V’, with the ends almost acting as wings for whatever creature it tried to represent.

The figure began to move, the little flames on the candles revealing more of what laid in the darkness, more things that made the dread inside your chest grow.

“Happy birthday to you~.” The person approached you from the right, revealing four more people as they slowly drew close with each little word and step. Your heart began to race, and your dread only continued to grow.

The first they passed was someone in a black suit that seemed to hold some kind of silver tray by their side. The only thing you noticed about the second was a brown jacket, and the faintest bit of a red symbol, with the third also wearing a red suit with a cape and black straps along the chest, with some kind of gold symbol with bird where the straps intersected right at the center.

The fourth also had a cape with some red on their own suit, but there was some yellow on the inside of the cape, and you could've sworn you could make out the faintest traces of an ‘R’ patch on the uppermost left area of the chest.

The hands on your shoulders felt heavier somehow as you felt another slow, cold bead of sweat roll down from your head, and trail down to your neck.

“Happy birthday~,” The person holding the cake stepped closer, and you could practically feel them beside you as they placed the cake down right in front of you, their arm nearly brushing against your own.

“Dear~,” Suddenly, a sparkler lit at the end of the table, and it came from the left side this time. Whoever was holding it walked down from the left, and very briefly and faintly could you make out three more people.

The one holding the sparkler had an outline of a bat along their chest in yellow, with the majority of their suit being covered in black. They passed by someone whose suit was prominently purple, with their cloak covering most of their outfit, and showing they were wearing a hood as well. The last was mostly in yellow, and they seemed to be wearing something more akin to armor, with a reflective bat insignia on their chest as well.

Just how many people were there?

“Y/n~.” The person finally finished, saying your name right in your ear as the sparkler was placed on the cake. The words ‘Happy Birthday, Y/n! Lot's of love, Your Family ♡’ were written in icing on top of the cake, with a bit of smudged icing on top of the words ‘Your Family’, signifying that they had replaced the name that was originally there, and written over it, with little effort put into them even hiding that fact.

“Happy birthday to you~.” They hummed out with a little chuckle, tone happy-go-lucky and much too light for your liking. Especially when you were in a dark room with several people, tied to a chair with your wrists and ankles tightly bound.

Then, you felt someone's breath against your other ear, and when they spoke, their voice was much deeper and gruffer than the person who sung before.

“Go on, make a wish.”

Chills shot down your spine, and it was only now did you notice the small little blinking red light on the right side of the table, around where the person in the suit stood.

You glanced at the faint lens you could barely make out in the dark, and back at the cake, silently swallowing before you took in a breath, and blew out the candles.

With that, your fate was sealed, and the cake was cut.

Of course, it was your favorite flavor, and made just how you liked it.

Just like how she always made it.

One of the candles is a trick candle, and as it relights it sets off a bomb and the room explodes, the end! :]

Bad news: Author couldn't meet their own deadline :']

Good news: I made a little something anyway just for you guys because you deserve it! And I feel a little bad for not posting anything as of yet- so think of this as my gift to you for being so patient (and I promise some real gifts are coming)

So I'll be posting that in a bit, and maybe even a different kind of sneak peak for Part 3 since I'm almost done writing it! Though to not spoil too much, it'll be like a small bit of its own, even if the event that does happen is in the chapter.

I would say "Man, I really hope Part 3 won't reach novel length" and I don't think it will, but wow it is getting scarily close! Really considering dividing it into 2 parts of its own just so that it isn't so much all at once, even if it wasn't originally written with 2 parts in mind.

On another note, nearly done! Really hoping to post it before my birthday :]

Hi! I was just wondering if you are planning on posting anytime soon or if you've lost interest in this blog!

Heya!

Funny you say that, since I am, in fact, working on some things and other ideas for this blog at the moment, so I do plan on posting soon! Though I'm not sure how soon only because I've been busy and everything (since, unfortunately, author over here is an idiot :])

Though, worry not! For I have yet to lose interest in this blog and writing about the Batfam (they still have me in a very tight choke hold, I assure you), and I don't think I will for a long while. Again, just life on this end is getting in the way, but we are getting there, and I'm working on handling what I have to so I can use the time I have to write for this blog.

I do apologize for being dead for so long, though! I didn't mean to just die off for a while, but I will be making my return!... Even if it might be a little slow at the moment :']

Regardless, I hope you have all been well, and again, I have not lost interest in this blog! And I hope to post and write more, even if I doubt I'll be consistent and such.

Trust me, the moment it also hits all of them that "wait, Alfred already knew all of this stuff about reader? And didn't tell any of us? Didn't tell me?" It's gonna really go down hill. Bruce will be jealous enough for multiple reasons, but as time goes on, and especially after certain... events, the family as a whole will definitely just grow more jealous of Alfred, especially as he still will pull some shit.

Who knew only having one good relationship with the entire family, and having better experiences with said person (who is the only one that knew you 'ran away' to begin with), would get 'special treatment' and be the 'favorite'?

They knew, or- well, they will. But that didn't and won't stop them from hoping.

Helplessly, endlessly, pitifully hoping.

Even if one can only hope for so long.

Hi! I have a question :). Does Alfred try to keep the batfam away from neglected!reader after their kidnapping? You know, if reader gets overwhelmed by all the attention and breakings of boundaries, would Alfred try to do something to make them feel better?

It really depends! Which.. probably isn't the best thing to hear.

Really, Alfred would take advantage of the reader's vulnerability and use that to sneak in some time with them. Make himself look better and further keep the reader in the dark about his own obsession and insanity, still making himself seem to be the most sane person in the entire Batfam. Even if he is one of the worst ones, in my opinion, despite how he wouldn't directly hurt the reader.

Of course, he will 'save' the reader if he deems it necessary, and knows for sure that the situation is getting to them. If he feels as if the Batfam are taking it to far, then he'll try to cool them off, and probably scare them in some way that'd make them back off- if only for a little while.

I won't say that he'd try to hide the reader per se or anything, since his way of hiding them was keeping them to himself, and not really mentioning them to the Batfam until they ran away and (in his mind) essentially went no-contact for months. He's smart enough to know what kind of people are in the Batfam, and the new lengths they'll go to for the reader for one reason or another. He knows that if he tries to hide the reader away now, or keep them away from the family for long, that the Batfam will only get 'restless', and that's a whole problem that Gotham doesn't have to experience again (not that Alfred particularly cares for the city, he just doesn't want to have to deal with said 'restlessness'). Not to mention that Alfred does still care about the family, and now that the reader has "forced his hand", if he has to share, than he will.

Regardless- whereas Alfred won't try to necessarily keep the Batfam away fully, he will step in and try to make the reader feel better, should the family really push them. Both as a means to make himself look better, but also because he does genuinely care about the reader.

He'll do just about anything except let them go and the like. He'll even keep the Batfam 'busy' to give the reader some time to themself, which sort of counts? Even if it is only temporary. Since he does still care about the family, and, again, doesn't want them growing restless without the reader. Though he'll try his best. Especially when he knows if the family 'went too far'.

I hope this answered your question somewhat! I'll admit I'm running low on sleep, so I apologize if I misread or misunderstood something. If you'd like more clarification on anything, feel free to send in another ask if you'd like! :]

I feel like when batfam confronts reader it would be so weird for reader? Like these people they’ve tried desperately to get their attention and here they are talking to her and actually looking at her face? It’d be so overwhelming like imagine a group of strangers crowing you and telling you how much they love you and such?

It is! I will say that much, and even if the Batfam don't just show up all at once (since that would be a little silly and even more overwhelming for both sides), it is still just... odd. Especially when the reader assumes that something is going on, and doesn't even consider the idea that the Batfam is there to just see them, and kind of make sure that they're alive. Not until the 'idea' is shoved in their face, anyway.

Since- not only imagine seeing these strangers that you only know by name and not much else, suddenly showing up and trying to shove themselves back into your life (with the first one to see you just- not treating the situation well at all. And maybe is taking the phrase "forgive and forget" and trying to push it on you a little too much, with more emphasis on the 'forget' part). But just, finally trying to do something other than strive for what you've been beginning to accept is the impossible, and just having that supposed 'impossibility' shoved in your face like it's nothing. Like all of that struggle you went through to even see such a thing as impossible in the first place, was... nothing. Almost meaningless in nature as it is given to you so easily that it's sad. That you effort in the past was almost in vain.

That kind of thing can mess someone up, especially someone that tried so hard. It may make them think a certain way, and that will show as stuff does go wrong.

Then, look at the Batfam. To them, they don't even fully realize the weight of the situation, some of them don't anyway. They can't grasp how much time has passed and the toll it's taken on the reader just yet, because they're more focused on themselves in a way. Yes, they are worried and that is what gets them to look, but then reality is just- shoved in their face (well, more like slapped, but who cares about the details right now?). The reader has become a completely different person now, and that really shows. Not to mention that their attitude towards the Batfam is very different, and, of course, no longer that of someone who is striving to be a part of the family. They have an entire life outside of the Batfam that's basically entirely detached from them, and the family doesn't like that. Some just can't accept it.

Though, all will be revealed and shown as we go on :]

Still debating on make a 2nd teaser/sneak peak, since you guys definitely deserve it and I do still want to show that I've made good progress on Part 3, though if I do that it might be vastly different from the part itself. Lol

Anyway, thanks for sending in the ask, and I agree! It definitely is weird for the reader, even if they don't see everyone all at once. Though when they do see more of the Batfam, that weirdness will only grow, honestly.

Re: goodbye song anon, I actually had an idea for one- it's one of my favorite songs and i thought of it as I was reading the latest chapter! "Ode to the Mets" by the Strokes, since reader plays guitar, I can totally hear it!

[English is not my first language, sorry if there are mistakes] If the reader made a song for Jason and Dick, and it's their way of taking refuge...then, did they make a "farewell" song for the Batfamily?

I don't know, I imagine the reader singing something like Dollhouse by Melanie Martínez or El hijo de Hernández Of the el cuarteto de nos.

Honestly I didn't really think about that- but now that you mention it, they probably have!

I can imagine that there are many different versions and iterations of that "Farewell/Goodbye" song that the reader has written for the Batfam. Mostly because I feel like the more they grew up, especially when they reached high school, the idea sort of just... dawned on them that they'll have to leave one day, one way or another. Either to pursue Music, or just have their own space, or whatever the reason may be- they'll have to leave the manor one day.

Which, said thoughts would lead to the reader just writing down potential "Farewell/Goodbye" songs to the Batfam, especially in moments where they really feel the loneliness in the Manor, and that distance between them and the rest of the family. Though at times they may try to write a proper one- which, those days leading up to the day the reader impulsively left, along with the months they spent away from the Manor and its residents/visitors- would be those times. But many of those versions do just stay as an idea or lyric sheet.

Some do make it to the stage where the reader is actually composing the song, but even if they're finished (which I can imagine that most songs in that 'composition stage' aren't finished at all either), they remain unpublished/private and the reader just kind of keeps the songs to themself.

In a heavily emotional moment, they might sing one out just to vent or something along those lines, and close friends may know that the songs exist- but I can't see it being something that the reader is totally open about or shares, even when asked.

Though, yes! To answer your question, the reader has written a kind of "Farewell/Goodbye" song to the Batfam. They just keep said song(s) private, and most are unfinished.

Lowk I could imagine some more angsty scenarios with the not here fic. Like imagine reader getting bullied as a student but when they tries to tell batfam they simply blow reader off. So when batfam does find reader and get all clingy and meddlesome in their life, I can imagine a “why now? Where were you then? Why didn’t you meddle then?” Sorry I like imagining lots of angst 😭

You. You- it's anon's like you that really make me think that some of y'all can read my mind sometimes. Which isn't bad! Though I do find it both hilarious and a little scary with how close some of y'all ideas are to what I have in store/my own ideas. In all honesty-

Anyway!! Yeah! I will say that something similar does happen in canon in the fic, and it's just sad, honestly. Since, y'know, it is a valid question and everything considering things, and- yeah, it's not pretty. Though if you like the kind of "You weren't around when I needed you, so why show up now?" angst, then a scene I'm cooking up will be right up your alley!

Hun you have probably heard this before but take all the time you need and more! Lol. It's your fic, your idea and there is no need to stress on getting it out so fast. You lose nothing if some people ever get bored of waiting, but honestly i know many (including myself) who have waited double digit months for someone to update their fics. Anyway this is just my short way of saying that It's alright to just relax and have fun. Hope this didn't come off too rude or like im making assumptions about you, if you feel no stress, good. 🖤 And even if tumblr ends up lagging due to the lenght of the fic, you could always split it into two like you talked about before. Take it one step at a time, can't wait to find out what happens next!

Though I do feel bad for taking so long since I have been working on it for a while, and even if I will prioritize the quality of Part 3 over getting it out as soon as I can, I am still trying to get to a point where I can get it out in a reasonable amount of time for you guys! And also hopefully produce a Part 3 that will make the wait worth it- even if the length doesn't exactly say anything about the quality of the chapter itself.

Which, trust me, I never intended for Part 3 to be as long as it's becoming now 😅, as I said a bit earlier on another ask, some of the moments that were supposed to be "small/short" are, in fact, not what most would consider short at all :']

I'll be honest and admit that back when I started writing Pt. 3 in September, I honestly thought that the length would be somewhere in between Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 (so about maybe 3/5k - 10k words), only for us to be here. Where Pt. 3 might end up being, (funnily enough) almost 3 times the length of Pt. 2- which I suspect to be around 10k words since by the time I reached 10k on Pt. 3, it was just about as long as Pt. 2.

Pt. 2 alone made tumblr lag on my end, so that's why the length of Pt. 3 is making me so nervous, and though I will split it into two parts if I have to- I will try to keep it as one whole part since, again, I do believe that it's better read that way.

Which, I also keep commenting on the length and everything since, well- Pt. 3 isn't done yet. And I can only look on in slight horror as I keep writing, and knowing I'm not even at the ending yet :']

Regardless of all of that, however, I do deeply appreciate all of you who are waiting, and thank you for your patience and time! I know I haven't been the most active or anything, but I do appreciate everyone and all of the support I've been receiving!! Recently I've reached 1k followers- and have been also trying to think of what to do for that, since that's a huge milestone! And I want to properly thank everyone for the support and everything, but still don't have many ideas for that at the moment :']

As lowkey funny as that would be, I really hope it doesn't get to that point 😭

Though a lot of progress has been made since the last sneak peak- and I've been debating if I should do another sneak peak to not only keep you guys engaged, but to also show that y'know- author over here hasn't been sleeping on Part 3 or anything, and stuff is being done :')

But again, I will be honest, the full length of the part right now is intimidating me a bit, since some parts that were supposed to be short are, in fact, not exactly what someone would call "small" or 'short'.

I would try to do a Part 3 and Part 3.5, but it really is just a better read all in one go, in my opinion, and the first half wouldn't be as good by itself- though that's my opinion. Hopefully that'll show when the full thing does get posted.
