Story: 4 out of 5 Smut: 4 out of 5
Mother of monsters, indeed.
This book is a rollercoaster of emotions! The Seelie King would have you believe this is a story about good versus evil, and it is, but the evil ones are not who the king suggests.
With the Seelie princess “stolen”, I almost hated Fia for how she reacted once placed in the Unseelie kingdom. But she soon learns not all Unseelie are terrible and that her “uncle” and his trusted advisors were wrong.
When Fia finally adjusts to her new home and her connection to the Unseelie Prince, I was so happy! And then their wedding brought forth the tears, as well as the misunderstanding afterwards, but Fia getting revenge cemented my love for her.
Oh and did I mention there’s a dragon..? Haha
Now enjoy my ramblings...
* So the prince of Eldorn is being held prisoner in Callula..? 👀
* Why do I get the feeling Regin is going to be the jealous best friend?
* Her uncle wants to kill Colvin? Fuck him. I don’t even know this Prince but I like him so far..
* Holy shit, she set him free in the middle of the night. AND HE KISSED HER!
* Colvin is a dragon?!
* Oh, Fia, you fool. Did you seriously tell Regin that you released Colvin?
* Don’t you “three months later” me 😤
* Oh no. Did you seriously start an affair with Regin? You really are a fool.
* Damn. Fia being outed by the Unseelie Queen made her “a traitor to the crown” and now her uncle, the king, has everyone hunting her. What dicks.
* Fuck you, Regin! You gave her up. That was such a dick move.
* Colvin’s there!
* They’re taking her 😨 She’s to marry him. And boy was he not happy with the guard who pushed Fia and made her cut open her head. Yikes. That dude was gutted 😂
* Holy shit. Colvin and Fia getting hot and heavy in her closet.. 😏
* Mates, mates, mates.
* And then getting interrupted in his room by his mother 😂
* Even if this Seelie Princess of mine could somehow find it within herself to stomach my presence, to enjoy me as I did her, any future she might find herself able to envision would not arrive. No matter how much I wished to give her everything.
* A blood drinking dragon. Nice 😏
* The audacity of Regin to show up to the engagement ball and say he misses Fia. Fuck you, dude. And Fia, what the fuck?! He’s a traitor. Don’t entertain him.
* He was every fear I’d ever had and every wish I’d never known I’d longed for. A soul as dark as night and a heart of cloudless mornings, this contradiction of a male had me tethered tightly to him long before he made it irreversible.
* Holy hell. They mated!
* He’s poisoning himself 🥺
* Holy shit. Her dragon mate saved her from the bloodhounds. God I want a dragon.
* Lmao. He literally picked her up with his teeth and dropped her onto his back 😂
* You know.. I’m not even mad that the queen and Colvin knew Fia was his suspected mate long before she found him in that dungeon. The queen is right.. she would have rotted under her “uncle’s” thumb.
* “Right now, I need you to leave.” // “Fine, but don’t you dare forget… I fucking love you, Fia. I’ll love you regardless of what you choose to do with me. Until every star burns out.”
* They fucking drugged them at their wedding?! Fuck these assholes!
* Break my fucking heart why don’t you 😭
* Fuck yes. She killed her “uncle” and crowned her aunt queen 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
* They had a daughter 😭😭😭
* “Until every star burns out.” // “And the moon ceases to hunt the sun.”

Kingdom of Villains by Ella Fields ★★★★★

“So I’ve been wondering.” He smirked at the parchment. “Dangerous.”
Regardless of how I loathed him, the deceitful and dangerous male was my last hope. Yet when he looked at me, touched me, dared to love me, the beliefs I’d worn as armor began to melt.
This book is a great portrayal of enemies to lovers, and it had me giggling like a school girl. I enjoyed how well the author took onto the descriptions of different places within the story, wanting to add as much to the story as possible. The smut was very well written and did not gross me out in any form, unlike some other things I've tried reading *cough*kingoffleshandbone*cough*. The fact that there were still so many mysteries that were unfolding throughout the story made it so much more interesting.
I loved the characters, but I wish the male MC was a bit more morally grey, he was quite the goody goody. He didn't really embrace his dragon side, and it seemed like it was something he hated turning into (like, why). He always felt guilty about the people he killed even though, technically, he loses himself completely when he turns into a dragon so he can't even feel bad.
I was less of a fan of Persy and Jarron's relationship, considering their history. I thought Persy was a sweetheart and she really grew on me, and Jarron just seemed kind of like an ass. And the whole 'him running around with women and not being able to stop' thing really turned me off. I didn't enjoy that they got a happy ending together, I felt like Persy could have done better.
Overall, loved it. I'm a sucker for fantasy romance smut and adore enemies to lovers.

Title: Fated Fae
Author: Ella Fields
Series or standalone: series
Publication year: 2021
Genres: fiction, fantasy, romance, paranormal, retelling
Blurb: The king of wolves was more beast than man, more tyrant than king, and so much more than he seemed. Raised to avenge his murdered parents, he'd been trained and conditioned until nothing but violence and hatred lined the walls of his dead heart. For nearly four years, Opal has done all she could to help her kingdom as they faced the wolf king's unconquerable evil, which was hardly anything at all. As the only heir to the Gracewood line, she'd been relegated to menial tasks that would keep her and her secrets safe. A chance to do more than fret behind the castle walls arrived when she breached them after overhearing her parents' plans for her future. Fleeing, she unknowingly raced into a fate they had desperately hoped to avoid. By the time she saw him coming, it was far too late for her family, for her kingdom, and for her heart. Before she could staunch the bleeding, the king had her under his giant paw, and one wrong move after another caused those razor-sharp claws to sink deeper and deeper beneath her bruised skin. She might have been trapped, naïve, and furious, but she still had a kingdom to save...and a plan to save it. When they collided, the bloodshed, the fear, his atrocities, all of it dissolved like stardust upon the night sea. The stars had mapped out their destiny, but it didn't matter what they or her heart wanted. She refused to see the enigmatic male, the heartless lost boy with a soul beneath the flesh of a monster. The savage king who'd destroyed everything she loved would fall, even if her heart fell with him.

Plans for the evening: read Time’s Convert (the chapters I’m supposed to read-we’re on Marcus’s chapters and reading about the Revolutionary War feels different) and finish reading the Stray Prince (which is wildin’ out rn. Also I hate the evil king in this book. Mans raising my blood pressure each time he shows up like the little bitch he is).

🌸🐺Book Review 🐺🌸
The Wolf And The Wild Flower by Ella Fields
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+
I am OBSESSED with everything Ella Fields! I am loving her fantasy stories and this one so far I’d say is my favorite it was everything I’d hoped it would be her writing is absolutely magical it captivated me right from the first page it has wonderful complex characters and a story full of heat heartache emotions and so much angst the writing is very descriptive which I really enjoyed plus adding her signature angst to the story that made this one unputdownable fantasy romance that I devoured ! I wish I could give this more than five stars because it definitely deserves it !

When I was young, I was told that my true love would be a faerie king.
I didn’t heed the warning.
I tumbled into love as soon as our eyes first met, unaware that he wasn’t what he seemed.
My king wanted marriage, power, devotion, and a family. He had all but one, and as our kingdom stood upon the precipice of ruin, the weight of failure tore us apart.
Though it was not the war but his betrayal that sent me running to a foreign land.
And straight into the arms of a one-eyed warrior.
The wolf was a weapon of heartless destruction, a rogue without a real name, and nothing I was allowed to want.
A week spent within his city and the walls of his threadbare home was all it took to irrevocably change everything.
And nothing at all.
For there was no escaping the life I’d once thought I’d cherish forever. My kingdom was dying and my king would soon start searching for his missing queen.
Attempting to keep all I’d found in the heartache he’d caused would only create more.
So I fled from the wolf who hadn’t learned my true identity, and I returned to my kingdom with a silent vow to heal my torn heart. I would try to forgive my faithless husband and accept my bloodstained future.
But those meddlesome fates had other plans.
The warrior I’d left without warning was born a hunter and conditioned to be a monster. An alpha in his own right, he would accept nothing less than what he hungered for.
Even if the battle of his life delivered our hearts to their doom and our kingdoms to their knees.
_
This explosive romantic fantasy takes place in the same world as The Savage and the Swan, but it is a standalone that can be read first. HEA. No cliffhanger.

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to listen to an ARC of "The Grump Who Stole Summer' by Ella Fields.
This narration describes Alice, a spoiled rich young adult (she's 20) who is forced to come back home and spend her summer and upcoming senior year of college at a different school so that her mother and father can keep a close eye on her. She has repeatedly made poor life choices and now must "suffer the consequences of her actions" - especially after having a picture of her "assets" displayed in multiple different magazines and having a video of a threesome floating around from the summer before, to name a few instances.
Charles "Smith" used to "hang out" with Alice back in the day, when they were teenagers in high school, but that all changed abruptly when she found him kissing her sister Talia one day. And now her parents are making her do volunteer work over the summer in his half-owned bookstore. Smith has been "through some shit" and does not seem capable of opening up or being personable, even civil at best. His nickname for Alice is "Wonderland". By the end of the story, we find out why Smith is so messed up in the head, don't worry. They don't leave you hanging.
Overall, I rated this story a 2.5/5 stars. This is because half of the novel feels like straight porn. This is also because if a man spoke to me the way that Smith spoke to Alice, he certainly would be getting what Alice was simply giving away to him. For me, sex and anger just don't mix. It's not hot. It doesn't mesh well.

I love your Emy headcannons. I would love to know more about her as a teenager. Anything. The hangover one was really funny and relatable.
emy obviously learns to drive as a teenager. the only problem is that alessia is not the best driver in the world and freaks out everytime that emy so much as breathes near the steering wheel and leah is overprotective and strict and doesn't trust her to take it out of the driveway. everyone comes in from attempts at driving practice (leah and alessia know their limits, they got her a driving instructor but she needs to practice outside her lessons) either having a panic attack or in tears
emy ends up texting every adult in her life for help. she can't get in a car with either of her mums again. she's traumatised.
Georgia: breaks the satnav somehow, they got lost on country roads with no signal. emilia contemplates how her funeral would go until some very kind farmer comes and saves them.
Katie: they practised in a car park but cars kept interrupting them so katie took them to a field because she learnt on a field and they got stuck in the mud. emilia refuses to go anywhere near the countryside again. main roads only.
Kyra: brings snacks, they make it to a drive-through, order food and just end up eating and gossiping. not productive.
Lia: sees the state of emy's car, spends most of the time teaching emy how to properly clean it. no driving was done.
Keira: lifesaver, gives two amazing lessons but she lives too far from london to practice with regularly and emy is not ready to drive up motorways to visit her
Tooney: again lives too far away but she made a trip to london. she is, like alessia, terrible at driving. emy didn't know who was teaching who
Lotte: teaches her but also spends a lot of time telling her a bike should do her and she lives in london, she doesn't need a car. emy vaguely mentions she doesn't understand the tube map fully and lotte made her pull over so she could teach her because she grew up in london HOW COULD SHE NOT KNOW THIS
Alex Scott: freaks out. thought she could handle it but she can't. they have to pullover after a few minutes because alex is so stressed. emy films her little panic and sends it to the BBC and the next time alex interviews her it's just them debating whether emy left enough space between her and the car in front of her when she braked
Kim Little: originally said no, she didn't know if her heart could handle it but after hearing all of emy's stories she takes pity and teaches her. the best teacher and the only reason emy passed her test
