I just read the Wiki on this guy.

Honestly this is more of a soul read than anything else, sorry if i mischaracterize him :)

Additional headcanons 👇

Deuce’s father was in the military and their family often had to move around when he was young. During his 12 grade year, that landed deuce in the same high-school that Ace went to. They met eachother in the school’s Jazz band, He played Sax, Ace played Bass.

On their very first day of meeting eachother though, they accidentally found themselves locked out of the school building, which lead them to have to walk around the campus banging on doors until someone opened one.

During their little adventure, Ace kept trying to get Deuce to tell him his name, in which he was withholding from his classmate. At this point in moving around so much, he got tired of introducing himself, but that just lead to Ace making up the name ‘Deuce’ for him, and the name just stuck!

They started to have some banter between eachother because of their escapade and quickly became friends. Deuce wasnt really interested in making friends, but Ace pulled him into his friend groups and gave him a social life that made him happy :)

During their school year, Deuce started growing a crush on his new friend. He never thought that getting locked out of the school one day would lead to being head over heels, but here he is… shhhit.

Eventually, he plucks up the courage to tell Ace how he feels, and Ace responded by placing a big ol’ kiss on Deuce’s lips, much to his surprise.

They start dating, but onward, it felt like something was missing. Deuce had never dated anyone before, but this isn't what he thought it would be like. They did all the normal couply physical stuff, but it still felt like he was just a friend to Ace.

One day, he voiced his concerns to Ace who just looked sad. Ace bows the deepest bow Deuce had ever seen and apologized.

He expresses that he doesn't know how to love like deuce does. Everytime he tries, he fails, and he winds up hurting the ones that he cares for. He thought that he was doing better with deuce, but obviously not, and now Ace has hurt him, too.

They wind up breaking up, but remaining friends. deuce understands that Ace has some self development that he has to go through, and that a romantic relationship between them wouldnt work out.

Ace was his first heartbreak, but he's glad they can still be friends.

an AU of @orange-artist's ASL god AU where Deuce is also a god b/c I'm rotating him in my mind at all times

some notes about him under the cut: (this idea has consumed my brain)

His hair changes color based on the sky near him when in god form, it's usually just "sky blue" in human form

When he gets especially emotional it sometimes affects the sky around him

He's the god of loyalty/devotion due to his role "supporting" the other celestial gods

However, he's closest to Astrus as he was essentially "born" from the spaces between the stars

He's basically the patron god of first mates - when the Roger Pirates landed on Raftel, he was drawn the most to Raleigh

He's also the god of storytelling (because of canon Deuce's dream to write a book)

Some of his powers include telekinesis-like spatial manipulation and controlling clouds (ex. the different types on Sky Islands)

His and Ace's first meeting went like: "Oh man, sailing around like a human is way harder than it looks, I can't believe I'm already shipwrecked" -> "There's another person trapped here? I'd better help I guess" -> *gets closer and makes eye contact* "IT'S YOU!?" for both of them

Dude I just fucking know Deuce was growing white hairs and losing his hair at the ripe age of 18 because of the fucking ace of spades

So I just imagine Deuce's hair falls out because of how much stress he's going through. Guess who? It's yours truly! Portgas D Ace! Your free stress machine!

Skull is just looking at the deck and seeing multiple long blue hair strands: "uh- guys, I don't think Kotatsu's fur is blue.."

Corilina is just looking at Skull in confusion: "What the hell do you mean about Kotatsu's fur being blue?" Corilina crouching down to see the hair "oh. That's Deuce's hair"

"What."

Another thing. Deuce just wants to beat the shit out of ace for being so stupid but he can't because he's his captain ans he loves him. (Your honor they are very gay)

Ace: "Hey deuce do you think I can swim?"

Deuce looking at him in frustration and confusion: "Of course, you can't swim! Your brother can't swim, big mom and Kaido can't even swim, hell! Even Sengoku can't even swim! So how the hell can you think, you a fireman, can swim?!"

Ace shrugs: "Dunno, let's find out!!" Ace just casually jumping into the ocean like he isn't going to drown.

Deuce runs over to the railings to see if Acs is going to come back up. He doesn't.

"SHIT. FUCKE ME OH MY FUCKING ARRARAFHTS" deuce rips off his coat and jumps into the ocean saving ace. Deuce's bare body is covered in stinging salty sea water. Ace collapses on the deck coughing up sea water. Deuce slaps him awake (multiple times)

Ace bolts up and looks at Deuce "that was fun!" He grinned

Deuce looks at him at pure anger and disbelief "YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHI-"

Also when Ace wanted to kill Whitebeard ans Deuce had to patch him up

Every single day Ace had to goto Deuce when he got hurt.

Ace: "Deuce I'm sorry-"

Deuce looks at him after he bandages him: "Coms back here one more time. I will rip your limbs one by one and choke you with your instines." Ace shivered

Whoops, guess what!!! Ace had to go to deuce again. Ace bolts out Deuces cabin "DEUCE SHIT- IM SORRY!-"

"STOP FUCKING APPEARING TO MY CABIN HURT!"

Thatch looking at Ace: "Realtionship peoblems?"

"First mate problems."
