Tumblr media
Due to the aftermath of Katara allowing females to waterbend, I decided to participate with Katara and her avatar friend. Which is unsurprising for my father and Master Pakku. It felt awkward finally doing waterbend without having to feel the anxiety of getting caught, weirder doing it in front of the people who I have been hiding most. “Well done, Y/N. Feels like you never even stopped waterbending in the first place.” Master Pakku compliments. I felt a shiver up my spine. “Yeah…” I responded with a tinge of guilt. It's because I never even stopped waterbending, I'm more surprised that no one has caught on. But even if they do, they cannot do anything. I close my eyes and sigh breathily. Slowly inhaling but instantly coughed from the smell of…burning…wait. I immediately open my eyes to see the black snow coming from the sky, but that is no snow…it's soot. “The fire nation” I whispered coldy.
Not too long I hear the warning drums against my ears, spreading news to the whole northern water nation. I sat next to Yue in our hideout with all of our people, slightly shivering even though I'm perfectly fine with the cold. I held Sivoy in my arms, silently praying to the spirits over the speech my father was giving. He was most likely saying the same thing as I. I just need my family to be happy and safe, especially Sivoy. I hugged Sivoy even tighter than I already was while he was babbling nonsense, playing with my hair. I wish there was a way to tell Sivoy of how much danger we are in but…there is nothing we can do but fight.
I heard the explosions ringing in my ears. This is real…this is all real. Oh how much I wish my mother was still here, she was taken too soon by the fire nation. I just hope my father, my sister and my brother will live. Another explosion hit, I cover my ears to prevent further ringing and wince. Yue held my shoulders and rubbed them to comfort me, I shouldn't be comforted at this moment, it should have been Yue who needed comfort. Yue was busying herself by telling factual information to Katara and the Avatar about  water bending while I leaned against the ledge to peace my own mind. My ears perked up from the word ‘Spirits’. “Spirits?” I sat up catching the three off guard. “You can talk to the spirits?” I leaned closer to the avatar. “Yeah, Aang can talk to spirits. The Avatar is connected to the spirit world and the real world.” Katara explained. “If that's the case…then follow me” I immediately speed walk towards the needed destination.
  ҉   ☾
“This is the most spiritual place in the North pole, unfortunately you have to go there yourself, but this area should be able to assist you...like it did to Yue and I.” Aang nodded as all four of us walked to the Spirit Oasis. “It's so warm here” Katara examined the area. “It's pretty comforting here” I smiled at the reactions of Aang and Katara, feeling mesmerized by the area. This area was very gorgeous indeed. Aang was able to sit down in front of the pond with the fish circling one another, resembling the yin yang. “Why is he sitting like that?” Yue questioned Katara as we both looked at him strangely. “He’s meditating” Katara answered “He’s trying to cross over to the spirit world, it takes all his concentration.”
“Is there any way we can help?” “How about some quiet?” Aang retorted snappily. “Come on guys! I can hear every word you guys are saying!”. I held back a laugh as I continued to watch what Aang was doing. Both Yue and I were very intrigued. With a flash, both his arrow and his eyes were glowing. Yue and I flinched from the scene. “Is he okay?!” Yue panicked as I furrowed my brows. “He’s crossing into the spirit world, he’ll be fine as long as we dont move his body. That's his way back to the physical world.” Katara explained, pointing at Aang. I felt shivers up my spine, someone here… I glared at my surroundings while Katara and Yue were talking, trying to see who was approaching us. “Shh someones coming-” “Aw, aren't you a big girl now”. Us three turned around to see a boy. “No…” Katara shakily said “Yes…now hand him over and I won't have to hurt you” He threatened. The boy has a ponytail and a very visible red burn scar on his face. “Who is he?!” I freaked out while holding my stance to attack. “He is part of the fire nation-” Katara couldn't finish her sentence when flames were there the next second. Immediately coming to Katara’s defense as I attempt to push him away with the water given from the Oasis. “I see you made another waterbending friend, however I didn't come this way to lose to you” He got back up again attempting to continue fighting. “Katara froze him, it can keep him restrained” I yell, gathering up as much water as I possibly could. She nodded as we both pushed him against the wall, caging him. “Is it her? Is she your master who has been teaching you these moves?” The boy said spitefully and immediately burst through the ice. “No?” I retorted back, looking at him confused but the confuzzled face didn't stay long until he blasted another flame from the palm of his hands. I move back trying to shield Aang as Katara pushes him against the rock, knocking him out in an ice mountain. I exhale a breath of relief. “Thanks Katara” “I should be thanking you”
However the relief was short lived as we felt the sun rising up and the scar boy, once again getting through the ice. Catching Katara off guard she hit the wooden pole causing her to pass out. “Katara!” I yelled and attempted to push him away from Aang. “Shoot!” I grumbled, feeling my bending growing weaker. I looked at the sky trying to look for the moon, however there was no moon. The shine of the sun reflected off of me while I tried to hold eye contact against the enemy under the bright light. Couldn't the sun come out later? His finishing blow of flames causes me to move back, coughing through the dust swaying it through my vision. “You must have known, You rise with the moon, I rise with the Sun”. I glared at him trying to get back at him, already forming my water but unfortunately I lost all feelings of my legs, colliding with the grassy land, my eyes went from blurry to nothing…

a/n: Im editing this while watching s3 avatar, I was worried that s3 might clash with my fic but I managed to make do. Im submitting the chapters because this is before Y/N starts her journey, so her real powers will happen in s2 (I THINK). ALSO Zuko is in this chapter wooo!! Sad there is no romance yet and this is a slow burn. I might edit the previous chapters to write slow burn. I really want Zuko and Reader to be enemies and reader to really hate Zuko. Im trying to release a chapter once everyday but one spring break is up im not sure if I would be able to continue, however ill try my best! -- Taglist: @luvkvni @katovano @karmaswitch @someonesmember @velvet-spider @sh3sa1dwhat @nerdisthenewcool @meiraloves2dmen @fqnfics101 @iluvme547

[prologue] [chapter 1]
Tumblr media
When you finally arrived back at camp, the night fog cleared all around you as Lo’ak’s ikran landed gracefully on the edge of the rock, that fog once shrouding you and Lo’ak in a bubble of joyous freedom dissipating as your return grounded you back into reality.
Jake was waiting for you with his arms crossed. You caught a glimpse of Lo’ak’s face, annoyed as he hopped off his ikran. Once his feet landed, he relinquished his annoyed expression, though only for a second, as he outstretched a hand for you to take.
“I got this.” You replied, hopping off on your own.
“Oh yeah, of course,” He replied, coolly drawing his hand back and placing it on the back of his neck as he feigned nonchalance.
“Do my orders mean nothing to you?” Jake yelled out, his anger clearly seething through his whole body as he stomped toward you both.
Lo’ak’s shoulders slumped, dreading his father’s lecture and dropping his hands from his neck, “No sir.”
You stepped between Jake and Lo’ak, putting your hands up, “Woah, woah, woah. Calm down old man. I asked him to take me around, okay? Your anger shouldn’t be focused on Lo’ak.”
Jake huffed in frustration, “He’s my son, y/n. He disobeyed direct orders.”
You lowered your eyes at Jake, “Oh, and you haven’t?”
Lo’ak scrunched his eyebrows at you, surprised by your boldness, but what really caught him off guard was his father’s quickness to concede to you, his expression softening.
“Fine, fine, but next time, I won’t be as forgiving.” He turned to Lo’ak, “Take her to your grandmother please.”
Lo’ak nodded, and Jake took him by the arm, glaring, “And no detours, got it?”
He fought back the urge to roll his eyes as he replied, “Yes sir.”
“Alright, dismissed.” He ordered.
“No, not dismissed. We need to talk about my father, Jake. He’s still out there.” You urged, planting your feet in front of him.
Jake put his hands on his head, “I know he’s out there, but right now, what I’m worried about is you.” He looked down at your wound, its ache suddenly making itself known to you, but you were too prideful to admit it.
His voice became scarily low as he spoke again, his expression grave, “You need to go get that patched up. Now.”
Jake pushed you forward, and you reluctantly moved your feet. Lo’ak took his place beside you as you both walked, Jake changing his mind about leaving Lo’ak to escort you to the tent as he trailed behind you both.
You observed everything around you as you walked further into the cave. It was vast, practically endless, and although the night sky was shielding its stars with its fog, you were still able to see their slight glimmer in the sky. It wasn’t too far into the night, groups of Na’vi, warriors, women, and children still in clusters, all of them staring at you as you passed, clearly weary of you in your odd clothing, but seeing Jake behind you, they seemed to relax. Amidst them though, you saw a few humans, their breathers on, wearing the khaki jumpsuits that all of the scientists had worn when you were alive.
“Wait.” Your tone displaying sternness as you stopped, turning toward Jake, “I need to know.”
You paused, heaviness filling your heart as fear began to consume it, “Is Trudy dead?”
You had assumed the worst, but you still clung to a tiny bit of hope that shattered instantly as you looked into Jake’s eyes, the glint of sadness in them affirming what you had feared. He didn’t need to say anything for you to know what that sadness meant. You felt a horrid clawing at your chest and you could only understand that feeling being the unbearable crushing of your heart. Jake hugged you as that pain settled in, and you felt so dreadfully numb, you couldn’t even wrap your arms around him.
“What about Norm and Max?” You asked pleadingly.
He let go of you, giving you a small smile, “They’re alive, and they know you’re here.”
Hearing that they were alive didn’t settle your grief, but you felt the mixture of emotions take over you as your relief and sadness melded together.
“I want to see them. Take me to them.” You stated resolutely, planting your heels into the ground as Jake shook his head at you, trying to push you forward agian.
“No, you’re not going anywhere until you see Mo’at.” He argued.
“Jake, I told you I was fine, okay?” Although, the throbbing was getting worse as you spoke, “Just let me see them please? Don’t you think it’s been long enough?” You responded, your forehead scrunched in frustration.
“They’ll still be here when you’re better, y/n. Now, will you please just listen?” He pleaded with you, his eyes stern again, “Don’t make me carry you over there, you big baby.” He warned, and you finally gave up.
“Fine,” You conceded, huffing in compliance as you crossed your arms, “I’d shoot you if I still had my gun.”
Jake shook his head at you, ruffling your hair, “Like you can aim with that injury.”
You slapped his hand away, smoothing your hair out as he pleaded, “Norm and Max aren’t going anywhere either, so just do as I say, please?”
“Well, stop being annoying and just let me go with Lo’ak, okay?” You huffed out.
“Alright, then go!” Jake encouraged as he shifted his point toward the tent.
“Alright alright, we’re going.” You spoke, putting your hands on Lo’ak’s back to get him to walk.
When there was finally some distance between you and Jake, you sighed, moving from where you were behind him to walk next to him instead. He stopped when you did, putting a gentle hand on your arm. You halted at the touch, blinking in confusion as your eyes traveled downward. You looked at him, anticipating what he had to say.
When you had mentioned Trudy, he had remembered he still had your pictures in his cloth pocket, and taking them out, he nudged them toward you, “Your pocket ripped and they fell out when we were in the tree. I figured they were important to you.”
Looking down, you finally noticed your pocket, widely ripped at its width. Taking the pictures out of his hand, you fought back tears that were easily brimming in your eyes. You let a weak chuckle out, embarrassed by your own emotions as Lo’ak looked at you sincerely.
Realizing that he was still holding onto you, he let go, clearing his throat, “The other girl in there.” He began, “That’s Trudy, isn’t it?”
You traced over her smiling face, “She was my best friend, you know. She was the best pilot in the whole unit. We would fly together.”
He listened, humming in response as you reminisced. Trudy was dead, but Lo’ak had returned a piece of her to you, and you couldn’t help but smile at him, your expression illuminating with gratefulness.
Lo’ak blushed instantly, shy under your gaze, his hand going to the back of his neck, “You have to stop looking at me like that.”
You shrugged, “Like what? I’m just grateful, that’s all.”
Lo’ak cleared his throat, finding his courage as he met your eyes again, “Well, you look pretty when you’re grateful.” The shyness you brought out of him retreating as his usual smugness took over.
You didn’t expect such boldness, scoffing as you dismissed him, “And how do I look when I’m not grateful?”
Still maintaining his cavalier, his heart pumping rapidly as he thought up his response, he smirked at you, “Still pretty.”
You were blushing, but you scoffed, lightly smacked his arm, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of knowing you were actually charmed by his attempt at flirting.
“Y/n! Y/n! You’re finally here!” An innocent tone rang out, making you tear your eyes away from Lo’ak.
Tuk was running toward you, overjoyed at seeing you again.
“Tuk, can’t you be annoying somewhere else?” Lo’ak groaned, crossing his arms as he glared at her.
Tuk stuck her tongue out at her brother, “Whatever Lo’ak. I bet you were the one annoying her.” She retorted, taking you by the hand and dragging you toward the tent.
You shrugged your shoulders at Lo’ak, motioning for him to follow, and he unwilling agreed, trudging after you.
Once you approached the tent, you saw Neytiri on the floor weaving amber, circular beads and golden twine together. You greeted her properly, “I see you Neytiri.”
Hearing your voice, she got up, putting down what she was weaving to greet you back, her voice welcoming as she spoke, “Come, you are hurt. I will help bathe you before mother heals you.”
She lowered her eyes at Lo’ak, her tone changing into a stern one as she ordered, “Out Lo’ak and take Tuk with you.”
He groaned as Tuk pouted, “Mama, why can’t I stay?”
“Just listen to mama, okay?” Neytiri said, and Tuk nodded reluctantly.
Lo’ak sighed, turning on his heel to exit the tent. Before he stepped out completely you called his name, his head spinning back so quickly at the sound of your voice.
You still had the pictures in your hand, and you held them out to him, “Keep them safe for me?”
He smiled at you as he took them from your hands, purposely brushing his fingers against yours, “Of course.”
You knew what he was trying to do as you felt his fingers touch yours and you stifled a light chuckle, “I’ll see you later.”
“Draw the curtain!” Neytiri yelled, and Lo’ak did as she asked, taking one last glance at you before he pulled the drapery down.
You made eye-contact with Neytiri again, who put a gentle hand at your back, guiding you to the large basin filled with water, steam coming from it, in the middle of the tent.
On the other side of it was Neytiri’s mother, her back turned as she prepared bowls of herbs for your healing treatment, their earthy aroma filling the air.
Once she turned around, you greeted her politely, gesturing your hand from your forehead to hers, “I see you, Mo’at.”
You were surprised as she seemed pleased with you, a hint of a smile gracing her lips as she acknowledged your presence, “Y/n Quaritch.”
She walked over to you, circling you as she studied your features, “There is never death, only change. You are proof of this. The Great Mother has blessed you with new life.”
You averted your gaze, hardly sharing the same feeling, your heart twisting as she spoke. You could feel the guilt within you rise in her presence, your father’s sins against her weighing down on your chest.
Mo’at could sense how troubled you felt inside, and even just seeing your tired expression, she could tell you were exhausted, that tiredness taking its toll underneath your eyes.
She placed her hands on the sides of your face, gently lifting your head to meet her eyes, “You have been through much, child. Be calm. You are with your people and you are home.”
You gulped, shaking your head at her, “I don’t understand,” Your eyes went to Neytiri, your gaze showing how burdened you felt, “My father destroyed your home and killed Eytukan, killed so many of your people. How can you welcome me so easily?”
Mo’at and Neytiri exchanged glances with one another, their thoughts becoming unified as each of them took one of your hands into theirs, the coldness you felt in your heart, suddenly warming through their motherly touch.
Mo’at spoke with conviction, her wisdom echoing through the tent, “Your father’s evils are not yours, y/n. You were born of the Sky People, selfish and cruel they are. Yet, you protected life and gave your own for someone you loved. You were always meant to be one of Us.”
“What do you mean? What are you talking about?”
Neytiri looked as if she was going to cry, her voice sincere, “Jake, it was his life that you saved.” She put her other hand on your cheek, a single tear falling from her eyes, “I will never forget what you’ve done for me, for my family, my people. You have a strong heart, y/n like Jake. You are one of The People.”
You couldn’t find any words, the inner turmoil inside of you fighting to stay as their heartfelt reassurances melted it down, almost reducing it to nothing as you felt the warmth emanating from them both enter into your heart.
You had only ever felt this feeling once in your life, and it happened with Grace. It was the feeling of being recognized by a mother, and having craved it so much, having missed Grace so much, you let yourself be captured by that feeling, no longer battling against it and leaning into that comfort.
Neytiri and Mo’at noticed the change in you, and as you relaxed, they helped you out of your clothing. Mo’at unwrapped the cloth around your wound, and you winced in pain when she pulled the bullet out, leaving the widened gash open. That pain quickly subsided when they guided you into the basin, the touch of the heated water on your skin calming the tension in your whole body.
The two of them worked on either side of you, gently scrubbing your skin with soft, green cloths. Using a specialized herb mixture, its floral scent wafting in the air, Neytiri rubbed it in your hair, while Mo’at washed your body meticulously with another mixture, the floral scent of the hairwash mixing with the citrus-like scent of the one for your body. Eventually, all the dirt, caked blood, and yanna bark sap was gone, and with it came the layers of strain.
When they had finished washing you, they helped you out of the basin, drying you off quickly with another set of cloths.
Neytiri came up behind you, “Lift your arms.”
You did as she said, allowing her to drape something over you, and as you looked down you realized it was the piece she was weaving earlier, the twine coming together in an asymmetric halter shape, the beads cascading downward where your shoulder was.
“I made it like this so it is open where you were hurt.” She explained.
“This is beautiful.” You said in awe, and she gave you a satisfied smile.
Neytiri continued to hep you get dressed, teaching you how to fasten the loin cloth properly, and when you grasped the idea, you did it yourself. Once it was secured, Mo’at gestured for you to follow her, leading you toward the array of bowls that you had seen her prepare earlier.
Beside her array was a hammock, her eyes going to it as she spoke to you, “Lie down.”
You nodded, seating yourself in the hammock then lifting your legs up to fill the length of it. You watched as she took one of the bowls in her hand, warming a thickened paste she had made between her fingers, and you breathed deeply as she slabbed it into the open flesh and all around it, the cool sting of the herbs spreading throughout your wound. As she continued to rub the paste, you could feel your eyes get heavy, your vision blurring as you fought to stay awake.
Mo’at neatly blanketed your wound with a fresh new wrap, smothering the coolness from the paste and engulfing the area in comfortable warmth, and once that settled, you had lost the fight to your own exhaustion, your eyes shutting as sleep took over you.
By the time that Jake came to visit, there was no hope of waking you up. He was still having a hard time grasping that you were really alive, but he was just so happy to see you that he hardly cared, smiling as he knelt beside you.
“Ma Jake.” Neytiri called, putting a hand on his shoulder.
He turned his head, standing up, and with his full attention she continued, “She knows about how she died.”
Jake groaned, whispering, “How could you tell her? It wasn’t something she needed to know.”
“She deserves to know, just as she deserves to know about other things.” Her tone hinting as she gave him a serious expression.
Jake looked back at you, peaceful as you slept soundly, “She’s not ready.”
“Y/n is strong.” Neytiri defended, “You do not need to worry for her.”
“It’s not her I’m worried about.” He replied, meeting her gaze again, “It’s him.”
“And you have not told him either, that his father is that demon.” She hissed at Jake in frustration, “You cannot keep them apart and you cannot keep the truth from both of them. They are brother and sister.”
Mo’at cleared her throat behind them, “Do not disturb her in her sleep with such talk.” She drew the curtain back slightly, making an opening, “I will watch her.”
Although unwilling to leave you, Jake agreed, entrusting you with Mo’at as he left, Neytiri taking the lead as they both exited the tent. When they both walked out, Lo’ak was nearby, waiting to see you and Tuk, who had gotten bored, left not too long before her parents walked out.
He started to walk toward the tent, and noticing him, Jake stepped forward, “We’re having a family meeting. Go get your sisters.”
There was no chance to protest as his parents’ glares bore into him, forcing his obedient nod. Jake and Neytiri waited for all of their children just a couple meters away from where you were. Neteyam came first and a little after came Lo’ak, Kiri, Tuk, and another with him.
Neteyam took sight of his brother and his approaching siblings, greeting the other that had come with them, “Hey Spider.”
Neytiri gave Jake a worried glance, but he dismissed her, turning to his children, his expression serious as he explained your situation and who you were, carefully choosing his words as he spoke.
“So, she really— “ Spider paused, trying to understand, “She really died and came back…as a Na’vi?”
Jake and Neytiri nodded, and Spider put a hand at his chin, his eyes showing his amazement, “That is insane.”
“She has helped this family in more ways than you know.” Neytiri revealed, “I expect you to treat her like family.”
“Yes, mother. We will make sure she feels at home.” Neteyam reassured him.
“Yeah! I love her already!” Tuk exclaimed, turning to her sister, “And you’ll love her too Kiri!”
Kiri smiled at her sister, her eyes turning hopeful as she asked, “Did she really know my mother?” She was clutching onto the pendant of her necklace, once her mother’s but passed on to her.
“Yes, she knew her longer than any of us.” Jake affirmed, giving his daughter a reassuring smile.
He looked at Neytiri, who was already giving him a disapproving expression, “And I want you kids to promise me something.”
They leaned in, waiting for what he had to say and he continued, his tone serious, “I don’t want her anywhere near the lab or anywhere near the humans, okay?”
Lo’ak was quick to protest, “Why not? You know more than anyone that she wants to see Norm and Max.”
“She will see them, alright? Just not yet, okay? Can you just do as I—“
Then came your scream. To everyone else, it wasn’t all that loud, but to Jake it painfully rang in his ears like a siren and without hesitation, he ran, Neytiri and the children running after him.
He bolted into the tent, your figure shuddering in Mo’at’s arms as she held you, your stare blank as you looked at the floor, the remainder of a nightmare hanging in the thickness of the air. It would have been better if you had just slept horribly, then you would have expected this. But, beautiful dreams had come to you before a nightmare infested them— you saw your father, his sneer as he killed Jake and his family one by one, the blood splattering on your face as he made you watch, and no matter how much you screamed, no matter how hard you tried to stop him, there was nothing you could do.
Hearing Jake, Mo’at loosened her embrace and leaned backward as Jake knelt beside you, holding you by the shoulders before pulling you in.
“It’ll be alright, y/n. You’re okay.” Jake reassured you, his hands rubbing at your back.
Neytiri came up beside you too, her hand on your shoulder.
The children though stayed outside, climbing up onto the adjoining rock beside the tent and peeking through the upper openings in the tent to see.
“Is this how you felt when I died?” You weakly let out, leaning back to look at Jake, who blinked at you, his heart aching at the question, “I know it was just a dream, but I watched my father kill you Jake. You and your family.”
Jake could feel your grief from your shaken voice, the hurt that he felt from you seeping into his own soul, “That’s all it was y/n. A dream. I’m not going anywhere, okay?”
You looked away, not wanting to believe in such hope, but Jake made you look at him again, “Hey, hey, do you remember what you told me before? Before the bulldozers came?”
It was impossible to forget, one of the last memories you had with Jake, “Of course I do.”
Jake took your hands into his, his voice resolute and determined, “A father protects. It’s what gives him meaning. You died protecting me when I should have protected you. I’m not gonna make that mistake again.”
You were crying as he said those words, smiling as you wiped them away, the sorrow inside of you dissipating as he smiled back at you.
“You’re safe here.” Jake said, patting the hammock, “You can rest, okay?”
You shook your head, “I’ve been dead for what, twenty years?” You got up, fidgeting with your fingers, “I’m done resting, Jake.”
Jake faced you, “You can still sleep. You love to sleep. You were always the last to wake up in the shack, remember?” He joked.
You scoffed, “That’s because I had a cripple underneath me who loved to snore.”
You hit him on the arm, and he gasped, pointing a finger at you warningly, laughing, “Hey, I’m not in a wheelchair anymore, so don’t start a fight you can’t finish.
“I kind of miss when you were in a wheelchair though. It was so much easier to make fun of you.” You retorted sarcastically.
Jake sucked a breath in through his teeth, and you surrendered, “I’m joking! I’m joking, okay? Don’t be mad. You know I’ve always respected my elders.”
Neytiri couldn’t help but laugh along with your joke, so entertained by the two of you as she watched you interact. Even Mo’at was smiling, her heart warmed at seeing Jake with you again, remembering his agonized desperation to revive you all those years ago.
The children were all watching from above, the oldest ones so baffled to see their father so carefree, but Tuk hardly noticed, her concern mainly being on you. Without another thought, Tuk ran off, making her way to the tent, all her siblings groaning as they followed her, calling her name.
Neteyam stopped Spider though, “Maybe you should stay behind bro. My father meant it when he said he did not want her near humans.”
“And that includes me?” Spider asked, hurt and offended.
“I’m sorry. It’s my dad’s orders.” He replied, patting Spider’s shoulders before running after his siblings.
“I’m so glad you’re okay!” Tuk said as she ran into the tent, and as you heard her voice, you crouched down -: she wrapped her arms around you sloppiy.
“Tuk be careful!” Neytiri scolded, worried about your shoulder.
You stood up, Tuk taking hold of your hand as she apologized, “Sorry,” Then gently, she pulled your hand forward, “Come on! You have to meet my sister... and Spider too!” Her excitement too great to remember what her father had asked.
Jake attemted to stop her, “Tuk no-”
But she had already led you out of the tent, everyone gathered in front of the entrance. Jake let out a sigh of relief seeing that Spider wasn’t with them. Since Tuk had given no context to who Spider was, you thought she was talking about some sort of pet, and you looked around for something on the ground before your eyes landed to the girl in front of you. Your face dropped as you looked at Kiri, the spitting image of Grace, so eerily similar that you felt as if you were looking at her ghost, your vision flashing between your memory of her and the reality of who was in front of you.
Kiri stepped forward, her own curiosity about you encouraging her words, “Hi, I’m Kiri. I’m Grace’s daughter.” She began nervously and you were even more shocked, her voice even holding the same intonations as Grace, the sound sending goosebumps down your spine.
The tears that had left you before arose again as you took in Kiri’s appearance, noticing immediately the necklace she had on her neck.
You inched closer, pointing at the necklace, “Your necklace. It was your mom’s.”
She put her hand over it, touching the pendant, “How did you know?”
“I made it for her when I first came to Pandora.” You explained, “She was teaching me how to speak Na’vi, so I gave her this, as a gift.”
You stepped backward, taking note of her age in your mind. She wasn’t that much older than you, and you were reeling, filing through all the scientific possibilities in your head.
You looked at Jake, your eyes begging for answers, “How is this possible? You told me that the Great Mother couldn’t save her.”
“Actually,” Kiri began, “I was hoping that maybe you would know.” She paused, gulping down her expectations as she tried to maintain her calm, “Do you know who my father is?”
Everyone’s eyes went to you, but you kept yours on Kiri, her eyes so desperate for an answer as she looked at you, like your mere existence could fill in the missing pieces that laid like stones in her heart.
You reached into the depths of your mind, the memories of every instance with Grace appearing before you, the last making you wince, the pain of remembering her death agonizing how you felt in front of Kiri. “I don’t know. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Your apology rang deeper than your ignorance of her conception. You stood in front of her knowing that she had no mother and that it was your father who had done that to her. You averted your eyes, taking refuge in staring at your fingers.
Kiri tried to hide how embarrassed she suddenly felt, her eyes downcast as she scolded herself for being so hopeful, “Oh. You don’t have to be sorry. It’s okay, really.”
You wanted to give her some comfort. You owed it to her and casting that horrible feeling aside, you put a hand on her shoulder.
“Look, I was brought back by science, but you weren’t, you couldn’t have been,” She looked up at you, her expression pleading for you to continue, “Your mother loved Pandora with everything she had, and if that love somehow made you, then you’re a miracle, something Grace’s science, my science can’t explain.”
Kiri felt a warmth bubble inside her at your words and she looked at you with a cherished gratefulness as she clasped her hands around yours, “Thank you.”
You smiled at her, squeezing her hand before letting go. You looked down at Tuk, “So...where’s Spider? Is he a pet or something?”
“I’m not a pet.” A voice spoke from behind you, and you turned your head.
Jake glared at Neteyam and Lo’ak, mouthing his disappointment, Neteyam giving his father an apologetic expression while Lo’ak hardly cared, pressing his lips together in feigned regret.
He jumped down from where he was, approaching you, his appearance baffling. He was human, blue stripes painted on his body, his hair shaped like a lion’s mane, and the only clothing he had on was a loin cloth, similar to Lo’ak’s.
“I’m Spider,” He said, crossing his arms, “Socorro.”
Socorro.
The name was littered between the grief and sorrow that laid within you since you had woken up, the name so deeply buried in your mind that its sudden rise gave way to a singular memory, your body frozen as your mind’s eye displayed it in front of you.
You felt as if you were really there, the smell of the base filling your nose. Your father was beside you with his arms crossed, and you were standing in front of an operating room, the iodine smell wafting out as the door opened.
When the doctor came out, his surgical gear bloodied from the procedure, he pulled his mask down, meeting your father with a smile, although your father didn’t return it.
His frown projected how he felt as the doctor announced, “It’s a boy, Colonel. You have a son.”
Uncrossing his arms, he looked into the operating room, Paz Socorro, one of the pilots in the regiment, lying in the bed holding her son, their son. Paz motioned for him to come in, but he had his feet planted on the ground, tearing his eyes away from Paz and toward the doctor, his eyes moving swiftly to you.
“I ain’t got a son, doc.”
You couldn’t remember much after that, but you did remember Paz, and not fondly. She held nothing against your father for rejecting Spider, too in love with him to bear any hostility. Instead, she focused her hatred on you, blaming you for what had happened. She hadn’t always been so cruel to you, but how could you put her at fault? You were the reason why Quaritch didn’t love his son.
“Are you okay?” Lo’ak asked, your blank stare giving way to the concern that was filling his heart.
“Y-yeah.” You looked back at Spider, just the sight of him pinching at your heart, “I’m y/n.” You paused, attempting to joke, “You definitely don’t look like a pet.”
“Thanks,” Spider replied, laughing.
You managed a smile at him, but Jake could see the pain in your eyes. Lo’ak had seen it too, recognizing it as the same face you had when your father was calling out for you. You had become scarily silent, so lost in the pain of that memory that when Jake put a hand on your back, you didn’t move, your breathing staggering as you stood.
Worried, Neytiri took you by the shoulders and in your daze, your feet moved on their own as she escorted you back into the tent.
They all attempted to follow but Jake put his hand up, glaring at his two sons, his anger showing in the ferocity of his whisper, “I asked you to do one thing. One thing.”
Spider, feeling the guilt rise in him, spoke, “No, Jake it was me. I didn’t listen.”
Jake closed his eyes, frustrated as he let a breath in, “Go to bed. All of you.”
“But dad-” Lo’ak pressed on, moving forward, but Jake outstretched his arm, blocking the way.
“Get to bed.” He repeated himself, the firmness in his tone making Lo’ak back away.
Mo’at, who had kept her ear open as she sat on the floor of the tent, ascended from her position, “Do as your father says, my grandson. You’ll get to see her soon enough.” She seemed to be hinting at something, and Lo’ak only half-caught on, still annoyed by his father.
“Let’s go.” Neteyam said to his siblings, and they all reluctantly followed.
Spider trailing behind them at first, but he stopped, the call of his dangerous curiosity influencing his steps back toward the tent. Spider had watched your reaction when he said his name, your face turning pale and your eyes going blank. You were remembering something, and he had to know what it was.
When Spider darted off, Lo’ak followed. “Spider!” Lo’ak called after him, “Wait up!”
Neteyam grunted in annoyance, “Kiri, take Tuk home please?”
She agreed as her brother ran, but Tuk refused, “I want to go with them!”
“Tuk no! Come back!” But Tuk had already let go of her sister’s hand, passing the many tents to catch up to her brothers, and with no other choice, Kiri hastened her pace chasing after her.
Lo’ak and Spider took to the top of the rock they were at earlier, eagerly listening to your conversation with Jake.
As Jake approached, he looked apologetic, “Look, I know how you must be feeling and-”
“Do you really, Jake?” You exploded, pushing him away from you as you pounded at your own chest, “Do you know how it feels to look your own brother in the eye and know that it was your fault he was orphaned?”
Jake fell silent, battered by your agonized rage.
“My father didn’t want him because he already had me. He picked me off the street on earth, but Spider is his flesh and blood,” Your voice was breaking, so disgusted by the words you were saying that you thought you could feel bile fill your throat, almost drowning you.
“Does he know? Does he know who his parents are?” You questioned, giving him an accusatory look.
“No,” Neytiri piped in, shaking her head.
You squinted your eyes at Jake, “How could you not tell him?”
“You know your father, y/n. Would you have told him?” Jake pleaded, wanting for you to understand his decision, “I thought he would be better off not knowing.”
You were wrong to do that, Jake. No matter how much of a monster Quaritch is, Spider deserved to know.”
Lo’ak watched as Spider took everything in, his face twisting and scrunching as he tried to convince himself that everything you said wasn’t true. All he ever knew was that his parents had died in the battle with the Sky People, and he always wondered, allowed himself to explore those curious thoughts that longed to know who his parents really were. But as he listened to you, every word that you spoke like a knife in his chest, inching and inching further and further into his heart, he wished he had just left well enough alone.
Inside of him, like a disease that seemed to invade his mind, he was overcome with envy, his mouth in a snarl as he looked at you in your Na’vi form, Neytiri next to you as she took your hand into hers and even Mo’at regarded you, her concern shown as she stepped forward too.
Everything he ever wanted you had.
You were one of The People, accepted by Neytiri and Mo’at, and even before he was born, you were inducted in worthiness, your legacy so grand, so perfect, that the father you shared didn’t even bother to try to love him.
Neteyam came up from behind them, placing his hands on both of their shoulders, distressed as he whispered, “You cannot be here. Dad will skin us if he finds out.”
Spider pushed Neteyam’s hand away, storming off. He looked at Lo’ak, astonished by Spider’s reaction and Lo’ak got up from his crouched position, running off in the direction Spider ran off to.
Tuk climbed up onto the rock, Kiri behind her, as she crouched beside Neteyam, whispering innocently to him, “What’s going on?”
Kiri gave her brother an apologetic, sheepish look, but he let out a long frustrated sigh, pinching his temples together in frustration and mentally scolding himself for not anticipating them. He got up, picking Tuk up and carrying her, Kiri beside him as they both ran off to catch up with Lo’ak and Spider.
He had run off toward where he slept, the quarters for both humans and avatars clustered between the rectangular metal sites, identical to the shack in the other part of the mountains.
Before they reached the perimeter of it, Lo’ak stopped him from continuing. “Spider!” Lo’ak taking hold of his arm, “Are you okay?”
“Of course I’m not okay!” He pushed Lo’ak away, his breathing heavy as he said his thoughts aloud, spilling haphazardly in anger, “Did you not hear what she said? Everything I know is a lie! I thought that my parents had died for something right, but t-they were the enemy. My father killed Kiri’s mom and tried to destroy everything here.”
Kiri went to his side, kneeling down as she tried to calm him down, “You’re not him, Spider.”
Neteyam pushed for reason, abating how dumbfounded he felt hearing the truth, “Kiri is right and you cannot change the past. He’s your father.”
“And he’s her father too. Y/n is my sister, if I can even call her that,” Spider buried his face in his hands, so angry that he couldn’t help from tears falling down his face, “I’m nothing to him, just the son he never wanted, while she got to be his daughter. He chose her.”
“She couldn’t have wanted that for you, Spider. Did you not see how hurt she was over everything? You can’t blame her for what he did.” Lo’ak explained.
Spider scowled at him, “So you’d rather defend her than your best friend?”
“It’s not like that, okay? You don’t know her, Spider. You don’t know the whole story.” Lo’ak argued.
“Oh, and you do?” Spider inquired with fury in his eyes, “Whether I know her or not, it’s just like Neteyam said, it won’t change anything.” Too angry and too hurt, Spider left without another word.
Kiri stood up, her heart aching as she watched Spider go, Neteyam put a hand on her back, “You know him. He will cool off eventually.”
Tuk, who was confused about what was happening, agreed with Neteyam out of concern for Kiri, “Yeah, Kiri. Don’t worry.”
Kiri glared at Lo’ak, her own disdain showing in her voice, “How could you let him just listen to all of that? How could you not be more sympathetic toward his situation?”
Lo’ak argued back, just as fiercely as his sister, “He wanted to go on his own, okay? And besides, what should I have done? Hold his hand? I was trying to be reasonable, Kiri.”
He stepped forward, his voice stern, “Ask yourself this question, do you think it’s her fault? After everything you learned about her, after what she told you about your mom...do you think that Spider’s right for making her the bad guy? The bad guy is her father, the guy that would have killed Tuk and I if she wasn’t there.”
Lo’ak had so much more to say, the tension between him and his sister as she maintained her glare, her pride too great to admit that he was right.
Neteyam subdued the tension, interjecting as he stepped between them, “That’s enough. Let’s go home before dad notices.”
In his anger, Lo’ak had forgotten about his dad, “Ugh, dad’s gonna kill us when he finds out.” He groaned, dreading the long-winded lecture he knew was inevitable.
“No, he’s gonna kill you.” Kiri spat, her voice laced with attitude as she walked away.
~
“How much did he hear?” Jake was rubbing his forehead, agitated as his children were in front of him.
Lo’ak paused before responding, “All of it.”
“And where were you? I told you to take them home.” Jake asked his oldest son, so obviously disappointed from the way his voice cut so callously through the air.
“Sorry, sir.” Neteyam let out, his hands behind his back.
“Ma Jake. It has been a long day and the children must sleep.” Neytiri let out, keeping her voice mellow.
“I’ll deal with Spider tomorrow, alright?” Everyone nodded and Jake, satisfied, told them to get ready for bed.
Rolling out their mats, everyone quickly laid down, wanting to leave behind the heaviness of the day. Eventually, sleep overtook them all, but Lo’ak, who had tried so hard to succumb to that heaviness, couldn’t keep his eyes closed, his thoughts naturally wandering to you.
He couldn’t help it as he wondered if you were okay, wondering if you were sleeping too or lying awake like he was. Lo’ak couldn’t leave his inner questions unanswered and without hesitation, he slowly lifted himself up, quietly ascending and carefully stepping toward the entrance of their tent and slipping away.
He quickly made his way to the tent you were in and once he made it to the entrance, he pulled the curtain back slightly, peeking his head in, the light of a small candle illuminating the tent in a dim amber hue. He didn’t expect to find Mo’at there, still awake and seated on the floor in a meditative state.
Somehow, she didn’t even need to open her eyes to know that it was Lo’ak, talking quietly as she acknowledged him, “Why are you here, my grandson?”
Lo’ak walked through, closing the curtain and stepping forward, his eyes going to you in the hammock, and although you were lying down, you were wide awake, only pretending to be asleep. You were afraid to, expecting the nightmares to come again, and after the day that you had, you knew that they would be worse this time around.
And with those nightmares also came your infiltrating thoughts, thoughts consumed with problems that were ahead of you—your father, your brother, and your struggle with your new life—sleep couldn’t cure those problems, leaving you to feel guilty to even just rest.
But hearing Lo’ak come in distracted you, and you listened to him intently, focusing on him and the unusually long pause that occurred after Mo’at’s question. Lo’ak was thinking up an excuse, and in her curiosity, Mo’at opened her eyes.
Lo’ak was teetering on his heels and remembering you had given him those pictures, he pulled them out of his pocket, “Her pictures, I wanted to give them back.”
“Really?” Mo’at asked, raising an eyebrow, “Why do I feel as if you are here for more than that? You are concerned for her, no?”
Lo’ak didn’t have a response to her question, any words he was thinking of saying getting caught in his throat.
She looked behind her, her head still pivoted toward you as her eyes landed on her grandson, who had focused his gaze back on you. As if that didn’t make things any more obvious to Mo’at, she could sense his quickened heartbeat and his underlying nerves by her own motherly instinct.
Mo’at got up, a hand on her heart as she grinned at Lo’ak, her next words trusting in the voice that she felt in her soul, “Why don’t you watch her until morning for me? Your grandmother must sleep.”
“Really?” Lo’ak replied, his excitement bouncing off his final syllable.
She lowered her eyes at him, “Yes, but I can stay here if you do not wish to-”
“No, I’ll watch her. You go and rest.” He interrupted.
She put her hands on his shoulders affectionately, “Good, good. I will be back in the morning.”
When you two were finally alone, he placed your pictures neatly on the table before slowly and quietly making his way to you. He leaned against the wall, admiring you. Even in your other clothing, your appearance rugged from the forest and blood dripping from your wound, Lo’ak thought you were pretty. But in the candle light, you were luminous, its rays cascading its amber colors onto your skin, most of your body now exposed to drink up the hues.
You still had your eyes closed, and you could feel his eyes on you. You cleared your throat, startling him as you spoke, “I know you didn’t come all the way here just to stare at me.”
“Have you been awake this whole time?” Lo’ak asked, stunned.
You finally fluttered your eyes open, “I couldn’t sleep. So what’s your excuse?”
Lo’ak stood up, “Didn’t you hear? I wanted to give your pictures back, that’s why I came.”
He kept his tone as nonchalant as possible, despite how much he could feel his heart pounding against his chest and his palms becoming sweaty with how nervous you were really making him.
You still looked at him with a suspicious expression, “In the middle of the night?”
“They’re important to you, aren’t they?” Lo’ak scoffed, trying to keep his composure.
Everything he was saying was defying any reasonable logic, but you were amused by him, smiling as you walked over to the table, questioning him further, “So you woke up just to give me these?”
Lo’ak crossed his arms, dedicated to maintaining a cool demeanor as he responded, “Well, yeah, but my grandma asked me to watch you too,” He paused, watching your reaction as he took the opportunity to tease, “She’s an old woman, you know. She needs her sleep.”
Although you knew he was making excuses, you played along, “Are you always this thoughtful or are you trying to impress me?”
He circled around you, his gaze fixated on you as he took a seat in the hammock, laying his back into it and resting his hands beneath his head, “Why? Are you into it?” He genuinely wanted to know, his eyes glinting with a ferocious curiosity.
You couldn’t take him seriously though, laughing as you approached, taking a seat beside him, “You’re in my spot.”
He put a hand on his chest, fake pouting, “And you don’t want to share? After I interrupted my perfectly good night to come here?”
You let a breath out, and to his surprise, you actually did lie down next to him, so unconcerned as you carelessly let your arms and legs touch his, the feeling igniting his cool skin.
“You’re lying.” You said, “Come on, why are you really up?”
Lo’ak gulped, adjusting himself slightly to give you more room, but you stayed still, only moving your head to look at him. Your foreheads weren’t even touching, but they might as well have, the effect of your proximity creating a tension that only Lo’ak seemed to notice.
Even though he was curious, he didn’t bring anything up about your old life, about Spider, not wanting to make you feel uncomfortable. Lo’ak found refuge in the ceiling as he responded, “I couldn’t sleep. I was too busy worrying about you.”
He glanced back at you, looking for a specific reaction in your eyes, hoping that you were feeling the same tension he was. You seemed immune to his continuous charms as your gaze gave him no indications, unreadable as you simply listened to him, your expression as calm as before. But you did feel it, unsure of what it was and unsure of how to react to it, having never felt anything like it before.
He suddenly felt awkward, clearing his throat, “So what about you? Why aren’t you sleeping? You can tell me…or don’t. Whatever you want.”
For a moment you hesitated, not wanting to share your troubles with him, to burden him with that unbearable weight. But Lo’ak had managed to make you feel lighter and you somehow found yourself talking to him easily.
“Nightmares.” You let out, “I always had nightmares when I lived on the base, but when I moved to the shack with your dad and everyone, they stopped.” You paused, “I guess I’ve still got my old habits wired in this new brain.”
“Well, not all your old habits,” Lo’ak began slowly, adjusting himself and giving you his full attention as he turned, “You know, I never thanked you for saving me, for protecting Tuk, so thank you.”
You did the same, shifting yourself as you looked at him, “You know, it’s weird. All of you have no problem seeing me as one of you, but I’m still having a hard time believing it.”
I’ve lived here my whole life, and I still have a hard time too.” Lo’ak held his hand up, wiggling his fingers, “Ketuwong, alien—it’s all they see, even though everyone denies it. “
You softened your expression, saddened by how he had said it, his voice desperately wanting to sound detached, indifferent to the problem, but despite how hard he tried to mask how he felt, you saw right through his attempt at apathy.
You held your hand up, aligning your fingers and touching your palm to his, “It’s okay. That means we match.”
Lo’ak’s mouth parted in surprise before he quickly pressed his lips together into a smile, not one of his usual smirks, but a real one, one he rarely ever showed, “Yeah, we do.”
You hardly realized the implications of what he said, your mind rationalizing it as your heart acted on its own, beating rapidly, so moved by the way your hands touched and the way he was smiling at you. Everything stirring inside of you felt like uncharted territory, the matters of the heart having never been traversed by your soul.
Yet, that territory did not resemble harsh landscapes or scary, rocky heights. It felt more like you were crossing through the bluest and calmest of waters, freely flowing and fluidly ferrying those feelings in you, easing and rocking them as they slowly settled within. And while you eased into those affections slowly, Lo’ak didn’t have to. He knew exactly how he felt about you, and he felt confident in his ability to make you realize the potential of your growing connection.
You retracted your hand slowly, resting it on your chest as you looked at the ceiling again, a blush settling on your cheeks. You both found yourselves in comfortable silence for a moment, peace finding the both of you just as it had when you were lying on the grass in the forest. Lo’ak was thinking of something to talk about, wanting to take your mind off of the nightmares and what had happened earlier that day.
His mind finally settled on a question and shifting his gaze from the ceiling to you he began, “So, what are you…” His voice quickly trailed off when he saw your eyes were closed.
You had fallen asleep.
He couldn’t believe it, and since you had fooled him once before, he uttered your name in a faint whisper, to which you held no response to, only breathing steadily as you laid still. Lo’ak felt the heaviness of his own eyes, but waited to fall asleep for as long as he could, ready to be there for you if the nightmares crept up in your mind again.
But they never did.
~
You awoke as light peeked through the tent, the rays from the sun infiltrating the space and signaling the morning’s arrival. You didn’t want to open your eyes, too comfortable in the position you were in. It wasn’t until you felt slight movement from next to you and the touch of a hand around your waist that you finally opened your eyes. You were lying on your side and looking over your shoulder, you found Lo’ak, still sleeping, his arm comfortably snaked around your waist and his other one positioned where your head had been.
You put your hand over your mouth, shocked and wondering how you let yourself fall asleep with him last night. Carefully, you tried to lift Lo’ak’s arm from your waist, but the movement only made him pull you in closer, the feel of his breath sending goosebumps down your spine as your back hit his chest. You tried again with a little more force and you were finally able to slip out from underneath him, lightly touching your feet onto the ground as you cautiously looked back at him, making sure he was still asleep.
To your relief, he was, and you wasted no time walking out of the tent, pulling the curtain back quickly and shutting it. You let a breath out, patting your cheeks and closing your eyes as you tried to process what had happened, trying to distract yourself from the scene in front of you. Life was already active in the camp as you saw everyone begin their daily routines, warriors already meeting, families preparing meals for their families, bundles of materials being carried around between women and men, and lastly you saw the very few children wandering, their eyes still tired as they yawned.
“I assume you slept well in my grandson’s arms?” Mo’at spoke from the right of you, the suddenness making you jump.
You felt your cheeks turn pink, your eyes darting to her. You greeted her properly, touching your hand to your forehead and extending it to her as she did the same.
Seeing the slight panic in your eyes, she put a hand up to reassure you, “Do not worry my child. I only tease.”
Her idea of a joke made you feel queasy with nervousness as you let out a weak laugh, “Ah, you’re funny Mo’at.”
She had her hands clasped together, an amused smile on her face, “But I am right, no? You were able to sleep.”
You scratched your head, looking away from her, “I was sleeping before Lo’ak got there.”
She raised an eyebrow at you, “You did a poor job fooling me.”
You gasped, “You knew the whole time? Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Sometimes silence is better than talk.”
She looked back at the tent, placing a hand on the curtain as she pulled it back, revealing Lo’ak, still soundly asleep, “But, it was not my silence that calmed your heart, was it?”
You turned violently pink as you struggled to respond to her, “Well-I mean-I-”
“Do not worry. This will be our secret.” Mo’at whispered.
In her excitement, she was getting ahead of herself, spewing her words out with pride, “But, do not hold shame over this, y/n. My grandsons are the most handsome of all the men here. If you realize you are not too fond of Lo’ak, then I’m sure Neteyam would be very good for you.”
You still didn’t know what to say, your mouth parting to speak, but no words falling out. Your shock only allowed you to nod, as you barely even registered what she had said, your mind and heart racing to catch onto the words to understand their heft.
She gave you a pleased smile, putting an affectionate hand on your cheek before she drew the curtain fully, the pouring light from the entrance into the entire tent, the abruptness of sunshine instantly stirring Lo’ak awake.
Rubbing his eyes, Lo’ak sat up and Mo’at approached him, her hands clasped together, “I suggest that you run back home Lo’ak before you get into more trouble.”
Planting his feet on the ground he stood, grunting, “I’m always in trouble, grandma.”
He looked over to where you were, and when you made eye-contact, Lo’ak smirked, “At least this time, it’ll be worth it.”

First Things They Say to MC
Lucifer
“I will explain everything to you.” — (1-1)
Mammon
“Huh? Who the hell are ya? You ain’t Lucifer.” Or “Are ya foolin’ around? Who the hell are ya?” — (1-1)
Leviathan
“Do you realize what just happened? Mammon used you as a distraction to get away from me. …Or maybe I should say he used you as a sacrifice. I’ll admit that mammon is one of the scummiest scumbags you’ll ever meet…a total lowlife. But still, that was pretty dumb of you letting him use you like that.” *sigh* “This is EXACTLY why humans are— …Wait a second. Humans…yes, that’s it… Suddenly, I’ve got an idea. Listen, are you free right now? Of course you are. You’ve gotta be, right? You know what? Never mind. Either way, you’re coming with me.” — (1-10)
Satan
“Aha. So I’m that one, am I? Nice to meet you MC. I am Satan, the avatar of wrath.” — (1-2)
Asmodeus
“That’s right! It pretty much sums up what I’m about! Including my power. Let’s give a little demonstration! MC, could you gaze into my eyes for a moment? It’s okay, I don’t hurt you. Come on don’t be shy… …Wait a minute. There’s something about you…hmm…” — (1-2)
Beelzebub
“I’m Beelzebub, the avatar of gluttony.” — (1-2)
Belphegor
“…el… …elp… Help… Someone help me… Help… ….Over here! — (2-15)
Solomon
“Hey, you there. That’s right, I’m talking to you, the human with that frightened, tormented look on your face that demons love so much. You’re practically screaming, ‘Come and eat me! I’m scrumptious!’ Your name’s MC, isn’t it?” — (2-2)
Thirteen
“Ahahahaha! Ooh, that was just hilarious! You walked RIGHT into my trap! Well done, Mr. Bucket 3! WELL DONE!” or “Ugh, what was THAT?! Honestly, I don’t believe it! Mr. Bucket Number 3 was supposed to land on your HEAD not the floor!” — (65-3)
Simeon
“Well, hello, MC. I’ve heard a lot of rumors!” — (2-13)
Luke
“Never trust…mmrmhrm.” — (2-15)
Raphael
“…I have to say, I take that as an insult. You think I’m Michael? I do not appreciate being mistaken for that socially inept weirdo. My name is Raphael. Try to remember that in the future.” or “Correct.” or “…Wrong. If you don’t know, say so. Don’t just guess at random. My name is Raphael.”
Michael
“Hello there, MC.” *sigh*… “Here I am, finally getting to talk to you, and it had to be in a situation like this… Can you hear me, MC?” — (38-17)
Little D. No. 2
“Hello there, I’m Little D. No. 2! Ah, but call me Number Two if you would, mmkay?” — (7-10)
Mephistopheles
“Don’t touch that! …So, it’s you. It’s bad form to pick up someone else’s documents and start looking through them, you know? Don’t they teach you that in the human world?” — (63-1)
Barbatos
“…Ah yes, pardon me. I suppose we haven’t met before, have we? My name is Barbatos. I apologize for not introducing myself sooner. I have the honor of serving as steward to Lord Diavolo. Pleased to make your acquaintance.” — (2-13)
Diavolo
“Welcome to the devildom MC. …Oh pardon me. Feeling a bit shocked, are we? Well, that’s understandable. You’ve only just arrived after all. As a human it will probably take a while for you to adjust to things here in the devildom.” — (1-1)

T S A W K S Y U L - sun lilly
Pairing: agedup!Neteyam x omatikaya!fem!reader
Words: 1k+ (7 min.)
Warnings: fluff, love confessions, mentions of mating, use of y/n, a slight insecure reader, wounds, bit of swearing, sexual thoughts, making out, jealousy
A/N: ok so I don't even know why I made this but I am completely obsessed with Avatar and Neteyam sooo why not write if I enjoy reading it sm? Btw English ain't my first language so there might be some wrongly written words, nevertheless I hope you like it!
Translations:
Oel ngati kameie - I see you
Paywll - water plant (used for medicine)
Maite - my daughter
Tumblr media
"Sometimes two souls are matched by Eywa herself."
His grandmother once said, and that was exactly what crossed Neteyam's mind when he first saw you. You were both about 11 and he, alongside his brother were walking towards the healing tent after Lo'ak fell because of a vine.
And there you were, mixing up medicine with your new friend Kiri for the Tsahìk.
"You can't never get away from trouble can you child?"
Lo'ak scratched the back of his neck and sat down waiting for his grandmother to patch him up. Neteyam on the other hand found himself gawking at the new girl, with a tsawksyul resting on her ear, standing right in front of him.
She was beautiful, no, alluring. Everything inside him tingled when she turned her face to hand Mo'at a misture of plants and now Neteyam was wishing he was the one tripping over vine so that he would be cured by whatever was made by the girl's hands.
"Oh brother, this is my new friend Y/N."
Y/N Y/N Y/N, her name rang on his head like a song that never stopped musing.
"Oel ngati kameie, Neteyam." She held 2 of her 4 fingers to her forehead and dropped them, greeting Neteyam in the most unintentionall graceful way.
"Oel ngati kameie, Y/N"
He struggles to breath, the mighty warrior Neteyam was shaking because of a girl?
He knew his siblings noticed his flustered behavior, but he didn't care. He only cared about finding out everything about this Y/N, this behavior seemed to stay untouched for the following 7 years...
Tumblr media
"Mama! I'm going to pick up some more paywll for the Tsahìk."
Your voice rang inside the tent you and your family lived. "Okay, maite. Just be safe and do not come home after eclipse, yeah?"
"Yup!"
You say as you walk out of your house, casually jumping to fasten your step. Teníu your ikran seemed to be already waiting for you and you immediately hop on top of him to sore in the beautiful sky, although you enjoyed being a healer sometimes you wished you could just fly across Pandora with no due time.
That was always on your mind but you cared too much for your people, who else would cheer up the young children while healing their swollen bruises, or patch up the hunters?
Well, someone else probably would but you like the fact everyone liked you, even the most sour kids.
While caught up with your own thoughts you fail to notice the na'vi in front of you preparing to make a clean kill on an animal.
"Oh shit-"
You bumped on the boy's back and he missed his target, something unusual for him. Him being no other than Neteyam.
"I am so sorry 'Teyam, I didn't see you- well I did see you but I didn't really mark your presence."
You ramble an apology to your friend and crush, hoping he could endure your stupidity, but the boy was barely listening to you if he was being honest, your voice was now a background sound while he discreetly admired your body and how your skin was glowing from the sun.
"It's all good Y/N, no need to tire yourself, I wasn't even interested in the kill." That was a lie. He actually needed that kill to bring home for lunch, but speaking with you was far more interesting than a meal. Plus, he made a promise to his parents to start courting you at the Hunt festival, not he didn't think to do it since forever but he just didn't have the courage. What if you rejected him and it made things awkward? He couldn't bare being apart from you.
"Oh, good then." You smile and your eyes wondered his body looking for wounds, a habit you seemed to pick up ever since you tasked yourself with healing.
"Come, you have a big cut right here, on your shoulder. I shall patch you up before it gets infected."
"Y/N, there is no need for that I am fine and it's not that big."
You looks at him with your doll like eyes and he immediately knows there is no way he can convince you to not patch him up.
You grab his forearm and he immediately took a deep breath, calming his body, or more so his cock. He did this everytime your hands were on him and he loved and hated when you patched him up because as soon as you were done with it, he knew he had to pleasure himself while thinking the most obscene things about you.
He knew it probably wasn't the right thing to do, and he sometimes felt shame for having these thoughts about you but he couldn't help it.
You arrived back into high camp and dragged the boy to the healers tent, your second home.
You unwrap the paywll you picked up and immediately started working on your favorite patient.
His skin was soft, and his gaze was stuck on you, amazed by your concentrated face. He was always struck by how beautiful and graceful you were, and he knew he wasn't the only one who thought this. In fact, he heard everyday comments from other hunters on your beauty. But they don't know you like he does, they don't deserve you like he does. If he could choose when to take his last breath, it would next to you, just so he could take your devine scent with him.
"Y/N?"
His voice was a whisper now, hell, he could barely hear his own voice now.
"Yes, I'm almost done."
"Y/N, do you like anyone?"
Your freckles glowed and you avoided his eyes at all cost.
"Y-yes of course, I like everyone."
You say, trying desperately to cover up your massive crush on the boy you were healing. He couldn't know, not when he probably already has his mate promised, not when he basically see's you like a another little sister of his.
"Not like that. Like, is there anyone you would like to mate with? We're at the age of finding a mate..."
You felt sadness wash over you now, although you knew what he was saying is true, you didn't want to talk about mating. Not when the one you truly wanted to mate with was far from your reach.
"Maybe..."
The silent was scratching your skin in a very uncomfortable way and you were counting the seconds till you where finished with the cut.
"Who?"
His voice was stern and with a hint of jealousy, but he couldn't control it. You with someone else but him? Never.
Your silence was not helping either, not that he wasn't confident but you always seemed so distant and uncomfortable when he talked about love or mating, perhaps even sad...
"Is it Naran?"
You shake your head still not daring to look at him.
"Heatey?" "No, no Neteyam it's not-"
He grabs your thigh with one hand and your chin with the other forcing eye contact with his eyes, looking desperately for an answer.
"Who is it then?"
He was starting to get close, too close. You could feel his hot breath on your plump lips and his fingers gripping your thigh ever so slightly.
"Neteyam..."
You sigh, it was him you liked. It was him you loved but you weren't able to make yourself say it, not when he's so close and-
His lips connect into yours. It was sweet and perfect just like you imagined, maybe it even surpassed your expectations. You both start moving in sync like you've done this for your whole life but it was only the first time your lips met someone else's.
He licks your bottom lip asking nicely for permission to enter your mouth, now what started as an innocent puppy love first kiss, turned into a heated make out, both craving each other. Not that you didn't want it but you were question if you were doing it right.
After a rough minute you pull away, a string of spit being attached to your swollen lip.
"Say it Y/N. Please..."
He begged with faded eyes.
"You, you are the... I love you 'Teyam"
He absolutely despised when other girls called him Teyam, with their annoying squealing voice. But you... Eywa, you said it in the most pleasing way for a word to be spoken. All he wanted to hear for as long as he met you was just said in the most perfect way.
He kissed you again, wanting to be stuck in your mouth forever.
"I love you Y/N, I love you so much it's arduous to breath when you're not by my side. It hurts to walk when I know that at the end you won't be there greet me. I am madly in love you."
You huff a breathy chuckle not believing your dream has just changed to a reality.
He smiles still holding your heated cheeks.
"I have something for you."
Your ears twitch in curiosity, as he pulls out a neck piece, obviously made with tsawksyul. It was beautiful.
"Wow Neteyam..."
You admire the accessory, stunned by it's beauty.
"Y/N I was originally going to give this to you tomorrow, to ask you to be mate but I cannot wait any longer. When I saw you for the first time, you were wearing a tsawksyul on your hair. It was beautiful, you were beautiful. It became my favorite flower and my favorite material, everytime I see one I think of you, I guess that's why I love them so much, I see them all the time."
He looks down and takes a deep breath like he always wanted to say this, but took himself back everytime.
"I want you to wear this necklace so I don't have to see a tsawksyul to have your image on my mind. I want it to be backwards. I want to think of tsawksyul's when I see you."
Tears were threatening from falling off your eyes as you hug him and feel a grunt coming form him.
"Oh fuck, I'm sorry I forgot about your cut."
"It's fine, I can handle a cut. What I can't handle is your rejection."
He arched his eyebrow and you giggle softly to yourself.
"I would love to be your mate Ma Neteyam."
Ma Neteyam... He could definitely get used to this. In fact, he wanted to hear that every day.
"I love you."
He says again connection both of your foreheads while cupping your cheeks like he always wanted, like you always wanted.

"Thank Eywa.."
Ao”Nung x omaticaya reader
A/N: Hello! Since i've been writing much for Neteyam it's time to show my other baby some love Ao”nung~~ This was a small thing i head saved it was quiet fun to write
Warning ATWOW ( not really a big warning because this is in the future AU) Aonung being jealous because Neteyam has a crush on you. AND NO HE AIN'T DEAD HE NEVER DIED HERE!
Tumblr media
Everything was back to normal after the events of the sky. People well Ao”nung has changed a lot, a lot nicer and kinder. Something felt different about your feelings for him.
the way his hair grew longer made you wanna braid it. His smile was your world, the way his ears twitch when you're close.
something happened inside you every time you were near him.
Sitting on the sands next to Tsireya talking about your day while he’s on your mind “are you alright Y/N?” I looked at her in her eyes. “ yeah i’m fine.” I smiled it off “Something on your mind?” She looked at the sky.
“I’m almost mature.. i should have made a bond with some before reaching maturity..i'm scared” as i said the words scared she turned her head to me in a flash. “ Scared? You shouldn't be” She reassured me.
“ I- … im scared the one i love has another or doesnt love me..” thinking about Ao”nung.
“I think I’m going to head home. it's pretty late, Goodnight I’ll see you tomorrow” I smiled walking as she waved back.
I went to the entrance of my pod looking at the floor every second bumping into a certain someone I didn't want to see at this very moment. “Teyam? what are you doing here shouldn't you be with your family?” i questioned “I gotta tell you something important cmon!” the Son of Toruk makto.. a great leader.. wanted to tell me something important? soon we arrived at our destination in a cave… with gorgeous crystals “Woah, i haven't been here since ages..” I smiled looking at the glowing crystals outside the cave. “Y/N It’s gorgeous isn't it.” he smiled and laughed “Wish i glowed this much..” holding a crystal in my hand reflecting Blue in the dark. “You know, you're brighter than that, at least to me..” He smiled. “What?” I faced him as i realized he kept his eyes on me this entire time. “Teyam..” I said looking worried.
“Y/N?” I heard a familiar voice behind me.
Ao”nung…we faced him at the exact same time, in a weird position. him on top of me leaning in my face as i layed on the ground on my elbows. “It’s not what it looks like '' I began to stress. “Looks like you've been busy hm.. i'll leave you 2 to it.'' He walked away with his ears down. “Wait! Nung'' I tried to yell at him. “I’m sorry teyam.. i need to go after him we’ll talk later.” I stood up excusing myself. “You know.. You love him don't you?” he smiled at me with a sad look in his eyes. “Oh teyam.. you're my closest friend. I'm sorry but my heart belongs to Ao”nung. we’ll talk tomorrow alright?” I looked at him with sadness in my eyes, realizing he told me he liked me.
He made a gesture of brushing me to him as I thanked him and waved and ran to find him.
it didn't take long to find him, disconnecting from your Ilu and petting him “Hey Nung?” I walked to him seeing his sad face, “You shouldn't see me like this.” He looked away “No.. Look at me..” cupping his cheek as he looked at me. “Oh..nung it's alright..” I whipped his tears away “I can't stand to see you with that forest boy.. please Y/N don't leave me ever again..” he said, hugging me, I never knew he felt this way.. “Oh Nung.. I'm never leaving you” As I lifted his head to look me in the eyes. “I see you.” I smiled “I see you too Y/N..” He smiled.
“i want you to be my mate.. My Tsahik…” he asked me looking seriously in the eyes. He was serious “I've been waiting for those words for ages.. Since we were little kids running around!” I said smiling and jumping in his arms. I felt his hand around my waist and one cupping my cheek. Slowly our lips connected and it felt like a weight had lifted off me..
“Thank Eywa…you're mine now..”

Can I get an Isekai'd Lo'ak x female human reader?
Basically, how I imagine it going is that the reader just finished watching Avatar 2 and then she went to sleep. The next morning, she woken up and saw that someone was in her room (on the floor). She screamed and there pillows at the intruder until she realized that he looked familiar.
After that I just imagine the reader and Lo'ak becoming best friends and the reader starting to fall for Lo'ak, and Lo'ak feeling the same way about Y/n, but neither of them say anything.
Okay- now I'm getting carried away and want this as a series- 🥺
I gotchu! since this is an Isekai I hope you dont mind that I altered a few things. Enjoy! Uniltsa series
PROLOUGE!

"I see now. I cant save my family by running. This is our home, this is our fortress. This is where we make our stand".
First person POV
The screen turned black and the credits rolled in. Turning off the T.V. I made my way to the kitchen to get something to eat my sorrows away. Avatar the Way of Water came out, and I of course watched it. When I was younger my parents showed me the first movie, and after all these years, the graphics hold pretty damn well to today's standards. I was smol when the first movie came out, so to prepare myself to watch the second movie, I watched the first movie. Already I have my favorite characters and of course, they died. How wonderful.
Seeing the second movie, it was no different. Ok it was in a way. My favorite character is lo'ak. I like him. I enjoy how he is so much like Jake yet more of a goofball. Oh to be fun like him.
My heart broke along side with him when neteyam died and attending his funeral. He lost in most confidant, he big brother. To lose a sibling like that sure hits in the feels. Though he has Tsireya in the movie, I wish he had more than just spider or kiri. Like a true best friend, someone who will always be there for him no matter what. Through thick and thin. Not being kidnapped or not being killed.
In way, I see myself in lo'ak. Can never be taken seriously and always the screw up. Oh well, now with tik tok edits, I see lo'ak all over my FY page. He sure is a cutie. I wanna see more of him when part 3 comes out. Hopefully soon.
Of course I do have my fantasies. What girl doesn't? I imagine myself being along his side, in the wonder planet of Pandora, exploring, catching fish, or collecting fruits. Anything just as I see myself with him. Damn, being a na'vi sounds better than being a human. But this is reality and nothing can be done with a magic wand or wishes.
Ah dang! I'm out of pudding! oh well, I got nothing else to do. Grabbing my sweater and money I head out of my place to get my pudding fix. Me being me, I didn't see where I was going, just staring at my phone looking at lo'ak edits.
Wait a second.....is that a truck-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly what is a Isekai without truck-kun?
Anyways, The real adventure begins in the first chapter!! Hope you all enjoyed this bit! Chapter one is in the works but don't know when I will post it!

My avatar tla hot take ACTUALLY UNPOPULAR and not just minority opinion is that Azula is a terrible addition to the series. On her own? Oh, her character was great, complex, etc. She is a queen, a great diva, wonderful villain, interesting, deserved a great redemption too (She is 14! A baby!) etc. She just would have suited a magic girl show, a horror movie (in the typical scary, powerful little girl fashion), or a darker, more mature show with more characters like her, meaning child prodigies, better.
Combined with the rest of the atlab story? Kinda makes me laugh. She is such a ridiculous addition that makes it obvious this is a kids’ show. When I first watched the show, Zuko's father and the fact he had branded him was such a serious “oh shit” moment. Like, that is a father whose expectations are truly ridiculously high. It was scary. I mean who could meet them?
Zuko, whether a villain or an anti-hero, was a special, unique character the first few episodes because he was intimately acquainted with the scary main villain in a way no one was.
Then comes Azula. Come at me to debunk me (I may not even try to argue because this is such a weird opinion in the fandom, for real I haven't heard it) but she feels like a writer self-insert. Not a little kid’s writer self-insert, mind you, she feels like a well-written, dark, and complex self-insert or oc written by a talented fic writer in her 30s with years of experience that may become an original writer someday, but an oc nonetheless.
Azula feels like “oh, Zuko could never live up to his evil father’s ideals? Oh here comes my oc Azula, despite being 2 years younger she is soo much better at firebending and does everything better, even being evil, she is the main villain’s golden child and sidekick! And the sister of the main antagonist who interacts with him constantly!” (oh isn't that so cool?) “oh shit wait she needs flaws otherwise she is a villain Sue, let's see.… perfectionism! Perfect flaw! and at the very end after needing a 2 against 1 setting to be defeated she has a mental breakdown, perfect!”
“But gifted children and prodigies exist!!” you may say. Yesss I knowww. She is both too dark of a concept and too corny for atla. I see the flaws and contradictions in the ~vibes~ Azula gives me, thank you anyway. But regardless of rationally being aware of this, the reveal that this powerful character that comes to replace Zuko in causing the gaang trouble (Because let's face it, the beginning of Zuko's redemption arc and needing an even bigger bad to replace him and shock the viewers by how much more dangerous/powerful they are is the whole reason for Azula’s existence) is his 14-year-old LITTLE sister is so… dorky and laughable for me personally. And not only because of her gender in case you come to attack me from that angle. Zuko's prodigy little brother would perhaps have been an even worse and more ridiculous big bad replacement (Girls being shorter is understandable, but with a little brother we would visually see how much Zuko would be able to beat him if this weren't a kids’ show with magic, it would be even harder to suspend my disbelief to). Like, I am sure the reasons I hate the concept are the very same reasons some others love it, but you are telling me that the one capable of fulfilling the evil child burner father's expectations is… simply some rando younger child? It is not that Ozai was a freak who wanted the impossible, it is just that Zuko wasn't it. It is corny, it is dumb. It is so obviously meant for kids. Thanks, I hate it.
Azula also combines in a very weird and bizarre way with Zuko's tragic origin story (Also it is just another source of angst that is completely unnecessary, that distracts from what his father did to him and never living up to his expectations or being too compassionate for his own good, now there is a little sibling in the way being better than him at everything). Call me crazy, but Zuko as an only child, or at least a child without crazy op YOUNGER siblings would have had a MUCH more interesting relationship with his father. Perhaps an even ANGSTIER and more complex relationship where his approval is just within reach but also not quite there. Where it seems conceivable and yet out of reach. Where Ozai is the type of abuser who gives him praise when he does something right just to tear him down mercilessly when he doesn't.
What Zuko has in canon with Ozai and Azula is also interesting, painful, and angsty, but it is “never be able to be this other random younger child who happens to be a prodigy so what is even the point of trying when dad always reminds me of how meh I am compared to her” instead of “never be able to be like my father who is putting all his hopes and that of his empire on me, who at times seems to care so much”. That last one is much more compelling for me personally for a character that ends up being the opposite of his father and learns being like him is not a good thing, it also gives Zuko a good, believable reason to keep trying to please his father: there is actually a chance, there is no one there who has already won the race. Oh my, his search for the Avatar would have made so much more sense without Azula why does Azuka exist in this universe whyy 😭
Don't get me wrong, the sibling rivalry and abusers putting children against each other, having a golden child and a scapegoat, is realistic in many families, but from a storytelling perspective I find it VERY whatever, MEH. Like, the moment Ozai burns Zuko would have been a much greater instance of utter betrayal and shock if Ozai actually acted at times like he had some hope in his son instead of being constantly comparing him to his sister. Now everytime I am made aware of what Ozai did to Zuko I am like “duh” what were you expecting, Zuko, baby? It is still evil as fuck, but no longer shocking or a wtf moment, it is just the boring, edgy and predictable culmination of Ozai already having a “better” child he prefers to succeed him, a total overkill, and in fact, knowing Ozai, he should have done so earlier or straight up had Zuko killed, it makes no sense he is still alive when Azula is a much better successor from his perspective. It means nothing and Zuko should of fing course be traumatized and emotionally and physically distraught by the damage done to him by his own father, but he should not longer logically be that shocked or struck dumb. From a fictional, storytelling perspective, for me personally, the moment loses a tiny bit of its power, at least from the betrayal-someone-who-should-care-for-you—hurting-you—instead aspect.
If I had been there to write the ~big worse bad before Ozai~ meant to replace Zuko as he begins his journey of redemption, I would have chosen something much more serious (I get “abused child soldier” is serious, duh, I just mean serious in a way that makes me fear for the gaang being faced not with a peer but with someone bigger and much more experienced, and not just distract myself with how horrible it is that a “father” makes a 14-year-old girl into a soldier for an invading army). I would have chosen an equally or even more powerful, ADULT, right-hand man (or woman) of Ozai. If it really had to be a sibling of Zuko, it would have been a brother or sister 5 years OLDER, and that is AT THE VERY LEAST, perhaps the son or daughter of a minor wife or concubine (To fix the issue of why they are not the heir and why Zuko could be jealous of their much better skills while at the same time still having a good reason to keep trying to earn their father's approval, which is that there is still time to learn and improve as the younger party, this could have also made Ursa more sympathetic since the “evil” sibling is no longer a child of hers that she emotionally neglected). This could also give the character depth in the sense that they hate the fact they have no claim to the throne despite being older and “better”. They could still care for Zuko while having a love hate relationship with them, a sibling rivalry, Ozai turning them against each other, same as Azula, without taking away from Zuko's interesting relationship with Ozai (I just want his urge to overpower his better sibling to come from a place of his father actually expecting him to do it and be mad he doesn't instead of just Ozai putting all his hopes on the other sibling and Zuko for some plot related reasons still wanting his father's impossible approval despite never being able to earn it because Azula is there, better at a younger age, is that too much to ask? Like at this point Zuko should be smart enough to see that firebending skills are inborn and related to ~fantasy-version-of-genetics~, he should logically have seen it is not his fault and stopped trying to be Ozai or Azula MUCH earlier).
So in summary, believe it or not, I like Azula. I like the whole child prodigy golden child psychologically groomed and abused by evil father angle and I would love a redemption arc for her. I just don't like her AS an atla character. I feel like she does a disservice to Zuko by even existing due to how complex and interesting yet overpowered she is, actually. She ruins his motivations imo. Ironically enough, Zuko does not do a disservice to her, he makes her more interesting because he is a warning of what could happen to her if she is not perfect, he makes her vulnerable. But here is the deal, this would work better if she was the protagonist.
Edit: I just realized it is not just Azula who does a disservice to Zuko's story, it is the whole “Ozai straight up hated the little fucker since birth and tried to kill him before as a child therefore what he did to him was not a consequence of Zuko being compassionate as fuck, Ozai might as well have been looking for an excuse”. It just cheapens it immensely.
Zuko caring for those soldiers still counts just as much (of fucking course), but it would have been more poignant story-wise for his suffering to have also be a direct consequence of his first signs of goodness + his father being an abuser pshyco and not just the latter + Ozai always hated him because Zuko is the good guy and his father’s empire is evil so we need a way to make the children see Zuko is good and not like the rest from the beginning in a painfully simple way by making Ozai inherently hate him or smt because abusers “loving” their children in fucked up ways is too complicated

- Being childhood friends with Korra definitely means your families were friends and thus, by circumstance, you two are friends too.
BACKSTORY
- It started off when you were babies, then you grew older and older and can’t remember a time without each other.
- You two would constantly run around the village together, have snowball fights, and have countless amounts of sleepovers. You guys were inseparable… that was until she had to be more responsible with her avatar duties.
- She was always training. Always. Sure, as a kid she would always do something to show off her special avatar abilities, but around the pre-teen age, she trained harder than before.
- You weren’t too ecstatic with all the training because it meant you two can’t hang out as much, but you understood it was needed.
- Slowly, yet surely, you two began to drift apart.
- She was training more and you were seeing her less.
- It went days, weeks, months, and now she’s in Republic City and you haven’t seen her in years.
- On one glorious day though, you were finally accepted to go intern at Sato Industries. Years of sending letters and trinkets and waiting FINALLY paid off.
You packed your stuff, said goodbye to family and friends, kissed your pets goodbye, and you were off to Republic City to start your new career in engineering.
You would be lying to yourself if you said you didn’t think of the possibility of stumbling into Korra while you stayed here.
Was it so bad to want to see the tall girl with the long ponytails and baby blue attire? No. You didn’t think so.
As you were sorting through papers in the Sato office, you heard a familiar voice.
“Oh! Yeah, I’ll get those for you. They’re in here.”
You sigh from relief. It was just Asami talking to someone.
“Okay! Can I come with you?” “Sure!”
Ah, wait a second. Who was that second voice? They also sounded vaguely familiar. You couldn’t pinpoint where you heard that voice from.
Continuing to sort through papers and signing things off your checklist, you heard the big and creaky oak door open and then clicks of heels and muted shuffles of other shoes.
You looked up to send a warm smile to Asami, but was shocked to see someone that could be considered your family.
“Korra?”
“Y/n!”
-
PRESENT DAY
- It’s pretty safe to say Korra is the friend that will tackle you whenever you see each other. She can be a pretty touchy person when it comes to those close to her.
- She would tackle you if you haven’t seen each other in a while, tackle you when you did a good job on something, or tackle you just to mess with you.
- Can you blame her though? She hasn’t seen you in years and never knew how much time she had with you because of her avatar duties and your internship ending.
- She wanted to make up for lost time with her tackles.
- You do get a ton of bruises though.
“O MY SPIRITS GOOD JOB!”
*tackle*
“KORRA!”
- In addition to tackling and being excitable around you, Korra is always the one to get you two in trouble.
- She hasn’t had someone from her childhood visit her in Republic City before. Hell, she hasn’t had anyone come up and the fact that you’re staying because you’re working was butter on her bread roll.
“Hey, so, I was thinking—“ “No. You got me in trouble with Tenzin last time.” “Oh, come on! That was harmless fun. Plus, you won’t get in trouble this time!~” “… fine.”
- Granted, no matter what she says, you get in trouble somehow. That doesn’t stop her though.
- After getting scolded, she would look at you with that stupid smirk on her face.
“Ah dammit. Again?”
- Like you used to do when you were kids, Korra would invite you to sleepovers. Except, now it’s more so she’s forcing you to sleepover.
- You’re always like, Korra nooo, I have to workkk, yada yada. She’s not hearing ANY of it.
- She will drag you to her room and then tell Asami to give you a pass since it’s her company anyways.
- Asami will refuse for a little, saying it wouldn’t be right to excuse you because a cute girl (Korra) asked her to, but at the same time, you never take breaks from work and she knows the importance of taking breaks and allowing yourself to have fun so, sure!
- Sleepovers consists of gossiping, eating, cuddling each other and Naga, and maybe talking about people that caught each other’s eye.
- For Korra, she tells you this whole back story about Mako and Bolin and how they had crushes on her and how she only liked Mako. But then some drama happened…? You can’t really remember. It was super late when Korra was telling you this but she had all the energy in the WORLD.
- And if you thought the brother triangle was confusing, wait until she tells you about the Mako, Asami, and her triangle. Well, the BEGINNING.
- You didn’t know she had so much romance drama here. You thought she was supposed to be training. What the HELL was she doing getting all these people’s hearts and attention.
“So… have you done any training at all?”
“What? Yeah, I have.”
“You sure? Because this seems you have a ton of time of your hands with all this romance I’m hearing.”
“Y/N.”
“Just the facts.”
- Speaking of training, Korra will TOTALLY drag you to her training practices whenever you’re free from working.
- She likes having you there, just keeping her company.
- Plus... it’s nice to have someone to make funny faces to when Tenzin begins to make her pull her hair out.
- She’ll roll her eyes to you or deadpan and you’ll try so hard not to laugh.
- Tenzin never liked the idea of having someone watch Korra and him as they go through their lessons together (he always thought you were gonna distract her), so, you had to be on your best behavior when he was around so you wouldn’t get kicked out.
- If you like working out or sparring, Korra will totally “fight” you for practice. She’ll restrict herself from bending to keep her basic combat skills up to level or sometimes she’ll use her bending to make your workout more challenging.
“KORRA!! Can you watch it with the water ropes? You almost tripped me!”
She shrugs. “Gotta keep you on your toes, my friend.”
- If you don’t work out, Korra will have you help her with her workouts instead.
- Maybe you’ll set up water barrels or grab dirt discs.
- Or perhaps you organize sparring times with her and Bolin! They didn’t mind the friendly competition.
- All in all, having Korra as your childhood best friend is just like having a sister.
- You’re not sure if she’s the younger or older one though...
A/N: ACK SORRY. HAD TO CUT THIS SHORT! I’LL MAKE ANOTHER GOING IN DEPTH AB HER BEING LIKE A SISTER. HOPE YOU ENJOYED!

When Sun and Moon meet - S2
Tumblr media
Zuko x Fem!WaterBender!Reader Enemies to Lovers
As one of the Princesses of the Northern Water tribe, you were blessed with a gift by the moon. However you were permitted to be allowed to use the gift at all costs. From many hidden waterbending usages, the aftermath of the avatar visiting the Northern Tribe had led to your beginning journey, hiding yourself as a water bender as a princess from the Northern water tribe

Tumblr media
I stare at the moon and stars, laying against the grassy land with the Buffalo Yak next to me. We decided to take a break, I didn't want to tire out my only transportation. I didn't feel that tired, I decided maybe looking at the night sky would put me to slumber against my sleeping bag but that clearly didn't do. “I might as well use the time I have” I mutter under my breath and lift myself up. I attempted to try some water bending moves to strengthen my water bending however I haven't succeeded most of the moves. “Ugh this sucks!” I yell at the water causing it to rain. “Just my luck” I said annoyed. “It seems like your waterbending abilities have a high range.” I turned around to see who said that. It was some lady, she looked like she was in her 40s or so. “Who are you?” “Oh just some lonely water bender.” “Did you come from the northern tribes?” “Yes indeed I did, Princess Y/N” She smiled. “Then what was the need to come here? Late at night?” I questioned suspiciously. “Relax princess, I like to look at the night sky here, it's the best view isn't it?” She asked, I slowly let my guard down. “It is,” I sigh. “I have heard that your sister turned into the moon spirit” “You’re correct” The silence lasted longer than I had wanted. “Did you run away because you were tired of the stupid rules?” I broke the silence. “Every woman who is a waterbender who is not in the northern tribes clearly ran away.” We both laugh softly. “I know someone who is a waterbender from the southern tribes,” I said. “Because of her, the Northern water tribe allowed girls to waterbend,” I continued. “That's believable” The woman shrugged. “I believe I never got your name” I asked, turning to her. “Sakari,” She said simply. “I'm married to an earthbender with 2 kids”. I gasped in shock. “What? you're surprised that i'm a married woman” She chuckled as I shook my head “No, I just never heard of anyone getting married without being arranged.” Sakari furrowed her brows “Oh you poor princess” We both chuckle at that statement. “All right, I like you now. Pack up your stuff you're sleeping at my house tonight” Sakari got up. My eyes widened. “Me?” I pointed at myself and she stared at me, giving an ‘are you serious’ look on her face. “Right…” Y/N you couldn't possibly be even more stupider. “How come you want me- wait no. How come you trust me enough to come to your house?” I gathered my stuff from the floor, which wasn't much. “Like you have much experience with waterbending, besides I can't leave a princess in the cold like that” “It's not that cold” “Then stay outside” “No! Sorry im coming” I hurried to catch up to her, tugging on the Buffalo Yak.
  ҉   ☾
Once I saw her house from outside, it looked very homely. “Put your animal in the shed over there”. I complied and moved the Yak under the shed. “I'll see you later buddy”. We walked in and It looked just as cozy from the inside. “The kids are asleep, if they’re snoring it's not my issue” Sakari said which made me laugh. On the walls they have many family portraits, I could tell that the kids look exactly like her. I smile thinking about my own family, slowly realizing I have 2 missing people in it. “Losing someone isn't easy, I know” Sakari spoke up which caught me out of zoning out. “I'm just not used to it…my mind keeps wandering back to the worser days”. I sighed deeply. “You will get better” Sakari reassured me “Let's get you to your room shall I” she pushed me towards my room.
  ҉   ☾
I stare at the ceiling blankly. I wonder how everyone is at the Northern Water Tribe. Probably better because of Katara. I can't do anything right can I? In the end I'm still as selfish as before, using people for my own benefit. I groaned into my pillow, I really need to fall asleep by now, for tomorrow. Then an idea popped up in my head. What if…Sakari helped me with waterbending. I'm not the best at waterbending so using her help would benefit me. I slightly kick my legs in excitement and use that as motivation to fall asleep.
Tumblr media
“I'm sorry Kiddo I'm not sure if I could help you there,” Sakari said uncertainly. My mouth agape “But I need someone to help me waterbend!” I begged.
“Get a waterbending master”
“I ran away before asking for more help”
“Oh…Right”
I sighed deeply “The only help that I got was from the moon spirit, otherwise now I'm stuck” I attempted to guilt trip Sakari, hoping she would give in. “Fine!” She yelled, “I'll teach you all I know”. My eyes widened in joy “Thank you so much! Thank you, thank you!” I repeated in gratefulness. “But!” Sakari put her hand in front of me. “I won't go easy on you” She warned as I nodded.
  ҉   ☾
“You’re not doing this right,” Sakari yelled, which made me grow frustrated. “Ugh!” I threw the water aggressively. Just as I hit my limit, rain started to hit. “Why is it raining?” I scream in anger. “Y/N you have trouble controlling your emotions which leads to your waterbending to react just like you do. You have set the clouds to rain again.” Sakari explained. “How come I never heard of this ‘cloud bending’?” I mocked. “You have higher range than other water benders. I have been realizing that this happens to you when the clouds are low enough. This is beneficial but much more difficult to control.” Sakari moves closer and grabs my wrist. “You have to be calm, one with the water.” She motions my wrists to the feeling of water. “How am I supposed to be calm in this kind of situation?” “Deep breaths…”
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, listening to what I was told. I went to move the water smoothly and not aggressively as I thought I should. “You see Y/N, You did it” Sakari said. I opened my eyes to see the water molding in my favor. “I guess I am doing it” I sigh in relief.
Tumblr media
“You can't bring your animal to Ba Sing Se”. I turned my head around confused. “Why not?” “They’re strict” “But im a princess” “There it is, your spoiled mindset” She sighed disappointingly I roll my eyes at her comment. “I could pretend I'm injured, give me some bandages” I said, urging her to get bandages but to no avail. She looked at me deadpanned. “Oh…May I please have some bandages.” I sheepishly said and she nodded. “You really need to grow out of that attitude princess Y/N” Sakari said, giving me the bandages. “Sorry, bad habit” I shrug. “I'll come see you once I have time, which will be a lot” I smiled, getting on my Yak. “Can't wait,” Sakari said sarcastically, which made us both laugh. “Well, this is goodbye for now” I looked down. “Stop with the sappy comments, you're gonna come back” Sakari slapped my back teasingly. “You’re right, well see you!” The buffalo yak started moving as I waved.
“Good luck!” Sakari called out. “Thank you!”

What would they think when you say: “Come to my room, NOW” without any reason:
Lucifer:
“Hmm… What it’s all this rush for? What’s that much IMPORTANT which MC wants to say it in PRIVATE??” -makes him suspicious. *Chuckles* -because of his thoughts about your work with him-; “Pftt…She/He better has a good reason or I’ll make ONE GOOD reason for OUR IMPORTANT meeting”. He passes the way to your room slowly and lets his imagination goes WILD, but of course not that much you could not handle (He really LOVES you). To be honest, inviting Lucifer to YOUR room when you ARE ALONE, is STUPID. You have to be really BRAVE –also a REAL IDIOT- for doing it, because you don’t know what’s gonna happen next, DO YOU??
Mammon:
“W-what? Your ROOM?? Wait where are you runin’… … WHAAAAATTTTTTTT???? Did, did she/he just want ME IMMEDIATELY? But WHY? WHAT’S HAPPENING???” -He totally is panicked like a pregnant woman :// Maybe he’s A LOT CONFUSED when you said the “NOW” word in the end; because, you know, when you say that word with “in MY ROOM”; it has A LOT meanings, for instance: “I’m horny, help me” or “Wanna see something interesting?” )It’s NOT my problem that my mind is like this😂, you ARE as well).
Finally, he’ll come to your room with his REALLY DIRTY mind (Better be ready for ANYTHING!). Well, Mammon is not that MUCH DANGEROUS like Luci or Satan; but he could be when it comes about your BODY!!
Levi:
He stuttered: “WACC… YO…..CNOEM………. WHAT JUST YOU SAIDDDDDDDDDDD????????”. –he’s even worse than Mam… (Wonder how could he talk?). He’s frozen, can’t get the situation and BELIEVE what he heard!! –a normal reaction for an Otaku… Maybe a BIT overreacted?. “Calm DOWN Levi, it.. it’s just like the scene you saw a lot in ANIMES!.... NO, OF COURSE IT IS NOTTTTT; IT’S REALLLLLL!!! *Talking with his self which is NOT understandable*”.
One Hour Later –read it in poker mood J, like in the SpongeBob SquarePants-; he made up his mind -FINALLY- instead of hiding under his blanket (You HAVE to be PROUD of him!). While he is coming to your room bravely –don’t be silly, he has got A LOT BUTTERFLIES in his stomach-; he’s predicting what sort of THINGS –NAUGHTY ONE, dearrrrrrrr- gonna happen?!! And because of that, he’s REALLY NERVOUS.
In the end, not a DAMN thing has happened :////////  :“SHIT”.
Satan:
“Oho!... Is she/he JUST inviting me for a nonsense thing or want me to HELP with something REAL SWEET??”. *A GRIN just appeared on his face* (I’m a HUNDRED PERCENT sure that you KNOW what he’s thinking about 😉). “Well, if she/he is in a real RUSH… I better not to make her/him wait; *Evil thoughts* Maybe cannot wait for me 😊”, so comes to your room. (Oh MANNNNNNNN… Just LOCK YOUR DOOR!!! Or you’ll NEVER be fine after what happened! TRUST ME!!). – There’s two theories:
1= His thoughts gonna happen; I mean your reason for inviting him is the same as he thought, such as: “Ahh… Plz Daddy help me”. (I won’t continue, because your imagination is really WILD and I don’t like to stop you with mine. Although it’s BETTER for YOU to the reason of inviting him be the first theory, due of Satan’s behavior!)
2= “NOT for SEXUAL REASON???”, he’s a bit mad in appearance and said it in his mind –definitely equals with DEATH… YOUR DEATH. Despite he’s The Avatar of Wrath, he has a very calm reaction –which makes you scared-; but we’re talking about SATAN, so he definitely gonna make you to pay for making him enthusiastic for NOTHING –of course he’ll do the thing which he wanted from the beginning and you WILL have a VERY VERY LONG night😙.
Asmo:
“Hahah… Finally she/he is NOT shy anymore and the time has COME!” –totally euphoric :/… Well it’s ASMO after all, so… Nothing (I want to be SILENCE rather than open my mouth, you understand me). He will get ready –even if he is ready- in romantic way, laughs of his thoughts while changing clothes and predict what was your true reason for inviting him with SUCH A RUSH!! 😶
There is no worry if you turn him down, because he’s NOT Luci or Satan and Not that much mean to make you pay or else!!
Beel:
Doesn’t CARE let alone think about WHAT you MEANT or it MEANS!!! –he ONLY thinks and CARES about food… So don’t let your expectations get HIGH (It’s kinda good, because YOU will be OK instead of being RIPPED or I don’t know, DEAD!!). The only thing that he thought was: “She/He will need some snacks. I better take a lot food and fruits to her/his room”. (Ok…Now you can cry if you want😓; in HAPPY or DISAPPOINTED way).
He’ll come to your room with the FRIDGE!!!!
Belphie:
“Hmm… Why NOW?? Oh, she/he is gone… So that means it’s NOT that much IMPORTANT *Yawn*. Tesh, I was in a brilliant position for sleeping… I HATE it” *gets back to his sleep*. (I have a word… WHAT A JERK… How could he not get naughty or horny??????? Twins have PROBLEMS in things like that!!! NOT OFFENSE).
Nevertheless, he doesn’t come to your room –because he’s SLEEP- and if you wait for him; he’ll NEVER come –like a prince with his white horse in fairytales😴😭.

THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END IS
Resets were a lot more jarring when they were unexpected. Stanley blinked his eyes out of the stupor the surprise had caused and tried to move his head to look around, but he quickly noticed he couldn’t, his whole body was stuck in the starting position. It wasn’t uncommon for the Narrator to lock his movements during the introduction, but this time… something was not right.
The 427 office was darker than usual, even if the lights were on, the darkness felt hostile and overpowering, making a shiver crawl up Stanley’s skin. The drawings covering the walls that were once filled with happiness and fondness, now also looked wrong , the various shapes of the NArrator’s shadow, somehow, seemed even darker, sharper, and almost… malicious. Forever watching the vessel.
Anxiously the avatar waited for the narration to begin, hoping it would lighten up the oppressing atmosphere and calm Stanely’s speeding heartbeat down, the smooth voice with its British accent that made him feel safe. His unmoving hands hovered over the keyboard.
“This is a story of an am҉a҉̴z̶i҉n̶g̵ m̵̴a̴n̸̵ named Stanley– ”
Yet, the voice which was oh-so-familiar to Stanley also wrong, every, every wrong. It sounded like the Narrator sure but it had an edge the man never heard before. An edge Stanley linked as if a wolf stalking its chosen sheep from afar, decided to narrate was its prey was doing, salivating as it thought of its tasty flesh.
“- Stanley lived in a game where he was the b̸e̸l̸̵o҈̴v̵̴e҉̴d̶ protagonist of the story.”
Another obvious fault was the glitching . Breaking, warping, and repeating the words it said. The sound texture was making his head hurt.
While Stanley was no stranger to new scripts, the Narrator hardy changed the opening. This was not something it would do; acknowledging that the parable was game so soon? Compliments towards the vessel without him doing anything?
Wrong. Wrong. EVERYTHING WAS WRONG.
“The protagonist’s role was simple: he was everything for the Narrator and h͛͗͝ë̛͛̽ s͗́̚͞t̍͋͞a̒̓͞ŷ͒̂͡ě̇͡d̛̋̊̾ w҇͆̓͐́̉ỉ̋̓͠t̒̃̉͞h́̾͡ t͐̏̽͡h̛̍͛͛̾͐e̛̅̈͆ N҇͊̃͑a̓̑̄̆͝ŕ̔̉͋͡ř̓͌̅͞a̓̈̅̃̉͞t͋͐͌͞o҇̈̾̓̍r̿̓̊͡ f̶̢͕̘̈́̓̎͊̔͒̕o҈̧͔̙̰̝̩͕̂̅͑́̂̂̚͡ŗ̶͖̰̫̝̖̔̎̽́̃͑̀͡e҉͉̗͖̯͂̃̅̍͑͢͡v̵͔̗̩͎̞͙͖̩̒̄̂̅͂͜͝ę̶̠̥̯̝̳͖̾̈̍̃̈́͞r̶̢̪͔͆͆͌̏̀͞– “
“--Stories he l̀̄͡o̐̈́̑͒̀͞v̓̍̋͠ė̄̕d̿͌̍͡ to play through, the Narrator telling him what he should do, where to go, and how to do it.”
Although what the Narrator said wasn’t exactly true, it wasn’t false either. I mean:  Who’d want to commit their life to you? Thought the way it was said… sounded so… possessive? Predatory? Like it saw Stanley as just a toy, but he was its most treasured one. Its favorite plaything.
Fear crept through his body.
“This is what the m̸̵a̵̵r̸v̸e̵l҈̷l̵҉o̴u̴s҈҈  protagonist did every day of every month of every year, and although others may have considered it purgatory,” the Narrator seemed disgusted just by the thought of Stanley in contact with others. For the entity, it was the only two of them.
“Stanley relished every moment he could spend with the Narrator, as though he had been made exactly for this game~”
And Stanley was scared.
“And d̷e̴a̵r҈ Stanley was happy.”
Narrator?! He thought as loud as he could, his hands no use for signing, What is going on?! All the avatar got was a laugh from the voice, a mean but teasing laugh, similar to when it would mock him in the Countdown Ending. In a normal reset, this laugh would make Stanley feel quite hot under his collar, but not now though, now it made his stomach drop like it did when he turned the Mind Control Machine On.
“And then one day, something very peculiar happened–”
Narrator! Please!
“Now, Stanley darling! You know I̴̧͠ l҉̡͝o҉͢͞v̶̛͢e̴͜͝ when you beg but today YOU WILL be good for me and met me go through this lovely scrpit I wrote j̨̤̩u̖͇͜s̨̠̣͍ͅt͇̜̮͢ f̡̬̳͙̝̗o̡̦̳̝r̜̠͚͓̩͢ y͈̮̖̙͕͜o̢̗̗͓̮̲u̧͇̞͖̪!”
A breath hitched in the man’s lungs with surprise at how true that threat felt. The Narrator had threatened him before, but nothing like this. This time it had all intent to hurt Stanley if he “wasn’t good”. On the other hand–
“ What could it do? Thought Stanley. Hohoh, l̷e҉t̷’̴s҈ y̵o҈u̶ d҉o̴n҈’̷t҈ g҉e҈t̸ t̷o̷ f̸i̴n̵d̶ o̸u҈t҉,҈, my dear Stanley, hm. “ the vessel swallowed dry. “ –Now, where was I? Ah yes!”
“Something that would forever change Stanley; Something he would never quite forget.”
“He had been listening to his b҉̨͠e̷͜͡l҉̕͜o̴͢͞v̴̨͠ę̵͡d҉̛͜ Narrator doing its introduction for nearly, let’s see… a minute when he realized something special would happen in this run!”
“Stanley was shaking with excitement just to think of it!” the man would say it was more like ‘with anxiety’.
“So with a smile, he got up from his desk and stepped out of his office.”
Almost like as on command, Stanley’s body could move again. Immediately, he grabbed his shirt trying to ground himself. Breathe in and breathe out.
“I believe I said: So with a smile, he got up from his desk and stepped out of his office.”
Clumsily he followed the order, hands gripping the fabric tightly, bearing on ripping it.
The first thing Stanley noticed when he stepped out of the office was that the air around him felt even heavier than inside, like the fabricated memory of what an unbearable hot summer day would feel like, it filled his lungs with hot air which made breathing even worst, making him feel weak. It felt like the building had a fever . But instead of normal sweat, it produced a sweet sticky aroma, nothing like anything Stanley smelled before. It also made him remember that he hadn’t smelled anything before, since the parable wasn’t supposed to simulate smells!
This supported, even more, his theory that there was something certainly wrong.
It seemed that the building was suffering from the same odd problem that his office was, all lights looked on but a strange darkness filled all corners his eyes glazed at. Even though, the wall looked to be bathed – why is this familiar? – in a pink hue.
Wait! Pink?!
Narrator! signed Stanley with emergency.
“Oh! yes, dear? We aren’t there yet, just–”
What about the virus?!
“Virus…?” the Narrator sounded so uncertain like it never heard of the parasite before. Had it forgotten the last run again? “Virus… the VIRUS – STAN–A҉̝͚̫̳̭̳̜̣͚̜̤͔̝̪͇̝̰̠̙̱͗̆̽̓́͌̍̆͂͊̃̉̔̿̈̀̒ͅgC̴̲͈̫̗̟̫̭͚͕͍͙͇͓̙̳̦͖̐̅͊͒̈́̀͗̀̄̂̋̇͋̋̽̄́͋̂̅ͅdK̸͙̜̰͖̘̥͍̬̰̗̲̦̬̩͙̬͎̖̞̗̳͖̥̂̓̿̐̓̀̽̈̿̓̄̊̒̉́̈́̐͌̚fHH!̶̝͉͙̣̗̲͉̘̣̪̞̜͔̉̉̌̓̀̄̐̔̋̏̈́̌̔̐̇̚dI̶͖̯͖̗͈̫̣͕̝͔̗̫̙̦͖͇̘̠͔͉͎̖͍̓͒̏̅͛̄̑̿̏̀̂̔̈̔͌̽̏̅͗̈́͌̐N҉̞̟̥͚͕̮̗̞͕̤̭̖͖̬͎̦̞͕͙̘̣̜͍̖̉̏̈́̓͗͋͛̉̀͒̊̆̂̇͗͒̋̆̑dC̵͈̰̘͖̩̦̙̥̞̤̪͖̱̙̭̊̂̏̊̎̊̏́͋͋̿Ǒ̵̙̜̘̮͂̑̀̇̀̍̏̎̓̈̐̓N҉͖̳͎̣͕̙̰͓̫͇̝̩̬͈̮̽̐̃̍͛͊̓̈́̆̅̈́T҉̠͇̳͙̳͉͈̥̮̬͓͙̙̒͑̀̃̒̈͑͆̅̄̾̉̈́̎Ȑ̴̫̯͇̰͉̪͎̙̤̮̜͉̣͌̉͑̓̆̃̉O̷̝̥̙̳̥̱̫͓̰̳̘̮̲̯̥̝͊͗͒̽͗̒̑Ḷ̷̤̱͍͌̉͋́͂̿͗͋͐S҈̯͕͖̝͍͚̟̘̠̥̬̞̜͂̊̑̃̾̃
The ear-piercing glitched scream it let out was so unnatural, desperate, and painful, for him and the entity, that Stanley fell to the floor covering his ears. Too much. Too loud. It was all too much. Difficult to breathe. The scream wouldn’t stop. Please stop. Stanley wanted his Narrator back. The Narrator was hurt. It was hurting him. He couldn’t do anything. Stanley wanted to cry. He wanted to help. Stop. It needed to stop; Need help. Breathe. Breathe.
“À̴͓̠̥̭̞̪͚̱̦̜̝͙̤̞͚͔͔̝̠̤̟͈̽̏̎̔̂̉̀̏̀̔̔̄H̴͔̫̤͓̠͚͓̫̱͍̮͇͔͉̥͉̱̰̤͔̪̥͍̎̾́͐͊̍̄̀͛̓̂̉̿̍̑̇̈͒̒ͅR҈̖͈̣͈̙͎͖̙͓̤̰̙̠̥̗̣̘͇͍͛͂̓̂̐̓̀̂̾́̌̇͊̌̀̈́̍͗̌̄̚̚ͅH̵̖̘̝̜͚͉͚͚͎̫͚̗̯̓̒̀̀̀̇̽́̌̓̄̓͑̂͛̈́̇̊͐̚C̴̝̬̳̪͎̖̰̲͖͚̥̰͎͚̠̠͚͖͆͗̂͑̐̈́͂̃̈́̃̔͌̅̎͆̿̈́́͒̚t̴̡̫̣̠̫̦͕̆̊̄̈́́͞ŏ̸̡̫͖͈̰̭̮̒͆̃̚͡r҈̡̳̪̦͇̀̈͠– Ș̴̛̣̖͊̈͜t̸͈͖̿͋̒͜͡a҉̖͎̦̀̿͂͋͢͞n҈̡͇͇̤͋̎̄͡ley – S̸t̶a̸-a-a-an̵l҈e̴y҉ w҈h҉e̶re– w-w-w̸h̶e҉r҉e̶ a̵r̸e̶ y̷o̵u̵ g҉o̵i̸n̵-g-g-g҉?҉”  the creature managed to ask as the vessel stood up and began to run, rogue tears rolled down his checks –  was it blood coming out his ears? More deafening glitched screeching filled the parable. Stanley stumbled blindly, out of balance with his hands still on his ears.
A noise much like a roar echoed. Echoed inside his head. Watery eyes caught when something made a sudden movement behind him. As Stanley moved his head to get a better look at what did that, he completely lost his equilibrium and he fell face first, the surprisingly rough floor scratched his cheek and palms.
It hurt. Hurt. Hands hurt. Head hurts. The sweet stench was nauseating. Breathing it was making him dizzy. Breathing in. Breathe out. Stanley’s shirt clung to his torso soaked with sweat. Breathe. Breathe. Please stop. Hurt.
“S̷t̸a̶n̷l̴e҉y҉~̵” the sing-song playful tone came from that spot behind him covered in terrifying screams sent a shiver through him, it shook from his hair to his core. More tears ran down, also falling to the floor.
Was the room getting darker? The shadows were definitely getting stronger.
Trembling, Stanley turned to look at the monster making the Narrator its skin.
Shadows moved and shifted abruptly, in nonsensical directions, only growing bigger and bigger. Hearts instead of squares. The lovesick pink in place of the golden yellow, made him want to throw up. Breathe. Sharp black formed teeth. The only thing recognizable was the silhouette of the headset, it was not glitching like everything else. The darkness towered over Stanley, even reaching the ceiling. Breathe! It twitched and screamed. The Narrator screamed for Stanely. For help. To feed.
Please… he begged one more time.
They looked gazes for a second, two seconds. BreatheINbreatheOUTbreatheIN–
The monster lunged forward as the avatar bolted to the nearest door. He had to HIDE.
“W̵h҈y̷ d̷o̸ y҈o̷u̴ r̴u҉n̵,҉ m̵y҉ d҉e҉a҉r̴ S̸t̶a̷n̷l҉e̸y҉?҈ ̵̧̮̥̊̓̑͞D-D-D̴̢̩̣͔҇̐́o҉̧̲̑̄͡n҈̩̆̐̚͜͠'̶̱̭̐͛͢͞t̷̢͈͋̓̓͠ y̸̧̗̯̐͡o҉̞̒̋̕͜ͅù̶̧͉̝̮̈́͠ w̷̨̛̩̠̦̚a̸̡̱̲̍͝n҈̡̗̓͋̈͞t̶̠̪̆͢͝ t҉͇̣̟̎̋͢͝o̷̡̥͕͛͗̌͠ ş̴̘͈̄̀͠e̶̡͉̦͉҇̂̀e҈̧͙̞̗̔̐́̕ y҈̢͖͖̐͊̽̕o҉̡̥̩̭͋͡u̸̡̮̔̐̌͠ͅr̵͇̝҇͐͜ s̵̨̛̟̔͊ͅ–s-sų̵̗͕̐͡r̴̪̤҇͒͐̋͢p̶̡̛̝̂̈ͅr҉̢̯͚̀͠í̷̢͉́̀͝š̶̡̯̜̗̌̔͠ë̸̢͈̐̐͡?̵͓̃͢͠~̵̮̯́͛͢͠”
He gave the Narrator no response. He had to hidehidehide–

We're 5 months into 2022 as of May 22nd. It's time for another look at just how fucked we are by checking in on
The Timeline
Elon Musk buys Twitter to own the libs. Wait actually he changes his mind. Maybe actually yes. Wait. What about all the bots? Maybe no. Lots of people are jumping ship
Eurovision happened. Something about banana wolves and pussy salad? Idk man, but Ukraine won
Square Enix sold a bunch of IPs for... NFTs. Like Deus Ex and Tomb Raider. For. NFTs.
BTW NFTs and crypto fell hard recently
BTW BTW, one of the biggest NFT guys behind those ugly monkeys tried to make a dating site for themselves, then called it off because of too many dudes
Speaking of dating, Dead By Daylight is making a dating sim called DBD Hooked on You, made by the same people that made the KFC dating sim. Now you can date your favorite serial killers and be the "I can fix him" girl you've always wanted to be
Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers came back in the weirdest possible way. Look aesthetics aside, I mean it when I say weird. Like Ugly Sonic makes an appearance weird. Like two characters got together that had no business getting together weird. Like Chip n Dale not sounding like Chip n Dale weird.
You know that bird that was in Lion King? Zazu? Yeah his species is going extinct. I thought it was a toucan or something but nah, thats a Yellow Billed Horn Bill, and climate change is wiping them out.
MCR is back- again! This time Measles didn't come with them
Unfortunately Monkeypox did. Yeah turns out it's was around before in 2003 or so, even 2021. Do some googling but try not to panic. There are treatments from the looks of things so we're already better off than we were with Covid, but educate yourselves on the matter to be safe, and don't brush off warnings.
Fairly Odd Parents has a live action Paramount+ series where Timmy leaves very 2d Cosmo and Wanda to some very not 2d and live kids when he goes off to college or something idk. Btw, Vicky works at the school now. Btw btw, Vicky has a crush on- go ahead and guess- no seriously try it you'll never get it- it's Crocker. Twitchy ass FAIRY god PARENTS ass ear on his neck ass Crocker. Yeah she was 16 during the regular show and he was still middle aged and yes this did come out of nowhere, why do you ask?
Digimon Survive survived development hell and is actually coming out in like 2 months, and seems like it might be a VN with Tactical RPG elements and a karma system- oh and teens will probably die, most definitely
Avatar actually put out a trailer for its new movie. No no not the fun one with the bald kid or buff tomboy- the one with blue people that have sex with their hair
Warner Bros really weren't joking when they decided to make a co-op Smash clone of characters like Batman, Arya Stark, Jake the Dog, and Ultra Instinct Shaggy. It's real. I swear I saw it. I stg Batman and UI Shaggy really fought against Bugs Bunny and fucking Arya Stark. I wish I was lying.
Kingdom Hearts 4 is announced, and Sora has gone down from a size 32 clown shoe to a size 13 as he steps into the most disturbingly realistic world in the franchise yet.
Oh and this was a couple of months back, but Robert Pattison and Zoë Kravitz were interviewed by a Vtuber named LaPlus (La+?) Darkness from the Japanese side of Hololive, where she asked him how he used the bathroom in the Batman suit, and he gave a fun answer. He actually looked happy
And to end it on a somewhat bittersweet note. Scrat finally got the nut. That fucked up squirrel from Ice Age that caused several natural disasters, broke the laws of physics, broke EARTH- he finally. Finally got his nut. His struggle is over.
Until we meet again

ToTK: A princess left behind
This is my entry for @zelinkcommunity Zelink week 2023 day 2 forbidden. The forbidden comes from this being a AU ending of Tears of the Kingdom in which Link kill Ganondorf before he turn into the Demon Dragon and swallow his secret stone. Spoliers for Tears of the Kingdom. Also, Link and Zelda's daughter Charlotte is named after her grandmother.
It has been months since both Charlotte's mother Princess Zelda and her father Link has disappeared and the Demon King has been defeated by the team work of Link and the new Sages. Right now, the four years old princess is on a sky island with her parents' close friends the Sages and Purah the Shiekah scientist. The Sages has last saw Link take a Secret Stone, a Zonai artifact that amplify the powers of the one whose wear it, from the Demon King dead body and strangely request that the Sages guide Charlotte in her duties as heir to the Kingdom of Hyrule and he is sorry for not saving Zelda from a fate. Weeks later, there begins sighting of a green dragon that sudden appear above Hyrule Castle before flying off to the clouds, where the mysterious Light Dragon was waiting for it, and there is no secrets that begin rumors of how the dragons are somehow connected to Princess Zelda and Link disappeared. Among the Sages is the spirit of Mineru, the Sage of Spirit and Charlotte's ancient aunt.
Mineru explains to Charlotte, "Long ago, when your mother end up in my time, in the begining era of Hyrule, I hold Princess Zelda about stories of a forbidden act called draconification. The story goes that 'to swallow a Secret Stone is to be become an immortal dragon... one blessed with eternal life. To become a immortal dragon is to lose oneself.' That is why it is forbidden. After my brother Rauru seal the Demon King at the cost of his life, the broken Master Sword appear in our time and your mother, Charlotte, decided..." and Mineru become sadly, "so that Link could get the sword in time for the final battle..."
Everyone realized what Mineru is hinting at with Purah saying in disbelief, "T-That's nonsense... Zelda would never turn herself into a dragon!" which the Zonai call out, "Maybe that why Link didn't tell any of you when he found out about Zelda's fate! You would have call him mad with grief, when Link was losing his will except to destroy the Demon King as Zelda wanted, just like my brother when his wife Sonia was murdered in cold blood by the Demon King for her Secret Stone! Beside, both he and Zelda suffered a crushing defeat by the Demon King's evil you called Calamity Ganon 100 years ago and it affected their minds!" Purah and the Sages understand that Mineru was right about their possible doubts as Charlotte ask, "What about daddy?" and the Zonia close her eyes and said to the little girl as she open them, "I am... I am sorry, little one... I told you about your mother's fate, because I tragically have a theory about what happen to Link, as he has saw Zelda's memories of me telling her about draconification and her transformation. I see in his face that Link was desperate to defeat the Demon King for something only than protecting Hyrule..."
Sidon made a horrible conclusion and ask, "Please... Don't tell us... Did you believe Link truely swallow the Secret Stone of..." Just then, two roars full the skies and everyone look up to see the Light Dragon and the Green Dragon, both has mane of blonde fur, which are proof of their identities. Riju speak out, "That Light Dragon... she must be Zelda. That mean that other dragon is truly..." and Charlotte speak this terrible realization as well, "Daddy..."
The two dragon sit down to the platform before the gathered group and lower their heads so that their Hylian daughter would touch their fur, just like she would feel their hands. As she does, a glowing light came from Charlotte's hands and spiritual avatars of Link and Zelda appear. Zelda's avatar happily, "Charlotte... oh, my Charlotte..." before she notice Link and realized, "Link... you are here.... but, did you..." and Link reply, "Yes, my love. I defeat the Demon King, with the Master Sword you keep safe for me, and swallow his Secret Stone to be with you."
A few weeks back, Link hold the Secret Stone he took from the beheaded body of the Demon King, seeing that it does amplify the recall ability as he hope, so he is left with his other option to be with Zelda, even if it means forshaking what make Link himself and leaving his daughter and his friends. Link has saw that he has become like Rhoam and Rauru when he learn Zelda fate 10,000 years ago of become a father and king of Hyrule whose lost his wife.
Just like the memoires of Zelda, Link put the Secret Stone and swallow it, which he feel everything fading away as a glow comes from his body before his blue eyes become the eyes of dragon and his Hylian body become a long green dragon with a mindset of finding his mate, the Light Dragon, roaring as it fly from above Hyrule Castle and into the skies of clouds where she waited him.
Link said to his friends with one last look, "Please... protect Charlotte... make her happy... ensure that the Hyrule she will lead will never face another evil like Ganon again." and both Zelda and him said to their daughter as their avatars fade away, "We love you, Charlotte... with all of our hearts." Soon, the two dragons fly out to explore and protect this land, together in eternal union. Mineru sigh and said, "It's a bettersweet ending. My brother and the wife he loved... their Secret Stones has made two lover forshake their mortal lives to be immortal dragons that wouldn't remember their past lives."
In a attempt to cheer Charlotte up, the Sages speak, trying to do so together, "Those of us... gathered here... swear on our lives... to support Princess Charlotte and...." They stop for a brief moment which cause Charlotte to giggle before the Sages try what Link told them before his transformation again, "to support Princess Charlotte Zelda Hannah Hyrule and safeguard the land of Hyrule."
After Mineru's spirit fade away, and Charlotte see that the Secret Stone that is now hers has become the mix of white and yellow to symbol her light and time powers, which her powers and her ancestors has.

Going to the labs wasn’t such a strange thing for Niri’te, she had spent a lot of her childhood there, either going for her check-ups or visiting her real mother with Kiri and their father. Niri’te didn’t quite like the latter, having the words Kiri hissed at her face still floating in her mind.
“There is no way we can be related. My mother would never give birth to a freak like you. ”
So it was safe to say that she didn’t like those visits. Jakesully had tried to understand her hesitation, he obviously knew of the hostility between the two girls. Still, he couldn’t wrap his head around why Niri’te wouldn’t want to see her mother.
Niri’te was shaken from her thoughts as Lo’ak came bounding up to her, Spider not far behind.
“Hey, mom told me to remind you that you have a check up today,” he said, stopping next to where she was organising some herbs for her grandmother. “She wanted to tell you this morning but you ran off so,”
“Okay,” she nodded, setting down a prickly red root. “You wanna come with me?"
She watched Lo’ak debate the question in his head, while Spider just stood there, eyeing her as they waited for Lo’ak to answer.
“Alright, sure.” he finally said, directing Spider’s uncomfortable gaze away from her.
Niri’te nodded, making her way past the two boys as she headed in the direction of the labs.
The two quickly followed behind her, shoving each other and throwing teasing insults. They passed Kiri, who didn’t seem to be doing anything. Her eyes skimmed over Niri’te and Lo’ak, settling on Spider in a fond gaze. Niri’te didn’t understand her sister’s affection for the human boy.
“Where you guys going?”
Niri’te didn’t answer as she kept walking.
Lo’ak looked up. “We’re going to the labs, Ri’te needs to go for her check-up.”
Kiri looked at Niri’te, who was a bit ahead of the group and scrunched her nose. “Does she still go to those? I thought they stopped after they couldn’t figure out whats wrong with her.”
Kiri heard a growl. She looked back to see Lo’ak glaring at her, eyes bright in anger. “There’s nothing wrong with her Kiri, you know that.”
Kiri just raised a brow, “Have you seen her?” and went after Niri’te to the labs.
The two boys stood there, a little dumbfounded at the blatant cruelty displayed by the girl. Spider quickly shook himself and grabbed Lo’ak’s arm, dragging the stunned boy after him.
The two caught up to the twins when they were coming up to the Avatar Zone, as the human scientists like to call it. It sat right in front of the entrance of the lab and was a total hassle to walk around, so everyone just passed right through the zone, much to the chagrin of the humans.
As the group was passing through, they saw Mr Norm brushing his teeth. “Hey kiddos,” he said and whipped Spider with the towel that was around his neck.
“Your ass is mine,” Spider warned.
“I’m right here!” Mr Norm retorted, spreading his arms out. “Oh and Ri’te, I’ll be right with you inside.”
Niri’te nodded at him, walking up the steps to the lab.
“Avatar Zone, walk around!” said a human engineer, Clarisse, annoyed at the blatant disregard the children showed as they walked past.
“We’re 50 per cent Avatar so…” Lo’ak retorted as Kiri stuck her tongue out at the engineer.
“Sorry about them,” Niri’te threw over her shoulder as she stepped into the lab.
Heading further into the lad, walking past the capsules that held the Avatar drivers. She barely glanced at the capsule that held her mother’s Avatar, not wanting to be reminded of Kiri’s scalding words.
“Yeah! Those blue stripes don’t make you look any bigger bro!” she heard Lo’ak say, presumably to Spider, as the rest of the group walked in.
“Yeah well I can still kick your ass.” Spider retaliated and the two laughed.
She felt someone come up behind her, feeling a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see Lo’ak standing there, a breathing pack in his hand. Her hand went to her side where the pack would normally be resting, realising she had forgotten to take one as she came in.
“Thanks,” she mumbled, pulling it over her head and taking a breath from the mask attached to it.
“Yeah, ha ha,” Spider continued, not noticing Lo’ak had walked away. “Real hysterical guys.” He took off his mask, it making the ‘sshh’ and ‘click’ sound as it released the seal around his face. “You know what really sucks though? Is you can breathe Earth air for like hours and I can only breathe your air for like… ten seconds.”
“I bet even less.” Niri’te commented, turning to look at him, and giving him a teasing smile.
“Wow, thanks Ri’te,” Spider answered dryly, a small flush of his cheeks accompanying his grin.
It wasn’t a lot that Niri’te joked with Spider, having not really been friends when the human boy started to hang out with them again. He was still wary of Neytiri, her words still rattling in his head from the incident from when they were younger. After that, the Sully children rarely saw him, only catching a glimpse when on the few occasions that they came with Niri’te for her check-ups. They had only started becoming friends again when the Omatikaya had moved to High Camp, and the scientists had followed.
“Yeah Monkey-Boy, that must really suck… for you.” Kiri’s voice shook her from her thoughts, turning to see her crouched in front of Spider, breathing pack swaying in front of her. The two playfully mocked each other before Kiri turned to make her way to her mother’s capsule. As she walked away, Spider lunged forward and tugged her tail.
Kiri spun around, a good-natured hiss was thrown his way and swiped her hand at him, but he dodged into a separate room holding the Avatar driver capsules.
Spider stuck out his tongue at her, grinning brightly.
Mr Max walked past them as he helped Mr Norm out of his capsule, a bottle of water in his hand.
“Hi Mr Max,” Niri’te greeted as she followed him and Mr Norm to a separate room.
“Hi Ri’te, here for your check right?”
“Yep,” she answered, and the three of them disappeared from view.
Kiri bounded past Lo’ak as she climbed on top of her mother’s capsule. She sighed as she laid down to embrace the glass. “Hey mom,”
Spider and Lo’ak shared a look, Spider raising a brow. Lo’ak snickered.
Soon Kiri had a video log of Grace playing on a screen, intently watching as she listened to her mother talk. Unaware of Spider’s gaze she took a breath from her pack, turning around to lean on her mother’s capsule as she looked at her mother’s floating form. Spider came and jumped up on the railing, resting his back against the glass.
Lo’ak approached the screen, staring at it before saying.
“So… who do you think knocked her up?”
As soon as he said those words, a door opened and he saw Ri’te walk out. It was clear she had heard his words as her ears folded against her head and her lips tugged in a frown. Her steps hesitated, coming to a stop as she watched them.
“Pretty sure it was Norm,” Spider answered, unaware of Ri’te’s arrival.
“Totally,” Lo’ak laughed, though a little guiltily as he looked away from Ri’te.
Kiri on the other hand, stood upright, staring at the two boys in disbelief, which soon gave way to anger. “You do not deserve to live.” she seethed.
“No, no, think about it right… he’s the teacher’s pet, he’s at the lab with her all the time.” Lo’ak explained, dutifully ignoring Ri’te as she approached.
“I would kill myself. I would drink acid.” Kiri retorted, her anger settled slightly.
“Bro you’re right, he’s like in every shot,” Spider pointed out as a younger version of Mr Norm appeared on screen, reaching from behind her mother, the two sharing a look.
“Look, look, he’s giving her looks.” Spider said as he laughed.
“Hey!” Kiri yelled.
“I mean, you got a point, I’m thinking they were two Avatars out in the jungle, all alone…” Lo’ak teased, hand touching his chest dramatically.
“I think that’s enough you two.”
The two boys whipped around, wide eyes meeting Max’s disapproving stare. He was standing behind Ri’te with his arms crossed, a frown etched on his weathered face. Spider gulped, hating the displeasure shown blatantly on his face. He always hated when Max got that look because it was a look reserved for the (many) times that Spider misbehaved or made mistakes. He supposes he should have gotten used to it by now, but Max was practically his father in all but blood and he just wanted to make the man proud.
“I think you owe someone an apology.”
“Sorry sir…” the two boys mumbled, looking at the ground guiltily.
“Not to me,” he said, voice hard.
“Sorry Kiri,”
“And?” Mr Max placed a hand on Ri’te’s back.
“Sorry Ri’te,”
“I think it’s time for you kids to get going, Ri’te’s check-up is finished.”
They nodded and silently filed out of the lab, putting back the breathing packs and on respectively.
They once again walked through the Avatar Zone, Clarisse didn’t even bother to scold them again.
Lo’ak walked up next to Ri’te, his hand sliding in hers. He gave it a small squeeze, hoping she would forgive him for what he said. A weight lifted off his shoulders when he felt her squeeze back, not letting go of his hand.
“Ya know guys,” Spider said suddenly, kicking a small rock. “Sometimes it isn’t that great to now who your father is, cause mine was an actual dick.”
The Sully children shared looks, their ears lowering. Spider wasn’t looking at them, kept on walking as the others stopped in their shock. It was no secret who the boy’s father was, everyone knew. It had been hard to ignore Neytiri’s screaming as she and Jakesully had argued over the fact that Spider was starting to hang around their children again.
“His father is the reason why we are here in the first place! That man has brought us nothing but pain and death.”
Neytiri had seethed those words in such anger, and with such conviction that it had sent a chill down the spines of those unashamedly listening in. It was quickly after those words were spoken that the two had stopped arguing, both reeling from her words.
“Whatever,” Spider sighed, shrugging as he hurried his pace. “Don’t even remember him…”
“No Spider,” Lo’ak tried, reaching for him.
Spider shook off his hand. “It’s fine dude.”
“Spider,” Kiri said softly, standing in front of him. “You are not him.” she muttered, wrapping her arms around him in a hug.
Niri’te stood and watched the scene from a distance, not sure if her presence would be accepted. She twisted her hands in her shawl nervously as Kiri released Spider from the hug, seeing the tender look in her eyes. She wondered what it felt like to be on the other end of that soft gaze, to see those eyes look at her with something other than distaste and anger.
Lo’ak looked away from the two, turning to see Ri’te’s face twisted in a mixture of uncertainty and longing. He knew that look, the one she would get when she saw Kiri being something other than hateful. He knew she longed for a proper relationship with her twin, wanting nothing but to be close to her sister like she is to everyone else.
It wasn’t her fault that Kiri didn’t like her. It was Kiri’s. It was Kiri’s fault for not realising that she had something special, so special that it wasn’t even a possibility until the two were born.
“Ri’te…” Lo’ak whispered softly, his hand beckoning her closer. She looked at him with hesitance, she and Spider weren’t actually friends, and she didn’t know if the boy would want her comfort.
She opened her mouth to say something, but she wasn’t able to find the words. She genuinely wanted to help Spider, but it seems that he was getting enough of that from Kiri, as the two of them seemed to fall into their own world as they shared hushed words.
She looked back at Lo’ak, eyes clearly showing her inner torment as she debated and worried about what to do. Lo’ak smiled gently at her, his hand still held out to her.
Niri'te looked from his outstretched hand to his soft smile and then to Kiri and Spider. She took a deep breath, her hands twisting tighter in her shawl, she was sure if she went any tighter it would rip. Her eyes went back to Lo'ak's, flooding with emotion as she shook her head, backing away from them. She was feeling too much. She wanted to cry. She wanted to scream. She wanted to be far away yet close by. Too much. It was too much.
She didn't look back as she turned, almost sprinting away from them.
She fled, like a coward, said a voice that sounded too much like Kiri. She dodged between people going about their day, oblivious to the agony she was feeling.
Faintly she heard someone call to her, but she didn't listen. Instead, she called for her ikran, wanting to get as far away as possible before she broke. She could already feel her eyes burning, feel something wet fall down her pale cheeks. She called for Makita again, her voice cracking as she neared a great fissure in the floor, she could see the jungle below. She didn't think, she just did. And with a final call to Makita…
She jumped.
⟪⁓º⁞⩗⩘⁞º⁓⟫⟪⁓º⁞⩗⩘⁞º⁓⟫
The wind roared around her ears, whipping through her hair.
She closed her eyes, just for a moment, and she forgot. She forgot her pain, forgot the look on Lo'ak's face as she ran, forgot the stinging in her eyes, forgot all the scathing words ever said to her. And she felt free, for just a moment. A small moment.
Once her small moment of freedom had passed, she opened her eyes. The ground below was rapidly approaching and Makita was nowhere in sight. She called for her again. Still, Niri'te didn't see her ikran anywhere. Steadily her anguish gave way to panic, she called again, and again the ikran wasn't there. Why? she thought, have you left me too?
The thought left a bitter taste in her mouth.
Niri'te closed her eyes again, this time it was to accept her fate. She was both shocked and appalled at how easily she did it. She thought that she would have this great inner battle with her early death looming over her. But there was no sorrow at her short life, no bitterness of not having done enough, of not having appreciated those around her. Only simple acceptance.
She flipped herself over, turning her back to the ground, gazing up at the floating mountains. Distantly she wondered when she would hit the ground.
Weirdly enough, she felt numb. Numb to everything but the cold harsh wind whipping past her.
Oomph!
She felt an arm wrap around her, pulling her against a chest, warm and solid. She flung her arms in reflex, her elbow colliding against a jaw.
"Gah Ri'te calm down!" a voice yelled. It seemed so familiar.
Her eyes snapped open. When did she close them again?
She looked around and saw her sempu Tsu'tey. Once their eyes met, Niri'te felt all her emotions flooding back to her, her eyes stung and her heart ached. She felt breathless and light-headed. She felt cold and warm, empty yet bubbling over. She was feeling so much. Too much. Hot fat tears rolled down her pale cheeks as she flung her arms around Tsu'tey, burying her face in his shoulder, muffling her sobs.
A strong arm wrapped around her, pulling her close as she felt a kiss being pressed on top of her head. Her stomach swooped as they changed direction, pulling up as they swerved away from the ground.
She expected him to take her back to High Camp, where he would get her parents and they would all yell at her for her reckless decision, telling her that she could have killed herself, that they were disappointed and they expected better from her. She didn't think she would be able to handle that, she could barely think about it. But he didn't, instead, he directed the ikran to a small cluster of floating rocks, not too far away from High Camp.
Distantly she wondered how he was even flying the ikran, having his tswin severed meant he wasn't able to bond with any creature. She could guess it was difficult to fly the creature without the bond, the risk of the creature not listening to its rider increased drastically. It was dangerous. And he risked it just to catch her.
Niri'te hugged him tighter.
Soon they landed, Tsu'tey not letting go of her as they dismounted. He had an arm under her legs and the other around her back, fingers in her hair, clutching her close to his chest.
He walked for a bit before he sat down, positioning Niri'te in his lap, she had yet to look up from her hiding spot in his shoulder.
"Oh yawntutsyìp," he murmured, burying his face in her hair. Niri'te tensed at the name, he hadn't called her that in so long. "What were you thinking?"
"Sempu," she keened miserably, pressing against him. She couldn't face him, not yet. Right now, she just wanted to stay where she was, safe in his arms, hidden away from everything.
She didn’t know how long they stayed like that, clutching at each other with an iron grip. She wondered how long the silence would last, how long will it take before Tsu’tey would push her away and start to yell at her for being so reckless, so stupid that she jumped from High Camp without making sure that her ikran was there to catch her.
Niri’te knew well that she could have died today, and it didn’t bother her near as much as she expected. She felt ashamed for caring so little about her own life, ashamed of how quickly she accepted her death. What would her parents think? What would Tsu’tey think?
Tsu’tey cared more for her than her own father did, and she couldn't imagine how he would take her death. Had he seen her jump? Oh Ewya, what was he thinking? Did he think that she tried to—?
No. She refused to finish that thought.
Her arms wound tighter around Tsu'tey as she continued to sob, the cries being pulled unwillingly from her aching throat.
Tsu'tey was still in shock, holding Ri'te close as his mind forced him to relive that terrifying moment he saw Ri'te jump. He acted before he could even think about what was happening. He called out to her, before she jumped, had seen her running away, the frantic and pained looked on her face. He had just wanted to make sure she was okay.
He had been talking with Akwey, a hunter who had just returned from the jungles, reporting the movements of a herd of hammerhead titanothere. He won't go into detail about why this was important, because he had just seen Ri'te bolt past them, head lowered and hiding her face, but it was clear that she was upset. Quickly he excused himself, giving Akwey just a look, one that clearly showed what he was doing. He didn't wait for the hunter's answer before he went after his daughter in all but blood.
"Ri'te!" he called out, hoping to catch her attention before she got too far. He saw her stumble over the lip of a rock, limbs flailing outwards as she regained her balance. If it weren't for current circumstances, he would have been mightily impressed at the quick movement.
He was starting to gain on her, getting closer as he heard her give a sharp cry, calling for her ikran.
He waited for the creature's answering shriek, but none came. Ri'te called again, but Makita was still not answering back. Tsu'tey didn't know if Ri'te was aware of her ikran's silence, as she sped up, making her way to an opening in the floor.
Tsu'tey was certain his heart came to a stop as Ri'te jumped through the opening, disappearing from his sight.
He didn't care for the looks he got when he called his own ikran, hearing the beast call back. He didn't think as he plunged through the opening, almost immediately landing on the firm back of his ikran. He directed the creature into a sharp nosedive, frantic eyes scanning the air for Ri'te. It took too long before he spotted her, back turned to the ground as she gazed up at the mountains.
Pulling on the lead, he swerved the ikran, chasing after Ri'te as she plummeted to the ground.
It took too long before Tsu'tey managed to catch her, pulling her close to his chest, but having Ri'te elbow him hard in the jaw was not how he expected her to react. But he understood, it was clear that Ri'te didn't know that he had gone after her, following as they both fell through the air. Once she was safe in his arms, he pulled up from the nosedive, directing them to a cluster of floating mountains.
Touching down they slipped off the ikran, Tsu'tey not letting Ri'te go as he set them down on the soft ground. There he took a deep breath, pulled her closer, laying a kiss on her head. Hearing her sobs tore his heart to pieces, he didn't want her to cry. Softly he cooed, rubbing her back, fingers twirling her hair, he did everything in his power to stop her cries.
Eventually, she did, having exhausted herself as she fell asleep in Tsu'tey's arms. Still, he did not let her go, fearing that she might wake up and her cries would start again. Eclipse was soon upon them, it had left Tsu'tey no choice but to take them back to High Camp.
Mounting his ikran, he positioned Ri'te so that she wouldn't slip off. He felt the wind pick up as they took off, circling in the air for a moment before heading in the direction of High Camp. Ri'te was still out cold, her face hidden in the crook of Tsu'tey's neck, looking so small and delicate.
He landed as evenly as possible, slipping off the creature's back as he carried Ri'te home. Her parents must be worried sick.
He entered the family's tent, seeing them gathered around a small fire as they argued about where Ri'te was, some pointing fingers and others throwing out suggestions at where she might be. Neytiri saw them first and was at Tsu'tey's side in seconds, Lo'ak wasn't far behind. Gently Neytiri laid a hand on Ri'te's head, smoothing back her hair away from her face. She muttered sweet nothings to her daughter, glad to see her back safe.
"Is she okay?" came Tuk's soft and sweet voice, tinged with worry as she watched Tsu'tey lay her down on her mat. He turned to look at her, her bright yellow eyes were so similar to Ri'te's. He smiled at her gently, "She's going to be just fine, little one."
"Where did you find her? I looked everywhere."
Tsu'tey didn't know who asked, but he didn’t answer anyway as he looked to Neytiri and Jakesully, tipping his head back to the entrance of the tent. They got the message and the adults filed out, walking a little ways away from the tent, not wanting the children to listen in to their conversation. Lo'ak could see the concern on his mother's face as the three talked, her hand sliding into his father's as she listened to Tsu'tey talk. He didn't need to know what they were talking about, he knew. He saw Ri'te run, saw her jump. His heart had nearly left his body when he saw her disappear.
He understood her reasons for running away, or at least he thought he did. He doesn't know what it feels like to be rejected by his own sister for a reason he didn't know. But the overwhelming emotion that hid in Ri'te's eyes, the sheer rawness of them made it feel like he was experiencing it himself. He knew that Ri'te longed for a real relationship with Kiri, not this misshapen acquaintanceship that she and Kiri had going on. It was like they had just met each other, and Kiri had decided to hate her before she really got to know her.
Turning away he sat next to Ri'te, still asleep as Tuk carefully moved her arm so she could bury herself in her big sister's chest, slim tail wrapping itself around her pale thigh, marred with a twisting scar. He remembered when she got that scar, remembered it like it was yesterday. Her screams tore through the flaps of their grandmother's hut, the deafening silence that came afterwards when she eventually passed out from the pain. The cold look in Kiri's eyes as she sat silent, away from everyone else. He knew she had something to do with it.
He laid down behind Ri'te, his head between her shoulders as he tangled their legs. It was getting a bit crowded on Ri'te's mat so Lo'ak had to shuffle closer than he would usually, close enough that he could comfortably put an arm around both Ri'te and Tuk. He didn't bother saying good night to the others, too relieved to have Ri'te back without a single scratch.
Distantly he heard his parents come back, softly talking as they settled down. He would bet his best bow that they were talking about Ri'te, throwing concerned glances to where she was smushed between Lo'ak and Tuk, but he could care less. Ri'te was back home. She was safe. The sky could be falling outside and he wouldn't care, much too glad to have his sister back.

ooc post: random useless facts 2
i'm low on ideas again so it's time for brain sludge.
i guess i'll start by talking about the christmas event i wrote half of and then scrapped.
the event was going to involve N and sylvan going to driftveil for a holiday party, with sylvan reluctantly bringing his father along (because, y'know, people like spending holidays with family or whatever.) and hoping he wouldn't cause problems.
then vernon would cause problems. (he was gonna find out about N's involvement with team plasma.)
i couldn't really think of a good way to resolve said problems, though. part of the reason i didn't finish writing this event. also because i waited too long to start writing it so i didn't have time to think it through or actually write half of it
also linnet was gonna come back. she wouldn't really have a major role, but she'd be there! and latios too, of course.
oh well. i can rework the important stuff into some other event later.
anyway, on to other stuff.
there are not very many sylvans in the multiverse. most universes just... never had one and never will. of the sylvans that have existed, even fewer of them are alive.
not from like, any one specific cause. just most of them Fucked Up somewhere along their journeys.
some real world pokemon games exist within sylvan's universe. mostly ones that don't have human characters, like mystery dungeon and rumble. (miis don't count as human characters they're just player avatars. sorry miis ily :p)
sylvan's brother, oliver, was originally planned to be a bartender. but then i decided to incorporate him into my other pkmn irl blog that i barely use, and there was no reason for the characters i play on that blog to crash land in the pokemon world and immediately go straight to the bar. so he runs a cafe now.
speaking of oliver. sylvan's name was originally oliver. then eventually i decided the name didn't suit him, so i picked out a new one and later gave his old name to his older brother.
sylvan is vegetarian in theory, but usually vegan in practice, since N is vegan and it would be needlessly pricey to buy both vegan and non vegan versions of applicable foods.
he usually does at least have a pack of mac and cheese cups in the apartment though. saves them for when he's sad or stressed or just really wants some damn mac and cheese.
at some point, i thought about secretly having this blog take place a few years in the future. it was kind of just a cheap way to make sylvan easier for me to write, since i would basically be making him the same age as me.
but then i thought. if i ever actually publicly established the fact that the blog took place in 2030, people might start asking questions about what the future is like and stuff and i realized doing this would be causing more difficulties than it would solve.
on new years, when i'd received the egg that would eventually become Idele, i asked my cousin what should be in it.
he said to put a shiny drizzile in it. i told him, "you can't put a drizzile in an egg, dumbass" so he reluctantly changed his answer to shiny sobble.
i then asked my sister for her opinion. she said a shiny cherubi. i guess she had caught one in legends arceus recently, so it was on her mind. but sylvan already has a cherrim, so i didn't really wanna do that.
so i eventually just. picked neither of those options and went for hisuian zorua because It's Cool.
months ago, when i was trying to decide what sort of character(s) to center my possible future pkmn irl blog around, i had three different ideas.
the first was, y'know... sylvan. since he was a pokemon character i had already made. but i worried that people wouldn't find him interesting or that they'd get mad about him dating N. so i tried to think of something else.
my second idea was for a latias disguising herself as a human because... reasons? i didn't have that part worked out yet. (so, like, a first draft version of linnet. and linnet was only like, a second draft version of linnet.) i kinda just didn't have enough enthusiasm about playing that character for an extended period of time, i guess.
my third idea was for a crossover blog. i thought it would be funny to bring a character from yo-kai watch into the pokemon world. for some reason the first that came to mind was komasan. he's not even like, my favorite yo-kai or anything...? (venoct, if you were wondering. which you probably were not.) anyway i wasn't confident enough in my ability to write as him, so the idea was dropped.
eventually i settled on sylvan despite my previous concerns. then i had to decide where in his story i wanted to place the blog.
the main three points in time i was considering were...
1. a few years ahead of his sort of... base form. like, when i think of sylvan, i think of him at 21, right after bw2. but i wanted to move him forward a little if i was going with a "current" form of him. i do not remember why i made that decision, but whatevs. this is the version i chose.
2. when he was a teenager and just starting out his journey. N would not have been involved with this theoretical version of the blog. (unless it went on for... quite a while.) i dropped this because at the time i was writing a fic that covered that same point in his life. also because i wanted N to be there.
3. when he was traveling with N but they weren't romantically involved yet. would have involved Pining™ and going to random places and doing random stuff and syl being really confused (and somewhat concerned) about What The Hell N's Deal Is. i don't remember why i decided against this, it probably would have been a more interesting blog. maybe i just figured it would be easier to write sylvan when all the interesting stuff already happened to him, ha.
that's everything i can think of right now. so. post over
