Halloween non sam ace/asexual :D

(This uses my alt non sam ace flag, here.)

I feel like the style is a bit different from my other Halloween drawings, not sure if I like it. I think the ghost fishies look pretty cute though, and the moon is cool too (I free hand drew it this time, instead of using reference, so it looks pretty decent considering that).

Non-SAM culture is me going "yeah I'm totally aroace" and then as time has gone by, it's like the aro part has consumed everything, haha. I've always felt more connected to it. I realized the ace label wasn't for me, but it was helpful for the time I used it. But being greyro feels like it matters more.

Even though I could technically still call myself ace, I grew really tired of people only focusing on the ace part. I sort of think I don't have a sexuality. Like it doesn't apply to me. It's sort of a non-issue.

And the fact that I do experience some form of attraction, but I have no idea what that even is. Bi-something.

I find the non-SAM label more freeing. It felt like aroace was too constricting after a while.

Demirose + Psychiamoric

Demirose is a term used to describe those who don’t experience sexual and romantic attraction until a deep emotional bond with someone is formed first. In short, people who are both demisexual and demiromantic. The term is a portmanteau of demisexual and demiromantic, with the prefix demi- meaning half.

Color Meanings-

Black Triangle: Asexuality and Aromanticism

White Stripe: Emotional bonds

Dark-Light Purple Stripes: Development of sexual attraction

Dark-Light Green Stripes: Development of romantic attraction

Rose: For the puns

Psychiamoric is a term used to describe or refer to the attractions of those who are demisexual, demiromantic, or both (demirose). The prefix psychi- comes from the Greek goddess of the soul Psyche, and amor from the Latin word for love. Color Meanings-

Purple Stripes: Demisexuality + Demiromanticism

White Stripe: Emotional bonds, community

Butterfly: Psyche can also mean butterfly in Greek, and Psyche is sometimes drawn with butterfly wings. Butterflies can also represent transformation- in this case, the transformation from no attraction to attraction.

Note: I chose Psyche due to the myth of her and Eros implying that she didn’t fall in love with anyone until him, and they spent time getting to know each other. A source for this is the second section of this article. Also, Psyche was stated to be even more beautiful than the goddess of beauty and was the goddess of the soul- which can be interpreted as the soul being more beautiful than the outside appearance. To me, this fits being demi, as no primary attraction (appearance) is experienced, but we do experience secondary attraction (developing over time).

Dissocia-

When dissociation and a lack of self impact your attraction and ability to experience it fully, and/or lack of presence in your body making it harder to identify if you are experiencing attraction or to identify what kind.

When your dissociation makes you so separate from your experiences you cannot understand relations to others.

ID: a rectangular flag with 6 equally-sized horizontal stripes and desaturated colors in this order, green to grey: green, light grey, blue, light grey, purple, light grey. All the greys are the same color, and the muted colors are all a little bit darker. /END ID.

Dissociattractional flag by @arokill, which includes stripes for aro, aplatonic, and ace, due to the difficulty perceiving a difference in them.

MEANING:

Green Stripe - to represent aromanticism and the impact on romantic attraction Grey Stripe - the haze of dissociation (the impact to make it more difficult to experience things fully) Blue Stripe - to represent aplatonicism and the impact on platonic attraction Grey Stripe - the haze of dissociation (the impact on self awareness and identity) Purple Stripe - to represent asexuality and the impact on sexual attraction Grey Stripe - the haze of dissociation (the impact on your awareness of differences of your attraction, relations, or things around you)

All colors are desaturated to emphasize dissociation and the feelings of being out of it/not fully experiencing everything.

ID: a rectangular flag with alternating thin/thick stripe, all thin stripes are dark grey, thick stripes are these colors, in order: green, light grey, blue, light grey, purple, light grey. All the light greys are the same color, and the colors are all desaturated and a little bit darker. /END ID.

The dark grey stripes are for heavy dissociation, light grey for light dissociation, and the other colors retain their meanings.

A shout out to non-split attraction model (SAM) aromantics like myself on this Aromantic Day!

It can be hard when some people think of SAM as the only experience or don't understand the concept of non-split, but we are here and we understand ourselves. I love you all.

Very glad that I figured this concept out for myself as all the sexuality labels made no connection to me, I wasn't straight, wasn’t bi, wasn’t gay, I couldn't get a read on who I was sexually attracted to, but ace felt so wrong. Turns out aromantic was the whole package of my experiences, with no sexuality label!

I hope everyone else has had joy in this label should they resonate with it! And I hope that if any aromantics are lost for their sexuality, I hope they find what they are looking for, SAM or not!

These are included in the various a-spec flag sets I posted, but I also thought they should have their own post (to help explain it a bit).

Non-SAM (non split attraction model) is a broad term. Some examples would be:

Only identifying as either analterous/aplatonic/asensual/anaesthetic/aqueerplatonic.

Experiencing RoSe (romantic+sexual attraction) as one thing.

Experiencing all attractions as one thing.

Opting out of Rose.

Opting out of all a-spec and allo-spec orientations except either analterous/aplatonic/asensual/anaesthetic/aqueerplatonic.

Feeling as though their analterous/aplatonic/asensual/anaesthetic/aqueerplatonic identity is their most important identity.

And others too.

Whether you mean non-SAM to mean only RoSe or including tertiary attractions too, or why you identify as non-SAM, or how you experience attraction, etc., there's a lot of ways to be non-SAM.

I'm non-SAM ace myself, and I thought it would be nice to make some other non-SAM flags.

For the flags, there's two versions for each. They both use the purple/blue/turquoise/cream from this general non-SAM flag (by @arokill) to represent non-SAM. The first is based off of the five stripe non-SAM flags (like here and here), and the second is based off of my alt non-SAM flags (here).

The other colors are from the respective analterous/aplatonic/asensual/anaesthetic/aqueerplatonic flags. I used light blue for analterous. Yellow (first set), purple, blue, and green (second set), for aplatonic. Orange for asensual. Pink for anaesthetic. Yellow and pink (first set), and two shades of teal (second set), for aqueerplatonic.

I think these turned out quite nice. I really like the non-SAM label.

Tfw you realize you’re so predictable a winning bingo card was made about you in less than an hour and there was never a way for you to win the game because you ARE the game

Where’s that post where someone was saying Brennan was probably stressed out during the entirety of his scene in “Pencil’s Down” because he was ready for it to be an elaborate scheme targeting him specifically? Because I’m pretty sure that’s the same shirt he was wearing so there’s a non-zero chance those were filmed on the same day, which is why Brennan was probably already on-set/available on such short notice. And since the set is still intact, that means this was filmed immediately before his Pencils Down scene and it is absolutely reasonable to assume he was waiting for it to be another elaborate setup.
