very tired of people referring to aspec as arospec and acespec only. aspec includes other identities like aplspec, afamspec, asenspec, anaspec, and more: they're all included under aspec. stop defining aspec as "aro and ace only" when there's more than just asexuality and aromanticism under the umbrella; of course, aces and aros are a part of aspec identities, but they aren't the only ones.

Yes, I know about the stereotype of nerds being disinterested in relationships, and how not every aspec fits that stereotype, as well as the nerds who are very interested in relationships. If you don’t fit the stereotype, you’re still amazing and awesome.

Made a little comic for Valentine’s Day and how fricking tired I am of hearing nothing but love songs on the radio all day. Sorry the detail isn’t as much as usual, I just thought of it during school and wanted to post it as soon as I could.

Pride flags are (in order): (If any of these definitions are wrong/badly explained, please tell me, I’ll try to correct it as soon as possible)

Panel one: Aromantic- doesn’t experience romantic attraction; Asexual- doesn’t experience sexual attraction; Aplatonic- doesn’t experience platonic attraction; Agender- doesn’t have a gender

Panel two: Demiromantic- only experiences romantic atteaction after a strong emotional bond has been formed; Demisexual- only experiences sexual attraction after a strong emotional bond has been formed; Demiplatonic- only experiences platomic attraction after a strong emotional bond has been formed; Demigender- A gender in which someone is partially, but not fully, a given gender (often further split into demigirl, demiboy, etc.)

Panel three: Queerplatonic- a relationship blurs the lines between platonic and romantic, and prioritizes a platonic partnership over a romantic one; Cupiosexual/romantic (I looked it up and it seems like it’s the same flag for both, feel free to correct me in the notes)- does not experience sexual/romantic attraction, but desires a sexual/romantic relationship; Fraysexual/romantic (same deal as the cupio flag)- only experiences sexual/romantic attraction to those they don’t have a strong connection with, attraction will often decrease or disappear as they get to know the person better; Asensual- Does not experience sensual attraction

Panel four: Greyromantic- Relates to aromanticism, but feels that there are some parts of their experience that aren’t fully described by the word aromantic; Greysexual- Relates to asexuality, but feels that there are some parts of their experience that aren’t fully described by the word asexual; Greyplatonic-Relates to aplatonicism, but feels that there are some parts of their experience that aren’t fully described by the word aplatonic; Greygender- Gender identity is partially outside the binary, and has a strong ambivilance about their gender identity or expression

well, there is a lot of flags, depending on their meaning and/or preferences of the person who identifies with the identity of the flag

but, these are some of the most know ones:

aromantic (feels little to no romantic atraction)

asexual (feels little to no sexual attraction)

the most know aroace flag (i think the name it's the sunset flag) (it can be used for both spectum to 0% atraction i lack a better word for it, but usually people who use a micro label prefer to use the specific flag for that micro level)

the next two are alternatives for the aroace flag, people often use this because the colors usually have meanings (i am not an expert about the topic, i'd have to do reserch) and the alternatives flags, even though are meant for the same identity, can have diferent colours with different meaning. a lot of people use the flag they like the colours better (for example, dont like orange, just use an alternative flag)

the next flag is for oriented aroace, which means an aspec person which feels some type of atracttion (sexual, romantic, aesthetic, sensual, etc) so they are aspec and at the same time another orientation (like lesbian, bi, gay, hetero, pan, etc)

[looking for the pictures, i found this one who also includes the flags of some microlabels, but im not going to delete what i previously wrote]

the aspec flag in general

asensual: someone who feels little to no sensual atracttion

aplatonic: someone who feels little to no platonic atracttion

there are microlabels in that image like demi (needs a previous connection to feel the attraction), gray (little/rare atraction), and more

[there are more flags for all the microlabels (and more microlabels that arent mentioned) out there, but they are a lot so im not going to include them]

there are also 'cursed flags', which are any flags but what an image or text on them, usually a fictional character or joke. they are made with humoristic purposes

also to clarify, you can use whatever flag you like/feel more comfortable. if you are aspec and feel some atraction, it doesnt mean you cant use 'original' ones (the three first one) (i dont know if original is the right word)

but i repeat, USE THE FLAG YOU LIKE. wheter it is because you like the colors more or because of the meanings (with i didnt put because im not familiar with them, but there is a lot information out there), the flag you use is for you

I’ve wanted to make this post for a while, but I’m worried I’m going to offend some people. But I’m going to make it anyway. I want to have an honest discussion about “derailing” posts and what counts as derailing.

There is a big taboo around “derailing” posts in the aspec community, whether a post explicitly states to not derail it or you’re just supposed to assume. And I guess I understand it. The aspec community has a long history of being targeted by exclusionists, who would turn positivity posts into an opportunity for discourse. There’s also the issue of posts from one group under the aspec umbrella being tagged as another, which is particularly prevalent with aroallo posts. I understand why people don’t want things derailed.

However, I constantly see posts that I as a fellow aspec can relate to, but are not intended to be directed at me. Yes, I know, there are parts of the aro and ace experiences that atertiaries cannot relate to. But there are also aspects of the aro experience aces cannot relate to and aspects of the ace experience that aros cannot relate to. The point is that there are many posts intended to be directed at only aros and aces that are relatable to the full anattractional spectrum. I’m not sure if I’m even allowed to point that out or add my opinion without that being considered derailing. I somewhat think that it is another way to forget us.

I want to hear everyone’s opinions on this and have an open discussion. I want to hear from aros, aces, and other atertiaries. What counts as “derailing”? Is derailing always wrong?
