Sweet Nothings -- OPLA!Sanji x Reader
I've only seen the Live Action, so this is new for me. I started reading the manga a few hours ago and the anime is bookmarked on my Crunchyroll. But for now, I'm working with what I've got. So this is exclusively the Live Action. Best friends to Lovers Trope cause I wanted to. I'm not entirely happy with how this turned out so I might redo it at some point.
Also, shoutout to @avidanadvocacy who managed to like and reblog this within, like, five seconds of me posting it. They're probably the only reason I sat down and wrote this lol
Warnings: vague mentions of canon typical violence, reader is very cautious of showing the fact they're rather soft (not sure if that counts as a warning or makes sense, I'm tired lol)
No use of y/n, or those weird descriptor things, reader is gender neutral. Reader is however you imagine them
Word Count: 2.5k

I spy with my little tired eye Tiny as a firefly A pebble that we picked up last July Down deep inside your pocket We almost forgot it Does it ever miss Wicklow sometimes?
You had known Sanji since you were young. You had both been around twelve at the time Zeff took you in, after you had been abandoned rather unceremoniously at the Baratie. You couldn’t remember much about the pirates who had left you behind, not that it mattered to you. You were thankful, even after all the years since, that Zeff had taken you in. You weren’t a skilled cook, but you were diligent and hard working, so you worked as a head waiter.
Having grown up around Sanji, you were used to his…antics. He was a flirt to each and every female customer, but whenever you asked, he would wave you off and laugh about it being how he simply ‘gets the customers to keep coming back.’ And you’d roll your eyes and continue on with your business. He had been your best friend for years. When you had initially met, you had simply clicked and that was that. Nothing to it.
He would make you smile on your worst days and you’d do the same for him. Because that’s what friends do. Right?
The first moment you had doubted that his friendship was just that was the day he lent you his coat.
You had just stopped in the kitchen to drop off orders and take a quick breather. The lunch rush at the Baratie was merciless on a good day.
The winds had shifted earlier in the day and despite the hustle and bustle of the restaurant, a chill passed through you and you shivered.
Within moments, a navy blue suit jacket had been deposited around your shoulders.
You turned to see Sanji grinning at you.
“Wouldn’t do for our favorite waiter to catch cold now, would it?” He said before walking deeper into the kitchen.
You smiled at his retreating form, then slipped your arms into the coat properly and rolled the sleeves so that you’d be able to work.
A bit of time had passed since then, and you stopped to survey the tables around the restaurant, putting your hands into the pockets of Sanji’s jacket.
Your fingers brushed against something and you pulled it out in confusion.
A pebble sat in the palm of your hand. Just as blue as the day you had initially found it two years back.
Zeff had sent you both for supplies and you had spotted it. It was a stunning cerulean blue and you had immediately thought of your best friend. He had told you of the All Blue, and ever since that moment you had associated the color with him. Not every shade of blue, of course, but only the ones that were the most beautiful. One’s that caught the eye and seemed to shimmer.
You had almost forgotten the tiny pebble. But this jacket…Sanji’s favorite. There would be no way he’d be unaware of it being in the pocket.
You put the stone back. Your mind racing.
They said the end is coming Everyone's up to something I find myself running home to your sweet nothings Outside, they're push and shoving You're in the kitchen humming All that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing
The one thing you didn’t like about the Baratie was the fighting. You knew it was inevitable, especially with pirates. You were old enough now to look past it. It was a fact of life. Sometimes it was genuine fighting, other times customers simply got into little spats that were easier to ignore.
You sighed and wandered into the kitchen. Zeff had stepped out to smooth the wrinkles on whatever argument had broken out. To be entirely honest, the dinner shift had taken it out of you and you were exhausted.
You plopped down in a chair off to the side with another heavy sigh and shut your eyes.
The clink of dishware being set before you and a chair scraping the ground next to you brought you to open your eyes again.
A rice dish sat in front of you, a glass of water next to it. Sanji’s eyes watched you carefully.
“What is it?” You knew the Baratie menu inside and out, and this was definitely not on it.
A signature smile graced his face. “Seafood risotto. Nothing terribly fancy, just terribly good.”
“Does Zeff know about this?” You asked, taking a bite. It was divine.
Blue eyes twinkled. “What the old man doesn’t know won’t hurt him.” Sanji paused, smile fading and voice growing soft. “You seem tired, sweetheart.”
You tried to squash the flutter in your chest. It had been months since you found the pebble in Sanji’s coat, and you had found out that he always carried it. Your heart had run away with that information. And while the blond had called you by the same pet name for years, it felt different now that your affections towards your best friend had shifted. You kept the information to yourself, afraid of change.
So instead you shrugged, continuing to eat. “I guess I’m a little tired? The dining room has kept me on my toes all day and I didn’t sleep very easy last night.”
Sanji’s brows furrow in concern at that. “Well, make sure you finish eating. And try and get some better sleep tonight. For me, yeah?”
You swallowed. He always looked at you so sweetly. Always treated you so differently than the girls he flirted with for good tips. Now he was giving you that small smile, blond hair in his face as always, but the softness in his eyes was unmistakable.
You nodded, “Of course, Sanji.”
Your heart was doing somersaults.
On the way home I wrote a poem You say, "What a mind" This happens all the time
Monkey D Luffy came barrelling into both your lives like a cannonball. One moment life was as it had been for years, the next finds both you and Sanji preparing to leave the Baratie and join the crew of the Going Merry
You weren’t sure why Luffy had insisted you come too. When you had asked him, he had only shrugged with a smile, saying that it had felt like the right thing to do.
So, you made yourself useful where you could. Whether it be helping Sanji, or any of the other Straw Hats.
Luffy had soon after discovered that you enjoyed writing.
It was the day before everything went wrong.
You and Sanji had left the Baratie that afternoon, Zorro was on the road to recovery from his battle against Dracule Mihawk, and everything seemed fine .
A conversation of dreams had even arisen over a meal, and you had shyly mentioned how you enjoyed writing. Not that there was time for it while waiting tables.
Sanji was surprised and intrigued to find a new side of you. You had never mentioned it to him. It was just a silly little hobby in your eyes and, in the life you led, you had always kept those simple things to yourself. Not even sharing them with your best friend.
Luffy, however, had been delighted and immediately asked if you would document the voyage.
Granted, his wording had been more along the lines of “write down our adventures”, but same thing.
Later that night, Sanji had found you on the deck, a new journal in your hand.
“A writer, eh?” He had that soft voice again.
You nodded, refusing to look at him properly. “I want to be a famous poet someday.” You whispered, inwardly afraid of making such an admission.
The years on the Baratie had led you to shove all the soft spoken emotions deep down, gentleness was not a trait most pirates were fond of. But your new captain was the exact opposite, his kindness earning your trust instantly. You knew without a shadow of a doubt that you had found a new and true friend in Luffy.
But you’d never replace Sanji.
Your heart seemed to clench and you opened your mouth to apologize for keeping it from him, but when you looked at him, your breath caught and your voice failed you.
The chef was always sweet on you, but he looked at you in that moment as if you had hung the stars.
“What a mind.” He said quietly, as if he was simply in awe of you.
Unbeknownst to you, Sanji had been looking at you like that for years. There was a reason he called you sweetheart, why you were always the first to try his new creations, why he treated you so differently than all the other girls. A reason why he was so sweet on you.
Everyone could see it. Zorro knew. Nami knew. Usopp knew. Luffy knew. The young captain had made sure to bring you both from the Baratie. If it meant he had to separate the two of you, then Luffy would have never had Sanji come aboard as Chef.
Even Zeff knew. Which was why he had let you both go.
However, you couldn’t see it.
But in that moment, with Sanji looking at you, you were ready to throw it all away. Willing to possibly ruin years of friendship if it just meant you could kiss him once.
'Cause they said the end is coming Everyone's up to something I find myself running home to your sweet nothings Outside, they're push and shoving You're in the kitchen humming All that you ever wanted from me was nothing
Nami’s betrayal had shocked you all to the core. You had only known her for such a short time, but it had still hurt.
Sanji was convinced that her alliance with Arlong wasn’t something she had chosen. Zorro seemed to only see it in black and white, positive that she had made her choice.
Luffy simply wanted to hear the truth from Nami herself. And only then would he believe it.
So the Going Merry was currently sailing for the Conomi Islands just to hear that truth.
It was once again late at night, but sleep would not come. The day’s events play over and over in your mind, keeping you wide awake.
So you headed quietly to the kitchen only to find the light on and an equally awake Sanji sitting quietly with a cup of tea, humming to himself.
You froze. You had almost kissed him the night before, fear holding you back.
But he had already seen you.
“Can’t sleep either, can you, sweetheart?”
You gave up on resisting, going to sit beside him.
Without speaking, he poured you a cup of tea, setting it before you.
“Chamomile. Should help.” Was all he said.
The day had left you both content with each other’s silence as you sat next to each other, shoulders brushing lightly. Sanji eventually went back to humming.
You couldn’t tell if it was the gentle movement of the ship as it sailed, the tea, or even Sanji himself humming softly next to you, but eventually your eyes shut.
Vaguely, you were aware of being carried and eventually set down gently in your hammock.
Something brushed your forehead and you thought you heard Sanji’s voice before you drifted fully into sleep. You felt almost certain it was a kiss, but you were too deep in the fog of sleep to deem that true. It had most likely been your imagination.
“Sweet dreams, sweetheart.”
Industry disruptors and soul deconstructors And smooth-talking hucksters out glad-handing each other And the voices that implore, "You should be doing more" To you, I can admit that I'm just too soft for all of it
The fight against Arlong and his pirates had once again changed everything overnight. You wouldn’t lie, it was terrifying. But you had prevailed. The Straw Hats won in the end. Nami and her village were safe.
It had brought so many things to light for you. As soon as you had all reboarded the Going Merry, you dutifully recorded the events of the day, from the villagers of Coco Village to the fight at Arlong Park, you made your way to the kitchen, needing solace from your best friend.
Your emotions had been bottled the whole day. Yes, fighting was inevitable. You were a pirate, it was simply a fact of life. But you still didn’t like it.
“Sanji?” You called.
The kitchen was empty to your surprise, so you made your way to the deck, finding him by the tangerine trees.
He had the pebble in his hand as you walked up and your heart began to race. He slipped it back into his pocket as he noticed you and you pretended not to see.
Instead you wrapped your arms around his middle, and Sanji instantly returned your hug, holding you close.
“What’s wrong, sweetheart?”
“I don’t know. I think…” you trailed off.
Sanji released you from the hug, but still kept you within his arms. “You know you can tell me anything, right?”
You nodded. “I think…I’m too soft for all this sometimes.” You admitted slowly. “I mean, I can do it, don’t get me wrong. But, Sanji, today was terrifying. And the Grand Line is supposed to be worse.”
That twinkle and smile were back again. “You’re not too soft, sweetheart. You’re perfect. You were strong today, and I know you don’t like fighting. But you’re brave, and you protect those you care about. Being soft doesn’t make you weak.”
“But what if it does?” Your voice dropped to a whisper. “Because–”
You stopped, confessions halting on your lips.
“Because what, sweetheart? Stop hiding yourself, it’s just me.”
“That’s exactly why I’m hiding.”
He frowned in confusion, silently imploring you to continue.
“Because you make me feel soft. I kept my writing to myself because somehow it always ended up being about you. Whether it be the way you look at me or even the fact you kept that pebble.”
His eyebrows shot up in surprise. Apparently he had genuinely thought you hadn’t noticed.
“We’re supposed to be pirates, Sanji. There’s no softness allowed in this profession.”
He gently pulled you a little closer, warm breath now able to be felt on your face as he spoke, “I think we’ve already proven we’re a different sort of pirate than what’s expected, sweetheart.”
You were drowning in an ocean of greyish blue. The little nickname. That tiny sweet nothing. It wore down any and all of the final doubts and reserves in your mind and the two of you melted into each other.
He held you tightly, arms around you as both your hands grabbed tightly to his shirt, the both of you lost in a kiss that seemed like forever.
Eventually it ended, and he rested his forehead gently against yours.
“I’m in love with you, sweetheart.” He said gently. “How’s that for being soft, hmm?”
A small smile formed upon your face. The both of you had been oblivious to the other, yes. But at the same time, all of Sanji’s little sweet nothings over the years–both in words and actions–played quickly through your head. The past week had pulled everything straight to the surface.
“I love you, too.”
All that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothings.
Not entirely happy with this but it's late. Let me know what you think. I'm still new to this fandom, and there's a lot of content that I've yet to learn about. But I'll get there.

I'll likely make a more in depth post once I've read through all the translated light novels but
Hello Apothecary Diaries fans I am in volume 8 and would like to reassure you about the choking scene from volume 5
Spoilers under the cut!
Okay so there's a scene at the end of volume 5 (the manga is not there yet) that many have interpreted as sexual assault. For the sake of those sensitive to such topics, I'm going to give a light on spoilers version of the scene and then an in depth analysis. Personally, I do not view the scene as sexual assault, but it is very forceful and carries A LOT of very sad subtext. You'll understand what I'm getting at in the more depth part.
So, the general gist of the choking scene.
MaoMao and Jinshi are in the garden to escape a banquet. They talk for a bit about a very scary incident that occurred that day (thankfully nobody was killed) and share casual conversation. Then Jinshi brings up that they're at this banquet to find him a wife. I won't spoil the specifics, but fyi MaoMao has been wearing an accessory this whole time that loudly announces (to everyone except herself, of course) that She's The Favorite™. Despite how obvious Jinshi has been with his intentions, including holding her hand and combing his other fingers through her hair while mentioning the whole wife thing, MaoMao evades him while thinking "I'm not capable of love". So, she tries to dodge him by offering up another woman. This is what causes Jinshi to snap and choke her, as well as hold one of her arms behind her back to stop her from fighting back.
He doesn't kill her. As far as damage to her throat, the text doesn't indicate any. He then leans his weight on her. MaoMao then remembers how she was taught sex techniques against her will be the Verdigris House women & decides to use those techniques against Jinshi. She then promptly leaves and Jinshi feels like the most pathetic man in world.
The two don't interact beyond official matters until towards the end of volume 6. Jinshi brings more rare medicine in lieu of an apology. The two talk around the wife situation again and MaoMao gets tickled. It isn't until volume 7 that they have an actual conversation breakthrough.
That's my light on spoilers version of the events. Now I'll give a more in depth version, that's honestly a good chunk of my own meta-analysis around the events of volume 5.
Honestly, volume 5 is full of really interesting scenes regarding Jinshi and MaoMao. This is the first volume after Jinshi has been forced back into Imperial Brother status, yet the first thing I noticed that actually changed between JinMao is how MaoMao takes initiative with him now. As soon as she learns an insect plague might be on the horizon, she dives into unprompted research and delivers her findings to Jinshi. She's no longer working at the palace or for Jinshi, but she still takes on the extra burden. She also takes initiative to get Jinshi some extra sleep (though she misinterprets his desire to not sleep alone). And later in the novel, when they're in the paper makers' village, MaoMao acts so cute when reapplying Jinshi's burn scar makeup. I'll let screenshots talk for me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like man. She's so cute. And I wonder, if these two didn't have to deal with social standing and imperial drama, would we get way more of them just being cute and companionable? If MaoMao wasn't an unwitting member of the Who Wants To Be An Imperial Princess race, would her feelings for Jinshi have grown without so much pushing and urgency on his end?
But I digress. I think a lot of volume 5, especially once they reach their travel destination, is MaoMao trying her best to keep her blinders on even though she is in the thick of imperial drama. She's especially desperate with regards to the blazingly obvious fact that a certain someone of very high status is in love with her. I think the end of chapter 6 does a very good job of driving home one of the major reasons why MaoMao is reluctant to trust Jinshi's feelings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To add fuel onto this unfortunate fire is that MaoMao, as an unmarried courtesan's daughter, was attacked as an infant by her mother, sought after by fucking Lakan of all people, ignored while crying as a baby, and forcibly taught sex (to the point of tears!). She also had to cover for Luomen's own eccentricities, specifically ensuring they had enough money to feed themselves. MaoMao, to put it shortly, has been taught not to believe she can attain anything beyond her very simple life of being a lowly apothecary.
And then here's Jinshi who, as a prince, has been forced to grow up fast & have all his favorite things taken away from him. I think MaoMao is the first time he ever wanted a person. He is, for lack of a better word, obsessed with her. I think a lot of his pushiness & tendency to be clingy with her is him desperately trying to make sure he doesn't lose her. If he makes her his wife, then, well, she can't leave.
And I think the choking scene is him finally at his breaking point. At this point, he has lavished her with gifts, been very forward sexually with her twice, and given her a new hairpin that is essentially this story's version of a promise ring. It's MaoMao's repression/reluctance vs. Jinshi's desperation and so far she's winning.
But then she pushes him past his breaking point and he takes physical action against her. MaoMao responds by performing an unspecified sexual act on him.
So why don't I personally take this scene as sexual assault?
Mainly because I think the people actually guilty of sexual assault her are the Verdigris House women who forced MaoMao to learn sex.
As far as I understand it, whether MaoMao can actually say no to Jinshi is left up to interpretation. If we're talking on social status terms, she can't say no. But if you look at Jinshi's overall treatment of her, both before and after this scene, I very much think MaoMao can say no and instead chooses to defuse the situation.
Because what isn't for interpretation, however, is MaoMao's abysmal impression of what love and sex can actually be for her. So she defuses a situation by using sex, something she herself doesn't like, and doesn't allow Jinshi to reciprocate, which leaves him feeling terrible, too.
I want to be clear. I do think Jinshi is in the wrong for physically attacking MaoMao. But the sexual portion of the scene, at least to me, falls squarely on the shoulders of MaoMao's fucked up backstory.
Anyway, I think I've typed for long enough. I am using the official translations of the light novel for this analysis, so if any fans have access to alternate translations or WN only knowledge that throw my analysis in the trash bin, please let me know (fyi puedo leer el español).

omg could i request for ‘how you first met + when does he start liking you’ kind of hcs with nagumo and seba, but its set in jcc so the reader is also a student there?
thank you for the sakamoto days crumbs btw 🫶😭
ah i love this so much! thank you for requesting 🫶
and of course! i love this manga so much and need more people to read it
— how you met + when he started liking you
sakamoto days charas (nagumo & seba) x gn!reader
Tumblr media
Nagumo -
Tumblr media
• nagumo first met you at the jcc through rion who was close friends with you and decided to introduce you to him
• from that moment on nagumo knew he wanted to be with you just off first glance, then you spoke and he calls it love at first sight
• at first nagumo was just curious about you, how you were able to fight so excellently, he wanted to know everything about you, so he asked rion a few times before she told him to just suck it up and ask you all the questions
• nagumo started liking you after he saw you take down a guy twice your size with ease, he knew from that point on that he wanted you to be his, and he wouldn't stop for nothing
• he started with subtle flirting, occasionally touching your shoulder or waist to move you aside or for him to get past, a lot of compliments that rion and sakamoto wanted to throw up over, and him being genuine with you
• nagumo is incredibly obvious that he has feelings for you, if you notice, then he'll ask you out on the spot, if you don't, he'll play the game a little longer
• if you realize quickly that he has feelings for you, confronting him will not work, he won't admit it cause he wants the confession to be perfect, so he'll make up some lie on the spot which leaves you confused
• though, rion likely told you first after getting annoyed that you were all nagumo talked about, telling you to please tell him if you have feelings too or not cause she can't stand him ranting about you 24/7
• so when you confront him for a second time, nagumo pouts knowing rion told you and confesses his feelings, lowkey annoyed that it was ruined but still happy nonetheless when you say you like him as well
• he hugged you so tightly when you said you liked him back, saying that even though the confession was ruined he'll make sure the first date is one you'll remember forever
Tumblr media
Seba Natsuki -
Tumblr media
• natsuki doesn't have a whole lot of friends, but when he accidentally walked into you because he wasn't paying attention and you immediately strike up a conversation with him, he starts to think maybe having a friend wouldn't be so bad
• so he agreed to be your friend and you two were from then on always around each other as friends, roaming the halls together and skipping classes
• natsuki didn't talk a whole lot to you, but he was glad he had somebody around to cure him of his boredom at the jcc
• natsuki started to like you when he was ranting about how his invisibility worked before realizing he was talking too much, going quiet when you told him, "it's okay, i like hearing you talk"
• he had never liked anyone before you, so he was unfortunately clueless on how to work the situation, he couldn't tell if you had feelings for him as well, and he didn't want to ruin the one and only friendship he had, so he kept quiet about it for a while
• but it was obvious with the lingering gazes he sent towards you, the hint of jealousy he showed when other guys flirted with you in front of him, and the protectiveness that grew the more he knew be liked you and didn't want you to get hurt
• if you notice these things, you'll have to confront him on it cause he won't admit it himself he would rather die than do that, if you don't notice he might go insane and force himself to tell you his feelings
• when he confesses his feelings to you, he looked up what were good ideas beforehand and resulted in him coming to you with a hand-written letter and a bouquet of flowers he remembered you liked, handing them to you and patiently letting you read the letter, worried that it would go wrong
• but when you smiled and told him you liked him too, he was dumbstruck, frozen in his spot as he tried to process what you said to him before a small smile formed on his face and he hugged you tightly, mumbling quietly how he's thankful you didn't hate him for liking you
• natsuki opened up to you a lot more after that, feeling comfortable with you unlike anyone else, and he was happy to be with you, he didn't think you liked him back, but he's very happy that you do

Maybe I'm insane BUT
Ok I caved and watched the final episode (I've only been reading the manga, got a lot of anime to catch up on but still) and, this:
Tumblr media
So, what is this?
There's two main possibilities, I think:
One, that it's just as it said: in a linear succession, two hours after we left off, something's gonna happen with Fukuchi's corpse (?) and kickstart another round to the whole mess.
Maybe someone else uses his body and amenogozen. He definitely doesn't look alive, I mean, look at his feet!! Those sure aren't feet. And his hand! And the horns! And the facial covering, like an undead creature!! Mystical shit all around. Maybe it's the Page, 'cause it's the night of the full moon, when everything was supposed to come to fruition. Maybe it does whether the Page has to pick this man up and puppet through it.
But also, the insane other possibility:
There was a moment during their fight in the ship when Atsushi and Akutagawa combined their abilities for a surprise attack, remember?
It ended like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first being the "timeline" where they killed Fukuchi right there, and the other version of events where they didn't.
In the first they were left to wonder...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And just like that, that "timeline" was undone, cancelled and rewritten by Amenogozen's interference. Timeline in quotes 'cause it was supposedly cancelled and didn't functionally divide the story into two routes. It just set things back to the timeline we follow afterward, with Akutagawa being killed-vampirized and Atsushi escaping alone.
I just find it really strange that, here,
Tumblr media
Akutagawa refers to things as a "story".
Like... what does he mean? IS there another version of events gonna split from somewhere, somehow?
Maybe not. Probably not.
It's more likely that it's linear time, linear events, someone does something to his body and stuff, but... I dunno. Huh.
Guess we'll have to see what the manga drops next.

Manjiro Sano Headcannons
Tumblr media
⚠️ Disclaimer⚠️
This does not only contain cute headcannons. This also contains spicy contants. If you're not interested in that then stop reading once the 2nd warning pops up. This is also my own mind so I can't assure it's gonna add up but it's almost like another future that may exist or may not. So maybe some spoilers of the Tokyo Revengers manga will be here. If your not interested then stop reading by the 1st warning.
Clingy, very clingy
He often acts like a small child who you must take car of, more like a child you're babysitting.
You have to take care of him along with Draken.
Besides this he is still a very loving boyfriend
He always needs a kiss on the lips everytime he sees you because otherwise he will think you don't love him anymore.
He often goes to you place to bring food
✨ You guys eat lunch together ✨
You do often get annoyed of him because of how immature he is, but you still love him.
Tokyo Manji Y/N
He feels pressured to protect you a lot and you often have to remind him that you're not weak and one of the strongest in the gang.
You enjoy seeing your enemies underestimate Mikey because of how small he is, you love it because then you have sometime to tease him about afterwards.
Student Y/N
You often try to stay away from all the gang activity, but sometimes when you're on a date with him, he runs into people from another gang who know him and end up fighting him.
You always need to take care of his injuries and confront him about having another fight because he normally comes over after fighting to bring some food and eat.
Scenarios
Formation of a group (Childhood friend
Y/N)
You had been friends with Mikey for a very long time, practically almost since birth, you parents were close which caused you both to know each other for a while. You remember Mikey's enthusiastic face when talking about making the gang for the first time.
Y/N: A gang?
Mikey: Yes!
Y/N: Mikey, this is a stupid idea. Gangs are malicious! This will not work out, what if we get caught? Do you want people to fear you?
Mikey: Y/N, you've got it all wrong, I don't want people to fear us. What if we're different from all the other gangs? Instead of stealing and doing all the normal delinquent things, what if we fight to stop the other gangs?
Y/N: Is that even considered a gang?
Mikey: We basically will have everything you need to be considered a gang, power, fear, respect.
Y/N: Fine! But if we start being chased by police because of getting involved with illegal activity, turn yourself in.
Mikey: Okay, okay, I will.
Mikey eventually told the rest of the group of friends you guys had and they all agreed. Since then, the Tokyo Manji gang was created.
------------------------------------------------------------
Meeting Mikey for the first time (Highschool friends Y/N)
You knew Mikey. Not because you've met him or talked to him. But because of the amount of gossip there was about him.
1: "Have you heard of Mikey, he's the malicious leader of the Tokyo Manji gang?"
2: "Mikey recently got in a fight with a super bad gang, and he won. He must be a terrible person."
3: "Mikey is a super strong fighter, I bet he's worse then the other delinquents."
You heard of Mikey, but the only good thing you ever heard of him was how handsome he was. Nothing more.
From what you heard you didn't want to meet Mikey, what if you got yourself beat up? In plus you didn't want anything to do with delinquents, although it did partly bother you how kind Mitsuya was part of the same gang Mikey was. But besides it you didn't want anything to do with gangsters.
You were walking with you friend to your next class you were busy finding something on your phone and talking you didn't notice who was in front of you.
: Hey watch where your going!
You look up to see a tall man, blonde hair, tattoos. Oh no.
Y/N: I'm so sorry! I wasn't watching where I wa-
: Hey, It doesn't matter, don't worry about it.
You felt a hand touch your shoulder, you look over half expecting your friend but instead you saw someone else, much shorter then the other guy, long blonde hair and looked like a ordinary student, but no.
This was Mikey you were looking at, you knew from all the whispers you were hearing from the surrounding crowd of people. The other guy was Draken.
Mikey: Come'on Draken, there's no need to be mean, she was clearly distracted, you're normally nicer.
Draken bowed and apologized.
Draken: I know you were distracted, I apologize.
You were still in clear shock from who was in front of you, even after repeating you didn't want to interact with any delinquents.
Mikey: Hey, I hope you know your friend left a while ago you should catch up.
Y/N: Oh! Thank you...
Mikey let out a small soft smile and continued walking, as you ran to catch up you couldn't get him off your mind.
How could a delinquent be so kind?

⚠️Some spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.
Obviously as Mikey reaches adulthood he becomes a pretty depressed person, but you're one of the few good things he has.
He really enjoys holding hands with you because of the warmth your hands have.
It's up to you but I think he would want at least one kid.
You often have to go to sleep while hugging him, if you don't he will have a lot of things on his mind throughout the night.
Doing the deed:

He was definitely the one who got turned on first.
He probably had a wet dream and decided to fuck you right then and there.
I can honestly see him as a huge sadomasochistic so have fun.
He doesn't really care if you're in the mood or not, if he wants to do things to you, he's gonna do things to you.
He's a aggressive type of dom.
He will end up hurting you, scratching you, or being a bit to harsh, at the moment he won't care but he won't stop apologizing afterwards.
"You look so pretty wearing nothing while being under me... you arouse me so much.."

Some kind of Dungeon meshi Pissa au idea i got after watching it
(i haven't read the manga and don't know much about its world building, but i love it so much)
For species Phil is a half elf, but have more of a human side (like 25% elf, 75% human) and Missa is an elf
Phil and Missa are just friends at the start, but Missa has a crush on Phil and Phil really likes Missa's beauty, especially his hair
.
Phil and Missa originally met when Phil joined Missa's group to go through first few layers and go back, with Phil getting his part and leaving. But Phil showed his great attack magic skills and impressed teammates, especially Missa, the healer of the group, who didn't know any attack magic and always was bad in it
With time Phil and Missa became really close, always having each other's back in deadly situations (with Missa, he had to revive Phil A LOT, cause man can't stop but sacrificing himself for others). Missa learned few powerful attack magic from Phil so he could protect himself when he's isn't there. But those spells can't be used when there's other people around cause it takes really big radius and good for self defense (it WILL end up being a problem in the future)
Other members of the group are Quackity, Roier, Mariana and Spreen (Missa and Spreen are blood brothers)
They were never interested in beating the dungeon and getting all the goods from it, it was enough for them to loot dungeons and get all money from them. Not once they robbed dead bodies, waiting for their revival (or Missa was reviving the bodies and others tried to gaslight people to give them money for that). But with Phil on their side they started going deeper and risking more, that were really concerning Missa, but Phil was always saying that everything will be okay
But after a lot of risky moves, one eventually ended up hurting them. In one of the visits in the dungeon they went deeper than they ever had and met the dragon, that none of them had to face before.
To this point they had a lot of loot because really small amount of people even came that deep so all their bags were already full of goods. And Spreen and Roier insisted on going on that dragon and try to get even more treasure from its area, but after few minutes it already was clear that they couldn't win that fight. Spreen got killed by dragon's fire almost immediately and the group lost their most powerful fighter. Q, Roier and Mariana couldn't even hurt the dragon's thick skin and Phil did almost no damage with spells. Missa tried to get Spreen's body, but it was too close to the dragon so he couldn't do anything
Eventually everyone run, taking all the loot they got with them. Except for Phil, who was trying to stop Missa from getting Spreen's body and run away as well. Missa didn't listen and run to Spreen's corpse, trying to cast the reviving spell. But then he heard the roar behind his back and turned back only to see dragon's fangs right in front his face. Phil tried to cast the spell to distract the dragon, but it was too late, Missa was already in dragon's throat
For the whole day Phil tried to fight the dragon, but lost all his energy with no results. For few weeks he was doing short attacks on dragon, trying to kill it and, eventually, when he run out of all his food, he managed to get to its weak place and kill it. Few hours of unpleasant opening of the dragon and Phil found Missa. Or better to say, that was left of him. Because of active fighting with Phil dragon was loosing his energy too fast and had to digest its food faster which ended up on that there's nothing had left of Missa but his bones and hair
Phil never knew reviving magic as good as Missa, but he knew, that either he tries or he'll lose him. Nobody would risk going that deep to just help unknown elf's bones so he had to do that. So Phil tried, remembering all lessons on that Missa tried to teach him, from that the best result Phil ever got was a dog. But he had to do it, or he would never see Missa again
And he tried, multiple times. And eventually, full of rage, annoyance and fear of losing his best friend, he did it. But something was wrong. Missa's skin nor muscles didn't formed properly in few places and his bones were seen. His face had a look that only ghosts had. His skull fortunately was inside, but his skin became deadly grey in places where the cheekbones and eye sockets should be
Few hours had past for Miss to wake up. Phil hold him so close, like he would die again the second he pull him away. But Missa answered very cold, not hugging back and even trying to get out of the grip. When Phil asked him what's wrong he looked at him and asked "who are you?"
Phil was shocked by how Missa was looking at him and talking with him, like they've never met. He tried to tell him about all adventures they had together, Missa didn't seem to remember most of them but eventually he remembered Phil, maybe that were only few moments, that were lacking of context, but he remembered him
After few days of living on dragon's meat and Missa getting at least some of his power back they decided to go back. Missa easily agreed with Phil, going first to the entrance, not even looking back at the body of his brother. Phil didn't have enough strength nor space to get him so he silently followed Missa, leaving him there
On their way to the start of the dungeon they saw few groups, that after having one look at Missa tried to get away from them as fast as they could. In one of those groups, the magician of it screamed Phil to look around and attacked Missa with exorcist spell, from that Phil protected Missa, pulling away. Phil tried to explain that he's just an elf, not ghost or spirit, but that group just looked at Missa with the sign of fear and walked away
On one of the levels they found a bunch of bones that were left from killed and not revived people and Missa took one of the skulls and made himself a mask and pulled his cape's hood on to blend in better
That really concerned Phil because Missa usually loved to show off with his long hair that were important for his magic, but now, he would better want to hide every piece of his body
.
.
And this's all that i have that is at least a bit structured. I don't know if I'm gonna do anything with this, but there it is
(sorry if there's any logic or grammar errors, English isn't my first language)

Tumblr media
WAIT HOLD ON !! YOUR BRAIN IS HUGE !! there is nothing i love more than shojo tropes... scarlet ribbons would pair so well with them omg... i need to look up a list and start writing them for funsies <3
reader here is fem!
[Scarlet Ribbons Index]
Tumblr media
Giorno
Giorno is stuck in the middle of an intense moral dilemma. If it’s just the two of you, he’d rather not embarrass you by pointing it out; he’d use his Stand to pull down your skirt on the sly. He doesn’t want you to think he’s been ogling you and that’s how he happened to notice the malfunction. In the moment, he’s honestly so concerned about navigating this with decorum that he forgets to get flustered. It isn’t until later when he lays down for the night that the weight of the situation hits him. He feels like he’s disrespecting you somehow by letting his thoughts wander and does his best to think about anything else, takes a cold shower and everything. Almost loses it on the spot when your Stand gives him a knowing thumbs up the following day.
Bruno
Bruno is similar to Giorno where he prioritizes not wanting to make you uncomfortable in any way. While he’s trying to figure out what to do, he’ll be damned if he lets anyone wander into your general vicinity. He radiates the most ominous aura to keep others at bay. He fights every instinct in his body not to stare and admire the skin he isn’t used to seeing. Bruno already feels guilty for harboring romantic feelings for you in the first place, seeing as you’re his subordinate. This definitely isn’t helping. You’re over there smiling and making jokes while he’s struggling to remember how to breathe. Ends up shedding his blazer and throwing it over your shoulders, unable to take the stress any longer. The end of one crisis ends up inadvertently causing another. Bruno learns that day that he really likes how his clothes look on you.
Fugo
Fugo starts sputtering, trying (and failing) to string together a coherent sentence. He’s landed in this situation a few times ever since you started rooming together, summer being especially dangerous. He honestly has no idea what to do with himself when you’re walking around in a tank top and short shorts. Ends up getting mad at you and your stupidly attractive body, but is even more upset with himself for how easily it riles him up. It’s just a little bit of skin, why can’t he control himself? He’s above such boorish behavior! Probably. You’re none the wiser to his tribulations and assume he’s just glaring at you because you forgot to take the trash out or something. Will only inform you of the malfunction if you’re planning to go out — he’s not letting anyone else get treated to such a view. Fugo ends up having to pantomime the issue to you because his tongue simply will not form words. He cannot look you in the eyes for the next few days.
Mista
Mista is uncertain if this is a blessing from God or a trial from the devil. He’s being allowed to view a little glimpse of heaven, yet the cost is steep; what if you catch onto his staring and piece everything together? You’d probably write him off as a creep. Then his chances with you would be ruined forever unless you got hit with a memory-erasing Stand. It’s unusual for him to be perturbed by anything, he’s normally so relaxed. He would be if this was happening with literally anyone else but you. Since you’re involved, he needs to use like, tact or whatever. It’s rough. Eventually, he brings you close with an arm around your shoulders and whispers what the problem is. He’ll eagerly offer to help in any way you need it.
Narancia
He goes to cover his eyes with his hands... but then splays his fingers so he can still see. Only a peek. You’ll find out what’s going on the fastest with him. Narancia just can’t keep his thoughts inside his head when you’re involved. It’s difficult to tell who is the most embarrassed between the two of you. He’s apologizing, you’re apologizing, it’s developing into quite the scene. It doesn’t help that he swears to stab anyone who walks by to preserve your honor. You have to convince him to put the knife away while readjusting your traitorous outfit. After the heat of the moment has passed, he dejectedly asks if you hate him now. Please reassure him that he did nothing wrong or he’ll be sad for ages.
Abbacchio
Surprisingly has the most composed response somehow? He knows how the rest of his team gets when they’re around you, it’s like the caveman part of their brain takes over. Abbacchio likes to think he’s better than that. He’ll call you over and calmly explain what the issue is. He doesn’t beat around the bush but he’s not crude either. If you’re out and it’s something you can’t fix right away, he’ll offer to go buy you a hoodie or whatever. It might be a little mean of him to admit, but it’s kinda cute watching you get flustered over the whole ordeal. Though he’s nice enough not to tease you about it in the moment, expect him to bring it up every now and then whenever you start pestering him too much.

Reading Private Thoughts of a Moray and the line that went kinda like "in spite of the amount of overblots the school, applications skyrocketed this year" made me wonder just how much the public knows about the overblots? Most of them happen in the general "privacy" of their dorms, while I don't doubt some students are instantly online going "Dude! A guy in my class just overblotted! This is not a joke!!!1" I don't know how many people would actually pay attention to some teenager magicaming something like that. During Vil's overblot, I got the feeling Ambrosius/The RSA headmage suspects something happened but Crowley's been actively hiding the overblots.
The only one I think would be public knowledge outside of NRA is Leona since I'm pretty sure the Spelldrive/Mageshift tournament was televised?
Potential Book 7 spoilers, read at own risk!
So at the moment, I'm going with the impression that all the overblots except for Malleus's were private/hidden from the general public. I do believe that all of them happened with only NRC students around, I'm pretty sure that even Leona's took place before the tournament was televised and the stadium was empty. I say that Malleus's blot was the one that brought them all to light simple because his spell causes the entire island to fall into sleep, and the evidence of it (ex: thorns) surrounds the entire island as well. Combine this with Malleus being a high profile individual with distinct magic, it would be extremely difficult, at best, to hide his overblot.
The other overblots were able to be kept underwraps for the most part, with either the manga or novel (can't remember which) making a comment that Riddle's mom had to fight to keep him in school. But nothing about other parents complaining or bringing up concerns.
In PTM, I have it implied (at the moment, it will be mentioned more explicitly later i think) that the public became aware of the overblots, but that the fact that all the blotted students came out relatively unharmed, with a magicless student at the core, made potential students interested. I like to imagine that Crowley spun the story around to show off how "good" NRC's crisis team was in handling the blots without anyone dying, which I think is rare based on things said in the game, and thus get students interested.
I feel like I have more thoughts on this but can't really put them into words rn.

❥ A Dabi/ Touya Todoroki analysis ( also just some thoughts and telling the difference between fanon and canon). ❥
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Few songs that remind me of him:
This one is gonna have a little kick
• Touya todoroki is an interesting one. I think I've always liked his character but it didn't really start to intrigue me until late season 5( cs i haven't read the manga, yet).
• So just like all of the villains in the series he didn't wake up one day and choose mass murder. It was a process, chip by chip, little punches here (metaphorically) a couple kicks there until he starts to crack. The whole idea of being the n.o1 hero, being the best was instilled in him by his father. Parents play a huge huge role on the opinions and morals that kids develop. Then when he can't seem to reach that standard, the one to please his old man, it frustrates him, but he was like what 10?. He didn't give up, he was determined, he didn't care if he hurt himself in the process, once he achieved his goal it would be worth it ( which I'll talk about again).
• So when his father insist that he should stop, he should give up, it's just, so odd, to hear a parent telling their child to give up. Knowing Enji this wasn't just for his child's safety, it was probably also for his image, and because he saw it as a waste of time to train his soilder if he couldn't fight on the battle field. Touya knew this too.
• I've seen on many apps, or maybe even edits saying that if endeavor just went to see his son on seketo ( is that it? ) peak that day, it wouldn't have happened and he'd be 'normal', or somewhere close to. I beg to differ, it would have happened anyways, his sheer will to just outshine whoever his dear, precious father wanted outweighed his concern for his own well being. Especially with shoto being born and the new focus of attention. It was just a matter of time, fate, even.
• I remember TikTok in covid time💀, i was on of those people who had a hugee crush on dabi and tomura (mostly dabi), and i remember i used to say things like "I could fix him" "he's just misunderstood" "he secretly loves the league but just can't show it" no pookie bear that is definitely not the case😭. Fanon dabi is.....cool, but if i actually tried to interact with him he'd just, i don't kill me? I don't think he cares about anyone.
• Definitely not his siblings, he hates them too. He has an almost patronizing look on the women in his family, not doing anything to help or protect him ( not that he wanted it). He hated his little brother, shoto, for stealing his life, the life that he wanted. He hates his father for igniting a spark in him, then abandoning it, causing it to burn him up. He hates natsu, for not understanding and just accepting that they were both failures. His relationship with natsu, based on the little snips that we got give me very bittersweet, angsty vibes that i do want to look into. I digress. But no, Touya cares about no one, not even the league, they're just another tool to get him closer to his goal.
• He doesn't care about himself either as i mentioned earlier. Remember that spark i talked about?, it didn't burn him up completely, left a nasty big scar though. It's still burning, it's just fueled by something else now, a desire, a need to torture and kill Enji Todoroki. He isn't afraid of death, he was at it's doorstep and age 13, he's tasted it. He only puts in effort to preserve his life because his goal isn't complete. If he dies during or after, once he gets what he wants, and sees the look on their faces, he couldn't give a shit about what happens to him.
• Touya is not emotionally constipated. He's fucked up yeah but i believe that he's learnt how to feel his feelings, which are mostly anger, disgust and hatred. He appears nonchalant cause he channels those emotions into his revenge plan.
• I'd like to say he's a typical case of a psychopath, psychologically speaking. It's just that he has a motive to kill, most psychopaths do not (realize i said most) they just kill for the thrill. But other than that he checks off all the boxes. He's killed on multiple occasions, having very very little or non existent remorse for his actions, not very socially inclined, and if you think about it, is kinda selfish.
• Do not believe for one second that touya would see and remember the things he went through and be like "no, I'm above that". You're wrong, he would gladly mirror the behavior that he grew up around if it suited him. Top tier gaslighter and manipulater energy from this man.
• I'm not trying to demonize him, it's not his fault he doesn't care about anyone. It's just that he's never felt it, he doesn't actually know what it is, so he can't give it, you can't give something that you don't have. Some may argue that he had his siblings and rei, not saying they didn't love him but he didn't feel it, or want it, he wanted his father's love which he didn't receive in the slightest.
I didn't go over this so they're might be spelling errors

hi! I've been going through your blog and I love all your analyses, we may not agree on everything but it's definitely fun to read and eye-opening and I'm grateful to see someone looking into bsd with such depth and whipping out whole essays <3
On that note. There was a fan theory I read when dead apple came out (for the life of me I cannot remember the source, if anyone knows please tell me) that Atsushi's healing ability applies only to the injuries caused by other abilities, and he can't heal from non-ability things like guns etc. The op cited the scene in ch18 where Atsushi is caught in a shooting, and healed by Yosano in the next chapter.
This theory came about because 1) in dead apple, Shibusawa says that the tiger is "the antithesis to all abilities" and "the ability everyone desires." Then we never get the reason why Shibusawa was so obsessed with Atsushi. And 2) in ch7 after sskk's first encounter where Atsushi's leg is severed, Yosano takes a look and thinks "there's no scar, it's more of a restoration than a regeneration."
The gist of this is that I like the idea of Atsushi not being 100% invulnerable. And, if his is indeed the antithesis to all abilities then I'm excited to see what that entails; it implies that in the face of a time travel ability, he would be able to turn back time (if he knew how to use it ofc, cough Fukuchi fight cough). If the book is tied to an ability, Atsushi may be able to undo changes done by the book? he may also nullify Dazai's nullification? idk this opens many doors. Anyway! this is my fave bsd theory. I think, with how Akutagwa's ability sort of completes Atsushi's, and with the whole Rashomon being able to eat space, maybe with this development it will also "eat" a portion of the timeline, as in, undoing the events that occurred? is this making any sense? sorry for the rant I'd love to hear what u think, thanks <3
Hi!! Thank you for your kind words, they mean a lot!!! Could this be the post you were looking for? Funny enough, it was at the very top of my reblogs queue. Indeed, it's an extremely insightful theory!!!
So, there's a lot to unpack here. Ever since I've read that theory, I've found Yosano's thoughts regarding Atsushi's healing from chapter 7 extremely interesting. It's curious, because the nuance gets completely lost in the official English translation:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Raws → fantranslation → official Yen Press English translation). As you can see, the meaning gets totally lost in the last one. It almost makes me wonder if it was an intentional change due to the fact that the plot point won't be brought up in the manga in ten years (much like opting out of adapting the Steinbeck Guild uprising in the anime, since that plot point has been apparently discarded), but I hope it's not the case.
All taken into account, I don't think it's a stretch to say Atsushi's ability, due to his quality of denying other abilities, can only quickly regenerate as far as other abilities wounds go. When I was reading the manga I thought it was only plot conveniency and suspension of disbelief, but taking a closer look perhaps the pattern of wounds not caused by abilities taking longer to heal isn't concidential: it already happened with the wounds he suffered from in the orphanage, which ended up leaving scars (chapter 28), with the Guild's attack, which was of unknown nature but required Yosano's help to heal (chapter 18-19), with Twain's sniper attacks, which as the theory's Op point don't seem to have healed immediately (chapter 29). But in my opinion it's still too little instances to be able to affirm with certainty that it's not just coincidences dictated by plot convenience.
I do have a feeling there must be Something to Atsushi's ability. it can't just be tiger transformation and wounds regeneration. He's the protagonist, and leaving it at that, that's about the lamest ability of them all (sorry!! I love him still!!). I like the idea of Atsushi's ability being truly special, carrying qualities that have yet to be unfolded that make it different and somehow above the other abilities. I really think it'd be the most satisfying progression narrative wise, because so far Atsushi has gotten really little to claim for his protagonist role, being constantly overshadowed by Dazai; but he's the main character still, and it's like the story itself is waiting to reveal what makes him special. And there being something special to his ability has been, though subtly, consistently underlined: the extraordinary bounty on his head that nothing about what we know seems to explain, the fact that the Guild wanted to capture him specifically, the no further elaborated on fact that he's the key to finding the Book, Shibusawa's concern with him and, most importantly, the ability's quality of tearing through other abilities. Like, that feels very relevant; it's different from Dazai's nullification ability in the way it doesn't just temporarily nullify the other ability, but straight up denies it. I feel like in a manga that is so littered with meta commentery on literature, it'd be fitting to have an ability that denies other abilities' very existence, like moving a rubber through the page. It's certainly interesting to think about. And I like the concept of Atsushi's ability as an alternative to Dazai's nullification ability. Dazai has been feeling invulnerable so long, it would be gratifying to contemplate the existence of something that's outside of his sphere of influence, and potentially even more powerful and destructive than he is.
Again, there's already so many elements that make it impossible to ignore the uniqueness of Atsushi's ability; but even then, they're still so sparse and obscure it's really hard to take a guess on what it could really be about, or what is the reason why it's special. There's so much space for soeculations - a connection with the book, a singularity, a God-like ability just to name a few -, but in my opinion none of them have any concrete enough canon basis to leave space for theories. I think I'd rather limit myself to say it would make a lot of sense for it to be an ability superior to other abilities, since it's something that has the power to tear through abilities themselves, and I believe that such quality is also coherent with its link to the Book as another ability-originated, extremely powerful object. The ability's power to rewrite reality, if only to a smaller extent compared to the Book, may further hint to its connection to the Book / being originated from the Book / sharing origins with the Book. When the ability immediately helps Atsushi regenerate from ability induced wounds he is lowkey rewriting the story to portray a reality where Atsushi wasn't hurt, and when he tears abilities apart it is lowkey rewriting a story where the ability didn't exist. In that, I believe it wouldn't be too far-fetched to draw similarities with the way the Book works. This also made me realize that where it's confirmed that the Book's altered reality to the point of changing the ada's memories so they remembered committing the terrorism crimes, I'm pretty sure that we never got the confirmation the same happened to Atsushi. Then, what if the book can't have effect on Atsushi due to his ability, but only on the reality surrounding him.
So yeah. I'm curious to see how this will unwrap, although I have my doubts I'll still be around when it does (man, the manga is going to take another six months just to catch up with the last anime episode, so you know). I really really like the concept of Atsushi's ability developing in a way that will make it more functional in a rematch against Fukuchi. I've been advocating for a sskk vs. Fukuchi rematch for years at this point, and it seems like we will indeed be getting it; and sskk BETTER win it this time, it wouldn't make any narrative sense to be otherwise. But to do that they'll have to overcome their biggest disadvantage that is Shintou Amenogozen's time manipulation, so you know!! Looking forward to see a sskk that is now mature and experienced unveil new skills to their abilities.

If one of us gets hurt, we'll protect them. A gang that's all for one, one for all.
Mitsuya chuckles to himself, glancing at the photo propped to his vanity mirror, reminiscing. He checks his reflection, noticing dark circles under his eyes and the rare grey hair he manages to spot in the field of silver-lilac. Not bothering to pluck it, his focus switches back to the picture, six familiar faces staring back him, including his own. It was taken five years ago, but he remembers it like yesterday; just a couple of hoodlum kids riding their bikes, swearing their loyalty to each other. Two years later, one gets arrested and sent to juvenile detention, another is dead, a third is the one who caused it. They were fifteen; too young to deal with the consequences of this lifestyle, but too old to blame it on “kids being kids.” All the fighting, the turmoil, the violence…he never liked it. Only use your strength to protect; that is his personal motto. But does it matter when he’s the only one who follows it?
He sighs, smile lessening as he grabs his backpack from the floor, heading out of his bedroom and into the kitchen. Luna and Mana are at the dining table, scarfing down a bowl of sugary cereal. His mom is on the couch, sleeping with the remote teetering in her hand, TV displaying the morning news on the lowest volume. He ruffles his sisters’ heads before grabbing an apple from the counter, rinsing it at the sink.
“See you two later, I’ll be home before dinner,” he muffles, chewing his bite of apple, walking towards the door to slip into his shoes. “Make sure you wake mom up so she can take you to school. They wave happily at him, mouths too stuffed with mushy cornflakes to bid a proper goodbye.
Shibuya High School isn’t that far from their home; twenty minutes by walking, twenty-five by bus, because of all the stops. Regardless, Mitsuya rides his motorbike to school, not only because it’s the fastest mode of transportation, but also because it exerts his dominance as the highest-ranking member of Toman on-campus. Behind him is Peh-Yan, who followed him after middle school. Being the top delinquent gives him the power to do as he pleases without judgement or ridicule, which is why he’s often found after school, sewing in the home economics room, doing what he loves.
In middle school, he was president of the Sewing Club, where he was highly respected by its members, mostly girls. However, his high school doesn’t have one, and this hobby didn’t garner enough attention for him to start a club for it. So, for the past two and a half years, he sews in solitude, which he doesn’t mind. Sometimes, Peh-Yan joins him to read manga or a dirty magazine. Hakkai stops by when he’s not too busy doing tasks for Mikey or picking fights with opposing gangs. Occasionally, Takemichi and Hina would visit from their school to say hello. Other than that, Mitsuya is alone.
Until today.
~~~
You never thought in your entire eighteen years of living that you would intentionally approach a member of the Tokyo Manji Gang, of any gang for that matter. But here you are, sidling against the wall beside the door frame of the home economics room, gathering the courage to talk to Takashi Mitsuya.
He is well-known on campus, and not in the way you’d expect. Even though he is technically a delinquent, many of your peers like him. He often walks around with a lazy smile on his face, respecting others, keeping to himself for the most part. As a first-year, there was an incident where two upperclassmen were caught harassing a second-year for money. Sixteen-year-old Mitsuya, despite being shorter and younger, didn’t hesitate to fight them off. A year later, there was another instance, when some girls in your class were being creeped on by a new teacher. Again, Mitsuya did not falter, even when it was an authority figure. He gave that pervert a good beating, and with the many witnesses that came forward in his defense, he didn’t suffer any consequences to his school record. Many respected him for his personality, more feared him for his association with the most notorious biker gang in Tokyo. Nobody, however, actually knew him. Except for his few friends from the gang, the rest of your class only shared stories of what they’ve heard or seen him do in the past. Everybody outside of Toman only saw what was on the surface. In theory, you didn’t have a good reason to be fearful of him, considering you’ve barely interacted with him prior to this. Still, it’s the uncertainty of his character that makes you uneasy. That, and his undeniable “bad boy” charm.
Who are you kidding, though? He probably has no clue who you are. While you’re happy in your own skin, you’re not exactly a stunner compared to the other girls in your class. Your friends, Mei and Keiko, often shower you in compliments, though you’re certain it’s only because they love you, and those don’t count in the grand scheme of things. Truth be told, you’ve made peace knowing you’ll never be the object of one’s affection, at least, not in this high school. Maybe one day, in the far future, where men have developed from immature teens to immature adults. For now, you’re perfectly fine enjoying your last semester before college. Still, it doesn’t hurt to imagine strikingly handsome Takashi Mitsuya in your girlish fantasies, right?
You shake your head of any inappropriate thoughts, finally willing yourself to enter the room. His back is turned towards you, head bowed over the desk. The curtains are open wide, allowing bright streaks of sunlight to cover the room in a golden glow. You clear your throat to get his attention, and when it isn’t enough for him to react, you do it louder, announcing your presence. “Hello, Mitsuya.”
He straightens up, craning his neck to look at you, removing his left earbud. “Shimizu?”
You’re surprised he knows your name. You’ve been classmates since last semester, but you didn’t think he’d recognize you, nor remember your name. “Yes, hi. I want to ask you a favor if that’s alright.”
Popping the other earbud off, he smiles, swiveling his chair to face you directly. “Okay. Shoot.”
You cross your arms over your chest, swallowing hard. “Um, well, I was wondering if you could teach me how to sew.”
He raises a brow at you, curious. “Sew?”
You nod. “Yes. I want to learn before I go to college in the fall. My mom usually hems my pants and what not, but I want to learn for myself. She isn’t the best teacher, and I heard you were president of your middle school’s sewing club. So, I figured it’d be nice to learn. From you.”
He stares at you, contemplating. His gaze is intense, as if he’s inspecting you, processing the many different outcomes for how this scenario could play out. Before he responds, you add, “I can pay you. Or I can do your homework for you, although I’m not the smartest in the class…”
“Do you babysit?”
You blink at him, making sure you heard correctly. “Babysit?” You’re an only child, so you never needed to. The most experience you’ve had is spending time with younger cousins during house parties. How hard could it be? “I can babysit,” you reply, not too confidentially.
“Normally, I would help you out without expecting anything in return. But since you offered, I’d love it if you could babysit. Not every day, but maybe once a week. We can do our sewing lessons the same amount, so that it’s fair. What do you say?” He holds his hand out, wanting to shake on it to make it official. You wonder if this is how oaths are done in the Tokyo Manji Gang, which makes you giggle thinking you could ever be a part of an intense organization like that.
You shake on it, fingers squeezing around his in a firm grip. “Deal.”
He grins, releasing you. “Great. We can start this week if you’re up for it. How about Friday?”
“Sure. Do you want me to babysit that day, too?”
“Yes, unless you already have plans.”
You usually spend your Friday nights with your parents, watching a movie, or with friends, watching a movie. Either way, it’s not significant enough that you can’t sacrifice it for the next couple of weeks. “I’ll be free.”
“Great. We can go right after our lesson. I’ll introduce you to my sisters, Luna, and Mana. That’s who you’ll be babysitting.” He reaches into his pocket pulling his phone out, holding the screen towards you. The background is a picture of him with two young girls, making silly faces at the camera.
You smile. “Cute. I look forward to meeting them.”
“Cool. I’ll see you here Friday, then.”
“I’ll be here. Thank you, I really appreciate it.”
He nods, waving farewell as you step out of the room and down the hall. It’s a fair arrangement that should go smoothly. Sewing lessons in exchange for babysitting. What could possibly go wrong?
~~~
Friday afternoon, Mitsuya sets up shop as usual. It’s part of his weekly routine: After his last class of the day, if there aren’t any pressing manners concerning Toman, he strolls into the home economics room and heads immediately to the windows to open the curtains, basking in the sunlight. It’s the best type of lighting for when he’s sewing. It also gives him that natural boost of happiness, which is an added bonus.
Today, he’s working on Luna’s skirt, which tore while she was playing at school. It’s an easy fix, so he brought more clothing from home to mend. Later tonight, there’s a big meeting at Musashi Shrine to discuss the gang’s current state of affairs. Recently, there’s been talks of absorbing the Leviathans, a new gang that has emerged from Shinjuku. Not much is known about them, and with Mitsuya being preoccupied with school and taking care of his sisters, he hasn’t been too involved in any direct action. He plans to meet with Draken for dinner prior to the meeting to get caught up with any important matters.
He pushes his earbuds in, ready to listen to his favorite playlist, when he someone clear their throat behind him. He turns to see his classmate, Shimizu, waving politely at him. “Hello.”
“Oh, shit,” he swears out loud, scratching his nape, embarrassed. “I’m sorry, I totally forgot about today.”
She sets her backpack on one of the nearby desks, pulling a chair next to him. “That’s okay. I hope I’m not bothering you.”
“Nah, not at all. I’m so used to being alone in here, it’ll be nice to have some company.” He points to his sister’s skirt. “I’m fixing this if you want to watch. This one is pretty simple.”
He explains the process thoroughly, turning it inside out, poking a pin through the edges to hold together. She watches as he describes what a backstitch is, pointing at the different spots for the needle to enter and exit. He does it slowly, repeating it several times until it’s engrained in her mind. When he’s done, he loops the thread, knotting it to finish. She blinks several times, as if she missed something. He laughs softly, amused by her reaction. “That I can’t really repeat, so you’ll just have to practice.”
Her face relaxes into a smile. “It’s like magic.”
He trims the excess threading, inspects his work once more, then flips the skirt, tugging where the tear used to be. “I guess I’m sort of a wizard then,” he teases, winking at her.
For the next hour, Mitsuya demonstrates other simple tasks: hemming his mom’s pants, fixing buttons on one of his cardigans, mending a tear in Hakkai’s jacket. She observes intently, listening to his every word, repeating it aloud to better memorize. When he’s not teaching her the basics of sewing, he’s making small talk, learning that they have more in common than he originally expected. They both dislike math, enjoy cooking, indulge in similar types of food, even listen to some of the same bands and artists. He doesn’t remember ever conversing with Shimizu before this, not to this extent at least. He’s always been aware of her since they’re in the same class, but he never gave her much thought. Then again, Mitsuya never really gives any of the girls in school much thought, too focused on his own hobbies and extracurriculars. It also seems like the girls in his class generally avoid him, probably due to his affiliation to Toman. It isn’t that he’s not attracted to anyone; sure, he indulges in the occasion second glance at a pretty face passing by. He’s just too busy with other things to pay attention.
That being said, he gives credit to Shimizu for actually having the guts to approach him first. It seems that she’s prepared to go beyond her comfort level to get what she wants, and that’s something he can respect whole heartedly. She must be really determined to learn how to sew if she’s willing to ask a delinquent for help.
Before he knows it, it’s already five o’clock. His phone vibrates, his mom’s contact flashing on the screen. He checks it while Shimizu studies the stitch on Hakkai’s jacket, running her fingers along where the rip used to be, amazed. His mom informs him that she’s leaving for work now, indicating that he should head home as soon as possible to watch his siblings. Almost forgetting their deal, he looks up from his phone to ask, “Are you still good with watching my sisters tonight?”
She nods to confirm, setting the clothing back on the table. Mitsuya gathers his belongings, stuffing the repaired clothes into his backpack. “Alright, want to head out now?”
“Sure.” She swings her backpack over her shoulders, holding her own phone in her hands. “Are we taking the bus or walking?”
He steps to one of the cupboards, retrieving two helmets. “Neither. Have you ever ridden on a motorbike before?”
~~~
This is definitely not what you had in mind. You never expected to ride on the back of a motorbike, firmly gripping the waist of Tokyo Manji Gang’s Second Division captain. Yet, here you are, skull heavy from the sturdy helmet Mitsuya plopped on your head, clothes flailing in the wind behind you, terrified and exhilarated all at once.
“You okay?” he yells out, barely audible. The cross earring on his left ear glimmers in the sunshine, a small grin on his face, glancing at you through his shades.
You’re hesitant to answer, too afraid to open your mouth in case the rest of the breath remaining in your body escapes. So, you simply huddle closer to him, nodding into his back, blinking your eyes rapidly to lubricate the contacts that are currently drying against your corneas. Next time, you’re definitely bringing sunglasses.
Thankfully, the trip lasts only ten minutes. Still, it’s enough to have your heart racing with adrenaline, even though you weren’t the one driving. He pulls up to the front of a quaint home, slowing to a stop at the garage door. “We can get off now.”
You carefully dismount, legs wobbly and balance slightly off, but in one piece. He follows, tapping the kickstand to prop the bike upright, stepping towards a small panel to punch in a code, activating the garage door. You notice it’s generally clean, except for the standard clutter organized on the side shelves.  He moves it inside, hanging his helmet on one of the handles. He faces you, beckoning you to pass him the other still tied to your head.
“Oh, right,” you say, unbuckling it. It’s only now that you realize sweat is trickling down your forehead, matting your already matted hair to your scalp. Without seeing a reflection, you know you look ridiculous, and suddenly, you’re self-conscious. You hand it to him sheepishly, attempting to fix your hair by running your fingers through it. He doesn’t seem to notice as he places the helmet on the other side. “How’d you like your first ride?”
Collecting yourself, you respond, “Fun, but definitely a little scary. Somehow I managed to stay alive.”
He laughs softly, stepping out and pushing a button on the panel to close the garage door. “You’ll get used to it. Maybe you’ll want to learn to drive it after you master sewing.”
“That’s a pretty big jump. Maybe let’s try something a little less life-threatening before that?”
He chuckles louder. “Not used to living on the edge, huh?”
“Not really. But I’m willing to give anything a try at least once.”
“That’s the spirit.”
He unlocks the front door, motioning for you to go in first. You remove your shoes, setting them to the side. It seems empty at first, until two young girls sprint from the hallway, peering up at you curiously.
“Luna, Mana. This is Hana Shimizu, my classmate. These are my sisters. Luna,” he points to the taller one, “and Mana,” then at the shorter one.
You kneel down to meet Luna eye-to-eye, smiling. “Hello Luna. Hello Mana. Nice to meet you.”
“Are you Taka’s girlfriend?” Mana blurts out.
You shake your head, laughing. “No, no, no. I’m his classmate.”
“Taka never brings girls over! Except that one time that we’re supposed to keep secret – ”
Mitsuya covers Luna’s mouth with his hand, chuckling nervously. “And that will remain a secret, right Loony? Right.” She muffles, wriggling from her brother’s grip. Eventually, he releases her after she’s drooled into his palm.
Mana tugs at your sleeve, eyes wide and bright with that classic childlike wonder. “How old are you?”
“Guess,” you tell her, resting your chin onto your knuckles.
“Fourteen?”
“I’m actually eighteen,” you answer.
Mana’s eyes open even wider. “You’re Taka’s age?”
“Yup.”
“Ohhhhh,” the two sisters harmonize, nodding simultaneously. They’re too adorable for their own good.
Luna grabs your other sleeve, pulling you towards the hallway. “Let’s go to our room now!”
Mitsuya interrupts, pulling his sisters off you. “Hey, you two monsters, I will give our guest the formal house tour. You two wash your hands before you keep touching her with your grubby little fingers.” They obey, fleeing into the kitchen, kicking a small step stool in front of the sink to stand on. He shakes his head, laughing. “Sorry. It’s been a while since they’ve seen a girl that isn’t my mom.”
You smirk. “Except for that one time, right?” Before he protests, you quickly add, “Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.”
He chuckles, staring at his feet. “Thanks. I appreciate that. Anyways, they’re pretty stoked, so I hope you don’t mind the high energy.”
“Not at all. They’re really cute.”
Their home isn’t that large, but Mitsuya explains everything thoroughly. The master bedroom at the end of the hall is where his mom sleeps, so it’s completely off limits, of course. To the right is the girls’ room, which they share. To the left is his room, which he opens to give you a brief glimpse before closing it again. He doesn’t explicitly mention that it’s restricted, though you don’t find any reason why you would need to go in there in anyways, so you assume it is.
He shows you around the living room and kitchen, where most of the action will be happening tonight. There’s a box neatly tucked away next to the TV. Inside is a variety of activities, including toy cars, action figures, building blocks, two dolls, and a tea party set. You smile to yourself, seeing how most of it must be hand-me-downs from their big brother. In the kitchen, he points out the major appliances and where all the necessary accessories are located. Inside the pantry are snacks and instant ramen, which will be the girls’ dinner.
“Help yourself to whatever you can find,” he comments, closing the refrigerator after showing you its contents. “They’re not too picky, so the ramen should be enough for them.” He pulls his phone out of his pocket, checking the time and his text messages. “Do you have any questions before I leave?”
You look around the room, racking your brain for anything you might be unsure of. “I think I’m okay.”
“Well, if something comes up, call me. What’s your number?”
You recite it to him, watching him tap it into his phone. A second later, your phone begins vibrating from your backpack. “That’s me,” he says, hanging up instantly. “Now you have mine in case you need it. I’m heading out now.” He faces his sisters, who are sitting on the couch, watching TV. “Luna, Mana. Behave, okay?”
“We will!” Mana replies.
“We always do!” Luna announces proudly.
He walks over to the closet near the front door, reaching for a jacket that you realize is the official Toman uniform, jet black with beautiful gold embroidery adorned on the back and sleeves. You wonder if Mitsuya is the one who designed it.
Grabbing your backpack from the floor near your shoes, you wave goodbye to him as he leaves. On the couch, you sit beside his sisters, retrieving your phone from your bag. You wait for the distinct rev of the engine and the loud pounding of the exhaust drifting away until it’s a low drone in the distance. Staring at the unfamiliar number displayed on your screen, you save it under his name with a small grin on your face.
hi! first of all thank you for your posts, always super interesting and well-developed, a delight to read :) it's too bad you have to deal with repetitive anonymous asks just being blatantly homophobic (''if they label it as brothers all the time'' lol Sasuke never labelled it as such even once and Naruto ultimately said ''we might not be brothers but we're great friends''... way to ignore the text) anyway, I was curious which panel shows Naruto being aroused? If you remember which one it is, thank you so much! (and I think you deserve a break from anon asks lol!) take care :)
Okay so this one's funny. I was talking about this scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are different translations to this scene. It's an interesting scene, Naruto is excited because Sasuke wants to fight him, and he remembers when in the Chunin exams Sasuke acknowledged him while smiling.
Tumblr media
However there's something funny I learned when I was looking around on Japanese naruto forums. I was reading discussions which talked about Naruto's gayness. One such discussion started with someone asking "Why do people think Naruto is gay?" and someone replied with the panel of Naruto saying Sasuke looks much better than Sai, as well as this above panel. So I got curious. (There was also talk about some of the other scenes in the manga obviously)
[何だ..にの気持ち下腹の辺りがキュンとす るJI-Iそれに…ゾクゾクする]
What is this... feeling... I'm feeling a tingling sensation in my lower parts/my lower parts clench in excitement... and I feel thrilled/I'm shaking.
And I went?! But that's not all, I read some of the Japanese comments and some of the men didn't sound too amused. They said it sounds sexual, like being aroused. Someone said "this is how you are supposed to feel when you feel excitement over a girl, not a rival..."
Tumblr media
This person is pretty much saying you can't explain away the lower parts kyun part lmao
Tumblr media
Another asking why would you even choose to use such depiction (yes, why indeed...).
Tumblr media
“Sexual awakening”
Tumblr media
This was a comment I have mentioned before
"It's disgusting.
Why did Kishimoto make the protagonist of a battle shonen manga look like a homo?
I really don't understand."
Some of the other comments were homophobic too, especially the overuse of the word "normal" when referring to a straight person. But the general reaction is telling lol
きゅん "Kyun" is an onomatopoeia momentary tightening of one's chest caused by powerful feelings. Usually when it's used it happens in chest for example when someone falls in love or sees something cute, (like you go eeeee) their heart squeezes. But here this kyun is happening in lower abdomen/lower parts… well.
We talked about this in private with sneezemonster15, saying how Naruto hit puberty. 🤭 🤫
So for the last day of @tristampparty have just some fun fact about trigun, escpecially july but lets get them done in order.
Despite being very, very obsessed with anime and manga and being quite active in german forums at the time trigun 98 first aired and was popular here… I was barely aware it existed.
I vaguely recall two people from a rpg trying to get me into trigon but they showed me the silly opening, vash skedaddling around like a lizard and him not having a bullet in the first episode. So it didn’t seem like something for my edgy teenage taste (oh sweet summer child I was.)
Trigon stampede didn’t show up on my radar at all either until I was traveling in japan in late july. I have no idea what even caused it but I went through the wiki, snooping for spoilers like any normal person. Which, sins the wiki contains stuff from trimax, 98 and tristamp it was. Uhm yea.
So anyway what I knew after was:
Vash and knives were species plant (which was so like ???? because I was thinking of trees without any context)
Also what the fuck is millions knives, how is that a name, this is almost as bad as the very manly male priest named ‘frau’
I am not going to entertine the section about a group that calls themself the freaking gung-ho guns, is this a joke
There is superhuman stuff going on with vash and also knives who is his twin.
Apparently he blew a hole in a moon??
He has a bounty on his head.. because he destroyed a city I think.
There are the two girls milly and meryl
Wolfwood dies (I vaguely remember seeing his death in a top then tragic anime deaths from watch mojo, I think)
when I came home from japan I just binge-watched it before going back to work.
So I went into stampede with very little context, but still some. I guess a lot of easteregs and hints went past me at first but that meant I was also unbiased (*cough*Roberto*cough* Milly *cough* new design *cough*)
I was delighted to hear johnny young bosch but a little disappointed we didn’t get any robin-esque gremlin cackle.
Was just a little surprised that wolfwood lived but I did eventually catch on that it was sort of an alternate prequel so to speak.
But then there is lost july.
See, I was vaguely aware vash destroyed I city. Sort of. But I don’t think I really took notice of july when skimming the wiki.
So the finale comes. Everything goes horribly. Roberto dies. At least meryl and wolfwood live. What knives does to vash is terrible. The fight isn’t looking too good for vash. The way knives kills the officers that attack vash.
and like vash was probably expecting it to be a suicide stunt to get the cube so far up in the air and detonate/fire (?) it. And in such a tragic way, it kills knives too (or at least that’s what it looks like to an unsuspecting audience and DEFINITELY to vash).
Everything is horrible but at least he managed to save the city.
Except it explodes anyway.
I was like WHAT!? WHAT!?
I’m telling you guys, I was shocked. I did not see that coming. In the slightest. I think I was still reeling from it by the credits.
Somehow, despite all the spoilers I’ve seen and read (also the couch…) I somehow managed to not expect lost july and was so blindsided by it
Edit: I posted this like three minutes ago but it just hit me what triggered me getting into trigun!! I’m pretty sure I never had trigon posts on my dash but somehow I had a post on it suddenly that was like this:
A screenshot of wolfwood saying to vash: don’t call me that! I’m Nicholas the punisher!
Then a short text about how he was trying to make himself and others believe that this was all he was or something along these lines and then the screenshot of the title drop “Wolfwood”
And then something really clever about how this was set up, as if right after wolfwood insisting he was just the punisher, the title drop immediately tells is otherwise. Like, no, no matter what you tell others and yourself, you are still wolfwood.
Actually if anyone has an idea what post that was hit me up.
AOT Season 4 The Final Chapters Thoughts:
Tumblr media
Crunchyroll won't let me screenshot so I will write out my thoughts instead:
I like how this part of Season 4 is Armin-centric. The first part was dedicated to Eren and then the second part was dedicated to Mikasa
Yall I lowkey forgot Armin gets kidnapped by the okapi titan
The cgi continues to improve for aot. However, you can tell MAPPA's budget went to jjk because of the amount of fanservice they are giving 😂
The Survey Corps vs past titans shifters fight was so good!!! I liked watching it more than reading it because you could see what happens in the action. Also the scene with Pieck running toward the Warhammer titan was hilarious
I like the detail of the gray people and the colored baby. The baby represents the future and it being colored represents the hope of getting through the Rumbling. I like how everything became colored once the titans stopped moving.
Levi finally killing Zeke was satisfying. Now Zeke can be reborn as Toji in jjk because we know stuff is going down there too lol
Can I just say that I love the aruani scenes? Like Annie immediately asks where's Armin but tries to play it off and Mikasa was not buying it! Then there was the other part where Annie saves Armin and AHHHH I loved it!! Her dad better be impressed if Annie got with Armin cause he is so cool
Okay that hallucigenia thing needed to go. We don't even know where it went after Eren died. We assume it died with him because everyone turned back to normal. Also, I guess every titan had a piece of hallucigenia in them, specifically in their spine that connects their CNS and their PNS. It turning others into titans was it's way to "multiply" and keep it alive
The eremika kiss was not as creepy as I remember in the manga. The lighting helped it a lot. I remember reading that part and questioning what was Isayama thinking when he wrote that
I like to think of Eren as Lelouch from Code Geass, except Lelouch lived to see the effects of what he did. Eren had no choice but to die after wiping out 80% of humanity.
On that thought, there was one part where Armin was like "we can't have conflict if we destroy the outside world." Well, we already saw at the beginning of S4 that is not the case. There will always be conflict in the world. We even see it today. Sure, Eren could have killed everyone, but you still have conflict within Paradis. We saw it already with the Jaegerists. Eren helped his friends have a peaceful life but that would end eventually once they passed.
I sobbed at the part with everyone reuniting. It was sweet in the manga, it was sweet now
Historia's daughter is so cute!!!!
I like the ending even if it is slightly different from the manga. Of course you get the 104 + Pieck coming to Paradis (Jean looking great as always lol), Mikasa seeing birb Eren, Onyakopon and Yelena (finally) helping out, Levi with the kids, and Falco/Gabi planting a tree to signify new beginnings
Now...my only complaint about this episode was the credits. WHY DID THEY MAKE IT SMALL??? i WANTED TO KNOW WHO MIKASA MARRIED!!!! I liked the detail with the other kid tho. The boy sees the tree with a hole and walks in. I think this is Isayama's way of showing that titans can return and Eren would be the new Ymir. I'm not too certain, but it would suck for Eren because he would not be free. Maybe the kid could be the new Ymir? Who knows? My question would be how would titans survive modern day. Obviously they would evolve, but can they survive modern technology. We may not use swords much anymore but there is nuclear technology.
(Edit: it is possible Mikasa married Jean based on what we see in the anime/manga. I feel like that's not a good ending for either one of them because a) Mikasa's heart belongs to Eren. It's like Rose from the Titanic. Basically, Mikasa won't love Jean or whoever she married fully. b) Jean seems to be busy conducting the peace talks with the others. Idk if he would have time for Mikasa unless they were both cool with it. c) I think it's just not a good ending for either of them. I felt bad for Mikasa throughout the whole episode and that as her ending is...idk...I would feel even bad for her)
I know Isayama is done with the series but i have questions I want answered!!! 😭 Still, I got into this fandom back in 2013 and it has been a good 10 years. I met a lot of great people from the fandom who I still talk to today. Aot is my favorite anime and I plan on rewatching the anime or buy the manga in the future. Now it is time for me to go to the next fandom aka twst lol
Just wanted to say, I have loved reading you jjk analysis while I hyperfix on the fandom. I have one question that I hope you can give me some answers to. Regarding Geto, do you believe that he's earned the title of special grade like Gojo and Yuki? I fully believe that he could reach a monster level like Gojo but I also think plot didn't let him grow more. Because people call him weak for losing against Toji (someone who also beat Gojo) and he wasn't at his prime yet bit then they also say Yuta was able to easily beat him and I think while the jjk 0 was good, it didn't utilize Suguru. Because it felt like he didn't do anything for the 10 years he defected and I think it's just because 0 was made so early on. Hope this isn't a bother, I just really like how in depth you are.
hiii. thank you for your kind words <33 it's time *cracks fingers* for a little...
Analysis on Suguru Geto's Powers
first of all. let's remember together what a special grade in jujutsu kaisen means~!
— a power so unpredictable that it's labeled as a calamity
— somebody powerful enough to overthrow a country on their own.
Tumblr media
so far so clear? great.
let's also look a bit into what suguru's abilities are.
CURSE MANIPULATION
as the name implies, he can absord curses and manipulate them according to his needs/ desires, with no limit on how many at a time.
doubting him comes easy now that we know what gojo suguru's full strength is, but back in their highschool days they were called the strongest for a good reason: they were on par. on balance. gojo's birth caused cruses to go crazy and the one with the most efficient skill against curses was geto. he was so powerful in a way because gojo caused so many curses to exist, widening his range of possibilities. beautiful parallel imo.
MARTIAL ARTS
no secret that my man can throw hands. not only does he have good curses, he can also fight alongside them/use them as a distraction since unlike most shikigami users, he goes into full offensive mode. that poor old man was DONE. you've also seen how well he handles cursed weapons in jjk 0 and in general how high his battle iq is. geto was a menace.
Tumblr media
he beat this dude so hard his literal life flashed before his eyes. and look at how casually he does that 😭 i can't. kenjaku ain't ever gonna excude this type of MAJESTY.
Tumblr media
even if his fight against toji wasn't as flashy as gojo's, let's not forget that he actually did have a moment where he caught fushidaddy by surprise.
Tumblr media
considering the fact that toji is literally a battle genius, that's very much something.
Tumblr media
*clears throat.*
anyway.
the destructible power of his curses is also insane. he killed a whole village like it was just play time, no advanced plotting needed. you can say whatever you want, but being able to act on a whim like that... this absolute freedom of choice only comes from strength.
Tumblr media
tell me that shit's not scary af.
and let's not forget that he got deemed so dangerous by the jjk society that he got put on par with a curse and even in the jjk 0 movie 'he had to be exorcised'. you know how in the manga they talk about saving riko and how because they're the strongest it doesn't matter what aftermaths they get? yeah. that's the perks of having power, the perks of being 'the most powerful'.
geto wasn't in hiding mode after his silly spree— he was easy to find at his temple and he was sentenced to death on sight yet in 10 years no fkin sorcerer was able to kill him.
Tumblr media
they fr knew his whereabouts.
Tumblr media
gege also shows him in his full splendid strength through his art.
geto was more than powerful— he was a low-key beast.
his only holdback was the world in which he lived, all the anguish and misery it brought him. he started doubting himself. he started losing faith in himself as human and a sorcerer and so he sought other paths through which he could find meaning, dooming himself beyond salvation. (his cursed technique is so shitty he can't live without giving it a meaning and clinging onto a meaning, let's not forget that manga panels about the awful taste and everything).
mentally he reached stagnation and from that point...he was meant to die.
that doesn't make him weak. he definitely deserved his title and definitely was the strongest along with gojo. hope this helped
