Hello, I hope you're doing well. You're one of my favourite blogs and i hope you never leave tumblr.
Genuine question, what is it about Naruto the series that make people get on so absurd and obnoxious? I'm not even referring to ss or nh fans, in every fandom of Naruto. Naruto fans and Sasuke fans (outside of the sns ship), Itachi fans, Sakura fans, Hinata fans, fans of some problematic ships, sasunaru/narusasu fans. The manga will say something like "The sky is blue". And those fan's logic will interpret is as "The sky is red.... also it's not the sky but the ground." Basically Interpreting the context and text as everything BUT how the author meant it to be understood. How can the text and context of the manga mean anything else then what it's meant to mean?
I know other fandoms can be obnoxious but it doesn't beat the level of absurdity in the Naruto fandom. What is it about Naruto that makes people behave in this way?
I do think there are other series fandoms that reach the level of absurdity that Naruto fandom has. Even snk and jjk fandom has bizarre behaviour. Harassing the staff, harassing other fans, saying the author deserves to die or suffer, stanning the characters in the most obnoxious way possible, having terrible misinterpretations of the source material... they have it all.
Look at Yuji, he's a sweet boy, yet even he has some terrible stans out there. Some shippers who like him as bottom will harass everyone who doesn't agree on twitter and in general hate on other characters, especially Megumi. And it's all just because they relate to Yuji or whatever. So they misinterpret him and act like everything needs to be about him. And some dudebros do the same, just in a different way. They think Megumi should die, some of them think Yuta is a bum who should die and so on. Because everything needs to be about THEIR fave. Some Gojo stans harass people who like Sukuna and attack them if they even dare to write analysis on Sukuna's character. Plenty of snk fans are disgusting too, like the way some people talk about Historia or Mikasa is gross. The way people misinterpret the characters to death is rampant in that fandom as well.
Itachi stans (the specific ones) can be so damn corny I don't even bother talking about them. Like they're the type who would put Senya as bg music on a video with Kafka quotes or some shit and act like they're deep. What's truly bizarre are the Sakura stans and Hinata stans, because neither of those two are impressive or likeable, so it's baffling why they have such a dedicated fanbase. Kishimoto intentionally made them unlikeable. Sakura is supposed to represent a shallow and self centered person who acts like they're a big deal and bites more than they can chew while getting her ass handed out to her constantly. She's supposed to be a laughing stock. Hinata is supposed to be a wallflower who has nothing else in her head except a boy who doesn't pay much attention to her. And yet. Their stans act like these are the most admirable characters in fiction... lol.
Shonen series tend to be "relatable" to a degree so it attracts people who need to make everything about themselves and interpret things to suit their own preferred view. Fans also tend to get angry at the author if the series doesn't follow the typical found family/mc triumphs all the time/other cliche formulas. Because those are what the readers find relatable. They're not that inclined to give chance to a different type of experience. Hence why Kage arc was so hated by many when it came out, and why Pain arc was so loved.

why did naruto tell kakashi about his promise to sakura before the battle with sasuke? and is it possible to conclude from his words that he wanted sasuke to be in konoha? it just looks like naruto wanted to help sasuke just because of the promise, although before that he said that this was not the case.
He's just trying to cheer everyone up, he already told Sakura it got nothing to do with the promise.
He's mc, he needs to uplift the air.

Any word on if Bort will be ending soon?
Not that I know of, I only remember Ikemoto talking about keeping the series under 30 volumes at least, but no specific volume number.

There are a lot of Pro-Sasuke's who are so pro-sasuke that they also become anti-naruto and fail to see how absolutely attached to Naruto Sasuke is. If Shippuden had been from Sasuke's POV, I think he would've thought about Naruto just as much as Naruto thought about them. The whole manga is about their souls being tied together by fate and chance. It's so weird to me to say you love his character so much but deny his main bond...
I don't really get it either, Naruto makes Sasuke happy. I mean I can understand the frustration when it comes to Sasuke getting the shorter end of the stick (seemingly) at the end but Naruto still cares about Sasuke so much and vice versa, it's undeniable.

Hi there! I did read that you are feeling a bit stressed due to the whole drama that SS/NH/SK/Naruto fandom.
I love reading about your analysis and thoughts, which are always pretty nice to read and well thought and insightful. However, I get that sometimes reading about that whole stuff can be a bit stressful and tiresome, so I come with a recommendation if it's okay with you! I don't know if comedy is exactly your thing, especially one like this one, but I recommend reading or watching "The Way of the househusband."
Is more slice of life/comedy/wholesome, and as I said, I don't really know wherever it's your genre or not. But it is pretty chill and light hearted, and never fails to bring a smile on my face.
Hope I didn't bother you somehow if this isn't exactly something you are interested in, and I hope everything is alright! Sorry again if I bothered with this-
Hi. That's a nice thought, maybe I'll check it out sometime.
Don't worry about bothering.

I noticed something during the Chunin Exams when Ino and Sakura were fighting. Do you think this holds any deeper significance?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't think so to be honest. Kakashi just sees the rivalry aspect in their relationship, as in neither wants to lose and thus gets frustrated.
But Sakura and Ino's rivalry is so lol, it's over a boy.

What do you think about this?
https://www.tumblr.com/justice4sasuke/189540631326/the-idea-that-sasukes-goal-is-changing-is-not?source=share
Nitpicking. Orochimaru's point was that Sasuke was overcoming his fear of dying before killing Itachi, and the idea he should live only for hatred, because of Naruto's influence. This would make Oro's plan to lure desperate Sasuke difficult.
This person talks about the manga with the opinion that Kishimoto's intentions don't matter and that her interpretations make more sense. So it's pretty difficult to argue with a person like that. SS think Kishi cares about their ship and intentionally wrote a good dynamic, so providing evidence that he in fact does not respect their ship or Sakura is easier.
"Even though there was no evidence he was ever thinking about Naruto during Shippuden unless Naruto was in front of him????"
He did though. When Sai brought up Naruto, Sasuke had a disproportionate reaction to it and he put Sai in genjutsu. When he saw the great Naruto bridge he smiled wistfully (and someone also made a post pointing out how significant the bridge is in their dynamic [link]). He asked Obito whether they had gotten the nine-tails yet (for no reason). When he was talking to Zetsu he suddenly thought about his promise with Naruto. Also, the fact that everytime everyone is in front of Sasuke only Naruto manages to get a reaction out of him does matter, even if she doesn't seem to think it does. And just because Sasuke's thoughts aren't shown as often as Naruto's, doesn't mean he didn't care about Naruto. He has a goal of revenge, so he focuses on it. One of the reasons he left Naruto was because he felt his feelings were making him too weak. So obviously he is gonna be written differently than someone like Naruto who is trying to reach out to him.
He literally said if he broke their bond, it would make him extremely strong, because he assumed pain makes one stronger. He developed his tomoe because he felt emotional over Naruto's words. And people are gonna insist he didn't care about Naruto that much...

Never seen anyone say this, only "there's no heterosexual explanation for this".
This post bothers me because the replies are like "I kiss my female friends all the time!!" like okay if it's a joke to you then go ahead but in fiction there is always context and author intent. You shouldn't explain away two girls kissing when the author is clearly implying they are a couple. Not even if you kiss your friends for lulz. I have even seen people trying to explain the kiss in Life is strange.
The post bothers me because it's always gay ships being explained away with "friends can do that yadda yadda" even when it's clearly implied to be romantic. Like when it's yearning and so on. Sorry I'm rambling but this is forever frustrating.

To the anon who was asking about people's reactions to Kage Summit arc, here are some... but yes, that arc really pissed off a lot of people, I mean Naruto had just ignored the confession of one girl, rejected another girl's confession, and then he is just all about Sasuke and wanting to die with him even if he has to leave behind everything he has achieved so far... everything that matters to dudebros who watch shonen to see the main character achieve and get things.
And yes, I have seen that "I started to watch Naruto for the cool fights etc. but Kishi turned it into a manga about homos" said in different ways. Like that one guy who said he can't understand why a shonen manga about a hard working kid became a gay manga or whatever it was. And yet, SS think Kishi gives a damn about their ship. Lol. The manga has been about gay love since the first arc, but at least this arc made some people finally see the gay, can't say the same for NH/SS though. They were just too deep in their self insert delusions.
