Your legs and arms were tangled after what seemed like a long nap; his naked body pressed against yours, his breath bathing your nape.
Slowly, you tried to stretch a bit, but couldn't since Neteyam was tightly hugging you. The fact that you were completely naked didn't stop you from getting up. After slipping away from Neteyam as quietly as possible, you ran for the door.
It was not long before his voice reached every corner of the room. "Why are you getting up?" Neteyam asked, his tone devoid of sleepiness.
"My limbs feel sore, so I need to move a bit. I think I’ll get dressed and have a little walk," you explained with a sigh, "I'll be back soon, you can get back to sleep," you promised, but hesitated to take another step.
Before he even spoke, you knew he was standing behind you. Even though he hadn't touched you yet, you could feel chills running down your spine as he whispered right into your ear, "Nìawnomum, there's no need to leave this place to move your body, oeyä 'eve." His lips brushed your earlobe slowly, and you whined quietly.
After turning you around, he grinned widely when he saw that you were turning bright red up to your pointy ears. Neteyam cupped your face, as he had done countless times before, planting kisses along the outline of your jawline while his fingers reached to your lower, exposed regions.
You couldn't resist giving in no matter how hard you tried, and this time was no different. The contact between his thumb and your clit caused you to inhale sharply as you turned your head away from him as you were trying to hide the blush showering your face, though it made no difference, since he already kneeled down, grabbed your thighs, and bit lightly on your soft skin while kissing your flesh tenderly.
In no time at all, your moans would be heard outside the hut, and you knew that they'd only get louder, so you decided it was pointless to hide your pleasure.
Knowing he could bring you to the point where you would be unable to control your own actions gave Neteyam immense satisfaction, and it was impossible to deprive him of it.
That's the exact look he gave you when he pulled away so he could push you back onto the bed.
"I have not moved an inch even though you told me I could by staying in here with you. So, among other things, you are a liar too, Neteyam," you responded and watched his eyes widened; in spite of your willingness to give him all the satisfaction he wanted, you continued to make your usual sarcastic remarks.
Hissing, he said, "You'll regret those words soon enough." After these words he tenderly kissed your breast.
You closed your eyes and drove your nails into the cot; your pulse increased at the mere thought of his taste.
While he pinched your nipples and kneaded your breasts, you ran your fingers through his hair and wrapped your legs around his slender waist.
His kisses were like torture as you needed him right there and then already, yet Neteyam seemed to gloat whenever quiet whimpers escaped your parted lips; he slowly kissed your body, tasting your warm skin, trembling like a leaf on a northern breeze under his every kiss as he kissed his way down, between your legs. Soon, using two fingers, Neteyam rubbed his fingertips along your outer lips until he found you were wet enough. Even though you knew he was holding back in order to get you to apologize, something you didn't intend to do, your body was begging for something much greater. "Nì'ul!" you moaned without thinking, trying to push your hips more into his touch.
Neteyam heard your pleas out and stuck another finger into you, never separating his lips from your pussy.
Your hips trembled as you whimpered, "Deeper, Neteyam."
A brief chuckle passed through his lips, but as soon as it vanished, his fingers curled into you, even though it wasn't enough to satisfy your desires.
Reaching out, you took his hand in yours, positioning it so as to allow him to reach deeper; your pleas for greater things were mixed with cries of pleasure.
His thumb put more pressure on your clit as he watched your facial expression with a wry smirk dancing in the corners of his mouth.
You were only a few seconds away from climaxing when he pulled his fingers out, leaving you looking at him with contempt in your eyes.
"I told you you'd regret it," his huge smirk just annoyed you more, and you attempted to get up from the bed to leave the hut, but he pulled you back under him, pinning your shoulders down with ease.
In an effort to switch places and bring yourself on top, you exhaled, "You're the worst, Neteyam."
As his gaze traveled across your body, he focused on the places you loved to be touched most; he was in a submissive stance, but looked at you as if you were at the bottom.
Even though you knew it was nearly impossible to change that, you still wanted to try. Before you reached his abdomen with your palm, you planted kisses on his neck, moving down to his collarbones. As you stroked the base of his cock, you felt him twitch under your touch. You couldn't help but sneer - it was unusual for him to react that way, which made you even more eager for what would follow. When you first took him in your hand and started pumping, his cock was already rock-hard.
The pace increased faster than usual; you were so excited that you couldn't stop yourself. You pushed him off yourself and rolled on top of him, and he gladly obliged. While bending down, you licked his tip and took him little by little into your mouth. Your greed made you move even lower, causing his balls to come in close contact with your lips as you left behind all signs of restraint.
When Neteyam was close to finishing, you pulled away slowly, ensuring that your tongue slid along his entire cock. In the midst of playing with a hair strand, you leaned against his ear. "What's wrong? You want more?" Your voice was nothing but a whisper; his body was tensed under you as you straddled him slowly, gently grinding your pussy against his erected shaft. "Don't worry, I am not finished yet, yawntutsyìp."
Tugging at his left earlobe, you sucked at the crook of his neck, savoring the warm taste of his sweaty skin. You were almost ecstatic at the mere thought of this man being willing to share his corporeality with you. After you'd finished, you sat up slightly, grabbed his cock, lined it up with your entrance, and lowered yourself onto him until he was inside of you. Upon entering your core, soft moans escaped your lips and you sat on his lap more firmly, regaining your balance and moving your hips fluidly.
Neteyam caressed your breasts and traced the outline of your spine with his hands; his lips parted as he watched you with a bliss. After you leant forward, your chin was raised by him and he kissed you, his tongue running over your teeth briefly before he went deeper, holding you close to him throughout.
"I assume your limbs are not that sore anymore. Why don't you just lay back and relax?" He suggested in the softest tone he could muster.
After nodding, with a last roll of your hips, you rolled off him and lied down on your back, grateful for the cold sheets underneath you.
"Are you willing to apologize for what you said previously, for calling me a liar?" Neteyam asked, tracing the curve of your hips with his index finger. When you opened your mouth to protest, he harshly pressed his lips against yours to silence you in an eager kiss.
Your gaze was fixed on his face as he climbed on top of you and yanked your thighs apart. After jerking his shaft a few times, Neteyam pushed into you without the slightest sign of hesitation. His movements were slow and not without impact as you moaned his name and the occasional harder or quicker, both of which he conveniently chose to ignore.
The fact that he had been waiting for his turn made you realize that he would probably take his sweet time with you. Soon, however, his hips thrust into you faster, his cock so deep inside your pussy that your bodies became one. Moaning, you felt your pussy clenched around his shaft, spasming rhythmically, leaving you trembling in his arms; it was one of the most intense orgasms you’ve ever experienced. In spite of this, he didn't slow down and you could see drops of sweat forming on his brow as his speed increased.
Wrapping your arms around his neck, you caressed the skin of his nape with your nails, whispering sweet nothings into his ear - you expressed how much you loved him, what he meant to you. You clung to him, rocking back and forth in perfect sync, lusting for more even if you'd already reached your climax.
The last time he pushed himself forward, he wanted to get as deep inside you as possible, and you welcomed his cum when it filled you.
As Neteyam gasped for air, he laid on top of you, occasionally kissing your cheek.
In the midst of a long silence, you teased, "So? Are you not interested in my apology anymore, oeyä yawntu?"
As he gazed down at your face, still flushed from the intercourse you two shared, he propped himself on his hands. "Don't even start, little one, or I'll get angry again."
Biting your lower lip, you flicked his nose. "I'm just teasing. You know I mean no harm. Nga yawne lu oer.”

ok but imagine neteyam accidentally slipping his finger inside you while telling you how you were so fucking pretty when dancing at the clan party
warnings — obviously neteyam is a whore for you, that’s a big warning also fingering, neteyam rutting to the floor chasing for orgasm like you, phrasing you like english teacher for real
“sucking me in” ︎— neteyam sully (⨳)
neteyam’s the boyfriend that would actually start to finger you accidentally while he’s giving you a thigh massage? or that’s his excuse to put you under him while his finger are sunk in deep in you.
“‘teyam” you’d moan when you feel him curl his two fingers inside you, “you looked so pretty today baby.” he would place a soft kiss on the corner of your mouth. “fucking gorgeous while swaying your body like that.”
he would pull his finger out causing you to whine under him ay the sudden lose of him filling you up. “no, please” you’d beg unreasonably making him grin proud. fuck he was so lucky to be mated with you.
neteyam would gather your slick arousal and use it to rub your sensitive clit making your thighs quiver. “i…” you try to form words failing miserably. “so good for me, you’ve no idea.” he’d keep praising you.
“fuck, princess” neteyam would cuss, feeling his now fully hard bulge twitching for attention. he slowly pushes his fingers inside you while he starts to rut his hips to the floor next to you.
if it wasn’t for your fucked up state, you would’ve been giggling at his facial expression. not much seconds pass as you’re gasping for air, the stimulation beginning to feel too much.
you swallow hard but winch when your dry throat contracts. “neteyam,” you’d wrap your fingers on his right hand to attempt latching him away from you but no. “take it, pretty girl. stop pushing me away” he’d start to finger you fast.
“i’m gonna…” you can’t even finish the words. “cum for me baby, make me proud yeah?” once you let go of the bubble that’s kept inside you, your mate growls at the sight of your gush pooling down his knuckle.
“neteyam no! ew!” you would say when he shamefully brings his hand to his mouth and sucks on his finger that’s drenched with your cum. “mhm” the sight in front of you makes your thigh shake.
“so fucking delicious, princess” he would say before leaning dow to kiss you as of making you taste yourself. “see?” he would say and seal his lips to yours again.
i’d do anything to have this with them sully boys :(
yes i’m a whore for them btw, likes and reblogging are super appreciated and not pressured i love each and everyone of you sm <3

Jealousy, Jealousy.
☁️ neteyam x fem! Omaticaya Reader
🧷 warning: angst, jealousy, fluff.
📑Neteyam is giving you the silent treatment and you have no idea why.
Tumblr media
He shrugged you off again, with no reasoning— no explanation, he wordlessly ignored the way you had waved out to him from the water. He just scoffed and continued walking toward the marui pods. You huff, barely hiding how it’s ruined your mood by the slight frown that now graces your features.
“What’s his problem?” Ao’nung tuts as his ilu nudges yours. You shrug, lost as to why he was acting so cold toward you. You had fled the forest with the Sully family almost two months ago now, seeking refuge in the reefs with the na’vi of the sea— you had finally begun to settle in with the people, started to make friends with the locals.
Despite his faults and bitter treatment toward your friends, you had grown closest to Ao’nung. He mentored you the most when you had first arrived so naturally you two grew close. Swimming after training had concluded, sharing dinner with him even if it were just the two of you— exploring other parts of the village with him. He stopped mostly being an ass to the others because of you but he still had his moments.
“I’ll go check on him. I’ll be back” You hum before you swim toward the shore with your Ilu. You try and think of what to approach him with, you figured he wouldn’t just straight up tell you why he was upset but you hoped he would.
You find him in his family’s marui pod, his back turned to the entrance as he occupies himself with something. You greet Neytiri who gives you a knowing look— one that tells you her son is upset before she nods and leaves the pod.
“Nete” You say lowly, cursing silently at yourself for sounding so nervous. Your voice didn’t come out as loud as you wanted it to and you were glued to the spot you were standing on.
“Neteyam” You call for him again when he makes no movement— no effort to acknowledge your presence. He spares you a glance, turning his head slightly he scoffs at the sight of you.
“Stop doing that” You huff, stepping closer into the pod. You still kept your distance though, you didn’t want to overstep your boundaries— especially when he seemed this upset with you.
“Just leave me alone” He mutters, barely audible but you manage to catch the sentence. You sigh heavily, fiddling with your fingers nervously as you try to reason with him.
“Please don’t be like this, Nete. I’m sorry for…” Before you can even finish your sentence he stands and turns to face you. A warning look on his face— eyes dark and jaw tense as he shakes his head.
“Save your apologies. Just get out” He demands, his tone starkly different to the soft one you’re used to. He’s a sweet boy who’s never raised his voice at you— not even when you were kids, seeing him like this made your chest ache. You hesitate, silently staring at him with a saddened look on your face before you turn to leave.
His silence toward you continues over the next few days. He won’t even let you get a word in before he storms off to ‘train’. He’s even started to ignore you in front of his family now, during dinner he’ll purposely sit away from you and won’t bother passing the bowls of food to you. You two would be inseparable at dinner time, he’d always make sure he was seated next to you even if Tuk begged him to move. Now he couldn’t stand to be anywhere near you and you have no idea why.
You’re training with Tsireya and Ao’nung as a whole group when you finally decide you’ve had enough of his bitter treatment. You’re all working on your breathing techniques offshore— sitting in a circle whilst facing each other, you try to keep your eyes off of Neteyam who’s yet again sitting as far away as possible.
“Neteyam, when will you start talking to y/n again?” Tuk whispers to her older brother, you smile to yourself at how innocent she is. She doesn’t realise you’ve over heard her but you pretend you don’t notice, continuing to work on your breathing.
“When she stops talking to Ao’nung” Neteyam mutters back, this time you can’t play dumb— his words cause you to look at him. So that’s what this is about, Ao’nung. You should’ve figured earlier from the way Neteyam would grow cold every time you’d mention the chief’s son in conversations. You hardly missed the way Neteyam would look at him in an irritated way.
When training finishes for the day and you all make your way back to the marui— you hang back to trail behind with Neteyam. When he tries to speed up and lose you, you grab ahold of his hand and pull him back.
“Stop, we’re talking, right now” You seethe, frustrated with the way he’s been carelessly shrugging you off. You’ve had enough of it and now that you knew why he’d been acting this way, you could confront him.
“But..”
“Now, Neteyam” You demand, causing him to raise his eyebrows in surprise at your tone. You let go of his hand and allow him to follow you further away from the others.
“You’ve been ignoring me because you’re jealous of Ao’nung” You confront him, watching as a look of denial grows on his face.
“Seriously, why would I be jealous of fish lips?”
“Don’t play stupid. I heard what you said to Tuk” You hear him exhale heavily before he nods wordlessly, trying to form a sentence to explain himself. He seems to be struggling, his face warm at the thought of confessing such a big secret to you, so you grasp ahold of his hands.
“It’s just me, Nete. You can tell me anything, I’ll understand” You reassure him, feeling him squeeze your hands before he nods.
“Seeing you grow closer with Ao’nung hurt me. I see the way he touches you, smiles and looks at you. He doesn’t just see you as a friend. You spend so much time with him now, I’m scared he’ll take you away from me. That you won’t need me anymore” He speaks so softly and looks so vulnerable you feel your heart ache for him. You didn’t like seeing him so pained and you feel guilty you’re the reason for it.
“Oh, Nete. He may be my friend but he could never replace you, i’ll always need you” You murmur, before allowing him to continue.
“I love you, y/n. More than a friend, than family. There’s a reason why I’ve never called you my sister like the others have— I want you to be more than that” Neteyam leans forward, placing a kiss on your cheek— allowing it to linger before he pulls away.
“I see you” He whispers, closing his eyes to lean his forehead against yours— your hands automatically moving to rest against his chest. You lean into him, sighing heavily as you feel your heart pound in your chest. You feel relieved as you recite the same words back to him.
“I see you” You hum before gently pressing your lips against his, he reacts instantly— his hand moving to cup your cheek, thumb stroking the skin beneath it. Before you get too carried away, you pull away and place a quick peck on his cheek before leading him back to the marui pods.
“You had to cut that off short?” He groans as his arm wrap around your waist to pull you closer to him. You let out a laugh as you nudge him.
“Sorry, you’ll get more later”
a/n: idk about the ending it’s giving corny but i’m still grieving Neteyam so I need this 🤲🏼

avatar headcannons:
how many kids does he want?
neteyam x reader, lo'ak x reader, ao'nung x reader (gn!)
Tumblr media
neteyam:
the most out of any other on this list, coming in with wanting five.
in the words of quaritch- "a whole litter."
just like his sa'nu and sempu, neteyam wants a big family, full of little ones.
lo'ak:
loves every single second of fatherhood.
whittles toys for his little ones, especially ones he remembers he or his siblings playing with growing up.
little wooden ikran, toruk, 'angtsìk- and ilu and tulkun, too.
can hold at least four of his kids at a time. one on each hip, baby in the sling on his front, and a toddler in the wrap on his back. worried he'll drop one if he tries all five.
five kids can be overwhelming, of course, but he'll never raise his voice at them- if he really needs to yell, he leaves the kelku for a minute to let out his frustration.
insists on braiding their hair himself. he loves to do it.
makes him feel more connected to his little one, twisting and braiding their hair as gently and carefully as he can.
most parents hate their kids crawling into bed with them. with all the limbs kicking and pressing into you all night, who can blame them?
but neteyam can barely sleep without an uncomfortable leg pressing into his back, anymore. it's how he knows all his little ones are here, all safe.
contrary to the some of the other headcannons i've seen on this site, i believe lo'ak would only like two children.
ao'nung:
he just wants a small, loving little family.
he decided on two for a reason, too.
lo'ak would have been perfectly fine with just one, but then he thought about it more.
lo'ak grew up with four others- his siblings, his best friends.
he wanted that for his little, too.
becomes so calm, so easy-going and soft around his children.
lo'ak can obviously be reckless- but when he's with his babies, he's calm. his focus is only on them.
his favorite part of fatherhood is play time. any game his kids want to play, he wants to play with them.
they want to pretend they're riding an ikran? climb on! they want to play in the water? look out, daddy's splashing!
always makes sure both of them are included in the game, too.
no one will be outcast in this family.
he honestly doesn't think about things like that. he would take a moment to think about it, deciding on three at the most.
it seems like a good number to him.
it's the number of kids his parents had, too, so that might be why he's so comfortable with it.
he definitely thinks four would be too many, but three? it just sounds perfect.
he's one of those dads that pretends to be all tough around others, but behind closed doors- he's absolutely melted.
bonus!
this man spoils them. and i mean that.
ao'nung is a fierce leader- strong and proud.
but if his little one were to tug on his clothes and ask for something? it's over. he's crumbled, gone, off to spoil his baby and give them anything they want.
i'm talking dessert before dinner, letting them stay up late playing, anything their little hearts desire.
also... he'd have all girls. he never specifically wanted a boy or girl, and obviously its not something you choose, but something about his genes, man. i'm telling you: three little daddy's girls.
spider:
one.
spider doesn't think he'd be a good father.
but there's still this want pushed to the back of his head- to one day have a baby of his own.
spider thinks he'd be a horrible father.
in reality, if spider ever ended up with a little one...
they'd be the most loved baby on that moon.
probably wouldn't put them down their whole infancy, preferring to have them curled up against his chest at all times.
he wouldn't spoil them- he's raise his little one to be independent, strong, their own person.
but he would also show them that they were loved unconditionally.
that no matter what- their father would always love them. always.

hi boo, know this trend on tiktok, can you write something like that where sully!reader likes aonung and they’ve been spending time together recently but he knowingly kisses another girl in the circle? so neteyam being the oldest comforts the reader? sucker for older brother nete and player aonung
Betrayed
pairing: Sully!reader x Aonung
summary: You and Aonung have slowly become something more than friends but one night changes everything.
warnings: angst, heartbreak.
A/N: i hope you like this!! this is a little bad cause i haven’t wrote in like forever :)
Tumblr media
“ I made you something and I really hope you like it. " Aonung spoke a smile on his face as he held out a bracelet to you.
“ It is so pretty! I love it. " I said, “ Will you put it on me? " I asked, he nodded his head quickly.
“ You’re so pretty. " He whispered, my head shot up at his words, my face turning slightly purple.
“ I enjoy being with you, ever since we moved here I thought things would go wrong but you’ve made everything better. " I spoke, looking into his eyes.
“ I’m glad you and your family stayed with us, I don’t know what I would’ve don’t if I never met you. " Aonung spoke, he was slowly leaning in but then the voice of Lo’ak immediately pulled us apart.
**
You all sat in a circle playing games and laughing, the fire illuminating on everyone’s face.
“ Okay, Aonung- Truth or dare? " Lo’ak questioned, everyone turned their heads towards Aonung.
“ Dare. " He spoke, “ I dare you to kiss the prettiest girl in the circle. " Lo’ak smirked, Aonung turned his head towards me and then looked away towards Kyna.
My heart dropped, he wasn’t going to kiss me, he was going to kiss her. Just a few hours earlier he was acting as if I was the only girl on pandora and now??He was acting like a completely different person
Aonung and I had been spending weeks together, getting to both know eachother a lot better but now here he is going to kiss another girl that isn’t me.
My lips went into a thin line as he kissed her, rolling my eyes and turning my head to the side- making direct eye contact with my older brother, Neteyam.
His eyes softened as I told him days before about Aonung and I and my crush on the boy. He warned me about him and I should’ve listened.
I really thought he liked me just as much as I liked him.
After the kiss I turned my head back and saw that Kyna turned slightly purple and Aonung was smirking.
“ It’s getting late, I think I’m going to head to bed. ” I spoke quietly, trying to compose myself and not make a fool of myself by crying in front of all my friends.
As I turned around tears glossed into my eyes, Neteyam stood up as well following me back into our Marui, luckily nobody was in there and as soon as I walked in I fell onto my knees.
Tears soon began falling down my cheeks as I felt arms wrap around me.
“ He-he said he cared about me, and he made me a bracelet. " I cried, choked sobs escaping my mouth.
Neteyam said nothing as he let me cry, he really didn’t wanna say I told you so, so he stayed silent, “ I hate him, I hate him so much, how could he do this? "
“ I really liked him Neteyam. " I spoke, looking up at Neteyam. “ I know sister, I know, but if he’s going to act this way- so childish, he doesn’t deserve you. " Neteyam spoke.
“ You have a kind heart, Aonung is a bitch and he doesn’t know what he’s missing. ”
You smiled at your older brothers words, whenever you were sad you knew Neteyam would always be there for you.

TAG YOUR MINE
Characters: Neteyam Sully(26) x Fem Omaticaya Navi Reader
Warnings: none, just sweet fluff
Word Count:
Synopsis: Childhood friends play a game…could it lead to more?
Neyrali begged and pleaded as you gathered more sweet berries, popping a few between your lips as you plucked more. She had been rambling for a while about a much needed break from the heat, proposing to stop down by the stream after harvest was over.
“Please just come with us, I promise it’ll be fun and relaxing”, she pleaded, pushing her body into yours.
You could feel the blistering sun burn against your skin as you weighed your options, which weren’t many at this time of day. Going back to home tree meant your mother would be fanning over your every move, and heading back with the harvest group meant being hunched over as you peeled the thick skin from many of the fruits to get the sweet flesh inside.
A sly smile raised as Neyrali began pestering you again, “it’ll only be us girls, and you can even finish that cute little top you were making”, her smile wide now as she grasped your working arm, shaking it gently.
You could feel your resolve slipping, with no real objection except that with Neyrali, it was never just us girls. Neyrali was popular, loud and energetic as she worked within the clan. If Neyrali and Tili came then of course Tanu and Bexti were not far and with Kiri, it meant the entire Sully gang was not far behind either. Causing the peace to be upturned into hormonal chaos and pending trouble.
As you stood stretching high into the thick leaves of a yovo fruit tree, you pulled your final fruit for the day, laying it to rest along the variety of other fruits in your picking basket. Scanning for the other harvesters you could see Neyrali’s long forgotten basket back at the small bush of sweet berries in the distance.
“Okay, fine Neyrali…we can go,” you huffed as Neyrali shrieked, jumping into the air. Her happiness was short lived as you sharpened your tone “BUT only if you promise, no. funny. business” jokingly pointing your long fingers into her chest with a deadpan face.
She rolled her eyes hard as she began to pull you along, further into the thick vines of the forest. You stumbled after her, adjusting your heavy sac, that carried all your weaving tools and even pieces of your pending top, back onto your slim hips. It wasn’t long before you could hear the rushing water splashing against the nearby rocks and rippling back out into the forest.
As you entered the familiar clearing, the sounds of laughter could be heard coming clearly from Tili as she fended off Loak and Tanu from drowning her. A flurry of emotions fluttered within as you scanned the rest of the clearing, many more Omaticaya your age resting all along the bank of the stream. And as your eyes landed on the bulk form of the future Olo’eyktan, sitting atop one of the much higher rocks along the stream, you could feel your body begin to tingle all over. He was a sight to see, the crush you harbored from childhood burrowing deep into your chest once again. All those years of carefree playing as friends had slowly slithered away as duty became more important. And although always sweet and respectful in passing, that really was just Neteyam.
You were extremely hot now, your eyes downcast as you made your way toward the water, farther away from the crowd.
As you settled onto the waters edge allowing your feet to dangle into the calmest part of the stream, your eyes naturally began to wander back to Neteyam’s form. He really was gorgeous in all his glory, Olo’eyktan training doing his body justice as he filled out. As your eyes trailed up his torso, you could feel the burn within your stomach, perspiration building a slick layer onto your skin. His chest, full and round as it rose and fell, his neck stretched back as sweat begins to pool in the dip that meets below, up past his soft pink lips, you could now admire his bright amber eyes, intense and focused as he gave his full attention to his surroundings. And usually he was focused on everything, observing his comrades, sweeping for potential danger, and keeping a watchful eye on his rowdy siblings, but now his eyes were only focused on you.
He was always so intense, his eyes quickly tracing your form as his lips quirked into smile, and before you could feel the tingle spread from your stomach to your burning cheeks, he was walking over.
His stride long and quick as he shuffled through the playful hunters and dancing healers. You could feel your heart quicken, thumping against your ribs as it began to drown out Neyrali’s insistent plan to get with Bexti after eclipse.
She abruptly stopped feeling Netyams strong presence behind her, a sly smile spreading across her face as she eyed his body up until she was squinting up at his face. The sun outlined his body in a heated glow that made your mouth go dry and you palmed at the moss below, grounding yourself in its cool feel.
“Hi”, he spoke softly keeping his eyes solely on you, his shoulders creating a dark shadow for you to look back up at him.
An awkward pause stretched between the three of you and you could see Neyrali roll her eyes with a small giggle pulling from her lips. She was the first to leave, not even so much as a goodbye, swaying her hips towards Bexti, who waited for her with open arms.
The silence was almost deafening, only the beat of a nearby drum, and the loud crash of water filling the space between you two. You could feed him shift down, not towering over you but hovering close as he eyed you with a smile.
“You know we haven’t spoken in a while, I miss playing with you”, he was confident as he flirted, his attraction seeping into you. His confidence made you giggle, but no response would come.
This wasn’t unusual. You know Neteyam, at least you used to. When he was young and oblivious, a playful boy, who only dreamed of becoming a mighty warrior. He spent more time with you then, playmates who spent from dawn to eclipse together. You both the same height, him taking your slightly smaller hand into his as he guided you to the small fishing pond he liked, or teaching you and his siblings how to swim on a warm day. A big brother to the small and weak, picking you up when you fell and encouraging you to run a little faster when you were almost in his grasp.
He was still that Neteyam, just taller, broader, handsomer- you smiled, but still confident and forward.
Your face turned a hue too purple and you could feel his heated gaze all over you now, burning your neck, chest, and thighs as he gaucked shamelessly.
Turning your head down back to the flowing water, you mimicked his greeting,” hi, sit with me ‘teyam”, you grinned as that childhood nickname slipped past your lips.
He was bright now, glowing as he made room for himself next to you. Leaning back into the wet earth to bask in the sun.
Eclipse was beginning as the hot sun began to dissipate. A slow progression as your skin began to cool and a slight chill began to slither across your skin.
Your body still slightly pressed up against Neteyams as he watched your work intently. A quick learner always as he began to twists and braid some of the extra twine you carried in your sac. Every so often pulling small beads from his hair and weaving them into the dainty jewelry he was making. Working alongside him was easy even when your ears spiked and a shiver ran down your spine at the touch of his thigh against yours. No words were exchanged as the sounds of everyone around drowned out seemingly into the distance.
Your hands had begun to ache as your nimble fingers worked simultaneously weaving the brightly colored beads onto the waxy thread. The multiple hues of purple shimmering as you twisted them tightly together creating a contrast to the dark blue feather tangled into hanging vines. The top was coming along nicely, and a smile graced your face as you worked along.
Every so often you could hear the giggles and shrieks from the frantic Navi playing in the water, but overall it was peaceful and you could feel your tense muscles relax as you laid along the waters edge, the small fish kissing along your legs.
The cool breeze blew against your back, a stark contrast from the heat that consumed you every so often from his amber eyes dancing along your exposed legs.
His eyes had been glued to the side of your head as you worked, sitting up against him to hold yourself up from the long day of harvest. And as you relaxed, you sunk further into him, like you once did as a child.
The seemingly serene peace was broken as a sopping wet Loak landed near you, setting himself onto the mossy edge with an obnoxious sigh. His lanky form crowded over you, his beaded hair dripping water all over your lap as you rolled your eyes, you knew it was only a matter of time.
“Loak, always the charmer”, you slipped as your eyes rolled back harshly. He was truly a show boat, even in childhood. Calling the attention of anyone who’d look to showcase his itty bitty muscles, or running through the village creating a path of chaos for all the kids to follow.
His smile was wide, canines on display as he chuckled loudly. Resting on his forearms, laid back he hadn’t so much as acknowledged his brother until you felt his arms reach around you, pulling you into his warm chest and away from his soaking wet little brother. Scolding him for his lack of manners. Neteyam ever the gentleman was still as protective as you remembered.
“ Bro, don’t be such a buzzkill, I just missed my girl”, he charmed with a toothy grin.
Now he was hovering over you, pushing you further into Neteyam’s sturdy chest. You gasped feeling smothered by the large brothers.
“Loak, please, I’m not your girl or anyone’s for that matter”, you snapped, shoving his tawny body from your personal space. You could smell the sweet scent of yaku berries and healing paste seeping from him and so you teased “even after a bath you still smell like Sati”.
It was Loak’s turn to stutter, a purple blush spreading across his face as his flickering ears burned a painful looking red. You giggled, a sharp cackle spreading through the clearing as a low rubble of Neteyam’s chuckle soothed against your back.
Loak was so easy to tease, even as he had grown up with a quick mouth, you had a slick tongue that was quick with retort. His gasps halted as he eyed you with sharpened eyes, and you had returned to weaving, knowing that he would have much more to say.
“Well at least I’m not cuddled up with the next Olo’eyktan,” he quipped and now it was your turn to choke.
Neteyam’s solid body was now hovering over you from behind, rubbing your back, and pulling you back into him further as he scolded his brother.
Without looking you could hear the bright smile he held and it felt like old times. Loak teasing you about the very obvious crush you had on his older brother, and a Neteyam’s gentleman like nature allowing you to hide within his chest as a blush creeped along every point of your body.
Now he was pushing his younger brother back into the shallow waters edge, a loud splash crashing against both your legs as he surfaced back up for air.
“So low bro and you know it”, he gasped with a roll of his eyes.
Neteyam’s boisterous laugh sounded out into the crowd calling the attention of the few people still left as eclipse was ending.
The darkness had begun to descend upon Pandora calling the bioluminescent flora to glow with the absence of light. You began packing up your bag, placing your almost finished top at the bottom of your satchel.
“Neteyam were you able to finish”, you inquired with a small smile and he began fishing through the moss where he left the forgotten project.
As his large body turned back to your own reaching out for your long arm. His fingers clasping onto your own as the feeling of wooden beads gliding up past your fingers and then onto your wrist. A tiny bracelet with turquoise pebbles woven tightly between flower shaped purple beads you had stuffed at the bottom of your own collection of pebbles.
Your entire face lit up, a now pink blush creeping along your cheeks as you recognized the gleaming teal beads that matched the many beads within his own hair and jewelry he wore everyday.
You didn’t imagine the small project to keep himself occupied as he relaxed at the river would be for you, but like Loak he was still a confident charmer, and you smiled knowingly as your eyes admired his work.
His notable skill as a warrior trumped any of the other skills he had learned within his 23 years of living, but still his weave-ship rivaled a few of the skilled weavers within the clan.
“It’s gorgeous teyam..is this really for me?”, you gushed as he fiddled with his work wound around your wrist. His response came much later, a small bubble of silence that made you look up into his awaiting eyes.
“Of course, love”, his smile gleamed the same bright glow as the surrounding flora and he pulled you into him, crushing you against his warm chest.
“ Alright lovebirds, how about a game before we head back” you could hear Loak snicker from behind you, his soaking wet body making the moss below mushy.
Now he was yelling, calling attention to the few who were still lazing about the clearing. You could make out the pile of Neyrali, Bexti, Tili, & Tanu near the edge of the clearing, laying against the massive tree that shaded parts of the pond. They seemed to be in a relaxed conversation with slight smiles as they flirted with each other.
Over the years you knew that each pair was endgame, but no one was in a rush, our youth consumed with finding our place with the traditions of the omiticaya and excelling to live up to our proud parents.
As Loaks voice sounded out into the clearing again, competing against the howls of nightly creatures lurking far within the distance, the group had made their way up and over the waters edge near us.
The boys hollered as some much needed fun was suggested and you could feel yourself being pulled up to stand, Neteyam pulling you close against his chest again.
“how about a game of truth or dare?”’ Loak suggested a smirk forming as he stared down Sati. Her dark hair hung in waves, flowing against her back as she rested against a nearby rock.
Everyone tracked his eyes, landing on her form as she sat oblivious to the many eyes resting on her. She was a great warrior, following after her father to be a notable scout and guard in the late hours of the night. Loak and Sati had been partners sinde she passed her iknimiya. His training had proved fruitful and they were a noticeable pair within the clan.
You called out to her, adding to the crowd of young Navi looking to have a little bit of careless fun before trekking back home.
Although many people were all up for the teasing fun that accompanies playing the human game introduced by the current Olo’eyktan , Toruk Makto.
You had personally played the game with the sully kids many times. Always in the comfort of the sully families hut, as the game always seemed to get out of hand when played within the forest. The first and only time we played in the forest lead to baby Tuktirey being lost for hours, only being found long after eclipse. Loak having dared her to stay hidden within the forest until she was found. The brave Tuk had blindly completed her brothers dare, giving her father a “heart attack”, as he berated Loak once again for such dumb antics.
As you began to decline the game, in respect for the rule, Neteyam’s deep voice beat you to it, “ you know we aren’t allowed, plus we need to ALL be making our way back to Hometree”, his stern voice seemed to pierce everyone standing around and many had begun to disperse, slowly heading to the path that led home.
Loak huffed loudly, stilling everyone,” we’re literally all adults Neteyam-“ he retorted harshly but continued.
“-but fine how about tag” he suggested with roll of his big eyes.
You remembered the game fondly, your small legs racing through the forest, your skrawny limbs being thrashed by whipping vines and harsh roots sticking up from the ground. Your short body was still a bit clumsy, as you tried to leap from branch to branch. You rarely lost even with that disadvantage and you smiled boldly as you knew you could win again.
“we haven’t played that in so long”, you gushed, jumping up and down in a giddy childlike manner.
You could hear Loak and Neteyam snicker as they gaped at your excitement. Neteyam’s body had jostled a bit as you jumped against him and as his hand smoothed itself over your head, with a light pat, you grinned harder.
As if on autopilot, the crowd began to disperse. Female Navi shifting to the edge of the clearing, readying themselves in the direction of hometree.
The warriors still left, huddled at the waters edge, eyeing up the female Navi, picking their prey. The human game of tag had many years been morphed to a game of hunt. Young Navi learning to track and flow with the movement of trees, eager to become revered warriors within the clan. In all it’s fun, it had given many of them the confidence to begin training at a young age and pass their rites early too.
Hometree, our safe haven was base, and every prey who made it to its thick roots at its base was safe from the strong grip of their hunters.
If caught you were subjected to whatever desires your hunter requested, and most caught female Navi ended with courting gifts and shared whispers of love in the glowing night.
In much younger age you remembered the chase to be just as exhilarating as it was scary. You’d forgone playing many times, and only when Neteyam pinky promised to be your hunter for the game did you relent. With watering eyes and a bobbing poked out lip, you begged against his chest to go easy on you. His soft eyes and calm voice always reassuring you that he would protect you no matter what.
You smiled brightly every time you barreled through the thick vines covering the entrance to Hometree, spinning around to jump against Neteyam’s unwavering form right behind you. He was always so close, but never close enough.
“We’ve picked! Does everyone remember how to play”, a young hunter by the name of Tsu’mey called out into the clearing.
He was eyeing up another young harvester, Juma. The intense gaze of every hunter was cascading over their prey and you could feel the weight of Neteyam’s gliding over your skin.
His intense stare caused a hot prickle to begin crawling up your skin, every hair follicle on edge as your body turned over to fight or flight.
Your chest began to squeeze, tightening around your beating heart. Your widened eyes, pinching into slight amusement. The game was about to begin, and as you readied your shaking body, steadying it against the solid ground beneath you, you called out to him, loudly amongst the overlapping calls of daring hunters, “so close, ma teyam”, pausing for dramatic effect, “but never close enough”.
He was crouched now, his looming body morphing into the form of a beast, his eyes as daring as a palulakan itself.
Your sharp eyes had began to search for his form among the hunters. They had crowded around at the ponds edge, waiting for the countdown to begin for our headstart.
Neteyam must have stood at its center, his bulky form hidden well amongst the others so you crouched, tensing your body to prepare to run. 10 seconds. That’s all you get before he’s behind you, you reminded yourself.
“READY”, was what silenced everyone. The one word calling out into the clearing, jolting your body for the rush. Your toes dig deep into the soil below, a slight breeze chilling your wet skin.
“SET”, a low voice called out, stilling all the surrounding Navi. The silence was palpable, even the surrounding foliage and native creatures stilled to a pause.
You could hear your heart beating against your rib cage. Knees bent and hands outstretched to pull against the cascading vines.
“GO”,a deeper tone sounded out, the familiar accent sounding out into the clearing. You sprung into a sprint, pushing off the soil as soon as the Navi next to you did.

The load chants from the hunters spurred you on as you knew they would be barreling behind you any second now. Surely their eyes were tracking their prey, seeing the direction and scenting the path.

You pushed on, past the clearings bordering foliage and up into the trees for hopefully an added advantage. Home was not far and you knew you could swing further up higher so you pushed on.

The vines were twisted, forcing you to pull against them to make way for your slim form. Desperately clawing at the air to keep your head clear of the heavy leaves blocking your view.

You could hear the loud calls of hunters on the loose. In every direction they called familiar chants, as if they were hunting tailoang, in the night air. A slight burn was creeping up into your thighs, the soles of your feet beginning to ache as you landed harshly on a giant branch, high in the air.
You could feel him, he wasn’t close just yet, but his presence was easy to pick out many paces away. His adept body moving through your cleared path smoothly, catching up to your form, in less time than usual.
Your fingers were stinging now, small scrapes adorning your nimble fingers as you pulled against some particularly strong vines.
This may have not been a good idea, you thought. On the ground you only had to worry about the deep roots sticking up out the earth. Hopping over them with ease, and avoiding the chaos of other avoiding prey and hunters.
As you pulled against a thick cascading vine , pushing your body into the air to land against a branch further ahead you could feel the soft touch of his fingers.
He was way to close now. Neteyam was insanely fast, well past his peers in agility, speed, and strength but your head-start should have afforded you a good distance.
You could hear his harsh breathes now, almost as if he was right on top of you. Pushing your sore legs further, a harsh burn began to ripple through them. The thump of your heart beating against your ribs pushed you on, your wideshot eyes seeking out a quick escape.
A sigh of relief left your lips as the pink glow peaked around the corner of a large branch up ahead. Slipping down the slim branch you began to jump down quickly. Hopping clumsily from branch to branch, as you closed in on the landmark, the bright flora of (pick one) growing against a tall tree, almost as tall as kelutral??. Its roots spiraled around the tree in a magenta hue covering.
You were close.
Pushing forward the quick whips of branches and vines slicing against your skin stung, twisting within your braids before being snagged out. You could hear the path behind you shuffling loudly, tree bark scratched and leaves ruffled to make way for his opposing frame.
The loud hoots and calls of hunters surround you, as you closed in on Hometree. Your rapid breaths pushed out between your lips, heart beating harshly against your chest. But you could see your home insight. Just a few feet before you would be passing the grand threshold of the tree winding branches.
And then you felt it.
Warm hands tugging against your strained arms pulling you back from the winding roots leading to the entrance of kelutral. His hard chest pressed firmly against your back as he forced your body to come to a sudden stop. The air rushing from your lungs halted and a harsh gasp pushed past your lips as you swung around to face your predator.
Then his lips are covering yours, a passionate dance of tongue and clashing teeth. His bulky form pushing you over until you were leaning uncomfortably far back and holding onto his shoulders tightly.
As his lips began to pull away, you could feel your body following, begging to be kissed again. You could feel his hands all over now, on your cheeks, neck, shoulders, waist, and lastly your ass. His musky scent mixed with the sweet scent of moss surrounded you and you feel into his body comfortably with your eyes closed and head tucked into between his pecs.
“Your mine now”, he rasped. His lazily flicking tail wrapped around your thigh, holding you flush against his form.

creating scenarios in your head about you and them
reading every possible fanfiction you can
buying clothes with their name on it to fuel your delusions
buying candles with their scent
writing their last name and your first name on margins of papers to test it out

The Art Of Hunting || Neteyam & Lo’ak x fem!Omaticaya reader
Summary: You are interrupted by Neteyam's younger brother during your hunting lesson.
Warnings: none, just pure fluff (and Lo'ak interfering with a hunt lesson😋)
Word count: 1900
Author: Rouge
A/N: prior to reading, it’s important to know that: this is my very first attempt at writing for Avatar ✤ the reader is female Omaticaya ✤ a few things are in Na'vi language (I hope they were translated correctly) ✤ some Pandoran creatures are mentioned in the fic ✤ you'll find a glossary underneath the fic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was no doubt that Pandoran forests were one of the most beautiful, breathtaking sights on the planet. Those forests, filled with greenery and sometimes interspersed with rivers and lakes, have been home to many creatures, both small and large. Within the darkness entwined with light, harmony, so coveted, seemed alive, bonding everything together.
It was a beautiful sight to see the river in its generous curves, glinting blue amid the leafy green. As she drummed and rustled, the clear water echoed through the canopy of trees. As a result, the river invited all souls to dance, rumbling quietly and flowing with her current. A soil rich in brown hues, along with fleshy, lush green leaves, combined to create a three-dimensional wonderland that captured the attention of onlookers willing to slow down and absorb soft rays of sunlight falling through ancient branches and flowing down to the forest floor.
Upon hearing Neteyam whisper ‘breathe’ in a calm tone, your ears perked up.
As slowly as possible, you turned your face towards him, watching how focused the oldest Sully brother was - his eyes opened wide and his nose twitched as he sniffed the wet scent of the forest floor. “Neteyam…” Attempting to whisper, you were quickly hushed by his hand being raised up in the air and his brief glance that told you to keep silent. Hunting had been one of your most difficult struggles - you weren't much of a hunter and many Na'vi told you not to worry about getting better at it, and instead concentrate on herbology. When the last sun rays kissed the forest and heathland, and when the greens and purples morphed into gray under the eclipse, yeriks went out to forage.
As Neteyam instructed, he kept his tone low, barely moving his lips as he spoke, "Remember, Y/N, bow and arrow are mere tools. You must shoot with the heart." With the last rays of setting sun, his yellowish eyes glistened with focus.
As you nodded, remembering the last time Neteyam took you hunting - because of your careless behavior, the whole yerik flock got spooked and ran before you could strike any targets.
Neteyam stood behind you and made sure you stretched the bowstring sufficiently; soon, his left hand was placed underneath your chest, on your upper tummy; your ears perked as you instinctively drew in some air - when Neteyam was close, especially that dangerously close to you as he was then, you had trouble concentrating.
Neteyam was adept at reading unobvious signs - a little grin glinted across his lips as he kept his composure, not giving you any indication he was aware of the slight change in your behavior.
While supporting your right elbow with his other hand, the oldest Sully brother whispered, "Focus now, Y/N."
Because he had five fingers instead of four, it always made you giggle when he was actually touching you - no exceptions were made this time.
The laughter of yours only lasted for a half-second, but it caused yeriks to stop grazing and look carefully around, turning into attentive mode.
In spite of this, Neteyam did not resign from hunting wild prey. As he moved his head so close to you, only an inch or two separated his lips from your cheek, he whispered directly into your ear, "Y/N, what did I just say?"
Trying desperately to calm your heartbeat, you prayed that he wouldn't feel the heat radiating from your body. “That I need to focus.”
"Focus then," he instructed you, his voice soft as a northern breeze, his tone nothing more than a whisper.
Another brief nod was given by you in response. Using all your strength, you stretched the bowstring as far as you could and aimed for the individual grazing grass on the sidelines. Your focus was the channeling of your spirit, of your true self within, so as you focused you could learn a few things about yourself - for instance, that you could hold your breath long enough to stretch the bowstring to the point where it started to cut into the flesh of your fingers.
“Fire,” Neteyam whispered into your ear.
Your shot was interrupted by another figure approaching, making such a fuss that the entire yerik flock fled.
As Lo'ak crouched against his older brother, inspecting a clump of grass carefully, he tilted his head and looked up at Neteyam, saying, "Mother was looking for you, bro. I won't lie, she was pissed you were out after the eclipse."
Neteyam's response was straightforward, as always - he hit his younger brother's head from behind, lightly enough to not hurt him. "So you've found us, brother. What's wrong with you, though? Didn't you notice we were hunting?"
Lo'ak's shoulder shifted a bit as he spoke, "I observed you for a while, and all I saw was you flirting heavily with our Y/N."
Your cheeks began to flush as you gasped a quiet 'stop’ - turning your head aside to conceal the redness you breathed out deeply.
A snarl of anger was heard from Neteyam as he displayed his teeth at Lo'ak. "Quit it, brother. Let's head home, the last thing I need is for the father to get angry as well."
The younger brother chuckled and poked your ribs with his index finger a little. "How was the hunting? No kills this time as well, huh? Quit trying, Y/N, you're not a hunter. You won't become one because you hang out so much with Neteyam.”
Your ears perked a few times quickly as you hissed at him. "Lo'ak!"
“What?!” Lo'ak leapt nimbly off a rock ledge you and Neteyam were using for vantage point. “Come on, let’s move up!”
You watched the two brothers slowly walk off, smiling gently to yourself - their relationship was so emotional, but despite the fact that they fought easily, it was so beautiful to watch them interact with one another - there was no doubt that they shared a strong fraternal bond. A wooden bow was slung over your shoulder, and you picked up a quiver filled with arrows that you adorned with some leaves and features before joining Sully brothers.
In the dark of night, Lo'ak walked first, leading the way back home. He was always the first one everywhere, always so curious, never satisfied with the status quo, always seeking for something new to discover.
The long steps you took aligned you with Neteyam, who reluctantly followed his brother, holding his bow firmly in hand. As you stared at him, you engaged him in a small conversation, "You seem angry, Net."
As the three of you crossed the large field, a group of resting kentens rose into the sky. This made Neteyam and you stop to marvel at the luminous magenta and purple discs that floated to safety on the branches of an old, nearby tree.
Taking a glance over his shoulder, Neteyam checked to make sure his younger brother was far enough. Putting on his ionar once he was certain, he turned to you. "It's not that," he replied quickly, trying to dismiss the topic.
With your quiver slung over the same shoulder as your bow, you crossed your hands over your chest, giving him a significant glance, the tip of your nose twitching a tad.
“What?” His tail wiggled rapidly.
You touched his chest with your slender fingertips and whispered, "Neteyam, I know you long enough to be sure you harbor anger within you."
Taking a deep breath, Neteyam placed his hand on top of yours that rested on his chest, then placed his other hand on your cheek to caress the smooth surface of your skin. “There was just one thing I hoped for. A few alone moments with you, Y/N."
As you snuggled your cheek into his warm, welcoming palm, you curled your lips into a sweet smile; your eyes never left his. "The plenty of occasion will come, oeyä yawntu," you said, wiggling your tail slowly.
The gaze of Neteyam was intense as he stared down at you. Your smile was the sun, it was the silencing of all the noises, it was both the cage and the ever-wide open door, leading to unknown places. It wasn't long before Neteyam got lost in the depth of your eyes and the warmth of your little grin. “Is your word a promise, yawntutsyìp?”
A slight tilt of your head indicated a nod. “Yes.”
A strong embrace encased your slim figure as Neteyam pulled you closer. After removing his ionar, he lowered his head slowly, resting his forehead gently against yours; his tail danced a bit with yours, wrapping itself around yours from time to time. "I love you, Y/N," he whispered softly.
When you slipped your palm across his chest and rested it against his heart, you replied, "Nga yawne lu oer."
After returning to check on you two, Lo'ak called out, "Guys! Are you two going to stand in the middle of the forest, like idiots, snuggling now? Seriously?”
A low growl escaped Neteyam's lips as he put his ionar back on. “This is none of your business. Get your ass back on the ikran."
"I'm not the one whose shenanigans cause us problems, bro," Lo'ak laughed, but followed his older brother's order.
As Neteyam's ikran spotted him approaching, it roared and wiggled its wings several times, lowering its head to greet his Na'vi.
Ikran's elongated snout was stroked by Neteyam as he jumped on its back, helping you up as well. Neteyam connected his queue to the ikran, and the beast was ready to fly. "Y/N, are you alright?" Neteyam asked softly as he wrapped his arms around your tummy to keep you from falling.
"Yes," you replied shortly. "Let's head home."
Neteyam ordered ikran to take off with a nod.
Before soaring, ikran roared once more, spreading its large wings.
It was fascinating to watch Lo'ak glide smoothly with his ikran in the air. The voice of Neteyam jolted you out of your thinking. “You know what?”
“Hmmm?” You mumbled, holding tightly onto his ikran’s neck.
"The thought of being back home excites me so much."
“Why is that? I thought you sought every opportunity to leave home to taste the adventure and beauty of the world," you questioned as you turned a little to look at him.
“That’s true, indeed. However, the mere thought of snuggling with you to sleep melts my heart," Neteyam replied as he moved his head slightly to kiss your lips. “Don't forget, this is just between us. It is likely Lo'ak would not leave me alone if he knows.”You knew he was right - Lo'ak was the first one to pick on his older brother, and if he only knew Neteyam had a soft side, he wouldn't give up so easily. “Don’t worry, I know.” Your palm rested on his cheek as you kissed his lips once more, a little longer this time. "Oeyä Neteyam, you mean the world to me."
Love was a protector, a defender, a ride-or-die connection that was there for you always and in every way. It had raw power and could roar, but also, you would find comfort in its quietness, if needed. In the end, the real love you were sharing with Neteyam was the greatest blessing Eywa could grant you, and so you chose to cherish it.

"See you do this..." your hands skillfully manages to make a small knot on the thin string. "...then you just put another bead." You showed him a little compilation of beads you made.
"Oh," Neteyam replied with a shy giggle. "Ah well, do you mind doing another knot and show it to me?"
It was just another sunny day in Pandora, a day where you get to spend time with Neteyam and just like any other routine, you both do it. It was so simple yet it was the building bricks that established the relationship between you two. It was none a like and it fact, you could say that it was unique just like any other dynamics between lovers.
He would teach you how to use a bow, you would teach him how to do bead works. He would teach you how to hunt, in return you would teach him how to perfect the right beat when playing the drum to sing praises for Eywa. Truth is, he's good at everything and he knows it yet somehow, he finds himself a little happier inside whenever he pretended he's slow or doesn't know and you'll assist him and show your patience and dedication to teach him.
Heck he loves how you would find yourself pouting whenever you sensed that he was playing with you and actually knew the thing. But it didn't matter to you too, you loved every bit of time you spent together and taught each other's ways.
"’Teyam, I do not know if you're joking around with me that you actually know how to make this or you don't really know how to." You looked at him, your back once pressed against his chest straightened as your turned around to face him with a little frown.
Your little movements and that little cute frown your face did made Neteyam soften his gaze as he put the stringed bead he was making to his side and now cupped your left cheek.
"No, I really do not know how to, ma seze (my blue flower)." Tone soft, complimenting his endearing look to you.
Neteyam had this habit to call you in different endearing pet names now he took it to the next level by different fauna or fruits that made him associate it with you. It started out of nowhere but you got a hang of it and honestly, it didn't bother you one bit. It started with 'tiyawn' (love) and at times 'yawntutsyip' (darling) and then 'ma syulang' (my flower) and so on. He even would still call you that whenever his family invited you over or when your parents were around.
He wasn't the shy one to call you such endearing names and it was because he was so sure he adored and loved you in every way and he wanted to show you off.
"Really?"
He chuckled to which he replied, "Really. So, teach me more, okay?"
"'kay," You nod enthusiastically and gave his cheek a small peck. Now your back pressed against his toned chest. You started to keep your hands busy by placing bead after bead slowly forming another knot, making sure it was slow enough so Neteyam could keep up.
Neteyam couldn't ask for more, you're special to him and he wouldn't dare miss any small endearing moments with you. Just like this, you made a man feel complete. Just like this.

Headcanons for how lo’ak, Neteyam, and aonung would be when dating you? Maybe some dates they would like to do etc :)
Boyfriend Headcannons
💭— How Neteyam, Lo’ak and Ao’nung would be as your boyfriend.
🧷 — this is my first time doing headcannons so hopefully it’s good :)
Neteyam
Neteyam is the type of boyfriend who would randomly give you gifts. It doesn’t even have to be a special occasion— he’ll give you something sentimental just because. When he goes out diving with the other boys he always finds pretty shells that he finds to give to you. He always says they remind him of you.
He was too shy to ask you out at first, too concerned about whether or not he’d be over stepping his boundaries especially since he didn’t know how you felt. Lo’ak being Lo’ak— ‘accidentally’ blurted it out to you one day that Neteyam liked you, which resulted in Neteyam beating him but also confessing his feelings to you. The rest happened from there.
He’s protective over you, but in a healthy way. He doesn’t mind you being around other guys, he trusts you so he doesn’t worry. He knows you’re clumsy so he’s always looking out for you, holding your hand to help guide you if you’re walking on uneven surfaces, tending to your wounds if you get any from training and making sure you’re fed. He won’t let you leave his marui until he knows you’ve eaten.
“Have you eaten enough?” He’ll ask you for the fifth time. You nod, unable to reply because your mouth is full. “Yes, Nete. I’m fine— I’ll see you later” You laugh, finding amusement in the fact your boyfriend is so caring. He’ll let you leave, giving you a kiss before he cleans up the rest of the food.
When you get into arguments with him and you both need space, it doesn’t last long. Neteyam hates being away from you, especially when he knows you’re both upset at each other. So he’ll find you wherever you are with an apology ready. You can’t resist him either so your grudge against him never holds.
When he takes you on dates, he’ll always make sure they’re special and well thought out. He chooses scenic places, brings food he knows you like and he’ll always give you something as a gift— even if it’s something small. Lo’ak likes to tease Neteyam about it but you find it sweet how seriously he’ll take your dates. He’ll take you to watch the sunset or sit on a quieter part of the beach— he even sang you a song once.
Neteyam is always affectionate. He’s not afraid to show you how much he loves you— even though his siblings tease him for it. He’s clingy when he wants to be but he knows when to give you space. He’s big on physical touch, he’ll have his arm wrapped around you or hand clasped with yours when you’re walking around. He hugs you randomly and loves when you sleep next to him.
Lo’ak
Even though Lo’ak has the biggest mouth and never struggles to speak his mind— he found it difficult to tell you how he felt about you. He had a crush on you for years, always concealing it by teasing you and treating you like a friend— but really he was dying to tell you otherwise. “Just tell her” Neteyam would nudge him after catching his younger brother gazing at you from afar. “Stop” He would tut, shrugging off Neteyam before he had a little talk with himself to muster up the courage before he walks over to you.
As your boyfriend, Lo’ak is over protective. He trusts you, but he doesn’t trust other guys so it’s more than likely that he’ll start fights over you or drag you away from a group if there are too many guys there. You reassure him countless times that he doesn’t have to worry and after a while he chills out more, but he’ll still keep an eye on you if he thinks someone’s being too touchy with you.
Lo’ak finds being affectionate kind of cringey so he wouldn’t be so open with it— but he still shows you how much he cares when you’re alone. He’ll smother you, kiss you and cling onto you even when he knows he’s being a bit much. “You’re suffocating me” You huff, struggling to breathe as Lo’ak pulls you closer into his body. You’ve been cuddling in bed for an hour now and he refuses to let you get out of bed. “Just deal with it babe”
Lo’ak takes you on romantic dates and he’ll choose scenic places too. He’s naturally adventurous so he’ll sometimes put you both at risk with some of the places he’ll take you. “I thought you said this was safe?” You question him as you find yourself stepping over some old abandoned aircraft stuck in a tree. “Babe chill, we’ll be fine” He says this moments before the weight of you both causes it to collapse and fall, the both of you just managing to escape. You lectured him the whole walk home and he promised to make it up to you next time.
When you fight, it’ll take a while for you both to get over it. You’re both stubborn so you accept that giving each other silent treatment is what you need. He usually caves first, after watching you from afar and giving himself shit for making you upset— he’ll finally get over himself and go apologise to you. “I’m an asshole. Please forgive me?” He’ll plead, nudging you and causing you to look at him. You give in instantly, standing to give him a hug before you kiss his cheek.
Lo’ak gives you gifts he’ll know you like but most of them are hand made jewellery or random trinkets he’s found. He knows you’re not picky but he still tries to make an effort.
He teaches you curse words that he grew up hearing his dad sometimes say. Your boyfriend sometimes takes advantage of the fact you’re unaware of what the bad words are and he’ll teach you anyway. You’ll be in their hut practicing with Lo’ak when Jake overhears, scolding his son for being immature. “Lo’ak, cut that out” He’ll tut, causing your boyfriend to smile at you apologetically before he says sorry.
Ao’nung
Ao’nung is the hardest to get through to. He’s stubborn and he doesn’t like to express how he feels— even more so toward you because he likes you so much. He pretends to not like you, always teasing you, leaving you behind when you dive together and hinting for you to leave the friend group. He would rather get beaten by Neteyam and Lo’ak again than to see you leave but he wouldn’t tell you that. He’s too busy trying to throw you off his trail. His sister is the one who convinces him to just be honest with you. “She’s got a good heart. I know she’ll feel the same, even though you’re a skxawng” She scolds him, pushing his head as she walks off to leave him with his thoughts. He’ll eventually end his act to finally go up to you and ask you out.
As your boyfriend, Ao’nung keeps a close eye on you. He’s protective, he doesn’t vocalise it often but you see it in the way he’ll silently look out for you. He’ll help you without you asking, already by your side before you can even call out to him. When you get hurt if you’re out hunting or diving, he’ll scold you and he can be quite harsh but it’s only because he cares. “Tsk that’s why I tell you not to go without me. Look what happens. Use your head next time” He’ll grunt as he’s applying some of his mother’s healing paste on scratches you’ve gotten while diving. “Sorry, I’ll be more careful next time”
He takes you out on dates often. Although your home in the reef is quite limited and you only have so many places you could explore— Ao’nung always manages to find somewhere special to take you. Secret caves he’s found underwater, a hide out in the more botanical area of the village or a secluded side of the beach— he always makes sure they’re scenic. He’ll take you on swims outside of the reef on his ilu but he always makes sure to bring you home before dark— he doesn’t want you out there too long.
He’s shy when he gives you gifts. They’ll be hand made necklaces with pretty shells or something woven that you can wear. His mother and sister insisted they make it for you but he wanted it to be from him so he’ll insist they just teach him. His skill set wouldn’t be as great as theirs so whatever he’s made you will always look somewhat wonky but you love it even more. You appreciate the fact he took the time and effort to make it himself. “I love it! Thank you, Ao’nung” You smile as you kiss him on his cheek, he’ll pretend to act nonchalant about it. “It’s fine, didn’t take long”
When you fight he’s stubborn. Neither of you will talk to each other but you’ll usually try to prompt him first to apologise to him— if he was still salty about it he’ll just shrug you off and continue his silence. Eventually he’ll feel bad for treating you this way and find you to apologise. He’d silently approach you and wait beside you for a few moments before he’ll lean closer to you, nudging the side of his head with yours. “Forgive me, my love. I shouldn’t have spoken to you that way” He’ll murmur before kissing your cheek and waiting for you to accept his apology.
He’s affectionate in private. He’s not one for PDA and you don’t mind, as long as he’s comfortable then you’re okay with it. He’ll sneak kisses in and hold your hand when you’re around others but he waits until you’re completely alone to be more open. He’ll hold you while you watch the sun set, braid your hair and leave kisses on your neck. He doesn’t over do it with his affection which is something you admire.

“You’re getting too close!” you called out to Lo’ak as he ducked and weaved under and around you and your Ikran, teasing and taunting you both. His beast was just as cheeky as he was, sending your more skittish partner in a distress. “Shhh Tswake,” you soothed, stroking the smooth leathery skin of her neck. “Let’s teach them a lesson.”
In an unspoken command, Tswake dived, the wind slapping on your face and stinging your eyes. You just avoided one of the floating mountains ahead, though Lo’ak had no such luck. “Shit!” He exclaimed at the same time his ikran let out a head-splitting shriek, the sound of wings and bodies making contact with hard earth. You chuckled triumphantly, the wind now calming on your features as you both leveled out and slowed. You could hear and see other banshees and their riders flying around you, looking at you with disdain at the disruption of their previously peaceful evening ride. You smiled to yourself. It wasn’t uncommon for you and Lo’ak to be getting yourselves in some form of danger or trouble, it came with the territory of being the best friend of the Olo’eyktan’s son. It was hard for Lo’ak to live up to his father’s impossible standards, so you took it upon yourself to help him forget, even for a little bit. It was the habit of many people in the clan to assume you were promised to each other, but it wasn’t like that, it couldn’t be. Not when your heart and mind and soul was consumed with another.
You had accepted long ago that - for Lo’ak’s sake - you would never have what you truly wanted, or who. It didn’t matter, anyway, mating wasn’t always for love, you knew you could be content with mating with a respectable male and having children to fill your life with joy and happiness. But somewhere, deep down, a part of your heart ached, and you knew that feeling would linger.
The sound of Lo’ak and his ikran snapped you out of your melancholy: “that was not funny,” he said with feigned upset.
You grinned back at him, “that’s what you get for pissing us off, Lo’ak.”
“You know damn well it was Taw’s idea just as much as it was mine,” it was true, Lo’ak’s banshee was very much trying to gain the affections of your own, but Tswake was having none of it. Your previous thoughts had once again reappeared in the front of your mind, causing your smile to falter and your eyes to turn away from your friend and instead to the floating mountains ahead. You tried to focus on the air, the sun, anything else, but nothing could distract you from the rope pulling and constricting at your lungs. Lo’ak caught the change instantly.
“Are you alright?” he said your name, his eyes and voice etched with worry.
You didn’t look at him, “yes, of course.”
He didn’t leave it alone, “come on, you know you can talk to me. Tell me.”
You sighed heavily, both of you ducking underneath vines hanging off of nearby rocks as you flew, the sun warming your face, “it’s nothing, really. I just feel like… I mean, as we’re getting older, there have been…” Eywa, you felt stupid saying this to him. You paused, trying to gether your thoughts into a coherent way to recount to Lo’ak, who continued to soar alongside you.
“There have been expectations, Lo’ak. For me to choose, to mate. Not with you, of course,” you added hurriedly when you saw his frown. “I just feel as if there is no one truly out there for me, that I will never be able to mate for love.” You didn’t mention who, specifically, was on your mind. You knew how Lo’ak would act if he found out.
“Oh,” he said, his eye brows furrowing together again.
“I know, it’s stupid. We’re both still young and I shouldn’t worry myself with this sort of shit but I-”
“No,” he interrupts, stopping your anxious babble. “I get it. Dad’s always telling ‘Teyam and I to ‘start thinking about it,’” the thought of Neteyam thinking about people he would consider mating had your stomach twisting in an unbearable knot. Lo’ak went on, “but it’s not like it would be hard for you to find a mate,” you looked at your best friend, really looked at him, and he wasn’t mocking you, he saw how much emotional turmoil you were in and he was answering genuinely. He really believed you wouldn’t - and couldn’t - struggle in the process of building a family of your own. If only he knew.
“You think so?”
He grinned at you, “well, if they don’t end up figuring out about how annoying you are and how bad your breath smells.”
Aaand there it was. The real Lo’ak was back. You pursed your lips together to contain your smile, as you and your ikran dove down to the clearing for you both to dismount and go to Hometree for mealtime.
The tree of your home was a generous hue of colours; cool greens, blues, and purples illuminating the area around you in a comforting embrace. A light chatter of your tsmukan (clan) under the three moons grounded you, steeling you as you and Lo’ak walked towards where his siblings were sitting, Neteyam eating and teasing Kiri in his good-humoured way. Your heart thundered, pulse fluttering infuriatingly. This was stupid! You needed to get over yourself, it was never gonna happen.
Lo’ak nudged your arm with his own, bringing you fully back into what was happening around you, instead of your attention staying on the boy who’s regard had shifted from his sister to you. And Lo’ak. You and Lo’ak. There was no way he cared enough to be looking at only you. You reminded yourself of this as you began to rattle on casually with the other Na’vi your age you passed that sat near Hometree, a “hello” here, a “how are you?” there.
“I still do not understand why you talk with them,” Kiri said to you as you took your place next to her, pretending to be enthralled by her comment in order to not let your traitorous gaze to shoot to Neteyam and stay there. Embarrassing.
Kiri was around half an inch shorter than you, but a million times more feisty. You prided yourself in being friendly to everyone because of you hatred for confrontation, but Kiri was unashamed in her opinions of others. You admired it, to be able to speak what she felt about anything and everything, though you knew she felt just as out of place amongst those your age as you did. Just like her mother, you were told.
You chuckled at her cynicism. “Why wouldn’t I? They’re not all bad.”
She looked at you, unimpressed. “They are a group of boring idiots, every time they open their mouths my ears bleed.” Her candor was a bit exaggerated, but it was truthful. It was almost impossible to have any real conversation with the teenage Na’vi, their talk was so surface-level and… bland. You would never admit it, but you agreed with her. But before you could answer, the oldest of the Sully’s said something first.
“You are just mad that everyone is scared of you and we are your only friends,” Neteyam said it with a smile, purposely trying to get a reaction out of Kiri. His eyes flicked from you to his younger sister, almost as if to catch your reaction. You stifled a laugh.
“I’d rather them to be afraid of me if that meant I never actually had to talk to them,” Kiri snapped back to her brother, playing right into his hands.
“Says the healer! You’ll have to talk them if you become a healer with grandmother,” Lo’ak said, laughing.
You understood both of their points, but Neteyam and Lo’ak didn’t struggle in the same way you and Kiri did. Everyone liked them. They could make friends and talk to anyone, it was just the way they were. You said this to them, looking at Neteyam as you did. He huffed a laugh as he took a bite of his meal.
“First of all, not everyone likes me. And second of all, everyone loves you, I don’t think you actually struggle with getting anyone to like you.” His eyes burned into you, and even though Kiri had kept talking, you just stared at him, taking no notice of what your friend beside you was saying. He stared right back, unabashedly. You had been tense and nervous since you first saw him tonight, but now you thought your heart would beat so fast it would rip straight from your chest for everyone to see how much he affected you. It was not as if you’d never made eye contact with each other before, that sort of thing was unavoidable. This, this was different. There was a new weight to the way you looked at each other now, something you had never felt before. It made you want to get up and run away into the trees and scream. The look he gave you was a taught thread, wrapping around your neck and depriving you of all air. Did he really mean that? Everyone loves you. It was the first time he said anything like that to you before, and you didn’t know how to feel about it. By now, that bravery and easy-going way about about you that sat within you like a warm body of water had shriveled and dried up, leaving your mouth dry and head muddled.
You heard your name, and your mind that had zeroed in on the boy across from you instantly came back to take what was happening around you. Kiri was looking at you confusion and unease settled in her features. She said your name again, “are you alright?” You looked at her for a second, struggling to find an excuse for why you had stopped talking and was staring at her brother.
Eywa. Did they notice? Did they think you were being weird? Your cheeks heated, giving your blue skin a warm hue as you said, “what? Yeah, I’m fine.” Was Neteyam still looking at you? You weren’t gonna risk it.
Kiri and Lo’ak had now joined Neteyem at staring at you, and you saw your best friend looking between you and Neteyam. Crap. He really never misses a thing. His brows were bunched together, ears downturned and mouth clamped shut, his jaw flicked with tension. He couldn’t have known. You prayed to Eywa he didn’t actually see know anything.
“Are you sure?” Kiri asked. If she saw as much as Lo’ak did, she wasn’t going to say anything, and her face betrayed nothing to you.
You went to reassure her that you were, when Lo’ak answered for you, “she’s tired. It’s been a long day, Kiri.”
I looked at him, my eyes searching his. You looked at Kiri, who was waiting for your answer, and then at him. He was still looking at you. Before that confusing tense energy could take hold of your mind and heart, you quickly answered Kiri.
“I’m fine, Kiri, I think I’m just gonna go to bed.” You gave her a smile that didn’t quite reach your eyes as you rose from your seated position.
You left the group, and you could feel their eyes on you as you walked away, but you refused to turn back to confirm your suspicion. You kept walking until you were out of their sight. As soon as you were alone, your thoughts all bubbled over like an over-boiled kettle. You knew that all these thoughts and questions will have you up late tonight, running through and over thinking every second you were there. Mealtime with the Sully’s was usually so easy and… fun. But now, something had changed.
He had changed.
