In the early 1990s, I was a user of a BBS called Monochrome.
I am still in touch with dozens of Monochrome people. Many are married to other Monochrome people.
There are many stories attached, but today I want to tell you about the snoglink and shaglink files. These were lists of who had hooked up with whom (with the people's permission). There was at least one couple at a meet who went home together in order to join up a pattern.
I remember jokingly suggesting an Amazon-like suggestions system. "You shagged A and B. People who shagged A and B also shagged C."
Anyway, someone once said that their shaglinks formed a cube. But I said it couldn't be, because a cube is a Platonic solid.

The maths fandom is wild. “Real” and “imaginary” numbers? I think you mean canon and non-canon. You guys seriously go “this is my number oc his name is i and he is the square root of -1” when in numbers canon lore it’s actually impossible to square root a negative but sure whatever. “Complex numbers”? I think you mean a character x oc ship. “f(x) = 3x - 5”? That is self-insert fanfiction.

An infinite number of mathematicians walk into a bar.
The 1st orders a beer.
The 2nd orders a half of a beer.
The 3rd orders a quarter of a beer.
The 4th begins to order, but the bartender cuts him off, saying "You guys need to know your limits." He puts 2 beers on the bar.

this equation is NOT cute. numbers actually hate being under a square root symbol and it distresses them

People who say "Batman was better without his kids" must really like the whole ELEVEN issues that Bruce had before Dick was introduced because that's the only time he didn't have a kid. Bruce Wayne/Batman was introduced in ’Detective Comics' #27 and Dick Grayson's Robin was introduced in 'Detective Comics’ #38. Dick was around before Alfred existed, if we can have Alfred why can we have the Robins?

Saw a post talking about Donnies sneaking into schools to write silly math problems on the board. You get 03 Don cause I'm in the midst of watching the 03 series for the first time.
