Superman the movie, from 1978, has a parallel to current Loki show events, and I'll explain why.

If you've seen the movie, you know Lois Lane suffocates in her car during an earthquake while Superman is busy saving other people. Superman cradles her dead body, consumed by grief. He flies around the earth backwards, reversing time, to save her.

He is successful, but his actions have consequences (mostly not explored until the sequel), because he is warned by his father NOT to mess with time.

All that to bring us to Mobius in the time Loom. Some pics indicate maybe Loki wasn't successful the first time, and continues to try and save Mobius. The continued efforts pay off, but we see either Loki, or Mobius, or the TVA itself, beginning to decompose. Possibly because it takes multiple tries ?

Saying all this to point out that Loki can be single minded to a fault. Only the goal matters at that moment. Is messing with time and history to save Mobius, going to backfire ?

And will doing this actually be the catalyst that, while it saves Mobius, it destroys the TVA and sets loose all those Kang variants ?

Just a thought.

Plus, I gotta giggle at the idea of Mobius being Lois Lane in this scenario.

On another not so light note, it may be that in order to set things right, Mobius feels he must sacrifice himself because he was meant to die there.
