I want to sink into the stretch of things. sun-kissed horizons that boldly lay across bare country roads. sweet tendrils of summer jasmine that follow you into a dream. cirrus clouds sprawling from skyscraper to seascape. the lonely calls of sandpipers and gulls. muscles remembering themselves in the slender haze of morning. the unravelling of a yawn at the end of a full day. the pull of homemade pizza dough and melted mozzarella string. a favorite character evolving through the pages of a novel. the delicate inner stirrings that caramelize moments into memory. the kind of joy that runs deeper than laugh lines. the linger of a lip on the crest of a collarbone. the willful bend of a back in support of another. the serendipitous expansion of heart fibers past the breaking point…and beyond. the way practiced fingers can realign twenty-six key notes into infinite expressions of the same indescribable feeling. how we love and love and love—so many and in limitless ways. the hope that we can count our blessings on the stars and never run out of space.

My neighbour (75 yo man) said to me “I’m just not cut out for the city” and he said this specifically because last time he went to visit his daughter he saw a green sidewalk and thought it was cool so obviously he wants to walk on that sidewalk instead of the boring regular one but his daughter immediately pulled him off so he didn’t get hit by a cyclist in the goddamn bike lane. Considering nobody actually got hurt in this particular situation I just think that is so adorable. Clueless old man wants to enjoy the beauty of the world by walking on the pretty green sidewalk. He’s not cut out for the city because when it comes down to green sidewalk or grey, how could he possibly resist choosing the most beautiful option?

Hi friends! A quick introductory post is in order, don’t you think?
My name’s Madison and this is the first year I’ve loved myself. I’m 26 years old, unemployed, and living with my mom. I moved home from college right before the pandemic and have yet to move on. I feel like I hit the “pause” button on my life and I have yet to hit “play” again. I’m currently finishing up my schooling and I’ll be on the job hunt in a few months.
I’ve spent the last 2.5 years doing a lot of introspective work and that’s what’s allowing me to take the leap into journaling for accountability. I’ve seen firsthand what vulnerability can do and want to keep that momentum going in my life.
I’ve been overweight (and at times morbidly obese) my whole life. I’ve had my fair share of run-ins with ED’s but ultimately I’m recovering from binge-eating disorder. I’m trying to learn how to move my body in a way that feels like a reward instead of a punishment, as well as learning to rediscover my hunger cues in order to stop my cycle of binging and restricting.
I’ll be using this page as a safe space to journal my thoughts, track my progress, and primarily be honest with myself about how I got to this point and how to move forward from here. The remainder of this year will be hard, filled with both tears and joy, but ultimately it’s going to bring me one step closer to meeting my authentic self.
If any of this sounds relatable or interesting to you, feel free to join me on this journey. My content will be a mix of health / fitness posts, studying, learning how to be an adult, and frank conversations about mental health. I’m trying to appreciate the magic in the mundane, so there will more than likely be some romanticized rants about my days sprinkled in.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post, friends. I hope something good happens to you today 💛

May you find the magic in every starlit night, just like the forest finds joy in her whimsical dance.

Just an fyi, peeps, I am going to try to write mostly about haus and kitchen magic, and Heathenry on this blog. That means there will be more posts on cooking, interior design, witchcraft, Norse stuff, self care, etc. Because, to me, haus magic means building your happy place and finding magic in the mundane. Whereas kitchen magic incorporates aspects of both herbalism and witchcraft.
Like you make a special coffee imbued with a spell to bring you happiness and self love throughout the day.
Most of the nerdy and bookish posts will be moved to my bookblr —
@library-love
It is an anti-capitalist blog just like this blog is that proudly supports public libraries over chain bookstores and Amazon. It is my belief that stories, knowledge, music, and community resources should be readily available to anyone who might need them.
Not just those who can afford them.
If that’s a sentiment you aren’t cool with then unfollow me, peeps. Nothing more I can say🤷🏻
Anyone who has interest in my nostalgia or sfw age regression — like plush toys and stuff — can find those things can on my age regression blog—
@littlespottedcat
It is a completely safe for work blog cause I age regress to relieve trauma and my littlespace is nonsexual. It should be noted that this blog @sarcastic-salem is mostly safe for work. But you will find the occasional kink mention and/or joke as I support the kink community and am pro-sex work, and believe Loki is(can be) a kinky motherfucker.
If you are not okay with that you may want to unfollow.
Thanks, peeps, and remember that Loki loves you❤️

A friend of mine had this idea, and I’d love to see it in an urban fantasy: magic is real and it stays secret because it looks like bad CGI. The fakest thing ever.
People who witness magic in person can always have their minds clouded, as they have been for most of human history, but all this newfangled technology has to be handled a different way. A video camera records exactly what it sees.
So, what it sees is … something that looks laughably fake. For any time period. The various secret magicians of the world make a point to keep their spells up to date with the current mundane trends — some of them even have running contests for who can make the most fake-looking spell.
I imagine they have a great time doing it. I sure would.

once in a solar eclipse
I don’t spoil every kiss worrying that it’s the last
you tell me the truth and it does not hurt
we savor moments like sips of sweet tea in the summer
the sun is the perfect shade of marigold
I wake with the thought of you on my chest
and the heaviness is gone

Magical correspondences are only valid within a magic belief structure and have little-to-no validity outside of that structure.
There may be reasons why an herb corresponds to xyz in some belief systems, but that doesn't mean that the herb has those abilities within chemistry and/or medicine.
Don't fucking consume an herb based only on it's magical correspondence.
Do not consume an herb without doing the proper research into interactions, contraindications, side-effects, preparation, and dosage.
Don't start taking herbal medicine without consulting your physician first.
"Witch" and "herbalist" are not synonyms.
"Herbalist" and "doctor" are not synonyms.
"Natural" does not mean "harmless".
Mundane > Magical, always, no exceptions.

My best advice for advancing mages of any stripe: Get off of social media and out of the "New Age & Spirituality" section of the bookstore, as these things are so focused on the basic stuff. Don't hold yourself back at the 101 level forever.
Instead, find people you disagree with on how magic works. Discuss topics and enjoy your differences.
Use things for magic that other people won't understand.
Find or make up the most fucked up magic thing you can think of and work from there.
The more your craft, path, or other form of magic deviates from the "normal" 101 stuff, the better.
