stiles who sleeps with his head on your stomach, his hand under your (his) shirt resting on your bare breast. oddly enough, it’s not anything sexual. could it have been? most definitely. had he originally intended it to be? presumably so. but he was drained in more ways than one from the two hours you two spent pleasing each other in the little free time you had, and his drowsy mind chose to not spark something new. nonetheless, he still enjoyed the physical contact, even through his slumber. he convinced himself that it was his own little compromise between intimacy and a comforting dormancy with his favorite person. and your hands combing through his loose brown waves only seemed like reassurance in his lucid state.

Part 6
"Mommy, you should kiss Joel."
You nearly dropped the laundry you were hanging outside when you heard what your toddler said. You looked at your son in shock.
"Where did that idea come from, honey?"
Teddy sighed and said, "Because Joel is sad and you always give me a kiss when I'm sad and that helps."
"Oh" was all you could say.
Joel had actually been sadder for the past few days. He was even more reticent and didn't even react to Ellie's taunts. You didn't know if it was because of your talk about forgiveness or the fact that Maria and Tommy were expecting a baby. Well, You thought that was good news, but did Joel was jealous? He had Teddy, after all. He got a second chance.
"Mommy."
You heard your son's impatient voice and realized that "Oh" wasn't considered a sufficient answer. You knelt down next to him and said, "I'm afraid it doesn't work on adults as it does on children. I think Joel might feel weird if I kissed him."
Teddy frowned. "Then hug him... You hugging Aunt Claudia when she's sad."
"You hugging him, and that's better than my hug."
Your son made a sad face, and you felt like you let him down. In his childhood mind, sometimes everything was so simple and you envied him that.
"You know what helps me when I'm sad?" The little boy looked at you curiously. "When you give me drawings and flowers. Maybe after I finish work at the stables, we can go to the meadow so you can pick flowers for Joel?"
"Okay, but if that doesn't help, promise me you'll hug him."
You sighed heavily and nodded your head.
At the stables, you were still thinking about what Teddy said. Maybe you should talk to Joel? He didn't really have anyone in Jackson except Tommy, Ellie, and Teddy... And you. He still had a strained relationship with his brother, and the children were hardly suitable for serious conversations. So everything was on you. And your two relationship has improved. When you saw him, you didn't just think about how badly he hurt you, but how he changed for the better.
You stopped brushing Jupiter for a moment and looked back to see your son, who was throwing straw into an empty stall. In fact, he lost most of the straw along the way, but he looked so cute. He wanted to help you, like his dad.
You were so lost in thought that you didn't notice that you were approaching to place where another horse had bitten Jupiter. The wound still hurt him, and though he was a nice horse, he reacted to pain like any other animal. He whinnied loudly and jumped up sharply. You managed to dodge the kick, but you staggered and stumbled. You hit your head on the post that was between the horse's boxes. It got dark before your eyes and the last thing you remember was your son's frightened scream.
*
Teddy knew he had to call for help. He ran out of the stable and began to run as fast as his little legs would allow him. However, he passed several people and did not stop. Even when someone tried to stop him. In his mind, only one person could save you.
"Joel!" he shouted as he saw a familiar figure.
Joel was just walking with Ellie to the dining room when he heard his son scream. He immediately turned around and knelt down to catch the kid who practically ran into him. He immediately noticed that the little boy was terrified.
"Teddy, what happened?"
He gently grabbed his shoulders and started looking for any injuries, but the baby boy seemed to be fine. Teddy struggled to catch his breath, tears streaming down his face.
"Mama," he finally choked out.
Joel was immediately overwhelmed by a wave of terror.
"What about mom?" He asked.
The boy barely spoke. "Ho… Horse... Kick" he said between sobs.
Joel didn't need any more. He looked at Ellie, who seemed as scared as Teddy.
"Stay with him. I'm running to her."
The girl nodded and grabbed the boy's hand as Joel ran to the stables.
*
When you woke up you felt a terrible headache. Your ears were ringing and your vision was blurred, but only one thing mattered to you. Your son.
"Teddy," you croaked.
You got up with difficulty. You felt like a newborn foal that couldn't catch its balance. You slowly took a step by step, sticking to the wall. As you were about to leave, Joel suddenly ran up to you. He grabbed your sides and held you tight.
"Y/N, what happened?"
You heard the worry in his voice.
"Jupiter got angry... I jumped back, but I think I hit my head on something hard... Where's Teddy?"
Joel stroked your cheek, then ran his hand over the back of your head and was relieved to see that there was no blood on his fingers.
"Teddy is with Ellie. He's fine. He's just scared."
As soon as you heard that, you felt your strength leave you. You stayed on your feet only because fear for your son was your motivation. Joel immediately lifted you up and said, "Okay. You need medical attention."
"No" you moaned and rested your head against his chest. "Just not Anderson."
Joel sighed. "Then what am I supposed to do?"
"Take me home and call Wanda. She used to be a nurse."
"Okay," he whispered and brushed his lips against your forehead, and you just closed your eyes.
*
An hour later you were in bed and listening to Wanda's instructions. Teddy was cuddling up to your side. He had stopped crying but was still very scared. Ellie was sitting on the edge of the bed looking at you with worried eyes. Joel stood next to Wanda and carefully listened to her.
"It's definitely a concussion. She should not move. Let her sleep a lot, rest, and drink plenty of water. Someone should stay with her overnight. If she starts vomiting, she may choke."
"I'm not going to vomit," you muttered. You were slightly annoyed that the woman was talking like you weren't in the room.
Joel just gave you an indulgent look and replied, "I'll keep an eye on her.”
When Wanda left, he came closer to you and stroked his son's head.
"Hey, 'bear cub', mum will be fine. Why don't you and Ellie go to the meadow and collect flowers for mommy?"
Teddy looked at you with those puppy eyes he inherited from his father.
"Will this help you, mommy?"
You nodded your head and he immediately jumped off the bed and grabbed Ellie's hand pulling her towards the exit. Joel was still staring at you.
"What?" you asked.
He bit his lip and muttered, "I was worried about you, I'm still worried about you... I don't know what I would do if something happened to you..."
You were surprised by his confession. You might even hug him if it weren't for the constant dizziness.
"I'll be fine and you don't have to do all this for me."
Joel stepped closer, knelt by the bed, and grabbed your hand.
"I'll take care of you and Teddy. I'll do whatever it takes to make you feel better."
You smiled slightly and nodded your head.
In the evening you were really surprised how well Joel handled the baby. You thought your boy would be very cranky after a day like this... And he was, but Joel made it. After he put his son to bed, he came back to you and sat in the armchair to watch you all night.
It was weird and embarrassing for you at first. You thought you wouldn't be able to fall asleep next to him, but his presence began to soothe you and you fell asleep.
*
Joel stretched out in an armchair and tilted his head back. He yawned and closed his eyes. He thought that nothing would happen if he took a nap for a while. Your sleep seemed restful. Before he could fall asleep he heard the patter of small feet and after a while, he felt Teddy climb into his lap. He opened his eyes and smiled softly.
"Hi, 'bear cub'."
The baby boy glanced towards the bed: "Mummy still sleeping?"
Joel combed the boy's curls. "It's night. She should sleep. Just like you."
The little one shook his head and looked at him, and despite the dim light, Joel could see traces of tears on the baby's cheeks.
"You were crying, baby. What happened?"
He pulled the boy to his chest and hugged him tightly.
"Will mommy die?"
Joel replied immediately. "No, 'bear cub'. Of course not. She'll be fine. That's why I'm here to make sure everything is okay."
Teddy nodded and murmured, "Tell me a story."
Joel frowned. "We have to go get the book."
"No," the little one moaned. "Your story."
"Oh. All right." He thought for a moment. "I'll tell you about the Boston Angel."
"That angel was pretty?"
Joel smiled and nodded. "It was basically she, and she was the most beautiful angel I've ever seen. She was also sweet and kind. Even though Boston wasn't a pretty place, she was always able to find something beautiful and show it to the children. She bent down to tie a little girl's shoes and gave food to the homeless dog, and she always smiled."
"And did she bake cookies like Mommy?"
"Yes. She was the perfect Angel, but she met the bad man." Joel sighed heavily. He didn't know why he made up this story about you two. He felt the little boy tugging at his shirt.
"And what did the bad man do?"
"He broke the angel's wings and made the angel sad."
"But why did he do it?"
"Because he forgot how to love and only remembered that losing someone you love hurts a lot. So instead of loving an angel, he preferred to hurt her." He stroked Teddy's curls. "But the angel managed to escape Boston, and then her wings grew back and became even more beautiful and stronger. So strong that they could carry her wherever she wanted."
Teddy yawned and asked, "And the bad man? Has he changed?"
Joel didn't know what to say. He hadn't expected such a question. He swallowed and replied, "He's tried hard to change and... I hope one day he'll be good and the Angel will see it."
You felt tears running down your cheeks. You woke up as soon as you heard your son's voice, but you were still tired and did not react. You knew Joel would take care of the boy. So you heard the whole story about Angel and you couldn't believe it. Joel thought you were asleep, so he didn't say all that just to win your favor.
There was silence and you guessed that Teddy had fallen asleep. You went back to sleep too.
*
Joel slowly got to his feet, holding gently the sleeping boy, but something was bothering him. The baby's body was too warm. He kissed the boy's forehead and wondered if you had a thermometer somewhere in the house. He gently placed the baby on the bed and carefully covered him with a blanket. He didn't even get out of the room before he heard a plaintive whine, "Joo."
He quickly returned to the baby and began to calm him down. "Shhh, I'll be right back."
The little one stretched out his arms towards him with another pitiful moan and began to cry. Joel sighed and took the boy in his arms, wrapping him in a blanket.
"It's okay 'bear cub'. Do you know where mom keeps the thermometer and medicine?"
The little one sobbed and pressed his face against dads shoulder, muttering, "Not sick."
Joel rolled his eyes. He realized that he had to fend for himself. And so he held the baby with one hand and searched the kitchen cupboards with the other. He found a thermometer, bandages, a hot water bottle, and medicines that he knew were not for children. He took the boy back to the room and took his temperature. He had a fever.
"Teddy, does your tummy hurt?"
"No," the boy moaned.
"And here?" he asked and touched the boy's chest.
"Only the head."
Joel frowned. He stroked the boy's back and said, "Stay here a minute. I'll check on mommy."
"NO!"
Teddy started crying and Joel panicked. He didn't want you to wake up. He quickly lifted his son and began to gently rock him in his arms and place kisses on his wet, hot cheeks.
"Shhh, shhh, 'bear cub', it's okay. We'll go to mom together, but you have to promise me you'll be quiet. Okay?"
The little one whined and nodded his head. Joel breathed a sigh of relief, though he knew he had a rough night ahead of him.
He carefully looked at you and was relieved to see that you were still asleep. By this time, the boy had already fallen asleep and Joel was able to put him to bed.
And so for the next hour, Joel wandered between your room and Teddy's room. Unfortunately, the boy woke up again and started crying.
"I want water," he sobbed.
"I'll bring you."
"Do not go!"
Joel sighed heavily and took the boy in his arms. The boy immediately clung to his body tightly. "We will go together."
Unfortunately, the boy was very moody. When he saw the blue cup of water, he wailed loudly and Joel started to panic. He didn't know what had happened and tried to calm him down.
"It's okay... Shhh, tell me what happened? Teddy, baby, 'bear cub'..."
And as if he didn't have enough problems, You walked into the kitchen. You heard your son cry and your maternal instinct was stronger than your dizziness. You staggered into the doorway and grabbed the doorframe with difficulty.
"Y/N" Joel gasped and immediately started walking towards you.
He wrapped his free arm tightly around your waist while the other still held Teddy, who was crying in his ear. Joel led you to a chair and carefully sat you down. He started rocking your son and you looked at the blue mug on the table and said, "He doesn't like that color. You have to give him a red one."
Joel breathed a sigh of relief and quickly grabbed the red cup. Teddy finally calmed down, drank some water, and fell asleep in dad's arms, but his behavior made you uneasy. You knew that such trivial things as the color of the mug only made him cry when he was ill.
"Joel, does he have a fever?"
The man reluctantly nodded. He didn't want to worry you, but he couldn't lie to you.
"He has a fever and a headache, but otherwise he's fine. He doesn't cough, he doesn't have a runny nose. I've been looking for some medicine for him, but I haven't found anything."
You sighed heavily. "They're over. I was going to go to Anderson's, but... You know."
"I know. If he's not better by morning, I'll go with him to that asshole."
You looked at him scared. "No... I can't do it."
He came closer to you. "Hey, I said I'll go. You will stay. Everything will be fine. I'll take care of everything and now I'll put the little one to bed and come back for you."
"Put him in my bed. I want him close and try to put cold compresses on him to bring down the fever."
Joel nodded and did as you said. He put Teddy in your bed and then came back for you. He wrapped his arms around you to take all your weight. Once you were in bed, he returned to the kitchen and fetched a bowl of cold water and a small kitchen towel. You watched as he knelt by the bed and gently touched Teddy's forehead.
"You have to change the water in a while."
"I know," he said and smiled slightly at you. "Don't worry. I'll be here all the time."
You sighed and closed your eyes. You carefully cuddled up to your little one and hoped that the baby boy would recover by the morning.
Unfortunately, Teddy still had a fever in the morning, like you, he didn't like the idea of visiting Anderson. He cuddled up to you and looked at Joel like he were a traitor. The man reached out to him, but the toddler consistently ignored him.
"Come on, 'bear cub', everything will be fine."
Ellie, who had already come to you, also tried to help. "Teddy, the doctor will just examine you. I and Joel will be with you."
You knew you had to intervene. You gently pushed him away from you and kissed his nose. "Honey, you know Joel will always protect you. Go with them. Mommy needs to stay in bed."
The little boy finally nodded and let Joel take him in his arms.
"Bunny" he sadly whined.
Joel kissed him on the head. "We're going to get your bunny."
After they left, you looked at the teenage girl. "Ellie, make sure he doesn't do something stupid. And I'm not talking about Teddy.”
The girl shrugged. "Okay, but I'm not promising anything."
You fell back on the pillows and closed your eyes. Your head was still spinning and you knew you had to rely on Joel.
*
The atmosphere in Anderson's office was so thick that could have cut it with a knife. The two men stared at each other with pure hatred. Eventually, Ellie intervened. She grunted loudly and muttered, "I don't know about you, but I don't want to spend all day here."
The doctor snorted. "Put him on the table. I'll listen to his lungs."
Teddy immediately moaned plaintively as he was separated from his dad's body. Joel looked at him sympathetically. He kissed his forehead and whispered, "It will only take a moment."
Teddy hugged the stuffed bunny tightly to him. Anderson looked at the little boy irritably and hissed, "Should I examine him or the stuffed animal?"
Joel clenched his jaw. He felt his head start to ache. He'd had a really rough night and was losing his patience with this prick. He carefully took the toy out of his son's hands and tenderly said, "Ellie will take care of your bunny for a while."
Tears welled up in Teddy's eyes, but he nodded and watched as Ellie gently hugged his toy. Meanwhile, Anderson, without any warning, pulled the boy's T-shirt up and held the cold stethoscope to the child's body. Teddy squeaked and jumped. Only Joel's quick reaction saved him from falling off the table.
"What are you doing?" he growled.
Anderson shrugged. "It's not my fault he's as weak as his mother."
And that was enough. Joel handed the boy into Ellie's arms and gently pushed her towards the door. "Wait with him in the corridor."
Ellie nodded her head. She herself was furious with this asshole.
As she disappeared through the door, Anderson hissed, "What, are you going to break my nose again?"
Joel smiled in a way that made Anderson uneasy and he took a step back. Joel pulled a knife from his belt and lunged for the doctor. He pushed him into the chair and with one hand squeezed his throat so that the man couldn't scream.
"No, I'll do something much worse to you," he growled from the back of his throat. "Now listen to me carefully. You will treat my son as your most valuable patient."
Anderson's eyes widened in shock. "Teddy, this is your..."
Joel laughed. "Yeah, and you'd better think it over." He slid the knife into the doctor's crotch. "You have body parts that are not needed. Without them, you'll still be useful."
Anderson swallowed and nodded. "I will be gentle..." he squeaked.
Joel nodded. "All right."
He opened the door and took the boy in his arms. He smiled and kissed him on the head. "Come 'bear cub', Mr. Anderson will be very nice now and apologize to you for hurting you."
He looked at the doctor suggestively, and the man nodded. "I'm sorry Teddy." He started heating the stethoscope and said, "He can stay in your arms while I examine him."
The rest of the examination went smoothly and Anderson was kind and gentle. When he had finished, he said, "Everything seems fine. Did something stress him out?"
Joel frowned. He wasn't sure if Anderson didn't know about your accident or if he was pretending. "Yes. He had a lot of stress yesterday."
The doctor nodded. "This fever, it could be a stress reaction or a mild cold. I'll give you pills, for him. Give him half now, half tonight, and half tomorrow morning. The fever should go down."
*
When they got home, Joel told you how the doctor's visit went. Of course, he skipped the part about the knife threat but you guessed something had happened when your son said, "Mr. Anderson was a bit rude, but then Ellie and I left and when we came back, he was already nice."
You looked suggestively at Joel, and he tried to avoid your gaze at all costs. Then you shot a disappointed look at Ellie. "You were supposed to keep an eye on him."
Ellie shrugged. "This as..." Joel grunted significantly. "This fool, he deserved it."
You shook your head and hugged your son as he began to fall asleep. You didn't really care what Joel did. All that mattered was that he got Teddy's medicine.
*
After three days, you finally felt fine. You weren't dizzy anymore and you didn't lose your balance. Your son's fever has also stopped. It was evening when you got up and decided to eat something. There was an unusual silence in the house. It was still early, but Teddy was already asleep, tired from the impressions of the last few days. But where was Joel? He took care of you all the time and you were impressed with how well he handled everything.
You walked into the living room and saw him sleeping on your couch. He looked so peaceful and you didn't have the heart to be mad at him for falling asleep in your house. You guessed he was dead tired after two nights of watching over you and Teddy. Plus, you knew your sweet little son turned into a little monster when he was sick. One minute he wanted juice, the next he was spitting it out and crying that he didn't want juice. And maybe he got it from you. Well, maybe, just maybe, you had Joel bring you a glass of cold water, and after five minutes you decided it was too cold and asked him for hot tea. And he, without whining, without a grimace on his face, obediently went to the kitchen. So yes, he had a right to be tired. You grabbed a blanket from the armchair and gently covered him. Then you crouched down at his face and felt that old sentiment. Joel's hair always looked as soft and fluffy, as your son's. Made to be combed with your fingers. And before you could stop yourself, your fingers had already sunk into his gray curls.
Joel blinked his eyes and you quickly pulled your hand away. He looked at you and started to move, but he was very clumsy.
"Sorry... I'll be up in a minute," he mumbled.
You shook your head, put your hand on his shoulder, and said, "You deserve to rest, sleep."
You saw how tired he was and that he was still half asleep, so when he spoke you weren't sure if he was aware of it.
"I wish I could have looked after you while you were pregnant."
You sighed heavily and understood. That's why he was sad. He wasn't jealous at all that Maria was pregnant. He was sorry because it reminded him of what he had lost and made him feel guilty.
"You're taking care of us now. That's enough," you whispered.
You ran your hand through his hair again and he closed his eyes and purred like a cat. A slight smile appeared on his face, and you thought maybe your son was right. Your touch really made Joel stop being sad.
Tumblr media
A/N: Okay, so yeah, I messed up the timelines about Maria's pregnancy. I just forgot to mention it before, and it suited me perfectly here. Doctor Google told me that children can have fevers because of stress.

To Shitty Days and Shitty Families
Summary: Javier Peña x Fe!Reader - Your parents come to Columbia to visit you at work only they seem to be more interested in your personal life than they do your work.
Disclaimer: Shitty families, patriarchy I suppose. Swearing, angst, ideology that women are only fit for marriage- reader argues against this point. Reader stands up for herself, Javi talks with her folks when she leaves.
Tumblr media
You had been dreading it all day since first listening to your answering machine that morning. And everyone could see it in you. Steve had taken one look at you as he stood outside the complex kissing goodbye to Connie and knew something was wrong.
“You look like someone just shot you.” Connie added. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah. I’m fine. I-I’ll see you at work.”
By the time you pulled up to work, you spent half of the day bouncing your leg under the desk as you tried your best to fill out the usual paperwork and the only time you said what was going on, out loud, was when you were stood on the steps of the Embassy with Peña as he smoked his cigarettes. Despite you having a habit of removing them from him, he still continued to smoke.
“Who are you looking for? You look like Steve when he goes duck hunting.”
“My parents are coming.”
“To the Embassy.”
“The Embassy, Columbia. Here. Wherever.”
“And you’re worried because…”
“Because they haven’t talked to me in almost three years and now are coming to Columbia.”
“That’s nice.”
“No. No it’s not.”
Peña nodded. “Okay.”
“If you see a cab pull up, shout for me, okay?”
“Sure.” Peña could see the worry in your eyes as you searched the parking lot once more before turning around and heading back inside.
Only, Peña wasn’t outside when they turned up. So, instead, they walked inside, found your desk and stood there, examining the mess and tutting.
“She could never keep anything tidy. Always messy. Always the family mess.”
“Can I help you?” Steve asked as he approached.
Somehow, from the time it took you walking from the evidence room after hearing the familiar click of heels to reaching your desk, your mother had already seemed to have painted herself a saint to Murphy and Peña.
“Where is she anyway? You know, she could never keep time in high school, either. Always marked late.”
Both Peña and Murphy highly doubted that since you were always early - to everything. Hell, you’d get into work an hour earlier than them. But, they decided not to question your mother who already seemed distracted in scanning your entire body with her eyes making you suddenly aware of your skin and one of the many reasons why you were glad you left the states.
Your mother awkwardly moved in to hug you, making the whole thing a clear spectacle for onlookers. “You’ve gotten thicker, dear.”
“Mom.”
“Oh, just a jest, dear. Just a jest.” your mother laughed. “I’ve just met your bosses.”
“They’re not my bosses, mom. They’re my partners.”
“Oh.” That seemed to be the first shock to your mom. “Well, they’re handsome all the same and since you all seem to be friends, I’ve invited them to dinner with us tonight. And you’ll be bringing your wife, no doubt Agent Murphy?”
Steve nodded, though the look from you made him question if he should have said yes.
“Wouldn’t miss meeting your parents for the world, Agent.” Steve smiled at you.
“I’ve left you a note on your desk on where to meet us. If you can find it amongst this mess. And 7 o’clock sharp, dear. I know what you’re like for time keeping. It was nice to meet you boys. See you all soon.”
You wanted the ground to swallow you whole and take you to Hell now.
Far too soon for your liking, 7 o’clock rolled around.
Murphy and Connie were already there with your parents, sat in the very back of the restaurant, glasses of wine just poured. Peña must have only just arrived as he was still standing and seemed a little out of breath as he made his way round, kissing your mother’s cheek, Connie’s and shaking your father’s hand whilst he shook Steve’s shoulder.
“Late again, I see.” your mother said as you finally reached the table.
“By two minutes, mom. I had to find parking.”
“Never mind, you’re here now, finally.” Your mom seemed to stress the word ‘finally’ before turning to Steve and Connie. “Shall we order? I know it takes my daughter a while to choose what she wants. She’s always been like that with her life.”
You tried your best to keep your breathing steady. “Mom.”
“What?” your mother laughed. “Oh, I’m just joking, honey. You know that.”
You looked to your napkin covered plate, trying to subtly take in deep breaths. “You okay?”
You looked to your left as leaned into Peña who, for the first time in a while, seemed…concerned. You faked a smile as best as you could. “I’m fine.”
“So, Peña.”
“Javi, please.”
“Javi.” your mother smiled. “You’re working with Steve to catch Escobar? Oh, that must be so dangerous. But, I’m sure someone like yourself is able to handle it.”
“He works with me, too, mom.” you pointed out only, she seemed to ignore that.
Javi looked at you for a quick moment before turning back to your mother. “It’s dangerous for anyone being an American in Columbia.”
From across the table, Connie shot you a look which, in total honesty, you didn’t fully know if you returned it. All you wanted to do was get over this meal and go home.
“I am famished.” Connie announced. “What are we all eating?” she scanned her eyes over the menu and you tried your best to thank her telepathically across the table.
“Well, I’m sure my daughter is still deciding.”
“Actually, I know what I want, mom.”
“Oh, well…that’s a change.”
By the time the waiter came around and took your order, your mother trying to order and loudly shouting Spanish in a very clear American accent, you were ready to leave.
You gave your order, your voice at a normal decibel, your Spanish rolling off the tongue, your mother looked to you slowly. “No need to show off, dear.”
“I wasn’t-”
“Darling, just because your mother doesn’t have the best Spanish, doesn’t mean you should make her look stupid.”
“What? I-”
Before you could even think about finishing your sentence, your mother turned to Connie. “Constance, dear.”
“Please, call me Connie.”
“Of course, honey.” your mother smiled. “Tell me, what is married life like? I remember when I married my dear, dear husband. Oh, I was so happy.”
Your mother continued to ramble about her wedding day - a story you had heard every day of your life before you left to join the DEA in Columbia. Meanwhile, you took a large gulp of your wine trying to convince yourself it was whiskey from Peña’s desk drawer and instead of being sat in a candle-lit restaurant, you were back at your desk, drowning in work files all the while the alcohol burned your throat.
“I think I’m gonna be sick,” you whispered under your breath and in return you felt Peña’s hand lay itself on your thigh.
“Just give me a signal and I’ll get us all out of here. I think Steve is about to throw himself out of the door.”
“I wouldn’t blame him.”
Peña smiled at you before turning back to the rest of the table where you found your mother still talking.
“Oh, and when my Rosie got married? Oh, that was the happiest day of my life!”
“Thanks, mom.”
“Oh, dear, you know what I mean.”
“It’s not kind to poke fun at your mother, darling.” your father added.
“But it was. It was the happiest day of my life seeing my darling daughter get married and have a good, strapping man on her arm.”
“There’s more to life than just getting married, mom.” This has been your argument your entire life. Your mother always wanted you to get married and the day you said you were leaving for Columbia instead of announcing your engagement to your now ex-boyfriend…that was a long day.
“Don’t argue with your mother, darling.”
You took another deep breath and another gulp of wine.
“Don’t drink too much, dear. We wouldn’t want you to embarrass the family anymore.”
It was still your first glass. And it, somehow, miraculously, remained half full.
“I’m sorry?”
“Oh, look, here comes the food.” Connie announced as the waiter approached.
Thankfully, this deterred the conversation for fifteen minutes whilst the waiter handed the correct dishes to each person. Your mother thanked them rather loudly once more.
“Mom, they’re not deaf. You don’t have to yell.”
Your father called your name. “Don’t be rude to your mother.” he scolded.
“Oh, no, dear. Don’t worry. She’s just on one tonight.” your mother replied before sitting back down and looking at your plate in disgust. “Are you really going to eat all of that?”
It was a normal sized bowl with chicken soup and bread. Except, the way your mother spoke to you made it sound as if the bowl was a sharing size and was filled with nothing but crap.
“You know, I could have ordered for you.”
“I don’t want salad, mother.”
“Well, forgive me for trying to look out for the well-being of my child.”
“Why don’t you just focus on yourself and Rosie and I’ll be completely fine.”
It was now that your mother looked to Connie, Steve and Javi. “I am so sorry about her. She gets like this sometimes. I told her, if she married the man she had, she wouldn’t be this uptight and worried.”
“I didn’t want to marry Daniel, mom. You know that.”
“I understand you like to rebel against me and make me out as the bad guy, y/n. But, one day, you will realise I’m just doing what is best for you.”
“Best for me or best for you, mom?”
“Now, what exactly are you excusing me for, dear?”
“Darling, don’t pick a fight here. I understand you like to make a scene but-”
“Make a scene?”
“She was always dramatic as a kid,” your mother explained to the rest of the table.
“Mom, please don’t talk about me as if I’m not here.”
“See,” your mother tried to point out. “Even at Rosie’s wedding, she tried to stop it.”
“Because she wasn’t sure if she wanted to get married!” you raised your voice a little.
“But she did! And now she had two beautiful little children and a wonderful home and a caring husband. Don’t shout at me just because you wanted her life. Because you could have had it.”
“You think I want her life? Sat at home looking after two children whilst her husband flies from state to state and barely knows his own children?”
“Maybe we should-” Connie went to stand but your mother put her hand out to her.
“No, dear, please, sit down.” your mother smiled. “She’s just annoyed that her life isn’t how she thought it would be.”
“I didn’t want to marry him, mom.” you repeated. “Can you hear me?”
“Just eat your soup, dear.” your mother scolded. “There is no need to embarrass me any further.”
“Your mother is right, darling. Why don’t you eat your soup? If you're not happy with it, your mother will happily order you a salad.”
“I said I didn’t want a salad.”
“Remember dear, a moment on the lips, forever on the hips.” one of your mother’s favourite quotes. “And from here I can already see some of the fat building. You know you’ll never get a husband looking like that or doing what you do.”
“I don’t want a husband!” you yelled. “I didn’t want to marry Danny or stay in America. You! You wanted me married off so you could brag to your friends that your daughters got married before Carrie’s. You’d rather have me marry someone I never loved, someone who would rather sleep with every woman on legs in the whole fucking city, including the darling daughters of your friends, than have me join the police academy and come to Columbia.”
“Dear, lower your voice. People are staring!” your mother scolded through gritted teeth.
“I did something with my life, mom.” you pointed out. “Any parent would be proud if they’re kid was happy. But no, not you. You’d only be happy if I lived by your rules and followed your footsteps to a life of complete fucking boredom.”
“You should watch your mouth, young lady.” your mother warned. “No one wants a woman who has a mouth like you.”
All you could do was let out a laugh whilst holding back your anger as best as you could. “You know what, mom. I-I can’t do this. Just…just go home. Tell Rosie I’m alive or tell her nothing. I wouldn’t want to be an embarrassment to you anymore than I already have. Sorry, guys.”
You apologised quickly to your teammates before you threw your napkin onto the table and grabbed your jacket. You laid a couple bills on the table before walking away. The waiter must have watched the whole thing because, as you made your way to the exit, he gave you a bittersweet smile.
“I’ll wrap your food up and have Popsy send it over.”
“That’s alright,” you replied. “I’m not hungry anymore.”
With that, you left the restaurant and headed to your car before driving away.  Meanwhile, back at the table, Steve, Connie and Javi all sat in shock. You never revealed much about your family but whatever they had just witnessed was the last thing they thought they’d ever expect. Even as it happened, none of them could comprehend it.
“On that note, we’re going to take off.” Steve announced standing up before asking the waiter if they could have the rest of their food packed to-go. However, Javi remained seated. Connie leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before Steve shook his hand and they both left with the brown bag in their hand.
“I’m-”
“You should be proud of her, you know.” Javi said before confirming your name so they knew 100% completely who he was talking about. “Before she came down here, we weren’t really getting anywhere. But within days of her arrival, she had most of that place in order. We caught plenty of people and stopped a £3 billion worth shipment of coke from getting into the states because of her.”
“She gets that from me.” your mother said, but Javi just…smiled.
“Maybe. But I highly doubt it.” your mother’s face dropped and your father was about to argue back, but Javi cut him short. “Who she is…that can’t be taught. That’s learned, from first hand experience. Sure, she’s not married, but she is respected. But a shit ton of people. Hell, if she tells the Ambassador not to do something, they listen to her. Because she’s good at her job. Just because she’s not you, does not give you the right to see her as nothing more than a problem to be solved or an embarrassment. She’s not lucky to have you two as parents, but you are lucky to have her. To be able to call her and talk to her and know her. Don’t take her for granted because sooner or later, you won’t even have the privilege of calling her your daughter.”
“Are you threatening us, son?”
“No.” Javi shook his head, standing. “I’m saying if I was her, I would have dropped you years ago. Instead, you get to call her your daughter. But I doubt even now that you have that opportunity. Like she said, there’s more to life than getting married. And she’s living proof of that. Don’t ignore her like I expect you have been doing her whole life, just because she’s not the living poster girl of your planned out life.”
With that, Javi laid his own share of the bill on the table before walking outside, lighting a cigarette and walking to his car. He doubted you would have gone home in case your mother came looking for you to yell at you some more. And he was right in his thinking because, as he did a tour of the Embassy parking lot, he found your car parked alone. He parked a couple spots down from you before squashing the smoke under his shoe and walking inside. From there, he found you sat at your desk no longer dressed in the dinner dress but rather a pair of black trousers and a black shirt. So, you’d been at the gun range. He could see the oiled cuticles of your fingers as you reached for your disposable coffee cup. The hair that had rested in soft curls was now thrown up into a messy ponytail that held itself up under the command of your bobble.
What he guessed was that through stress, some of the hairs had fallen from your head and haphazardly framed your face under the orange light of your desk lamp.
On your desk, he could see the soft trail of smoke from a cigarette. You weren’t a smoker. Hell, you’d pulled enough cigarettes, both lit and unlit, from his own lips before to stop him from smoking. So, when you didn’t do it that morning as he stood beside you on the steps of the Embassy, that should have been his first warning about how bad the day would go.
Though he couldn’t blame you. If he were you, he probably would have gone through 2 packs of cigarettes by now.
He watched you as you took a long drag from the cigarette, letting the smoke fill your lungs until they were over spilling. Even then, you took in some more air as you moved it away from your lips, letting it rest lazily between your two fingers as you rested the rest of your head against your hand.
Slowly, you let the smoke release itself from your lungs before you took another deep breath of fresh air this time, and opened your eyes.
“Don’t judge me.” you told Javi when you spotted him standing at the steps of the office. But, he just smiled and walked closer, going first to his desk, before bringing his bottle of whiskey and two glasses with him to your desk.
“Oh, no judgement here.” Javi told you before sitting down across from you and pouring a decent amount of liquor into each glass.
Handing you one, you thanked him. “To shitty days.”
“And shitty families.” you laughed before clinking the glass together and taking a rather large gulp and letting it burn your insides as it made its way down.
Javi sat back in silence for a few moments watching you. “How are you feeling?”
“I don’t know.” you answered honestly. “Part of me wants to scream, the other wants to cry and the rest…just is thankful it’s over.”
“Have they always been like that?”
“My whole life.” you said. “Rosie was their perfect little girl. Always listened. Did everything without question. Danced perfect ballet at her recitals. Would always sing beautifully and could quote Shakespeare off the cuff.”
Javi furrowed his brows. “I’ve heard you speak Shakespeare. English and Spanish. You put the local production to shame.”
You narrowed your eyes a little, “Not as well as Rosie.”.
Taking another drink, you mirrored Javi by leaning back in your own chair. “God, I remember being so jealous of her as a kid. She was always the teacher’s favourite. She could never put a foot wrong. I’d make one spelling mistake in my English essay in 5th grade and they called in my parents telling them I was distracted. That I was slipping from my education. My mother grounded me for a month and gave me a lecture every day about how Rosie was this perfect child and why couldn’t I be the same? You know, I never got into trouble at school. I got good grades, I listened to all of my teachers, I even won the local baking competition.”
“You bake?”
You smiled. “I bake. I entered it without my mom’s permission and got my teacher to sign off on it. But, God, you should have seen the look on all the parent’s faces. “She only won because they feel sorry for her.”, and then the kids started saying the same thing to me at school. The only time where I wasn’t compared to my sister was in the Academy. It was the first time I felt I belonged somewhere.”
You took another deep breath, “Jesus, you don’t want to hear about this.”
But Javi shook his head. “No. Continue.”
You looked in his eyes for a moment, seeing if he was being serious. And, once you realised he was, you slowly sat back again and continued.
“So, you joined the academy?” Javi asked, helping you pick up where you left off.
You nodded a small thanks and continued. “I joined the Academy and,” you laughed a little, “when my mom found out, she went ballistic. God, it was like I shot her puppy. Or Rosie, godforbid. So you can imagine, when I turned up one afternoon and told her I was moving to Columbia instead of going house hunting with Danny, - who I had broken up with, by the way, six months earlier - you can imagine how she took it. Said I was just jealous and running away because my sister was getting married. That I just wanted the spotlight for myself but the biggest thing was…I didn’t. I just wanted to disappear. I didn’t want people’s eyes on me or have a spotlight on my name. Any time it was, it was always because I was a disgrace to the family name. That I wasn’t Rosie. But…on her wedding day, I realised….I realised I wasn’t jealous of her. In fact, when she came and found me and asked me if she was doing the right thing…I felt sorry for her. But that didn’t last long because at the drop of a hat, when I said she didn’t have to marry him, that she could come with me or I could get her a plane ticket to wherever she wanted, she accused me of wanting to ruin her wedding and her life. That I was jealous of her because I couldn’t find someone to love me the way her husband does her. And, that mom was right. That I would never find anyone because what person in their right mind would want to love someone like me.”
There was other stuff that you didn’t mention to Javi, about what else your sister had said and what your mother clearly agreed with. But, after the meal tonight, he could take a pretty good guess.
“So, what did you do?”
You took a breath, forcing the tears back into your eyes. “I did what she asked for that day. I sat out of the wedding. Sat at the back. Stayed out of everyone’s way to avoid ruining her wedding. And halfway through the reception, I left. I didn’t even say goodbye. I thought about it, but I knew they wouldn’t have cared. They were in their own happy little world that didn’t need or even want me. So, I grabbed my bags, hailed a cab and got on the first flight into Columbia.”
“So, when you landed-”
“2 hours later, I was here starting work.” you confirmed.
“Did anyone know?”
“No.” you said, sitting back up and laying your glass on your desk. “Until a couple hours ago, no-one knew what my parents were like. I’m just…I’ll be glad when they’re back in the states. They didn’t even tell me they were coming and I woke up at 4 on the dot. I didn’t know why. I never usually do and then, an hour later, she left a message on my machine saying she was getting on her second flight and that she’s already arranged to have a cab pick her up from the airport since she knows that I’d probably still be in bed - the last time I was in bed past 8 o’clock I was on a flight to Miami.”
After a while of talking with Peña as he asked you questions about your childhood, he looked at the clock that read a quarter to midnight. “Come on, we better go home.”
“Javier Peña, in bed before 2 am? Is the world truly falling apart?”
Javi smiled at you, grabbing your jacket for you. “Come on, I’ll drive us home.”
“But you’ve had a drink-”
“I’m still under the limit.” Javi assured you. “Come on, let's go.”
By the time Javi pulled up outside of your apartment block, he locked his car behind him before you both went off in separate directions to your own apartments.
“Peña?”
He looked back from his door.
“Thank you, for today. It meant a lot, seriously.”
Javi smiled at you before unlocking his door and opening it up. “Anything for you, hermosa. Goodnight.”
“Night,” you smiled back before entering your own home and closing the door behind you.

°What was supposed to be a new school year like any other was for the artist one that changed his whole life. Since he was on the school grounds, the rumour about Wednesday, a serial killer and creepy new girl, had spread around the school. But when another car parked next to the black old one, his eyes settled on it.
°When the passenger door opened he saw you and as if he was completely blind he saw only you. My muse he thought and his hand closed tighter around the stone railing from where he watched the students. Saw the sun illuminate you in just the right light. Saw your smile as you hugged your mother, as you spoke to her and let your gaze wander over the academy.
°Everything about you drew him in like a drug. Everything about you, whether it was your look, your voice, your body, your being, everything about you was the most beautiful and precious thing he had in his shattered world. And he would be the first to claim you. He would be the only one after all this time he had finally found his muse.
°He watched you say goodbye to your mother before grabbing your bag and suitcase and heading for the school entrance. Hastily he pushed himself off the railing and made his way to you. You were looking at the courtyard when you heard a voice next to you. ,,Pretty old, isn't it?" he said and his green-brown eyes went to yours. He could have got lost in your gaze.
°You were only more beautiful and flawless than from afar. He felt his fingers close around the pencil in his jacket pocket. He felt how he wanted to be even closer to you. He felt how he wanted to paint you, to explore more of you. He had never felt anything like this before, but this attraction seemed to give his life meaning.
°He saw you watching him for a moment and he would be lying if he said he didn't like it. ,,Yeah right but I kinda like it...I'm Y/n King" she introduced herself and held her hand out to him. His heart beat faster. He had only known you for about five minutes and already you seemed to want him as much as he wanted you. He returned the gesture and felt your warm soft skin under his fingers. ,,I'm Xavier. Xavier Thorpe" he replied and saw the small birthmark on your middle finger and wondered if you had more of them on your body.
°How would you look under that uniform? His thoughts ran amok as he went from one erotic pose to another. You needed to model for him, he needed to hold you. Needed you on his canvas. How would you react to that? Anticipation arose inside him before he offered to show you around. And you agreed. But all the time his eyes were on you, taking in everything they got.
°As he continued to lead you around the academy, holding on to your emotions. How you looked amazed or even completely fascinated at the old tree in the middle of the playground. Before you stopped in front of its picture with the ravens. ,,That's beautiful" he heard her say and saw her fingers tracing the picture a few centimetres from the wall. You are perfect he thought and he felt his heart beat faster when he saw how her eyes seemed to admire his art with fascination.
°He stepped closer to her before placing his hand over hers, cautiously, to test if she would let him. But she did, looking at him curiously and slightly confused. ,,I drew this...here look" he said calmly before using his powers to make the birds fly. Before he moved his hand and asked her to hold out her finger. ,,Wow, Xavier, that's incredibly beautiful!" she exclaimed in fascination as she watched him guide the raven onto her finger.
°The artist let the bird nestle against her hand before slowly directing the drawing back to the wall. ,,I'm glad you like it," he said, unable to hide the slight blush that crept into his cheeks. She looked at the picture one last time before he escorted her to her room. ,,Thanks again Xavier" and was about to close the door when she seemed to consider. ,,Wait a minute," she said hastily before taking out a small writing pad and grabbing a pen.
°Xavier watched her write something down before she blew on the paper and the leaves spun faster than they should have before the paper formed a flower. ,,Here's a little thank you...you're not the only one who can create something beautiful" she said with a wink and handed him the flower that blossomed in his hand. You are the flower...blossoming beautiful at my side he thought and carefully and gently stroked the single paper blossoms that slowly turned to a dark purple. You had a wonderful gift, he found. You were a muse and an artist at the same time.
°He thanked you before going back to his own room where he placed the flower on his desk. His fingers slowly stroked over the blossoms and he wandered dreamily in his thoughts to you. She understands me...she gives me what I need he thought and decided to think of a plan. Something that would bring him closer to you. He needed-no, he desired-more of you. More of your personality, more of your praise, more of your body. More of your inspiration. More of the calm you had on him.
°A few days passed in which not only the new school year began but in which he continued to observe you. He painted whenever he could, giving himself as many facts and rumours as he could get from Enid while disappearing more and more often into his little studio. At night to protect the darkness. The darkness that left him alone with his imagination. But the more he drew you, the more he took you out of the picture and touched you. The more his greed for you seemed to increase.
°Whenever he touched his drawing, his emotions ran away with him. They were too strong for him to concentrate on the painting, which caused you to dissolve into colour. ,,Don't worry...I'll get you eventually" he murmured as he looked back at the painting. Where you were looking under a tree and smiling at him while in your hand was your notepad.
°As he looked at the centrepiece of his collection next to the endless paintings and drawings. A t-shirt of yours that you had left at the lake when you went swimming with Bianca and the other mermaids. It turned out you were a poor swimmer and wanted to improve your skills. He could still feel himself sitting as innocently as possible against a tree and pretending to enjoy nature.
°But the tug on his groin and the way his hands traced your body fibre-like in his sketchbook. When you were standing there in just your bikini, it almost drove him mad. The sun shone perfectly on you, making him see all the drops of water flowing over your skin. How they disappeared into your cleavage and ran down your belly. He wanted to touch himself, to pleasure himself. See if you would see him. See what you would do. Would you dump him...or even help him? A shaky sigh came over his lips and it took him some effort not to jump into the lake and swim to you as well.
°But he didn't, he kept his composure and continued to watch you for a while before he gave you a slight wave before he was sure that no one was watching you. As quickly as necessary he hurried to the t-shirt you had left behind and slipped into a bathrobe instead. That's how your property came into his possession. Just one of many things. And even though it was in the wooden shed, it still smelled of you. Sweet and fruity like a flower.
°A slight redness crept onto his cheeks as he thought of how many times he had jerked off with the T-shirt in his hand. How he had suppressed his moans, gasps and whimpers with the fabric. How often he had wished you would touch him like this. It was his goal to finally have you, his new work of art.
°And to achieve this he only had to lure you here and take what he wanted. Your whole being. His fingers gripped the brush in his hand tighter as he looked at the picture of you one last time and then at your shirt before he turned off the light bulb and closed the door behind him.

Kinktober Day 16
Day Sixteen: Whipping (Clint Barton x reader)
Tumblr media
Warnings: smut under the cut, nsfw, 18+, FemBodied, enthusiastic consent, talk about safe words, a little fluffy,
Minors DNI
Words: 473
“You sure about this babygirl?” Clint asks as he hits his palm lightly with the soft whip. She nods.
“Yes, for the like fifth time I’m sure.” She laughs slightly
“Now you remember what they said at that seminar… only proceed with enthusiastic consent.” He slightly teased in referenced to the ‘BDSM for couples’ seminar they had attended, half as a joke half out of curiosity.
“Okay well this is me enthusiastically consenting, so are we going to do this or?” she feels like she’s been on her hands and knees for five minutes at this point, her thin night gown pulled up over her hips exposing her butt wasn’t doing much to keep her warm as she looks over her shoulder at him expectantly.
“Right okay well let’s just…start light.” He says almost more to reassure himself more than her. He arches his arm and with a satisfying sound the soft leather hits her ass cheek and she lets out a satisfied gasp.
“Oh wow, okay” She says softly, if that was Clint going light…
“We still good?” He asks, looking at her slightly concerned.
“Unless I say the safe word, we’re still good.” She reminds him with a reassuring smile. He smiles back and nods. She makes an attempt to get comfortable getting down on her elbows and bracing herself. As he lets the whip come down on her again the sting brings slight tears to her eyes as she lets out a small yelp. It felt really good. She felt really good, this might be her favorite of the new things they had decided to try in the bedroom. The sound of the whip hitting her skin might be the best part for Clint, or maybe it was the way it left those red welts on her skin, he might have to try a few more times to decide.
The soft leather of the whip hitting her soft skin, again and again, it was surprising how something so soft left such a sting. Clint drags the soft tendrils of the whip across her welted skin, She lets out a small moan at the sensation, which caught Clint’s attention.
“That feel good babygirl?” He asks with a teasing tone.
“Mhm. yeah, please don’t stop.” She whimpers. He smiles at her and runs the soft leather over the marks on her ass again. She moans at the sensation again. He reaches out and touches one of the red marks gently, the raised skin under his fingertips was fascinating. He liked this. He really likes this. His hand drifts over her ass and lightly touches her over her underwear to find them soaked through.
“Mmm, Babygirl. You’re so wet already Hun.” He says with his tone thick with pleasure as he strokes her aching need.
“Fuck, Clint please…”
“Well that’s definitely enthusiastic consent.”

So ive recently been inlove with angst and especially with angst that involves death and i hope you know where I'm going with this.
I was thinking a STT (any character is good) x Reader with powers 002 and they sacrifice themselves for Eddie pushing him back in to the portal and cutting the rope and saving them and fights off vecnas saving max but then gets attacked by Vecna who ends up killing them but since they were already in the upside down the forth clock doesn't chime. Afterwards Eddie is blamed for the death by the others and who ever reader is paired with curses Eddie for not stopping them.
Title: It takes two to tango
Pairing: Steve x 002! Female Reader
Genre: ANGST/ a little fluff sprinkled at the end
Song(s): Mercy- Shawn Mendez, and Only love can hurt like this (Slowed)- Paloma Faith
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/n, Eddie, Steve, Dustin, Nancy, and Robin go into the Upside Down to find a way to stop Vecna from killing Max or harming the rest of the world. When they do, Y/n makes it her mission to save everyone, even if it means sacrificing herself to do so. When the other team has successfully defeated Vecna, Y/n gives Eddie one last smile before she pushes him through the portal and cuts the cloth rope.
Y/n pressed her back to her best friend, Eddie’s back. She held her spear in her hand and stared at the door as it shook from the force of the bats. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before turning around. “Eddie, we need to go. They are gonna break through any minute now.” Y/n whispered. Eddie looked back at her and tried to reason with her but she wasn’t having it. He watched as she started walking towards the gate. She turned and pointed with her spear towards the rope. Eddie walked towards the rope and turned to face Y/n. “You will be right behind me, right?” He asked. Y/n smiled and nodded her head and watched as he began climbing the rope. Dustin was screaming for the two of you to hurry. Y/n began climbing the rope when she noticed the door began to cave in.
She turned towards Eddie and raised her hand, pushing him the rest of the way into the portal. Eddie looked at her in disbelief before screaming at her when she cut the cloth rope they had set up. She gave them a weak smile before she turned towards the door and charged out of the room. Eddie was panicking. He and Dustin tried to figure out how to get back into the Upside Down to help her but they didn’t know what they could use. Eddie was currently trying to hold back tears as he tried to figure something out. “I can’t lose her Dustin. She’s like a sister to me.” He whimpered out as he began throwing things around.
Y/n hooked her spear to her back and took the bike laying on the ground and took off. The shirt she was wearing rolled up on her arm showing off the 002 tattooed on her wrist making her narrow her eyes. “Come and get me you freak!” She yelled at the bats. They screamed and took off after her. She could feel tears filling her eyes as she was leaving Steve, her boyfriend, Eddie; her best friend and brother, and Dustin behind. She rubbed at her eyes and continued to move.
Vecna could tell something was off with how the bats refused to listen to his call. He disappeared from the house before Steve and the others could get to him. He even withdrew from Max. The bats circled around Y/n as he walked towards them. “I’ve been waiting to see you again 2. Where have you been hiding all these years?” Vecna’s voice rang out. Y/n turned and faced the creature that had tried to kill her years ago.
“You know exactly where I have been.” She snarled, turning to face Vecna. Her heart was pounding harshly in her chest as she watched him move closer to her. “I would love to stay and chat but I have things to deal with right now.” Vecna said, turning to walk away. Only, Y/n wasn’t having it. She raised the spear in her hand and threw it at Vecna. It pierced him in the right shoulder from behind. He groaned in pain before ripping the spear from his shoulder and turning to face Y/n.
His eyes narrowed and as if on command, the bats swarmed around Y/n. She used the small excuse of telekinetic powers she had to fend them off. She flung bat after bat away from her but the bats were starting to be able to get close enough that they could bite onto her skin. One even managed to wrap its tail around her throat making her drop to the ground and try to get the tail off her throat. Vecna watched as she struggled before her breathing started to fade. He could see her body growing limp and he knew that she was dying. Her hands dropped from the tail and her eyes slowly closed, her heart slowly dying.
Vecna smiled wickedly and turned to start walking away, however, she watched as a homemade molotov slammed into his chest, catching him on fire. Another one was thrown, hitting in directly in the face. She could hear someone shooting wildly at him and you watched as he fell to the ground. She lifted her head up to see Nancy shooting a gun at Vecna making sure that he didn't get back up. Y/n looked over to see Steve racing over to her and ripping the bats from her throat. When she didn’t make a move to rub her throat, Steve began to grow worried.
I tell myself you don't mean a thing
And what we got, got no hold on me
But when you're not there I just crumble
I tell myself I don't care that much
But I feel like I die 'til I feel your touch
Only love, only love can hurt like this
Only love can hurt like this
Must have been a deadly kiss
Only love can hurt like this
Say I wouldn't care if you walked away
But every time you're there I'm begging you to stay
And when you come close I just tremble
And every time, every time you go
It's like a knife that cuts right to my soul
“Y/n? Hey love please wake up! Please!” He begged as he waited for her to respond to him. When he didn’t receive an answer, he maneuvered his body to the right position to pick her up in his arms. He could feel his lip wobble as they made their way back to the portal. Not at Eddie’s trailer. They went to the entrance from the lake. When they reached the entrance. Steve looked at Robin and Nancy before he and Y/n jumped into the portal. Robin was the last person to enter the portal back to Hawkins and when she surfaced the water, she could see Nancy, Steve, Eddie, Dustin and the others surrounding Y/n. When Robin made it closer to land, she could hear them arguing.
“It’s your fault Eddie! You were supposed to protect her!” -Lucas
“Why didn’t you make sure she went through the portal before you!” - Mike
“I can’t believe it Eddie! Why would you let her die! You should have been the last one to enter the portal!” Nancy.
“Eddie, How do you do this to her? I thought she was your best friend!” Robin
“ENOUGH!” Dustin yelled, making everyone jump.  “Eddie didn’t do the shit that you are accusing him of! He didn’t have a choice! She made him go before her. She was climbing the rope behind him when she made a mad dash for the door. She told us she was buying you three more times! Don’t you dare blame him for her death!” Dustin glared at all of them. “Dustin is right. I know my girl like the back of my hand and I KNOW for a fact that she damn well gave us more time. I felt a shift and Vecna was where she was.” Steve said, laying his head on Y/n’s stomach as tears flowed down his face.
Only love, only love can hurt like this
Only love can hurt like this
Must have been a deadly kiss
Only love can hurt like this
Only love can hurt like this
Your kisses burn into my skin
Only love can hurt like this
But it's the sweetest pain
Burning hot through my veins
Love is torture makes me more sure
Only love can hurt like this
Only love can hurt like this
Only love can hurt like this
Must have been a deadly kiss
Only love can hurt like this
Only love can hurt like this
Your kisses burn into my skin
Only love can hurt like this
Only love can hurt like this
Only love can hurt like this
Only love can hurt
Save me, save me
Only love, only love
'Cause only love can hurt like this
And it must have been a deadly kiss
Max and El moved closer to Steve, Eddie, Dustin, and Y/n. El simply nodded her head and held Y/n’s hand in hers. Max glared at everyone that stood around them. “I was Vecna’s target. The minute Vecna went to her, I was no longer his victim. He left me alone to fight with her. I don’t feel his threatening advances anymore. Y/n, freed me from his curse. How could you all be so cruel to Eddie? He wasn’t able to do anything before she forced him back to the portal.” Max continued on her with her tangent.
El’s eyes narrowed when she felt a sudden beat in Y/n’s wrist. She looked down at Y/n’s wrist before letting down and leaning her head against her chest. “Steve. Y/n needs a hospital.” El whispered as she looked around the lake for someone. When she spotted someone, she started screaming for them. The person ran down to see that they were surrounded by a teen girl that was shaking violently in their arms. “Please call the police. She didn’t have a pulse when I checked last and now she does.” El said.
They watched the person race back home. They turned to see El keep her ear against Y/n’s heart to make sure that it would continue to beat. A few minutes later, they could hear sirens as the ambulance pulled up to where they were at. The EMT raced over and started checking her pulse. He effortlessly picked her up and moved to the gurney that sat waiting. They got her situated onto it and got her in the ambulance. “Is there someone close to her?” The EMT asked as he looked around. Steve stepped forward. “I’m her boyfriend.” He said before pointing to Eddie, “And that’s her adoptive brother. Can we both go with you to the hospital?” He asked. The EMT nodded his head and gestured for them to get in.
{At the hospital}
Steve sat in the chair close to her bedside. They had her hooked up to wires and all types of machines but the one he paid attention to the most, was the heart monitor. He was scared that she would flatline again. “I’m sorry that I didn’t make her go before me. She would still be alive if I had just done that.” Eddie said from where he sat on the window ledge. Steve looked up and narrowed his eyes. “And have my girl risk losing her brother, no thanks. A couple nights ago, she told me that you and Wayne were the only family she had left. I bet you that is why she pushed you through.” Steve said, staring Eddie down.
Eddie opened his mouth to reply when they saw the blankets on the hospital bed move around. They both jumped up to see that Y/n was starting to open her eyes again. She moved to sit up as her eyes opened. She looked around and found her brother and boyfriend smiling down at her with tears in their eyes. She smiled and opened her arms for both of them. “I’m alive. I’m ok. You don’t need to worry anymore.” She whispered.
“So, how did you survive that attack?” Eddie asked. She smiled and turned to him. “Well, I’m a unique kid that went to the same place El went too. I had an ability that wasn’t like the other kids so it scared them bady. I can basically fake my death. I can force my heart to stop when I need to.” She whispered. Steve and Eddie looked at you before turning to face the door as it opened. Steve leaned forward and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “Glad to have you back with us.” He whispered. Eddie nodded to the sentence. She smiled and could feel tears welling up in her eyes.
“Good to be back.”

Hephaestus lay asleep on his side of the bed, snoring loudly. Meanwhile, Marinell had been staring at the ceiling, restless for what he will do, he turned to Hephaestus and reached out a hand. Marinell went to caress his cheek, then hesitated.
His thoughts spun and ran in his mind, he has had months of preparation. But would he ever be ready for it? No, he wouldn’t. However, Hephaestus and Euphrosyne will be safer if he did. Hephaestus was still healing from his wounds, not even Marinell’s healing abilities could help.
Marinell’s eyes welled up with tears, he pinched his nose and covered his mouth as he let out a shuddery breath. He knew that Hephaestus’s mental health would take a hit from this, but he knew that Euphrosyne would be his reason to keep on going. Throughout his pains, Hephaestus would not be one to give up. Especially on a child he had waited for for so long.
Marinell turned away, shutting his eyes and hoped the land of slumber would take him. For tomorrow at twilight’s shine, he will have to leave his family behind. He shan’t tell Hephaestus, for his love will persuade him. Marinell would become weak for him, giving in to his every whim. Perhaps Hephaestus hating him would make it a great deal easier, for all of them. Marinell knows that he will be a prisoner for his family, it hurts him that he may never see his daughter grow up. He may never age, but he will know that his loved ones will wither away upon the coming years. For Death shall ring Her tolls and guide them to the afterlife.
Marinell wishes to have more time with both of them, but the longer he goes, the more it’ll hurt. His daughter may never know him, but it is a comfort knowing that she will be safe from his family. They both will. Bearing punishment for them was worth it, even if he had to go through it twice over. Hephaestus already experienced much due to his curse. Marinell wasn’t much for praying to other deities, having only known his family would be there to give him anything… But for this? Marinell had pleaded and begged any one that may listen to his call, ‘Strengthen my husband, strengthen my daughter, protect them, I offer anything. I beg, I plead, I show upon any of thee that I am willing and able. Protect my husband from himself, protect him from wrongdoers or anything that may cause harm. I beg and plead a sorrowful song unto any who listens to me.’
He finished his prayers and started to slowly succumb to rest, Oneiros guiding Marinell slowly. As he almost stepped a foot into the land of Dreaming, a sharp cry rang in the air. Startling him and Hephaestus awake, Hephaestus sat up beside him. He then groaned and pressed his chest, massaging it as he heaved and wheezed just a bit.
Marinell swung his legs off the bed, he then rubbed his eyes. He blinked blearily as he stood, Hephaestus then made a noise of protest, he then spoke up “No no, cara mia. I can handle this. You’ve done enough yesterday, or is it still today? Whatever, you’re hogging Euphrosyne and that’s quite unfair, beloved.” Hephaestus walked to Marinell’s front, head leaning down a tad to meet his gaze. He raised a hand and rubbed Marinell’s cheek, pulling him in to kiss him. Marinell deepened the kiss, hands snaking their way behind Hephaestus’s neck. They slithered slowly and combed fingers into his hair.
The cries then became louder, Hephaestus pulled away while Marinell’s head spun at the lack of oxygen. Hephaestus pushed Marinell’s chest so that he sat on the bed, “Right, I’ll be back. Go to sleep, darling, you look like you need it. The princess awaits.” He chuckles as he walks out of the room. Marinell smiled sadly, no more days like this. No more kisses that fill his heart and soul, only the guilt and longing that will replace it. A void that would perhaps consume every fiber of his being.
Marinell finally let the dam break, an onslaught of tears fell, making it hard to see. He couldn’t anymore, the thought crashed heavily on him. Apathy could only hold the feeling off for so long. The lack of sleep pulled his emotions to overdrive, making it hurt all the more than it had when he numbed it down. He grasped at his heart, trying to make the hurt lessen. Marinell shoved his head into his pillow, taking in stuttering breaths. He calmed his breathing, following the patterns he was taught by Hephaestus. Deep breaths in, and deep breaths out. Marinell shut his eyes for the umpteenth time, clearing his throat. Might as well force his body to sleep…
*footstep*
*footstep*
*Creeee-ak*
Hephaestus stepped in with Euphrosyne in tow, he couldn’t resist bringing along the darling girl. She cooed softly in her sleep, Hephaestus rocked her gently. He looked to Marinell’s form on the bed, a calming feel washed over Hephaestus. He walked quietly as he could to bed, pulling up the covers and climbing in. He then settled Euphrosyne in between him and Marinell, placing a gentle kiss on her nose, to which she sneezed in response which made Hephaestus let out a small laugh, settling in and letting out a big sigh. Time for rest.
*the following day*
The sun rose and shone brightly, gleaming through the curtain. The beams glaring at Marinell, he squinted his eyes and let out a small sound. Covering his eyes from the harsh light, he turned and found the bed empty. His mind was still hazy from sleep, Marinell was confused, but not for long. For the sounds of singing and giggling had answered his question, it was followed by the sound of sizzling. Marinell grinned slightly, shaking his head as he stood up. Then he was struck by the thought of him leaving later, the smile swiped from his face as quickly as it had come.
Marinell took a breath in, willing himself to walk out the door. If this was their last day together, might as well make it special for them. Sweeten the betrayal before it befalls on them, this shall forever pierce their memories.
Marinell walked slowly to the kitchen, Hephaestus had his back turned to him. Euphrosyne sat on her high chair, gnawing on her chubby fist. A pink cap on her head, covering the wispy brown mixed with aquamarine. She grabbed her seashell rattle that sat in front of her, shaking it as wildly as she could. Hephaestus let out a laugh, “Careful with that, seashell, it just might fly out of your wee hand,”
As he uttered those words, Euphrosyne threw the rattle at the floor.
“Speaking of. You’re such a cheeky baby, Euphrosyne. What will me and your father ever do with you, my seashell?” Hephaestus turned and saw Marinell in the doorway, his arms were crossed as he looked upon his husband and child. Hephaestus arched a brow, picking up the seashell rattle and putting it in front of Euphrosyne who only picked it up, shaking it as wildly as she could once more. Hephaestus spread his arms, grasping at Marinell and hugged him. Hephaestus pulled his head back, “Good morning, cara mia. I’ve made us some breakfast. Your favorite, some fried potatoes and garlic fried shrimp. You deserve it for taking care of our little tulip.” He placed his forehead on Marinell’s, living in the moment. Euphrosyne squealed, making the two men laugh, Marinell spoke, “Alright, you noisy bub. C’mere.” Marinell walked over and plucked Euphrosyne out of her seat.
Hephaestus went back to cooking, throwing a tea towel over his shoulder and swiping at the beads of sweat that formed. Tossing the food around a bit before grabbing a plate, placing the food onto it. Marinell opened a window that overlooked the seashore, the sounds of the ocean waves and the seagulls filling their ears. The salty smell of the sea hitting his and Euphrosyne’s noses. Euphrosyne reached a hand out to the vibrant blue waves of the sea, as if it called to her.
Marinell was worried about it, but it was bound to happen. His connection to the sea would pass on to her, of course it would! Her fist clenched and unclenched, a tiny whine escaping her mouth. She looked at her father, pouting as her eyes watered. Marinell shook his head, “No, dear one. We can’t-”
“Sure, we can!” Hephaestus hugged Marinell from behind, kissing Euphrosyne’s chubby cheek. Euphrosyne slapped away Hephaestus, his beard especially unpleasant to her in the morning. As well as the fact that she is currently not getting what she wants.
“Oi, little missy, I’m on your side! How could you… My once loving daughter... Hurt me so much.” Hephaestus said dramatically, throwing his head back as he shut his eyes and placed the back of his hand on his forehead. Marinell let out a small laugh, kissing Euphrosyne’s other cheek. Her face was a tad rosy, as if embarrassed and upset. She burrowed herself into Marinell’s neck, a hand grasping tightly onto his tunic.
Hephaestus stepped back, “Guess we know who’s your favorite huh, sweetheart?” Euphrosyne merely thumbed the cloth of Marinell’s tunic, eyes still looking out the window. Hephaestus spoke once more, “Alright, settle her down, cara mia. We should eat and then go down by the beach. I have an off day from the library and Yelena has it handled for fishing. Family day out! I can finally spend some time with you lot.” He settled back on the counter, taking a drink from a mug of warm water with ginger in it. He gestured at the plate that was set on the table. A bowl of mashed up potatoes and a separate bowl of fruits sat on the table of Euphrosyne’s high chair.
“What about you, Heph? You should eat as well, you’re still recovering.” Marinell arched a brow, as of late, Hephaestus had begun to eat irregularly. Cutting back on certain meals and losing more weight than normal. His once muscular physique had slimmed down, his age became more prominent on his face. The once energetic man he had been, slowly dissipating as time went by.
Hephaestus looked away and waved Marinell off, “It’s fine,” Marinell rolled his eyes, Hephaestus looked back at him and raised both hands, “Cara mia, I really am. Besides, I got a tad peckish an hour after I brought our princess to our bed. Loaded myself up with cheese and crackers, which reminds me, we should head to the markets later. I’ll tell you more of my plans as you eat. Hurry, food’s getting cold, beloved.” Hephaestus stood up and pulled a chair out, he then walked to pick up Euphrosyne. Hephaestus proceeded to smother her chubby face with kisses, she responded in kind by giggling and shoving his face away.
“So sorry to keep passing you around, darling. Now come on, you’re probably hungry.” Hephaestus stopped his attacks, looking into Euphrosyne’s silvery bluish green eyes. She drooled a bit, shaking her arm up and down as she began to babble. Hephaestus grinned from ear to ear, placing another small kiss on her button nose. He carefully situated her on her high chair, taking the tea towel off his shoulder and tying it around her neck as a makeshift bib.
It was a nice quiet morning, Marinell for the most part of it had watched Hephaestus feed their daughter. Laughing a bit as he saw Hephaestus try to make their daughter mimic him so she would eat. A stone settled into the pit of his stomach, this would be the last time he would ever see such an occurrence. He stared longer, trying to capture them the way that they are. Trying to sear this moment in his mind forever, although, in his heart, he knew he would never forget them. They were burned into the core of his being, traversing through every stream of his veins. For his love had bewitched him wholly.
After their breakfast, Marinell insisted on cleaning the plates while Hephaestus rested a tad. Well, he didn’t exactly follow through. He quickly got a move on packing things for their little adventure, Marinell could hear him telling Euphrosyne of what today will look like.
“First, my darling child, we shall go to the beach,” To which Euphrosyne squealed in response, Hephaestus laughed as she did so, “Yes, my seashell, the beach. Your favorite place. You truly are your fathers’s child. Now, after the beach, we shall return home for a nap. Following after said nap, the marketplace. We need more cheese and more clothes for you, ‘m afraid you’re growing too fast for your clothes, seashell.” Hephaestus said in a higher register, baby talk.
Marinell tuned out after, grabbing the other tea towel they had and wiped his hands dry. He stalked over to their bedroom, seeing Hephaestus packing an extra shirt in a bag. Euphrosyne sat on the bed, slobbering on a glass swan. Marinell then took it out of her mouth, causing her to yell. Marinell tsked, “We need to pack your clothes for later.”
“Already did that, snacks and packing. I need to be active in this family as well. Now, let’s go!”
Off they went to the beach near their home, Hephaestus and Euphrosyne being the only two who swam. Marinell was quite peeved off at the sea, not wanting to even touch it. He would comment once in a while about what Hephaestus and Euphrosyne were doing. They spent about an hour at most swimming, Euphrosyne had tired herself out from all the playing. Hephaestus walked back to the shore with the babe resting on his shoulder. Hephaestus chuckled, rubbing her back slightly. Marinell met him halfway, placing a towel over their child’s wet form. Hephaestus kissed him, “Thanks for always being there, love.”
Marinell caressed his cheek, “I do my best.”
The small family had gone home, resting for a tad before they went off to another adventure to the marketplace. Euphrosyne this time was strapped to Hephaestus, he would make her smell some of the food and if she had disliked it, he would return and pick another. Marinell would hang back at moments, then catch up. Sometimes he would be overly affectionate, sometimes he would be over protective. There was no in between, Hephaestus had even asked about it once. Marinell had merely shook it off. Saying that he’s always been this way, which backfired completely, because Hephaestus apologized profusely. Marinell covered his mouth with his hand, kissing his cheek and telling him not to worry. He clutched his husband’s hand, leading him to another area.
They played around for a bit near the school, then danced around for a bit to the band that were playing. Tossing a gold coin in the hat on the ground. Late in the evening, they had gone back home. Marinell and Hephaestus cooked dinner together, teasing each other at times. Euphrosyne would look at them and laugh, her hands clapping as she squeaks.
The day had ended and the fog of happiness in Marinell’s mind had gone. He was in the same debacle as yesterday however, he would be leaving soon. Forever. He waited for his husband to sleep, the moment he heard Hephaestus snore. Marinell carefully sat up, getting out of bed. He looked back at his husband, then turned away. Marinell opened their closet, he searched in the dark for a box. He found it quickly at the bottom, he stepped outside the room and went to the kitchen. Marinell placed the box on the table, he lit a lamp and opened the box. He picked up the bracers he hadn’t worn in years. A crown, his crown, laid under the bracers.
He took them out slowly, as if to stall. But he shouldn’t be late. Marinell placed the first bracer on his left, flinching at the way it clung to him. He took the right one and locked it in place. The crown was the finishing piece. Marinell wore it, the set was now complete. While some would have loved to have worn all these things, Marinell detested them. All these things solidified the fact that he was a prisoner to his family. Marinell looked at the clock that hung on the wall, he had 30 minutes to leave. His meeting spot with Nerissa was ways off, he could see it from the kitchen window. The glowing of the sea, his eyes glowed in return.
Marinell walked out of the door, shutting it gently to not make a noise. He walked forward, not glancing back even once.
Hephaestus snorted in his sleep, choking a bit on some spit. It effectively woke him up, he flopped to the other side, expecting to find another body but finding none. Hephaestus thought, “He must’ve gone to the bathroom.” Hephaestus was slowly drifting back to sleep.
A cry had woken him up, Hephaestus bolted straight up. He thought that Marinell might handle it, but the cry had gone on far too long for Hephaestus. He stumbled out of bed, “Coming, Euphrosyne,” he said groggily. Hephaestus opened the door to her room, picking her up from her crib. Her cries softened, Hephaestus let out a small laugh. He patted her back, hushing her gently as he hummed. “We spent the whole day together, sweet one. But you miss me still?”
Euphrosyne cooed in response, Hephaestus hummed more, “Well, let’s get you some milk. It’s usually your feeding time anyway. Let’s go, seashell.”
Euphrosyne gripped at her father’s beard, pulling harshly at it. He let out a pained groan, the pain waking him up. His eyes blinked away the last bits of sleep as he went to the kitchen. He carried her around as he took one of Euphrosyne’s bottles. Hephaestus turned on the light, he turned and saw the box on the table. A box he had seen before, a gust of wind hit him in the face before he could ponder on it some more. Hephaestus turned to the window, seeing the glowing sea.
“You’ve got to be shitting me.”
Hephaestus ran on the sand with Euphrosyne in tow, he hid her under his cloak. He could faintly see the outline of someone’s figure. Marinell. Hephaestus knew in his heart that it was Marinell, he moved faster. The wind bit at his face as it grew stronger, he clutched Euphrosyne tightly. His breathing grew rapid, his lungs beginning to struggle to get air in. He panted as his muscles burned, “MARINELL!” Hephaestus shouted, hoping to catch his attention. The wind grew louder, whistling in his ears.
“MARINELL!” He shouted as best as he could over the air, Euphrosyne managed to sleep through all of this. Hephaestus thanked whatever deity made it that his daughter hadn’t woken up. He could feel her small breaths on his neck as he strained his voice, “MARINELL!!!”
Marinell could hear his husband, but not once did he turn. Turning would only make it worse, he saw Nerissa standing guard at the meet up. Her tall figure is intimidating to any who may see her in the clearing. Marinell’s pace remained unfaltering, slow but steady; unfazed by the strengthening of the storm. His husband kept calling out to him. Marinell’s eyes shut, taking in a breath and striding forwards.
Hephaestus took big gulps of air, his lungs squeezing tightly. A jolt of adrenaline rushed through him as he heard the crackling of thunder. He lost feeling to all of his body, mind focusing on Marinell. Euphrosyne moved a little, but Hephaestus could barely notice. He was nearing Marinell, he took in gasping breaths; a hand reached forward and grabbed at Marinell’s forearm.
“Marinell! What’s going on, cara mia?” Hephaestus yelled.
Marinell spoke no words, head tilted and eyes aglow. His stare was distant, as if he were caught in a trance. Hephaestus shook him ever so slightly, cupping his face as Marinell stared through him. His once loving husband, gone without a moment’s notice. Nerissa had seen the commotion and stepped out of the water, drawing her sword from its sheath. She dripped head to toe with water, eyes glowing the same blue that had enraptured Marinell.
Hephaestus paid no mind as he gripped Marinell’s face, chest heaving up and down as he shook Marinell. Another crash of thunder and lightning struck as Nerissa pushed Hephaestus back. He dropped to the sand.
*BOOM*
*CRACK*
He raised his hand, as if that may shield them from her. He turned his body so that Euphrosyne may not be struck, Hephaestus held her a distance from him. She squirmed but slept still; Hephaestus closed his eyes. Preparing for the end that may come.
….
…..
He waited with bated breath, but nothing came. No pain came. He heard a gasp from the woman, one of his eyes opened. Turning his head slowly, he saw the sword being thrown aside. The rushing winds blew his hood over his head, standing up, he looked to see what had happened. Marinell held the woman’s arm, staring into her very soul with fiery rage. The blue glow fading in and out of his irises.
They fully stopped after Marinell turned his gaze to his husband, his features softened as he dropped Nerissa’s arm. He wanted to speak, to utter apologies to Hephaestus. But his voice belonged to the sea… He cannot even whisper.
Marinell gestured for Hephaestus to stop, backing up slowly. Nerissa got her composure back, taking her sword back and sheathing it. She was terrified, yet she was still fierce. Her eyes glowed brighter, she stalked off to join the waters.
Hephaestus held a hand out for Marinell, Marinell felt the temptation to grasp it. His insides turned, burning him for rejecting Hephaestus. Their feet had touched the water, Hephaestus was tired of this, he snatched Marinell’s wrist, gripping his bracer tightly.
“Why?” His voice was broken, soft and was caught away in the rushing winds. Tears arose quickly in his eyes, the happiness of yesterday replaced with the sorrows of today.
Marinell shook his head, backing up further, they reached knee deep waters. The glowing casted at their faces from below, Hephaestus tightened his grip further, “Please, my love. Don’t leave us.” A tear fell down his face.
The water rose from below, engulfing Marinell at a natural speed, his face and arms remaining uncovered. They crept as Marinell mouthed the words, ‘Let me go, let me go, it’s alright.’
Hephaestus shook his head, face scrunching up as he felt Marinell pull away. Hephaestus saw the water nearing his hand, making him pull at Marinell. It was a futile attempt. The water kept him down, as if it were stone instead. The water pulled Marinell’s arm down, pinning it to his side. The water began to consume his face, his eyes beginning to glow once more.
‘I love you.’ He mouthed.
Hephaestus felt his heart rip in two as Marinell had been pulled under. The strange glow moved away quickly. He did not know what to do with himself at the moment. His eyes never left the glow, he stood there for what felt like a lifetime. Numb and heartbroken at the same time. A swirl of pain and hatred flowing within him.
Euphrosyne cooing broke him out of his thoughts, he looked down on her, looking at her small figure in his arm. She reached a hand out for him to take, and he did so. Giving her a finger to hold, he walked out of the water, back to his home.
The rain poured heavily from the heavens, shedding the lost tears of Hephaestus for him. He quickened his pace and began to sprint as the rain hammered upon them. Hephaestus covered Euphrosyne once more.
They had reached home, the light of the kitchen welcoming them. Hephaestus felt as though he died, his body moved on its own accord, giving Euphrosyne a warm bath and fresh clothes, feeding her the remainder of her milk. He tucked her in her crib, leaving without even looking at her. His feet dragged him to the kitchen, steps faltering as he fell to his knees. The storm raged outside as Hephaestus succumbed to the grief that called upon him. Willing him to fall into its arms.
He shivered as the air hit him, he was cold and tired. His insecurities ate him whole, not a piece of him went unharmed. He felt sick, he felt pain, he felt everything eat away at him. He took off his tunic, ripping the bandages that wrapped his healing scars. Hephaestus wrapped his arms around himself as he took in breaths.
Standing up, he went to find some alcohol. Something to distract him from all the raging demons within, something that will fill the hole and wash away the pain. He searched in every cabinet and cupboard, none. He seethed in frustration, pacing around the kitchen. Hephaestus ceased as something caught his attention.
The box.
He picked it up, opened it and found it empty…
Save for a ring.
Marinell’s ring.
 It glinted under the light.
He crushed the box slightly as his hand held it tightly. Gingerly, he plucked it from its spot inside. He clenched it hard, hands shaking ever so slightly. It dug into the palm of his hand, his nails and the ring denting the skin. Hephaestus willed himself to stop, taking a breath in and opened his palm. It dropped into the box, he regained some of his senses; he walked back to his room. Stopping for a bit, he looked at Euphrosyne’s door.
He entered without a word, shoving the box under his armpit, he carried Euphrosyne out of her cot and brought her into his room. Hephaestus settled her in the middle, she made a noise before snoring lightly. Her father chuckled, then he turned to the closet; opening it and placing it at the bottom. He took some of Marinell’s clothes and shoved it atop the box. Letting out a sigh, he closed the doors. Hephaestus went to lay down, he will have to feel all of that tomorrow.
The End.

when you open your office door, you find satoru down on one knee.
“oh my god,” you whisper harshly, trying to pull him back to his feet. “get up before someone sees—”
he says your name loudly in proclamation at the very moment principal yaga and shoko decide to step out of the former’s office. your face burns when they turn to find the source of the outburst.
satoru is unperturbed by the attention, positively flourishing under it as he unrolls the sheet of paper he’s holding out to you. “will you please make our relationship official and take a very romantic stroll down to hr with me?”
“everyone already knows that you’re dating,” shoko points out from down the hall. “you live together and have like, a dozen kids.”
“yeah, duh,” your boyfriend replies, jumping back onto his feet. he wraps an arm around your shoulders, beaming at your coworkers. “but we need to fill the forms out to legally take me off the jujutsu tech dating market.”
“that’s entirely incorrect,” your boss sighs, having had to explain this concept far too many times today. “faculty must disclose romantic relationships to monitor for possible conflicts of interest.”
“oh, yeah,” satoru nods, suddenly very solemn. “sending you on missions with nanami was really conflicting with my interests.”
“you are so dramatic,” you laugh, wiggling out from under his arm in favour of taking his hand, dragging him toward yaga’s office. “come on, let’s go sign those forms before i decide to run away with nanami.”
“don’t even joke about that!”

Part 7
"Are you serious?!"
Joel stared at you with surprised eyes. You bit your lip and nodded, and he smiled, though he still looked unsure.
"But why? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd love to, but you made it very clear a few weeks ago."
You sighed heavily and looked around the meadow you were standing on. You asked Joel to speak privately with you, to let him know that you've made the decision to tell Teddy who his dad is. It's been a week since your accident and the whole time you thought about how upset your son was.
"I know what I said," you finally spoke. "But it's been a while and... I see you've changed and how Teddy has become very attached to you and... He needs to know that he has someone else besides me."
Joel looked at you carefully and frowned. "What do you mean?"
"The accident at the stables made me realize that Teddy needs to know that if he loses me he will have another parent."
You saw Joel immediately tense up. He seemed nervous. "Don't say that. You'll be fine. I won't let something happen to you."
You smiled slightly. It was nice that he wanted to protect you from everything and at the same time naive that he believed it. You calmly replied, "You can't know that. You don't control the whole world. I might just get sick, choke... Or get struck by lightning and..." You swallowed. "Same goes for you. Something could happen to you too, and Teddy deserves to get to know his dad while he's still alive." You saw that your last words went to him, but you decided to convince him even more. "Besides, let's face it. Half the town already knows something. You want Teddy to find out from someone like Barbara?"
Joel winced and hissed, "No."
"Right, then let's do it. First, we'll go to the town hall, to have you sign the Birth Register." Seeing his surprised expression, you added: "Yes, we have something like that here. We don't live in the Middle Ages."
"Okay, but you want it to be like this... You know, official?"
You looked at him slightly annoyed. "Do you want to be his father or not?"
"Of course I do. I'm his dad, I always will be... I mean you can't take it back and I don't want to force you to do anything."
"I already told you. If something happens to me, I want you to take care of him without any problems."
He winced and looked at you with those sad puppy eyes. "Please stop repeating that."
"I'm not saying anything will happen to me. It's just a precaution. Come on."
*
You were sure of your decision, but not everyone agreed with you. Maria looked at you like you were crazy.
"Are you sure?"
"For the second time, yes I am."
Maria rolled her eyes and glanced at Joel, who was trying to stand aside. You sensed his anger, but you knew that because of the woman's pregnancy, he was trying not to upset her.
"You know what kind of man he is. Your decision will change your son's life. Possibly for the worse."
"What are you saying?!" You felt your blood boil. You always respected and liked Marie, but it wasn't just about Joel, it was about your son. "Are you suggesting I'm a bad mother?!"
Joel gently grabbed your hand. You looked at him and saw that he was confused.
"Let's leave it at that. Maybe she's right."
Oh no, you weren't going to let it go. He didn't want to argue with his brother's wife, so he couldn't defend himself, but you weren't so reluctant.
"No, she's not right. She doesn't see what kind of dad you are." You looked at Maria. "I remind you that Joel and your husband are brothers and they share the same blood. Tommy traveled with Joel and probably did the same things as him." You looked at the man. "Yes?" Joel nodded slightly and you smiled in satisfaction and added, "I know what's best for my son. Just like you will know what's best for your child."
Maria looked at you with an unreadable expression on her face. You didn't know if she was angry, but she finally brought the Birth Book and handed it to Joel. You noticed how his eyes lit up when he saw your son's name. But before writing his name in the 'father' box, he looked at you. He don't signed that until you nodded your head.
"Alright," you said happily. "Now it's time for Teddy."
*
Before entering your house, Joel began to have doubts again.
"Wait," he murmured.
You looked at him and want to laugh. Who would have thought that rough, tough Joel Miller could be so insecure at times?
"What happened?"
"What if he starts asking questions?"
You rolled your eyes. "What questions? Joel, he's a baby. He won't ask us how we conceived him."
"I know," he murmured. "But he may ask why I wasn't all this time?"
You shrugged. "Simple. I left Boston and I lost you and you didn't know where I was."
"Okay, what if..."
"Joel!" You cut him off and grabbed his shoulders. It was funny how more and more often you unknowingly crossed that line and gave him a touch. "If he asks a really hard question, leave the answers to me. Okay?"
He nodded and you finally entered the house. As soon as Teddy saw you, he ran towards you two.
"Mommy, Joel!"
You took him in your arms and kissed him on the cheek. "Hi, honey."
The baby boy giggled and hugged you, but after a moment he extended his hands towards Joel.
"Hey, 'bear cub'." Joel took him from you.
Ellie, who was watching you with a smile, said: "Now that you're here, I'm leaving. I promised to help Dina with the sheep."
"Dina, huh?" Joel spoke up and winked at the girl, who blushed slightly.
You tapped him lightly on the shoulder and made him understand not to tease the teenage girl.
"Come back for dinner," you said.
You didn't even think about the fact that you've been having meals together as a family.
Ellie nodded and ran out of the house, and you looked at your son.
"Teddy, we need to talk."
The boy tilted his head slightly and asked, "Have I been naughty?"
Joel spoke first. "No. You haven't done anything wrong 'bear cub'. Mom and I just want to tell you something."
"Something cool," you added.
This immediately brought a smile to his little face and made him squirm uneasily in Joel's arms.
You sat next to your little one on the couch, and Joel knelt across from the boy. The little one was getting impatient, so you decided to get it over with quickly, like ripping off a band-aid.
"Honey, we have something important to tell you. So, Joel is your dad."
The little one jumped up a little and looked at you with his big brown eyes.
"The real one?" You nodded your head and he turned his attention to Dad. "Really?"
"Yes, son," Joel croaked.
You saw how hard it was for him to say the words because his throat was choked with emotion. Meanwhile, your son was happily swinging his legs and smiling broadly. Sometimes you saw how enviously he looked at the boys whose fathers took them on horseback trips. There was nothing You could do about it then.
"And can I call you 'daddy'?"
Joel's eyes glazed over slightly. He bit his lip and nodded.
"Even when we are around other people?"
"Yes, son..." he choked out, and the little one pounced on him with a squeal of joy.
Joel hugged him tight and you noticed a single tear rolling down his cheek. You put your hand on his shoulder and squeezed it lightly to reassure him. Meanwhile, your son stepped back and frowned. And you knew questions were coming.
"Why didn't I know before?
You pulled the little one back on the couch and said, "Because I wanted you to meet Joel and like him first."
"Oh... I already like him," he said happily, then found another question. "Why weren't you with us before?"
To your surprise, Joel decided to answer himself. "Because I let your mom go on a trip with Aunt Claudia and I lost her... And I couldn't find her for a long time."
"But now that you've found us, why don't we all live together? Like Mummy Bear and Daddy Bear and Two Baby Bears in my book?" he asked sadly.
You stroked your son's brown curls. Joel decided to answer again. For someone who wanted so much to avoid childish questions, he was doing very well.
"Not all mums and dads live together," he said calmly and grabbed the boy's hands. "It's only in fairy tales that it's so easy. Sometimes adults have different problems, but hey, don't be sad. After all, we live so close to each other and see each other so often, and now we will even meet even more often."
Teddy seemed comforted. "Shall we ride on a trip to the dam together?"
Joel smiled. "Sure, but only if mom agrees."
You knew in advance that you were in a loss position when two pairs, of puppy eyes, looked at you.
"Mommy can I?"
You smiled and nodded your head. Teddy stood on the couch and started jumping happily. You and Joel smiled at each other.
*
In the days that followed, Teddy's behavior only reassured you that you had made the right decision. The boy was so happy and nonstop told that Joel was his dad. And he started calling Ellie his sister. Even if you and Joel explained to him that Ellie wasn't related to him. The teenage girl herself didn't mind either, so you finally let it go. So you thought you had everything under control and the deal between you and Joel was clear. But life likes to get complicated.
It was a warm summer day when the city began to be in turmoil. Everyone started walking towards the gate and you heard people shouting "The Wolves are back!"
Joel and Ellie found you and Teddy in the crowd. They stood next to you and looked at you questioningly.
"Wolves are a group of residents who have decided to roam the wasteland. Sometimes they visit other settlements. They collect information and hard-to-find products. Sometimes they return to Jackson. Once every six months, sometimes more often. They stay a week or two and go again. They can't stay in one place," you explained calmly, though you were really nervous.
The reason for your nervousness approached you with a wide smile and open arms. He ignored other people and looked at you with his blue eyes. His blond hair was slightly messy and he had a slight blush on his cheeks.
"Y/N!"
You couldn't resist his charm and ran over to him. You snuggled into his wide chest and he kissed your head.
"Steve," you murmured. "I'm glad you're okay.”
"I'm happy to see my favorite girl!"
Joel and Ellie stared at you in shock. It was impossible not to notice that you had some relationship with this man. Joel tried to control his emotions, but he felt something tighten in his chest. This unknown man was at least 15 years younger than him, taller, and more muscular than he was.
You pulled away slightly from Steve and looked at your son in surprise. The little boy looked unsure. Just like Ellie and Joel. You decided to somehow reduce this distance.
"Steve, meet the new residents, Joel and Ellie."
"Hi," he said with a smile, but the other two only murmured what was supposed to be a hello. You wanted to roll your eyes. You smiled at your son hoping that he would be sweet as always.
"Teddy, won't you say hi to Uncle Steve?"
The blond knelt down and smiled at the child. "Hey, tiger. I have a new book for you."
Your son winced and muttered, "Now I'm a 'bear cub'."
You sighed heavily and squeezed Steve's arm. "You must be hungry. Why don't we go to the dining room?"
Steve stood up and nodded eagerly. "Sure!"
You held out your hand to the baby. "Come on, sweetie."
Teddy, however, ran to Joel and grabbed his hand with both hands. "I want to stay with daddy!"
"Oh..."
You didn't know what to say. On top of that, you felt Steve's watchful gaze on you, and you murmured, "I'll explain later."
Joel, meanwhile, picked up his son and replied. "No problem, I'll take care of him."
"Ok, see you later."
You started to walk away with Steve, and he tentatively put his arm around your waist and asked, "Is that okay?"
"Yes," you replied quickly. "Joel is Teddy's father, but we aren't together."
Steve nodded. "If you think so, but if anything changes, you know what the deal we have."
You nodded your head and smiled.
You and Steve weren't a couple, and certainly not in the traditional way. You were more like friends and lovers. You befriended him 3 years ago. You knew right away that you weren't "the only one". Steve had a few girlfriends in other towns. He was handsome, gallant, kind, and caring, but he refused to settle down. You didn't mind. At least once in a while you felt loved. Steve always took you on romantic dates and treated you like a princess. He also liked your son, but he never tried to be a "dad." Your arrangement really suited you, and yet you couldn't get the sulky look on your son's face out of your head. You haven't done anything wrong. Did you?
*
Joel sensed that his son was nervous. He was afraid it might be his fault. Maybe his mood affected the child?
"Teddy, what happened?"
"Why does mommy like Uncle Steve? She should like you," the boy replied and pouting.
"Because that Steve is quite handsome," Ellie muttered, and Joel gave her a reproachful look. The girl just shrugged and backed away slightly.
Joel adjusted his grip, holding the baby closer to him.
"Mom has the right to like who she wants, and you can't be mad at her."
The little one groaned unhappily. "But you are my daddy, not him."
Joel sighed and stroked the little boy's back, trying to comfort him. "Sometimes it's not that simple. Remember how I explained to you that not all moms live with dads?" The little one nodded and Joel continued: "Sometimes moms find someone else and that's okay. It doesn't change the fact that I'm your dad. Mom has reasons to like Steve more than me. And you know… If you start liking, something that Mom doesn't like, she would still love you. Don't be mad at her, okay? Can you promise me that?"
The little boy nodded and rested his head on his shoulder. Joel sighed heavily. He actually felt the same as his son, but he couldn't use him against you. But that didn't mean he wasn't going to do anything.
*
You were close to home when Joel left and closed the door carefully behind him. His mouth was pressed into a tight line, and you could see a flash of anger in his eyes. Before you could ask anything, he said, "Teddy is busy playing."
"Okay... Then what are you doing outside?"
"I wanted to talk without him being there." You raised your eyebrows. "Who is this Steve? What do you have in common? Is it serious? How long have you been together?"
Every question that came out of his mouth made you even more surprised and angry. You couldn't believe your ears. Plus, you saw that Joel held a grudge against you. You crossed your arms over your chest and growled, "Excuse me! You are the last person who has the right to ask me that!"
Joel took a step back, his stance becoming more submissive. "I... I'm just worried about Teddy and you. He can be dangerous like..."
"Steve isn't like Anderson or..." You stopped, but Joel understood what you were implying. "Go to your house now. I'll say goodbye to Teddy from you."
Before he could say anything, you brushed past him and quickly entered the house. You felt the rage radiating from you and decided to give yourself a few minutes to calm down before going to your son.
What the hell was Joel thinking?
You went to the kitchen and poured yourself a glass of cold water. He had no right to act like a jealous husband. Sure, maybe you should have told him about Steve earlier, but... You didn't know how. And what moment to choose? At first, it didn't make any sense at all when you treated him like an enemy. Then you had other problems: Anderson, the accident... Finally, it happened. Joel found out about Steve and he was turning into an asshole again.
Joel was walking around in the living room. He was furious and... Jealous. He knew it was an ugly, debilitating feeling, but he couldn't shake it. Because what did this Steve do for you? Did he know about Anderson? If yes, why didn't he do anything about it? If he didn't know, then you obviously didn't trust him enough to tell him about it. So how did he take care of you?
And then a small, malicious voice in Joel's head asked, "How have you taken care of her all these years? Where were you when she needed you?"
He stopped in place and sighed heavily. He wasn't with you. He had no right to be jealous, you weren't his and you never will be. And from the way you hugged Steve, he knew you trusted this man. Clearly, he's never hurt you the way, he did.
When you heard a soft knock on the door, you instinctively expected who you would see. You looked at Joel annoyed and gasped, "What?"
"Sorry," he replied quickly. "Really... I..."
You tilted your head to the side. "What, Joel? Talk while I have the last bit of patience to listen to you."
You saw that he was remorseful and nothing was left of his anger from a few minutes ago.
"Because I was a dick who hurt you, now I see every man that way. I'm really worried about you and I want to protect you. You and Teddy."
You rolled your eyes. Joel sometimes surprised you with his twisted logic. He was worried, so he made a quarrel. However, you saw that he was sorry and decided to forgive him for his previous behavior. "Okay, I think I understand, but you really don't need to worry. Steve is a good guy. He would never hurt me. He treats me and Teddy very well." You saw Joel get sad at the mention of your son and added, "But don't worry. He'll never replace you, as a father. Steve isn't the parenting type." You smiled and nodded your head. "Come on. Play with Teddy for a while before you go back to your house."
He nodded and looked at you gratefully.
*
Even though Joel seemed to realize what you said, you noticed that he was starting to pull away from you. He avoided touching you, he didn't stay at your house for long and he didn't come to dinners. It annoyed you. You wanted it to be like before. You felt guilty for his disturbing behavior. No matter how hard you tried to convince yourself that you weren't hurting Joel. One look into his sad brown eyes was enough to make you feel worse.
When Steve asked you out, you hesitated. At first, you wanted to tell him you had no one to leave Teddy with, though of course that was a lie. So you finally agreed and asked Joel to take care of your son.
You were never nervous before a date with Steve. You've always felt joy and excitement, but not this time. You got ready and put on your prettiest dress, tied at the back with a ribbon. But when you looked in the mirror you felt disappointed. You thought about getting changed when you heard a knock on the door. After a while, Ellie and Joel were in your living room greeting Teddy. The girl looked at you and smiled.
"You look wonderful!"
You shook your head. "Thank you. I made sandwiches for you and Teddy for dinner. They're on the table."
Your son grabbed the girl's hand and dragged her toward the kitchen. You were alone with Joel, and you couldn't help but feel that he was looking at you with delight, but also with sadness.
"Are you sure it's okay?" you asked. "I can cancel it and leave him with Claudia next time."
"It's okay," he said with a noticeable stiffness in his voice. "You know I love taking care of him. When they finish eating, I'll take him to me."
"Okay. Bye," you said and quickly left the house.
Joel, however, ran after you and shouted "Y/N wait!"
You tensed automatically and turned to him with an angry look on your face. "What now, Joel?! I'm not supposed to go on a date?! I'm supposed to stay because you're jealous?! Maybe I should dress differently?! I don't care what you have to say! It's none of your business!"
Joel looked at you in complete shock. Clearly surprised by your outburst of anger, he muttered, "Your dress came untied."
"What?" You wanted to hide underground. All of a sudden, you didn't understand why you were yelling at him. You felt like you were really angry at yourself and not at him.
Joel meanwhile came over to you and gently turned you around. You felt his strong, large hands on your back and swallowed. He brushed his rough fingertips over the skin of your back, and you bit your lip. It only took him a moment to fix the binding, and something in you missing his touch, when he pulled away and said, "Done."
You turned to him and mumbled, "Sorry."
He smiled softly at you and shook his head. "Okay. You're absolutely right. It's none of my business. I understand that. Have fun."
"Thanks" you whispered and walked away.
You couldn't get his sad look out of your head, and no matter how hard you tried, you didn't give Steve your full attention. You went for a long evening walk, and several times you found yourself enthusiastically telling him about Ellie and her bond with Teddy, and mentioning Joel once or twice.
You ended your walk in your favorite place, at the back of the stables. Steve sat you down on the straw bales and stood between your legs. He started to place gentle kisses on your neck, then brushed his nose against your jaw.
"I missed you. You are my favorite girl."
You smiled and you wrapped your arms around his neck. "Did you find a new one? How many women does your harem already have?"
He chuckled and stroked your cheek. "Only five, but you, you're my favorite."
"You say that to everyone girl, right?"
He shook his head in 'no', and his hands traveled to your back, but the moment he started to undo your dress, you flinched. He noticed this and immediately moved away.
"What's the matter, little flower? You know I'll never make you do anything."
"I know and I appreciate that about you."
"What happened?"
Part of you wanted to say "nothing" and encourage him to continue, but you felt your body was uncooperative. Steve's touch used to turn you on in five minutes. But this time you felt tense. You sighed heavily and quietly replied: "I'm sorry but... It doesn't seem to work anymore. You and me."
Steve pulled back and nodded. He looked like he expected it.
"It's okay. You don't have to apologize to me. I understand."
You looked at him surprised: "You're not angry?"
"I always knew it would end someday. You have a child and a home. You need something permanent. I am an adventurous person and I do not shy away from the company of women. You are special, you will always be and that's why I want the best for you. And the best thing for you is to come back to your little family."
You frowned. "Joel is not my husband. Ellie is not his daughter, and she isn't Teddy's half-sister. We are not family."
Steve looked at you indulgently. "You know very well that family is not blood ties. You take care of each other, you worry about each other, you help each other. You are family. The truth is that it doesn't work between us anymore because you want to go back to your family. You talked about them all evening"
"I'm sorry" you whispered and felt tears gathering in your eyes.
Steve cupped your face in his hands and leaned forward. He placed a gentle kiss on your lips and whispered, "Don't apologize. You haven't done anything wrong. Just promise me you won't forget about me. I want to have a friend here."
You nodded and smiled through your tears. "You will always be my friend."
He stepped aside and helped you down to the ground. "Okay. Rush to your family."
*
You walked into Joel and Ellie's house without knocking. Another thing you started doing unconsciously. But the living room was dark. You felt a little uneasy, but then you heard the soft sounds of a guitar. You silently walked to the door to the yard but stayed on the threshold. Ellie and Teddy lay together in the hammock that Joel had made for them. He was sitting on a garden chair with a guitar. You've never heard him play or sing before, but you've heard a teenage girl teasing him about "I'd be a singer." Apparently, the kids managed to get him to play on guitar. You leaned against the doorframe. You didn't want them to see you. This scene felt so intimate that you felt like an intruder. You focused on the words Joel was singing.
'When you lose your way and the fight is gone
Your heart starts to break
And you need someone around now
Just close your eyes
While I put my arms above you
And make you unbreakable '
You had to admit that Joel had a nice voice and could play. But more than the music, you focused on the words.
'She stands in the rain, just to hide it all If you ever turn around I won't let you fall down now I swear I'll find your smile And put my arms above you And make you unbreakable
I'll make you unbreakable
Cause she's the girl that I never had She's the heart that I wanted bad The song I heard on the radio That made me stop and think of her'
With every word he sang, your heart beat faster. You felt like Joel was singing about you. Was it even possible?
'And I can't, I can't, I can't Concentrate anymore
And I need, I need, need To show her what her heart is for It's been mistreated badly
Now her world has started falling apart
Falling apart '
You weren't even aware that you were crying while listening to him. You listened to him like hypnotized.
'You need to know that somebody's there all the time I'd wait in line, and I hope It's yours
Can't walk away 'til your heart knows
That it's beautiful
Oh, I hope you know, It's beautiful
And put my arms above you And make you unbreakable
Cause I love, I love, I love I love you darling
Yes, I love, I love, I love
I love you darling
And I'll put my arms around you
And make you unbreakable
Unbreakable '
You didn't even notice when he finished the song and put the guitar aside. He walked over to the kids and said, "Teddy, it's time for bed."
"No," the baby boy moaned. "I want to look at the stars with Ellie."
Joel ruffled slightly boy's hair and replied. "Fine, but I'll bring you a blanket."
He started walking towards the house and you panicked. For a moment you even thought about running out of the house, but it seemed silly to you. So you stepped back into the living room and turned on the bedside lamp so that the darkness wouldn't make Joel think you were an intruder.
As soon as he saw you, worry flashed across his face.
"Y/N, what happened? Did he hurt you? If he did something to you, I swear I'll kill him."
He quickly walked over to you and cupped your face in his hands, wiping away your tears with his thumbs. You mentally cursed yourself for your own sensitivity. You put your hands on his and replied, "I'm fine. I broke up with him, but Steve understood it and didn't make any trouble."
Joel let go of your face but stayed close to you.
"Why?" He asked. "You seemed happy with him."
"It's just... I've never had anything serious with him. Steve has other girlfriends. I guess we always knew we'd break up someday."
Joel nodded but still looked concerned. "Then why are you crying?"
You decided that there was no point in lying to him and replied: "I think I got emotional when I listened to your song."
Joel's reaction surprised you. He pulled away sharply and looked as if he was about to pass out. "I'm sorry," he whispered.
"What?"
"I'm always the reason you cry," he whispered.
You couldn't see him like this any longer. You quickly walked over to him and hugged him tightly. You buried your face in his chest.
For a moment, Joel was paralyzed. He didn't know what to do. Eventually, something clicked inside him and he hugged you tightly.
"It's not tears of sadness this time," you said quietly. " Just tears of emotion."
You felt Joel relax under your touch. And although on the one hand, you wanted this moment to last longer, you remembered about the children. You pulled away and muttered, "You were supposed to bring a blanket for Teddy."
"Ah, yes."
Joel awkwardly walked past you and grabbed a blanket from the couch.
"Will you be mad if I come home and take the evening off?"
He smiled at you. "Run. Before Teddy notices you."
But before you left, you spoke again. "Joel?"
"Yes?"
"Will you sing me this song someday when we're alone?"
You giggled as his eyes widened. He looked like a puppy who had been given his favorite treats.
"Of course," he finally choked out.
You nodded and ran out of the house. But outside you stopped and put your hand to your chest. Your heart was beating like crazy. You bit your lip lightly and felt your cheeks heat up. You really needed a moment to yourself.

I Can Feel You
Summary; Beau Arlen x Fe!OC (or reader if you wish) -> Agent Sandy Fletcher is brought to Montana to help on a case.
Warning: Swearing, Violence (crimial minds level - not a tie in), mentions of tortue, fluff (kinda) towards the end, angst. There is also an SPN reference if you can spot it.
Tumblr media
They had plastered her as a rookie. Made it out that she didn’t know much but she knew just over the normal amount to pass every test in the field.
By the gods were they wrong.
Agent Sandy Fletcher arrived in Montana in the early hours of Thursday morning. She was picked up by Deputy Poppernak who kept her both entertained and up-to-date on the case at hand.
She had been given her orders by her Chief. He wanted her away from town for a while. And, even though he wished that he didn’t have to, he needed to. Sandy needed out of Oregon. At least for a while.
“Tell me, is your Sheriff as talkative as you?”
Popp blushed a little. “Sorry. I’m talking too much.”
Sandy smiled. “Oh, no. It’s nice. The people I’m usually with don’t speak more than two words a day.”
Popp went on to explain a few things about Sheriff Beau Arlen and his deputy Hoyt. “I’ve heard good things so far.” Sandy assured Popp.
By the time she arrived at her home for the following however-many weeks, Sandy managed to grab a few hours of sleep before heading into the station at 8am.
And they got straight onto the case.
A double act. Childhood friends turned into a serial killer duo. They’d kidnap the helpless and weak, keep them alive for a few days but in the meanwhile make them wish they were dead until finally…they’d grant the victim one final wish.
To let them die.
It was better than going through the pain again and again and again.
But it was two weeks after Sandy had joined the team and was with Beau, Denise, Cassie and Jenny that she was taken from them.
The duo had been watching Denise’s house the entire evening, waiting for someone to come outside alone and be distracted long enough to be taken out.
It just so happened to be Sandy.
She had offered to take out the trash since Denise had cooked, Cassie and Jenny were handling the pots and Beau was clearing the dining room.
But after 5 minutes, Beau popped his head outside from the backdoor to shout Sandy back inside.
“She still not back yet?” Beau had smiled as he entered and Jenny took the stacked plates from his hands.
“Wonder if she got lost?”
Beau chuckled and popped his head around the door. “Hey, Sandy! You get lost?”
But then nothing.
Not a single thing.
“Sandy?”
Beau looked back inside, the other three growing a little more concerned. “Sandy?”
Beau walked outside and around the corner cautiously.
On the floor was the trash bag open, pouring its contents onto the grass whilst the lid was thrown across the lawn.
“Hoyt!”
Jenny shot outside of the door and came to his side. “Where is she?”
Three sets of footprints. Sandy’s and two others.
They’d got to her.
Storming inside the station, Beau gave out his instructions to his officers, giving Hoyt things to follow up on and asking Cassie to keep Denise by her side at all times.
“We don’t know how long they’d been watching us but I’m gonna guess the whole night.”
“Beau?”
“I need every officer reporting back to either myself or Hoyt. You go out in pairs. You do not-”
“Beau?”
“Separate from your partner-”
“Beau!” Poppernack shouted, finally catching his boss’ attention. “Look.”
Popp picked up the remote on his desk and cast the live tape from his inbox to the Tv screen.
Sandy.
She was out cold. A single lightbulb was somewhere, lighting her up just enough for them to all see the damage that had been done.
She had blood dripping from her nose, cuts across her cheeks and collar bone. She had bruises around her eye but they’d hit her so it wouldn’t swell up.
They wanted the station to know it was her.
Everyone watched in silence, waiting for something to happen.
“It’s live, too. They’re streaming it but I can’t get a location.”
“Keep trying.” Beau was holding back every emotion he could so he simply sounded deflated. His eyes never once left the screen, even as he walked the few steps towards a desk to sit against it.
Popp nodded and continued to try and find her.
For a few moments, nothing happened and then a groan.
Slowly, Sandy was coming around. Her head felt heavy and her neck was sore. How long had she been out?
Squinting her eyes due to the light, she finally managed to find some strength again and then she saw him.
Sandy closed her eyes and groaned. “Oh, it’s you.”
“You’re still alive I see?”
“I’m guessing you were expecting a different ending.”
The guy behind the camera stood up. “Perhaps.”
“What is it with villain's being so vague in their answers?” Sandy questioned. “You never just get straight to the point. You have to make a whole song and dance about it and even then you don’t get to your point!”
A loud smack came across her cheek. Her hair covered her face but opened up the back of her neck for the camera to see yet another cut and taser markings.
“Well, aren’t you just the perfect gentleman?” Sandy looked back up to him.
Sharply, he yanked at her hair and placed another hand under his chin harshly.
“I wouldn’t speak to me like that if I were you, Alexandra.”
“Don’t call me that.” Sandy gritted. “You’re not my mother.”
“It’s your name, though? Isn’t it? Alexandra Fletcher. Special Agent. Only child- well, that’s not exactly true. Is it?”
Sandy laughed. “What? You been looking through my family’s medical records again? Wasn’t smart enough to become a doctor to get them legally so you stole them? That it? Oh, your parents must be so proud.”
He sharply gripped at her throat again.
“Shut the fuck up.”
“Didn’t know this was your angle. Always thought this was Ernie’s method.” Sandy continued.
“What’s she doing? She’s going to get herself killed!” That was the main comment coming from the officers until Beau shushed them all.
“Where is Ernie by the way? I thought you two were attached by the…” Sandy looked down a little. “You know? Everything.”
He placed more pressure on her throat but before she felt herself begin to pass out, Ernie walked inside.
“Let her go. I want to have some fun with this one. She’s special.”
“Thanks.” Sandy steadied her breathing. “Last person who called me that was my 5th grade teacher.”
“Humor? Is that your distraction?”
“More of my entertainment than anything.” Sandy shrugged. “The Sesame Street writers have really gone down the drain since they replaced some of the acts.”
Ernie threw back his head in a laugh as he picked out his tools. “Ha! Let me guess? We’re Bert and Ernie?”
“Congratulations, you have fucking ears. You mom must have been so proud when you finally listened to her.”
“Oh, she was. She asked me to kill her neighbor for her. The dog kept shitting in our garden.” He explained before lowering his top half to be eye-level with her. “Just one thing? Why Bert and Ernie?”
“Well…I’ve read your files. And you both seem to have this…ooh, what’s the word?” It hit her. “Codependency. Well, one of you does.” Sandy whispered before gesturing over to Bert.
Ernie smiled. “Is that right?”
“Yeah.”
Ernie’s face changed, no surprise to Sandy and he swiped his knife across her as he distracted her by punching her gut.
“Your folks ever tell you it’s not nice to beat on girls?”
“Pops encouraged it, actually. Said women needed to know their place in society. Thinking. Having an opinion. It wasn’t right.”
“Do you believe that?”
Ernie shrugged. “Not really. I have met some extraordinary women along the way.”
“Who you’ve killed along the way?”
“Most.”
“What about him?” Sandy nodded over to Bert.
“Oh, he'd be too afraid of them to try.”
“Seems pretty confident to me.” Sandy argued. “I mean, he had me shaking in my boots before you came in here.”
“I’m sure he did.”
Beau and some more of the officers continued to watch in silence whilst Jenny stood over Popp’s shoulder, trying to find a location on Sandy.
Beau’s eyes stayed glued to the screen in front of him looking for any sign or hint for where she might be.
She couldn’t be that far. She’d only been gone 3 hours - although it felt longer.
And clearly, they’d had tied for a while.
“Where are you, Sandy?”
“Do you have anything you’d like to say? Perhaps to that Sheriff of yours?” Ernie now asked as he circled her before finally leaning down behind her. “I saw how he was looking at you at dinner.”
Sandy rolled her eyes, “Oh, brother.”
“Now, I might not be the best expert but even I know when a guy is into you.”
“Why? Did you catch yourself in the mirror when checking Bert out?”
Ernie gave a harsh, fake smile. “Funny,”
“Oh, no. Please. Do continue.” Sandy’s voice was laced in sarcasm as she watched Ernie walk away.
“You laugh, but I guess…part of you hopes I’m right.”
Sandy didn’t say anything but simply shot him a look of slight confusion for him to continue.
“Because I also saw how you looked at him?”
“And how did I look at him?”
Ernie turned around and lent against his weapons table as another blade sat comfortably in his hands. “Like you’d do anything for him.”
Sandy thought about it for a moment. “Hhm, maybe. But he is my colleague so…maybe not anything.”
“Please, you were planning your wedding invitations.”
“Actually, it was our joint grave stone.” Sandy corrected. “Much like you with your very own partner in crime. I mean, there is a lovely plot of land for you out in the field. I mean, watching the stars from the little pond by that old willow tree? It would be very peaceful.”
“Sounds like you’ve found your own resting place.”
Sandy smiled, “Maybe.”
She could only hope that Beau or someone caught onto what she was saying.
And he did.
Beau gave the order and after a final few minutes, they’d found the spot.
For any main road, it would take just over an hour.
“Okay, I need squad cars, Popp take Alpha,” Beau then pointed to a few more officers and gave them their orders.
“Stream this to my phone.” Beau told Popp and the moment they got into Beau’s car, Jenny turned up the volume.
“Is she okay?”
“I think.”
“You think? What do you mean-”
“Beau, she’s okay.” Jenny assured him. “She’s just sitting there watching them.”
“Okay.”
“She’ll be okay, Beau.” Jenny reassured him. “She’s tougher than we think.”
Beau couldn’t talk. He just nodded and pressed his foot on the gas.
By the time they arrived, Beau and the others all switched off their headlights and sirens as they got closer to the barn.
Once the SWAT and officers were surrounding the building, SWAT kicked down the door and they all entered.
If Beau wasn’t so determined, the sight he was met with, he would have frozen.
SWAT took care of the serial duo whilst Jenny searched the rest of the barn for evidence to further the conviction.
Beau searched around the place before finally reaching Sandy, holstering his gun and leaning down.
“Beau Arlen,” Sandy smiled in a weak laugh. “Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes?”
Beau smiled as he quickly untied her and let her rest her weight against his arms as he helped her stand.
“Could say the same for you, Sweetheart.”
Sandy smiled weakly as he took her in his arms and helped her walk outside to the medics.
“Are you sure you can walk?”
“Beau, I have been through this a million times. I’m fine.”
As much as Beau would have once upon a time pushed her comment aside, he couldn’t. “What?”
“I’ll explain later, can we just..hurry?”
By the time Beau helped her out and got her to the medics, she was being rushed into hospital.
“They haven’t cut too deep. I should only need a couple of stitches.”
“Try 30.” The paramedic said in response. “Maybe more.”
Beau gave Sandy ‘that’ look but she just rolled her eyes. “What?”
“How can you be so calm about this? Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Beau, I told you I’m fine.”
And she said the same when he finally was alone with her in her medical room once her nurse had finished the final stitches.
“You keep saying you’re fine-”
“Are you okay? Do you need to see a doctor?”
“Sandy.”
“Beau.” She copied his tone.
Then he gave her that look again.
And she folded.
“Okay. So maybe the reason I was sent here wasn’t just to help out.” Sandy explained. “There had been a few incidences, back in Oregon. I worked a couple of cases in the Organised Crime Unit and - long story short - they found me. Tied me up in their grandmother’s basement and said if I didn’t join them I’d be…swimming with the fishes, if you will.”
“But this isn’t on-”
“My record? I know. It’s for highly classified officials to know, only.” Sandy nodded. “It was both for my protection, should any of the family somehow make their way into the databases and for any future employers I may have. Being tortured by a crime boss isn’t exactly something that would sell when trying to get a job in law enforcement.”
“When did it happen?”
“A few years back.”
“And have you-”
“Received counseling? Yeah. Just over 18 months and now we talk every couple of months.”
Beau nodded and hung his head. “Beau? Look at me?”
Beau looked up.
“I’m here. I’m alive. And I’m okay.” Sandy assured him in a soft voice. She reached out and took his hand. “Can you feel me? I can feel you.”
Beau squeezed her hand lightly. “I can feel you.”
Beau then pulled her into a tight hug which she gave back just as tight. He almost lost her tonight and yet she had been acting like nothing had happened.
But, just as Beau’s arms began to relax around her, Sandy’s arms tightened.
“Not yet.”
It was only two words, but Beau knew. Beau knew she was falling. That she was about to collapse beneath the weight of everything that had just happened.
Eventually, Sandy let go and moved back to wipe her eyes. “When these pain meds wear off, I might need your help. I love Denise but she scares me.”
Beau nodded. “Oh, me too.”
Sandy smiled. “Thank you for finding me.”
“Thank you for telling me where you were.”

you’ve been katsuki’s for as long as you can remember.
sure, he had never outwardly called you his girlfriend, but when you were both seven years old, he came up to you. chest heaving slightly from running up and down the hill where he had gotten you a freshly plucked out bouquet of flowers. the roots were still clinging to them and he got dirt all over your hands from forcibly grabbing them and shoving the bouquet in them before you could even form a sentence.
“since you accepted the flowers, you’re mine now.” he mumbled, his little hands tightened into fists at his sides and chubby cheeks a cute shade of pink, staring at you as confidently as he could.
a grin grows on his face when you respond with a simple “okay !” and a bright smile. the grin on his face never disappears even as his mom scolds him for getting you both all dirty.
you were katsuki’s in middle school too, when the boys in class decided to play kiss, marry, kill and he had somehow gotten dragged into it. the girls in your class tried their best to seem uninterested, claiming the boys were being childish, but you noticed how hard some of them were straining their ears trying to hear what the guys were talking about in their own little corner of the room. you’d be lying if you said you weren’t a little curious as well.
katsuki was as ruthless as you’d known him to be, choosing to kill any girl that wasn’t to his liking, which ended up being all of them. much to the other boys’ chagrin, claiming he had no taste.
then your name was brought up.
at that, his eyes widened and he turned in his seat to see if you were watching. you had never turned your head away so fast in your life and you were pretty sure you heard something go “crack”.
he clicked his tongue. mumbling something about how stupid the game was before muttering out a “kiss yn, marry yn and kill that other bitch.” before getting up and stomping away, claiming he had to go to the bathroom followed closely by the whoops and hollers of his two friends behind him.
you both made eye contact when he walked out and you think you’ll never forget how red his cheeks were.
you were katsuki’s when he was the one to walk you to and from school everyday, claiming you would somehow get lost without him. you were katsuki’s when he had begrudgingly shoved homemade valentines day chocolates into your arms, mumbling something about how you had been upset nobody had gotten you anything last year, conveniently leaving out the fact he had scared off all the other guys trying to offer you anything.
you were katsuki’s when he grabbed your hand during the winter because he said you’d “end up dying of hypothermia with the way you’re chittering over there.” and you were his when you were the only person he laughed around. loud, genuine laughter that you and only you could squeeze out of him. you were katsuki’s when he randomly kissed you goodnight at your door one night and he’s been doing it ever since, and gets all pouty when you turn away from his kisses to tease him.
“are we dating ?” you had asked him. you’re both in high school now and you’re in his dorm room. your legs are on his lap and he’s got a comfortable grip on your leg, which tightens after he registers your questions “hah?” he looks utterly confused and a little insulted as he looks back at you, his entire face scrunched up in confusion. you pinch his nose and he swats at your hand.
“are we dating ? like—am i your girlfriend.” you say again and katsuki’s face scrunches up even harder. he huffs and looks back at his phone, landing a little smack on your leg still placed in his lap. “ ‘course yer my fuckin’ girlfriend.” he spits out, obviously irritated. then he looks back at you “I haven’t made it obvious ?” he says sarcastically. one of his eyebrows lifted as he pokes at your leg still very much in his lap.
you simply shrug “s’not that. it’s just because you’ve never actually asked me out before, so i was a little confused on where we stood.” you mumble. he stares at you while you speak and he stares a little longer before sighing. then he leans towards you and flicks your forehead.
“ow !”
“dumbass.” he murmurs. there’s a slight pout on his face and his cheeks are light shade of pink when he looks you in the eyes again. he grabs both your cheeks with one hand and smushes them together to push your lips out and presses multiple wet kisses onto them that have you squealing and squirming. his wet lips are pulled into a smirk when he pulls back and you try your best to at least look a little angry, you really do. but it’s useless when he looks at you like that.
“of course you’re my girlfriend” he reiterates. his smirk’s been replaced for something softer, something more sincere as he gazes at you with so much unadulterated affection it makes your head spin a little. “you’ve always been mine.” he says it in a teasing tone and his hand is still smushing your cheeks out and it hurts a little but his eyes are still the same. they’re warm and soft and so, so enamored with you and only you.
when he finally let’s go of your face and pulls you fully into his lap, you realize katsuki’s been yours for as long as you’ve been his.
you smile brightly at him but turn your nose up when he leans in to kiss you again. “i still haven’t heard what i wanna hear though, mr. bakugou.”
he rolls his eyes and pinches at your thigh as he mumbles out a “don’t call me that.” sighing, he looks at you intensely and you suddenly feel very shy.
“will you be my girlfriend, ya shitty girl ?” and he says it as a joke, you both know it is cus his lips are already forming into a smirk the second he finishes his sentence. and you’re pulling at his nose the moment you register it, but you’re both smiling hard. he laughs and you’re sure you’ll never get tired of the sound. “what’s your answer, pretty ?” he asks playfully and you pretend to really think it over just to mess with him, and giggling out a “yes!” when he suddenly pounces on you. flipping you both over and tickling you mercilessly, calling it revenge for you “taking too damn long to answer.”
you’d been katsuki’s for as long as you can remember, and you hope you can be forever.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
꩜ actor! toji x actress! reader
⤷ synopsis : you & toji deny the dating rumours, but you’re both being a little bit too comfortable with each other for your relationship to be just “platonic”.
sfw, fluff, toji is a little ooc <3
. art credits to deltapork on twitter
.. inspired by this post
… part 2, part 3, part 4

Tumblr media
꩜ first clip
you & toji are in an interview, one to promote the upcoming release of the action movie you both star in where you’re the main love interest. it is bound to be a huge success, judging by the interest and how everyone loves the chemistry you and toji have both in and out of film!
the interviewer asks you a question and while you’re responding you can feel someone staring at you. you turn to your left where toji is sitting, and he has his eyes dead set on you, not looking away for one second. you turn your focus back to the interviewer to continue answering, but you can’t help but turn back and see that he is still staring at you with his intense blue eyes. you repeat this a few times before cutting off your own sentence with a giggle and covering your face with your hands.
toji chuckles in confusion, looking at the interviewer and then back at you, bewildered. “what-whats so funny?”
you look at toji with your hands still covering your face. “toji, i can’t concentrate when you look at me like that!”
toji tilts his head, swiftly shifting his chair in your direction and leans closer to you, practically nose to nose at this point. “like what?”
“like that!” you laugh, covering your hot face once more as he and the interviewer laugh at your actions.
the interviewer chimes in. “i do have to say, your eyes can be quite intimidating..”
“see?!” you say to toji and then look to the interviewer. “thank you.”
toji huffs and just looks at you. and you look back at him with a small grin on your face.
you speak. “as i was saying…”
you repeat your response to the question and toji exaggeratedly stares at you and you attempt to ignore it (and fail).
꩜ second clip
this was a behind the scenes clip, where your cast member is speaking about his characters relationship with the other main characters but sadly for him, that is not where the viewers’ attention was.
in the background, they see toji sitting on a couch looking at his phone and then you walking into frame. toji looks up from his phone, and if you look very closely, he can be seen smiling at you. you walk over and plop down on the couch right next to him. you both talk to each other for a few moments, faces close together and then you lay your head on his shoulder, closing your eyes and taking what appears to be a nap. toji, moving as slowly as he can, takes a blanket that is already on the couch and drapes of over you. you snuggle closer to him, prompting toji to rest his head on top of yours. he does just that.
꩜ third clip
during an interview with you and the cast members, including toji, in front of a live audience, you somehow found yourselves on the topic of the types of cars you all have. you then remember how toji had told you about a motorcycle he owned, but you forgot which kind.
“i think i wanna ride on toji’s..motorcycle! i think-”
you hear the audience laugh and hear a few wolf whistles and you turn to your fellow actors, who are also laughing, especially gojo. you seem confused, but then you think back to what you said a second ago and feel your face heat up in embarrassment.
“oh, no no nonono-” shaking your head vehemently, “that is not-”
“toji’s motorcycle eh?” gojo teases while raising his eyebrows and wiggling his fingers, which only encourages the mockery and your desire to punch him.
you cover your face with your hand and sigh. “oh my god.”
while everybody in the room makes fun of you, you look to the left to see toji’s reaction and the camera pans to his smug smirking face.
“i mean i’m free friday night so..” he trails off, winks at you and the audience goes crazy and you shove your face in your hands.
“forget i even said anything!”
꩜ fourth clip
you and toji were recording a little vlog like video for the fans, talking about what it was like on set when you get onto the subject of what working with the other cast members is like.
“yeah gojo’s is pain in the ass.” toji states and shakes his head, fondly almost. “never stops running that big mouth ‘a his.”
spits of laughter fall from your mouth at his frankness. “uhh..yeah that’s true, gojo if you see this don’t be offended!”
“yeah we still like you we just..wish you’d shut the fuck up more often.”
“toji!” you gasp and slap his chest, “you’re no spring chicken either you know.”
toji scoffs and looks at you with a raised brow. “yeah, you’re a handful yourself.”
“what? no i’m not!” toji tilts his head and blinks. “everyone says i’m great to work with. you’re such a liar.” you roll your eyes with a laugh.
toji chuckles and moves closer to you on the sofa, and leans towards your face. “no ‘s alright. i have big hands.” he places a kiss on your cheek.
“ew, you’re so corny!” you lean away and wipe away his kiss, trying not to smile and look flustered.
꩜ fifth clip
this was a big day for y/n x toji lovers, when a movie you were both in won an award. now, neither of you were the main characters, but the fans made sure to make you both the most popular ones.
while the director is accepting the award, fans zoomed in on you and toji standing near the back of the group of cast members, where you’re tearing up and trying not to cry. you’re wiping your tears and toji looks at you and does a double take when he realises that you’re crying. he looks down at you and hugs you from the side, which makes you lay your head on his chest and wrap an arm around his waist. toji accepts this invitation and full on hugs you, kissing the top of your head softly and rubbing your back.
꩜ sixth clip
toji posts workout videos on his instagram stories. they’re mostly of him lifting weights and theyre rare, so fans cherish them.
and then theres a short video of you laying on top of toji’s back while he does pushups like it’s nothing. you’re smiling, spreading your arms out like you’re flying. toji suddenly starts going fast as fuck, making you bounce and almost fall off. you gasp and start hitting the back of his head while the person recording starts to laugh (most likely gojo).
you fall off toji’s back and lay on the floor like a starfish. the camera pans to a proud looking toji before you kick his face.
