MCU Characters + Love Hotel
Pairing: Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, Sam Wilson, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, Thor, Loki, Tony Stark, Kate Bishop, Peter Parker x Fem!Reader
Tags: mildly nsfw, suggestive, fluff, established relationship, teasing, mention of sex toys but no use, kissing, making out, grinding, stripping
A/N: With Valentine's Day fast approaching I wanna get you all in an extra romantic mood. What's more romantic then a love hotel?
Tumblr media
Steve has been to a few since being unfrozen. He's still not sure how to act in them completely and feels a little self conscious about taking you to one but if it's your first time visiting a love hotel he's gonna get a crazy looking room. Maybe a funny looking one to ease the tension or just a regular room for the two of you to spend a nice weekend in. Regardless you can count on soundproof walls and not being able to walk once he things get heated.
Tumblr media
Bucky hasn't been to many love hotels so you're both flustered even asking for a room. But it's Valentine's Day and he'll be damned if he's not gonna show you a good time. He can't help but admire the way the room looks though and gets a little carried away inspecting all the different options the two of you will be exploring soon. It's a good thing he can always pay for extra time.
Tumblr media
Sam has been on a few dates in love hotels before. It's never been anything too fancy for you he's gonna pull all the stops. You'll get the best experience. A little fidgety once you enter the room but that's only because he doesn't want you think he's just here for the sexy times, he wanted to get a bit of alone time with you, and in his experience love hotels can be pretty damn romantic with the right person.
Tumblr media
As a Black Widow there are few things that she hasn't tried or seen. Sure she has plenty of boundaries but she really likes to see the way you stumble and stutter when she suggests going to a love hotel for Valentine's Day. You can tell that she's been in places like these before because she knows the general layout of where things are once you enter the room. It's okay, you can take this slow, she's not gonna push you. There are a few... devices she'd like to try out but all in due time. You can just start with a kiss.
Tumblr media
Clint knows some really good love hotels that he can take you to and even a few interesting rooms, he's seen a lot in his time traveling, just depends on what you like really. He's very comfortable once you enter the room, locking the door behind you and point out a few interesting things that he thinks would be fun. But he's also happy to let you explore, slowly taking his clothes off so he's already half naked by the time you turn around.
Tumblr media
Thor has been to plenty of love hotels across the Realms. He feels almost at home in the room, casually walking around shirtless and putting on some relaxing music for the two of you to relax to. All but tackles you to the bed and starts kissing you hard and fast, enjoying your little giggles and the way your legs fall at either side of his hips.
Tumblr media
Loki is really bubbly to go into a love hotel with you. He's hugging you from behind the moment you enter the room and kissing your neck to help you relax. There is a ton of fun things you'll do, he told you about a lot of them already, many of them already having you excited, yet his voice, at mischievous as it is, it also soothing and his hands pressing and massaging your thighs to help you calm down.
Tumblr media
Tony fucking owns a love hotel. Yeah, he bought it just for the two of you, that way you can go anywhere you want, anytime you want, try out anything you want. He has a big romantic week planned for the of you. It's not a Valentine's Day anymore, it's the Valentine's Week. Why? Because he wants to have a full week full of romance and pleasure with you and no one's gonna stop him.
Tumblr media
Kate has only been to a few but she's always the same amount of embarrassed. She can hardly even make eye contact with you when you're in the room and is really shy to start kissing you at first. She suggests a bath to relax but that also ends up backfiring horribly because not only are you naked together in an even smaller space but you make the cutest sounds when she touches you. She's gonna die of cuteness before you even get to do anything if you keep this up.
Tumblr media
Peter has never been to one but he's always wanted to go. Valentine's Day is the best opportunity because he wants to be both smooth and romantic. Both of you are a nervous mess when you sit down on the bed, hands just drifting towards each other. It takes you a little to relax and ease up and once you do you both look back on it and realize that you were acting a little silly, it was just the two of you, no need to be embarrassed about anything, you're here to enjoy yourselves and each other.

Patch me up, my love
Tumblr media
(gif by dailymarvelgifs)
note: i have had zero motivation as of late as uni has been destroying me so i wanted to write something cute that wouldn't take up my entire brain so enjoy <3
ꗃ pairing: kate bishop x fem!reader
ꗃ warnings: teeny tiny bit of gore but mostly fluffy kate <3
ꗃ word count: 1.8k
summary: a wounded kate shows up at your house and you patch her up
─────────── ୨ ♡ ୧ ────────────
It was an awfully warm October night. The sky was murky, the pale, silver moon hid behind a blanket of grey rain clouds. The smell of damp earth in the air hinted at a downpour arriving soon. A small yawn escaped your lips as your eyes shifted to the clock on your desktop. It was quarter to two in the morning. You sighed, looking down at the binder beneath your palm. You had finally finished drafting the layout of an essay that was due tomorrow. Now it was time to type it all out. Your fingers slowly moved towards the various keys on your keyboard as they started typing a variety of letters one by one.
The past week had been rather slow and quite boring to say the least. Your Avenger girlfriend was off to a mission and you weren't thrilled about it in the slightest. You weren't delusional like the rest of the world who romanticised superhero life. You knew the risks that came along with being one and the sole thought of Kate never returning home from a mission has always terrified you, even though you knew for a fact that Kate was capable of quite literally anything. However, you mostly kept your thoughts to yourself as you didn't want to come off as the selfish, clingy girlfriend. And before these thoughts could consume you further, you quickly shifted your focus back onto the essay, but that didn't last long either. Your attention was swept away by a tap, almost like a knock on your window. You turned your head towards the sound and flinched at what you saw but were quickly comforted when realisation settled upon you.
Kate's dark, raven hair, the same shade as the inky night sky behind her, glistened under the silver moon. The glow from the white orb reflected against her dazzling sapphire eyes. The corners of her pale lips were lifted upwards into a shy smile. Her brows were upturned, the inner corners puckering a little. Your gaze moved to the thin stream of blood that dripped from the massive gash wound on her forehead. She lifted her right hand a little to wave at you while her other hand held the windowsill tightly so she wouldn't tumble down. Kate seemed awfully unbothered for a cut that deep in the front of her face.
You quickly rushed to your window, pressing the latch down to slide it open, "Kate, oh my god!" you cried out, grabbing her arm in your hands. You felt the rigid muscles of her bicep tighten even more under your grip as you pulled her in.
"Hey," she whispered in an apologetic voice while carefully standing up on the narrow windowsill as you helped her in. She stepped into your room, leaning down a little so she wouldn't hit her head on the wooden frame. Once inside, she threw her bow on the floor and her body slumped onto the couch by the window. A groan left her lips, "Patch me up, will you, my love?" she said in a dramatic tone, scrunching her nose at you a little.
"Katherine Bishop, how are you so calm about this?" you questioned, authoritatively as you simultaneously shut the window behind you.
"Because you're here, my love," she murmured, a subtle grin appearing on her blood smeared lips.
You groaned, rolling your eyes at her. You made your way to the kitchen as you quickly filled a bowl with lukewarm water and a few spoonfuls of sea salt. You opened the cupboard above the sink and pulled out the small white first-aid box that you had solely prepared for a situation like this. Deep down you knew a day like this would've come, regardless of how much you despised the thought of a wounded Kate showing up at your doorstep...or your window. But as of this moment, patching up Kate was your priority so you quickly rushed back to your bedroom.
You couldn't help but smile a little as you saw Kate lie so comfortably on your couch, her legs crossed as her hands rested on the armrest. You walked over to her side with the supplies and crouched in front of her, placing the supplies on the table beside. Kate opened her eyes slightly to look at you. Her rough, blood stained hand reached out to grab your arm as she tugged onto it lightly, signalling you to sit on her lap. That's when you noticed a cluster of tiny cuts all across her arm.
"No, Kate. Not now, you're hurt," you said while you dipped a cloth into the bowl of water. After pulling it out, you squeezed the excess liquid and looked up at her.
"Please, trust me," she insisted, tapping your arm with her fingers.
God, Katherine. You're so stubborn. You thought to yourself as you slowly got up and gently sat on her lap. You didn't want to put all your weight on her, it didn't feel right to but it was Kate and nothing would stop her if she had made up her mind. She wrapped her arms around your waist and pulled you closer as she leaned towards you, nuzzling her nose into the crook of your neck.
"Careful. Let me see your face," you ordered, cupping her face lightly and turning it towards you. Her eyes were shut but a very faint smile was visible on her bruised lips. You patted the moist cloth on the cut as Kate moaned softly every now and then. You dipped the cloth in water frequently and repeated the process a few times to clean the wound.
"I've got a door, you know?" you finally broke the silence as you picked up the bottle of antiseptic solution and a few cotton pads from the table.
Kate's eyes slowly fluttered open, a subtle smirk now accompanying the mellow smile from earlier. "Yeah, I know," she whispered, her hand reaching up to tuck a stray lock of hair behind your ear as she gently cupped your face, "I like the window better. Much more thrilling," she added, smugly. She leaned forward a little to tenderly press her lips to yours. You very gently reciprocated the action for you didn't want to hurt her but you realised how desperately you missed this. The way she held you ever so gently, the way her warm breath pecked your skin before her lips found yours, the way you felt her grinning as she parted from the kiss.
The corners of your lips had lifted up to form a gentle smile. You exhaled softly before pouring the antiseptic onto the pads. You dabbed the pad gently onto Kate's wound and felt her suppress a groan under her breath.
"This may sting a little," you whispered, examining the cut.
Kate nodded, squeezing her eyes shut but quickly threw her resolve away as you patted the wound with a little more solution. "Motherfu-" she paused but you noticed her fist on your waist that had tightly scrunched up the fabric of your shirt in it. You pulled the pad away but you couldn't help but smile at Kate's gesture. You leaned forward to blow some air at the wound to cool the stinging down a bit. After the wound was clean, you placed a piece of gauge on the cut and held it in place using surgical tape. Finally, you applied an antiseptic ointment on the minor cuts that were scattered all over her face and arms.
Once you had finished patching her up, Kate wrapped her arms around you, pulling you closer as she buried her face in the hollows of your neck.
"You've got to be more careful, Katherine," you whispered, caressing her cheek with the tips of your fingers.
"I know," she mumbled into your neck, tightening her grasp on your waist.
"As much as I love what you do, I really don't want you to do something reckless. I don't care what the stakes are," you added, wrapping the roll of gauge back into the casing. The words sounded extremely selfish once you repeated what you just said in your head but now you didn't care. Kate mattered to you and you were going to voice your concern before it was too late.
Kate sat up straight, her sapphire eyes meeting yours. The reminiscence of a deep sorrow was visible in them. Her hand reached up to touch your cheek as she caressed it. The rough surface of her palm gently stroking every inch of your skin.
"You know, people out there need me, love," she smiled a little, trying to hide the sadness in her voice. It had always pained Kate to choose between the two things she adored so dearly in her life. Her work and you.
You simply nodded, swallowing the lump that had formed in your throat. A sigh left your lips before you spoke up, "I know, but...I need you too," you whispered, shyly.
A bright smile spread across Kate's face. Her hand cupped the back of your head as she pulled your face closer to hers. Her lips lingered over yours for a while before she broke the silence, "And you have me, love. You always will, I promise," she whispered against your lips before finally pressing her lips to yours. The warmth of her breath felt enticing and pulled you right in. Your lips weaved together as though they were meant to be.
A delicate smile was now visible on your lips as they parted away from Kate's. She giggled before gently touching her forehead to yours. The two of you stayed silent for a while before you spoke up, "Now rest. I'll get you something to eat," you whispered, slowly trying to get up but Kate grabbed your hand and tightly intertwined her fingers with yours.
"No. Stay," she whispered back, squeezing you gently in her arms.
"I won't be long," you replied with a faint smile while cradling her face in your hands.
A sigh left Kate's lips as she loosened her grip on you. She pressed her back on the couch and nodded gently. You smiled before getting up and letting her hand go. You were about to walk out of your room but that's when Kate called out to you, "Y/N," her raspy voice echoed through the confined walls of the room.
You paused in your tracks and turned around. But before you could reply, she continued, "I love you," her eyes were gleaming, her mouth curved into a pleasant smile.
Your face lit up at her words. "Oh, sweetheart, I love you too," you whispered, your voice slightly breaking.
Kate smiled widely at you before dropping her head back on the headrest and closing her eyes. You glanced at her one last time before walking out of your room as you bit your lower lip, trying to hold the tears that had welled up in your eyes from spilling out.

It’s only been a week, you think to yourself as you stare at your phone.
A week since you’ve spoken to your best friend, or at least, the person that you thought was your best friend. You could sense that she was drifting away from you in the last couple of months, and yet there was nothing you could do to stop it. It was a helpless feeling, all you could do was stand by and watch.
Tumblr media
Kate was hired at the retail store that you had been working at through college. As a supervisor, you were tasked with training the brunette on her first day.
The shift started like any other, you walked into the back room to clock in. This time though, there was a person you didn’t recognize sitting in the office to the right of the hallway that you had to walk past to get to the time clock. The girl had raven-colored hair and a mix of ocean and emerald in her eyes. She wasn’t alone in the open space, one of your managers was in there chatting with her too, carrying on a casual conversation like they had known each other for years prior.
You noticed the way she sat in the chair; comfortable, with one leg propped up and her foot on the chair as the other spread to the floor like she frequented the place. By the way she held herself, you assumed she wasn’t new and had maybe just transferred from another store or something.  Thinking back on your first day, you would be way too nervous to make yourself at home like that, or even just carry on such a casual conversation with your manager in the way she was in that moment.
Not thinking too much of it, you grabbed your lanyard and your radio then headed downstairs to your station. Typically the closing supervisors got shafted with scheduling. The morning team always had multiple people at the desk, which meant the supervisor on duty was mobile to move around the store as needed; but when it came time to close, you were often scheduled alone. Not only was this frustrating because you hated being tethered to that desk, but closing duties involved getting everything ready for the morning. Ironic that you were responsible for getting everything ready for the morning when they had more staff on and were typically less busy.
The store you worked at was inside the mall which meant it had the potential to get very busy. Tonight was a weeknight in early October and the weather was good, so you didn’t expect anything more than a few customers an hour. No less than 20 minutes later, the girl from the break room came waltzing up to your desk with your manager.
“Y/N, this is Kate, she’ll be training with you tonight”
You hoped you didn’t show it visibly, but that’s the last thing you wanted to do. Nothing against Kate, but you hated training new employees in general. Not only did you doubt yourself as a teacher, but you often became frustrated when they didn’t catch on as quickly as you normally would.
As your manager walked away, you began showing your new teammate the layout of the desk and the POS system. Similar to earlier, you got the feeling that she had done this before. She was easily able to learn the ropes and by the end of the night, you were even able to send her off to ring at a register alone while another cashier took a break.
Tumblr media
The two of you became close fairly quickly and discovered you had a lot in common. From your shared love of archery, all the way down to your favorite restaurant.
“Where do you guys wanna go for dinner” Kate’s boyfriend, Peter, asked as you all got ready to leave
“Red Robin” Kate responded with no hesitation
You had used that same response with your family so many times they had stopped asking you anymore.
“Yes! That’s my literal favorite restaurant” you responded shocked at her answer
“No way, mine too!” she said, “they have the best sauces” you said in unison
It was such a small thing; but every time you told someone you wanted to eat at your favorite restaurant, they became visibly annoyed. The fact that Kate not only liked the place but also appreciated the sauces, made you so happy.
At first, you were both accompanied by other friends from work whenever you would hang out. Kate lived just a few blocks away from the college you were attending. Soon enough, you began hanging out in between your classes and on days you didn’t work; and when you weren't hanging out, you were on facetime together. Some nights, the two of you would even fall asleep on the phone together. Kate would usually fall asleep first, and in the beginning, you would hang up when you realized she was sleeping. That is until she complained that the beep of the disconnection woke her up. Not wanting to do anything to disturb her, you simply muted the mic and let the call run until she woke up in the morning to disconnect it herself.
You two became practically obsessed with each other, updating one another on every little thing in your life throughout each day. It didn’t matter if it was a regular daytime hour or 3 am; if something noteworthy was happening, you were the person she texted. Your heart practically fluttered when she called you her best friend; you didn’t know why you liked the sound of it falling from her lips so much, it’s like it had validated that the feeling was mutual, that she cherished you just as much as you craved her.
Kate had a way of simultaneously making you feel like the most important thing in her life and also like you were walking on thin ice around her. It wasn’t necessarily that she had a short fuse, but she was allowed to do things to you that you weren’t allowed to reciprocate unless she initiated it. To most people; maybe this would’ve been a red flag, but to you, well you were just happy to have Kate’s attention. You always had an underlying fear in the back of your head that one day she would get tired of you and no longer want you in her life. That could be your own fears growing out of proportion, but it was more likely because she would often casually slip the idea into conversation by saying things like, “when we are no longer friends” or “at least there’s one thing you can take away from this friendship”- always alluding to the impermanence of it. She made sure to always hold the power in your dynamic, and sometimes you didn’t even realize it. Other times though, you actually liked giving her all of the power. You liked being the reason she was happy, so much so, that you didn’t mind sacrificing your own joy for it.
Just like any new friend, you found something new about each other every time you got together. Kate wasn’t necessarily a rebel or anything, but she had a lot more experience than you in life. You often thought Kate was much cooler than you, and it was a wonder she was even your friend in the first place. You two meshed really well though, her extroverted personality was a good balance to your secluded demeanor.  Even though you were both the same age; Kate had moved hours away from her parents and was living on her own with her boyfriend, and she had really gotten the full college experience while studying abroad in Italy a year prior.
You had never done any of that, you still lived with your parents. You hadn’t even moved out for college because it was local and you could just commute. There were a lot of things you hadn’t done actually. You kept to yourself a lot and never really went to parties, you had never been drunk and honestly, you didn’t really understand what the point of it was. Can’t people just have fun without poisoning their bodies to have a good time? The idea of a romantic relationship wasn’t something you ruled out completely but you never specifically sought one out. There were occasional times when boys would give you their number or try and flirt with you, but you paid them no mind.
Being well into college, and of age; when Kate discovered you had never been drunk before, it seemed like she made it her new mission in life to give you that experience. You’d had alcohol before to taste it, but never enough to really feel any of its effects. Before you knew it, you and a couple of friends were over at her house with enough alcohol to throw a party. Kate didn’t technically force you to drink, but you knew that was what she wanted. You may have acted like you didn’t want to, but deep down, a little part of you wanted to experience it too, especially with her there.
Another reason that you didn’t really drink much was that you hated the taste of alcohol. There are plenty of options that disguise the taste well, but you didn’t really know any better. Until Kate showed you, she taught you all her favorite ways to mix drinks and they actually tasted… good?
By the end of the night, it was only you left at Kate’s house with her boyfriend.
“How are you feeling?” Kate asked you curiously
“Oh, I feel great” you said smiling, feeling on top of the world, “my face is numb”
“What?”
“My face is numb” You repeated as you slapped yourself across the face without flinching, “See, I didn’t even feel that!”
“Y/N!” Kate couldn’t help but laugh
“What?”
“Don’t do tha-”
“Maybe we should uh” you say not finding the right words while walking toward her bathroom
The brunette picked up on your queue and followed close behind you.
You kneeled on the gray tile in front of the toilet waiting for your insides to come back up. It’s not exactly that you felt like you were going to puke, but you felt off and from everything you had learned about alcohol, it always led to vomiting so you assumed this was where you needed to be.
Kate sat next to you rubbing your back and telling you that it was okay, as you settled on the floor. After nothing happened, you leaned your head against the white wall of her bathroom and closed your eyes.
In your drunken, and nearly passed out state; Kate took this as an opportunity to take a photo, she was the type of person that loved to document everything with photographs. She always took videos and pictures of both you and Peter whenever you guys went on adventures, sometimes Peter would get fed up posing for the photographs, but you never did.
“Come on, let’s get you in bed” Kate urged you as she propped you up and led you to her bed in the next room over.
As she laid you down on her mattress, Peter came walking in to prepare for bed.
“Do you mind sleeping in the living room tonight, babe?”
“Oh, uh. Sure, yea of course” Peter replied as he walked back out the door he just came through to set up the futon
Kate followed behind him as she headed to the kitchen to pour two glasses of water.
“Is she ok?” Peter asked from the living room
“Yeah, she’s just not used to feeling like this” Kate reassured him as she headed back to your side.
Noticing you were almost dozed off, she shook you gently, “y/n, sit up. Come on drink some water before you sleep”
“I’m not thirsty” you refused, slurring your words
“It’ll help you feel better in the morning, believe me”
Trusting Kate’s judgment, you unsteadily sat against the headboard and drank the water as you were told.
“Do you have a headache?”
You shook your head in response as Kate placed 2 pills on your nightstand, “These are for the morning then.”
After making sure you were all set for the morning, Kate climbed into the bed next to you, and you laid down. After settling down, she lay on her side and stared at you for a few moments, “Give me your hand” she stated
“Why?” you responded trying not to seem too eager, knowing you would never deny Kate of anything.
“Just- give it,” she said grabbing your hand as you feigned a struggle. Once your hand was in hers, she lightly dragged the tips of her fingers along your palm and then up your inner forearm.
The motion caused a tingling sensation to run through your body, something you hadn’t felt before. Your arm slightly tickled but the tingles also brought a pleasure that made your heartbeat feel like it was about to explode from your chest.
“Does that feel good?” Kate asked as you closed your eyes relaxing into the feeling.
“Mhm,” you murmured
Kate was a big fan of this feeling, every night she would have Peter lightly scratch her skin in the same way to achieve the sensation. On nights that Peter wasn’t there or simply didn’t want to do it, she would ask you to do it. At first, you thought it was a little strange, maybe crossing a boundary. But Kate and Peter both assured you that they were ok with it, it was completely platonic. Eventually, every time you would come over she would simply lay her arm across your lap and you knew exactly what it meant. As time went on, the spots she asked you to tend to were hidden by clothing so she would adjust and move the material. Not only did you love making her feel good, but you loved the fact that she wanted you to.
This was never something that you had been on the receiving end of, until now. You never expected her to reciprocate the motions because it didn’t matter to you if you got to feel good or not as long as she did. It was hard to tell whether the alcohol was enhancing the feeling or not, all you knew is the way her fingertips danced across your skin felt really fucking good.
Kate focused on an area for a few minutes before moving to the next while you lay there frozen, afraid to move and have it all come to an abrupt halt. She could feel your body stiffening like a wooden plank and tried to get you to relax.
“Y/N, relax” she softly spoke to you
“I am relaxed” you replied with your eyes pinned to one spot on the ceiling.
“Look at me” she said as she placed a hand on your cheek and pulled your eye line into hers, “Relax” she gently said again looking straight into your eyes.
“Ok, ok” you said trying to limpen your body.
“Come here” Kate decided as she saw you struggle to unwind. She pulled you in close so that your head was leaning on her and using her chest as a pillow. While the position was certainly more comfortable, you could now hear every breath and beat of Kate’s heart. It’s all you could focus on for a few minutes. Soon enough though, it lulled you into a nice calm state until sleep eventually overtook you in her arms.
Tumblr media
At some point in the night, Stella, a friend at the party had spilled almost an entire bottle of black cherry hard lemonade on the living room carpet. Kate cleaned it up when it happened, but that included nothing more than soaking the wet liquid with a cloth to absorb the spill and then carrying on with her drunken night. Needless to say, it needed a good wash.
A couple of days go by until you find yourself back on Kate’s couch for the night. As you’re sitting there, you see something out of the corner of your eye so you look down to see an ant scurry across the wood to the rug on the floor. “Ahhh” crescendos out of your mouth as you instantly jolt your foot over to stomp out the critter. Kate giggles at your reaction as she goes on to say that she's seen a couple in that area, and then she remembers that a sugary liquid was spilled in the same spot the other night. She hops off the couch to get the cleaner and you both move the couch off of the rug. You offer to help Kate clean the rug, not because you wanted to clean particularly but because you felt like standing there and watching would be kind of rude.
As you really got in there and started scrubbing, you noticed Kate backing away more and more as you did the physical work. Eventually, you scrubbed enough that the cleaner dissolved into the paper towel leaving a clean rug that the ants wouldn’t fancy for the sugar.
Peter spent a lot of weekends traveling back to his Aunt's house to visit which meant Kate was alone for a few days. When they first decided to move upstate, Peter was initially against it.
After losing his parents at such a young age, his Aunt felt like his rock. He wanted to stay in NYC while Kate finished her graduate degree. By this point though, Kate had already been studying abroad in Italy for 2 years and she missed having her high school sweetheart by her side daily. Ultimately putting her feelings above anyone else’s, she wasn’t sure how much longer their relationship would survive the distance. Eventually, Peter gave in and followed her upstate to support her dream.
You spent each one of the weekends that Peter wasn't there by her side. She hated sleeping alone because she ended up having the worst nightmares; so each weekend he was gone, you slept at her house. Other times, Kate would travel with Peter to visit her parents as well; and, already having a key to their apartment, she would ask you to house-sit for the weekend. Kate also had a bunny, sometimes she would bring her along to NYC, but most of the time it was too much work and she relied on you to care for her while she was away. You loved the feeling of being needed and the fact that she relied on you for things. The fact that she trusted you to care for her pet while she was away meant a lot to you. She treated her pet like her child, you knew she wouldn’t let just anyone care for her.
Within just a few months, Kate was promoted to supervisor alongside you. This wasn't surprising considering how easy she was to train. She was smart, thorough, and confident. This was both good and bad news. Of course, Kate deserved the promotion and the raise, but this also made it difficult for the two of you to schedule time off together. There were only a few supervisors in the store, and one had to be on duty at all times.
After some bickering with management,  it all worked out and you were able to go on a couple of trips together. The three of you, including Peter, very much enjoyed the outdoors. Just like the winter; that summer, you spent nearly every weekend together. Instead of skiing and snowboarding like you had done in the wintertime, you spent the summer camping, kayaking, and even going on a week-long archery trip.
The trip was a family tradition with Kate and her father. Peter had come a few times previously as well, but the fact that you were invited along was kind of a big deal. Then again, you both shared the same love for archery, it was a no-brainer to bring you along.
During your stay, the 4 of you stayed in a log cabin that you had rented out just a mile or so down the road from the event property. After many years of doing this, Kate and her father had wrung every kink out of the planning process and knew all the best ways to get the most out of the excursion. The cabin had its own balcony and screened-in porch that oversaw a large lake, and right behind it was a dock with plenty of boats that were available to guests at the resort.
Kate and her father loved to fish, so a few days out of the week the 4 of you got up early and went out on a boat to catch feeding time. On other days, you went out as the sun was setting. You seemed to have more luck at this time of the day.
The archery event was a lot of fun, for you and Kate anyway. Peter was bored most of the time and just wanted to go home, half the time he would sneak off to facetime his friends. The event showcased all the new bows that were releasing on the market in the coming fall, it had demo areas, challenging courses, and scheduled classes. Every day you were able to try something new.
You and Kate were like kids in a candy store, eager to try out each new bow a salesman had to offer. The coolest thing you found was that they were able to create the world's lightest compound bow by creating an alloy of magnesium and vibranium. It felt even lighter than your longbow with the added power of the compound bow. Kate was surprised by it too but she had never been a fan of compound bows; instead, her favorite part of the showcase was a recurve bow. With a recurve bow, she was able to keep her accuracy and gain even more power than a compound bow. Some may disagree, but there is no swaying Kate on this matter. In some ways, she was the most stubborn person you knew. To be fair, she was right most of the time so her stubbornness was rarely in vain.
What made this specific recurve bow neat was the fact that it was completely 3D Printed. She didn’t fully trust its functionality and strength but it was really neat to see that it had been done and could even be used without breaking. In fact, the salesman put the bow through countless stress tests and it didn’t even waver one bit. The problem with these tests though, is they know how to rig it so that it looks impressive, without actually showing any of the real flaws. Still though, you both stood there impressed.
There was a buzz going around that Stark Industries would be announcing a bow on the last day of the event in a huge presentation that could change the bow industry forever. While you doubted the impact would be as crazy as they made it sound, you knew Stark Industries had a reputation for creating groundbreaking technology so you were very excited to see what they had in store.
The whole week was a blast, each day after the event you would either come back to the cabin and go fishing or the 4 of you would play a board game to end off the evening. Sleeping arrangements were definitely complicated. Since there were only two bedrooms, it had been decided early on in the planning process that Peter would share sleeping quarters with Kate’s father and you would share a room with Kate. This way, it’s boys and girls and you’re not forced to sleep with a grown man that you just met. The first couple of nights went to plan, but Peter was getting irritable with the ungodly noises falling from the older man’s face during the night. Halfway through the week, Peter came in to ask if one of you would switch with him. When both of your answers resulted in a headshake, he climbed into the full-size bed with the two of you.
“We’re a throuple” Kate stated
“Sure” you uttered in slight annoyance. Kate loved referring to the three of you as a throuple even though that wasn't completely accurate. Maybe deep down that's what she wanted, but you're nothing more than friends. Best friends.
To say you were squished would be an understatement, Kate resided in the middle with you on the outer edge and Peter against the wall. You’d be lying if you said having Kate squished into you all night wasn’t something you enjoyed, but you enjoyed the alone time shared with her even more. The nights before Peter joined were filled with scratches and deep talks until one of you fell asleep.
By the end of the week, you were dreading having to leave. It had been so nice spending the entirety of each day with your best friend, and knowing she would essentially be stuck there with you the next day was… reassuring. Not that Kate needed to be forced to see you. To you, as long as you’re with Kate it didn’t matter what you were doing you were just happy to be doing it with her. Of course, when you leave this retreat, you’d still see each other, but how could you know for sure? She could just up and leave whenever she finally gets bored of you. The reality of that fact clouded your mind every day.
You’re not sure where the initial anxiety came from, maybe the fact that anyone you had made a good connection with always ended up slowly disappearing. Someone who you would spend hours talking to every day became nothing more than a person from the past. Slowly watching as their name in your inbox drifted out of sight. Or it could’ve been the fact that Kate would always talk about your friendship dissolving one day.
The fact is, most of the people we meet during our 20s are only temporary. Knowing that doesn’t make it hurt any less when they leave though. In fact, maybe it's even more painful because, throughout all the good times, you're just awaiting the day when you become strangers. After the cycle repeats itself a couple of times, you can’t help but think there is something wrong with you. The people you make the closest connections with never want to stay. Maybe you get too attached to people too quickly. But then you think, how could you? You always have your guard up, it isn’t until they show attachment towards you that you even begin to let them in. Maybe that's the problem, maybe they only like the shell of yourself that you show the world and not the one that actually cares for people.
“Y/N” Kate yells into the cabin from the porch, jolting you out of your spiraling thoughts.
“Yea?” You shout back as you make your way toward the door
“Come on! I want to get a good seat for the Stark event” she says as you open the door.
Tumblr media
You must’ve gotten to the event just in time because, even though there was already a line, it hadn’t really started to form until about 5 minutes after you two hopped in the queue. Looking back, there must’ve been 50 people behind you already.
About a half hour later, coordinators began ushering people through the entrance of the theatre. The auditorium was all decked out in Stark Industry’s logos on big screens to the side of the stage. Other than that it was well-lit so that you could all find seating.
“What do you think it’s going to be?” you whisper to Kate, trying not to be too much of a disturbance.
“I don’t know” she hissed, making it seem like it should be obvious that she wouldn’t know what the announcement could be. But, you weren’t expecting her to know. You were just excited and  wanted to pick her brain about what it might be, is that so bad? Maybe you should know better, if Kate doesn’t know what something is, she’s not going to make a fool out of herself and guess incorrectly. Either way, you decided it was best to keep to yourself until the presentation began.
As the presentation began, the lights in the theatre dimmed to make way for stage lights. The red and gold lighting set up a spectacular entrance by the one and only, Tony Stark. In the most charismatic way, this man explained a new bow tech that Stark Industries has been innovating. With the use of their new nano-tech, they have created the perfect bow. Or at least, that’s what they claim. The device transforms in a way that allows the user to store the bow in places like their pocket, or even around their wrist for easy transport. Unlike collapsable bows; once fully formed, this bow has no weak spots. The nanites temporarily weld to each other to make one solid object during use.
The exposition was filled with mind-blowing demonstrations. Tony sure knows how to present a product to the masses. You and Kate were so awe-struck and excited by the demo that you had trouble getting to sleep that night. The unobtainable price tag didn't stop your minds from racing at all the new possibilities.

Summary: Yelena and Kate go on their first mission together. While things seem to go very smooth at first, they soon realize it’s not going to be as easy as they thought.
Warnings: Angst, slight description of wounds

Natasha looked at the two women standing in front of her, her gaze shifting from Yelena to Kate as she inspected their faces. The two of them were getting ready to go on their first mission together, and she wanted to make sure both were ready for it. She was pleased to see that neither showed signs of hesitation or doubt, and she was very proud of Yelena for easily agreeing to go on a mission with Kate. The blonde had pouted and grumbled when she had been informed Natasha wasn’t joining them, yet she hadn’t made a fuss about doing it with Kate either. The young archer had been training hard for the past few months, and she had considerably grown better.
“Your mission is going to be very simple,” Natasha explained, pointing at the layout of the building one last time. “This is supposed to be a very quick one. You need to retrieve the laptop located in the furthest room to the left on the second floor,” She said, to which Kate and Yelena both nodded. They had studied the building and they had figured out the fastest route towards the room.
“You can count on several guards, since the laptop contains sensitive information about connections between Hydra and several important politicians. However, they’re not that high up the ranking list, so it shouldn’t be anything the two of you can’t handle,” Natasha smiled at them, pride filling her chest as she looked at two of the most important people in her life. They were ready.
“So, infiltrate the building, grab the laptop, fight off resistance and leave?” Kate summed up quickly, earning a nod from the redhead as she folded her arms.
“If you can avoid a fight, avoid it,” She said, now specifically looking at Yelena, who rolled her eyes playfully at her sister.
“Don’t worry Poser, Katie and I will grab that laptop before they even know we’re there,” Yelena said with a smile, gently nudging Kate’s arm with her elbow. Natasha raised an eyebrow at her sister, yet Yelena simply smiled. “We’ll be fine, no need to worry,”
“The building is located about an hour and half away from here, you two will take the quinjet to get there. Make sure you land it out of sight, so you don’t immediately give away your position,” The redhead said, earning a nod from Kate and a wince from Yelena, who remembered one of her previous missions.
“Yeah, lesson learned,” The blonde chuckled, folding her arms as she looked at Kate. “Are you ready to go? Or do you need to go get your stuffed bear?” She asked, causing the archer to puff her cheeks in annoyance and embarrassment. Ever since Yelena had found out Kate slept with a plushie bear, she felt the need to bring it up with every chance she had.
“I’m ready to go, are you sure you don’t need to bring your beard? You could distract the guards,” Kate shot back with a grin, ducking a little too late as she got smacked in the back of her head as Yelena almost growled at her.
“Kate Bishop, if you mention that one more time-”
“Alright ladies, quinjet is ready to take off, go get ready,” Natasha said, unable to hide her grin at the beard joke. Yelena pouted and folded her arms, watching Kate leave the room to collect her things. As soon as she was gone, the blonde’s eyes softened as she stepped closer to her sister to get some affection before she left.
“Promise me you’ll be careful,” Natasha said, pressing her forehead against Yelena’s. “I know it’s supposed to be an easy mission, but you never know… you have more experience, so if there’s sudden overwhelming danger, forget the mission and make sure you both escape, alright?” She asked, earning a nod from the blonde.
“Don’t worry Natashka, I’ll make sure the puppy comes back unharmed,” She smirked, earning a playful slap to the shoulder from the redhead, who couldn’t help but smile back. She knew Yelena wouldn’t abandon Kate, and the two of them were quite capable. She knew they would succeed.
About two hours later Yelena and Kate were sneaking towards the building, both armed to the teeth. They were currently hiding behind a piece of rubble, with Yelena grabbing her binoculars as Kate knocked an arrow on her bow, ready to take out potential snipers. After double checking, Yelena shook her head and turned to Kate. “Coast is clear, I don’t see any snipers on the roof,” She said to the brunette, who nodded. The two of them reached the front door, and with the assassin’s skills in lockpicking, they silently entered the building within seconds. Kate had her arrow ready while Yelena had a tight grip on her gun, yet there was, once again, nobody to be seen.
“Do you think we’re in the wrong place?” Kate whispered, causing Yelena to shake her head. “It’s this building for sure,” The blonde said, chewing her lower lip. Something didn’t feel right, however, yet she couldn’t exactly point out what yet. She decided to shrug it off for now as they made their way up to the second floor, Yelena taking the front as Kate covered the back. By the time they had reached the room with the laptop, they definitely knew something was wrong, for there were no guards anywhere.
“What do we do now? Do we simply go in?” Kate whispered, peeking inside of the room. Just like the previous rooms they had encountered, they were met with the silence of an empty room. Yelena glanced inside too, spotting the desk where the laptop was laying on top of. Everything was going too perfect, it was too easy, and it made her very anxious. Her attention shifted to Kate, who opened the bag meant for escorting the laptop.
“I say we go in quickly, I don’t think there’s anyone here,” She whispered, causing Yelena to shake her head and place a hand on top of Kate’s wrist.
“Kate no, listen to me, this doesn’t feel right… I think it’s-” Yelena whispered back, yet got interrupted as something small was thrown in their direction, landing not far from them. It took the blonde less than a second to realize what it was, and it made her blood freeze.
“GRENADE!” She yelled to Kate, pushing the archer through the doorway so they could get out of the blasting range. It exploded in the hallway, and a loud noise came from inside the room, as their enemy had pushed over the fake wall they were hiding behind. Ten armed men ran into the large room, and Yelena cursed loudly in Russian. It was a trap, and she had realized it too late. And now they were stuck and outnumbered.
“Get down and make sure you hit them!” Yelena whispered-yelled to Kate as they hid behind rubble and a fallen over desk. The widow and archer took their shots and, while being outnumbered, easily managed to take out half of the enemies in the room, keeping them at bay. Yelena was used to situations like these and, while they stressed her out, she didn’t lose her cool. While this was still relatively new to Kate, the archer managed to remain focused, keeping her emotions and nerves under control.
That was, until a loud shot echoed through the room, and Yelena let out a cry of pain. While they had been focused on the enemies in the room, the blonde had failed to notice a sniper aiming at them from a building across, getting a clear shot on the assassin’s leg. She immediately fell down on one knee behind the rubble and grabbed her right leg, a sharp, burning pain overwhelming her senses. She groaned loudly as blood started to drench her pants, dripping onto the floor. Kate gritted her teeth and wasted no time, shooting an arrow through the sniper’s head before looking at Yelena.
“Oh my god! Okay I think I killed him, but we need to get you out of here,” Kate said, noticing the increasing puddle of blood on the ground. Yelena nodded with a grunt, fully leaning on her functioning leg. When she scanned the room for a safer hiding spot, her eye fell on a red light on the wall above Kate, and her stomach dropped. They had placed a pair of explosives on the ceiling, and one of them must have activated it as the red light started flickering fast. Kate had noticed the beeping sound too, yet it was too late as the bomb exploded, part of the ceiling falling down fast.
Without a second thought Yelena gathered all the strength she had and leaped forward, pushing Kate out of the way by crashing her body into her. The archer fell onto her back, safe behind another piece of rubble, yet the assassin wasn’t fast enough. She fell to the ground with a scream of pain as her right leg got crushed underneath part of the collapsed ceiling, pinning her to the floor. Kate looked at her with wide eyes, her emotions no longer under control as anger started to take over. The overwhelming pain and loss of blood made the room spin violently, as she turned her gaze towards her friend.
“Katie… get out…” She was able to say, consciousness leaving her fast. She heard Kate yell her name distantly, and then everything went dark.
–––––––
Yelena slowly opened her eyes with a groan and immediately noticed two big changes. Her right leg was no longer being crushed by a heavy weight, and, while it still hurt a lot, the pain was considerably less than before. Her head was light and she felt like she was floating, but at least she was conscious again. Kate’s head snapped up as she heard the soft groan, relief visibly washing over her. She was currently sitting in front of the blonde, shielding her with her own body from possible attacks.
“Oh my god! Oh thank god you’re awake, I was so worried! I called Natasha for backup, they should be here within half an hour!” Kate looked as if she could cry then and there, Yelena noticed. She also noticed wooden planks secured tightly on her own lower leg, splinting the presumably broken bone, and a piece of cloth wrapped tightly over her thigh where the gunshot had been. It wasn’t done in a professional way, but Yelena knew Kate had done everything she could to take care of her leg.
“You were losing blood fast… the bullet went right through your leg, so I had to stop the bleeding as quickly as I could,” Kate explained as if she was reading her mind, once more scanning the roof for danger. She had managed to shield the two of them by placing wooden boards against the rather low edges of the roof, providing protection against possible snipers. The blonde noticed one of Kate’s arms was bare and bleeding, and she realized with a frown that Kate had ripped off one of her sleeves to tie her leg, while ignoring her own wounded arm. While it was small, she couldn’t help but feel grateful at the act of selflessness.
“What happened after I passed out?” The blonde asked, attempting to sit up, only to be gently pushed down again by Kate. “No no, stay,” The brunette said to her, making her frown slightly. Why wasn’t she allowed to sit up? Kate swallowed as she tried to get her thoughts in order, seemingly still overwhelmed by everything that had happened.
“After you pushed me out of the way, a big block of concrete fell onto your leg, and I think it’s broken on several spots,” Kate explained, looking at the floor between them. “You were laying there and you didn’t move, and I got so scared and angry… I managed to take all of them out, but by the time I pulled you from underneath the rubble, you had lost so much blood…” The archer said, wincing as she pictured the unmoving body of her friend again. “I injected medication into your leg, to help you deal with the pain, but it’s not safe for you to stand up,”
Yelena nodded and closed her eyes, trying to make her surroundings stop spinning for a moment. The dizziness was due to the loss of blood, and the emotional burst was probably a side effect of whatever medication she had gotten. As she opened her eyes again, Yelena saw the bag with the laptop, sitting between them to the side. Not only had Kate taken out the remaining enemies, she had brought her to safety, tended to her wounds and had gone back to retrieve the laptop, all while she was hurt herself. While Yelena had previously never felt like admitting it, she was impressed with the young girl.
“Kate, I-”
“I’m so sorry!” Kate suddenly blurted out, making Yelena blink in surprise. “I should have known it was a trap, and I should have listened, and I should have seen the bomb on the ceiling! It’s my fault you got hit by the rubble and I’m so, so sorry,” The brunette apologized, sounding near tears. Yelena looked at her for a long moment before mustering up a small laugh.
“Are you crazy? I’d never hear the end of it from Natasha if I let you die in such a stupid way,” She said with a chuckle. Kate smiled a little, yet it didn’t reach her eyes. Yelena stared at the concrete floor, chewing on her lower lip.
“And… you know… I didn’t want you to die in such a stupid way either,” She admitted with a mumble, closing her eyes again. Yelena had no idea how or when it had happened, but she’d grown fond of the idiot next to her. At first she had seen Kate as an annoyance, someone in her way to Natasha. However, over time she had learned to appreciate Kate for who she was, and they had become good friends later on. Yelena let out a chuckle as she realized how fitting Natasha’s nickname for Kate actually was. The young girl was clumsy and sometimes messed things up by accident, yet she was one of the most loyal people she’d met.
Kate looked at her with wide eyes, an even wider smile slowly appearing on her face as she realized the weight behind those words. Yelena opened one eye and noticed the goofy smile, and immediately rolled her eyes.
“Also, if you interrupt me again, I’m going to throw you off this roof myself,” She added, earning a hearty chuckle from Kate this time.
“Thank you, Yelena… you saved my life by pushing me out of the way,” Kate said, a blush covering her cheeks as she shuffled a bit closer to the blonde. “I know you don’t really care for me in the same way as I care for you, but it truly means so much to me,” The archer admitted with a smile. Yelena closed her eyes again, considering her next words carefully.
“Kate, I want you to listen to me,” Yelena said, knowing Kate was looking at her, even with her eyes closed. “First of all, you’re an idiot,” She said, a smile tugging at her lips as she heard Kate scoff next to her. “Second of all,” Yelena continued, opening one eye to look at Kate again. “You’re even a bigger idiot if you still think I don’t care for you,” She said with a soft smile. Kate looked blankly for a moment, before blinking multiple times, obviously trying to hold back tears.
“And third, this doesn’t mean I’ll stop bullying you. In fact, I think I’ll bully you even more now, actually,” She said with a smirk, earning a groan and a giggle from Kate.
Yelena propped herself up on her elbows, gritting her teeth in pain as she gave her leg another look. It was bad - she was pretty sure it was one open leg fracture at least - yet the splinting had saved her leg for the biggest part. Kate’s quick thinking was probably the only reason her leg would heal properly.
“And I should be thanking you, Kate,” Yelena said, making the archer’s head snap up. “I screwed up royally. I should have known it was a trap, and yet you still managed to take control over the situation after I blacked out. You have grown,” She said with a nod of approval. “And you may have been the only reason I’ll still be able to walk after this, so… thank you,” She said with a genuine smile. Kate covered her mouth with her hand, attempting to hide her ridiculous smile while blinking her tears away again.
“Okay I take it back, if you dare to get your snot on me, I’ll murder you,” Yelena warned, yet couldn’t help but chuckle at her friend. Kate nodded with a smile, before chewing her lower lip as she looked at Yelena.
“If you want… you can rest your head on my legs until the helicopter arrives,” Kate offered, and Yelena wrinkled her nose in disgust. “Kate Bishop, I almost lost my leg and you’re trying to get your germs on me?” She asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
“Oh…” Kate was speechless for a moment, yet before she could apologize Yelena rolled her eyes and let out a soft cackle.
“I’m joking, come here, I guess your leg is better than this super hard floor,” The blonde said with a groan. Kate immediately shuffled to Yelena with a happy smile, gently placing Yelena’s head on her lap. The Widow closed her eyes again, drowsiness and pain once again taking over.
“Don’t worry,” Kate said, keeping an eye on the horizon. “Natasha will arrive soon, I know it. And nobody’s getting close to us until she’s here,”
–––––––
Kate sat on one of the chairs in the hallway, her leg bouncing nervously as she waited outside of Yelena’s room. Natasha had jumped out of the helicopter before it had landed safely, bolting towards her sister to inspect the situation and to carry Yelena. Once her sister was inside, Natasha had quickly inspected Kate for grave injuries. When it was clear the archer had only suffered minor injuries, they had hurried towards the hospital, to take care of Yelena.
Kate’s ribs were bruised and her arm got a graze from one of the guns, but other than that she was fine. As soon as her wounds were treated, she hurried to where Yelena and Natasha were staying. After what seemed an eternity, the door opened as Natasha stepped outside, making Kate instantly jump up from her seat.
“How is she?” The brunette asked, her eyes wide with worry. She inspected Natasha’s face carefully for any indication of bad news, sadness or worry, and calmed down when she didn’t seem to find any.
“She’s asleep now, they had to put her under since they needed to perform surgery on her leg,” Natasha explained, causing Kate to swallow. “She lost a lot of blood, and her leg is in a bad shape… she has three fractures, the biggest one being open,” The redhead continued, her jaw clenching as she took a deep breath. “However, it’s nothing they can’t fix, and you gave the doctors a big advantage by splinting her leg. She’ll be fine,” Natasha said with a small smile. Kate felt relief wash over her, her legs feeling wobbly as she sat herself down again.
“Oh thank god… I’m so happy,” She expressed, taking deep breaths as she tried to calm herself again. Natasha nodded, looking back towards the door.
“She got very lucky, the block narrowly missed her knee… if that had gotten shattered, there was a big chance she would have been cripled, or walking around with a metal leg,” Natasha said, her jaw clenching again. Kate rested her head in her hands, before looking up at the older woman.
“Natasha, I’m so sorry, I should have seen the explo-” Kate said, before suddenly being tugged forward straight into the redhead’s arms. Natasha hugged her tightly, burying her face into Kate’s neck.
“Thank you so much for saving her,” The older sister said, sounding near tears herself. Kate immediately wrapped her arms around Natasha’s shoulders in a tight embrace, letting out a sniffle herself. She realized Natasha had probably nearly gone crazy with worry after her call for help, feeling horribly guilty for sending them into a mission way more dangerous than anticipated. The two of them got very lucky, and Kate only now realized how badly it actually could have ended.
“She saved me, Tasha, it was the least I could do. I care so much about her,” The brunette said with a smile, blinking her tears away yet again. Natasha pressed her hand against the back of Kate’s head, pulling her closer.
“I’m so glad you’re okay, sweetheart,” The older woman said with a smile, pressing her forehead against Kate’s. “I know I was all over the place with Yelena’s condition, but I’m so glad you’re okay and I’m so proud of you,” She said, smiling as Kate let out a giggle.
“I just wanted to bring Yelena to safety,” The archer said, yet she was obviously glowing with pride from Natasha’s words. The redhead placed a kiss onto her cheek.
“You impressed all of us today,” Natasha added, making Kate blush and stare at the ground with a wide smile. “You secured the laptop, you took out the enemy while you were outnumbered, and you brought the two of you to safety. There’s always a chance things will go horribly wrong when you’re on a mission, but you acted like a true Avenger today. You should be proud,” The redhead gently squeezed Kate’s neck, smiling as the brunette let out another giggle.
“Thank you Tasha… I thought that today was a disaster, and I kinda feared you would be mad at me for getting Yelena badly injured,” She admitted, to which Natasha shook her head.
“Missions are risks, and it wasn’t your fault, sweetheart. Now, why don’t you come with me inside,” She suggested with a smile, nudging her head in the direction of Yelena’s room. “I’m pretty sure she’ll want to see you when she wakes up,” She added with a wink. Kate looked at her as if she’d just gotten the best gift ever, nodding eagerly.
“I’d love to,” She smiled, following Natasha inside. And while they sat next to each other, waiting for the younger sister to return to the room, all Kate could think of was the fact that she had grown even closer to Yelena. And it filled her heart with joy.

hi! i LOVE the way you made the comic strip in this post and was wondering if you'd mind explaining how you made it?: post/720743054291746816/elios-25k-party-kate-bishop-for-chikoriita
hiya!! sure, i can definitely explain! :)
for the layout, it's the classic 177px, 178px, 177px! you can find an explanation on how that's done here.
i chose scenes that didn't have too much movement so that it would be easy to colour them. i'm currently working on a colouring tutorial, so i won't go into detail about this part of the process here, but there are tons of other great colouring tutorials floating around on this site if you're curious to know more!!
at this point, i just went to google images, typed in "kate bishop comics" (any wording similar to this will get you good results). when i found the comic page/strip/image that i liked, i saved it to my computer and opened it on photoshop.
i used the polygonal lasso tool to cut out the speech bubble, then dragged it onto my canvas that had 3 gifs. i sharpened the speech bubble a bit so it wasn't as blurry, then placed it accordingly after sizing it down. (you can also play around with the brightness/contrast and levels adjustment layers if you want your speech bubble to be brighter!)
that's essentially the process i had for the comic strip -- i hope this was helpful! sorry that this wasn't not a full tutorial, i just don't have the capacity to make one right now but i know i'll never get to actually explain if i don't do it this way >:0 so, feel free to ask more questions at any time and i'll do my best to clarify!! :)
