Casey Jones Junior as an Obsessive Lover
As we are all aware, Casey Jr. was raised during the apocalypse. His whole life was intense and scary. His whole life, he must have needed to let go of things that weren't a priority, and to keep a death grip on anything he considered precious.
So imagine with me, if you will, Casey Jr in the modern day, after saving the world. He's working towards his GED, he's got a job, and while he's still kicking ass to protect the world, he is learning to experience and adjust to long-term mundanity. He doesn't know how to do things in moderation, so when he finds his love, he falls hard, and doesn't believe that any line is too far to cross, not if it ensures his darling's safety and comfort.
---
Imagine with me, if you will, waiting outside of Casey's work. It's late at night, but the shop is closing up, and Casey texted saying that he'd be out in five minutes. But New York is New York, no matter the circumstances, and a man approaches you. He's not being too overly creepy, but you have a bad feeling, and only give short answers, trying to end the interaction as quickly and safely as possible. Despite your best efforts, things escalate quickly, and the man tries to put a hand on you. And yet before you can even process the fact that he had tried to touch you, he's on the ground, Casey on top of him. Each and every one of Casey's hits lands hard, the stomach churning sounds of harsh impact, the man's wails, and the cracking of bones causing your knees to become weak, and bile to rise in your throat. Even after the man was resigned to quiet whimpers, Casey didn't let up, not until your legs finally give out on you, and you begin to stumble backwards. Then, in an instant, Casey is there, bloodied hands catching you, stabilizing you as much as they startle you. And when he speaks, there's a deranged edge to his voice, it's still sweet and loving, but there's a dangerous concern lacing it,
"Are you okay, Baby?"
He moves one of his hands to cup your cheek, guiding you so that he can give you a good once-over, and you can feel the blood transfer to your skin. It sends both shivers down your spine, and warmth to your belly.
---
Imagine with me, if you will, coming home to him after a long day. Your phone is dead and you got stuck in traffic, you're running maybe around half an hour late. When you finally get home, and open the door, you find Casey pacing and tugging at his hair, staring at his phone, his heavy footfalls echoing through the apartment. Imagine him borderline panicking, relief washing over his features when his gaze finds you, though you can see that intensity burning in his eyes. He rushes to you, taking you into his arms, and squeezing before pulling back just enough to gaze into your eyes.
"Are you okay? Did something happen? You weren't answering your phone!"
He panics, and dotes on you the whole night, becoming extremely clingy. He will insist on transporting you to and from any engagements for the next week, and will do his best to convince you to let him put a tracker on you- and of course he will let you put one on him!!

Thoughts on a Hatchetfield/Fantasy High crossover
So, I know the odds are good that I'm sending this into a very niche void, but I also know that these fandoms overlap, so... yeah. Basically, this is a world where the Bad Kids (and I guess pretty much every character in the world of Spyre, but the Bad Kids are who we're focusing on) are seemingly normal humans living in Hatchetfield, with all the weirdness and danger it entails.
Let's get into it.
Fabian: He's a rich kid living in Pinebrook, the star quarterback of the Nighthawks, and is one of the most popular kids in school due to being rich, good at sports, and surprisingly nice---and he's dating Ragh, though that's something that's a bit on the down-low due to them worrying they'll get kicked off the team and Ragh not being quite ready to come out. Honestly, Fabian really shouldn't be tied up into the spookiness, if you take him at face value... except for the fact that both of his parents are very much tied into it. Haleriel's family has been in Hatchetfield since the beginning, and while they're not tied with the Church of the Starry Children or the Hatchetmen, they do have some serious occult connections. And Bill... well, as far as everyone knows, he's an Irish fencer who got into the big leagues, retired, and took up pirate LARPing in his spare time. All of that is true, except for the fact that he is, in fact, an actual seventeenth-century pirate who got on Tinky's bad side and wound up in 2000s Hatchetfield. Fabian doesn't know about this yet, but he will.
Gorgug: The result of a secret relationship between two Abstinence Camp junior counselors, Gorgug was originally raised in secret in Witchwood Forest until he was three, when he was found and promptly put up for adoption. By then, he was already unusually large, strong, and angry for his age, but he still found a loving home with the proprietors of Thistlespring Mechanics. Gorgug thankfully never got to the monstrous level of Lil' Gerry, and he can pass for a normal kid if you ignore his height... however, he has been homeschooled for a good portion of his life due to constantly having manic outbursts that took years to learn how to keep under control. When he finally goes to Hatchetfield High, Fabian and Ragh take him under their wing---if only because they took one look at him and realized that he'd be perfect for the Nighthawks---and Gorgug definitely begins to shine due to having friends. Still, though... you can never really get rid of how Witchwood Forest changes you.
Riz: Now, he is very much aware of all the crazy, scary, and inexplicable things that go around in Hatchetfield, to the point of becoming a paranormal investigator---YouTube channel and all. His mom isn't really sure what to make of this, but she's a cop, she's busy, and it mostly keeps Riz out of trouble. As far as he knows, his dad worked for the military, and he assumes that he died in combat (in reality, though, Pok was a PIEP agent who got killed by Blinky). Riz has a part of his paranormal investigator business that's open to him taking on cases for others, but people don't tend to take him up on the offer, and he's usually investigating strange happenings by himself. That is, until...
Fig: Unlike in canon, Fig has always known that Gilear was her stepdad, not her real dad, but she still considers him her dad---mostly because that for a good deal of her life, she grew up thinking that her real dad was a deadbeat who left her. After Gilear and Sandra Lynn get divorced, however, Fig decides to finally start looking into her biological dad... and she discovers that he didn't skip town as she initially believed, but he went missing shortly before she was born. The case went cold, and all that's known is that he was attempting to stop the Honey Festival---specifically, the pageant---before he disappeared. Fig, who's recently developed an interest in the occult, realizes that there's something sinister going on there, and she hires Riz to help her find out the truth. (Vague spoilers: Gorthalax---or, well, Gordon T. Ax---is alive, but he's been trapped by Nibbly as punishment for successfully interfering and saving the Honey Queen)
Kristen: She's essentially the Grace Chastity of this universe, just without the crazy---church girl, teacher's pet, yet actually a nice person who doesn't really realize just how messed up her parents' beliefs are. Though she doesn't know the details about the Black & White, her parents are part of a group that are descended from the original Hatchetmen, and they've taught her that anybody who has The Gift is inherently evil. Of course, Kristen has always had the power to magically heal others, and she's kept this hidden from her parents her whole life---which becomes harder as her powers start getting stronger. And then she starts having a sexuality crisis and a crisis of faith, triggered when she befriends the niece of Hatchetfield High's new guidance counselor. So, yeah, Kristen's not having a good time.
Adaine: Her family recently moved to Hatchetfield from London, supposedly because her dad's job changed. In reality, her parents are devout followers of Wiggly and the other LiB, and they know that Hatchetfield is the focal point of their power (and no, Alewyn doesn't know about this, but she does know more about the spooky stuff than she's letting on). For her part, Adaine has psychic powers similar to Hannah, right down to having Webby as an imaginary friend, but she keeps this secret from her parents... mostly due to the time when she was little and told them about Webby, and the reaction was pretty negative. On top of her powers, she's also struggling with her anxiety disorder, her gifted kid complex, and the general stress of going to a new school in a new country... so, it helps when she gets adopted by Kristen and Fig at the same time, and Webby immediately takes a liking to them both. Through Fig, she meets Riz, and then she meets Fabian at one of her parents' awful functions, and he introduces her and everyone else to Gorgug... and the Bad Kids can begin.
I've got a lot more ideas about this---mostly involving Ayda, Arthur Aguefort, the O'Shaughnesseys, and some fleeting concepts about The Seven---but that's for another post, so... yeah.

The SCP doctors' reaction to finding out their friend or s/o (who presumably didn't even know what they did for a living) has some kind of anomaly and has been contained? :0
SCP DOCTORS FINDING OUT THEIR S/O IS CONTAINED.
characters: Dr. Bright, Dr. Kondraki.
DR BRIGHT
★ He found out after a week you've been contained.
★ On that week he really thought you died or something, he called you every day, broke into your apartment to see if maybe you were ignoring him,,, for some reason. He asked your neighbors and they seemed confused because no one with that names has ever lived there.
★ And he started putting the pieces together, there was no way they didn't remember you, unless a third party was involved.
★ So after a week, he has a little 'chat' with his older brother and not only it starts a verbal fight but it gets physical, Bright demanding they let you go or he gets assigned to you, being the only one that has access to your files, is able to interview you etc.
★ At first the just allowed Bright to give you a visit per week, but after seeing that you were not willing to cooperate unless he was around to explain what the fuck was going on they had to approve his 'petitions'
★ Once you two were able to finally talk for more than 30 minutes, Bright understood if you didn't want to be his partner anymore, but he still will be the one to 'take care of you' in his words.
★ If you choose to still date him, let's all be honest here, chances are you will be able to become a junior researcher or something like that, the Bright family can move a lot of strings in the foundation.
DR KONDRAKI
✴︎ He pretty much prefer dying before you found out about the foundation, he knew something was up with you but you never did anything wrong in his eyes, so why worry?
✴︎ Your anomaly was weird, in a way that it isn't exactly dangerous, but it has an impact in others. Any strong emotions you had would make others around you have them too, if you are really sad, people around you will feel sad too, if you are mad chances are that someone is going to start a fight.
✴︎ But you were a sweetheart, you were always happy and you brought happiness to everyone around you, that's what Kondraki loved, with you he finally could feel calm and warm inside.
✴︎ He knew the foundation took you a few days after because Draven told him.
✴︎ My dude was mad, he went straight to your cell and demanded to be let in, being a Site Director and all they let him, but when he was outside your cell he could already feel it, his chest felt heavy and his eyes were watering.
✴︎ When he came in he saw you sitting on the floor, hugging your knees and crying, he didn't even realize when he started to cry too.
✴︎ When you noticed him it was like a switch, the heaviness in his chest turned into words that wanted to get out, his hands turned into fists.
✴︎ One look at you and he knew, you were angry at him, and you started yelling for some kind of explanation, this was the first time he ever saw you mad and honestly? it was scary because he could literally feel it.
✴︎ He tried to explain, but you needed some time to calm down and he left.
✴︎ A few days went by and when he went to see you again you were,,, you were talking to the guards that protected your cell like they were your friends.
✴︎ I mean, at least you weren't going to kill him now.
✴︎ He talked to you and you told him they already explained it, he felt guilty for not telling you before but oh well, you are here now so it doesn't matter anymore.
✴︎ You would be allowed to hang around the site with two guards escorting you, if Draven can and they allow it, he is going to be one of the guards.

✨Reunion.✨ (Phillip Graves x Reader)
Tumblr media
A continuation of this post.
*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*
They were being watched. You saw that black van several times a day driving through your street. Sometimes it was parked on the side, and while the windows were tinted you could tell someone was inside. Part of it was thanks to the training Phil had given you when- well. When your loving fiancé had still been around to care for you. Telling you he would have people come after him, that would try and hurt her to get to him. Jokes were on whoever was trying to hurt them now, since Phillip hadn’t been around for two years. Losing his life in Mexico, in a fight that he thought he could win, but ultimately didn’t. Leaving behind his fiancée and his son. Not that Phillip knew he was a father, you had learned about your pregnancy after his ashes had already been delivered to your house. The same house you had bought together on your fifth anniversary to live together and grow a family. You still sat with the urn in the evenings, telling Phil all about your day and your little one. The pregnancy hadn’t been easy, but Nathaniel had been nothing if not supportive. Nathaniel Graves- your late fiancé’s older brother. You supposed he felt guilty for his brothers’ demise, and tried caring for you the best he could.
With the birth of Phillip Junior, named after his late Father, your world took on a new priority. Some nights had been tough, and they still were. The little munchkin was old enough to toddle around now, and babble a few words to show what his needs were. Another hard pill to swallow for you was the fact that little Phillip was a carbon copy of his papa. Dirty blonde hair and the same blue eyes you had fallen in love with. And the same attitude. It made you miss the grown man even more, with the way your toddler demanded appy slices. Phillip hadn’t left a will, not that you were made aware of anyway, but his brother had left you a sizeable amount of inheritance money. It enabled you to quit your job and care for your son properly, the way the little boy needed. Phil had always wanted you to be a housewife. Provide for you, knowing he made the numbers easily for a comfortable life. You’d always denied his wish, wanted to earn your own money. One child later, and widowed while not even married and you granted Phillip his wish.
Phil’s second in command had come around to collect all files and evidence of Shadow Company 6 months after the incident. Theodore Wiscon was a scary man. 6 feet 5 inches in height, broad shoulders and a strong muscled torso. He had kind eyes, and the way they had softened even further seeing your baby bump, you couldn’t help but let Uncle Theo be a part of your son’s life. Now- Theo only came around sporadically. What, with having to run Shadow Company now in absence of your fiancé, but he made sure to spoil your little man rotten whenever he did. He’d also been kind enough to pay you a monthly allowance, assuring you it was what Phil would’ve wanted. The first thing you did when you noticed the van was text Theo about it. He’d asked you to do so, whenever you thought you were in danger. Two men of Shadow Company showed up at your door only hours later, looking at Phillip playing on living room floor. Telling them about what you had seen, the taller one of the two assured you they were going to make sure nothing would happen. He’d introduced himself as Vance. The other one stayed woefully quiet, before introducing himself as Matthews. They informed you they were just going to have a look around, to make sure there wasn’t an immediate threat.
The two men stayed around for a while, sleeping in the guest room that you had turned Phil’s old office into. It had hurt you to change the room, open up a window to air out the lingering scent of Phil’s cologne. You fed Vance and Matthews for the better part of two weeks, the two made sure to pay special attention to the little boy sitting on a big boy chair already, brabbling about all kinds of things, with some normal words mixed in between. Theo wanted to see them after those two weeks, and Vance and Matthews made sure to escort you. Matthews sat behind the wheel, while you were squished in the backseat with Phillip and Vance, the latter having a gloved hand on his weapon and watching the neighborhood as they left. The security system was live when they left, both Theo and Nathaniel had made sure to get you and Phillip the best one there was. One that send an alert out to Shadow Company so they could come and help you. They were faster than the cops most days anyway. Phillip was ecstatic to visit Uncle Theo at work, climbing all over the mountain of a man and wanting to sit in all of the armored vehicles they walked past. According to Theodore, the neighborhood was clean and there was no one suspicious around.
Vance and Matthews drove you and Phillip home a day later, the two of you having stayed the night on base of Shadow Company, if simply for the little boy to enjoy Uncle Theo’s presence. They dropped you off at the end of the street as to not rouse more suspicion from your neighbors. Phillip needed to stretch his little legs either way. Feeling eyes on you, you turned partially to the direction, only to see Miss Steward on her porch, her wrinkly hands on her banister. Are you alright, love? She called across the street, no doubt referring to the masked and armored men having stayed with you for the past two weeks. “Yes, Miss Steward. Just some friends coming for a visit. Thank you for asking.” With that you herded your son through the front door, locking the door and the place down at the same time. Security was still live, no alerts on your phone. Phillip asked for some juice before nap time, something you granted the little boy happily. Putting him down for a nap, it gave you some much needed alone time. A nap as well, and some time to scroll through your phone, looking at the various pictures of Phil. Jesus Christ, you missed your fiancé more than anything.
There was no sight of the van again. Theo installed you some security cameras as well, and both him and Nathaniel asked for access of them. Agreeing easily, knowing they wanted to keep you and Phillip safe, you were busy making snacks in the kitchen when you heard your son call out to you. Mama, just that single word had you hauling ass out the front door, watching your son having backed up onto the porch. Across the street, on a shadowy bench, sat a stranger. Dressed from head to toe in black, a black Hoodie pulled over his head, and what appeared to be a balaclava on his face. Immediately you lifted Phillip into your arms and carried him inside giving Theo a call. This time it took Vance and Matthews only thirty minutes to show up at your door. The stranger was long gone then. “I’m scared they’re a kiddy fiddler,” The term had been inherited from Phil, who had used that word instead of the official term for it. Again, Vance and Matthews combed through the neighborhood, all nice and sneaky. They didn’t find anything, and kind of looked at you like you had lost your mind. Thank the heavens for the security cameras then, because a quick scroll through the footage showed them said stranger on the bench watching Phillip.
Said footage was what got Theo to her doorstep within the hour. He ordered the two mercenaries to go have another look, and to look in every fucking nook and cranny to make sure that bastard wasn’t going to hurt his honorable nephew. You fed three grown fucking soldiers that night, glad someone enjoyed your cooking as much as they did. Phillip was a spoiled little baby, though he also enjoyed mamas cooking whenever you cooked for them. Theodore left with Vance and Matthews the following morning but left you a 9 Millimeter pistol to make sure you could defend yourself in case of an emergency. Unnecessary, seeing as Phil had left you a whole locked closet worth of weapons, but you weren’t about to disclose that information. Besides, you knew next to nothing about firearms and weren’t sure if they needed regular cleaning or oiling or whatever. Locking the gun into the lockable kitchen cabinet, just out of reach of Phillip but perfectly convenient should an intruder make his way into the place. It left you thinking about possibly renovating the house.
Currently, you stepped into a small hallway, where the coats and shoes were placed. Walking from said hallway, you stepped into the living room with a large couch you and Phil had picked together. And spent some quality time together on. Possibly making Phillip on one lonely evening, but you had never been one to deny your late fiancé a spontaneous quickie. From the living room was an open arch that led to the kitchen, with the lockable cabinet right at the door. The kitchen bled into an eating area, that was kept as clean as you could with a two-year-old menace living in the same house as you. Returning to the living room, another door led into what had been Phil’s office now turned guest room, which had led into the mudroom and the garage. A stairwell was right next to the door, which took your upstairs to the master bedroom and its own ensuite. Right across the hall was the old guest room turned Phillip’s bedroom. The urn had long moved into your bedroom, standing on Phil’s bedside table so it felt like he was still sleeping with you.
You were eating cookies at Miss Steward’s table with Phillip when the security alert flashed on your phone. The very same alert was going to Theo’s computer, knowing shadow company was going to show up soon enough to check it out. Taking a deep breath, you waited until you saw the armored vehicles pull up, to check out the premises. You could see the whole ordeal from Miss Steward’s kitchen window. The old lady was a saint, asking you if you needed a place to sleep. And if you were going to be safe. “I will be, Miss Steward. Thanks again. Just a lot of things happening at once.” It was true. A lot of things had happened recently that kept you up at night. If only Phil was here. He’d keep you and the munchkin safe. Waiting for the all clear, you were safe to return home only 15 minutes later. They hadn’t found anything, having combed through the entire home twice. Theo showed up at your door the same evening wanting to make sure you were alright. Right there, in the dim light of your dining table, you realized how lonely you were. Theodore also seemed to notice, because soon he had leaned over and pressed his lips to yours.
It felt good, at first, the first human contact in a little over two years now. Realization settled as one of Theo’s hands found their way up your sweater, and you grabbed it while looking at him pleadingly. You couldn’t do it. Your heart and body still belonged to the man that sat cremated in an urn on his bedside table. Theodore apologized and left only a few minutes later. Thankfully this wasn’t going to become an issue. Except then it did, because later at night your phone flashed with yet another security alert, a silent one, as to not alert Phillip sleeping in the other room. Slipping out of bed, and pulling on your robe, you moved downstairs as quietly as possible. The light was on in Phil’s old office. No doubt someone was trying to get information on him. Carefully unlocking the cabin in the kitchen, you grabbed the gun from its hiding place, quickly sliding back the safety. Thankfully both Phil and later Theo had taught you how to use one efficiently. Calling out to the intruder that you were armed, and were not afraid to use the gun, you received no reply. Of fucking course not. Slipping in through the ajar door, you found an empty bedroom. Checking under the bed, and the closet found it empty. The mudroom and the garage were empty as well.
Just as you were about to give Theo an update, before the Shadows showed up again, you turned to run into a chest. Before you could scream, two hands grabbed the gun from yours, surprisingly gentle, disarmed you and then pressing a warm hand over your mouth. This was it, you thought. You were going to get raped, and killed, in the safety of your own home. Tears spilled over your cheeks and the intruders hand still pressed to your mouth. Soothing shushing suddenly sounded said stranger. Opening your own eyes you were met with a wave of nostalgia. Blue grey stared back at you, albeit covered by a black hoodie. The very same one you had seen not a few days prior. Understanding flashed in those eyes, and the hand was lowered from your mouth, cupping your neck in a loving gesture. “Phil?” You croaked out. Another soft shush left the strangers covered face. You were going crazy. Absolutely fucking bonkers, considering you saw an intruder as your dead fiancé. Just how far gone were you? You weren’t even aware you needed meds, and suddenly they sounded good if you were hallucinating. In hindsight, maybe you should’ve fucked Theodore to get some sense into you. Your fiancé Phillip Graves was dead. Burned in a tank, in Mexico, after General Shepherd blackmailed him into starting a war he couldn’t have possibly won.
Standing in your guest room, in a nightie with a silk robe wrapped around your body, you watched the intruder pull the hoodie down, and the balaclava off. Maybe you were going crazy, but staring your long dead fiancé in the face, left you flabbergasted. SLAP. The sound echoed around in the guest room, and you watched Phil’s cheek color red in the shape of your handprint. One of his hands lifted up to touched the tender area, and he stared at you just as shocked. “I mourned you, asshole.” Voice trembling with anger, and sadness, tears began trickling back down over your cheeks. “I cried for you, and you were alive the whole time? How fucking dare you?” This time your voice cracked towards the end, as Phil pulled you in tightly, wrapping his arms around you while shushing you again. Pushing away, and shoving the man you had thought dead away as well, you stared at him. “Leave, now. Theo is well on his way since I didn’t respond. I will tell him to shoot you.” A car pulled into your driveway, the headlights illuminating the space. “Go,” you urged, shoving Phil once more. The hood pulled back over his face, he escaped through the backdoor, possibly how he left the last time. You were sure it had been him.

More Wangxian Faves: Post-Canon & Canon Divergent
This list was made to honor the request in the notes on my WWX recs post from @100percentserenity for some more fics featuring Wei Ying set in canon or canon divergent fics. Now, not all of these are strictly from his POV, but they all feature him at his quick-witted, charming, & hopelessly oblivious best. Canon divergent can be a pretty wide category, so do keep that in mind if you see a rec & think, "This isn't very canonical.." Haha. There are two repeats from my first Wangxian rec list, but they fit the ask & are both excellent & worth mentioning twice! Now, in no particular order, may I recommend:
Far Away You Are by cqlorphan (E, 17,358)
Thoughts: I absolutely loved the idea of the esteemed Hanguan-jun being this not-so-secret purveyor of comfort hugs & heartache advice. Wei Ying’s shock upon finding this out was so funny I couldn’t help but laugh, & my amusement only intensified when he made the scary Yiling Laozu face while asking who broke Lan Zhan’s heart, only to be told it was him who’d done so. I wanted to hug all the Juniors myself. They’re all so very precious. This was a lovely story where very little hurt in the end, & sometimes that’s just nice after the gut punch that canon gives us.
my age has never made me wise by idrilka (E, 63,439)
Thoughts: I absolutely loved this. It was pretty CQL (The Untamed) compliant & told the post-canon story of Wei Ying wandering alone as a rogue cultivator after the events of the show. Of course he was pining after his zhiji the entire time, so when he heard gossip that the Chief Cultivator might be married by summer's end it nearly undid him. The angst was excruciating, but One Brain Cell WWX Strikes Again fics somehow always manage to be fun at the same time. I've read several post-canon, wandering Wei Ying stories, & this one was particularly good.
Not What We May Be by brooklinegirl (E, 29,222)
Thoughts: I love Wei Ying’s cleverness in this. He’s his usual irreverent, chaotic, charming self, & I never get tired of how wonderfully his mind works. The odd phenomenon occurring in the town he’s staying in was an interesting mystery to solve, & I had to laugh when Lan Zhan arrived with the usual Lan Juniors ensemble in tow. Watching them all work together to figure out how to fix the issue while also dealing with the healthy side helping of oblivious Wei Ying & searing sexual tension between him & Lan Zhan was a fun treat.
All Caught Up by brooklinegirl (E, 36,934)
Thoughts: Wei Ying proposing to Lan Zhan to get him out of an arranged marriage he didn’t want is so something he’d do. There is no character more quintessentially chaotic good than Wei Ying. You can’t change my mind. The practice kissing was a lovely regular feature from this author, & my particular favorite thing in this fic was Nie Huaisang’s cameo as their pseudo wedding planner with his classic meddling while insisting he’s useless shenanigans. This was super cute. I liked it a lot.
love, in fire and blood by cicer (E, 360,042)
Thoughts: This was an example of a cool MDZS-specific trope I hadn't seen before, & in it Wei Ying, the infamous Yiling Patriarch, was a cultivator who had achieved immortality (aka, he's OP as fuck but in a fun way). The great sects enlisted his help to win the Sunshot Campaign, & what did he demand in return? Lan Zhan's hand in marriage, of course! It was a fantastic slow burn in which poor Lan Zhan suffered the mortifying ordeal of falling in love with his own husband. An amazing & complex plot, chock-full of angsty goodness.
Birthday Party by waffles_4_breakfast (E, 100,123)
Thoughts: I loved the idea that Wei Ying would actually get to attend Jin Ling's one month celebration, but I was, of course, still concerned about the continued danger he'd be in. This fic nicely showcased Wei Ying's sharp wit, charm, & ever-present sass. I also loved his dramatics when it came to his interactions with Lan Zhan (and in general, of course, haha), but their sweetness together was ultimately my favorite thing about them. The continued threat to Wei Ying's life & all the plotting surrounding it was interesting, but the best things about this fic were the characters & their bonds with each other.
Fentao-laoshi's Guide to Cut-Sleeve Pleasures by occultings (E, 31,775)
Thoughts: This was set during the Cloud Recesses Study Arc, & it was so, so good. The sexual tension between them was just simmering the entire time, & the idea of them “practicing for marriage” on each other was fucking hilarious. Their banter was top notch, & I absolutely loved Lan Zhan’s nearly overwhelming desperation for Wei Ying, not to mention Wei Ying’s bullshit getting him in over his head (as usual, but this time in a fun way, haha). The feelings were actually very sweet, too. I enjoyed this a lot.
wide enough and wild by impossibletruths (E, 64,120)
Thoughts: I love the tag “Noping Out Of Society With Your Boyfriend And Your 50 Wen Refugees: The Novel”. It made me laugh before I’d even started the fic. While this was set during the time period in which Wei Ying frees the Wen refugees, they didn’t end up in Yiling this time. I won’t get too specific, but they still ended up rebuilding their own little settlement & farming to survive, basically. Lan Zhan found them & decided to stay. The slow burn was so good, & I loved the pining in particular. I cried a couple of times in this. It really was just that good.
your problem as a mountain. by cupofwater (E, 30,989)
Thoughts: It was so cute to see the difference between Wei Ying’s & Nie Huaisang’s fantasies, & Wei Ying’s turning out to be more vanilla & romantic in nature absolutely cracked me up. I nearly hurt myself laughing when Nie Mingjue sent Lan Zhan some of the letters by mistake, & I was delighted by Lan Zhan’s reaction. I won’t spoil it, but the smut was lovely & despite the misunderstanding our boys definitely both got their happy ending, haha.
The Vermilion Ribbon by Unforth (E, 233,368)
Thoughts: This sat on my Marked For Later list on AO3 for the longest time, & I really did myself a disservice by not reading it sooner. It was absolutely fantastic. The world-building, pacing, & intricate plot were all brilliantly done, & Wei Ying being in the Wen clan was nothing like I imagined it was going to be in this. Instead of his core family being the Jiangs, we get Wen Qing in Jiang Yanli’s role & Wen Ning in Jiang Cheng’s. Now I’ll warn you that this got super heavy in some places, so mind those tags & take care of yourselves. Nothing was graphic enough that I had to stop reading, but it didn’t shy away from the serious subject matter it covered either. The whole fic was a real emotional roller coaster, & I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Freakshow (6)
/==- Chapters -==/
Junior walked around the corpse, and past Cinder, without another word. Cinder grit her teeth at the blatant show of disrespect, but she held her tongue. She needed information about IT, and she would get it before she made any move. Turning on her heels, she moved to follow. Junior said not a single word as he moved through the back halls of the club before reaching his private office. Stepping inside, he held the door open for Cinder. It was closed and lock as soon as she passed by him.
Junior: Have a seat.
Cinder stayed quite as she moved to the far side of the office and settled herself down onto the plush leather sofa. She made a show of crossing her legs as she leaned back and draped her arms across the back of the sofa. Junior ignored her posturing, walked over to his bar and poured himself a shot. He took a sip before turning to face cinder. He gently swirled the ice in his glass, crating a soft tinkling sound.
Junior: First off, no.
Cinder: No?
Junior: You can keep your hands off Jaune and Joan, they’re damaged enough. I won’t be letting you add to that.
Cinder: Why, I would…
Junior: Cut the bullshit. You might call the shots when it comes to me lending you my boys for your little dust shop games… but that’s where it ends. I have more than enough to make your life very difficult if you try and push.
Cinder: I see. Then why even bother discussing them with me? If they are so… untouchable.
Junior: To cut off any of your little schemes, and to give you fair warning not to mess with either of them. I’ll be honest, you scared the shit out of me… but now… you don’t even rate on the scary to me scale.
Cinder: Roman said something similar… so neither of you feel I am… dangerous?
Junior: No, you are dangerous, you’re just not scary.
Cinder: What’s the difference?
Junior: You’ve got a plan, and you’re willing to do whatever you need to for it’s benefit. That makes you dangerous.
Cinder: And Jaune and Joan… was it?
Junior: It is.
Junior takes a sip of his drink.
Junior: They don't have a plan. They’re not trying to accomplish something… they just exist.
Cinder: That doesn’t seem very scary… it seems more boring.
Junior: Boring is nice, and it means things are good when it concerns them… but they’re scary because they’re dangerous and don’t have a goal. You got a taste of that danger in the warehouse… you remember what happened?
Cinder: I wanted answers and I decided to get them…
Junior: And you ended up with your ass handed to you.
Cinder: I did not…
Junior: Don’t lie. We can watch the video feed if you want to jog your memory, but that is a prime example of why they are scary. Are you understanding where I’m coming from, or should I give you another example?
Cinder: Another example?
Junior: One of the twins insulted Jaune and Joan. What would you have done if it had been you that was insulted?
Cinder: I don’t…
Junior: Humor me.
Cinder: I would have impressed on them the need to not repeat such behavior, for their own safety.
Junior: And that is what most people would do, at least people like us. Jaune and Joan… they don’t do things like intimidation…
Cinder: They tried to kill her, did they?
Junior: They didn’t try anything. They nearly did kill her. First Jaune, and after getting an apology and a promise for a favor, Joan took her turn. The doc is still checking her out, as we speak.
Cinder: So they are unpredictable.
Junior: No, they are borderline feral. They act like a normal human, but behind those eyes… for whatever reason when that semblance activated… their humanity broke.
Cinder: You seem to have more than passing control, of them.
Junior: That’s only because I hold all the keys to what they desire right now.
Cinder: And what would that be?
Junior: Privacy, a quiet place to live and food; plus whatever little odds and ends that catch their attention. They have simple wants and needs, pretty bare-bones actually… though they are extremely protective over each other.
Cinder: So what happened, to create this… situation.
Junior: Jaune is a drop-out from Beacon, and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He ended up caught in the crossfire when my boys went in heavy on a group making plays in our territory,
Cinder: I take it, his semblance activated.
Junior: It did, and Jaune became Joan for the first time… one of the crew we were taking out, grabbed her to use as a shield… and she killed him.
Junior snapped his fingers.
Junior: Just like that.
Cinder: I see.
Junior: Our target lost three guys to Joan, before in a panic she became Jaune.
Cinder: How many did he cost you?
Junior: Our target two more, and me four. We had to knock him out to get things under control. Like I said before, when that semblance activated, it broke something inside them. As you saw when you walked in…
Cinder: Joan seemed to be just a little sadistic.
Junior: She is, and that was just a small taste… she’ll play with someone for hours if we let her. I actually think she might get off on the smell of blood and piss.
Cinder: And Jaune, he’s not that same?
Junior: Jaune has no issue causing pain, and for Joan he’ll make someone suffer, but Jaune is more brutal… Joan may play with you, draw things out… but Jaune will just crush you.
Cinder: From what I saw, and heard, I assume their semblance manipulates Aura? Do you know how?

I HAVE THOUGHTS ABOUT THE LOIYOR EDEN ACADEMY AU:
They weren't friends at the start but they did take notice of each-other for their achievements and skills (Yor's supernatural strength & agility as well as instincts). Yor noticed Loid for his incredible intelligence, excellent grades and sharp senses.
The first encounter they had that brought them a bit closer was when they defended others from bullies and injustice, especially when their juniors got bullied by older students
They saved each-other when the other didn't want to fight said bullies/from trouble from the teachers, afraid of attracting unwanted attention and not getting angry at their own behalf but on the other's
Yor gathers her courage once and approaches Loid while he's on lunch break on the roof of their school, she meekly asks if he would mind of them being partners in crime (Loid:"Um, friends you mean?" Yor:"Y-Yes, that's what I meant!")
Rumors spread fast of Eden Academy's weirdest but most powerful students striking an alliance
Yor trains with Loid and helps him in biology and science (Loid:"Yor, why do you know how much blood a human loses when you stab them in the thigh?" Yor:"Um, w-well I was-I took a EC course in um- criminology-biology!" Loid:"Hmm..I understand, must've been some course.")
Yor is impressed with Loid's reflexes and senses, he could match her in their training sessions, despite Yor always winning. She suspects he let's her win bc he's a gentleman, not bc he's dying of internal bleeding every time she manages to punch his stomach (Yor:"Loid, how comes you're so good at fighting?" Loid, lying out of his ass:"...My father uh, owned a farm and uh, whenever I would feed the pigs they would attack me so I learned to defend myself." Yor, in awe:"Oh my! Pigs are scary.") They're dumb your honor.
They started with polite honorific of -san at the beginning, but gradually transitioned to -kun. Loid was too embarrassed to call Yor bc -chan, so the -san in her name stuck.
They did have a moment of panic and worry over each-other when they thought the other was in danger and they completely dropped honorifics & just...stared in shock ("Were we really that close?")
They sort of adopted the first year junior Anya, who was often left to herself and they took a liking to her bc she reminded them of themselves (they just can't stand watching children cry)
Anya sometimes insinuates that they act like they're married, Loid is a controlled flustered while Yor absolutely combusts
When Loid's friends tease him for constantly hanging out with Yor, he keeps using the excuse of them just being friends. When Franky teased him about seeing Yor once on top of his lap on the rooftop, Loid spits out his drink. ("I-it wasn't like that at all, Franky!" "Oh really? Your red face tells me otherwise." "I had-I had a bug in my hair and Yor-san was kind enough to get it out!" "Uh-huh, and your hands are her waist were necessary?" "It was to steady her!!") Lmao dumbass
Yor's friends keep teasing her too, Camilla in particular tries to spread nasty rumors about Loid and his many lady companions, of him being a ladykiller...etc. Since Yor is always with him and has never seen him shown interest in any of the girls in their semester, she doesn't believe Camilla at all. She's just jealous

Leaving Home
Fandom: Trials of Apollo Rating: Gen Genre: Family/Hurt/Comfort Characters: Jerry, Yan, Jerry's Mum It's a long way from London to New York, and an even longer way when it means leaving behind your family. At least Jerry still had Yan, though. TOApril day 4 - Facing the Unknown, and I continue to write about the youngest canon Apollo kids, apparently. Given how little we know about them, this is of course completely full of headcanons. I have spent entirely too much time thinking about the logistics of a London kid and a Hong Kong kid ending up at Camp, whoops... And am I relishing writing a canonically British kid and not having to overthink whether or not an American kid would say that? Of course not, why would you ever think that? (Yes, yes I am)
Heathrow Airport was huge.  Jerry was a born and bred Londoner; crowds didn’t bother him, and while he knew to keep his few valuables – wallet, passport – hidden away beneath layers of clothing where it wasn’t going to get lost or stolen, he had no fear of bodies pressing against him as they rushed past on their way to wherever they were trying to get to.
Jerry wasn’t rushing.  He didn’t want to rush, because this was scary.
Not the crowds at the airport.  That wasn’t scary.  Jerry was used to crowds, grew up with them, knew how to dart through bodies to get where he needed to be.
He gripped his mum’s hand more tightly as he watched his suitcase – it was huge and heavy and also far, far, too small – trundle down the conveyor belt to get eaten by the thick dangling plastic strips and disappear from sight.  It started to feel real, now, and Jerry’s stomach was churning because he didn’t want it to be real.
It had been scary when the thing had attacked him, all claws and teeth and dangerous, and he laughed about the old janitor with a limp battering the thing away with a sopping wet mop when he thought about it, because that was funny.  A monster wanting to kill him and only not killing him because the janitor was actually a satyr like Mr Tumnus from that book his junior school had forced him to read, except this Mr Tumnus was a good fighter and something about his mop had made the monster explode into dust, was scary.
Even if the satyr thing was sort of cool.
No amount of satyr Mr Tumnus coolness (except Mr Tumnus was not cool, Jerry hadn’t really liked him, but then he hadn’t really liked the book, anyway.  Peter with his sword was pretty cool, and some of the creatures were, but Lucy was annoying and Edmund was stupid and he didn’t even remember the name of the other girl) could make up for this, though.  One too-big but also too-small suitcase full of all his favourite clothes and cricket bat and mum’s ball and crowds in an airport, and holding his mum’s hand tightly as though he was a baby.
Jerry didn’t want to leave.  He didn’t want to go to America, or New York, or whatever the name of the camp he was being sent to was.  He wanted to stay in London, watch Middlesex’s next match at Lords because he knew Grandma had promised Mum to buy him tickets, play with his friends, and keep training to be the England captain when he was grown up.
He couldn’t be England’s captain if he wasn’t even in England!
Stupid monsters attacking him.  Stupid camp in America he had to go to.  Mum wasn’t happy about it, either, but she’d been firm when he’d tried to tell her he wasn’t going.  He’d eavesdropped on her Skype calls with some bearded guy that apparently ran the camp, and she’d had a lot to say that didn’t sound happy, but she was still sending him away.
Jerry had tried every trick he could think of to not go, but now all his favourite stuff was going on the plane – all his favourite stuff except his mum – it was all real and big boys don’t cry but Jerry wanted to so badly.
The stupid airport had barely anything to do.  It had crowds everywhere but they were all queues, either for the Costa Coffee that Mum had taken him to earlier, letting him have a triple chocolate muffin for breakfast, or for the big metal arches that everyone had to go through one at a time.
Everyone who was going on a plane, anyway.
Those metal arches were where Jerry was going to have to say goodbye.
They were where Mum was guiding him now, looking at her watch and then the departure boards.  Jerry didn’t get what the rush was – it was still hours until that stupid plane to New York took off – but she was acting like they were running out of time and he needed time to stop, go backwards, make it so that this didn’t happen at all.
Yan appeared next to him, with just their backback slung over one shoulder carelessly now their own big case had also been munched by the heavy plastic strips.  Mum didn’t let Jerry wear his like that, and Jerry knew better, anyway.  Yan had lived in London for a year but they still hadn’t worked out that being careless with bags was stupid.
Jerry liked the older kid.  They didn’t make fun of him for not being able to spell, or for caring more about cricket than school (who cared about school more than cricket, anyway?).  He hadn’t known them very long, because they were in the year above him and the older years didn’t mix with the younger years, but he’d met them a few times in the gym, and on the playing ground at lunch time.  They were good with throwing a ball, and good at batting, too, even if they still refused to admit cricket was the best sport in the world.
They’d also been there when he was attacked.
When they were attacked, because Jerry wasn’t the only one being forced on a plane to stupid America-New-York-Camp-Stupid, but Yan didn’t seem to care much.
But Yan’s mum was back in Hong Kong and Jerry didn’t think they’d spoken to her much since they’d arrived in England.  They hadn’t said much about why they were in London without their mum, why they called the adults they lived with Mr and Mrs with manners and nothing else, but Jerry thought this wasn’t the first time they’d been told they had to go move elsewhere.
Yan didn’t say stupid things like “you’ll enjoy it” or “you won’t even miss England once you’re there” or any of the other things Mum had tried to say, and not-Mr-Tumnus had tried to say.  Yan didn’t say anything at all on the topic, agreeing with him that America was full of heathens that didn’t understand how to play a perfectly good game instead.
At least he was going with Yan, if he had to go with anyone, Jerry supposed.  Yan was pretty cool.
The man that met them near the metal gates had a big smile and sharp cheekbones.  His ears were kinda pointy, which was weird but also cool.  Jerry hadn’t known people could have pointy ears like that.  He wore a smart dark blue suit and a colourful red, dark blue and white tie, which looked a lot like the sorts of things the flight attendants wore on the billboards.
“Hey there, kids,” he said, and he had a weird accent, mostly British but with a little bit of a twang when he said hey.  “My name’s Geoff and I’ll be looking after you guys until we meet with your escort Stateside.”
Jerry didn’t want to go with him.  Going with him meant saying goodbye to Mum and he didn’t know when he would see her again, because she wouldn’t say when he asked!  All he knew was that this was because he got attacked, because his Dad had ways to keep him safe if he went to America that apparently couldn’t happen here, in London.
No-one had told him how Yan fit into this, exactly.  The older kid was looking at the flight attendant intently, before nodding.
“Yan,” they said.  “They/them.”
Jerry prepared to punch the guy if he said anything mean.  Almost everyone at school, including the teachers, and insisted on calling Yan he for stupid reasons like “you’re a boy,” when Yan wasn’t, and not-Mr-Tumnus had been one of the few cool adults that didn’t.
The guy didn’t say anything stupid, though.  “Neat!” he said instead, “thanks for telling me.  You okay with ‘guys’ or do you want me to drop that?”  He didn’t even sound sarcastic, and Jerry saw Yan relax a little.
“Guys is fine,” they said, and Jerry saw them grin, a little bit.  They liked this guy, he realised, and that meant he couldn’t be mean to him, because Yan didn’t like many people.
“I’m Jerry,” he said, and because Yan had, he added, “he/him.”
They got another grin from Geoff.  “He/him for me, too,” he said, a bit late but it was better than pretty much everyone else.  “We’ve got to tackle security soon,” he added, and Jerry frowned, because that meant leaving.  Geoff put a hand on his shoulder and he wanted to snap at him to mind his space, but there was a look in his eyes that made Jerry falter.
“I-” he started, and to his horror he started crying after all.
Mum grabbed him in a tight hug.  “Oh Jerry,” she said, and her voice was shaky.  “You’re so brave.  Get Chiron to call me when you arrive, and screw the timezones.  I expect you to Skype me regularly, okay?”
She’d said all of that before, back before Jerry had had to say goodbye to his bedroom and its weirdly bare walls.  His posters were carefully rolled up in his too-big-too-small suitcase, too.  Jerry had already promised all of that, but he promised it again, sobbing and trying not to feel like a baby.
Yan and Geoff had walked away a few steps, he discovered when Mum finally pulled back, but not after leaving a disgustingly wet kiss on his forehead.  “I love you, Jerry,” she told him firmly.  “Never doubt that.”
“Love you too, Mummy,” he admitted, wiping his eyes with his sleeve because he was not a crybaby.  Yan’s host family had left them at the entrance as soon as they’d seen him and Mum, and Yan had simply shook their hands and thanked them for letting them live under their roof for the past year.  They hadn’t cried.
He didn’t know if they had when they’d left their mum, though.  Maybe they had.
Maybe Jerry would be brave enough to ask, one day.
“Ready to go on your adventure?” Geoff asked him, and Jerry wasn’t but Yan was waiting for him and he was done being a crybaby.
“I’m coming,” he said, and gave Mum one last, tight squeeze around the middle, before he straightened his back and walked away.
Yan slipped their hand into his and squeezed it lightly.  Boys didn’t hold hands, but Yan wasn’t a boy so that was fine.  Jerry squeezed it back, tighter.
He was still terrified, but he could be brave.  He wiped his eyes furiously as Yan and Geoff led him towards the metal arch and once he was certain they were dry he turned around.
Mum was crying, but she was smiling, too, and he waved at her, not stopping until Yan led him around a corner and he lost sight of her.
“It’s rough,” Geoff said as he directed them into putting their backpacks and coats into deep plastic trays, and made them take their shoes off.  He did the same thing.  “I was about your age when I had to move to the States without my Mum, too.  Don’t let anyone tell you you’re not brave for doing it, because it’s hard and by the gods we deserve medals for that.”
Yan snorted.  “I want two medals, then,” they said.
Geoff grinned.  “I’ll see what I can manage,” he promised.  “Now, through the box you go, then we’ll go watch the planes come in from the VIP lounge until ours gets here.  How does that sound, guys?”
VIP lounge.  Jerry supposed he liked the sound of that, at least.

He knows
Bruce figures out that Dick and Barbara have had sex
Bruce was watching.
Observing
And when he watched and observed…..that wasn’t always a good thing. In this case, he was observing as a father. It wasn’t something he often did. He tried his best to not be a dad role to Dick. He knew how it felt to lose an amazing father and vowed when he first took Dick in he’d never try to be his dad. He’d be a caretaker, he’d be a source of guidance. But not his ‘new dad’. Over the years though now and then the protectiveness of a parent's love would come over him toward Dick.
And right now that wave was coming over him
He watched as his 17-year-old ward danced with the police commissioner's daughter of equal age.
They were smiling from ear to ear at each other. He watched how their body language worked. Dick had both hands on Barbara’s lower back. One on the mid back area, the other ranging dangerously close to no longer being on her back but being on her rear end.
She had both arms looped around his neck.
Dick leaned in whispering something in her ear, the thumb on his lower hand reaching out and rubbing small circles on the fabric of her black cocktail-style dress.
Barbara laughed lightly. Dick pulled back grinning down at her. She moved her hands. One resting on his shoulder the other hand running down and resting on his chest.
That did it.
Bruce strode across the ballroom approaching the two teens
“Bruce?” Dick questioned
Barbara tilted her head “Everything okay? “ she glanced around making sure nobody was watching “Is there Bat business?” She spoke lowly
Bruce shook his head “My office Now.”
Dick and Barbara exchanged looks before following Bruce to his office. Both took a seat across from him at his desk.
“Is there a problem?” Dick asked
Bruce nodded “You two have had sex.”
Barbara furrowed her eyebrows “What? Bruce doesn’t be ridiculous we….why would you assume that?”
“Your body language on the dance floor. You two were way too comfortable. It’s obvious you’ve both touched more of each other.”
Dick sighed “Bruce we both are vigilantes. You know as well as I do that we have to have the utmost trust in each other in our field.”
Bruce shook his head “Not like that. Cut the crap, no use in lying I know you’ve had sex. Now tell me. When did you two start dating?”
The two teens looked at one another “Dating?” They said in unison
“We aren’t dating.” Barbara laughed
Dick nodded chuckling as well “Yeah; we’re just friends.”
Bruce rose an eyebrow “Friends? Now look I’m no love guru by all means but I can tell you nobody has sex and is just friends. The whole point of friends and more than friends is that little division of sex-which you two have obviously had. So tell me when?”
Dick looked toward Barbara, both knowing there was no use in lying “What was it. 2 weeks ago?”
Barbara nodded “I mean it was a mutual agreement but it just kind of happened.”
Dick nodded “But we’re being safe I’m using protection and so is she.”
Barbara nodded “And we both agreed it’ll just be til the end of summer. Ya know we started it the last week of junior year and we will stop it going into senior.”
“You’re planning your break up?” The man shook his head “Wow things have changed since I was a teenager.”
Dick threw his head back “We aren’t dating.”
Barbara rested a hand on Dick’s shoulder “It’s okay babe he doesn’t get it.- Bruce we don’t like each other like that.”
Bruce rolled his eyes “That’s not possible you can’t like each other like that and both have consensual sex.”
Dick shrugged “Yeah you can. Being in a relationship isn’t a requirement for sex. I mean it’s not like we aren’t-“
Bruce held up a hand “How did you two even conclude that you want to do this if you’re just friends ?”
Dick smiled “The Joker mission a few weeks ago when we finally took him down and got him in jail. It was scary, right? You preached to us to prepare ourselves mentally for one of us not make it back or become severely injured. “
Bruce nodded
Barbara smiled at Dick “Well we were in his room studying for finals, I was having a hard time studying cause I was all worked up about the upcoming mission. Dick calmed me with his words. We started kissing.”
Dick grinned “Babs and I were letting each other know we had the other's back for the mission-we’ve kissed before but nothing like this. Things started heating. One thing led to another and-“
Barbara cut him off “After we finished we were talking and it was both our first times. We decided just to do this for the summer have some fun, get some practice in, and end it when school started again.”
Bruce slowly nodded “As friends?”
Dick smiled “Exactly.”
Bruce waved “But Dick why Barbara? You have other female friends.”
Dick shrugged “None that understands me as she does. None that make me feel like she can. She’s like my other half.”
Bruce turned his attention to Barbara “And why my ward?”
Barbara shrugged “He’s cute, sweet, smart. Super caring -you should have heard him the first time we did it. He was always making sure I was okay and comfortable you would’ve been so proud”
Bruce shook his head “Don’t think
I’d want to of heard that.”
Dick smiled “Babs, I had no idea you felt that way. I- I feel the same way. You are so much to me”
Barbara smiled “Can we go back out to the Gala?”
Bruce shrugged “I guess there’s no more to speak of. Just- continue being extra cautious and if this doesn’t end after summer or things…change don’t hide it.”
Dick and Barbara nodded, quickly leaving the office.
After they left Bruce couldn’t help but think he just opened the floodgates to the harbored feelings between his adopted son and the commissioner's daughter.

The President’s Daughter
Part 1
Bucky Barnes x Reader

Summary: Reader is the president’s daughter and currently Hydra are trying to take over the country. When the reader comes home from work, she finds a certain Hydra Soldier in her bedroom and now she must do as he says
Tumblr media
You stared at your phone in the car, reading the news article that popped up and caught your attention. It was about the deadly assassin, The Winter Soldier. It had been all over the news of Hydra trying to take over this country, infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D, killing innocent and important people. Hydra agents were undercover all over the government. It was hard to know who to trust. With your father being the president of the United States, security was tighter now, and he was working hard to take down Hydra with the help of the avengers and their agents. And with that, that meant security for you was even tighter.
You were currently on your way home from work. You were sat in the back of the SUV with your driver Michael up front and Bruno, your other security guard. It was quite scary, all this war and fighting from these evil people. You didn’t quite understand it all and wasn’t sure if you wanted to really know but it was enough to know that these people were dangerous and serious. Your father had been stressing about this so much, having meetings every hour, phone calls with S.H.I.E.L.D, gathering as much information about Hydra as possible to end them quickly and effectively. Your mother had bene worrying non-stop about it all. The only person who was chilled was your brother who acted like this wasn’t a big deal. But perhaps he was just trying to lighten the mood for everyone.
At first you weren’t exactly jumping for joy about the increase in security. Yes, you were the president’s daughter but having someone always looking over your shoulder was bloody annoying and tiring. But you didn’t argue with your father and accepted the increase of men by your side. Besides, there were some benefits to that.
You sighed softly to yourself, flicking the news article away and shaking your head.
“It’s crazy isn’t it” you said softly, speaking out loud to the two men up front.
“What is?” Bruno asked, looking over his shoulder.
“This stuff with Hydra, the winter soldier” you murmured.
Working as a junior doctor, your workload had increased drastically. More and more people were coming in the emergency room, bodies ridden with blood, cuts, burns, bruises. With all the killing going on, it had made your life stressful as well. but you’d do anything to save anyone and help anyone in need. You remember the argument with your father about working during this whole debacle and you insisted to carry on. Your country needed you and you weren’t just going to hide away in your room while others got hurt.
“Don’t worry Miss, everything will be fine” Michael piped up and you offered a small smile.
“Yeah” you whispered and stared out the window as you carried on home, your mind still on Hydra and its deadliest assassin. The Winter Soldier was one of the most dangerous people. He’s had over two dozen confirmed kills, speciality training with hand-to-hand combat and firearms, super strength, and speed. He was a man you didn’t want to run into or be on the receiving end.
You finally reached home, pulling into the long driveway and parking up. You gathered your bag and jacket and just as you were about to open the door, Bruno opened it, stepping out the way for you.
“Thanks Bruno” you said politely and hurried inside. You were safe here, but you still didn’t want to be out long in the open air, just encase anyone was lurking about. But the security team around the White House was airtight that no one could get in. the house was empty, apart from the security team of course. Your mother and father were currently out having a meeting with the avengers about new strategies to take down Hydra and your brother was scouting out weapons for the US military to use. You were glad you weren’t involved in any of that, it would only make you over think and worry more about it all. Not to mention you didn’t have a clue about what weapons were best and the best strategy for taking down a terrorist group.
You made you way upstairs into your bedroom, smiling gently at the guards you passed and entered you room. Throwing your bag and jacket on the chair, you slipped out of your shoes and let the soft carpet eat up your feet, instantly relaxing. You had a long day at work and now you wanted a quick nap to relax and forget about all that was happening. You took once last glance at your phone, clearing away some emails before throwing it on the desk, hearing it clatter loudly.
You turned to venture to your bed but were stopped suddenly. A small sharp gasp escaped your lips as you stood frozen like a statue, eyes wide with shock and shoulders tensed up.
Standing on the other side of your room was the Winter Soldier.
He was tall, intimidating as he stood there, his cold blue steel eyes locked on your face. he wore some leather tactical gear across his chest with a hardness holding many weapons to his sides. His dark place pants had pockets galore and again held what looked like knifes against his thighs and ankles. His large boots were laced up tightly and he wore knees pads. His face was dominating with a black mask covering his mouth so only his eyes were seen which made them more menacing. He was exactly as the news had described him… dangerous.
And who could forget his metal arm. The shiny long arm dangled on his left side, glinting in the warm lights of your bedroom and his fingers flexing, metal clinking softly. But what frightened you most was the gun in his hand. Your heart was slamming against your chest, the feeling almost painful and your stomach was now a tight ball of nervous and sickness.
The Winter Soldier was standing in your bedroom, gun at the ready. He was here to kill you, there was no other explanation. Hydra were taking over and now they were coming for you and your family.
There was a guard right outside in the hallway. All you needed was to give a shout for help and they’d come barrelling in here, gun also at the ready to take out anyone who was going to put you in harm’s way. But would they be a match for the deadliest person on the planet. There had also been a panic button installed in your room, one by your bed and the other by the door. You moved to quickly to press it to alert the guards outside but were stopped.
“Ah ah” The Winter Soldier held his gun up to you, target sighted and acquired. He took a step forward, gun still pointed at you, and you gulped.
“Phone” he held his hand out, the flesh one open and ready to take your phone. You felt a wave of nerves inside your belly as he asked for it. His voice was muffled under the mask, but you heard loud and clear.
No, you thought. If he takes your phone away, the chances of someone finding you if he kidnaps you are gone. Of course, there was a tracker in the phone that could be traced for anything like that. you swallowed the hard lump in the back of your mouth before picking up your phone. You were frozen in place, not wanting to move but with the gun looking right at you, you had no choice. You shuffled on the carpet, tiny little steps taking you towards the deadly man in front and you held out your phone for him. he took it firmly, glancing at the screen and tapping on it for a moment before he clicked it shut and placed it in his back pocket.
Was he here to kidnap me? You thought.
Does he want to kill me?
What is Hydra planning?
His eyes flickered back on you now and he slowly took his arm down, the gun now hanging by his side. His long dark hair reaching just above his shoulders fell over his eyes a little and he flicked his head back to move the strands away. His eyes were captivating, blue like the ocean.
“If you scream or yell for help, then I’ll kill every single person in this building” he threatened darkly, and you gasped.
“Do you understand” he said, and you couldn’t find any words to say. When you didn’t answer him, he stepped closer, chest almost touching yours and he towered over you like a tall building, staring down at you.
“I said do you understand” he ordered, and you nodded.
“Yes” you squeaked, and the sides of his cheeks turned upwards, as if he smiled.
“Good girl” he began to circle around you, eyes wandering across your body, and you stood frozen in place. somehow, he seemed to have full control here and it was partly because of the fact he was the most dangerous person in America and a Hydra soldier and not to mention his array of weapons attached to his body.
“Now, you’re going to do everything I tell you, otherwise your father and the rest of your family will also die at the hands of me and Hydra” you looked up at him with a scared face, mouth slightly dropped open and you gulped once again.
“Please don’t hurt them” you were shaking now, and The Winter Soldier stopped back in front of you, head held high.
“I won’t, as long as you do as your told” he replied, and you nodded. Anything so they wouldn’t die. You couldn’t think of anything worse.
“Does that door have a lock” he nodded to your bedroom door, and you nodded.
“Go lock it” why did he want the door locked. Most likely to stop anyone from coming in. You turned and slowly shuffled to the door, locking it as he ordered. As you stood at the door, hand still clutching the handle, you pondered on the idea of quickly running out and calling for help. But he was only a few meters away from you and he would mostly likely catch up to you quicker than you could run for help. And you didn’t want anyone to die.
When you turned back around, you were shocked to see he had removed his mask, the black piece of fabric lying on the bed now. His whole face was now visible, and you were suddenly attracted to him. He was handsome, with a small muzzle of beard adorning his face, pointed nose and chiselled jaw lines. You shook the thought away though. There was no way heaven on earth could you find The Winter Soldier attractive, especially now that he’s holding you hostage in your room.
“Come here” he wiggled his finger at you, ordering you to come back over. You did as told, eyes to the ground as you came over. A musky rich smell invaded your senses as he stepped closer and you stared down at his metal hand, his fingers now free from the gun. You never thought you’d be thinking this, but his metal arm only made him sexier and his fingers flexing sent a tingle up your body. But how and why could you be feeling this?
Then, his metal hand moved up, grabbing your jaw in his fingers, and squeezing tightly so your lips were pressed together. He moved your head to the side as if he was inspecting your face and he leaned over. He dragged his nose up your cheek into your temple and took a deep breath, drawing in your scent. You groaned softly struggling to keep balance as he arched your back slightly.
“You smell good… tell me, have you ever been fucked before” you gasped at his question, eyes wide. It was a bold question and not one you wanted to answer. The answer had been yes but at the same time, you had only done it a few times. You hadn’t ever had a boyfriend and since your father was president it was now harder to find one.
“Y-yes” you answered softly, and he chuckled in your ear.
“So not daddy’s innocent girl then” he asked, and you swallowed, not wanting to answer. He let go of your face, allowing it to drop and you peaked up at him. He had a smirk written on his lips.
“Do you have a boyfriend?” he asked, and you shook your head no, silently.
“Good because from this point onwards, your mine” he whispered in your ear, and you felt your stomach toss and turn.
“Wh-what are you going to do with me?” you managed to ask, and he smirked, circling you again and as he was behind you, a light breath touched your ear, making you shiver and flinch.
“Whatever the fuck I want” he came to stand back in front of you and his eyes ran up and down your body, a heavy sigh following.
“Your father has been causing us a lot of problems which is why I’m here and you’re going to help me”.
What could he mean by that?
“Get undressed” he ordered, and you gasped, instantly covering yourself with your arms.
“What!” you answered back sternly, and he narrowed his eyes.
“I said get undressed” he said harsher this time and you stood your ground. No, you weren’t going to be made to do this, even though there was a slight warm feeling inside you.
“No” you answered back with the most confidence you could muster, and The Winter Soldier raised a brow.
“No what” he gritted.
“No, I won’t undress” you were standing your ground with this. He huffed a little, the corner of his lip turning upwards, and he suddenly grabbed your throat in his metal hand, pulling you forwards so your foreheads were touching. You gasped for air, gripping onto his wrist.
“I thought you said you would do anything I asked” he whispered, and you swallowed hard wide eyes staring into him.
“If you don’t do as your told, then mommy and daddy are going to take the consequences” he threatened.
“So, what’s it going to be” you nodded, accepting defeat and he let go of your throat, allowing you to catch your breath. You coughed loudly and sniffled the small tears filling at the back of your throat. Suddenly you were naked, standing in the middle of your bedroom. The Winter Soldier smiled, taking in the sight of you and his flesh hand reached up, running his fingers over your stomach, over your chest and around your beast, circling your nipple. You gasped softly at the sensation it was sending up your body, the tingle between your legs and you swallowed the lump in the back of your throat. How were you enjoying this?
His hand then came around the back of your neck, cupping it and fingers pressing on the side of your neck. He pulled your head back, arching and exposing your neck. His metal hand then came and wrapped around the front of your neck, now holding you steady and still for him. The metal was cold and sent a tingling sensation on your skin. And before you knew it, his lips crashed onto yours, taking over in a feisty fashion, kissing you deeply and darkly. You couldn’t help the little moan escape and you were shocked at yourself for even doing that. He bit your bottom lip, gathering it in his teeth and pulling back, letting it ping back into place.
He chuckled softly, a grin appearing.
“Do you like that” he asks, and you whimper. You did like it, but you couldn’t admit it.
“I know you do; I can see how much you want me to do it again” he whispered softly, his lips dragging across your face, teasing you and you groaned softly. The feeling of his hands on your neck was sending hot flushes across your body and you felt the tingle in between your legs. It was as if you were getting wet from this… and that might just be the case.
“And you haven’t even said no, so you must like it” he was right, you hadn’t said no and now there was no turning back.
“Now be a good girl and get on your knees” he gave you a hard shove, pushing you down and your knees and his metal and instantly wrapped itself in your long hair, gathering it in a tight grip that allowed control of your whole body.
“Now you’re going to show me what you can do with that mouth of yours” he slowly unzipped his pants, reaching inside and pulling his dick it. it was big and long and you hadn’t seen one like this before. You looked up with a worried look on your face. He slowly palmed himself, stroking his dick up and down and held it in front of you.
“Now give it a little taste” he ordered softly, and you gulped. You hadn’t sucked a dick before, and you had no idea what you were doing. His hand guided your head forward and you pressed your lips to the head of it. He moaned softly, his eyes slowly rolling to the backs of his head as you tasted. Your tongue licked the head, falling slightly into the slit and he gasped in pleasure.
“Now open” he pressed the end of his dick inside your mouth, pushing further and further until he was reaching the back to your throat. You could feel a gag relax coming your way, but you held it inside, worried that if you did, he’d punish you in some way. The dick popped out of your lips, and you took a deep breath before it came back in. His fingers gripped either side of your head as he began to thrust back and forth in your mouth. Slopping wet sounds escaped as he fucked your mouth, slowly at first and then began to move the pace up.
The end of his dick hit the back of your throat and your gripped onto his waist, hands clinging to his pants for support. Spit was dripping from your chin, falling on your thighs, and creating a little puddle there, glistening on your skin. Your eyes were starting to water, and you made choking sounds. You needed a breath of air, but The Winter Soldier wasn’t going to let you just yet. He held his dick in your mouth for a few seconds, face pressed against his crotch before pulling out. It was covered in your drool, dripping from your mouth, and stringing along. You gasped for a quick breath of air before his dick entered back inside. You could feel it twitching, as if it was about to let go and cum inside you. But he didn’t.
He let his dick pop out your lips again and you groaned for air. Your mouth was a little sore from stretching open wide for his member and his thumb grazed across your lips, dragging it down and showing your teeth.
“That’s a good girl” he shoved himself back in his pants, zipping them up before crouching in front of you, his hand now going between your legs. You gasped in pleasure, his fingers stroking between your folds, and he smirked. Your pussy was cold and wet, and his fingers began to make little circles on your clit, sending tingles through your body.
“Look at you, you’re just a little slut, aren’t you?” he teased as you moaned in the pleasure, he was giving you. His fingers began to move faster, and you could feel an orgasm coming along.
“Ohhh” you moaned, falling deeper into his hand, his fingers now pressing deeper to get the orgasm flowing. You were going to cum soon, your legs tingling and feet twitching.
“That feels good doesn’t it” he teased, and you nodded, eyes closed.
“Look at me” he ordered, and your eyes shot open, staring into his deep blue ones.
“Tell me you’re just a little slut, tell me you want me to ruin this innocent little body of yours” the words couldn’t seem to make their way out due to the intense pleasure between your legs currently going on.
“Tell me “He asked again but you were too distracted. Suddenly he growled and he pushed you on your back, catching you off guard. You yelped as you fell on your back and he climbed on top of you, knees pressing onto your arms, so he had you pinned while he continued to play with your pussy, lightly stroking your clit.
“Tell me now or I won’t let you cum” you gasped as you felt a sharp tingle, your pussy ready to explode.
“I’m a little slut and I want you to ruin my body” you breathed.
“And you are going to help me, aren’t you” he said, and you nodded quickly. Right now, you’d do anything to just get the pleasure you wanted.
“Who do you belong to now?” he asked, and you gasped, legs now shaking on the floor and writhing under his heavy body.
“You, I belong to you” you gasped, head turning to the side as you pressed yourself harder into the floor. Surely the guards outside were going to hear you and so you needed to be quiet. You didn’t want to attract any attention.
“That’s right, you belong to me now. Hydra owns you now and you’re going to help them take what’s theirs” you didn’t want to; you didn’t want to have any part of this but there was no way you’d win against this man on top of you right now and all that was on your mind was getting your orgasm.
“Ohhh yes” you whispered, and he grinned.
“Good girl” suddenly he stopped rubbing and you huffed lightly, looking up with confusion. He pulled his hand away and he reached down, wrapping the same hand around your neck, leaning down, and giving you a kiss on the lips. His tongue invaded your mouth, swirling inside and taking control once again. He pulled back a little, lips smacking together.
“I’ll be back tomorrow, and I want all the information your father has on Hydra and anything he’s planning on them” he said seriously.
“But, but I- “you stuttered, and he titled his head to the right slightly.
“Remember what I said, if you don’t do as your told, your family will pay the consequences” he reminded you once more before he stood up, freeing you from the cage he had in you on the floor and he grabbed his mask, fitting it back on. He walked to the window, pulling it open and reaching one leg out but then he stopped. He reached into his back pocket, fishing out your phone and threw it on the bed.
“I’ll be here same time… don’t be late” he gave you one last look before jumping out the window.
He’s gone.
You sighed and pulled yourself up off the floor, staring at the window.
You couldn’t believe that just happened.
Hey so I hope you like it, I'm thinking about doing a part 2 or even continuing it even more so let me know what you think. Don’t forget to like, reblog and comment.

Okay, okay, okay, looK
Luke definitely choked out those Gamorrean guards. Like, you can try to convince me he didn’t, but we never see them get back up. And the intent was definitely that he Force choked them.
HOWEVER. One thing to remember about the original trilogy is that there were no techniques unique to good or bad, not really. Yes, the Dark Side had Force lightning, but it’s a technnique that’s dangerous moreso than evil, as apparently you can eloctrocute yourself with it if you get distracted. There is not even a hint of what we have today; that being separate fighting styles and fighting styles used only by one side or the other.
So, what differentiates Light and Dark Side? Well, as far as I can tell, it’s the emotion behind what you’re doing.
Luke doesn’t “pull a Dark Side technique” because the point of Return of the Jedi specifically is that Jedi don’t do things out of anger. And Luke didn’t Force choke them out of anger. He was super chill about it, meaning that, according to that movie, he didn’t even touch the Dark Side during his first reappearance, but he didn’t have to to pull off the move.
If you really want to get technical, I suppose you could find fault and say “But they go down so fast, there’s no way he choked them unles Gamorreans take a lot more oxygen then I thought.” That’s a fair argument. I liked to assume that he just accidentally crushed their windpipes, honestly, because how often do you think he got a chance to practice his move? And on what?
Luke Force choking the guards is part of the whole thing, okay? It doesn’t make sense if he doesn’t Force choke them. He’s Vader’s son, goddangit, that’s the POINT. He’s wearing all black and he’s Force choking Gamorreans and that’s because they are trying to use visual shorthand to tell us, the audience “look. Luke may ask later, but he’s really accepted that he’s Vader’s son. The difference between them is that Vader does things while frsutrated or impatient and Luke does things while perfectly calm”
Luke tries to use a mind trick on Jabba, but I’m ninety percent sure that he attempted it knowing that it wouldn’t work. He wants to show everyone in Jabba’s Palace that he’s a Jedi. He’s doing Jedi stuff, he’s pulling out all the stops, he’s trying to intimidate Jabba in hopes that it will make Jabba give up his friends.
And that’s the key thing. Luke is going for intimidation in that scene. Of course he’s going to mimic Darth Vader. He’s trying to be scary. Just because it doesn’t work, that doesn’t mean that’s not what he was going for. He wants to be spooky and mysterious and creepy so Jabba will go “Just take your friends and leave, jeez, stop being like this.” Yeah, he doesn’t really expect that it will work, but what it does do is make the skiff guards hesitant to attack him because he freaks them out.
I’m sorry. I saw a Screen Rant article that said Luke didn’t Force choke the Gamorrean guards. They provided evidence in the form of Legends’ canon and the junior novelization, but I don’t believe them. The scene was shot and directed in a way to make us think that he Force choked the big scary guards. Why would they shoot and direct a scene to misguide us, the audience? Star Wars didn’t do that at any other point in the movies. They misdirected us with dialogue, never with visuals. Why would they suddenly decide to misdirect us at this point? And only the once??? Just accept that Luke Force choked some people because Luke A.) doesn’t know it’s a Dark side technique and B.) doesn’t know that there are Dark side tehniques

General Thoughts of Candela Obscura E1
So, for those who are waiting for the drop for Youtube, I’m just going to put these under a cut.
The first episode was ... fine.  I like the characters, but the story was a little less horror than I was hoping for.  I think this is likely a side-effect of it being an introduction to the system and the world, and I hope we dig deeper and get into way worse and creepy things in Oldfaire, because the town gives off some serious Yharnam vibes, and I really want to see much worse below the city.
The horror seems currently on the level of something like Fallen London (another strong similar vibe I got from the setting), where it can be mildly creepy, but nothing to spook even the biggest scardey-cats.  And part of that, I think, is Matt being first and foremost a D&D DM.  His favorite horror is body horror, clearly, and his sensibilities are geared for D&D combat and monsters.  And that is no bad thing, but so far I really haven’t seen him dig deep and come up with a really strong horror hook.
And to be fair to him, doing horror in a TTRPG is HARD.  The sci-fi horror series ‘Eclipse’ had only one episode out of three seasons that really got me properly creeped out.  Taliesin’s Call of Cthulhu one-shot ‘Shadow of the Crystal Palace’ had some great horror moments, such as the moment with the guard and Travis, but that’s as close as we’ve come to proper horror content from CR.  And this introduction to Candela Obscura, despite being hyped as proper horror spooks, lacked any real fear.  We got ..blue ghosts?  A big warrior spirit?  Cool, sure, and definitely some fun visuals, but nothing that felt actually scary in that existential, unexpected way.
I also sort of wish Taliesin was playing the group’s Lightkeeper, as I think he’d bring more gravity and spooky shit to the table, essentially acting as a junior DM and NPC.  He would give the circle instructions and would be available to discuss lore and such with them as needed, but would always give off a vibe that interacting with him for too long might be dangerous.  It would also make his intros feel a little less separated from the rest of the episode.
Now, all this may sound like I was pretty down on the episode, but I did enjoy it.  The characters are fun, they’re good horror tropes (particularly Laura’s crazy-eyed occultist, who gives off some delightfully weird vibes).  Having them have personal connections to one another is also great, as it gives them more to lose (and I am really hoping we do lose a few by the end of the third episode, as I want Matt to ratchet up the danger hard).
And as I said at the beginning, this is very much the first episode, with some kinks to work out.  I’m hoping that, now that the establishing episode is over and done with, Matt can destroy all my doubts and show me that he can really embrace the fucked-up horror vibes this show really needs to have proper teeth and linger with the audience.  Having a system weighted toward failure or only partial successes, with true success seeming like a rarity, could really help with this, and giving the characters more resource crunch could also be great.  ‘Call of Cthulu’, for example, has very few rules about fighting, but a lot about running away, because that’s what you’re supposed to do.  So it’s great that none of the characters in this current run are active combatants.  Sending them into Oldfaire with no real means of defending themselves and barely enough information to keep them alive could really up the terror, and leaning into reality-breaking cosmic weirdness seems like a great angle to take if and when they descend below the city streets.
Setting up proper scares and paying them off would also be a huge benefit.  Taliesin had some great moments of this in ‘Shadow of the Crystal Palace’, as I mentioned, and though the rest of the series never quite rose to the same heights, the third episode of Eclipse, ‘The Dark Zone’ is frankly a masterclass at being properly spooky and unsettling that could be referenced for ways to get your players spooked and keep them there.  So it is doable, but it requires the DM to go in with spooks set up and ready to go.  Matt is fantastic at set-up and is an incredibly diligent DM, so I do trust he can do this.  And he’s got a good buddy who has experience doing it if he needs any ideas.
I am looking forward to following this run, and I think a lot of my issues with this first episode are simply early growing pains of a new system and new players.  I think by the third episode, if Matt really cranks up the horror, I am going to love this series, and I am both a big fan of CR and a big horror fan, particularly cosmic horror.  So I’m very excited to see what the next run might be like after the growing pains are over and the kinks are worked out.  I hope we get at least three runs with three different DMs, because getting to see how this system plays in different hands with different approaches would be really beneficial to those of us tempted to run Candela Obscura ourselves.  I would love to see Ivan van Norman DM one of the runs, as he’s got a great sense for horror.  And I would really like Taliesin to take the reigns.  This is his baby, and right now his distance from it is probably deliberate, as he wants to see how it plays without his interference, but I think his DM style from ‘Shadow of the Crystal Palace’ would really bring this setting to life, dragging his investigators into darker and darker places.
All in all, not a bad start.  Not great, but first episodes of any of CR’s campaigns (or frankly pilot episodes in general) are often weakened by everyone being new to their characters and the DM still figuring out the tone they want to go for.  I think that we’ll be seeing a lot of improvement, and a lot of what’s already strong (the characters) getting built out to the point where, if we start losing them in episode three, it’ll have some serious impact leading into the formation of the next circle for the next run.

“well, hey there everyone! id like you all to meet miss nishimura! a wonderful lady i met on the street who wanted to check the agency out!” dazai announced hand in hand with a woman with straight brunette hair up to her hips. “dazai, you can’t bring women to the agency just because they want to, that’s an abuse of power!” kunikida yelled, “should i remind you how dangerous it is to be around the building let alone inside?!?!” he groaned, sitting back down.
“kunikida, please! it’s been a two weeks since atsushi and akutagawa fought fitzgerald, i’m sure yokohama is safe for now” dazai smiled and started bringing nishimura around the building. “that dazai… seriously, there should be a rule that just completely restricts him from dating ever!” kunikida sighed out, half joking.
“haha! that’s true kunikida, dazai is a true enemy of women.” you laughed, laying a sheet of paper over with a pile of finished paperwork. “hm, well, say s/o, do you have a boyfriend?” atsushi spoke out. “…” you sighed thoughtfully, thinking of what to say. “no i don’t, but i do have what might be a crush? i’m still not sure…” you muttered.
“really?” kunikida’s head peaked from his desk. “what’s this guy like?” he asked, waiting intently for your answer. you sat stunned— kunikida who never had the time to engage in gossip stopped the swift moves of his fountain pen to listen to your love life. “well… he’s really kind but, he can be scary sometimes. a lot of people are afraid of him but he really is nice if you connect with him enough.” you looked around.
lying is fun… well, it’s not exactly lying, it’s a half-truth!! seriously, it is. it’s a fitting enough description for yosano isn’t it? its just— yosano as a dude. “scary, hm? i don’t see why people would like him based off of your description…” kunikida looked at you, judging your taste in (wo)men. “he’s not all that bad, i swear! it’s just something that he personally calls tough love, he really is a sweet guy if you get to know him.” you weakly try to defend yourself.
“c’mon atsushi!! i need back-up!!” you look to your right. “s/o, i could definitely see this guy as a best friend, but as a boyfriend? i don’t think he’s right for you— or at least healthy for you.” you groan in response, unable to form any sort of defense. “guys, i promise he’s much more appealing when you meet him in real life!”
“then can we meet him?”
“…what”
“you said yourself he’s more tolerable face to face— so can we meet him?” haha fuck. “guhhh…” you childishly whine at the hole you dug yourself into. “you’re not my mom or dad! i don’t have to bring him for you to approve. plus, he isn’t even my boyfriend yet!!!” you scowl, turning your chair away from them. “then can we at least get an initial? i will find out who it is myself.”
mind; a blank. if you said it was a guy and you said yosano’s initial, A. they might still find out!.. the nickname you’ve given to yosano might be a bit obvious but not as much as A(kiko Yosano). “S, his initial is S.”
“satoshi!” atsushi raised his voice an octave. “what? no! who’s that…” you stare dumbfounded at your junior. “ah, i was just thinking of names…” atsushi shied away, embarrassed.
“i’m not gonna tell either of you!! really!” you announced. atsushi’s embarrassment died down as he laughed it off before he looked back at kunikida. “let’s respect s/o’s wishes and not look into it, okay?” kunikida sighed, letting the matter go (for now), albeit hesitantly.
it’s embarrassing, so embarrassing. you have the hardest, fattest, horrendously down bad crush on the agency’s medic, akiko yosano. you just wanna be her girlfriend so badly, you wanna kiss her until you disappear, kiss her until her lipstick is all over your lips.
of course, you might be delusional, but it doesn’t mean you’re naïve. the fantasy of being akiko’s, and spending your every hour of everyday, with her hand glued to yours is a dream (no, literally, the dream you had last night). but there’s no way to envision a future with her. with your schedules, her plans for the future and yours, a relationship is just off the table.
“s/o, really— ask anything. i told you i’d tell you anything you wanted to know about me.” is it overthinking? is it purely platonic? ignoring every sound to gaze at her checking her matte shaded nails and looking at the time once in a while,
‘“sho, that’s— what the hell?!?!’ you frowned as she laughed, her thin lips parting to make a grin. “it’s not funny! ugh, i hate you!..” you pouted (SATIRICALLY). “aha! i love you too, s/o.”’
“hm… s/o, everyone left?” akiko’s low yet melodic voice noted. looking around, everyone disappeared “are you about to go shopping, sho?” she smiled endearingly. “ah, you know me so well!.. let’s go?”

Thesis: Steve Harrington is a Virgo
🕐 This would put Steve's Birthday at an appropriate place in the timeline.
I feel like I remember production notes or something saying Steve was 17 in Season 1, when he was a Junior at Hawkins High. If this is true, it would make sense for his birthday to be early in the school year, like mid-September.
Also: kids with birthdays early in the school year tend to be more successful in sports and athletics than their peers who have birthdays later in the school year. Sounds to me like Swim Team Captain and Basketball Star Steve Harrington.
♓️ Robin is probably a Pisces, and them being sister signs explains why they are basically (Platonic, with a capital "P") soulmates.
The most canonical birth date we have for Robin is from "Rebel Robin" where she says she's "15 and a half" in early September, 1983. Which would put her birthday in early March.
"Robin's personality in S4 is so different from S3!" That's masking and a mutable water sign for you, babe. My girl is super creative, knows a lot of random information about subjects that have nothing to do with each other, and thinks outside the box. She doesn't do well with social cues, but she does read Steve like a book in her own fantastical, abstract way ("We should combine" "What?").
Also she's the only one Steve opens up to emotionally, while he also brings her down to earth ("Tammy Thompson is a total dud").
This may be the point in the essay where you say "Steve Harrington is not intellectual/analytical/perfectionist enough to be a Virgo!" Let me present evidence about why yes he is.
🔍 Steve is one of the only characters to use reason and attention to detail for almost every decision / problem.
He doesn't argue that he doesn't feel guilty about what happened to Barb or that her parents don't deserve to know, only that they are contractually obligated not to talk about it after they were forced to by very scary people for very good/dangerous reasons.
He always makes sure there is a plan and they stick to it. ("We stay on the bench and wait for the A Team to do their job")
He notices little things other people tend to miss (e.g. the background noise on the Russia tape)
He uses logic whenever he wants to convince someone ('I was swim team captain and a lifeguard, therefore logically I should do the underwater mission', "You know who pauses Fast Times at 53 minutes and 5 seconds?")
Traditionally neat and likes to project a polished image (exactly how many sprays of Farrah Fawcet hairspray??)
Reigning champion of common sense ("Eddie's still a wanted man, we're not gonna go for a hike through the woods.")
Designated Advice Giver / Mom Friend.
Let's talk again about how in-depth he went into analyzing the Vickie thing (the Fast Times tape couldn't have been her boyfriend's doing because he was away at college when she rented it, it doesn't make sense, Robin)
Anyway these are just a few of the examples that led me to believe Steve Harrington is a Virgo.
Thank you for your time.
In my next essay I will discuss why I think Eddie is a-
