Alex Mercer + catholic trauma really does something for me, i like reading fanfics abt it cuz it feels like home. shout out to all the projecting Alex writers out there.But i think its funny how inaccurate it is. not in a bad way ofc. I mean its the 90's, religion is not the only thing making people homophobic there, besides toxic masculinity being pretty much a thing, there was also the post aids moment, so despite the 90's not being the most homophobic era ever, gay people were like, a presence, on the social groups, especially on the art/acting/music scene. so, for me, it makes sense when Kenny Ortega says Alex was a proud character of his identity as a gay young man.

doesn't add up to me tho, being gay + proud + christian + in the 90's. like, you dont grow up proud of being queer if u spend your life hearing negative rhetoric about it. so i, personally, don't think Alex's family was religious.

Alex's family doesn't look religious and Alex doesn't seem into it, as well. Alex being confident, proud, relaxed and sarcastic brings me to think that he came from a very liberal family that was also homophobic. picture this with me.

the grunge/rock scene is full of people trying to make into a club that only people who look a certain way can be there, they're full of toxic masculinity behavior there. Alex's not like it, he knows better that rock is much more about expressing yourself through music and feeling with others, rather than how you look, you knows its bullshit. and im only mentioning this bc Alex doesn't dress like alt ppl usually do, he's always in this relaxed outfit, the same black sweatpants and different soft colored shirts and jackets, he doesn't put an effort to how he looks, he just wants to be comfortable. and not caring how you look as long as ur comfortable? rock behavior ig

Alex being confident and proud tells us about the background he came from. If his family considered him trustworthy and let Alex make his own choices without interfering even if they don't like it, certainly he did NOT came from a religious household.

Alex is a drummer, that shit expensive for you to just have a whole kit hanging around, so his parents probably got it for him, they supported his band and let him have his friends around, they were warm and loving, helping into building Alex's sense of self worth, which is very nice.

so we don't have anything concrete abt Alex's past relationships, but i guess he first came out to his band and then his parents, Luke says Alex never had a boyfriend, but Alex being so certain that he was having a mutual connection with Willie would feel weird if it was the first time Alex flirted with a guy. nah. He probably did met other gay boys on clubs and concerts, flirted, made out once or twice, maybe even gone on dates, you know, teenager things.

the shit happened when he came out to his parents and they gave him the cold shoulder and silence treatment. because they had reasons to not want their son to be gay. Gay people were seen as dirty, sick, perverted, pedophiles, promiscuous and also a target for violence. As a parent, they wouldn't want his son that they loved and supported so much to be associated with such a marginalized group. But it's their son, after all, they couldn't throw him away. So they didn't locked Alex away from his friends, wasn't thrown out of his house, wasn't forced to get that "fixed up". Because Alex was their son, but they didn't want that part of him there, they didn't wanted to know about it.

Alex having his friends over would always click a question on his parents' mind for what if they aren't just friends, what can they be doing together when they're not looking (bc you know, gay people dont have feelings or connections, its all about the sex), what else could Alex's dad think when he sees Luke sneaking out of Alex's room wearing his shirt? and the problem is centered around it happening near to them, whatever Alex does outside their roof is his business, but his homosexuality is not welcome on the Mercer's house. Although, they didn't felt comfortable around Alex anyway, bc inside their heads, they knew that he couldn't keep his homosexuality off when they were together. they couldn't process that their son would be a homosexual, they couldn't love that, they could love their son, but not that.

Alex probably knew that, probably thought that it would eventually stop and they would be normal, warm and loving again, that they would support him again, probably because he didn't had his parents' love hold against some condition, as if he had to earn it. (As it is pretty common in religious households) It doesn't mean he wouldn't get hurt from it, he did and it was a lot, the lack of love, attention and support that he got from his came out, after a life of being given proper dosis of love and being allowed to be who he was. By the way Alex deals with changes, that shit was probably getting to his head.

Alex knew he deserved better than being treated like that, he knew he deserved his family to love him bc they always did and that they shouldn't define him by one element that would always be a part of him, he knew he deserved it to be a part of his life, deserved to bring a nice guy he met home to meet his parents instead of sneaking them in and out like he had to live it secretly. He didn't wanted that, it wasn't fair to him. He shouldn't have to feel ashamed enough to hide it from his dad bc his dad shouldn't want him to be ashamed of himself.

Alex was decided to stop caring about his parents thought of him, even if it meant them not being a part of his life, not that he wanted it this way, bc he didn't. But if they could change once, they could change again.

Honestly, pretending that Christians don't think god is male is just pathetic. That's just factually incorrect. You can reinterpret your emotional support book all you want, that does not change what is actually in it, and what has actually been done with it historically.

Get help. Learn to read. Stop fooling yourself, your cult ain't cute. It is a cult of woman hatred.

And before there's another long rant as though I'm pulling this out of my ass... I studied the bible at school since kindergarten. I've been indoctrinated since before I could fully read. I live in an extremely religious country, where religious tradition is commonplace and expected.

Don't try to pass off your new agey version of an asexual agender god as the absolute truth when you KNOW 99.9999% of christians do not have this interpretation in mind. It's just so fucking disingenuous and ignorant of basic reality... It shows what a fanatic you are, and to what great lengths you'll bend reality to for jesus... You know, the male son to the male god who, as per your precious book, was placed into Mary. Did she have a choice? Did she really?

"Came unto" can be interpreted as came upon, came over, entered, overtook. Don't pretend your personal favorite bible translation is absolute. Mary was TOLD she would bear the male god's male child by an angel. She was not asked, she was informed. Be honest. You know this is what you were taught as well. If it wasn't, then you are part of a small, very specific Christian community. This is what I learned in Catholic church, this is what I learned in Sunday school, this is what I learned in Seventh Day Adventist church, this is what I learned in Saturday school, this is what I was taught at SDA primary, secondary, and high school as well.

Just because they reframe it and pass along the interpretation that Mary was told she had been impregnated by the holy ghost and she rejoiced, the truth is she was informed by a male coded creature that she was to bear a child that wasn't hers. She was a child and had never had sex and she had no choice.

Also I don't think you wanna be claiming one particular translation and interpretation as absolute when it comes to the bible at all, considering the sort of deeply misogynistic stories present in that hunk of trash. It's all fun and games when we're all "love thy neighbor" or whatever the fuck, but please go ahead and spend some time explaining how woman positive [these passages] are.

Just because the bible isn't 100% about how bad and evil and gross and wrong and sinful and disgusting women are, it doesn't make it okay that so much of it dismisses women altogether.

Also please, the praise of Mary as a perfect holy being because she took a pregnancy she never chose, and bore a child she never wanted, and bowed her head, and said she was happy about it doesn't make the bible woman positive. It makes it propaganda for women to take their marital rape with a closed mouth and nobility, so that maybe they'll be remembered as beautiful, chaste, perfect martyrs as well.

Don't get me started on the concept of virginity that surrounds Mary and how it is used to degrade and control women.

Christians/new agey godly types often twist reality of the religious beliefs they claim to adhere to, so I truly hope your very very very male god keeps you warm at night, and that you'll at least start being honest about what you believe in, rather than making excuses for it. If you wanna be in a cult, go all out, don't pretend to hold out. It's even worse than just being outspoken about the inherent misogyny of your religion, because you fool other women into buying into your bullshit. Just be fucking honest.

Thinking about how ancient polytheistic religions largely died out because it’s easier to maintain patriarchal societies with monotheistic religions.

A rather lazy sketch for the Joyous Congregation of the Smiling God.

Maybe it's just the audio format and him sitting in a radio booth (and being in a special kind of messed up stasis), but Cecil's Night Vale always seemed like a blazing hot, but windless place to me. I'd like to imagine that's not the case for everyone.

So...how about a painful truth and a kind lie?

And This...Is Why I’m Neo-Spiritual (And So What If I Believe In Magic.)

[Note: Reading This Post Is Optional. Also Don’t Reblog This Without Permission. also even if this post might not be super mature, I still will place the mature audience only and not for kids tags for this. also this will at some point talk a bit about Abel and Cain...also it is okay no one reads this, reading this post is optional. ya can wait for some fan theory posts. ]

so some of you might know that I don’t really like when some humans are Toxic-Religious, and what happen a few years ago with some Toxic-Religious jerk who kept misusing the words “may god have mercy on you.” or “may the lord have mercy on you.” at me non-stop didn’t help any, and might of been what done it.

that person made me REALLY not like Toxic-Religious actions, and yeah like I pointed out before, no matter how many times I tried to tell them to stop that and it was hurting my feelings and making me cry, they kept doing it...

and so I had to block them, I can just hope not to run into them on here or the other places I go to.

and of course I end up finding a place that talks about “Magic” but not in the best of ways, I mean yes the stuff that was wrote says that magic is real...

but then it says that Christians and unbelievers should run from witchcraft...

also I need to say this, even if it might not be possible for everyone to use the same level of magic, but at least some can try not to use it too much and try to make sure it doesn’t get to a dangerous level....

I use my gem bracelets for a good reason, not just to protect myself from outside energies but also have them act as sealing charms and limiters so I don’t start to move anything either it be a pen or bottle of pop with my mind when I hold it with just my fingers, and yeah it was freaky when that started to happen and I had to use both food salt and praying to both the Heavenly Father & Earthly Mother for that help, which is I guess a type of magic...

though to some, it could be considered “bad magic”...

also not all magic comes from Satan, and there might be some magic that can’t truly be explained that might not match with the fictional versions in some shows, movies, video games and books that some of us love.

even if some might not fully get or understand my new beliefs, and yeah it was part of the reason that toxic-religious jerk kept using those misused words at me, and even if I did try to get them to stop, because they were hurting my feelings and making me cry, they didn’t listen and maybe because they were on some kind of self-righteous mode and thought they were “saving” and “healing” me but really they were probably only do it for the wrong reasons and they should of listen when I told them to stop it because it was hurting my feelings...

also like I pointed out before, Satan isn’t the freaking boss of me...

and even if he was Archangel Samael who had possibly fathered Cain (which once again I’m a descendant of Cain.....but also Seth as well.)

but like that person says “nothing good can come from him right...?”

so I guess I am just a accident, and “no good”....sorry, but I guess it just peeves me off a bit, and I ended up crying just a little just now....

lucky there are some tissues so I can clean them off my face...

(and yeah, I understand I had been a bit triggered by it, and maybe to take my mind off those thoughts and well I can try not to let it get to me, and maybe try to think about the Heavenly Father & Earthly Mother love me just the way I am....even if the info about Satan/Samael and Cain is true...but it be nice if it wasn’t but there is still that possibility...)

even if I can make some mistakes, like how some of my words can be misinterpreted at times, or at times I don’t think I’m not listen to, you know like when I try to say something but sometimes it feels like.....you know my words aren’t understood well enough at times, but I want to try to do better in trying to get some of my words to be understood without it getting misunderstood all the time, even if small harmless misunderstandings can be okay, but some not so much.

and yeah, I guess I let what some person wrote, really get to me just a little to the point even talking about it in that way, ended up making me cry just a little.

I’m okay now, but even if the whole thing about Satan and Cain were true, some of us didn’t really ask to be “made” but we can try not to be like most of our ancestors and we can at least try to do better and evolve, and my using gems the way I have been, is a type of evolved magic of the modern era I guess.

and yeah I may still have some trust issues when it involves Male-Angels, as I have started to not fully trust some of them, and I don’t just mean the Fallen Ones....

even if there might be a few Male-Angels I might can trust, who aren’t insensitive and think fighting and certain level of violence solves everything.

and yeah if it were possible, I would take two pieces of bread and place it on each side of Lucifer’s face and ask him what he is....

he really picked a bad time to start that rebellion, he should of at least waited until the Toxic-Masculine Energy was fixed, but because of his little “rebellion” it only ended up getting more worse, and sure we got the Toxic-Feminine Energy now but it isn’t as high as the Toxic-Masculine Energy at the moment...

I know that not everyone who is religious is toxic-religious, plus I don’t think that everyone will know everything, even about magic and how at times it can be misused and scapegoat by those who wield it.

plus if someone does magic they shouldn’t, it’s because they were messing with the type of magic they REALLY shouldn’t of messed with in the first place, and they should take on the responsibility and realize that they are just as much at fault than the magic they messed with that they shouldn’t of in the first place.

but they shouldn’t scapegoat it, even if it is true that it is the type of magic they shouldn’t been using in the first place.

I’m still making sure to not use my pendulum a lot and only use it once in a while, and my making sure not to use it too much is my way of not over doing it with that type of magic.

also in theory if some magic is dangerous to some humans, it might be because of the level of magic in their bodies and souls, and for all we know it could also have to do with their blood type, if you don’t have a certain blood type for the right level of magic, it will possibly put you in danger.

but it could be possible that those who have a small or higher level magic in their bodies and souls, know not to foolishly mess with magic they shouldn’t, because for all we know, it could be a unspoken rule to NEVER mess with a certain type of magic.

even if there is dark and light magic, and it could be possible it can be misused at times, but there could be something that is in between, like twilight magic.

I can’t tell my family that I no longer go by Christian and I go by Neo-Spiritual now, it is one of the closets I have to be in.

well that, and the Nonbinary-Girl Closet, as well as the Aroaceflux Closet.

well I am Fictoromantic as well, and yeah that is possible...

I know I had bad luck with online boyfriends before, I don’t really plan to even try to get one again any time soon, and I know the guys I had some crushes before in real life, didn’t work out too well either, so that pretty much sucked as well.....so why even bother with high dimensional 3D ones, where I can just be happy with fictional ones, who I can get small crushes on and still ship with other characters either it be OCs or canon characters from the same universe or a different universe and series, making it a Crossover ship.

and I don’t want to be told “oh, you just need a real boyfriend.”

yeah, even if I do decide to do that, the said boyfriend will need to understand that at times I do NOT want to be touched, and if he tries to hug me from behind I will possibly have the moments where I will get scared easy and not like it.

not to mention that I need my space, my place of sanctuary to just be alone to relax and maybe listen to some music or play video games or reading or watch a movie or show I like.

of course I think I like that more, since the whole terrible house guest situation that happen a few years ago, I couldn’t get the proper space and it was possibly half the reason for that depression that hit me....at some point I couldn’t take it and having to move to the place we live at now, had been I guess the final straw.

also even if it is true that some dumb humans back in ancient times misused magic and had tricked people into thinking it was the will of the Heavenly Father.

like the info about the Frogs and Egypt...

it could be possible, that their misuse of the magic would have it’s own karma, and they could of not been able to use that higher level of magic anymore, because they misused it.

also my faith was starting to go even more in a fragile place before, but if some info I had read before, and I’m not talking about the site that has to do with the whole magic thing....

then I guess it does give me some hope that things are slowly getting better.

and I think maybe if I don’t sleep when I should or eat something, I guess I can become weak to some pretty negative feelings.

also if some Magicians as the info says, did try to summon gnats but couldn’t, it is possibly because they were being punished for misusing the magic in such a way.

plus I don’t know what level of magic I have in me, but I know that I might not be able to handle it if it ends up being a certain type, I don’t want to end up like Carrie White from the Carrie Movie Series or Alessa Gillespie from Silent Hill Video Game Series and Silent Hill Movies.

I don’t mind if it is just my necklaces that I hold that end up moving like my pendulum, but I don’t want to get too strong where it goes past just holding something physically with my fingers and it start to move a bit with just a thought when I hold it with just my fingers...

I wear my gem bracelets for a good reason, so it doesn’t evolve past to what is now....I know I wouldn’t be able to handle it or even fully control it.

the other reasons being to protect myself from harmful energies...

and I’m still going to wear them when I go to sleep, to protect me when I sleep.

in a way, it is like protection magic, and yeah even if some might not fully understand or agree with it, it is what it is for me...

I’m still not 100% sure it will work for everyone, but at least it has helped some.

I know I wasn’t really planing on crying a bit when thinking and talking about that whole Satan thing....but not all magic comes from him, I believe that is possible and yeah I guess my feelings were hurt just a little.

of course that toxic-religious person from a few years ago, had did far worse in hurting my feelings than that....

of course I have went through a breaking point where I ended up in a second depression that didn’t feel great, even if I still had stuff and people to make me feel a little happy, that bad feeling was still there.....and it took a lot of time to heal fully.

and yeah, I now believe that Cain wasn’t born a monster but became that way because of how he was raised and him falling into a very dangerous spiritual and emotional depression.

bad parenting did happen in the ancient past as well, and while Abel may still had good in him, he still had some dark problems that has to do with his ego and not seeing that his brother was in spiritual and emotional pain and it was reaching a dangerous breaking point.

and if we think logically, Cain is possibly not the first human to take a life.

I mean what about Abel, and how he had did those offerings...?

even if it is normal for some animals to be used as livestock, but you can’t just do it in the wrong way, I mean it’s one thing to play video games where you can hunt for some animals and even have to fight the bad guys...

but I think Abel was just much as in the wrong as Cain was.

if Abel was the first life that Cain had taken, then what about the flock who lives that Abel has taken, those that he had taken the lives of just to be used in a offering, not in the way where it is to feed the bellies of his family or to keep them warm during when it gets cold....at least feeding his family and helping them keep warm when it gets cold, that is one of the good things.

if humans share in the food they eat, like fruits, vegetables and meat, and maybe even some fish....they can be thankful and maybe like spiritually share it without it ending up like how Abel did it...

plus for all we know, it could be possible that Abel had crossed a line he shouldn’t of, and it had ended up pushing Cain even more into the darkness he was falling into....which ended up with Cain giving Abel a “game over”...

I know it might not be possible that many will even read this, and well I’m fine with that, I did have this say that reading this post is optional.

I might not know everything and I might not be a 100% genius.

but I can still think about some stuff and figure out maybe small stuff....

like figuring out the whole thing with Abel and Cain, has more to it and how Cain had became the way he did, was because some pretty bad spiritual and emotional depression, and he wasn’t getting the help he needed from Adam or Eve possibly....

and I don’t think humans should go scapegoating magic, if they misuse it or mess with some certain magic they should of messed with in the first place, than they should take on some responsibility and know they are just as much at fault as the magic they had messed with that they shouldn’t in the first place and had misused.

and even the magic that could still be okay to use, so long as you take breaks from using it so not to use it too much, can be misused.

prayer magic, in the right way can be used but to not just help yourself but to help others....in theory, praying to God, could be a type of magic communication.

and yeah, some might not agree with my whole believing in both God and Goddess now, but I ain’t gonna do that force converting thing...

there is still some things that can’t be fully explained by humans, even the whole Aliens from Space.

even if some people in this world don’t believe Aliens are real, but it is possible that they are, and humans can’t really explain fully on why we are here, why did we evolve the way we have, and where do we really go when we reach the afterlife.

plus the afterlife could be bigger than what we know it is, and the afterlife is much bigger than what we think it is, and our minds just can’t fully comprehend it unless we open our minds more to the possibility.

like every different type of afterlife versions that is talked about on Earth, could turn out to be all true, and it could only touch half of what is in the afterlife...

also is it possible if you don’t eat something when you need it right now or if your a little tired, you can kind of give into some negative feelings, even if that might not always be the case...

but I know I can still get some negative thoughts and some feelings about myself....but I can at least try not to.

and yeah if I choose to believe that some magic is real and some might not be, and know that there is some magic you do NOT mess with, because there is just some that shouldn’t be touched, because it is not meant for humans and mortals.

even if you do discover you can use magic and some of it ends up being unlocked, it is best not to use it too much, ya can still use the prayer type which could be seen as a type of Holy Magic...but some other magic will not have to be used too much all the time I think.

that freaky thing that started to happen with the radio could be seen as a type of magic, but it only happens once in a while and in different ways...

just call me the “Radio Earth Angel” which thankfully isn’t as close to being like Alastor The Radio Demon from Hazbin Hotel, and I’m fine with that.

there could be some magic that is just too dangerous for humans to use, and they should know better to use it, because by choosing to use it, they will end up misusing it and possibly placing the full blame on it and scapegoating it, instead of taking the proper responsibility and admit it is their fault for using it in the first place and even misusing it when they shouldn’t of.

I guess it is thanks to watching some cartoons, like My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic and even Star Vs The Forces Of Evil, has taught me a bit that magic can be misused and even scapegoated when the user of the magic ends up misusing it....like sucking up all the magic from Equestria and placing it into three crystals and forcing ponies to get along even during small disagreements, just destroying magic when it was Moon Butterfly who had crossed a line when she had misused the magic...

I still like those two shows, but I can’t fully agree with the choices some of the characters made, and if anyone has to fix Princess Twilight’s mess, it is Sunny, Izzy, Zipp, Pipp, Hitch and Misty.

and if the magic has to be fixed the right way where it doesn’t glitch and force ponies to get along, then maybe releasing the magic by destroying those unity crystals might be the only way to fix what Princess Twilight had broken.

it will still let Earth Ponies keep their new magic, but it will also help stop the forcing everypony into “friendship” when their magic doesn’t work right.

also, if Celestia and Luna are the reason why Opaline became the way she is, then it doesn’t seem all that surprising given the whole Sunset Shimmer situation....Celestia and Luna might of still been lying about why Flurry Heart was born a Alicorn.

but anyway, even if I know that not everyone is toxic-religious and I know there are some people who are Christian, who wont be like well....some who will just assume that some stuff involves Satan, cause once again he ain’t the boss of me...

and it is possible for those who are religious or not religious at all, to end up with toxic-religious trauma because of how a toxic-religious person or a toxic-religious group had treated them.

and it could possibly cause them to become a bit sensitive and get a bit triggered when it comes to toxic-religious people and the lines they cross.

anyway I can believe that some magic is real, but also that some magic can be misused by some people and they will even misuse magic they shouldn’t of been messing with in the first place, but could still find ways to scapegoat the magic that they had misused and shouldn’t of been using in the first place.

I think I like being Neo-Spiritual better, and not everyone has to agree with it, but I’m still gonna stay in the closet about it when it comes with my family.

besides it might be fine that I don’t go by Christian anymore, plus not all my Ancestors were Christians, and some were Jewish.

anyway if by chance some do end up reading all of this, and hopefully there was no misunderstandings....I hope some can understand about my talk about the whole magic thing and how there are just some magic that people shouldn’t mess with and remember to not misuse magic, even the type that you shouldn’t be using in the first place....which once again, should NOT use the magic that shouldn’t be used by a mortal because there is a chance a mortal can misuse it and it could end up being too much for them to handle.

also no matter if it is true or not, about the whole Satan and Cain thing, but if Adam isn’t Cain’s Bio-Dad, he is still technically Cain’s true father, because sometimes your true parent, isn’t always the one who gave you life, but the one who has loved you and who had raised you, even if at times they don’t do 100% a perfect job and make some mistakes....and could end up in the gray-parenting zone.

so yeah, even if it is true that Satan was possibly Cain’s Bio-Dad, that doesn’t make him his true father, some might understand the logic of what I’m trying to explain about this, and I hope some get what I mean.

so yeah, Adam is Cain’s True Father, even if he isn’t his Biological Father.

and maybe Adam does regret not doing better in raising both Cain and Abel...

Adam wasn’t very great during his much younger days, if the info about Lilith turns out to be 100% true, and I believe it is...

Feminist, literary, and historical scholarship about witches has shaped popular culture to such a degree that the discipline has become more about unlearning everything we thought we knew about witches. Dig: A History Podcast - Doctor, Healer, Midwife, Witch: How the the Women’s Health Movement Created the Myth of the Midwife-Witch Sept 6, 2020 In 1973, two professors active in the women’s health movement wrote a pamphlet for women to read in the consciousness-raising reading groups. The pamphlet, inspired by Our Bodies, Ourselves, looked to history to explain how women had been marginalized in their own healthcare. Women used to be an important part of the medical profession as midwives, they argued — but the midwives were forced out of practice because they were so often considered witches and persecuted by the patriarchy in the form of the Catholic Church. The idea that midwives were regularly accused of witchcraft seemed so obvious that it quickly became taken as fact. There was only one problem: it wasn’t true. In this episode, we follow the convoluted origin story of the myth of the midwife-witch.

Dig: A History Podcast - Cheesecloth, Spiritualism, and State Secrets: Helen Duncan’s Famous Witchcraft Trial July 3, 2022 Helen Duncan was charged under the 1735 Witchcraft Act, but her case was no eighteenth-century sensation: she was arrested, charged, and ultimately imprisoned in 1944. American Hysteria, Eps. 64-66 - Chick Tracts, Pts. 1-3 March 20 - April 03, 2023 In his own lifetime, Jack Chick was one of most prolific and widely-read comic artists in history. His company, Chick Tracts, published hundreds of millions of copies of pocket-sized bible comics, filled with lurid illustrations of cackling demons, wicked witches, and sinister cults, all hell-bent on corrupting any hapless mortal they could get their hands on. These tracts were meant to be left where they might be found by a sinner in need of salvation, with a scared-straight morality-play approach to Christianity that contributed in no small part to the period in the late 20th century we now call the Satanic Panic. (There’s also a follow-up two-part episode about one of Chick’s “occult experts,” who claimed to be, among other things, a real-life vampire.)

DIG: A History Podcast - Werewolves, Vampires, and the Aryans of Ancient Atlantis: The Occultic Roots of the Nazi Party Oct 17, 2021 Modern movie plotlines which portray Nazi obsessions with occultism might be exaggerated for dramatic effect, but they aren't made up out of wholecloth. The NSDAP, or the National Socialist Worker's Party, was a party ideologically enabled by occultist theories about the Aryan race and vampiric Jews, on old folk tales about secret vigilante courts and nationalist werewolves, and on pseudoscientific ideas about ice moons. American Hysteria - Satanic Panic, pt 1 & 2 Dec. 10 2018 - Jan. 07, 2019 This two-part episode covers perhaps the most mystifying moral panic in US history, the 1980s and early 90s ‘Satanic Panic.’ For this episode, Chelsey covers the rise of organized Satanism beginning in the late 60s, as well as the adversarial countercultures of the hippies and the metalheads, and their apparent Satanic crimes that would be hailed as proof of their evil, as well as proof that teens, as well as children, were in serious moral peril. Satan was allegedly hypnotizing the youth with secret messages in backwards rock songs, teaching them occult magic in Saturday morning cartoons, and causing suicides through a popular role-playing games, all while helping religion blur into politics for good.

For part two, Chelsey will cover what came next, a serious investigation into an imagined network of Satanic cults ritually abusing children in daycare centers all over the country. Chelsey will try to understand this shocking decade in history, why it really happened, and the cultural issues it was really about.

BS-Free Witchcraft, Ep 10 - The Satanic Panic April 27, 2019 The Satanic Panic of the 70s, 80s, and 90s shaped the Modern Witchcraft Movement in a lot of unexpected ways. Its effects still ripple through a lot of our sources, so in this installment of the podcast we’re digging into this extremely weird part of American history. It’s a bit of a doozy, after all.

BS-Free Witchcraft - Ep. 32: A New Satanic Panic? February 27, 2021 A couple of years ago, we did an episode on the history of the Satanic Panic of the latter half of the twentieth century, but recent events have led us to ask - could it be happening again? Good morning, afternoon or night depending on the time you read this.

First at all, apologize about my grammar and orthography. I'm a Spanish native speaker and google translate is doing most of the work for me.

Now I have clarified some important points, let me tell you how excited I'm about the second season of Good Omens. I discovered the show in 2022 on my first high school year, and I really enjoyed watching every episode. I absolutely fell in love with Crowley and Aziraphale and their dynamic. Currently is one of my favourite shows and I’m trying to find the book (It’s a little hard to find in my country, but I still looking), so I want to thank you for the happiness you and Terry gave me.

To be honest the show helped me in more than one way, at the time I found Good Omens I was at the end of a crisis. My family is very, very catholic, I was raised into the religion, and that was a little problematic to me because I am a extremely curious person, so It didn't take long for me to question everything I was taught. I know my family don’t want to hurt me, on the contrary, they want to help or "save" me in the way they know but they ended up drowning me in guilt for being the way I was. When I was younger, I used to cry every night praying to God for change and stop questioning the church. Over time I stopped doing it but the guilt persisted. So I watched the show and I saw Crowley and I thought to myself maybe it wouldn't be so bad saunter vaguely downwards.

And a fun fact: I found it’s that the premiere is going to be on July 28th. Exactly in my birthday! My parents even gave me permission to skip school and watch Good Omens all day! I’m counting the days :D

(I know that there’re almost one month left, but it’s better to prepare the ground)

(non-jew here) I just realized that Holocaust Remembrance Day is this Saturday and I'm not looking forward to the pro-hamas idiots trying to make it all about Palestine and attacking Jewish people for daring to mourn while they are "killing Palestinians" (ignoring that practically 99% of Jewish people have little to no control over Palestine but that doesn't matter to antisemites because because all Jews are responsible for what's going on in Gaza in their minds)

Oh, trust me. The appropriation and inversion of the memory of the Holocaust, in order to use it as an attack against the right of Jews to self defence (which is basically the right of Jews to live) has to be one of the most vile things I've ever seen. It's a loss of shame and morals on a level I can't comprehend.

But in a way, it had to happen. Those who want a second genocide of the Jews HAVE to dismantle the biggest protection that Jews have today, which is the Jewish state. Now, Israel doesn't exist "thanks" to the Holocaust. It exists because Jews are native to Israel, and our religion and heritage have dictated never giving up on our homeland, and it exists "thanks" to the Nazis's failure during the Holocaust to eradicate every last single Jew. Israel exists in spite of the Holocaust. But the Holocaust DOES provide the ultimate proof of why the existence of a Jewish state, to shelter all Jews, is vital. So anyone who wants to destroy the Jewish state, must tackle that. And today's antisemites do that by applying "never again" to everyone other than the Jews. Never again is now. Never again means Jews have the right to defend themselves, and destroy an antisemitic, genocidal terrorist organization. Never again means supporting the war against Hamas' Nazi-compatible ideology.

TBH, this DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender) inversion is reminiscent of Nazi rhetoric, too. In his Jan 30, 1939 speech, Hitler attacked any sympathy expressed for the plight of Jews, claimed that it's the Jews who are responsible for the upcoming war, and that despite that, Jews will be the ones to pay the price for it, through their extermination in Europe.

Applying "never again" to cases where no genocide is happening, while wielding this appropriation as a weapon to deprive Jews of their right to live, means it's happening again.

On International Holocaust Memorial Day 2024, I am going to remember the Holocaust survivors who were murdered on Oct 7. I am going to think of the Holocaust survivors who were kidnapped during this massacre. I am going to recall that so many survivors sought to build their families instead of questing for blood and vengeance, and then they had to watch their families attacked, abducted and butchered by Palestinian terrorists. I am going to honor the overwhelming majority of Holocaust survivors who were Zionist, the two thirds of survivors who chose to make their home in Israel after the end of WWII, those who had to fight British soldiers and Arab attackers in order to make that happen, and the survivors who made up roughly 65% of Israel's fighters in our War of Independence.

I am going to remind everyone, that there are survivors who experienced Oct 7 as a second Holocaust.

Never again IS NOW.

Oscar Issac/Pedro Pascal Fan Art and Fiction Pride Event 2024

Hello friends!

Let's try this again and I'll try to be more clear to not invoke discourse. That being said, it is *my* event and if you'd like to run one a certain way, go nuts. However, this is how I'm doing it.

I had a lot of fun doing Dead Dove December and the Triple Frontier Anniversary Event so I decided I wanted to do an event for pride this year! I know it seems far away right now, especially given how many of us in north America are still cold af, but I wanna give everyone time!

Each week of pride will have a theme to write or draw for (you don't have to do all of them! Think of it like kinktober.) at the end, I will put out a masterlist (or multiple depending how many)so we can all share each other's work.

Why?

Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal are both allies to LGBT people, Pedro having played multiple queer rolls and having likened his sexuality to that of Prince Oberyn. Despite none of the characters being canon queer, Triple Frontier specifically lends itself to queer stories. Recently, theres been a rise in stories of Oscar characters in relationships or Pedro characters in relationships which I love.

What I'd really like to do is encourage people to think past x fem!reader or canon presentation of characters. I want to encourage gay, lesbian, bisexual relationships, trans readers, trans interpretations of characters etc. More content guidelines will be in the what section.

Where?

Primarily tumblr.com, our very own shithole hellsight. However, especially given tumblr's censorship vs. twitter, I am encouraging posting on twitter or wherever you'd like. If you post something elsewhere, send me a link or send me a post you made about it on tumblr and I'll promote the link.

When?

in order to do the week by week themes and hold all of June, there will be 6 weeks from May 26th-July 6th

Who?

Writers and artists in any form are welcome. I also want to encourage working with each other, writers and artists together!

For characters: Any Oscar Isaac or Pedro Pascal character has to at least be in the relationship. Other characters in universes can be done, such as FishBen.

Reader can be anyone, just properly tag! If you want to come out to Marc Spector as bisexual, do it!!! If you want Joel to take care of you after top surgery, do it!

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE QUEER TO PARTICIPATE!

However! Please do your research if writing or drawing an identity not yours. There are trans, nonbinary, gay, lebian etc bloggers all over tumblr who write about their experience, please divert to first person testimonies rather than assumptions.

What?

A few rules

MUST contain more than male character x fem!reader. Male character x fem!reader x male character does not count unless the two male characters are romantically or sexually involved or one or the reader is trans. Any Q's, dm me!

This is not a dark event. I'm not going to be policing the content matter but I really want to primarily focus on the pride. However, as a bisexual, gender non-conforming person I know a lot of pain can still be involved. What we are not doing is suicide, death, self-harm, or non consensual activity. If you have questions or would like to make a case for something, just dm me!

Day two: end of the tour..

On July 31st, 2005, Velvet was born along with her younger twin brother. Her parents only wanted a boy, so she never got a lot of attention. She was cared for on and off by her parents and grandparents. Velvet made a strong connection with her grandmother, January, who was a famous singer in her days. Her grandmother was the main reason she wanted to start singing.

At the age of six, she was enrolled to a private primary school with her brother. Velvet became instantly popular for her famous grandmother and dentist parents. She became friends with almost everybody and loved her younger years. In year 3, her grandmother passed away. It was difficult on Velvet as she lost her main caretaker and friend.

At the start of secondary school, Velvet started becoming rebellious. She and Veneer would sneak out of the house to go to parties, smoke, etc. Eventually, the two were caught. As a punishment, they were given too many activities to worry about instead of sneaking off. She really started to despise her parents.

Velvet would skip her extracurriculars and use her free time to hangout with her friends or sleep. In year 12, she started dating. Velvet was dating the goalie for the school’s football team. However, he was a cunt. He was toxic and emotionally abusive towards Velvet.

This relationship was very draining for her. It made Velvet’s mental health really decline. One day, she got into a heated argument, and he hit her. Velvet went to protect herself, but Veneer jumped in and beat the fuck out of him. Safe to say, he never messed with her again.

Around that time, she started her singing career. Velvet would post her songs on SoundCloud, and got a few thousand followers! She felt consumed by the fame and wanted MORE. Velvet convinced her twin brother to start singing with her a bit after. They became insanely famous stupidly fast.

Velvet was blinded by her fame and money, making her toxic and controlling. It was so bad that she had to go to weekly therapy to control herself. She moved out of her parents house and into a beach home for her and Veneer.
