with jason returning back to the public eye after stating his death was a hoax and he was actually missing for years, he expected his name to be in the headlines and trending or whatever
he wasn’t expecting the exact twitter headline “jason todd for president” and he’s so confused because he still doesn’t 100% get all of the trending memes
so he just goes with it and legitimately starts campaigning and suddenly he’s actually getting real support? and now he’s in the actual running for the president of the United States??
roy is his vice president

I really like imagining the Lazarus Pit left Jason with some neat side effects that may not be conventional but boy are they useful.
1. Accelerated healing. It’s not fast, or instantaneous, but it’s how he can take one bit more than he should have, where his heart can beat faster and survive more damage to it and how his lungs can not only hold a lot more volume of air but partially help him breathe a little underwater too. His organs are a stronger and harder to break, and his bones and muscles are so strong Jason can’t injure them even if he tried. It’s also why he doesn’t care if he smokes, because he knows his lungs will heal.
2. A lil bit of night vision. Not enough to see completely in pitch black, but enough to differentiate forms from backgrounds.
3. When emotions are heightened his eyes shine a specific shade of green. No one ever questioned it cuz they were used to his heterochromia, but it’s an almost unnoticeable subtle glow. His scare glow too, not the ones he had but the ones he did before he died. They’re like ghost scars, and they shimmer and glow over his skin.
4. Water calms him. It’s a bit contradictory, I know and Jason gets brief flashbacks and anxiety when he’s completely submerged in water, but he has an advantage. The Lazarus’s lingering effects not only strengthen him in water, they heal him faster and allow him to feel disturbances in the water around him, like an intuition.

came back wrong trope but the character knows that they came back wrong. they’re so acutely aware of how different they are now from how they were before that it drives them fucking insane. they’re stuck trying to return to somebody that’s long dead. they can never be the person they once were. everybody around them knows it. deep down, they know it too, but they’re trapped in a cycle of their own making. of trying to revive someone that no longer exists.

Bruce didn’t mean to slice Jason’s throat and if he did mean it, it was only to disable , it wasn’t lethal and the wound would’ve been treated, and though that didn’t happen it wasn’t Bruce who sealed Jason’s fate but Joker who set off the explosion, and anyways Jason didn’t actually die he comes back in other comics.
Except none of that matters. It matters for the validity of UTRH as a Batman story that Bruce has deniability sure, but does it absolve him? UTRH says No. At the end of the day Bruce would rather attack his son than let his murderer die. Bruce thought he was refusing the choice but the lesson of this tragedy is that refusing to pick one over the other boils down to choosing the other.

Lost Bird Returns
It wasn't strange that Danny chased Desiree, or that she refused to return to the Infinite Realms. What was strange was that she decided to leave Amity Park.
That made things 200% more difficult for the halfa because outside of Amity no one had the "no desiring" rule; while Danny was grateful that Amity was kept "secret" and no one knew what was going on inside (and that was a pain in the ass to accomplish), it was also a disadvantage in those situations.
Mainly because Desiree could stay invisible and listen to people's wishes. Like at that moment, where he found her smiling next to Batman, and damn it, what wish had she granted?
Batman, unaware of his unfortunate situation, was watching the streets of Gotham gloomily. It was Jason's death anniversary and they'd had another fight, which happened a lot in those days, but Bruce couldn't help but think of simpler days.
"I wish he could get his spark back" the dark knight lamented, accidentally sealing his son's fate.
And though Danny had caught Desiree in the thermos, the wish had already been made. The halfa didn't know enough to reverse it either.
A few days later rumors began to be heard of a ghost haunting Gotham. A boy dressed in a burnt uniform with a strange look on his face.
Robin, the lost part of Jason Todd that had been trapped in the Realms so long ago was back, and not even the Lazarus Pits would keep him away this time.

Considering cloning is A Thing in the DC universe, do you think Jason ever worries if he's the original Jason Todd? What if the original Jason Todd died and the league of assassins got their hands on his corpse and made a clone, complete with the og Jason's memories? How would he ever know?
Even if that's very unlikely, the fact that there's a chance - however slight - that it could be true...... if I was Jason that would haunt me forever

DPXDC Prompt #81
Danny and Jason are twins and they always stick together like they’re glued together. After they’re orphaned Jason gets the bright idea to steal tires from the Batmobile of all things. Both of them get adopted by Bruce Wayne and they both get trained as Robin. Then they both die getting beat to death by the Joker. Both of them get dug up by Talia and after both of them emerge from the pits Jason gets trained by Talia and Danny gets sent to work with 2 scientists who worked closely with the pits.
They were working on an artificial lazurus pit and Ras wasn’t happy with their progress yet. Danny gets thrown into the tube to fiddle with it where it accidentally turns on with him inside. Danny dies again and becomes a halfa. Soon both Danny and Jason escape from the league of assassins and make their way back to Gotham.

I fucking love presentations. If I had anyone to give presentations to, I’d give one about Gothic-revival architecture because dhsjsjhw it’s so pretty.
And I saw somewhere that Wayne manor was built in the mid-1800s and I just jumped for joy lmao.
I’m a huge fucking nerd, but so are y’all because you really want to see me make a bunch of floor plans so—

time loop au where jason's stuck reliving the day of his death. he wakes up already trapped in that abandoned warehouse, and has to ensure that bruce is able to find him before the bomb goes off, or escape and locate him himself.
he tries so hard and exhausts almost every plan he's been able to think of, at the same time experiencing every single variation of joker torture and then some. there was even one day where joker wasn't his captor at all, batman was. he's lived through hundreds of days of it before he finally breaks the loop.
and the way he does it is by doing nothing at all, and letting himself die with no hope in the possibility of bruce saving him.

(angst alert !! death + slight blood tw !!)
Tim is stuck in a sticky situation and has to call a certain 'spooky' friend for help.
Jason would probably call him a dumbass for trying to do something so stupid. Well, atleast thats what Tim thinks Jason would do, he isn't for sure though, he isn't certain.
Because Jason's laying on the ground with a flat pulse and he wont be giving him any answers anytime soon.
---
“Don' look so weird replacement, its just anoth’r day in gotham.” His brother slurs with the slight quirk of his lips
"Jason don't fucking do this to me!" Tim hisses tears cursing his eyes
And Jason, oh that bastard—bleeding out on the pavement and in Tim’s arms sends him his classic beaming Robin Smile.
"Love ya' little bro take care of yo'rself, kay?" he says eyes fluttering
"Jay," Tim cries, "You dick."
For all the joy and hope and belief his smile conveyed for the first time in a long time—his red blood muddled what should’ve been such a nice sight. Tim held him on the pavement with someone yelling on the comm mic on the floor that he just can’t bother trying to pay attention to.
The pavement is cold. The air is cold. His brother is cold. It’s all so cold tonight.
All the younger boy does close his eyes and slowly, In. Out. In. Out.
He lets himself breathe for a minute. Lets the horror wash over him. Lets himself absorb what just happened,
Then he gets back to work.
Like a switch his brain is back online running at a hundred miles an hour–what is the best scenario, what should I do when my brother's wrist is limp and his eyes are shut, what do I do if he’s dead again, what can i do, how can I Fix. This.
Thoughts cloud his mind, whirring around his head like layers and layers of messy documents has just been dumped on his desk and he’s shuffling through them panicked trying to find the right file because its somewhere here, there is something and he just needs to sort. it. out. And–
Then it all becomes clear.
His desk is back to clean and stationary. All of the papers are gone back into neat piles in neat manila folders, stored away in tidy filing shelves–
Everything is gone aside from one little yellow sticky note in the center of the desk.
“Well, Jay?” Tim chuckles with a cracked voice, “Second times the charm right?”
In his mind, at the center of it all, on a yellow sticky note lies the words in green ink: ‘Contact The Ghost King.’
Slowly he shifts and with a loud grunt he lifts up Jason, “Up we go!”
“--im? Why do you have Red Hood’s Comm–Tim what happened! Tim!” the comm speaker plays faintly in the background of his head, “Tim! Whatever you’re thinking off doing, don’t!” someone Tim can’t think about hisses
Tim hums absentmindedly towards the mic, almost automatically, “Don’t worry Babs, I’ve got it covered.”
Walking away from the roof he thinks to himself, I wonder where Jason would wanna wake up? Perhaps his apartment? Yea, i think that would go well by him–let’s head to the apartment.
And just like that Tim leaves a crime scene—shuffling away with a dead body over his shoulder and a plan.
“Jay,” Tim murmurs to the corpse on his shoulder, “You’re really gonna hate this, but i’m doing this for you anyways cause I love you. So dont be too hard on me when you wake up okay asshole?”
Tim stumbles off into the stairwell making his descent and sometime as he walks away Barbara faintly catches him on the comm saying
“-Your gonna love Danny and making your lame 'im a dead guy' jokes with him man .”

So I just had a small realization.
TW: Very rough description of autopsy procedures and handling of a corpse.
I haven't done much research so I could be getting somethings wrong, so if you are a medical examiner/mortician and you want to correct something, go ahead, I'd be up to learn more about autopsies just for curiosity sake.
So we all know when Jason came back to life he crawled out of his grave, which is already a horrible. But something I only just thought about is how, when he first came back in that coffin, he wouldn't be able to open his eyes or mouth.
Depending on the protocol for autopsies in Gotham, his eyes could be glued shut or held shut with contact like things that have tiny spikes that dig into the eyelid keeping it in place.
And as for his mouth, again this depends on what exactly the medical examiner that handled Jason's autopsy does because there are a few ways to keep a deceased person's mouth shut post-mortem. One is to sew the mouth closed, another is by using a special mouthguard that contains tiny spikes on the outer surface that keeps the mouth closed permanently....
So yeah, I realized all this and felt really sad because Jason has already gone through so much, and adding these small details build an even bigger picture of just how traumatizing it would be.

Not so alive, after all
Jason Todd died, that's a fact. What no one notices is that he never revived. What came out of his grave was not a body, or a corpse, but a ghost, taking the form of his wishes. The only reason the League of Assassins was able to see him at first was their connection to the pits.
Ghosts take on the appearance they want, depending on how they feel. Which is why Jason's ghost kept "growing" during his training with the League. Everyone in the League could see and touch him because being submerged in the pits (toxic pools of ectoplasm) gave him the strength to manifest. Even though the ectoplasm was clearly tainted and diverted his obsession.
So, Jason Todd wasn't a zombie, or a revived human. He was a very powerful and remarkably sick ghost. Something that went unnoticed by his whole family (They could see him, touch him, and obviously he ate, his green eyes were the influence of the pits and that was all for them.)
Or at least it did, until he began to grow weak (he had spent a lot of time away from the pits and the ectoplasm on his environment wasn't enough), and his illness worsened. When Dick tried to take his hand during a discussion about his health and he went through it, Jason began to panic.
A week later, when a green note told him to "go to Gotham Cemetery to find out the truth" without further explanation, he decided to follow it. It was probably a trap and he should check his security system but what did he have to lose?
His humanity, apparently; "Phantom" looked extremely nervous when it came to explaining. But Jason had gone blank ever since he heard the "you were never alive" and "you need a doctor"
Well, fuck.
