There's something so bittersweet about the childhood flashbacks in tua. They were all children together. Reginald was horrible, but they had each other. And then everything went to shit. Five's 13 year old body a bitter reminder of what once was. His siblings in their adult bodies a reminder of how things should've been. God,,,,

FALLING FOR YOU
Tumblr media
featuring. the dateables (diavolo, barbatos, simeon, solomon).
summary. you're really clumsy, like... incredibly so, they genuinely don't know how you've survived this long.
warnings. gn! reader, clumsy reader.
Tumblr media
꒰ ♡ ꒱ ─── DIAVOLO
Did Diavolo take advantage of your clumsiness to play knight in shining armor? Yes, yes he did. He couldn't help himself, you see, because you really did need saving, and if it meant he could get praised by you, then really it's just a bonus. Diavolo always found amusement in your clumsiness, whether you liked it or not.
And right now, his 'y/n-is-about-to-fall' senses were tingling. He heard the familiar sound of your voice calling his name. He turned around, beaming at your form. "Good morni-"
It didn't even take five seconds, your ankle rolling funny and causing you to trip over yourself! You're prepared to come in contact with the polished castle floors, but it never comes, instead you're lifted off the ground completely and into the strong arms of Diavolo.
"Gotcha." He says, grinning smugly. "Are you alright? That could've been pretty bad..."
"Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm okay!" You say, smiling softly up at him. Diavolo waits, still holding you, but when you don't praise him, he begins to pout. "What's... What's wrong?"
"Don't I get a 'thank you' for saving you?" You chuckle, ruffling his hair, causing him to laugh in turn. Then pushing yourself up slightly, you press a kiss to his cheek.
"Thanks for saving me, my hero~" You say teasingly, but Diavolo's face just grows warm. Ah, your hero? Really? You have no idea what you've just unleashed, Diavolo will now be certain to catch you everytime!
꒰ ♡ ꒱ ─── BARBATOS
Barbatos already has his hands full with Diavolo, but since adding you, the clumsy exchange student, he's been overworking. He didn't mind though, he had no issues playing hero when it came to you, often times saving you before you even manage to get yourself into accidents due to your clumsiness.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Barbatos!" You call with a happy smile, waving and not paying attention to what's in front of you. Barbatos' moved swiftly, lightly taking your shoulders and moving you out of the way of the door you were about to run into.
Your eyes widen, just then realizing the large door in front of you. "That was a close one! Thank you!" You grin, squeezing his hand lightly to reassure him you'll be okay from here on out. Barbatos couldn't help but worry though— he feels that you've only grown more clumsy since he's met you.
"Please be safe." He sighs, and you give him a thumbs up before continuing on only to trip over your own feet. "I-..."
Really, Barbatos should've seen this one coming. He once again makes quick and agile moves, approaching you and helping you up. You've scrapped your hands, but otherwise you're alright. Barbatos shakes his head, taking your hands and giving them soft kisses.
"What am I to do with you, hm?" He asks, peeking up at you, a teasing lilt in his voice. "Come on, let me clean you up before sending you back home."
꒰ ♡ ꒱ ─── SIMEON
Simeon swears you'll be the death of him, as you somehow manage to accidentally miss your seat and fall straight on your ass. "Ah- are you okay?" Simeon rushes to your side, helping you up as you rub your ass.
"Uh, yeah, I guess... hurts," You grumble, wincing as you sit down (carefully, this time). Simeon watches you in horror as you just nonchalantly begin to talk about something else. Didn't that hurt? A lot? Aren't humans incredibly fragile? His heart is going to give out.
"Do you need any ice?" He asks after snapping out of his daze, concern dripping from his tone. You look up at him, and can see the worry written all over his face. It's sweet, how much he cares for your wellbeing, but you know just how clumsy you are and can't help but wonder if he'll ever get used to it?
"I'm okay, Simeon, just sit down!" You usher him to sit down. Simeon still eyes you nervously, but sits down.
"Just how often does stuff like this happen?" Simeon asks, wondering if he should swaddle you up in bubble wrap every morning before you two go out. How much does bubble wrap cost?
You sigh, leaning over the table and taking his hand in yours, smiling reassuringly. "Simeon," your smile drops, a deathly serious look in your eyes that shakes him to his core. "It happens... so often..." Then suddenly your back to your happy self, "Anyways, let's start on this homework!"
Simeon is... concerned, to say the least.
꒰ ♡ ꒱ ─── SOLOMON
After witnessing you trip over nothing seven times, run into several walls and doors, accidentally drop all your stuff, and many other acts of clumsiness, Solomon started experimenting with his potions to find a way to... cure (?) your clumsiness. He just couldn't understand how one person could be so clumsy! Your body littered in random bruises and scraps.
"Seriously," Solomon tsks, "can't you just wait until I finish the potion before doing... anything?" You furrow your brows— potion? What potion? Before you can question him, he begins inspecting you for any other bruises.
"Sol! I'm fine, really!" You say, however Solomon finds another new bruise and points it out. "Okay, well... yeah, I don't know how I got that, but listen-" He puts a finger to your lips, effectively stopping you from speaking.
"Not another word." He says, looking you over. "Just... Just stay seated. I'll be finished soon." He turns around to face his cauldron, a concoction brewing in there. Test forty-three, but he's feeling good about this one!
"Finished with what?" You ask, leaning back in the seat boredly, staring up at his ceiling. Solomon sighs, adding some ingredient you've never heard of before. He's about to speak when a loud clatter sounds from where you are. Whipping around, you pop your head up and laugh, smiling at him nervously.
"H- How did that happen?" You spit out quickly, scrambling to fix the chair and sit in it properly. "Anyways, you were saying?"
Solomon can't help the lopsided smile that grows on his face. At least you always seemed optimistic? He sighs, maybe he'll finish testing out a new potion tomorrow and spend the rest of the day with you and your clumsy self.

I'm trying to stay optimistic but the recent chapter was such a letdown after all of this speculation, and I'm really not ready for afo gave tenko decay to become canon :(
So, same as you, I've always hated the 'AFO gave Tenko Decay' theory, but I think it’s important to examine why.
What I hate is less of the actual act - it is incredibly possible, after all, that AFO just gave this kid descendant of a hated enemy such a deadly quirk for his own twisted ends; and more in fear of what the confirmation of it might signifies - cheap 'easy-way-out' writing that would pretend to solve the problem of Shimura Tenko/Shigaraki Tomura while not actually doing so:
If Tenko was given Decay, then it means the Shimura massacre and then The Walk could've been avoided! 🎉 Because Tenko's hurt and anger at being repeatedly rejected by his father and family would not have manifested in such a lethal way, and so... what? Could've been ignored for a little longer? Wouldn't have sent him to the streets, where people should've helped him but didn't, and now Shigaraki's making them paying for that? (Somewhat related, I’ve seen people suggest that Decay makes Tenko itch because his body isn’t compatible with it, a la Aoyama - the itch is caused by the quirk. However, the day AFO brought Tenko home and Tenko was locked outside, Tenko already had scars around his eyes, and his mom was worried about “his allergies getting worse”. This suggests Tenko was already itchy and scratching at himself before he ever met AFO (and received the quirk that day). And given how the itch represents Tenko/Shigaraki’s frustration and anxiety, that Tenko says he’s only itchy in the house, demonstrates the Shimura household problem was a thing that hurt him long before AFO ever showed up that day.)
If Tenko was given Decay, then it means Shigaraki/Tenko is not innately a destructive and twisted child! Such a sweet kid would not have such a evil quirk! And he has no good reason to want to destroy stuff! 🎉 Because we're going to believe in the idea that ''Bad' Quirks Makes You A Bad Person’. And throw kids who do have unpleasant traits for whatever reason under the bus. And act as if Shigaraki wants to destroy because he's beholden to a gene inside of him, instead of having perfectly valid reasons to be angry and want to lash out.
If Tenko was given Decay, it means we don't have to worry about the 'what ifs' of having a deadly quirk like this even if the massacre never happen! 🎉 Because what if Decay was a naturally-occuring quirk? How would Heroes that aren't Eraserhead have dealt with an accident from such a quirk? Would Tenko have been forced to enroll in Quirk Counseling, which we know from Toga is such a great program? Would Tenko have grown up discriminated against, much like Shinsou, or worse? And these things are absolutely factors that would make someone feel ostracized in society and lash out, even without the backing of a crime lord?
If Tenko was given Decay, we have thee easiest way to deal with Shigaraki Tomura: the story can blame AFO for being the instigator of all tragedy and suffering - without Heroes needing to own up to the fact the society they've have been propping up for a century might play some role in creating Villains through countless, unintentional ways. The focus - the supposed real tragedy - becomes the fact that AFO gave Tenko a scary quirk, and Deku can focus his energies on that… instead of where, imo, the actual tragedies lie - an unhappy and dysfunctional home of generational trauma that was never dealt with, a city full of people who ignored an injured five-year-old because they put off all communal responsibility on Heroes*, and how this can all happen in a 'Hero-saturated society' without Tenko being helped in any of the multiple steps it took to get him to where he ended up under the bridge, being hugged by AFO.
* bonus: none of the people on the street knew what quirk Tenko had, so… what are we to make of this fact? Tenko could've easily been injured in a car accident, walked away, and still be ignored if AFO isn't revealed to made everyone ignore Tenko as well? But that would've been okay, Shigaraki would've been less pissed off, because it wasn't part of a villainous mastermind plot?
Meanwhile, Shigaraki would be only a sad little pawn, an empty victim crammed with a deadly quirk and engineered trauma and fake wrath, and once Deku saves him by telling him his entire life was a lie, that he actually has no reason to feel so betrayed and angry (can't even direct that at AFO anymore, because the man’s gone), Shigaraki can (selfishly!) forget his friends and his experiences and take pleasure in knowing he wasn't supposed to be a Villain. He was supposed to be a Good Person, without an Evil Quirk, and now he can assimilate back into his rightful, conforming proper place in society!
However–I don’t think that sounds like Shigaraki at all. It could happen! God forbid it, but that is how Horikoshi can end up writing the character and the conclusion. I don’t know how likely that is.
What I do know, though, is that Shigaraki is someone who already knows AFO is a manipulative asshole:
In Chapter 237, while reflecting on his newly regained memories, Shigaraki considers, “If only, back then, someone, anyone, had reached out to help… then maybe the itch would’ve gone away for good.” That he specifically says this last part after remembering specifically how AFO had found him, Shigaraki knew AFO didn’t actually help him, else the itch would’ve faded.
In Chapter 277, Shigaraki is not particularly surprised that the AFO quirk comes with AFO’s ‘too-strong’ will. (Then tells AFO is shut up.)
In Chapter 298, after AFO gives a whole spiel about how Shigaraki asked for this power, Shigaraki declares that he’s not going to be AFO’s “stinkin’ pawn”. (And started looking for a way to undermine AFO’s control)
In Chapter 379, Shigaraki outright states that he knew AFO was manipulating him, especially trying to make use of the Shimura and All Might connection. (And defeats the AFO vestige from inside out, taking his body back.)
Unfortunately, Shigaraki is also someone who knows all this, but will still continue to rely on AFO’s double-edged gifts - keeping The Hands with him all this time; partnering with the Doctor; utilizing Gigantomachia into his Deika plan despite not having gained Gigantomachia’s respect yet; undergoing the surgery to receive the AFO quirk.
And finally, Shigaraki is someone who has already regained all his memories, back in MVA. He remembers being five-years-old and still not having manifested his quirk. He remembers AFO telling him that his quirk is a rare variant mutation, just so happened to be one that no one has ever seen before. In the latest chapter, the vision of Tenko holding hands with a man in a suit - that is Shigaraki’s memory. Shigaraki remembers this moment, of being Tenko and walking home, escorted by a stranger in a suit. And it appears, right after Deku declares that he’s going to keep striking at Shigaraki until he reaches the pain Shigaraki has buried and covered up with a lid.
What I’m getting at is this: I think - I hope! - there is a possibility that, if AFO did indeed give Tenko Decay, Shigaraki already knows AFO gave him the quirk - figured it out when he got his memories back, most likely - but is beyond caring. He knows Decay was given to him, that AFO had that hand in causing the massacre; but still Shigaraki uses it, still decides to embody the quirk as his.
Because however Shigaraki got Decay, it really doesn’t change anything about how the world works. It doesn’t change how his dad was locking him out of the house before he ever got any quirk, simply because he couldn’t/didn't want to follow a rule; and it doesn’t change how he was ignored by everyone that day on the street, and no one knew at all what quirk he had or what he did. Manifesting Decay only punted him down into a miserable social position that already existed - not for him at that moment in time, but for someone else; only gave him the ability to witness something that had always been there all the more clearly.
Now, this is very much a cope. But I can cope with the 'AFO gave Tenko Decay’, if it actually ends up giving Deku a harder time saving Shigaraki, if it forces Deku to become unable to blame AFO, because that was never the real injustice Shigaraki has been lashing out against. That’s really the main thing.
Thanks for the ask, anon! Sorry it’s long and rambling.

Five Senses - Part 1
Chapter Three
Tumblr media
Sooyoung ended up going home anyways as Yuta persisted because he didn't want her to grab too much attention in his place. He walked her home himself, seeing it was already dark when they teleported back to the park.
"You know, you can always come visit me." Sooyoung said smiling as they reached the gate of her house. Yuta smiled back.
"I'll consider it. Besides you're kind of my responsibility now, it's my job to make sure you're safe and healthy." he said. He moved closer and gently tugged her arm, pulling her into a sudden hug. "Thank you."
"For what?" Sooyoung chuckled hugging him back. Yuta pulled out still smiling, and pushed strands of hair behind her ear.
"For not being mad. You accepted what happened really calmly, and I can't be any more thankful to you for that." he took her hand and gave a soft kiss on the back. Sooyoung felt her face heat up and quickly fanned it with her free hand before they looked at each other smiling. "I'll go, get inside first."
Sooyoung headed in, and looked out to see him already gone. She smiled to herself and turned away, met by her parents, her smile disappearing instantly.
"Why were you out so late?" her mother asked her. Sooyoung rolled her eyes and headed for the stairs, when she repeated her question.
"It doesn't matter where I was. I'm home aren't I. And for your information, I'm a grown woman with a job, so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing."
Her father stood up in a haste, smashing his cup onto the table. "How dare you speak to your mother like that!?! Go to your room!"
"Why should I listen to you anymore!?! I'm not a child!" Sooyoung yelled back and ran out the door, going anywhere she could, anywhere was better than at home. She ended up back in the town center and spotted a club, deciding to go in for a little while. Although she wasn't much of a drinker, she ordered some light beer wanting to feel at least a little calmed.
"Hey... Sooyoung is here!"
Sooyoung turned and faced her childhood friend, feigning a smile. Doyoung sensed her sadness, suddenly sobering up a little seeing her sadness. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked sitting next to her, arm around her shoulder. "Parents?"
Her sigh was enough for him to know the answer. "Something happened today, really weird and kind of scary. But, it wasn't that bad, and I was in a good mood... I should've known better than to go straight home..."
Doyoung sighed and hugged her, wondering what was it that made her feel happy. "What was that scary yet good thing?" he asked curiously. Sooyoung looked at him and but her lip.
"I found my soul mate..."
"But you don't believe in that though."
"He's a vampire."
Doyoung choked on his drink, eyes widened making him look more like a rabbit than he already did. "Wh- What did you... Where? No, who is it?"
Sooyoung thought of an answer, but to her own surprise thinking about it made her smile. "Apparently for vampires, soul mate is someone you'll spend your life with and they usually meet them after they passed legal age, and until they meet them they feel sick or hurt inside sometimes. For Yuta however, I'm the first and only human soul mate a vampire ever had, so he was even more in pain. I found him at the park, fainted from the pain. When I touched him to help him up, it..." she trailed off.
"What what!?!" Doyoung suddenly exclaimed. "Don't leave me on edge Park Sooyoung!" he shook her arm causing her to laugh.
"Well, apparently you'll know it's your soul mate when you interact by your five senses and the pain goes away, and your not sick anymore. When I held him to help him up, he then looked at me, and then I'm guessing he heard my voice. Last two are a little weird, but he smelt and tasted my blood, and he was all better." she saw his bewildered face and chuckled, before telling him the rest of the story, until when he walked her home.
"Woah..." Doyoung gawked. "That's... Amazing?" he stuttered a little, too shocked by this new information. The last thing he'd guess was that there was a completely different world along theirs, and now his best friend is part of it. But he suddenly remembered something else, and now became worried for her. "But what about your parents, and... Sungjae?"
Sooyoung looked away pursing her lips, sighing out loud. Doyoung knew she was trying to not think of the fact that her parents were obviously trying to get her into a forced marriage with the said man, but she was far from doing that. At least that's what she hoped.
"Sooyoung," he called her holding her hand."I think you should accept this man, the vampire I mean."
Sooyoung looked at him instantly. "Why do you think so?" she asked softly, genuinely wanting an answer.
"Well, from how you've said it seems like they treat you well, better than your parents actually. And this man, he gave you a choice despite knowing that he'd die if you don't accept it. And he's even taking responsibility to take care of you without knowing anything about you at all. I mean, I know it's practically his job, but he seems really caring about you."
Sooyoung thought about it for a short while. Even though Doyoung was right, she was still a little hesitant about it. Sighing for the nth time she finished her drink and decided to leave. "I think I'll go for now."
"I'll walk you home." Doyoung said about to get up, but she stopped him.
"It's OK, I'll be fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." she hugged him tight before leaving. "Thanks for the talk. I'll go now."
"Bye Sooyoung."
Sooyoung walked out into the dark streets. It was even quieter now than when she came, considering it was past midnight. She felt something odd, and shivered a little.
Is Yuta following me? She thought as she continued walked on towards a dark area where the street lights were off. Feeling a cold presence, she turned and looked around for anything that made her feel this way.
Failing to realise she was walking on the road the whole time.

Re: To love
To: D I didn't know loving someone could hurt like this.
It hurts that I can't be with you. It hurts that I can only love you until I no longer do. and I can only do that from a distance.
Ang complicated. Often times, I think that it's all infatuation and sa idea lang ko in love. Pero I don't think so. My soul doesn't think so.
Every time my heart beats abnormally just thinking about you, every time i fidget when you're near me, every time I say I'm over you pero once I see you again, nababaliw ako, I don't think it's all just a stupid crush.
Maybe because it progressed kasi it's been going on for a long period of time that the fall was too deep. Maybe I should've stopped when I was still a few meters from the shore, back then when I knew I could still swim back? Or maybe it was bound to happen anyway kahit anong gawin ko?
Sometimes, I wish it was other people who found me outside the backstage. I wish you referred me to someone who could help me. I wish you weren't nice enough to help me find a seat. I wish I didn't tell you that I brought materials with me so Sir C could've grown fonder of me because of different things, then, I would've not thanked God every day for sending you that day.
Sometimes, I wish I could forget that part of my memories so it would make forgetting about you easier.
Hay.
How sure am I that this is love? How sure am I that still thinking about you when I'm at my busiest is love? How sure am I that aching for you is love? That caring for you and wanting only the best things in life for you is love?
It hurts that this is wrong. Lahat, siguro, ng angles, mali 'to. But everytime, everytime you look at me, I see nothing but a sign to not stop my heart.
I remember that time, you were singing your favorite song, I was singing along although I had no idea what the lyrics were, trying to figure them out as everyone else sang. You looked at me, every time you sang those three words. Every time I remember how our lips synchronously move, mouthing the same words, naffrustrate lang ako. Kasi I knew that wasn't the context, yet I was feeling something different.
Even hearing my first name, when it comes from you, is different. I never thought I'd love my name so much until I heard it from you.
That tone that was exclusive to you, that mood of yours that was exclusice for me, na kahit anong simangot or poker face mo, tapos pag nakasalubong kita, sobrang cheery ng boses mo. That your face lights up when our eyes meet. You know, I don't know why I still remember vividly when I heard your name spoken in class for the first time. I don't know why I remember the way Jian was fidgeting because he was too shy to recite in front. I don't know why your name was familiar, then, and why my mind chose to remember how intrigued I was, hearing your name.
I wanted to gatekeep you so bad. But I wanted the whole world to love you, as well. We can only get one thing at a time, the same way that in a game, only one could win. And you made them fall for you without trying.
Like my prior letter says, my friends love you and they see, and love the parts of you that I have always loved first, since then, ever since then. But they will never know you for the things that I've seen and still see. I don't think they will ever see you the same way I do.
For all the couldn't, shouldn't and wouldn't, for the sake of the could have, should have and would have. To love you 'til the day it fades, which I fear, will not arrive sooner, or later. For five years, H.

“you know I love you”
Find the OC version of this fic here.
You know I love you."
"I know."
You knew he hadn't meant what he'd said. He was having a bad week, and he'd drunk himself to oblivion while you’d walked aimlessly around outside for an hour with Roach. He'd stumbled out of the tavern, and you’d desperately tried to get him away from the village before he killed someone or gave a bard the opportunity to write a song about a drunk witcher.
It was the first time you’d been put in a situation like that—a situation where you had to step into the role of protector. And he'd grown annoyed with you trying to pull him away, and he'd said it. "Should've left you in the fucking basket."
It'd hit you pretty hard, and you’d paused in shock for the briefest of moments, but you’d forced yourself and him forward all the same and sat awake while he slept. Awake and thinking. He'd woken quite early though, and you could tell that if he remembered anything from last night, it was that sentence.
You were curled up beside him now. You could practically feel the guilt radiating off the arms wrapped tightly around you.
"I didn't mean it—”
"I know, Geralt." You did know. You were the only thing keeping him sane and the both of you knew that more than anything else. Everyone said things they regretted, everyone had shitty days and let falsities spill from their lips without meaning to and without meaning them.
"Sure?"
"Promise."
It still hurt a little.
 Witcher Masterpost
send me the first sentence of a fanfic and i’ll write the next five, except i don’t know when to stop writing so i guarantee there’ll be more than five

a bad day — draco malfoy
pairing: draco malfoy x female!reader
summary: when reader has a bad day, draco comes to the rescue.
a/n: this is literally a depiction of how i'm feeling bc of school and what i desperately want to happen DDD: oh to have a draco malfoy in my life
requests are closed for now. please refrain from plagiarizing my work!
Tumblr media
[Y/N] is having a bad day.
Scratch that; every second of it so far has been downright awful. She wonders what on earth she must have done to deserve the pumpkin juice that had been knocked over into her lap during breakfast, the bad grade she got on the Charms essay she’d worked her arse off of for, and on top of that, twenty points she lost off of Slytherin because she was too tired and kept dozing off in Transfiguration class.
Long story short: [Y/N] is absolutely knackered. she trudges out of Potions class, a scowl etched firmly on her face, and merely grunts out a “hi” when her best friend, Draco Malfoy, comes up to her in the middle of the hallway.
"What's got you in a bad mood today?" says Draco, snickering, keeping pace beside her as they shoulder their way through the stream of students in the corridor, which is loud with the sound of chatter and movement.
"Don't even get me started," [Y/N] grumbles. If the sour look on her face isn't enough to indicate that she's feeling gutted, then the tone of her voice seals the deal; she sounds as though she's been through a five-mile marathon and back. "Everything's going bloody wrong."
Draco glances at her, arm bumping into hers as they squeeze through a group of fourth-years. There's a smirk on his face. "Should I keep my distance?" he asks. "In case you lose it and start jabbing your wand at people out of nowhere."
"That was one time," says [Y/N], deadpan. "and I was eight."
"Old habits don't break easy," grins Draco. His hand reaches out to grab at the sling of her bag. [Y/N] shoots him a look. "I'm offering to carry it for you, woman," he says, scoffing out a laugh.
[Y/N] side-eyes him. "Who are you and what have you done to my best friend," she mutters, exhaling heavily as she shrugs her satchel off and hands it out to Draco, the corners of her lips tugging up briefly as thanks. "What class do you have next?"
"Potions," replies Draco without looking at her. He shifts her bag over his shoulder, frowning. "Blimey, have you been carrying this around all day?" He looks over at her, something like reprimand lacing his tone. "No wonder you've been so cheesed off. What's this got in it, a pile of rocks?"
[Y/N] rolls her eyes. "Textbooks. And if you've got Potions, you missed your turn." She jerks her head back, indicating the fork in the hallway they just passed a minute ago. "Classroom's back there."
"I know," shrugs Draco, and leaves it at that.
They stop at the door of the Ancient Runes classroom—[Y/N]'s next class. She sighs, pursing her lips in a grimace, and turns to Draco. "Thanks for walking me," she says, trying for a smile as she holds her hand out for her bag. "And for carrying my bag. You can be a good best friend sometimes—wow, I cannot believe I just said that."
It's Draco's turn to roll his eyes, albeit playfully. It's a familiar sight; Draco's snarkiness is something [Y/N] has grown far too used to. "I've always been a good best friend—you've just never said it out loud before," he grins. Ignoring [Y/N]'s outstretched hand, Draco sets her bag down on the floor and then proceeds to extend his arms out in front of him.
[Y/N] stares, blinking. "What are you doing."
Another eye roll. "Offering you a hug," Draco replies, as though she should've known all along. He wrings his hands out slightly as though gesturing for her to come close. "Come on, get in here. One-time offer."
She blinks again, taking a moment or two to register his words. Once she has, this time, the corners of her lips tug up without trouble.
Shaking her head in disbelief, she lets out a small laugh and takes the two steps forward needed to close the distance between them. Still with that same dubious yet pleased smile on her face, she wraps her arms around Draco's middle, muttering, "This is so strange," as Draco wraps his arms around her shoulders, hugging her close.
[Y/N] had been planning for a brief hug—a mere two seconds at most—but Draco feels nice and warm and comforting and she finds herself not wanting to let go. "You smell good," she says, interlacing her hands behind his back.
"Is that so surprising?" She feels the vibrations of Draco's laughter in his chest. Feels his hand climbing up to her hair, holding her head there. "Wish I could say the same for you, though."
[Y/N] scoffs, pulling away to smack him on the shoulder. Draco's hands fall away from her, and he's laughing, but instead of feeling annoyed, [Y/N] just smiles right back at him. "Whatever," she huffs, taking her bag as Draco holds it out to her. Already turning away to head into her classroom, she says, "I'll see you later."
Draco grins, walking backwards, away from her. "Try not to miss me too much."
"I won't," [Y/N] calls back playfully, leaning her back on the door.
Her best friend feigns a look of hurt, then raises a hand in goodbye. He looks dangerously close to stepping over his own robes. "Feel better, yeah?" he shouts, once he's a good few feet away and is beginning to recede into a crowd of students.
[Y/N] doesn't respond. She just quirks her lips up in reply, watching as Draco grins one last time before turning around and disappearing down the hallway.
Exhaling, she steps into the Ancient Runes classroom. Her heart doesn't feel so heavy anymore, and when she plops down into her seat, she isn't frowning. Rather, thoughts of Draco and his scent of green apples and that smile he'd given her all waft around in her head, leaving what feels like butterflies fluttering around inside of her stomach.
It's not that bad of a day, after all.

You laid on your stomach across Ochako Uraraka's bed. Spotify's 'Top One Hundred Pops' playlist could be heard in the background, but your best friend and you didn't care much for Timberlake's voice as you skimmed through magazines together.
You stopped flipping pages and closed your magazine before tossing it next to you on the bed. Your attention was now turned to Ochako who simply stared down at her magazine. You noticed she hadn't really been flipping her pages or really participating in conversation like she usually would.
“Is something bothering you Ochako?”
With a hefty groan, your best friend closed her magazine and tossed it next to her. She had a slight frown on her face as she turned to you. Her eyes were glossy and her smile was gone, she looked and acted nothing like the girl you'd grown to know and call your best friend.
“[Y/N], have you ever been on love?"
A blush spread across your face as you thought of the boy who held your heart. The boy who held your heart, soul, and entire reason for being. Izuku Midoriya, your secret boyfriend, the man who held your affection. Not that you'd ever told him truly how deep your love for him ran.
"Yes, I have."
"There's this guy and I think... I think I'm in love with him.”
“Ochako... If you really think you feel this way about him, then you should tell him.”
You had pulled yourself up from your lying position to a cross-legged sitting position next to Ochako. She sat in front of you with her arms crossed, hugging herself. She looked so troubled. So sad.
“I... I want to, but lately, he's been spending less time with me, and more time with this other girl. I'm worried he might have caught feelings for her."
You reached out and pulled Ochako's hands into yours. You squeezed them as a way of comfort.
“Ochako... If you really feel this way then you should tell him. You should tell him before it's too late.”
“You're right, [Y/N]. Thanks for the advice, you're like the big sister I never had.”
Ochako wrapped her arm around you tightly and pulled away with a smile on her face. A smile you hadn't seen in weeks. She looked more like the Ochako you knew.
“I'm gonna tell Midoriya how I feel!”
Suddenly it was like a weight came down on your chest. Midoriya? Your Midoriya? Love of your life Midoriya? How could you have missed the signs? He was hanging out more with you, less with her. The way she tried so hard to get his attention. How could you have missed the obvious signs?
Suddenly you hated the fact you and Izuku kept your relationship secret. At first, it was so your classmates couldn't make a big deal about it, as time went on with your dad being All Might it just made more sense to help preserve Izuku's secret of being Toshinori's successor, but then the secrecy made it feel more romantic.
"You like Izuku?"
Your heart swelled as Ochako flopped back on the bed with an ever-growing smile.
"How couldn't I? He's sweet and nice. He's caring and he inspires me to be a better hero."
You bit your lip as you thought of what to say to your best friend. What could you say? 'I'm Sorry, I'm already dating him'? How could you hurt her like that when she's been nothing but a friend? How could you hurt her like that when she feels your like a sister to her? You couldn't.
The more you thought of Ochako and your boyfriend the worse your bad thoughts swirled. You'd never amount to great title your father left and the expectations people expected of you. Izuku would grow to fulfill your father's title, he would be a real hero. But what of you? You would grow to be an undercover hero like Eraserhead. But Ochako? She would look great at Izuku's side. She would be someone he could fight with side by side. She would be someone worth being with Izuku.
She would suit Izuku much better than you. They would be perfect together, better than you could be.
"Ochako, I have to go now. I hope it works out for you though!"
Quickly you got up off her bed and grabbed your bag before bolting out the door. Once you were away from your best friend and alone in the halls you slid your phone out of your pocket.
[Y/N]: Izuku... I think we should stop seeing each other. [Sent: 8:17 pm]
You don't even watch the little read sign pop-up. You don't watch Izuku's chat bubbles pop and go away. You just slide your phone back in your pocket and let the tears slide down your face.
Tumblr media
You couldn't help but watch them as they ate lunch together. You were tables away from them, Ochako took this as you giving her and Izuku time to be alone together, really you were giving each other distance from the breakup.
You couldn't help but watch them as they ate lunch together. It had only been a couple of months, but it appeared a lot could happen in three months. As Ochako sat close to Izuku it felt wrong. As Izuku laughed at her jokes you felt sick. As Ochako leaned her head against Izuku you felt utterly disgusted.
Breaking up with Izuku was the worst mistake you ever made, but how could you not? If you hadn't Ochako would've been hurt. It was the worst mistake, but they were so happy and perfect together. They were like two halves of a whole.
They were two halves of a whole yet you couldn't help but stare at them. You couldn't help this jealous feeling from taking over as you hung out with Ochako. You couldn't help this wanting urge that overcame you every time you and Izuku passed in the halls. You couldn't help that he always crossed your mind. You couldn't help that seeing them together crushed your soul.
You couldn't help these feelings, yet you were the one who pushed him away from you and into the arms of your best friend.
Abruptly the chair next to you was pulled out and Katsuki Bakugo plopped his butt down next to you. Compared to yours, his lunch looked like a five-course meal. Of course, watching Izuku with Ochako really took away any appetite you had in you.
"Hi."
You smiled over at the blonde boy. Ever since you stopped sitting with Izuku, Katsuki had been hanging about with you. Contrary to what most of your class would say, Katsuki could be nice. His generosity came in his own rough way, still, he was a true friend to you.
"Stare at that shit-munches any longer and you'll burn a hole on his head."
"I wasn't staring."
Your words tumbled out quickly and fast. You didn't want anybody thinking you were crushing on Ochako's new boyfriend, not when they weren't privy to the information that said new boyfriend was your ex.
"Do you even realize how fuckin' obvious you make it? You're crushing on the damn nerd!"
"Shut up Katsu! You don't understand."
You pushed your lunch away from you and crossed your arms. You felt sick just having this conversation. You felt repulsed, and you knew the food would have a hard time going down.
Katsuki pushed your food back in front of you and crossed his own arms.
"So eat and explain it to me."
'I'm not hungry."
"Don't be fucking stupid. Not eating just because you're upset is gonna make you feel sick."
The sight of Ochako out of the side of your eye all over Izuku hurt and disgusted you. It repulsed and aggravated you. You didn't want to eat, yet, the look on Katsuki's face as he insisted you ate made you feel indifferent.
He cared for you, he was trying to be a good friend. For the sake of Katsuki, you pick up your fork and scoop some food in your mouth.
"I can't really explain it- I and Izuku dated before he and Ochako got together."
"Did the fucker break your heart?"
Despite Katsuki's gruff voice and colorful language, he still spoke quiet and kind towards you. Although, you could detect some disdain for Izuku in his voice.
"No, I ended it... I thought... I thought he could do better."
Katsuki doesn't say anything and you were sure you either upset him by talking about his enemy, or bored him to death by talking about your feelings. That was what you thought until you felt his warm fingers snap against your forehead.
"Ow."
He flicked you right out of nowhere.
"You're a fucking Idiot. If anyone could do better it's you. Deku was lucky he even had you, he never shoulda' let you go."
As the school bell rang Katsuki put his lunch container in his bag and walked away. He didn't head in the direction of class like everyone else. No, he was making a beeline for that shitty nerd, Deku.
The hard truth is you and Katsuki were a lot alike. You were both willing to suffer if it meant the one you truly loved was happy and thriving.
Tumblr media
You sat on your bed, laptop, notebook, and homework books strewn across your lap. It looked messy, but not as messy as the rest of your room. You had dishes on the counter and clothes scattered in piles. It was messy like your life. You had kind of let it go to shit after you broke up with Izuku.
A quick, brisk knock on your door could be heard. You groaned as you pushed your work materials off of you to answer it. You hoped it wasn't your teachers, with such a messy room that would be embarrassing. Mostly you prayed it wasn't Ochako.
You unlatched the hook, twisted the knob and pulled the door open. You didn't know who you expected. Your teachers maybe, perhaps Katsuki. You didn't know who you expected, but you didn't expect to see him.
Izuku, with his messy green hair, looked like a mess. He was out of breath and it looked like his eye was purple and swelling. You wanted to pull him into a hug. You wanted to check out his eye and clean it up. You couldn't, that was Ochakos job.
He wasn't yours. Not anymore.
"Hey... What are you doing here?"
"I've been such an idiot."
You hugged yourself and leaned against the door frame as to not give away how nervous and timid you felt with him being here.
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about us! I should've fought for us and I didn't. I thought you needed space. I tried giving you space but it didn't help. It just pushed us away from each other."
"Zu' it doesn't matter. We're just not right for each other."
Izuku walked closer to you and you hugged yourself tighter. You had to be strong, you had to push him away. You had to, but as he placed his hands on your shoulders you felt your distance fall.
"We are right for each other. We were perfect for each other."
"No, we're not!"
"Yes, we are! Kacchan told me everything. I thought you needed space, what you really needed was reassurance."
You turned around from him and walked further into your dorm. Why couldn't he let this go? He could be so much happier with her.
"You needed reassurance and I didn't give that to you. I didn't fight. I didn't try. I just need you to know that Ochako will never be it for me. She will never be the girl I want to tell all my secrets too. She will never be the girl I think about late at night. She will never be the girl I love. She will never be you."
"She's so pretty, nice, and thoughtful. Why don't you want her? My skills, my looks? Just mediocre. Mineta doesn't even look at me, and he would look at trash if it had a vagina. I'm just All Might's daughter. I'm not special in any other way-"
While Izuku could admit fault for not being there for you, for not noticing how insecure you'd become in your relationship, he would never admit to or apologize for threatening Mineta into never looking at you.
"Don't you dare say that! You have never been All Might's daughter to me. You have always been [Hero Name]. You prove every day that you are more of a hero than anyone here. Your special, brilliant, and beautiful. I'm in love with you."
Izuku pulled you into his arms for the first time in three months. The emotions inside you broke and you allowed yourself to let out everything that had been bothering you. Everything that had been making you insecure.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you, but I'm here now, and I'm never leaving you."
As Izuku held you in his arms it felt right. It wasn't Izuku and Ochako. It was Izuku and you.

(As the three of them leave, Maple puts a finger to her lips and motions for the group to follow her. They make their way to a nearby forested area, and once they're out of earshot Maple breathes a sigh of relief before waving the fan to clear away the smoke around them.)
Maple: Okay. You can talk now that nobody's nearby.
Dochi: What WAS that?
Maple: A spell, obviously. One that made us invisible.
Ube: Man, you think fast. I was like, two seconds away from taking out my sword if that guy took another step towards us!
Vanilla: Fritter? Hey, you okay?
(Fritter clings to her and sniffles, crying while holding her tightly)
Fritter: That was the killer, 'Nilla! He was right THERE! If he'd seen us, he would've...
(The others immediately go to comfort him, putting a hand on him and making a big group hug)
Ube: Hey, it's okay! Look, we're all here and we're fine thanks to Maple. We're not gonna let you and Vanilla get hurt by any bad guys.
Fritter: What about you guys? I don't want you to get hurt, either!
Dochi: We'll be alright. Big brothers and sisters are tougher than most people. It's why we're...you know, BIG brothers and sisters. We're big and strong! (Flexes her arms)
Maple: And we're smart, too. Which is why we're not going to stand around here, in case some of the townspeople come near here. Look, there's an old pathway up that hill that looks like it hasn't been used in a while. Why don't we go up there and try to set up camp on the mountain?
Fritter: Um...okay. (sniffs and wipes his sleeve) That sounds like a good idea.
Vanilla: Ooh, I think I can see a roof up there. Maybe we can spend the night in there instead of sleeping outside.
Dochi: If the path looks like it hasn't been used in a while, then what's up there? If it's an abandoned house, then it'd be easier to stay there without anyone noticing us.
Maple: It might be abandoned for a reason...But it's the best option I can think of. Come on, let's start walking; the more distance we put between that murderer and us, the more comfortable I'll be.
(The five of them climb the winding path up the mountain, and are more quiet after their close encounter with the murderous ronin. Dochi, Maple, and Ube take turns carrying the younger two kids whenever they get tired, and after a while they arrive near the top of the mountain. The building Vanilla saw is now fully visible; it's the crumbling ruins of an old castle. Near where they're walking is a set of gravestones along the path leading to the castle's entrance.)
Fritter: Hey...Hey, hang on a second, we gotta stop walking.
Dochi: You need me to carry you again?
Fritter: No, we have to be good guests. If we're gonna stay at this house when we don't live there, we need to be nice about it.
(Maple seems to realize what Fritter's getting at and nods slightly. She sets Vanilla down and takes a few items out from the knapsack she's carrying, and motions for the others to do the same.)
Maple: For the spirits of the people who used to live here. Fritter's right, we need to leave them a gift as payment for staying in their home uninvited.
Dochi: Ohhh, right. Mom says that you should be kind to your host--even if it's a ghost host!
(The siblings each take out some spare food and place them near the four gravestones. Vanilla tugs on Maple's sleeve and points at her pipe.)
Vanilla: Can I do the flower spell? I wanna give the ghost hosts flowers as my present.
Maple: (smiles) Go ahead. You remember the words?
Vanilla: Yup!
(Vanilla takes the pipe and quietly murmurs to herself as she holds it out in front of the grave stones.)
I summon the boun-ti-ful jewels of spring, bloom here for me and make the earth sing.
(The marks on Vanilla's cheeks glow faintly as smoke billows from the pipe and settles on the ground, thickening and swirling until a handful of seedlings begin to sprout and grow at a rapid pace. After a few seconds, a cluster of flowers bloom and sway gently in the breeze. Maple takes the pipe back and pats Vanilla on the back.)
Maple: Great work, 'Nilla.
Ube: Hey...Maple, Mom's used magic to talk to ghosts before, right? Has she ever taught you to do it?
Maple: A little bit. I mean, she won't let me study necromancy until I'm older, though...I have taken a peek at some of her spellbooks on it. But speaking with spirits is something we've practiced together.
Ube: So could you speak to the people who lived in this castle? That way we can actually ask permission to spend the night.
Maple: Hmm...I guess I could try. I wonder if they could tell us more about Wano's history. It'd be a rare opportunity to learn about it. I mean, there aren't any books about Wano you can just pick up and read.
(She reads the names on each stone before taking the pipe out and blowing a swirling trail of smoke that circles around the graves.)
Echo of life, shadow of death. Kin'emon, Momonosuke, Raizo, Kanjuro...Let your echoes reach us, let your shadows appear to us.
(The smoke continues to circle around the graves, but nothing else happens.)
Fritter: Did you say it right?
Maple: I'm sure I did. Once you say the incantation, you should be able to sense a spirit and then it'll take shape. With the pipe, it should be easy for them take a form we can see with the smoke.
Vanilla: Maybe they don't like smoke. Should we try something else they can use as a shape, like the flowers?
Maple: I...I don't understand, I've done that spell perfectly before. Why isn't it...wait a minute. (She peers intently at the smoke circling around the grave, watching it slowly begin to fade and drift away) I...don't think anyone's been buried here.
Fritter: Maybe they're shy and don't want to talk to strangers?
Maple: No, that can't be it. Even if they didn't want to appear, I used enough power to summon them here. They would have started to take form before leaving if they didn't want to speak to us. I don't think there's anything here to be summoned.
Ube: Then why are there graves here?
Maple: That's a good question.
(As they stare at the graves in confusion, the sound of voices causes them to freeze up. The people approaching sound as if they're coming from the path the kids had taken from the bottom of the mountain by Okobore, and the siblings immediately see their clothes and recognize them as the adults from the town.)
Luffy: Why did you want to come with us to this castle, anyway?
Kiku: I'll explain once our allies have all arrived.
(The adults see the children near the graves, and both groups stare at each other in surprise for a moment. The one in the red robe looks even more familiar to the children, and they wonder if they'd seen him before they had ever come to Wano. The green-haired swordsman is the first to speak up.)
Zoro: Oh, it's those kids from earlier.
(When his gaze lands on Fritter, Ube and Dochi immediately raise their weapons while Maple takes her youngest brother's hand. Vanilla hides behind Maple and grabs Fritter's other hand.)
Ube: Stay back, murderer!
Dochi: Don't take another step towards my siblings, or I'll cut you in half, right along that scar on your chest!
Law: Murderer? I told all of you to keep a low profile!
Luffy: No, Zoro told me that was just a misunderstanding. He didn't kill anyone, he just slashed the guy who framed him and ran off!
Kiku: You really do have a talent for causing a ruckus...
(Vanilla steps out from behind Maple to get a better look at the man in red.)
Maple: 'Nilla! Get back behind me, we don't know who these people are.
Vanilla: But... (she peers at Luffy, and when she recognizes him she beams at him) That's not a stranger! That's Luffy, he's Papa's friend!
Ube: Wait, what? Oh. Ohhhhh, you're right! It is!
Dochi: Holy crap, it is!
Law: You know these kids, Luffy?
Maple: We haven't actually met, but we know OF him. (She relaxes a bit, but is still holding Fritter's hand as she walks up to Luffy and holds out her other hand in greeting) We're Katakuri's children. Um...we first saw you when you ruined Aunt Pudding's wedding and caused our Grandma to have a mental breakdown, but I doubt you noticed us during all of that.
Luffy: Ohhh! I didn't know Katakuri had kids. Huh, you even have his mouth marks. (He shakes Maple's hand.)
Dochi: Also, we don't blame you for all that either! I mean, we were mad at first. But then Papa told us you did it to save Sanji. So wait, are these guys part of your crew too? (She glances at Zoro, Law, and Kiku)
Ube: Oh, whoops. (He smiles sheepishly at Zoro) Sorry for threatening to kill you, mister. We thought you were a crazy killer or something, but if you're with Luffy then you can't be too bad.
Kiku: Wait, what are you all doing here in Wano? And why are you by yourselves?
Vanilla: Oh! Dochi and Ube stole mama's magic scissors and made a portal, 'cause they wanted to meet up with our aunties and uncles and grandma here. But then Maple saw us and tried to take them back, and then the portal ripped, and we all fell through it and now we're here!
Kiku: That...isn't what I expected.
Law: Wait, your grandmother...Big Mom's already in Wano?
Maple: That's--um, confidential. We can't reveal where our family is to another pirate crew. (She looks sternly at Vanilla, who pouts.)
Vanilla: Yeah, but they're friends with Luffy! And Luffy is Papa's friend, so we won't be called traitors if we tell them, right?
Law: We're ALLIES, not friends.
Vanilla: Huh? Aren't those the same thing?
Luffy: Yeah! We're friends, Law.
Law: I don't want to have this conversation again...So. You five are lost in Wano, and nobody in your family knows that you're here.
Dochi: Mama and Papa probably know by now. Papa's got really good Observation Haki, and Mama knows how to use magic, so they should've figured out we're gone and where we are. They'd probably want us to stick with Luffy, since he's Papa's friend; we dunno where our aunts and uncles are, so he's the only grown-up we know that we can trust here.
Ube: OH! Let's be allies! Me and Dochi can fight, Maple's the best of us at magic, 'Nilla is good with healing spells and knows some stuff about medicine, and...um, Fritter's a really good cook! I mean, he's 7, and he's really good for a 7 year old.
Luffy: Hmm...Alright!
Maple: This is NOT going to go over well if our family finds out. Look, if we're really going to be allies, we need you to keep this a secret from them. The only one who wouldn't call us traitors for this are Mama and Papa, and Big Mom would KILL us if she found out we were allies with you of all people. Um, no offense.
Luffy: No problem! I'm pretty good at keeping secrets.
Law: You're joking. Please tell me you're joking.
Kiku: I admit, I normally wouldn't approve of involving children in this. But...we can't just leave them on their own.
Ube: Plus, we wouldn't take no for an answer and we'd just follow you guys anyway. My mom says we're "tenacious to a fault."
Law: You'll fit right in with Luffy, then.
Luffy: Hey, since you guys got here before us, have you seen some of our other friends? A guy named Kin'emon, a kid named Momonosuke...
Maple: (frowns) Wait...you mean...them? (She points to the gravestones.)

Villain
Warnings: cursing, arguing, sympathetic deceit, unhappy ending
Pairings: Platonic Anxceit, platonic LAMP
Genre: Pure Angst
Summary: Virgil creates a villain of his friend.
Taglist: @stardustedsweaterlover @the-magicalpotato @eliz1325
Note: This is the longest fic I've ever written at 1456 words holy fuck.
Deceit paced the commons of the subconscious, twirling a hat around his pale finger. He wore the same outfit he always did; a dark green t-shirt that was a size too big and baggy blue jeans that covered most of his black sneakers.
Anxiety should've been back by now.
Deceit's one and only friend, Anxiety, had recently been spending more and more time with- with them. The "Light" Sides, as they'd been called. Yet no matter how much time he'd been spending, he'd always be back by 6 p.m. on the dot.
It was 6:30.
Where was he?
Deceit was getting increasingly worried. Sure, a few minutes past six would've been odd, but not a cause for concern. A half hour was a different story.
He scratched absently at the scales on his arm and left hand, trying to think rationally about this.
When Anxiety finally returned, he was snickering slightly with a wide grin on his face, a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie in hand.
Deceit stopped in his tracks.
"Anxiety!" He exclaimed, shoulders slumping in relief. The dark side in question looked up from the cookie in hand, eyes landing on the shorter one.
"Hey Dee, what's up?" He smiled and Deceit allowed himself to relax further, moving forward and  hugging Anxiety's torso tightly.
"I was scared." Deceit whispered. He had a bad habit of saying the truth and only the truth, whether it was a good idea or not. Lying made him uncomfortable and feel sick to his stomach.
"What? Why?" Anxiety moved away from the hug with a concerned look.
"You were gone for way longer than usual! 30 minutes, Anx!" Deceit exclaimed. Anxiety rolled his eyes slightly.
"30 minutes isn't that long. I was-"
"-with the light sides." Deceit interrupted, frowning and moving away. "Like always. You spend way too much time with them, Anx."
"You're not my mom or dad, Dee,"  Anxiety scowled, "you can't control where I go, who I'm with, or how much time I spend with them." He was getting fed up with Deceit's constant questioning of where he was and how long he'd be there.
"I know, but you never spend time with me anymore." Deceit frowned. He was trying not to seem selfish, clingy or possessive, but Anxiety was his only friend.
"Yeah, I do. Stop smothering me. I like hanging out with the light sides." Anxiety defended, raising his voice a little.
"Then why don't you just go hang out with the light sides 24/7?" Deceit scowled, also raising his voice. Anxiety was full on glaring down at Deceit, gaze cold. Over the past few weeks, their friendship has been strained, but Deceit never expected what happened in the next few moments to transpire before of that.
"You know what? Maybe I will. They can't be any worse than you." Anxiety spat, turning on his heel. Deceit's mismatched eyes widened and he grabbed the other side's wrist.
"A-Anxiety, wait..." the scaly side stuttered. "They think we're villains, remember? They'll never accept you!" he wasn't sneering it. Instead, it seemed to come out rushed and frantically, as if he were terrified.
"You're right. But at least most villains don't naturally look the part." Anxiety spat, pulling his arm away and stalking off angrily.
"A-Anx..." Deceit pulled his hand away and held it, scratching lightly at the patch of scales there as Anxiety left The Subconscious.
He stood there for a moment, then slowly turned and sulked to his small room.
| • | • | • | • |
Five years.
Deceit waited five fucking years.
But Anxiety hadn't come back, no, not even stopped by.
So Deceit decided he'd have to come to him.
Ditching his usual outfit, Deceit recalled the last few words they'd said to each other.
If Virgil thought he looked like a villain then...well, he was in for a surprise.
Deceit grinned, showing off the fangs that had grown over the years.
Deception Sanders stepped out of The Subconscious. A small gasp was pulled from him at the immediate warmth, a significant difference from the cold, darkness of The Subconscious. He shrugged it off and fixing his gloves.
Deceit messed with his cape as he confidently strolled into the light side commons, where Creativity and Morality were watching Steven Universe on the floor. Logic was on the couch reading a book next to-
Deceit's breath silently caught in his throat for a moment.
Anxiety was sitting next to them all, playing on his phone. Instead of his plain black outfit, he had a much more colorful one. Shades of purple and even some gray decorated the black hoodie. Along with his change of color scheme, Anxiety looked so much more relaxed and...happy than he had in The Subconscious.
All the "light" sides looked up at the click of heeled shoes on the floor and Anxiety nearly dropped his phone. Creativity stood immediately, drawing his Katana and pointing it at Deceit.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" he demanded. Deceit merely smiled coyly, arms behind his back.
"Dee..." Anxiety whispered. Deceit narrowed his eyes.
"I'm not sorry to disappoint, but that is very correct, Anxiety." Deceit took his hat off and gave a bow, his cold gaze never wavering. "I am not Deceit." Creativity looked confused. He lowered his sword slightly, looking over at Anxiety.
"Virgil? You know this...this person?" Deceit clenched his fists as he stood up straight, putting his hat back on. Virgil? Was that what he called himself now?
"Well... I'm not so sure." Anxiety admitted, frowning over at Deceit. Deceit smiled dryly.
"Aw, I'm not hurt. You told them about me, Anx?" he asked mockingly, despite the sting he felt at that realization. Anxiety seemed uncomfortable.
Good.
Deceit's old friend looked away. The snake faced side narrowed his eyes.
"What's wrong, Virgil?" The name tasted foreign and bittersweet on his tongue, but Deceit ignored it the same way he ignored the sickening feeling he got every time he lied. "Not like what you found? You look comfortable."
"Kiddos, how about we all calm down?" Morality spoke nervously as Creativity raised the sword again, pressing the sharp tip against Deceit's chest.
"I agree with Patton," Logic nodded, "we should all calm down and talk things out. Roman, put the sword down."
Ugh. They all had names.
What? No, Deceit wasn't jealous.
"But- Logan!"  Creativity exclaimed, pushing the sword harder against his chest. Deceit fought back a wince, instead snarling at the side.
"L, Pat, I know this guy." Anxiety squinted at Deceit. "Princey, get him out of here." he ordered. Deceit felt anger bubble in his chest but ignored it.
"Now, kiddo-" Morality tried, but Deceit dismissively waved his hand. Instantly, Morality unwillingly slapped a hand over his mouth. Anxiety's eyes went wide, along with the others.
Deceit grinned. Of course even Anxiety would be surprised by that, he had never been able to do that before. Morality was panicking, trying to speak.
"Now that I don't have your attention again, I wouldn't like to let you know that I," Deceit sweeped his mismatched eyes over the four light sides, "that I will not leave of my own accord."
"Okay..." Anxiety said quietly, eyes never leaving Deceit's hands. The dark side smirked.
"If you'd ever like to hear Morality speak again, I suggest not putting the Katana down." Deceit threatened coldly. Creativity hesitated.
"...fine." he gave in, lowering and sheathing the sword. "Now, let him speak, you fiend." Deceit's grin was dangerous and he was pretty sure his yellow eye was glowing.
"Well, I will not see you all again soon," Deceit announced as he pressed his fingertips together, "especially not you, Anxiety."
"Hey-" Creativity started but Logic quieted him. Anxiety just glowered at the lying side.
"Farewell." Deceit said finally. With that, he turned on his heel, cape flaring up behind him, and strolled back to The Subconscious. Halfway down the hall, he waved his hand so Morality would be able to speak.
He paused, looking at a door that appeared next to him in the hall. It was gray with a 'D' on it, so Deceit assumed that it was his. Keeping up his confident facade even though no one was watching, he opened the door and walked inside like he owned the place.
Deceit shut the door behind him, letting his shoulders slump and his smooth act to crumble. He closed his eyes, choosing to ignore the sounds of jokes and laughter coming from the commons nearby. Then, he opened them again and his expression hardened.
If Anxiety was going to act like he did nothing wrong, like he was a hero, like Deceit was the problem...
Well, every hero needed a villain.

I 100% agree with you I don't trust Iain at all or anything he promises. I honestly am feeling numb and hollow about the 2nd wedding I have no excitement for it instead I'm like why would I want them to get married they're a mess. For me the magic has changed I do feel differently about them. The first wedding was so rushed they have no excuse they should've waited Iain is just waving a shiny toy in front of fans to keep them onside the fans are so divided it's just gonna get worse
At the time, it did strike me (and a lot of others) that a second wedding promise was a “calming down” measure towards fans. I do not get upset about anything Iain says any more. It is pointless because you don’t know either a) if he’s lying, or b) his version of events is what they actually show on screen. Yes, obviously he has to keep certain things quiet as that’s a main part of his job and I’m not criticizing that, but he has absolutely used the fandom side of things. And I think he expected us to all be here no matter what he did.
I don’t think the magic has gone. Yes, it’s in a bad place right now, but my worst Robron days (at present) were when Aaron was being lied to. That just drove me insane, because cheating one night is a mistake. Robert lying to him over weeks is an active choice Robert keeps making, and THAT is what drove me up the wall. Aaron and Robert started as an affair, for them both. Aaron knows what sex is like when it’s just scratching the itch, and I always thought Aaron could forgive him for one occasion. Aaron’s not innocent, we know on screen that he’s had one night stands, he knows sex isn’t just about desire and want. But it was the lying that drove me mad.
I actually think sleeping with Rebecca was in character for Robert (ignoring the consent issue here for the time being because ED clearly are). I’m thinking about his character way before Ryan played him, but Robert has always had an interesting relationship with sex. He has always used that to try and make himself feel better and he always lashes out when he’s hurting and or out of control. So while I was furious and hurt at the direction it took, I could understand it.
What I found completely out of character for the incident was Rebecca. I do not believe any woman would say “I’m never going there again” then five minutes later taking her knickers off for him. I don’t believe how many contradictions they’ve stuck into her character and backstory to attempt to get her to work as a character (and by and large it’s still failing). I feel her character has been sacrificed the most in this.
Another thing I can’t believe, Rebecca would have been on birth control. She’s a grown woman, rich, in her thirties engaging in casual sex, she would have been protected. And even if she wasn’t, I can’t wrap my head around Robert having unprotected sex with her either. We know how much of a complete control freak he is, and how Robert starts breaking down when things spin out of his grasp. It’s canon. When he can’t manipulate the situation he loses rationality, and everything leading up to “the incident” had Robert losing control of everything in his life. And he’d take a risk like that? To be out of his control like that? I don’t believe it. Too much in this story is about suspending your belief, and it makes the story feel a little unreal.
And that’s before you even wonder about due dates, DNA testing, no medical professionals, consent and everything else that’s vaguely questionable here.
