Today is the 13th of May, which means that the Face Equality Week has just started. This year's theme is “My Face is a Masterpiece” which is probably my favorite sentence ever said about having a facial difference. Huge fan, should be used way more often in my opinion.

Because of this occasion, I would like to share some thoughts about Face Equality that I think are rather entry-level, i.e. you don't need to know much to execute these, but you can still support us.

Stop the stare.

I know it's fun to stare - or so I guess, at least - but maybe you shouldn't. Next time you see someone who has a scar or who's face does not move the same way as yours, just mind your business. We can tell when you're “discreetly” looking.

Don't call us deformed.

Knowing how the people you're trying to support actually call themselves should be an absolute first step, but most people still fail here. Most of us don't appreciate being called “deformed”. I certainly don't. Say “facial difference”, or “disfigurement” if you must. It's 2024. Leave “deformed” to medical reports from the 70s.

No more “What happened?!”s.

If you aren't a doctor, there's a high-to-100% chance that it's none of your business. It's cool that you're curious - keep it to yourself.

Stop insinuating that we are ugly.

“Support people who are ugly!” isn't very supportive. I would say, not in the slightest. Say “people who don't fit the current beauty standards” if that's what you mean.

Or, to go with this year's theme, “people whose faces are masterpieces” : )

Use critical thinking online.

Is the reaction photo actually funny, or is it just a person with a craniofacial condition? Is the meme actually a meme, or is it just making fun of a person with a facial disfigurement? Is body-shaming suddenly hilarious to you when the person shamed has strabismus?

If the entire punchline is “lol they have a disability xd”, it's ableism. Plain and simple.

To go with the point above - your joke is probably not funny.

We get it! You can't help telling us how "you're going to hell for laughing" (which yeah, probably) and how we remind you of the ugliest character you have ever seen. I guarantee you that we heard it, and that you are behaving like an edgy middle schooler who hasn't "found out" yet. It's boring and annoying. Also ableist, but you're aware of that already if you're saying that you're going to hell.

Stop with the goddamn trigger warnings.

We aren't “body horror”, we aren't “gore”, we aren't something that you need to advise your viewers to use their discretion over. Every “graphic footage: child with neurofibromatosis” and “#tw burn scar” is a sign of ableism and disfiguremisia. People with facial differences deserve to be seen. Ableds can survive seeing a person without a nose.

Do a basic reading on what disfiguremisia is.

New word! And a pretty damn important one. It's a brand of ableism that intersects with more or less everything, and it means discrimination and hatred of people with facial differences/disfigurements. The bullying, harassment, endless name-calling, and microaggressions are all results of disfiguremisia. The ways in which everything is harder for us isn't some unchangeable rule of how the world works, it's just an extremely prevalent type of discrimination.

Understand that we are people.

I know, revolutionary - and yet impossible for so many people to get. We can be a visual representation of evil when it's necessary, we can be a feel-good inspirational story on a morning talk-show, but not much else, it seems. In reality, we are complex, we have our own lives, we can be happy and sad and have the same exact joys and worries that you have.

Hey, artists - facial differences don't make you evil.

Title stolen from a great essay by Lise Deguire (link). When's the last time you saw a positive character with a facial difference that wasn't inspiration porn? I mean a character that's not edgy, full of angst, a murderer, or a villain. Based on what you see in the media, you'd think that having a scar renders you evil on the spot, but in reality it just makes you loathe how artists apparently think you are like. It's boring, it's overdone, it's ableism. Stop doing this, and start noticing when it's being done. Point it out if your friend is writing their new villain to be an evil burn survivor. This kind of portrayal needed to stop ages ago, but tomorrow will be a great time as well.

Before you reply with “I've never seen this” - Darth Vader, Lion King’s Scar (subtle name, great thing to teach kids!), Freddy Krueger, Voldemort, we could be here forever. You're just not paying attention.

Pay attention to where we are not included.

As discussed, there are some places where you see us all the time. But where do you not see us?

Advertisements (unless it's for a scar-removal cream, of course). Fashion shows. Magazine covers. Romance movies where we are the main character.

We deserve to see ourselves in what's around us in the same way able-bodied people do. Trying to make it seem like we don't exist - that's deliberate.

Interact with our art.

We draw, write, sing, act in movies, we do everything! Support us in the most tangible way - leave us a nice comment, read our books, listen to our songs. Watch movies where actual people with facial differences star, not pseudoinspirational stories about how “being disfigured is ok” where they shove an able-bodied actor into a full face prosthetic just to not have an actor with a disfigurement on set.

Include us.

As this year's Face Equality Week calls for, include us. In art, in movies, in books, in your life. Show us as positive people who are valuable, who are a part of your community - I guarantee that we are in every one that's out there. The world is hostile and unwelcoming to people with facial differences - be the change, wherever you are!

I know that it is different from the usual posts I make, but I hope it was somewhat educational. I just like to use every occasion that I can to force Face Equality into people's heads. To make this at least a bit about writing to keep the blog's theme, I will say that if you want to write about us, you need to care about us in real life as well. Otherwise, it's shallow and pointless.

Hi!! I sorta get the vibe that maybe Rook has some deep rooted trauma from his childhood?? Just because of how secretive he is; i know hes eccentric but i feel like it’s more than that. A lot of ppl are upset at Vil for “changing” Rook somehow but i feel like rook changed his appearance to match with Vil, moved to pomefiore, etc. because HE wanted to be more like Vil, i feel like him meeting Vil was a rly big turning point for him. And with how upset he was at having to hurt dream Vil and Neige (and his fanboy bedroom😭😭) i feel like he’s really dependent on both of them for his happiness and he’s avoiding dealing with some traumatic experience, but this could be a stretch. I was wondering what your thoughts were. Sorry this was so long, have a nice night!!🫶

Mmm, maybe? There's certainly nothing to disprove the idea, although there also isn't much to support it. Rook doesn't strike me as someone who is scared or put off by most things. He was very much able to keep his calm and composure even in demanding, high-stress situations like the STYX base raid in book 6 and the rescue operation in Endless Halloween Night. If he has experienced something dangerous and/or dark, he gives me the impression that he could handle himself just fine. (This isn't to downplay trauma; I'm just saying that Rook could very well be the type of person that reacts and copes well with it.) As for him being secretive, it could be for other reasons such as his family's line of work (which is implied to be pretty important, since they have warp pads and villas all over Twisted Wonderland). This would be reasoning similar to why Jade and Floyd's father's occupation is kept dubious. Rook's secretive nature could also be an intentional diversion (ie purposefully playing "the fool") so it's easier for his targets to lower their guards around him or not take him seriously. Really, there's many reasons for his enigmatic and eccentric attitude. I'm also of the opinion that you don't necessarily need to have a deep-rooted trauma to get deep into fandom or stan culture. Sometimes you just get really into something and want to dedicate your entire being to that which holds your attention! For Rook, that's Neige and Vil--and it hurts him on a deep level to have to harm those who have brought him so much joy. I liken it to like... how TWST fans have merch shrines dedicated to their favorite boys. Non-Twsties may not understand our love and dedication to these characters, nor why we may get upset if those merch shrines are destroyed or damaged.

I think a lot of Rook's emotional attachment to Neige and Vil doesn't come from "relying" on them to fill in some void within himself. Rather, the behavior stems from him literally viewing them as pinnacles of beauty, combined with his own reverence for beauty itself and how they've helped his own character development. We know that, as a child, Rook struggled to express himself and was first introduced to the magic of the arts when he watched a play that starred Neige. The performance and show must have deeply resonated with Rook. Later on, we see that he, as a first year Savanaclaw student, acts much closer to the Rook we know of today. Invasive, bright, speaking his mind in a verbose way, etc. This makes me think that it was through stanning Neige that Rook was motivated to express himself in a more open manner. Then, when Rook meets Vil, he's inspired and encouraged to beautify himself so as to be like the works of art he already admires. As you've said, Vil isn't the one forcing change on Rook; instead, Vil gives the suggestion and Rook becomes enraptured with the idea--to the point where he changes dorms against Vil's advice. This is another huge turning point in Rook's life. He changes dorms, becomes Vil's right-hand man, and drastically changes his appearance too. This is all so he can be closer to the "beauty" he wishes to see, so he can fully dedicate himself to that chase. Neige was the impetus that started it all, and Vil is the one who motivated Rook to go "above and beyond" in his pursuit of beauty. So thinking about it, Rook has gone on his own journey of personal growth, and Neige and Vil are both closely tied to that. It's like how some of us TWST fans have been with the game for a few years now. We've grown and changed, and TWST has been with us every step of the way. I bet you're a totally different person today than you were when you first came across your current hyperfixations. That's bound to deepen the emotional connection we already have with the object of our affections--be it TWST for us, or Neige and Vil for Rook, no trauma necessary. From all of that, I get the impression that Rook cherishes Neige and Vil because he has "grown up" with them and they're so pivotal to who he is and has become as a person. When he has to turn his arrow on them, it may hurt him in the sense that he's destroying his passions or the very figures who have inspired him to come as far as he has. That's how I interpret it!

I still think it's fine to headcanon whatever you want for Rook's past though! There's no harm in filling in the gaps with whatever you think suits the character or the story.

I think there might be a miscommunication happening here -- the pseudoscience isn't the assertion that synaptic development continues into adulthood, it's the assertion that synaptic development defines adulthood.

I have now read this whole article and the only assertion that it makes that's relevant to this discussion is that synaptic development continues "into the 3rd decade of life". this doesn't -- at least in my opinion -- give any meaningful credence to the idea that the brain isn't fully 'mature' until this point, bc this idea relies on the assumption that 'maturity' is a static biochemical state that the brain organically reaches and not a complex interplay of life experience, societal conceptions of 'maturity' and 'adulthood', and individual variations in development/cognition in addition to the broader process of brain development. additionally, 'brain development' is far more complicated than just the synapses of the prefrontal cortex finishing development, and is a process that continues throughout one's life.

continuing the previous thought: if we're measuring maturity strictly by brain development, then things get extremely dicey, because the brain continues changing beyond your twenties and throughout adulthood! consider this study, which finds that the age of peak performance for different cognitive abilities varies widely, with some peaking around 20 and others closer to 50. the brain doesn't reach a state of 'maturity' in its cognitive functions at age 25 that it then maintains consistently through adulthood, it's far more complicated than that.

essentially, while synapses in the prefrontal cortex keep developing into your 20s (curious as to where you got 'mid to late twenties' from as well; the study only references 'the third decade of life', which could mean anything from 20 to 30), the idea that this development means anything particularly concrete about maturity or adulthood is based on (imo) a faulty and oversimplified understanding of both the brain and what 'maturity' actually means in the context of society. if your conception of 'maturity' asserts that adulthood begins in the late twenties, this conception may be due for a serious reevaluation.

and the reason I'm concerned about all this isn't because I'm a pedant -- it's because this matters in our current political climate. conservative politicians in the UK are currently trying to raise the legal age at which one can transition to 25 based on exactly this faulty conception of maturity, which argues that trans people can't make 'adult' decisions about their own bodies until this point. this is wildly infantilizing and patronizing, and I imagine I don't have to explain why it's a problem, but to elaborate: adulthood and maturity aren't apolitical concepts, and the assertion that adults don't have the right to bodily autonomy because they have been deemed medically incompetent by a truly arbitrary metric is an act of political violence.

I highly recommend this slate article: it goes into this topic in a lot more depth than I do, and features commentary from a lot of neuroscientists who know a lot more about this than me.

You and Jake sit in a fancy but calm, Italian restaurant of his choice. You loved Italian food so this was quite the enjoyment. The two of you have already finished your main meals and were finishing off some desserts. You ordered their famous ice-cream donuts while Jake ordered some cheesecake.

He was quite fine dressed. The only times you've ever seen him was in his flight suit, beach shorts or naked. His hair was neatly put, it was slightly gelled and just put to stick in place. He was wearing a clean and rather fancy polo shirt. It was clean and milky white and just fitted right upon him. He wore a pair of light blue casual jeans. They fit him right and shower off his muscles and legs.

You on the other hand were dressed fancy as well. You wore a beige sundress that was coated with flowers at the edge of the bottom and from the waist, upwards to your chest. Your hair was put in a cute, loose bun with your front strands being free.

The two of you have talked for what seemed to be a lifetime. At the start when you met Jake you believed it'd be a one time thing but now, clearly it is not like that anymore. You guys went full, weekly hookup mode and now you were out on a date together.

"You look so beautiful, chick," he whispers into your ear as he takes a free strand of your hair and puts it behind your ear. "And you look rather Handsome, Jake," you say back as the eye contact never breaks as you both sit there. "Still no nickname," he laughs as you were aiming to make you one up.

You lean in closer to him whispering directly in his ear so nobody else could hear, "Actually I have made something up but for now those are mostly suitable in bed." He looks up at you as you say that and he smirks his fancy and usually smirks and whispers to you, "Why is that simple idea making me go hard."

You look at him in awe, inside your jumping up and down and giggling like a teenager but here you have to keep at least the smallest amount of composure. You stare into those beautiful green eyes and lightly lick your lipsticked lips. "You planning on taking me home on the first date, Jake?" He rather laughs at that and leans in to answer you, "Oh come on chick, I've made you cum more than fifty times before this date. It's nothing new."

You blush all up even though it was only you that heard him you felt a small bit like a teenager about to rush home. You never felt this before with a guy and you call over the waiter almost immediately. "I think we're ready for the bill."

As the night air cooled around them, Jake and Anna walked out of the cozy Italian restaurant, their laughter lingering like the taste of the tiramisu they'd shared. The date had been a success—the conversation flowed effortlessly, and sparks danced in the air between them.

As they reached Anna's building, Jake pulled the car to a stop outside. He turned off the engine but made no move to get out, reluctant to bring the evening to an end.

Anna turned to him, a shy smile playing on her lips. "Thank you for the ride home," she said softly.

Jake reached out, his hand finding hers on the center console. "It was my pleasure," he replied, his voice husky with emotion. "I had a wonderful time tonight."

Their eyes locked, and in that moment, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in their own private universe. Without a word, Jake leaned in closer, his lips meeting Anna's in a tender kiss that spoke volumes of the connection they shared.

Some 9-1-1 thoughts I need to get down.

I know Buddie shippers are relentlessly positive that their ship will be canon one day and I respect it. But I have been active in fandom since I was 13 (almost late 20s now) and I’ve never seen a fandom be so obnoxious about it?? Every tweet is “when buddie becomes canon” “they’re clearly making buddie canon” “it’s not if it’s when” and it’s so incredibly off putting.

All media is up for interpretation, and they’re choosing to interpret any moments no matter how small as “Buck and Eddie are in love with each other” and I’m not going to ick their yum but… that’s their interpretation. And when you get people saying “actually ive never shipped this and always thought they were just friends and it’s a meaningful story to me still” and buddie shippers (BoBs mostly) scream at them that they’re wrong it’s just… too much. Because clearly this interpretation exists, and telling people they’re wrong is just incorrect.

This isn’t even about bucktommy at this point, it’s just about people wearing buddie goggles and refusing to hear what other people are saying and assuming their word is law because the “majority” of the fandom ships something… online… where they’ve placed themselves surrounded by other people who share the same viewpoint and block or do not engage with anyone who shares an opposing opinion.

Buddie may never become canon, and no one should be watching the show assuming that they do because all they’re doing is disappointing themselves and queerbaiting themselves and accusing the network of ship baiting them when Buck and Eddie are friends and they should be allowed to interact and be shown to interact without the screaming that buddie shippers were tricked into viewing.

And while I’m here I just wanna say the “we have platonic male friendships they aren’t special, making them canon would be way more important” argument I keep seeing is not the right take in my opinion. They aren’t just two dudes being bros. Buck is coparenting eddies literal child. I don’t know about y’all but I’ve never seen that dynamic ever? Platonic male friendships may not be “special” to some people but they’re important to show and this particular friendship goes deeper than nights playing games and drinking beer and chatting about women. They’re two men, who even in romantic relationships, have each others backs. They don’t bail last minute on each other for their partners, and Buck is still a present person in Christopher’s life. It’s just wild that some people think this complex but beautiful and meaningful relationship that currently exists on screen is not enough.

This is incoherent at best because many thoughts and not enough time in the world. Might get someone yelling at me over this but who knows.

Okay, I have something to say.

I'm not going to speak on the whole damien thing because I dont at all have enough context (I'm not on twitter) but I will say that you should always stand with and amplify Palestinian voices where possible, regardless of the meat and potatoes of the situation.

Onto what I want to talk about, Smosh donated $15,000 to Creators for Palestine. I've seen people question why they've done this. Is it a PR thing? Is Shayne, Courtney and Ian promoting Creators for Palestine (as well as Angela, Amanda and Tommy reposting from what I have seen) simply a way to claw back after Damien called into validity the extent of his own allyship? What is it all for?

To this I ask:

Does it matter?

People are failing to look at the bigger picture here. Smosh donated a significant amount of money to a Pro-Palestinian Charity. The essential Faces of Modern Smosh have all used their platforms as a call for help. Regardless of their motivations, Palestinian people are now going to be receiving support they otherwise may not have to the same extent If this had not come to be.

In my opinion, you can spend your time ruminating about the reason for this sudden burst in support once Palestine is free. And until that moment, you must understand that any support is good support. Dont waste your time wondering why and instead focus on the fact that over 400k has been raised to aid Palestinians in the face of this genocide by Creators for Palestine, and that is an awesome thing.

If you truly think that Smosh doesn't care, and that they are simply doing this off the back of the criticism they've recieved since October regarding N*ah, and Damien's recent Twitter interactions, then fine, think that. We never actually know what is going on internally, but regardless, they're giving money to Palestinian charities and their loudest voices are now advocating. That's a good thing. We can wish all we want for it to have happened sooner, but it's happening now.

Remember to always Stand with and Amplify Palestinian voices where possible. Palestine will be free!! 🍉🇵🇸🍉🇵🇸🍉

🔏 Tom here. First, I'm going to say that I am only one data point. I am a fit, healthy guy with an average sized penis. We have been at this for something like 25 years, and I do not have any medical or health issues as a result.

That said, I am very health conscious, and am educated in how my body operates. I wear cages that I determine to fit appropriately. The cages are snug to prevent erections, but not so snug they crimp or cramp anything. The cuff ring likewise is snug, but not cutting off circulation. I do not insert anything into my urethra. Every morning I put a dab of lotion on a cotton swab and smear it around inside the cage, then wash it out at night in a shower.

Over the years I have seen reports from guys who claim to have damaged themselves wearing a cage. Unfortunately, there's no way to determine if they just really did something negligent, or if their anatomy really just isn't suited for this. I tend to think the former, but because of the wide variety of men's anatomy, I refrain from comment.

I do, however, have some opinions. The micro nub and flat cages (and now the new "innie" cages) are not suitable for continuous, long term wear. They force your body tissue to bunch up. At the very least, this causes folds and pockets in the skin that can't easily be cleaned without frequently removing the device. At worst, I think there's a risk of kinking the inner erectile tissue, causing mis-shaped erections.

And while some guys use catheter style cages, I think that there's more of a risk for bacteria to wander into the pipes, causing bladder or UTI infections.

Some of the metal cages have a tip that is nearly impossible to line up for urination, which is guaranteed to make urine splash back into the tube, leaving it against the skin. That's a possibility for irritation.

Some of the metal cages have bad welds, or seams that allow gunk to build up. Even regular cleaning may not be enough, and they need to be regularly removed for a good soak in boiling water and disinfectant.

Some of the plastic cages have "pores" in the surface that may harbor skin oils and bacteria, leading to a funky smell. Again, those cages need to be removed more often for a good cleaning.

All this is probably more than you wanted to hear, but you asked for it. I do not think that being locked is inherently dangerous - the millions of devices sold in the past couple of decades attests to that - but like anything else, one needs to pay attention to playing safely.

I've been watching Police Bodycam videos, and they were mostly about police arresting narcissistic and super toxic ex-partners; as well as videos of children defending themselves from abusive narcissistic parents, and there I asked myself: "If narcissistic people are very controlling and manipulative, and a yandere also seeks to have control in his senpai's life, why not combine both concepts?" and so I made these headcanons.

Warning: This section contains topics such as toxic relationships, manipulation, emotional and psychological blackmail and everything that may be characteristics of a narcissistic personality. Remember that these behaviors should not be carried out in real life under ANY circumstances, as it also carries themes of murder, kidnapping and obviously abuse and controlling behaviors.

If for any reason you feel stressed when reading the behaviors reported here due to past experiences, you can simply stop reading. I'm also not trying to romanticize either yanderes or narcissists since they are not people you would want to deal with.

Now, let's get started!

Narcissists are VERY manipulative and toxic people. You can almost say that they are similar to yanderes; They have a "kind" side that they show to everyone (including their senpai/partner), but behind closed doors they are psychopathic or sociopathic monsters.

They study you from top to bottom, and EVERYTHING about you.

They are VERY controlling and possessive. They want to control and possess everything about you, as well as manipulate you at will, as well as use all kinds of tactics in their favor.

They will gradually isolate you from your family and friends, either physically or via phone and internet. He would monitor ALL of them, as well as all your daily activities 24/7, and if he sees you talking to someone, he will then ask: --Can I know what you were doing with X?; Why were you hanging out with X? Do you not love me anymore? -- and things like that.

If they are not in a relationship with you, then they will manipulate you in a thousand ways until they get it; It doesn't matter what they do or did in the past with their previous partner, with family and even their own friends; They will do ANYTHING to make you accept them.

They would try to feel sorry and pity in your presence.

Whether he was your partner or not, he would criticize your tastes or at least those that do not relate to giving him/her attention.

Normally narcissistic people are people hungry for control and power because they feel powerful having control over their victims, since they are very insecure and feel inferior or intimidated when they do not have power over you and… your life. In general, since by losing control over yourself they feel that they are losing you or that you are moving away from them.

They would try to have a social mask when in public or in front of you.

They would also try to gain the trust of your loved ones, and consequently, manipulate them for their benefit.

Can a narcissistic yandere kill for you? Yes, he can, but it depends on his level of sanity/insanity and his hunger for control over you. Although they will mostly use psychological and emotional manipulation against you and everyone around you.

It could be the case that he/she does not care what you think because the narcissist thinks that only his/her opinions are the ones that matter, but it is also the case that he/she will directly or indirectly care A LOT about what you say about him/her, because as I said before, a narcissistic yandere NEEDS AND WANTS you to flatter them, give them compliments and only think about them because they are insecure controllers (to the extreme).

If you agree with him/she at 90% (for putting a random percentage), let me tell you that 10% will make this kind of Yandere denigrate you, just for not being 10% agree with him/her.

Can they be unfaithful? yes of course. Maybe not all but the vast majority; Only to highlight your power over you with the excuse of: --I can do this because I want and because I am superior to you, and how I have control over you, you must endure it because you are a lower garbage without me-- and excuses of that style .

They would try to blackmail you with everything; With self -harm and suicide, with the custody of your children (if they have), your pets, family, your work, school/university and hobbies, friends and even with neighbors or your belongings.

If you argue with him/she, you should call a relative/friend, the police or do everything possible to defend yourself, since it is very likely that a narcissistic already will be violent once you discover your manipulative social mask or want to leave.

In the event that you have a Narcissist boyfriend Yandere to the one you want to leave, he will blackmail you, "praying" with returning and trying to convince you that he will change (something that will not happen); Then he will feel terror of losing control over you, to the point of using or mentioning delicate or important things for you; He will "warn you" of your "consequences" by leaving him; He will tell you that he cannot live without you, that you have the power to save him or that they are nothing without you; Then he will threaten you to hurt, harass, kidnap, rape or kill you and your relatives. It can fulfill them, depending on what Yandere suits you to have you.

They will minimize your problems about yours, or at least make your problems and solutions around him/her.

After manipulating you, blackmail, abuse you as possible would hug you, kiss you with love and tell you: --I love you Senpai, I do this for your good-- but this really means: "This is love. Me having control over you? this is love. I have abused you mentally because I love you in such a twisted way in which I only am interested in having power over you, without accepting a no for response".

When you try to leave them, they would say --I'm sorry?-- What does it really mean: "What the fuck are you telling me?, i didn't hear you".

They would be powerful stalkers. They will follow you and your loved ones everywhere. I would do it on the Internet and call you all the time both and your loved ones, new partner, your family, and even call your work and places of study.

If you are talking to the police, they will "kindly" close to your side and put your hand on your shoulder, or would not let you speak. This is a dirty tactic that they would use to ask you indirectly: "Hey Senpai, what are you going to tell them?; What will you say? Tell me; what are you going to talk to them and why can't you talk to me inside our home? ;I want to know what you are going to tell them to be able to manipulate it to my convenience ".

Yes, they are able to kidnap you.

They would hate to see how you progress in your life, forgetting them and their control over you.

If you have hurt you and you are traumatized, they would put your hand on you smoothly and if you react, they would tell you: --Oh, don't be a crybaby, i'm just touching you-- But in reality they know perfectly what they have done about you.

When you confront them without fear, they can feel intimidated because they feel they lose the control over you.

They would try to manipulate even how you feel with respect to them.

Why do Yumalia haters or just haters in general have to make their hate public? 🤔

I guess misery really does need company.

This morning I saw a post on twitter of someone asking how people felt about Yumalia. 🙄

As soon as I saw the post I knew it was from a person who does not like Yumalia. How did I know this? Because no one who likes the ship asks this!

The girls who get it, get it. 💅💙💚

I was just gonna mute this person so that I never have to see them on my For You page ever again. But I was curious and clicked.

Sure enough.

I was right. 🙄 just someone wanting to talk about how they don’t like Yumalia with people who also don’t like Yumalia.

What gagged me is that they said Yugo should end up with someone better. I didn’t respond because it is their opinion and are entitled to it. If they said “Someone else” I can respect that as a valid opinion. But “someone better?” Bruh…Why do you hate Amalia so much?

It does make me wish that Ankama developed Amalia and their relationship better so that the girls who don’t get can get it. But that’s okay… Those of us who do get it are on another level! LMAO

Also many people do judge Amalia from s1 and s2 when she was a kid. OVA and S3 she was better (though she did have hiccups. Yugo did too, in my opinion). But in s4 she shined. I guess those first two seasons left the biggest impression on people 😩.

Wakfu is a shonen (technically). It may not be Japanese but it did kinda suffer the “not well developed romance” that Japanese shonen have. Dally and Eva were okay but there could’ve been more built there. I feel like Ankama likes to make their romance more subtle. You’d have to look and think about it.

I’m hoping that this manga does develop the Yumalia relationship. I hope it gives us everything we need to overfill our Yumalia chalice. They got time this time. And no restraints like TV studios or lack of budgets holding them back (hopefully).

Anyway, I did end up removing them from my For You feed because that post was definitely not for me.

To add to this…

I enjoy Lore Olympus and there is a hate page for it on Reddit. Honestly, it’s hilarious. Why do people publicize this? Lmao.

Finding a community of mutual disdain for something is nice tho…ngl. But it’s nice for a moment not for forever. Get your frustrations out and don't engage with the media.

(I say all this just to be the same person who openly hates Aurora when given a chance 😳🤦‍♀️. In my defense, she is meant to be disliked…at least for now.)

I’m asking this out of a genuine desire to learn and understand the situation in Israel / Palestine better, I hope it’s ok

I think what is happening in Palestine is horrific and I understand that people think that Hamas is a result of many years of oppression.

But to the average Israeli citizen who is not responsible for that oppression - I can understand feeling afraid of Hamas. I can understand being terrified as a hostage and it must also be awful for the families of those hostages.

Clearly the way Israel has responded is horrific and the numbers of Palestinians suffering and killed heavily outweighs the numbers in Israel.

But as, say, a family member of an Israeli hostage - what should their response be? I would find it hard to condemn them for wanting Hamas eradicated. Plus, would it be dangerous for an Israeli citizen to condemn their government?

Well they can want Hamas to be eradicated, while recognising that very few of those people being killed now are actually Hamas. You don’t have to be particularly politically engaged to recognise that the pursuit of the destruction of Hamas is being used as a pretext for a campaign of genocide against the Palestinian people. Even if you hate and fear Hamas, that fact is blatantly obvious at this point.

If they want hostages released, Hamas have already offered that. Back in March, Hamas presented a Gaza ceasefire proposal to mediators and the U.S. that included the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for freedom for Palestinian prisoners. Israel refused, and have refused all other indirect proposals since then. In fairness this is exactly what many of the families have been doing - telling the government to negotiate in earnest for their release, that is what many of the protests have been about as well.

Only last week, Hamas said it has ‘broadly agreed’ to a proposal to free dozens of Israeli prisoners in return for a temporary ceasefire, Israel again refused and said they would continue their military campaign in Rafah, which they themselves told Palestinians to flee to and is now next to inpossible to escape from. They must know this offensive will kill many, many innocent people, and they must also realise their own offensive is killing Israeli hostages too.

Israel engages in prolific censorship but citizens of Israel are not kept from engaging in democratic elections, or expressing opinions that are contrary to those of the ruling party. Plenty of Israelis have protested the war, and written against the governments so the option is very definitely there. Israel is repressive but it isn’t North Korea. There is also the fact that polling shows that there is still widespread support for the war among Israelis.

There is just no pretext that would justify the level of destruction and slaughter that Israel have unleashed on the region. Israel have been committing blatant war crimes, it has become routine at this point. Even the massively biased US government are now forced to acknowledge that it is likely that Israel may have committed war crimes with their weapons. That is how blatant and uncontrolled it has become. This has never been about hostages, or even about eradicating Hamas. They are eradicating Palestine itself.

You're on your own, kid Yeah, you can face this You're on your own, kid You always have been Alexia choosing to either keep or let Jenni keep Bambi but either way Bambi actually gets attention and begins to thrive. But the trauma stays with her forever

Ya know...I think they do argue, but probably only because I love to write arguments???

They've had tiffs before--one about you jokingly calling him a 'himbo' and some lashing out when his hangups on intimacy were not communicated--but Sketch and Keeps work their best together when brutally honest. It's tough AND it's a strength.

They argue because Steve has a very public life and a private personality. With that comes the inability to have honest conversations about bothersome things right when they happen because there could be press or fans or just people around who do not need to know your business.

Under no circumstances would you or Steve yell at each other unless alone, and even then, it's not yelling and screaming but mostly venting. Like in Dignity. Both of you can get frustrated; that's part of life.

Sometimes Steve is unrealistic about who he is now, and it can infuriate you. Yes, he's a humble man, and no, he isn't superficial. Like anyone, Steve can appreciate attention from people he wants attention from...

...and the rest he just...ignores.

He doesn't realize or acknowledge that people covet him and fawn over him and depreciate you in order to feel closer to him. It is plain stupid that he can't see this shit going on, and you hate having to be the one to point it out.

Steve, on the other hand, dislikes how easily you depreciate yourself. Drives him bonkers. So what if the rest of the world has an opinion of him, an opinion of you, or an opinion of your relationship? Pardon his french, but who gives a shit? He wishes he knew how to convince you perfect for him and perfect together does not have to mean perfect at all.

Right, so Steve can't or rarely cries. He gets hot, like overheated and uncomfortable, blotchy like a heart-suit high card. All the pressure that can't be released through tears just builds up.

Steve is gifted at compartmentalizing these things, but he gets easily *dinged* mentally. It's a hazard of missing so much culture and history and social development; he can't keep up with being both the Greatest Generation and Gen X. Steve is the most liberal, old fart on Earth. It's very lonely.

Oddly enough, you know that feeling when an elderly person repeats stories over and over again about how they're right and how they learned a lesson as if no one else ever knew? Steve gets that feeling listening to younger and younger people.

That's all a really roundabout way to say that technically you cry more than Steve, but you two have about equal sensitivity to modern struggles. Steve is grateful that he can talk through all of those things with you, and he's happy to listen. Your experiences may be different, but the love you share is the same--that, and how much of a crapshoot growing up is in any decade...
