Glamorous
Sirius surveyed the room until his eyes found Harry, deep in conversation with a Ministry underling. Remus rested his fingers on his arm as Sirius hesitated in the doorway. There was no way either of them would have attended this glamorous event if it hadn’t been held in Harry’s honor. Even knowing this, it had taken some convincing to get Sirius and Remus to attend.
Sirius looked sideways at Remus. Really, it was worth it to see Remus in formalwear. Neither of them had worn dress robes since their wedding. The navy blue outer robe set off the gold in his curls nicely. “Shall we go in?” Remus asked. Sirius nodded, straightening his burgundy robe and tossing his hair.
“It’s now or never, Moony,” Sirius said, stepping into the ballroom fully. A couple people turned to stare at them, but they both ignored them and made a beeline for Harry.
Harry had broadened in adulthood, and his dress robes accentuated that nicely. “This is some party, kid,” Sirius said, hugging Harry and kissing his cheek.
“I’m so glad you guys are here,” Harry said, returning the hug.
“I wouldn’t miss a chance to drink the Ministry’s booze while they say flattering things about my godson,” Sirius quipped.
Harry chuckled. “Not just me, there’s a few of us.”
“It’s for a job well done, Harry,” Remus said, squeezing his arm.
Harry reddened and looked down. “We just did what needed to be done.”
“You did,” Remus said, “But it was also exceptional.”
