Absolutely /adore/ your art and overall take on the Demon Realm world + it's history and the Archivists. Especially coming from someone who adores speculative biology and trying to find logic/science in magic (I'm not sure how to word it so it makes sense - basically almost everything you are doing here)

Curious if you have any ideas on how the titans managed to inhabit the planet, because Papa Titan's hand managed to reach the atmosphere just from lying down. There's no way that planet was big enough for a bunch of titans to walk around comfortably.

Idk much about planetary stuff, but is there some way the planet may have changed? Maybe the Archivists did something?

So, one of the gnome things is overanalyzing things and avoiding doing math, but here we are, you actually made me read my biophysics notes from 4 years ago. There are a few things to really focus on and think about, but I gotta preface this by saying I am very much not an expert on speculative biology xD I just have the internet and some books I am basing my theories on

Titans:

First the titans themselves. A while ago, I made an approximation of how large the Boiling Isles titan is and got that it would be around 27 km in height post-mortem. Buuut if the titan was this height during its life is another question because it would run into some biophysics issues

Issues like the atmospheric pressure. At ground level, it is 101.3 kPa, but at 27 km, it falls is 1.6 hPa (titan bless wolframalpha for counting this as exp funtions are the death of me). That is 63 times higher pressure on their legs than on their head! Blood circulation would be shot to the moon. The blood is liquid that in general transports gasses so travelling fron upper body parts to lower ones where there is diffrent dissoving of oxygen would end up in gas bubbles, which are NOT GREAT. Additionally, their ability to stand up or lie down quickly would be pretty much non-existant as that would be super fast change of pressure and more bubbles. But okay, lets say they are like some kind of abyss fishes and keep constant internal pressure.. that would still mean their hearts would need to be either massive or they would have multiple pumping mechanisms to handle their size (maybe like the single-chamber hearts in fish??) And the thing is we saw their heart, it was big but not THAT big so unless it was just one of many, maybe the last beating heart there might be diffrent explanation. And Im not gonna even go into how temperature changes every 100m around 0,6C, lets say their fur makes them warm and cozy and blue blood avoids freezing problems like some arctic critters

bringing those graphs up again cause they show the altitude change nicely

All of this to say the titans during life were probably smaller. They would still have been massive, but maybe not three times the size of mt Everest massive. So next thing to consider is their magic. Their powers are closely tied to life, healing and creation and so, the demons on the Boiling Isles are said to have originated from it and their evolution waas likely sped up a lot thanks to it. Next we saw size-changing spells affecting King in the carnival episode, so it's not a stretch to believe that all titans could be affected by this kind of spells, with the strength depending on the particular titan's magic. So anyway as the titan was activly dying, its magic could have desperately attempted to save it by rapidly generating more cells to repair its failing systems, ending up in expansion of all tissues and their overall size. (Maybe thats why the vains were so big and empty in the mines, you cant create more energy so maybe the magic going with simmilar concept expanded everything around but not made more of blood?) However, despite these efforts, the magic would ultimately fail to save them. When it reached a critical point, maybe after using up most of its magical energy, the process would stop or change focus. There are some fun grusome possiblities on how that might have went down but this is already pretty long

So in short, I think the titans during life were big but only got island sized after death, otherwise theyd have some wild biological mechanisms battling physics and them becomming bigger would explain where did most of the blood go after death. Not to mention how much food they would need

Planet:

Next the size of the planet. While we don't have many clues to determine whether it's bigger or smaller than Earth, one clue is Luz's lack of reaction to changing gravity after passing through the door. If the planet were larger (or denser I know), she would feel change in g-force, so like the feeling of being on a lift going up in case of bigger planet or down in case of smaller. If the diffrence was significant she would develop issues with circulatory system and fatigue. But thats not the case and I do not have the energy to calculate min change xD

So let's say the planet is Earth-sized. This is still a lot. We don't know if there are any continents on the planet or their sizes, but even if there were same like earth, the scale is immense. If the Boiling Isles were the size of New York (based on titan's height) or even larger, say the size of Hawaii, compared to the world map, that's tiny. If Earh is 510 100 000 km², while NYC covers 1213,3 km² to cover the same area, we'd need 420423 titans lied up neatly next to each other. And thats if they are isles sized their whole life. There can also be landmasses where they can lay on, oceans deep enough to cover bodies, they can be stacked.... I don't think the planet necessarily needs to be much larger to accommodate creatures of this size

TOH as a show:

One thing to remember while analyzing shots from the show is that we we will run into contradictions because it's a show, one that is not focused on speculative biology. While most elements are well-constructed, some details may show inconsistencies. For example, determining the direction of north on a titan becomes challenging when one shot shows the sun setting in one direction and later another. Finding the titan's height poses difficulties when one shot shows their arm reaching the atmosphere while another barely shows them reaching it while standing. But its not due to carelessness, its more about serving purpose of the shot, conveying the atmosphere. They both show the titans are giant, the view from above is beautiful and if they were more focused on keeping them some arbitrery size it might have taken away from it

And Im pretty sure that I'm wrong around a lot of aspects here, how it wasnt supposed to be interpreted like that or its more convoluted than I realize. Thats just my take on this. World we live in can seem small as we can only see a tiny part of it but Earth is so amazingly vast. It's larger than we can comprehend, and yet, it's nothing compared to the vastness of the universe. So, yeah, some of my thoughts on titans and the demon realms planet xD peace

Giving and Receiving Great Feedback

A part of every writing process is receiving feedback from others, and likely reading someone else’s work and giving it yourself. First, we do this because there’s no such thing as a perfect writer, and what happens in our heads when we read our own work may not necessarily be what the reader is getting. As well, reading others’ work helps you with your literacy skills, and what’s important to you as a reader (plus, it’s just nice to return the favour).

So here’s some tips to giving good feedback:

Your should never tear apart the work. Your feedback should inspire the writer to keep going and make their piece better—not quit or give up. Balance suggestions and compliments.

Try to refrain from suggesting your own ideas unless specifically asked for. What I mean by that is avoiding statements such as, “maybe instead of (this), the characters do (this)” your job is not to write the story for them, and often, you might not be making the work better, just different.

Ask pointed questions instead, but ultimately leave the work up to the writer. Something like, “I wonder what (character) was thinking during this moment?” Or “from what I know so far, here’s my prediction for what’s going to happen.” It’s up to the writer to decide whether your questions/predictions need to be answered in the work, and how.

Always start and end with some specific positive feedback. There is always something good about every piece of work—it can be a great detail, some interesting dialogue, a concept you really like, the tone, a character.

In general, it’s most helpful to include specifics or details about what’s working and not working in the piece. Take quotes, write down page numbers and paragraphs, lines. That’s infinitely more helpful than just saying “your descriptions are well written.” If you catch yourself saying that, try adding, “such as in line (really good line) or (another good line).”

When receiving feedback, remember it’s ultimately your work and you get the final say, but remain open to the suggestions and comments you’re receiving. Try them out, but don’t be afraid to end up not including them if they aren��t working for you. Never argue, even if you think your feedback giver is wrong—they took time out of their day to read your work, you should thank them for their thoughts. Even something simple like, “Thank you very much for your feedback, I appreciate the time you took to read my work” is great.

What it’s like to date, ¡soap!

I feel like you’d both get along really well at the beginning. Like he isn’t like Ghost where he needs to take it slow. Unless you’d like it.

This man loves a hug! Like if your walking past each other in your house or at base; he’ll grab your wrist and pull you in for a hug.

Definitely is a movie man, I mean since he’s into hugs and cuddles it is the perfect excuse for the movie.

I feel like he’s physical touch and time.

Like he loves spending as much time with you as possible. Since he is in the military it’s hard to have free time, especially in the SAS. Like as soon as he is home he’d spend it with you and family.

He is all over you when he’s home, if your comfortable with that he’d definitely snuggle you all night and all morning when he comes home. He loves long morning hugs as you make breakfast.

He actually doesn’t mind going clothes shopping with you. He’s more than happy to carry your bags even if you insist you carry them cause they are your bags. He loves when you point out pretty outfits he can definitely see you in and will offer to buy it for you.

If you like reading, and you ready in the morning he’d probably rest his head on your shoulder and read along with you. He’d quietly chuckle to himself if he finds something funny in your book and he’d point at it and you’d too would laugh.

I’d feel like if you two were into the relationship about a year or more you two would get a pet before considering kids. Like you two would talk about kids but you two would rather get a pet before hand. He’d probably get a dog, like a golden retriever or a lab.

You two would go on walks and talk about everything and anything as if you two first met. You two can talk all day and not get bored that’s what he loves about you.

If he has a big family, you’d definitely go out with them. Like they’d go to the pub or a restaurant for food and you’d all sit around the table and take about anything. They adored you, his brothers (if he has any) would jokingly tease Soap and sometimes you’d join in and Soap would just laugh. His sisters (if he has any) adore you. If they are younger they’d always come to you for advice or to do make up for like prom or something.

If you have a big family or a decent sized family, they also adore him. Your younger siblings especially (if you have any)

Definitely likes to go on holidays up Scotland to show you his area and where he used to go when he was younger. Then you’d do the same for him.

If you two are in the garden on a nice sunny day he’d definitely blast music from the kitchen as he grills up some burgers for you and him and even family if they are around.

He’d probably ask you to cut his hair cause you do it just right. Like he went to a barber one time and it didn’t feel the same so he had you do his hair.

In the morning, he’s clingy but just enough for when your both fully awake he’d let you do your thing like get ready for your job or for the day.

I’m the night, I feel like he’d watch a bit of YouTube on his phone for some reason. Like he’d hold it with his hand and rest it on his chest and you rest your head on his shoulder.

On Constructive Criticism.

Hey friends. You ever want to leave a critique on a fic, and the author says they like constructive criticism/"concrit," but then you leave your critique and you try to make it complimentary but the author still seems less than thrilled with you? You may have missed the point of "constructive!" Don't feel bad, you aren't alone. Took me until I started writing and receiving feedback to really figure it out.

The key to remember is, "constructive" doesn't mean "nice." It doesn't mean phrasing gently, or doing a compliment sandwich (although those are fine things to do as well). "Constructive" feedback is feedback that would make the story as the author has already written it stronger.

"The execution of this character's decision to do XYZ felt a little bit out of nowhere, to me. Was that your intent? It didn't seem like it was meant to be a big twist, either. Maybe some extra foreshadowing would make it stronger, or some shock on the part of the other characters." THAT'S constructive criticism.

This is NOT constructive criticism: "This character doing XYZ thing really doesn't make for as strong a story as it could. I think he should have done NQD thing, instead. That would have been better."

The first example offers some ideas on how to help a character's decision land better when the reader couldn't tell what the author's intent was. It's possible the reader didn't like the decision and that's why they noticed - maybe some foreshadowing would have helped them accept it better, or some indication that it was meant to be shocking would have validated the reader's surprise & displeasure. But, crucially, the reader did not suggest anything that would require a massive rewrite. Some tweaking, sure, maybe the addition of a few paragraphs. But not a change to the character's decision as a whole, the way the second example suggested. The second example does describe something the reader thinks would make for a stronger story...but it is not something that would make THIS story stronger. It is describing a different story than the one the author has already written so far, so it's just plain ol' criticism. Constructive criticism makes the existing story stronger.

That's the difference. You aren't workshopping. You are commenting on something that is already being written, that is already planned to the point where someone is already posting it. There is a BIG DIFFERENCE between workshopping a story and simply giving concrit! Unless the author has specifically asked for workshop-style help, offering things to do differently from what was already written is worse than useless. Don't.

Rule of thumb: if what you're saying can be boiled down to "I think this cake would be better if it was pie," say something else. The cake is not pie. It's not GOING to be pie. I didn't ask what you think I should bake, I put cake on the table and asked what you thought of this cake. Tell me what would make THIS cake better. Not the pie you were thinking of, and not a different cake you might have liked better. THIS CAKE.

Fanfiction Writing / Reading

Hi everyone, I wanted to make a little post on general fanfiction writing and reading etiquette etc for everyone. For reference I've been writing fanfiction since I was 12, I'm now nearing 23 and I've been on tumblr since 2013. There's links to resources for those that would like them.

-> GENERAL ADVICE

Color Coding Dialogue On Tumblr: While using color can create visual contrast in things like titles or description, using it to color code dialogue can cause problems for those who are neurodivergent or vision impaired. For instance, I have trouble reading things where the dialogue for one character is bright in color. This means I miss out and can't read and support many new writers.

Showing support for your writers: I don't think demanding reblogs is an appropriate response. However, as someone who has been here for a long time, it's important. You can show your support by commenting, liking, reblogging (and reblogging with tags gives brownie points). Generally : liking will be lost in a sea of likes over time making it harder for you to find that fic again but shows you thought it was good, reblogging shows you enjoyed the fic enough to share it with those on your blog (you can even have a side blog dedicated to fics) and would like to find it again, reblogging with tags or comments says that you enjoyed it enough to share it, push it higher in the tags and that you had thoughts. This helps motivate writers ! Feel free to send them an anonymous ask if you're shy, expressing that you really enjoyed their work.

Use of italics and bold in works: Italics and bold should be used to indicate stressing or importance of certain words. EX: "no you did it!" vs "no you did it" ! You don't need to italic entire dialogue unless it's in certain situations (flashbacks, memories, whispers, etc)

Plotting & Timing: Plot and timing can be a really useful tool! Understanding what your characters are doing and having the plot move smoothly is important when writing. It prevents gaps and promotes interest. Even some of my works move a little too fast, and it can sometimes cause confusion.

READ, READ, READ: Reading is probably the fastest way to increase and broaden your horizons as an author. It allows you to gain a larger vocabularic range and new metaphors. And it helps you find what could be plot holes and more.

SMUT ; Cum Timing: I've written this before, it can happen but it's unlikely. I'll make a whole post dedicated to.. smut. But for now. Here's some other scenarios and miscellaneous notes: -> bottom cums really early on, then the top cums later -> top cums extremely early on, proceeds with oral on bottom -> top can't get it up (this happens a bit with drugs involved) for a while and gives pleasure to bottom, then stops and gives up on an orgasm

Those are a few of my main, overall tips but I'm going to link you to a bunch of resources, too. I understand more than anyone what it's like being new to this. But one of the biggest pieces advice I'm going to give you is:

Allow your writing to be objectively "bad" at first. It always comes with practice. My first fanfictions I used "~" like it was a goddamn period. It's okay.

So Dominic does reveal more when it's safe to do so? OKAY, okay, but what if it takes a lot of time for his beloved to come to trust him? What I mean by that is that some people do not care for their loved one's action simply because they favour them. A normally empathetic person could definitely do that. So if it took around... whatever, 3 years let's say, would he be patient enough if he knew it would lead to his object of affection to basically be okay with everything he does(crazy person behaviour, but it's fictional so it's fiNE)? I'm curious. He's willing to do "anything", but that doesn't mean anything his darling would want specifically. It's anything he would do to get to that specific goal. He isn't exactly known to be nice, especially when he views his kids as burdens. So another question that came to mind, if it hasn't been answered already, would be could he change his mind on his kids? If Y/N likes them, and just really likes kids (even more since they're his), would there be some type of affection growing for them if it came from the simple pattern of "The one I like likes this, therefore I like it."?

Sorry for rambling, I can't seem to pinpoint the man, and he always turns out to be even more vicious than the last ask reveals. I really like how you made him out to be, and as depressing (in the sense that he's a cheater, is clearly insensitive, and would fuck his honey's parent just to excite them?? He's disgustingly intimidating) as I find him to be, it feels more realistic. Would love to punch him, 10/10. Plus he's French. And I'm weak. SO TO SUMMARISE, GOOD WORK, THANK YOU THANK YOU UHM (ỌVỌ)

Thank you so much for writing in, my Lovely ! I am eternally grateful for your kindness and your dedication to reading my posts; I can tell you've even read the more niche ones because you know precisely what Dominic's like ^^. To answer your questions:

Yes, Dominic will only reveal his tendencies to a Darling he can trust wholeheartedly. Granted, he will stow away his true self in order to be with you, but being able to let loose and drop his veneer of humanity is...liberating. That being said, he would only do so if he knows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that his Darling would not only be okay with it, but actively encourage it. He'll settle for the former, though. He knows not to be pushy when Fate hands him a win.

On the topic of whether Dominic would grow to care about his children if you cared for them...Honestly, Dominic is way past the point of forming connections - true, genuine bonds - with anyone that isn't you. And even then, if it's only his superficial charm you're attracted to, Dominic will wear it constantly, if only to make sure you keep loving him. Even at the cost of his real identity. So, to clarify, Dominic won't truly care for his sons. Not in the way that a normal parent would; rather, he views them as highly valuable assets he can use to keep you close to him. And while he may seem to go above and beyond when protecting them, it's only to ensure you don't fall into some kind of stupour if one or both of them ever came to harm.

If they ever did, Dominic would absolutely use the opportunity to convince you to have a child with him. Either through adoption or traditional means, he'll find a way to tether you to him. And no, he won't care about this child, either. Unless it is biologically yours, then he'd feel some sense of responsibility in taking care of it, but only because it is half of you.

Dominic is, for better or worse, an incredibly complex man whose motives stem from something that transcends the very pinnacles of human vicehood, and I'm so glad to hear that you like the way he is characterised, my Darling ^^ !

Spot the difference? 🤭🤭🤭🤭 and i will be a nice blogger and not bring up the fact that on day 3 while we were busy watching Suga's concert JK was on tiktok liking videos.

Sorry anon..I crack myself up when I talk about Yoonkook but umm... yeah so. We already know what happens when u put them in a room together. They run out of things to talk about. We saw on Suchwita and we saw on Bon voyage by JK's own admission. When I see Yoonkook fanfic on twitter I get very confused 🤭🤭😂😂 because they don't click. Not really. If asked they will choose other members first. Definitely not eo. Yoonkook content with just them 2, I doubt they'd be very entertaining. Not without buffers may it be human or machine 😂

Finding Jimin's weakest duo is actually really hard because like RM said; Jimin is the king of chemistry and put him in a room with anyone and it will be funny and quality entertainment. But I will try.

I'm sorry but these 2 alone, together? Nah... Jimin may be the king of chemistry but even he can't fix the Vmin chemistry anymore. There was a time everything used to flow great between them but in recent years Vmin just ain't it. If u think I'm making this up go back to this live before JK comes in

They kept running out of things to talk about too. Jimin even pretended to leave at one point. They were super awkward to say the least and I feel like they were both grateful for JK's presence. @magicshop-pjm1 likes to go "Vmin is dead" every 2 to 4 business days which is absolutely hilarious 😂😂😂 but I think anyone not in denial can admit while yeah, I'm sure they still care about eo, something somewhere went wonky and they're not the same anymore.

This tweet is a joke and its hilarious 🤣😂😂 but unfortunately i find it accurate. Them 2 alone aint it

Taekook.

This was kinda obvious. Some people would rate this duo lower than Yoonkook but I think that's not fair. If you compare them with an unbiased eye Tkk are stronger than ynkk. First they are closer in age which helps. Meaning they're gonna be closer, too. But put them in a room together and it's not even awkward its nothingness. I'm talking silence. By JK's own admission here it just wasn't working. And we all remember the joint IG live where they ran out of things to talk about and JK would play with Bam instead. Another duo where JK needs a buffer for sure. I mean, sure tkk have been out and about but notice how its always with the Wooga squad? Never just them two?

On the plus side, they look really good. So, I'll give them that. 💚

Minimoni

Again this is so hard because Jimin has very strong duos. But yeah, I will put RM second last because RM as a person (bless him and his dimples) he's not the most entertaining and has to bounce off of someone. Them together, alone won't be boring but I'm not sure it would be that memorable or mind blowing. These are just my personal opinions guys so feel free to disagree or chime in. But yeah. I feel Minimoni is 2nd last for me.

I do find it interesting how comfortable RM is with skinship when it comes to Jimin considering he's not big on that in general (unless its Jin) He's even the one who initiates so he is quite comfortable around Jimin.

Anyway, they're a nice duo with a dynamic that gives you UWUs but they're not the most interesting in my eyes. Sorry Minimonis 🤷🏽‍♀️

Namkook

What's the most recent thing that we know about them? We know they hanged out after JK left Jennie's CK event. And we know before that JK said him and RM hadn't drunk together in years. Years. Not months. Now this dont mean they don't see eo. It just means they don't drink together often. I do find this to be significant however because both men love their liquor. But, they drink with other members just not eo so.... 😬😬 again, not making this up, its as per their own admissions

So Namkook in a room together 🤔 what do we got here guys? Have we ever had this? We had a Namkook live but the only memorable thing for me was them outing the fact that Jikook live together. I am blanking on Namkook which makes me feel confident about the position I've put RM.

I would actually have Jinmin and Jihope as a tie but since I'm choosing I will rate Jinmin lower. But man. These 2 together are the absolute best. They are such a comedic entertaining duo. Them together alone in a room is worth every penny if we were asked to pay for any such footage 😂😂 they are funny and they bounce off of eo so well. Never a dull or awkward moment between Jin and Jimin. Never.

These two are the ones you throw to a team that's drowning. They are the ones u assign to a team for better views. I love them together fr fr. Best duo. Such a good duo. Honestly. Hopekook in a room together alone, I'd say that's solid entertainment right there. They're good together, they're funny. It's Jhope we're talking about. He rivals Jimin on having chemistry with the members so him and JK alone i think that's a solid video right there. No awkwardness or nothing and Bonus skinship for the Hopekookers. Good times, really.

JK is extremely comfortable with Jhope so yeah... they're a good duo. No one is getting bored.

Yoonmin

Okay y'all. We know most Yoonmin supporters are rubbish vermin but don't let that make you forget that Yoonmin are extremely entertaining together. Put these 2 in a room alone together and come on... GOLD!! The Yoonmin Suchwita episode is hands down the funniest for me. I laughed from beginning to the end. Swear to God ✋🏽 that episode and the one with the drunk TXT members are great rewatches for me ngl. Also Jimin is Suga's favourite member so Suga is super comfortable with Jimin in everything. But my favorite part of them is the bickering of course.

They can't ever seem to stop fighting which is just so freaking entertaining. Remember ITS 1 when Jhope told Jimin he was being cocky so Jimin said he was going to look for Suga so that the guy could kill his cockiness? He said going to Suga would bring him back down to earth 😂🤣 Because this is who they are, its what they do. They insult eo and call eo out. So people who get mad at Suga need to watch a good old Yoonmin bickering compilation. They've called each other ugly, fat, stupid, skinny, and a bunch of other stuff some people seem to have forgotten.

Anywaaaaaay. Yoonmin alone together is quality content and that's why Suga is high on this list.

Surely I don't need to explain why this duo is number 2 in terms of JK's most entertaining duos. Right? Like its self explanatory? I've stated many times; imo Jin is JK's favourite/closest after Jimin. Some of u disagree and say Jhope nah, its Jin. Imho.

Tom and Jerry, perfect title for them 2. Love it. Put them in a room together and you're set.

Jihope aka Hopemin

We don't need to imagine. This duo have been alone together or engaged just them enough to know they are entertaining as shit. Its usually mostly Jhope laughing at Jimin's antics but this usually prompts Jimin into getting funnier with every laugh he gets from Jhope.

Much like Jinmin they are the duo you shove into a dying group to give it spice. They are absolutely epic and I feel confident putting Hobi on the number 2 spot of Jimin's most entertaining duos.

They do have awkward moments when they're checking eo out to try and out compliment eo but that's just entertaining as well 😂😂

Last but not least Jikook/Kookmin/Minkook/Mingukk

Now hear me out. This isn't just my bias that made me put this duo at the top. Alright? There is this ongoing unfairness taking place in the fandom where people undermine Jimin and JK's funny n chaotic sides.

Together they are hilarious and entertaining and this duo doesn't get enough credit for being as funny as they are.

The reason they are number one is because Jikook alone together is a complete programme. Humor, Check. Chaos, Check. Romance, Check. Sexual tension, Check.

Hate or love this duo, they're a perfect recipe for entertainment.

Hey, I saw that you hid/deleted my comments and blocked me, so I want to apologise if my arguments came as too harsh or agressive. I did not mean to hurt you and I mean you no harm. I was just really upset that agreeing with an anti sexist rhetoric caused me to be called transphobic when this is something I am completely against. Not sure you read every replies I wrote because I was also discussing with other folks in the section but I was saying that even if Terfs may use that rhetoric against trans people, we shouldn’t give it to them and allow them to reclaim it.

Your argument can be turned around by saying that on the other hand, both trans men and trans women can be victims of misogyny based on how they are perceived and can suffer from sexist violence. The bear thing is purposely exaggerated and extreme because its point is to catch attention and to be shocking. Of course it can lead to deeper conversations and reflections later on, but the priority is to point out sexism and violence against women. At the moment, men are the oppressor, since our society is patriarchal, and women are oppressed. Asking women to stop hating or fearing their oppressor will do nothing to help them stop being oppressed. I understand your sentiments and it’s great that you are fighting for trans people to not end up with that rhetoric used against them. But this was not the idea behind the original topic. Of course we can open up a discussion about this but it shouldn’t be overstepping on women’s attempts to denounce what they go through. Terfs are terrible people and will hide behind feminist arguments but we can’t let them reclaim all of these arguments and let them turn them into transphobic ideas because we would be giving them what they want by letting them become some spokesperson for feminism. Most women who agreed with the bear thing were not carrying any ill sentiment against trans people. Because that wasn’t what the topic was about. But I appreciate that you added another post and explained yourself more, and I am sorry that the discussion became a heated argument and that I got a bit too emotional.

To be clear, again, I don't think saying "bear" makes you as an individual transphobic- just that the sort of rhetoric present in the "man vs bear" discussion is very similar to the rhetoric that gets used against trans people.

I fully agree with the idea that too many women, and too many people in general, have been victims of violence from men. That it's horrible for so many people to have been traumatized in such a way that they don't feel safe around men. My problem is that this conversation frames men* as the worst possible threat. Not everyone who says "bear" feels this way, but a majority of them do

*or really, people who are presumed to be men based on appearance, because no one is going around asking strangers "excuse me, what's your gender identity?" before they decide whether or not they feel safe

The thing is, this perception of men (or "men") as the ultimate threat isn't something we are "giving to" TERFs- it is already a foundational part of their beliefs. You can read further about some common TERF talking points here.

Yes! Absolutely! Both trans men and trans women, as well as other sorts of trans people, very much do suffer from sexist violence, and this might cause them to feel unsafe around (people they perceive to be) men just like many cis women do.

That doesn't contradict my point that trans people also suffer from anti-man rhetoric.

Of course it can lead to deeper conversations and reflections later on, but the priority is to point out sexism and violence against women.

Pointing out sexism and violence against women is absolutely an important thing! I do think it can be done without treating men/people perceived as men as inherently dangerous though.

Asking women to stop hating or fearing their oppressor will do nothing to help them stop being oppressed.

Obviously we shouldn't stop fighting misogyny because everything will be solved if women just stop hating men, or anything. But I do still want women to stop hating men. "Misandry, as I see it, can never reliably be prevented from collapsing into transphobia." Even if the topic wasn't directly about transphobia- "man vs bear" is closely related to the belief that men/perceived as men are the worst possible danger, which is closely related to transphobia.

I don't think all women who say "bear" are transphobic, consciously or even unconsciously, or that they need to change their answer or else they hate trans people.

However, I don't think it's unreasonable to act people to reflect on their internal biases, and on how the way they perceive men may relate to transphobia.

They all trickled out of the classroom, leaving you and Shouta alone. You looked over at him; he side-eyed you, and finally said words to you: "you do look different today, Miss L/N. Got a date with your new boyfriend tonight?" All right, then. You guessed that the first name basis thing was truly only out of the school setting. You snapped back, "not that it's any of your business, Mr. Aizawa, but no I don't. I just felt like dressing differently today." He just frowned at you in response, and went back to grading papers.

The remainder of the day went by without you saying a single word to one another. It was really eating away at you. Once the school day was over, instead of going home right away, you stayed behind with the intent on talking to Shouta. After all the students left the classroom, you went over to Shouta's desk, and he looked up at you inquisitively. You blurted out, "you don't like me, and I want to know why. I've been nothing but nice to you, and you act as if you hate me. Why?" He just blinked at you. "I don't hate you, Miss L/N." Oh, okay. "Alright, well then why do you always keep me at arm's length? I think if you got to know me, we could be friends."

He instinctively replied, "I already have enough friends." You could tell he instantly regretted his words. "I'm sorry, miss L/N, I didn't mean it that way. I just...I don't know. I just never saw us as getting close, we seem too different." You just looked at him, "you and Hizashi are best friends, and you are literally night and day. What makes you think we can't be friends?" He looked at you thoughtfully for a moment, "I don't know." He was hopeless. "All right then, I don't know what else to say. Have a nice evening, I will see you tomorrow." And with that, you turned right around and walked right out of the classroom, not noticing his eyes following you on your way out.

The next couple of days went by like this; him barely speaking to you, unless it was absolutely necessary about work. It was frustrating, but what could you do? Your one bright spot was Kenzo. He would send you cute texts and funny memes throughout the day, and they never failed to bring a smile to your face. One day, on a random Thursday, Shouta must have noticed you smiling down at your phone to the point where he took it out on the students, and banned them from even bringing their phones out for the remainder of his class.

Friday finally rolled around, and it was another typical day of him barely talking to you. You couldn't wait for the work day to be over, so you could finally be away from him. Besides, you had your second date with Kenzo on Saturday night, so you tried to focus on that. The school day finally ended, and you and the students all said your goodbyes to each other for the weekend. Once the last student left, and it was just you and Shouta, you asked him if there was any additional work he needed help with. He shook his head, and said, "no, you may leave if you want." If you want? Why would you stay? "Okay, have a nice weekend, Mr. Aizawa." And once again, you turned around and walked out without waiting for him to say another word to you.

When you got home on Friday night, you were in a grumpy mood. You tried to think of your date with Kenzo the following night, but even that wouldn't bring you out of your funk. You changed out of your work clothes, put on a pair of leggings and a short-sleeve crop top, plopped down on the couch, and put on some mindless television. You were barely even paying attention to what was on the screen; it was just background noise to your thoughts at this point. All your mind could drift to was...Shouta.

Why were you even thinking of him? He clearly made it known he didn't like you, let alone want to be your friend, so why did you care? While you were stewing in your thoughts, you suddenly heard a knock on your door. You weren't expecting any company, so who could it possibly be? They knocked again; they knew someone was home, they could hear the television playing. You turned off the television, walked to your door, and opened it to Shouta Aizawa standing in your doorway.

Since we are definitely reaching the final climax of the Todoroki Family Saga in Chapter 390, looking back 100 chapters ago at Chapter 290 how satisfying was Dabi's Dance knowing everything we know now?

I love Endeavor as a character study, but I couldn't be the only one to feel happy when he got pushed into a corner by Dabi and saw him pathetically apologize to his family while crying.

I hope Shoto saves his family in time.

Well, that’s a tricky question. I mean if you’re asking for the entire fallout of 290, we’re talking about over a quarter of the series at this point. Lots to go over my thoughts on.

Thinking about it, I think I can confidently say a lot about Dabi himself was quite satisfying. I mean, I don’t like his mental deterioration, but then he might actually be fighting through that in this chapter, we’ll have to see. But other than that, it was great to get such insight into his character; I mean yeah we already assumed some of it was true in our fanon, but some of it was genuinely new info on him. And I found it neat how that was reflected in him being more close & open with the League post-reveal, an aspect to him I feel is easy to forget when we talk about his family so much lately.

Endeavor…it would be polite to call him a mixed bag. I liked him being treated as being in the wrong, as the one responsible for fixing this, and vindictively I liked when he's shown pathetically as you described. I also like that his family hasn’t really forgiven him at all, they just expect him to help save Touya; kind of using him the way he used them. That said it was already laborious to sit through his pity parties before 290, and that has not improved. Also the idea he’s expected to make up for his mistakes is really hurt by how little he's really done. He dodged his responsibility so much in that time for the AFO fight (which he really wasn’t needed for) that in 100 chapters he’s said one (1) nice thing to Touya, “I don’t want you to die,” and that’s it, that’s how much he’s personally made up for things with Touya. (Unless you count literally looking in his direction.)

Shoto; I still don’t think is ready to save Touya. He’s only thinking about one of his brother’s issues & he’s not very sympathetic to him on it because of how much of a villain he’s been. I mostly feel bad for him, for being put in this situation having to clean up the his dad put the family in; specifically because I don’t think he’s as well equipped to do that as everyone around him thinks he is. He can stop the bomb, yeah, but he doesn't seem ready to reach his brother. (Incidentally may I direct everyone to my part 2 theory again?)

And I guess to end on my overall thoughts on the plotline: I do overall like it, even if some aspects of it feel off or rub me the wrong way. Mainly because I approach it from the angle of Dabi, who has become such a great character through it; and I was already a big fan to begin with. But I'm just not convinced it's ready for its climax as you describe when his relationship with his family is still so rocky that 'Mr. Closed-Off' here might be closer & more accepted in the League right now. So there's some dissonance there for me I'm not sure what to do with.

Eh, I'll figure it out as the plot develops further.

I really feel what you mean about feeling you aren’t really a therian unless you’re a canine or feline. I just started iding as a therian (after years of desperately wishing for floppy ears and literally having a tail phantom limb) literally today. But from what I’ve seen from the community so far. it’s almost entirely foxes and coyotes and wolves, and all the resources are for stuff like that.

What if I’m a little sheep???? What gear or fun ways to make things more comfortable for my theriotype do I get???

I mean, I'm a lizard. We're extremely rare. I know two other lizzy fellas. But I learned to not let ruin your day because of the amount of species found within the community. Rather focus on the good things, your friends and supporters. If you cannot find anything focused on sheep, either make yourself something or request stuff on pages that are open for such.

Though, may I ask where you got the "I don't feel like a therian" one from? Because I don't remember saying this. /nm /gen

Hey! I loved your BNHA post about what the worst thing about being in a relationship with them would be. It was really fun & interesting to read, and I loved the angst aspects♡ Can I ask the same, but with the SDR2 characters? What are the worst things about being in a relationship with them? Thank you!

Teruteru is practically perfect, believe it or not. You’ll find out that the worst thing about him though is his lack of honesty, since he does not like you worrying about him he never tells you his troubles.

Mahiru is also pretty much perfect cuz I’m biased and she’s my wife. However, she tends to be a bit of a mom. This can be a good thing, but also a bad thing. She nags you way more than moms normally do, way past the point of annoyance. She tries not to be too much, but it can surprisingly be overwhelming how much she nags you to do things. This is only a problem though if you’re the forgetful or lazy type.

Peko is always busy. She wants to keep you safe, but she also wants to keep her young master safe. As a result, she stays away from you in hopes enemies will be less likely to find you, and she can still protect fuyuhiko. She does this out of love, but it’s so much time away from her.

Ibuki is pretty much perfect as well lol. The worst thing I can say about her is that she tends to wake you up at ungodly hours because of her music, or just because she was looking at something and laughed lol. She doesn’t rlly have much regard for your sleep unless you really need it.

Hiyoko tends to be mean, which you know. However, she has no regard for who she’s mean to, she’s mean to your friends and even to some of your family members. She respects your parents at least, but cousins, siblings, etc are not respected the same way and that can be upsetting.

Mikan is obsessive. She tries not to be, but she isn’t used to being in a relationship. She tells you to be please let her know if she’s being too much, because she’s all too aware she isn’t exactly normal about her adoration for you. But it’s just so hard to say something to her without feeling bad…

Nekomaru tries to force you into things a lot. If you’re the lazy type he tries to encourage you to workout a lot and the thought is nice but if you don’t want to do it he won’t stop until you agree. He’s doing it out of love but he’s way too pushy.

Gundham rarely opens up, he will but it’s rare. Sometimes it just feels like he doesn’t trust you. And he seems to like your physical affection, even vocal affection but seems to push away from it and reluctantly returns it. It may feel like he doesn’t like you back at times, but he’s just extremely shy.

Nagitos self loathing. Trying to help him through it is not only a struggle it is exhausting and even draining to deal with at times due to the negativity and how constant it is. He’s aware of it too, which only makes it worse.

Chiaki seems more invested in video games than you at times, she doesn’t mean it she is just autistic and her special interest is video games lol. It’s hard to realize at times though since video games are most of your conversations, it’s hard to think she’s interested in you.

Akane is always getting herself hurt and it just feels like you’re constantly looking after her and making sure she’s not getting into trouble. You’re supposed to be her s/o not her babysitter.

Sonia can make you jealous without realizing it. This shouldn’t be too much of a problem in itself but it’s so constant. Between her obliviousness to souda and how much she compliments gundham it’s hard to believe she even likes you at times or cares about how you feel.

Souda is a bit of a .. perv… too much at times. We know how creepy he was around sonia so .. yeah. Not the best feature to have all things considered but you love him for him. He’s just a big creep.

Fuyuhiko has bad connections for obvious reasons lol, it makes you more in danger. While you’re willing to make that sacrifice to be with him, it’s terrifying some nights knowing fuyuhiko may have to wake you up and force you outta the house because some guys are onto you.

Hajime isn’t as bad as nagito in terms of self loathing, but you’ll find his worst trait is also that. It can be exhausting at times but he does try to find some positivity in his life so it isn’t as bad.

Do you think Danneel Abuses Jensen?

Hello Anon, thank you for the ask. Before I proceed with answering your question I am going to make this clear. On my blog I have more or less criticized their clear lack of genuine chemistry, admittedly talked about Danneel's looks in a critical way as I don't believe her hair color is flattering on her, her sometimes frankly poor public behavior, and notated Jensen's clear contempt of her in multiple posts. You're free to check my pinned posts for my criticisms of Danneel and even Jensen as a couple or as some would say "Jenneel". When it comes to abuse however do understand that it's not as clear cut on the outside as people believe it is. I'm going to structure the post with some posts and "evidence" that suggests Danneel is abusive and then others that suggest that Jensen could be at times too. Question is, if there happens to be abuse happening behind closed doors, who is the real victim and who is the real perpetrator?

* Some past posts here on Tumblr suggest that Danneel is indeed abusive. It's been said that Danneel was known for using SPN staff to babysit their children while she visited Jensen on the set. Rumors have it that Danneel was banned from the set at one point for years due to her poor behavior.

This post an Anon sent to another Tumblr user from a said medium who reads photos stated "Also, in my opinion, Elta Danneel Graul belongs in jail."

This post talks about Jensen having a bruise on his nose back in 2019. One version of the story according to one commenter says that he claimed to have dropped something on it while at FBBC and another while swimming with the kids. Make of that what you will but I do know when people are being inconsistent with where the got an injury from, they are hiding the truth.

If you believe Danneel is using certain SPN ships to get more attention to herself, you may like this post and conclude that she may be using Jenmisheel and heller fans to gain attention and therefore also money for herself. It also talks about her poor behavior towards her fans some.

There are other posts that more or less speculate on how Danneel is likely manipulating Jensen and lying about things. For example, this one talks about how Danneel likely lied about trying to set Jensen and Sophie Bush up initially because I'm not sure what their reasoning is ha ha, just because? I think the studios can try to push actors together and such but unless someone's holding a gun to their heads you can't make people date. Also, the whole falling in love on the set of Ten Inch Hero is an interesting story (that seemingly is starting to unravel), as it seems to be around when they started to date. This post another user found of a news clipping of Danneel suggesting she lied about growing up Catholic instead of Baptist. Because a history of being a liar means someone is a manipulative narcissist, right?

I know of at least one post where Danneel has criticized him for things relating to his diet and therefore also body shaming him with this Tumblr post serving as a receipt of an Instagram post where this seems to be the case.

There are of course multiple posts talking about Danneel being a cheater and how both of them were dating other people when they first met on the set of Ten Inch Hero (TIH for short), like this one. It's been said that she talked about on one of the Drama Queens Podcasts she admitted to kissing someone on the elevator... while dating Jensen. "Is it really cheating...", I believe it was this podcast. Is cheating abuse? No but it certainly isn't a nice thing to do.

Lots of critics pointed out how Danneel was not there to support her husband after the shooting on the set of Rust. He admitted during the interrogation that he can't really talk to Danneel about it because "it freaks her out". She has no problems flying to places like Rome but can't fly out to another state after a shooting happened on the set of a movie Jensen was a part of? Hmmm...

* On the other hand, I do not believe Jensen is at all innocent either. I don't see many posts about Jensen being abusive but have seen and heard multiple clips where he is not painted in the best light as far as being a husband goes. Other things suggest he just may have a bad temper behind closed doors and can be destructive of property.

During the 2018 Montreal convention, Jensen admitted to having kicked in a door at a hotel he was staying at late at night, as the door key was not opening the door and the hotel manager was unable to unlock it as well. "Dean just came out" is one thing he said while telling this story. I also for the life of me cannot find this website for some reason that was from 14ish years ago but I recall reading on a forum site earlier this year that Jensen and Danneel had a fight one night that resulted in him throwing a phone and it breaking.

I've heard of things from other Tumblr users, such as how Danneel will tell him things like how Jensen puts dishes by the sink and not dishwasher (can't find the video of where he said this), Jensen didn't clean the house at all when Danneel was sick with COVID, barely ever if at all changed diapers, etc.

Jensen seems to hold a lot of contempt for Danneel, multiple posts of which with videos, photos, etc. are on my index page pinned to my blog under "Couples Goals LOL!". However, this article is noteworthy of a mention here, as he jokes about Danneel being his sugar baby when he is gone filming. Other rumors have it that Jensen sometimes yells at his kids when feeling impatient or doesn't want to hear them talk. Make of it what you will but Jensen has been portrayed as being a very lazy and selfish husband and father on multiple occasions. Not a nice way to talk about your wife either bro...

In this clip here, Jensen clearly ignored Danneel's attempt for her to affectionately wrap his arm around his at the premiere for The Backup Plan. Also, at one con in recent months he mentioned how Danneel talked about him using his face to get seated at a restaurant and he admitted he told her to "shut her mouth". Very nice...... and I mean that with the utmost sarcasm. On Supernatural Day back on 6/23/2018, Jensen looks clearly annoyed at Danneel who wanted to leave but he had promised to sign something for a fan. The annoyance he has for her here instead of simply saying "hold on, I promised her I'd sign this for her, I'll be right back". At least he's more friendly with fans but has no issues embarrassing his wife in public.

During the Charlotte main J2 panel, Jensen talked about how he essentially didn't text the driver back after he walked away from the track when the car he was in had engine failure. He asked Danneel very early in the morning about her and the kids coming with and she declined. At the very least, it was extremely rude behavior on his part. Point is, this is one of multiple examples where Jensen too has some very poor public behavior.

I answered this ask a couple days ago regarding if I believe any moves have been made for Jensen and Danneel to divorce. I talked about how Danneel was at some point removed from FBBC paperwork. It turns out the site I forgot the name of is opencorporates.com, which does indeed show that Danneel and Gino's dad and someone else was removed in 2021 from FBBC as owners and such. A while back, someone else showed me screenshots where Danneel has been removed from most of Jensen's LLCs except for Chaos Machines Productions including one talent agency. The question here is, does this mean a divorce is in the works? Or... does it mean removing assets from Danneel's name outside of real estate which can mean bad things for her in terms of sources of income should they divorce. It could also mean making her more dependent on him financially, as she is no longer a named owner or member of LLCs he/they opened together. I personally cannot see how Danneel could possibly be controlling Jensen in terms of finances or even in forcing Jensen to stay married particularly if many of the assets in fact belong to Jensen ultimately not Danneel.

Now, here I am going to briefly touch on some signs of someone experiencing domestic abuse. I only pointed to some of many posts on here but wanted to provide some highlights to keep this answer as close to a reasonable length to read as possible ha ha [source].

1. A person changes their typical behavior

2. A person develops new mental health symptoms

3. One person makes all the decisions

4. A person is isolated from friends and family

5. One partner controls all the money

6. There are frequent put-downs and criticisms

7. One partner pressures the other

8. There’s violence or threats of violence

Of course, there are other sources out there about domestic violence, such as this website below. I am going to let people form their own opinions as to who the victim here is and who the perpetrator here is or if they simply bring out the worst of each other and would be better people separated...

A Marcus Moreno Fan Fic

It’s been a while Marcus Moreno, it really has. I wanted to write him true to him being the man you deserve, & I also wanted to prove a point slightly. & I think I’ve got the tone of this just about right. But this hero is going to be just that to you.

Synopsis: As head of Marketing & PR, it’s your job to make sure all the heroics look good. You’ve asked Marcus as the leader of the heroics to come help promote the newest member of the team, but this photo shoot ends up being more than just a handful for you both.

You approach his office rather reluctantly, you know the second you walk through his door his face will drop. It’s taken you a good 3 years to realise it’s not actually you his face drops for, he likes you, you’ve been out for coffee, you’ve chatted, your girls are the same age & are friends at school, there may even been some flirting happening on your side to try & cheer him up a bit.You always try to make his day a little bit happier. So you know it’s not you, he enjoys your company.

But someone has to be the brand officer & head of marketing for the heroics. Someone has to. It’s your job & you’re good at it. 95 times out of 100 another heroic who loves the lime light & loves to show off that they are a hero can do this. But every now & then you need it to be Marcus. He loves a charity event or spending times with kids teaching them morals, he’s happy to do those but an advert or press, unless it’s a statement about saving the world, he’s less into. Today you need him though. There’s a new heroic & you need him to do a quick little speech & pose for the new post that’s being put up to advertise, Bill the Bulldozer.

Knock knock you sigh as you wait for him to say yes. You see him smile & then drop.

“& I thought Mondays couldn’t get any worse” Marcus sighs as he straightens his glasses.

“nice to see you too Marcus” you shut the door behind you. He’s actually in his heroic gear which means he must have been given the heads up for this or he’s about to go on a mission, swords still hanging from the wall. “I’m guessing you know why I’m here, I wish it was just a social call”. You slowly walk across to his desk, your tablet in hand ready to show him what needs to happen for the next hour.

“Our wonderful new Heroic, have you met him yet?” Marcus rolls his eyes, when he sees the posses the photographer has made him do already.

“No actually, I mean I’ve said hi & I’ve seen him in a training video that was put together, but nothing more than that” you smile as you a swipe your screen so Marcus can have a glimpse at what he has to say in a minute for his little speech when you take him to do this promotion. Marcus raises an eyebrow at one of the words proposed.

“Well whoever wrote this has recommended I say the word charming, they clearly have not met him yet, he needs to mature before he’s charming but then I don’t think he’ll even bother” Marcus shakes his head & downs his coffee removing his glasses & stands next to the mirror to put his contacts in.

“Why is that Marcus?” You can’t not stare at his peachy arse especially when it looks so tight in that super hero outfit.

“He’s in this for the wrong reasons, not saving the world or protecting people or being a hero” he tuts as he puts his first contact in, the first deep brown eye watering. “He is an Insta sweetheart & influencer, he will be here all of 3 years before he’s either a corporate sell out or gets bored. I’ve seen these types before” you nod in agreement when he turns around. You’ve not met him yet but you’re not going to argue with that leader of the heroics, especially as he’s just summoned his swords. You always blush when he does that in your presence. “After you miss” he says.

Marcus always walks a few steps behind you which you always think is protection from sword or a personal space issue, especially at work. But it’s none of those reasons especially today with Marcus. Your dress is backless, & halter neck & dark green, to go with your eyes. Your hair is black & sleek & in a bun with a trail so it goes down your left side. He can see the defined layers of your bare back, wondering how your boobs look so good from the front if nothings there to hold them in place. He can also see your butterfly’s tattoo that glides from your right hip to your left shoulder. It shows your growth & how you’ve grown into being yourself that took a while, the heroics are a big part of who you are, it’s more than just a job. He loves the way your hips move, the curve of your bum. He’s getting a show, something he always enjoys which isn’t always so well advertised. You can’t sense how intensely he looks at you each time you walk, but to anyone else walking the other way it’s obvious he has feelings for you.

The crew to make this advert & do the promos & photos all greet Marcus when he walks in the room. Being the leader of the heroics comes with respect. The only person currently not giving Marcus the correct amount of respect is the new Heroic. Bill is chatting the man from security, asking him if he’s free on Friday so he can show him what real power is. Marcus just waits for him to realise that everyone else has stopped or moved. Even the security guy who is being flirted with acknowledges Marcus & try’s to get Bill to do the same but he doesn’t. You can see Marcus getting frustrated at something he already hates doing, so you start to speak to save them both.

“This should be quick & painless, hopefully like all your missions people” you joke & Bill finally saunters around to see you both in the room while Marcus has some eyeliner added to his face. He’s still not acknowledged him or even nodded “as heroics we are a team be it fighting monsters & saving the world, to doing press we don’t have the patience for. We do it together & we do it for the greater good” there’s suddenly a hive of activity. This is basically your code for get this done, Marcus doesn’t have all day, which he doesn’t. You watch as everyone gets everything in place & Marcus gets ready to do a few small test photos first before doing the cheesy poses with Bill & then his little recording for the promo. You hear Marcus mumble & see him roll his eyes still not happy so you decide to go & talk to Bill, who’s now checking himself out in the tight Lycra in the mirror.

“Bill…” you start but then he interrupts before you even get to what you need to say at all.

“The Buldozer, that’s me, the greatest Heroic the world has ever seen” he tosses his flowing blonde locks which are shiny. You try not to roll your eyes, at his bad catchphrase that he just sang proudly, but it is so bad.

“Yes sir, so you’ve done other action parts for your promo for you being a new heroic &…”

“Did I look good?” He says suavely. Oh no you think, we do have a bad charmer on our hands, this is going to be an uncomfortable morning. “Because of the answer is no, I need to do it all again, everyone needs to see just how good I look” he’s flexing a bit now too, which is a huge turn off for you. You just continue your job of briefing him.

“…So we need Marcus to do a few poses & action shoots with you & then a few actual recorded bits & then we can edit them for the video” your trying to be professional but he is still trying to be an ultimate poser & he’s not doing it in the usual way. You leave him to his own little world & go & watch Marcus give his little speech to the camera about how in harmony the team are & this new member makes it an even bigger family. Even when dealing with an idiot who’s in the team, Marcus is the consummate professional. That’s why he’s leader of the heroics. Not that he ever needed to be for you, you have feelings for the man.

When the shoot is over & they have done their poses & promo video together, which took much longer than either you or Marcus hoped for due to Bills demands to watch the takes back several times, because there was a slight shadow on him at one point, you eventually sigh & go to take Marcus away so he can actually get in with his real job. Marcus is busy talking to an scientists who was looking for him, who’d come down to the shoot as it was running over, so you head over to Bill.

“Thank you Bill, that was all brilliant, you looked good in those promos. So what I was…”

“Good?!” He questions putting the mirror down, & turning to face you millimetres away from you. “The last time I looked good I was 10. Im dashing now at a minimum, I demand to redo my videos & photos.” Out the corner of your eye you see the photographer sigh & you are not having his demanding attitude, that’s not how the Heroics work.

“Well these are just for the youtube & Insta heroics account, just to tell people who you are & what to expect if they come across you as a super hero. This isn’t a Movie or HBO production where your an actor & paid thousands or…” he interrupts you again.

“How do I get paid?” He says bluntly a stern look on his face.

“I am not sure Bill you’d need to…”

“Well I know how I could be paid” he hoovers over you getting into your personal space. He stinks of cheap aftershave. The smirk is the same all of these type of men have. You are not here for that, & even if you were it wouldn’t be with him. “What’s the matter doll, am I too much a man for you to handle” his hand trails down your face & you step back. Marcus catches this moment out of the corner of his eye.

“Bill im flattered but you’re not the man for me I….”

“Then how about a quick shag in the locker room, I bet you moan at just my touch” he’s crossed the line & you can see Marcus trying to hurry up his conversation to come & intervene.

It then all happens so fast. Marcus is between you both screaming at him.

“The fuck do you think you’re playing at old-man” Bill shouts at Marcus.

“You need to apologise right now”Marcus demands. You’ve seen this look before, you can see the anger build up inside him at what Bill has just done to you.

“She was practically begging for it”

“No she wasn’t she said no, she did not consent”

“Well she will do one day, the cheap slut”

That’s all it takes, Marcus punches him, square in the nose, ironically taking the bulldozer down. Claret spill out of his nose.

“You bastard” he wipes his nose & leaps up to retaliate against Marcus but you step in between.

“Stop” you say. smack you feel the full affect of the super punch intended for Marcus. Your Jaw throbs, & you stumble backwards. You take the hit butter than the hero did a minute ago. Marcus then grabs him around his neck line of his super suit.

“The hell do you think you are playing at” it’s a loud screech Marcus lets out. His eyes are enraged that anyone would dare even be spiteful to you, let alone hit you once or call you derogatory names. “Your suspended as a heroic, pending an enquiry”

“WHAT!” Bill is outraged “who the fuck do you think you are old man”

“I’m Marcus Moreno, leader of the Heroics & your attitude for the entire day even before this incident has not been remotely heroic, I’m disgusted to even have your name associated with our team.” Two of the people in the photo shoot have now come rushing over & are checking you are okay. Your face stings & you can feel the bruising trying to come out already. You’re lead out of the room to go to the medical centre in HQ, standard procedure after an injury caused buy a heroic, but you really want to see how this encounter concludes. Marcus is clearly willing to defend your honour & put the newest heroic in his place. The last thing you see as you are lead out of the double doors which close, is Marcus looking like he’s ready to full on fight as he shouts. “You really dont understand a thing about being a hero, maybe you need more than a lesson in that.”

You’re sat in your office about 2hours later, holding an ice pack still on your still aching jaw, to bring the bruise out quicker. Your hair already down from its bun as it was adding to the headache that was starting. Youd filled out an incident report & had various heroics & other staff people come to visit you, word gets around fast in HQ, & other than the heroics, you are one of the most popular people who work here. You hope it’s because people like you & not just due to your job being in PR. You didn’t break anything in your scuffle but your body aches.

The door knocks twice & in walks Marcus, he has an ice pack around his own hand & he is just in his black T-shirt & tight jeans. Half of the superior hero outfit has gone but he’s not put his glasses on yet or removed his eyeliner. It draws you to those big brown eyes even more.

“Just checking in” he says as he closes the door behind him.

“Ooh Marcus your hand what did you do? Please don’t tell me…” you start. You automatically go into caring mode, concerned for your friend. You go to get up quickly & slightly move the ice pack, which makes you hiss.

“Woooo take it slows” Marcus interrupts & walks to your side of the desk & keeps you in the chair. “You got sucker punches by a super hero, that’s gonna hurt for a while” his caring eyes meet yours. You smile is soft & says so much more than thank you.

“What happened to Bill?” You ask as Marcus fully inspects your face.

“Let’s just say that the promo morning was a waste of everyone time” he says as he sighs.

“You fired him?”

“Yes. & not just because he abused you, but because of his whole attitude & behaviour, we only promoted him to make him mature & make him realise his important & prestigious being a heroic is, turns out it just inflated his ego even more” you sit there in shock but also happy about this. Happy that a man who slaps women & doesn’t know about consent is no longer in your life but also that he won’t give the heroics a bad a name.

“Will he not sue us?”

“He’s not got a leg to stand on if he even attempted it. He hit you twice &…” Marcus looks at his hand in his own ice pack.”he had a good go at trying to take me out & 2 members of security too”

“I can’t believe you stepped up to him for me Marcus” your empty hand strokes across the back of his. “You really are my hero”

“Does that make you a damsel in distress?” You both scoff at this. All heroics hate those two sentences but play up to them as a joke.

“I could be for you” you sit up & wince a bit. The force of the punch that landed may be killing your face, but it did send shock waves through your body. Every now & then a part of it aches & right now it’s your neck & back. Your hiss upsets Marcus & his hand which did have the ice pack on it trials down your back to sooth you. It sends more than just shivers down you spine from the chill. A soft moan escapes your mouth from his touch.

“Marcus” your words are soft. Those fingers going ever so slowly. Maybe your subconscious knew to put on a backless dress this morning to experience this moment. He pushes you hair to the side as his other hand rubs your shoulder too.

“Is this helping?” He says genuinely not realising you’ve been sent in a spin by his hands.

“I’m glad” Marcus then stops & your sharp intake of breath shocks him.

You are also sure by the look in his eyes that this isn’t a joke. You lean into him, eyelashes fluttering before your lips connect. The adrenaline & rush in your body takes the pain away instantly as Marcus moans into the kiss. He always wondered how this would feel & it’s better than he could ever hope for.
