The duffer bros said a while back that s5 will take a big time jump from s4 but like...how?? How are they gonna ignore the apocalypse that happened in hawkins???
Also when Lucas said in the last episode "max died for a minute but she got back to life it was a miracle" why did eleven stay silent why didnt she tell him that it was her to brought max to live?
One last questionnn, do u think that vecna has eddie? Cuz we didnt see his dead body
no idea tbh. i guess they’ll just pretend nothing happened like they always do in Hawkins lol like “oh? giant cracks all over the city? no biggie, let’s just move on to the next part of town a monster will destroy”
listen i was so??? about that. the cali crew lowkey knows she did smth, but maybe she didn’t want to say anything before making sure she could find max on her head - and when she didn’t well. who knows tho another weird moment for sure. i think that whole 2 days later bs was terrible lol they should’ve made 3 eps and explained everything. like i know some people say there wasn’t anything to show but uh?? everyone acting like everything’s fine. no one’s sad about eddie at all (apart from dustin ofc). where’s max mom? where’s lucas and erica’s mom??? where’s murray and the guard? idk it felt rushed af to me after 7484949 hours of episodes they couldn’t add an extra half hour 😭
idk i think he’s dead dead. i think people just want him back (as i do, too) cause his character was really good and fun but yeah. if they bring him back it’ll be bs imo. i’m already mad that they didn’t kill off max for good lol maybe they didn’t expect people to like eddie so much tho so 👀

It had started out as mostly a joke, a proposition that he never imagined you’d actually take him up on.
You always thought Eddie Munson, the town ‘freak’ was incredibly attractive, not that you’d ever voice that opinion to anyone. Mostly due to the fact that you had a boyfriend, who in the eyes of everyone in Hawkins— was the definition of perfect.
Scott McGuire was a great boyfriend… on the surface.
He was a star basketball player, friends with the most popular people in school. His family was loaded, despite being from a small town like Hawkins. He drove a Mercedes, and made you feel so special. When he had asked you out halfway through your junior year, you were over the moon.
And in the beginning of your relationship, you were beyond smitten with him. But after a year of dating him, you’d come to realize he was nothing you had wanted.
Scott was arrogant, vain and downright cruel. His biggest flaw being that he took absolute pleasure in causing pain to others. The main target of his rage was Eddie and his band of ‘freaks’. His best friend Jason was right by his side, constantly tormenting the group. But always Eddie more so than anyone else. You never enjoyed it, always finding a way to escape the moment an insult (or a punch) was thrown his way.
Despite all of this, you felt pressured to stay with him.
Your parents absolutely adored him and so did your friends. Most of which were the girlfriends of his friends. Your lives had become so interwoven you felt trapped. So to appease everyone else in your life, you continued the relationship. Even though you knew you didn’t love him.
In your eyes he was, all around, the worst boyfriend you could have landed… especially when it came to sex.
Scott was terrible in bed.
He only wanted you on his terms, only caring about his wants and needs. And in the year you’d been with him, he’d never made you come. Not once. At first you thought something was wrong with you, that you were broken.
But the more you talked with your friends on the cheer squad, the quicker you began to realize it was a Scott problem. Not a you problem. So you started faking it, your little act becoming so good that you even deluded yourself into believing it sometimes.
But that was how you got yourself into this predicament in the first place.
You were at a party at Chrissy’s, a celebration for the basketball team making it to the state championship. Initially you wanted to stay home, as parties were never something you enjoyed. But you knew how bad it would look if you didn’t show. So you went, swallowing your pride with a fake smile plastered across your face.
You let yourself fall into the role of the proud, doting girlfriend. You knew how to play it well, as it was second nature to you at this point.
At some point during the night Scott had pulled you into a random bedroom, with the promises of rocking your world. Those promises fell short, as they always did. Scott had you propped up on the unmade bed, gripping your hips as he pounded sloppily into you. The fake moans that left your lips somehow had convinced you both that you were enjoying yourself.
That is until the door swung open and a semi-tipsy Eddie Munson stumbled upon the scene. He was originally looking for the bathroom, much to the embarrassment of you both. You couldn’t hide the shame that flitted across your features, or stop your moans from faltering slightly.
Scott miraculously didn’t notice the intrusion as he continued to thrust into you, your fake moans continuing to fill the small bedroom. Your eyes were locked with Eddie’s as he stood frozen in the doorway. The two of you just stared at each other for a few moments, before he snapped out of whatever stupor he was in and quickly left the room.
You figured nothing would come from it, except for a new found embarrassment every time you saw him in class. But what you didn’t expect was for him to seek you out in study hall that following Monday.
You were in the library, searching for a new book to read when he cornered you. His curls were wild, that faded Hellfire shirt hugged his broad shoulders nicely. A playful smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as you tried not to stare. But those brown eyes seemed to look right through you.
“You know, I’ve seen better acting in pornos.” He spoke softly, as not to embarrass either of you.
Or to alert Ms. Hall, the school librarian.
She was such a hard ass, especially when it came to talking in the library. You had hoped that maybe Eddie would’ve been too drunk to remember what happened at the party. Or both of you would ignore the situation.
But that clearly wasn’t the case. You can feel the embarrassment coursing through you as you actively avoided his curious gaze.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Munson,” you sneer before turning on your heel, grabbing a random book off the shelf in the process.
You clutch the paperback closer to your chest as you quickly try to escape the conversation.
He doesn’t let you get very far though, trailing behind you before taking a seat next to you at one of the study tables.
“I mean it must be frustrating, faking it all the time,” he continues nonchalantly, resting a ringed hand next to yours on the table.
His fingertips drum against the faux wood, as you struggle to think of a reply. But your continued silence and flustered appearance spoke volumes as you began to fiddle with the frayed hem of your dress.
Eddie leans in closer, letting his breath fan across your face. The smell of his spicy cologne and a hint of smoke engulfs your senses, making your head spin.
He hums softly, keeping his voice low, “Just doesn’t seem fair. Any decent guy would make sure you were being treated well.”
You could feel his body heat due to the close proximity, biting your lip as you stopped yourself from leaning against him.
“He does treat me well,” you whisper back, glancing down at the book as you begin flipping through the pages.
Eddie scoffs at the notion as his hand reaches out to close the cover again. His fingertips brush against yours in the process, the small touch sending tingles down your spine.
The male glances around the mostly empty library before he leans in closer. His lips nearly graze the shell of your ear as you hold your breath in anticipation. Eddie chuckles deeply, enjoying just how flustered he’s made you.
“Well, if you want to know what it’s like to be properly taken care of…” he trails off, as you let out a shaky breath. “You know where to find me, sweetheart.”
The promise behind his words instantly makes your thighs clench together. Watching in stunned silence as he quickly gets up and strolls out of the library.
Tumblr media
Those words sat with you for days, taunting you.
Finding yourself utterly frustrated, in more ways than one. You just couldn’t shake how badly you wanted to take him up on that offer. Morally, you knew it was wrong— you had a boyfriend.
But there was something that felt so right about it.
Despite your initial reservations, you very quickly found yourself in the back of Eddie’s van. Your legs were flung over his shoulders, your fingers tangled in his curls as his tongue had you seeing stars. It became blatantly obvious from your first time together that there was no way this could be a one time thing.
So you compromised, agreeing to meet up once a week. But only on Sundays, when you could give Scott the excuse of going to church with your parents. Ironically your family was not the church going type, but your boyfriend never questioned it.
However the longer you snuck around with Eddie, the more insatiable you became. Until it was almost a daily occurrence that you were under him, begging him to show you everything you were missing out on. It had surprised the both of you, but Eddie was more than happy to oblige.
But the constant sneaking around meant you couldn’t exclusively fuck in the back of his van anymore. Causing the both of you to become more creative in the process.
More than once you’d pull him under the bleachers in the gym once basketball practice ended. His ringed fingers tangled in your hair as you dropped to your knees. Or he’d bend you over the table in the drama room after a Hellfire campaign, dice and crushed cans of Mountain Dew falling off the table with each thrust of his hips.
But it still wasn’t enough, which led you to take more drastic measures.
You were on all fours, fingers clutching your floral bed sheets as Eddie pounded into you from behind.
Your parents were gone for the weekend to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Which left you with the house all to yourself, something that didn’t happen often. So this was an opportunity you didn’t want to pass up. Dialing his number before you even got out of bed that morning.
Regardless of his not so stellar reputation, it didn’t seem to sway a lot of women in Hawkins. And despite what Scott might have told you, Eddie has had plenty of sexual partners before. As many jumped at the chance to see if the rumors about the local freak were true. Which only seemed to fuel more rumors about the metalhead.
But out of everyone he had ever slept with— you were by far the neediest of them all.
Eddie couldn’t deny that he loved it. Knowing he was the only one who could turn you into a crying, blubbering mess. Not even seemingly perfect Scotty McGuire could make you feel this way. He would pay to see the look on his face if he could see just how wrecked you were.
Tears of pleasure streaming down your cheeks as you begged the town freak to fuck you harder.
“Look at you, such a needy little slut,” he chuckles, condensation lacing his tone. “Couldn’t even wait a whole day for my cock, huh?”
Eddie was by far the biggest guy you’ve ever had, and he certainly knew how to use it. His cock reached places inside you that you didn’t know existed until now. So it was no surprise that you didn’t want to wait another day to see him again.
But deep down you knew that wasn’t the only reason you had called him over. However, you weren’t entirely ready to have that conversation with yourself yet.
“I… shit,” you mewl, finding yourself at a loss for words as he increased his pace.
Pathetic whines spill past your lips with each thrust of his hips, your walls gripping him tightly. Pleasure coursed through you as he brought you closer and closer to the edge. A mixture of your arousal and his spit was smeared across your thighs. A reminder of where he’d been slotted between them earlier.
“Aww, come on, sweetheart,” he teases, nipping at your ear as he slows to a more gradual pace. “Be a good girl and tell me who’s making you feel so good.”
The orgasm that had been building in your abdomen suddenly fizzles out as he stills his hips at your deepest point. You nearly cry out in defeat as he lands a harsh slap on your ass.
You knew the rules by now, he needed to hear you.
“Y-You… fuck you are, Eddie.” He hummed in response, guiding your hips forward.
“That’a girl.”
The drag of his cock has you whining, the sound quickly being drowned out by the phone on your bedside table. You fully intended to ignore the shrill ringing as you began grinding your ass back against him. But he grips your hips to stop any further movement.
“Answer it.”
Your eyes widen as you glance over your shoulder at him, bewilderment crossing your features. There’s a smirk playing on his lips as he lands another slap on your ass, “That wasn’t a suggestion, sweetheart.”
You quickly fumble for the phone, not wanting this to end so soon. You’d come to realize just how much Eddie enjoyed teasing you the more you slept together. But you’d had enough teasing for one day.
So you place the receiver against your ear, trying to calm your erratic breathing, “H-Hello?”
You mentally curse yourself for the way your voice shakes, feeling your stomach drop at the voice on the other end of the line.
“You alright, babe? You sound winded,” you can hear the slightest bit of suggestiveness in his tone, having to stop yourself from rolling your eyes.
This was something you’d come to expect from Scott, the male always finding a way to bring sex into every conversation. Despite knowing he was actually spot on this time, only it wasn’t your fingers that were buried inside you.
But what you didn’t anticipate was for Eddie to start thrusting back into you at a leisurely pace. You bite down onto your lower lip for a moment before you laugh, the sound not at all genuine. But Scott couldn’t tell the difference, he never paid enough attention.
“I’m great, Scott.” Your breath hitches in your throat as Eddie’s lips graze over your shoulder, “J-Just in the middle of a… workout.”
You hear Eddie laugh softly behind you, the male on the other end blissfully unaware of the kind of workout you were currently engaged in. Despite your initial reservations about answering the phone, you couldn’t deny the rush it gave you. Almost wanting to be caught like this.
“You still swinging by the party tonight?” Scott asks, as you continue to pulse around Eddie’s thick shaft.
His thrusts deepen, slipping a hand between your thighs to rub your sensitive clit. Your thoughts are completely jumbled as you try to stay engaged with the conversation. But it’s proving to be difficult.
“P-Party?” You breathe out, gripping the receiver tighter in your palm.
You can hear your boyfriend’s annoyed sigh, knowing he was rolling his eyes as your own rolled into the back of your head. Eddie grunts softly in your other ear as he rams into your sweet spot. It took every bit of your remaining self restraint to not moan directly into the phone.
“It’s Tommy’s birthday. I told you about it last week,” he huffs, clearly no longer amused.
You vaguely recall the conversation, but lately you’d found yourself tuning him out more and more. Having much more important things to occupy your attention.
“Right! No, I remember now.” Your words come out whinier than you intended, but Scott doesn’t seem to notice.
You were getting close, and Eddie knew it too.
“So? Are you coming?”
Eddie stifles another laugh at the unintended joke.
He quickly wraps his ringed fingers around the base of your throat and lifts you, so your back is now flush against his sweaty chest. The new angle allows him to slip even deeper inside, causing a gasp to escape you. You quickly disguise it as a cough, before answering your boyfriend.
“Yeah, I’ll be there. Listen, I-I gotta go. See you tonight.”
You hang up the phone before he even has a chance to respond. The loud moan that was trapped in your throat is finally set free, earning a groan from the male behind you.
Eddie’s disheveled curls began tickling your face as he leaned toward your ear again, “Bet he didn’t suspect a damn thing, huh?”
You can hear the smugness in his tone, whimpering as he puts more pressure on your clit.
“Cause he can’t make you feel the way I do. Can he, sweetheart?” You frantically nod your head before letting it fall back onto his shoulder.
You know you can’t hold out for much longer, and judging by the way his cock twitches inside you— Eddie won’t either.
His lips attach themselves to the curve of your neck, sucking harshly as you tremble in his arms.
“Ed… f-fuck I’m gonna—” you are unable to finish your thought as that familiar wave of euphoria crashes over you.
He nearly growls as you cry out his name again and again, the sound being his undoing. He spills into the condom with a grunt of your name, his chest heaving as he buries himself at your deepest point. The sounds of his erratic breathing mixes with yours, filling the now quiet space of your bedroom. Feeling utterly weak in the best way possible.
And if his arms weren’t securely wrapped around your waist, you would’ve collapsed face first into the mattress.
You stay entangled like that for a few moments while you both come down from your highs. Enjoying the way his lips press against the curve of your shoulder.
Eddie’s actions are gentle now, carefully guiding your hips up to slip out of you. He coaxes you to lay on your back, a lazy smile playing on your lips as you gazed up at him. As amazing as the sex was, what came after was just as enjoyable.
Emotionally, your boyfriend was always unavailable.
Especially after a round in the sheets, he was particularly cold. In the year you’d been together Scott had never once held you or comforted you. It always left you with an overwhelming sense of shame— of feeling used.
So naturally you had expected the same kind of treatment from Eddie, as you had never experienced aftercare before. After that first time together you had begun to put your clothes back on, attempting to leave right away.
But he stopped you with a soft, “Don’t go.”
It didn’t take much convincing as you laid your head on his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heart. He kept you tucked in his embrace for hours, fingertips dancing along your hip. From that moment on it was the same treatment. His affection only increased the more you fooled around.
Your eyes follow him as he rises from the bed to toss the condom in your trash bin. Giving Eddie the opportunity to finally take a look around your room.
You suddenly felt nervous as he made his way over to your record collection, flicking through the vinyls with the utmost care. While your popularity status had recently changed due to dating Scott, you always felt out of place amongst them. You could never be your full authentic self, in fear of rejection from your peers.
Eddie seemed to find a record that he liked, sliding it out of its sleeve and placing it on the turntable. It is quiet for a moment, the crackle of the record is almost comforting. Soon the beginning notes of the Labyrinth soundtrack fill that silence. You instantly feel shy, not expecting him to choose that album in particular.
Your boyfriend had teased you relentlessly for your love of David Bowie, always complaining about how weird he was. It made you feel ashamed to talk about any of your interests, most of which you’d hidden away in fear of being mocked.
But with that small act Eddie had proved, once again, that he was superior to Scott in every way imaginable.
He begins to hum along to the opening track, grabbing his boxers from the pile of your discarded clothes on the floor. Sliding the checkered material back over his legs, the fabric hanging low on his hips. You bite your lip as your eyes drift over his pale skin, zeroing in on the patch of hair that descended into his waistband.
“Keep giving me those eyes and we’re gonna have a problem, princess.” He teases, his smirk widening as he catches you ogling him.
You feel your body flush as he shoots you a playful wink before slipping into your adjoined bathroom. You hear the tap turn on, the rush of water mingling with the sultry baritone of Bowie’s vocals. You allow your body to relax against the mattress, a sense of calm washing over you.
Eddie wasn’t gone for long, emerging from the bathroom with a glass of water and a damp washcloth. He sets the glass on your nightstand, taking a seat on the edge of your bed. The male carefully parts your legs, pressing a kiss to your knee as he cleans up the mess of salvia and slick that has dried onto your thighs.
You let your eyes linger on his face, watching him in complete admiration. His cheeks are tinged pink, no doubt from the weight of your gaze. He’s also not used to being regarded with such gentleness.
Eddie sheepishly avoids your eyes as he stands, tossing the used cloth into your hamper. You scoot into a sitting position to take a few sips of water from the glass. Blatantly checking him out as he bends over to grab another piece of clothing from your carpeted floor.
“Arms up,” he instructs, allowing him to pull your oversized shirt over your head.
He quickly joins you again, causing a small giggle to escape you as he squeezes himself onto your twin sized mattress. The male grins, allowing you to drape your body over his. You tangle your limbs together, instinctively resting your head on his chest.
Your eyes flutter shut as you listen to the steady beat of his heart in your ear. A soft smile tugs at the corners of your mouth, feeling him press a kiss to the top of your head.
In moments like this, it was easy for you to pretend that Eddie Munson was all yours.
There were no worries about being caught, or what anyone in this god forsaken town had to say about it. But the more time you spent with him, the more you began to realize that you wanted him all to yourself.
You knew it was incredibly selfish, he didn’t deserve to be someone’s secret side piece. So you kept these newly emerging feelings to yourself.
“You feeling okay?” His voice cuts through your thoughts, lifting your head to meet his gaze. “I wasn’t too rough or anything, was I?”
Eddie’s tone was vastly different from how he’d spoken to you earlier, and yet it only made your adoration for him grow. Knowing he truly cared about your feelings, it wasn’t just a courtesy.
His hand gently caresses your sore ass, his fingertips continuing to ghost over the curve of your spine. The tenderness of his actions made you shiver as you nuzzled your face back into his chest.
“It was perfect.” You hum, voice echoing your contentment, “You were perfect.”
Gentle, rough or anything in between— you’d be grateful as long as it was with him.
You were sure he could feel the warmth that had begun to seep into your cheeks at your admission. Reaching out his hand to delicately grasp your chin, tilting your head up to meet his curious gaze.
But it wasn’t just curiosity that shone through his eyes.
There was something else. Something deeper simmering beneath the surface of his irises.
This was uncharted territory for you, as no one, not even your boyfriend had regarded you in such a way before. But that single look alone made your heart flutter rapidly against your ribs.
You both begin to lean in without realizing, lips brushing together as you cradle his jaw. This was something completely new for both of you. While you’d kissed plenty of times, it never happened after the sex ended.
This was quickly becoming a dangerous game, one neither of you had any intention of losing.
And as hard as you tried to avoid your feelings, you knew you were starting to fall for him. Which was the most dangerous game of them all.
Your lips continued to move against each other for what felt like forever, only breaking apart to catch your breath every so often. Kissing Eddie was just as addicting as every other part of him, and you never wanted it to end.
So you stayed like that for hours, stealing kisses in between gentle words. He told you about his home life with Wayne, how he’d listened and memorized every single chord of Master of Puppets until he got it right. Little things that made you understand exactly who Eddie Munson really was.
But time seemed to pass by in an instant, the evening sky bathing the walls of your room in a golden hue. A signal that it was time for him to leave.
You felt a tug on your heartstrings as you watched him slide open your bedroom window, desperately wishing the circumstances were different.
“Wait!” you call as he was already halfway through the window, flashing you a grin as you bounded over to him.
You press a searing kiss to his mouth as he cups your cheek, neither of you quite willing to be the first to pull away.
“I gotta go,” he tries to mask the disappointment in his tone, pressing one last kiss to your lips before slipping out of your window completely.
You watch as the male clumsily jumps down from the second story, his wallet chain jingling upon impact. Eddie takes a moment to steady himself before he turns back to glance up at you. Giving you a little bow before he’s off, cutting through your neighbors yard to get back to his van.
You can hear the blaring guitar of Quiet Riot as he starts up the engine, the rumble echoing in your ears as he takes off down the empty street.
Taking a little piece of your heart with him.

I love that The Ghost and Molly McGee's forced cancellation isn't just frustrating to fans of the show but to people in the animation industry as well. They're just as sick as we are about how much studios disrespect animation. They keep looking for the next Spongebob, Simspons, or goodness forbid Family Guy, but instead having faith in the creators and their content, they just...wait. They wait to make a profit and do the bare minimum to market their shows and make them available.
Let's look at Gravity Falls for example. I remember that when Gravity Falls was still airing, you would be able to find out a new episode was coming out based on coming across a commercial by random chance or by the people working the show promoting it online. Add that with the fact that it was on a different channel that required you paying MORE for your cable to get it. It WAS available through Disney Channel, a channel more available at a cheaper price, but the entire of Season Two got moved to the more expensive Disney XD, where Disney shows go to die, because...REASONS. With no warning or announcement. I think I found out about Gravity Falls moving to Disney XD because the trailer played during a commercial break. And that's just the START the show's problems. Mixed in with poor marketing, the show would have a crazy inconsistent schedule, where we'd have four episodes a week, a few months of NOTHING, a few more episodes a week, nothing for a few months, a random episode playing between that nothingness with next to no promotion, and all of that happening to the rest of the show until it finally died a slow death with its series finale where four episodes got stretched out for six months. That...is NOT okay. And it doesn't stop with Gravity Falls.
Steven Universe, OK KO, Ducktales 2017, Amphibia, The Owl House, and now Ghost and Molly McGee are all shows that had similar and sometimes WORSE treatments as Gravity Falls did, where the networks gave next to NO marketing, the creators had to promote their own shows themselves, and the airing schedules were so inconsistent with wildly long hiatuses that only the most dedicated fans were willing to keep watching. General audiences (mainly kids) weren't willing to keep up with shows that had ongoing stories if the episodes stories kept being too spaced apart and never had reruns as frequent as other shows like Teen Titans Go or Big City Greens (Or whatever's constantly on network TV nowadays. I don't know. I mostly watch shit on streaming).
The people of the animation industry is catching onto all of these tricks, and they're getting sick of it. They're getting sick of inconsistent schedules. They're getting sick of trying to bend over backwards in every possible way to make the show they wanted. By either making serialized content as episodic as possible so the network could air it more or by condensing their stories as much as they can, already expecting that forced cancellation to happen sooner than later. And in some cases, they don't even get the luxury of being told their show is ending. Did you know that Inside Job and Paranormal Park both had seasons that were already in development before Netflix pulled the plug shortly after releasing new episodes of their shows? Did you know that The Ghost and Molly McGee was already working on a Season Three before Disney shut that down so they had to force out a series finale that would still be good despite the cancellation? Because it's true. It's ALWAYS true. Creators want to make MORE, but the studios won't let them because they didn't profit off of it. Except they WOULD HAVE if they treated it better.
I want kids to grow up with characters that stick around through their childhood, just like I did with mine. I want kids to have their own Ed, Edd n Eddy, Codename: Kids Next Door, Phineas and Ferb, or Kim Possible. I want kids to watch shows that last more than two-three seasons, stick around for years, and leave an impact as if they have all the time in the world because to them, it feels like they do. I want kids to have a show that ends on a high note because the creators wanted it and not because the networks demanded it. But the unfortunate thing is that it doesn't seem possible nowadays. Because if a mostly episodic show like The Ghost and Molly McGee fails, despite being charming and inoffensive and something most kids will love, the what hope IS left.

People are joking about ABC realizing why FOX put Ryan in interview jail - Without realizing the consequences of what FOX and KR have done.
Actors don't say anything that they aren't allowed to say, that is Hollywood's iron rule when filming a project.
Whatever Ryan is saying, he was given permission to do it.
ABC sees and understands the ramification of the homophobic narrative forced on the show on FOX's network they can see the bad writing and the altogether 'don't give a fuck about this' attitude the show was getting from it's showrunners.
ABC wouldn't take something that is circling the drain just to continue with the bad form of handling the show got so far.
Now Ryan, bless him, he loves Buck and he loves Oliver and thank God he loves Eddie, he understands the character better than anyone, he also knew where it was supposed to go when Murphy first hired him.
KR taking over put a wrench in that original plan but the choices made by both writers and actors on screen showed her exactly where she could shove her heteronormative narrative.
ABC is simply amplifying the obvious cast and writers cry and giving them a safe heaven to exist in peace.
It's not for nothing that the publicity and the premiere party were this big, this is a promise to the cast and crew that they will be treated better than the crap hole FOX network treated them.
Now, I don't know what will happen, but gay storyline or not, Eddie does love Buck to the core, it doesn't have to be in a romantic sense, it can be in any way possible, that saying alone does not scream gay, everything else that happened in the story up until now, however, does.
Because in CF Severide and Casey loved each other to the core in their best friend way, Vic and Travis love each other to the core in Station 19 without there being a romantic entanglement, Gibson loved Miller until he died still managing to stay straight lol and same for Cruz and Otis in CF - both had gfs both loved each other like brothers.
Eddie loves Buck, it doesn't have to mean anything romantic unless it was played into it, 911 leaned into it and failed to follow through on FOX, I am hoping ABC gives them that last shove.
After all, ABC is the home of Station 19, Home of the beautiful Marina pair, and the first male bi-character, finally, portrayed brilliantly by Eli in S6.
So stop saying Ryan is simply burning the house down, he does better PR for this show than all the anemic interviews Oliver was instructed to give so far.
Again, not Oliver's fault, KR made him, picked her favorite and dragged him down with her kicking and screaming. Shame on her and FOX.

DECEMBER (CONTINUED..)
 “You’re kidding me.”
“I am not, Jonathan!” you hissed, looking down the hall. When there was no sign of anyone else coming out of their rooms, you continued on. “I just..left.”
“But why would you just..that doesn’t make sense! Tell me from the beginning again.”
Sighing, you sat down in the chair by the kitchen phone. It had been over an hour now of venting to Jonathan and because he’s currently hopped-up on whatever his friend Argyle supplied him, it’s taking longer to explain everything to him.
“Fine, but this is the last time.”
 “Last time, promise.”
You go over the events that happened at the end of the night you spent at Steve’s. It was a bit painful to explain it in detail again but you really needed some advice from your friend. “..And when I looked back, he was standing there. Note in hand and everything.”
“Christ.” he sighed, “And since then you two haven’t talked?”
“I called him when I got home that afternoon. Other than that we’ve been thankfully busy. Mostly just school and then work. But I’ve switched with Keith a couple of times to avoid the long hours.”
“You really know how to put on the theatrics, don’t you?”
“Seriously?” you gaped, looking at the receiver as if it insulted you and not your friend on the other line. “I’m doing anything for theatrics. I’m literally trying to get out of possibly another fight.”
“Yeah, which surely won’t happen the next time you see each other again.”
“I’m sort of hoping it'll resolve itself by then.” he went silent for a moment and you knew that he was possibly coming to his own thoughts on it. “Don’t you think?”
“I’m thinking you’re not gonna like what I have to say.”
“I’m sure I can handle it. Just give it to me.”
He sighed softly, seeming to be more nervous at your request. But he spoke up either way. “I think you’re in the wrong for asking that much from Steve.”
 “..you’re right. I’m hanging up.”
“Would you let me finish?” Jonathan chuckled before he turned serious again. “I get where you’re coming from. I know that in your head it’s just logical for the guy with no official ties there to just leave and go with you.”
 “Good, you get it.”
“But,” he continued on. “I also think it’s wrong for you to assume it'd be easy. Steve Harrington has lived in Hawkins his whole life and despite any complaining he might have done to you at some point, a small part of him is gonna be scared shitless to just leave the comforts of home.”
You frowned at your friend’s words. Hating that a small part of you felt like what you were hearing was right. “But I left home. I haven’t lived there in almost three years..”
“And I’m sure if your parents asked you to come back you’d tell them no, right?”
“I—“ the answer died on your tongue. At this point you weren’t sure what you’d actually say to a question like that. While Hawkins the place wasn’t your home, the people that inhabited it were. And you didn’t think you could give up any one of them. Especially Steve.
“I know it sucks not to have things go your way. But sometimes you gotta take the curveballs life throws at you and do something else.”
“Something else?” you frowned. “But..what about the relationship? The feelings we worked on getting out..all that was just for nothing? All because we let fear get in the way of progressing it?”
Jonathan sighed and you can practically envision him with his hand on his hips right now. “Who says you guys are supposed to progress together? What if there’s changes along the way?..Look this is definitely something you should talk to Steve about. But, if this were me in the situation. I’d just do what my heart thinks is right. Even if it’s to the disappointment of others. Just do what makes you happy, you know?”
The thought about what makes you happy was easy to answer. It was Steve. He was the only thing these days that made you the most happy. But Jonathan was right, if you truly went with what you wanted, some people along the way might get hurt.
 “Henderson? You still there?”
“I’m here I’m just..”  you sighed. You were about to ask about his thoughts on taking a gap year when the sound of a car engine cut you off. Dragging the phone and long cord with you, you peeked through the window to see Steve parking in your driveway. “Shit.” you whispered. “Can I call you back later?”
 “What? Why? Is Steve there?”
“Yes,” you muttered, looking as he seemed to be talking to himself in the car. “I think he must have heard you lecturing me.”
“Good. The two of you need to seriously sort your shit out. Anyway, Argyle is gonna come over tonight. He has this new album he wants to show me.”
“Fine, I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
“All right, sounds good. And look..just hear him out. Maybe he’s going through something we don’t know about, okay?”
The two of you muttered out a quick goodbye before dropping the phone back down. Grabbing your thick coat off the coat rack, you quickly made your way out the door. Closing it up behind you with a swift thud as Steve had just made his way out of his car.
“Oh, hey.” he said nervously. “Guess you heard me coming in.”
“Yeah.” you said plainly. “I was by the door anyway..”
The two of you slowly moved towards each other. His usually confident demeanor faltered as he approached. His eyes, usually warm when looking at you, had a dull shine. Snow crunched beneath your boots as you both met in the middle of the driveway. It made your stomach twist to know that the two of you were not only nervous but awkward with each other. Even when you hated Steve you never felt this bad.
“I missed you.” He said softly, reaching a hand out to place on your arm. “I missed you all week actually.”
“I missed you too.” you said softly, not even realizing that amidst the trouble, there was the need to see him again until he was before you now. Your eyes caught sight of a little patch of green peeking out from his shirt. Reaching forward you pull down his coat to expose the familiar tacky vest from work. “You came from work..”
He chuckled a bit, nodding his head before he unzipped his coat, exposing the rest of the vest to you.“Yeah, I did. Would have come sooner, but I was sort of building up the courage.”
That tugged at your heart a bit and you reached out to cup at his cheek. Rubbing with your thumb soothingly. “You should never be afraid to talk to me..”
He reached up to place his hand on top of yours, a small smile on his face. “Never. I’ll always want to talk to you..it was getting you to talk to me that made me nervous.”
Sighing, you look down to the ground. Not sure how the two of you were going to approach this. But things couldn’t continue this way. Turning your attention back to Steve, you give him what you hope came off as reassurance. “I’m listening..”
Changing your hand to lace together, he led you over so that the two of you could lean against your Aunt’s car. Shading you under the roof of the parking spot and also placing you closer to his side.
“I have a small confession.” he murmured, moving his other free hand into his pocket. “I did come with other intentions than just talking.”
You watched as he dug out a small box from his pocket. The size was oddly too familiar with something else but he quickly opened it up before you could question it. Peering down, you looked inside to find a beautiful gold necklace.
“Steve,” you softly gasped. “It’s not even Christmas yet.”
“Humor me.” he said before reaching in. He pulled at the chain until he was able to dangle the center of the necklace to you. A small letter ‘S’ shined back at you. Nudging at your shoulders, he gently turned you around so that he could place the necklace around your neck, quickly locking it on.
Turning back to face him, the two of you glanced down at the accessory. It was a perfect fit. And though you’ve never been one to have your boyfriend’s name be proudly displayed for others to see, the small little S made your heart beat faster.
“I've, uh, wanted to give that to you for some time now.” he said, clearing his throat. Almost nervously. “That box has been sitting in my sock drawer since the summer, honestly.”
 “The summer?” you asked, “Why?”
“Remember that night before we were stuck in the elevator?”
You couldn’t help but smile a bit at the memory. It was the night that cemented your feelings for Steve. “Yeah,” you nodded. “There was that mess on the roof, then I got upset and you came over to cheer me up..it was perfect.”
Steve smiled at that, nodding his head in agreement.
“That night changed everything for me.” He reached up to cup the side of your face, eyes boring down to yours when he suddenly turned serious. “I wanted to tell you I loved you a thousand times that night. But seeing as we weren’t there yet, I settled for trying to make a grand gesture sort of thing.”
“You’ve loved me since that night?”
“I’ve loved you since Prom, Honey.”
Your jaw slacked at the small confession. Unsure how you could have missed at all that Steve’s feelings for you had been that serious then. Prom had been the first time in months since the two of you kissed and he felt that strongly then?
His hand reached out to hold the necklace, brushing his fingers lightly over the letter before he let go. “I got this the next day. Right in Starcourt.” he said, voice tinged with some sort of fondness. “Was gonna give it to you right when you entered the store, but then..”
“I came from Billy’s attack.” you finished, reaching up to hold onto the necklace. “You wanted to give me this since then?”
“I wanted to give it to you as a way to ask you to be my girl,” he looked down at the ground sadly. “But I guess now I’m giving it to you, to ask if you’re still my girl?”
You breath hitched at his words. It would seem leaving didn’t just prevent a fight from happening, but also put in a whole new worry for Steve. “I’m always gonna be your girl, Steve.” you said softly, reaching over to grab hold of his hand.
“Then why does it feel like I’m about to lose you?”
“You don’t have to lose me, Steve.” You sighed, letting go to lean back against the car. “In fact, I think me asking you to come with me proved otherwise.”
He straightened his composer, lips pursing at your words before he glanced up at you. “I told you, I can’t go with you. Not when I feel like I still need to be here.”
“I don’t get it, Steve.” You scoffed, pushing your hair away from your face. “How can you easily give me this necklace, talk about loving me for so long only to let me leave without even thinking about coming with me.”
“I can love you and know where I want to go, Trouble. It’s pretty easy to do both things.” He frowned, crossing his arms over his chest. “What I don't get is how you can love me back but be upset that I want to stay here. Why is long distance out of the question?”
“Because long distance isn’t feasible for us, Steve!” You moved to stand before him, peering up at his face better. “How can you and I, the same two people who sneak into each other’s houses in the dead of the night, the very people who are constantly touching each other, suddenly just deal with the next four years without seeing each other.”
“We’d see each other,” he pointed. “We’d have holidays, birthdays, and surprises. There’s ways we’d work things out.”
You sighed, meeting his intense gaze. "Those are only if we even get the chance to see each other. You’re forgetting that there are going to be nights where the both of us are tired from either work or school and we wouldn’t even have the comfort of having each other.”
He shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "I know but Hawkins is... it's my home. There's something here I can't just walk away from."
“But you’re willing to walk away from us? From me?” you asked, trying to keep your voice steady from the sudden ache in your throat. “I thought we were a team. I thought we'd want the same things..”
He paced back and forth, unable to meet your gaze as he suddenly became torn. "My friends are here, my family is here.”
"Why do you insist on staying stuck in Hawkins? You have so much potential, Steve. You could go anywhere, do anything, but you're choosing not to."
The word slipped out before you could see the impact cut across Steve’s hurt face. It was the same word that Tommy had used just the other month and from Steve’s furrowed brows, you could tell it struck a nerve again.
"I'm not stuck, okay?” He gritted. “This is where I belong right now. I've got responsibilities here."
"Responsibilities? What about your own dreams, Steve? What about your future?" you pressed again, exasperated at the fact that almost a week later and he still wasn’t seeing it.
"I've got people here who rely on me here, despite what you want or think." he countered, a hint of defensiveness in his voice.
"But what about you? Have you ever thought about what you want?" you shot back, feeling the weight of the disagreement hit again.
He hesitated for a moment, eyes cast down on the ground before he could meet your gaze again. "Maybe I've never really thought about all of it. But I can't just up and leave everything behind.”
"It's not about leaving everything behind, Steve. It's about growing, exploring, finding your own path,"
There was a life for Steve outside of Hawkins. Outside of you, and though your main point was to have him explore that life with you, it was hurting to see that he didn’t want that for himself.
“Look, I know it’s new for me to not agree to what you want, but this isn’t by choice. Even when I was with Nancy, I told her the same thing. I’d stick around, make sure she was okay and work here. I wanna do that for everyone.”
Bringing up Nancy brought up a sour feeling that you shoved down. Knowing that in some way, this was Steve’s poor excuse. “I’m not Nancy Wheeler. Okay? I’m not gonna sit back and let the boy I love waste potential in a place that doesn’t deserve him.” you glared. “And in case you can’t tell, the others are all grown up now. They’re in high school, Robin is following up right after me in graduating. What happens when they’re all gone, Steve? Is that the time you figure out you wanna be with me?”
Steve circled back towards you, finger pointing over at you. “That’s not fair for you to say. You know I want you, God, it’s literally the one thing that’s been consistent since I met you. Why can’t you understand that me being here doesn’t mean I’m not with any plans of my own, huh? Why is it automatically your way or nothing?”
Tears welled up in your eyes the longer you stared at Steve. “Then tell me!” you cried out. Frustrated that you pushed him into thinking things had to go your way. “Tell me what it is you want! Because as far as I know it just sounds like excuses to not be with me!”
“I thought I made that clear a while ago. I want you, dammit!” he yelled, moving to gently place his hands on your shoulders. “Please, can we just pause this? I need some time to figure this out. Can we... can we take a break from this?"
You held your breath. Not quite ready to have Steve be so suddenly upset from all this. You couldn’t help but think back to what Jonathan warned you about. Steve wasn’t ready to leave this place. Even if you didn’t understand, it didn’t change how he felt. No matter how much you wished it would.
“What’s gonna change in the next six months, Steve? We fall even harder for each other and break up then? When are we finally gonna stop going in circles over this and realize we’re on different paths?”
“Different paths?” he asked softly, confusion over his face.
 “Yeah,” you sniffled. “Different paths..”
His jaw slacked a bit and you tried to keep your composure tough but the realization is hitting harder than you thought it would. Before you know it, your vision of Steve is suddenly blurred by your tears and you’re swaying in place to keep from running back in the house to burst into a sob.
 “Honey..”
“I think we want different things, Steve. I want to explore, grow, and I thought we'd do that together. But if you can't leave Hawkins..then I need to understand that I can't ask you to." Wiping at your eyes, your sight cleared up to catch his expression mirrored the same anguish you felt inside.“I never meant to push this choice onto you. Not when you weren’t ready. I want you to want things with me. But if you aren’t ready then I need to let you go..”
“Please,” he pleaded, “I love you.”
"I love you too," you whispered, ignoring the ice that was gripping onto your heart at the moment. "But if we keep this same argument months later..who knows what might happen. We might even grow to hate each other..”
He reached for your hand, desperation in his eyes as he pulled you closer. "We can work this out. We've been through so much worse than this."
"I know, but this is different," you said softly, pulling your hand away gently. "I feel like we both need to figure ourselves out.”
"I don't want to lose you," he pleaded, voice cracking.
"I don't want to lose you either," you admitted, tears streaming down your cheeks. "But I need to move forward. And I don’t think I can do that when I know there’s going to be pain in the future.”
He looked broken as he watched you take a step back. Hand twitching out to you before he brought it down to his side. "What... what do you want me to do?"
The words felt like knives, but they needed to be said. "I need you to let me go too, Steve..”
His eyes glistened with unshed tears, his silence speaking volumes. "So this is it?" he finally whispered. “After everything we’re just..over?”
“Please, Steve.” you pleaded softly. “Let me go too.”
his hand reached up to cup your cheek, his gaze searching into yours. "This is what you really want?" You nodded, feeling a lump form in your throat.
 "Yes."
His lips met yours in a tender, bittersweet kiss, filled with all the love, and heartache that lingered between the two of you. It was a goodbye in itself, a lingering moment that you wished would go on for an eternity.
When you pulled back, you carefully reached up to return the necklace, feeling like you were the person least deserving to wear his sign of love. But Steve quickly reached out to stop your hands. Shaking his head as he carefully readjusted it on you.
“I’m– it’s yours. Regardless if we break up or not.”
Tears welled up in your eyes as you clutched the necklace tightly. "Steve..."
"Please," he insisted softly. "You wanted me to make some decisions for myself? You keeping that is one of them.”
With a heavy heart, you watched as Steve stepped away from you. Hand reaching up to pinch at the side of his nose as he tried to conceal his emotions from coming through. It took everything in you to let him return back to his car.
You thought back to what Jonathan had said about doing what your heart thought was right. Even if it was to the disappointment of others.
Little did you know it’d be you who was disappointed in the end.

 JANUARY (THREE WEEKS LATER)
It had been a long dead night over at Family Video. The soft radio playing from the speakers was the only noise between you and Robin for the past hour. Something you were a little grateful for considering the awkwardness that came in when you first clocked in for your night shift.
It was three weeks since that night in the driveway and things within your small group of friends had turned painfully stagnant. Whether it be from your three week reclusive approach, or Steve’s avoiding one. No one knew how to handle the break up. Hell, neither one of you would so why would your friends be able to?
But along with the sadness between you and Steve came the awkwardness with Robin. Stuck between being friends with the both of you. It wasn’t until a couple of days ago that she had slipped up about knowing the details of everything that happened. Causing your walls to momentarily come up around her.
But that happened over a week ago and you were really trying not to push away one of your newer friends all because of a bad breakup. Robin was nice to you before even knowing Steve personally. So with that in mind, you tried your best the whole night to be friendlier. Or as friendly as you could be. But that didn’t mean it was going to be easy.
Robin had restocked the snacks, you organized the return tapes, and then lastly the two of you worked together to set up a promo spot for tomorrow’s movie selections, All in record timing. Once Robin noticed you were slowly opening up again, she seemed to be keen to make up for the few awkward hours before.
“I don’t know how I feel about Weird Science.” Robin sighed, looking over the stack of movies facing the door. You set down the clipboard with the list of things to order for tomorrow to go join her on the other side of the counter.
“I know. But, considering we’ve got Fright Night and Teen Wolf up, it’s at least keeping with the whole sciencey-horror theme.”
“There’s absolutely nothing horror to do with Weird Science.” Robin scoffed as she adjusted one of the boxes, scrunching her nose over at the mini poster for Teen Wolf. “Keith’s gonna kill us.”
“It can be considered scary if you’re bad at Science?” you tried, looking back over to her. She had a knowing look on her face that had your confidence in the set up crumpling. “Okay, he might. But just say I did it.”
“Right.” she snorted. “It’s not like he’d ever tell you anything anyway.”
Reaching back for the stock list, you go over all the candies once more before sighing. It’s been a slow night and you weren’t looking forward to another hour here. But this was the life of a working teen and you were oddly still putting up with it.
Robin, who was quietly tidying up around the register, suddenly let out a loud gasp. “Oh no!” she said, reaching down the counter for her bag. You quickly left the candy area to join back at her side. Looking at her worriedly.
 “What’s wrong?”
She pulled out a miniature calendar from her bag. Flipping through the pages rapidly until she landed on one with scribbled notes on it. “I completely forgot to write up the assignment needed for the Terminator’s class.”
The familiar name amused you momentarily before you glanced over her shoulder to see the circled date. “Shit.” you frowned, “How many pages do you need?”
“Just three, but I barely had my notes put together yesterday.” she looked through her bag for another notebook before flipping through them for a certain spot. “God I’m gonna have to pull an all-nighter after this.”
Glancing at your watch, you wince at the late hour. “You need more time.”
She ignored you momentarily to push back the notebook and calendar into her bag before coming back up. Biting her lip in worry. You couldn’t help but feel bad for your friend. Feeling the familiar panic of academic stress. Pushing the phone towards her, you nudge for her to take the receiver. “Call Steve to pick you up. Then at least you can get started sooner.”
“What?” she gaped, looking at the clock on the back wall. “No, I-I can’t do that! You’d be by yourself.”
“It’s fine, Robin.” you reassured her, pushing the handle into her hands. “Steve will get here fast, and you’ll at least get a big enough head start and maybe catch some hours of sleep before school.”
“No,” she shook her head. “I wouldn’t feel right leaving you by yourself. What if some creepy guy comes in and murders you?”
You stood still blinking over at her. Wondering why she’d mention something so creepy at a time like this. “Not that I needed that new fear, but I’ll be safe. I’m a big girl.” You take the base of the phone, dialing the number practically engraved in your mind before pushing it to her ear. “What I do need is for you to study. So get to begging.”
There’s a moment of worry on her face before the sound of Steve’s voice perked up through the phone. She thankfully gets the idea of you not backing down from your offer and asks Steve to come take her home. You give her a thumbs up and get the area ready to close off. Needing the distraction from the inevitable moment of seeing Steve again for the first time in days.
Robin helped too. Making sure the windows and backdoors were all checked and locked before joining you back in the front. It was only a couple of minutes before the headlights of Steve’s car shined through the store.
A part of you hated the idea of being alone. It was going to be creepy. But the sight of Steve stepping out of his car, hand combing through his lush hair, made you want more than ever for Robin to get out of here. The sound of the door ringing open snapped you into averting your gaze from the boy and you quickly meddled with the few papers in front of you to keep your focus on.
“Hey, you guys ready to go?”
“Uh, it’s just me, actually.” Robin said, grabbing her bag. “Henderson is gonna wait out till closing and for her Aunt to pick her up.”
Without even having to look up, you knew that Steve’s eyes were on you now. It was like a magnetic pull that he still had on you. But you couldn’t look up just yet. Not when you knew what kind of face he’d be giving you right now. “Is that true?” he asked softly.
“Uhh, yeah, I was gonna call her in twenty minutes and let her know.” you coughed, face down. The sound of his keys jingling was oddly loud, but not as loud as the sound of your heart beat.
Before you knew it, Steve moved to stand in front of you at the counter. Forcing you to finally make eye contact with him. His eyes were etched with the same worry that looked at you the night in your driveway. You tried not to visibly recoil from the ache that burst into your chest.
“I could come back for you.” he offered softly. A small bit of confidence in his voice.
“That’s fine, Steve. I’ll get home.”
“I’m serious,” he frowned. “I could just come back. You’d be able to close up and maybe get some–”
“NO.” you said quickly, having to physically take a step back. There’s a flicker of hurt over Steve’s face and he’s balled up the fist holding onto his keys. You can’t help but feel like how it was that second year here when you were cruel to him on purpose. Pushing him away from having still been mad at him.
You didn’t feel good then and you don’t feel good now.
“I’ll be fine,” you said more nicely after a minute of awkward silence. “You should take her home..she really needs the extra time.”
He glanced over at Robin, giving her a questioning look, but all she did was mouth a please to him before he nodded his head. Backing away from the counter almost defeatedly. “Be safe.” he said softly, shuffling over towards the front door.
Taking that as a leaving cue, Robin picked up her bag from the counter. Reaching over to place her hand over yours as she threw you a sympathetic smile. “I owe you a million for this. Call me later so I know you’re okay?”
“A million and one.” you said softly, trying to smile back. But with Steve’s presence there you’re sure it’s more wincing than you wished. “I’ll call you.” you added.
The two make their leave after that agreement. Quietly making their exit from the store while you stayed over at the counter. They quickly enter the car, leaving you and family video alone for the rest of the night.
Tumblr media
Thirty minutes later and you’re done with the store being dead. If Keith wanted to get mad at you for closing early, then he could pout about it in the office tomorrow. Right now, all you wanted was to get into your bed and try not to think about the haunting brown eyes that looked at you with such concern tonight.
Picking up the phone, you made an attempt to reach out to someone at home. But with your Aunt possibly still out and Dustin most likely hanging out with your friends, there’s no one there to answer your call. You’re suddenly filled with panic of how the hell you’re getting out of here.
A part of you thinks it might be fine to just call Steve. It’s not like he’d be upset since he was so adamant before. But even the short car ride home would be long enough for that horrible pain to come back in and you didn’t think you could handle that. Nor did you want to put Steve through that either.
Looking at your watch, you realize you’ll at least be able to make the last bus for the night if you close up now.
Rushing to the back, you make a move to grab your jacket and purse, ready to lock up and get the hell out of here. But before you could grab the keys, you could hear the sound of the door’s bell jingle.
“Dammit!” you whispered to yourself. Of course tonight you’d still have to deal with annoying customers. Turning off the light in the room, you grab the keys and slowly enter back into the front. “Uh hey, sorry but we’re actually closing up–”
The sight of an empty front desk killed off your words instantly.
“Hello?” you called out. Taking a small hesitant step, you enter the counter booth and try to peer out into the store. There isn’t a soul in the place.
Biting your lip, you reached over to the phone on the counter. Unsure of who’d you’d even cal-
 “Lovely night, isn’t it?”
You let out a small yelp, grabbing the clipboard near you and swatting it to the direction of the mysterious voice.
 “OW!”
Peeking your eyes open, you’re welcomed to the sight of Eddie rubbing the side of his head. A glare on his face as he looked over at you.
“Is that how you greet all your customers?” he chided.
Setting down the clipboard, you use your hands to lean against the counter. Getting in some air to help calm you down before you looked back up at Eddie again. This time you used your hand to slap at his arm.
“OKAY! Really?!” he asked as he moved to rub his hand.
“Yes, Eddie, really! Why the hell did you come in and scare me like that?”
“Scare you?” he scoffed. “I said it was a nice night!”
Frowning, you crossed your arms over your chest. “Oh yeah? And so sneaking up behind me as I called out to a totally empty store didn’t make you think I’d freak out?”
“I thought you’d enjoy a different kind of greeting.”
Sighing, you turned away from Eddie, ignoring his presence momentarily so that you could finish up all that you needed before you’d eventually push him out. Even if you were about to have a heart attack, you’d still make it in time to catch that bus.
“So I’m bored tonight.” Eddie yawned out, moving to stand in front of the counter before you. Unaware that you’ve moved on to closing up rather than waiting around.
“How fun.” you replied back, collecting the inventory papers together.
He tapped his hands against the counter, looking over the place before the VHS display caught his attention. “None of these go together.” he snorted, picking up one of the tapes. “Weird Science wasn’t even scary.”
“I wasn’t going for scary.” you muttered, reaching out to grab the tape from his hands to set out on the counter. “I was going for..sciencey-horror..ish.”
“Ish?” he smirked. “When did they bring in that genre?”
“They brought it in just for Family Video, didn’t you know?” you shrugged.
He reached over for the copy of Fright Night next. Reading the back description out loud to himself before his gaze returned back on you. “Got a thing for vamps?”
“Nah, but that Chris Sarandon is kinda hot.” you said quickly as you grabbed the tape and scanned it into the checkout before Eddie could change his mind. “Will that be all tonight?”
He finally caught on to how rushed you were making things. Dramatically, he spun around to look around the store as if he had a line of people waiting behind him.
“Are you trying to kick me out, Princess?”
“Yes!” you laughed, waving your hand out for him to pass over the rental fee. “If I close the store now I can catch the last bus home.”
Reaching into his pockets, he pulled out a couple of crumpled up dollar bills for you. “Why the hell are you taking the bus this late? It’s not safe.”
You want to tell him because a giant flesh monster scrunched your car up into a ball last summer. But since that wasn’t an option, you settled for the semi truthful answer. “Because I have no car and need to get home.”
He watched in silence as you flattened out the crumbled money before adding it to the registry. You noticed that he’s given more than needed and figure he’s already prepaying for his inevitable late fee.
 “So..why don’t I just give you a ride home?”
You waited until you closed the register before looking over at him. There was a bit of pink to his cheeks and you wondered how someone who had this usual odd confidence could be nervous about offering a ride.
“You know, Robin warned me about creepy guys coming in tonight.” you teased, watching as his face turned from nervous to shock.
“Offering a ride constitutes me being creepy now?”
“Probably.” you laughed as you watched Eddie cross his arms over his chest. “Besides, I wouldn’t want to be a bother to your night anyway. You were probably coming in to grab a movie and head home.”
“It’d be an honor to drive you home, Henderson. Lord knows I gotta work on doing the whole nice friend thing.”
 “Oh and we’re friends suddenly?”
 “It’s what I’d call us.”
Quickly, you closed up the computer, shutting it down so that you can end the night finally. “You kinda have to know a thing or two about each other before you can say you’re friends.” you pointed out before reaching down to grab your stuff.
“You know a lot about me.”
 “Like?”
He tapped at the cover of the tape smiling at you. “That I got a thing for vamps too.” he winked, making you roll your eyes. “Besides, what better way to get to know each other better than with a nice ride home?”
You let out a small sigh, unsure what the hell you were just about to agree to. But if he was cool enough to hang out with Dustin and his friends. Then you shouldn’t dwell too much on the simple favor. Right?
“It wouldn’t be trouble for you?”
“You’re trouble, that’s for sure.” he chuckled. “But the ride isn’t.”
The words sound all too familiar to you and you can’t help but blink a couple of times over at him. He’s not aware of the history of that nickname, and you hold back on telling him in favor of nodding your head.
“Let’s head out then.” you said instead.
The next five minutes are left with you closing up the store with Eddie closely behind you. Talking about his recent venture out to Indianapolis for the weekend and how he’s excited to finally finish up the school year, again.
Oddly, you found yourself actually enjoying his company. It was sort of light spirited and completely free of problems. Something you haven’t had in a while. The only downside was playing down events that took part in the time you’ve dealt with the upside down. Like how you became close to Nancy and Jonathan. Or why Billy’s break up with you was a bigger deal and the fight he had with Steve. Or the damn mall fire. Everything had to be vague, but Eddie didn’t seem to mind. He actually enjoyed talking less about the heavy stuff and focusing instead on the more fun.
It was nice not to really think of the stresses you were bound to have this year and focus on silly things. Like what sort of bands Eddie listened to.
“So Iron Maiden isn’t a cool rock band led by girls?”
“It’s like you’re musically inept outside of pop.” Eddie laughed as he parked his car just on the street of your house. You couldn't help but laugh at his reaction before you shrugged your shoulders.
“It’s not all pop. I like rock too.”
“Really? You like rock. Like who?”
“Joan Jett.” you said simply after thinking it over for a second. “She’s got killer makeup, great voice, good music. I love her songs. ” He raised a brow at you, almost waiting out to see if you were fibbing or not.
“She is pretty cool.” he agreed eventually before slapping gently at the wheel. “All right, that settles it. The Henderson family is officially a lot cooler than I expected.”
“Oh?” you laughed. “You’re just figuring this out now?”
“Not to mention you’re all so humble too.”
You playfully slapped his shoulder. “Don’t you forget it.” you smirked, reaching down to grab your bag from the floor. “Thank you for the ride and music lesson. I guess that means people from the Munson family are a lot nicer than I expected.”
“Ahh, that stings a little.” he laughed, shaking his head. “But honestly, I think you should just say that the Munson family are nice to people like you.”
“People like me?” you frowned, unsure what he meant exactly by that. “Care to elaborate?”
“I would,” he said as he glanced towards your driveway. “But it’s late and a gentleman should never keep a lady from getting some sleep.”
 “Suddenly you’re a gentleman?”
“Get out of my van.” he deadpanned, waving you off. “Here I am trying to charm you and you’re throwing me off with your quips.”
With a giggle you climbed down from the seat, ready to close the door after you when suddenly a thought came into mind. “Maybe we can hang out again?” you said softly, unsure of where you were going with this offer. “You can tell me what kind of person I’m like and maybe show me more of those groups you wouldn’t shut up about?”
Eddie’s chest rose as he quickly sucked in some air. His brown eyes widened in shock before he quickly changed his face back to his familiar smile. “And you’d be okay hanging out with a creep like me?”
 “Wouldn’t be my first time.”
He seemed to question that answer before he shrugged his shoulders. “You got a deal. I’ll uh, see you soon then.” He held up the VHS tape with a small smile. “That is if Chris Sarandon doesn’t get me.”
“Oh that’s terrible.” You laughed, finding humor in his cheesy words. But instead of being embarrassed, he only grinned wider. Like that was the reaction he was looking for.
“As long as it’s gotcha laughing.” He winked before changing the gear in his car. “Till next time, Princess!”
You waved him off, waiting until he was turned around and back on the street before making your way up the driveway to your house. It’s odd but you found that you’re smiling genuinely about something for the first time in weeks. And it’s because of Eddie Munson of all people. Making a new friend must have been the thing you needed right now. Especially when you thought about how much you’d be laughing when you got to hang out with him again.
“Your Aunt’s car looks a lot like Eddie Munson’s van.” said a voice suddenly, disrupting your thoughts.
It scared you a bit. Causing you to let out a small gasp as your head snapped towards the direction of the noise.
At your house stood Steve. Back resting against the front door with his head hung to keep his gaze downward and off from you. The gravel beneath your feet was the only noise as you slowly made your way over.
“What are you doing here?” you asked slightly out of breath. Your composure was calm but the sight of Steve standing there had you feeling anxious.
“I drove by your house and noticed no one was home..was worried you’d still be stuck at the store.”
 “Oh.”
He pushed himself off the wall, closing the rest of the gap that kept you two apart. On his face was a look you weren’t quite place. Was it anger? Disappointment? Worry? Jealousy?
“I could’ve come back for you.”
“Steve..” you sighed. He held up a hand, shaking his head as he seemingly tried to calm himself down.
“We wouldn’t have had to talk. It could have been just a ride. You’d have never needed to talk to Eddie Munson or get a ride from him.”
There’s a hint of disdain the way he dragged out Eddie’s name and you couldn’t help but sigh again. This was something you had worried about when Dustin had started to hang out with Eddie. The two were close these days. With how long that ridiculous game took, it’d be crazy for them to not have bonded by now. And while you knew deep down that your cousin could hold strong friendships with everyone. Steve did not.
For a short while, Dustin was the closest thing he had to a best friend before Robin came into the picture. But the very idea of Steve hating a simple ride from Eddie threw you off.
“He came to rent a movie right when I tried calling home. Okay?” you crossed your arms, tilting your head a bit. “He’s a nice guy..he offered the ride when I told him I didn’t have a car.”
“But I could have come. I would have.”
“I didn’t want you to come.” You said slowly watching again as the bitter truth caused the hurt cut across Steve’s face. “We haven’t been alone in weeks. The silence would only make things..painful.”
His head dropped quickly to look back to the ground while you wrapped your arms around yourself. This wasn’t the kind of shit you wanted to add to Steve’s list of problems. The break up was hard..period. But no matter how you go about things, you can’t stop this pain from coming in.
“I just wanted to make sure you were safe..”
 “I know..thank you.”
He looked back up and raised a hand. Almost like he was going to reach out for you. And while you were dying to feel the touch of his skin again, doing that would probably only make things harder on the two of you. So without another thought, you took a step back from him.
His hand dropped quickly, stuffing into his pocket while he covered up his face with his other hand. Rubbing at the corners of his nose before he turned his gaze back towards the road. There was a glazed sort of look in his eyes.
“Right, so you’re here. I’ll just uh, head back home.”
You’re about to nod your head, but Steve didn’t even get the chance to see as he quickly turned and dashed away from your side. Moving towards the direction of the driveway. The sight of his retreating figure only hurt your chest even more as your thoughts were plagued with all the things he must be thinking right now.
The night of Tina’s Halloween party came into mind. The way he looked driving you home after hearing the truth from Nancy’s drunken confession. Before you know it, you’re chasing after him.
“Steve?” you called out when you reached close to his backside. He spun around quickly, almost bumping into you and causing you to fall back. But he quickly reached out to catch you. Cradling you close to his side until you were able to get your footing right.
“Are you alright?” He asked, checking over you before he let go. His eyes were red and even if it weren’t cold you’d know it was from how he was probably feeling right now.
Reaching out, you couldn’t help but cup at his cheek. Watching as his eyes slipped close from the relaxing touch. It’s been weeks since either of you have been able to share this kind of comfort. An intimate moment that you shouldn’t be having with him. Not when things were already so hard. But just because things were over doesn’t mean the need to make sure Steve was okay could go away so easily. Especially when in moments like this, when he still meant the world to you.
“I need time.” you said quickly, ignoring the worried voice in your head.
“Time?” he asked softly, eyes opening slowly to look down at you. The pad of your thumb brushed over his cheek and you could feel the warmth underneath. Your mind replays a supercut of all the moments you’ve felt that cheek. Kissing, against your own, against your body.
God this was a mess. You were a mess.
“I need time to feel comfortable around you again..I need to get over you, Steve. But I can’t do that if you’re still trying to be my hero..”
“Hero.” he chuckled sadly, shaking his head from your gip. The brim of his eyes were red and he looked suddenly tired. “Never really did a good job of that, huh? Guess I’m supposed to be just your coworker now?”
For a second you couldn’t speak. Only shaking your head no as you tried to reassure him that what he was thinking wasn’t true. He was everything to you. He could never be anything as casual as a coworker. But at the moment, you didn’t know what you could call Steve. He wasn’t your boyfriend, nor your enemy, and friend felt wrong.
 “You’re just..Steve.”
His throat bobbed. Like that was the worst answer he was expecting. And though you wanted to reach out again and pull him close, you couldn’t. Because this was just how things had to be. Just the two of you stuck in this limbo of love and loss.
“Right,” he said after a minute. “Just..Steve.”
You opened your mouth, ready to apologize if what you said came off worse than you thought. But Steve quickly caught onto that and held a hand up, waving you off a bit. “I get it.” he said a bit curtly. “I’ll see you around, Hone–Troub– Henderson.”
Again he’s gone from your side without a proper look at your reaction. He practically sprinted over to his car across the street, not once turning back. It was only a second after he pushed himself into his seat that his car was revving to life and leaving the block.
You waited out until you couldn’t see the taillights of his car before you forced yourself inside the house.
The usual warmth of your home wasn’t welcoming at all. All it reminded you was how cold you were feeling and no matter what, nothing could thaw out this permafrost that surrounded your heart. The empty house taunted you with the loneliness you were feeling.
That’s because you’re alone now. (Tick)
“I’m not alone.” you whispered softly, making your way to your room.
 You will be. (Tock)

 FEBRUARY (VALENTINE’S DAY)
It’s four weeks after that night in front of your house that you found yourself with Eddie Munson again. The two of you have changed simple hang outs into make outs, then into something else you couldn’t quite place. This night in particular, you found yourself knocking on his trailer door after work.
 “Fuck, don’t stop.” Eddie groaned.
The two of you were sitting on the dingy couch. Some loud tv show playing in the background as you straddled Eddie’s strong thigh. It’s been like this for a while now. What was originally just a chance to makeout with someone you trusted on Valentine’s day. Turned into Eddie flirting with you and you eventually feeling the need to make up for his lack of dating life.
It was Valentine’s day and you had unfortunately worked the night shift over at Family Video. Something you would have been pissed about last year. But considering the current changes in your love life, you didn’t have the room to be too upset. Especially when you found out you worked with Robin. That gave the two of you five hours to complain about how complicated love was.
Kind of like how your relationship with Eddie had turned from friends to..complicated.
“God, you’re so whiny.” you smirked, pausing the movements of your hands. You glanced down to his lap, getting another look at the size of Eddie’s cock. It was red and hard against the base of his stomach. Weeping from the tip from the few strokes you had given him. It was only the second time you’ve done this with Eddie and you’re still stunned by how he gets from a simple handjob.
“Shut up.” he gritted, letting his head sag back against the couch. “If you’d have any idea how good you are at this, you’d be just as desperate too.” The ego boost does something to you, and you quickly lean in to press your lips roughly against his. Causing the boy to let out a loud groan before he fought back.
The kiss was so different from your past boyfriends. Billy had always been so dominant, taking what he wanted without thinking too much if you liked it or not. Steve’s was sweet, hot, and romantic. As if it were the last kiss on Earth. And Eddie’s was fierce. Like he wanted you to remember him hours later.
The tip of his tongue poked through your lips, brushing against yours as he deepened the kiss. His hand went down from your neck to grab at your hips. Pulling you closer into his lap. It made your head spin a bit but you pulled back enough to tighten your grip around his cock. Picking up the pace with your wrist. During times like this, Eddie never lasted long. He was already riding high from just kissing, and with the added teasing he’d never make it long.
His other arm moved to grip at your thigh. Digging his fingers with every jerk that his hips gave as he reached closer to his climax. He jerked his leg up, giving you a slight sensation between your legs as you straddled him. While small, the touch was stimulating enough to have your eyes fluttering a bit. It’s been a while since you’ve really let anyone get you this aroused but you’re finding it hard not to roll your hips.
“That is, princess.” he cooed, making your face get a hot flush. “Let me make you feel good.”
The dirty words had your head spinning a bit and you pulled back enough to stick your face into his neck. Sucking lightly against the vein on his neck while continuing to jerk your wrist. Eddie’s breathing began to grow louder.
“Yes, fuck, please don’t stop.” Eddie rasped, letting the wrecked voice send a chill up your back. It pleased you to know you had this boy at the mercy of your hands. Moving your hand and wrist faster now in order to work him over. You made sure to use your long nails at the sensitive skin of his cock, causing Eddie to whimper whenever it was dragged closer to his slit.
He moved to rest his face against your neck, pressing soft kisses at your skin while his other hand moved to cup at your breast. The only material keeping him from touching your warm skin being the bra you managed to keep on during his fondling earlier.
The gentle squeezing plus the ridge on his thigh you were rolling on hit just the right spot to have you letting out a moan yourself. Unfortunately, with how close Eddie was, there wasn’t going to be a chance for you to come with him.
“Come for me, Ed.” you whispered into his ear, another shudder falling from him. Stopping your rolling, you gave the base of his cock one good squeeze before jerking at a quicker pace.
The base of his member twitched in your hands and when Eddie let go of your breast, you watched in awe as he gripped to your hips, focusing down at your movements before he let out a loud guttural moan.
Ropes of white hot cum began to shoot out from the slit of his cock, coating your hand as you carefully continued with the jerking motion. It wasn’t until you watched as Eddie’s head fell back from ecstasy that you gently let go of him.
The mess before you doesn’t help with your sudden unattended arousal, but you remove yourself anyway. Quietly letting him know you were going to clean yourself off. The water quickly washed away all the remnants of your night and you quickly glanced up to fix up your appearance. The sight of your necklace quickly stole your attention.
The small single ‘S’ sitting on the middle of your chest brought a pang of guilt to your chest. You hadn’t taken off the necklace since the night Steve gave it to you. Something that was probably wrong considering what you were just doing with Eddie. But wearing it brought you a sense of comfort that you couldn’t bring yourself to give up.
After you got yourself together, you emerged from the bathroom to find Eddie was still on the couch. He was tucked back in his pants but still with the belt unbuckled as he continued to catch his breath. A small snicker fell past your lips and you quickly covered your mouth when his eyes turned to look over at you.
“It’s not funny.” he frowned, trying not to smile at your amusement. “I’m literally a mess and you’re looking over at me with that goofy grin on your face.”
“My face is never goofy.” you said as a matter of fact, hand reaching up to gently hold onto the necklace. “If anything, it’s your position that’s goofy.”
Eddie held a hand up, pretending to mimic your voice through his hand while you moved towards the couch. It was a struggle to find your sweater amongst the mess of the room, especially when you just threw it behind you earlier. But before you could bend over to pick up the item, Eddie had climbed up from the couch to you.
Placing his hands gently at your hips so that he could have you face him. “Let me make you feel good, Princess. I know you didn’t get to come.” he said softly, rubbing his thumbs on the bare expanse of your stomach.
It hurt to look up into Eddie’s eyes. They were warm and so full of a genuine interest in you. Like you were the only person he cared to look at. It made moments like this confusing. Where your mind knew that this would make you feel right and move on, but something in your heart made it hard to follow through it.
Letting go of the necklace, you reached out to cup the side of Eddie’s face. Letting your thumb brush across the apple of his cheek before you gently pressed a kiss. “I’m fine.” you said softly, getting out of his grip to reach for the sweater. From the side of your eyes, you could see that Eddie was watching you as you pulled the material over your head.
From his calmness you knew where this conversation was going to go. It’s not the first time Eddie’s pointed out an offer nor would it likely be his last.
“Hey,” he coughed softly, shuffling awkwardly closer so he could rest a hand against your arm. “I didn’t mean to put you off.” Calmly you moved over to place yours on top, rubbing soothingly in hopes to get that worried look off his face.
“It’s okay.” you said softly, not really having the courage to tell him what you were thinking. “Like I said, I’m fine with what we’re doing now.”
Eddie reached out and gently brushed a hair away from your face. “Are you?” he asked slowly. “Or..are you I don’t know, nervous? I mean shit, I’m more than grateful for what we do now..and labels are shit. But if you’re wanting to be something more official in order to feel comfortable doing more then I’m more than happy to–”
“I like us being friends, Eddie.” you cut in. Scared for what words might come out next. You weren’t ready for that kind of talk. “Even if what we’re doing is not the most normal thing friends do. I like just hanging out and having fun.”
There’s a flicker of something in Eddie’s eyes. Like he might have wanted a different answer. But he threw you his signature goofy smile and leaned in to press a mushy, rough kiss to your lips. Causing you to laugh against his hold.
“Sounds good to me, Princess. Now I’ve kept you stuck in this dump long enough. You should probably head off home.”
You turned your watch over, noting that while it was a little bit late, it wasn’t the worst you’ve come home at. But since Eddie’s Uncle might be coming home soon, it’d probably be easier to leave now than stick around and dance around the friends with semi benefits relationship.
“I’ll see you later, Eddie. You rest up.” you smiled, taking a step back from him. He chuckled at that, waving you off as you quickly made your way out the trailer door. The residents of Forest Hills trailer park were quiet that night. A dark and eerie chill going up your spine as you made your way over to your Aunt’s car. Across the way you glanced towards Max’s trailer.
The majority of her lights were all off aside from one flickering light from the main front window. Things had been rough for her lately. Ever since her stepdad took off and her Mother started working two jobs just to keep a roof over their heads. Things haven’t been the easiest. Especially with the sudden downsizing in lifestyle.
You wished you could make things easier. But honestly, you didn’t have much you could say to Max that you thought would make her feel better. The events of the summer battle caught up to her and she began to close everyone off. Including you.
She was protecting herself from others. Every approach was met with a cold wall that you couldn’t crack. No matter what you or her friends did, she was a different girl now. She was here in Hawkins but her mind was somewhere else. And if you were being honest, you’d say that you were starting to feel the same.
Your mind was busy focusing on other things like school, work, and your new thing with Eddie. But your heart wasn’t in it. Not the way it should be. It was permanently stuck in a loop of being unable to enjoy the new life you were making for yourself. All because of a boy in Loch Nora who still had power over it.
Which was where you were now.
Through the lush houses of the neighborhood and up the driveaway of the path that led to the Harrington household. You’ve been there so many times, but for the first ever you’re nervous to be there. You shouldn’t be here.
And you definitely shouldn’t be getting out of the car to walk to the front door. And you really shouldn’t be knocking..
It only took Steve about a minute to come up to the door. He was more cleaned up since the last time you saw him. His hair was a little shorter, and there was a noticeable little bit of stubble on his lips. Almost like he’s debating whether or not to grow a mustache or not. It’s kind of nice..
“Hey, you okay?” Steve asked worriedly. His brown eyes looked over your body, almost like he was checking to make sure you weren’t hurt. It was a little embarrassing. You didn’t mean to make him come down to the door, let alone be suddenly worried about you.
“I’m sorry…I just ended up here.” you whispered finally. Not really able to think of a better excuse to say. “I should go.”
He quickly stopped you by reaching out for your hand. It’s almost like an electric shock to have such contact from him again but you don’t dare let go of his warmth just yet.
 “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” you shook your head. “I just wanted to–”
 “See me?” He asked softly.
You look at him for a long time. Feeling such an overwhelming amount of unsurety. Steve was someone who managed to wedge himself into your trust again. He earned it. But right now you were finding yourself struggling to be fully open to him. The thoughts running through your head were leading to a place where you two couldn’t go down. Not when things were so different now.
“It’s Valentine’s day,” you said lamely, wincing a bit at the dumb words that quickly came into mind. “D-did you go out?..”
“You drove all the way over to my house to ask me that?”
“..yes.” you lied, not needing him to know it was more like an impulsive need to see him tonight than some random inquiry.
Steve looked a little bit taken back. Probably not quite believing the answer, but eventually went ahead and nodded his head. “Yeah,” he said honestly, to your heart’s dismay. “Uh, with Molly Stevens. I knew her from school last year.”
Nodding your head, you tried to control the jealousy that started to fill up in your throat. You have absolutely no right to feel this way about Steve. None whatsoever. But the very idea of him out with another girl brought up such a venom to your throat.
“Did you guys..” you waved your arms in front of you in a mindless motion. Stupidly unable to speak the words you’re dreading to hear. Steve looked only slightly amused as he crossed his arms over his chest like he’s caught you in your lie. The dark green shirt looked tight on his biceps, distracting you from that fact very quickly.
“No.” he answered simply. “Didn’t feel right.”
“Right.” you nodded, letting out a small sigh of relief. “That’s um..good. I mean, not good but it’s um—“
“And what about you?” He interrupted, raising a brow to you. “Did you go out?”
 “I worked tonight..”
He turned his wrist over, frowning down at the time his watch displayed to him. “It’s eleven thirty. Store closed at ten.”
“I may have..gone to hang out with a friend.”
 “With Eddie.” he corrected.
 “Yes.”
His lips pursed a bit before he took a step closer to you. Pushing your back to rest against the threshold of his door. “And did you guys..?”
“No, not that.” You said evenly, gauging his reaction. “..but something like it.”
For a moment Steve looked stunned. Like the words froze him in place. Now that previous venom is turning into guilt. He didn’t even do anything besides go out on an innocent date and here you were ready to burn Hawkins to find her. Meanwhile you were the one actually doing more with another guy.
For someone that didn’t want to hurt Steve, you sure did so easily.
“I’m sorry.. I should go.” You whispered, feeling like you’ve put the guy through enough as of lately. Before you could fully turn around Steve had already reached out for your hand, keeping you in place.
The look on his face isn’t the same sad one you saw flicker moments before. It was determined now. Like he was fully trying to understand what you were saying before him. Carefully, he leaned down to press his face inches before yours. The small fan of his sigh brushed over your face.
The closeness should make you nervous. It should make you want to step back. But you’re curious to what he would say next.
“So you mess around with Munson and still end up at my doorstep?” He asked softly. There’s a slight darkness in his tone that should warn you how bad an idea this is. But again, you ignored it. “Did he not make you feel good?”
“He made me feel..fine.” you whispered back. Not sure how much you want to deep dive into whatever it is you and Eddie were doing. Turning your head up a bit, you peered up at him, placing your hand to rest gently on Steve’s chest to both keep him from getting closer and to get a chance to feel his heartbeat.
 “Just fine? Not good?”
“Steve,” you sighed. “We shouldn’t be talking about this.”
But your words only encouraged him to pull you inside of his home. Keeping an arm hugging at the side of your waist as he pressed your back against the closed door. The personal space is gone out the window now that he’s able to wedge himself between your legs.
It’s painfully embarrassing how your body is instinctively trying to wrap around him. But you managed to keep your flat back against the door and legs unwrapped from his waist. But Steve seemed to be aware of your inner dilemma, moving to press himself even closer.
“He doesn’t make you feel good, honey?” He said finally, moving his face down your face to your neck.
The old nickname had your body shuddering. It’s been too long since you’ve heard it. This was definitely not the way you thought the conversation would go. But you’re struggling to find a way out of it.
“What I’m feeling isn’t your concern anymore..”
“Oh, it definitely is”. His hand slid down your waist, down to your hip, the tip of his fingers nearly diving past the waistband of your jeans. He casually rubbed his thumb underneath the hem of your shirt. “I want you feeling better than just fine.”
“Yeah?” you asked softly, moving your hands to place against his shoulders now. They were itching to wrap around his neck, but you reminded yourself to keep from making things messier. Not that Steve seemed to care as he slid closer into the small space you had before.
“I want you to feel great.” he leaned down to your ear, pressing a kiss to the spot beneath your earlobe before he finished. “Actually, I want you feeling so fucked out of your mind that you wouldn’t dare go to another man’s house after fooling around with me.”
There’s a darkness in Steve’s words but not one you’re afraid of. In fact, you’re excited. It had your heart racing and core growing so hot that you had to slightly rub your thighs together from the excitement. “Is t-that all?” you managed to ask, unable to think of a better response.
“That's all I want right now.”
It’s hard not to feel that familiar spark that fires up your body when around Steve. You were feeling embarrassingly desperate for it at this point as you pulled him down towards you. “We shouldn’t be doing this. We’re broken up for a reason..”
“It’s a bad idea.” he agreed, brushing his lips carefully down your neck. He seemed to catch the sparkle of the gold chain around your neck and followed down the line to where the S laid on your chest. He then gently placed a soft kiss against it.
“We’re being so incredibly stupid right now.” you gasped, feeling his lips graze up again.
Though the tender touches were setting a blaze to your skin, it wasn’t quite satisfying the ache growing inside of you now. In fact, it was setting your whole body into a desperate, needy, frenzy.
“I gotta be honest with you, baby.” He said calmly.
“Honest?” you gulped, failing to get yourself to cool down.
“I really don’t care if we’re being stupid.”
Something took over you and you moved your hands up to grab hold of the hair at the nape of his neck. Pulling back so that you could get a good look at him. The browns in his eyes were gone and he looked at you with such a desire that you could feel yourself get embarrassingly aroused.
You should stop this. You should push him away and leave his house. Because there had to be something more important in life than having sex with Steve Harrington right now.
But you really couldn’t remember what.
“Fuck it.” You sighed shooting forward to press your lips against his. He didn’t waste his chance at all and wrapped his arms around. Using the palms to push down your lower back to press your chest closer to him.
At some point there’s a struggle with moving past the door and breaking the kiss apart. When air was needed, Steve quickly pulled back, pressing quick pecks to your lips before he turned to drag you up the stairs. Each step had your heart beating faster as you focused your sights on the warm glow coming out his bedroom door. Anticipation washing over you for whatever was going to happen next.
Once the two of you were in, he quickly shut the door behind him with the kick of his foot. Only giving you a second to catch your breath before he rushed over to capture your lips again.
“Tell me,” he said against your lips. His hands were already working on your clothes, shedding them off with no problem. “Tell me you want this.”
“I want this.” you said pulling back, moving to cup the sides of his face. “I want you.”
For a second it looked like Steve wanted to say something else, but you pushed to press your lips back together. Capturing up any words he had in order to get back into the greedy need that had been building up.
Then after that, there’s nothing else left. Just you and Steve.
Tumblr media
The clock besides Steve’s bed ticked softly as you lay in his arms. It’s only been a short amount of time since the two of you had your fun and you can feel how Steve is easily relaxed against you. Letting his hands rub over your bare skin while he held you close.
It should make you worried. Things between you two were over. You both made it that way. But the soft kisses he was pressing against your arm and neck were too distracting. The feeling of completeness was too good to give up so quickly. And with the way Steve keeps pausing to give you looks, you think he might be thinking the same.
What could either one of you do? It’s been such a long attempt to get over him but all you can feel is yourself falling again with every touch. If anything, you think you might be even more in love with him after this.
You think back to the night where Eddie dropped you off. It felt like Steve was done with you. But like yourself, one night of giving into each other’s needs seemed to fill you both with an urge neither of you could quite get rid of just yet.
His hand reached out to cup at the side of your face. Bringing your attention back to him again before he kissed you.
“Stay.” he said in between kissing you and down your cheek. No part of your face or body was left unscathed from his pink plump lips. You reveled in the sensation. Melting into his hold and allowing your body to relax again. It’s all you’ve missed these past few weeks. But even in Steve’s affection care, the worry of the real world sets in quickly with you.
“I can’t.” You said sadly. “It’s getting late.”
“Who cares? It’s Friday night.” he replied, kissing even more now that he realized it has some sort of effect on your emotions. “You don’t even work tomorrow, I do.”
“Your parents will be home soon, won’t they?”
“They love you. Might even wanna take you out for breakfast.” You pulled back to give him a knowing look. He smirked a little bit before he rolled his eyes. “Okay, they’d freak out, but we’ll be quiet.”
“I drove in my Aunt’s car..” you laughed, but turned to shuffle closer to him in the bed. He reached over to grab the back of your leg, moving your thigh now to drape over his waist. It brought your bare body dangerously close to his but he kept things tame for now. Moving to rub the palm of his hand on the round of your behind.
 “She can get it towed.”
Rolling your eyes at his convenient answer, you pushed at his chest lightly. Attempting to get out of his warm hold but he changed to bring his arm back up to wrap around your waist, locking you in place.
 “I’ll call the shop myself.”
 “Steve..”
Not wanting you to continue with the inevitable truth, he pressed his lips back onto yours. Shutting up the conversation and forcing you both to enjoy this fluke of a night. You give in to him, if only for a moment.
It’s unfair how this is the most comfortable you’ve felt in days and it’s because you’re in his arms. But as soon as you begin to wonder why it’s like this, you remember how it felt to be in his arms that night. And how incredibly crushing it felt when you pulled away. So you made the kiss count until you eventually pulled away.
His lips turned down into a pout. Which you forced yourself to ignore as you rolled out of the bed. A shiver hitting over yourself when you left the comforts of his warm side. Reaching down on the ground, you gather up the forgotten pieces of clothing you two discarded when you came into the room.
By the time you’ve got your outfit presentable and ready to go, Steve has moved to sit on the edge of his bed. Only a pair of boxers covering up his body now. He extended a hand out to you and you find yourself easily slipping it inside his. You hate how it feels perfect there.
“I want you..” He said, low and soft. Like he was almost afraid to say the words out loud.
“I know,” you sighed, pulling the hand up towards your lips to press gentle kisses at his fingertips. “You always wanna go again.”
A frown flickered over his face, like he wasn’t quite looking for that answer. But he doesn’t say anything else, choosing instead to take your hand and lead you out the room and back downstairs to the front door again.
“Can I ask you something?” He asked nervously once the two of you were at the threshold.
 “Yeah, of course.”
He paused for a second, looking deep into your eyes before he spoke again. “Did you come over on the pretense of having sex? Or because you really wanted to see me?”
A small pang of guilt began to build up in your chest again tonight. Reaching for his hand, you reached out to place it against your chest. Almost hoping that he’d feel the sincerity of your words through your heartbeat.
“I was thinking about you on the drive home.” you said trying not to reveal just how much you were actually thinking about him. He didn’t know the pathetic way you were still in love with him. “I didn’t even realize I had shown up here until I was at your door. It was like I needed to see you tonight.”
A small creeped on his face at your reply. He took the words as permission to press his lips against yours once more. Like always, it made your mind foggy and breath short. “Then tell your thoughts to think of me again tomorrow? Maybe after work?” he said, pulling away to return his gaze.
You should say no and remind him that tonight was a fluke. A misstep on your attempts to move on from each other. But your body is unwilling to listen to your logic and instead chooses to nod your head. Making Steve’s small smile turn into a grin that has you trying to remember when was the last time you saw it.
“Goodnight, Trouble.” He said softly, holding the door open for you.
“Goodnight.” You mumbled still a bit love-struck.
He waited at the door until you were in your car and waving off. The enticing view of Steve’s house eventually faded and you managed to get your brain working again in order to get home. The tv is playing some romance film for your Aunt and you bashfully wish her a goodnight as you floated to your bedroom. Still on the Steve induced high. It wasn’t until you flopped over your bed, brushing your fingertips over your kissed lips that Dustin decided to come in. A similar goofy grin on his face as he held out a Hershey’s kiss to you.
 “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
“You’re in a good mood.” You snorted, taking the candy. “What were you up to tonight?”
“Just got off the radio with Suzie.” He said with a dreamlike sigh. “She read out sonnets to me.”
“That’s sweet. You rode all the way up to that hill to talk to her?”
“Hill?” He snorted before he remembered. “Oh! That hill. No, Steve spent most of the night helping me set up this new ham radio in my room.”
You shot up from your bed, looking at your cousin with a confused frown. “Wait, Steve was here?” You asked. “In our house?”
“Yeah,” he confirmed. “He came around the time you left for work. Hung out with me all night until like an hour and a half ago. Didn’t even get to thank him before he dashed out of here.”
Your mind was suddenly wrecked with a thousand thoughts. Why would Steve lie about going out? Why would he invite you in after hearing about Eddie? He didn’t have to lie about going out on a date, not with you. It’s not like you’d have judged him for taking things slow. Lord know you didn’t have the right to. Was he waiting to see if you’d come home from work all this time? Did he know you’d go to his house? So many questions without any chance of an answer came to you.
“That was really nice of him...” you said softly, looking down at the candy.
“Yup. That’s Steve for ya.” he replied matter of fact. “Makes you maybe wanna consider things, right?”
Dustin’s attempt to mend the two of you hasn’t gone unnoticed these past couple of weeks. He wasn’t too aware of all the details. You and Steve never dived into it with him. Not wanting to ruin the relationship with the boy for either one of you. He was uncharacteristically neutral for the most part, but you knew that he was secretly hoping for some sort of reconciliation.
“Goodnight, Dustin.” you said instead, cutting the conversation short. He let out a big sigh before nodding his head, waving over at you before he closed up the door behind him. You kicked off your shoes, laying back onto your bed with only one thought running through your mind.
What were you going to wear tomorrow night?

A/N: HI GUYS I MISSED YOU. So sorry for the long awaited update. I struggled so hard to make this break up real but also angsty and drama filled? I don’t feel too confident in it, but there’s so much left in the season to work with so I hope you guys enjoy this.

Things in Stranger Things season 4 (Volume 2) which did not make sense, were forgotten or simply pissed me off.
❗️Spoilers obviously❗️
The whole town was convinced that there was a cult going on and people got up looking for Eddie and seemingly the rest of Hellfire Club because they were convinced it was a cult. Did they just give up? They never showed up again. Also the parents didn't bring this up at the end when everyone was reunited.
Why did Mike believe that the painting was for him and El when he clearly read the letter that said Will was painting it for someone he likes. Additionally, how the fuck did Mike not notice his supposed "best friend" sobbing in the car right next to him? You can clearly see him look in Will's direction but he just doesn't do anything.
Is the police just... dead? Where are they? Why are they not actively going after Jason's crew
Where is Owen? Is he alive? Why did he say that he could get El back in Hawkins in 2 hours tops if the Cali crew said it would take all night to get back, was he gonna call a private jet or something??
Where is the military? They went to that lab and then were never heard of again.
When Nancy was Vecna'd, she was in the laboratory. Why???? She had nothing to do with that place. Why wasn't she robbed from facing her own fears and traumas at the start of volume 2? Also when she got stuck in front of those doors which were blocked off by planks, they were push doors. Why did she rip off all of those planks if she could've just pushed the door and crawled in between those planks. Maybe I'm getting something wrong here but that just seems like such a hard thing to miss while writing the script...
Why did only Jason and his buddy go to Lucas and Erica when he had a whole team? Were the other guys just watching tv?
Vecna survived being transported to another reality and being hit by lightening so much that his skin peeled off, but can't handle Steve and Robin throwing a molotov at him? Or a shotgun? Really?
Did they leave Eddie's body in the upside down? Why is nobody mourning him besides his uncle and Dustin? I thought Mike, Lucas, Steve, Nancy, Robin and even Erica cared.
So El can bring people back from the dead now? That's not telekinesis, that's Mary Sue magic. What's next? She can share her powers with anyone she wants and then they can make people fly with the jerk of a wrist?
We still don't know why the upside down is stuck on the moment Will was taken. With the way this was brought up in volume 1 it really seemed like this would be answered in volume 2. But of course not, because Will Byers just kept getting sidelined in every way possible.
How come it was leaked that 5 people would die in volume 2 but the only important characters who died were Brenner (papa) and Eddie. Max died but she was brought back to life because apparently Eleven can do that now. That's not 5 is it? Or did they count the people in that helicopter who were trying to shoot Eleven?
Were we supposed to care about Brenner's death???? With how the cemra kept focusing so much on him? I was glad to watch him go!!
The timeskip of 2 full days in the middle of the climax???? Wtf was that??????
Mike being a complete asshole to Will these past 2 seasons was just for no reason then? He is JUST an asshole??
Were Robin, Nancy and Steve just choking on those vines for like 15 minutes or was the time where Eleven struck Vecna actually a lot shorter than that?
They actually forgot Will's birthday, I hoped they were just joking but they really forgot. He was the only character with a canon birthday within the series (until they talked about Dustin's) but clearly they care so little about Will that his entire existence is forgotten.
Wasn't the upside down toxic? Why is everyone just fine inhaling the shit?
The queerbait. No, gay people didn't bait themselves. Netflix, the Duffers, and the actors were actively promoting Byler and hyping up Will's sexuality when in reality Byler is just doomed, not just as a romance but as friendship as well. And Will did not explicitly come out to anyone. People are STILL in denial that he's gay and that's exactly why you make characters come out instead of keeping it "up to interpretation wink wink"
Will calling Mike the heart of their group yet Mike's the one who broke their party up the most.
Mike saying he instantly fell in love with Eleven when they met, as if he didn't tell her to shut up, go away and stop being weird back then.
Mike saying his life started on the day he met Eleven, the same day Will went missing, in his face. When Mike said before that the best thing he had ever done was befriend Will in kindergarten.
So did Vecna create the Mind Flayer or did it already exist? Cause if Vecna created it that's so goddamn lame and it adds no new mystery.
The continuous stereotypes and suffering/deaths of outcasts, poor people, queer people and people of color. One black character plays basketball and the other is a sassy one-liner. The brown guy is a funny weed man with barely to no relevancy to the plot. One lesbian gets a lazy background ship with a girl who is an exact copy of herself and the gay character is living in a painful unrequited love story and used as fuel for the main straight couple, without even being given a canon coming out scene. All this while the straight couples get together and have tons of moments together. Eddie who is poor, is seen as a cultist, dies and nobody besides 2 people mourn his death. Max, another poor character who had already lived through trauma and abuse, dies, gets brought back to life, is now comatose, probably crippled, and maybe permanently blind.
Will's endless suffering. He just can't ever be happy can he? Wtf is wrong with the writers...
Did the Russian crew just end up at Hoppers cabin like that in 2 days? No problems whatsoever? Wow that's convenient.
Hopper hugs Mike but not his new stepsons?
Not one, not two, but three jokes about Hopper once having been fat because he's lost weight in the prison.
Comments had some great additions and I came up with some more too so here's more:
Nobody showed up to Lucas' game when he had a very valid reason to want to play, and it was never brought up again. They all stood him up.
Eddie's death was so rushed and predictable. I saw it coming as soon as he said his whole "I'm a coward I run away I'm not a hero" speech. It's typical "I'm a coward so I'll die a hero" foreshadowing which is overused and just horrible. And in the end he didn't even save anyone, it was completely unnecessary. Eddie deserved to live.
Eleven not being able to win the final fight until she got validation from her boyfriend. Why was she not allowed to do this by herself?
The military watching the pizza van drive off and then do nothing about it? I thought they were experts at tracing and tracking, but nope, they just gave up after Eleven escaped the underground lab.
Just the Cali crew being sidelined so much when they once were such interesting characters (besides Argyle)
Steve saying he always loved Nancy and never moved on despite him telling Robin in season 3 that he didn't like her anymore. Let Steve move on and stop having Nancy jump from boy to boy, hurting them both in the process.
Just a nitpick but the sound design was so overly dramatic at times? Like Brenner LITERALLY snapped a pencil and the sound design was like ☄️💥🔥
Tell me what I missed cause I'd love to add it on this shit list.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“He’s a nice guy, Y/N,” your friend, Karen Sirko, said to you, a smile on her face. “I promise.”
You gave Karen a blank look. “Last time you said that to me the man ended up crying mid date because I was wearing the same perfume as his ex,” you said, arms crossing over your chest.
Karen laughed. “But this time I mean it,” Karen said. “He’s in my band, Y/N. Just trust me.”
“Whatever,” you sighed, opening the car door and stepping out. You were wearing your favourite outfit, your hair done nicely, thanks to Karen. “If this goes bad you owe me a drink.”
Karen rolled her eyes. “Have fun!” She yelled before driving off, leaving you no choice but to go inside this restaurant and find your date.
Karen hadn’t told you much, all you know is he’s got blond hair, he’s the bass player in the band Karen’s apart of, his name is Eddie and apparently, he’s a really good guy.
You looked around, there was people everywhere. Most people were in groups of two’s, three’s or even more. There was an exception of two people who were sat alone, one was a red haired boy who was half way through his meal and the other a blond boy, tapping his foot as he waited.
Obviously it wasn’t the red haired boy. You took a deep breath and walked over to the blond boy, praying to God this was Eddie and not some random guy.
“Eddie?” You asked, grabbing his attention, his eyes shot up to meet yours and you swear you died and went to heaven.
“You must be Y/N,” Eddie said, standing up, his chair scraping against the floorboards as he moved to give you a hug. “Karen has told me so much about you. She didn’t mention how beautiful you are though.”
You smiled bashfully, rolling your eyes as you took your seat across from him. “Thank you,” you said.
A few drinks and a meal later, you and Eddie were laughing with one another and getting to know each other. You had told him how you and Karen met and he had told you how he had joined the band. You and Eddie had really hit it off and for once Karen’s blind dating idea was actually working out.
Eddie paid the bill and shortly after you both stood up. “I had a lot of fun,” you smiled at him. Eddie took your hand as you walked out of the restaurant and onto the chilly night air of Los Angeles. “We should do this again sometime soon.”
“Who said the date was over?” Eddie asked with a chuckle. By now you were both drunk, and normally when you got drunk you liked to end the night in your own bed at home, but you just couldn’t leave Eddie’s side. You didn’t want too leave his side. “Wanna come back to my place? Have a few drinks and watch a movie?” He asked.
You smiled, “sure.”
Eddie waved down a cab and soon enough the pair of you were back at his house, which coincidentally was also where Karen lived. You had only been there once, briefly, when Karen was the only one home. You and Eddie were sat on his bed, watching a movie, except the movie had long been forgotten about because his lips were on yours and somehow you had ended up in his lap.
Your fingers fumbled with the buttons of his shirt, undoing all of them and pushing it off of his shoulders. Your clothes came next, Eddie undressing every article of clothing on your body in less than a minute, leaving you in nothing but your underwear. He kicked his jeans off and you pushed him back, flat against the mattress.
“Is this what you were expecting to come out of tonight?” Eddie asked, breathless as your lips trailed along his jawline and neck.
“I thought i’d end up going home tonight and never contacting you again,” you replied, pressing your lips against his once more.
You felt his fingers slip under the hem of your panties. You gasped as his fingertips brushed against your clit, slowly making his way towards your entrance.
“Is that good?” He asked, pushing two digits inside of you. Your eyes rolled into the back of your head.
“Yes,” you managed to whimper out as his fingers grazed the deepest parts of you. Pressure was building and you could feel your orgasm already approaching, but you weren’t ready yet, you wanted more.
You pushed his boxers down, his dick popping free from the fabric. You slipped away from his fingers and looked him in the eye as you aligned yourself with him. Eddie’s hands landed on your hips, guiding you down onto him.
His fingers clamped around the skin of your hips, Eddie’s fingers turning white from the grip he had on you. “Fuck,” you whispered, legs shaking as he filled you thick.
You moved your hips back and forth over and over again, gaining momentum with each move. Eddie was starstruck, too busy listening to the pretty sounds coming out of your mouth to even make a noise.
You switched from back and forth movements to bouncing up and down, skin slapping against skin until your calves started to burn and your vision started to blur. Eddie shoved his hand over your mouth, keeping you quiet.
“You’re being so loud, sweetheart,” He whispered. “You’re gonna wake the whole house up.”
You looked down at him, crying into the palm of his hand as your orgasm washed over you, growing so tired and weak that you collapsed onto his chest, whimpering into Eddie’s ear.
“Aw, are you all fucked out, huh?” He teased, you nodded your head, eyes fluttering shut. “Well I haven’t came yet so…” Eddie’s hips snapped up into yours, making you yelp. “You’re gonna have to keep it up for a little while longer.”
Eddie fucked himself into you, hitting angles that he wasn’t before. You kept your lips on his neck, sucking bruises into his skin to keep the sinful noises that desperately wanted to escape your lips in.
“Good girl,” he whispered, hands tangling through your hair.
You moved your mouth towards his ear. “Thank you,” you whispered, tears brimming your eyes. You were so sensitive but so needy at the same time. You didn’t want it to stop but you needed it to before it became overwhelming.
You pressed your lips against his, shoving your tongue inside of his mouth, moving your hips in time with his and it didn’t take long for Eddie’s movements to falter and his hips to start stuttering and you felt him finish inside of you.
There was not much talking after that, in fact you didn’t even get dressed, didn’t even move. The pair of you woke up the next morning fully naked, on top of each other, stone cold sober.
After the initial shock, you got up, changed back into your clothes from last night. “I really have to go,” you said with a smile as Eddie tried to convince you to stay.
“Well come back later,” Eddie begged. “Please?”
You rolled your eyes. “Fine,” you said before shoving your feet into your shoes. “I’ll come back later on tonight.”
Eddie smiled, triumphantly and you blew him a kiss as you walked out his bedroom door, hoping to sneak out of the house before anyone woke up. But right as you rounded the corner into the kitchen you came face to face with Karen.
Karen’s eyes widened upon seeing you, makeup smudged around your face, your hair ruined. She nearly choked on her coffee.
“I’m assuming it went well?” Karen asked with a smirk.
“Yeah…” You cleared your throat, your skin heating up. “It went great.”
“I told you so,” Karen laughed.
“Now leave me alone, i’m doing my walk of shame,” you said, pushing the front door open. “But i’ll be back tonight!” You yelled, waving goodbye to her.
Karen laughed, shaking her head.

Hot take: I like what they did with Izzy
First of, this is all my own opinion and if you think they did Izzy dirty, you do you babez. But please don't come after me for what I think about Izzy and his character arc.
Tbh I don't really know if there could've been a direction for Izzy to go without Ed. Like he said, they were Blackbeard. In season 1 he saw Ed wanting to move on from Blackbeard, so he became desperate enough to give them up to the English so that Stede would be killed and they could stay as Blackbeard. But Ed really loved Stede, so he brought up the Act Of Grace just to save him. Then when he returned alone and became Blackbeard again, Izzy thought he got what he wanted. But it wasn't what he wanted after all.
In season 2, Ed was Blackbeard alone, leaving Izzy to feel isolated and hurt over and over again by something he thought he wanted. But that loneliness and separation from wanting/needing Blackbeard opened him up for the rest of the crew. It allowed him to accept their help and their love. So when that bullet he fired missed, he decided to go help his family instead. With Stede coming back, he allowed himself to finally have even the tiniest of friendship with him because he recognized the love Ed had for Stede. It wasn't mean and twisted like the love he thought he wanted from Blackbeard, but nice. By episode 6 he had enough courage to join the party the crew was having instead of brushing it off, even joining in with his iconic singing and look. He looked at the crew as family now, something he would fight and die for gladly. And eventually, he did.
I think even before they got to the boat, Izzy knew he didn't have much time. As much as the people around him wanted to help, it would only be a waste of time and resources. He apologizes for what he has done in the past even though they have BOTH been terrible to each other. Blackbeard was not healthy for either of the parties involved and both of them have grown to the point that they can see it now. Izzy thought he'd be nothing without Blackbeard, so he fought hard to keep Blackbeard as it was, only to see that without Blackbeard, he was so much more. When he says "I wanna go", I took it as him accepting death rather than just wanting to die in general. Because he crawled from his death bed to help his family, and seeing that his family was safe Ed included (Eddie, NOT Blackbeard). He has grown over the season to embrace Ed, to try and love him like he loved the idea of Blackbeard. So in his final moments, he tells Ed to just be Ed. Even giving us a mirroring scene with that "There he is" line. The difference is that s1 Izzy wanted Ed to become his image Blackbeard. s2 Izzy got to know Ed and just wanted him to be himself. And him dying was like the final nail in Blackbeard's. Ed killed his part of Blackbeard by embracing Edward and following his dream of opening an inn. Izzy killed his part of Blackbeard by learning to be his own being and being a part of something else: the crew, his new family. And though he unfortunately didn't survive to see them thrive, he died knowing his family was safe. With the "brains of the operation" being gone, Blackbeard is truly... dead.
Also, I've seen a couple people say that they didn't like how Izzy was buried on land near the inn. Like,, sure, again you can have your opinions, but you can't exactly bury him in the local cemetery. And if he was just dropped in the sea, it would've felt like just another joke like "welp, that's dealt with". I like to think that having Izzy's grave near the inn allows Ed to go and talk to him but that's just a headcanon lol.
So TLDR: I think they did Izzy's character arc justice by having him learn that his desire of needing to be a part of Blackbeard was not healthy, learning to open himself up to his new family and eventually learning to love Eddie for Ed, not Blackbeard.
Of course it would've been nice to see Izzy thrive in season 3, but his character arc is done (dead and buried lmao). Yes, it was rushed, but I blame HBO max entirely, this show deserved 10 episodes.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 spoilers.
At first it was denial.
I saw the signs. I saw how he said Never change Dustin Henderson. I saw him say again and again that he’s no hero. I saw him go back to give the others more time. I watched as he lay so close to gone with Dustin holding him and I still didn’t believe it.
Then it was shock.
How the time skip happened and everyone was safely back, out of the upside down. No mention of Eddie from anyone, until Dustin.
Then it changed again, going back and forth between heart wrenching mourning and white hot anger.
I am upset. The kind of upset where your feelings overcome your body and you can’t even stand, your knees giving in beneath you. Crying on the floor. Watching the tears fall onto the ground, inches from your face.
I am upset. The kind of upset where you can’t even hold back the fury. Where nothing will calm you down and you’re shaking and tense, and you just have to feel that feeling with every fibre of your being until it turns back into tears.
I convinced myself that Eddie wasn’t going to die. I read posts saying that Eddie and Jonathan were gonna have scenes next season, they put forward the point that Why would there be so much promotion for a character that wouldn’t even be in the next season?
I couldn’t even enjoy the rest of the episode after that. I couldn’t be excited about Robin and Vickie. I didn’t feel anything when Hopper and Joyce reunited with their kids. I didn’t care that Hawkins was in trouble. Nothing else mattered after that. I felt numb.
Thank you Joe Quinn. For bringing alive a character that I love more than any other I ever have. No other is even close. And fuck you Duffer brothers for absolutely ruining him.
I’m only half serious, because I understand that when you make something and people love it, you’re terrified that one day you’ll fuck it up and all those supporters will turn on you. I know that the Duffers originally didn’t want Eddie to be that likeable, since they planned on killing him. But they didn’t change what they planned even after casting Joe.
And I think what makes me the most angry is that his death wasn’t even a good death.
No one mourned for him. There was no funeral. We don’t even know that much about what happened after. We can assume that they just left his body there, to rot in the upside down. Alone. Forever.
He never got to meet Will. He would have loved him. He would have taken him under his wing and protected him and become a second older brother. He never got to meet El and see her awesome powers in action. He never got to meet Hopper, or Joyce, or Murray or Argyle or Holly or any of the parents or anyone else.
I wanted to see him become part of the group. I wanted to see him interact with the others. What would Hopper have said after taking one look at him? It would’ve made me laugh whatever it would’ve been. I wonder what Eddie would’ve thought of Dustin’s girlfriend Suzie. Did he even know that this girl with superpowers was Mike’s girlfriend???
His name was never redeemed. Everyone still hates him. He never graduated. And no, he didn’t die a hero. His death wasn’t an epic sacrifice like Billy’s was. He died even though the exact same thing happened to Steve and he survived.
His death didn’t feel like it meant anything.
And it should’ve
It could’ve.
If Eddie died it could’ve been him protecting Steve, Nancy and Robin. He reaches the house, saves them but ultimately doesn’t make it. Maybe he makes such a ruckus that Vecna has to find him and kill him himself, giving El and Max more time to save themselves.
If they were planning on it, it could’ve been so. Much. Better.
Duffer brothers you made me fall in love with a show and continue to love it for 6 years. And you ruined it in just under 4 hours.
But even after everything, I still love this show. And I will not stop writing. Eddie Munson you stole my heart and I have no regrets about that.
And I will share this love with every person who reads my work and interacts with my blog who loves him too.
I’ll write Eddie the story he deserves.
Eddie I love you. You freak.
- Willow.

Your posts and fics about Steve not being a pushover are some of my favorite in this fandom! I was wondering if you had any thoughts or headcanons about how Steve would deal with other members of the older party, instead of the younger party? This is more so in fanon than canon, but people mocking his intelligence or being surprised he's not a douche? Thanks!
Oh!! Thank you so much!!! That really means a lot! I'm always a little nervous when I make another post about Steve's boundaries and how fanon sometimes treats him, so it's a relief to hear people like them haha.
You raise an interesting question! And one I will admit I haven't thought about too much, actually. Most of my posts have been about Steve and Dustin, as that's what I've been thinking about lately, but you're so right that the older teens do it too. LOTS to think about. So fair disclaimer that I'm thinking and writing by the seat of my pants here.
I do just want to start off by saying that fanon is fun! Taking canon apart and disecting it, taking out its parts and figuring out how it works is fun! Diving deep and analysing and comparing what the writers intended vs what they ended up portraying vs what the fans thought. Media analysis baby! But fanon (like canon), can't cater to everyone. I'm just a Steve girlie with a lot of feelings. Not to say canon's exempt, of course. These ideas had to have come from somewhere. And I swear that each season gets a little bit worse at turning Steve into a verbal punching bag. A joke. He was supposed to be Nancy's jerk boyfriend who died, but everyone loved Joe Keery so much they kept him alive. And now they thank him by boiling his character down to a dumb jock who was an asshole. It's tiring.
I remember ages ago there was a post (that I cannot find for the life of me) that pointed out that in season 1 Steve says the word connoisseurs (in the scene with the camera smashing) but if they made him say that in season 4 they would have made Dustin make a comment how he didn't know Steve knew a word with that many syllables or something.
All this insulting Steve, all the canon jokes and fanon characterisation shitting on his interests and his personality and the fact that he decided to be a better person 3 years ago by the time S4 rolls around? Just feels like an excuse to shit on the jock. Revenge of the nerds. But it just makes the nerds look like bullies. Like the Duffers got bullied by jocks when they were kids and now they're making it everyone else's problem.
But to the actual point of this ask! The older party! Below the cut because this got long.
First up is Eddie! With canon Eddie a part of me doesn't think he would make fun of Steve's intelligence or call him a douche post season 4. A big part of Eddie's journey was him getting his whole world turned upside down (pun not intended). With the whole monsters thing, but also with his worldview! He thought he was confident and tough, but realised that he panicked when things got real (which I mean, fair, but that's not what we're talking about). And that he was making assumptions about people based on his own unfair biases! He canonically admits to Steve that he couldn't accept the fact that Steve is a Good Dude and the only reasons he thought he was a douche was that he has rich parents, was popular, and chicks love him. Nothing based on Steve's actions. Him turning around after all that to comment about Steve's intelligence, or bringing up his non existent assholery again just feels like a huge backslide. Doing both their characters a real disservice.
But you mentioned fanon more than canon, and there are absolutely fanon Eddie's out there who would insult Steve like that. And I gotta be honest - I don't think that Steve would take that lying down. Steve absolutely has an angry knee jerk reaction to things during this show. Back in S1, but also in S4 - when he says to Dustin that he was going to punch him so hard his teeth would fall back out. If Eddie, the new dude, decided he was going to be a jerk and insult Steve's intelligence? Steve would absolutely retort that it was fucking rich coming from the guy who failed senior year twice. Which is harsh, but I'd be angry too if I saved this guy's life and he turns around and calls me stupid for it. He'd call Eddie a hypocrite.
One thing I like about Steddie (both platonically, and romantically) is how they're on equal footing. The get along. They respect each other. Stop making Eddie a jerk to Steve for no good reason.
Eddie bringing up he thought Steve was a douche feels better than the other instances because he admits he was wrong!! Willingly! To Steve's face! But any times after? Steve would drop Eddie like a hot potato. He's not going to hang around with someone who's a dick to him for no reason. The fact that they went through the Upside Down together isn't going to make him suffer through it. Like, there's no way Steve hung out with Nancy and Jon after the breakup. No Upside Down monsters could make that less awkward.
Speaking of other instances - Robin. Stobin, my beloved. Sometimes I wonder if people actually like Steve, or if they just put up with him because him and Robin are a special deal. My thoughts on her are a little more all over the place, so bare with.
Is she a jerk to him in Season 3? Yes. But she's also a lonely, angry, teen, holding a grudge against him for no good reason. The only 2 things she says she hated him for were - he ate bagels messily in class, and that he didn't pay attention to the girl she had a crush on. Once again, nothing substantial.
But then they get tortured together, they become best friends. They get a job together again and he drives her to school. Robin canonically is the one to bring up what if they could combine into one person. She cares about Steve! She loves him so much she wants to merge with him!! And yet so much fanon has her acting like Steve is a bad rash she can't get rid of. Insulting him at every chance she gets. I get that friendships have gentle ribbing, teasing and jokes, because you know them and you know where their line in the sand is. But a lot of fanon feels like Robin rubbing salt into the wound. Taking it too far.
How many times does Steve have to apologise for being an asshole when he really wasn't that bad in the first place?
Steve reinforcing his boundaries with aggressive fanon Robin would be more chill than Eddie, I think. More like a conversation. Like, hey, you're my best friend and what you're saying is actually really hurting me? Could you please stop because it really doesn't feel like you want to be my friend since you won't stop insulting my intelligence? Robin isn't just an angry teen on her own anymore, she has a friend and the things she says has an effect. I can see him being more conservative with it than him telling Tommy & Carol that they're assholes. If he loses Robin, he goes back to his only friend being Dustin. But he'd still bring it up. He wouldn't just roll over and take it.
If she didn't listen when he talked to her like an adult? That's when he'd call her out like he did Tommy and Carol. If he can call out his best friends before, he'd do it again. It'd suck, but he needs to put himself first.
Nancy and Jon I'm still thinking about.
Jon doesn't like Steve, doesn't respect him, and canonically says mean things about Steve still, after Steve's done so much to atone, to save and help everyone. That mean joke he makes at the end of S4 about Steve being in charge? Oof.
A part of me can see Steve being like 'who cares what that guy thinks, I know myself'. But I'm afraid I just don't have a lot more on Jon. He's just not a character I'm a big fan of so I'm not as confident with his characterisation.
Nancy however? Nancy would hurt. Steve loved her, cared for her, she was there when he was trying to be better, when he was atoning. (I know that Steve says that Nancy was the bump on the head he needed, but he's wrong. He did it himself. But that's besides the point.). He went with her to the Hollands, he saved her little brother's life, him and all the party. With Billy and then in the tunnels. He opened up to her, she helped him with his college essays. She broke his heart and for her to turn around and comment on his intelligence? to call him a douche? would fucking hurt. Not at the same level as the S2 drunk bathroom bullshit convo, but it would hurt.
A part of me can see Steve doing the whole - pinch the bridge of your nose to hold back the tears and leave - thing like in S2 after the party. But a part of me could see Steve having had the time away from her to say something. But IDK. I'm not too sure on this. If she wasn't going to be mature about their breakup, about the things he told her, wasn't going to respect him and not insult him after all the things she's done? I'd say leave her behind, but I don't know if Steve would. He has a big heart. It might just be easier to take the bittersweet option and quietly let her go. Don't interact.
ANYWAY. OOF. Sorry this got so long, I was thinking and then my brain kind of ran away with me. Hopefully this was the sort of thing you were thinking? It was a fun thought experiment either way!!

———————————————————————————
Ever since meeting Eddie Munson at the quarry, things progressively got better. You’d discovered Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, and Lucas Sinclair were apart of the Hellfire Club. They were a little hesitant in playing Dungeons and Dragons with their friend’s older sibling, but Eddie practically made them let you play. You worked with Eddie in coming up with a cool character, learning the rules of the game along the way. And it turns out, you were pretty fucking good. You ended up helping the party out of some pretty sticky situations.
Pretty soon, Eddie got you a Hellfire Club shirt, and you couldn’t be more happy. You finally felt apart of something. You had somewhere to call home. Somewhere where you actually belonged. You felt happy there. You hadn’t expected to actually make friends with Mike, Lucas, and Dustin, but you did. You and Dustin were pretty close. Of course, no friendship you made with the other members of Hellfire compared to you and Eddie. Eddie practically became your lifeboat. He would occasionally check in to make sure you were feeling okay, but he never was suffocating about it. This boy just seemed so…perfect. Yeah, he may still be in school after being held back and not graduating, but he really did care about you and you cared about him.
This was part of why your heart just ached for him while you sat at Skull Rock late at night. You tried not to think about it, sitting at the top of the rock and staring at the stars. You were of course thankful for the group helping you two out, but why did it have to be one of the sweetest people in Hawkins that was getting framed? Eddie may look absolutely fucking insane (he kind of is sometimes) but Eddie Munson would never hurt a fly. It was a little cliche to say, but nobody else knew Eddie like you did. You knew how sweet he was, and how caring he was for others.
You couldn’t imagine the guilt he felt too. You, his boyfriend, were getting roped into this heinous situation and there was nothing he could do about it. You had heard whispers after Billy had died. You’d heard a couple people at his funeral say you did it instead of the ‘mall fire’ killing him. You wanted to tell Eddie everything, now that he knew about the Upside Down, but it was just so hard to think about.
You were pulled out of your thoughts by Eddie, who had climbed up the rock and was now hovering over you.
“I was getting lonely down there, Hargrove.” He hummed, trying to keep the shakiness out of his voice. He was scared out of his mind, but he didn’t want you to know that. “What’s up?”
“I dunno…just thinking, I guess.” You sat up and breathed out, letting him just take a seat in your lap. Your hands found their way to Eddie’s, lightly playing with the rings on his fingers.
“Heh…it’s weird, isn’t it?”
“What is?”
“This is where you asked me out, ‘member?”
He was right. This was where the both of you got together. At this very spot.
“Wow…you’re right, Ed. Although it was more of a demand than a request.” You chuckled a bit, the memory playing through your head. “That felt like so long ago. The last time I cried that hard was when we first met at the quarry.”
“Mmm…yeah. You look pretty when you cry.” He said absentmindedly, making you smile.
“Maybe I should cry more.”
“Wait- that’s not what I meant-!” He panicked, and he would have definitely tried to apologize if you hadn’t kissed him to shut him up. His muscles untensed and he calmly kissed back. It occurred to you that you hadn’t kissed him in a while. Sure, you kissed his knuckles or his forehead to try to reassure him or calm him down, but you hadn’t fully kissed him since before Chrissy’s death.
You pulled away when you couldn’t breathe anymore, but Eddie just pulled you right back in. Almost like he needed more. You understood pretty quickly once you felt soft tear droplets fall onto your shirt. He was crying. Eddie never usually…cried. Once you caught him crying after a nightmare he had once, but that felt like a while ago.
You kissed Eddie for as long as he needed, which you didn’t exactly keep track of how long that was. When he pulled away, he clung to you and nuzzled his tear-stained face into your neck like a child clinging to their mother.
“I’m…so, so sorry.” He whispered, his voice like a heartbroken little boy’s. “I never meant to get you wrapped up in this…fucking mess. Not after what you went through. You don’t deserve any of this shit.”
“Oh…I know, I know.” Your voice was a hushed whisper, moving him into a cradling position. He always liked it when you held him like this. “None of this is your fault, okay? We were both just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe that would have happened to Chrissy either way. You had no way of knowing.” You knew your words wouldn’t make anything completely better, but he needed to know nothing was his fault. You gently ran your fingers through his wild hair, kissing the top of his head.
Eddie cried softly for a little longer, pulling away when he was done. His angelic face was red and his eyes were puffy, so you kissed all over it. He chuckled a little and pulled his face away more.
“Don’t be too loud, idiot.” He hummed, going back to sitting on your lap.
“Oh yeah, yeah.” You laughed softly, ruffling his hair.
“…you remember how our first kiss was on top of this rock?” He hummed. “The first time you actually opened up to me was here, too.”
“Yeah, I ‘member.” You chuckled. This rock was so important to the both of you.
Susan had been drinking that night, and Max had shut herself in her room. It had been about nine months since Billy had died, and Eddie knew that. You were about to just clock out, but there was a little rapping on your window.
“Hargroooove…open up…” The unmistakable voice of Eddie Munson was muffled from outside your window. It was almost embarrassing how quick you jumped from your bed and went to the window, opening it.
“Eddie, you goof, why are you here?” You chuckled, trying to be quiet. “Just because you live across the street from me doesn’t mean you can come Romeo and Juliet me or whatever.”
“What? Why not?” Eddie pouted. “I just wanna see you.”
“Well, not in here. Susan and Max aren’t in the greatest of moods.”
“Then come on..!” Eddie grabbed you by the wrist and carefully tugged you of the window. “I wanna take you somewhere.” He shut your window quietly, ignoring your questions as he dragged you to his van.
You tried to hide a smile as you hopped into the passenger seat. You turned on the radio as Eddie drove off, cranking the volume up like the two of you liked, not noticing Eddie’s fond smile.
He parked near Lovers’ Lake, and led you into the woods nearby, holding your hand.
“I hope you aren’t about to murder me.” You joked, hoping it was too dark for him to see your red face.
“Ah shit, you caught me.” He said, before swooping you up into his arms. He was surprisingly strong. “Gotcha!!”
You yelped out, your yell soon morphing into laughter as Eddie ran with you through the woods.
“You weirdo, what are you doing?!” You exclaimed, cackling with no shame as Eddie carried you.
“We’re here!” He announced.
“I can’t see, jackass.” You huffed out, considering he had thrown you over his shoulder. Eddie turned around, not bothering to put you down. You saw a huge rock in the shape of a skull. “Isn’t this that place where people come to make out?”
“That’s not what we’re doing, dumbass.” He sassed, putting you down finally and climbing on top of the rock. You brushed yourself off and climbed up with him.
“The view is really pretty.” You commented as you looked at the stars.
“Yeah…it really is.” Eddie softly said, and you turned to face him only to discover he wasn’t looking at the stars. He was looking at you. You blinked and looked away with a clear of your throat.
“So, Munson. Why’d you take me here at however late at night?”
“I dunno, you just seemed kinda down lately.” Eddie shrugged, pulling his legs into a criss-cross position. “I figured you would appreciate this.”
Your face turned even redder. “That’s…really nice of you.” You stammered out. “Thank you.” How could he read you so perfectly? Or maybe he was the only one that gave a shit. You both were silent for a while, before Eddie pulled out a walkman from his inner jacket pocket and started playing some music. He knew you hated things being quiet.
“Hey…Eddie?”
“Yeah?”
“Why did you stop me from jumping off the quarry?”
Eddie blinked, obviously not expecting that. “What?”
“Why did you stop me? You had no clue who the hell I was, but you stopped me.”
“Who wouldn’t stop someone from jumping off the edge of a quarry?” Eddie said, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “You just…looked like you were in so much pain. I couldn’t ignore that. Yeah, I didn’t know who the hell you were, but what kind of a person would I be if I just let you jump?”
You were silent, letting your mind think back to that day. You didn’t get to think about it very long, as Eddie laid his hand on top of yours to pull you back to reality.
“I mean hey, I’m glad I did. You’re one of the greatest people I’ve ever fucking met. You make me really happy, y’know that? Yeah I’m friends with the other members of Hellfire, but you aren’t like them.” He hummed out.
You turned to look at him, and you could tell he was being genuine. How did you get so lucky? You didn’t feel like you deserved that. Not after Billy. Not after what a horrible brother you were to him. You almost didn’t even realize the tears that were bubbling until he said something.
“Hey woah, what’s wrong?” He jumped up and sat in front of you. “Are you alright? Did I say something wrong?” He placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. You tried to not cry, but just like at the quarry, you couldn’t stop the onslaught of tears that came rushing out. “Shit, c’mere…” He scooted closer and wrapped you in a hug, letting you openly weep into his chest. Your chest and throat constricted, body shaking like a leaf as you clutched onto Eddie.
“I don’t deserve this, Eddie…” You managed, trying not to cry on his clothes. “You don’t understand why I was there that day…”
Eddie gently moved away from you and gingerly laid his hand on your face, the cool metal of his rings helping ground you.
“Then tell me.” He cooed softly.
With hardly an ounce of hesitation, you spilled everything. How you and Billy endured the abuse of your father after he drove your mother away. How the two of you gradually grew apart. How you realized how horrible of a brother you were.
“He must have hated me, Eddie…” You sobbed. “I left him alone in a house but not a home. I just couldn’t stand getting beat and getting called a f*g on a daily basis. I fucking failed him! Now my little brother is dead and I can’t fix anything! Why wasn’t it me..? Billy could have gone on to do so much good…he was my baby brother…and now I can’t apologize or anything…and now I’m failing Max just like I failed Billy.”
“…shit, Hargrove…” Eddie whispered. “I’m so sorry you had to go through all of that alone…” His voice was gentle, like he’d break you if he spoke too loud. His thumb rubbed your cheek, allowing you to focus on that movement. “But…I don’t think Billy ever thought you failed him, you know that? All of this shit is the fault of your shitty dad, you understand? That’s not fair of him to put that blame on you.” He allowed his voice to become a little sharper so you’d pay attention. “No horrible brother would be here sobbing and regretting the way he treated his sibling, y’know? But there’s nothing you can do now, I’m sure you understand that much. Sitting here and crying won’t fix anything, but you know what will? Learning from that shit experience and being a better man, like your brother would want. Living your life to the fullest and being happy, but also keep him alive in your memory and all that shit, y’know?”
“Eddie, I-”
“And I’m gonna help you in any way I possibly can. No person should have to handle all that alone. You’re not alone, y’know? It’s okay to rely on other people sometimes.”
You stared at him, tears still in your eyes. The genuine care and compassion in his eyes made your heart beat faster and faster. That’s when you realized how close your faces truly were.
“I…Eddie..?” You whispered out. “Can I…tell you a secret?”
“Anything.”
“I think I might be in love with you.”
His silence scared you. He stared with wide eyes, and you were unable to read the boy’s expression. Did you go too far?
“Just kick me off this rock please.” You mumbled, going to turn away. “I should go, I’m so sorry, forget i said anything.
“I love you too.” He blurted, leaving you to be the one with wide eyes.
“H-huh?” You stammered. Real smooth. “You- are you serious?”
“One hundred percent.” He breathed out. He was just as nervous as you were.
“You’re…not playing a sick joke or anything, right, Ed?” You mumbled, even though Eddie had kept his large hand on your cheek.
“No.” He said, a little firmer. “I’ll prove it if you don’t believe me.”
You almost thought you were dreaming.
His lips were on yours.
He was kissing you.
His lips weren’t the softest thing on the planet, but you didn’t mind. They were a little chapped, but you really couldn’t care less. They were perfect. He was perfect.
He realized you weren’t kissing back, so he went to pull away, but you’d only pulled him right back to you as to savor this moment you never thought you’d experience anywhere outside of your dreams. He decided to savor it too. Both his hands were holding your face, and your hands were holding his. You felt like two lovesick teenagers only without the lust. All of it was love and passion. You’d never imagined this moment would actually come. You told yourself to keep the idea of this locked away in your wildest dreams. You wanted this to happen again.
“Go out with me.” You breathed out once his lips left yours.
A wide, goofy, love-struck grin spread across Eddie’s face. “What’s the magic word?”
“I don’t need a fucking magic word, just say yes, dumbass.” You pouted out.
“Say it, Hargrove~”
“Ughhh, please?”
His lips were on yours once again.
“As you wish.”
~
You didn’t remember much after that. You had woken up in a soft bed in a room that wasn’t yours. You quickly deduced that it was Eddie’s room, his guitar catching your eye as soon as they got adjusted to the light. You could see your shirt, jeans, and shoes strewn about the floor, along with Eddie’s outfit from yesterday too.
You gently lifted the blankets to see that you had been dressed in some of Eddie’s comfier clothes. Did he do that? What a sweetheart.
Speaking of, two arms pulled you close, and you realized Eddie was next to you. He was in nothing but his underwear, which made your face turn bright red. His arms were around your torso, and his legs were all tangled in yours. He looked so innocent.
And that’s how you decided you gained the title of The Luckiest Boy in Hawkins, Indiana.

Knight In Shining Denim
Pairing: Eddie Munson x F!Reader
Summary: When your little brother Dustin asks for a favor, you hadn't expected this. Helping your crush Eddie Munson hide from the authorities. Unable to say no, you help Hawkins' local freak stay out of trouble. Little did you know the two of you would get along so well.
Warnings: Flirtatious Eddie, just fluff.
A/N: Look, Eddie is not normally my type but I just love him so much. Since me and my gf just got done with Stranger Things I had to pay tribute to my favorite character.
Tumblr media
You knew that this was going to be your year. Life in Hawkins had been bizarre for a while now. It wasn’t until last year that Dustin and his friends finally told you about what was going on. It had taken a great deal of convincing but eventually you accepted the reality that there were monsters in your sleepy little town. You had been there the night of the “mall fire” but you knew that’s not what it really was. What it really was was something you couldn’t put into words. All you knew is that you had helped save the world. As great a sensation as that was, you were ready for your life to get back on track. And everything was going extremely well. You were getting ready to go away to college, you were going to be moving out of your parent’s house, you had a good group of friends. Everything was shaping up to be a totally normal year for the first time in a long time. The only thing standing in your way was Eddie Munson.
Ever since your little brother Dustin had joined the Hellfire Club you had been unable to escape the man. Your crush on Eddie had persisted for near on a year now. No matter what you did, you couldn’t rid yourself of your feelings for him. The problem was that he didn’t know you even existed. You hadn’t quite gathered up the courage to ask him out yet. Not to mention a relationship with Eddie Munson probably wouldn’t end the way you wanted it to. It was best to just stay away from him. However, that didn’t stop your crush.
Despite the one hiccup, your year had been smooth sailing. That was until there was a knock on your door one fateful Saturday. You’d made plans that day with a few of your friends. Little did you know you wouldn’t be able to follow through. Dragging yourself out of your desk chair, you opened your bedroom door. Immediately you knew something was amiss when you saw who was standing on the other side. It was Dustin, Steve, Robin, Nancy, and Max all blinking up at you with fake smiles. Something was definitely wrong.
“What is this, Dusty?” You started warily.
“May we come in?”
“Are you gonna go away if I say no?”
“No.” You heaved a sigh.
“Come in then.” The group shuffled into your bedroom, all standing and sitting in various positions yet all turning to face you.
“So,” Dustin began. “You remember all that crazy stuff that happened last year. You know that all of it is real. I am asking you now to remember those things you saw and hold onto that belief.”
“Okay...” You drew out the word cautiously.
“There’s another monster. Like the one in the mall. His name is Vecna. He curses people’s minds. Prays on their trauma and fear until there is nothing left of them. Real nasty son of a bitch. We have a chance to stop him but in order to do that, we need your help.” As much as you knew you should probably disregard everything he said, something in you knew to believe him almost immediately.
“Okay.” You said again, less reserved now.
“Problem is we’ve got another little issue on our hands and we don’t have enough people to take care of it. We’ve got to save Max which means we need you to help solve our other issue. Is that something you can do?” Dustin asked you optimistically.
“It depends on the favor.” Dustin looked around at the others and sighed before readjusting in his seat just slightly.
“Look, you know how Chrissy and Fred mysteriously died? Well the police have a suspect in mind but we know it’s not this person. It’s really Vecna. So we need someone to help protect this person from the authorities until we can prove his innocence.” Something told you that Dustin was hiding some bigger truth from you.
“Who is it Dusty?” He took one last breath.
“It’s Eddie.” A blush immediately crept onto your cheeks.
“What? I can’t do that!” You blurt out, bringing a hand to your cheek to try and hide the deep red color.
“Come on Y/N! You have to! I know it won’t be easy,” This he whispered to you, knowing the truth about your crush on Eddie. You had told him in an attempt to strengthen your sibling trust. “But you’ve got to! We really need you.”
“Why me?”
“You’re the only one we can trust.” You stopped a moment.
“You said that you all had to save Max. If I don’t do this what’s gonna happen to her?” They all exchanged uneasy glances at each other, avoiding Max’s eyes. Max seemed angry before she piped up.
“I’ll die. Just like Chrissy and Fred.” This stopped you in your tracks.
“Oh God Max. I had no idea. I’m really sorry.” You searched her eyes but she avoided your gaze, the room now tense and quiet. “Of course I’ll do it. If this will help save Max then of course I’ll do it.”
“Thank you!” Dustin blurted out, jumping out of his chair. The others all stood as well, crowding around to offer their thanks. Once Max had walked close enough to you, you put an arm on her shoulder. She offered you an uneasy smile in return before looking away again.
“You owe me though Dusty. Big time.” You thought for a moment. “I want tv privileges for one, no, two months.”
“Two months! But the new season of--” Before he could finish his thought Steve elbowed him in the side.
“Yeah okay. Two months. It’s a deal.” He said dejectedly before shaking your hand. You nodded, smiling down at him.
“Alright then. Take me to him.”
“One thing I should tell you. Eddie is kind of sort of freaking out. He was the one that saw Chrissy die. He’s pretty spooked over it.”
“Okay. Thanks for telling me.” Was all you said and with that, they led the way out to the cars in the driveway. Nancy pulled out and you followed her for what felt like forever until you were pulling up in front of a one story house that seemed well enough put together. The other car full of people got out and you did the same. Dustin gestured to the back of the house and you followed him to a large shed which was out of sight. As you maneuvered through the grass you tried to stop your mind from wandering. You were going to be alone with Eddie for who knew how long until they’d finished their mission. Alone. With Eddie. You needed to snap out of it. Shaking yourself back to reality you arrived at the door of the shed.
Dustin didn’t knock. He simply opened the door. When you stepped inside you saw a flash of movement towards the back corner. Once your eyes had adjusted to the dimly lit room you realized that it was Eddie who had flung himself to safety. “Eddie it’s us!” Dustin said loudly, throwing his arms up in an attempt to seem less frightening.
“God Henderson don’t you ever knock?” He shouted, brushing himself off as he stood to his full height. He looked just as good as he always did. His curly hair was perfectly unkempt. He wore his Hellfire Club shirt with a leather jacket over it. His jeans, you noticed, were extra tight today. You sunk towards the back of the group, trying to hide from him. He stalked closer, walking over various piles of junk.
“Good to see you Henderson. Wheeler. Others.” He took another step closer and locked eyes with you. “And Henderson’s sister?” This made you pause a moment. He knew you.
“You know who I am?” You couldn’t help but ask.
“Of course I do. Henderson here talks about you all the time.” He steps so close that he’s only a few inches away now, one hand on his hip as he examines you closely. “Don’t worry. All good things.” There was amusement in his voice, as if he was pleased with what he saw.
“Okay, back up man. Just listen to us.” Dustin chimed in, causing your nostrils to flare in frustration. “Y/N is going to stay with you until we help Max. She’ll go get you food, she’ll keep you company. She’s got your back.” Eddie turned back around to face you.
“Well, well, well. My knight in shining denim.” He said, a hand skimming the collar of the denim jacket you were wearing. This made you blush nervously as you accepted his touch.
"Dude, come on." Dustin complained, trying to stop Eddie's obvious advances. "Are you guys gonna be okay here?"
"Dustin, we'll be fine," You chimed in, standing up taller. "We're both adults." This you directed to Eddie who smiled wickedly.
"Yes we are." He replied, tongue tracing his bottom lip.
"Okay. Gross. We're leaving now." Dustin chimed in, gathering the group and making their way to the door. "Eddie just," Dustin stopped, turning to the two of you who had moved to the center of the room. "Don't boink my sister?" At this Eddie let out a guttural laugh.
"You worry too much Henderson. Now go save the world." Dustin looked uneasy but didn't say another word as he followed the others out. Now it was just you and Eddie alone in the dimly lit room. The smile had not left his face as he studied you, taking in the sight of you. It was impossible not to blush as you stood under the scrutiny of his gaze. Clearing your throat you stepped away, examining your new living quarters. It really wasn't much to look at but in the grand scheme of things you didn't mind. You'd never heard of a mission to save the world that included staying at a five star hotel. When you turned back around Eddie's eyes had not left your figure.
"When Dustin told me he had an older sister, you are not what I pictured." Eddie started, beginning to circle you like a lion circling its prey. "You are a total babe." When he said this you inhaled just a bit too hard and began choking on air. You coughed and spluttered for a moment before catching your breath. "You good?" He said with a smile and you nodded, red faced and embarrassed. As few interactions as you'd had with Eddie you'd never thought him to be so flirtatious so every word that came out of his mouth was like a jumpscare to your poor infatuated heart. "What's the matter? Not used to having freaky boys say nice things to you?"
"More like not used to anyone saying nice things to me." You teased.
"Oh come on. A knock out like you doesn't get compliments? I'm hurt that you'd lie to me like that."
"I'm not lying!" You tried to defend yourself before realizing that you're defending the fact that nobody likes you. Eddie must have sensed your sudden sadness because his tone became more sincere.
"Well I'm glad to be the first." He said, eyes falling to his feet. Suddenly reality came crashing down as you realized there was so much you needed to do now that you'd taken on this odd mission.
"Hey, sorry to leave you so soon but I've gotta make some phone calls. Is there a phone in the main house?" You ask him. When he confirms that there is you step outside and head into the house. The first person you needed to call was your mom. You told her that you'd be staying with some friends for a while and she simply told you to have a good time, just as you expected she would. Next you had to call your job. However this particular phone call didn't go at all how you were expecting. You told your boss that you needed some time off but you weren't sure how long you'd be gone. He didn't seem to like this answer, telling you that either you needed to come in to work that afternoon or you didn't need to come back at all. You glanced back at the shed. You could see in through the window. Eddie was standing there looking all perfect and in need of your help. With a deep sigh you face forward again. "Then I quit." You said before hanging up. Regret flooded your body as soon as you did but you knew that it was probably for the best. You hadn’t liked the job very much anyway and Eddie needed you right now. You couldn’t pass that up for a dead end job that you could replace in a heartbeat.
Heaving another deep sigh, you headed out the back towards the shed. Upon seeing you step inside Eddie’s lips cracked into a smile. He was seated on the edge of an old rowboat, watching you walk. It didn’t take long for him to realize something was up.
“What happened?”
“I quit my job.” At this he stood up.
“You did? Awesome!” He said, patting your shoulder. Suddenly he seemed to have a realization. “Wait. It wasn’t because of me was it?”
“Kind of?” You admit shyly, not meeting his gaze.
“Oh man, what? You gotta get your job back!”
“Don’t worry. I can talk to my mom. She’ll give us some money for food so long as I tell her it’s for a friend”
“Oh, I’m not worried about that. I’ve got money. I just don’t want you to have to quit your job because of me. I’ll be fine.”
“I’ll be fine too. Don’t worry about me.” You say. Eddie watches you a moment before nodding, sitting back down on the rowboat.
“You’re a tough girl. I like that.” He said, eyes focused on his hands.
“You have to be tough if you live in Hawkins.” You said with a laugh.
“Yeah, I’m figuring that out.” He said, laughing with you. You sat down on the rowboat with him, sitting closer than you’d meant. The feeling of his thigh touching yours made your head spin as you tried your best not to move. “So, what do you know about all this?” Eddie asked, seemingly unphased by the feeling of your body so close.
“About this? Not much. Dustin told me the monster’s name is Vecna. That he curses people’s minds. That’s about it. I was there last year though. During the ‘mall fire’. Has anyone told you about this yet?” He shakes his head. “It wasn’t really a fire. It was another monster. Like Vecna. They called it the Mind Flayer. It was a giant beast made out of dead people. Real gross. There was this huge machine downstairs that was opening a portal that allowed the Mind Flayer to live. We closed the portal and that killed it. It really hated heat though. I helped keep it down by throwing fireworks at it. It didn’t like that one bit. Did the trick though.” You looked back up at him and his eyes were focused completely on you as you told him about what had happened. You were suddenly very nervous that you sounded like a total nutjob telling him all this. “God, I sound crazy.” You laughed.
“No, no you don’t,” He responded, putting a hand on your knee. “I believe you. Why would you of all people lie about something like this? I’m just ... taking it all in I guess.” He told you.
“I know, it’s a lot to process. I almost didn’t agree when Dustin asked for my help but I know my brother. I knew that he was telling the truth. If it weren’t for Dustin I never would have joined. He’s the one that recruited me for this job too. I guess I just can’t say no to him.”
“Well, he’s a persuasive kid. No doubt about that. I like him. He makes me laugh. He’s a great addition to Hellfire.”
“What exactly is Hellfire? If you don’t mind my asking.” You watched him hopefully, wanting to learn more about him and his interests. If the two of you were going to be so close together in this little shed for who knew how long you saw it as a perfect opportunity to know him.
“Uh,” He chuckled. “It’s a D&D party. We meet at the school and we play D&D together. That’s really it.” He shrugs.
“Really? Dustin’s never really told me anything about it. I’ve heard rumors though. Jason tells everyone you guys are practicing, like, Satanism.” At this Eddie busts out in a fit of laughter.
“Look, Jason is an asshole. He doesn’t understand us so he tells lies about us to make himself feel better. That’s all. In reality, we’re just different than him. We have our own morals and our own ideas about life and that makes us freaks.” You nod, sympathizing with his plight.
“I understand. I was the same way when I was in school. I guess I still am. I was always so different from everyone because I valued my grades and I didn’t want to party every night. I also don’t care about sports which didn’t help. That didn’t make me very popular.”
“Standing up for what’s right? Even when it goes against the status quo? Oh yeah. You’re a freak alright. And all freaks belong in Hellfire. Welcome to the Club.” With this, he extends his hand to you. You take it, shaking his hand firmly as you smile at him.
"Does that mean I get one of those cool shirts?" You ask, gesturing to the Hellfire Club shirt he had on.
"Oh absolutely. I think you'd look totally hot in it actually." He admits, leaning into your shoulder which makes you blush. "I'll have one made for you as soon as I'm, you know, not wanted for murder." At this you both let out a light chuckle. "Hey, I've actually got a favor to ask." Eddie began. He suddenly looked very nervous. "Van you go to the high school and pick up my homework for the week?" You watched his eyes, trying to detect any humor but there was none.
"Oh yeah. Of course." You say with an earnest smile.
"Thanks. I swore I was gonna graduate this year and no creepy ass monster is  gonna stop me if I have anything to say about it."
"Yeah. My pleasure." This time he returned the smile. "I think the school's actually still open for the day. I can go now if you want."
"Yeah, that'd be great. I'll be fine here."
"Okay. I'll pick up some food on the way back." With this you stand. Eddie stands as well, moving across the room to a backpack on the floor. He digs around before pulling out a handful of cash.
"Thanks Y/N. You're the best." Hearing your name come from his mouth made you smile. With money in hand you headed for the door.
"Wait!" Eddie called. He ran over to you and fished through his back pocket before pulling out a twenty and handing it to you. "Get yourself something nice." He gave you a wink and you ran out the door. It was all you could do not to trip on your way out. The thought of Eddie winking at you renewed your blush as you got into your car.
You drive to the high school, running inside so you didn't have to be away from Eddie for long. You asked the front desk attendant for Eddie's homework, explaining that he was sick and unable to come into school for a while. She told you to stay put while she made some phone calls. About twenty minutes later she returned with a stack of papers. You thanked her and left, heading for the grocery store next. You only looked for the essentials like bread and milk. It didn't take long before you were headed out of the store. When you stepped outside you realized that it was getting dark so you were ready to be back for the night. You were struck with an idea as you drove. You were sure it had been a while since Eddie had eaten anything of substance. When you saw a pizza place on your left you knew exactly what to do with the extra twenty dollars. Unsure of what pizza he'd like you ordered a cheese before skipping back out to your car, hot box in hand. The drive back was shorter than the drive to the school. You headed into the main house to put away the groceries before anything and then headed out back to the shed.
When you stepped into the shed your heart practically leapt out of your chest. Eddie wasn't there. You searched every corner but there weren't many places in the shed to hide. If there were any you checked them all. Frantic and terrified, you ran into the main house. Your first stop was the kitchen. He wasn't there. You called out to him. "Eddie!" Next you checked the bedroom, the office. It was your first day being Eddie's protector and you had already lost him. Dustin was gonna kill you. Forget Dustin, Eddie needed you. Filled with a mix of strong emotions you realized there was only one place left to look. "Eddie!" You shouted again as you cracked open the door of the bathroom. You were struck with bouts of embarrassment when your eyes recognized what they were looking at.
Eddie was dripping wet in nothing but a towel. His hair looked so perfectly shaggy when it was wet and his bare chest glistened, showing off his tattoos. The sight of him was almost too much for your weak heart as you stood there frozen. However you noticed that Eddie didn't seem embarrassed. Instead he seemed pleased. Amused. A wicked little smile curled up the corners of his lips.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to-- I'm sorry." You blurted out, shuffling out of the room and closing the door behind you. As soon as you were back in the living room you collapsed on the couch, letting out a small squeak into one of the pillows as you buried your head. Now you were the one that was gonna kill Dustin. He had been the one to put you in this position and now you had witnessed your crush almost totally naked. As you thought for another minute you realized that maybe you should be thanking Dustin. You had definitely enjoyed what you'd seen. He was very thin, his skin smooth and clean. The thing that had really gotten you steamed was the small trail of hair that led to what was hiding beneath the towel. Just thinking about it now had you breathing a little more heavily.
"I take it you liked what you saw?" Came Eddie's voice. You sat up quickly, twice as embarrassed as before. Eddie still didn't seem angry. He seemed to be in a teasing mood, to your chagrin.
"I never said that." Was the only defense you had.
"You didn't have to sweetheart. Your eyes did all the talking for you." As much as you wanted to continue defending yourself you found that you had no response to him. You knew that he was right.
"I'm sorry." You repeated.
"It's okay," To this he adds a chuckle. He walks over to you, sitting on the couch next to you and places a hand on your knee. "I think I've already made it pretty obvious that I dig you Y/N. So no need to be embarrassed. I thought it was cute." You were at a loss for words. Had you understood him right? He liked you? Did you he like you the same way you liked him? Or did he only like you as a friend? Eddie seemed to sense your inner turmoil because he spoke again, breaking the awkward silence. "What is that smell? Tell me you didn't get pizza."
"Yeah. Is that okay?"
"Are you fucking kidding? I am starved and I haven't had pizza in forever. It's perfect. What kind?"
"Cheese."
"God, that is my favorite. Thank you Y/N." With that he leapt off the couch and ran for the kitchen. You shook away the cloud of thoughts in your head and followed him, opening up the pizza box for him. He happily stole three slices, stacking them on top of each other and running towards the shed. You closed the box and followed him. When you got there he was seated inside of the rowboat, eagerly devouring his pizza. You smiled, happy to have made him happy. You took out a slice and plopped down in the rowboat across from him. The two of you sat there in silence for a while, simply eating your pizza. After a while Eddie broke the silence.
“So, I’ve got something really important to talk to you about.”
“Okay.” You say cautiously.
“To be a part of Hellfire you have to play D&D with us.” He said with a tone of mock seriousness. You scrunched up your nose.
“I don’t know how to play.” You admitted.
“I know. Which is why I’m gonna teach you.” As soon as he said this he hopped out of the rowboat and ran over to his backpack. “Now, I don’t have all my supplies but I’ve got some paper. That’s enough to explain the basics.” He looked through his pack as he spoke before pulling out a piece of paper and a pencil. You watched him walk to the middle of the room where there was empty floor space and spread out with the paper in hand. You felt the urge to join him so you did, sitting on the floor beside him. He glanced at you, offering a smile.
“So, how do we start?” You ask.
“I’m so glad you asked. Basically, it’s a roleplaying game and you’ve got a character that you play as. There are a ton of different characters that you can choose from. The dungeon master,” He points to himself with a grin. “That would be me, determines the plot of your game and you get to play within the world they create. It's important for you to know how gameplay works. So you've got your dice right?" As he says this he digs around in the chest pocket of his vest before producing an oddly shaped die. He takes your hand in his own, turning it palm up so he can place the die there. You turn it over, looking for the highest number. Twenty. A twenty sided die. “This is just one type of dice in the game. You use the dice to determine the outcome for your character. It can tell you how much damage you take or whether or not something happens.”
“Okay.” You nod along, letting him continue.
“The higher the number you roll, the better the outcome. The lower the number you roll, the worse the outcome. Get it?”
“Yeah, I got it.” You say with a smile.
“There’s a lot more to it if you really play the game but those are pretty much the basics. I’d go into more detail but it’s already getting kind of late,” You nod, looking out the window to see that it’s dark.
“Yeah, we should probably get some sleep. We’ve got a long few weeks ahead of us.” You realized as soon as you said it that you had no idea how long the two of you would be here. You just knew that you didn’t foresee things ending anytime soon. With a sigh you looked around for some kind of bed and didn’t find anything. “Where are we sleeping, by the way?” You asked him. He chuckled.
“Good question. There’s an air mattress that I’ve been blowing up at night. Then again, it’s not very big. How about you sleep in the main house and I’ll sleep out here on the air mattress?” As much as you hated to admit it, you didn’t like that option very much.
“Sure. Whatever works.” You say with a shrug before gathering up the rest of your things and heading for the main door. Before leaving you turn around to face him, shifting from one foot to the other. “I know things are crazy and I wish it could be under different circumstances but I’m glad that we get a chance to spend time together.”
“Me too, Y/N. I honestly never expected to like you so much.” With that he turned to start blowing up the air mattress. You wanted to stop him. To ask him what he meant. To tell him that you liked him too. To run over and hug him or kiss him or something but you knew you couldn’t. So you walked out of the shed, making your way into the main house. It was dark when you got inside so you flipped on a few lights before making your way into the bedroom.
It didn’t take long for you to be ready for sleep. You slid into the strange bed, slightly uncomfortable with the idea of staying by yourself all night. However, it wasn’t long before you were drifting into an uneasy slumber. Soon enough you realized that it wasn’t meant to last. Your sleep was interrupted by bad dreams and restlessness. You tossed and turned, trying to rid yourself of the unpleasant feelings that were flooding your body but there was nothing you could do. You were doomed to your current state. That is, until you came up with another idea. Dragging yourself out of bed you slipped your shoes on and made your way out towards the shed.
When you stepped inside it was dark and you had trouble maneuvering to where Eddie had set up his mattress. Unsure of how to wake him up, you decided to shake his shoulder lightly. He woke up with a start which scared you as well.
“I’m sorry. It’s just me.” You say. He rubs the sleep from his eyes as he faces you head on, trying to make sense of what was going on.
“Y/N? What’s wrong?” You contemplate your answer for a moment.
“I couldn’t really sleep in that big house by myself. I thought maybe I could sleep out here with you.” He sits fully up now, still facing you.
“There’s only the one mattress.” He says as if that will deter you.
“I don’t mind if you don’t.” You say with a bit of a goofy smile, watching closely for his response. At first you are afraid that he’ll reject you outright. You tense up preparing for his biting words.
“Yeah. Yeah, I’d actually really like that.” He says with his trade mark Eddie smile. You can’t stop the blush that creeps onto your cheeks. “You’re so pretty when you blush, have I told you that?” He inquires to which you just blush harder, taken aback by him.
“No.” You find yourself saying. He begins sliding over on the mattress, making room for you. With one arm he lifts up the blanket so that you can slip underneath beside him. Immediately you’re struck by his warmth. He sends a wave of heat through you as you back up to his chest. Once you’re both comfortable beside each other you shut your eyes, already feeling at ease now that he’s with you. Before you can settle in for a long night’s rest he drapes his arm over you, hugging you closely to him as his fingertips dance over your stomach.
“Good night sweetheart.” He mumbles in your ear and a shudder crawls up your spine. You mutter a good night to him and close your eyes. The two of you curl together like that until the morning, finding comfort in one another’s company. When you both wake up neither of you say a word about it. A best kept secret you both think. However, you wish more than anything that history would repeat itself because it was the best sleep you’d ever had.

I present to you: the greatest au, Goncharov Ronance au
So ofc Nancy is Katya. Literally, they are one and the same. We love gun wielding, emotionally repressed, badass lesbians in this household.
Robin is Sofia! She and Nancy have just,,, so much tension through the whole fucking thing like Katya and Sofia. And Robin in that cocktail dress!!!
Steve is Goncharov, our tragic hero who destroys himself. (I’m writing this from Katya/Nancy’s POV tho, sorry Goncharov)
Eddie is Andrey, and I’m enjoying the idea of him in an eyepatch.
Nancy and Steve were married, but obviously they have their respective homoerotic partnerships with Robin and Eddie.
Katya’s father dies = Ted Wheeler dies, score!!
Ofc the boat scene with Ronance!!! It’s incredible!!! Nancy bleeding out, almost dying while Robin whispers sweet nothings and tends to her wounds.
The apple scene! The tension is red delicious, come on. And don’t even get me started on Nancy protecting Robin.
Nancy threatening Steve feels like retribution for the movie theatre scene in Stranger Things, even though the doesn’t happen in Goncharov. Let Nancy Wheeler threaten to shoot people 2022
God, I know Katya dies and betrays Sofia but,,, I’m a soft bitch and I’m changing it. I’m thinking the betrayal still happens, but instead of burying our gays, Robin comes back because she loves Nancy and saves her, and then they end up forgiving each other.
Just. Ronance in Mafia suits!!! Tell me you see the vision!!!
The Beer Scene? Enough said.
Oh, and Argyle is ice pick Joe because it’s funny.
Oops I accidentally ignored the main characters, but come on, Katya!Nancy and Sofia!Robin deserve the spotlight
Not to mention the clock symbology matching up so well with Vecna’s clock!

***********************
The breeze picked up around you. You shivered, but didn’t move. You ignored the looks. Ignored the whispered words and judging gazes. You stayed rooted to your spot. Tears streaking your face every few minutes.
A pack of footsteps and whispers pulled your attention momentarily. You could hear a voice that you recognized. He was debating on approaching you.
“She doesn’t look like she wants to be bothered, Henderson.”
“She’s grieving, asshole.”
The words came to a halt, so did the footsteps, when you looked up and met their eyes.
It’s the group.
The people who were with Eddie when he died. The people you both blamed and appreciated for Eddie’s last few days on earth. You had mixed feelings about seeing them. They were brave for approaching you. You could see the fear in their eyes.
Steve. Robin. Nancy. Dustin.
“H-hey…we just wanted to check in. See how you were doing,” Dustin said, sorrow coloring his words.
You knew what Eddie meant to him.
He’d meant a lot to you too.
You didn’t respond to him.
“We’re really sorry about what happened. Eddie was…a great guy.”
Tears began to run down your cheeks as you cut your eyes away from Steve Harrington and back out to the woods that lined Eddie’s trailer park.
Again, you said nothing.
A few more whispers were exchanged. You could faintly hear Steve trying to convince Dustin to let you be. The kid refused.
They continued to bicker until you finally broke your silence.
“Did you know Eddie had a cat?” Your voice was painfully hoarse, and it cracked with your words.
You didn’t look at them but you could tell you had their attention. So you went on.
“Yeah, he came to my house one day. I don’t know if I’d seen him that excited before,” you sniffled, getting lost in the memory. “He had the thing bundled in his jacket. All matted and dirty. It was skin and bones. And hissing like crazy.” You smiled wistfully as you conjured up his face in your mind.
Trees rustled as another breeze swept through, trying and failing to dry your tears. There were always more.
“Eddie’s hands had scratches all over. But he was like a kid on Christmas. Excited to show me. And I was convinced the thing had rabies,” you laughed, the sound watery and broken. “But he said it just needed some Eddie Munson TLC.”
Your gaze caught a rabbit in the distance. It stood still as it sniffed the air. After only a second it darted off, as if sensing the danger that lingered here. The death.
“So that’s what he did. He gave it a bath and fed it. Nursed it back to health. And it became his shadow.”
Somewhere, you could hear shuffling.
“He named it Munster.”
A sob wracked you suddenly. It was powerful and all-consuming. You had no control as tears poured from your eyes and your chest physically ached with pain. It felt like he’d taken your heart with him when he’d gone. Like he’d ripped it from your chest at the same moment his stopped beating. As if you’d taken your last full breaths with his. You’d never know peace again.
You could feel their uncomfortable gazes on you. Watching a broken woman fall into smaller pieces. Dustin hovered close by, as if waiting to swoop in and comfort you.
You regained some semblance of control and looked to the sky, willing it to open up and swallow you.
“That’s the man they labeled a killer. That’s the man they hunted,” you rasped, eyes darting to the group.
Emotion filled your voice. Anger. Rage. It all simmered for a town and its people who never cared about him. Never cared what became of him. They just wanted him gone. And they got their wish.
“They’ll never know the Eddie I knew. They’ll never know how truly amazing he was. How they pushed him. They pushed him and made him believe he was less than. A coward. When he was one of the bravest people I’d ever know.”
Dustin’s eyes filled with tears. Steve swallowed and looked at the ground. Robin sniffled. Nancy stared at you, sympathy in her large eyes.
“They killed him. They killed him and I’ll never forgive any of them.”
You shook your head and squeezed your eyes shut, willing for the millionth time that you’d wake up from this nightmare.
But nothing happened.
“He saved our lives. He’s a hero,” Dustin whispered.
You nodded, wiping at your swollen eyes. “He sacrificed his life for a town that wanted him dead. He sacrificed for you.” You stared poignantly at each of them. “And I hope you never forget that. Because he didn’t deserve it. He didn’t deserve to go out that way. And you didn’t deserve to have him go out that way.”
A calm vitriol laced your words, but you could see the effect it had on the group. They each had the decency to look remorseful.
Steve opened his mouth to say something, but you turned away.
“Thanks for stopping by,” you cut in, effectively shutting the conversation down.
You waited as they each turned and walked in the opposite direction, Dustin lagging behind.
“Dustin!”
He turned abruptly at your voice and made his way back over, Steve lingering in the distance.
“Thank you. For all that you did for him. Up until the end. He loved you. So much.”
Dustin’s tears were free flowing as he nodded, wiping at his eyes and looking every bit of the child he still was. He dug in his pocket and produced Eddie’s pick necklace, the sight of it making your heart seize.
“Here.”
He held it out to you. You took it with shaking hands, feeling the weight of it. It felt so different without being attached to him. It felt wrong.
“You keep it.” You shoved it back at him. “I’ve got plenty of Eddie to keep me company,” you gestured to the abandoned trailer where all his things still waited for you.
Dustin silently nodded and put the necklace back into his pocket. “He was metal up until the very end,” he said softly, meeting your clouded vision.
More tears fell as you laughed. “I bet.”
“And he told me to…,” he struggled to continue, voice choking up. “To tell you that he loved you. In this world and beyond.”
You closed your eyes, hearing Eddie say those words a thousand times before. When you were half asleep in his bed. When you listened to him talk about his D&D campaign. When you both sang along to the radio in his van. When you sat in the audience at his band’s shows. When you threw fries at his mouth, laughing when he missed over every shot.
Memories flooded you. And then the sky opened up and rain began to fall.
Dustin left you there.
You stayed there for hours. Feeling the rain. Letting it soak you.
“Goodbye Eddie.”

More absurd stranger things “hot takes” from tiktok that I know the intellectuals on tumblr will chuckle at followed by homophobia:
Steve was framed as an asshole in s1 for no reason: he was a douche bag… he used queer as a slur to Jonathan, brought up his abusive father and missing brother as well as his mothers mental health, he was extremely insensitive about Barb, self centered, and slut shamed Nancy for the whole town to see… this starting point is why his development is so good and why everyone is surprised he’s actually a nice person every season afterwards. He wasn’t even right to break the camera, Nancy has agency and the ability to fight her own battles, Steve doesn’t own her. Jonathon and Steve were both assholes and treated as such by the narrative.
Barb gets brought up for no reason and was a bad friend to Nancy: Literally what??? She gets brought up because of Nancy’s guilt for getting her best friend killed??? Barb was a good friend to Nancy. She didn’t want to go to the party but did after Nancy pressured her and told her to “make sure I don’t do anything stupid.” Nancy pressured her to drink, which resulted in her cutting her hand which is why she died. When Barb tried to make sure Nancy didn’t do anything stupid like sleeping with a guy after she’s been drinking, Nancy told her to go home… but she DIDNT. She stayed there to make sure Nancy was okay afterwards and drive her home and ended up dead. Also she wasn’t being clingy because Nancy was “branching out.” Steve was a dick! He was a fucking douchebag hanging around absolute assholes that mocked Barb at every opportunity!!!
Steve’s reaction to Robin coming out was unrealistic: I’ve been seeing comments practically fantasizing about hatecriming gay characters like straight up saying Steve would’ve hit Robin or sneered at her… not even citing the fact Steve used queer as a slur in s1… just wanting homophobia for the vibes… like fuck off it’s not realistic nor is it even in character, Steve’s development includes not being a dick to people different from him
Homophobic reactions to Will and/or Robin coming out: NO CENTRAL CHARACTER IN THE SHOW WOULD HATECRIME OR CALL ANYONE A SLUR. Or even be that weird about it, literally no one. This includes Hopper actually. Joyce, Jonathon, and Hopper have KNOWN Will is gay since s1. Mike, Lucas, and Dustin are Will’s friends and have been dealing with the slurs and bullying Will has faced… they wouldn’t do the same. Robin already came out to Steve. El literally does not know what gay people nor homophobia are unless Jonathon decided to tell her. Nancy is the most likely but she is also too smart for that and rebelling against conformity and her parents lifestyle is her thing. Gay people existed in the 80s!!! And the defining trait of all the characters in the show is that they don’t fit in with society and are outcasts (except for Nancy and Steve… and Hopper) the main theme of the show is unconformity or whatever.
The fucking pronouns thing: They’d just be confused or think you’re stupid, Nancy would probably tell you to get a tutor. Also it is a tv show with monsters who CARES if someone makes a stupid video for the trend. Also again since people forgot, GAY PEOPLE EXISTED IN THE 80s JESUS CHRIST THIS INCLUDES TRANS PEOPLE
Eddie’s bandana means nothing: Nah, the duffers know. Forgetting wills birthday? Bad. However, will also had august 28th as a bday pre-s2 and no other birthdays are ever relevant or even mentioned except for the offhand thing from Suzie. They don’t care about birthdays, character design though? They very much care about that. Eddie is an entirely new character that requires zero continuity… plus he has handcuffs in his room… the show runners know lol. Definitely won’t say anything though because Eddie is gonna die and they don’t want that backlash

At this point, the Duffers’ disregard for any character with trauma is appalling.
At best, these characters end up sidelined and miserable, like Will. At least he’s still alive, but his trauma from the Upside Down and his complicated feelings toward Mike are completely ignored and serve only as angst fodder or to drive Mike and El’s dynamic forward.
Max’s trauma from an unhealed relationship with Billy and from seeing him die serve to spur her growth for a short time. However, ultimately she puts herself in harm’s way for others and she is left at best disabled and at worst brain dead.
In the middle of the road, you have characters like Chrissy, who was at least well liked enough that people cared when she died. But her ED and her mom’s verbal abuse were never addressed.
Then we have characters like Barb and Eddie, who are mourned but only by a few and for a very short time. They and their trauma serve as plot devices for other characters. Or you have Patrick, who died but had practically no impact on the story.
At the very worst, we have characters like Billy, who was subjected to a lifetime of abuse by his father with zero support from anyone. He died alone and unmourned, and was constantly demonized for his trauma and for never having the chance to heal from it.
The Duffers don’t care about trauma or the message they send to trauma victims. It’s a convenient narrative tool to them, and nothing more. And if that’s not a messed up story to tell, I don’t know what is. Maybe they’re unaware of the message they’re sending, but if they are they’re ignoring a sizable portion of their fanbase. I have precious little faith that they can fix all of this in a single season.
