FINALLY

after NINE. HOURS. (NOT including meals and sleep) ITS FUCKING DONE.

A complete floorplan of the entire Harrington house. Including too much thought about random, throw-away lines from characters and squint-to-see-it background glimpses inside.

plently of stuff in the actual house is altered or straight up ignored in favor of following the fiction logic and because I Wanted To. A lot of this is motivated by my headcanons for the Harringtons and how I'm writing them in my fic, but I'm also certainly not an architect so it's by no means perfect. It is, however, unreasonably canon compliant in the few bits we do see.

Thought Process (for context):

the darker shaded floor areas are lower than the rest, some bits like the garages having stairs and some areas like the sun and dining rooms list being like a step lower. Windows are marked with dashes along the outside, sliding doors are two thin lines slightly overlapping, stairs change color as they diverge from the level we're looking at, and furniture is eyeballed so don't look to closely a the scale.

not all closets are labeled, just the ones i figured could be confusing. Steve and the guest rooms have closets i promise.

the laundry room and pantry are not the same size but by the time i noticed i was exhausted. so pretend they're both more reasonably sized.

i don't know what the floorplan symbol for garage door is and then i forgot to look so the headlights point to where the doors are and you can see them clearly in photos so yeah.

The general layout is based on the idea that the Harringtons are or were into hosting dinner parties and business meetings in their home, especially as a young rich couple looking for respect in their circles (Mr. Harrington taking on his father's business and reinforcing that power, Mrs. Harrington climbing her own social ladder and building an image).

So the house is laid out with hosting areas towards the right with the office big and near the dining room because it's more than just a workplace, it represents him as a businessman. In canon the entryway and living room both have very high ceilings and no second-floor above them, so I'd imagine they're also aware of how the top floor looks from below, hence the fancy double/french doors to the master bedroom which is in plain view from below. Steve's room and the guest room are's nearly as visible.

As for the kitchen and sun/pool rooms, I see them more as secondary hosting areas that aren't used as the main location most of the time and are more this background setting to these events that still feel rich. The kitchen is massive and mostly for dinner-parties and Mrs. Harrington's social events.

The kitchen and main bathroom's placement is based on a line Steve said to Barb giving her directions to the bathroom: "down past the kitchen, to the left". With the massive living room on the left and wanting to keep the dining and office close by, i interpreted the "to the left" part being like "find the kitchen, then turn left". And with the rest of the area being open-concept, the bathroom would be the only normal door over there and easy to find. it's a bit of a stretch with just that line, but it makes sense to me with the rest of the context for the layout.

the basement is similar to this, though not as openly displayed so I imagine its for slightly closer friends. Theres a garage door down there so I figured Mr. Harrington might have a cool car he shows off, like he's letting people in on a personal detail about himself. There's also a guest room down there (the only one still considered 100% for guests, more on that later) for those people.

beside the basement garage, there was originally one main garage that holds two cars, obvious Mr. and Mrs. Harrington's cars. I imagine they bought the house before having kids, so a third one wasn't on the mind but after having Steve they added the front one (either turning the carport into a closed garage or they never had a carport and added a whole new addition, up to you)

Both garages lead to the same part of the house, and that area is the only one besides the water heater room that is purely function over effect. It still looks good like the rest of the house but it's not made to be fancy because guests would rarely need to be over there if at all and it's not noteworthy from other parts of the house.

In my headcanon, Steve's room used to be a guest room, staying his room from nursery to present with Mrs. Harrington renovating every now and then. Its one of those places in the house that doesn't have to look perfect for all to see, so she gets creative and has fun with it.

The upstairs guest room is also unofficially Mrs. Harrington's room, based on a line where Tommy mentions a fireplace in "his mom's room" instead of "guest room" or "parent's room" or "master bedroom". I belatedly realized this could be a solidarity thing with Steve hating his dad and calling the master bedroom his mom's room, but that was after 9 hours of this and im not changing it but there you go. In this version, I imagine she leaves the master some nights because her marriage with Mr. Harrington is failing (cheating and all, I wouldn't want to be in the same bed with someone who cheated either)

the master bathroom was an executive decision, just looking at the house in canon and not having enough space in my first attempts, i decided the triangle roof part above the dining and office could fit a master bathroom.

LWA: Just some random stuff on a Sunday morning!

Missing scenes: Furfur's book of angels includes "bishop" as one of Aziraphale's jobs, and as we've already seen all the others on the list, even if only in deleted lines (the music tutor was originally in the Rome scene), I would guess we'd see that one as well. Not necessarily a good fit for 1650, though, although since Gaiman has done things like have the Bastille still standing in 1793, anything's possible.

Assumptions about character progression: I think there's a tendency to assume that Crowley and Aziraphale develop or ought to develop towards something "better" as the series progresses, but that's not quite right. They become more /complicated/, which is a neutral--dare I say grey?--concept. The novel and series both deny that good and evil are steady-state aspects of character: you /aren't/ good or evil (or something in-between), you /do/ good or evil (or something in-between). S1 Crowley, as both Gaiman and Tennant have said, has no real character arc, but one of the reasons I think the fandom needs to pay attention to my favorite bugbear, the child murder manipulation subplot, is that it is also about moral complexity. Flood-era Crowley offers the moral absolute "you can't kill kids." Armageddon-era Crowley runs Aziraphale over with a trolley problem in order to duck the more unpleasant reality that if you're fine with someone killing a kid for you, you're fine with killing kids. (I have to say that the sentimental "Crowley wuvs Warlock" headcanon is one of those instances where supposedly-positive fanon constitutes outright character assassination, right up there with "Aziraphale had an affair with Oscar Wilde" [oh, do /not/ get me started on why that's horrifying].) The series is on the side of Flood-era Crowley and Madame Tracy, not the "developed" Crowley. Meanwhile, Aziraphale learns how to lie, which is a skill that can be put to different moral purposes in different contexts. Sometimes it's unambiguously good, like saving Job's children; sometimes it's ambiguous-to-evil, like concealing the Antichrist's whereabouts from Crowley (revealing this knowledge to Crowley would mean more pressure to murder the child, but his rehearsed speech suggests that he's willing to let Heaven handle it, perhaps, which is not a viable moral alternative).

AWCW and being "impressionable": one of the funniest things about Crowley is that in some respects, he's every bit as conformist as Aziraphale is, and sometimes more so. His unreliable narration about the Fall hints very strongly that, as you say, he just went along with the "cool kids"--which, despite his protestations to the contrary, /is/ a moral failure on the terms set out by the novel and series. Even later, both Crowley and Aziraphale rebel in ways that maintain the fiction of the overarching system (the Arrangement) rather than dismantling it entirely. Crowley also enjoys his job, especially in the novel. Which, to be clear, is also a moral failure: slacking off is, hilariously, the most moral choice he and Aziraphale can make. FWIW, for me, neither the novel nor the series are "burn it all down" narratives, in part because they both advance a theory of humanity that suggests burning it all down just gets you the same thing from a different direction. The most radical political ideas are given to a conspiracy theorist and to children, and the Antichrist concludes by rejecting all of them and hitting a literal reset button. Pratchett may have co-written the book from a place of "anger," but anger can lead to a lot of different political practices. Obviously, YMMV.

LWA✨ woke up today and chose analytical violence, what a legend

1. see, i feel like 1650 could work for aziraphale's bishop occupation, even if only mentioned retrospectively. theoretically, he could well have been a bishop before the abolishment in 1646, and exploring the episcopalian polity vs presbyterianism argument of the time could be really interesting narratively (especially if handled somewhat like the resurrectionist episode)... but detail aside, even if by the time we see him in 1650 it's only mentioned casually that he was a bishop "a few years back", i don't think it would be entirely out of field. we don't necessarily need to have everything played out on screen!

2. okay, a lot to unpack here, but essentially i agree. the issue it seems to me is to posit moral absolutes in the first place; there will almost always be a contextual 'except'/'but' clause that comes along with it that turns it on its head.

it's bad to kill children, except when they are the antichrist and could bring about the apocalypse.

it's bad to lie, except when it would prevent unimaginable cruelty and grief being wrought on those that don't objectively deserve it.

it's bad to manipulate and brainwash a group of people, except when there's no lasting harm done, and you were only trying to demonstrate to someone that you love them.

it's good to try to further human medicine and prevent needless suffering, except when doing so puts the desperate as the first to fall in the figurative battlefield.

it's good to forgive a huge debt when you don't have any necessity of it being paid, except when it's primarily borne out of materialistic selfishness.

neither character does anything so completely reprehensible, or alternatively so inarguably irreproachable, that someone, somewhere, can't or won't argue a justification for their actions. we individually, according to our own moral compasses borne of our experiences, may justify or condemn what they've done in the narrative - objectively, the morality behind their actions as we've seen them so far is never absolute.

eg. for me, crowley's plan on killing the antichrist, a child, in the specific context of GO is not the condemnable action here; its the manipulation of getting aziraphale to do it because he, personally, will not do it himself. i understand why, but the thing that i personally consider to be unambiguously bad is not killing the antichrist itself, but instead the fact that crowley considers that the only solution to the hellhound being named - ignoring the 'running away' that crops up later, for a moment - is to underhandedly manipulate someone he cares about into doing it instead of him. however, others may see it differently.

who is to say what is 'better', anyway? what even is 'better'? is 'better' to do things only when it's for the benefit of other people? is doing 'better' for your own self not also worthy of consideration? is 'better' wholly only when doing something that is kind or generous to others, rather than being kind or generous to yourself?

whilst crowley hits certain moral epiphanal milestones before aziraphale does, neither have the full right of it - aziraphale should not hold morality to being plainly black or white, dictated to by a set of absolutes that are so basic and lacking in complexity that they are by all accounts redundant. and crowley should not dismiss alternative choices or solutions just because they do not fit his perspective or reasoning, nor hold that his understanding of morality is the only viable one or is the only one with any weight or validity. ep6 imo succinctly demonstrated this.

both of them are still so young at the flood. aziraphale holds that whatever has been decreed by the source 'of all that is good' must therefore be good (and choosing to not see beyond it) and crowley acts so incredulous that something he sees as being absolutely bad would ever be entertained (despite, you know, having been cast out of heaven for 'just asking questions'....). both of them by the time of job have had a pretty seismic shift in that respective naivety - aziraphale begins to question what god actually intends, and crowley acts stoutly bitter and unsurprised by the assignment. neither reactions are compatible still, they constantly circle each other, and literally indicate that some level of understanding (of god, of her will, of morality 'in the real world' itself - take your pick) is still lacking.

re: Oscar Wilde and warlock hcs (i couldn't let these stroll by without comment)... god, where to start. re: warlock, i never begrudge any hc where it's borne out of a developed fanon background. that's arguably one of the main benefits of having the fanon side of things: to develop a point/event/gap in the story for yours and others' amusement - that's cool! for this example, any fic that gives more insight into their years in warlock's life, and therefore gives legitimacy to crowley having a fondness for warlock - yep, i like that! that's awesome, i could see it as an unrealised narrative, but that's where it firmly stays, for me - in fanon.

but i do get frustrated when certain narrative points are pointedly ignored in order to establish a character trait that would otherwise not exist. crowley in canon does not - to me - demonstrate any fondness towards warlock. he literally proposes the option of his murder! i don't think him refusing to entertain killing warlock himself indicates any sentimentality towards the kid - thats a bit of a stretch, imo - but instead it reflects on his character being, put reductively, a bit of a knob sometimes.

as for aziraphale and oscar wilde... yeeaaah. i think anyone that holds that hc seriously needs to reevaluate the implications of it, and whether or not beyond professional (?) respect for his work aziraphale would willingly want to associate with him... ultimately, i refer back to my above point about "...anything so completely reprehensible...". and, respectfully, perhaps there needs to be a little more separation between michael sheen's filmography and aziraphale's narrative - whether in hc or canon.

3. right, AWCW time. i agree re: his conformity to the 'cool kid group' being something that is deserving of scrutiny on his own morality, but i feel like this only is viable once that association goes beyond a certain point (and an arguably arbitrary one at that). essentially, i think it's possible to still see AWCW's decision to associate with the group as understandable and empathetic. we know from the narrative that a) AWCW starts hanging out with them at some point, and b) that lucifer et al. are in the end considered bad people. but were they actually bad at the time that AWCW comes across them? if they were, did AWCW himself know? we don't really have enough narrative to reliably confirm this.

but we do know that AWCW fell, and it's therefore rather likely that he continued associating with them past a point where he would have known that they were Bad News Bears. in the beginning, he may have just been glad that these people seemed to listen to him and make him feel valid for having questions - that's understandable. but as time goes on, as lucifer etc. hypothetically get more and more questionable in their actions and beliefs, AWCW presumably choosing to stick with them, possibly even defending them, confers the deserving of negative judgement onto AWCW in turn (presuming there's no element of coercion or blackmail involved, mind you).

i like the point you raise of aziraphale and crowley respectively not conforming to their inherent purposes (being an angel or demon respectively) when it benefits them personally, being an almost accidental 'good thing', especially when the story puts forward that, however you look at it (ie. whether bc they are lazy, or it poses more excuses to see each other - immaterial), the arrangement is entirely self-serving. 10/10 narrative irony. but this is kinda going back to one of our first asks, LWA - it is for me once again the key difference between rebellion, and revolution:

so whilst i agree to a certain point that the 'burn it all down' narrative may not be a viable option, or is at the very least a reductive one, i think that the question is what it is replaced with, if at all. adam hit the reset button and put earth back to how it was, because what humanity and earth was - by my interpretation - was just fine as it is. it's not perfect, but not worthy of being destroyed in totality.

so what can we say about heaven? is it a mirror to earth in this respect? i don't think it is. heaven may well have been intended originally as a neutral party with the best of intentions, and then pigeonholed into being the 'good side' following the fall, but it has been allowed to fester and corrupt. maybe we will see more in s3 that there are other angels that feel that heaven as a system is flawed (personally, i think we see this in saraqael's introduction to GO, but that's just my interpretation of the character so far), and maybe those angels will represent the part of heaven that is still redeemable.

so okay, yeah, maybe heaven shouldn't be completely gutted and dismantled, but it is not in the same place as earth is at the time of adam's reset. earth and humanity were arguably the innocent parties in their prospective destruction, whereas heaven has sown their own seeds for it. i don't think the two are entirely comparable. heaven does need a major realignment, and i personally don't think this can happen without some form of systematic reform, without revolution (especially if the wider fandom's evaluation of metatron is true come s3!). it needs reworking with an alternative system that works to be fairer, and removes any binary rhetoric of good vs. evil. don't ask me for the minutae of how this should happen, because i have zero idea (well, very little, anyhow), im not that clever.

but this is what i hope aziraphale will actually be successful in come s3. he can't just - in anger at the injustice of it all - set heaven on fire and walk away from the ashes; it will invite for the original regime to rebuild or something worse to take its place. that being said, it's not just him that needs to do it - to build an alternative to heaven in his own image is equally questionable. again, this is the suggestion that i liked in the armageddon 2.0 meeting in ep6; the idea of democracy in heaven, even if the current board is less than ideal (and the point could poetically hark back to the hypothetical 1650 flashback...?).

Bearhugsandshrugs Update – April '24: Discord, beta reader match ups, WIPs, book writing!

Hey all, it's been a while since I shared an update!

TL;DR: Updates on fics, community things, and my life!

Last time I told you about the book proposal I wrote for my agent, and I managed to complete that and submit it! Even better news was that she liked it. So I will refine parts of the story I wrote to incorporate her feedback, and then in a month or so it'll go out to publishing houses in the hopes that someone buys it! Keep your fingers crossed for me so your girl gets published :)

Admin: Discord Server, Community, Pinned Post

In case you missed it: I launched a discord server where we hangout to talk about Gort and writing. Last week we finished the first writing buddy match up, where I paired six writers with a buddy so they can beta each other's fics. It made me super happy that the community came together in that way!

There will also be a super cool event coming soon that @littleplasticrat came up with, I'll share more on that next week when I have more headspace to give this the hype post it deserves. Just teasing a bit: it does involve Gorty and fashion :3

I also published a new lore & theory masterlist for BG3 and I'm working on compiling the drabbles and headcanon lists, too.

WIPs

In March I already told you that I was moving all WIPs to May, maybe even June. Since I'll be traveling in May, I might or might not have time to work on the WIPs.

Worthy Chapter 3: Structure is drafted. ETA hopefully in May

Folie Chapter 7: I scrapped the entire structure. While I'm motivated to write Raph and Haarlep again, I'm not particularly fond of my original idea so I have to redo the last chapter, ETA probably June

Durgetash series (concept linked) and Raphael series (concept linked): on hold for now. Neither of them grabbed my attention long enough for me to do more with it.

There's one fic/art trade I'm going to write for @tatterings and it's likely either going to be Astarion or monster fucking. So keep an eye out for that.

Series

Both MAD and Gorsimp are continuing! I'm sketching out Act 3 for MAD which we're about to enter. Due to life stuff I changed to posting schedule to every two weeks for MAD, while Gorsimp continues to update 1-2x a week (mostly thanks to @bloodlessbhaalbabe's incredible discipline on keeping us on a schedule).

And in more MAD news, I made a playlist for that fic! Give it a listen if you want to cry.

Other stuff

I'm slowly coming back online after a few really bad months of physical and emotional health turmoil. I'm okay for now and I've been taking care of myself, creating some distance from the fandom to protect my peace of mind, and I'll probably continue to take it slow for a while.

Last time I said I'd do another giveaway when I hit 1k followers. Since I've barely been on I haven't made much progress – it's about 50 followers or so away, but this blog isn't really growing right now. Guess I'm getting a much needed break from taking on too many WIPs :D anyway, I just wanted to say it's still on my mind, but I don't particularly feel the need to promote it because it'll happen when it happens.

Something cool to celebrate in the meantime: Folie à Deux hit over 1,000 kudos on AO3! Crazy to me!!! Thank you all so much. For funsies, I will not include coffee, tea, colorful things, sea creatures, or beatrix on this post because those are givens and I go on and on and on about how much I love those all the time.

LET'S BOOM-DE-YADDA THIS THING I LIKE @mercurialmalcontent! They make me incredibly happy. Their fiction makes me happy, their thoughts on books and videogames make me happy, their face makes me happy, the way they think makes me happy. The things they like about me are things I wouldn't realize about myself in a billion years, it's always a delight to see what they'll think next. Also if you've read something of mine and really liked it, it's very likely that it's because they edited it; they are *so* good at thinking up things that make a story go from mostly decent to FREAKIN' EPIC.

I LIKE WHEN VIDEOGAMES LET YOU MAKE REALLY AMAZING CHARACTERS. One of my favorite things about baldur's gate 3 is that there's so much you can do with with your character creatively--I have been devouring all sorts of wonderful stories and comics and designs and concepts. FFXIV has some amazing warrior of lights too--the sheer amount of lore and history and headcanons floating around are just amazing.

I LIKE WHEN VIDEO GAMES HAVE REALLY COOL MONSTERS. These are the creatures that instantly make me go, "IT'S MY BABIES, MY BABIES ARE HERE." Often these are monsters that I want nothing more than to adopt. The Endermen from Minecraft have stolen my heart and are likely taking turns carrying it around like a grass block. In FFXIV there is an entire family of mandragora plant monsters with their own pasts and hilariously dramatic stories. Secret World Legends has humanoid Familiars that toddle around a school making wheezy screechy sounds and I love them. Baldur's gate 3 has these Silent Hill-esque nurses that I want to put somewhere safe and care for. Same goes for the Noonwraiths and the Spoon Wight from Witcher 3.

I REALLY LIKE HORROR STORIES SET IN CREEPY HOUSES. Does the house have a curse? Is something in the attic? Is something in the basement? Is it full of ghosts? Is it full of memories? Does the house exist in different universes? Is it stuck forever in time because all the clocks stopped when That Bad Day Happened? Is the house conscious and aware of the people inside it? Does it magically grow hallways and stairways and new rooms until the people inside are hopelessly lost? GIMMIE.

I LIKE FOOD IN JARS. Yeeeah it's kinda silly, but I do. Storing dry beans or lentils or pasta in them and tucking them safe in the cupboard like I'm a little squirrel. Making quick pickles where everything looks like a cute edible snowglobe. Storing freshly washed fruit in jars. (Really, soak in water and white vinegar for a bit, pat them dry, and stick'em in a jar, your strawberries and stuff will last longer!)

Views on shit for writing: I reaaallly don't subscribe to the whole concept of proship/antiship. I take requests on what I'm comfortable writing.

I DO accept nsfw requests, but only within appropriate age ranges. I am comfortable writing age gaps but please dm me and i'll write something on a different site, same with any other typically "taboo" requests. I will not release a "will not/will write" list because that's just inviting problems.

If you'd like nsfw x a minor!character, please specify in the ask if you are also a minor. If there is no age, I will deny the request. I won't write underage smut for adults. I also probably won't push it past an M rating.

Minors I write for:

ProSeka: Honestly realistically most of these characters are minors, but like we don't all know teenagers aren't celibate. Vocaloids don't canonically have ages but since they're all kinda minor-coded, I'll just stick to M max for proseka.

Genshin - Qiqi and Klee, Sayu, and Yaoyao. Diona is NOT a minor, she runs a bar 🙄. Bennett/razor/fischl/anybody who uses the "teen model" I consider 18 at least.

9-1-1: I'll write any of the kids as a side accessory to their parents, unless you want a Gen piece about the kids. I love writing Chris & Denny :)

Dc: Ages are played with a lot in DC, so any characters that are generally accepted as minors/adults will be treated as such. I.e: Damian Wayne, Jon kent will be treated as kids unless you specify a universe where they're older (like when Older!Jon came to that one Earth)

BALDUR'S GATE 3:

The ONLY characters I won't write for this are LAE'ZEL and MINTHARA:

Minthara: killed her and saved the tieflings. No real interest in having her as a companion so I haven't seen any content with her.

Lae'zel: get back to me when she doesn't excuse slaughtering and colonizing entire towns lol. I'm native and the gith creche slaughtering the entire temple of lathander (as. As a cleric of lathander also) and she was like 🤷‍♂️ we live here now. I was not cool with that. Fingolfin

one aspect about them i love

Leading several thousand people across a desolate wasteland after cutting ties with their deities is THE most insane thing anyone does in the Silmarillion. This is true, and every time I remember Araman is right there as an option it makes me insane.

He is the single most interesting leader in this whole book for that. I don’t think it can be overestimate what a feat of every kind of resources it is. The commitment it takes, the huge amount of - even social control you need to have, to keep so many people united to the same goal, when the goal means fighting another worse deity, and vengeance, and sublimating the grief of the many partings and direct religious trauma while surviving the Arctic and facing constant privation?

In a way it’s a good thing everyone is busy creating steel-strong community concepts while on the Ice, because otherwise it would be a gigantic nightmare to deal with that fallout. The fact that he maintains the Flight of the Noldor as a Chase of Morgoth, creating unity and a shared ideal to maintain - the fact that his host only splinters under Turgon’s direction? Insane.

one aspect i wish more people understood about them

It is not even so much about Finwë, although of course it is also about Finwë.

Being ambitious is not a crime! It is however a strong character trait, and a way to define one’s life when it’s very existence is a cause of philosophical debate.

But politics, governing, those are Fingolfin’s true crafts, and Fëanor insisting on being always a step up on the dias and above him is maddening, and to a point feels like he is outright trying to stifle his calling on purpose.

Which he is, although perhaps not in a would-steal-your-forge-along- with-father’s-favoritism way. Not sure Fëanor cares to conceptualize leadership in such a crafting-equivalent way.

This may be more suited to headcanons, but I do think the idea that a social role can have such a strong impetus, even spiritual value to someone is mostly Vanyar, and having no material evidence of work, doesn’t fit so well in the Noldor’s material culture point of view about singular purpose.

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character

Big tea drinker. Not much of a musician. Loves cool tones (Indis sorrows for the adorable emerald green and amethyst-bright onesies he refused to wear). Also a smith, as all Noldor princes are, but his interests are tied to infrastructures - steam-energy mostly, awfully boring stuff for most. Runs life according to a constantly updated list of priorities in his mind, that include meal times, coups, trips with each of their kids, divorce settlement negotiations with Anairë, etc.

This made him the logistics genius the host in the Ice needed, and was in fact the kind of basilar confidence that led him to it - among other things, I'm sure he studied the journey to Valinor extensively. He knew it would be incredibly difficult in their circumstances, that many would not survive, that the loss would change them utterly; but he also knew it was not impossible, and therefore it ought to be made possible.

His confidence in himself in never entirely wrong, but sometimes misjudged; he knew exactly he would be able to land up to five wounds on Morgoth. The last two were a freestyle bonus :/

Fingon! Father and son, king and heir, bright flare of despair and the inheritor of hope - they are foils, they are parallels, and they are painfully, painfully aware of it. Would love to read a JSTOR article comparing their rules, up to the yearly tax reports.

one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more

Lalwen (not a surprise!). The sort of loyalty involved is so interesting to me, but also the true that has to be based off true understanding and belief. They’re each other’s ride or die, and the idea of generally very magnificent and polis-minded Fingolfin being bffs with his irreverent younger sister is very amusing and fascinating.

(Also Turgon! Turgon and his disappearing act - well. He kind of commited treason, in a way? Treason-ish. It’s certainly a very pointed denial of Fingolfin’s direct authority, that’s for sure. Like. I crack up every time I think about this. Turgon must have been a nightmarish teenager, he’s very much like his father.)

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character

Had a hard time connecting with Finarfin. They enjoyed each other’s company, mostly! Had a very clear understanding of who the other one is, which was even about 60% correct.

But the spark just isn’t there, and later on that’s something he grieves as much as Fëanor’s whole business. In part because idealized memories of Finarfin’s restful diplomacy are a succor in Beleriand, and in part because he has moments of clarity with some foresight, and sees Finarfin in a position of commander against Morgoth against his own.

That’s part of his despair - he thinks the war against Morgoth will go so badly it will be taken up against the elves of Amanyar in their own terrain, that all the efforts of guarding and defending in defiance will be for nothing, and even fair Valinor will perish with only Indis’ son to defend the Noldor.

This - is not correct. Finarfin fully takes the hosts of Valinor to Beleriand; but part of Morgoth’s power in battle is to take one’s worst fears and inflate them with the force of his own undeniable might. It gets him one dead Noldorin king, but also several painful scars, so really it’s a toss up on how well that works for him.

Do you know which Buffyverse character definitely exists beyond the gender binary? Glory.

She's a god, so she already exists outside of things like human comprehension and categorization so she definitely doesn't fit inside things we've created like rules and norms or social constructs like gender. She's also incredibly old and has existed for a very long time so she existed before such a thing as gender even existed, since human beings made that as a concept.

According to Giles and Tara, Glory "pre-dates the written word" and is "that which cannot be named". How much more gender binary-defying can you possibly get than being un-nameable and older than words like boy and girl, masculine and feminine, he and she and they??? Like us being the ridiculous mortal humans we are just gave Glory some pronouns because that's what we do but she definitely exists outside of our language and comprehension of gender. Glory just didn't have pronouns or a gender (or if she does we don't know how Glory identifies) so we assigned her one.

The entire thing where she shares a body with Ben I mean how much more trans person feeling trapped into a body that doesn't belong to them could she be??? She got sent to our dimension and crammed into a body she doesn't belong in!!!!!! I am screaming

Glory saying to Dawn, "This body? It's just a rental, Dawnie. Being human… it's like a costume for girls like you and me. Being something else…That's what we are." (5x21 The Weight of the World) Just!!!!! "a costume" and "being something else" like????? Glory is literally something else!!! Also, so is Dawn, but that's for another post haha. (Credit to @summrsbuffy for this one, they came up with it)

So now I headcanon that Glory definitely would ask her minions to coin neopronouns just for her. She'd probably say something about how she's "too fabulous to be referred to by the same words used for something as common as mortals".

You know what else Glory would love? Emojiself pronouns. She'd be using ones like 👠/👠s, ✨/✨s, 💁🏼/💁🏼s, and 🫧/🫧s

Have you ever heard someone try to address a group of people and come to the realization that so much of our language is gendered and watch them cycle through options like "ladies and gentlemen" or "prom king and queen" or "sir or madam" and try to come up with something that won't exclude non-binary people?? Or come up with a non-gendered specific compliment? They usually end up saying the most bizarre things ever!! Well, I have decided that this is exactly what Glory's minions are doing when they compliment her! They are saying the weirdest things ever because they are trying to compliment their god in a non-gendered way!!! They seriously say things like "glittering glistening Glorificus" and "your inconceivableness" who says things like that??? This is now the only explanation I will accept for the utter ridiculousness of their Glory praise.

Okay I am going insane thinking about this!!! I just found a list of all the things the minions call Glory and there's only one definitely gendered term in the entire list!!! Every other time they call Glory something gender neutral and mostly refer to her as some variation of her name or "one" just!! Look at this: "Most beauteous and supremely magnificent one, Most tingly and wonderful Glorificus, Shiny special one, Your elaborate marvellous one, Your terrifically smooth one, Your creamy coolness, Your extremeness, Mistress, Perturbed yet ultimately merciful one, Most silky and effervescent Glorificus, Your most fresh and cleanness, Great one, Your eminence, The magnificent glory, The beautious glory, Magnificently scented Glorificus, Your inconceivableness, Most glamorous yet tasteful one, Your highness, Sacred Glorificus, Oh... Summary: Headcanons about Eddie if he were to have a metal head gf!

a/n: AHH omg!! my first ever request done :D hope you enjoy!!!! :D

Warnings: None!! ;)

One FATEFUL day you guys met at the town record shop

You had one objective: finding a copy of the “Love At First Sting” album by the Scorpions on cassette

You were both looking in the same section, but due to your intense focus you hadn’t noticed Eddie’s presence

To you, the cassette was like the oasis in the middle of the desert, so of course as soon as you laid eyes on it you just had to have it!

However, things took a turn when a hand that didn’t belong to you grabbed it first

Unbeknownst to you, Eddie had gone in with the same objective

You tried to see if there was another copy, but to your dismay he had taken the only one in the entire shop

*sigh*

Luckily Eddie was still idling around the shop looking over other albums, so you approached him to see if there was any chance he’d give it up for you

Once Eddie caught a glance of you, he never wanted to look away again

From your Metallica shirt to your bitchin’ hair, he knew he wanted to get to know you more

And judging by your shirt and choice of music it was beyond clear that you had at least one common interest

A common consensus at school was that he was a “freak”, and you were no stranger to the concept of “Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson” that was attached to the boy, but you had never really gotten a chance to talk with him before now, and you weren’t going to judge someone just because others found him weird

Eddie ended up giving you the album, but on one condition: you guys had to listen to it together first

Eddie ended up inviting you to his trailer to complete the requirement

He wanted to show you some of his favorite songs while he had the chance, and opened your eyes (or should I say ears) to the mystical wonders of Black Sabbath

One thing that certainly did pique your curiosity was the sick guitar hanging on his wall

From there Eddie was MORE THAN HAPPY to show off his musical skills

You two began hanging out more often, listening to music together and showing each other new songs

You even helped Eddie come up with new guitar riff ideas and helped with scrapping up some lyrics too

Things really took off from there

Eddie really enjoyed your presence, and wanted to take things a step further after a little while

Knowing your favorites from all of your music sessions, he made you a personalized mixtape

At the end of the set list, there was something other than a song, but it was still music to your ears!

Eddie had recorded a message asking you if you were interested in being his girlfriend!

Of course you were super happy, and called him up as soon as you got to that part of the cassette and made it official

Eddie eventually introduced you to the band, and of course they all thought you were BEYOND COOL

You went to all of their gigs and even some of their practices

It made Eddie so happy that you supported him in his musical endeavors

You also thought it was super cute how passionate he was about D&D

He would always bounce ideas off of you, which at first you didn’t always understand as you hadn’t really played the game much before

But after a few lessons from the Dungeon Master himself, you created your character together and became a part of the Hellfire club

Overall Eddie was so smitten with you, and he adored that you both loved each other for who exactly you were :)

a/n: you are so galaxy brained for this one. I'll also be writing these concepts more like headcanons/blurbs just because it's a bit easier to do (and way more fun ngl)

also! I've plugged this playlist before on clean slate but I just have to plug it again because OP captures what I imagine bruce's taste is PERFECTLY with the grunge and nu metal

now, battinson's bruce definitely doesn't set out with the intention to make you a playlist... at first

bruce is one of those people that has to have music on while they work so he'll be fixing up the batmobile or working out when a song comes on shuffle and he just. starts thinking about you. whether the lyrics express his feelings or he just thinks you'd like the sound, he'll quietly make a note about it and the list just naturally grows on its own

I think bruce is into alt rock and metal—branching into the subgenres a bit as he's feeling out his taste—so expect a lot of music of that vein

(I do like the idea that bruce has also retained some of his parents' music taste which consists of oldies from the 50's and 60's ;-;; he has a lot of respect for jazz and swing and the occasional sappy love song)

for some reason I can't see bruce making you a digital playlist, like I really see him putting in the effort to make you a cd LMAO and he'll scribble on the face of it something like "for you" or "songs you might like" or something unintentionally cheesy so that you can pop it into your car stereo and listen to it in surround sound. he will try to make you something more portable at your behest BUT he insists you have something physical too. not to be soft but he's really adamant about you getting to hold the physical and audial amalgamation of his feelings for you

he is sooooooooo eager to hear your thoughts on the songs too!! I know I said bruce doesn't really set out to make you a playlist but I swear on bruce's electric guitar that that man spends hours combing over every lyric, every singer, and the order of the songs to make sure that it's flawless before he even THINKS about presenting it to you. and you know this loser will still try to be cool about it like leaving it in your vicinity and telling you to check it out whenever you get a chance

there are very few things I think bruce is readily prepped to info dump about but of those few things, cars and music are by far at the top of the list. you'll ask him about one of the songs he put on the playlist and he'll give you the drummer's entire life story just to explain the breakdown during one (1) part of the song

(something something sharing an experience intimately with the one you love something something carrying an arrangement of sounds and words and feelings around with you forever that reach back as far as one moment in one band member's life that resulted in one verse that now perfectly encompasses the love you feel-)

he really does try not to be too bothered if you don't end up liking it but like I said, dude's agonized over every possible aspect of this playlist and even if he doesn't want to show it, he ABSOLUTELY wants you to like it..... he'll very obviously watch you like a hawk when you come to give him your thoughts on it, hanging onto every word

if you like it he is OVER the moon about it. he'll get to work right away on a new one (though he won't tell you) and try to aim for a different vibe so that you have playlists for every mood like he does

(you cannot tell me bruce doesn't have playlists for every mood. he 100% has one just to get him pumped to leave the house for patrol lmao)

he appreciates if you're honest about not liking it too! while music is something very dear to him, there are so many other things that you two can share. it doesn't have to end there. he'll also probably try to make you a playlist of music you gravitate toward more, even if it's out of his comfort zone

if he knows you're lying about liking it he will be crushed. please don't lie abt ur feelings, you can tell him the truth and he'll find a rooftop and cry on it handle it like the adult he is

jk jk but no seriously, if you don't end up liking his song choices or maybe you both just don't share the same music taste at all, it's ok!!! bruce strikes me as the kind of guy who sticks very strictly to his favorite genre and isn't super comfortable branching out but music is a window into his soul, so why can't it also be a window into yours?

he will 100% ask you about your favorite artists and add their music to his usual rotation until he GETS comfortable with it (esp if you're hanging out with him in the batcave. he will hear you get excited and start singing along and laugh under his breath ;-; he might even sing along with you, but you didn't hear that from me)

we also know that bruce has a fucking electric GUITAR and he probably only plays it in his downtime when no one is around, but if you ask him to play for you, he'll... consider it

I headcanon that he wasn't trained in guitar, he just sort of played by ear for years and taught himself until he got decent at it, so he does worry that you won't be impressed by it. but whether you know how to play yourself or not, he would really appreciate any encouragement on your end and probably play for you more unprompted after the fact

(and maybe one day he might write you a song of your own...?)

hey do you have any tips for making splatoon ocs? I’ve never played the games but i’ve seen plenty of gameplay and lore videos and i want to make an oc but i have no idea where to start! You have super duper cool ocs and I thought maybe you might have a few good pointers for starting to make one!

first of all thank you, and second of all I have no idea what i'm doing but i might have some advice for making splatoon OCs. Really what kind of OC you want to make and how in-depth you want their story or footing in the world to be depends entirely on the individual person. It's pretty important to have a solid understanding of the world and setting but especially if you've done the research, you should have a pretty good understanding of how the game works, so that's already a good starting point.

First off, what I feel is important (and what i dont follow myself nearly as much as i should) is to figure out what kind of character you WANT to make, and then start drafting a basic concept based on that. When it comes to Splatoon, there's a lot of species to pick from (although Inklings are by far the easiest because they have the most context). But Splatoon also has a very unique setting and the world has potential for a lot of wacky things that you couldn't really focus on in other fandoms. So again, I don't do this that much myself, but making an OC that is clearly connected to the world and has a direct link with the series identity is always a good call. Once you have a strong start and a solid understanding of what kind of character you're working on (and you can change this later, OCs often evolve when you use them) it's a really good place to get started.

For example, you could make an OC that works at the grocery store (boring, we do that in real life). Or you could make an OC that works in collecting and selling Super Sea Snails from the woods and in the market stalls - we have markets, but there's also a hook of something that's Purely Splatoon, at its core - it is relevant to the WORLD SETTING.

(And also, by making up professions and minor things about the world, you're not married to what canon says or doesn't say. For example, everyone making their OCs work with Grizzco is kind of struggling with a vastly underdeveloped setting where Nintendo is still calling all the shots, because Grizzco is a real thing in the world, so you don't really have the freedom to make shit up and have to deal with whatever they say even if it's ridiculous.)

Second, and this is kind of important especially for people who aren't super involved with Splatoon: turf wars aren't EVERYTHING. Splatoon has weirdly broad worldbuilding for the type of game that it is. Turf Wars are just a sport - an extremely culturally important sport, but Inklings have Lives outside of Turf War and there's likely Inklings who don't do Turf Wars at all! What this tangent is getting into is that don't be afraid to set your OC footing that's unrelated to Turf Wars, and don't be afraid to break rules and come up with your own things for the world. There's a lot of wacky things going on and not everybody is going to do the exact things that are shown in the game. The curse and blessing of working with the Splatoon setting is that you have to be prepared to make up a LOOOOOT of headcanons for how anything works, because we really don't know a lot about... well, anything. The upside is that you can get really creative if you want to. Basically, it's good to use the game as basis, but you can really go places if you ONLY use it as basis and make up new stuff from there.

In terms of actual OC design: Inklings and Octolings are the easiest to work with due to the variety of designs we see for them in games and concept art. But if you're looking for other species, here's a list with species that appear in the Splatoon world. However assuming you're working with Inklings, I'd recommend looking at different species of real-life cephalopods if you want a character to feel unique. Base traits off of real squids or octopuses that exist (you could even use species as inspiration for what the character is like otherwise), but even outside of species, Inklings can have a LOT of variety in their body structure. So my point is you can do a lot more with Splatoon OCs than just making them a carbon copy of the playable characters in the game. Play with their body types, or eye shape, eyebrows, nose, ear length or shapes, et cetera. Inkling masks are also a good way to create interest in the design.

More Inkling-specific design: their tentacles. Now, if you're making a squid OC, they'll have 6 tentacles on their head - typically four shorter ones and two longer ones, although the game doesnt seem to differentiate on those much, judging by some hairstyles. Octolings however only have four tentacles, and they have suction cups on the outside. This is kind of the same as above: there are many canon hairstyles to pick from, but also don't be afraid to go nuts and do weird stuff with the tentacles. Inklings are known to trim their tentacles, cut them up into blocky shapes or even cut them into long strips or super-specific hairstyles that don't even really resemble tentacles anymore, and of course you can do different color combinations, scars, piercings, tattoos even. And of course if you're looking at real-life species as inspiration, you will probably end up getting ideas for the tentacles based on that. Basically, tentacles are often THE THING that sticks out about OCs.

The next best thing? Clothes. Full disclosure I really hate designing outfits (because I'm bad at it) but clothes do a lot to build character. Now, in Splatoon, clothes are REALLY not a problem because the game has such a big focus on fashion that you will never run out of options when it comes to what an OC should wear (Inkipedia has full lists of all gear from all games). But if you want to get really in-depth about what your character dresses in, there's also been blurbs of what kinds of brands the different clothes brands are and what kind of style they are known for - they have loyalists, basically. When it comes to gear, I personally don't like using the in-game gear much, mostly because I hate having to go out of my way to look at reference every time I want to draw a character. But there's a lot to choose from, and if you want to be original with it but still stick to the brand, you could make your own modifications of existing gear or make up fake new gear for your OC to wear.

But as a rule of thumb, what everyone wants from their OCs is different and I think the most important part is to just make something fun that brings you joy. So I hope this helped maybe? (I need to start using my own advice...)

Favourite thing? He’s the most some guy ever. Just a little creature. He’s so relatable because who among us hasn’t been in a situation where we feel wildly outclassed and surrounded by people who are cooler and more talented than us? Despite everything he just keeps going, what a legend

Least favourite is people who are wrong about him. How does anyone play that game and say he’s a nothing character? I just don’t get it, stop disrespecting my son

Honestly he’s got way more excellent lines than people give him credit for, but my favourite has to be “I always choose meat over veggies because I’m still in my teens… my meat teens.” Like WHAT are you talking about king I love it

Otp is Naegiri. There’s just so much mutual respect between them and the story does a great job of writing them together that I can’t help but love him

Notp is probably just him with anyone that’s not kirigiri, or togami really. Whilst I personally hc Byakuya as aroace I do get why people ship naegami and I do think it’s kinda hilarious

I hc that him and Komaru are besties. Absolutely attached at the hip. They hang out all the time and he loves doing stuff with her, and is so so excited to introduce her to his new friends

He’s such a bitch, he’s so snarky about everything, he’s simultaneously the smartest and dumbest person in any given room, and he actually cares very deeply for things but he won’t readily admit to it. He’s got one of the more interesting arcs to me and in general I find him very relatable. He’s the best, my favourite protagonist probably

Least favourite is maybe less about him and more about Izuru Kamukura, and that is how underused he was. Obviously this is an opinion many people know about me, but it bears repeating because the concept of Kamukura was SO COOL and they barely even touched it and I’m mad about it every single day

Another guy that has so many good lines, but I think my favourite is “I thought I’d finally become someone I could be proud of, not some fucking backup student.” It just hits me so hard every time

Brotp probably him and Fuyuhiko or him and Impostor. I just think those three are the ones in the group with the highest sense of responsibility and they are the tired parents of this silly goofy pack of weirdos

Otp. It’s Komahina. Everyone knows this about me and I will refrain from writing an entire essay about why but suffice it to say. They are prefect

Notp is really anyone who’s not Komaeda, but specifically Nanami and Tsumiki are big on the No list for me

I have so many headcanons that my adhd brain can’t even begin to process them in a cohesive way, so I’ll just say that emo-punk autistic Hinata is my absolute beloved. Also man’s definitely has an anxiety disorder. And nooooo I’m definitely not projecting why do you ask

Unpopular opinion (so far the only character I’ve had one for) is that he’s not bi, he’s just gay. And look I love headcanoning every character ever as bi (again tooooootally not projecting) but whenever I replay/rewatch the game I see him being so gay about the men and being so uninterested in the girls (excepted for the super-forced hinanami stuff that I ignore)

I have sooooo many songs so I had to think about this a lot but I think I’m gonna say the best Hinata song is Life Less Frightening by Rise Against

Shuichi Saihara, whom I am also normal about

It’s so hard to pinpoint why I love Saihara so much, but I think part of it is the fact that underneath his anxious exterior, he is actually very snarky. I’m always a slut for the sarcastic characters and I like the he is that as well as being generally polite to his classmates. He cares deeply and has a tendency to overthink things (totally not relatable) and I just need to give this poor man a HUG

Least favourite thing is how he interacts with Ouma in the canon outside of ftes. A good example of this being when he finds Ouma bleeding from the head on the floor and doesn’t seem to show any actual concern for him, which seems very out of character to me. I just think there was a lot more they could’ve done to build a connection between protag and antag that would’ve served to make the story more interesting, much the way the relationship between Hinata and Komaeda does

Short and sweet, my favourite Saihara line is simply “I refuse.” I am a big supporter of the idea that Shuichi should’ve been allowed to go a little crazy in chapter 6, and his whole telling off hope and despair speech was very fun. He really went “fuck you and your stupid game” and I just love it

Brotp has gotta be Kaito and Maki. I love the training trio and I think they have a great dynamic

Otp is saiouma. And yes I know I just raised a complaint about their lacklustre interactions in the game, but hey, canon can’t hurt me if I don’t look. There is a lot of potential for excellent character dynamics and that’s what I’m gonna focus on

Notp is saimatsu. Sorry anyone who likes them but it’s so comphet to me. Again, that is a gay boy and a lesbian, not a romantic couple

I hc that he really likes singing. Not to a professional degree or anything, but he does it while he works and it serves as a calming vocal stim for him. His voice is definitely very soft and sweet, which doesn’t lend itself well to his preferred genre of music (my sweet sweet emo boy) but that doesn’t stop him from trying

Again, so many songs I could choose from, but I will go with Swing Life Away by Rise Against because he’s just my sweet guy, my love, my boy

And once more, every image of Shuichi is my favourite, but I very specifically love his Serious Face sprite

I guess the takeaway is I like it when the protags get serious and start to shut shit down

Most out of touch and popular head Canon/theory?

(don't fell obligated to answer if you find it too controversial, no issues taken)

HAHA. Like 80% of the popular ones. As a vet of the game (and someone who, at the peak of their fixation, had 90% of the entire lore memorized (that was pre-Sumeru)), a LOT of fan theories/headcanons get popular on the rule of cool alone instead of actual probability

But here's a list of the ones off the top of my head that get on my nerves:

Pierro being related to Kaeya -> Annoys me to a rabid degree, doesn't line up with their timelines, doesn't make sense, overhyped

Dainsleif having raised Kaeya as a child -> Fun concept! Doesn't make sense with my understanding of either of their timelines, Dainsleif would have interacted on-screen with Kaeya earlier if this was the case (considering in 2/3 of the Dainquests we've BEEN IN MONDSTADT FOR PART OF IT)

Diluc/the Ragnvinders are descendants of Vanessa -> the og Ragnvinder could never pull her, sorry but he was kinda a loser, he was obsessed with a different Muraten (who DIED and that's what radicalized him), if he WAS directly descended from AN EXTREMELY PROMINENT HISTORICAL FIGURE LIKE VANESSA IT WOULD BE POINT BLANK MENTIONED, Diluc's bright red hair is a feature his family line has had since the Decaabrian era

Kaeya only pretends to like alcohol as an excuse to see Diluc in the tavern -> 0 reading comprehension here, Kaeya's an alcoholic because he has deep-rooted issues that he struggles to deal with the thoughts of, he's not faking it just to see Diluc, if that was the case Wine wouldn't be his hobby, his interest, one of the first thing he mentions in the serenetea pot, etc.

Kaeya choosing Mondstadt is the objectively "Good" choice and him choosing Khaenri'ah will make him inherently "Evil" -> Stupid

Fuckboy Kaeya -> Most awful mischaracterization of him ever get it AWAY I hate it

Kaeya hiding behind Diluc as a kid and being very jumpy/shy (in the OwOUwU sad boy way, not in the Kaeya Allows Diluc To Take The Lead And Keeps His Distance A Lot Because He Doesn't Want To Make A Mistake way) -> Eugh. Rubs me the wrong way, mischaracterizes him, feels like he's being babied, I hate it

Everyone and their mothers calling Venti's backstory tragic bc he lost his bestie literally 2,600 years ago -> Someone who wasn't trained in battle and didn't have protections in a rebellion against a god?? DIED?? WHO could have seen that one coming. Like sorry you lost your buddy pal Venti but also. IT WAS TWENTY-SIX CENTURIES AGO

Khaenri'ah being a war-bent nation -> Hey guys maybe a nation literally built by people who were persecuted by GODS is going to try and make some defenses against THE GODS. Was it a bad idea for them to make things like Ruin Golems? MAYBE!! Could they also have served more uses than just battle?? YEAH!!!! IT WAS A FUCKIGN UNDERGROUND NATION GUYS MAYBE THE MISSILES AND BULLETS WERE USED FOR??? FUCKING MINES. EXPANDING THE CAVE SYSTEM. I DUNNO GUYS LETS THINK REALLLY HARD FOR A SECOND. Thanks for the tag, @foibles-fables! (Also sorry to everyone who tagged me in fun stuff over the last few days, I saw too many at once and therefore decided to do none of them xD; but if you were curious about a particular question, please feel free to shoot me an ask anytime!)

Here's a list of five of my most favorite fics:

1. Prometheus Bound (Horizon; Aloy/Tilda)

My first long fic that kind of just kept growing. It was originally supposed to be three chapters, but then I fell in love with writing Tilda’s interactions with the GAIA Gang, which lead to Alva, Erend, Kotallo, and Zo all getting their own chapters. Then, to top it off, the final chapter had to be split in two!

2. Let Me Lay Waste to Thee (Critical Role; Imogen/Otohan)

My first (well really thee first) Imogen/Otohan fic. After thinking ‘is no one else seeing the hint of enemies to lovers potential here?’ for a couple months, I had my first "fine I’ll do it myself" moment. And boy am I glad I did, because now I would die for these two. I had to get creative with the Reilora as a concept and create a inexplicable psychic connection to facilitate the development of the ship over like 20k words, but imho, it fucking works, so, I’m really proud of this one!

3. The Stark Reminder (Critical Role; Imogen/Otohan)

This is the second smut piece I’ve written for the ship, but I think it’s my favorite so far. I got to dig into the softer bits of themselves they carefully keep hidden, and that was very fun to explore for two characters who hold a lot of animosity towards each other while simultaneously being drawn to each other through funky telepathic fuckery.

4. Aches and Pains of Various Sorts (Critical Role; Liliana/Otohan, and Imogen)

If you’ll allow me to pull a complete 180 now, MOON MOMS (ahem, i’m fine, i’m cool). This is the first of a huge series I’ve got planned, and from the first fic, I’ve fallen hard for this entire idea. Otohan and Liliana connecting over this mysterious power they share, and eventually reuniting and deciding to enter a dedicated partnership where they raise Imogen together is just, ugh my heart. First of all, it’s an outlet for all my Otohan headcanons pre-Apex War, which I’m very excited to dive into in the future. And on a more mushy note, I’m giving Imogen the loving parents and happy childhood she deserved.

5. When the Darkness Comes (Horizon; Silga & Untalla)

My 2022 Horizon Big Bang fic! Silga and Untalla are two NPCs in Forbidden West that never meet, but taking them and weaving a little (’little’ being a lie, it’s 35k) roadtrip adventure of them hunting down all the black box collectibles in game was super fun. As a bonus, writing the black box shorts---those final moments and small conversations of doomed soldiers---was a fun challenge that I’m really proud of!

Ok so I wrote these head cannons awhile ago but I want another persons opinion on this. I like want to dress like 70's/80's rocker kinda fashion and I was wondering how the slashers would feel about their s/o dressing like that. I just wanted so see what other people would think about it. Also I love your content keep up the groovy shit <3

You think I'm groovy 🥺🥺 highest compliment I've ever received I love you so much. Also, I dress in a pretty gothic/alt style if A) you want clothing advice or 2) someone to hype you up. Wear what you want, life is for us to enjoy and if you enjoy it by looking like a vintage rocker than look like a vintage rocker. Life is for us to make and enjoy. Also I just think you're really cool

Especially because I love Eddie Munson with all my heart, absolute punk metalhead heartthrob and yea anyways getting sidetracked lol. ON TO THE SLASHERS!!1!!11!!!

Vincent Sinclair: he's gonna be making heart eyes and his pencil is shaking in his grasp. The aestheticness is gonna make him absolutely implode (I get this way sometimes when something scratches my brain just right and I love it). He's going to take photo reference after photo reference, sketch you as a warm up exercise, steal every 70's-80's rocker piece of clothing he can find off a victim (if y'all are really close I feel like he would re-dress some of the waxurines to give you those clothes {or he may just have to update the clothes periodically, I'll come back to that some other time}). Swears he's ascended to heaven if he sees you wearing his band tees (WEARING YOUR PARTNER'S METAL BAND T SHIRTS IS HOT AND ADORABLE AND VINCENT LISTENS TO MENTAL AND ROCK I CANNOT BE PERSUADED). Overall, Vincent is supportive and obsessed, is a little sad if you dress differently but only cares that you're happy

Bo Sinclair: we love the cocky bastard because he's a cocky bastard. He thinks its such a dominant style, so he sees you wearing this stuff and thinks your trying to be more dominate or intimidating and thinks its cute when you try. I think he's dabbled in rock music and may have some sort of electric guitar around that he plays with (I couldn't tell y'all why but I see him as preferring bass guitar), so I think he'd try to play for you sometimes or try to teach you if you wanted. Will also keep an eye out for 70's-80's rocker clothes, and hell he might even buy some on occasion (this man shoplifts cause while he's from Louisiana, his ego is the size of Texas). I think he'd bark at poor Vinny to redress the wax guys so you could have some of those clothes. I think he would also have some metal and rock shirts, but he's not as in to metal as Vincent (but I think he'd like rock and soft rock {Poor Man's Poison is just Bo Sinclair vibes}). He'd also, maybe when drunk, like some soft rock like Moon Walker (I LOVE MOON WALKER). Is also cocky and smug when you wear any of his clothes

Michael Myers: I'm just now entering my metal era, and I just really like the idea of most of the slashers on my list being in to metal, its honestly one of my favorite popular headcanons so that extends to Mr. Long Blond Myers. I feel like he's the type to listen to heavy screaming loud metal to calm down and clear his head. I also think he'd like ICP??? Maybe??? No??? Maybe just a little- ANYWAYS while some people might see the style as kind of weird, he doesn't have that concept of normal vs. not normal. He thinks its really really cool, like he loves spikes. I think he'd either love or hate denim, like the roughness and heaviness would either be really comforting like his mechanics jumper suit OR that same heaviness and roughness would make him tear it off with his knife and kill an entire neighborhood. If he saw a victim with clothes he think you'd like he'd bring them to you and try to avoid bloodying them(ish). Like Vinny (again, ish), he'd stare and admire how you look. Would try to steal your clothes, rip them, and you would buy some that would actually fit his massive milkers. Would melt a little when you wore his clothes because its cute damnit. He'd be a little like a kid, absolutely fascinated by what you wear (and would also kill anyone who looked at you wrong).

Thomas Hewitt: As seems to be common along my headcanons, his family may be a little put-off or confused. Like Luda Mae would be hesitant (but I 100% believe that she’s an open-minded southerner), Hoyt would be an ass because he’s an ass, and while I don’t know a whole lot about Monty I don’t think he would care a whole lot. Thomas is a little unsure at first, he hasn’t seen anything like this before in his small conservative Texas town. But, much like the others, loves it. He thinks its so perfectly you and loves seeing what combination you come up with next. He’d try to save any rocker clothes he came across, and would probably pester Hoyt to buy you some. He can also sew, so of course he’s going to try to make you stuff. He’d sew on all your patches and help you strategically rip your jeans (I think at first he’d try to sew them up lol). While he loves this style on you and as how you express yourself, he wouldn’t want to try it himself. He’s happy with what he wears. ALSO considering how he’s been bullied and tormented his whole life, he will not stand to see that happen to you. If a victim even huffs at your clothing choices? He has his chainsaw running. Hoyt tries to give you shit? Death glare activated. He thinks you’re adorable and he loves you, so he will protect you from the things that have hurt him so badly in the past. Overall loves that you love that style and wants to protect you. Would also love to hear you play guitar, it makes him feel butterflies when you play (especially if its a song for him).

Brahms Heelshire: Here, I’m torn. He’s either going to have that childlike fascination of is going to think you’re dressed like a delinquent. Although, I think if he outwardly chastised your clothes, he would feel kinda giddy that you dress like that. Its like a rejection of tradition and propriety, and even though his parents can’t see it I think he would enjoy kind of “sticking it to them.” He’s finally getting a bit of a teenage rebellion, and a chance to get back at his parents for the shit they put him through. I think he would definitely like wearing your clothes, from t-shirts to denim vests (like Eddie’s). He may find the guitar disconcerting at first because its so different that the classical piano he’s used to, like I think it might be a little overwhelming sensory-wise but he starts to get used to it and actively enjoy it. He’d come up with duets for y’all to do on the guitar/piano. Now, this man don’t get out of the house, so he isn’t going to steal or salvage clothes for you, but he’d be more than happy to indulge you spending on your clothing. I can totally see him making like a pillow doll with your shirt if you had to leave for any length of time longer than an hour. He’d teasingly tell you to sew up the holes in your pants, or talk about how his parents would be so disturbed to see you like this. I think he’d incorporate some of your elements into his daily wear, like he’d possibly let you pierce his ear or try to find more rocker style cardigans. Would beg you to get rock vinyls, beg. It might take him a second to warm up to the idea, but he’d eventually love it.
