My favorite easy gyaru hairstyles

In this blogpost I'm gonna share some ideas and inspo for some not so difficult gyaru hairstyles!

The classic sidepony:

This is one of my personal favorites. It's so simple yet such a fun and cute hairstyle !

My ultra simple go-to if I got no time on my hands is a smaller side pony were u leave most of ur hair still down:

This is also really cute with 2 ponytails!

The messy bun:

This timeless classic is one I love with bangs ! I feel like it really elevates the look!

After you just put on a cute bow/scrunchie/whatever hair accessorie u prefer and ur ready to hit town !

The half up:

This one I think is really fun cus it's so versatile. It's a basic style u can both go very simple and very extra with.

It's a great way to make ur hair look big and voluminous without it necessarily being to difficult and time consuming. This hairstyle especially looks great with curly or wavy hair sense it makes the up and down part blend together more.

The bow-bun:

I'm finishing this post with a hairtyle I'm absolutely obsessed with rn ! It might take a few tries to get just right (at least if ur me haha) but it's so adorable it's worth it !

It's simple, it's comfortable, it doesn't require any hair accessories (except alot of bobby pins haha), and to me it's just so gal and so cute, what's not to love?

Having a mini breakdown over my style taste and music taste/subculture

I love LOVE the dramatic extreme style of scene and the upbeat tunes of the scene kid culture and I dress scene a lot as well it’s taught me how to make an outfit out of nothing and still look cool, I’ve learned how to expand my limits on how layered clothing works and I’ve even learned bass guitar to play he baselines of my favorite songs

I also really enjoy the more edgy flare emo music has and my most favorite thing about being emo is being able to express my darker feelings in a healthy way by dressing in what it feels like. Even if most won’t understand me I understand me!(most of my outfits have an emo touch to them)

BUT- I love goth (specifically trad 80s-90s goth) and all the wonderful music and people I’ve met through being a baby-bat it’s taught me how to be fearless in the way I wear my makeup and the songs I want to indulge in and I no longer feel shame with thinning my eyebrows for the look and I’m not embarrassed by the looks I get when I tease my hair after straightening it!

I also love to jump into Gyaruo/Ganguro/Gal fashion as well it’s even made me love the color pink again after hating it for years! I learned what actually being playful and carefree feels like and the amazing hyper music I listen to couldn’t sound any better! It’s even made me feel less gender dysphoric by wearing fem Gyaru clothing every so often while mainly dress gyaruo!

I feel like a fake trying to fit into these amazing groups and lifestyles and I really don’t wanna choose one since I love listening and wearing all the expressions I love! I’m not sure if this is a rant or not, but I’d love to hear if I’d still be excepted into these groups and circles without being labeled as a trend jumper because, I really am not. These elements have shaped me into the person I’m still learning how to be (sorry for bad grammar and spelling I was rushing while writing)

Yall idk what a true friend feels like anymore :/ someone who I truly cared about n actually had fun with blind sided me, I go to them to vent about one thing and all of a sudden I get called names by them then they got the nerve to say "not to sound rude" even tho you ARE , you're an asshole who doesn't kno what I'm goin thru inside my head or what I have been thru. My anxiety makes me feel like a walking contradiction it's a nonstop disease- ik there's things I have to do in life I just don't know how or when to do it so I've been reaching out for help as much as I can (I'm a college freshman) my friend calling me selfish and immature and comparing me to other people with more tough situations than me just completely invalidates my feelings and sounds like my parents. She then said "you can get a job when you're ready but with your schedule ik you can do it" she should've just said that before calling me names, if she cant understand how I feel that's her problem. She constantly ghosts me anyways and plus she could always come to me when she needs help like I do her so I dont get it :O

would u b willing to share a crumb of advice on how to pick colors? your coloring style is so efficiently simple and beautiful. how do u do it

ill be honest in saying I really dont know tbh, cause generally the way I go about art is that I just brute force through shit until it works/looks right for me lmao. However! Generally I recommend just kinda trusting the process, and by process I mean "Have a very clear idea of what you're trying to do and have as many reference material/resources at the ready." Shit like color palette prompts, mood boards, "aesthetic" images related to the look you're tryna go far, that kind of thing. Most of the color schemes I use in my pieces are directly tied to the aesthetic of the overall image I'm trying to make, which usually falls under Y2K/Neo Futurism/Scene/Industrial Goth/Horror In General yadda yadda I think you get it lmao

Like, sometimes, if it's something that's a bit out of my element, it takes me FARRR longer to figure out the color scheme of something. For example, that Gyaru-esque Ettie piece I just did! I was struggling really bad with the colors/patterns/overall color aesthetic in order to achieve something that could be considered Gyaru, however everything I was trying just kept looking like it was clashing too much for my personal taste. Which, like, is more just a symptom of me not liking having a million different colors in a single palette (I tend to try to stick to just 4, maybe 5 or 6 different colors at maximum) and Gyaru fashion tends to be explosively colorful and overly detailed by design. Anyway, this caused me to spend like, almost 7 hours just coloring the Ettie piece because I kept just redoing all the colors over and over again, and only stopped when I finally thought I had something that looked fine. I was looking at A LOT of reference photos I'd saved of various Women in different Gyaru styles, and I just experimented with what colors I was seeing in the photos. I think there is a whole like almost 5 minutes of the Ettie speedpaint that's solely dedicated to me just struggling on the color palette lmfao
