Hi! I looooove your writing!!!! If it’s no problem, could you right about the boys (specifically Meeks, but I saw that you write for all of them too, so whichever you prefer doing) having a huge crush on keating’s daughter and maybe asking her out?
Mr Keating’s Daughter | [Steven Meeks/fem!Reader]
"I don't know why you read that, you aren't going to follow it anyways," you muttered. You saw a smile rise as he put the book down.
"It keeps me occupied before classes start," he winked and you rolled your eyes. "Shouldn't you be heading over to your school?"
You scoffed, "Why can't I just go here? It would be so much easier for the both of us," you complained. He only shook his head.
"For you to be surrounded by cute boys to distract you? Now, hurry along or you'll be late for your classes."
You groaned before getting off and heading out. You began walking, you looked around the school and admired the building. The walls adorned by ancient photographs of past alumni. You smiled at all of it.
"Hello?" You heard a boys voice say, it snapped you from your fantasy world.
"Hello?" You said back staring in front of you.
"Do you go here?" He asked and you shook your head.
"I'm a teachers daughter. Just heading to school..." You said approaching him. You noticed him and really took in his features.
Curly ginger hair, brown eyes, and big glasses that took up most of his face. You saw his cheeks turn a rose shade of pink and you smiled.
"Sorry, you must not get a lot of girls around here," you smiled and extended your hand for him to shake.
"No, not really..." He mumbled shaking your hand.
"Well, I really should get going. Another tardy and it's a detention for me," you winked before walking away. He watched as you walked away, still in a trance he didn't notice Mr. Keating behind him.
[POV switch]
"I like you very much Mr. Meeks," he said startling him. "Keep your hands away from my daughter, okay?"
Meeks turned around and nodded nervously. Mr Keating walked away as he stood there frozen. No way that beautiful girl is Mr. Keating’s daughter. He shook the feeling away and continued his walk back to his dorm.
He had forgotten his tie, which wasn’t the first time he did that. He walked it, grabbed it, and walked back to the dinning room. The fuzzy feeling resurfaced, the thought of the girl came back.
He sat by his friends still awestruck.
“Meeks?!” Charlie shouted finally throwing a paper ball at him.
“What?” Meeks said startled, he looked at Charlie who had a smirk.
“Who are you thinking about?” Charlie asked mocking Meeks’ lovestruck look.
“None of your business,” he mumbled moving his food from one side to the other.
“It is so my business,” Charlie scoffed offendedly, “If there’s a girl I have to know!”
“Just leave him alone, he must really like this girl if he is keeping it from us,” Neil defended. The bell rang, saving Meeks from Charlie’s interrogation.
Meeks and Pitts walked besides each other.
“You have to tell me who this girl is,” Pitts said looking at Meeks who was much shorter then him.
“I don’t have to do anything,” Meeks mumbled.
“At least tell me if she’s pretty!” Pitts begged.
“She is very pretty,” Meeks blushed.
“You have go introduce me to her! It’s not everyday that we see girls!” Pitts pleaded.
“Obviously not. Besides she doesn’t go here…” Meeks sighed devastated. Pitts and him entered the classroom, they sat at the back of the classroom. Todd and Neil were in the same class but sat in the front, and Charlie and Cameron were by the windows.
Meeks had trouble concentrating in his classes, the girl was still on his mind.
English rolled around and they all walked together to Mr. Keating’s classroom.
“Good evening gentlemen,” Mr. Keating said smiling at the boys entering. “Good evening Mr. Meeks.”
“Good evening Mr. Keating,” they smiled walking to their assigned seats.
Class went on as usual, until the girl from before interrupted the classroom.
“(Y/n)?” Mr. Keating said as she waved to him.
“Last class was canceled so I decided to come… early.” She whispered walking to him.
“That’s okay, go on to the back and do some homework,” Mr. Keating smiled and patted her shoulder.
“(Y/n),” Meeks whispered.
“Sorry gentlemen, that was my daughter,” Mr. Keating announced. He resumed class without another mention of her.
Class was over as everyone packed up for their final class of the day. It was a short Study Hall class. Yet no one was talking about school or homework or how hard the Latin test was. The only thing people were talking about how beautiful Mr. Keating’s daughter was.
“I so call dibs on her!” Charlie announced.
“You can’t dibs a girl, Charlie!” Neil scolded.
“I so can and I so did,” Charlie smirked. Meeks rolled his eyes at Charlie.
They entered the classroom and split into a group of three. Cameron, Meeks, Pitts and Charlie, Neil, Todd.
“That must be your mystery girl,” Pitts whispered to Meeks who blushed.
“Can you two stop talking about girls? It’s Mr. Keating’s daughter have some respect!” Cameron scolded.
Pitts rolled his eyes at him and continued to talk about her with Meeks.
“Cameron is right, that’s Keating’s daughter. We should be respectful and not talk about her like she’s an object.” Meeks whispered to Pitts.
“Tell that to Charlie, he is going around announcing that she’s going to be his girlfriend.” Pitts whispered back.
“Charlie is starting to piss me off,” Meeks whispered.
Class ended and everyone walked to their assigned dorms. Meeks decided to make a detour to the restroom. Deep down he was hoping to bump into her.
He sighed as he climbed up the stairs with no sign of the young girl.
“Meeks?” He heard a feminine voice say from behind him. He quickly turned around to see her at the end of the stairs.
“Yes?” He responded.
She climbed up the steps and smiled at him, “I was starting to feel like you were avoiding me.”
“Avoiding? Why would I ever do that?” He laughed nervously.
“Doesn’t matter, want to walk with me? I forgot something at school and really should get it,” she smiled and Meeks nodded.
[POV Switch]
You walked besides the nervous boy and began telling him about your day.
“Janine is such a bitch,” you told him. “She’s cheer captain and is so taking my spotlight. I voted for Amelia to be captain but everyone always picks the cheerful two faced girl to be cheer captain.” You laughed.
An awkward silence began. You enjoyed the leaves crunching on the floor.
“So… tell me about your friends, how is Welton like?” You smiled and he shrugged.
“Not as interesting as your school. Being in a school full of boys is kind of lame. We take everything seriously and really aren’t allowed to enjoy ourselves.” Meeks complained.
“I bet, for the tuition your parents pay I would think the staff would be awfully strict. Where I go no one takes anything seriously.” You smiled.
“Must be nice,” Meeks smiled.
You shook your head, “In all honesty… I don’t think I’m being used to my full potential. I take advanced classes yet those feel so unchallenging. I’ve been begging my dad to enroll me at Welton or at the very least Henley Hall! I mean I think I could really use the challenge!” You laughed and he laughed with you.
You entered the school with Meeks following behind. You opened up your locker and took out your math and science textbooks.
The walk back was more quiet then the walk there. You could feel your heart beating quickly as your face reddened.
“So, call me crazy but I really like you,” you smiled at him.
“W-what?” He stuttered.
“Yeah! Although you aren’t very talkative I don’t mind! I can talk for the both of us,” you laughed. “I know my dad probably told you to back off, but I would really like to go out. There’s this really cool library cafe combo Downtown if you’re free on Saturday.”
“I’m very free on Saturday,” Meeks smiled.
“Cool. I’ll see you then,” you smiled at him.
You parted ways from Meeks to go to your dad’s classroom.
[POV Switch]
Meeks walked to his dorm his face red like a tomato. His heart was racing and it felt like he could collapse from a heart attack at any point. He entered his dorm and with a giddy expression.
“What happened? You were gone for like hours,” Pitts asked.
“Well, let’s just say I have a date on Saturday,” he smiled.
“Seriously?! With who? Keating’s daughter?!” Pitts exclaimed and Meeks nodded happily. “That’s amazing! Charlie is going to be so angry!” Pitts laughed.
“To hell with Charlie! I have a date with the prettiest girl ever!” Meeks smiled and flopped on his bed.

A whole bunch of random extremely specific headcanons I have been thinking about forever for dating all the different dead poets~~~
Charlie
Tumblr media
Hear me out
He’s the ‘tough’ one of the group
This is terrible but I think the dead poets made him tell Todd about Neil because no one else could bring themselves to. (I wanna write a fic about this so bad)
Charlie aggressively cares for all his friends
He needs someone to aggressively care for him
So when you guys are alone it takes time for him to lose his tough guy facade
But when he does he’s kind of a baby
Clinging to you
Wanting attention
Having someone to care for him is so foreign but he loves it and tries to care for you the same way.
You guys when you aren’t being all lovey and adorable are like partners.
Making joint decisions, just working well together overall
He likes to high five you and then kiss you
Like high five, grabs hand, pulls you into a kiss
Todd
Tumblr media
His parents literally never keep an eye on what he does over the summer
So he’s always over at your house or you’re at his
His house is gianttttt and has a pool
Not that he cares that much
But it’s impressive to say the least
Jefferey is the only one of his family who actually knows you’re dating
Like I said his parents don’t care like at all
But Jef is actually super nice and supportive
Todd gets lonely very easily
So if you’re not together he tries to call you
If you don’t pick up he writes about you
He gets the best gifts
Not because of money or anything but because he’s so thoughtful
Everything thing he gives you has an entire train of thought behind it
Modern day AU almost every time you text him he screenshots it and sends it to Neil asking how to answer
1950’s universe he’s one of the few families with multiple television sets and lets you watch whatever you want.
He likes sleepovers
And his favorite way to cuddle is him sitting up on the bed with you laying on his stomach wrapped around him.
Touch starved.
Meeks
Tumblr media
Gets sooooo annoyed when his glasses are dirty
He absolutely hates it
You buy him portable lense cleaner
He loves you period
Like everyone can tell this boy is in love
His love language is acts of service
So he’s always offering to help you with homework
He literally did your laundry once
He’s so down bad anything you do makes his jaw drop
On the floor
Stunned
You guys create your own secret language
He speaks it faster than you and usually say’s disgustingly sweet things
Great with kids
Great with parents
Plant dad. He loves those big vine things idk what they’re called but they wrap around the room

neil showing charlie photos of todd before the poets met him: look at him, my boyfriend! he’s so gorgeous!
charlie: he is. but i did think of something really mean to say.
neil: it’s fine, say it!
charlie: no! it’s too mean!
neil: is it mean toward me?
charlie: yeah…
neil: oh no, then please say it. it will be hilarious
charlie: fine, i was just going to say that it’s obvious that todd likes you for your personality

(excluding Neil's choices) what do you think would have to happen, or what do you think it would take for Meeks to go on a bender with the explicit intent of getting blackout drunk?
That is SUCH an interesting question, and it’s incredibly ironic that the first thing that popped into my head was The Day The Music Died lmao??
Honestly, when it comes to the Poets drinking for fun in general, I can see them being somewhat evenly split on “the usual suspects” (those who usually drink for fun) and the ones who get a kick out of watching their friends being idiots. I feel like Meeks (and Pitts too honestly) would usually fall under the latter option but they’ll indulge now and again with them because it’s fun
(or, alternatively, Meeks is like one of my friends and has a “once a year” policy that someone Charlie widdled down to “once twice a semester”, because it’s hilarious to see Meeks drunk and it’s an enjoyable enough feeling for him)
But blackout drunk? That’s tough. With the other Poets, I think I can safely say “Todd’s more a lay-down-and-be-numb-to-the-world type of guy like me” or “I can definitely see Charlie, Neil, Knox, and even Pitts trying to get blackout to wash away their feelings.”
Meeks seems pretty in tune with his feelings from what I’ve gathered? He doesn’t hide from it or others, as we’ve seen with his grieving. So he’s very emotionally intelligent as well as practically intelligent. I think if anything would make him want to get blackout drunk, it’s something he can’t talk about with anyone sober, something he can’t hide from but that he doesn’t want to necessarily confront.
I mean, it’s something I’ve seen with a friend of mine, to a certain extent. Like something just… happens that hits him especially hard, and it doesn’t really matter if the Poets would be understanding (because of course they would) — he has a hard enough time wrapping his head around it himself. And hey, pushing those ugly feelings down to chase a much more pleasant feeling that can take him out of that moment for a night sounds pretty nice
(don’t drink when you’re sad, kids 👍)

Dead poets society
Imagine being the dead poets partner:
Neil Perry
. He would be so sweet and romanntic. He would always buy you flowers and give you short but sweet kisses on the cheek, forehead or hand.
.He would keep glancing at you in class giving you warm smiles and on occasion He would pass notes to you.
. Your parents love him. He would be nervous to meet them at first but almost immediatly neil and your father would become close. Your mother always asked when he would come over again. They loved him like their own.
. You would attend the dps meetings and you would be friends with the other members quite quickly and soon you all would hang out together and yours and neils relationship got stronger.
. You were proud and supportive of him when he auditioned for the play and you cheered the most after he had finished. He was just as supportive and proud when you got to sing at your first show.
. Overall you two would be sweet and rarely fight. And when you do. Its over in the next hour or so.
Todd Anderson
. He would be so shy at first. He wouldn't know what to do or what to say. After a little advice from the boys he was going to ask you out. He got flowers and wrote a poem but when the time came. He couldn't say anything. He kept stuttering. You knew what he was going to say, afterall you felt the same way. You just smiled at him.
"W-what?" Todd asked after noticing.
You just laughed. "Yes" was all you said and you kissed his cheek deliactely. He didn't say anything. He just smiled and he couldn't stop for the rest of the day.
. At the start of the relationship, you would be the one making the move first. The first to grab his hand and kiss him and to say 'I love you.' But after a while, he would be the one grabbing your hand if your anxious or uncomfortable. He sometimes would kiss your forehead.
.He would be the little spoon pretty much the whole time. Unless you were upset or something or other.
. The dead poets and his parents loving your for making Todd so happy. Let's face it your just amazing.
Charlie Dalton
. He would defiantly be protective and quite sensitive. He would be the jealous type but pretend not to be.
. At times he would be romantic, taking you out for a auntumnal walk, or a picnic in the summer by the lake.
. You would rarely fight, but when you did, let's be honest it would be quite big. One time you had caught him flirting with another girl. And you didn't speak for a week. He eventually made it up to you by buying you flowers, chocolates and cuddles.
. If another guy started flirting with you, he would walk straight over, wrap his arms around your waist and kiss your neck.
. He would be so supportive of whatever you wanted to do, always be there for you no matter what.
. He would defiantly be the big spoon and read you some of his poems.
Steven Meeks
. He would be the sweetest boyfriend ever. He would always help you do your homework if you don't understand it. This has happend countless of times.
"Angel, it's simple, you just replace X with-"
"With that number I know, I just can't do it" You complained putting your head in your hands.
"Y/n you can do it just-" Steven started before you interupted him.
"No steven, I can't." Steven paused, you rarely ever called him Steven. He didn't like that.
"I'm just stupid..stupid. stupid. Stupid-" You started standing from your chair, meeks quickly followed grabbing your wrists.
"Hey, hey, baby. Listen to me. Your not stupid. At all. I don't wanna hear you say that about yourself. Ever. You hear me? You just have to to be patient. You can't work if your stressed. Just take a deep breath for me okay?"
You look up at him and follow his breathing while he holds your shoulders gently.
"No- no I can't. I-" Your voice quivers.
Meeks quickly pulls you to his chest and cradles your head with his hand and the other arm is around your waist.
"Hey, hey, shh. Shh it's okay angel. Its okay. I've got you. Your okay. Your alright"
You focus on his heartbeat. While he quietly hums to you.
"Listen to me, Your over thinking. Its not difficult. I'm going to help you. Soon we can relax. And I'll read you your favourite book. I promise. Is that okay?"
Once you've calmed down. He takes you back to the desk and he helps you. In about an hour, it's all finished. He kept his promise and you fell asleep in his arms while he read you Alice in wonderland.
. He's so proud and supportive of you. The rest of the group love you and charlie teases the both of you. You guys became an inseperable trio.
. His parents love you like their own child. And your parents are the same.
Knox overstreeet
. Knox would be the most romantic boyfriend ever. He would literally think your an angel from heaven. He loves everything about you. Your hair. Your eyes. The way you do and say things. Overall He finds you magical.
. He's always writing poems for you and singing to you.
. He loves to just to hold you in his arms and play with your hair.
. Sometimes you catch him just staring at you. To that you just smile back. You always kiss his cheek and holds onto his arm and he likes to kiss your forehead/ top of your head.
. He constantly has an arm around you.
. He would come come up behind you and wrap his arms around you and kiss you letting everyone know your his. To which charlie would just go...
"We get it knoxious. The angel is yours"
. Overall you love him and he loves you. A wonderful couple
Thankyou for reading. I'm taking requests now xxxx

Hello !! First I hope you’re doing okay and you’re having a wonderful day ! I wanted know if it’s possible to request a oneshot with Neil Perry ! Like their first big argument and good old angst about him forgetting a date to go hang out with his friends or whatever you want 🤭!! but with happy ending because I love him way too much !! Thank youuu and have a wonderful day again !
Promises [ Neil Perry x fem!Reader ]
You waited, dressed and ready to go. Neil promised, he said he would be there by 9 pm so that you could make it to your reservation. It’s 10:30pm now with no sight of him. You decided to call his number again to see if he would answer.
The person you’re trying to reach isn’t available, to leave a voicemail wait for the beep. Beep…
“Hey Neil, it’s (Y/n) again. Just wondering when you’ll be back? Return my calls when you’re able to…” You whispered the last part before hanging up. You turned your phone off, your heart sinking as tears began to form in your eyes.
Neil wasn’t the type to just forget about you or a date or a commitment just in general. What if he was kidnapped? Mugged? Robbed? Shot? So many thoughts ran through your mind. You began to hyperventilate, you got up and began to pace around your apartments kitchen.
“Please answer,” you mumbled looking at your phone.
12am rolled around and you decided to call again. Maybe he was caught up at work and his boss was being an ass.
“Hello?” Finally, Neil answered.
“Hey, where have you been?” You mumbled. You felt your body relax at the sound of his voice.
“I’m hanging with Charlie. He thought it would be a great idea to come to the bar for a couple of drinks. Why?” He asked. The feeling of worry vanished and was replaced with disappointment and anger.
“Goodnight.” Was all you mustered up. You hung up and walked to your bedroom.
A bar? Drinks? Charlie Dalton? You weren’t mad about the date. It could have always been rescheduled. You weren’t the kind to stop Neil from hanging with his friends. But, to miss all your calls? To ignore you to drink with his friends? All he had to do was call you and ask to change the date! You didn’t care!
You undressed yourself and put on your nightgown. You took your make up off and did your face routine. You did it all with furry. Your heart was racing and your hands were shaking. Tears in your eyes you laid in bed. You checked your phone to see no new messages. You scoffed and fell asleep.
The next morning rolled around as you began to get ready for work. For a brief moment you forgot about it. That’s until you received a phone call from him. You decided to ignore him. You didn’t want to start the day off on the wrong foot. You opened up your door and began walking to work.
The busy streets of Chicago gave you a peaceful vibe. People hated the noise of the city but you loved it. You were from a small town in Virginia and Chicago was such a different vibe from there. You clocked in and turned your phone off. You wanted no distractions, no messages, nothing.
You walked out of work and to your apartment. Walking from the elevator you saw Neil Perry holding a bouquet of roses. You scoffed and walked towards him.
“You weren’t picking up my calls so I decided to see you…” He said but you ignored him. You unlocked the door and slammed it in his face. He knocked on your door but you ignored it.
“Is everything okay?!” He shouted knocking on the door. You grumpily walked to the door and opened it. “I’m going to take that as a no…”
“Yeah Neil, I’m not very happy with you right now,” you scoffed not allowing him inside the apartment.
“What did I do?” He asked and you rolled your eyes.
“Not only did you have me worried but you also ditched me to hang out with your friends,” you explained and the realization dawned on him.
“I thought I was missing something, I swear I’ll make it up to you,” he begged but you shook your head.
“It wasn’t about the date Neil, I don’t care about it. I care that I was here, crying and worried! I thought you were injured, I thought someone had mugged you and left you to die! Do you ever understand how scared I was? I left you hundreds of messages! A ‘I’m fine’ or a ‘I’m out with my friends’ would have been great! But no you decided to not answer me!” You shouted with tears in your eyes. Your voice was shaky, “I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if you had died Neil, but you didn’t have a care in the world!”
He stood there, his heart aching.
“I didn’t know… Charlie took my phone and I was out with my friends. You know I haven’t seen them in years.” He said attempting to defend himself.
“This is pointless Neil. I just, I just don’t want to see you right now. I’m angry and disappointed. Your lack of empathy is sickening right now. I want to be alone,” you said slamming the door in his face. You leaned on your door and began to sob. The feelings coming all at once like a wrecking ball. It was like he didn’t understand how it felt to be up all night waiting for someone to answer you.
You woke up the next morning. Luckily for you it was your day off. You laid in bed with your favorite candy and confort show on. Your phone was on your nightstand charging. You sobbed every few seconds. You hated arguing with Neil, growing up your parents were verbally abusive towards each other. Arguing and yelling was the thing you always tried to not do.
You heard a knock on the door. Maybe you could pretend not to be home.
“I know your home,” you heard from the other side. Neil. You sighed and got up. You walked to the door and opened it.
“Before you start talking hear me out, please.” He said and you sighed. “I realize how big of an asshole move that was. I didn’t want to worry you or ditch you or cause you any harm. I had a rough day at work and well I need to blow out some steam and Charlie offered to take me to a bar and grab some drinks while the guys were in town. I forgot about our plans and while I was going to check my phone Charlie took it out of my hands. I didn’t purposely ignore you and the second I got it back I answered you. It wasn’t my intention to ignore you and I will be having a chat with Charlie about not taking my phone. Please forgive me…” He stopped and looked at you. Tears were falling from your eyes as you brought him in for a hug.
“I don’t like arguing with you Neil. I was just so worried yesterday. My mind doesn’t work like everyone else’s. My mind doesn’t go to ‘he is probably still at work’ I instantly think you’re being murdered or something…” You cried, your face nuzzled on his neck as he hugged you tightly.
“I promise it will never ever happen again, I swear it.” He whispered not daring to let you go.
——
A/n: Hey!! I’m going to start doing all requests now just so I can get some stuff out! Requests are temporarily CLOSED!!

TO EVERYBODY,
All of us feel the same burning anger
when we feel betrayed,
But always be the first to say , " calm down"
All of us can measure the same emptyiness
when our hands can't hold on anymore,
But we always seize to remind the devoid soul
to just " move on"
And we all break down, piece by piece,
when life kicks us at our worst
But do we ever miss the opportunity
to command others to just "be strong"?
Our hearts break all the time,
our minds go numb
one by one.
All of us know that it takes a lot
to just "move on"
And does it take courage and heat
to fake even a smile when you know
you gotta stay strong
Give us time, let others cry
and break down, just once in a while
For we might not feel the same level of angst
but we do get to taste every overwhelming emotion
turn by turn, one by one.
So,
Let us breathe when our lungs feel empty
Let us feel when our heart aches out loud
and let us deal with our stone cold mind
just once in a while, while breaking down.
No, motivation and empathy do not go rightly along
and there is quite a difference between being stable and being strong
Just hold our hand when we stare blankly
and let us hold yours when you feel blue
Give us just a minute of your ears
and we'll be the shoulders you cry on
No, it won't change anything nor will it make it easy
But oh, will it give us just another heart to beat on
So, the next time we see a being break down
Let's just hold their broken peices and make it all slow down
just once in a while, let's not stay strong.

"secret admirer" - dead poets society (part 2)
summary: a group of boys catches y/n's eye in keating's class
pairing: anonymous!dead poet x gender neutral reader
word count: 600+
previous | next
Tumblr media
Keating’s class wasn’t like the others at Welton. Walking into the classroom felt like a warm embrace and Keating himself stoked the fires of his students’ creativity.
But not today—not for Y/N.
They had never been so distracted in their life. Just walking into the classroom, Y/N debated asking Keating for a pass to the infirmary. Knowing they were being observed is one thing, but knowing exactly when is a whole other scenario.
Especially when they have no clue who’s eye they’re under.
Despite their nerves, Y/N took their usual seat. Two rows from the front, on the farthest row to the left. Not too close to be the center of any teacher’s impulse, but not too far away to get distracted by the rest of the class. Today was different, though. The only thing Y/N could bring themselves to care about was their classmates.
Y/N angled themselves in their seat in order to take in the classroom as students trickled in. In honesty, Y/N should have realized sooner that the culprit was in their English class—the amount of passion their classmates had shown throughout the year had never failed to take them by surprise. After all, Welton was not a place for passion.
Their eyes landed on a group of boys huddled around Knox Overstreet’s desk. Memories of the boy reciting a pathetic—albeit sweet—love poem to the class flooded their mind. The group of boys did always seem to be more enthusiastic about the class than most.
Despite telling their roommate they didn’t want to play detective, Y/N themselves straining to hear bits of their conversation—something about a book and finding a new meeting spot. They didn’t hear much as Keating entered the room and made his way to the front of the class. Charlie Dalton caught their eye as the group disbanded, sending them a wink and making a finger gun gesture at them.
Y/N couldn’t help but roll their eyes.
Dalton was a mere annoyance on a good day.
Todd Anderson walked to his seat in front of Y/N, and gave them a sheepish smile as he shrugged a shoulder in a “what can you do” gesture.
Y/N decided that was enough detective work for the period as Keating began a boisterous speech on Romantic contemporaries. All they wanted to do was lose themselves in Keating’s whimsy for the next hour, but a familiar envelope laying inside their desk compartment stopped any hope they had of forgetting about their admirer.
Moving as discreetly as possible, Y/N pulled out the letter along with their notes and textbook. The whole world muffled as they read:
From afar, I gaze, A silent, secret admiration, Your light shines bright, In my quiet contemplation.
And when you laugh, a melody, It dances in the breeze, I cherish each sweet note, With every sigh, I'm at ease.
Oh, how I wish for closeness, To bridge this gap in fate, To hold you near, not distant, To share life's love, not wait.
x, Yours.
Y/N couldn’t help the smile spreading across their face, nor the blush that accompanied it. They were so engrossed in the feeling that they didn’t notice the satisfied gaze they were receiving from afar.
The rest of the period passed in a haze, and Y/N was thankful Keating wasn’t a fan of pop quizzes. Y/N could barely focus on where they were, let alone absorb anything meaningful from the lesson.
Their eyes locked on Steven Meeks—thank God Keating had called him by name that period—shoving his notes in his backpack.
They had to act, and it was now or never.

Random Ted Lasso headcanons because…why not:
Roy is an absolutely PHENOMENAL cook
On the other hand, Isaac can’t cook for shit like my guy burns water EXCEPT for breakfast foods. Isaac makes the best pancakes, waffles, French toast, etc.
Ted and Higgins both go to pride every year and wear a “Free Dad Hugs” shirt
When Frozen came out, Phoebe forced Roy to watch it so many times that he could’ve probably quoted it word for word (he took her to see Frozen 2 and ended up running into Trent and his daughter)
Whenever Trent’s daughter plays pretend with him and hands him an imaginary phone, he always comes up with the WILDEST scenarios for their game
One time at team karaoke (which became a pretty regular thing after the Everton F.C. match), Jamie and Colin sang Agony from Into the Woods and Jamie did the choreography (he definitely didn’t learn it because he rewatched the musical so. many. times. because he had a crush on Chris Pine *wink* *wink*)
Ted made the mistake of showing Me Before You at a team movie night one time and the entire team was sobbing by the end
Bumbercatch is the jumpiest mf ever but LOVES horror movies
One of Jamie’s favorite movies is Dead Poets Society and his favorite character was Neil (he was inconsolable when he watched it the first time and Neil died)
Beard knew about Trent’s crush on Ted and teased him about it every time he got flustered around Ted
The only times Roy isn’t the princess when he plays Princess and Dragon with Phoebe is when Jamie plays with her (Roy has SO MANY pictures of Jamie dressed as the princess on his phone and one is his wallpaper)
We all know that Jamie’s bi awakening was Roy and Keeley but Will’s was Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher in the Star Wars movies
Will was raised by a single mom who he loves more than anything (I saw someone else hc this and it makes so much sense)
Bumbercatch LOVES Buzzfeed Unsolved True Crime/BU Supernatural and low key religiously listens to a true crime podcast

Dead Poets Society headcanons: what do they do when they can't sleep
Neil starts reciting theater lines in his mind because he remembers all of them. Sometimes he obviously can't recall some and he gets angry at himself cause he can't read the script without turning the light on, and he doesn't want to wake up Todd. Eventually, he falls asleep, after mumbling the line he was stuck at for 20 minutes.
Todd usually thinks of poems which he won't remember in the morning either way. When he really can't create any good work, he gets frustrated and doesn't sleep all night, thinking about his parents and Jeffrey, drowning in insecurities.
Charlie aggressively wakes up Cameron and complains to him. At first, it was really annoying to Richard, but he got used to it and now they both enjoy it (they will never admit it tho).
Cameron just stares at the ceiling and lets his mind wander off. He thinks about pretty much everything, and sometimes it leads to very weird conclusions, so he tries to sleep every night (he even stopped drinking coffee) (it does not help).
Meeks quietly hums some melodies and imagines various scenarios. He likes making stories so he often doesn't sleep on purpose, just to create them in peace.
Pitts almost never has problems with falling asleep, but when he does, he wakes up Meeks and they talk about everything and nothing. He feels guilty doing so, but Meeks assures that it's not a problem.
Knox gets up and walks around the room until he's at least a little tired. If it doesn't help, he thinks of Chris till morning. The Poets told him that it's kinda creepy but he doesn't give a shit.
I know it's not great, I have never written headcanons before and English isn't my first language but I always wanted to try it so here we are <3.

neil is a completely fascinating character to me, and so much of that is because of his death. it's indisputable that he killed himself because he knew that the only control he had over his life was his death, and he couldn't stand to live without the autonomy that he knew was his right. i know the logic, and it's so easy to deduce. my qualm is, did he think of todd? and if he did, what was he thinking? did he even think of him at all? did he hope and pray before pulling the trigger that neither he nor todd would wake up after that night, and did he feel guilty for wanting to rip todd away from the life he had? the life that todd had because of neil?
the one right thing that mr. nolan ever said was that neil's death was a tragedy. it's a tragedy to the future of what neil could have been, and what he could've had, surrounded by people that love him.
