Such a good, funny and goofy fic. 10/10 would recommend. The only issue with this is it isn’t long enough.
A classic of the genre, so witty in its humour- 10/10.
The morning Tim runs out of things to give, he can feel in his chest. It’s a hollowness; a feeling that if someone rapped their fist against his ribcage, he would ring like a drum. It’s a lightness; the same lightness he felt in that hot, sandy desert in Iraq when he thought he was going to die. The kid’s eyes skated back over to him, his face twitching into a brief frown. “What? No.” A pause. “I mean, we could do that instead, if you wanted. But to fool Batman I’d need facial reconstruction surgery and new papers and it would all have to be untraceable—,” he broke off with a scoff, shaking his head slightly.
“No, it’s just smarter and more cost-efficient to do it for real.”
Tim learns about Jason Todd's return, does some research on the Lazarus Pit, and realizes that there might be a way to solve multiple problems all at once: removing himself from the picture.
For some strange reason, the Red Hood doesn't seem keen on cooperating.

Summary: Imagine Danny goes to college in Gotham. Given his halfa nature, he's fairly not worried about most parts of Gotham and given he needs less sleep now, he likes to wander campus and Gotham itself like he's a natural Gothathes…at night like the half dead-half living man he was.
During these wanderings, he finds pieces of bat tech from fights. He figures it's safer in his care(and because he's really curious about the local vigilantes) so…he takes it.
It's usually just tiny things that the bats– probably –wouldn't even notice gone and he has things to fiddle with now. Unfortunately(for the bats), he finds Red Hood's destroyed helmet and takes it back to his dorm to fix, figuring it would allow him to return most of the items he snatched without a second thought. He doesn't realize it has an active tracker in it so the bats, when they activate it and discover it on the Gotham University campus, reasonably panic and flip on the camera...only to come face to face with adoption bait using bits of their missing tech to fix the helmet.

Basically they're more concerned about the kid stealing their tech than the fact that their tech was stolen because this boy is so not okay ahah

ive read exactly three top gun fics in total so yes but also statistically no lol.
dancingdisaster (?)’s “Men Like Us” was the first top gun fic i ever read, back when i was a hangster-only guy, and it opened my third eye as to “omg what if ice survived all the way through tgm?” which then in my weird little brain turned into -> “omg how would ice have reacted to mav dying?” -> “omg what if mav died before ice ever got to say he loved him?!!!!” -> “omg i have to write that fic rn.” so that would be the fic I would cite as most obviously having had an effect on me & the story I wrote (rooster going to boot camp & ocs etc)
but yeah i don’t read a lot of tg fic because i try not to read fic for fandoms im actively writing in. the other two fics that i have read are time to let go (idk who by sry) and my beloved mutual sliderkerner’s (vulcanx on ao3) excellent “leave a tender moment alone,” which you should all be reading rn if u aren’t already. But that’s pretty much it
So if you were wondering why I’m so myopic/blinkered about top gun stuff/act like my interpretation is the only one, it’s because i literally do not consume any tg content that is not my own lmao. i am a top gun poaster, not a top gun consoomer. Good news, everyone! The R. M. Renfield/Spiders Georg fic you desperately needed has already been written by the incredible Island_of_Reil on AO3:
There isn’t any smut so anyone who prefers to avoid that is fine, and no major Dracula spoilers beyond Renfield eating spiders.
The only thing to warn for is people eating live insects (and arachnids), but that should be pretty self-evident from the fic’s premise.
It’s hilarious and perfect and I strongly recommend it.
