All the Stars in the Sky
(aka: I was lonely and made myself sad... )
Fives x Reader - Fives doesn't see a good outcome to his situation so he writes a letter to his cyar'ika just in case 💔
Tumblr media
To all my Fives lovers out there, he gave Rex this letter specifically for you:
Hey Cyar'ika,
It's Fives. I guess by now you've seen the news. I can't imagine what you must think of me but I swear it isn't all that they make it out to be. You know me - I fight for the Republic, for you and my brothers. For the truth. No matter what you hear, please believe me. This plot to overthrow the Jedi, the Republic, and everything we believe in is so much bigger than just me. I've gotten way in over my head, Cyar'ika, and I'm scared. I'm scared they'll shut me up to hide the truth. I'm scared they'll take you away from me. Please believe I'd never leave you of my own accords. Believe in me. I love you, Cyar'ika.
I used to think that the day I became an ARC trooper was the happiest day of my life. But then I met you. When I first saw you in that pretty little dress sitting on a barstool at 79's, I had a whole thing planned. I had all the best pick-up lines ready to get you to go out with me but when I made my way over there, I saw the stars twinkling in your eyes and I couldn't speak straight and I fell off my chair. The only thing I could say then was "it looks like I've fallen for you." It was the dumbest line ever but you laughed. You laughed and it was the most beautiful sound I'd ever heard. Echo said you'd never say yes to going out with me after that, but you did. You did and I have no idea why. What made me so special?
Let's face it, I'm a clone - one of a million - I was never meant to live past this war. But you made me rethink that. I'm not so naive as to think I could have it all, but with you maybe I could have. We imagined our own little house out in the middle of nowhere with our three beautiful kids. You swear they'd look like me but I'd hoped they'd be as beautiful as you. I dreamed of wrapping you in my arms, finally having something of my very own that no one could ever take from me.
The reality of everything that's happened is so heavy right now, Cyar'ika and I'm not sure how this will end. I wish I could hold you in my arms one last time. If I have to die to fix this, I want you to know I died thinking of you. I died thinking of your lips on mine. Don't give up on me, Cyar'ika. I'll always be with you. Always. You can count on it. I'll tell Echo and Hevy, and all the boys up there hi for ya. I love you more than all the stars in the sky.
Your favorite ARC Trooper,
Fives

“Do you like it?” you say shyly, turning to look at Fives. You lift your arms as you twist, causing the fabric to ripple behind you.
Fives stiffens on your bed, his gloved hands gripping his thighs in a way that would certainly be painful if not for the plastoid.
You had just brought home the tailored gown you would be wearing to a senate event next week. As an aide, there were few mandatory social events you had to attend, so you liked to dress your best when you did.
The gown was a silverly color, with a high neckline that flowed into a thin cape behind you. There was a horizontal slit above your bust and larger vertical slits at your waist. It certainly shows more scandalous parts of your skin than your day-to-day outfits.
You had been nervous when trying it on, unsure of how it sat on your frame, but Bail hadn’t even looked up from his datapad when he reminded you that it would be tailored to fit you perfectly.
There were times when serving as one of his aides was, well, stressful.
But he was a decent boss, and there were funds in the Alderaan senatorial budget to make sure their aides and assistants were well-dressed when it came to these things. You couldn’t imagine paying for such an exquisite gown out of your own pocket.
But from the way Fives is staring at you, mouth open in awe, it seems to have been worth it.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you speechless.” You turn back to face the mirror, hands smoothing over the skirt.
You see Fives' face heat up in the reflection; it’s endearing. You feel like it's rare you make him this flustered. (Now, he would 100% disagree given the fact that he says the most outlandish things when he's alone with you. But you never seem to notice, too enchanted by the handsome trooper to notice his sputtering.)
Fives shakes his head slightly, trademark smirk fixing itself on his face.
“That’s because you didn’t know me when we first met.” He walks up behind you, gloved hands gently running over the exposed skin at your waist. You shiver a little, heartbeat picking up at the soft touch.
“You look….” Fives trails off, as if searching for the right word. (He knows he won’t find it. No word in any language could encapsulate how perfect you look).
You turn in his grasp, reaching to loop your arms loosely around his neck.
“Well, I wish you could be there,” you say, your quiet voice full of longing. He squeezes your waist, thumbs stroking you in a comforting manner.
“If we’re docked, and they let me in, I’ll be there,” he promises, pressing a kiss to your temple. “And if they don’t, I promise you I will be waiting outside to escort you back here. So I can help you out of this.” You laugh as he cheekily slides his thumbs just under the fabric that rests at your hips.
“I’ll be looking forward to it.” You rest your head on his shoulder, pretending the two of you were elsewhere. “But for now, will you dance with me?”
“Always.”

𝓓𝓮𝓪𝓻 𝓓𝓲𝓪𝓻𝔂..
Pt2. Captain Rex x F!Reader x Fives What happens when two of the men you admire suddenly begin to show just how interested they are in you, days after your secret diary goes missing? Word Count: 3514 Warnings: Edited but most likely has some grammar mistakes, reader is scared of water. A/N: Ugh this took my poor little brain too long to write but it's here now and I'm very proud <33
Tumblr media
The rhythmic buzzing of cicadas paired with the summer heat and sunbathing on the beach was the perfect situation to find yourself in. The negotiations had gone smoothly, and your squad was permitted a spontaneous shore leave.
Navy blue waves licked lazily at the sand; the water contrastingly cold to the desert-like temperatures of the beach. A cool breeze accompanied the waves, providing a semblance of comfort as it danced with tall, sparse strands of wild grass.
You were seated on a sunbed, just beneath the dark shadow of an umbrella, enjoying the distant echoes of laughter from your squad. It was extremely uncommon for them to enjoy anything but the popular bar, 79s, on their days off.
You had to bargain with the Jedi council for a solid half an hour before Master Windu had finally given you the nod of approval.
Now, Rex reaped the benefits of shore leave in the form of a nap in the sun. You had made sure to apply a kriff ton of sun cream onto his back and shoulders and neck before he had fallen asleep, a mumbled 'thank you' rolling off the tip of his tongue as his eyes became droopy.
He was severely sleep deprived; always being assigned to Skywalker's side rather than yours. It wasn't that he didn't like Master Skywalker, it's just his missions and plans were always reckless and exhausting, and they ended with a few too many casualties.
Of course, that was always inevitable, and Rex did his best not to linger on the fallen, but it didn't always come to him easily.
But with you, he could rest assured.
With you, he could relax under the warm sun, feel the burning sand, and enjoy the comfort of seaside waves.
His caring nature also ensured that everyone would be provided for whilst he was asleep. Bringing extra sun-cream, a cooler filled to the brim with water bottles and ice lollies, and extra towels as well as beach balls.
Where did he get the credits from?
Well, that was a code that nobody could decipher.
Nevertheless, there you were, relaxing with your beloved Captain. Fives had dragged most of the squad into the waves, insisting that they play volleyball. He had tried to take you too, but your reluctance and uncertainty deterred him.
He had waved you off with a 'Watch me, General' and a wink before he engaged in a series of games of clumsy water volleyball.
Since they'd undergone ARC Trooper training, it became more uncommon for Echo and Fives to join the 501st on longer campaigns.
Each time they were reunited, Fives would glance to Echo with a small smile. And now, he was busy wrestling with Hardcase in the shallow parts of the water, laughter escaping the two as Echo hit the ball into the air.
A series of hoorays and pats on the back erupted as the ball hit the water with a splash.
One score for Echo's team.
You were content with watching from the side lines, if you remained far from the water.
If you still had your diary on you, you'd probably busy yourself writing down the details of this day, so the memory could continue to live on long after the war was over.
But just a few days prior it went missing. You thought you misplaced it and ransacked your entire quarters for it. By the time Rex had knocked on your door, nothing was in its' correct spot. Crumpled bedsheets, swinging closet doors and a chair in the middle of the room as you had searched under your desk.
He wanted to question your panicked state, but as soon as the words 'Mission' and 'Jedi Council' were said, you had put a halt to your search mission.
Rex hadn't tried to ask since.
But now, forced to sit by idly, you were mesmerised by the beauty of none other than Fives himself. He was an ARC Trooper for a reason. His shoulders were broad, his waist slim and his thighs - thick and strong and defined from hours of battle and constant training. His tan skin was wet with salty sweat and even saltier water, and if one were to squint hard enough, they could see droplets running down the side of his neck.
You often found yourself feeling grateful to Jango Fett for having such fine genes.
As if reading your mind, Fives decided to stretch, and in the process flexed his biceps. How big were they?
Was it just you or did it get twenty degrees hotter?
His head slowly turned, and for a moment, you made eye contact. It was quick, but it was still enough to have your heart racing. A smirk stretched across his lips as he caught sight of your blooming blush.
The moment was cut short as Jesse splashed salty water right in his face. You didn't even get a chance to process the expression on his face, the water having wiped it away, as a surprised yelp escaped Fives.
His hand flew to his face, a guttural groan leaving his lips as he swore. His form was hunched over, his hand wiping at his eye.
Before you knew it, you were up and running towards the water, your sunbed abandoned and dusty in your wake.
"Fives?!"
His attention snapped to you at the sound of your voice.
A gasp left your lips.
His eye. The usually tawny skin surrounding his eye had now gained in darker colour, the area a faint red under the sunlight. Tiny, crimson vessels coated his sclera, reaching with thin, curly tendons towards his iris.
Just what was in that water? Surely it shouldn't be this bad.
Jesse was quick to utter apologies, his mouth cast into a downturned smile.
"Jesse it's fine," Fives insisted, "It's nothing." He continued, rubbing at his eye, the corners of his lips fighting an oncoming scowl. His attention quickly diverted from Jesse, focusing on you just as your feet reached the water.
Your body stuttered, your movements faltering as you glanced down at the waves.
Fives eyed you wearily, noticing the hesitation plastered all over your features.
But then in a flash, the water was already hitting your knees, lazily crashing against your waist as you progressed further. Goosebumps rose all over your body, visible under the blaring sun.
Your stomach twisted into a ball of thread, bile rising in your throat. You squeezed the water bottle and towel in your hands, then proceeded to raise your arms into the air like a cheering fan.
The water was now waist-deep, splashing against your torso and swaying your body back and forth.
Pieces of broken pebbles dug into the balls of your feet, and you had to supress the urge to scream when a floating piece of seaweed tickled at your ankles.
A small wheeze left your lips though, and as you reached Fives and looked up, you noticed the concerned expression on Jesse’s face. Was it for Fives or for you? You couldn’t quite tell.
"Let me see." You requested, placing your busy hands on top of Fives’ shoulders.
"General, I'm fine. It's just a bit of water." Fives winced as he attempted an eyeroll, his hands having wrapped around your wrists.
He failed to notice the brief flash of panic in your eyes or the tension in your jaw as the water splashed onto your chest.
"Just a bit of... Water?" You repeated, swallowing harshly. Tugging your hands from his hold, you looked back up at him. "You look like you’re on some hard spice, Trooper. We’ll get your eye rinsed; we don’t know just how safe the water is."
The men behind him had gone awfully quiet, Fives noted as he silently pleaded with you. His eyes searched yours, his head tilting just the slightest. He wasn't a fan of silence, at least not when it came from his squad mates. And he knew all to well that they were watching like hawks, supressing their laughter.
However, as you stood there looking up at him, he couldn’t help but allow his resolve to crumble just a tiny bit. Who could say no to those sweet puppy eyes? Maybe Echo. Most definitely not Fives.
"Alright, lead the way." He finally let up, heaving a sigh. His eye was stinging a bit too much and it’s not like he minded the extra attention from you.
A snicker left one of the men behind you, and Fives was quick to whip his head around, motioning for them to ‘zip it’.
"General?"
"Fives?" You pursed your lips as you looked up at him, though you didn't last long as your gaze faltered, focusing on your primary target, the sunbed. You wouldn’t be rinsing his eye on the sand; it was too hot, and it felt like walking on lava rocks.
“Is it that bad? Or did you just want me all for yourself?” He asked, nudging your side with his elbow.
Wordlessly, you pushed him onto your sunbed.
“Aggressive, I can work with that.”
“Shut it.” You laughed out, shaking your head.
By that point, Rex had slowly begun waking up, rubbing tiredly at his eyes.
A confused hum left his lips as he noticed the state of your clothes. They were wet. Soaking wet, in fact.
"General?" His voice was deeper than normal, more guttural as he was recovering from his nap. "Why are you...Wet?"
“No reason, Captain.” You shrugged your shoulders with a wink.
Rex looked to Fives, giving him a confused look. He sat up in his sunbed, crossing his legs and rubbing his face. “There’s a first time for everything, I guess.”
“First time? First time for what?”
“Oh? Didn’t you know? Our General- “
“Rex.” The way his name rolled off the tip of your tongue had shivers running down his spine. It carried authority and a warning, but the captain was feeling quite daring. His chest puffed up, his whole demeanour changing. This wasn’t your sweet Captain Rex, this was cheeky Cadet Rex, ready to tell the most embarrassing of stories to his brother.
He looked over to Fives, leaning back on his hands.
“Our General over here is terrified of water.” He mused, recalling a specific memory, “On one of our first missions together, we were sent to a swampy planet. The General had us all fooled at first,” He paused, snickering at the displeased expression on your face, “The second a frog swam by, she was screaming and jumping into my arms. Jesse almost blasted the poor thing to bits!”
“Rex!” You exclaimed, throwing the damp rug at him, “You promised not to tell anyone!”
Rex sputtered as the cloth hit him square in the face, launching it into the air in retaliation. “Fives isn’t just anyone! Am I right or am I right?”
Fives looked between the two of you, his brows raised in shock and his eye looking much better.
“General? I’m not just anyone, I’m your favourite ARC Trooper!” He shook his head, pressing a hand to his chest. “I can’t believe you!”
Before you could deny his words or assure him, Rex was already stood by you.
“See General? You hurt his feelings.”
“N- No I didn’t! Fives you are my favourite, just don’t tell anyone, alright?” You pleaded, attempting your best puppy eyes yet. Your attempts faltered as he shook his head, feigning a hurt look.
“I’m not sure, General. You’ll have to make it up to me somehow,” He paused, exchanging mysterious looks with Rex.
“How can I make it up to you?”
“Oh I don’t know.. I’ll have to get back to you on that.” He retorted, pouting at you. Sometimes you forgot just how childish the man could be. You clutched the empty water bottle in your hand, readying it as your next weapon for Rex.
Turning towards him, a fake scowl twisted your expression.
“Don’t look at me like that, General, it’s a waste of a pretty face.” He quickly said, shielding his face as you raised the water bottle. Before it could leave your hands voluntarily though, a pair of arms wrapped around your waist.
“H- Huh?” A gasp left your lips as your body was swiftly rotated and slung over Fives’ shoulder like a sack of rations. That man really harboured more strength in those biceps than you knew. “Fives? What are you doing?”
“I’m having you repay me! Starting now!” He exclaimed and began moving. Rex moved to his side, keeping in step with Fives. Your eyes widened as the sunbed slowly moved further and further, becoming a distant promise of safety and comfort as salty waves made contact with Fives’ feet.
“Fives! L- Let me go! Please!” Your voice was reaching new peaks, rising higher and higher as you began kicking your legs. “I- I can’t swim!” You continued, lightly hitting his back.
His steps began to slow. You held your breath, leaning your head as far from the water as possible.
“You can’t swim? Are you serious or are you bullshitting me, General?” He asked, looking towards Rex, who only gave him a shrug of his shoulders.
“I promise! Please, please, please don’t go any further.” You pleaded once more, looking over to Rex too. Your hands were clasped together, as if you were praying to the two men. He exchanged glances with Fives, wordlessly communicating.
Rex looked over to you, pursing his lips.
“What’s holding y’guys up?” Hardcase shouted, coming closer and closer. “And since when did the General go into water that isn’t a part of her refresher?” He asked, coming to a stop with the three of you.
“Hardcase! You know I can’t swim! Help me, please!” You began kicking your feet again, leaning your head to the side. Your hands pushed against Fives’ back, attempting to heave yourself off.
His grip on you only tightened, and a squeak was forced from your chest as his palm squeezed your thigh.
“The General is a worse swimmer than me! At her level she isn’t even a swimmer, she’s a sinker!” He exclaimed, pointing to himself, Fives’ shoulders shook as a small laugh escaped him. You could feel the blood rushing to your cheeks, setting your skin aflame.
“Fine, I’ll let you go, but only ‘cause I trust Hardcase.” His voice was gruff as he lifted your body, slowly placing you in the water. Goosebumps attacked your skin once more, but this time from the chilling cold that encased you. Looking up, Fives wore a grin that challenged that of the cheshire cat. “You should see yourself, General. You look like an angry loth cat.” He said, pinching your cheek with one hand as the other rested on your waist, his hold firm but gentle, his thumb caressing your waist in small, centred circles.
Swatting his hand away, you looked back down to the water. It rested just below your hips but would venture higher up as the waves moved back and forth.
“D’you wanna go further?” Fives asked, his voice much closer now. Looking around, you noticed that Rex and the others had moved further into the water, where it now reached their chests.
Shaking your head, you turned back to Fives. “I can’t swim, plus I don’t have the same height advantage as you,” You paused, pointing to the others, “I’d be under water where they are now.”
A soft chuckle escaped his lips, crows’ feet tugging at the outer corners of his eyes. Your hands rose to his chest, steadying yourself as a rogue wave lifted your feet off the ground.
“C’mon, you can sit on my shoulders? I’m sure the others would be more than happy to have you around.” He asked, giving your waist a faint squeeze.
You took a moment to think over his proposition. Sure, being on his shoulders would mean you get to, mostly, stay out of the water. But what if you fell off? You cringed at the thought of water invading your nose, burning your windpipe and choking you from the inside out.
“I- I don’t know…” You paused.
Slowly, you looked up, your breath hitching in your throat. He was already watching you, admiring the tiny expressions you made as you watched his brothers. There was this smitten look resting across his face, as if you were the prettiest little thing he’s ever seen.
His face was so close, his body slightly brushing against your own. His scent invaded your senses, so much so you could almost taste it on the tip of your tongue.
The sunlight reflected in his eyes, outlining the different shapes and shades as if you were looking into a kaleidoscope. His irises had this gorgeous colour of warm honey, and they sparkled like a pair of amber crystals under the soft sunrays.
His skin glowed under the warmth, the rich olive colour becoming tanner the longer he sat outside of his armour, making Fives look healthier and happier. All of the men, in fact. Though their armour kept them safe and sound, you couldn’t help but marvel at the sight of them. They were in their zone.
Fives’ hand moved up to your face, his eyes concentrated on a stray piece of hair. The soft smile kept playing at his lips, never fully going but never fully staying.
There was a tension in his jaw, however, as his fingers toyed with your hair. It was like he was holding something back.
He moved the strand away, gently tucking it behind your ear, as best as it would go anyway.
“You’re gorgeous, cyar’ika.” His words came out as a whispered prayer, his gaze so tender and loving as he caressed your cheek with his knuckles.
It was as if your brain short-circuited again; his words dropped on you like a heavy boulder, so sudden, and yet your heartbeat was now racing a thousand miles per hour. Your breath was caught in your throat, and your mouth suddenly felt dry. Was this normal? Were you panicking or were you blushing? Were you going crazy? What was happening?
“F- Fives…” You whispered, your grip on his chest tightening. You never expected those words to come from him, or anyone at all. They weren’t meant for you. But if so, why did they make you so happy? So ecstatic and why did he make you swoon so hard?
He leaned his face a tad closer, just enough for you to feel his breath fanning over your lips.
You could feel his warmth, it was comparable to the sun itself. It rode in your veins, it had your blood bubbling up in excitement the longer he looked at you. You were just a small planet orbiting his sun, being pulled in closer and closer until all you could feel was the heat and the burn of him.
His tongue darted out to lick at his bottom lip, ridding it of dryness and discomfort.
But that small action had you going wild, feral even.
In that split moment, your gaze flickered to his lips. For a man who spent the majority of his life on a battlefield, his lips sure looked plump and made just for kissing.
It was like you were gravitating towards him, like a comet curve-balling around his planet, entangling around his soul and burning brightly at each twist and pull. His hold on you had your legs melting, as if you were nothing but a shard of ice, being thawed away at by his warm touch and sweetly whispered nothings.
His hand tilted your jaw, just enough for your lips to rest an inch from his. Any closer, and you’d be kissing, melting into one another.
Before either of you could do more, say more, the distant voice of Hardcase called out to you.
“Are you two comin’ or what?!” He shouted, cupping his mouth with both hands.
You jolted in your spot, effectively snapping out of whatever spell the man before you had cast on you. Clearly, he had been put under a spell too as his hands retracted and his posture stiffened.
“We’re on our way!” He shouted back, waving Hardcase off. His attention quickly returned to you, but the spell was now gone.
A lump formed in your throat, and you swallowed it down with struggle.
Uncertainty and fear tugged at your heartstrings, and Fives knew exactly what that meant.
“G- General-“
“I need to go.” Your voice was meek and shallow as you retracted from his touch, as if he left your skin with painful burns and sears wherever his fingertips touched. “Alone.” You continued, placing a hesitant palm on his chest as Fives attempted to follow you.
This couldn’t be happening.
With your back turned to him and your figure disappearing into the distance, Fives couldn’t help but curse under his breath. His lips slightly agape, he stood in the same spot you left him in just moments ago.
How could he have ruined everything in such a short amount of time?

Fanfic fanart I made based on Freedom Dance, a short Fives x GN!Reader fanfic written by @corona-one, who wrote it with inspiration from this Clones in Suits artwork that I had drawn beforehand. ☺️ Girl in the pic is a random cyar'ika character I made 🤣
Man, what I'd do to be in that position with Fives tho 😩😩😩

Hi! I hope that you are having a good time and have been able to get some rest.
I would like to make a request featuring clones of your choice.
How do you think the Clones would react to meeting their S/O's sibling, who happens to be their identical twin?
Sounds like fun 😊
So, I picked some clones and scenarios that came to mind 😅
Fives/Rex/Crosshair/Gregor x TwinReader HCs - I've Seen That Face Before
Tumblr media
Fluff/Humor/Confusion
_____________
Fives
He comes swinging into your apartment as usual, with the spare key he got from you last week. He doesn't know that your sister is visiting. You are in the open kitchen and can see him coming into the living room. Just the way Fives is, he puts an arm around your sibling's waist and says, "Hello, beautiful, I missed you". But at the same moment he says the words, you see his facial expression change. "Something's wrong here," he says quietly, confused, alarmed. "You must be Fives," your twin says dryly, squirming out of his arm, "I can say Fives, can't I?" "Uh, sure, but you can also call me confused." Then he hears you laugh and looks in your direction. He lets out a sigh of relief and comes over to you, hugging you and kissing your face. "There you are," he says with a grin. "Yes, and I see you've met my twin sibling as well". Fives nods to your sibling with a shy smile and says meekly, "Sorry for the stormy greeting."
Your twin waves it off, "Don't worry, you wouldn't believe how often we get confused". Fives laughs and says amused, "You do know I'm a clone, right? Mix-ups with outsiders are a daily occurrence for us. Well, now I know how it feels to be on the other end of this situation"
Rex
He is so stressed, you have a date, but due to a chain of unfavorable circumstances beyond his control, he is late, almost a whole hour. He arrives at the meeting place, the small coffee shop where you met, at the table where your twin is sitting and waiting for you because you are still getting pastries. Rex knows that you wanted to bring a sibling, but he doesn't know about your resemblance. He kisses your surprised twin on the cheek, presses the bouquet of flowers into their hand, and your twin looks at him, blinking, as he sits down across from them at the small table. "I'm so sorry darling, I know we're going to miss the movie, but maybe we can still make the night screening" "Rex-" He raises his hands and interrupts your twin, "I know, I know, it's happened a few times now, unfortunately because of work. I'll make it up to you. I promise," he smiles suggestively, leans forward a bit across the table and says conspiratorially, "Tonight, when we're alone again, I'll spoil you rotten." "Rex I-" He continues smiling mischievously, "The full program anything you want, I'll be your slave tonight...or you're mine depending on what you feel like" "Rex-"
He blinks and stares at your twin. "Where's your sibling anyway, didn't they want to go to the movies with us?" Your twin finally blurts out, "I AM THE SIBLING!" Rex stiffens, stares thunderstruck at the person he has in front of him, then notices a few tiny little differences. If he hadn't been so rattled, he might have noticed sooner. "Oh... oh maker" He sees you coming toward the table and repeats, "Oh dear maker.... please don't tell how much I just embarrassed myself" Rex says quietly pleading with your twin. "Let's see how well I like you after tonight," Rex gets in response with a cheeky little grin.
Crosshair
He already knows that he will meet your twin, he is more or less prepared. And even though he's used to seeing many of the same faces through his clone brothers, he's still a bit surprised when he sees you with your sibling. "And you're sure you're not from Kamino?" he asks dryly. You chuckle. "No, Cross, we're not clones," you assure him. Your twin seems less amused, eyeing your boyfriend critically. Then he does something thoughtless, a stupid joke he quickly regrets. "It's good to know that there's a second copy of you. If it doesn't work out between us, maybe it will work out with the twin". Your twin says dryly, "Certainly not. Better get rid of that idiot fast". Crosshair wants to sink into the ground, but he raises his hands placatingly. "Woah, relax. It was just a joke. Admittedly a stupid joke, as I have to say now in retrospect. It sounded more amusing in my mind." Your twin rolls their eyes, and Crosshair realizes he's gotten himself in hot water. He looks at you cautiously, seeking help. "Kitten, you know it was just a stupid joke, right?" You laugh softly, roll your eyes, and say, "Of course I do." Your twin, however, can't quite warm up to your partner, and that probably won't change.
Gregor
He comes to the meeting place and sees you both there. With his shy little chuckle, he says, "Okay, firstly, I'm sober, I just wanted to establish that. But I still see you double, darling." You both roll your eyes but have to giggle anyway. "Cute," says your twin. "Told you so," you say with a laugh, pointing to the seat next to you, whereupon Gregor sits down with you and presses a kiss to your temple. Your twin asks, "And, how is it for you, to know that there is a twin?" Gregor shrugs and says lightly, "Well, I have a lot of brothers who are practically identical. Your sister doesn't have a problem with that either, does she?" You both nod. "Good point," you say with a smile, "But you're still unique." Gregor kisses your forehead again, "That's sweet of you, but there are also differences between you two that I saw right away. I'm sure there are a few more that you only find out over time" "Like what, for example," you ask curiously.
"Your posture, the way you move, is different, not too much, but enough that it's noticeable when you look closely. The way you talk, emphasize words. Even in appearance, there are very subtle, differences, hardly noticeable if you don't look closely, but they are there." Your twin says, "You should hold on to that one, he seems smart and attentive, especially the latter is rare to find." You say with a satisfied smile, "Don't worry, I plan to do just that." Gregor says with his trademark giggle, "And I'll be happy to let you hold me."

Okay, hear me out....grumpy reader/Fives for the sunshine/grumpy prompt list. My favorite is "don't make this weird...but I saw this in the store and got it for you. Figured you'd like it."
Fives x grumpy!reader | 1k words
Content: a light and fluffy piece, a little bit of yearning, a nice hug, reader is on the grumpier side (and also a chef, random idea that popped in my head)
Tumblr media
What were you doing?
You'd asked yourself that a dozen times now as you made your way back to the ship, almost stopping each time to throw the gift bag into the bushes. You weren't a person who bought gifts. That was lame. You didn't even get gifts on most holidays, let alone on a random day in the middle of the year for no reason other than you saw something and it reminded you of someone else and the thought of his face lighting up when you gave it to him compelled you to go ahead and buy it.
Yeah, lame.
You stifled a groan at the thought of how badly you'd be teased for this. Of course Fives would love the gift, and he'd show it off to everyone, and then they'd make fun of you, probably say you'd have a crush or something stupid. You paused in the road again and just stared at the bag, considering every life choice you'd made up that had brought you to this point.
"What's cookin, good lookin?"
Five's familiar voice rang out from down the road as he caught sight of you standing there. He used that ridiculous line to greet you every time, making you regret ever becoming a cook for the GAR in the first place.
"Hi Fives." You were quick to hide the little gift bag behind your back, but not quick enough for the ARC trooper. He was practically bounding down to the road toward you. No amount of subtle maneuvering would've escaped his notice.
"What's that?" he pulled up a few feet in front of you, smirking as he eyed you.
"What's what?" you tried playing it off.
"That bag in your hands."
Your resting face held a frown, which only deepened as you were caught red handed. There was no backtracking anymore, no ditching the gift and pretending it'd never happened. You'd have to give it to him and face the consequences now.
"Oh, yeah, this." You reluctantly brought the bag around in front of you, looked down at it for a moment, and then relented with a sigh. "Okay, don't make this weird... but I saw this in the store and got it for you. Figured you'd like it."
You practically pushed the bag right into him, eager to just get rid of it.
As predicted, Fives was already getting worked up in delight. "Wait, what? You got me a gift?"
He reached in and grabbed the wad of tissue paper and tossed it aside, and then he brought out the little trinket that lay within.
"No way, a river whale?!"
It was a little ceramic figurine of the planet's rare river whale, an animal Fives had been desperate to try and find during their short mission here, but with no luck. You'd only gone into town to return the grill you'd borrowed from a local cook before the ship took off. It had seemed like fate to find a last minute replacement for Fives' dream. The figurine was hand-painted and had cute little beads set in for eyes. It even had a ribbon loop fastened on the top, to be hung like an ornament.
Fives was teetering between beaming with joy and what you feared were actual tears. He was like a kid who'd gotten exactly what he wanted for Christmas.
"Kriff, cookie, you're the best!" he exclaimed with a wobbly voice. You had to ignore that heinous nickname just like you did the other silly little sayings he had with you.
"I said don't make this weird," you grumbled just as he rushed up to hug you. You squirmed at first in his tight embrace, but after a few moments, relaxed a bit and brought an awkward hand up to pat his arm. You would never admit how often you wished the man would hug you like this... among other things.
He let go of you far too soon and brought the gift back up to admire it. It hung from the ribbon off his finger and spun prettily in the sunlight.
"I shall name you... whale-y," he said to it.
You rolled your eyes. "Seriously?"
"Too on the nose?" Fives scrunched up his face in a show of serious consideration. "Hm, what about, bead-y? 'Cause of his eyes."
You just shook your head at him.
"What? Names are hard." He dangled the figurine in front of you. "You name it, then."
"No."
"Come on, he needs a name! Look at him!" He jiggled the ribbon a little so the whale shook in front of you. "Please name me, cookie," he said in a mocked voice of the thing.
You sighed. "I don't know... Willy."
Fives grinned. "Willy it is!"
He continued to laugh as you continued to glare. You would never understand this man and all his silliness and good humoredness. But boy did you like him anyway.
Fives tucked the little figure into one of his belt pockets. "I won't tell anyone, you know."
"Huh?"
"I know you don't like it when you're at the center of attention," he shrugged. He still seemed happy, but some of his energy had settled down into something much softer. "And I know you don't like getting compliments, but uh... this was really nice of you."
"Oh."
You stood there awkwardly. He was right, you didn't like compliments; you had no idea what to do with them.
"We can keep this moment between us," he offered with a small smile.
You nodded shyly back, still not sure what to say. Your heart seemed to be doubling in size, pushing against your chest in a painful but pleasant way.
"Um, I mean..." you tried saying something, finding the words as you went along. "You don't have to hide it or anything. You could hang it in your bunk if you want. Or somewhere else. Anywhere you want, really. It's your gift. So... you know...."
Fives started laughing again, a lower chuckle that showed he was amused but wouldn't make fun of you for it. He saddled up next to you, slung an arm across your shoulders, and started leading you back to the ship.
"Alright, I think I will hang it in my bunk, then. And I'll think of you whenever I see it."
You were grateful he couldn't see the blush that started lining your cheeks. Maybe getting him a gift wasn't such a lame thing after all.

BOY DO I HAVE IDEAS FOR YANDERE!FIVES
I wrote hcs for him years ago but i'll paraphrase some points from there:
Fives is a (mostly) harmless yandere who just really wants to please you! When he falls, he falls fast and deep. Once he decides he likes you and you're going to be his cyare (what I like to call a clone's darling), he's latched onto you and he will never leave. No matter how much you try to leave him, he will find you. Where there's a will, there's a way. Romantic.
"Where are you going? I'll come with you!"
Echo's a little jealous now that all of Fives' attention is focused on you but he's happy Fives has found his cyare.
As soft as he is for you, it doesn't mean he won't get violent. But not to you, never you! Compared to his brothers, Fives is calmer and prefers nonviolent means to get rid of anyone he perceives as competition but as soon as anyone makes you upset is having an unfortunate encounter staring down the end of his blaster barrel (away from you ofc).
Oh, and don't think you can come to the Jedi or other clones for help. Most of the Jedi are enabling and the clones work together and help each other out with their cyares. You're stuck with him <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fives is literally the LOVE OF MY LIFE!! I have been obsessed with him since episode 5 and am so happy to learn that he and Echo will be getting more screen time!!
You're 100% right, when Fives falls HE FALLS HARD. Poor baby can't get you out of his mind, constantly thinking about how soft your skin feels when you accidentally brushed past him in the halls. How sweet your laughter is when you giggle at a joke. How delicious your lips would taste when you grace him with kisses. How melodious your voice would sound uttering his name. You're just so dreamy and he's desperate to have you. I think the first thing he'd do when he realizes he can't get you out of his head is go to either Rex or Cody (Or maybe Anakin) to ask for advice. Obviously his older brothers (and general) wouldn't mind giving him some guidance. Tips on how to win her over. Ballpark estimates of what girls like (following the ever-basic "buy her flowers, girls love that stuff"). The most effective way of killing off anyone who gets too close to her without her tracing it back to you. Where the Chloroform is kept (You can't just hit your cyare in the back of the head with a blaster, it's just not right vod) They're all so helpful. Fives definitely takes their advice, although admittedly he'd be happier if you fell in love with him on your own accord. He'd feel kinda bad about kidnapping you.
Now Fives is definitely the clingy type. Trailing after you like a lost puppy, he's actually kinda excited when you leave the Jedi temple cause that means the two of you can go outside together. He's got no sense of personal space, constantly holding your hand or having an arm around your waste.
"Hold on mesh'la! Why are you walking so fast? It almost looks like you're trying to get away from me."
Tup and Echo are a little annoyed with how much of their vod's time you occupy. And how he's always talking about you. Still, they're happy for him and they'll do anything to make sure you stay with Fives. Despite their jealousy, they do try to be good wingmen. Even if that means stalking you through the streets of Coruscant. And forcefully dragging you back into Fives loving arms.
I agree!! He's totally super protective of his cyare!! Making sure that anyone who hurts you (physically or emotionally) is dealt with rapidly. He also likes to eliminate competition before it fully arises. Oh, someone looked at you from across the dance floor. Their corpse will be found the next morning in the trashcan. Did some guy ask for your number? Well, they had to take a quick "trip" to the "outer rim", so you won't be hearing from them for a while. After some time I feel like his darling would just give up and accept that they can't leave him. He's a great lover and he's so cute, I can't help but imagine that reader slowly starts to fall (very hard) for Fives too!!
The Jedi totally encourage this behavior. The poor clone troopers need love too! Anakin is super proud of Fives for picking such a sweet girl and if you ever go to him for help trying to escape your new lover. Then Anakin would harshly chaste you and drag you back to Fives personally. Ashoka would just start listing off reasons why Fives is the best lover for you. And Obi-Wan would hear nothing of it, Fives has gone to so much trouble for you at least try to show some gratitude!
I like to think that clones don't go after each other's lovers and are super respectful to one another. Push comes to shove, some clones just end up sharing a lover. What I wouldn't give to be shared between my favorite clones~💜

He drops his things in the doorway the moment he sees you sprawled on the bed like a homecoming gift. Fives’ mouth falls open before clamping shut, eyes darting up and down as he drinks in your figure — the nakedness of your body; the seduction in your eyes; that teasing little smile…
It pulls him in like a siren’s song. He’s dazed, dropping piece by piece of armor until he’s struggling to kick his boots off. His eyes never leave yours as you curl a finger, giggling when he shucks the black fabric of his body glove over his head. When it comes to his pants, you stop him with an arched brow, crawling to the edge of the bed to look up at his smirk.
“Hey, baby,” you purr, fingertips sliding past the waistband of his pants to slowly nudge them down. “Welcome home.”
He doesn’t speak at first. It’s nothing but a deep, satisfied hum from his chest, tongue flicking to wet his lips as he watches you pull the fabric over the plushness of his thighs and down his legs. He steps out of them and in an instant, pushes his fingers against your shoulder. You’re guided against the mattress, the bed dipping as he climbs over you.
“This is a nice surprise,” he murmurs quietly, dipping his head in the crook of your neck to breathe deeply. His nose caresses up your neck, down the shape of your jaw. His eyes are shut but they open the moment he pulls away to look at you, huffing a breath of disbelief. “You gonna make me wait any longer?”
   “I wouldn’t dare.”
You open your legs, accepting the weight of his hips against yours with a groan. Fives’ hands are roaming, searching in between your hips until he finds what he seeks — the length of his stiffness, already swollen and waiting to be touched. He’s impatient, rushed hands gripping your hips to pull you farther down the mattress.
You’re holding his gaze when he slips it in, eyes widening at the fullness, the stretch. It drives a groan out of your lips and his, muffled by the kiss he claims. He gives it a moment, a brief second of adjustment, before he begins to buck his hips. Your legs wrap around his waist, ankles locking against the tense muscles of his ass.
The bed creaks with each thrust. He’s love but he’s dominating, pushing and pulling with the intent to tear and rebuild. To break down and reform. Drunk gasps break between your mouths as they dance, tongues curling and spit dripping. It trickles down your chin as wild and untamed as his thrusts, which only pick up the pace when the faintest whimper of, “Fives,” manages to slip through your lips.
Shocks surge through your legs. Shaking fits cause you to tremble, his fingertips kneading into the skin of your hips as he thrust and grunts and tears his way through every wall that once held him back from touching you.
It’s a sudden shove that causes your eyes to water. Rather than pleasure, it brings the faintest wave of pain that makes you grimace. Fives doesn’t notice as he looks down, watching himself slip inside of you over and over with nothing but impatience and carnal intent.
Your hands slide up and over his shoulders, tears slipping out of the corner of your eyes as the pain bubbles. For a moment, all you can do is gasp until you can’t do anything but rasp, “F-Fives. R-red.”
He pauses immediately, eyes wide as he looks at your face. When he notices the tears, he pulls himself out of you, one hand pressed against the mattress while the other cups the side of your face, tilting your chin upwards. You sniffle, reaching up to wipe the tears that slip when he shakes his head, doing it himself with the pad of his thumb.
“Mesh’la,” he breathes, pinching his brows together in an expression of guilt. “Was I too rough? Do you want to stop?”
“N-No,” you whimper, shaking your head. Cupping both sides of his face, you pull him down to press your foreheads together, your voice soft. “I just got you back… I don’t want to stop. Just… just go a bit softer, okay?”
“You sure?” He asks, bringing your hand up to kiss your palm. “I don’t want to hurt you anymore.”
“You could never,” you assure, gently dragging your leg along his. “Take your time, love. I’m not going anywhere.”
He pulls away to look at you. It isn’t just a glance or a brief graze of his eyes. It’s a long, long stare. The kind of look that brings everything to his eyes — his appreciation and his love. He nods and with a gentle touch, repositions his cock between your legs. With a gentle, easing thrust, he slides into you and it’s unlike anything you experienced before. The fullness comes gradually and his soft touch is like silk. Your body accepts him with ease as he fists the mattress on both sides of your head.
Before he can begin moving, he lowers his head and presses his lips against your ear.
“You’re my good little cyare, aren’t you?”
His thrust is slow — an aching, teasing grind in you, then out.
   “Say it.”
You hardly find the strength to speak, uttering the smallest whisper of, “P-Please-”
His chuckle is low, vibrating through his chest and into yours. It sends goosebumps up your legs and down your spine, sweat dripping down your neck.
Again, he moves. Slow and gentle. In, pressing his hips to yours, then out, all the way to his tip.
“Say it,” he demands, soft yet sturdy.
“I’ll b-be your good little cyare…” Your voice is a whimper that makes him smirk against your neck. He presses kiss after kiss, teasing the softest bite against your jugular to make you groan.
“Fucking perfect,” he grunts, driving his hips in and out, over and over again with the softness you ached for. The love you yearned for in his absence.
He’s fucking you with the gentleness of a praising lover, his hands clenching the sheets with white knuckles while his body writhes. Every muscle contracts and flexes, the plain of his back rippling like a river. He keeps his nose against your neck, sucking and licking and biting with restraint. Each smooth buck of his hips is met with a kiss to your jaw… your cheek… the faintest path left behind by the tears in the corner of your eyes.
When his lips meet your forehead, he goes still and you feel him tense within the comfort of your heat. His hips press to your waist, tight and needy yet safe. His breath is a shudder, shaky and blissed as he dips his head to catch your lips in a kiss — one that ends with a bite to your bottom lip.
   “Say it again.”
A soft, gentle demand whispered against your mouth.
You look into his eyes and smile.
“I’ll always be your good little cyare,” you murmur, caressing his jaw with the pad of your fingertip. “And you’ll always be mine.”
   He hums. “Yeah?”
You nod and he chuckles, shaking his head.
“Then let me show you how good your little cyare can be…”

hi ya!
'm just thinking about what might have happened if Fives escaped and was able to tell the Jedi about order 66. and how he volunteers to be the first person to undergo surgery to remove the chip.
could i request something fluff where he wakes up and his only request is to see you first?
Hey there friend,
I might have went a bit ham on this, so I'm happy to take another stab at Fives fluff for you if this doesn't measure up, just say the word. Also wanted to see if I could hit two birds with one stone since my bingo square for @clonexreaderbingo was "Tell me the truth". C'mon..it had to be Fives.
Psst...if you want the follow up, go check out "Reunited" by @photogirl894

The door slid open to her abode. Silence swallowed her whole as she crossed the threshold into the dim lighting. White medic shoes abandoned by the door with a space left empty for a set of clone trooper's boots. He would have been on leave by now. His crooked grin would greet her as she would come home after a tough shift.
Now, her apartment became her torture chamber. The floor of the foyer still stung her knees. Her heart clenched at the memory. Her trooper would never come home. Every room a reminder of him. His favorite Coruscant liquor was still nestled in the freezer, hidden out of view by pints of ice cream that became a necessary purchase for lonely nights. His spare razor was still perched by the refresher sink; she would still hope to find those irksome dark hairs from him meticulously grooming that goatee. If she sat still on the couch long enough, she could almost hear his fake yawn that was usually followed by his arm snaking around her shoulders. The bed was often avoided. Too many memories were made between those sheets. Too much heart ache to untangle that left her sleepless. Resigned to her fate, she slouched down onto the couch in hopes of aching muscles and sore soles whisking her off to a dreamless slumber.
A sharp series of knocks ripped her from her thoughts. A deep sigh left her lips as she begrudgingly hefted herself to the door. A familiar face greeted her.
“Commander Tano,”
The togruta was silent taking in the medic's appearance for only a moment.
“I need you to follow me.”
A gruff swear left the medic's lips before she hustled to snatch up her shoes.
“Another load from the front lines or is it civvies with seppie-cough again?”
“You'll see.”
After a moment to lock up her abode, the medic followed after the young commander through the maze of buildings and into the nearby speeder. The pair were quiet as buildings and speeders alike streaked by as their transport weaved through the gridlock. However, the medic spoke up after the speeder passed the medical facility with no attempt at stopping.
“Where are we going?”
“The jedi wanted to see you about something.”
She frowned, “I don't think they'd be calling me if one of them was injured.”
“Let's just say you were specifically requested.”
The medic shook her head. Some things never change.
Tumblr media
The speeder ride was uneventful as the pair were dropped off at the rendez-vous point. She followed her escort inside only to be greeted by the commander's master. Finally, someone who would hopefully not speak in cryptic tongues.
“General, please don't tell me.”
His smile barely curled his lips.
“I'm not injured, but I do need something from you.”
Her shoulders sagged, “Always happy to serve the GAR.”
With a jerk of his head, the women followed behind as they traveled deeper inside the building.
“We...made a bit of a discovery.”
“Are the seppies using bio weapons again?”
“We don't know, but we're getting to the bottom of things. I'm more doing this as a favor.”
They continued winding through identical halls until the jedi halted.
“This may be a shock, but take it slow.”
The door slid open and once they guided her inside, the medic finally glanced to what was reposed on a cot.
Her breath robbed from her as she crept closer. Bile rose from the pit of her stomach as she stared into a set of whiskey colored eyes.
“Hey babe.”
Her smile fell. What kind of sick joke was the galaxy playing on her? The lonely nights, the hollow pang in her chest as she would be forced to stare at the same face day in day out. Tears blurred her eyes.
“Fives...?”
His expression softened as he closed the distance. A hand gingerly taking one of hers.
“Re..Rex said you were...” She no longer trusted her voice as it pitched towards a sob.
“I know, babe. Rex doesn't know.”
“We need Fives to lay low while the Jedi council deals with some matters. There's a place in the Outer Rim where he can be safe until the senate needs him.” Anakin spoke up.
Another stream of tears graced her cheeks, “So that's it? You drop off and come back only to tell me you're leaving?”
The clone's hands moved up her arms gently bringing her into his embrace.
“No, baby. It's not like that.”
Her hands met his chest as she pushed gaining distance from him. Hands shaking as she attempted to glare through tears.
“Then tell me the truth.” She spat, “Tell me why I shouldn't walk out that door and pretend we never met.”
His eyes slid closed and he took a breath. He opened them after a moment stealing a glance to the jedi general before returning to his lover.
“I don't know if you'll believe me.” He shrugged his shoulders, “I hardly believe it.”
“Try me.”
He held his hands up, “Alright,” His lips formed a line for a moment, “When they made us, the Kaminoans put these chips in us, and...they make us do things. And those things aren't always good.”
“Does that mean you still have it? The uh...chip?”
“I found out about it after...well, after Tup, but mine's out.” He reached up to brush a bandage plastered against his temple.
“and...but what does that have to do with the council?”
“They don't know who had the chips put in, and they're aiming to find out.”
“and with everyone thinking you're dead..”
“No one would be looking for me.”
She sighed, “Well, you're right. That's pretty farfetched.”
He shrugged with the hint of a smile, “Told ya.”
“So you're off to the Outer Rim..”
His hands reached out for hers holding them between each of his, “Shuttle's got room for one more.”
The statement hung in the room drowning out everything else. Everything slid into place. A promise long forgotten of a quiet life together with the war behind them.
Her fingers squeezed around his as her pulse quickened.
“When do we leave?”

It was the worst headache of your life. Everything throbbed. The pain radiated from your right temple and washed over your head, your neck, and then down your spine in sharp, ceaseless waves. The tension pulled your brow together, but any furrowing sent a new stabbing sensation straight to your forehead. The only comfort came from the surface below. Whatever you were lying on, the texture was worn, and the surface was stiff, but a damp coolness saturated the fabric, soothing your aching head.
Where am I? You wondered, the thought forming in between the blooms of pain.
You blinked. The world was blurred as you tried to peek out from under heavy eyelids. The only light was faint, barely illuminating the shadows surrounding you. Awareness slowly returned to your limbs, and you realized you were lying on your side. You stretched out an arm and pushed yourself up. A groan left your lips at the effort.
“Oh, thank the little gods,” You heard a voice you couldn’t place. “You’re awake.”
You tried to turn to the person, but the movement and the change of position were too much. The world started to sway, and you began to plummet back downwards again.
“Whoa, whoa.” Large arms wrapped around you, halting your fall.
Whoever caught you pulled you into them, steadying you against their body, but any softness of their form was interrupted by a stiff, immovable chest. A puzzle piece to this mystery. Plastoid. You blinked. Armor. You blinked again. The haze started to leave your vision, but that didn’t make what you saw any clearer.
“Fives?”
The Arc Trooper grinned down at you, his trademark sideways smile still just as bright in the dim light.
“Hey, mesh’la.”
The clouds of your lightheadedness parted. Fives was kneeling next to you, supporting your weight against his chest plate as he held you up. You moved to right yourself again, crawling onto your knees and sitting back on your heels. He let you shift away from him, though his arms cautiously followed you as you straightened yourself, in case you swayed again.
Details slowly came into focus. Rock surrounded you on all sides. The edges and deep crevasses that ran up the jagged walls created long shadows that danced along the red stone in the soft glow. The light was thrown on them by a bright orb in the middle of this cavern. Through the shine, you recognized it as one of the ARC-standard lanterns. While the illumination didn’t offer much, it was enough to show that the open space you found yourself in wasn’t large, probably no bigger than an escape pod. The floor was dirt, and underneath you lay a blanket. It was one of the GAR-issued ones that the clones carried in their packs. My pack. Your instincts as a medic made your heart jump, and you instinctively patted the ground around you, looking for your gear before you spotted it. Leaning against the opposite corner of the cave was your medic pack and all of Fives’ kit. It had all been rifled through, with supplies out everywhere. You turned back to Fives, who was watching you carefully. He stayed on his knees next to you, still within arm’s reach.
“What’s…” Whatever question was on your lips was cut off and erased by another stabbing pain.
You let out a small groan, and your hand shot to your forehead. You could feel a bacta patch on your temple. Underneath it, broken skin throbbed. You glanced down at your jumpsuit to find it covered in blood.
“Look at me.” Fives quickly spoke, pulling your eyes back to his face. “You got hit in the head. You were a real mess. I’m not you or Kix, but I tried to clean you up as best I could.”
He made you track his fingers and asked you the questions you had asked him a million times before. For how talented a soldier he was, Fives had more head injuries than the rest of the GAR combined. You could always count on finding him in your medbay after every mission for one reason or another. He tried to assess your vision but flashed fingers before you faster than you could count them.
“That’s not how you do that.” You giggled as you rolled your eyes. “Nice try, Doctor Fives.”
“Sarcasm intact, I see.” Fives chuckled, but the laugh didn’t meet his eyes.
He raised his hand to your chin and slowly tilted it so he could inspect your wound. He lifted his other hand to graze over your temple, pressing down on the bacta patch that he must have gotten from your pack and placed on your wound earlier.
“Wasn’t deep, luckily.” He said, his voice soft now. “Just bled a ton. You scared me, mesh’la.”
He was close. So close. And the look on his face made you wonder.
“A big ole ARC Trooper was scared for me?” You teased, desperate for anything to break the tension.
His eyes met yours before he flicked them back to the bandaged wound. Oh, you swallowed before you quickly reprimanded yourself. You had to do that often with Fives. You had been with the 501st since the beginning of the war, and you loved every one of the men you served with. They loved you too. When you weren’t chasing the brave -if slightly reckless - soldiers into battle, they were often pulling you into their own shenanigans, like nights out at 79’s or games of sabacc in the barracks or pranks that made Rex assign you all to fresher duty for a week. It was different with Fives, though.
He had no idea, of course. He didn’t know how his banter, more playful and flirty than his brothers, or that little nickname, mesh’la, affected you. He didn’t know that, through no fault of his, you had been swept off your feet by the handsome man since the moment you met him. He’d never led you on or made you think your feelings were reciprocated. He’d been nothing but respectful and kind. Still, you couldn’t shake your feelings for the ARC Trooper. You loved the way he butted heads with you. You loved how he teased the people he cared about, including you. You loved the way he looked after his brothers. You loved his ingenuity on the battlefield. Despite your best efforts, you loved Fives. You pushed your feelings aside as best you could, trying to only let them creep up on you during dark moments alone. There was no point in dwelling on it. Fives would never feel that way about you. Still, this sudden doting made your stomach twist.
Don’t read into it. You scolded yourself. He’s just worried about you. With his gaze back on your forehead, you tried to turn your attention elsewhere. You searched for the last thing you remembered.
You were on Geonosis. That much you knew. Even in the dark, the sandstone of the walls around you was apparent. Geonosis. You strained and tugged on strings as you tried to remember why you were in Geonosis or, more importantly, where on Geonosis you were.
“What’s going on, Fives?”
The ARC trooper sat back, finally confident you wouldn’t fall again, and leaned against the wall. He pulled one knee up, resting his arm on it. The other leg extended out next to you.
“What do you remember?”
He nodded as you pieced together details for him, filling in the blanks where he could. The more you tugged on those threads, the more you could weave together. Geonosis. You remembered trekking across the desert with a small squad. You remembered an ambush. A group of bugs had sprung out of the dunes. It had happened so suddenly. There had been a lot of blaster fire and explosions. As soon as the fighting started, Fives grabbed your arm, pulling you to shelter behind him. You remembered darkness engulfing the landscape and Fives cursing as his brothers disappeared from view. A sandstorm was sweeping in; brutal winds whipped up the desert as it approached. Fives took hold of your arm again, leading you to the foot of the nearby mesa. The last thing you could remember was pointing to a small cave, thinking it could offer shelter to wait out the deadly weather. Fives, barely visible even a foot in front of you as the storm finally descended, led the way. Then, nothing. There was no more thread to pull at. Trying to piece together the last of the story, you turned to look towards what you vaguely recalled to be the entrance. It was covered in broken, serrated rocks. You frowned. That couldn’t be good.
“Cave collapsed.” Fives finally admitted as you finished. “Must have been unstable, and the winds from the storm made it worse. I tried to dig out, but it just kept collapsing. Without tools, it’ll bring the whole thing down on us. And you’ve had enough head injuries for one day.”
“And you for one lifetime.” You reminded Fives. “So we’re stuck here, huh?”
He nodded, watching you as you moved to cross your legs and settle into a seated position. You noticed his careful look but kept your attention on the predicament.
“Any other exit?” You glanced around, the tall walls suddenly hugging you a little tighter.
If there were any, the cave held its secrets well. The only light came from the lamp, and the air felt heavy. Unmoving.
“No,” Fives’ face was grim when you turned back to him. “I looked after I got you cleaned up. My helmet was damaged during the cave-in, but the radar still works, and there’s nothing.”
He dropped his gaze to his boots. Fives was a lot of things, but a good liar wasn’t one of them. There was something he wasn’t telling you.
“What else?”
Fives let out a little huff. He knew lying wasn’t his strength either. After a moment, he spoke again.
“Indicators on my bucket show the oxygen supply of this little pocket isn’t… uh, well, it’s not gonna last forever.” He raised a hand, rubbing his gloved palm against the back of his neck, still not looking at you.
You frowned at Fives. You didn’t like how vague he was being. Many people mistook Fives’ carefree demeanor for carelessness, but you knew otherwise. Fives was nothing if not thorough in his recon, and that meant he was still hiding something.
“How long?” You asked, your tone still the same one you would use in the medbay. Scientific and determined.
“We have four more hours of oxygen.”
You nodded. That would explain the heaviness of the air.
“Is anyone coming?”
“Yes, Rex is on… on his way.” He coughed as he spoke.
You watched as his jaw twitched from the tension and his gaze shifted further from yours. You glanced at his helmet. It sat among the scattered gear, the antenna snapped off and lying beside it on the ground. You considered your own communicator for a moment but knew its range would never make it through these stone walls. You looked back at Fives.
“Don’t lie to me.” If you could have registered anything at that moment, you would have been surprised at how suddenly quiet your voice was.
Fives flicked his eyes back to finally meet yours. He stared, his honey-brown irises flickering gold in the dim light.
“No,” He finally answered, like a sentencing. “Comms are down. No one is coming.”
You nodded. Your gaze fell to your palms. This was it. Trapped with no way out. You had always known you could die during this war. You had assumed it would be on the battlefield. The thought that it wouldn’t be twisted in your gut. A rage began to boil. You didn’t want to die here, suffocating. You wanted to go down fighting. You looked back at Fives, ready to protest against your fate. Then you saw his face. He met you with a look of understanding that stopped any objection on your lips.
“It’s okay.” He shrugged. “I’m mad too. I’m a soldier. I’m supposed to die on my feet, not in some cave.”
With that, the rage disappeared.
“I’m sorry, Fives.”
“Me too.” He gave you a half-smile. “Honestly, part of me hoped you wouldn’t wake up. Then you wouldn’t have known. You wouldn’t have to wait.”
You tried to return his half-smile, but your heart panged at the thought of Fives having to wait for death alone. You crawled to sit against the wall next to him. Pressing your back against the stone wall, you rested your head on his pauldron.
“Well, I’m glad I’m awake.” You finally spoke. You were surprised to find that you meant it. “What now?”
“Just wait, I guess.”
You didn’t have to look at Fives to see the defeat that had swept over him. It was clear in his voice, the emptiness of his tone ringing like a gong. You frowned. If you were going to be awake, you had to do something. Your eyes fell onto the gear scattered at the foot of the opposite wall.
“I have a sabacc deck.” You tilted your head up at the ARC trooper.
“You’re on.” Fives snorted as he grinned down at you, the smile finally meeting his eyes.
Time crept on at a cruel pace. Too fast and too slow at the same time. The two of you had an unspoken agreement not to look at the indicators on Fives’ helmet. The mood was heavy, but you were grateful to be with Fives. You moved to sit across from him, a perfect little space for sabacc forming between the two of you. Fives discarded his armor, and you had unzipped the top half of your jumpsuit, tying its arms around your waist. Even still, the white tank top clung to you in the stifling heat of the cavern. The temperature aside, it almost could have been another night in the barracks, just the two of you outlasting his brothers as you stayed up too late, laughing and sharing secrets.
“You think the others are okay?” Your thoughts wandered to your friends.
“Echo, Kix, and Rex are too smart to die, Jesse’s too stubborn, and Hardcase is too lucky.” Fives chuckled as he looked over his hand. “Fate’s already given up on killing ‘Case. Despite his best efforts. It’ll be some stupid hero move if he ever goes out.”
You laughed. Thinking that the rest of the squad was safe brought a little comfort, at least. Then you thought of how Fives had protected you during the fight. A hero.
“Like protecting civilian medic during a firefight?” The cards in front of you began to swim, and your eyes quickly found the cave's dirt floor. “You shouldn’t have helped me.”
“Don’t say that.” Fives frowned and tilted his head down so he could meet your gaze. “I would have been looking for shelter during that storm, no matter what. I always would have ended up here.”
Fives looked away, his attention back on the game as he cast the die. You quickly blinked, trying to clear your burning eyes. He swore at the numbers that came up.
“Your turn,” He smiled at you. “And for the record, protecting you… I don’t regret it. Not for a second.”
You sighed. Regrets. You had plenty, and now, the thought that maybe you had led Fives here to this fate was quickly climbing the list. It was more suffocating than the dwindling oxygen. Fives must have been able to see the shadow lingering over you.
“Hey,” He placed his cards to the side and patted the ground between his legs. “Come here.”
You climbed over Fives’ shins and settled yourself against his chest. You stared out into the darkness as Fives wrapped an arm around you, pulling you back into him. It was a little too warm to be comfortable, but you lifted a hand to his forearm and clung to him all the same.
It wasn’t the first time you’d been this close to Fives. All the clones were comfortable with you, hugging you, picking you up, teasing you like a sister. Fives was no different; it always made your crush that much harder. Even now, as death waited around the corner, your heart raced a little faster. You frowned at yourself, willing it to slow. As you tried to focus, you realized that you could feel his heartbeat where his chest pressed to your back. That didn’t help your own heart rate or your focus.
Finally, Fives broke the silence you didn’t realize had settled between you two.
“I wish I could’ve seen the end of it, you know?” His voice was quieter than you’d ever heard it.
“The end of what?” You asked, still staring out into the dark.
“The war. I’d like to give peace a try.” It was his turn to sigh. “I know they wouldn’t just let us go. There’s always another war to fight, but maybe… maybe I could’ve had a life too. Settle down, raise a family. Deploy when they need me but get to come back to a place that was home instead of just a different set of barracks. Maybe I could’ve had a chance to be more than just a number.”
You thought of the heart beating behind you. How alive he was. Fives always had been, and that zeal permeated everything he did. When it came down to it, that was why you fell in love with him. A number’s heart never beat like that.
“You’ve never been just a number.” You whispered, more to the darkness than to Fives. “Not to me.”
You settled further into his chest and closed your eyes. You could still feel the gentle rhythm of his heart between your shoulder blades. The idea that it would come to a stop in a few short hours was too much to bear. You reached for the hand that wasn’t holding you. You needed to feel its warmth. You pulled it into your chest, clasping his hands.
Then you felt his fingers lace through yours. You opened your eyes and looked over your shoulder to find Fives watching you.
Your heart stopped. Time slowed. You knew the gleam in his eyes. You’d always wanted him to look at you like that, like you were the only thing in the world. Right now, you supposed you were.
“Even after everything, you know what my only regret will be?” His breath was hot against your neck.
“What?” Your heart was racing again.
“I never got to kiss you.”
Before you could stop yourself, you let go of his forearm and reached for the collar of his compression top. You pulled him into you. Fives met your lips solidly, stunned and in shock. In the next moment, you felt him begin to melt into the kiss. His hunger quickly matched yours, and he slid his tongue over your lip, begging entrance. You let him in, the shock of your actions finally sparking within you as you savored his taste.
No more regrets, a voice in the back of your head boomed, and a boldness suddenly came over you.
Never leaving his lips, you spun your torso to him and brought yourself to your knees, straddling his legs. He pulled you to his chest, deepening the kiss now that you were at a better angle. His goatee brushed your chin, a comforting reminder that this was real. It was really Fives kissing you. Your hands found his the back of his neck where you clung to him as Fives sealed his lips on yours. He wrapped one arm around your waist while the other hand cupped the back of your head, tilting you so he could taste every inch of your mouth. You sucked on his tongue, and Fives let out a small rumble that went straight to your core. His scent, a heady warmth with a hint of plasma, overwhelmed your senses. He was all you could breathe now, but you needed more. You wanted to feel him. You let your hands fall to his chest and pushed back, breaking the kiss.  He stared up at you, this kneeling position giving you the height advantage. His jaw was slack, and his brown eyes were dazed as you met his gaze. You reached for the hem of your white tank top and pulled it over your head, stripping it from your body, and tossed it aside. Fives leaned back as he gapped at you, stunned by your movement. You turned your attention to his clothing, tugging at the edge of his compression shirt.
“Wait, wait!” Fives’ hands met yours. “Are you sure?”
“Yes,” Your voice was firm as you watched him, unblinking.
He swallowed, his grip a little tighter on your hands. He wanted this too.
“We’re going….” His look kept getting pulled back to your lips. “We’re going to use up oxygen.”
“I don’t care.” Your eyes roved over his face. You had waited so long for this. If you were going to die, you wanted to do it by his lips. “Do you?”
“Kriff, no.” He half-growled, any reservations disappearing with your consent.
Everything became rushed. Each movement was faster than the next as you both raced against the clock. Fives released your hands, letting you strip the top from his form. You ran your hands back down over his muscled, tan chest.  Fives groaned at your touch before he tugged at your waist, pulling you back into his lips. You gripped his powerful bicep in one hand while the other found its way to his curls, tugging gently at the short hair and earning a moan from Fives. His broad fingertips dug at your bare skin, needy and wanting. He ran his hands over your ribs and under your binder, grazing the sensitive skin underneath your breasts. Then, he traced his way downward. His hands snuck under the fabric of your jumpsuit and made their way over the curve of your legs and around to your backside, kneading at your flesh as he pulled you closer to him still. You felt him harden beneath you. He left your lips to kiss along your jaw before he found a spot on your neck. He sucked and nipped, sending a shiver that traveled from your pulse point down to the pooling heat in the pit of your stomach. You wished you had more time.
You didn’t, though. Even now, the invisible timer ticked away in the back of your head. You moved to squat so you could strip your jumpsuit from your lower half. Fives held you up, his strong hands gripping under your arms as you struggled with the fabric. In sloppy movements, you finally pulled the jumpsuit and underwear from your legs. Fives quickly wrapped you back into him as soon as possible. Your kiss was frenzied now. His hands traveled up and down your body, caressing every inch of your skin he could reach as he swept his fingertips over you in a hurried march. They returned to your binder, where they lingered for a moment. Fives traced your pert nipples through the fabric, the friction teasing your sensitive skin, but after letting out a small huff in your mouth, he moved on. The timer was clearly ticking for him too. Fives found his true target as his hand trailed downward and made its way between you. He paused at your soaking opening only for a moment, tracing your tight ring of muscle just enough to tease you before he quickly slid a warm finger home.
His lips moved back to your neck as you snapped your hips against his hand. He added a second finger and sank deeper, meeting your movements. It wasn’t long before he found your sweet, spongy spot and pumped his hand against it, pulling moans and mews from your lips. His thumb came to your clit, teasing small circles around your sweet mound until you were putty in his hands.
“Just fuck me already.” You begged.
“Oh, mesh’la.” He nipped at your ear.
It was a promise. Fives pulled his fingers from you and reached for the hem of his body glove. He pulled it down, revealing his hardened length, veiny and thick with want. He took himself in his hand, smearing your slick over it as he stroked himself. You raised yourself up over him. He slotted himself against your entrance before he looked up at you. You met his eyes as you both paused for a beat. Fives looked like he still wanted to say something to you, but after a moment, he just surged forward and captured your mouth with his once more.
“Fives.”
You sunk down onto him as you gasped his name against his lips. He pushed against your walls as he entered you, reaching every corner, the pressure making your head swim. You clawed at his chest as you sank to the hilt, any pain turning quickly to pleasure. He gripped your waist, a sharp breath leaving him as he waited for you to adjust.
“Fuck,” He muttered. His hips twitched beneath you as he battled with his body to give you a moment to recover. “You feel incredible.”
“I need to move, please.” You pleaded with him as you reached for his shoulders.
You began to ride him, lifting yourself up and sinking down, letting his cock fill you up again and again. He raised up to meet you with every movement, turning you into a babbling mess as you came apart on his cock. His hand found your clit again.
His thumb refused to slow as it drew wave after wave of bliss from you. Fives’ eyes watched the place where you came together, staring as he stretched you out with every rolling movement. Soon, you felt yourself being pulled to the brink. You let your head fall into his neck.
“I’m so close.” You mumbled against his skin.
“Look at me.” His lips were pressed against your ear as he begged.
You opened your eyes and lifted your head to meet his eyes. I love you, you wanted to say, but you held back. Instead, you tried to tell him with your eyes and prayed he heard you. You wanted him to feel loved. His eyes burned back at you, meeting you with all the want and need you felt for him.
White spots formed behind your vision, and you began to shake. Fives snapped his hips upward, pushing you over the edge and sending you plummeting into your orgasm. He followed quickly afterward, cumming with three final thrusts as he filled you up.
You collapsed into his chest, letting your head fall to his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around you as he softened within you. You were both slick with sweat, but neither of you moved as you tried to catch your breath. You wondered for a moment if you would, and as Fives’ grip dug a little deeper into your arms, you had a feeling that he was wondering the same thing. But eventually, your breathing slowed, and your eyes started to flutter close.
You felt Fives lift you up and slip out of you, tucking himself back into his blacks. Then, he came back to you,  helping you tug your jumpsuit back on. You frowned at the sudden space between you. Part of you wanted to protest, but even in your hazy bliss, you knew it made sense. If anyone ever did find your bodies, it would be better not to be naked. When you were both dressed, you laid down on the blanket again and pulled him down next to you. Fives let you tug him close as both of you fought sleep just a little longer. You knew you would wake up shortly, clutching your chest and struggling for air. You knew you would both die gasping in stunned breaths. But for now, you were almost happy. His arms wrapped around you, and Fives placed one last kiss on the top of your head. You pressed your ear to his chest and let yourself fall into a final sleep to the sound of his heartbeat.

Air came rushing back into your lungs. You choked and coughed on the sudden stream. Your eyes shot open at the sudden rush. A familiar, unmistakable face swam in front of you.
“Rex?” You croaked.
You didn’t recognize your own voice, hoarse and broken. Rex, leaning over you, frowned at your effort.
“Shhh,” He quickly hushed you. “We’ve got you. Hang in there, ad’ika.”
He reached down, hoisting you up into his arms. The world behind him glowed, and somewhere, dimly in the back of your mind, you slowly formed one word, Sun. Sun, air, Rex. You were saved. Where was Fives, though?
You started to panic. Fives. You wriggled in Rex’s arms.
“Hey, hey!” He warned as he tried to hold on to you.
 “Fives.” You croaked again.
“He’s okay,” Rex assured you, pulling you tighter to him. “Echo’s got him.”
Fives was safe. You stopped wiggling. The darkness crept in again, and you let it take you.

You spent the trip back to Coruscant drifting in and out of consciousness as you floated in a hyperbaric chamber. Nothing was around you. Only a benevolent darkness and your soothed subconscious. Some part of you knew this was supposed to feel peaceful, but something in you was still restless. Even nirvana didn’t feel as peaceful as Fives’ arms had.
Consciousness finally crept up on you in the medbay. Unlike the cave, you knew where you were the moment you opened your eyes. You instantly recognized the sterile walls, the bright lights, and the stiff, scratchy fabric of the patient gowns. And if those weren’t enough clues, the face that soon bobbed over you would have been.
“What the fuck?” Kix prodded at you, poking your shoulder with an outstretched finger as he appeared next to your hospital bed.
“Is this always your bedside manner?” You groaned as you pushed yourself up on your arms, decidedly tired of waking up like this. “No wonder I’m the favorite medic.”
“Like hell you are.” Kix grinned as he waved his fingers in front of your face, starting your second neuro exam of the day. “Besides, this bedside manner is reserved for my civilian medic who tried real hard to die on me.”
“What a bitch.” You sighed as you leaned back into the thin mattress, closing your eyes.
“No kidding,” Kix huffed as he continued your assessment.
You let him feel your pulses and shine a light in your eyes as you drifted off with your thoughts. You were alive. That should be a good thing; underneath, you knew it was. But there was an empty feeling like you had left something in the cave, and it was gone forever. Like it had slipped through your hands. Despite your best efforts, you found your thoughts drifting toward Fives.
Fives. Even his name made your skin crawl now. You practically had thrown yourself at him. For years, you had been able to keep your feelings for him separate from your relationship with him. It was one thing to sleep with him if it was the last thing you ever did. But now you had lived, and you couldn’t take it back. Fives would know now, and when you saw him next, there would be nowhere to hide.
Finally, Kix was satisfied you were well enough to leave the medbay. He pointed out a pile of clothes that Echo had collected for you and turned to go so you could have some privacy. Before he pulled the door shut across, Kix paused.
“Glad you’re here, ad’ika.”
You smiled back at the medic, the empty feeling abating just a little. You were alone with your thoughts, but the familiar beeps and alarms of the medbay machinary brought you some comfort. You focused to the squeaky orchestra as you slowly dressed.  You had just pulled your shirt in when there was a knock on the door.
“Come on in.” You called, trying to think what test Kix could possibly have forgotten.
Instead, Fives opened the door. Your jaw and your heart dropped as you met his brown eyes.
“Hey, mesh’la.”
His usual nickname made your stomach twist. Panic threatened to overwhelm you as your heart began to race. You felt your lungs begin to heave again, desperate for more oxygen as your body readied to run. He stayed in the doorway, the space between you both too much and not enough all at once. Your eyes traveled up and down him, clad once again in his armor. There was no softness. Nothing you could cling to anymore. Breathe, you reminded yourself.
“Hey.” You tried to smile at him but your mouth refused.
“Just wanted to check on you.” He rubbed a hand along the back of his neck, eyes roving around the room.
“I’m good.” You watched him, trying to read his every move, but there was nothing. No hints of what he was feeling or, worse, what he was thinking. Breathe. “You?”
“Yeah.” That sideways smile flickered over his face for an instant and then it was gone. “Good as new.”
Silence settled between you, almost as suffocating as the cavern. Breathe.
“So we made it.” Fives finally spoke, his look finally finding yours.
“Yeah,” you shifted under his stare. Breathe.
Fives opened his mouth, but a long beep cut him off. He looked down at the comm on his wrist and groaned.
“I gotta take this.”
“Of course.” You nodded, flashing him a smile that you imagined probably looked more like a grimace.
He nodded before he vanished, ducking out of the door quicker than he had appeared. You dropped back into the cot with a groan. You suddenly wanted to crawl back into the hyperbaric chamber and slip back into the abyss.
Instead, the cruiser made it to Coruscant, and you were able to busy yourself with work. As soon as the landing ship let you out and onto the base, you threw yourself into the medical supplies. You sorted and restocked for hours, ignoring Rex and then Coric when they each tried to stop you in turn.
You were kneeling on the ground, restocking one of the med kits that the clones kept in their barracks, when the lid snapped shut, nearly catching your fingers as it came down.
You glared upwards to find Jesse grinning down at you. Kix stood beside him, arms crossed.
“You‘re coming out.” Kix’s tone was stern. It was the tone he usually reserved for delivering bad medical news. “Doctor’s orders.”
You opened your mouth to protest, but Jesse quickly cut you off.
“Come on,” Jesse nodded towards the door. “We’re all going to 79’s, and we’re not taking no for an answer.”
“Sorry, no is the only answer I’ve got.” You reached to flip the lid back open on the kit, but Kix’s boot beat you to the top, sealing it shut with his weight.
“Just come before we have to unleash more cruel tactics.” Jesse quipped.
“You mean the two of you get more annoying?” You glared at them, but there was no bite behind it.
They glanced at each other and grinned. They had won, and they knew it.

79’s was crowded. Your head throbbed with the bass, remnants of the concussion that you and Kix had a mutual, unspoken agreement to ignore tonight. But it was proving harder than you had hoped. Beyond the music and the flashing lights, the men you came with weren’t helping, despite your affection for their enthusiasm. They all crowded you and Fives into a back booth where they were whooping and hollering at a near-constant rate. Each soldier took turns slapping you on the back and offering to buy you a drink. You smiled at every one of them in turn and thanked them, but you stuck to sipping on water.
You had decided to be sober tonight for a few reasons. The concussion was one of them. The other was across the table, Echo’s arm slung over his shoulder. Echo, who had refused to let Fives stray more than arm’s reach away from him, told the story of how he had been able to triangulate your location based on the maps from the mission briefing and, when he saw the rock wall, knew what had happened. It had taken General Skywalker thirty minutes to get the equipment to the mountainside, and the hot-headed Jedi had apparently fumed the entire time. Then, when the droids moved the rocks from the cave entrance, they were able to pull you out and from the brink of death.
You tried your best to smile at Echo while he recounted. It was proving hard, though, because you still couldn’t bring yourself to look at Fives. To your left, Hardcase leaned across you to whisper to Jesse and Coric.
“We need to get him laid.” He giggled conspiratorially as he glanced at the ARC and then back to his brothers.
“We need to get them both laid.” Jesse elbowed you.
“Nothing like ‘I’m still alive’ sex.” Coric nodded firmly.
Jesse raised a glass.
“I’ll toast to that!” He smirked, and Hardcase joined them.
The drink sloshed out of their glasses and down the front of your jumpsuit. As it darkened, you remembered the blood. Suddenly nauseous, you jumped from your seat. The clones stared up at you with wide apologetic eyes. Then they all spoke at once.
“Kriff,” Hardcase swore as he tried to signal a droid for a towel.
“Here,” Jesse grabbed for all the napkins he could reach on the table.
“Sorry, sorry!” Coric apologized.
“It’s fine.” You pushed Jesse’s hands away as he tried to dab up the liquid. You turned to Hardcase and nodded to him to let you out of the booth.
He quickly jumped up, still profusely swearing inbetween sincere apologies. You brushed him off as you made for the fresher.
Quickly, you found a hand dryer to dry off your clothes. You glanced in the mirror to inspect the outfit. It was an old jumpsuit you wouldn’t miss if whatever acrid liquor they were drinking wouldn’t come out of it. It wasn’t the stain that caught your eye, though. Instead, you were caught off guard by the sour look on your face. No wonder they were trying to cheer you up, you thought. You didn’t look like someone who had just survived a near-death experience. You looked like someone who had just been sentenced to death.
You sighed. Tonight was a lost cause. You should sneak out now, you decided, and comm Jesse and Kix with an apology later. Coric and Hardcase, too, probably. Tomorrow would be a better day. You just needed time.
You left the fresher, a sense of hope creeping in for the first time in hours. It fled the moment you stepped back into the bar.
“Hey, I was coming to look for you.”
You stared slackjawed at Fives. He had somehow managed to escape Echo’s grip and was waiting outside the fresher. Clad only in armor from the waist down, and his compression top rolled up to reveal his forearms, he looked even more handsome than usual in the muted, neon light. A sheepish grin danced on his lips. Your heart skipped a beat, and you cursed yourself. Even after everything, you couldn’t shake how you felt.
He opened his mouth to speak again, but a different voice boomed over the music, calling out both of your names.
“What are you two doing back here?” Hardcase sprung on you and threw an arm over your shoulder.
“We were just saying we need to get you two laid!” Hardcase wrapped his other arm around Fives, pulling you both into him. “Nothing like ‘We’re still alive’ sex!”
“Not as good as ‘We’re going to die’ sex.” Fives let out a half-laugh as his eyes slid around Hardcase to meet yours.
You choked.
You had to leave now. You would have to transfer. Quit. Go AWOL. You didn’t know what you were going to do, but right now, you needed to leave this bar.
“I’ll see you guys at the table.” You said as you slipped out from under Hardcase’s arm.
You scurried through the club, skirting the bar and dashing for the door, desperately avoiding the eyes of any well-meaning clones that stepped out of your way, afraid you might find a pair that would try to stop your flight.
The cool, Coruscant night air filled your lungs as you gasped, your body still seeking more oxygen. You wondered if that feeling would ever go away. As you tried to catch your breath, you glanced around. The platform outside the club was empty, and there was no air taxi in sight. You sighed and dialed a comm. Then you heard your name.
“Are you running away?”
The voice was unmistakable. It might haunt you for the rest of your life. You closed your eyes, trapping the tears that suddenly welled up behind your eyelids.
“Just leave me alone, Fives.”
He called your name again. His voice was closer this time. Then you felt a hand come to rest on your shoulder. You stepped away from his grasp before you spun to face him.
In the wide open platform, Fives looked small for the first time you could remember. His chest was rising and falling quickly like he had run out to catch you. You would have to transfer, you decided at that moment. There was no other way out of this. For either of you.
“Why did you run away?”
“Because this isn’t a joke, Fives.” You snapped at him as you took another step backward. You turned your gaze towards the city skyline as the next words spilled out of you before you could stop them. “That wasn’t We’re-going-to-die sex for me. I have feelings for you. I spent a long time ignoring it, but now, I can’t anymore, and I… I don’t know what to do.”
“How long have you had feelings for me?”
“Since I joined the 501st.” You sighed, still not looking at him. “What does it matter?”
“You really have feelings for me?” He asked.
“Is that your only takeaway here?” You could have screamed in frustration, but instead, your tone was quiet and defeated.
“It’s the only one I need.”
You let yourself look back at Fives just as he broke into a wide grin. Before you could ask what he meant, Fives reached out and wrapped a hand around your wrist. He tugged you to him, pulling you back into your arms. You barely had a moment to be shocked before he kissed you.
There was nothing hurried about this kiss. When his full lips met yours, he moved against you slowly and sensually. His hand found the back of your head again, and he tilted you up to him as he parted your lips and met your tongue with slow, languid licks. He moved to you cheek and then your jawline where he trailed along with soft, sweet kisses until he found your ear.
“I’m sorry I joked.” He whispered against your skin. “I’ve loved you for a long time, and I thought I’d messed it all up. I didn’t know what else to do.”
“I love you too, Fives.” You were breathless as you whispered back.
You barely had time to notice that it was a different kind of breathless, one of excess rather than deficit. You threw your arms around his shoulders as you found his lips once more. Instead of death waiting at the end of the kiss, it was the rest of your life.
By the time you got to your apartment, your jumpsuit was half unzipped, and lipstick was smeared across Fives’ face. Neither of you cared as you stumbled through the doorway and into the bedroom.
You tugged at your zipper, desperate to strip the fabric from your body. When you finally freed yourself and let it pool on the ground around your ankles, you realized Fives wasn’t wrapped around you anymore. You spun, only to find him watching you from the doorway. A soft smile played on his lips. Peace settled across his brow. You couldn’t help but smile back.
“Hurry up, get your armor off and kriff me already.” You teased as you sat on the bed, patting the mattress next to you.
He chuckled as he stepped towards you. Then he paused, bending down to remove one of his shin plates and then the other. He moved slowly, like a man with all the time in the world. You felt excitement pulsing through you as you waited. Anticipation had every cell in your body vibrating as you waited for his touch.
Finally, stripped down to his body suit, he crossed the room in two strides until he towered over you. You felt your mouth fall open just a little as you looked up at him.
“No,” He brought a knuckle to your chin, winking as he closed your mouth. “This time, I’m going to take my time with you.”
He dropped the knuckle to your chest and pushed you over with one gentle finger. You fell softly back into the bed, your legs hanging off the edge. Staring up at your ceiling, you didn’t have time to wonder at his plan before you felt two strong palms pushing your knees apart. You looked down to see Fives fall to his knees next to the bed. A hungry look danced in his eye. His fingers wrapped around the elastic of your underwear, and you lifted up your rear enough for him to strip your panties from you. Your head fell back as you exhaled.
Fives’ lips began to ghost over your legs. The breath that skated across your body seemed to steal the one on your lips. He nipped and licked at the sensitive skin as he moved up from your knees to your inner thighs. You shivered, and your hips started to wiggle as you ached for his touch where you needed it most.
“Patience, mesh’la.” Fives whispered, his words hovering above your throbbing core.
Finally, his tongue met your center as he licked one long stripe along your lower lips. You let out a desperate moan at the attention. Your eyes fell to meet his just as he chuckled at your reaction. He flashed a smile at you before he turned back to the sight before him. He began to trace long, slow circles around your entrance, making you clench around the emptiness. His nose grazed over your clit, sending a shudder through your body and pulling another moan from your lips. Satisfied with the withering mess you had become from his teasing, Fives sunk his tongue into you. He began to lick and suck in a frenzy, groaning as he tasted you. His attention worked you quickly to the brink. He sank two fingers into your slick entrance, curling them until you cried out and came, spasming around him.
When the raptureous swell subsided, you lifted yourself up to your elbows to be greeted by Fives stripping his compression suit from his body. Finally naked, he grinned down at you with your arousal still shining in his facial hair. In an unspoken agreement, you both paused, taking the time to admire the other person. Time you didn’t get before. Muscled, broad, and covered in scattered scars and tattoos, you’d seen Fives without his shirt before. Even before your moment in the cave, you’d personally patched up more than a few of those wounds. But that didn’t stop him from taking your breath away now. Your eyes skated over his bronze form before falling to his erect, hardened length. He was weeping, having teased himself as much as he teased you. You looked back up to meet Fives’ eyes. His gaze met yours. They were shining.
“Now, will you kriff me already?” You smirked at him.
“I can’t wait another second.” He rasped.
You moved up to find the head of the bed as he clambered next to you. He moved over you in the next motion, caging you into the mattress. His honey eyes bored into yours for a moment before he leaned down and captured you in another kiss. You met his lips with a fury, tasting yourself on his tongue. You sighed into his mouth as you felt him slot against your entrance. Slowly, he sank into you, the stretch just as overwhelming as before. Your breath hitched in your throat, and Fives paused. He pulled away, watching your face as he slid back out from you before sinking in again. He continued in slow and measured movements, thrusting in and out until he was pulling moans from you with every roll of his hips. Your hand wrapped around his neck and found purchase in his curls as you looked for anything to hold on to. His breath became heavy and thick in your ear as he muttered praises.
“You feel so good.” He groaned. “My good girl. You- you have no idea... Wanted this so badly.”
His words made you clench around him, and he swore at the vice grip of your warmth. He began to move with a fury, and one hand fell to where your bodies met and found your sensitive nub. He began to draw slow circles around your swollen mound. Your arms fell to the sheets, digging into the fabric at the sensation, still overstimulated from his earlier attentions. You angled your hips up, meeting every thrust of his with one of your own. The new angle let him sink even further into you, bringing new depths of ecstasy. His circles around your clit quickened.
You began to shake as Fives brought you to the edge. Then, with a cry of his name, you stiffened as another orgasm washed over you. He returned your cry with one of his own as he finished inside you. He collapsed into your neck as he buried himself to the hilt one last time.
Fives rolled over, pulling you with him. You curled up, laying your head on his chest. You felt the thudding pulse of his heart against your ear. Without thinking, you raised a hand to his chest and began to tap one finger along with the beat. Lub, dub. Lub, dub. A tiny snort met your ears. You raised your eyes up to meet Fives’ bright stare.
“What are you doing, mesh’la?” He smiled down at you, the old nickname ringing with a different meaning now.
“It… I just needed to feel it. Hear it.” You breathed in rhythm with its gentle drumming. “I needed to know it was still beating.”
“It is.” Fives captured your hand in his and pressed to his chest. “For you. Always for you.”
You looked up at him with glassy eyes. He kissed your forehead before he leaned back into the pillow. As sleep took you, you listened to the cadence of his heartbeat with a smile on your lips.

Beta read by @agenteliix (You da best!)

New Beginnings
Fives is overjoyed when he learns that he is to be a father. That same realization also terrifies him.
Tumblr media
Warnings: Pregnancy. Talking about being pregnant. Small mention of blood.
--------------------------------------------------
"Cyare, I'm with child." You frowned. standing in front of the mirror, then rolled your eyes. What am I, a frail woman in a holodrama? You pretended to swoon.
You snorted at the attempted comedy, then straightened up and sighed. Try again.
"Hey baby, guess what? I'm pregnant!" You shook your head. Nope that wasn't it either.
"Hey Fives, guess what's for dinner? A bun in the oven!" You moved your arms wildly, motioning to grandly present your stomach in a dramatic Tah-Dah! moment. Nope. That was even dumber than the last one.
What about just plain and simple? You smiled, "Fives, I'm pregnant."
A resounding crash sounded from behind you and you spun around. Fives stood frozen in the doorway.
"You... you're what!?" He blinked slowly, eyes wide as though he couldn't quite believe what he had just heard.
You froze. Saying it to yourself was one thing but telling Fives, that somehow made everything seem so real.
"I... I'm pregnant." You whispered slowly as if just now coming to that realization yourself. "You're gonna be a father!"
Fives stood in the doorway, leaning heavily against the wooden frame, lips slightly parted.
"Pregnant." he whispered, more of a statement to himself than a question towards you. You're gonna be a father.
Was this a trick? Some holofilm you'd been watching? Did Echo put you up to this? His mind raced between all the scenarios in which you might say those words. None of them felt real. A father. How could he be a father? His heart swelled with pride but all the while a tiny voice from within scolded him sharply. Irresponsible. How could you bring a child into all of this?
But then the sheer joy and disbelief.
A father.
A dad.
Maker, there'd be a mini Fives running around. Rex would love that.
You watched him carefully for a reaction. But there wasn't one. He looked blankly ahead as if his entire being had suddenly stopped working.
Your face fell. He wasn't happy. I should've known better. He's a soldier, he doesn't have time for a baby. A thick knot formed in the back of your throat to accompany the burning in your eyes.
Fives looked surprised but his expression soon turned to one of worry.
"No, no baby, don't cry! What's wrong?!"
Too late. Your chin quivered as you tried hard not to let the disappointed tears spill down your cheeks.
"No, no sweetheart!" Fives rushed forward, folding his arms around you.
"You're not happy?" You sniffed.
Fives let out a laugh so sudden and loud that it made you jump. He pulled away so that he could meet your eyes. "Mesh'la, I'm thrilled!"
"Then why..."
The rest of your question went unsaid as he abruptly met your lips with his.
He pulled away,
"I was just kinda shocked, cyar'ika. I mean.... Me. A dad."
You looked back up at him and couldn't help but giggle. Fives grabbed your hand helping you around the catastrophe on the floor, then paused in confusion as you suddenly jerked your arm from his grasp.
"Fives! You're bleeding!"
"I...what?" He followed your alarmed gaze down to his left hand that was indeed steadily oozing blood from a gash in his palm. "Oh...oops." The two of you surveyed the mess of broken plates on the floor. He winced, looking guiltily back up at your face. You raised an eyebrow, motioning to the smashed dinnerware.
"What was all that stuff for anyway?"
Fives scratched the back of his head, "Uh, well, the old lady next door stopped me and said you might like them. I guess they were supposed to be a present, you know, for the baby or something." He bit his lip, "Sorry, Mesh'la."
You giggled. Granny Em, as you called her, was the first person you told when you found out that you were pregnant. You didn't find much use in fancy dishes but she was so kind to you and you didn't want to refuse her loving gift - not that it mattered now.
Fives groaned as you leaned heavily into his embrace. "I missed you, Mesh'la."
"I missed you too." His lips soon found a home on yours once again. You leaned into the kiss closing your eyes as you felt his hands begin to wander.
"Fives!" You sighed, trying to sound exasperated but the sentiment was quite impossible since you couldn't hold back the growing smile that threatened to overtake your face. "You're still bleeding and it's getting all over my carpet.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry!" Fives pouted, grabbing a towel from the counter beside him. He rested his chin on the top of your head, wrapping you in his arms again.
You couldn't help but smile before you playfully pulled yourself from his embrace, putting on the sternest face you could muster and grabbed his arm. "Come on, into the fresher with you!"
Fives smirked. His eyes held that mischievous twinkle you'd come to know so well. "The fresher you say?" He waggled his eyebrows.
You rolled your eyes. "Not like that."
He growled and swatted at your butt with his good hand as you dragged him over to the fresher.
"Fives!" You scolded as you pulled out the small first aid kit you kept behind the mirror, slapping it lightly into his non-injured palm. "Behave yourself!" The prickly stubble on his face tickled your lips as you placed a peck on his cheek, narrowly avoiding being sucked back into his warm advances.
"Yes ma'am." Fives salutled you playfully. Now it was your turn to swat at him.
"Hey!" he frowned, "How come you get to do that but I'm not allowed."
"Because," you placed another kiss on his cheek as you guided his injured hand to the sink. "Number one, I'm pregnant. And number two, I'm not currently bleeding all over the sink."
"Yeah, yeah." He teased, eyes crinkling as he winked at you.
****
You sighed contentedly, leaning on Fives' bare shoulder as he cleaned himself off.
"I've missed this."
Fives growled and fell backwards onto the bed taking you down with him.
"I did too."
"I missed you more though." You winked at him. Fives moaned, looping his arms around you so that your head lay on his chest.
"I missed you the most."
You lay in the quiet, enjoying the gentle feeling of being completely at home once again.
Fives chuckled in disbelief, "I still can't believe you're gonna be a mom."
You kissed his chest where you lay. "And you're gonna be a dad."
Fives was silent. You shifted onto your side, leveling to meet his eyes.
"What's wrong?"
Fives sighed. "I just....I never had a father." He scoffed, "I dont even have parents at all!" He met your eyes, then looked away as if he was embarrassed. "What if..." he spoke so softly you could hardly hear him. "What if I mess up? What if I can't be a good dad?" His voice wavered, broken in a way you'd never heard from him before. "It's just... I'm a soldier, babe. A clone soldier at that. They'll send me out wherever they want. And... And what if -"
"Oh Fives," you whispered softly cutting him off, gently resting your forehead on his. "It's okay to be scared. I'm scared too. Having a kid - it'll be something we have to learn together. This is all new to me too."
He lifted his head meeting his lips with yours. "I know, Mesh'la. I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry. We'll get through this together and tackle any problems if they arise." You kissed him softly. "I know you'll make a wonderful dad."
"And you'll make a wonderful mom."

Hello friends! I saw this gif and immediately my brain began working up scenarios so I’m going to try something new. Just some fun short fics that come to mind when I see an image. If it goes well I might keep it up! I also think I’m going to stick with the Mandalorian theme but use Y/N. Oh one more thing…we are assuming all the boys lived because I love the whole 501st…Happy reading!
One shot - Captain Rex
Tumblr media
First Date
Warnings: None just some fluff because I need it, Oh I will be using Mando’a but I will provide a translation.
Summary:
As a Mandalorian on Coruscant things have been interesting to say the least…You were recruited to help train the Clone Battalions on some alternative fighting methods. The Good Captain Rex has become one of your personal favorites and was always very professional with you but secretly harbored feelings for you. He was drawn in by how you treated each of his men as though they were your own vode (brothers). Which brings us here…Fives has noticed you stealing glances at the Captain, flushing whenever he is mentions, are giddy when he’s in the room, and has been trying to convince you to talk to him about it but you won’t budge. Fives has no problem taking matters into his own hands with the help of a few friends….
I know that scene was during the Umbara arc but we need some positivity in that department…
“Fives you are my best friend but for the love of Maker leave it alone…” He has that signature Osik (shit) eating grin on his face. “Aw come on y/n, it would do you both some good trust me!” I glare at him “Copaani mirshmure’cye, vod? (Are you looking for a smack in the face mate?)” He puts his hands up in defense “Hey I was just trying be a good friend.” Just then Jesse and Tup come over. “What’re ya talking ‘bout?” Jesse teases. I glare at him and Tup smiles “You’re being ridiculous y/n…I thought Mandalorians were supposed to be brave.” “Alright look here you mir’sheb (smart asses), I can make sure your next lesson with me is miserable” I wag my finger at the trio. Fives stands up and nods to the other two “Alright, we better let her eat her lunch in peace.” I get suspicious - he never gives up that easy… - “Pare (Wait one), Fives what are you up to?” He turns around “Nothing, like you said…you can make our next lesson miserable. I know you keep your word.” I give the group a suspicious look and watch as they walk away. Just then Rex enters the room and I pretend not to notice. Fives looks back at me and smirks, I can feel the heat creeping up my face. He, Tup, and Jesse take the opportunity to head over and chat with Rex - Maker I want to know what he’s saying…or do I?
A sudden presence at the table surprises me. “Udesii! (Take it easy!), bad time?” Cody asks giving me a strange look. “Nope, I’m fine. What can I do for you?” He takes a seat across from me and eyes me. I look past him at the conversation being had on the other side of the room and just then Rex glances over his shoulder my direction. Cody turns around to look and in that moment, the brave Mandalorian wants more than anything to become part of the durasteel wall. Cody turns back around, facing me with a grin “Oh…I see, Rex got you all worked up again?” My eyes grow wide “Again?” He lets out a deep laugh “I swear to Maker you two are the only ones who don’t notice…Fox, Bly, Bacara, Neyo, and even sometimes Wolffe and myself take guesses at how many times a day you steal glances.” As if on que Fox joins the table. “Just in time for the show” Cody tells him while teasing me. “Ha Ha, you’re hilarious….” I roll my eyes. “Y/n, you still haven’t talked to him?” Fox asks pretending to be shocked. A string of curses in Mando’a leave my mouth. “You guys are as bad as Fives….and that’s saying something.” They both just laugh at my expense. “You two di’kutla (fools) are lucky I don’t have your groups today for training…” and with that I get up and take care of my tray, having had enough of the shenanigans.
————
Later that evening I was in my office - the GAR was oh so kind enough to give me - and theres a knock at my door. With out looking up from my datapad I holler “Come in!” The door slides open and a rather sheepish Rex enters - he’s typically quite a confident, without being arrogant, man… - I stand “What can I do for you Captain?” “Please just call me Rex.” “I thought it was Captain or Sir?” I tease becoming rather nervous. He rubs the back of his neck and laughs nervously “I- uh- I came to see if you would be interested in going with us—with me to 79’s sometime.” - is this really happening? Fives you mesh’la di’kut (beautiful idiot) - “Yeah Rex, I’d love that” I can feel my face flush. He straightens, standing tall and confident “Really? How about tomorrow night?” A smile dances across my face “That sounds great, I’ll see you then”. He nods and excuses himself closing the door behind him.
I spin around smiling like di'kut (idiot), clutching my datapad to my chest - maybe Fives was right? Oh Maker don't ever let him know that...the last thing he needs is a more inflated ego.... I head back to my desk and finish up my report for the day before heading to my apartment for the night.
————
Thankfully I only had one training session the next morning which went without a hitch and I actually had time to catch up on my reports. The day over all went by rather quickly and I headed to my apartment to put on something other than my typical attire - as much I love my beskar and everything it stands for but unfortunately it's not gunna work. I open my closet and stand there for a moment before pulling out a pair of black jeans, combat boots, my bantha leather jacket, and nicer fitted tank top. Quickly I shower, put on light makeup, and quickly curl my hair a little before heading out to the street and hailing a cab. "79's please." "You got it." I look out the window as the driver lifts us into the lanes of traffic.
It only takes a matter of minutes to get to 79's and I find myself standing outside nervous - what if he decides he doesn't like me? An arm around my shoulder pulls my from my thoughts "Jeez y/n, If I knew you'd get cleaned up that nice I would’ve just asked you out myself." I throw at elbow at Fives an hit him square in the stomach. He doubles over and I hear a roar of laugher behind me. Spinning around I see the rest of the 501st Torrent squad - minus Rex. "I should’ve known you all would show up..." Jesse comes over and leans an elbow on Fives - whose still doubled over - "Oh come on we wouldn't miss this for the world! Besides we've got tomorrow off!" Hardcase whoops and hollers. Echo comes over and speaks so only I can hear "you'll be fine...Rex'll love getting to know you. Trust me." He winks and gestures for the group to follow him inside leaving me standing here alone. I suck in a deep breath and head inside. It's not my first time at 79's but its my first time with the intent to be with Rex and only Rex.
When I enter, the music is loud and there's a sea of people as usual. Making my way over to the bar I order a drink. Once the bar tender hands it to me I glance around looking for Rex. In the corner - where they always are - the rest of Torrent squad is looking at me and Fives points over towards the other side where Rex is chatting with the other Commanders. Finding my confidence I head over to say hello. "Su cuy'gar (Hello)" I smile and wave at the group. Rex's eyes wander over my form and Cody is the first to speak up "Who knew you wore anything other than armor" everyone but Rex and Wolffe laugh. "Very funny.” Rex gets up and says his goodbyes to the group "Should we grab a table?" I nod and he offers me his elbow. "Such a gentlemen" A smile tugs at the corner of his lips.
We sit down at a table and chat over some appetizers and drinks. I tell him a little about myself like my childhood on Mandalore, etc…etc…He tells some stories about the things that they accomplish during the war and even some typical shenanigans they’ve pulled while deployed. “Maker they sound like they are just as entertaining out in the field as they are in training!” “You have no idea…but they’re good soldiers…some of the best” I can hear the pride in his voice which brings a smile to my face. Leaning over the table I whisper “Don’t tell the other Commanders but the 501st has always been my favorite.” He quirks a brow “Oh really? Why’s that?” “Let’s just say I have a soft spot for the boys in blue” I say coyly before taking a sip of my drink without breaking eye contact. Rex smirks with his one eye brow still raised. “Careful Captain, you raise that eye brow any higher it might disappear.” He chuckles and shakes his head, “you know, other than the Jedi and a select few people…you’re one of the only ones who treats all of us clones like we matter.” I know this was supposed to be a compliment but I can’t help but feel sad, I sigh “Ni ceta Rex (I’m sorry Rex). It’s not fair…none of you chose the life given to you and yet you all do it with no complaints…I wish more saw you the way I do.” I start picking at my fingernails but a hand comes across the table, covering mine, stopping me. Looking up I met his gaze, those beautiful honey brown eyes have such a warmth to them - He’s never looked at me or anyone that I’ve seen this way before. “I’m just glad we have someone like you looking out for us all” he pauses for a second before continuing “The way you treat my vode (brothers)…my men…it means more to me than you’ll ever know.” The way he says my name and everything that follows does something to me I can’t even fully put into words however, I can feel the heat rising in my face and in my core. “Vor entye (thank you) Rex” I can’t help the smile that plasters my face. “ Ba’gedet’ye (you’re welcome) y/n.”
Glancing around I notice there are quite a few people dancing, even Fives who gives me a wink. I can’t help but shake my head and roll my eyes at him which catches Rex’s attention, he chuckles. Springing up from the table I grab Rex’s hand and drag him out onto the dance floor. The initial shock plastered on his face, “I-uh-I’m not much of a dancer.” I laugh and shrug, recalling a few nights when even Cody would dance…after a few drinks, “I know, just follow my lead.” He nods and at first watches me dance around him for a moment and the joins in. Before I know it his hands are on my hips as we grind our way through Maker knows how many songs.
When the night is about over Rex offers to walk me home. The entire way we laugh and talk about anything and everything - I feel so comfortable around him…it feels like we’ve known each other forever. I stop in front of my apartment building “this is me.” He looks up at the large building “It’s not quite like the GAR barracks.” “No it certainly isn’t. Did you want to come in? If I’m over stepping I completely understand…” I quickly explain. He looks over at me with a smile on his face “only if you want me to.” I nod and he follows me up to my apartment.
The door slides open and I enter, taking off my coat to hang it. Rex enters behind me. “Make yourself at home. Can I get you anything?” I offer. “I’m alright, thank you.” He doesn’t move from where he standing and I honestly find it adorable. “I had fun tonight” I break the silence after a few moments. He rubs the back of his neck like he’s nervous. “Everything okay Captain?” He’s quick to respond “Yeah no everything’s great I had fun tonight too.” I make my way back over to him “but?” I ask feeling uneasy. “Honestly, I’ve felt this way before” After all the war and training he’s even through as a man, in this moment he looks like a boy with his first crush. I put both hands on his plastoid covered chest and look into his beautiful golden brown eyes “I haven’t either but I’m willing to give it a shot if you are?” His hands find their way to my face gently cupping my cheeks. Leaning in he places the softest and most gentle kiss on my lips. When we break he rests his forehead against mine “How’s that for an answer?”

Condemned to Jealousy
Fandom: Star Wars, but where Fives was listened to, Palpatine is gone and the Republic is winning the war once and for all.
Pairing: Fives x Reader, unrequited Crosshair x Reader
Content: Angst and a little bit of fluff.
Warnings: Mentions of blood.
Word Count: 1642
A/N: Mando'a translations are 'mesh'la' = beautiful, and 'ner kar'ta' = my love. I wrote this in an evening so it's rather messy, but I've had this idea on my mind for a couple of days and actually wrote it for once.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When he hears that the 501st are on shore leave too, Crosshair bristles. All he wants is some quality time away from the front lines with you, and now he knows that his chance is squandered. Whilst you had been working with Clone Force 99 since Echo joined, as his personal medic (keeping his biomechanics running smooth, as well as helping with the trauma of Skako Minor), you were previously assigned with the 501st. That meant that you were going to meet up with Troopers that you had once served with and Crosshair would be deprived of your presence. He tried to push down his annoyance at the fact, but the sniper barely lasted an hour pretending to be fine. The grumpiness of his amplified over the days before their shore leave, culminating to the present moment: sitting with his brothers in a booth at 79s, brooding over a glass of whiskey and staring daggers into the table surface.
The music around the bar pulsed with energy, the floor filled with various clones who were moving with the steady beat – either with each other or with a nat-born who’d taken interest. Some clones still wore their plastoid, some wore their blacks, or a mix of the two. Some clones even wore civ clothes, although it was somewhat rare. Most of the colour adorned by the clones here tonight was, of course, blue. Too much blue, Crosshair thought to himself as his eyes shifted over the crowd, looking for you.
It took him a while to find you, for you and those you were currently with were hidden by the throng. By then he saw you; the first glimpse he saw was of you with a wide grin spread across your features, eyes crinkled slightly, laughing at something one of the clones around you said. There are three of them with you, Crosshair identifies. Two of them are bald and tattooed, the other with slicked back hair, a vaguely anchor shaped beard, and a tattoo upon his temple. Crosshair narrowed his eyes to get a better look at the tattoos. Bald Trooper No.1 has blue lines wrapping around his scalp and onto his face; he is dancing near you, shimmying quickly and with no rhythm. The sniper actually recognised Bald Trooper No.2: Jesse. He was on Anaxes and they had a mutual dislike of each other, making Crosshair wrinkle his nose as he observes the close proximity of the clone to you… Even if Jesse is laughing at Bald Trooper No.1 and now seeking to playfully tackle him. However, Crosshair’s distaste at Jesse’s presence quickly diminishes as Bearded Trooper wraps his arm around your shoulders, turning his head to reveal his tattoo in greater detail to Crosshair – an aurbesh five. He knew this clone too, but had met him only briefly after the rescue of Echo, for he was his batch-mate, Fives…
The ARC Trooper with aurbesh tattoo looks down at you, a toothy smirk spreading across his features. His honey hued irises sparkle in the throbbing lights and you realise as your eyes lock that you have missed this man so much.
Before being assigned to the Bad Batch, before the rescue of Echo, you had served with the 501st. You got on with all of them, Rex, Jesse, Tup, Hardcase, Kix, and even Dogma, who was a little hard to like at times. But Fives… On your first day with the legion, and after being introduced to Rex’s squad as their non-combat doctor, Fives had come up to you with that smirk of his and hit you with the cheesiest pick-up line you’d ever heard. Yet, you still blushed. Not because of the line, but because of the one who’d delivered it. From then on, you’d harboured a small crush on the ARC Trooper, who flirted with you any chance he got. He visited your medbay upon the Resolute often – most clones tended to stay away, save for their regular health check-ups, but Fives seemed to like the place more than Kix. It was through these visits that you began to get an inkling that you were not the only with a slight infatuation. It lead to the moment, in the middle of Fives’ routine health check after some time in the front line, where you both ended up acting on those feelings towards each other. From then on, the pair of you had been together, in secret, not because of some rule against clones and nat-borns being together, but due to violating the rules of the workplace. Yet, now that you served with the Bad Batch, not with Fives and the 501st, it was becoming more and more tempting to be not so secret about your relationship.
That is why, as you look into Fives’ eyes, his arm about your shoulders, you decide to raise a hand to loop around to the back of his head, your fingers slipping between his brunet locks. He raises a brow slightly, although as his eyes become hooded it is clear that he is having similar thoughts to yours.
“Mesh’la,” he mutters in his deep baritone, “I don’t want to keep this secret anymore.”
“Fives… Neither do I.”
In that moment, Fives pulls you in for a kiss, his lips encompassing yours softly. In that moment too, you hear the smashing of glass. You break away from Fives, who groans with frustration, yet too looks towards the source of the noise. You both expect it to be nothing much, maybe overly drunk patrons. It’s not nothing, as the table where your current squad sits is now in disarray and a certain member of Clone Force 99 is staring deadly daggers at Fives. The said clone makes an awkward sound in confusion, eyes flicking towards you with a hint of panic within them as he whispers in your ear, “Ner kar’ta, why is he glaring at me?”
You shake your head slightly, partially in disbelief, but also to indicate to Fives that you don’t know. “He’s usually grumpy, but I’ve never seen him like… this. Let me deal with this.”
As you talk with Fives, Crosshair is swiftly stomping over. Before Fives gets a chance to respond to you, a fist lands directly in the side of his nose, causing him to stumble and nearly pull you over with him. You untangle yourself from Fives, seeing red in the corners of your eyes as you turn to face the assailant, Crosshair. He looks enraged. However, your expression gives him a run for his credits.
“Crosshair! What the kriff was that?!” The entirety of the bar has their eyes on you as you shout, many of the 501st in the bar moving to gather around. Jesse and Hardcase, who were with you in the moments before the incident, have stepped in to check on Fives, who is holding his nose that gushes with his own crimson blood. Rex, who was sitting with the Commanders, has stood up and approached slowly, ready to step in to be the mediator, and alongside him is Cody too, the pair ready to work the dynamic duo as always. Kix is currently pushing his way through the crowd towards you as well, seeming to go full combat medic mode at the commotion. The Bad Batch have reacted too, all slightly differently. Wrecker has leapt from his seat, ready to fight. Echo has quickly moved to grab the oversized clone, and Hunter too has stopped his brother from starting a whirlwind of chaos, although seems to be more relaxed about potentially letting Wrecker off the leash if there is good reason to. Tech still sits in the back of the booth, awkwardly looking over his datapad at the situation. All of them wait, however, to see how Crosshair responds.
The silver haired sniper hisses an exhale, before snarling his words, “The reg kissed you!”
In your eyes, it is a pretty poor excuse. “So?!” You call out, your anger bubbling up with the increasing heat.
Crosshair narrows his eyes, taken aback by the question, yet this time he has a better response, spoken quietly this time, his words now laced with venom, “It looks like you’re being taken advantage of…”
If you hadn’t been drinking then maybe you would have said something better, but what comes out of you is spat that the sniper with frustration at his apparent blunder.
“I’m dating Fives, I ain’t being kriffing taken advantage of!”
Crosshair’s expression falls for a moment, a look of abject horror upon his features. Yet it disappears as quickly as it appears. He seems done, done with everything now. Turning around, to head towards the exit of the bar, he growls, “Kriff you…” He leaves then, storming out. Hunter drags Wrecker along with him after their brother, whilst Echo lets go to rush across to you and Fives, whose nose is now clogged up with napkins from the bar to stop the bleeding.
It is as Echo comes towards you and Crosshair steps out the door of the bar that the realisation of what truly happened hits you. All those around you disappear as your entire focus turns to Fives. You rush over towards him, the shouts of the clones about you trying to disperse the crowd falling on deaf ears as you throw yourself against Fives, wrapping your arms around him.
“I’m sorry, Fives-“
“Ssssh, ner kar’ta, not your fault. He was just jealous.” Fives wraps his arms about you, engulfing you in his warmth and comfort, placing a gentle kiss atop the crown of your head.
Meanwhile, Crosshair storms away from 79s and into the night of Coruscant, he realises that he will always be jealous in regard to you. Jealous because you are the one thing he cannot have, for Fives has already claimed you.

𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧
Fives x F!Reader x Echo Pt. 1 After the events of the Citadel, Fives is forced to embark on a journey - inform people of Echo's passing. Fives knew his brother like the inside of his pocket, but who knew Echo had been hiding a gem all this time? Certainly not Fives. Word Count: 2886 Warnings: Echo's death, swearing, sad Fives, alcohol consumption A/N: I'm missing fives because he didn't get enough screen time and it's called 'The Clone Wars' for a reason :c
Tumblr media
"I'm sorry," His voice carried a certain lightness to it, spinning in your ear canal like a pearly white feather on a windy, gloomy day. Though his words, oh his words, they pierced through your heart like a rusty dagger, the bitter metal permeating through the organ like a chartreuse, acidic poison. "There was nothing we could do to save him."
You were always afraid that one day, after a long, dreadful mission, he just wouldn't be back.
No matter how many times your best friend reassured you, that fear just lingered somewhere deep within your subconscious, sharpening its' shiny black talons, awaiting the day it could re-emerge into your heart.
Fives swallowed harshly, counting down the number of awfully loud heartbeats echoing in his head. He could feel a tension headache rising as he eyed you wearily, ready to offer comfort if you were to start crying, or having a go at him.
Your lack of response worried him. It was like you knew as soon as the door opened, his fist stuck in mid-air as the gears turned in his head. By the time he had gone over the pleasantries and the uncomfortable silence, your eyes had seemingly lost their spark, your face paled in the early sunshine of the Coruscantian morning, and your voice lost that high-pitched note to it when you spoke.
And now, here he was, his neck feeling awfully warm, his gut twisting as he thought of every whichever way to escape this hellhole. He hadn't even had the time to mourn his brothers death, yet alone truly understand it and now he had to go making rounds to people, informing them of it?
The Republic was cruel, and shitty, and full of shit and-
"H-How did he..?" His gaze was laser focused on his hands, the tension in his shoulders worsening as he looked up from his lap. You had unshed tears trudging the edges of your waterline, your eyelashes already wet from having to blink away thick, hopeless tears.
The green of the wallpaper that peered round the corner seemed much more inviting to look at than your eyes were, Fives thought. The colour was that of pine trees, lighter swirls of white decorating the expanse of the wall behind you. It used to be Echo's favourite colour. His brother always said how it brought joy for him to see that dreaded colour, how it always made him feel hopeful in an otherwise unsure battle. Fives, even though having made fun of Echo for being such a sap, had also secretly shared the same opinion.
But now all he felt when he saw the colour was disgust, nausea, and worst of all, guilt.
"Fives..?" Your voice gently lulled him out of his thoughts, like a lighthouse at sea, calling out to his ship, and his eyes widened as he realised you had reached your hand over to his, your thumb rubbing at his armoured forearm. Kriff, he didn't even take his bloody armour off.
His lips opened and closed, his eyelashes fluttering as Fives tried to map his way around, trying to find the right words to say.
Eventually, he settled on a fairly common pair.
"I-I'm sorry," He winced at the shakiness of his voice, scrunching his eyes shut. How the hell was he supposed to say it? For some odd reason, you were the one comforting him, rather than the other way around. What kind of soldier was he? What kind of man was he?
"He.. He died heroically," His voice was soft, trembling. Fives couldn't bring himself to speak any louder, afraid that the deeply buried emotions in his chest would come crashing down, like waves against a rocky shore, "He was the bravest man on that battlefield, ready and willing to do anything to complete the mission. He was so.. He was so inspiring. What happened next.. I- I couldn't get to him.. in time." He took in a shallow, shaky breath, forcing his eyes shut as tears began to prickle at his eyes.
"I couldn't save him."
"Fives it's-"
"The droid blasted the ship just as he reached the entrance and I wanted to help him, to get him out of there, but someone screamed my name and all I remember is seeing his body fly, and his helmet drop at my feet. I wish it were me instead of-"
"He would never forgive himself for that and you know it." Your voice tore through his tangent, sharp, snappy and cold as ice. It was as if you had thrown cold water in his face. You knew Echo, you knew he would never let his brother sacrifice himself for him, "He was a good soldier and he died as one." You whispered, peering down at the man seated in your small, pale yellow kitchen.
The wrinkles on his forehead and the tired bags under his eyes told you everything. He desperately needed a safe place, and some well deserved rest.
Has he even had the time to process Echo's death? You truly doubted it just by seeing his reluctance, the difficulty he felt of talking about this. As though it was the first time.
You couldn't let Fives go back to the GAR. Not in this condition, not yet. You were afraid he would simply shut down if he were surrounded by countless faces and voices, similar and the same as Echo's. He would have constant nightmares, constant night terrors, constant guilt.
But what about you? What about your time alone, your time to process the news of your best friends death?
That wasn't your priority right now, you could wallow in the bubbling feelings of grief and despair after you've taken care of his brother, his twin.
Taking in a deep breath, you kneeled beside Fives, placing a reassuring hand on his thigh.
"Stay here for the night. You can be gone by morning and we never have to talk of this again." You offered, squeezing his thigh to get his attention. You could tell by the way his eyes widened that he wasn't expecting such an offer, and by the quick downturn of his lips, that he was about to reject it.
"It's not for my comfort, it's for your own," You interjected, determination seeping from each word you said, "I- I don't think you'll be able to sleep there-" You paused, getting up from the floor with a huff, "Here's the plan; I'll draw you a bath, make you some food and then you can go sleep in my room, how's that?" You asked, leaning against the countertop behind you.
A few moments of silence passed, Fives completely stunned and speechless. Where was Echo hiding this.. t-this gem? He had never met such a compassionate woman, person, ever.
All he was familiar with were the one night stands with numerous different women he'd met at 79s. Did Echo meet you there too? Were you really just friends?
Shaking his head, Fives stood up from his seat, looking, no, glaring at that stupidly green wallpaper behind you. At that grisly irritating reminder of hope. Of Echo. "I-I couldn't take such a-advantage of your kindness, ma'am. I appreciate it, but I'll be fine." He stated.
A frown replaced the hopefulness on your face as you noticed the awful change in his demeanour. You weren't talking to Fives, the man, anymore. No, you were talking to Fives the ARC Trooper, CT-5555. You could tell by the way his eyebrows furrowed, how his gaze hardened, how his chest puffed up and his shoulders stood to attention.
He's just like Echo.
Neither men preferred to face the difficulty of opening up to others, you noted. But whilst Echo would stutter and refuse, Fives completely shut down, solidified into a steel-strong soldier. But neither of them seemed to like accepting help, whether it be from a friend or a stranger.
Funny.
They truly were like twins, born of the same strand of DNA, or whatever the Kaminoans did, you thought.
With a heavy, disapproving sigh, you gave a slight nod of your head.
It seemed to surprise Fives, as you noticed that momentarily, miniscule raise of his thick brows. He definitely wanted you to be more pushy, but you had learned from Echo that that often led to nowhere.
"Do you have anywhere else to go? Anyone else to inform?" Your voice was soft when it reached his ears, and a defeated expression rested on your face. Since you wouldn't need to take care of Fives, your mind felt at ease enough to let in the new, yet still familiar feelings.
It took him a moment to respond, his throat having gone completely dry.
"Just a couple of friends, really. You were number one on that list so.. I- I guess I'll leave you to it." He half muttered, looking up at you. The kitchens' yellowy dandelion wallpaper behind your frame did very little to brighten up your features. Instead, it seemed to dull them, deep shadows were casted over your features as you frowned.
"Are you sure? You can stay longer if you'd like-"
"No! No, it's okay. Really. I'm on a tight schedule anyway, y'know, ARC Trooper things and all that." Fives insisted as he finally rose from his seat, rubbing his nape with one hand awkwardly.
This was his chance to get out of there, to escape the stuffy, small kitchen. It was like a rainy cloud had settled itself over your shoulders, and he wanted to be gone by the time it began to pour.
"Alright. I won't keep you here any longer. I-I'm sure you've wasted enough time here already." You muttered out as you followed suit, rising from your seat, albeit slower than Fives.
Did you want to be alone? You weren't too sure. Some of your focus was still locked onto the man before you, worry gnawing away at your conscious. "If you need anything, you know where to find me." You followed up, rounding the rectangular, wooden table seated in the middle of your small kitchen.
Echo used to always nag at you, complaining it was too short for tall people like him. Interestingly enough, Fives had no intention of mentioning the height of the table.
Although Echo had told you many stories about Fives and the Domino Squad, it felt like the two had switched personalities. Your Echo seemed to behave more like Fives when around you, and Fives behaved more like Echo from the stories.
Your arms were crossed over your chest as you led Fives to the door, and you caught a peek of his expression as you quickly peered over your shoulder.
He seemed to tower over you as you bid your goodbyes, thanking him for coming all this way, and wishing for him to stay safe and get well. Your chest felt heavier as you unlocked the door, moving aside, observing him as he stepped out.
The dull greyness of the corridor outside did nothing but crumble any resolve that may have lingered within his chest.
A lone, glaringly white light bulb flickered from time to time, doing very little to actually brighten up the space. It also seemed to wash out Fives' features, make his sun-kissed skin look paler, his eyes more somber, his frown look deadlier.
If anyone were to come by him, they'd tremble on the spot.
The corners of his lips seemed to twitch, just slightly, as he thought over what to say. What do you say to someone you're not sure you'll see again?
Your vocie beat him to is as you bid a short, yet comforting goodbye.
That was it then.
He waved you goodbye as he descended down the stairs, his gaze locking with yours one last time before he disappeared behind the concrete railing.
The distant sound of a hum accompanied your thoughts, the electrical cables working hard to provide light to that narrow corridor, becoming background noise to your running thoughts.
Would he be okay?
Maybe you should have given him your comm number, in case he'd wanna reach out. It was too late though, as his figure had already disappeared down the long staircase, the warmth of his gloved hands still lingering on yours.
The loud boom of the music bounced of the walls of 79s, and Fives' head. It was like a headache that just kept on going, and Fives was refusing to take pain meds, nullifiers. He didn't want the pain to stop. It was the only thing that kept him awake, aware, attentive to the fact that this was reality.
Many of his brothers had died; Domino Squad to be specific. Their deaths were all too sudden, just like Echo's. But he got past them, keeping his brothers memory alive on each and every mission he was sent to. But through all that, he had Echo by his side. And now, Echo was gone.
How was he meant to get over his death?
How was he meant to carry on?
How many of his brothers had gone through the same situation, lost their closest friends? Were forced to continue on into battle as though nothing had happened? Were they really, truly that expendable? Did they not mean anything to the Republic? To the Jedi?
Fives wasn't just a number. Echo wasn't just a number. Hevy, Cutup and Droidbait weren't just numbers. They were men, they were men with feelings and they were men who were filled with hopes and dreams for their futures.
Echo wasn't just a number.
He suppressed a sob as he leaned forward, reaching for another shot glass, the pinkish liquid sparkled in the dim lights of 79s.
Usually, he took his shots with pride.
And now? Now he took them with shame, slamming the clear glass onto the table as he roughly wiped at his eyes. God. It burned so bad. But it also eased the pain, bit by bit until all he felt was fire burning through his lungs, and dizziness tugging at his vision.
He couldn't go back to the GAR in this state. But who cared? He and the 501st had come back, completely and utterly wasted, many times too many. And nobody even batted an eyelash. On Kamino they'd get a thorough discplining, maybe even a smack on the back of the head.
He was sure the old geezers back there would be more than happy to hand his ass back to him.
Kriff it, he thought.
One more shot.
The liquid burned, the taste smacking at his tastebuds like a blaster to the back of his head.
Another.
It went on for long enough for the barman to stop him, shaking his head disapprovingly at the trooper.
Getting up from his seat, Fives wished the liquid tasted as good as it looked. He thanked the barman and made his way to the exit.
Where was he going?
He wasn't sure. He just knew he needed to move. Or rather stumble.
Waking up to loud banging on your front door certainly wasn't your preferred method, but it was definitely an effective one.
"Kriffing hell, what time is it?" You mumbled, rubbing the sleep crust from your tired eyes. The old, digital clock on your bedside table read 0300, in big, bold neon green numbers, casting a gentle green glow on the otherwise pitch-black room.
Your heart pounded wildly, almost as harshly as whatever idiot was pounding on your door at bloody 3AM in the morning.
You already had a hard day, falling into your bedsheets just moments after Fives had left, thick, shiny tears quickly staining the soft material of your duvet a shade darker for the foreseeable future.
"Who do you think you are-" Your voice harshly cut through as you ripped your front door open, leaning forwards, just narrowly missing a black, gloved fist to your face. Your frown quickly dropped as you noticed the idiot behind the awful disruption, and your anger seemed to evaporate into thin air. "Fives?"
As he looked up, the sight of his honey-gold eyes and tear streaked face, had your heart dropping in an instant.
The sound of humming electricity above your head filled the silent hallway, mimicking the white noise inside of Fives's head as his drunken mind tried to scramble up some words.
The smell of strong vodka and whatever else invaded your senses, you couldn't help how fast your hand flew to cover your nose.
"Y/n..- I-I'm sorry-" He hiccupped, pressing one arm onto your doorframe, his figure towering over you. "I couldn't- I couldn't save him, he's dead. He's dead because of me!" Fives gasped out, his eyes squeezing shut as more tears pooled at his waterline.
"What? No no no!" You exclaimed, quickly opening your arms for him to fall into. "Shh, come on, it's okay." You whispered, easing him into your apartment with slow steps. You shut the door behind, seating him down on your sofa before you went back to lock your front door.
His sobs and hiccupped breaths filled the still silence of your small, colourful apartment. Rubbing at your sore eyes, you quickly fetched a glass of water for him before kneeling at his side.
"Here, drink this," You lifted the glass to his lips, letting him take slow sips, "Slowly, you'll feel sick."
You watched him carefully, taking the water away as he gasped out. Your sofa looked too small for the trooper, his frame easily taking up over almost half of the space. A grunt escaped his lips, and panic flooded you.
This way going to be a long night..

Pairing(s): Fives x gn! reader
Tags/warnings: pure fluff, implied that reader is not wearing pants
Tumblr media
The 501st had been away from Coruscant for what felt like forever. They were expected to return the next night according to your boyfriend, so you had that to look forward to. In the mean time, you liked to wear his clothes around the house because it felt like you had a piece of him with you.
Currently, you wore one of his sleeping t-shirts as you sat in bed, scrolling through your holo-pad. You hadn't heard Fives enter the apartment, but he now stood in the doorway of your bedroom, his arms crossed as he leaned against the doorframe watching you. After a few more seconds of taking in your beauty, he cleared his throat and grabbed your attention. "Is that my shirt?"
You looked up at him, blood rushing to your cheeks. "Fives, you weren't due back until tomorrow." The holo-pad you held plopped onto the comfort as you stood up and went over to him. "Welcome home honey."
Fives kissed your forehead and then smiled at you. "You wanna help me take my gear off? Maybe after that we can talk about my shirt?"
You playfully rolled your eyes and grabbed one of his hands. You then led him over to the small couch in the room and sat him down. He began to remove the armor from his arms while you kneeled on the floor and began to get his legs.
When you got done removing the last of his things, you stood, only for Fives to wrap his arms around your waist and pull you into his chest. "So," he smirked, his fist clenching into the fabric of the clothing you wore. "What's it gonna take for me to get this back?"
"Hmm." You bit your lip and decided to tease him. "I dunno, I don't think that I want to give this shirt up. It's pretty comfortable."
"Is that a challenge?" He lowered one of his hands to the back of your thigh and began to slide it under the clothing. "Cause if it is—"
You pushed a finger against his lips to shush him and moved your face towards him. "I'll give your shirt back, but you have to promise to kiss me." Fives chuckled and pulled you down so that you were straddling his laps. "Okay." He closed his eyes and began to lean in for a kiss, but you moved your head from his path. His grip on you loosened, allowing you to escape.
"I didn't say that I was going to make it easy for you." You began to back away towards the door. "You'll have to catch me first."
Fives smirked once more and stood to his feet. "Oh, I'm getting that shirt back."
You dashed out of the room attempting to hold back your laughter. Fives on the other hand simply walked out of the room and took his time coming after you. When you were sure that he could no longer see you, you hid in the hallway closet. To quiet your breaths, you put your hand over your mouth and silently waited for him to pass by.
Once you were sure he was gone, you cautiously opened the door and snuck out. Unfortunately, you hadn't noticed that that he hid around the corner and were taken by surprise when he nearly tackled you to the ground.
"Gotcha!" Fives began tickling you. Your upper body jolted every which way and you tried to push his hands away to stop, but it was no use. You both erupted in a fit of giggles as he picked you up and carried you back to the bedroom. After setting you on the bed, he removed his blacks and laid down, patting the spot next to him. You moved the holo-pad from earlier and scooted next to him, awaiting his kiss.
Just as expected, he careful took your chin between his thumb and index and pulled you in for a passionate kiss. When he pulled away, he propped up on his elbow and rested his head against his hand, taking in your beauty. "Keep it, you wear my shirt better." A blush rushed to your cheeks, causing you to hide your face in his chest. "Well, sharing is caring.”
He snickered in response and pecked your lips. "I love you." He put his arms around you.
A soft yawn slipped from your lips but was muffled into his skin. "I love you more."
"I highly doubt that, cyare."
