I love the possible easter egg from Buffalmacco of Dante and Virgilio in Camposanto, the Giudizio Universale section.
The affresco was made between 1336 and 1341, Dante only died in 1321.
Bonus note: the preparatory drawings, la sinopia, did not included Dante and Virigilioâs figures, they were added in the painting process. My professor said that Buffalmaccoâs decision probably went against the will of those who commissioned the affresco.
