Tumblr media
The hot summer sun blew through the open window of Chrissy’s green bug. It wasn’t the kind of green on the Hawkins uniform, it was a brighter green, a leafier green.
Chrissy’s indie mixtape blared through the car as it squealed along the empty streets. Jason’s car was chasing hers, but neither of you cared. You slid open the rooftop hatch, throwing your arms in the air, chucking an empty soda behind you.
The car made a dent in Jason’s car. Chrissy shrieked loudly with laughter, “holy shit!” one arm on the wheel and the other in the air, her laugh infecting yours as you slapped your hand on the leather dash, “go, go, go!” imagining Jason’s face just made you laugh even more.
Chrissy was still speeding as Jason gave up, turning around. You could hear him yelling out the window, “you fucking bitches!” but neither of you cared. Maybe it was the heat that was making you delirious, but you were both crying with laughter by the time Chrissy pulled over on the road near Lover’s Lake.
You fell back against the leather seats of Chrissy’s bug, laughter evaporating into shriek-like breaths before finally calming down. It was the same time Chrissy calmed.
It was silent for a while, with nothing but her indie mixtape playing softly in the background. And then Chrissy spoke airily, eyes shining. “I love you,” the words were a soft whisper. You smiled into her shiny green eyes, “I love you too.”
And you were sure that this time it was definitely the sun, the sun that made you pull her impeccably close, the sun that melted your lips into hers with a kiss. And it was still the sun, still the sun as you lifted up her shirt and she tore your dress over your head and your bodies tangled in the hot summer afternoon.
Chrissy’s sounds were angelic. Fucking angelic. Angelic, you knew, as you placed soft kisses down her neck, sighing deeply into her skin, “how’d you get to be so pretty, Chris?” and Chrissy shrugged, giggling softly. “I dunno. Guess I tot the looks from my daddy.”
And you snorted at her words, “oh yeah. It was definitely your dad. Your mum’s an ugly-ass bitch. Don’t believe a word she says, okay, Chris? Don’t you ever fucking believe it.”

The Player and The Cheerleader
Tumblr media
Billy Hargrove x Cheerleader Reader
Summary: All Billy thinks cheerleading is that's it's just flips and splits. The view changes when he has a run in with a certain Hawkins High School cheerleader.
...........................................................................
Billy didn't care for anyone by any means. Either it be in Indiana or California. If he doesn't see you as someone worth his time then he didn't talk to you or give you the time of day. One of those groups in specific were cheerleaders. From his point of view they were only pretty girls to look at, that's pretty much how everyone treated the cheerleader at this point. Pretty things to look at.
The cheerleaders sometimes had to share the gym with the basketball team. Which did peeve some the guys on the team but as long as the cheerleaders were pretty they could handle it. But there was one odd ball on the cheer team, the captain. Always mouthing off the players when they got to close to the cheerleaders or a ball got to close to hitting one of them.
"Hey! Shit for brains!" A voice can be heard from then other side of the gym. "I thought the point of the game was to get the ball in the basket?!"
"Jeezu..." Tommy huffed. "Can you seriously be pissed about the same thing every time? It's just a ball." He answered to you. Clearly tired of your constant shouting at the basketball team when a ball would go the wrong way.
"And it's just balls between your legs, and they can just as easily deflate." You sassed back. To Billy, it was almost comical to watch. You with the tough guy act, puffing up your chest to a dude way taller than you with colorful pompoms in each hand on your hips.
"What a bitch..." Tommy huffed again.
"Oh get over it." Billy snapped. "What's captain pompoms gonna do?" He laughed at his own statement. Like said before he found the whole conversation comical-
WHAM!
A basketball went flying right into Billy Hargroves head. He snapped his head around to see the who had the nerve to hit him. His eyes met with captain pompoms. The two had a stare off. That's what it felt like for the rest of practice. The two practically eyeing each other the entire time.
After that stunt was over, after constant staring at one another, Billy had only one reaction in mind. A big one.
The next day followed. Billy knew where he could cut you off and corner you, in-between Mr. Johnson's chemistry class and Mrs. Shoffer's English literature class. It happened fast no one could react to it, actually you doubt anyone saw it happen. What you thought was just another normal day of school turned out to be more than that. A harsh hold took your arm, taking you away from the crowd into the more secluded part of the hall. Where you came face to face with a fuming Billy. His jaw was clenched and eyes held anger.
"What, you think you're real funny for the shit you pulled yesterday?" He interrogated. "Try it again see what fuckin happens..." His threats did not stop. Well his empty threats. As much as you are terrified of what he could do, you knew he'd never act on them. Your brave front was standing strong. Taking in every threat, comment, and remark he could throw at you. To get a reaction, if you were a guy you would have answered with your fists at his first remark. But you are not. You are you. You knew the exact thing that would make him even more angry.
" You are nothing but scuff on the gym floor, and that's all you will be."
Billy did not like that one bit. Who does this bitch think she is? His fist rose into the air, readying to strike. The force came down, you felt the air brush past your face, to only make contact with a metal locker. The sound ricocheted through the hall.
You open up your eyes. Now, again, staring at him. Anger was not held in his eyes anymore. If was fear and sadness, to you it was peculiar expression to see on his face. The actions that just happened finally caught up to you, you inhale deeply not knowing you stopped breathing. Everything caught up to you.
SLAP! Your hand came down, striking Billy Hargrove in the face. Hard enough to leave a mark. Not knowing that one had just been healed from another hand. "What the hell is your problem?" You yelled, agitated. "God, you fuckin creep." You make your way back to your class leaving Billy stunned. He didn't know what to do. He has never had someone react to him like that before. It intrigued him. He had an interest in you now.
After that encounter Billy made it his mission yo agitate you as much as possible. I mean, how else are you supposed to show someone you like them. From poking you with a pencil in class, purposefully missing the hoop so the ball bounces into your direction, anything at all just so you could look at him. He was succeeding and he was royally pissing you off. Until on fateful autumn day, everyone had gone home for the day. Except for the extracurriculars that took place after school. Two of those being basketball and cheer practice. Just as the practices were about to start, Billy took notice that you weren't with the cheer team. Which he thought was odd, but instead he chose to go smoke a cigarette before practice. He made his way to the small alley like way that was outside the gym that lead to the track field. And the sight before him made him stop in his tracks. there you stood cheer practice outfit and all with a lit cigarette hanging from your lip.
"I thought cheerleaders didn't smoke?" Billy joked to you, giving you his famous smirk.
"And I thought shit stayed in toilets, but I guess I was wrong since you're here." You said taking a huff of your cig.
"Damn, always ready with a comeback are you?" Billy said, lighting his cigarette.
"Why are you messing with me Hargrove?"
"Ouch, last name basis now sweets?"
"Shut up." You won't deny it, that dumb nickname that he started calling you grew on you. "Is this because of me smacking you?"
"No."
"Was it me hitting you with a basketball?"
"No." He said blankly again.
"Then what is it?"
Billy took a huff of his cigarette then looked you in your eyes. No hate or anger, something you can only describe as adoration.
"I find you interesting." Was his only answer.
"What?" you were confused by this answer. What was so interesting about you that made Billy intrigued. " Your like curious about me or something?"
"Exactly."
"You know curiosity killed the cat, Hargrove." You sassed.
"And satisfaction brought it back, and I am not satisfied yet so get used to me sweets." He said taking his cig a stomping it out onto the ground walking away.
You grumbled at his response, inhaling the last of your cigarette with blushing cheeks. Stomping out your cigarette then making your way into practice. 'Why does this asswipe make me blush'.
...........................................................................
Weeks of this teasing have gone by. Everyday Billy would find a new way to make you mad, blush, or embarrassed to get a reaction out of you. He claimed "It's because you so cute." Which made you blush even more. Gosh, you couldn't stand half of the guys at this school. Why was Billy the only one making you feel this way?
Truth be told, Billy had seen you around way before he had met you. How you walk down the hall with your head held high, looking away in disgust at the "popular" kids, over all not conforming to what a cheerleader is by Hawkins view point. You fought, yelled, got in people faces. Billy love all of it, it made him excited. Excited to talk to you and ask you questions, even ones you deem are stupid. All he wanted to do was to be around you. Damn, he loved it in a way.
Practice had ended for the day leading off into the weekend. A light rain pour had come down, everyone else had a ride to get them home. Everyone except you, well you did but he was running very late. Billy made his way outside to find you standing in the walk way waiting to be picked up. Cigarette hanging from your mouth.
"What are you doing here?" Billy asked.
"Waiting." You simply put.
"Do you want a ride?" He asked.
"No, I have a ride." You said. "But he's running late."
"What your boyfriend?" Billy said, the words had jealousy behind them.
"No." You sighed. "My brother you dipshit."
"oh..." He sighed. A silence fell between you two. Not uncomfortable, but nice enough for you two to be around each other. But Billy had something building in his stomach, a nervous feeling. He hated it. He needed to tell you something.
"Hey." He called to you, you turn your head to face him. "I wanted to say I'm sorry for what happened."
"What?" You were confused by what he just said.
"I said I'm sorry, did you not hear me?" Billy said, He turned his body to face you. "I said I'm sorry." You just stood there silent. Still taking in the fact he is saying sorry. "I'm sorry that I almost punched you into a locker. I realized I was acting like someone I didn't want to be, and you calling me on my shit. It made me look at you differently. I noticed more about you. How you always make sure the other cheerleaders are okay, how you genuinely care about the people you have around you, and you don't take any shit. And- shit I'm bad at this." He's now embarrassed by everything he just said. Heat rises to his cheeks and ears.
You step toward him, placing your hand on his arm. "I thought you were doing pretty well." You smiled, comforting him in a way. He just looked at you. You never smiled at him directly but now that your smile was intended for him. 'damn' He wants you to smile at him all the time.
"Do you want to go on a date?" He asked straight out. You were shocked by his forwardness, but not entirely surprised.
"You want to go on a date with me?"
"Hell yeah, why wouldn't I?" He made it seem like you were speaking a different language. "Listen one date is all I ask, her if you still think I'm a piece of shit I'll stop everything that I'm doing."
Your smile grew even wider. "I would love to go on a date with you Billy."
"Dang, back on first name basis already? Looks like I'm getting a second date already." He joked to you, in turn caused you to laugh.
For the remainder of your time you and Billy talked till you had been picked up. You both talked about anything and everything. It was pure bliss, you loved every second of it. You both were abruptly interrupted by the honking of your brothers car.mYou said your goodbyes to make your way to the car. The smile that held your face did not drop. I didn't drop on Billy's either, when getting home Max found it incredibly disturbing to see her step brother so giddy.
That following night Billy arrived to your house to take you on your promised date. Which one date turned into another and another and another. Till it reached throughout the whole school that Billy Hargrove and the cheer captain were finally official. With many guys questioning Billy as to why he picked you out of everyone, to which he said if they insulted you again he had no problem with dealing with them himself. Girls just snuffed their noses up to you since you now made Billy officially off the market. Not like you cared, he's your boyfriend now and you have him all to yourself. So you could say everything did work out in the end. You and Billy have each other.
"So I guess we have Tommy to thank since he is the reason we met?" You joked.
"Hell no, I would have went after you even if you didn't hit me with that basket ball." He smirk.
"Jeez, you are something Billy." You smiled, leaning into him to seal your lips in a kiss. Yeah, nothing could beat this.

Eddie, your boyfriend, and you discussing having a threesome at some point. And then he offers you a threesome with Chrissy. You get confused like does Eddie wanna sleep with Chrissy? I just thought they were friends? But then he explains babe, Chrissy wants to sleep with YOU. She, like, is always telling him how pretty you are
You were only eager to explore the idea of a threesome with Eddie until he had a name already locked and loaded for your third party. You thought you'd scout a bar together, or rope one of your friends' friends into a one-time test that would determine whether 'the more the merrier' applied to sex. But when Eddie responds to your initial proposal with a quick nod, and a, 'Chrissy?' you start rethinking your offer.
"Uh," You flounder, stomach starting to churn, "I guess- maybe? I thought you two were just friends."
"We are," He nods, still absent-minded until his brain catches up with him. Then he's dropping his pen onto the scribbled doodle he'd been sketching, looking up at you with wide eyes pooled with understanding.
"Wait, wait, wait, not like that." He reaches for your hands, and you hear him out with dread still pooling in your stomach.
"We are just friends," He assures you, pretty brown eyes dripping with sincerity behind his long lashes, "But she likes you. She talks about you all the time. At first she was just, like, asking me how you were doing when she saw me and stuff. But then she came to my van to pick something up," He clears his throat, politely leaving the name of whatever drugs she was buying out of your conversation, "-and out of the corner of my eye I saw her slip something into her pocket. I only realized later, when you couldn't find it, that it was your lip gloss that you keep in the cupholder. And when I saw her again she was wearing it, now it's the only thing she wears."
You mull the information over a bit, deep in thought. Then, in a quiet voice, "That doesn't mean she wants to have sex with me, Eddie."
"That's... not all of it." He admits, raising a hand to scratch at his hair, "I tried to be casual about it. I said the stuff she was wearing looked like yours. And she got all red, started talking about how pretty the color was. I was starting to get a little suspicious, but I really couldn't tell if she was after me or you, y'know?"
You nod, and he squeezes your hands tighter.
"Then the next time I sold stuff to her, she asked about you again. I teased her a bit, asked if she just wanted to come over and see you. She heated up again, started smoothing out her skirt and messing with her shirt, asking if I meant 'right now?'. That's when I figured it out."
"I kinda elbowed her, y'know?" Eddie mimics the gesture, rocking his body to one side, "And I said 'Holy shit, you've got a thing for my girlfriend!'.
--
"No!" Chrissy stammers, shaking her head so that her ponytail bounces, "No, Eddie, that's- I would never do that to you!"
I don't blame you," Eddie shrugs, a smug smirk on his face, "I've got a thing for her too."
"I think she's really pretty." Chrissy admits, eyes wide and glued to her feet, "But that's- she's your girlfriend! And I know it's not fair, I- I'm really sorry, Eddie."
"Really," He laughs, knocking his shoulder into hers, "It's fine. I know you won't try anything. Hell, you're so sweet you'd pr'y come crying to me feeling guilty before you'd even made a move. You are not a cheater, I know that."
--
"Thing is," Eddie picks away a smear of nail polish that's stuck in the crease of your finger, "Now that I know, she won't shut up about you. She just talks and talks and talks, all day long, about how pretty she thinks you are, how lucky I am, and I don't really disagree."
"That's.. crazy." You shake your head, not because you're upset, but because you're surprised. You've interacted with the girl before, and she's been almost unbearably sweet, but you hadn't thought anything of it. You'd heard only good things about her, so you just assumed her saccharine demeanor was the default. You have to say, thinking about the starry-eyed girl having a puppy crush on you is making your heart beat just a bit faster.
"Well, all I'm saying is, she's a willing candidate. We'd have to break our 'no kissing' rule, though," Eddie grins, "I think she wants to give back some of that lip gloss she snatched."

Please Don't Judas Me.
Pairing: Eddie Munson x (female) Reader
Summary: Chrissy wants what she can't have, Eddie. Your best friend and long-term boyfriend. Things are growing tense in the group as you are slowly being replaced by his new best friend. Only problem was? You were here first, and he is clueless.
Warnings: No warnings, this is kinda angsty/fluff content. Unless you count a couple of curse words as needing a warning? Idk, I haven’t written fanfics in like 8 years so I’m a little rusty…
Note/Request: Requested by @authorlovers. “perhaps eddie & reader are dating and absolutely smitten but chrissy starts flirting with him and eddies confused and doesn't know what to do? but caughts himself because reader has been with him through absolutely everything and chrissy only likes him because he started getting interesting? like the hermione x ron x lavender love triangle?”
Bonus: This doesn't follow canon plot, The Upside Down and Vecna are still about and a threat, but Chrissy doesn't die in Eddie's trailer, some things are taken from the show but I reworked it for fanfic sake, please enjoy.
Word Count: 4.4k
Send me prompts to write about!
“Corroded Coffin?! Of course I remember, with a name like that, how could I forget?!” Chrissy exclaims excitedly from her spot on the bench.
Chrissy and Eddie were currently hanging out in a secluded area of the forest, he was trying to make the nervous cheerleader relax around him so he could complete the deal he was currently working on. She had gotten spooked so Eddie was trying his hardest to work his natural charm to settle her nerves and make her trust him, as much as she could trust someone selling her drugs that is.
“Earth to Lonely Wizard… Come in? Lonely Wizard, are you there? Over.” You mumbled, your voice echoing in the forest from the speaker on Eddie’s walkie talkie.
A little flustered, Eddie reached over to swipe the radio out from the seat of the bench, excusing himself politely from Chrissy and turning to wander away from her to respond to your call.
“Yeah? Uh… Can’t talk right now, I’m in the middle of a deal, is it important or can this wait?” he asked, keeping his voice hushed. It’s only when he heard you clearing your throat that he added “Over…” to the end of your response.
“A deal? Who with? Over.” voice full of intrigue, completely ignoring his question in favour of probing him with your own.
“Look, I can’t talk right now. I’ll swing by once I’m—” he starts, but you can hear Chrissy’s sweet voice in the background as she asks if he is going to be taking much longer as she had somewhere to be.
“Chrissy? The Queen of Hawkins High is buying drugs from you?” you were perplexed, voice conveying your pure shock as you couldn’t believe that this was happening.
Eddie fumbled to switch off the walkie talkie before anything else could be heard from either end, letting out a sigh before he wanders back to the bench to her. Apologising for the interruptions, he’s then sitting back down across from her, noticing how she has once again become tense and on edge.
You repeatedly tried contacting Eddie through the handset, only getting more and more annoyed that he had closed off his communication. He didn’t normally blow you off like that, he normally dropped everything to hangout with you or to let you know beforehand where he’s going. The fact he’s hanging out with a girl AND hiding it? That didn’t’ sit well with you.
“Sorry about that…” Eddie mumbled, “Okay, I can do 25% discount for the ½, $15. You’re robbing me blind here…” he laughed, glancing across at the usually peppy blonde.
“Uh… Do you…. Have anything, maybe… Stronger?” she asked, unsure of herself as she kept her eyes away from Eddie.
He looked at her as if he wasn’t really sure what to say, sure, he had other stuff, but that wasn’t usually for sale. He got by just fine with selling the weed to random people at school and around town, he didn’t just pass out pills or anything else without taking it into serious consideration. Partially for the health and wellbeing of the buyer, but also knowing the punishment and risks of getting caught with or with selling the harder stuff.
“Are you sure?” he asks, looking over her expression, not really convinced that she actually wanted to do this.
She nodded sheepishly, to which he informed her that they’d have to go back to his trailer to get it. They packed up their things and made their way to Eddie’s van, the older guy driving her to his place in almost silence as Chrissy was bubbling with nerves and he was just on edge. For all he knew, this could have been a trap to catch him and get him in trouble with the police, he couldn’t just let down his guard without second guessing it.
Shutting off the engine, they climb out of the car and slam the doors shut, Eddie lets her inside first before following in soon after her. The trailer door slammed shut and they disappeared out of sight, causing you to pull down your binoculars and huff in annoyance from where you sat in Max’s trailer with her.
“Son of a bitch!” you cuss.
Max glancing your way with an amused look on her face. She knew you hadn’t come by just to hangout. She knew you wanted to use her to spy on Eddie, and as long as you told her the details? She was game.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
You felt arms wrapping around your midsection from behind and a kiss being pressed to your shoulder whilst you’re putting your things away in your locker, it making you jump slightly, but soon relaxed at the smell of your boyfriend lingering on you. Glancing up at him with a weak smile, you say hello before focusing back on what you were doing.
“Hi, sweetheart.” Eddie says fondly, pressing a kiss to the centre of your forehead once you’d finally turned to face him.
“Why was Chrissy at your house last night? Why didn’t you call me back when you got home? Why did I have to find out via Max that you were home and that you brought another girl home?” You snapped, questions being fired off left right and centre from you. Technically the Max part wasn’t true, but he didn’t need to know that.
He looked stunned, overwhelmed at the sudden outburst from you and he struggled to find an answer he could give without someone getting in trouble. He eventually sighed and wrapped his arms around you once again, you tried to push him away, but his voice in your ear made you think twice.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled, only loud enough for you to hear, “It got weird… She wanted to buy some weed cause she’s having a hard time, but then she asked for something stronger? You know I don’t keep that shit on me so we had to go back to my place… She bought some and then took it, and she ended up reacting really badly to it so I had to make sure she didn’t die. The town already hates me, I didn’t really want people to find her body in my trailer and assume “The Freak” killed her. I should have told you but it was really late when I finally got her to sober up and take her home, I’m sorry.”
You took a couple moments to process everything he just said before nodding in understanding. He wasn’t forgiven, but you were relieved to hear it was far more innocent than you first thought. Out of context things looked really badly for Eddie, but this put a small spin on things.
“Alright.” Is all you say, the bell ringing as you’re receiving another kiss to your forehead, Eddie shuts your locker and walks you to class.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
Classes went by slower than usual today, everything felt like a drag. Maybe it was the exhaustion from the adrenaline crash you had from last night? Who knows? All you knew was that you were tired and wanted to get home. You walk back to your locker to put your last class’s stuff away when you see Eddie leaning up against his locker, Chrissy annoyingly close by to him.
They’re laughing and she’s giggling like a school girl with a crush, making you see red as you walk past. An annoyed look on your face as you stuff your things into the locker and slam it shut with a huff. Gather attention from those around you from the sudden bang of noise it caused.
Eddie closed his locker and excused himself from the conversation with Chrissy before making his way over to you, hand sliding into your own as he gives your cheeks a few soft kisses. You relaxed instantly once he was focusing back on you, catching the pouty look on Chrissy’s face as you both exchanged kisses.
“What did Pom Poms want?” You mumble between kisses, causing him to snicker at the childish choice of nickname.
“She tried inviting me to the party this weekend cause her parents are out of town, I told her I’m not much of a party person but she insisted.”
“Oh… Are you gonna go?” you frown a little.
“Hell no, it’s the night of the Hellfire Campaign, I’m not missing that for a couple warm beers shitty music.” He grinned, kissing the side of your head and giving your hand a squeeze as he lead you back to his truck so he could take you home.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
“I pick Eddie!” Chrissy squealed the next day in class, declaring the metal head as her work partner for the day.
The teacher had just told the class to buddy up as this project would be a collaborative project, so you were surprised when the most popular girl in school picked him. Not because he didn’t deserve the attention, but because he was always your partner. He’s your boyfriend, you always working together on things.
“Wait, huh?” He looked confused, surprised to see the blonde happily making her way over to his desk with her things, plopping herself down beside him.
He shot you an apologetic look as there’s nothing he could do about it, not without causing a scene. You sigh in defeat before turning to Robin who’s already watching the scene play out. She’s gesturing for you to come and work with her as Steve and Nancy already coupled up. Scooping up your things and walking to sit beside her, you thank her for picking you.
“Please, I’m just glad I’m not stuck with Snoozy Suzie, I’m sick of doing all the work and having to put her name on there for credit” she explained, causing you both to snicker before starting to plan the project.
Every now and again chrissy’s obnoxious giggle would fill the room, looking at her to see her touching and flirting with your boyfriend, him being clueless to the whole thing. You’d already snapped one pencil in anger, to which Robin grabbed her pencil case and clutched it to her chest in over dramatic shock as if to defend the rest of her pencils from your evil ways.
“Whoa there, Thor. What did my pencil ever do to you?!” Robin whined, to which you shot her an apologetic look before leaning closer to explain the situation to her.
Once she was caught up, she glanced in their direction and rolled her eyes. She could tell that Chrissy was doing the most and Eddie didn’t have a freaking clue what was going on.
“Boys are clueless, hm?” She asked
“You’re telling me.” You grumbled, sliding over your extra stick of bubblegum as a ways of calling a truce for breaking her Pencil.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
“You’ve gotta be shitting me…” you curse as you walk into the lunchroom to see Chrissy standing beside your friends as they’re sat at their usual table.
You walk closer with a confused look on your face, greeting the guys with a tone that should read ‘wtf is going on here?’ Eddie beams at the sight of you and tugs you down onto his lap, arms around your middle as he gives you a couple kisses to the cheek whilst Chrissy was talking.
The poor blonde was doing her best to seem quirky and cute, trying to keep the attention of the table on her as she needed it. The other guys one by one lost interest by either their food or something they were reading in their magazines in preparing for this weekend’s campaign. Chrissy resorted in focusing on only Eddie as he was the only one who was polite enough to ensure she didn’t feel left out.
“So, Eddie…? Are you coming to the big game this weekend?” She asks, eyes hopeful.
“I hate sports.” He says bluntly at the exact same time that you manage to mumble ‘he hates sports.’ It made you grin and caused Eddie to laugh a little at how in sync you were, anyone who knew Eddie for more than a second would know that basketball wasn’t his thing. At all.
“Oh… Really? But, it would be so cool to have you there! Plus, I’ll be leading the cheer team at during the match so—“ she continues, to which you cut her off with a tone laced with sarcasm.
“I thought you were having a party this weekend? What happened to that?”
She looked flustered, clearing her throat before scrambling for a response. It was obvious that there was no party, just another attempt at getting Eddie alone.
“Yeah, uh, that’s after! To celebrate!”
“And what if you lose? You gonna “celebrate” getting your ass kicked? Bit weird.” You could tell you were being hostile, you truly didn’t care. The guys surrounding you all looked up from whatever they were doing to pay attention, a free front row seat to the show.
“Uh… i don’t know, maybe?” She shrugs.
“I have Hellfire anyway, so I can’t. Sorry.” Eddie interjects, he could feel you getting tense in his lap so he tried to defuse the situation. He had no intention of going to the game even if he was free, he just needed a valid excuse to end this agonising conversation.
“Oh… That’s okay! Next time?” Hope back in her voice, to which Eddie just gives her an awkward smile and nod, empty promises.
You watch as she waves goodbye to him, only him, causing your eyes to roll back into the pits of hell with how peeved you were.
“Bye, Pom Poms!” You call out in annoyance.
Dustin snickered beside you, clearly everyone could see what was happening here. Everyone except Eddie, who was still as clueless as always. He just assumed you didn’t like Chrissy for whatever reason, and he didn’t want you unhappy with her lingering about.

Eddie and Chrissy started spending more and more time together outside of school. He would (attempt) to help her with her homework whenever she feigned being unable to answer a certain question, they’d grab milkshakes at the mall after drug deals (just weed for Chrissy, she’s learnt her lesson), she even went to a couple of his shows at The Hideout.
Eddie? He was just enjoying the company of a good friend, he was polite and respectful and kept her at an arm’s length. Chrissy, though? She was another story. She would be overly flirty, giving him nicknames and complimenting him, trying to get involved in every aspect of his life. She was trying to take your place.
You knew that, she knew that, but no one spoke a word of it. At this point she was one of Eddie’s most valued customers, as much as it killed you, you didn’t want to ruin that for him cause he needed the money. So you swallowed your pride and let them hangout as long as there were boundaries. These boundaries hadn’t been discussed, they were merely in your head. You’d soon make it known if things went too far for your liking…
That day? It came quicker than hoped. You hoped she would get bored and find someone else to spend all her free time with. Chrissy and Jason were always breaking up and getting back together again, you thought it would only be a few days before they were smooching in the hallway against the lockers. Leaving Eddie alone, hopefully.
You were just finishing up reading in the library, studying for your English test that’s coming up next week. Eddie was hosting Hellfire and it was due to end at any moment, so you packed up your things and started walking through the school down towards the club. This was routine for you now, he’d play games with the kids and then you’d wait for him, and he would drive you all home together to make sure everyone got home safe afterwards.
Upon getting to the door to the club, you saw that Chrissy was sat on the floor waiting. You halted, taken aback from the sight of the squeaky clean teenager waiting outside the Dungeons and Dragons room. None of the words of that sentence went together in your head, she shouldn’t be here.
“What are you doing here?” You ask, attempting to seem polite so you don’t cause friction, she was now a good friend of Eddie’s after all.
“Oh, I’m waiting for Eddie! I was hoping he would be okay to give me a ride home once he’s done!” She said, voice far too cheery for your liking.
“He can’t, he’s driving the kids home and then we’re getting burgers together.” You state, knowing that there would technically be enough room in the van, but you didn’t want her to tag along. “Shouldn’t you be at the game anyway? Thought you had to do that tonight? Or was it your fake party? Or some other ruse to get him alone?” Your voice sounding more pissed with each passing minute.
“Oh; uh. It was… postponed?” She questions, spurting out the first thing that came to her mind as to why she wasn’t at the various hangout suggestions she had mentioned.
“All of them? What bad luck…” your tone soaking in sarcasm, you didn’t buy a single letter of her bullshit. “Just go home, Chrissy.”
You were growing tired of her games. It was hard enough dealing with her via proxy as a friend of Eddie’s, you didn’t want to deal with her fully mingling in your circle.
“Do you have a problem with me?” She questioned.
You stayed silent, staring in her direction whilst having an internal debate on whether to give you a piece of your mind or not.
“No, of course I don’t. Of course I don’t have a problem with you hanging off the arm of my boyfriend and trying to get him alone, doing drug deals and taking him for milkshakes, of course I’m totally fine with you trying to worm your way in and get affection, nope.” If looks could kill, Chrissy would be six feet under right now. Your voice made it abundantly clear that you did indeed have a problem.
“We’re just friends!” She defends, to which you scoff.
“Yeah, cause Dustin and his other friends also spend time calling him pretty and twirling his hair, hm? His other friends try and hold his hand when he’s walking beside them, hm?”
She was speechless, red in the face and speechless. She didn’t realise you’d been watching her like a hawk, seeing every little motion and gesture these past couple weeks as she grew closer to YOUR boyfriend.
“I won’t tell you again, Chrissy. Go. Home.” Your voice stern this time, watching as she stood up. You hoped she would have just taken off running and saved you the trouble, you didn’t expect her to get up in your face a little.
“Look, Eddie is my best friend! We’re going to hangout and if you wanna continue to date him, you better deal with it!” Chrissy snapped, your eyes widened and voice darkened.
“Excuse me?”
She rolled her eyes, nothing to say.
“First of all, Princess. Eddie has been my boyfriend far longer than he’s been your friend, okay? So actually, I don’t have to deal with anything. If I tell him how angry and uncomfortable you make me, if I really let him know how I truly feel, you’d be gone. I only keep my mouth shut so I don’t make him choose between us, he’s your friend and im not trying to get in the way of that. But if I told him how much you piss me off, you’d be gone quicker than Jason left you for Tiffany.”
Chrissy gasps in surprise that you’d sink that low to say such a hurtful thing. It was kinda out of line, but right now? You didn’t care.
“Secondly, that boy has a heart of gold but he’s not good at picking up signals. He thinks you’ve just been friendly this whole time, but I see the way you look at him and I know you’re trying to get in his pants. He’s not interested in you, he’s perfectly happy with me. He doesn’t even know you like him like that, so I’d take this as an opportunity to back off and muffle any little crush you have on him, cause it’s never going to happen.”
You step closer to her, which immediately she shrinks in on herself, not quite as tough as she made herself out to be moments ago.
“And thirdly? Get up in my face like that again, or try and tell me what I can and cannot do with MY boyfriend? and I’ll make Vecna look like a god damn puppy, you hear me?” Your voice hushed, it wasn’t just a threat.
Before she could answer or even acknowledge you, the sound of a squeaky door pulled you both from the heat of the moment. Both of your heads snap towards the sound and see Eddie folding his arms and holding them to his chest whilst he glanced between you both.
“Do we have a problem?” he asks. You hadn’t realised how loud both of you had gotten, to the point where it interrupted the game they were playing inside. Eddie had shrugged it off a couple times, but it became too distracting so he had to check it out for himself. Over his shoulder you could see the kids dressed up in various little outfits, wide eyed and clearly focusing on nothing but what the adults were yelling about outside.
“N-No” Chrissy mumbled, shaking her head and looking down to the floor, red faced.
“Jury’s still out on that one.” You grump, eyes soon locked back on the nervous blonde, eyes burning a hole into her head.
“Y/N, go sit with Erica for a second…” glaring at Chrissy whilst you slip into the room, going to sit with the kids as the door shuts behind you. Leaving Chrissy and Eddie face to face to talk, swatting the arms of the kids and hushing them so you could hear what was being said.
Not long after, Eddie returns to the room and thankfully? He was alone. His face holding an expression that says “we’ll talk later.” Sitting back at the head of the table, he clears his throat and resume the campaign, you sit in silence the whole time, glancing between Eddie and the kids.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
Erica and Lucas were the last stop, watching as the kids disappear safely inside of their home with a small wave befor Eddie pulls out of their driveway and makes his way back home. The ride was silent, awkward. You felt like you were in trouble even though you’d done nothing wrong. Nothing serious, at least.
Pulling up to his trailer, you both get out of the car and walk inside, taking off your shoes and jacket whilst Eddie locks up and grabs himself a beer to unwind with on the couch.
“You’re such a brat, you know?” He starts, catching you off guard, before you’ve got a chance to defend yourself, he continues. “But that’s why I love you… I’m sorry.”
Looking more confused than ever, you didn’t know what’s happening. Why was he apologising? Why was he calling you a name? Huh?
“For Chrissy….” He could see the look on your face and decided to provide context, setting down his beer to run a hand through his own curly hair as he spoke. “Listen… She needed a friend, I became that, you know? She was terrified, to the point of asking for pills because the shit with Vecna freaked her out so bad. She couldn’t go home or tell anyone cause no one believed her, I just wanted to make her feel better, you know? Steve and Dustin were on my ass about her being around cause they said she liked me and said you hated her. I blew them off cause it sounded like bullshit, I’m just an idiot aren’t I?”
You watch as he sighs and puts his face in his hands, shaking your head as you wander closer to him.
“A… cute idiot?” You offer with a half hearted tone, taking his hands and holding them in your own as he looks up at you with a sad smile.
“I just… I don’t know. I’m just so smitten with you that it doesn’t even cross my mind that anyone else could be a person of interest; you know? I saw her as a friend and assumed she did the same for me. So for weeks I’ve been sending her mixed signals and hurting you in the process, I’m sorry, sweetheart,” he sighs.
“It’s okay, I know you didn’t do it on purpose. I get really jealous easily and she was one stop away from throwing herself at you. I just couldn’t take it anymore.” You pout.
Bringing you into his lap, his arms wrap around your middle and he gives you a few soft kisses as you straddle him. Hands resting on his cheeks so your thumbs can glide against his cheekbones. Getting lost in his big brown eyes as your noses bump together, falling into the same heartbeat rhythm as you talk.
“She’s gone, don’t worry. I told her that I’m not going to jeopardise what we have when she makes you so uncomfortable. Plus she clearly doesn’t respect you if she’s been chasing me this whole time, and I don’t respect anyone who disrespects you. Okay?”
Nodding in understanding, he’s then bringing you down and giving you one last kiss against your pouty lips.
“Okay… Thank you.” You mumble.
You fall against his chest and end up in a warm bundle of limbs, tangled together in a protective and comforting manner. The both of you keeping the other soothed, you playing with his hair and him stroking your back fondly. A snort from Eddie snaps you out of your thoughts.
“Hm?” You mumble into his shoulder.
“‘I’ll make Vecna look like a puppy’” he says, doing his best impression of you before he cracks up laughing.
You groan, red cheeked and hiding in the curve of his neck, somewhat embarrassed by how cheesy your line was earlier, “shut uuuuup” you whine, to which he just giggles, squeezes you closer and kisses the top of your head.
“That’s never gonna happen, sweetheart.”

part one | part two | part three
Tumblr media
The nagging was constant since your parents arrived back from their trip. Dropping Chrissy off brought up so many emotions for them, and you were the unfortunate winner of having to deal with the aftermath. It all started when you greeted them as they walked through the front door, the cracks in your chest becoming larger thanks to their words and Eddie’s actions over the past couple of weeks.
As summer grew closer to a close, your parents kept insisting you go out more and live your senior year to the fullest, attending football games and making friends with the jocks Chrissy left behind, or going to Starcourt and shopping for new outfits for the school year, which wasn’t starting for another two weeks. They were growing agitated by your constant presence, something you never really picked up on because you spent so much of your time with Eddie.
Eddie.
The metalhead had given you the space you asked for, calling every now and then to check on you and try to talk with you, only you kept your conversations sparse and brief. You could tell by the sound of his voice he was hurt, but you were hurting too, more so now that your parents were home and continuing to pressure you into becoming the perfect daughter you apparently never were.
The sad part? You missed the safe haven Eddie provided you over the years. It was always either him or Chrissy you would run to when things got bad, but a majority of the time it was Eddie. He knew your parents treated you unfairly when compared to Chrissy, which made being his second choice all the more hurtful.
You walk through the door of your home, shopping bags in hand as you toss your keys on the side table. Taking your mother’s suggestion, you went to Starcourt and cleared your head, grabbing a few new pieces for school that you wanted to go try on. Walking towards the kitchen, you hear a fit of laughter erupting from the dining room. You peak your head around the corner and see your parents and the next door neighbors sitting at the table, a feast sitting in front of them.
“Hey,” you let out timidly. You watch everyone’s heads turn to you and the neighbors greet you with a slight smile.
“Sweetie what are you wearing? I thought you went to buy nice clothes,” your mother asks. You glance down at the Metallica that hung loosely on your upper body, completely forgetting you were wearing Eddie’s shirt until now. Keeping some of his clothing was such a force of habit, you’d began to forget what wasn’t already part of your wardrobe.
“Uh, yeah. I got a few things from the Gap and JCPenny,” you explain, lifting the shopping bags into their sight. She rolls her eyes and leans in a bit to whisper across the table towards the woman neighbor.
“She’s still going through a phase, I suppose. Our Chrissy never had anything like that happen, always the perfect angel,” she lets out, not bothering to lower her tone all that much. You rest your arms at your sides, letting your shoulders slump a bit, until you meet the gaze of your father, his stern look boring into you, making you reposition yourself.
“Anyway, Y/N, you know Daniel, right? He’s going to be the new basketball team captain once the season starts, now that Jason Carver’s off to college with your sister,” The woman explains. You give Daniel a small wave, him nodding in response. You two had classes together and used to ride the same bus, so of course you remembered him. But he was a dickhead, much like the rest of the jocks at Hawkins High. He would always join in on the taunting of Eddie during lunch, which is when your feelings towards the boy grew bitter.
“See now Y/N, if you started to date Daniel here, you could be the new Chrissy and Jason, following right in your sister’s footsteps,” you mother smiled, taking the fork seated beside her and picking up the green beans on her plate.
“Are you going to join us dear? Maybe we can all catch up, and you can tell us what you’ve been up to,” your neighbor says. She was always so friendly towards you, which makes you wonder how her child could turn out so horrible. Your mother rolls her eyes and continues to eat.
“T-that’s okay, I grabbed something at the mall,” you lie. Taking a few steps back, you turn your body away from the dining room and make your way up towards your bedroom. Dropping the bags on your floor, you collapse on your bed, small tears pricking behind your eyes and threatening to break free.
You hated that you let their judgmental words and actions get the better of you. Chrissy was always the one to stand up to them in a way, being your protector when things got out of hand. It made you wonder how they viewed her as the perfect daughter when she could really bite back at times.
Picking up the phone you got to have in your room now that Chrissy moved out, you dial the number to the person you needed to talk with most, hoping there is some possibility that he would be able to come help you.
“Family Video, the place to find all your movie rental needs, this is Steve, how may I help you?”
“Steve? When do you get off tonight?” You ask, a sniffle escaping pass your lips.
“I close tonight, but is everything okay? Do I need to leave Robin to do it all alone tonight?” Steve asks.
“Uh no! You are definitely not doing that!” You hear Robin shout over the phone, making you chuckle slightly.
“Okay, scratch that. But I can come by after? Like around 9:30?” He suggests. You appreciated the sentiment he was showing you, he’s always been a great support system, especially within the past few weeks.
“No, it’s okay. I appreciate it though. I hope you both have an easy closing shift,” you tell them. You bid them farewell and hang up the call, blowing out a sigh you held deep within your lungs.
Other than Steve and Robin, you didn’t have many more friends. Nancy moved to Boston shortly after Chrissy left, Emerson’s classes starting soon, so she was no longer an option to help sooth the worries and judgements away. Your sister would know just how to comfort you in this kind of situation, and it took a lot not to go knocking on her bedroom door and wrapping your arms around her as you cry.
You pick up the phone once more, dialing the last number you thought you’d call today. The emotions your parents were bringing on were clouding your judgement, making you not think rationally. The hole is your heart was aching to be stitched together again, to have some kind of peace in your life once more, even if it did feel like it was still too soon.
You didn’t want to do it. Your head was screaming at you to say no.
Ring. Ring.
But your heart? It was telling you to keep the line going.
“Munson Residence! How may I assist you,” Eddie answers, a silly accent accompanying his words. If it weren’t for your sour mood, you’d laugh at his antics, something you’d always do. But today, with everything going on within your recent history, on top of your parents, it was not the time for it.
“I miss you,” you mumble out.
The line was quiet. You could hear the static radiating through the phone, nerves building up more and more as you continued to wait for a response.
“I miss you too, Y/N,” he finally lets out. You let out a few sniffles, his voice making you feel safe enough to show some kind of emotion, unlike your conversation with Steve. It was nothing against Steve, he just…he wasn’t Eddie.
“I need you Eds. Can I come over?” you ask, more sniffles quickly accompanying your words. You used to be able to just go over without even letting him know before, so asking felt like the most foreign feeling in the world.
“Of course, sweetheart. Door’s unlocked, always will be for you,” he answers, his voice soft and sweet. You place the phone back on its dock and grab your jacket, opening your door and making a haste exit out the front door, not that your parents would notice anyway.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The journey to Eddie’s was filled with silence, the occasional car passing by and owl cooing around you. You were lucky the walk to Eddie’s trailer wasn’t that bad, only about 30 minutes. It gave you a lot of time to think about just want you wanted to say to him. The past few weeks have been lonely, and despite your fight, you missed him terribly, even more so now that your parents were home.
He was always your rock when things got bad. It became a ritual for you to just drop by his place and seek comfort from him when your parents were being assholes, and he would provide it. That’s what best friends do. So having him treat you like your parents did, just a replacement for Chrissy, felt horrible, and you really needed him to know that.
You walk up the stairs and unlatch the screen door to Eddie’s trailer, turning the knob on the other door and walking inside. You hear the soft sound of his tapes muffled behind the door of Eddie’s room. Not a lot has changed in the weeks of your absence from the trailer, a few new mugs added to Wayne’s collection and maybe a hat or two, but nothing wild. You loved the coziness of Eddie’s place, it felt warm and welcoming compared to your own.
“Eddie?” you call out, your hands wrapping around your body. The nerves you’d forgotten about slowly make their way up your spine, a chill cascading throughout your body as you watch Eddie open the door. The music is a lot quieter now, Eddie having turned it down before opening up. His hair is a bit disheveled, and he has dark circles with bags under his big brown eyes. A frown begins forming on your lips, seeing the state he’s in, what hell he’s been going through with the time you’ve taken away from him.
He’s quick to walk over to you. His feet carry him in an instant, only mere inches from your form. You look up to him, the tears you managed to fight off for so long finally coming to the surface, your face crinkling as your hands come up to muffle your sobs. Eddie wraps his arms around you, bringing you close to his chest as he buries his head in your hair. All the words you had planned to say suddenly left your mind, his touch against you turning your brain to utter mush.
“They’re so fucking cruel, Eds. I hate it there,” you tell him through broken sobs. He rubs your back, mumbling incoherent phrases in your ear as he continues to hold you close. Your arms find their way around his torso, squeezing him and pulling him closer to you.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry you have to keep putting up with that, sweetheart,” he tells you. You retreat from his touch a bit, peering up at his face through your soaked lashes. He takes his thumb and wipes away your tears, giving you a small smile. “I’m also sorry about everything I did to you a few weeks ago.”
“Eddie-“
“No, Y/N, please, I need to get this out there. I was an absolute jackass for how I treated you. I should’ve known better, and I’ve had a lot of time to think about us during our time apart. And I know now that what I was trying to show you a few weeks ago wasn’t a mistake. I tried to kiss you because I love you, like really love you,” he explains to you. You feel your breath hitch in your throat, his revelation throwing you. You were emotional and/or mind was running a mile a minute, but you couldn’t have missed those words even if you tried.
Eddie loved you.
“I-I don’t understand. Eds, you love Chrissy…” your voice trails off, looking to the floor as the crystal clear memories of a few weeks ago flood your mind. You feel Eddie’s fingers tug at your chin, forcing you to look up at him gently.
“The love I feel for Chrissy is very different from the love I feel for you, sweetheart. I thought that was what I wanted, but being without you these few weeks? I’ve been in hell, and I didn’t realize how vital you were in my life until I didn’t have you. You’re the only person in the fuckin’ town who gets me, who really sees me. And you’re my biggest supporter, and I could never live with myself if I didn’t let you know how much you really mean to me.”
“Eds, I had no idea,” you say breathlessly. You wipe away a few more tears you felt spill over, a smile creeping up on your face. “You really mean all that?”
“Every single word. You and I, we’re gonna get far away from this town. You won’t have to deal with your parents anymore, and we can go somewhere we can be free to do whatever we fuckin’ want. It’ll just be me and you, and Chrissy and Jason can visit whenever they want. W-we can get a dog or cat or whatever! All I know is I want you by my side, Y/N. Forever,” he reassures you, his hand resting on your cheek and brushing the hair out of your face.
Eddie really loved you.
“You have no idea how much I want that Eddie,” you tell him, standing on your tip toes to wrap your arms around his neck and pulling him in for a deep hug. His hands wrap around your torso once more, squeezing you tight, as if you’ll fly away if he lets go. He pulls back, looking at you with sad, pleading eyes.
“Please, Y/N, I really hope you can forgive me for how I acted. I don’t ever want to see you hurt like that night again, or the day at Family Video. Hell, even seeing you like this tonight is breaking my cynical little heart. I get it if you still hate me, really I will,” he lets out, tears of his own forming in his eyes as he lets out a small chuckle. He was never good at staying serious for too long, and showing emotions was hard for him, given everything he’s been through in his life. You smile up at him and rub away his own tears, his dimples coming to life at the feeling of your soft skin on his.
"I could never hate you Eds. Never," you tell him. You lean forward and press a kiss to his cheek, pulling away to see his eyes wide with happiness at your gesture. You smile and nuzzle back into him, giving his body another squeeze. You knew Eddie was a man true to his word, and hearing him speak so passionately to you and tell you just how much you mean to him made your heart grow three times its original size. It felt nice finally having someone love you the way you love them, no nasty comments or heartbreak would come from him, not anymore at least.
Eddie pulls away from you and takes your hand, leading you towards his couch and plopping down, gesturing for you sit down next to him. You swing your legs across his lap instead, a laugh leaving Eddie’s mouth and you snuggle him close.
“It’s just gonna be me and you, baby. I promise I’ll give you a better life with what I can, alright?” He tells you. You smile at him and go to kiss his cheek again, but he’s quick to whip his head and meet your lips. You giggle into his mouth, leaning back and resting your head against his shoulder. The countdown to graduation officially began, ready to go and explore the rest of the world with the man sitting next to you, ready to finally feel what true happiness feels like.

“So you finally told him?” Robin asked, laying on her stomach on your bed as you sat on the floor facing her.
After you left the school that afternoon you just went home and waited until you knew Robin would be home. Once you knew it would be safe to call her house, you did. Three times before Robin finally picked up. You could hear her intake of breath as she went to say something. Though you quickly cut her off, not with your words but with your tears as they began to fall freely upon hearing your friend pick up the phone.
That is how you found yourself here, with Robin laying on her stomach on your bed while you laid on the floor looking up at your ceiling. You had told Robin all about what had happened between you and Eddie at his trailer that day weeks ago, you had also told her about what you saw at school today. The emotions that you had shoved down for so long coming to the surface and staining your cheeks as the tears rolled down your face.
“Yeah, and we see how well that worked out.” You mumbled, running a hand down your face. Frustration and exhaustion are beginning to take over. Making your head heavy; you could lay on here all night.
“It’s not that bad, he’s still your friend. I’m sure he’ll talk to you if you give him the chance.”
At Robin’s words you pushed yourself up on your elbows. You knew she didn’t mean anything by it, only trying to help in the only way she felt she could. It admittedly frustrated you but you would never take it out on Robin, not when she’s been the only constant since your blow up with Eddie.
“I would love to try, but he didn’t try to talk to me that day. I doubt he’d talk to me about it now.”
Robin was silent for a moment. You could tell that she was contemplating something. Which always terrified you, her plans had a tendency to backfire even when she had different intentions. But you let her sit in quiet contemplation for a moment. Simply watching as she thought things over, wishing that you could peek inside her head sometimes. Though you didn't have to wait long to get a glimpse inside.
Robin jumped up from your bed, and joined you on the floor. Her eyes shining with a look you had come to call her “By golly I’ve got it” look. Robin grabbed your shoulders and pulled you closer to her, nearly making your noses touch. It was startling to you though it did bring a small smile to your face to see her theatrics.
“You said Henderson told you they’re going to prom together?”
You nodded, no words coming out of your mouth as close as Robin was you were.
“Then you go to prom. Take Steve, dress like you own the fucking place and make him eat it.”
A smile grew on Robin’s face as she finished telling you her idea. But you grew skeptical. It was a plan, you could give her that, and yeah it wasn’t a terrible plan. But you didn’t want to make him jealous. That never ended up the way it did in the movies. One of you would still end up hurt in the end, and with your luck lately you’d put money on it coming back to bite you in the ass.
However, getting out of the house, dressing in a killer dress and being able to party with some of your other friends DID sound pretty nice. It sounded like the perfect opportunity to get your mind off of the guy that was plaguing it.
“I’ll go to prom,” Robin squealed, excited that you were going with her plan. “However, I’m not doing it to make Eddie jealous. I just want a fun night with you and Steve. If Eddie doesn’t want to talk to me then so be it. I can have fun on my own.”
Tumblr media
Across town Eddie was sitting in his own bedroom, staring at the tux hung up on his closet door. A red tie hung from the hanger, perfectly matching the shade of red that made up Chrissy’s dress. It had taken three hours at the mall for the pair to find. Chrissy made it a point that they needed to match perfectly, dragging Eddie into a plethora of stores before finding it.
Overall the day hadn’t been bad, Eddie had enjoyed the time he and Chirssy had spent together. But he felt like something was missing. Like, he could laugh with Chirssy but he found himself missing the way he would laugh with you; the full bellied, leave you in stitches type of laughter. He enjoyed movie nights with Chrissy, relishing in the way he could pull her close and let his hands wander. But he found himself missing the horror movies the two of you would watch together and the junk food and marijuana you would consume. Oftentimes the night would end with the two of you cuddling close, much like he and Chrissy would. He loved having Chrissy at Hellfire meeting and introducing her to the complexities of the game. But damn, he missed being able to play with you and watch as you figured out each of his traps and set ups. He thought it was nice to have a girlfriend, especially one like Chrissy who he had mooned over for years. But he missed being able to talk to his best friend about anything and everything.
It took a second as his mind wandered off. But realization dawned on Eddie.
He missed you. He missed his best friend. And he needed to fix it.

Walking down the seemingly never-ending hallway, you curse yourself. Being 5 minutes late to your first class wouldn't leave an excellent impression. You cringe when the door creaks open—squeezing your eyes shut and pursing your lips. You beeline to the back of the class and take the first empty seat you see. The boy sitting beside the vacant one gives you a tight-lipped smile. He has big brown eyes and long curly hair.
'He's cute,' You think to yourself.
Tumblr media
Two weeks later, you sit in the building's lobby. Eddie almost does a spit-take when you tell him your first impression of him. "I swear!" You protest—eyes squinted from laughter, "I thought you had to be James Hetfield's son. Distant cousin, at least."
"It's just because of the clothes," He laughs.
"And the hair! The hair!"
He laughs more; you join him.
Tumblr media
Not long after you've met, the two of you drive around in his van blasting music, singing, talking, the whole nine yards. Soon, you're at his trailer, talking to this famed "Wayne" Eddie always speaks so highly about. He doesn't say much before leaving, and you're worried he doesn't like you.
"He likes you just fine, lovely," He reassures. Your stomach flips at the nickname. Lovely, he's never called you that before.
You nod, butterflies swarming in your stomach.
"What made you move here?" He asks, expertly rolling.
You're startled by the question, "Wanted to get away from my place. Family sucks sometimes," You shrug.
"So you decided to come to the rundown, shoddy town of Hawkins, Indiana?"
"Yeah."
"And then you befriended the town freak?"
You nod.
He shakes his head, "It seems like you're doing life all wrong."
"I think I'm doing it all right," You argue, "I met this boy, and we became friends. He's, like, the best friend I've ever had." You smile, looking at your hands as they rest in your lap.
Eddie smiles when he sees your eyes wandering around his room. He grins when you gawk at his homemade Corroded Coffin poster.
"You have a Corroded Coffin poster?" You practically squealed.
Eddie was confused, "Yes?"
Your head whips around so fast Eddie's worried you've injured yourself, "So you know who they are?" You were practically gushing.
"Yes?"
"Oh my God," Your words are rushed, "I love their music. I can't find any posters or shirts or anything. Where did you find this?"
Eddie can't stop his heart from overflowing, and his cheeks hurt from smiling so much, "C'mon. I have something to show you. It's in the car."
Excitedly, you skip through his house and up to his van. He searches through the back to find a CD. He's giddy as he hops in, signaling you to do the same. Once you're in the bucket of bolts, as you like to call it—Eddie hates the nickname with a passion. Eddie starts the van, slotting the CD into the player.
"This is, uh," You hear a voice come through, "Our first recording. Hope it sounds good. This is Eddie Munson. From Corroded Coffin," He adds, "For record purposes—or something like that. I'm really fucking high right now."
Your jaw is on the floor, "You're lying."
"I'm not lying!" He argues.
"I genuinely don't believe that my best friend is part of the band Corroded Coffin."
"Baby, not only am I part of it, I'm the lead guitarist."
The nickname, everything about this, has the butterflies fighting their way up your ribcage. You won't let them win.
"If I ever got to see you perform," You say, exhaling smoke, "I would've thrown my bra on the stage."
Eddie laughs, hoping you don't see how red his face is getting. "You wouldn't have," He disputes, "I'm just some guy."
"Or my panties," You ignore him, "Or any article of clothing."
"Again, babe, I'm just some guy." He repeats.
"Some awesome guy," You correct, "Who is sexy and can play the guitar."
Eddie sits up to stare at you, "Did you just call me sexy?"
Your eyes are saucers, "No. No, I didn't. I would never say anything like that."
A smirk crawls up Eddie's face, settling on his lips. It's a good look, you think, before shaking your head. Trying to get rid of the thought like your mind was an etch-a-sketch.
"What are you thinking about, pretty thing?"
The butterflies are in your throat, and you're unsure how long you can contain them. "Nothing," You respond, bringing the joint back to your lips.
He snatches it away from you, and you whine. He frowns at you, mocking sympathy, "You can have it back when you tell me what you're thinking."
Finally, you sit up, "'M thinking about how I want to smoke some more." You huff, crossing your arms.
"C'mon, babe," He pleads, batting his big brown eyes.
The butterflies are in your mouth, and you hold your breath, willing them not to escape. "I have to leave," Your words are rushed as you stand up, frantically looking for your sweater.
Eddie watches in amusement, "Looking for something?" He holds the sweater out of your reach.
"Whatever, I don't even need my sweater." You huff, going to storm out of his home.
Eddie stops you, "Shit, baby. I didn't know I upset you that much. I'm sorry." He frowns, and it feels sincere. So many things feel sincere with him, and it hurts your heart. You accept his apology and walk back to his room. He snuggles up with you in the tiny bed. It's nice when you lay with Eddie. His hands explore your body—they trace over your stretch marks and scars, rub up and down your thigh, and grab at your stomach. He doesn't touch you like a typical boy would. He's not lustful; he's gentle. He has no ulterior motives—he just wants to be close to you. He squeezes your hip, and you sigh pleasantly—a butterfly escapes. You let him know that he is bliss through a simple sigh, and Eddie takes that information and runs with it. He squeezes your hip again. You hum.
"Nice," You tiredly whisper.
Eddie can't help his grin, "Yeah? Feels nice, baby?"
You nod lazily, "Like when you call me baby."
Yeah, you're tired—tired and high.
He hums in response, and you fall asleep in his arms.
Eddie can definitely get used to this, he thinks. He finds you lovely like this. You have a little bit of drool on the corner of your mouth, and you'll totally freak out about it later. He's not sure why. All he knows is that you'll pitch a playful fit if he pokes fun at you. You'll do that thing where you get all pouty, and Eddie just wants to kiss your lips, which is something he cannot do. So he'll stick with not making fun of you.
You're softly snoring, and Eddie can't help but think that this is domesticity—this is what it's all about. For the first time, Eddie knows what he wants. He wants to wake up to you clinging onto him like a koala, and he wants to wipe away your drool, and he wants to get up and make breakfast for you.
"Baby," He whispers. It's gentle, like he doesn't want to wake you up, but he knows you'll be upset if you're late to class. You groan and murmur: "Five more minutes."
He wants to say okay, but it's eight o'clock, and you need to leave in twenty minutes.
"Baby," He repeats, softly shaking you, "It's eight."
You nearly spring up, "Eight?!" You ask, exasperated. "Eddie," You whine, "Why didn't you get me up earlier?"
"Because last night you told me to get you up at eight," He shrugs.
"I said eight at the latest, Eddie." You frown and cross your arms. And then you feel it—there's drool on your face. You furiously wipe at the side of your mouth, growing more embarrassed by the moment. You get up, grab your clothes, and head to the bathroom. It's pretty cramped in there; you make do. You splash cold water on your face, grab your toothbrush, and brush your teeth for undoubtedly shorter than two minutes. Your fingers comb through your hair, and you call it a day.
You lean against Eddie's doorframe, "Funny seeing you here." You smirk, and then your face heats up when you realize he's shirtless. Then, you can't stop staring at the plethora of scars that litter his body. What the fuck?
"Like what you see?" He asks, flashing his teeth. Then, his expression drops as he realizes that you're not enjoying the view; you're wondering what the fuck happened to him.
"I'll tell you in the car," He mutters. This is it—this is the end of any kind of chance he had with you. You won't believe him. Hell, he didn't believe it for a while.
On the drive to school, he tells you. He tells you everything, keeping his eyes on the road. He's too scared of your rejection. At the end of the story, all you have to say is: "I believe you, Eddie."
You're parked when he speaks next, and the three minutes in between feel like torture.
"You do?"
You can't make out his expression, "Eddie," You laugh out, though nothing's humorous, "If you told me the loch ness monster was real, I would believe you."
"Babe, this is far weirder than the loch ness monster. There is another dimension, baby."
The nickname has another butterfly escaping from your mouth as you smile.
"What's got you so happy?" He laughs as you try to hide your grin.
"Nothing," You shake your head. Eddie doesn't believe you.
"Are you happy that I almost died? What is it?"
You turn sheepish, fidgeting with your rings, "You called me baby again."
"You're cute as a button."
Class is spent yawning and passing notes to one another. Eddie's good at drawing, and he draws you amazing, stupid doodles. You keep every single one. They are hung up all over your room.
"Worst room decor ever," Eddie mumbles as he enters your room.
"Best room decor ever," You correct him.
"I can't believe you kept all of this. All of my shitty drawings."
You furrow your brows, "They're not shitty, Eddie. Don't say things like that."
He laughs at your sincerity, "Okay, baby, I won't."
There's no way he's not saying it just to fluster you at this point.
"Stop," You whine.
"Stop what, baby?"
You huff as you plop onto your bed, "Calling me baby."
"I thought you liked it when I called you baby, baby."
"I like it when you do it sincerely, Edison."
"Edison?!" His brows jump, "Isn't that the dude who invented the lightbulb?"
"All those years in high school did pay off!" You clap, "Good job Eddie!"
He scowls, "Funny. Real amusing," You giggle, "Yeah, keep it up. Keep laughing at the freak."
You pout, "I'm not laughing at the freak. I'm laughing at the smart boy I met on my first day of college."
Fuck, Eddie wants to kiss the pout right off of you. He settles for sitting next to you.
"Don't pout, baby," He rests his head on your shoulder, "I'm not worth pouting over."
This time, you actually pout, "What do you mean 'not worth pouting over?'"
"C'mon, sweetheart," He sighs, "I'm not worth much in general."
"You are worth so much, Eddie. And I'm not just saying that. You mean so much to me. You think I'd pin anyone's drawings up all around my room?"
He hides his head further into your neck.
"Hey, don't get all shy on me now." You chide, though the words have no backbone to them.
"'M getting shy on you. Not gonna stop until you're done being sappy." He murmurs into your neck—his hair is tickling you. You cant find it in you to care.
"C'mon," You whine, "Show me your pretty face, Eddie."
"No." He nuzzles further into your neck, "Called me pretty." He's soft-spoken—it's an intimate moment. An intimate moment that's unlike any other you've had. A boy is on your shoulder, and you built up the courage to call him pretty.
"You are pretty," You affirm.
"So are you."
You smile, butterflies growing stronger.
Tumblr media
"You want to have lunch together?" Your voice crackles over the phone, and Eddie is unable to make out what you're saying.
"Sorry, what was that, sweetheart?"
"Edward," You state, "Would you like to get lunch with me?"
He frowns, "I can't."
You frown, too, "Why not?"
"An old friend is in town. I'm getting lunch with her at the best diner ever." He explains
"Oh!"
"Yeah, I'm really excited to see her." He continues.
"Okay, okay, we get it. You can't wait to see your BFF." Your tone is slightly more bitter than you intend, and Eddie picks up on it.
"What? You jealous?" He teases.
"Furthest thing from it, Edwin."
"Edwin?!"
"Goodbye, Edmund." You hang up.
Dejected, you walk to the cafeteria.
It's only been a year since Eddie last saw Chrissy, and he's missed her like hell. Back in the little diner, they laugh over nothing and everything.
He gets a call in the middle of Chrissy telling a story.
"Baby?" He answers, and Chrissy lights up.
"Can you get me something? A burger, maybe?"
And, of course, he'll bring you a burger. He'd bring you the sun and the moon if it meant he could see you smile.
"No," He declares, "No, I will not do that."
"Did I do something, Eddie? Sorry for calling you Edwin earlier. If that's what you're upset about."
"I'm joking around, baby. I'll definitely bring back a burger for you. I'll get you all the burgers you want. I'll fill my van with burgers, even." He twirls his hair. Chrissy can't stop grinning.
"Love you forever, Eds. I gotta go now."
"Why?" Eddie wines.
"'Cause there's a really cute boy walking towards me. Bye!"
And before he can respond, you've hung up.
"So..." Chrissy starts, "Who're you calling 'baby?'"
"Nobody," Eddie goes red, staring at his fries.
"C'mon, Eddie," She pleads, "I told you all about my girlfriend. Time to tell me about your partner."
"I'm not dating anybody, actually," Eddie frowns the slightest bit, "We're just friends."
"Okay, so," Chrisssy claps her hands together, "While I am here, I will be rolling out my master plan: Get Eddie Together With The Love of His Life. I'll figure out a way to shorten it."
Eddie's eyes widen, "Woah! Love of my life? A little too far, Chris."
"I saw that smile," She giggles, "Don't try and hide it from me."
Tumblr media
"Reminder to self," You say, walking to class, "Just because he's cute does not mean he's interesting."
"Where's the pretty boy?"
You turn around to see Eddie jogging toward you. He holds a box that has your name written on it, next to it, a big heart.
"He was boring," You scoffed, "Wouldn't stop talking about baseball. Who even cares?"
Eddie throws his head back, "Exactly! Who fucking cares?! Not me, I'll tell you that much."
You laugh, going to snatch the box from his hands. "Mmm. Burbger."
“Burbger?” He laughs.
You nod, “Mhm.”
"Good burger," You sigh, "How come you've never taken me there? To the diner?" You clarify.
"Never felt the need to," He shrugs, and it hurts your feelings.
"Cool."
He nods, oblivious to his hurtful words.
Tumblr media
You don't drive home with Eddie for the first time in weeks. You know you're acting childish, but he really did hurt your feelings.
Eddie still doesn't think anything is wrong until you don't text him goodnight. You always say goodnight to him.
'Baby,'
He texts you,
'I'm not sure what I did to hurt you, but I'm sorry.'
You don't answer, and his anxieties grow by the second.
What did he do?
"Eddie?" Chrissy croaks, "It's two in the morning."
"It's actually two fifty-eight," He corrects.
"Eddie," She scolds, "You know I love you, but shut the fuck up and tell me why you called me."
"I kind of fucked up big time. A big ole fucky-wucky on my part, Chris."
"Eddie, stop speaking in riddles and tell me what's happening."
"She won't talk to me—she didn't say goodnight, she won't answer my texts, she didn't come home with me today," He rattles off.
"Woah, woah, woah cowboy." Chrissy sighs, "Do you have any clue why she might not have said goodnight?"
"Because I fucked up?" He asks.
"Obviously. Do you know why you fucked up?"
"No. I don't. I have not a clue, Chris." He sighs, "Not a clue."
"Okay. Unhelpful," Chrissy groans, "Recall today's events."
"I woke up at seven forty-six," He begins.
"I meant your interactions with her, dimwit."
"She asked if I wanted to have lunch," he begins recounting his day, "Then she asked for a burger. I gave her the burger, and she said it was delicious. She then asked me why I never took her to the diner, and I said I never felt the need to. That's it."
Chrissy rolls her eyes, sighing, "You told her you never felt the need to?"
Eddie senses he's made a big mistake, "...Yes?"
"You idiot. Obviously, this diner is special to you, right?"
Eddie rubs his hand over his face, "I told her it's the best diner ever."
"Idiot! Idiot, idiot, idiot! You are so incredibly foolish, Edward."
"I know," He groans, "I'm going to apologize now."
"Goodnight, Munson."
"Night, Cunningham."
Tumblr media
You wake up in a haze. Sitting up, you make a mental note to never cry yourself to sleep again. The first thing you do is check your phone.
Eddie's text lights up your screen.
'Hey,' It beings, 'Sorry for saying I never felt the need to take you to the diner. It's a really special place for me. I don't go often because I need it to remain special. I need it to stay stuck in time. I've only ever gone with my friends from before you, but I'll take you soon. I promise.'
It doesn't come off the best, but you know what he means. You're new to his life, and he wants to keep the diner old.
'Thanks, Eds :) I forgive you,' You reply.
'See you at school,' You finish.
Eddie walks into the lobby with a wild grin, searching for you. You're on your phone, probably playing that stupid game he likes to make fun of.
Eddie pulls out the seat opposite yours. You look up and smile.
"You look like the Cheshire Cat," You smirk.
"He went... that way," He puts on a goofy voice, reciting the creepy cat.
"Who did?" You play along.
"The white rabbit."
You widen your eyes, "He did?"
"Who did?" He furrows his brows.
"The white rabbit," You chuckle.
He takes a deep inhale, "What rabbit?"
Laughing, you continue, "But you just said— oh dear."
Eddie stands up, extending his arm toward you, "Can you stand on your head?"
You giggle, taking his hand.
You grab lunch together. Eddie's not ready to take you to the diner, so you settle for the small pizza place next to campus. Eddie nearly inhales his food, and you laugh when he chokes on his soda. You feel an overwhelming sense of joy when it comes to him, and you know the butterflies are making their way out.
On the drive to his house, he taps along with a song you've just played, and you're bubbling with excitement that he just listened to music that wasn't metal. Let alone a piece you showed him.
"I could get used to your music," He pauses, inhales deeply, then continues. "I think."
You laugh—you're always laughing with him, it seems.
You find yourself on the couch with a bowl of popcorn, ready to watch Scream. Eddie plops down next to you when the movie starts. About five minutes in, he pretends to yawn and reaches his arm around your shoulder. You giggle, leaning into him, and the butterflies flap their wings rapidly. You fall asleep on Eddie's side.
Tumblr media
"Lovebirds," You hear a voice boom, "Go to bed."
You groggily open your eyes and look up to, what seems to be, the voice of god. It's Wayne, you realize.
Eddie's face is bright red after his uncle's words register.
'Lovebirds.'
You seem unaffected by the term; secretly, excitement bubbles in your stomach.
"Didn't I tell you to fall asleep in a bed? Not on my couch?"
"Sorry, Wayne," You mumble.
He pats you on the shoulder, "Just don't want you two to have back pains before you're supposed to."
"Thanks, Wayne," You murmur as you shuffle to Eddie's room.
"Of course," The man grumbles.
"Told you he likes you," Eddie mumbles into your hair as he presses a chaste kiss to your head.
"Kids in love," Wayne mutters, sitting on the couch.
Tumblr media
Fucking midterms. You genuinely cannot stand them. You've been up late every night this week studying and want to bash your head in. You've barely had time to see Eddie outside of class, and it just makes everything ten times worse. You've talked to him over the phone, but nothing matched his touch. His warm, calloused hands would run up and down your arms when you were cold or up and down your sides when you lay together. You've missed his lingering kisses on your cheek and forehead.
You've also missed Wayne. You've come to understand how he shows love—just last week, he gave you your favorite candy, and you were gushing about it to Eddie.
Now, you sit in your room—the only light coming from your laptop, and the wrapper of Wayne's gift is crumpled on your desk's side. Your phone buzzes, and you smile at the stupid picture of Eddie that lights up your screen.
"Hello?" Eddie says in a goofy voice, "Hellooo?" He asks again.
"Hi," You respond with a giddy smile.
"Hi, I'm lookin' for a real pretty girl. She told me that this is her phone number. She's brilliant and sweet, and my uncle Wayne loves her."
"Yeah? Lookin' for her?"
"I sure am."
"I'll let her know in about an hour—when she finishes studying."
Eddie pouts, hoping you'll hear it, "Why?"
It doesn't go unnoticed, "'Cause she's gotta study."
"Booo!" He yells. You hang up.
Tumblr media
"Hello?" You ask with a smile.
"Hi."
"Someone told me a very handsome guy was calling for me. Said he's got cool rings and can play guitar."
"Oh!" You can hear him chuckle, "I do recall that conversation."
"So," You take a deep breath, "What'd ya want to talk about?"
"Politics, the weather, the deal with the DMV, and how I hate my wife."
You laugh, "So I've got 90's stand-up comic Eddie on the line?"
"Sure do, sweetheart."
You fall asleep on the phone.
Tumblr media
"Eds," You whisper.
He turns the music down, "Yes?"
"What if I fail?"
"Baby," He puts his hand on your thigh, and the butterflies won't stop flapping their wings, "You're not gonna fail. You've been studying all week. If anything, I'm going to fail."
You roll your eyes, "I told you you should've studied."
Eddie rolls his eyes back, snatching his hand away from you, "I told you the only way I was going to study unless it was with you."
"Oh, so this is my fault?"
"If I fail, it's your fault, sweetheart."
Tumblr media
"How do you think you did?" Eddie finished long before you. Your whole body is filled with bubbling nerves.
"I don't know," You respond, not daring to look anywhere but forward, "I feel like I'm going to faint." You murmur.
"Okay, baby." Eddie grabs your shoulders and runs his hands up and down your arms, "Take a deep breath. In... and out."
You don't care that you might be blocking the hallway—the students can find a way around you. All that matters is Eddie is helping you calm down—his hands are on you, and his head is resting on yours.
"You feelin' a little better, baby?" He asks after a few minutes.
"Feelin' a lot better."
"I'm glad."
He kisses your shoulder, and you swoon.
Tumblr media
"What's on your mind?" Eddie asks, bringing the joint to his mouth. It's a roach at this point—he still insists on smoking it.
"Nothing," You answer—he can tell you're lying. He says it, and you roll your eyes, "Eddie, I'm not lying."
"Seriously, babe." He sits up, "What's goin' on in that pretty little head of yours?"
"First off, rude." You cross your arms with a sad expression, "Second, nothing. I am literally thinking about what I'm going to have for dinner."
"Food. You're going to have food. Now, what are you actually thinking about?"
It's strange that Eddie is being so adamant about this. Usually, if you ask him to leave something alone, he'll leave it alone. It's as if he knows that you've got butterflies in every crevice of your body—that you like him—and he's trying to coax it out of you. You're unsure why.
"What are you thinking about?" You shoot back.
"Not fair. I asked you first." He pouts.
"And I asked you second." You shrug with a smug smirk.
"Yeah, so you should answer first. I should answer second." He reasons.
"I'm thinking about a person," You begin, "A boy." It's all you supply.
"A boy?" Eddie asks, suddenly growing insecure. His crush on you isn't a new thing. He was sure he was in love with you the second you said he looked like James Hetfield. He would swear on his life that he liked you the second he saw you.
"Yes, Edward, a boy. Okay, your turn. What're you thinking about?"
"Chrissy."
It's painfully apparent that you're hurt, "Chrissy? Who's Chrissy?"
Part of Eddie is happy you seem jealous. The other part of him feels terrible.
"Chrissy is the girl I went to the diner with."
You nod dramatically, "Oh, yeah. Of course. Of course."
He can't hold it in any longer, "Jealous?"
Your eyes are saucers, "What?"
"What?" He parrots.
"What makes you think I'm jealous?"
"Just a hunch," He shrugs.
"No," You cross your arms, "Why do you think I'm jealous? And what exactly am I jealous of?" You demand.
"Well, the change in body language when I said Chrissy would suggest that you are jealous. Jealous of Chrissy and I's relationship."
"One, the correct wording would be 'Chrissy and me,'" You quip—Eddie rolls his eyes, "Second, you sound ridiculous. You sound like you're stupid, but you're trying to be smart."
"Don't call me stupid," Eddie crosses his arms, "I'm brilliant. Thank you very much."
"I didn't call you stupid, Eds," You pout.
"Stop pouting," He pokes your jutted-out lip, "It makes me want to—" He cuts himself off by bringing the joint back to his lips.
"It makes you want to what?" You ask, secretly hoping the answer is what you've been wishing for.
"It makes me want to do something I shouldn't do."
"Yeah?" You smile, "Like what."
"Sweetheart," He sighs, "I have a feeling that you know. And I'm not sure why you insist on hearing it from my mouth."
"I don't know what you mean," You feign innocence.
"I think you know exactly what I mean." He whispers into your ear, and you shudder at the sudden closeness.
You turn, "C'mon, Ed's," You're so close that you're sure the butterflies will float out of your mouth and go straight in his, "Don't make me say it."
"Well, I don't want to say it, either," He mutters.
"So... where does that leave us?"
Three beats of silence go by, and a butterfly escapes when he puts his hand over yours.
"Can I kiss you?" His voice is a whisper.
"Yes."

“I can’t believe you talked me into this.” You smooth out the top of your dress as Eddie looks around seeing if he recognizes anyone. “This is the stupidest thing we’ve ever done.” You mumble as you reach into Eddie’s jacket pocket so you can grab your lipstick.
“I think the time we almost caught Harrington’s pool house on fire is still the winner for stupidest thing we’ve ever done.” You roll your eyes as Eddie smirks at you while you reapply your lipstick.
“We? That was all you Munson.” You argue as you put your lipstick back in his pocket. “You’re the one who dropped the cigaret onto the stack of towels.” You explain as you look over Eddie’s shoulder and see people gathering around the doors of the reception hall.
“You’re the one who asked me for a smoke you asshole.” He states as he messes with the collar of his dress shirt, you know he’s uncomfortable so you just reach over and unbutton the top two buttons making him let out a sigh of relief as if he can magically breathe again causing you to playfully roll your eyes.
“I still can’t believe you told her we were married.” Eddie just shrugs as he runs a hand through his hair as you fiddle with the skull ring that’s on the ring finger of your left hand. “Why couldn’t you just say we were dating? Why’d you instantly go full on marriage?” You ask as Eddie reaches over and tucks some of your hair behind your ear.
“She asked how we were doing and I just kinda blacked out and said we were doing good.” He answers as his hand lands on your hip, something you’ve gotten used to over your decade of friendship with Eddie is how unaware of personal space he is so him having a hand on you at all times feels more normal than him keeping them to himself. “She got so happy when I told her we were together. Said something about how she always knew we’d end up together or some shit so next thing you know she’s inviting us to this because it’s a celebration of love and all that bullshit.” You lightly smack his hand when he tries to bring it up to his mouth to chew on his nails, one of his nervous habits.
“Celebration of love? It’s a fucking wedding Eddie. We are at Chrissy Cunningham’s fucking wedding pretending to be married. Do you hear how crazy that sounds?” You feel his hand slide from your hip to the small of your back as he moves to stand next to you as the announcement that the bride and groom have made their entrance.
“We act like we are married all the time what’s the big deal?” He asks as you shoot him a glare.
“Not in front of people we actually know.” You snap as his hand slides a little lower making you smack his chest. “Now is not the time Edward.” Eddie just chuckles as he gives your ass a light pat before he pulls you closer into his side.
“We know exactly one person in this room sweetheart and it’s the bride so I think we’ll be okay.” You let out a huff as you feel his lips press into the side of your head, you know to everyone watching this little interaction looks like a cute moment between a couple, not two bestfriends.
“Isn’t this weird for you? You’ve loved her since like middle school and we just watched her get married and now we’re about to eat horrible food and get drunk off cheap booze at her reception.” You lean into him a little as you wrap your arm around his middle. Eddie just laughs and shakes his head making some of his hair fall into his face.
“First off it was a crush don’t be so fucking dramatic so no, it’s not weird and secondly the food might not be that bad.” You just laugh as the two of you watch Chrissy maker her way through the crowd of people, slowly getting closer to the two of you.
“So how are we playing this then? Are we newly married and still grossly in love? Or have we been married for like five years and everything you do annoys me?” You ask as Eddie’s grip on your waist tightens as Chrissy smiles at the two of you as she heads straight for you.
“A mix of both? I’m annoying but you love me.” He answers as he leans over and places a kiss to your cheek making you smile.
“I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see the two of you together.” You just smile and look at Eddie who’s already staring at you with a small smirk on his face.
“Well you know everyone has their breaking point and I think after the tenth time he asked me out I finally just had to give in to the begging.” You feel Eddie’s fingers dig into your waist as you reach over and pat his chest making Chrissy laugh.
“But look at us now honey.” You internally cringe at the petname making Eddie smile as he looks from you to Chrissy. “Happier than ever.” Chrissy just claps her hands together and lets out a little squeal and before either of you two can react she’s throwing her arms around you both.
“I just knew you two would end up together. It’s always been so obvious how perfect you two are for each other.” She gushes as she pulls away, you toss a glance over at Eddie seeing how he’s handling the situation and you feel yourself blushing when you see he’s looking at you with a small smile on his face.
“Speaking of perfect for each other, you two make a gorgeous couple. The ceremony was just lovely.” Chrissy just smiles at your kind words as she looks over her shoulder at her husband.
“He’s so cute isn’t he?” She jokes making you chuckle as you rest your hand on Eddie’s chest giving her a nice view of your ring.
“Oh he’s the cutest.” She just laughs at Eddie’s teasing and you realize she really hasn’t changed much since high school she’s still the giggly sweet girl who used to let you cheat off her in chemistry.
“Well I’ll be sure to catch up with you two later. I’ve got to finish making the rounds.” You and Eddie just smile and nod as Chrissy heads off towards another guests.
“Begging? Really? The beginning of our love story is that I begged you for a date?” Eddie asks as you both drop your arms from around each other. You mindlessly reach over and brush some of his hair out of his face as he looks around for the bar.
“What would you have preferred I said honey?” You watch a smirk take over his face making you roll your eyes, he knows how much you hate that petname.
“I don’t know maybe that you couldn’t resist my charming wit or my devilishly handsome good looks?” You bring your hand up to cover your mouth to hide your laughter as Eddie just glares at you.
“You’ve been reading too much Nora Roberts.” Eddie playfully swats your hands away as they come up to try to pinch his cheek making you laugh. You move so you’re standing in front of him and loosely wrap your arms around his neck. “If you get us some drinks I’ll be nice and tell everyone at our table we met and fell in love in a super cute cliché type of way.” Eddie’s arms snake around your waist as you try to bargain with him.
“Love at first sight?” He asks as he raises an eyebrow at you as you roll your eyes.
“Sure I’ll tell them you fell in love with me the moment you saw me.” You tease as you play with the hair at the back of his neck.
“You’re such an asshole.” He mumbles as he leans in and places a kiss to your lips. “Oh fuck sorry I didn’t warn you. This couple was staring at us so I just figured they’d look away if we were being-“ You cut off his rambling with another kiss making him smile as you pull away.
“You talk too damn much Munson.” You bring your thumb up to his mouth and wipe off some of your lipstick making him huff. “Now go get some drinks and I’ll meet you at the table.” With that his arms fall from around your waist as he scans the room looking for the bar.
“Double vodka and water?” He asks making you just nod as he reaches into his jacket pocket for your crystal light packets and lipstick.
“If this food sucks we are getting pizza on the way home.” Eddie just chuckles as you take your things from him.
“Whatever you want Mrs. Munson.” You just huff as he leans in to place a kiss to your cheek before he turns and heads for the bar and you head to your assigned table ready to put Nicholas Sparks to shame with the level of cheesiness you’re going add to the fake story about how you and Eddie met and fell in love.

How do you think Chrissy would react if you were besties and you told her you think you’re into girls and basically it ends in the two of you kissing (I think I’m slowly realizing I like girls as another girl and I just.. need some scenarios in my head🙈)
the first time you mentioned it to her, your heart would be beating out of your chest because you’re literally confessing this to your crush, even though you try to seem nonchalant. and it works.
somewhat.
truly, the only reason it works is because chrissy is internally freaking out herself. so much so she doesn’t even notice your shaking hands. i feel like she’d keep quiet about it for a while, pretending it didn’t affect her, but she also starts feeling her walls drop. your chris gets flirty and more touchy than usual, and you love it. she waited a little while enough so you didn’t even allow yourself to consider she has feelings for you. wishful thinking is your enemy. one of you guys’ sleepovers takes a turn when chrissy tells you she broke up with jason. for good.
heart racing again, hands shaking only a little less than less time, you’re anxious and maybe stuttering a little… trying to seem supportive of your friend, deep down jumping with joy that she finally left him, and chrissy would scoot closer. you two would change the subject because otherwise both of you would fall into a panic attack with how nervous you were, but you’re sitting closer than usual. completely pressed up to each other. it slowly turns into cuddling, making jokes at the movie in low voices because of how close you are, laughing into each other’s embrace, then you accidentally both turn to the other at the same time mid-giggle, and truly, how could you expect chrissy not to close the gap? you’re too pretty. it’s your fault.
you sigh into it, so chrissy doesn’t really feel any guilt.

Chrissy Cunningham x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 816
Warnings: A bit of language, partial nudity, making out, they watch an erotic film (nothing is described)
Summary: Chrissy has always had a crush on you, and it all comes out when the two of you have a sleepover.
Taglist: @gg-is-a-loser @yesshewrites1
Chrissy had never slept over at your house before. She’d slept over at Emily’s house, and Laura’s house, and even Stephanie Wilson’s—but never yours. You were different—she didn’t get flustered when Emily changed clothes in front of her, or when Laura called her platonic pet names. She didn’t blush when Stephanie gave her a hug.
She didn’t feel that way about Emily, Laura, or Stephanie. Not the way she felt about you.
She tried to argue when you suggested she spend the night. “I wouldn’t want to intrude,” she insisted, “I’m sure you don’t have enough space for me.”
“Oh, no, honey, don’t worry about it, we can just share my bed.”
Chrissy turned bright red. “O-o-okay then.”
You smiled, tossing her a pair of pajama bottoms. “Here, you can wear these. You can change into ‘em while I take out my contacts.”
Chrissy blinked. “C—You wear contacts?”
You laughed nervously. “Yeah, I have terrible vision. Contacts are such a pain but I hate how glasses look on me, so I usually deal with the hassle when I’m going out.”
Chrissy swallowed as you walked into the bathroom. She didn’t know why the thought of you in glasses made her so nervous—plenty of people wore glasses, it was just a normal thing. It was just… it was you. You in glasses. You must look so cute in glasses! And sexy, and—Chrissy, stop thinking, she scolded herself.
You came out of the bathroom and Chrissy tried her best to appear casual. Gosh, she’s hot with glasses on. She turned bright red and looked away from you, clearing her throat.
“Your, uh, your glasses are cute,” she managed, examining her perfectly manicured nails. And you are too—CHRISSY SHUT UP.
You giggled, sitting on the bed next to her. “Thanks, Chris. You’re cute too.” You booped her nose.
Chrissy let out a strangled noise she couldn’t quite stifle.
You pulled away in concern. “Are you okay?”
Chrissy’s eyes widened and she covered her face in mortification. “Oh, gosh, that was embarrassing,” she mumbled.
You laughed, and pulled her hands away from her face. “Don’t worry, Chrissy, I’m not gonna make fun of you.” You kissed her nose and walked over to your closet.
Chrissy fell back onto your bed, covering the probably-red heat on her face with her hands.
“So, how’s cheer going?” you asked, pulling out a t-shirt and beginning to strip down.
Chrissy froze at the sight of your bare back and cleared her throat, unable to look away. “G-good! It—it’s been good.”
“That’s great!” You turned around and Chrissy got a flash of your tits before you pulled the t-shirt over your head. She could barely breathe. You plopped down next to her with a big smile, the shirt riding up to reveal pink lacy panties. “Wanna watch Blood and Roses?”
She tilts her head. “I’ve never heard of that one.”
“Oh, it’s so good, we have to watch it.” You got up and fished for the tape in the box under your T.V. “It’s a sixties movie about vampires, you’ll love it.” You found what you were looking for and held it up triumphantly before slipping it into the player.
Chrissy swallowed. “Is it—is it scary?”
You nodded your head from side to side in a “so-so” motion. “Eh, kind of. It’s mostly just really sexy.” You grinned slyly before leaping back up next to her.
Chrissy swallowed again and watched the movie with wide eyes. Oh, gosh, she realized quickly, this is lesbian erotica.
She watched the film attentively, watching Carmilla and Georgia do things she wished she could do with you.
It ended and Chrissy was left feeling hot and dizzy. You looked over at her, grinning expectantly, but your smile dropped when you saw her expression. “Are you okay?”
Her eyes widened and her mouth opened, but she couldn’t think of anything to say. Before she could stop herself, she was grabbing your face in her hands and kissing you passionately. You gasped against her lips before kissing her back, tangling your hands in her hair and letting her push you down onto your bed.
Kissing you was like nothing she’d ever experienced before—it was nothing like Jason, or Michael, or Christopher, or any guy she’d kissed before. Gosh, it was so much better. You were so much better.
“Gods, Chrissy, I’ve been in love with you for years,” you told her breathlessly once you broke apart.
“Really?” she asked shyly, her tone a stark contrast from the hot desire she’d shown just moments before.
“Of course, Chris.” You leaned up and kissed her neck, trailing up her jaw and finishing with a soft peck to her cheek.
Chrissy giggled breathlessly, collapsing against you and nuzzling the crook of your neck. “You look so hot with glasses on.”
You laughed, rubbing her shoulder. “Thanks, Chrissy. You look hot no matter what.”

Come Hell or High Water.
Pairing: Eddie Munson x (female) Reader
Summary: Y/N and Eddie come up with “Dare Cards” that can be redeemed at any point before graduation, but they only get three each. What will each of those cards be used for? Read to find out…
Warnings: This story is filled with just fun shenanigans all the way from start to the end of dare # 4. After then? It’s full of angst and a lot of cussing/sadness, so read at your own risk. There’s no major character death, just the risk of it. Situations were taken from the show’s story but altered to have a happy ending for Eddie. This is just kinda fluffy/angsty content. Unless you count a couple of curse words as needing a warning? Idk, I haven’t written fanfics in like 8 years so I’m a little rusty, be nice to me please <3.
Note/Request: Anonymous. “Hi! If your requests are still open - i have this idea. Eddie and reader are best friends and at the beginning of the year they came up with "dare cards". Basically it's like truth or dare but each has a certain number of cards that they can hand to the other whenever they want and dare them do to something and they cannot deny (example: reader handing a card to Eddie and daring him to address the whole cafeteria like in the scene). The reader uses the last card when they're in the upside down, daring Eddie to stay alive and eddie uses his to dare the reader to kiss him. (and please, reject canon, i need happy ending) Sorry if it's chaotic, hopefully it's understandable enough! Thank you.”
Word Count: 5.4k
Send me prompts to write about!
“So, how many of these things do we get?” you ask, voice full of intrigue when Eddie was sat in the back of the library with you, explaining his new game that he came up with for the two of you.
“I’d say maybe three should be good. We can always come up with more if we run out too quickly.” Eddie explains, cards splayed out across the table in front of you both whilst he grins.
Eddie had just finished explaining these new “Dare Cards” that you both were going to use whenever you felt like it to keep your senior year interesting. You each got three cards, and you could trade them in with the other person to get them to do whatever you wanted. A few rules: Nothing illegal, nothing against the other person’s morals, nothing that would put the other person in harm’s way, and no one else could be included in your dare.
You agreed to the terms as it sounded like it could be a blast. They weren’t really cards as such, they were just six of your flash cards that Eddie had stolen and scribbled “DARE CARD” across them. Pocketing your three whilst he did the same for his own, smug grin on his face whilst you both shook hands to agree to the deal.
“This is gonna be fun… Shit.” He snorts a laugh.
----
Dare #1
You were sitting at lunch with your friends in the Hellfire Club, the room was loud, and you were becoming jaded from the amount of annoyance that the jocks and cheerleaders brought you. Every single day was the same, the basketball team would be harassing some poor kid for lunch money or just for their own amusement, and the cheerleaders would be making snide comments about anyone who walks past them. Unfortunately, due to the nature of High School, a lot of the drama and attention was directed to your group of friends, everyone seemed to have a problem with the nerds who stuck together and minded their own business. It didn’t take long for you to hit your limit, especially when Jason walked past your table, bumping into Eddie intentionally and mumbling a not so subtle “Freak” to him before going to sit with his fellow meatheads.
Screwing your brows together in pure disgust at the unadulterated sight of Jason coming in close contact with your best friend, Eddie wasn’t even phased by his words. You were. Looking to Eddie, you fetched one of the cards from your pocket and slam it on the table in front of him, making him jump slightly at the sudden noise. His gaze flickering from the card to your face, then back down to the card, brow raising in question as he wanted you to explain what the dare was. Arms folding across his chest as he leant back on his chair slightly to give you space to announce the dare to his eager ears.
“I dare you to work your Munson Charm and piss off that dickhead.”
Snatching the card from the table, he pockets it with pride before clearing his throat and crackling his ring clad knuckles, he was going to look forward to stirring the pot, it was more of an honour and privilege rather than a dare.
Hopping up onto the table like he owned the place, he’s grinning with pride as suddenly all attention was on him, voice projecting towards Jason even though he would look at each clique’s table in turn whilst he called them out.
“We’re the freaks because we like to play a fantasy game, but as long as you’re into band or science or… parties…” Eddie altered his voice to become an octave higher and far more nasaly, causing your table to snicker and someone from the other table to flip Eddie off, “or a game where you toss balls into laundry baskets!” Eddie cupped his lips and projected his voice right at Jason, smirking as the blonde rose to his feet and tried to act tough.
“You want something, freak?!” Jason threatened.
Eddie moved his hands to either side of his head, poking out his index fingers like horns and sticking out his tongue, impersonating the devil with an accompanying growling noise, causing your table to burst into laughter whilst Jason seemed more pissed off than before.
“Prick…” he mumbled, sitting back with his jocks, and ignoring Eddie entirely.
“It’s forced conformity, that’s what’s killing the kids,” Eddie yells out the last part of his sentence, spooking those around him and causing them to shuffle away from him faster than before, he sits back down, shoving some pretzels into his mouth, “that’s the real monster.”
You shake your head from side to side in disbelief that he actually spoke up like that, you’re unsure why you’re surprised as it was both in his nature and a dare he had to comply with anyway.
Eddie reaches out his hand in your direction, instigating a subtle fist bump before winking at you, you just roll your eyes with a fond smile and continue eating your lunch together.
----
Dare #2
Dustin and Mike dropped into their seats with a miserable look on their faces at the start of the latest Hellfire Club meetup, both of them avoiding looking directly at the older members as they weren’t having a good day.
“Anyone gonna tell me why you two look like that, or?” Eddie queried.
They huff, looking at one another before Dustin caved and took one for the team, sitting up and looking over at Eddie with a sad little look on his face,
“Jason and Patrick stole our Walkie Talkie earlier…” he frowned, looking down at his hands as stammered through his words.
They had pinned both Dustin and Mike up against their lockers earlier, mocked them and made sure to steal their Walkie Talkie before walking off to basketball practise. They were used to having names hurled their way, but physical assault and robbery were situations they didn't want to get used to experiencing.
Eddie was seething, no one laid hands on his friends. He rose to his feet, kicking his chair back behind him and out of the way with such intensity that it screeched across the floorboards. Looking around for less than a second before his gaze landed upon one of the rusty wrenches that was left behind by some janitor at some point. Swiping it, he’s wielding it like a weapon and already a little red in the face with anger.
“Where are those useless sons of bitches?!” he demanded.
Dustin and Mike were on edge, they didn’t usually see Eddie get like this, not really. Sure, he might get a bit peeved during a game or annoyed at something someone said, but this rage? That was new to them. Quick on his feet, Dustin stood and raised his hands out towards Eddie apprehensively, doing his best to calm him down.
“Eddie… Eddie, relax… It’s okay… Don’t do anything stupid, you won’t be able to graduate if you’re caught smashing their faces in!” Dustin pleaded, causing Eddie to close his eyes and intake a long and deep breath before letting the wrench clammer loudly on the table as he dropped it.
“Where’s Y/N?” he demanded, to which they quickly explained that you were in your after-school art club until six pm.
Without a warning, Eddie stormed off out of the Hellfire Club meeting, down the hall in the direction of your club, leaving a small collection of confused nerds starting blindly into the direction Eddie had travelled in, unsure on what his plan was.
“Y/N? Get out here, now.” His voice was serious, having already captured the attention of the room as he slammed the door open, causing it to bounce against the inside wall. You rarely saw him like this, so put down your paints, excused yourself and rushed out to the hall to speak with him.
“What’s wron—” was all you could get out before Eddie spoke over you, pacing back and forth in front of you as he’s putting his hands behind his head to try and calm down.
“Henderson and Wheeler got mugged by that prick Jason… They stole their Walkie Talkie. I was going to knock some sense into him but I can’t risk getting suspended, can you—”
It was your turn to interrupt “Eddie, I am not going to beat up some jocks?! What do you think this is,--” he interrupted tou again.
“Jesus Christ, no! I’m not asking you to do that?! I was going to cash in my dare card and get you to sneak in and steal it back from them! Its in their changing room locker apparently and they’re at practise so I need you to snatch it back!” Eddie huffed, turning to face you.
Eyes wide, you let out a soft “oh…” before realising that he needed you for your stealth and not for your muscle, nodding in agreement with a silent understanding that he would trade the card at a later date.
“I’m gonna go back to the group, meet us when you have the device. Thank you, and good luck.” He states, marching back in the direction he came from, leaving you a little shell shocked in the process.
You immediately scurry off in the direction of the gym, the sound of shoes screeching on the flooring paired with various guys’ names being called inside solidified the fact that they were still busy. That bought you a little time to break into the lockers and get the device back for your younger friends. Sneaking into the changing rooms, you hold your nose and gag a little at the smell, gross. Boys were gross. Tiptoeing around the corner until you get to the locker with Jason’s name on it, pulling out a bobby pin from your hair and bending it about slightly, checking over your shoulder every couple of seconds as you picked the lock.
“Yes!” you squeal, before silently cursing yourself for being so loud, the padlock falling to the floor as you jiggle the handle, cranking the door open to the locker. Thankfully the device was sat beside his pile of clothes, you snatched it up and slammed the locker closed. On second thought, you ripped the door back open and stole all of Jason’s clean clothes in the process. Slamming the door shut again before scurrying out of the locker room and back down the hall to Hellfire, heart pounding in your chest as you ran.
Colliding with the door, you stumble into the room with red cheeks and a light sweat on your forehead, panting with a tired smile on your face as you held the walkie talkie triumphantly in the air.
“Someone looking for this?” you tease, happily passing it over to Henderson as he repeatedly thanked you for returning it, only giving you a weird look when he noticed the bundle of clothes under your arm.
“Uh… Whose clothes are they?” he questioned.
“Jason’s. Consider y’all even.” You smiled, dumping Jason’s clothing in the janitor’s closet attached to the room, a place he would never think to find them.
“Well played, Y/L/N. Well played.” Eddie just looked at you with such pride, clapping his hands together slowly and smirking at you.
----
Dare #3
“Pleeeeeease Eddie, please….” You pleaded, a big childish pout on your face as you held out the magazine clipping in your hands, showing him that Kate Bush was going on tour and would be coming to Hawkins.
“No, Y/N.” he said simply, shaking his head in between sipping at his chocolate milk, he had no interest in taking you to see this concert.
“Please… You’re the only one old enough to come with me that has their own car, please…. Eddie. C’mon, please!” you beg, looking at him with wide eyes.
He glanced up at you, lifting just one brow before his stern expression showed that he wasn’t going to be changing his mind, at least not willingly.
“No, I don’t even like that music.” He said simply, shrugging.
“What you listen to isn’t music! It’s just angry guitar sounds!” you whine, slamming the magazine down on the counter in front of him like a spoiled child of some kind.
“What would you call music then, hm?!” he challenged.
“Madonna, Blondie, Bowie, Beatles, music! Real music!” you cry out in frustration, voice becoming higher as you became more stressed out by Eddie’s judgemental gaze.
Snatching up a cassette tape nearby that had Metallica’s album cover on the front, shaking it in front of your face in annoyance “This is music!” Eddie yelled, voice cracking as he did so.
You both stare at each other for a couple seconds, breathing heavily as you’d seemingly met the crescendo of the argument. Sitting back in your seats, folding your arms across your chest whilst Eddie did the same, sat in silence until you find yourself smirking.
“I dare you to come to the Kate Bush concert with me.” You say, reaching into your nearby bag and tugging out your second Dare Card, slamming it on the table on top of the magazine. Only one card remained in your possession after this, so you needed to use it wisely.
“Son of a bitch!” Eddie cries out, face falling into his hands in defeat.
----
Dare #4
Eddie was doodling on the back of your forearm whilst he was zoned out and beyond bored during Math class, his ballpoint pen drawing bats on your skin, ones that almost perfectly resemble his own tattoo. A smile present on your face as you watched him draw, his tongue poking out as he was laser focused on getting them right.
“Looking good, Munson.” You teased, admiring his work whilst he sat back and gave his nod of approval.
“You should get it tattooed.” He mutters, not thinking much of it.
“Oh yeah? And with what money, hm?” you challenge, he knew that both of you were broke high school students, you didn’t have the funds to go to a reputable parlour and get tattoos professionally done.
“I can do it?” he offers, looking up at you before attempting to seem interested in whatever the teacher was rambling on about.
“Wait, really?” you ask.
He nods, he had the equipment back at his trailer, it wasn’t exactly up to code or maybe even legal, but he could get the job done. You seem unsure, not sold on the idea of being tattooed, especially by someone without their license, not wanting to get an infection or even worse, punished by your parents.
“I dare you..” he announces in a soft song-like voice, causing you to grunt out in disapproval at his timing of using that card.
“Ugh, fine!” you cave, focusing on the class until the bell rung.
Back at his trailer after school, Eddie had tied his bandana around his head to keep the hair away from his eyes, ratty old gloves on his hands as you were sat at his dining room table. A mess of ink and paper towels thrown about the place as your arm was extended towards him and he had stencilled the design onto your forearm.
“You sure about this?” he asks, seeing you with your eyes closed and head tilted back, clearly you weren’t relaxed in the slightest. But you nod, a dare is a dare, giving him the go ahead as he started up the machine, the dull buzzing filled the room as he leant in, doing the first couple lines.
You hiss and wince at the scratching pain it brought to your skin, trying your best to stay as still as possible whilst he took your tattoo virginity, the only saving grace about this being that you would match with your best friend. A little lightheaded as time went on, doing your best to distract yourself as he finished up the design, wiping your arm clean and covering it in wrap to keep it clean.
“All done” he announces proudly, you tilt your head down and look at the design on your arm. It was a little wobbly, but it was cute. It was a cute tattoo and had a nice story to go alongside with it, you didn’t regret your decision in the slightest.
“Okay. That’s actually pretty cute…” you confessed, a smug grin on his lips as he packed away the machine and washed his hands once he was done.
“Thank you, m’lady.” Eddie smiles.
----
Dare #5
Things had gotten crazy since you and Eddie last played the dare game, like… Really crazy. An alternative dimension opening up and people being cursed and murdered in the sky level of crazy. It’s safe to say that your little game wasn’t priority right now, having way more life-threatening things you had to deal with as a community. Like at present? You were currently in the Upside Down with Steve, Nancy, Eddie, and your new friend Robin, and earlier? You were communicating to Dustin, Lucas, and Erica through the god damn lights.
You had already had to dive headfirst into Water Gate, fight off a swarm of demon bats (those of which attacked Steve so badly that he was limping about with a chunk taken out of his side) and almost got crushed to death each time the earth shook and sent rocks and rubble flying all overt the place. Let’s just say, it wasn’t an ideal time to bring up your little game right now.
After Dustin, the little genius, worked out that there would be a portal at every murder site, you and the gang hauled ass and pedalled over to Eddie’s alternate trailer as fast as you possibly could. One by one, you climbed the sheets up into the ceiling, falling through the portal and landing safely on the mattress the other side. You all hugged and rejoiced in the fact you were safe before gearing up the next portion of the plan. Weapons. Y’all needed weapons.
It all ramped up from there. You hotwired an RV, drove across Hawkins, got all the weapons you could possibly imagine, drove back across town, made a plan, climbed back through the portal and this is where you currently were. Dressed head to toe in battle gear, weapons in each hand as your group stood in a circle, tensions were high, and you had to be smart about this. You knew your role, you were to split off with Steve, Nancy, and Robin, you had to fight and kill Vecna. Eddie and Dustin were going to become the diversion to buy you more time, that was the plan.
Right as the group started to part ways, you felt a horrible twinge in the pit of your stomach. Excusing yourself with the promise of being quick, you rushed off back towards Dustin and Eddie, voice a little shaken and tears in your eyes. Grabbing Eddie, you wrapped your arms tightly around his shoulders and hide your face in his neck, squeezing him impossibly tight before pulling away.
“I dare you to successfully distract the bats and then come back through this portal a hero, do you hear me, Munson?” you demanded, a few tears slipping down your face as he looks at you.
Brought into his arms, you let out a few sniffles as he held you close, accepting the dare and promising to come back to you in one piece the second this was over. You whisper a “be careful…” into his ear before you part ways, pulling away at the last possible second to have one last glimpse at him before you run back to Steve and the girls. You had a mission to complete after all…
Whilst you were off fighting Venca, Eddie and Dustin were distracting the bats away from your group, so they didn’t attack. Standing on top of the RV, Eddie shredded an impressive guitar solo of Master of Puppets by Metallica, all the bats swarming their way as planned. It didn’t take long, but the guy’s traded instruments for weapons and charged full force down into the safety of the RV. Bats swarming now, they rushed to the portal as Dustin successfully climbed through, Eddie started to climb before deciding against it and dropping back down, swiping the sheets clean off and severing the ties between the dimensions.
“Eddie, what are you doing?!” Dustin screamed, eyes full of tears.
“Buying some more time…” he confessed, grabbing his weapons again and charging out of the RV on his bike, Dustin screaming protests in the background as Eddie persevered.
Whilst this was going on, your group had successfully defeated Vecna, freeing those in his possession from the wretched curse, all battered and bruised as you stumbled one by one back to the portal. Clueless as to the shambles that had occurred in your absence, calling on the walkie talkie to try and get Dustin to fill you in on what’s going on, heart racing as Eddie and Dustin were nowhere to be seen.
Dustin had slithered back into the Upside Down in hopes of rescuing Eddie, screaming, and crying as he fought off the swarm of bats in aid of his defenceless friend who was bleeding out on the floor.
“Stay back, assholes! Get out of here!” he screamed, pain in his voice as Eddie was coughing up blood just mere steps away from him. Swinging his sword and stabbing any bat that dared to come near him, it’s only when you had broken the curse that the bats retreated. Dustin had a moment of silence to assess the situation, dropping to his knees and trying to help Eddie up from the floor.
“Oh, thank god…” Dustin whimpered when he saw that Eddie was still breathing, eyes darting all over his body as he tried to get a gauge of the damage, “shit…” he mumbled.
“That bad, huh?” Eddie asks, sputtering up blood as he spoke.
“No, no, you’re gonna be fine, we just need to get you to a hospital, okay?” Dustin stuttered, doing his best to help the older guy at least sit up, causing him to wince and curse in pain.
After a moment’s silence, the pair looked at each other, both crying as Eddie tried his best to force a weak smile.
“I didn’t run away this time, right?” he mumbled.
“No, you didn’t run…” Dustin’s voice breaking, shaking his head.
“You’re gonna have to look after those little sheep for me, okay?” he sputtered, breathing heavily as he tried to fight through the pain that ripped through his body.
“No, you’re gonna do that yourself…” Dustin argued, shaking beside him.
“Nah, man. Say I’m gonna look after them. Say it” Eddie insisted.
After a couple of seconds, Dustin caved, his voice full of heartbreak as he mumbled “I’m gonna look after them…” to Eddie.
Eddie looked up at him, wide eyed and broken smile on his face as he gasped a little, “Good, this is it. I’m actually gonna graduate… I think its my year Henderson, its finally my year…” he took a breath, looking into the eyes of Dustin as he sighed, “I love you man..”
“I love you too.” Dustin whispered as Eddie slowly faded away in his arms, causing the younger boy to burst into tears, repeatedly calling out his name and trying his best to shake him and keep him conscious.
Looking around hopelessly for anything or anyone to help him, struggling to find any sort of solution, causing him to hiccup through his sobs.
“Dustin?! Eddie?!” Steve screamed out, stopping in his tracks at the sight of Henderson sobbing on the ground and holding Eddie, sprinting the best he could towards the pair to offer assistance.
Together they fumbled to lift Eddie’s unconscious body from the floor, wincing in pain as they were all covered in cuts and bruises, soaking their clothing in blood as they went. Steve somehow mustered up the strength to carry Eddie over his shoulder back towards the trailer, not giving letting himself think too much of it, working on pure adrenaline.
Dustin ran ahead, looking for anything they could find that would make it easier to get Eddie back through the portal, screaming for you and the other girls to get them to help. They manged to find a ladder from the garage and propped it up so that Steve could ascend the ladder carrying Eddie, and you and the girls could climb up the other end and stumble to take the weight of the body back through to Hawkins.
Once you were all through the other side, Steve rushed to grab the van, helping you all get into the car along with making sure Eddie was held as he sped all the way to the hospital. You were all in tears, obviously, Eddie’s head in your lap as you cried over him, your face buried in his hair as you kept your fingers against the side of his throat to make sure he always had a pulse. It was weak, but it was there.
“I dared you to stay alive… Don’t leave me now, please…” you silently beg to him, even though he can’t hear you. Sobbing into his hair whilst pressing kisses to his forehead, unable to do anything but fear the worst.
At the hospital, Robin ran inside with Nancy and grabbed as many nurses as they possibly could, they came bundling out with various stretchers and aid to get you all inside. Robin and Nancy just had a few scrapes and cuts cleaned up, you had your ankle bandaged up as you had sprained it when you fell earlier on, Dustin was currently being looked at, Steve had had his torso numbed whilst he received stitches and Eddie was in emergency surgery.
Your small group waited in the waiting room for hours and hours, pacing and recalling the night, all of you either in tears or hysterics from the pain and the adrenaline. Worried about Eddie and just praying to whatever twisted God that was out there, that he would pull through.
----
Dare #6
“Y/N?” Eddie croaked, voice raw and almost inaudible.
Your head snapped up in shock, wide eyed as you saw the broken man lying in his hospital bed, chained up to all these various machines that beeped annoyingly. It had been a couple of weeks since the incident and Eddie had been unconscious ever since, stable, but unconscious. He required a lot of surgery, so he had been put into a medically induced coma to ensure he had the best chance at fighting this. He was going to be covered in scars for the rest of his life, but no one cared about that, he was alive and that was all that mattered to anyone.
Rushing over to his bedside, you grasp his hand and squeeze it. Partially to comfort him, but mostly to convince yourself that this was real. Pressing an abundance of kisses to the back of his hand as you sniffle.
“E-Eddie…” you sigh, bursting into tears once again before bringing him into a tight hug, it’s only when he coughs and winces that you back off slightly. Still holding him, just reminding yourself that he was going to be fragile for a while.
“Hey, Y/L/N…” he mumbles, doing his best to hug you back but it was clear he was in too much pain for that, you didn’t blame him.
“Oh my god, thank god you’re okay.. You had me so worried, I thought… You were lifeless in my arms, Eddie, I thought I lost you.” You whimper pathetically as you recall him being slumped and bleeding out in your lap.
“You dared me to stay alive, what did you expect?” he attempts to joke.
“Not fucking funny, Munson. What the hell were you playing at?! You knew the plan, you made up the plan, why the fuck did you run back out there and do such a god damn stupid thing?!” all of the emotions were bubbling over. Rage, fear, relief, everything came out at once as you had to bite your tongue to avoid cursing him out.
“I was buying more time…” he defended.
“You could have died, Eddie!” you yelled, the room fell silent.
“You could have died. Okay? And Henderson and Harrington could have died too trying to get back out there and save you, what the hell were you thinking?” you ask, voice cold.
It took a couple of minutes before he answered you, looking at him for the first time since you had raised your voice, his face looked broken and devastated.
“Henderson came to get me?” his eyes filling with tears.
“Yes, Eddie! He came running to your defence the second you were in trouble, do you not remember that?” you question.
Shaking his head, he bites down on the side of his thumb, eyes canning the room as he avoided looking your way. “I… The last thing I remember is being eaten alive by bats….” He winces at the memory.
“He’s still traumatised by it. He came rushing out to save you, you fell limp in his arms, and he thought you had died. He thought he had just watched his big brother die in his arms.” You heard Eddie sniffle at that.
“I just… I didn’t want to run anymore, you know? I was trying to help… I was trying to be a hero like I always wanted to have the guts to be…” voice full of regret as he mumbled.
“You will always be a hero to that kid, Eddie! He worships you, but my god, don’t you ever do something that stupid ever again, you hear me? He needs you! We all need you! I… I need you…” you feel the tears threatening to bubble over once again, his hand delicately squeezing your palm to comfort you.
“Hey… Look at me.” He whispers, you eventually get the courage to look up at him, he offers you a weak smile as he squeezes your hand once more, “I’m sorry, okay? I really thought I was doing a good thing, and I’m sorry… I promise, no more being the hero, yeah?”
A weak laugh comes from you both as you drop his hand in favour of wrapping him in another hug, squeezing him tight and this time he didn’t protest it.
“I’ve never been happier to hear those words” you mumble, squeezing him close and hiding your face in the curve of his neck whilst he tried to weakly hold you close for a hug.
“Y’know, I have one more card…” Eddie said, voice soft as you pulled back to look at him, “Can I cash that in now?”
“Right now?” you ask in disbelief, wiping your wet cheeks with the back of your hand to clear away some of the tears, not understanding why he could be thinking of a silly game at a time like this. He’s nodding his head to show that he was serious, so you sigh and make it known that he can say it.
“I dare you to kiss me” he says bluntly, causing you to let out a noise that can only be described as pure confusion and shock.
“E-Excuse me?” you whisper, not grasping where this came from.
“Please… I just… I nearly lost you, you know? I can’t have that happen again, I can’t… I can’t put you through that again… I just want to be able to protect you, care for you, keep you safe and make sure you feel loved and needed. I want to make you feel the way that you make me feel, Y/N. Please… Please, just let me kiss you.” He rambled.
It was a spur of the moment thing, simply grabbing his cheeks in your hands and slamming your lips together in a desperate and passionate kiss, a kiss that showed you had missed him, that you needed him, that you loved him. A kiss that showed him that he was home. He was safe.
He winced from the cut lip, and you winced from slightly bashing your noses together but neither of you cared or stopped the kiss, it caused you both to break down crying as you were overcome with emotions as you reconnected. Resting your foreheads together as you were short of breath, doing more sobbing than kissing, keeping your hands on his face to make sure he couldn’t slip away again.
“I fucking love you, Y/N Y/L/N.” he whispered proudly.
Without missing a beat, you whisper back “I love you too.”

It had been weeks since that night at Eddie’s. Weeks since you had told Eddie what you felt, weeks since you had talked to him at all, weeks since you had sat at the same lunch table as Eddie or attended a Hellfire meeting. It had been weeks since the last time you talked to Eddie and he seemed to be doing just fine.
Eddie was still performing his theatrics in the hallways and in the cafeteria. He was still going toe-to-toe with Jason and his lackeys. But worst of all was all of the new things that Eddie seemed to be doing now that you were out of the picture.
Now that you were not around to go to Hellfire meetings and sitting at the lunch table with the guys, Chrissy had taken up residence. She was the one sat next to Eddie laughing at the things that he did and said. She was the one who sat next him in the woods during his deals. She was the one who was sitting front row at the Hideout watching Eddie in his element. And the nail in the coffin for you was the fact that the pair were the talk of the school. There wasn’t a place you could go without hearing about Eddie and Chrissy and how cute the two were together.
It made you want to scream.
Tumblr media
“Hey Y/N,” you heard from down the hall. Turning towards the voice you saw Dustin Henderson making his way towards you.
It wasn’t that you had an issue with Dustin, quite the opposite actually. Since he had been coming to Hellfire meetings and hanging around Eddie he had quickly become your favorite newbie. He was funny and witty in a way that had your sides hurting from laughter most of the time. You and Eddie had adopted the boy as your younger brother rather quickly, hardly spending any time after school without the freshman. But since the incident with you and Eddie you had seen about as much of Dustin as you had of Eddie.
You sighed as the boy got closer. Shutting your locker as he stopped next to you. Dustin had a smile on his face when you turned to him. But upon seeing the worn down expression on your face, the corners of his mouth dropped slightly. Dustin had grown fond of you in the time he had been friends with Eddie and seeing you upset was not something he particularly enjoyed.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his original question dying on his tongue.
You looked down at the younger boy and shrugged. “I’m fine, as much as I can be.”
“What does that mean? Is that why you haven’t been coming to Hellfire?”
You shook your head, trying to clear the millions of racing thoughts that were swirling around in your head. The whole thing was so complicated that you weren’t sure how to even begin telling the younger boy what was wrong.
“It’s a long story Dustin,” you turned away from the boy and began to walk down the hallway.
You hoped that he wouldn’t follow you. Knowing that if he did you would end up breaking down and telling him what had happened between you and Eddie. And you could not guarantee that he would comfort you, for all you knew he was going to take Eddie’s side. Further cutting you off from the group of friends you had.
“He’s taking her to prom.” Dustin exclaimed. Stopping you in your tracks as the words rang in your ears.
You slowly turned to face the younger boy. Your heart heavy in your chest as you did, recalling how Eddie had shot down the idea of prom months ago when you had brought up wanting to go. He had claimed it would be too ‘conformist’ of him to go and it would go against everything that he believed in. you had accepted it back then, but now…. It hurt.
“What?” the word got caught in your throat as it tightened with unshed tears.
“He’s taking her to prom and I think it’s getting real serious.” Dustin tried again. He was hoping that it would get you out of the daze you were in.
Again your heart clenched. It hurt to hear about how well Eddie and Chrissy were doing, especially when you were so far outside of the loop now. But you couldn’t blame anyone but yourself.
You sighed, “Well that’s good for them. I hope they’re happy.”
Finally you were able to walk away from Dustin. Tears welling in your eyes and falling as you rounded the corner to find solace in the first empty classroom that you saw.
You were finally able to find a classroom. The lights were shut off and the door partially cracked. You listened for a moment, trying to see if anyone else had found the empty room and decided to take advantage of it. When you didn’t hear anything you slowly pushed the door open and finally felt comfortable enough to let the first stream of tears fall down your cheeks.
As the door swung open and the light from the hallway filtered into the room. As you wiped the tears from your eyes you finally looked into the room. Thus, finally noticing that the room was previously occupied before you had found it. It was occupied by the two people who you were trying your hardest to get away from.
Standing in the middle of the room, oblivious to the fact that the door had been opened were Eddie and Chrissy. Chrissy was sitting on the edge of a desk, caged in by Eddie leaning against her. They were locked in a passionate make out session, her hands making a mess of Eddie’s already wild curls and his hands were slowly making their way under her cheer skirt.
The sight left you frozen in the doorway for a moment. Your mind was racing at the sight in front of you, cementing what you had heard from Dustin. It’s getting real serious. After another beat you quickly turned on your heel and ran. You ran down the hall and out a side door, no true destination in mind. You just needed to get away.

Autumn with Chrissy is....
🍁 Collect leaves to press in books.
🍁 Organizing matching costumes for halloween.
🍁 Dates to local sports games and watching people play baseball in the park.
🍁 Playfully chasing each other through the woods, tripping and rolling down the hill into a pile of leaves and just laughing your little hearts out.
🍁 Chrissy stealing your jackets, sweaters and sweats to wear or knock around in.
🍁 Her shuffling around happily in your bathrobe and a nice hot cup of cinnamon tea.
🍁 Her inviting way too many people over for Thanksgiving, but she gives you this little pout that you can't say no to.
🍁 Walking hand in hand down the block looking at everyone's Halloween decorations.
🍁 Dancing until your feet hurt at the Halloween party.
🍁 Getting coffee to go and going on a window shopping date to look at all the new fall fashion.
🍁 Making each other matching necklaces out of acorn tops.
🍁 Whisking her away from her vile mother for the holidays.
🍁 Her helping herself to your jacket while you're still wearing it, she just tried to button or zip herself up in it with you.
🍁 Sleepy snuggles under a blanket while you play with her hair, and she listens to your heartbeat.

thinking about how cute being chrissy’s gf would be. almost every time you came over, she would want to do your hair or makeup.
“just for fun!” she would say, her wide eyes blinking up at you. of course, you’d let her. how could you ever say no?
her parents probably wouldn’t approve of it, so you two played it off as being really close friends, until you were both old enough to have moved out and not be so dependent on your parents.
totally would love to cuddle. she may seem small, but she runs unbelievably hot in her sleep, so expect to sleep with one leg out of the blanket.
literally crying about this rn
