I think it’s be funny to have a Spider-Man that is genuinely just a kid, not like a teenager or a kid who understands the gravity of his abilities but a kid who does heroics simply because that’s cool to a kid.
The gimmick is that the villains think it’s a gimmick and Spider-Man(?) fucks with them by acting like a kid to make ‘em feel bad or embarrass them only for them to realize he’s a literal child due to a forced team up where they like offer him a brewski afterwards and he’s legitimately like “Mr I am 9 years old, I just do this cause my aunt can’t take me to the park every afternoon.” And they grill him on adult things and he sits there just blanking cause he’s fucking 9.

You are currently reading chapter 7 of The Roommate Series
The first thing you noticed when you pulled the fresh and clean laundry out of the dryer was Simon’s jacket that you had snagged off the floor shortly after he had left early in the morning just a few days ago. You had debated on whether you would be able to handle washing it but the thought of leaving his bloody clothes in his hamper, sitting there as a reminder of what could’ve happened, made you want to throw up.
You had spent the last few days working the blood out of it, his shirt unfortunately unable to be saved, because you were determined to save this one piece of clothing of his. You weren’t sure why, you knew that he most likely would’ve tossed it, you’re sure he's done that with many of his clothes for the same reason, but you didn’t want it to come to that.
The jacket itself seemed pretty worn and though this was the first time you had gotten a proper look at it, your recognized that this was the jacket he always wore when he left to go to work. There wasn’t much to it, it seemed like a pretty standard coat, rain resistant that had a hood and enough layers to keep him warm, and it even had velcro patches on the arm where you had to rip off a UK flag from.
You inspected it, making sure that the stain was truly gone and nearly smiled to yourself when you saw that there wasn’t a trace of it, before your finger poked through a hole on the fabric.
Your stomach dropped and you dared to look at the hole as you fought back against the pit in your stomach.
Part of you couldn’t believe that he had been stabbed with the full intention for him to not be able to walk back through your front door. There had been so much blood from something so violent, so traumatic and yet you were holding the jacket as if that were something completely normal.
It was normal. Normal for Simon but something completely alien to you.
Over the past few days, you hadn’t exactly been skirting around the topic of his job but you certainly didn’t bring it up even though you had a few questions. You knew how tense it made him when you asked, how panicked he got for a reason you didn’t want to ask, so for his sake you didn’t say anything.
It didn’t bother you not knowing, not in the sense that it would break up the friendship you had because you could very well live without the details. Still, that didn’t mean you weren’t curious and since he would be home for a while, you couldn’t help but think about it.
You glanced back at your room with a soft smile on your face as you stared at the closed door.
It was one of those rare moments where you had woken up before he did and it was only because he was still recovering from his injury. You would’ve stayed in bed with him, honestly it took a lot of self control to not go back to sleep in his arms when you had woken up, but you had planned to get most of your chores done so you could spend all of your time with him this weekend uninterrupted.
This was the last load of laundry you had to do and if you folded them quick enough then you could crawl back into his warmth before he woke up.
You placed the jacket into the laundry basket with some enthusiasm, the promise of falling asleep or even laying with Simon again enough to make you want to do your mundane chores.
Just as you were about to walk into the living room you felt your shirt being lightly tugged to stop you and the ghost of a touch against your lower back which caused you to shiver.
A smile spread across your face and you turned around to see Simon.
He had just woken up. His hair was messy and his eyes were still bleary as he rubbed them, a look that a child who had just woken up set on his face as he stood in front of you bare chested but still bandaged up. You were surprised you hadn’t heard him, he wasn’t exactly as light footed as he usually was at the moment, but you were happy to see him nonetheless.
“Good morning.” You spoke lightly.
“You weren’t in bed.” He grunted and you raised the laundry basket up for him to see.
“Thought I’d start early.”
He eyed the laundry basket and you could see the thoughts racing through his mind: You shouldn’t be doing the laundry now that I’m here. I wonder if I could take the basket and fold it myself. I can’t believe laundry stole her away from me.
His eyebrows knitted together when he saw his jacket and he picked it out to the other clothes, inspecting it carefully as he made it look like a normal sized jacket in his hands. His eye went serious when he stuck his finger through the hole in it before he glanced at you.
“You didn’t have to wash it.” He said but you gave him a soft smile.
“I’m just glad I got the blood out.” You walked into the living room with him in tow as you set the basket on the floor. “Your patch should be somewhere in here.”
You searched around for the patch and when you turned around to give it to him, he was already folding the laundry. You weren’t as surprised as you thought you should’ve been considering the past few days had been a fight against him trying to do things around the house instead of resting.
At every turn, he was trying to sweep the floors or washing the dishes or he was trying to fix something before you shooed him away. You practically had to push him back into his room or back onto the couch with threats about calling Price, who had messaged you yesterday asking about Simon’s recovery, to get him to stop pushing himself.
You had never seen him so restless before. You were worried that maybe his mind wasn’t exactly in the right place, that maybe he was fighting off the urge to hide away in his room but you also had a sneaking suspicion this was his attempt at making it up to you.
Making up to what, you weren’t entirely sure.
“Maybe I should tie you down to get you to rest.” You teased and didn’t miss the way he eyed you with a glint in his eyes. “Simon.”
“Didn’t say anything.” He didn’t look away from you as you noticed the faint hint of a smile on his features.
You couldn’t help but chuckle from the comment you made even as your face went warm. However, instead of dwelling on it and subjecting yourself to Simon’s flirting, which had been directed towards you more often than you expected these past few days, you decided to focus on the laundry. You wouldn’t get anything done today that you wanted to if you let him and you wanted to get the laundry put away.
You sat down next to him on the couch and smiled when you felt him press his thigh against yours. You put more of your weight against him in return and watched as his eyes softened while he continued to fold.
A smile pulled at your lips as you set the patch down.
“You know if you had waited, I could’ve made breakfast.” You teased and he hummed.
“I could fold while you make breakfast.” He countered and you shook your head.
“You’re allergic to giving yourself a break.”
“Slept pretty good past few nights.”
You gave him a look but he didn’t seem very phased, in fact he was a little smug about it which only made you playfully roll your eyes. You knew it was a losing battle, one that you had only won once a few nights ago, and it made you wonder if he was this stubborn with his coworkers.
He bent down to grab the last of the items that needed to be folded and his eye twitched. You watched him fight the urge to put a hand on his side and you bit the inside of your cheek.
Simon had been recovering well considering he didn’t rest nearly as often as someone should for being stabbed and you couldn’t help but wonder if maybe that was because he was used to still being on the move despite any injuries he has received. The thought made you feel sick but you could only assume that the military was that brutal, especially when you assumed that’s where he got his scars.
Before you didn’t really think about them, it wasn’t your business, but now you wondered how many of them had happened in the same circumstances as his current injury. How many of them had been near death experiences? How many of them caused him to nearly bleed out? How many of them were close calls?
You heard your name being called and you blinked a few times before you realized you had been staring at his bandages. You looked up and met his eyes, watching as he gave you a sad look before he very gently took your hand into his.
“Feeling better today.” His eyes flickered down to your hand where he rubbed his thumb across your knuckles. “Just sore.”
You nodded, knowing that he wouldn’t lie to you about that, and gave his hand a quick squeeze. You let out the breath you had been holding, feeling a little less uneasy, though you found yourself glancing back at some of his scars, particularly the one so close to his eye.
You didn’t want to think of how that one happened.
The laundry was folded in no time and before you could even stand up to put it away, Simon had pulled the basket away from you, forcing you to make breakfast instead. Though, you were sure when he was finished he would make you sit so he could cook instead.
Just as you pulled out the skillet, he walked into the kitchen and stepped into your space and looked at you expectantly while he held his hand out.
“You know I cook everyday when you’re gone.” You raised an eyebrow and watched him scowl.
“Now I’m home.” He argued and gestured for you to give him the skillet.
You handed him the skillet before you pulled out the food from the fridge, avoiding the arm that he was about to put out to stop you from going back to the stove. You watched the inner turmoil inside of him, the urge to fight you about this butting heads with the urge to let you do as you pleased before he conceded and let you stay beside him.
You gave him a triumphant smile that caused him to scoff before the two of you began to cook together.
“So what do you want to do today?” You wondered as you added a pinch of spices into the breakfast. “We could go on a walk or stay in if you’re not up for anything outside.”
Simon was silent for a moment and you glanced at him to see that he had a very concentrated look on his face as he stared at the skillet. He almost instinctively leaned closely to you, your shoulders pressed against each other as his knuckles turned white, and you couldn’t help but lean into him as well as you waited patiently for him to speak.
When you put pressure against him, his eyes darted towards you before he looked away from you quickly. He shifted on his feet and let out a short breath before he looked back at you with hidden fear in his eyes.
“Was thinking maybe we could go on a date.”
You blinked a few times as you stared at him with wide eyes, unable to say anything as the words failed to come to you. You couldn’t quite believe how forward he had just been about it, considering the most forward he had been was when he pinned you to the counter just a few nights ago, but this was entirely different than that.
This was a date, not your first ever, but the first one you would have with Simon.
The emotions bubbling up inside of your stomach were almost too much for you as the giddiness surged through your veins and made you feel hot all over. You could hardly breathe, like all of the air inside your lungs had been stolen as you struggled to even think of a reply.
“Yes! I would love that.” You grinned after a moment and couldn’t stop.
Simon let out a deep breath and his once tense shoulders relaxed as he nodded, looking incredibly relieved by your answer before he ran a hand through his hair. He still avoided looking at you as the tips of his ear turned red as he focused on cooking breakfast instead of letting it burn.
“Great.” He said and you waited for him to say more as he plated the food made for the both of you.
Normally you would’ve been patient, knowing that Simon took his time to think of what to say, but you were too excited about the thought of going on a date with him.
“What are we doing? What did you have in mind?” You couldn’t help but stare at him with wide eyes as he sat across from you.
“Dinner. At a restaurant.” He looked almost unsure as he stared at, gauging your reaction to his suggestion as if his life depended on it.
You couldn’t help the grin split across your face even though you were quite surprised by the fact that he wanted to take you out. You were expecting him to suggest making you dinner inside the apartment, much like how his birthday had been spent, which would’ve been perfectly fine for you, but this made you even more excited.
You didn’t even care what restaurant it was or even if the two of you didn’t get any food, you just wanted to go out with him.
Simon’s face fell with relief and he couldn’t help but smile as well, which you were sure made you both look like idiots. He let out a short sigh and began eating and you started talking, a lot more than usual, but he didn’t say anything to get you to stop.
You were too excited to really care anyway. You had thought a few times in the past about whether anything could come from being romantically involved with Simon and you thought about it even more since the night he had kissed you. You wondered if there would actually be something since he had never once talked about dating someone before or even looked interested in someone in the three years that you had known him.
Before you had wondered if maybe he just wasn’t somebody who wanted a partner and though it was a hard pill to swallow you had decided that whatever would happen would happen. It made your chest warm now that you knew he did want something, that he was trying to have something even though maybe he had it before.
It was hard for you to wait for this evening, in fact it took everything in you to not tell him to just take you out right now.
One look at Simon said he was feeling the same.
You don’t remember a time before this moment where he looked this happy. Even though he wasn’t smiling as big as you or talking all that differently, you could see how much brighter his usual tired eyes were and how his shoulders had relaxed significantly since he had come home.
He glanced up at you from his plate and your eyes met briefly but it was enough to nearly knock the wind out of your chest.
You always found comfort in his dark eyes. You knew that he had seen things that many others haven’t and yet he always managed to look at you softly. It had become something that you always looked for and even in this moment you looked for it, but you didn’t find it.
Instead you saw only what you could imagine was pure adoration. His eyes were incredibly warm even for someone who always gave you that safety. You knew he wasn’t someone who was very affectionate, even recently as your relationship changed so you never would’ve expected him to look at you any different. You tried to write it off as your mind playing tricks on you since you were overjoyed about going on a date with him, but when he spared you another glance as he took both of your plates to wash them, there was no mistaking it.
All you could see in his eyes was love.
~
You lost track of how many times you looked at yourself in the mirror, checking to make sure that your entire outfit and your makeup looked perfect. Never in your three years of living with Simon had you ever been worried about your appearance, even after you figured out your feelings for him, but when you needed that confidence, it was nowhere to be seen.
A dinner date. An official one, one that you had been properly asked out on by the very person you were in love with, which not only made you feel like you were on top of the world but had caused you to put some unseen pressure on yourself.
You didn’t want to let him down, you didn’t want to disappoint him and yet you couldn’t help but feel incredibly foolish for feeling so nervous about a simple dinner date. It wasn’t like you had never eaten dinner with him, in fact he was really the only other person you ate dinner with other than the occasional going out with friends, so in your mind there was no reason why you should be freaking out.
However you couldn’t help the fact that you saw every imperfection with your outfits to the point where you had changed at least four times already. You were trying hard to not work yourself up and as you looked in the mirror, you couldn’t help but think you didn’t look that good.
You glanced at the clock and clenched your jaw.
There wasn’t that much time left and you didn’t want to make him wait but you were too conflicted about your outfit. You let out a short huff and weren't to change again when there was a knock at your door that had you holding your hands tightly together.
You should’ve known that he would want to go early just in case there was an emergency or some crazy reason why you both wouldn’t be able to get there on time.
“Hold on!” You called out and made sure that you looked presentable.
You tried not to be harsh on yourself since you wanted to have fun but unfortunately, your mind wasn’t having it. Instead of showing that however, you opened the door with a smile, one that grew at the sight of Simon on the other side of the door.
He was dressed up in a black button down shirt that you didn’t even know he owned but looked quite nice in nonetheless. He had cut his hair and even shaved off the stubble on his face, making himself look more put together, though you wouldn’t have minded if he hadn’t since to you he looked pretty every day.
Despite that, the effort made your heart swell, especially when you caught a whiff of cologne, that you also didn’t know he owned, mixed with his regular smell which had all thoughts pushed out of your mind.
Fuck, he smells really nice.
Simon stared at you and stepped closer to you, leaning into your space and taking over your senses with him. You could feel his warm breath on you as his eyes bounced around your face, spending just the right amount of time on the details he wanted to look at.
He was breathing slightly heavier and you saw his arm twitch as he nearly brought his hand up for a second before he swallowed hard.
You waited with bated breath for him to say something, anything at this point. You wanted him to reassure you that whatever was going in your head was a lie, that the weather was nice, or that his shirt was scratchy. His silence never bothered you, even now, but you desperately wanted him to say something just so you could find enough courage with his voice to push away your nervousness.
“You look nice.” You breathed out and watched as his eyes flicker to your lips. “I didn’t know you owned a shirt like that.”
Simon cleared his throat and absentmindedly rubbed a hand across his shirt as he took a step back. He nodded and it looked as though he were struggling to find the words as he looked at you so instead he put his attention to the door frame beside him.
“The old man got it for me.” He glanced back at you and he seemed to lose his voice. “You look…lovely.”
“Yeah? You think so?” You gave him an unsure smile because even though you didn’t want to make it seem like you were fishing for compliments, there was still that part of your mind that couldn’t stop thinking poorly.
“Yes.”
He looked sincere and serious as he stared at all of you. You had rarely ever seen him this serious and you wondered if maybe he had seen the insecurity written across your face or maybe in your eyes no matter how hard you tried to hide it. The look on his face made you sigh softly before a genuine smile spread across your face and you felt the ugly thoughts wash away from your mind.
“Thank you.”
You grabbed everything you needed and made sure that your outfit was put in place before you walked to the living room with Simon in tow. You went through a checklist with him, one that you knew wasn’t necessary since he had most likely ran through it multiple times in his head but you did it anyway.
You were about to walk out of the door when he stopped you.
“Shoes.” He gestured to your feet and you looked down at your feet with raised eyebrows.
“That would’ve been embarrassing.” You laughed and went to put your shoes on before he stopped you.
Simon didn’t say anything to you as he kneeled down and began to put your shoes on for you. You stared at him dumbfounded as your heart fluttered for a moment while he made sure they were on correctly and comfortably.
He gave your ankle a soft squeeze when he was finished and set your foot down before he stood up. He gave you a quick glance before he grabbed what he needed after taking your wallet from you since he insisted on paying. He brushed his knuckles against your arm as he stepped past you and opened the door for you.
Your eyes softened and you couldn’t help but place a hand on his arm, giving it a squeeze as well, before you stepped outside with him right behind.
The ride to the restaurant wasn’t long but the both of you talked the entire way. It was easy conversation and for a moment you were content with just spending your time with him speaking about whatever came to mind. There was nothing different about it when you normally spoke to him, especially now since he had been home for longer than he had been before.
When he parked at the restaurant, you gave him an unsure look as you saw that it was one of the more expensive ones in town that you had always wanted to try but never had enough money for since you were a college student.
You couldn’t say anything as he helped you out of the car rendered speechless by the fact that he took you here for your first date.
You entered the restaurant, followed closely behind by two other patrons, and made your way to a booth towards the back.
The dimly lit restaurant was beautiful in your opinion and you wondered if maybe he had been here before or if this was new for him. You were still speechless about everything until you opened the menu and saw the prices, which nearly made you grimace.
“Simon, are you sure?” You asked softly as you gave him an uncertain look that had his eyebrows knitting together.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” He stared at you and studied your face as if he were gauging to see if you needed to leave.
“It’s a little expensive.”
His eyes softened as he set the menu down for a moment and placed a hand on your wrist before giving you a gentle squeeze that had you letting out a sigh.
“I’ve got the money for it.” He reassured you and made sure that your worries were gone before he went back to looking at the menu.
You hummed, a question popping into your head but you were unsure if you should ask it. A server came and took your orders while you ruminated, wondering if you could say something or if it was better to leave it alone. You didn’t want to make him uncomfortable, not during a dinner where the two of you were going to enjoy delicious food and each other's company.
Simon tapped your foot with his and when you met his eyes, he gave you a look. His face had turned serious and it was easy to tell that he knew what you were thinking about.
His shoulder did tense, but instead of looking angry or nervous, he gave you a short nod for you to go ahead and say what you wanted to.
“So you get paid well at your job.” You began, almost skirting around the question which you knew he didn’t like, but you decided to anyway.
“Not that much, enough to pay rent and eat.” He shrugged and rubbed his thumb across his water glass. “Sorry to crush your dreams.”
You laughed and rolled your eyes at his teasing, watching a small smile pull at his lips as his eyes flicker to yours. You scolded him lightly and though you wanted to tell him that you could care less if he had money or not, that you didn’t even question him about what his job was for three years, you decided not to.
Instead, you gathered enough courage to ask the real question on your mind, one that had been in your mind since John, Kyle, and Price had showed up at your shared apartment. It made you a little nervous as you fidgeted with your discarded straw wrapper.
“What rank are you?” You asked, chuckling nervously to yourself as that didn’t really sound right coming out of your mouth. “Is that how it works?”
“I’m a lieutenant.” He was straight to the point with a serious look in his eyes and you nodded slowly with indifference.
“And that’s good?”
Simon raised an eyebrow and you gave him a sheepish smile. It was clear you didn’t know as much as he assumed and you watched his shoulders relaxed ever so slightly. He shifted in his seat slightly as he stared at you, looking for something in your eyes but when he didn’t see it he continued.
“Means I’m good at my job.” He said matter of factly and you felt your chest warm at his confidence. “I can tell Johnny and Kyle what to do when Price can’t.”
“Oh, so that’s why you’re bossy.” You teased, more of his behavior making sense to you now that you knew, and he sent you a look.
“I’m not bossy.”
It was your turn to send him a look as you raised an eyebrow, watching as he didn’t concede on that blatant lie. Simon just as stubborn as he was a little bossy, but he was never forceful or mean and always seemed to have the best interest in mind, which you always thought was him just being willing to do everything, which was still true, but now it was because he was used to telling people what to do.
Luckily for you if you told him to stop he would. You weren’t sure if John or Kyle had that luxury.
“You are a little bit.” You said but you didn’t make it sound like a bad thing which made him sigh with relief. “Especially when you want to do everything in the apartment.”
“That’s what I did before you moved in.” He told you and you shook your head.
It was a bad excuse.
When you had first moved in, when he was home, Simon would do everything around the apartment because of that. He had a routine he told you about and how he stuck to it even with you added to the equation, but after a year or so of you living with him he had dropped it.
This was something different.
Whether it be because he wanted to make up something to you or for another reason you weren’t sure, but you knew that he was doing this out of routine.
You were about to ask him why as your food was served and nearly did before he stopped you.
“I like…taking care of you.”
For a moment it was like the world had stopped. You stared at him with wide eyes as your entire body grew warm and you bit on your bottom lip. You blinked a few times, unsure of what to say as he stared at you with worried eyes as if he had said something wrong. You were so overwhelmed by the good feeling that washed over you, having never expected him to admit that outloud, that you were holding  yourself back from rushing around to the other side of the table to kiss him.
You wanted to. Your hands itched and suddenly your legs went restless as you felt the urge to shower him with as much love as you could before he got tired of it.
Simon pulled his hands into his lap and looked almost embarrassed for having said it but he didn’t look away from you.
“You shouldn’t have to do those things when I’m back.” He said softly and you managed to pull yourself out of your shock to give him a sad smile.
“You shouldn’t overwork yourself.” You countered, knowing how hard his job had to be, and he frowned.
“You do everything when I’m gone.”
“And I’m okay with that.”
He looked as if he wanted to argue with you but didn’t say anything. You saw that look, the one full of guilt he had given you the night had come back home and you felt your heart ache ever so slightly.
You scooted out of the booth, ignoring the confused look on his face, as you pushed your plate to his side and scooted in next to him. You gave him a warm smile as he made room for you, breathing in the good way he smelt, before you pressed your thigh against his in a way to comfort him without overwhelming him.
“We can do stuff together.” You suggested, though there was little room for negotiating, and began to eat your food. “It doesn’t have to be all on you.”
Simon was silent for a long moment as he stared at you but you didn’t mind. You could tell he was thinking as the guilt didn’t necessarily disappear from his eyes but was lessened as he put more of his weight against you.
He let out a soft sigh when your eyes met with each other and you watched them soften again as he got that adoring look that made you feel like you were on top of the world.
He began to eat as well, staying quiet for a few moments before he hesitantly placed a hand on top of your thigh that made you shiver.
“Spend more time together.” He nodded and it made you smile as you placed your hand on top of his.
“Doing the little things.” You added with a soft voice rubbed your thumb across his knuckles.
“Normal things.”
The two of you ate and talked for a long time, you weren’t sure how long you had been in the restaurant but neither of you had cared in the slightest. It didn’t matter, not to you as you felt incredibly happy to just be with Simon. The food was so good that you both ended up taking leftovers after you had joked he had to take you there for every date from now on, though you were sure he’d really do it if you wanted him to.
You held onto his hand as you walked out of the restaurant, accidentally bumping the patrons who had walked in after you, and didn’t let go until you were in the car. You smiled the entire way back home that your cheeks hurt by the time you were getting ready for bed.
The two of you went through your regular routine and you were so ready to crawl into bed beside him you nearly skipped everything entirely.
You felt Simon place a hand on your lower back when you were drying your face off from washing it and when you looked up from the towel to give him a smile, he gave you one back.
You were about to ask him if everything was okay when he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead, causing you to lean into him.
“You’re beautiful.” He whispered in your ear as he caressed your cheek.
“I just washed my face.” You giggled and he hummed as he pressed another kiss to your cheek.
“Doesn’t matter.”
You pulled back and shook your head as he continued to caress your face. You leaned into his touch and watched as his eyes flickered to your lips which made you give him a coy look, knowing exactly what he was thinking about.
“There something you want?” You teased and he scoffed as he glanced up into your eyes.
“Heard it was bad to kiss on the first date.” There was a glint in his eyes as he stepped closer to you.
You raised an amused eyebrow and gave him an expectant look as you waited for him to close the gap between the both of you. When he didn’t you pursed your lips in a fake pout when you realized he was waiting for you to tell him he can kiss you.
“Well, I don’t think it’s a bad idea.” You faked a sigh. “Maybe I want one as well.”
“Be kinda bad if I didn’t then.”
“Oh, absolutely.”
Simon pulled you into him and pressed a tender kiss to your lips. He sighed when your lips met as he wrapped his arms around you to keep you secure to chest while you wrapped your arms around his neck. He very gently bit your bottom lip as one of his hands moved to your hip and he stuck his tongue inside when you let him.
You could taste every word that he said through the kiss, every feeling that he must’ve had trouble saying during the date and it only made your heart swell. You kissed him back, hoping that he would know everything you wanted to tell him too.
The way he made you feel like you were everything, the way things always felt good when he was home even when it was the bad days. It took everything in you to not utter those three words when you broke apart from the kiss…
I love you.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐓 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐋𝐘𝐍 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐀𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐘 almost caused an impossible amount of property damage. Numerous had minor injuries, while some were severely wounded, but overall, no deaths occurred. News reporters were at the scene, interviewing policemen, detectives, victims, and the public to inform others through television. Countless ambulances were parked nearby to help the wounded. People were divided, with numerous supporting your actions for saving them while others blamed you for the damages. Yet what made your head spin from confusion was how no one was talking about the other Spider-Man, Miguel. You knew he was there and that you weren’t imagining anything else. His ignored presence made it seem like the public never saw him, almost like a ninja undercover but a spider-man! The event covered each newspaper and channel and even started to gain more attention on online platforms. The raging public against you was making up crazy allegations in hopes you could be sued, making petitions in hopes of finding out your identity. Thankfully, it was just a small amount of them, mostly the politicians who wanted to give credit to the police. They’ve been nothing but a thorn in your side anyway, like those detectives who always tried to find any evidence on you but unfortunately found nothing.
It had been almost a full two months, and they still hadn’t gotten over it. Brooklyn Visions Academy has been closed since the incident to let students and faculty recover and rebuild the school. You, on the other hand, enjoyed the free vacation. There was no need to worry about exams or studies with the extra months off. The green creature caused a lot of damage, and the fire could’ve burned down the entire school. It was by chance that you got to save the victims, and you were thankful that Miguel showed up to help you, even if it was for a different cause.
It had been a full blast since the Spider-Man of Earth 928 invited you to join his spider-society. You learned a lot about it, as a rookie, when you started following him with the multiversal gizmo, the name of the watch. He founded it as an elite crew and began by recruiting other spider-people from other dimensions to assist him in removing anomalies, or people or things that were not intended to be in another universe.
You were shocked to see how many spider-variants he recruited before you. You believed it was already around twenty. But ever since you joined, the number of spider-men started to grow larger and larger. You met so many new friends, learning new techniques from them as well as forming new friendships. It was something you enjoyed; all of them—except for Miguel, were so much identical to you, even by personality. It created such beautiful diversity in his society, and you never felt more at home.
And for the first time in a long time, you didn’t feel so alone anymore, knowing you weren’t the only one, the only one to carry the great power and responsibility as a spider-variant.
Miguel became your inspiration. He was strong, yet he remained the very sarcastic and aloof person he was. He was a man of few words, but you wanted to learn more from him and become stronger like him. His efforts to recruit more spider-variants from various universes piqued your interest, and you wanted to help him. He occasionally allowed you to assist his multiversal policing mission as a co-leader. The multiversal gizmo he gave you would occasionally beep, as it was his only means of communicating with you from another dimension. To keep it short, you were getting the hang of this spider society and often went on missions with other spider-men.
A few of them were your age, and you grew to like them. One of them was Gwen Stacy. You found her cool for having an eyebrow piercing and for playing drums while in a band. She had pretty blonde hair with a hint of pink, but a portion of it was buzzed off, which she joked about because it happened when a spider-man from another dimension accidentally forced her to cut it. She always mentioned that Spider-Man was sweet, friendly, selfless, and such to you. Gwen was likeable and friendly as well, but at times.. seemed more tense when she talked about her problems with her dad and her best friend, Peter. She would frequently make light of it while you were concerned for her.
“But hey.. stuff happens right? Canon events and all that stuff…” Gwen would say, with an aloof yet recognizable anxious tone.
Canon events. It was the only thing you hated about the rules of the multiverse. You never had it stored in your mind, as it caused your head to hurt, your spider-senses to go haywire, and, overall, it hurt you on the inside. Every spider-man had to go through it. Even you. Every time the words canon event were spoken out of someone’s mouth, your stomach would drop slowly as you remembered your canon event.

You were in the rain, fighting your nemesis, who claimed to be the Venom of your universe. He was an extremely difficult opponent ever to beat and you often came back home limping with blood stains dripping off your shirt while you tried to hide it from your parents. You could feel their worried expressions often behind you, resulting in you feeling guilty. You just wanted to pour out your problems to a person who could understand you. You already knew friends and family weren’t the answer. In this line of work as a hero, you always act alone. Always by yourself. Aside from your worries, you could’ve sworn.. every time you could manage to escape your nemesis, it was like you were on your last days on Earth.
After hours of fighting under a monsoon in a large, dark alleyway, you could remember vividly that the rain was pouring down on both of you while you were breathing heavily, exhausted, and injured. Your wrists started to bleed out of your spider suit while you continued to shoot webs the entire time you were fighting Venom. He was tossing you around, gripping your head and smashing it through walls. You often spat out so much blood through your mask that you could remember drinking a litre full of it. Your eyes were wide and bloodshot, while your heart beat faster than a runner in a race. You clenched your fists as you felt the adrenaline in you, preventing you from giving up.
And in a fit of rage, you lost it. You remembered grabbing Venom’s forearm, gripping it so hard that you heard the host inside the creature’s bones shatter into pieces. You were silent during the entire fight; it wasn’t like any spider-variant. Usually, they’d make a sarcastic or humorous remark, but you weren’t playing around. You wanted him gone.
Venom’s limbs were tied individually to each wall of the alleyway’s buildings, as well as a tight noose formed by your webs on his neck supported by a billboard on top. He was weak for the first time in front of you. You couldn’t even take his presence anymore. You wanted him dead and gone, dismembered to the point where no one could ever find his body. You first pulled on all the webs to tighten their grip on him. They were thin enough to cut like a knife through his skin. His blood dropped down alongside the rain. After, you cut off all of them except for the one on his neck, leaving him to choke while you watched him suffer—the same criminal who killed one of your friends.
You remember him muttering your name, making you perplexed, but you were still heartless. You carelessly pulled his leg down as the venom’s skin started to melt. The gross substance ran down, staining you in the process before your eyes went wide. You quickly realized and as quick as you could, you cut the noose before his body collapsed onto yours.
“No.. no.. no… Peter, no,” you whimpered, cupping his beat-up face with your bloody glove. You quickly took off your spider mask. Tears built up in your eyes while you sniffled, and the blood from your nose dried. You caressed his cheek, moving any hair from his face in hopes of making him feel better. In his injured state, he slowly rested a hand on your soft-gloved fingers. When he saw your face, he couldn’t be more shocked. He winced as he tried to smile at you reassuringly, blood dripping from his mouth while his left bruised-up eye pulsed.
“I'm so sorry, Y/N… I.. I didn’t know you were spider-woman...” Peter blubbered, gripping your hand tighter. His hand slowly moved from your fingers to your face, cupping it as well while he wiped your fresh tears away before they could fall from your cheeks. “You’re so beautiful...” He admired you, smiling. He coughed out more blood, choking on the irony substance. He wanted to close his eyes but he hated the thought of leaving you. He tried to pull your face closer but most of his fingers were bent and broken. His consciousness drifted closer to leaving him. At least he could die in the arms of the one he truly loved.
“Parker, shut the hell up I’m getting you help, okay?! Don’t die on me!” You fussed, crying more as you wiped away the rain that poured down on his face. You brought his injured body into your arms. "No, no, no, please, Peter,” your sobs were muffled on his neck, your chest heaving as well. Your hand went to his wrist to quickly check his pulse, noticing it was already gone.
That night, a part of you died, knowing that your best friend, Peter Parker, was your nemesis and best friend all along. It was one of your canon events.

In the early hours of Earth 926-Z’s New York, you were dozing off in one of your dorm’s couches with a blanket over your chest. You were too drowsy to pay attention to your gizmo which beeped again. The gadget vibrated on your wrist before its screen automatically flipped open as it activated the portal’s access. Some of your objects started to float before the familiar colourful hexagons were summoned as they started to circle. You put a hand over your eyes, groaning when the brightness annoyed you. You tried to get more sleep until you heard footsteps. When your spider-senses buzzed, you peeked through your fingers with your exhausted eyes.
“Heeey Y/N, just thought I’d drop by,” the familiar voice said. It was Jessica Drew, one of the spider-women of the spider-society. She looked down at you, who slept on one of your dorm’s couches, tired. She chuckled at how drowsy you were; it was understandable since you were out fighting and catching anomalies with Hobie last night.
“Told ya not to get overboard,” Another familiar voice said. Your tired eyes looked up and saw the mini Lyla, Miguel’s sassy but highly intelligent AI. She flashed a smirk with her small virtual body in the air next to Jessica’s head by a few inches. She adjusted her pink, heart-shaped glasses and glitched to get closer to your eyes. She tried to lift your eyelids open with her tiny hands. Jessica took small steps around the living room, seeing how messy but organized the room was.
You grumbled and tried to shoo her hologram away. “Ughhh.. what do you want…” you groaned, turning over the couch as Lyla glitched back next to Jessica. With a flick from her fingertips, the spider-woman shot her web and pulled you up effortlessly, making you sit up on the couch.
“Y’know the girl I recruited— and your friend, Gwen?” Jessica asked, looking down on you while you hummed in agreement shortly.
“Anyway, Miguel and I assigned her for a mission in Earth 1610B to catch another anomaly—well, technically just a villain from that dimension,” Jessica explained but paused, looking back to Lyla. With a clap of her tiny hands, your room went dark as she presented an orange virtual screen that was twice as big as the coffee table. It flickered, presented someone, and then began to play as Lyla carried on.
“This guy calls himself the Spot, and he recently just caused some havoc in Earth 1610B’s Brooklyn,” the small AI said as the video continued. The villain was faceless, with a black spot in the center of his face and numerous spots all over his body. Almost like a human...faceless cow? The screen was then flipped sideways, creating a three-dimensional hologram of the strange entity. You rubbed your chin, and even though you were really tired, you couldn’t help but become curious.
The hologram flashed brighter with a slight change of colour as it became bigger. The figure collapsed from the screen as all three of you watched how the scenery changed into the broken collider from Earth 1610B that Miguel told you about. The Spot’s holographic figure flickered out of nowhere again before you heard him speak.
“Look at me— you did this to me!!” The Spot yelled, his voice becoming more and more distorted as he began to charge into the spider-man and the officer beside him. You watched as the two of them were in a fighting stance until the Spot summoned a hole by accident, getting himself kicked by, well, himself. He made a slight oof sound, knowing it would’ve hurt a lot. He took a pretty big tumble as he slid in front of the two with his jaw on the floor before another hole was created, pulling him into the black abyss. The hologram then ended, going back to being a screen.
You rubbed your eye after you finished watching, bewildered but still drained. You looked back at Jessica and Lyla; the frizzy, curly-haired woman had a serious expression on her face, watching with an austere look on the Spot. It made you slightly tense like a kid seeing their mother angry. She looked back at you before her face softened as she sighed. You cleared your throat before speaking.
"So, uh, what does this have to do with me?” You asked, scratching your head out of curiosity.
"Well, Gwen knows her way 'round that world since she got pulled into that dimension before,” Jessica explained while she started to walk around your living room, viewing the decorations with an aloof stare.
"I know 'bout her lil' friend.. Miles, right? 'm pretty sure she told you 'bout him before.” she continued, looking back at you to see what you had to say. You just nodded while you watched her slowly move around the room, running her hand gently on the surface of your tables.
“The girl’s good at combat like any other spider-variant in the spider-society. I mean, I could’ve sent her hours ago, but, y'know, Miguel.” Jessica spoke before her eyes wandered back to you. “It honestly ain’t a surprise that he doubts her but this Spot dude is starting to concern Miguel. I’ve faith in Gwen, but Miguel still insisted on bringing another spider; he recommended you.” Your eyebrows rose as the pregnant lady turned back to you She cleared her throat, and she became more serious.
“So— an order from Miguel; you accompany Gwen to Earth 1610B and the two of you make sure the operation is a success.” She rummaged through her spider-suit’s pocket and tossed you something very small. You easily caught it and saw a tiny mechanical spider, its legs tucked into its body, with a funky logo on the iron skin, You assumed Lyla fabricated it. Jessica continued to speak. “Aaaand put that device near the Spot. Just put it somewhere he can’t find it,” she explained.
You looked down on the very tiny machine. “What does it do?” You asked. “It can track the person's whereabouts through the multiverse and scan their data; pretty cool, huh?” Lyla smiled, floating around in the air. You looked back at Jess, who had a serious look, but you could tell she wanted you to join. You sighed.
“Fineeee, I’ll do it,” you responded before standing up from the couch, opening your closet nearby to get your spider-suit. Lyla easily opened up another portal, causing a ruckus as some of your furniture started to fly around again. Jessica was about to step into the large floating and orange hexagons before she looked back at you, giving you a thumbs up and fully entering the portal. It closed on you as well as Lyla, who disappeared out of thin air.

You travelled through space and time, bending the laws of physics as you travelled through the multiverse with speed faster than light. It was all blurry with only space and stars passing through you as well as the hexagons that led the way. It all started to clear when the matter itself tore apart, creating a hole. You blinked once before you finally saw yourself on Earth 928. You were spawned in the middle of the lobby as you easily used your webs to maneuver around and reach the cafeteria, where you'd meet Gwen. The familiar ginormous building would make a normal person pass out of confusion but it had what every spider-variant liked; a big space to swing freely, overpasses to walk on even when upside down, training programs, and even a therapy section for the spider-people who recently got their canon event.
You landed on the floor and looked around the large space, you spotted her sitting down next to a plant with her favourite pink cardigan and her watch flipped open. You snuck behind her while she looked down on the gizmo, scaring her in the process. She suddenly yelped.
“Jesus Christ—Y/N, that scared me.” Gwen sighed, while you laughed.
“My bad— your spider-senses didn’t go off?” you asked before she shook her head. Her expression then changed into a bright one.
“Can’t believe I’ll go back again!” Gwen smiled and giggled while you gave her a smug look. She slightly blushed before coughing. “T-To catch the Spot, duh,” she responded and looked away. You playfully rolled your eyes.
“Yeah, yeah, sure,” you giggled. Your eyes wandered back to her flipped watch before they grew wide. “You serious? You got the two of you as your wallpaper too?” You teased before Gwen quickly flipped it closed, looking around frantically. It was the picture she showed you a long time ago when Gwen and her friend took a picture together while she ended up in the wrong dimension.
“Huh? Me? don’t know what you’re talking about.” She said, playing dumb before she quickly opened up another portal using the gizmo. The bright orange hexagons grew bigger and rotated very slowly. The blonde-haired girl looked back at you excitedly. "C'mon, let’s go!” She smiled before stepping in, not giving you a chance to speak.
"Geez, I guess she really misses him,” you shrugged before jumping in as well.

The afro-haired teen had his headphones on, trying to relax after a small argument with his parents. Now, he’s grounded but who do they think he was? He was spider-man for God’s sake. He can’t be grounded. Miles was lying down on his bed with his arms behind his head. His eyes were closed and his head occasionally but slowly moved to the rhythm of his music, it was his comfort after all.
Yet he didn’t seem to notice some of his things started to float mid-air. They circled around his room before black bubbles and colourful light started to form just above him. The portal opened as it revealed you and Gwen. She had an excited look after seeing her friend near after two years. You, on the other hand, were just looking down, wondering when he’ll notice the two of you.
”Miles! Miles!” Gwen called out, trying to get his attention. In confusion, Miles slowly opened his eyes to the familiar voice. He thought he was seeing things until he did see Gwen. He quickly took off his headphones and sat up. “Gwen! H-How—” He stuttered, perplexed to see her after such a long time. She then dropped down next to him on his bed, her legs crossed.
“How’d you get here— oof-!” Miles tried to speak again until the blonde-haired girl quickly hugged him. He hugged her back as well, still bewildered. He then noticed you dropped down the portal as well. It closed before you landed on his floor easily, not making so much noise.
You took off your mask, revealing your face to him. You flashed him a small smile. Even though you knew why Miguel was infuriated when the name Miles would leave someone’s mouth, mostly Gwen, he was still another spider-man that you had respect for since he was Gwen’s friend. His mouth slightly gaped when he saw you.
“My bad, my bad, didn’t mean to appear all of a sudden,” you said before Gwen pulled away from the hug and introduced the two of you. “Y/N, Miles, Miles, Y/N,” She quickly said while you just nodded, His expression slightly softened as he just nervously smiled at you.
"Yeah, hi, nice to meet you,” you smiled.
“Nice to meet you too?” Miles nervously responded. Before it could get awkward between you three, you looked behind you, noticing his open bedroom window. You looked back at Gwen. “You can stay here, Gwen; I’ll handle things while you catch up with your friend,” you suggested while she stood up from the bed, puzzled.
“Wait— you sure? You know we can do that later.” Gwen said, referring to the mission, while you nodded your head, reassuring her by patting her shoulder. “Yeah, I’m sure it’s alright,” you grinned, looking back at Miles and then at her. “Don’t want to miss this opportunity, no?” You teased, your hand slowly retracting from her shoulder while she slightly blushed. You turned back to his window, jumping off his bedroom window. You shot a web from your fingertips and quickly swung yourself away. Gwen watched while Miles looked out the window, his gaze finding you as he admired how quick and talented you were at moving swiftly through the air.
“Dang, she’s good,” Miles pointed out while Gwen nodded, looking back at Miles as the two of them smiled. They were happy to see each other again after so long.
Meanwhile, you continued to swing away until you were out of sight of any civilians as you climbed up a high building. You were standing by the edge of the building’s roof, walking around as you looked over to your watch to see where this Spot could be. You sighed and took off your mask, slightly frustrated to not find anything before Lyla’s hologram appeared out of sight.
"Heeeey, Y/N, how’s the mission?” She asked with a grin, spinning on her virtual chair, which was the same size as hers. You grumbled.
“I can’t find the Spot’s location,” you admitted, sighing from how annoyed you were. “Got any idea where he could be?” You asked the AI before she hummed, thinking about it with her tiny finger tapping on her chin. Her hologram flickered before she summoned a 3D model of the entire map of Earth 1610’s Brooklyn with all of its avenues, streets and even shop names. She zoomed into the new hologram, revealing a building made out of bricks under a few overpasses. A few other shops surrounded it, as well as a small highway. Some of its windows were oddly broken and covered with a partially dirty cloth as a barrier.
The small AI manipulated the three-dimensional screen easily, zooming into the broken glass as the screen changed again. Inside the building was a messy room, with wires, confusing machines, and more technical equipment around the shelves and floor. The room was completely unorganized and clearly dimly lit.
“Looks like he worked for Alchemax before,” Lyla pointed out, taking a look at the equipment. "Even one of them has a logo," she observed as she leaned down to inspect the equipment components.
“Is this the Spot’s place?” You asked, then returned your gaze to the floating AI. She nodded her head in response.
“Scanned the area earlier when I zoomed in and saw his driver’s license on the table. It’s expired, but got his information,” she explained, her tone playful as if she found it all too easy. She then displayed a screen of an image of the Spot’s driver's license it had his name, age, address and more information. With two of your fingers, you zoomed out of that screen as you looked back at the hologram of the building, which you concluded to be his apartment. “Plus— the area’s full of dark matter,”
“I’ll get going,” you responded once you had your information, sliding your mask back onto your face before the hologram flickered to a close.
“Bu-byeeee~” Lyla grinned before her figure also disappeared. You flipped the watch back to a close before you swiftly jumped down the building and shot a web mid-air, propelling yourself to the Spot’s location.
You jumped from the tall skyscraper while shooting webs into the air to propel you into the sky without attracting any attention. The cool air hit your masked face until you descended, turning gracefully but quickly onto the roof of the building. You walked to the edge and stuck to the wall to get inside through the broken glass.
You slipped in easily as you observed the area. It was an apartment room. Though it was dimly lit, you noticed papers scattered on the table, some of them close to falling down. You lifted your mask up to your head to get a clear view of your surroundings, some of your bangs escaping to the sides of your face and forehead. With your gloved hands, you picked up the papers, skimming through them.
Reports, hypotheses, notes, and more... one thing they all had in common was a connection to multiverse matter or the concept of bringing back different entities from other universes. They weren’t all from Johnathon, aka Spot necessarily, most of them were reported by different scientists, especially from the well-known Olivia who was the head of the whole collider project back then, which caused a misbalance in the entire multiverse. You threw the papers back onto the table's surface before looking around again. You noticed some mechanics in the corner, concealed by a metallic closet. You leaned down and picked one up, noting that it also had the Alchemax logo until you noticed a small post it attached to the back. You ripped it off the mechanic, reading it.
“This isn’t the villain of the week—maybe five months, but still…” you mumbled, pulling your mask back on before you rummaged through your pockets, taking out the small spider Jessica gave you earlier. It automatically opened and summoned out its miniature legs after you tossed it against the wall. It then dug its legs into the brick and camouflaged really well.
“Gotta alert Gwen about this..” you mumbled. You quickly flicked a web out of your fingertips as it shot through the window. You flew out once again, swinging away faster and faster. You were again back in the metropolitan area, gliding through the air while your eyes wandered around trying to find Gwen. You assumed she was still at Miles’ apartment.
You swung down when you saw his apartment complex, noticing on the building’s rooftop there was loud music and lots of parked cars outside next to the road. You guessed that his family had a house party; the familiar smell of Puerto Rican food may sound good, but you knew you had to find Gwen quickly. When you landed back on the wall, you peeked through Miles’ bedroom window only to find no one inside, only Gwen left her cardigan on his bed.
“Fuck— where is that girl?” You sighed, shooting out another web atop the building beside his apartment. You gracefully landed on its rooftop before you flipped your watch open, trying to contact her. Unfortunately, it showed a hologram that said contact is on; do not disturb.
You grew more frustrated before turning the hologram to a close. You sighed and paced around on the rooftop. You wondered where she could be. Confused, you opened your gizmo back up again, speaking through Lyla.
“Hey Lyla- sorry to interrupt, got any idea where Gwen is? If so just send the coordinates, I can handle it,” you spoke as the AI’s hologram flickered again. She tried to find her location via watch but then she sighed.
“Sorry Y/N, she’s on do not disturb apparently,” the brunette replied before you grunted. “Can you turn it off?” You asked until she shook her head no. “Nah, I can’t get deactivate anything during a mission, just the policy aaand, you know, Mig’s rules,” She explained while you got more frustrated.
“How is that even a thing— what the hell..” you groaned. “Can you ask Miguel to let this be an exception?” you questioned Lyla again. “Miguel’s not in right now, busy with another mission,” she responded.
“Knew you’d say that.. always the busy guy.. whatever, thanks Lyla,” you sighed before she disappeared once more, leaving you alone once more on the rooftop. You were so frustrated by Gwen’s absence; where the hell could she be? If not with Miles then where was she? Your thoughts came to a halt when your spider-senses made you turn around. You noticed someone dressed as spider-man with a black and red coloured suit. You raised an eyebrow as you walked over to them discreetly.
They noticed you as their spider-suit’s goggles slightly widened. “Woah- you got fast spider-senses,” the recognizable voice said, staring at you.
“Wait— Miles?” You asked before he nervously chuckled and took off his mask in front of you, his Afro popping out as he looked more buff with the black spider-suit on. It matched him a lot. “What’re you doing here?” You curiously asked, also taking off your mask to see him clearly.
“Me and Gwen was swingin’ around the city and just wanted to let you join,” he responded, looking down at you since he was taller. “We didn’t get a proper chance to talk right? Just wanted to make ya feel included..” he continued, noticing how he was getting nervous when he noticed you didn’t respond.
“Sorry— kinda busy..” you mumbled, looking back down to your watch to see if Gwen finally put that stupid do not disturb function off. She unfortunately didn’t. You were always the chatty type but now wasn’t the time now that you were dealing with a soon-to-be anomaly who knows how to travel through other dimensions. Miles’ eyes softened, he just really wanted to be accepted as another spider-man or as a friend.. but you had other priorities. He was disappointed but hid it well enough, not wanting to worry you. He was silent until he had an idea in mind.
“With what? I mean I can help ya. I know Brooklyn like the back of my hand,” Miles stayed optimistic, wanting to be of assistance. You already knew about Brooklyn's map thanks to Lyla, but you could see that despite not knowing anything about you, he merely wanted to help. You could see yourself in him, as you would always strive to help Miguel in any way you could, even though he was the epitome of independence. Miles also wanted to prove his usefulness in this society Gwen just recently talked about while the two of them were swinging through the city… so he could see her more often... but oh how difficult would it be for him? He spotted the gadget on your wrist and then pointed to it.
“Yeah- uh.. pretty crazy phenomenon right? Travelling to a different universe without your atoms glitching like crazy..” you responded, showing him your wrist as he came closer.
“How’d you get this?” He asked, his hands slowly inching closer to yours to hold the watch with his fingers. You almost flinched and he noticed. Ever since your canon event, you could never rest easy with physical touch.
“You good Y/N?” He inquired, a little worried as his fingers almost retracted. You shook your head.
“Sorry, sorry— my bad, but I’m okay don’t worry bout it,” you reassured as you moved your wrist closer to him, letting him hold your hand to inspect the watch. “As for how I got it.. from where we’re from, we earn them,” you answered truthfully. His hand moved from your forearm to your hand, gently holding it up. You also couldn’t help but notice how his thumb slowly caressed your knuckles, was he trying to be nice or was it just out of habit? You definitely had no clue.
“Who gave it to you?” Miles replied, still holding your hand delicately. He seemed so interested in its design and advanced technology on the orange screen. It resembled to nothing from his dimension nor has he seen anything like it. So small yet intriguing.
“My mentor, Miguel O’hara,” you answered. “He’s like the leader of the entire spider-society Gwen and I are in. It’s pretty cool if you ask me,” you rambled, sharing more than enough.
“Gwen never told me about it..” He muttered, carefully tapping a few buttons to see its functions. You couldn’t see his expression since his head was down, still looking at the screen, before he faced you with a small smile. “What’s it gonna take for the Miguel O’hara to meet Miles Morales?” The tall black teen joked but genuinely asked. You on the other hand didn’t know what to say. There was an explanation for why he couldn’t join but you didn’t want to cause any trouble between the two of them. You gulped down the built-up saliva in your mouth out of nervousness.
“I mean.. if you tryna join… how about we try to catch some criminals on the way while we try to find Gwen? I’m not like- fully certain but maybe after I can put in a good word?” You suggested to try and change the topic as you put your forearm down once he was done inspecting the gizmo. Miles’ smile grew, he wasn’t opposed to the idea and wanted to get to know you better. “Sure, why not? Watch me put ‘em in place,” He replied with a confident smirk before you chuckled.
Your watch then beeped. Your back faced him as you turned around to check what news it had for you. The spider that camouflaged into the wall was recording the Spot’s messy apartment and analyzing his figure. You turned it into a mini hologram, watching in full effect what was happening in that room.
The Spot was walking around in his room, moving box from box to a specific area with mechanics and more collider parts you recognized.
“Oh shit..” you cursed under your breath when you saw how close he was to building the mini-collider.
“Everything okay?” Miles asked, about to peek over your shoulder before you quickly moved away. He slowly retracted, noticing how you flinched as if you were uncomfortable, but you weren’t focused on him anymore.
“Gotta go for now Miles, we can fight those criminals later alright? Sorry ‘bout the trouble,” you apologized quickly as you then put your mask back on. You approached the ledge of the rooftop and were about to jump off the building to swing to the Spot’s location immediately. A frustrated and concerned look was on Miles’ face. The young spider-man just wanted to help yet you continued to push him away. With an annoyed expression, he watched you leave so quickly with your webs. You were so quick, agile and so elegant in the air that he could tell you were much more experienced than him despite being the same age.
Once he was far enough for you to notice, he shot webs and swung himself in your direction almost immediately. It started to get dark as his black spider-suit blended in well with the atmosphere. The black lenses on his mask narrowed as he was more focused on catching up on you. Miles wasn’t dumb enough to believe that Gwen didn’t come back just to visit him, there was at least something else you and her had to worry about.
He saw you shooting out multiple webs under a metro railway from your fingertips as you pulled yourself up with the almost transparent strong strings. Like a flash of light, he saw you dash through in between a train’s cabins. Miles almost thought you got run over until he swung over the railway, you weren’t there like you disappeared. “Damn this girl’s fast…” Miles grumbled, trying to retrace his steps while looking around to try and find you. His stomach dropped at the thought of you finding out he was following you so he turned invisible quite easily just to make sure.
Even when invisible, it seemed like you didn’t let your guard down at all as he still couldn’t find you. He kept asking himself where you could possibly be or why you were here in the first place. There was something wrong but he had no clue of what it could be. He tried to retrace your steps by finding your webbing but they all disintegrated too fast. They’d all fall on the ground and slowly disintegrate since you were in the wrong universe. Frustrated, he almost thought of turning back and going back home until he noticed someone swing through the air as well. He saw the familiar spider-suit, it was Gwen.
Her mask concealed her face as she landed near a pillar supporting the overpass close to the Spot’s apartment. A few meters away, Miles landed on top of a street lamp, discreetly looking at the situation beforehand. There were corps surrounding the apartment with lights flashing to the holes in the walls.
“Shoot..” Gwen mumbled under her breath, in worry she was too late. She rapidly shot a web into the police officer's car, causing it to reverse before swinging inside the building with ease. Miles, on the other hand, quickly followed.
Inside the apartment was a whole mess, messier than before like a tornado merely broke down the building. Gwen stepped inside, looking around to find out what happened with a concerned look behind her mask. She then proceeded to scan the area using the multiversal gizmo while Miles hid behind the air ducts, making sure he wasn’t under the orange light that could point him out.
She looked around, noticing the Spot’s personal belongings like a portrait with Olivia, the spiders he brought from different dimensions, and such. When the scanning was finally complete, the spider-woman then started to replay the entire scenario. The orange light orbs turned back in her direction as they flickered a display of holograms in front of her to show what just happened. “Oh no no no..” She mumbled under her breath as she watched the scene play out visually while Miles carefully eavesdropped.
“Just need to get somewhere with a full-sized giant collider..” The Spot talked to himself as he continued to assemble his small micro-collider. It started to power up, creating dark energy from its sources. “Alriiiight, this’ll work, it’ll be good!” The faceless human optimistically said as he prepared to put his index finger into the dark matter the mini-collider was forming. He whistled as he was about to put it in until he stopped. “Or- I don’t know, might vaporize me and this entire building, which would not be good” He carelessly shrugged.
“Oh shoot..” Gwen muttered while Miles continued to watch as well, witnessing how far his villain of the week was going just to defeat him. They saw how he was getting so close to inserting his finger through the dark hole until multiple webs were wrapped around him, quickly taking him down.
You swung through the mess as you appeared just in time before the Spot could ruin himself with the dark energy. With a quick tug of your webs, you pulled him up from the floor and threw him at the other side of the room with only your hand. The Spot was launched back, breaking multiple walls in the process before he groaned in pain and looked up at you. “Wait— huh? Spider-man? But a woman?” he asked, perplexed as he thought you were his original nemesis. You had your back turned, paying attention to the collider more than him.
“Fuck this is dangerous..” Your eyes narrowed at the sight of the dark matter almost consuming the entire mini-collider, making it impossible to turn it off or break. You were about to inspect it until a sudden punch to the stomach made you nearly spit out saliva out of your mask. It just came out of nowhere through the black hole in front of you. You grunted when you realized it was all Spot’s doing.
“Yeah— sorry, can’t turn it off now huh?” the Spot laughed before it teleported so quickly behind you. His arm then made its way to your neck before he lifted you off the ground, making you choke. “Let go of me weirdo!” you yelled and rapidly kicked him off of you, causing him to almost lose balance. He growled under his breath, sick and tired of being tossed around like a weakling.
Creating a portal, he aggressively punched you through it before you stepped back once it hit your stomach again. He teleported back in front of you when you knelt down and held your stomach in pain. You tried crawling away until he grabbed your neck and shoved you down the floor repeatedly. “I’m tired of being treated like a fucking joke.” He spat as his voice turned deep, distorted and twisted. You winced, trying to push him off with your hands until he gripped your wrists as well. He saw how you had a weird watch on your wrist until his attention turned to the small gadget.
“Ohhh.. what’s that? Pretty interesting..” He sarcastically pointed out before he punched its screen. “Oops,”
“N-No!” You screamed when you saw its screen broken. The gadget started to malfunction, making distorted sounds as well.
“N-nnggh.!” You yelped when he choked you while lifting you up again. He threw you to the wall as you landed on top of the table full of collider parts that pierced through your skin. The Spot then turned back to the mini collider, shoving his hand into the dark energy. It started to absorb him as it generated more spots on his body. You tried to shoot webs to pull him back from the dark power until he was completely absorbed, pulling you into the void as well.
“Shoot..!” Gwen widened his eyes in fear as Miles continued to watch your hologram get sucked in by the dark matter. Once you were pulled in, the replay was complete.
“Oh shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot!” The spider-woman panicked, realizing how bad the situation was. You were in another universe, with no gizmo to help you call for backup nor any help. It was only a matter of time until you would suffer from glitching.
‘Y/N..’ Miles thought of your name, concerned and puzzled of why Gwen was panicking like crazy. She was shaking her head, trying to deny that wasn’t what happened until she took off her mask, breathing heavily out of panic.
With a problem like this, she definitely didn’t know how to solve it..
Tumblr media
You blinked in and out of consciousness before you tried to get up only to collapse back to the floor when your back ached. You looked behind you and saw what you were crashed into, a truck. You looked up as you saw it was raining steadily. That was weird, you don’t remember it already raining when you just collapsed for a minute.
Once you managed to sit up, you realized this place wasn’t familiar at all. You shot a web as you landed on top of a building where you could see everything. But in the end, you didn’t understand.. why was the billboard Japanese.? Or why were there so many Japanese commercials on the skyscraper screens?
“Where am I?”

Hi! May I request a small fic where miles 42 dates a male reader who's very bubbly, glittery, fashionista, and dresses in very bright colors or pastels. Maybe Rio and Aaron finally get to meet him and try their best not to tease or laugh at how ironic it is?
They find it even funnier knowing he's the who's been stickers all of his jackets or just anything that came out of his room.
Got carried away with this one oopsie
take it or leave it.
Miles peeled off his dark green puffer jacket, brushing off stray rain drops that hadn’t evaporated yet. In doing so his fingers ran over something smooth like plastic. Already knowing what it was, he took his forefinger and thumb and removed it.
The face of a rabbit with an ‘x’ for a mouth stared blankly at him. Miles held it up to the light and smiled to himself as little dots of color shifted from orange to green, having a good idea who it was from.
You liked to slap these things everywhere–anywhere–that you could reach. Though you never explained yourself to him, Miles suspected that your reason was the same as his when he spray-painted the walls of abandoned buildings: to make your presence known in a world that seemed set on ignoring you.
Your bleach-blonde curls, pastel shirts and flared pants made you quite difficult to ignore in the first place.
Even Miles, who hid beneath his hoodies and oversized jackets, couldn’t take his eyes off of you from across the basketball court that fateful day as you sat on a bench crowded with your friends. They were dressed just as elaborately, but not with nearly as much variety of color.
One girl draped head-to-toe in black lace and silver jewelry leaned over to whisper something to you. Whatever was said made you turn and meet his eyes just as he caught the basketball that had just sunk through the net above him.
He froze momentarily and could’ve sworn he saw you grinning at him before he started dribbling again.
You were too far away for Miles to commit the details of your face to memory, but he recognized the blonde sitting at the top of your head when you rammed into him in the middle of the hallway the very next day.
Now in full uniform–save for the fashionably-loosened tie–his eyes were drawn to the row of helix piercings lining your right ear, and the faint glow of metallic eyeshadow swiped across your lids with lashes that curled sharply upwards like–
“Yo,” your voice brought him back to reality. “Are you okay? I said ‘my bad’.”
Miles blinked.
“Oh,” he replied dimly.
You laughed good-naturedly.
“Just ‘oh’?”
“I-I mean,” Miles stumbled over his words, “You’re…good. I guess.”
“That’s…good,” you parroted with a teasing smile. “See you around!”
You pulled the strap of your book bag further over your shoulder, causing the cluster of charms and trinkets hanging from it to click-clack together with every bouncy step you took as you weaved through the stream of oncoming students.
That was how it began.
“I think he likes you.”
Sela took a bite of her french fry, which she then pointed towards the next table ahead of her. You followed her line of vision right back to the mismatched eyes that had burned two holes into the back of your skull in the hallway.
And P.E.
And A.P. Bio.
The more you thought about it, the more your friend’s hypothesis began to sound believable.
Still, you shook your head and chuckled.
“He’s definitely straight, first of all.”
“You don’t know that! What happened to not assuming?”
“Hm, I dunno…”
You looked again. This time, Miles was fiddling with the sleeves of his uniform, avoiding eye contact. Presentation aside, you’d never really seen him running with the sort of boy that said “Pause!” every five minutes, so that was a plus.
…Then again, you’d never seen him running with anyone. He even hooped alone. You recalled him making several lay-ups in a row as clean as the twin braids that brushed his shoulders. No team required.
Sela interrupted your quiet deliberation.
“Go talk to him and find out, then. Not like he’s gonna kill you if you ask.”
She tapped her long black coffin nails on the lunch table, awaiting your answer.
“I don’t feel like getting up,” you groaned lazily.
“Fine, I’ll call him over.”
“Hey, wait–”
“Aye, Morales! Miles Morales!”
Miles looked startled. “Huh?”
Sela waved at him while you ran your palm over your face.
“C’mere!”
He eyed her suspiciously, but slowly got up and shuffled over to your table.
“Do you…” he looked around. “Need something?”
The girl gestured enthusiastically towards you, and you rolled your eyes mentally before replacing the irritation with a smile and taking the lead.
“You looked lonely over there, man. Come sit with us!”
Miles bit his bottom lip once you spoke up, appearing to take in a sharp breath before taking the empty seat across from you.
“So do you have any, like, actual friends–? Ow!”
Sela rubbed her arm after you gave her a good smack.
“Sorry about her. She meant to ask if you were doing alright. You seemed kinda out of it.”
“I’m…fine,” he answered slowly.
“Well, that’s good. You were staring at me somethin’ fierce, I thought I had done something to you.”
Miles felt a rush of heat travel straight to his cheeks.
“N-nah, it’s just that–well, I saw you at the basketball court, and…” he trailed off and began messing with the end of one of his braids.
You leaned in closer to hear him better, which didn’t help his situation.
“One more time?”
“I saw you. At the basketball court.”
The teasing grin returned to your face.
“Yeah, I saw you too. What about it?”
He opened his mouth to speak, then closed it, trying to piece the right words together. Then he tried again.
“I liked your ‘fit.”
You held back an obnoxious snort of laughter.
“That’s it?”
“Yeah, you have…good…fashion sense.”
Miles wrinkled his nose. He didn’t even believe his own lie. Why would you?
Mercifully, you narrowed your eyes but didn’t say anything.
“Thanks. You got good taste in sneakers.”
You paused, then added, “Meet me at the basketball court after school and I’ll show you how I put my outfits together. How's that sound?”
The offer hung in the air. Miles considered the possibility that you were just pulling his leg and that he’d wind up standing alone in an empty court, but there was no sign of a joke in your expression.
He shrugged in a fake show of nonchalance.
“Sure.”
The two of you went on like that for two long months. Meeting each other on the court, sitting on the bench and making light conversation while shooting compliments at each other that always just missed the mark of what you really meant to say, until one day you finally got tired of meandering.
“Miles, can I ask you something?”
“I dunno,” he answered, sipping on a pouch of Capri-Sun. “Can you?”
“You promise that if I ask, you’re gonna give me an honest answer?”
“If it won’t get me arrested, sure.”
“Miles, I’m serious.”
Your gaze intensified, making his heart rate quicken.
“Alright.”
“Are you into me?”
His blood ran hot and icy cold at the same time.
The thumping in his chest whenever you got close and he could smell what soap you used, the absent-minded doodles in his sketchbook, and finally, the staring, had been given a name. And in being named, it took on a physical form - something blinding and liquid that shot through his bloodstream.
Miles wanted to be able to say no. Give a straight answer, and move on to a more comfortable topic. But you’d read him like a book the last time he tried to lie to your face.
You noticed his hesitation, and the vice grip he had on his now-empty Capri-Sun.
“It won’t change anything, I just wanna be sure.”
He looked unconvinced. How do you just go back to normal knowing that your friend is in love with you? They could pretend nothing had changed for maybe a couple weeks, maximum, before conversations became clipped greetings in the hallway, then fizzled out into nothing. Impossible.
But again, it was no use lying.
He avoided your eyes as he answered, “I think so.”
Cold, delicate fingers suddenly found themselves beneath his chin, and his eyes widened as you turned his face towards yours.
“Miles, look at me. You either do or you don’t.”
His heartbeat was in his ears now, making his breaths shallow and the veins in his eyes pulse. The setting sun cast a sentimental glow over everything that filtered through your hair. No one else was around, save for the warm breeze.
“Miles, are you good–?”
He pressed his lips against yours before he could stop himself. Your lips were smoother than he’d expected, just slightly tacky with mentholated lip balm.
And, more importantly, they kissed him back.
-
Miles grabbed his sketchbook from his desk drawer and opened it to a page filled with tiny sketches of your outfits. Carefully, he placed the sticker next to the baby blue puffer you’d worn yesterday so that the two of you could be “twins”.
He should really call you, he thought.
-
You sighed, leaning your head back on the couch beneath the cool air-conditioning of Miles’ uncle Aaron’s apartment. The tall, lean man that you’d guessed Miles had probably gotten his accent from (and sayings that could only come out of the mouth of an older man) had gone out momentarily to grab food for all three of you.
Feeling his eyes on you, you turned to your now-sort-of-official boyfriend with a questioning look.
“What?”
Miles was holding back a laugh.
“Why’d you switch up like that in front of my uncle?”
“I didn’t ‘switch up’ anything.”
“I have never heard you talk like that in my life.”
You copied his pose, slouching and man-spreading with your hands resting on your thighs. You flattened and lowered your voice into the boring monotone that teenage boys liked to adopt when they wanted to be taken seriously.
“You mean like this?”
This earned a snicker from Miles, whose expression then became earnest.
“Seriously, though, you don’t gotta do the whole act around my unc. He’s not like that.”
“Then why do you do it?”
The boy paused.
Your observation was correct - Miles tended to lengthen and smooth out his stride when he walked next to Aaron on their ‘grocery runs’. He would remove the playful lilt in his voice, like when you strain freshly-brewed tea, leaving only the mellow liquid behind.
“That’s…different.”
We’re trying to impress him for two different reasons.
You let it go.
“Whatever you say. You are gonna tell him about us, though, right? Since he’s ‘not like that’.”
Miles scoffed, “You’re the one that introduced yourself as ‘a close friend of mine’. I ain’t tell you to say any of that.”
“I wasn’t sure if you felt safe!” you laughed.
“We were holding hands before he even opened the door, he definitely saw that shit.”
“Alright, alright, you win. We’ll both tell him, then. Sound good?”
“Sounds great.”
-
“Miles! Tu novio!”
“Coming!”
Miles padded over to the living room, where you stood in a bright yellow jacket covered in vibrant patchwork, and those jeans with the spray-painted stars all over them. Your hair was hidden beneath a red beanie you had stolen from his closet.
Aaron sipped on a fresh cup of coffee in the kitchen, well-within earshot as Miles greeted you.
“Hey.” The boy smiled, awkwardly sticking his hands in the pockets of his plain, dark-wash jeans.
His mother Rio shut the door and looked on in amusement at the two boys standing in front of her. You would think her son would add some more color to his wardrobe, being with someone that looked like that. But the all-black ensemble wasn’t going anywhere.
“¿Ustedes dos siguen fingiendo ser amigos?” the woman teased. “I’m not sensing any affection over here, guys!”
Miles gave his mom a blank stare, while you laughed. Even months later, the other boy wasn’t one for PDA.
“Oh they real affectionate, alright,” Aaron chimed in.
“Here we go…”
“I go out to get these boys some Domino’s one time, right? I come back up, and these two are cuddling on my damn couch after they told me they were ‘just good friends’. Now mind you, I ain’t believe ‘em for a second–”
“That’s great, unc,” Miles was already tugging you in the direction of his room, “We’re leaving now!”
“Don’t get too touchy in there!”
Once inside, he shut the door behind him. You struggled to suppress a laugh at the weary look on his face as you sat on the edge of his bed.
“She’s kinda right, y’know.”
“About?”
“It wouldn’t kill you to spare me a hug or something, once in a while.”
He said nothing.
You scanned Miles’ bedroom. All of his manga had been cleared off of his desk, and his swivel chair was no longer burdened with a pile of clothes. He just cleaned his room, you think.
The only thing left sitting there was his notorious sketchbook, a ballpoint pen, and a couple of Tombow markers scattered about.
And of course, your stickers.
You got up to take a closer look at the loose sketches and hummed in satisfaction.
“You’re really good at getting clothing folds right. You sure you never wanna study fashion design?”
He smiled, and shook his head.
“I’ll leave the fashion shit to you.”
“We could go to F.I.T. together, you and me.”
Without so much as making a peep, Miles and his long legs had snuck up behind you to wrap his equally-long arms around your waist.
“I’ll visit you.”
“What are you doing?”
“You asked for a hug.”
“That’s not what I mea–”
“Take it or leave it.”
The smell of paint and Jergens lotion enveloped you as you pulled him closer. You inhaled deeply, then sighed.
“You’re real stubborn, you know that?”
His chest shakes as he laughs.
“One of us has to be.”

a theory on ep11’s preview
firstly, if you’ve guessed/ theorized that non was still alive, you get 10 points!
Tumblr media
if you also guessed that perth would help him (in that case, thanks to tee) you also get 10 points!
Tumblr media
knowing that tee helped non escape, was definitely a plot twist. he basically lives at his uncle’s mercy, is forced to work for him and has to follow every single one of his orders so his father doesn’t die. which is a pretty shitty situation!
we saw previously that he showed guilt after non got busted for the fake accounts instead of him, but to help him escape from that very uncle? you’ll never fail to surprise me, tee!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
after that, tee gives an envelope to non and tells him he’ll get him out of there.
now, what is in this envelope? my first thought was obviously money. but i also thought, what if it was a plane ticket? it’d be safer for non to get the hell out of bangkok (or even thailand) to be sure the uncle and his men could never get him. a one way flight, non leaving without looking back.
i think that with the help of perth, tee could’ve gathered enough money to pay a ticket. i mean, that would’ve benefited tee a whole lot too. non forever out of his hair, not causing any more problems. disappearing without a trace. his uncle thinking he got rid of the troublemaker.
but what happened to mr keng then?
firstly we have no idea of the extent of his injuries. we guessed that non’s were only bad enough to knock him out on the roof, but the uncle might as well have killed keng for good.
i mean, he was hit with a car, which is way worse than a few punches. in the best case scenario (for him, cause i want that bastard dead), he only got a few bruises, but the most logical one would be that his legs are broken, as well as a few ribs maybe (depending on how hard the car hit him).
if we assume he’s alive, like non (which i seriously doubt), i don’t think tee would’ve helped him at all. he’s already risking everything to save non, he wouldn’t try saving both, especially because keng doesn’t mean anything to him. he probably never even had a conversation with him.
so in my opinion, we won’t see the teacher ever again, unless he found another way to escape, such as being rescued by the police as his disappearance could’ve been noticed after some time.
now onto the fun part!
Tumblr media
white is seen entering the arcade place, where we’ve already seen non & phee meeting up and making out at.
which means we’ll finally get teewhite whole’s backstory!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
my depressing theory is that we’ll get a cute little montage of their love story, and they’ll show us how cute they are, with their little puppy love, opposites attract shit just to snatch it from us right after.
mark my words, they’ll make us love teewhite and after those little flashbacks with bright colors that distracted us for a moment, we’ll get back to our depressing and dark present.
4 possibilities after that:
best case scenario: while we get a contrast between the past and how in love they were and acted, nothing terrible happens. tee explains to the group what was revealed to the viewer in the flashbacks, that he ended up helping non and that he’s still alive. he righted his wrongs and while white is shaken up, he’s glad tee isn’t just a bully who guilt tripped a kid into money laundering, he did feel guilt and saved him from his uncle.
same as above, tee reveals everything to the group but white doesn’t forgive him. he feels betrayed and mad that tee hid that from him for so long. in white’s eyes, tee is no longer someone he can trust, or hide behind.
tee dies
white dies
while i believe those 2 last options can happen, i don’t think they’d happen at that moment. tee’s reveal scene will probably be at the beginning of the episode while the following one with phee & new may happen soon after, which is why those 2 options seem less likely to happen then.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
new is clearly urging phee on to shoot.
but how? in the last scene of ep10, fluke is the one who has it and he clearly doesn’t want to let it go. he let white out of his grasp and is now pointing it at tee.
but fluke is clearly out of it, and is the one suffering the most from hallucinations, which made him shoot top even though his only principle was clearly to never act, to keep his hands clean of anything that could prevent him of becoming a doctor. too late now!
someone could take advantage of his delirious state and while he’s distracted, take the gun from him, like white, who’s on the ground, kinda behind fluke and now out of his sight. which is when phee could take the gun, as he’s the unofficial new leader and appears trustworthy as he just exposed new.
but who is phee pointing the gun at?
i think it’s most likely fluke. he’s clearly losing his mind and the hallucinations are making him aggressive, like top. which is why they may have to kill him before he kills someone else.
phee clearly wants to make the right decision, surely wants to kill him or just hurt him because fluke is an active threat. but tan just wants to see them all gone! he clearly has nothing to lose left, now that phee exposed him, this is his last chance to avenge his brother.
alternative theory:
phee might be pointing the gun at someone else.
according to how tee’s revelation ends, especially how non’s story ends, something might happen after that.
phee wouldn’t be pointing the gun at someone who didn’t deserve it, who wasn’t a threat to the group.
so why would it be tee? in my opinion, non escaped the country, end of story. but maybe something happened to him just before he could get out. then new would get mad at tee, blaming him. tee fights him. then he would represent a threat. or maybe the hallucinations come back and he gets violent.
then of course new would be happy to see phee shoot tee, who was the whole reason non even got involved with dangerous mafia shit in the first place.
Tumblr media
the last scene is new, lighting a cigarette.
why would he be smoking in the middle of all this? like he has time to do that?
maybe it’s just a meaningless scene they’re throwing in the preview so they don’t have to spoil too much stuff.
but, still, new is the only one who's going through with his plan, and he wouldn’t waste time on lighting a cigarette! unless it’s truly chaos, and like we know, he smokes to de-stress.
creepily, when i saw the scene the first time, i thought ‘this is his last cigarette. they’re holding him at gunpoint and they allow him to smoke one last time before they pull the trigger’ because he’s clearly shivering. but that may be way too far as i don’t think any of them would shoot anyone in cold blood if they weren’t actively threatened.
but a more plausible theory would be that they’re forcing him to smoke. in the scene where new is urging phee on to shoot, phee looks at him ‘like, what the fuck?’ like he’s not liking new telling him what to do at all.
maybe then, phee doesn’t shoot anyone, not fluke, not tee, but instead turns on new and points the gun at him. maybe phee really doesn’t want any kind of revenge for non anymore as his brother became too violent for his liking. but phee wouldn’t shoot new.
he could however hold him at gunpoint, and force him to smoke one of the drugged cigarettes, one with an X. maybe so he isn’t an active threat to them anymore, urging them to kill each other and to cause more chaos. they’d be on equal ground as he’d start hallucinating too.
what do you think?

AUGUST 12, THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
“i can’t even…” mikasa sputtered, running a shaky hand through the sable—and once perfectly coiffed—hair atop her head. “i can’t believe you, eren.” she let the sleek mop of her fur coat droop down her arms, seemingly indifferent as to whether or not it landed on the nearby coat rack. as he watched it collide with the tile floor of their foyer, eren recalled the eight thousand dollar price with a scoff.
“save it, mika.” eren huffed, trying to drown out the sounds of her heels clicking against the floor as she tailed him into the living room.
“oh, trust me, i have. i saved it on the bus. i saved it on the plane. i even saved it on the ride home when it was just the two of us.”
“i meant save it for someone who wants to hear it, ‘cause i sure as hell don’t, mikasa.” he blew the words out as an exasperated sigh.
mikasa barked, the tone of her voice akin to a creaky window. “i’m gonna speak now, and you will hear every word!”
eren could tell just by the way the words scratched against her throat that she was about to lay it on thick. and mikasa had a very poor habit of not knowing when to fucking stop. if he wanted to listen to someone berate him for every mistake he’d ever made, he’d pick up the phone and call his father.
“honestly, eren, do you even want this election?”
“of course i do. do you not see how hard i’ve been working?”
“oh, is that what that was? were you working hard at that primary, because all you managed to do was piss me off.”
“don’t start with me right now. i’m not in the damn mood for this.”
“and you think i am? you think i’m in the mood to be having this conversation?” mikasa laughed, but it felt more like a sarcastically delighted scoff. her eyes went glossy with something familiarly maniacal, and eren could more than tell what she was getting ready to do. arranging a beautiful artillery of words at the tip of her tongue for the sole purpose of destroying him in that very moment. “i mean, do you not realize how lucky you are? you’re smart, you’re rich, you’re handsome, you come from one of the most powerful families in the country. you could have the office right now if you wanted. but you don’t want it.
“i had dreams, y’know. i could’ve been a partner at my firm, but i gave it up. and for what? so you could screw around behind that podium?” mikasa kicked out of her shoes before hooking the heels under her fingers.
eren released the bridge of his nose from the pressing grip of his fingers. “i’ll be at the guest house tonight.”
mikasa only sighed. they seldom got in fights that led to them sleeping separately, but in those rare instances, it was the best (and sometimes the only) option. “right. well, get some rest. we’re meeting with levi tomorrow.”
he took a chance glance into his wife’s eyes—an oasis of grey, brimming with thoughts and emotions of which she had barred his access. save for the frustration evident on all the other parts of her face.
it was so eerily similar to that of his mother. he could count on both hands the number of times she blinked that same world-weary gaze in his father’s direction. how long had she been sleeping in the guest bedroom before she’d considered a divorce?
“yeah. you too.”
14 MAY, SIX MONTHS AFTER THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
“don’t even try to deny it.” mikasa said. a sick, wifely part of her burned with satisfaction at the sight of your infuriatingly beautiful face—cracked into a myriad of distressing pieces, like a plate she’d just struck with a hammer. “and before you ask, no. i don’t have proof.” if she were being a hundred percent honest with herself, it hadn’t even crossed her mind to gather any proof. what had her marriage done to her? she was a lawyer, and top of her class, godamnit! if eren’s classless affair reduced her to a point of throwing around baseless accusations, then she was just as bad as him. which meant that she needn’t waste any more time on this than absolutely necessary. “but i don’t need any, either. i mean, look at you two.”
you scoffed, seeming to forget that your glass was empty and being met with a jarring (and actually rather rude) slurping noise. thankfully, the waiter was there to swipe the glass from your hand before any more damage to her ears could be done. although, mikasa was almost sick with pleasure as she watched your futile attempt at trying not to crumble. “look at—look at what, exactly?”
“i don’t know what it was, but part of me could just tell he wanted you. maybe it was me being his wife and such, but i just knew. that first night i introduced you two, he had this—this hard-on in his eyes whenever he looked at you.” she thought back to that very night. where you’d seemingly been oblivious to her husband ogling you like you were a piece of meat. “but i could deal with that. i could screw him a little more often. we were supposed to be trying anyway. but then,” at the mention of them trying, mikasa caught you shifting uncomfortably in your seat, and thought to herself, good. she hoped your mind would run itself wild imagining all the trying they did.
“but then?”
mikasa had to brace herself. because eren could be as horny for as many twenty year olds as he wanted. he could have as many stupid, meaningless affairs as he wanted. him being unhappy in their marriage, she could handle that. her husband being careless enough to risk his presidency over some college freshman, she could handle that. none of it would’ve been worse than what he actually did. “i think he actually started to like you.”
AUGUST 12, THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
you put your house phone out of its ringing misery with a clipped, “hello,” for you had barely graced past your front door and kicked off your heels when it began it’s treacherous trill.
“bad time?” the voice on the other end answered, a voice you immediately (and with some chagrin) recognized to be governor eren jaeger. it’s smooth and relaxed, like he’s just ran a glass of whiskey down his throat. your drunken timbre feels clumsy in comparison.
“oh.” you realize aloud, situating yourself at the foot of your bed. “hi, mr. governor.”
“unh-unh. what did i tell you?”
almost giddily, you plunged your head backwards into your plush, messy comforter, your house phone still clutched in your fingers. “eren.” a low hum rumbled through the receiver, as palpable as though your ear was pressed against his chest. this was an unbelievably bad time for you. your body was still mangled with remnants of fun. you were drunk, sprinkled in party glitter, and you had sporadically made out with jean kirschtein, so you were a little horny too.
“that’s better.” this was so incredibly bad for you. eren was so incredibly bad for you. he was even more enticing over the phone, if not more so. you were so stupid, and you were so screwed if you stayed on the phone with him any longer.
but, really, you couldn’t help yourself. “well, eren, how’d you get my number?”
“uh, mikasa, actually. she wrote it in my planner.”
“that sounds like her. are you forgetful like that?” in the background, you heard the almost hypnotizing sounds of ice clink-ing against a glass. somehow, you just knew it was scotch he was drinking, and you couldn’t fight the various mental images that came with that knowing.
eren only chuckled, and you could practically feel the scotch roll down his throat. “oh, she doesn’t do it for me. it’s in case her planner gets caught in a fire or something.”
at that, a clumsy laugh punched from your throat. “can’t tell if you’re funny or if i’m just drunk.”
“which do you think it is?” your dress suddenly began to feel like a thousand pounds of hot fur on your body rather than the skimpy piece of sequins that it was. eren did that to you. and when you left an ecstatic giggle in the form of your answer, he only further egged you on in your flustered state. “what, you think i’m funny? c’mon tell me.”
if he were in front of you at that moment, you would’ve slipped from your dress without a second’s hesitation. how crazy would it be for you to take your dress off while you were on the phone with him? it’s not like he’d see it or anything. but you so desperately wanted him to, and the fact that he wouldn’t made you so fucking crazy. “i think that you’re lots of things, eren.”
“mhm, like what?”
“can’t say. i’m too drunk.” you let your eyes press shut for a bit, trying almost futilely to think of anything that didn’t involve flashing the governor of california. “and, hey, why’d you call me, anyway? not that i mind or anything, but don’t you have, like, an election to win?”
eren breathed a sigh—docile, yet so strangely and dangerously persuasive. “yeah, but…talking to you is a lot more fun.”
“noooo, come on. tell me the real reason.”
“that is the real reason. i swear on it. we actually were supposed to call you at some point and congratulate you on the premiere. just figured i should get around to it now.”
“do you call all your famous actress friends at—” you cut your eyes over to the alarm clock on your bedside table. “—almost one in the morning? i mean, you’re lucky i was coming home from a party, and not dead asleep or something.”
“party, huh?”
“yeah.” you actually couldn’t help the way your thighs pressed together. “still got my dress on and everything.”
“really?” the muffled sound of him shuffling in his seat made you pinch your lip between your teeth.
you giggled, a reaction you’d probably have to start getting used to for as long as you were around him. “yeah.”
“bet you look real pretty.” he thinks i’m pretty. you could’ve moaned at the thought.
suddenly, your voice was a higher, breathier octave. like you were whispering the words in his ears. “are you thinking about what i look like in my dress?”
“why wouldn’t i be?”
you wanted to take it further. you wanted to ask him what he was wearing. you wanted to ask him if you were making him hard, although a part of you knew you were. you wanted to slide your fingers under your panties and let him hear just how bad he was for you.
just as desire began to pool in your belly, so did a sharp pang of guilt. married man, married man, married man. but he had thrown a few compliments your way and you managed to forget all about that.
“eren,” how wrong would it be for you to slide your dress up your legs until it bunched at your waist? “you know we...” if you slipped the straps off your shoulders and let the rest fall from there, what then? “we c—”
“i know, i know.” he cooed, and his voice crawled out of the receiver and laced you with something. you needed him to whisper those words over your ears, or between your lips, or against whatever body part of yours he’d just finished kissing. you needed it so bad you could’ve cried. “i’m sorry.”
you sat upright, feeling immediately more sober than you had all night. “don’t be.”
“let me. let me be sorry, because i am.” the way he spoke to you was so toothachingly sweet, you think you would walk yourself off a cliff if he was talking you through it. “‘m sorry.”
your eyes close, and you were not sure if they were fluttering shut from tiredness or pressing closed from angst. the only thing you were sure of was that this conversation couldn’t possibly continue any longer. “it’s alright. i think i should be getting to bed anyway. i don’t usually stay up this late talking to future presidents.”
eren chuckled. “maybe you should do it more often.”
“maybe i should.”
AUGUST 12, THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
“what the fuck,” was how you answered the phone the following morning. you had fallen asleep with it still tucked against your ear and clutched between your fingers, so you’d felt its ringing in all of its chirruping treachery.
“bad time again?” eren responded, his voice tiptoeing over a laugh.
“extremely.” you sat up in bed and took a chance glance at your bedside clock. the only person who could get a pre-eleven o’clock answer from you on one of your off days was hange. and even they knew that the resulting response was usually so grouchy that they’d be better off not bothering. so it all but bewildered you as to why you’d even let eren stay on the phone long enough to come to this realization. “it’s barely ten.”
“so i gather you’re not a morning person?” eren seemed to be the exact opposite. his voice was as brilliantly ecstatic at ten in the morning as yours would normally be after a shot of tequila. it made you want to swing your curtains open and stand tall in the sun, even with the headache spearing through your skull.
despite the small onslaught of revelations, you answered, “if it wasn’t obvious enough.”
“sooo, i’m assuming this is a really bad time to invite you to dinner with mikasa and i.”
“dinner?”
you’re only briefly surprised at his audacity to ask you to dinner with his wife after the night you two had. but then again, you doubt he would’ve even called you if she hadn’t planted your number in his planner. the realization was an emotional whiplash that wasn’t helped by your hungover state.
“uh, yeah. i meant to ask last night, but i guess i didn’t really get around to it.”
i wonder why, you’d wanted to say, but suppressed the urge with a cough. “oh, well, i—”
“and don’t feel pressured to say yes. i know my wife can be a force.”
his wife. the woman who probably awoke him this morning with a smattering of kisses. the woman who felt his arms wrap around her in the comfort of their bed not two minutes after he’d gotten off the phone with you. the same woman whose eyes were filled with nothing but guilt-inducing kindness when she invited you over for golf that night.
the answer should be a flat no. sorry, eren. i don’t think i can do dinner with you and your wife. partly because i’m very obviously and very, very inappropriately sexually attracted to you. and partly because i think i’m a little jealous of your wife. i haven’t quite unpacked that part yet, but i’m sure here—on the phone with you—is probably the worst place to do it. yeah, uh, bye. so, when you fix your stupid lips to say, “eren, the last thing you could ever do is pressure me. of course i’ll go.” you can only assume it’s for those same reasons.

HI!!! CAN I REQUEST THAT SCENARIO YOU SUGESTED??? Lotor telling his child about his story with reader???? I love this purple ass and i miss voltron so much <3
Tumblr media
what was mother like?
lotor x fem!reader
[a/n: don’t get upset with me if anything is wrong I haven’t seen voltron in so long]
[warning: angst : death off screen : fluff ending]
“Father, what was mother like?” Itri asked, his eyes filled with curiosity and wonder. Lotor froze for a moment, as if reliving a moment he didn’t want to relive. Painful memories of a time long since passed still fresh in his mind.
“Father?” He said, waiting for a response. Lotor turned around looking down at his son. His eyes reminded him so much of her and his son too reminded him of her.
His son deserved to know about his mother. But he didn’t want to bring up painful memories he didn’t want to remember. But looking down at his son, seeing those eyes that brought him so much joy before the birth of their son. He sighed, walking towards the empty chair and sitting down.
His son followed and climbed onto his father lap. Lotor couldn’t help but chuckle. Holding his son on his lap, he started to reminisce about the past he spent with her.
“Your mother was, amazing, beautiful, compassionate, feisty, caring.” He said, smiling warmly thinking about her, and then looking down at his son.
“I fell in love with her the moment I saw her.” He said, and Itri looked up at his father and smiled hearing this.
“Yet, we were enemies, she worked with the paladins of voltron. she didn’t trust me.” he said, rolling her eyes and playfully looking down at his son.
“can you believe that she didn’t trust me?!” he jokingly said, causing his son to giggle. “yet, deep down she still cared for me despite being enemies. slowly I was able to both gain her trust and heart.” he said.
“which i regrettably broke when I turned on them while in the quintessence field.” he said, looking down remembering the look of heartbreak on her face seeing him betraying her and her teammates before her very eyes. how she had tears rolling down her cheeks being forced to fight the very person she’d fallen for that she’d opened up too.
he could’ve sworn he saw a single tear roll down her cheeks. “Yet, she did something unexpected.” He said, and his son looked up at him in wonder.
“We give Lotor all the power he wants.” Allura said, looking at him and [Y/n]’s eyes widened, her heart was pounding against her chest.
She didn’t want to kill him, despite all that he was doing now. She still loved him she couldn’t do it. She wouldn’t do it. She looked towards Lotor, it all happened so fast too fast no one had time to react before it was too late.
“She’d put herself in front of me taking in the pure quintessence, sacrificing her life just to save me.” He said, looking down and his son looked up at his father.
“Everyone, was in absolute shock after everything id done up to this moment. She till found it in her heart to sacrifice her life for me in that very moment.” He said, Itri leaned his head into his father’s chest who smiled softly.
“It was in that moment I’d realized my mistake and quickly acted.” He said.
Her entire ship was destroyed her unconscious almost lifeless body floating. Debris floated around her, Lotor took action and immediately, put on his helmet and got out of his ship to retrieve her.
“Y/n!” the paladins shouted, watching as Lotor brought her back to his ship. and left the quintessence field. they couldn’t fly after them so the paladins left the field.
“I’d never been more scared in my entire life.” He said, shuddering slightly as the memory played once again in his mind.
Itri gripped onto his father, “I thought that I was going to lose her, all because of my selfish actions.” He said, looking down.
“But, fate had other plans.” He said, remembering.
[Y/n] groggily, opened her eyes and took in her surroundings. She was no longer in her ship but somewhere else. Galran technology surrounded her and she felt someone holding her hand.
“L-Lotor.” She mumbled, causing him to look up and smile, “Thank the stars, your okay.” He said, gently squeezing her hand and she smiled. “I thought I’d lost you.” He said, and she smiled looking at him.
“That moment, I realized something.” He said, and Itri looked up at him curiously. “What’s that?” Itri asked, and his father smiled, “How much I loved your mother.” Lotor said, Itri giggled.
“What happened after that?” Itri asked, and Lotor’s face went red and coughed slightly. Remembering the not child friendly events the happened after that moment.
“I made her my empress.” He said, and Itri smiled leaning against his fathers arm. All that happened after that seemed to happen so quickly, whatever his mother was planning was big.
“She eventually reunited with her friends, also revealing something else.” He said.
“Y/n!” Everyone shouted, running towards after having not seen her in so long.
“Hi,” she said nervously. Their eyes widened noticing her stomach had grown and the wedding band around her ring finger. She chuckled nervously, looking at her friends faces scratching her chin with her index finger.
“Yep, Lotor and I got married and are expecting.” She said, and she looked at them nervously all of them still in shock she bit her lower lip. Lance walked towards her and placed his Ah f on her shoulder, “It’s nice seeing you again,” she smiled, wrapping her arms around him hugging him.
Allura looked at her worriedly, thinking that maybe Lotor was manipulating her. [Y/n] turned towards Allura and smiled warmly before turning to look towards the others.
“Congratulations,” Lance said, and she giggled placing her hand on her growing stomach.
“You know who was in her belly?” He asked, and Itri shook his head, “You my little star.” He said, and Itri grinned happily.
“She loved you more than anything, and was so excited to finally hold you.” He said, and then he looked down. Almost not wanting to continue on with the story.
“But, fate had other plans.” He said shakily, it had only been a couple of months after the fact she’d seen her friends again. Something happened, that day while she visiting something he’d never forget.
“What happened?” Itri asked, and Lotor sniffles tears rolling down his cheek. It was too much he couldn’t tell his son. He was too young to know.
“She sacrificed her life just so you might be here today.” He said, and Itri had tears welling up in his eyes and sniffled. Lotor held his son close but he couldn’t help but smile tearfully. Feeling a familiar warmth wrap around him, he could hear the faint whispers of a familiar voice.
‘I’m always with you my star’

The Question of Debt
Hi! I've read a few Merlin fics recently where Arthur finds out that Merlin hasn't been paid what he should, if at all, 'cause no-one ever trained him or told him anything about his job. I'd love to see your take on this if you want to write it? With lots of Merlin & knights friendship too. Thank yooou <3 – anon
Read on Ao3
Warnings: none
Pairings: merthur
Word Count: 4232
Look, alright, Arthur does try to give Merlin the benefit of the doubt, but when he walks into his room to see him immediately stand up straight, hide something behind his back, and that something is jingling, what exactly is he supposed to do? Well, if Merlin is to be believed, state his business and leave Merlin to his. But when a pouch of coin leads to a confrontation that reaches far beyond their normal spats, Arthur starts to uncover something very troubling about Merlin's time in Camelot.
”Oh, and you’re King of Camelot now?”
“No.”
“Then what makes you think you can give me orders?”
”That wasn’t an order. It was a suggestion. One you asked for, by the way.”
“Merlin.”
Merlin just grins that stupid little grin that makes the tips of his ears stick out a bit more and Arthur is not being distracted by it, thank you very much. “Did you need something?”
“You’re late. Am I supposed to dress myself?”
”You’d be amazed what most young children are capable of, sire, most of them can actually dress themselves by the time they’re four or five.”
“Merlin!”
“Look, I’m just saying that it’s not a bother if we need to go over it again—“
Arthur picks up a pillow and smacks Merlin on the arm, which makes him laugh, yes, but more importantly it makes him let go of the coin purse he’s holding behind his back. It hits the floor with a clunk. They both look at it. Merlin scrabbles over the bed but Arthur’s faster and snatches it up.
“Hey! Give that back!”
He fends Merlin off with one hand, peeking inside. It’s hardly anything, really. “What is this, your tavern fund?”
“Give it back.”
”Is there something you’re saving up for? A pretty new tunic, perhaps, or one of those reck scarves you’re always wearing?”
“Arthur—“
“Or is this what you’re doing with—“
Whatever he was going to say is knocked out of him when Merlin slams into his side, hard enough to send him stumbling into the wall. His mouth opens in a wordless yell, righting himself and preparing to chew Merlin out because that could’ve hurt, you idiot, what were you thinking—
—and stops when he sees Merlin glaring at him.
Not the play-scowling they do when they’re bantering back and forth, but actually glowering at him like he’s made him angry. It’s enough to throw him off long enough for Merlin to shove the pouch into his pocket and storm past him, mumbling something about how they’re late for things already. He’s left there, staring at the painfully thin mattress with the moth-eaten blankets.
That was…strange.
He gives himself a shake. Merlin got like that about things sometimes, it’s probably not anything to worry about.
***
It’s definitely something to worry about.
Merlin’s never so much as breathed a word about what happened in his room that morning, which is concerning in and of itself. Merlin never hesitates to throw their previous arguments back in Arthur’s face if he thinks it’s deserved—and Arthur will be gracious and humble enough to say it is, most of the time—but he won’t even mention it. He doesn’t bring it up even if Arthur gives him the opportunity, he won’t even acknowledge what happened. And every time Arthur tries to talk about coin, or Merlin’s family, or anything that could be even remotely related, Merlin clams up faster than Gwaine when they say there’s no more ale left.
So, Arthur does what any concerned King would do, and snoops.
Gaius won’t say a word about it, and not in the way he normally does where he says he doesn’t know anything but secretly does. No, instead Gaius gets oddly stern with him. At least, as stern as he ever outwardly gets when he’s talking to Arthur. It’s that strange disappointed-not-quite-angry voice that just makes Arthur feel like he’s a boy again. He tries to sneak in there once when Merlin and Gaius are out collecting pots and nearly gets caught by a patrolling guard and decides that no, he won’t be doing that again.
It has nothing to do with the fact that Merlin and Gaius came back to a cauldron with some sort of potion in it spilled all across the floor. Absolutely not.
Then he goes to ask Gwen. Gwen and Merlin talk about things. Maybe Merlin has talked to Gwen about…whatever that pouch was. But Gwen looks at him with a frown and says that she doesn’t know.
“I’ve never seen him with a pouch like that before. Are you sure it was his? Not someone else’s?”
“He nearly tackled me into the wall over it, that doesn’t sound like something he’d do if it wasn’t his.”
Gwen snorts. “He what?”
“Didn’t work, obviously, he’s not strong enough.”
“Of course not, My King.”
Still, he can hear her snickering as he turns to go.
As a last resort, he turns to the knights.
“I don’t know what that could be,” Elyan says as they take care of their armor after a long day of training, “it’s not like Merlin’s known for hoarding great treasures, he’s not a dragon.”
“Maybe it’s just something of his he wants to keep secret?” Lancelot hangs the training sword back on the wall. “We can hardly begrudge a man his privacy.”
“It was just a small amount of coin. Barely more than a month’s pay.”
“Perhaps he’s sending it to his mother?”
‘“I’ve asked if it’s that, he didn’t answer.”
“Maybe he’s saving it.” They all turn to look at Gwaine. “What?”
”He’s been working here for years, and he’s saved not even a month’s pay?”
“Well, if he’s spending his days in the tavern,” Arthur grumbles and Gwaine laughs. “Are you the one encouraging him then?”
Gwaine laughs again, like Arthur’s made a joke, but when he sees Arthur’s expression, his face falls.
“What?”
“Nothing, nothing.”
If Gwaine is hiding something, then this is far bigger than Arthur thought.
He does not follow Gwaine that night, because he is a King and kings do not spy on their knights, but if he happens to be outside Gaius’s chambers that evening when Gwaine and Merlin are also there, then that’s just a coincidence. A very lucky coincidence.
“Arthur told us something after training, you know,” he hears Gwaine say through the cracked door.
A thunk as Merlin sets down something heavy. “What, that he needs his armor polished until you can all see his face in it?”
“That he found you in your room with a pouch of coin.”
The room goes so silent that Arthur starts to fret they’ve vanished into thin air. He holds his breath.
“That’s all he said?”
He winces at how cold Merlin sounds.
“That and he thought you were spending all your money at the tavern.” Merlin laughs at that. It’s a humorless thing. “He doesn’t know, then?”
Know what?
”No,” Merlin says lowly, “he doesn’t. Did you—“
“No one told him,” Gwaine says firmly and Arthur moves as close to the door as he dares, “he thinks I’m the one dragging you there every day.”
Merlin’s sigh of relief is palpable. “Good. That’s alright, then.”
There’s another moment of silence. Then Gwaine shifts and his mail rasps against the table.
“Was it to send to your mother, then? That coin?”
Merlin huffs. “No. That’s all I’ve got.”
“All you’ve got? But Arthur said it was less than a month’s pay, how—“
“A month? What, for him, maybe. That’s all I’ve ever gotten.”
Arthur blinks. And blinks. And blinks again. That can’t be right.
Gwaine seems to agree. “You—aren’t you being paid more because you’re Princess’s manservant?”
“News to me if that’s true.”
Arthur’s heard enough. He moves quickly and quietly back through the halls, sitting down at his desk and folding his hands. The candle snaps and crackles as he stares unseeing into the shadows of his room.
Two things. First, Merlin is not being paid what he should be, clearly. He needs to go and have a word with the steward, find out exactly what Merlin is being paid, how often, and how much he is owed in lost wages.
Second, Merlin is hiding something. Something that at least Gwaine knows, if not the rest of the knights. And it has something to do with the fact that Merlin is not, in fact, at the tavern nearly as much as Arthur thinks he is, if at all.
Sleep comes fitfully that night.
***
”If you glare at that parchment anymore, sire, you’re liable to burn a hole through it.”
Arthur doesn’t care. He’ll set fire to this whole office if he damn well pleases. Especially this rude, blasphemous, audacious piece of paper.
“How did this happen,” he snarls with enough venom to make the steward and even Leon shuffle, “did we not increase all servants to a minimum payment after my coronation?”
“We did, sire.”
“Then explain this.”
“Merlin was not chosen by you initially,” the steward says, voice remarkably even as Arthur glares at him, “he was appointed by your late father.”
“So?”
“So,” Leon continues, “the King’s appointments exist outside the normal agreements for servants. They have their own terms and conditions, including modified pay rates.”
”Show me.”
The steward gets up and goes to a chest of drawers, opening one and rifling through it. He produces a single sheaf of paper and carries it back over to the desk, adjusting his glasses.
“Here, sire, if you would?”
Arthur does not snatch it, because he is a King and kings do not snatch, and the paper was certainly already torn when it found its way into his grip.
Not for the first time, he wishes his father were somewhere he could talk to him, so he could shout about the man’s hypocrisy for serving the people when he would give them a barely-livable wage and call it fair.
“What is a King’s manservant supposed to be paid?” The steward slides another sheet of paper towards him. “Good. Change it to that right now.”
“Right away, sire.”
“And give him what he should’ve been paid before.”
“How much?”
“As much as he’s owed,” Arthur growls.
“We would only be able to excuse that if we went back as far as your coronation, which would be—“
”Fine, fine. Whatever makes it so you give the man what he’s owed.”
The steward looks far too pleased to carry out the order, which just gives Arthur more motivation to shout at Uther, but he pushes that down because he is a King, now, and kings do not scream at people who do not deserve it, if they scream at all.
“Will there be anything else, sire?”
“Not at this time. Thank you.”
”My pleasure, sire, as always.”
Arthur nods and turns to leave, striding down the hall with Leon at his side. The man is as inscrutable as always, not offering any condemnation or encouragement as Arthur mutters to himself.
“Didn’t so much as say anything, idiot, barely a livable wage for someone in the poorest part of the city, honestly…”
Leon doesn’t say a word until they reach Arthur’s chambers. “If I might?”
“Please, old friend, come in.” Arthur all but collapses into a chair and buries his face in his hands. “I don’t—why didn’t he tell me?”
”Merlin is a private person. It’s likely he preferred not to discuss such things, especially with you.”
Arthur peeks out between his fingers. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Aside from the fact that you’re his employer, the two of you don’t exactly have the…typical relationship between a king and his servant.”
Arthur huffs. “Which is why I thought he’d tell me.”
“Perhaps.”
“I know that tone of voice, or perhaps what?”
“Or perhaps Merlin didn’t know that something was amiss.”
Now Arthur does sit up, frowning. “What do you mean?”
“As the steward said: you did not choose Merlin upon his original appointment. He saved your life and the then King had him assigned to you. He was not trained to be a servant, much less the Crown Prince’s manservant. I seem to remember many complaints when he was first starting?”
“But that’s—but he did get training.”
“Only after he began working for you, and only from other servants who were not experienced with being your servant. The exception to this would be Gwen, but—“
“But I’m not Morgana.”
“Quite.”
Arthur slumps against the back of his chair. The worst part is that it makes a disturbing amount of sense: Merlin fought against him on how he was treated, how Arthur treated most servants, but not about the coin. Because he knew that people deserved to be treated better than that, but he didn’t know anything about how servants were supposed to be paid. And how could he? He wasn’t a servant—he came from a relatively poor village, how could he know? And so when he was asked by the steward originally—and probably with Uther ushering the process along as quickly as possible, he hadn’t known that he could ask for a better wage.
“Damn,” he mutters. Leon hums. “Damn.”
“You have a council meeting in a few hours, sire. The new allocation of funds is likely to be discussed.”
“Wonderful.” Leon chuckles at his tone. “Will you be there?”
“Of course, sire.”
As he goes, Arthur moves to his desk and starts writing out some of the formalities that the steward will need to add to the record. It’s mindless enough work that he starts to wonder about that other half of things. His gaze finds the door where Leon had just vanished.
Did Leon know?
It was almost a certainty. If there was one person Arthur could rely on to know almost everything that happened in Camelot, it was Leon. Something about the man’s quiet nature made him the ideal confidant, not just for the upper echelons but the lower as well. He swears Leon could put together a list of everything he had ever been told in confidence and it would run the length of the city.
So Leon knew, most likely. And with that came the conclusion that Arthur would never, ever be able to get it out of him.
Gwaine was probably the easier bet, but Gwaine isn’t about to come to this council meeting.
With that in mind, he quickly finishes the paperwork and sets it aside before Merlin comes sweeping in to make sure he’s ready. They manage to get there early, for once, and take their places before the rest of the lords come in to talk about whatever it is the lords believe is worth discussing.
“And as the last thing,” the steward says as the meeting winds to a close, “is the budget allocation for this next period.”
“I expect everything is the same?”
“With the exception of the compensation fund we discussed earlier, yes, sire, all the same.”
Arthur nods and moves to close the meeting when one of the lords speaks up.
“Pardon the interruption, sire, but…what compensation fund?”
“It has come to my attention that someone in the castle has not been paid what they are due, and so we are compensating them for their lost wages.”
Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Merlin look at him.
“But surely that is not a sum worthy of factoring into the crown’s budget, so…” The lord trails off as he catches sight of said sum over the steward’s shoulder. He stands up with a horrid screech. “Have you gone mad?”
“Your tongue, my lord,” Leon says lowly, stepping forward, “you will address your king with respect.”
“I’ll address him with respect when he’s not spending a mountain of coin on a single person!” The lord tries to snatch the paper but the steward holds firm. “What is the meaning of this?”
“They were not paid the proper amount for several years,” Arthur says calmly, “we are rectifying this.”
“But this—this—this would put the crown in debt!”
“And any proceedings from a legal standpoint would as well. Or would you rather the crown be taken to a formal trial and then forced to pay owed wages?”
Leon steps up to contain the lord’s fury, but Arthur couldn’t care less. Not when Merlin is looking at him with his mouth open and something suspiciously shiny about his eyes.
He risks only a glance at him before he stands and brings the meeting to a close.
***
”That was good of you,” Gwaine says, quiet enough that it’s hidden under the clang and clash of swords on the training field, “making up his pay like that.”
“It’s what he’s owed.”
”Still.” He wipes his blade with a rag. “Never seen a King stick his neck out like that for a servant.”
“It’s Merlin.”
“That it is.” Their shoulders bump. “Still. Good one, mate.”
Arthur just nods. Merlin is across the field, tending to a table of armor that needs to be repaired. He sees Lancelot, Elyan, and Percival each go up to him in turn, talking to him or ruffling his hair. Even Leon glances over from where he’s supervising a group of younger knights and gifts him with a softer smile.
“He looks happier.”
“He does,” Gwaine agrees, stretching out next to him, “he’s sleeping better too.”
Arthur whips around. “How would you know how he’s sleeping?”
“Whoa, easy, Princess,” Gwaine laughs, “not like that. He’s finally bought himself a proper mattress, that’s all. Heard him talking about it with Gaius this morning.”
“Oh.”
Gwaine chuckles. “Don’t worry, none of us would dare.”
“You’d better not.”
“Oh, I like myself intact, thank you very much.” He sniffs. “Not that you’d actually manage to do that much damage.”
“Keep telling yourself that.”
Gwaine shoves him lightly and they both laugh. It trails off and they go back to watching the men train. At least, ostensibly they’re watching the men train. Really they’re both watching Merlin.
”I wish he’d told me,” Arthur says, almost too quiet to hear. He knows Gwaine does by the way he hums.
They look at each other. Arthur searches his expression for a long moment. Gwaine’s eyebrow twitches.
Tell me, he pleads silently, please, tell me.
Gwaine doesn’t say a word.
With a sigh, Arthur looks back at Merlin. Their eyes meet across the field. Merlin’s brow twitches in a silent you alright? Arthur nods. Merlin grins.
With a grunt, he heaves himself to his feet, readying his sword to go and relieve Percival from his bout with Lancelot, when Gwaine catches his arm.
“Arthur.”
“Yes?”
“Next time you and Merlin go on a hunt, don’t kill anything.”
He frowns, a thousand questions building up on the tip of his tongue, but he nods. Gwaine nods back and loudly goes to make a nuisance of himself.
“Sire,” Elyan says as he approaches, “is everything alright?”
“Fine, fine. Shall we?”
“Ready when you are.”
***
“I still don’t understand why you insist on these hunts,” Merlin grumbles as he shoves something else into a pack, “it’s not like we don’t have food in the castle.”
“Maybe it’s not about the food, Merlin.”
“Oh, so you just want to go kill something. Should’ve guessed.”
He cuffs him lightly upside the head. “Just get the horses ready.”
Merlin grumbles something unflattering about Arthur’s resemblance to his horse as he goes. Gwaine’s words turn over and over in his mind as he packs up the crossbow. He truly isn’t planning on killing anything, but the woods aren’t exactly free of dangers. At the very least, if there are bandits that decide to attack them.
Merlin can say all he wants about not enjoying hunts, but he can’t hide the way his shoulders slump when they leave the walls of the city. He has that terribly earnest and whimsical look on his face as they make it into the woods, the breeze ruffling his hair and the birds calling out from the trees. Arthur has to remind himself to look where his horse is going and not just stare at Merlin the entire time, but Merlin’s not exactly looking at him either, so he can get away with it.
He may have claimed this was a hunt, but Merlin hasn’t seemed to notice that they’re not hunting anything. They pass more than a few obvious deer tracks that Arthur completely ignores and any smaller game like rabbit scatter well before Arthur could so much as reach for the crossbow. Instead, Merlin is in a little world of his own, marveling at the forest like it’s the most splendid thing he’s ever seen.
Arthur supposes he can’t talk, that’s how he’s looking at Merlin.
Eventually, he calls for a break near the river. Merlin just hums and gets off the horse, taking the bit from its mouth so it can graze, and loosening the saddle’s girth. Arthur sets the pack on the ground and rifles through it for their water skins.
“I’m going to fill these up, set up the rest of camp.”
“But we haven’t caught anything yet.”
“No harm in taking a rest, is there? Though if you want to keep going—“
“No, no, rest is good.”
Arthur chuckles as he heads off through the trees, listening to Merlin bustle about behind him. He manages to get down to the river in a few short minutes, holding the water skins under a small waterfall to fill them.
”Hey,” he mutters to himself, “so I’m glad we sorted out the thing with your pay, but now apparently there’s something else I don’t know about. What is it?”
Yeah, like that would work.
“The knights know something about you and I’m worried it’s similar. What is it?”
Also not likely to work.
“I’m worried about you and also quite hopelessly in love. Help.” He scoffs at himself. “I’d have better luck telling my father I want to court a servant.”
He mutters half a dozen more to himself, each worse than the last, before he realizes the sun is going down and he’s been ‘getting water’ for far too long. He drags his feet through the brush as he goes back, still muttering, when he hears something from the direction of their camp. Instinctively, he crouches and reaches for the dagger on his hip.
He peers around a tree and—
Oh.
Oh.
Oh, no.
Merlin is sitting in the middle of camp with golden tendrils of magic—it must be magic, it couldn’t possibly be anything else—creating a suspended web of leaves and flowers in a sphere around himself. Butterflies flit around him like he’s some forest nymph. His fingers move and twirl through the air and it responds to him like a living thing. Arthur is speechless.
Merlin has magic.
Merlin had magic.
And it’s beautiful and incredible and so very Merlin and Arthur is done for.
Just as he’s coming to the conclusion of how irrevocably bollocked he is, Merlin turns and sees him.
The yelp he makes is heartbreaking and all the things crash down around him as he scrabbles away. But he goes too fast and ends up flat on his back, staring at Arthur with his eyes so wide he can see the whites all the way around. Arthur quickly decides that this is unacceptable and Merlin is never allowed to be scared like this, and so he raises his hands in a gesture of surrender.
Merlin doesn’t move.
Slowly, so slowly, Arthur starts to make his way across the clearing. Merlin flinches and bites his lip to stifle his whimpers whenever Arthur accidentally snaps a twig or crushes a leaf. It takes an age and Arthur’s shoulders ache by the time he makes it, but then he’s standing over Merlin and he reaches out a hand.
Merlin takes it. He can feel it tremble.
Carefully, he pulls Merlin to his feet. The poor thing still looks so scared and Arthur wracks his brain for something, anything he could say to make this better, let Merlin know he would never, that it’s all going to be alright…
But he’s never been particularly good with words.
Actions, on the other hand…
Telegraphing his movements so Merlin can stop him, he cups the side of Merlin’s face, feeling his jaw tremble. With a courage he does not feel, he leans in.
Merlin makes a surprised noise when he kisses him, but slowly, slowly, he kisses back.
Camelot could go to war, bandits could ambush them, Uther himself could stride into the clearing and Arthur would tell him to wait.
They break apart but dare not separate, still breathing the same air. Arthur swallows heavily and pulls Merlin closer.
“I’m going to legalize magic.”
Merlin’s breath stutters against his cheek. “You’re—you what?”
“I’m going to legalize magic.”
“So…you’re not going to kill me?”
“No. Never.” He tangles his fingers in Merlin’s hair. “I would sooner throw myself on the sword.”
Merlin huffs a strangled laugh. “Will you kiss me again?”
Arthur doesn’t hesitate.
Gwaine is never going to let him live this down. But he’s the King, so it doesn’t matter.

Izumi being Toph’s daughter could be the reason for her glasses.
No, really.
Okay just follow my crazy for a moment.
No one in Zuko’s family wears glasses, right? And Mai throws knives which requires sharp eyesight to do accurately. So why does Izumi have vision problems?
Let’s consider what probably caused Toph’s blindness. She says she was born blind, so we know it’s congenital. Her eyes appear opaque which sounds like cataracts. Toph mostly likely has congenital catatacts.
Predispositions to congenital cataracts do run in families. If Izumi inherited this condition, she would need immediate surgery to save her sight. Delaying surgery results in the eye never developing properly due to missing out on sunlight, which still results in blindness. But if Izumi’s was caught earlier, they could’ve surgically removed the cataract.
It may sound too advanced but there have been rudimentary catarcter surgies in India since 5th century BC. In ATLA they could even use bending to improve the prognosis!
If all goes well, the only long lasting side effect would be the need for corrective lenses.
Like glasses.
Hello! And thanks for the question!
This is a very interesting theory, but I believe that Izumi is Mai's daughter. She and Mai are practically look like the same person. She also resembles her grandmother.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately I don’t know much about  hereditary eye problems, (but if happens that someone who reads it knows some factual information about it and can give some links I would be very grateful.)
I don't consider the comics and LOK to be a canon (in fact, you're talking to someone who doesn’t even consider the atla third book to be completely canon because of some terrible writing decisions or how the writers treated some of the characters in the third book, especially Zuko , Iroh and Aang, lol🤓). I like to think about LOK as of some sort of AU. And in general, I have almost no doubt that Toph and Zuko actually have a common child in LOK. Like, just look at Lin. She looks like someone from the FN. Her facial expressions, movements, her stubborn, strong personality. Do I at least doubt that Lin is Zuko's daughter? No, for me this is the canon. It's possible that Toph and Zuko got together around the time he and Mai had broken up for a while, or it's even more likely that Zuko widowed and after that he could have got into a long-term relationship with Toph. I don't want to think about Zuko being a widower, or that Mai died - I adore Mai, she's my best girl, my second favorite female ATLA character after Toph. And I LOVE maiko. But we know that in LOK Sokka died early, and Aang died quite early, so anything is possible. But, in any case, Zuko and Toph could have had a long relationship, nothing in LOK contradicts that version. As I recall, Toph mentioned that Lin's father's name was Kanto. Imagine: Zuko secretly dating a woman who doesn't want to be drawn into FN court undercover games, so he sends her love letters and sign them as "Kanto", and there is someone who reads these letters to Toph. God, I love that.
However, Izumi is definitely Mai's daughter.
But this is a very interesting theory, thanks for sharing it!

heelllo, would you mind writing rosita x reader? where rosita is a total bitch towards the reader, one day it went to far and the reader was really hurt by rosita, reader starts to distance themselves to rosita. ( i don’t know what the ending will be but can you please make it very angst?) thank youuu
helllooo anon :D tysm for requesting !! hope you enjoy . this is definitely some angst and i am sorry in advance :) i wanna explain the death warning so bad but it’ll spoil so,,, this story went a whole other direction 😭
warnings: angst. death. no comfort whatsoever. just straight up angst.
a/n: clarifying that i absolutely love Rosita, she’s one of my absolute favorites. this is just a request i’m writing, it doesn’t reflect my feelings on her.
Tumblr media
you knew you weren’t like the others. strong, stealthy, intelligent, you weren’t any of those things. you tried to make yourself believe you were, but you knew the truth. and so did Rosita.
she made sure to remind you every chance she got. spitting insults daily.
it got tiring, and you were nearing an edge that didn’t look far enough for you stop right before you fell. it took a toll on you, but you didn’t know what to do. you didn’t know what you did to make her hate you this bad, especially when you knew she was a good person. just not to you.
you wanted to be good at this; the whole apocalypse thing. but not everybody was made for it, and you were one of them.
you knew your struggles held your group back, it wasn’t a secret. and you didn’t have any doubts that other people thought it too, but never said it out loud just to not hurt your feelings.
“god, can’t you do anything fucking right?! all we had to do was get more food from this place, but you of course managed to find a way to fuck it up because your own fucking stupidity.” Rosita shouted at you, throwing the box of food in the back of the truck.
“we could’ve been out of this place ten minutes ago if you weren’t so fucking stupid and allowed yourself to get attacked by a walker! do you even know how to defend yourself without me having to save your life every damn time?!”
you stayed silent, knowing if you spoke, you would break and start crying. and that is not something you wanted to do in front of her, it would only make the situation worse than it already was. you felt the pressure building up in your throat, and the waterworks behind your eyes.
she scoffed when you didn’t answer, “whatever. just get in the fucking car so we can leave already, if you can even do that right.” she mumbled the last part under her breath, but it felt as if she said it out loud. you got in the car and looked out the window, preventing Rosita from seeing the tears welling in your eyes.
the drive back home was silent, like it always was when you and Rosita went on runs together. you weren’t sure why Rick always assigned you to go with her, knowing the way Rosita acted towards you. maybe he thought one day your “feud” would be resolved and everything would be normal. he couldn’t be anymore wrong.
Rosita pushed the stick to ‘P’ and got out of the car, lifting up the trunk. you followed her, grabbing one of the boxes of food. you both started to make your way to the pantry room where Olivia was so you could put away everything you got.
when you made it to the doorway, your foot got stuck on the small ledge, causing you to fall with the box in your hands. one of the glass bottles fell out, breaking and spilling everywhere. your heart dropped, and you didn’t dare to look up to face Rosita.
“Olivia- i’m so sorry.” you spoke, voice shaking like crazy. “i tripped on the ledge and-“
“Y/N, sweetie it’s okay.” Olivia spoke softly, and it comforted you almost immediately. “a lot of people trip on that ledge, including me.” she chuckled. you wanted to laugh along, but you looked up and saw the hard expression on Rosita’s face.
when you stood up and brushed off your jeans, Rosita gripped your arm and pulled you outside. “what the fuck is wrong with you, Y/N?!” she yelled. Olivia ran outside with you two, but realized she couldn’t do anything now to defend you.
“every fucking day you ruin something. either it’s a run, when you’re on guard or just doing the simplest fucking task like putting away food! you’re useless, you’re so fucking useless! why did Rick ever take you in his group? you bring nothing to offer, you’re not smart enough for this, you’re not strong enough, and you certainly are not made to live. everything would be so much fucking easier if everyone finally decides to stop saving your life all the time and just let the walkers eat you.”
there was no words you could think of that could describe what you felt right now. it wasn’t anything like you felt before. you felt numb, but still in pain. nothing could possibly hurt more than Rosita’s words.
you looked up with tear filled eyes, and noticed that others had heard what she said, including Rick, and practically your entire group. humiliation took over your body.
you couldn’t take it anymore, and turned away from everyone, running back to your own house. the one you lived alone in. “Y/N!” Rick shouted, but you didn’t even turn your head back. you slammed the door behind you, locking both locks and shutting your blinds.
a sob left your lips, and you fell into the corner of the room. you hugged your knees, unable to stop the crying now that you were alone. each sob burned your throat.
nothing could fix the words Rosita said to you, she had officially gone further than you thought she ever would, and that was your breaking point finally. her words sunk into you, every other word repeating inside your head.
useless. you were useless.
someone started to knock on your door, but you ignored it, continuing to cry out every last emotion you had left. they continued to knock for almost ten minutes before finally giving up. you watched their shadow walk away, and noticed it was Rosita.
for the rest of the day, you stayed inside, barely moving. it felt dramatic, but you knew it wasn’t. you couldn’t think of another way to go on about your day after being humiliated like that.
as the sun got lower and Alexandria fell quiet, you knew everyone was finally heading to bed. you got up from your spot and went upstairs into your bedroom.
you opened your bag up, throwing in everything you owned, which wasn’t much at all. you straightened up the entire house, even going as far as perfectly making the bed so it looked like no one even lived there.
when you were done, you zipped up your bag and left your house, heading towards the gate. you were leaving Alexandria because Rosita was right, you were useless, even you didn’t know why Rick decided to take you in.
you grabbed onto the gate and pulled yourself up until you managed to jump over it. you landed on your feet, and started to make your way down the abandoned road. it was so dark out, but you continued your way.
you headed into the forest, going in no particular direction. you weren’t sure how far you would go, or how far you would even make it. it wasn’t your priority though, you just wanted to escape and get away from everything.
after a while, you stopped walking and leaned against a tree. with how late it was, you were already feeling yourself grow tired. you sighed, hitting your head back against the wood.
you looked up at the sky, watching the small stars twinkle individually. they were so pretty, you pouted at the fact that you never admired their beauty like this until now.
tears unexpectedly filled your eyes again and you looked down to wipe them; even though there was no one there to hide them from. everything had started to flood back, and Rosita’s voice rang in your ears. so much for five minutes of peace.
you dropped your head into your knees, sobbing quietly. you wished this could’ve just been a nightmare that’s been going on for too long, and soon you’ll wake up in your own bed, walkers nonexistent, and you would’ve never met Rosita.
a particularly loud sob left your lips, and they didn’t stop coming out after that. you were letting everything out, there was nothing else to do. you couldn’t hear anything but your sobs.
as your cries continued, teeth plunged into your shoulder. your eyes widened as a pained scream escaped your lips, echoing throughout the forest. you pushed the walker off of you to the best of your ability and stood up, pulling your knife out. you drove it into its head, pushing it to the ground once it was dead.
you touched your shoulder, whimpering at the pain and terrified by the amount of blood on your hands. you couldn’t process it; you just got bit.
you fell to the ground, breathing heavily. suddenly, footsteps starting to run towards you, and you assumed it was another walker coming to finish the job.
“Y/N?!” a voice yelled. it was Rosita.
you sighed, closing your eyes tightly, begging now for this nightmare to be over. “oh my god.” Rosita mumbled.
“what the fuck are you doing here?” you asked. “i was following you to talk, but i lost you. until i heard you scream.”
you scoffed, “there’s nothing to talk about. go home.” Rosita lifted you up, helping you sit against the tree, and you hissed at the way your back hit the wood.
you already felt yourself become weaker by the second, staring at her with hooded eyes. Rosita didn’t look mad or frustrated, she looked worried. this was the first time she’s ever given you a look like that.
“go home, Rosita.” you said again. “you’re- you’re bit. i can’t leave you here like this.” she said.
“this is what you wanted.” you retorted. “you would’ve had no problem leaving me here if the situation was different.”
“Y/N, i came to apologize.” she said to you. “i don’t need an apology, Rosita. because you’re not going to mean a single word you say, and don’t try to make it seem like you will. and either way, it’s too late. just go home.”
“i’m not letting you die alone.” she argued.
your body went limp against the tree, the effect from the bite happening sooner than you thought. “i’m so sorry, Y/N.” she whispered, and you noticed tears lining around her eyes.
“i want you to listen to me, Rosita.” you spoke, voice becoming weaker as well. “just this one time.”
“not everyone was made to live a life like this.” you told her. “it’s something you don’t have to think much about to realize.”
she nodded, sucking in a deep breath to hold in her tears. “i know. and i’m so sorry for the way i treated you because of it. i’m so sorry.”
“sorry will never be enough for the words you’ve said to me.” you said quietly. “you can’t take those back.”
your eyes shut, but you never opened them again. “Y/N?” she asked, shaking your shoulder. “no- no, Y/N. wake up!” she yelled.
Rosita put her hand on your heart, there was no beat anymore. a shaky hand went over her mouth, but she only had a few more minutes to react. with her other hand, she reached for her knife.
she hesitated, but pushed the knife into your head with a cry from her lips. she took it out, immediately wiping your blood off.
with one more deep breath, she lifted your lifeless body and started to make her way back to Alexandria. she couldn’t leave you there.
“open the gate!” she yelled from outside, and a few moments later it opened. Rick and the others had known she ran out looking for you.
when it fully opened, Rick and Michonne were already standing there, waiting to see you again.
Michonne’s mouth dropped open as sobs now ripped through her body. Rick stared with wide, glossy eyes, not knowing how to process the sight in front of him.
Alexandria was quiet, the only sounds left being the cries that left Michonne’s lips. “she- she was bit.” Rosita said, words shaky.
it only made Michonne cry harder, and Rick took two stiff steps closer, taking you out of Rosita’s arms. he spotted the bite mark, shakily exhaling. he didn’t say anything to anyone, silently taking you to the empty field of grass next to the houses.

Okay okay I see your point on how in the comics the shock alone could kill her, personally I don’t think the shock ALONE killed her. I feel like no matter what Peter did she would’ve died anyway, either she would’ve hit the ground at a high enough velocity that her bones would’ve shattered or just her skull would’ve shattered causing her to die, or (what actually happened) is Peter webbed Gwen and the force that changed her center of gravity was so strong that it broke her back and caused her to die.
But now I bring you, The Amazing Spider-man 2 movie. HEAR ME OUT HERE OKAY!! The movie is technically a canon of its own so I will be using this as reasoning 😈
In Tasm2 during Gwen’s falling sequence you can clearly see her, her eyes are open and her body is moving, her hands are out and she is reaching for Peter to save her (like he did in the first movie when he threw her out of the window while fighting Doc Connors and caught her with his web) Gwen is actively moving and if I’m not mistaken she also yells peters name during this time.
Gwen wouldn’t have died of shock here because if she actually was in shock it would’ve started the moment Harry dropped her. With this there are still only two ways she would’ve died, hit her head, or broke her back like what ended up happening. We all know either way Peter would’ve blamed himself but I argue that a third outcome could’ve happened. If Peter was just a little bit faster and if he was less focused on Harry and the clock tower I believe he actually could’ve saved Gwen instead of breaking her spine.
I KNOW YOURE MAINLY A COMIC BLOG BTW BUT I JS LOVE THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN AND NEEDED A REASON TO TALK SBT IT THANK YOU 😄😄
thank you for this delightful ask about the horrific manner of gwen stacy's death!
oh yeah no sir no question, in tasm2 peter was just too late. gwen’s head hit the ground. you hear the sound. she hit the ground. harry took it and threw it on the GROUND.
absolutely the tasm2 movie (and no way home that followed) kind of make it clear that peter underperformed. he was too slow. but. but.
but.
i think in tasm2 it's kind of more complicated. in 616 gwen is entirely passive. to the point where she is completely immobile. she isn't aware of what's going on around her. she's unconscious before the fall, she's powerless to do anything that could've prevented her demise. it's all on peter to save her.
gwen in tasm2 – she's – she's a little different.
Tumblr media
they kind of hammer this one home. fact is, if gwen had listened to peter. she would, in all likelihood, still be alive. peter tried. he wasn't too late. he tried to prevent it, before gwen was in immediate danger. he did what he could. it wasn't enough to stop gwen, but – what else? lock her in a basement? what can he do? gwen could have made the choice to stay out of the way and stay alive. it was not all on peter. he did what he could.
so. i don't think it's fair to tasm peter to say he didn't act in time. he in fact, acted ahead of time, gwen didn't listen, gwen got herself into trouble, and, despite peter doing everything he could, he couldn't save her. that responsibility should not have been on his shoulders. gwen should've been out of the line of fire, like he tried to do. he shouldn't bear that guilt. it was not his fault. it was gwen's choice. it was gwen's.
Tumblr media
and unlike 616 gwen, i bet we do know what tasm gwen was thinking in her last moments.
Tumblr media

oooooh lord i fucked uuuup why did i do it to myself ohhh god gwen what have you dooooone ouuuugghhhhh one last big fuck-up way to gooo gwen no coming back from this one ouuuuuughhhhhh
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
long and short of it. andrew garfield IS NOT GUILTY of the death of gwen stacy. she did it to herself and she did it to him.

idk if you like taylor swift, but for sleepover can i request something inspired by any of these lyrics from midnights w/ ted :> (i picked multiple for variety ig)
1. can i ask you a question? did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room? (question)
2. karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me (karma)
3. what if i told you none of it was accidental and the first night that you saw me, nothing was gonna stop me? (mastermind)
my brain wants to use all three so i’m gonna try! y/n/n means your nickname fyi :)
it was a rare occurrence that ted streamed and he wanted to do one with you so, you jumped at the chance. your relationship wasn’t public yet but the fans had an idea of what you two were. the stream itself was a chill laidback stream, you two playing minecraft together like the old days. you started humming along to question when ted, being the cheeky fucker he is, asked you if you’ve ever been kissed in a crowded room. “well y/n/n have you?”
your mind flashed to the first time you and ted kissed. it was the first time you met for that matter, at a party your friends dragged you too. some guy was creeping on you all night and ted came to your rescue. he grabbed your shoulder, “there you are baby! i knew i’d find ya. is this guy bothering you?” he smiled at you knowingly.
the guy was hesitant but backed off for the time being. “thank you so much.” “no worries, ‘m ted. what’s your name angel?” and you introduced yourself to him, not knowing what you got yourself into. you spent the rest of the night talking and flirting, making jokes about how he saved you from someone horrible. the same creep kept looking at you up and down, not believing the ruse. “quick, do something he keeps looking.”
ted grabbed your face in his hands and kissed you gently. the creep rolled his eyes and gave up on you. “i’m so sorry! i should’ve asked you first.” the taller man started fiercely apologizing. “it’s alright ted, i kinda liked it.” you smiled up at him, kissing his cheek.
you reminisced on that night that started your friendship, and eventual relationship two years ago as you told the story, avoiding using ted’s name. the chat had suspicions about who your mystery man was. “chat, let’s just say a guy on the screen comes straight home to me.” was your response with a wink.
the stream ended and ted looked at you and revealed something about that night. “would you believe me if i told you i set everything up so i could talk to you? nothing was accidental, that first night we met.” he then went on about how he had one of his friends hit on you so he can swoop in and save you. “i can’t believe you teddy, i actually fell for a classic play.” “i hope you’re not mad at me angel.” he frowned slightly, causing you to kiss his cheek and reassure him. “i can never be mad at you teddy. i love you so much. if you wanted to talk to me that badly though you could’ve just came up and asked me ya dope.”
ted’s arms wrapped around you in a tight embrace, “i know love. but i’m your dope.” “forever.”

[Sumeru Tavern]
Dori:Aether! Have you seen Kaveh? It’s time for me to collect.
Aether:Uuuuhh-
Dori:Stop! You’ve said enough. That alone told me he’s here and told you to say “You didn’t see me.” Let me guess, men’s room?
Aether:….Am I allowed to speak know?
Dori: *sighs* To think a day early on payment has him shaking. I’d collect tomorrow but I have to go on a trip. Kaveh is an intelligent person. I know he’s saved the appropriate amount after his recent commission. What could be the hold up?
Aether:I think anyone would be slightly scared of the person who made them sell their home.
Dori:Kaveh is homeless?
Aether:What?
Dori:What?
………
Aether:Didn’t you…overprice Kaveh or something?
Dori:Overpri- KAVEH! YOU HAVE THREE-
The man already walks out before she could finish that probably real threat.
Kaveh:Stop shouting. You’ll cause a scene! Anyways I still have to cash in-
Dori:Do you have people believing I put you out of a home?
Kaveh:What? I never said that. The project crippled my finances and I owe you money but I never really said…hmm *rubs chin* Okay, I can see how that impression was made.
Dori:Kaveh! That’s slander!
Aether:Wait, Dori didn’t bankrupt you? I heard you had buy a bunch of stuff with your own expenses.
Dori:*slowly turns*…
Kaveh:Who told you that? The situation is more complicated than that. *rubs head* I guess that might be my problem. I tend to avoid topics about my living situation so someone got the wrong impression.
Aether:(Or you were drunk…)
Dori:I commissioned and paid for his work, like I was supposed to. How would I scam a person when I’m the consumer and could afford it!?
Aether:To be fair, you’d find a way.
Dori:Yeah, with haggling! That’s fair game and once again, I’m the consumer. Nobody knows a good deal like I know a good deal. I also know I wasn’t a fan of the location Kaveh wanted for my original house!
Kaveh:The cliff side was a gorgeous backdrop and you would’ve loved it!
Dori:It literally could’ve been anywhere and you insisted on the place that not only you liked, but The Withering loved!
Aether: Original house? It was ruined by The Withering!?
Kaveh:Roughly 70% in fact…
Dori:My hard earned mora, completely wasted! All the resources I bought were no longer good and my palace became a dream I was content with abandoning. I neither cared about it being built nor did I ask you to compensate me for it.
Aether:Wouldn’t have counted as a natural disaster?
Dori:An avoidable one if he had listened, but I let the artist have his way after obsessive insisting. Regardless, I was ready to wipe my hands of the situation, but it was Kaveh who couldn’t let it go!
Kaveh: Your alace is my Magnum Opus; the pinochle of my efforts in physical form. There’s no way any self respecting artist would let that go unfinished!
Aether:*eyes widened* So you paid out of pocket to redo it!?
Dori:Oh no, dear Kaveh did more than that. Like any crazy scholar graduate, he paid for the things he wanted, then pleaded for me to cover the rest of the finances he couldn’t afford in this project I had lost time, money, and interest in.
Aether:….Kaveh.
Kaveh:What!?
Dori:However, I’ll hand him a bit of credit. Despite the fact he was clearly doing this to satisfy his own ideals, I can respect a individual not willing to buckle for them. So yes, I paid the remaining costs of his pride, but not for free.
Aether:So that’s the debt. I can’t even say you got away with a free house, because you didn’t.
Dori:I’m a good talker, but nobody is that good. Anyways, it’s not like I didn’t give him anything worthless. Being your benefactor has introduced you to a several recommendations and work. Knowing you, it probably isn’t stable income because you continue to spend for your dream.
Kaveh:That’s…complicated as well. Putting that aside, I’m not advertising my situation and didn’t go spreading around false accusations.
Dori:Of course. You’re not the type. You would however make a complete mess out of a simple situation. I could refer you to a very savvy financial advisor if you’re-
Kaveh:Not a chance. It’s either you or a book of common sense.
Dori:And just like that, you’re a little sharper. Well I business to attend to. Kaveh, there’s a job regarding a fountain you may want when I get back. Until then, might as well enjoy a meal with Aether. He’s actually eating for free. *walks away*
Aether:(I am?)
Kaveh:*sits down* Sometimes I really can’t deal that woman. I’m drained! So, I can order anything?
Aether:Uh, knock yourself out. Get leftovers if you want. (She didn’t even mention the bill again. Maybe because she’s actually a day early?)
He glances towards the tavern owner as they take a bag of mora from Dori. Guess she has tab here and today it was used.
Aether:(Guess I shouldn’t be surprised, given her discounts for me and her past- oh!) Kaveh, question. So clearly not everyone knows the extent of situation properly, yet you still work with Dori despite the drama.
Kaveh:No matter how you look at it, I could only build my dream because of her. She’s one of the few clients that allows nearly complete artistic freedom. I’ll always grateful for that. I just wished she cared about more than money!
Aether:….So why didn’t you just offer your future services for dirt cheap in exchange for living in the palace as a way of managing your debt, having a home, and keeping an eye on your art.
Kaveh:…..
Aether:It never crossed your mind, did it?
Kaveh:*puts head on table*
Aether:Hey Boss, give this man your finest wine!

Tumblr media
She was alright. That’s all he could think about. She was getting better grades, she spent her time laughing with her friends, and she even made up with her brother. He knew all that because he saw her during meals. He only went so he could watch her. Never once did she ever look in his direction.
To distract himself from that fact, he spent his entire time mending the cabinet. He had made it to the final shelf of the restricted section. He became more anxious as he finished every book but with no avail. He could only visit the restricted section at night, so the dark circles under his eyes were becoming darker and darker.
He knew that if she was still with him, she could’ve urged him to sleep. She would have interrogated him to find out about the cause of his lack of sleep. She would’ve held his hand as he confessed. She would’ve kissed him after and did everything in her power to help him. The scenario was all he thought about during divination.
He didn’t notice the way the bell rang and all the students left the classroom. His eyes followed her as she stood up from between Weasley and Potter. Professor Trelawany tapped his shoulder and she said in an ominous voice, “You shouldn’t worry about her. You’re fated. It’s in the prophecy.”
He only nods as an answer and lifts his bag and quickly leaves the classroom. Professor Trelawney was truly a nut job, but he stopped in the middle of the stairs to think about what she’d said. He turned around, climbing back up and asked, “Excuse me, what do you mean, Professor?”
“A few years ago, I made a prophecy that she would end up with the enemy. Either the Dark Lord is very charming or you’re the one for her.” she giggled and spun around in an odd way. That made him a few steps away. He nodded gratefully and he left the classroom. They were fated.
The thought brought a smile to his face, and it settled a pain in his heart. It didn’t matter if they weren’t together right now because they would end up together. He runs down the stairs and he rushes to find her before she reaches her next class. He reaches the end of the staircase and he hears her laughs coming from the end of the hallway.
“Y/N!” He calls for her and he runs to her with a smile. Potter and Weasley turned around before she did, and they both glared at him. He ignored their looks and he said, “Can I talk to you?”
“No.” Harry replies and Draco sneers at him, “I wasn’t talking to you.” He looks at her and his gaze softens immediately. He waits patiently for her answer, and she shifts on her feet awkwardly. She bites her lip then whispers, “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“No, you’ll want to hear this!” he says, excitedly. She licks her lips, and the bell rings, saving her from answering. She points behind her and she says, “I have class, I’ve got to go.”
He nods and he watches her turn around and walk away with Weasley and Potter. His chest sinks as he remembers that she’s got a free period right now. People look at him and whisper which has been going on for the past month and a half since his outburst in her herbology class. He sighs and turns to walk in the opposite direction, heading to the room of requirement.
***
“Treacherous little bleeder, is there no one we can trust?” Ron says, as soon as they’re done apparating from the Lovegood home. Harry and Hermione are panting. Y/N hangs on to Ron’s arm to stabilise herself. She’s the one with the least apparating experience. She says to him, “They kidnapped Luna because she supported us, he was just desperate.”
“I’ll do the enchantments.” Ron sighs, and he turns around. Hermione sets her large bag on the ground, heavily and brushes the dust from her clothes. Y/N sets a hand on Ron’s shoulder and goes to help him. She brings out her wand before she sees three large men.
Ron grasps her arm and pulls her back. One of the men looks at her with a vicious grin, looking her up and down. Ron’s grip on her arm tightens, noticing that. Harry notices and looks at the three men, suspiciously.
Another man is leaning against a tree. He’s playing with his tie between his fingers. She assumes he’s the leader. He looks at Hermione and says, “Hello beautiful.”
He takes a few steps towards her and she mirrors them backwards. In a second, they all start running away from the men. The leader rolls his eyes, but stays still. He orders, “Well, don’t hang around. Snatch them!”
All the men start running after them, but Harry, Ron, Hermione and Y/N were much quicker. Behind Y/N, there was a man nearing Hermione, so she cast a spell, sending the man flying backwards. That was all it took for all the men to start firing spells.
None of the spells hit them, the men had horrible aim. Instead, the spells hit the trees, the debris hit Y/N on her back, causing her to let out a small scream. They all continued running, as fast as they could. The snatchers were starting to fire more violent spells.
One of the men fires a binding spell. Ron pushes Y/N out of the way, and he falls to the ground with a tight red rope gripping his ankles together. Y/N sinks to the ground beside him and casts a shielding spell around them, as Ron uses his wand to try to break the spell.
Hermione and Harry continue running and she pays them no mind as she focuses on shielding them from four snatchers aiming at them. Ron used several spells on his ankles but none of them worked. He used his wand to point at her and turned her hair blue and he made her face look fatter, and her nose slightly bigger. The leader of the snatchers shot a violent spell that broke the field around them.
The men leaded down and two of them held Ron while the biggest one of them held her. They dragged them both to where Ron and Hermione were. Hermione looked intact despite the tight grip the man had on her arm while Harry’s face looked weird. Hermione must’ve cast a spell on him.
The leader walked to her and grabbed her face. He pulls her face closer to his and her face twists in disgust. She spit on his face and he looked at her with a wicked grin. He raised his hand and a slap landed on her face. Her cheeks turned red and her head started to throb at the action. He says, “You need to learn to behave yourself.”
“You’ll regret that.” Harry shouts at him after he sees the man hit his sister. He struggles against one of the men’s grip. The leader looks at him, and walks to him with pursed lips. He grabs his sleeves and tugs them down. He looks at Harry and says, “What happened to you, ugly?”
“What’s your name?” the leader asks, and Y/N hopes that her idiot brother isn’t dumb enough to say his actual name. Harry resists the man’s grip, but when it proves to be useless, he stops and says, “Dudley.”
The leader snapped his fingers at one of his men, the man wasn’t restraining any of them and he brought out a paper. He scanned it and then shook his head. The leader clicked his tongue then said, “We’ll bring them to the manor.”
They apparate to a large black dark manor. They walk towards a gate, Harry’s walking the first one with the leader holding his jacket. She’s the last one walking with Ron beside her. They are near the gate and she can see Bellatrix Lestrange waiting for them behind it. Y/N fists her arms angrily at the sight of her.
The leader presses Harry’s face against the gate and she can see harry groan in pain. Bellatrix looks at the leader unconvinced, but then he lifts Harry’s bangs up and there is a faint look of Harry’s scar. Bellatrix opens the gates and they get pushed inside the manor.
They’re near the door when Bellatrix opens the door and Lucius Malfoy greets them. A shudder runs down her back, realising who’s manor this is. Bellatrix whispers something in Malfoy’s ears and he walks up the stairs.
They’re pushed inside the manor and they’re met with Narcissa Malfoy. Bellatrix grabs Harry from the snatchers grasp and throws him on the ground. She goes to hold him up by his hair, pulling him. Harry lets out a pained noise and Y/N scrunches her face at the unpleasant noise.
The rest of the snatchers hold Ron, Hermione and Y/N behind Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy. Draco walks down from the stairs and the first thing he sees is them. He looks at Ron and Hermione with a neutral expression. He moves to look at her and his eyes widen before he hides his surprised expression quickly.
“Tell me Draco, is this him? Is this Harry Potter?” Bellatrix says as she pulls Harry by his hair tighter. Draco looks at him and he looks back at Y/N for a second before snapping his eyes back to Harry in front of him. This was surely Harry Potter, but instead he says, “I can’t be sure.”
Lucius walks to Draco and grasps his neck tightly. He whispers in his ear something that she doesn’t hear, but she could see Draco’s body become even more tense. The leader seems to have heard because he walks to Lucius with his hand on his hip saying, “Now, I hope we won’t be forgetting who actually caught him.”
“Do you dare talk to me like that in my own house!” Lucius shouts at him and Narcissa walks to him, whispering soft words in his ears. She pulls him back to where they were standing. Bellatrix looks back and looks at Y/N. Bellatrix drops Harry to the ground and says to Draco, “What about that one? Is it the girl Potter?”
She feels her blood run cold, and Draco turns around to face her. She can’t recognise the look on his face, but Bellatrix rushes behind him and pushes Draco closer to her. Her body turns to stone as he comes closer to her for the first time in ten months. Bellatrix presses, “Well…”
Draco hesitates in saying anything, and Lucius starts to become anxious beside Narcissa. Lucius moves to Draco and he shouts, “You’ve fucked her for a year, you can remember her face!”
The shouts along with the words bring her face in a scrunch and makes her flinch. She could see Harry resisting the urge to punch someone. In a second, Draco’s face turns into a vile sneer. The same one he used to give them a long time ago. Draco grins at Lucius, folding his arms over his chest, “I wasn’t really looking at her face, father.”
The men all laugh at Draco’s words and she feels her face flush. He scans her body from top to bottom and he licks his lips. Draco bites his lips then says, “But, no it’s not her.”
In a second, Bellatrix walks to one of the men who was holding the sword of Gryffindor. They continued talking but Y/N couldn’t hear what they were saying as she continued to look at Draco who was looking at her like she was his next meal.
Bellatrix screams at the snatchers till they leave. She goes to Hermione and grabs her collar. She pushes Ron and Harry to Peter Pettigrew and he takes them down to the dungeons. Ron struggles against Pettigrew’s grip. Bellatrix points to Y/N and says, “Bring her to me, we’re going to have a girls chat.”
Bellatrix brings out her dagger and drags it across Hermione's jaw. Y/N’s blood runs cold, and Draco’s eyes widen. He shouts, “No!”
Lucius, Narcissa and Bellatrix all look at him in confusion. Harry and Ron see him from the back of the room while still struggling. Draco straightens his clothes and puts on that same evil grin that he had on before. He smirks, “I’ll take her. I want to have my way with her upstairs.”
Bellatrix dismissed him with a wave of her hand and focused her attention on Hermione. Draco grabbed her shoulder roughly and started taking her upstairs. She could hear Harry shouting at him from below. Narcissa gave her a weird look as she passed her.
As soon as they were out of sight, Draco rushed with her to his room. He closed the door behind them and placed, silencing and locking spells behind them. Her body tensed and she lifted her wand. He turned around and was met by the sight of her wand pointed at his face.
“Are you alright?” he asks, his face turning into the same kind expression that she fell in love with. He placed his finger on her wand, sure that she wouldn’t hurt him, and pushed it aside. He took his own wand out of his belt loop and waved it over her face. She returned to her original appearance. Draco smiles, “There you are, my love.”
“Why did you bring me here?” she says, sternly ignoring the flutter in her chest at the name. Draco ignores her question and heads to his cupboard. He takes out a glass and turns around to ask her, “Would you like some water?”
“You have to let me go.” She says, and she can tell that he rolled his eyes. He’s still the same as he was almost a year ago. He takes out a box and he asks, “Food, maybe?”
“Why aren’t you hurting me?” She says, and he pauses his movements of taking out food and filling a glass of water. She can see his chest heave from his back. He turned around with a frown and he said in a small voice, “You thought I would hurt you.”
She feels guilty, noticing his expression and she fiddles with her fingers. Twisting the ring on her finger. She avoids his gaze and stutters, trying to explain, “I-I wasn’t sure, you recognised me.”
“Please!” he scoffed, and then he continued, “I would recognise you even if I was blind.” The words make her heart flutter. He continues to place the food on a plate and he places the plate and the glass of water on a tray. “Besides, you’re still wearing my ring.”
She notices what he’s talking about when he looks at her fidgeting hands. She stops the nervous movements and she brings her hands to her sides. He leaves the tray on the desk. He holds her hand and sits her on his bed, then he hands her the tray. She hands him back the tray, “I’m not hungry.”
He reluctantly puts the tray back on his desk. He sits back down beside her and the silence between them is uncomfortable, but she truly has no idea what to say. He turns to look at her with a cheeky smirk, “So when are you going to drop the act?”
“Drop…the act?” she repeats in confusion, looking at his unwavering cocky grin. Draco moves closer to her, and her body betrays her by not moving away from him. Draco says, “You know, that we’re meant to be and shit. It would be much easier if we get back together now-”
“Draco, we’re in the middle of a war!” she says, sternly looking at him in disbelief, but his smile widens and turns into a less arrogant one. He continues to stare at her and she raises an eyebrow, “what?”
“I’ve missed this- you scolding me…and you.” Draco confesses and it takes her everything in her to not forgive him right then and there. She doesn’t reply and looks in front of her. She stares at his bookshelf, trying to see if she could recognise any of them. She waits a second before saying, “Harry told me you couldn’t do it.”
“What?” Draco asks before he could register her words. She turns to look to face him, but she doesn’t meet his eyes. She clears her throat before saying, “That you couldn’t kill Dumbledore.”
His mouth forms an O in understanding and his expression turns sour. They don’t say anything for a while. Shefaces the door, and tries to listen to see if anything is going on outside but she hears nothing. Draco grabs her chin and turns her to face him. Draco hesitates, “I know you don’t want to hear this, but I- I still love you.”
He meets her eyes for what feels like the first time in forever. She sees the hope in his eyes, and it cracks her heart. She feels that love she feels for him bubbles from the bottom of her stomach, and she knows she’s going to regret what she does next. She says, “Don’t think too much of this.”
She kisses him. He reciprocates it in a second, hands flying to her face and pulling her closer to him. She grasps his torso tightly and kisses him harder. He falls to his back and she climbs on top of him. He bites her bottom lip, and pulls it a bit, urging her to open her mouth.
POP!
They part at the sound and she sees Dobby standing there with a surprised expression. Dobby has Harry’s wand in his hand, and he stutters before saying firmly, “Sorry to interrupt, Miss Potter, but Dobby has come to rescue Miss Potter.”
Dobby doesn’t give her a second to think before he reaches to grab her hand and apparates.

hii!! could your write something where legolas (if you write for him of course, I couldn't find any character list so if you don't feel free to ignore this) defends reader's honour after another elf insults them? thank you🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️
Hello :D Yes I do write for him, sorry for not providing a masterlist, I will be working on it this week. I hope you enjoy reading this work as much as I enjoyed writing it! Lastly, sorry if the characterization is not perfect, this is my first time writing for Legolas :,) (There might be SOME typos here and there, uni fried my brain for seven hours <3)

“I don’t know why we still have them among the guards–” The first elf spoke, voice a little louder as he assumed the two were alone in the woods. It was late at night and it was now their turn to guard this part of the woods.
“Shh!” The other interfered, “I think they have a shift tonight as well, they might be close.” He said in great contempt. “And they might have the prince with them as well.”
“They got real close, don’t you think?” The first guard seemed not to care about his friend’s warning and kept on complaining, “I mean, I wonder how they got in here in the first place?” Then he chuckled at his own words, not that he found it funny but rather infuriating. It had been a couple of months since a new elf had joined the guards and most of the other elves felt indifferent about them, even towards the fact they and Legolas got along exceptionally well.
As expected, however, there were also quite a few elves that were not too happy with the new addition to the group. They thought the new guard had joined them using their friendship with the prince, which was not true at all; sure, they knew who the prince was beforehand (as did everyone else) but they hadn’t spoken a word until meeting each other when they had to work together. After a few nights of taking shifts together, they had grown close. The two of them started eating most meals together, spending nights in the library together… But of course, none of this had started until they were already a part of the team, which some people forgot to mention.
The elf knew that some people spoke about them, but they seemed not to care. If they actually believed in their claims that the new guard had joined them through their friendship -or a little differently, in some scandalous rumors- then they could say so right in their face. Those who spoke ill of them somehow forgot that they were also good at using their bow, which surprisingly(!) played a major role in them becoming a part of the guards. So if anyone dared to say something to their face, they knew just the way to respond to them and so far there had been no one that took that offer.
The first guard looked at his friend again, who looked around anxiously, “Do you really worry about them being here? They’re probably on the other side of the damned woods! Don’t look so disturbed!”
“Ignoring the new guard and the prince, I don't think talking loudly at night, in the middle of the woods nonetheless, is a good idea.” He sighed and kept looking around, as a part of his job, this time. “If you only summon the new guard rather than a few orcs, I might feel grateful for seeing them for once.”
As he said so, they heard a rustling in the woods, causing them to draw their arrows out of their quivers. The speaking ceased immediately and they exchanged nothing but terrified looks between each other.
Once the owner of the rustling noise, they had to put their arrows down, no weapon of choice could’ve saved them anyway, “Oh, your majesty!” Spoke up the second guard, hoping he hadn’t heard their conversations from earlier and just decided to check up on them, assuming they were trolls or something else, “Weren’t you supposed to be guarding with y/n?”
“You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” He stepped a little closer to them, “You’ve been talking about y/n ever since they arrived, am I wrong?” The guards couldn’t dare to lie, thus nodding along with Legolas. “They might be allowing such nonsense, but I won’t. If I ever hear either of you speaking ill about them again, you’ll be begging to every god in existence for mercy.”
“B..But your majesty! We just thought they might’ve had an advantage over others while joining us!” The first guard spoke, his friend couldn’t help but punch him in the guts over that, “What! You said the same thing, just yesterday!”
“And what would that advantage be?” Legolas asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I think,” The second guard said, visibly shaking, “My friend is referring to your friendship with the new guard.”
The prince looked at them, sending shivers down the guards’ spines, a look so cold might’ve frozen them in their place, “Have either of you ever seen me being friends with them before they joined us?” The guards shook their heads, “Then what gives you the right to speak so poorly of them? Have they not fought on our side? Sacrificed themselves for us? Is it all in vain because you thought we were friends before?”
“It won’t happen again, we swear!” One of them said, and Legolas left their side before saying anything else that would eventually result in a fight.
Being approached by Legolas himself terrified them enough, so any word he spoke to them in that moment was enough fear for an eternal lifetime. Since, for the first time, they couldn’t find anything to say in return, causing the prince to leave them alone for the rest of their shift.
“I told you to shut up!” The second guard aggressively whispered to the other, “Feel lucky if we don’t get fired, idiot.”
“As if you weren’t complaining!”
For the rest of the night, the two guards kept on arguing as to who had complained the most, then guessing what would happen if they actually got fired, causing them to plan a whole future for themselves, just in case.
***
Legolas looked around cluelessly as he couldn’t find y/n at first. Then an acorn hit him on the head, causing him to look up, only to see his friend smiling at him from the top of a tree branch. He quickly climbed it and sat right next to them, their smile spreading to him.
“Where were you?” They spoke quietly.
Legolas looked away from them, pretending to monitor the ground, checking it for potential enemies, “I thought I heard something, went to check it out.” The other looked convinced, even if they were not, they didn’t push the question any further. This was something Legolas usually appreciated as having the option to ignore awkward situations helped the two greatly, everyone deserved their privacy after all.
“The forest is very quiet tonight, unusually quiet.” They turned to Legolas, “Nothing in the wind, not a single creature of the night moving…”
The prince looked back at them, “I noticed that too, adad** too, it’s stressing him out more than usual.”
The elf still seemed disturbed, “What is bothering you tonight?” The moon shone perfectly on their skin and long, neatly braided hair; Legolas just adored the sight next to him, yet that happiness quickly vanished from his mind as he saw their pained look. He put a hand on theirs reassuringly, waiting for them to talk.
“Have I not proven myself as a good fighter?” They spoke softly. It was rare to see y/n to complain about their problems: Legolas had to work with them for weeks and they only opened up about their issues with their mother after drinking several bottles of wine in y/n’s chambers. This was a great moment for the two to bond over, nothing quite like parental issues to help two people get closer.
So to see them like this, voice low and visibly upset, Legolas quickly regretted not putting arrows between their eyes. “You are a great fighter,” He said, “Is this about the rumors?”
The elf nodded, “I know it’s stupid and I try to ignore them as much as possible.” They briefly paused, “But I don’t want people to think I got here because of you. Not that anything is wrong with you but when people assume I got in with someone else’s help, I want to tear them apart.
“If I talk against them I’ll seem insecure and if I don’t they just keep going… You’d think that… after existing for a few thousand years they would be wise somehow—-but no, it’s more enjoyable to mock people.”
Legolas gently rubbed their hand with his thumb, which was much more physical contact that might be considered for their kind, but neither mentioned it. “I don’t think they’ll say anything from now on, at least we’ll hear them less.”
Embarrassment replaced sadness rather quickly and y/n let out a loud groan, “Don’t tell me you spoke to them yourself.” Seeing that his friend wasn’t truly mad at him, he nodded, “Give me a reason not to push you off this tree right now.”
“Because you actually appreciate me talking to them?” He squeezed y/n’s hand, “And I would just climb back up.”
Finally, Legolas saw them break into a smile, “You’re right, I actually appreciate that.” They placed a small kiss on Legolas’ cheek, “Thank you.”
For the rest of the night, there were no enemies, only the two of them on that same branch. Legolas’ hand remained on top of y/n’s, they never muttered a word about it, as if it was the second most normal thing to share between the two. Either sitting in comfortable silence together or talking about distant memories. All and all, it was a peaceful night that the two of them enjoyed very much.
By early morning, other guards showed up to replace them in their shift, so the two of them walked back to Greenwood side by side, not necessarily hurrying to go back.

The way that the Tristan Platoon grieves over Jade’s death says a lot about them as characters.
A majority of the characters show sadness over Jade’s death but Chion is different. Chion is sad over his best friend’s death but more than anything he’s angry.
This is the second stage of grief, anger.
Chion has expressed anger towards many people for Jade’s death. He wants someone to blame; someone to punish. He wants to regain control of the situation. He couldn’t save his friend but he can punish those he deems responsible for his death.
In doing this Chion is trying to avoid the third stage of grief, depression. That’s why it’s easy for him to lash out at others. That’s why he tries to rationalize Jade’s death. He tells himself he doesn’t have to be sad. His friend’s death wasn’t in vain; it meant something.
Tumblr media
Isolde has been deeply impacted by Jade’s death.
Jade is someone who she cared for dearly, someone who she’s known for practically her whole life. And now he’s been taking away from her so suddenly.
Not only that but she witnessed Jade’s death too. She was right behind him when she saw the fate that awaited her be given to Jade. Isolde knows that if he hadn’t jumped in front of her the one who died would’ve been her.
And she couldn’t do anything.
Tumblr media
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened to Isolde either.
First it was during the battle against Melagaland. When she got hurt Tristan came to her rescue but things took a turn once Arthur showed up. Tristan almost died and Isolde was the one who put him in that position.
Isolde is strong but she can be reckless too and unintentionally endangers the people she cares about. Her duty as a holy knight is to protect people, not endanger them. It’s at times like this where she feels like she’s failed as a holy knight.

Now she has to live with the fact that her friend died for her.
There’s a lot of blame that can be passed around when it comes to the subject of Jade’s death. But one thing is clear, Io is the one who ties everything together. From luring Tristan away from the group, to using her magic to hide everyone’s location, in turn unintentionally helping the knights of chaos.
But despite this the one who Tristan blames is himself.
This is because of how Tristan himself handled the situation with Io. There were plenty of different ways that he could’ve dealt with her and Tristan decided to isolate himself, exactly like Io wanted.
From Tristan’s perspective it was the decisions that he made that caused Jade’s death.
Tumblr media
Tristan is under a lot of pressure. He’s the prince of liones and a knight of prophecy. There are certain things that people expect from him. Tristan wants to meet these expectations; to exceed them. He wants people to put their trust in him, to believe in him.
Now Tristan has failed his friend. Jade is dead and the responsibility falls on him.
But no matter who they want to blame they all miss their friend dearly.
