Gothamites are just a different breed of people. They literally could not give a single f*ck about anything. There attitude is ‘eh, not impressed’ mixed with ‘been there don that’ and ‘try harder’.

It’s bad but no one knows how bad until they move there. I’m convinced everyone who lives in Crime Alley has had there parents/grandparents live there, while the less dangerous parts of Gotham see more new faces. They don’t stay long but they pop up.

Batman doesn’t let the Justice League to Gotham and I think that’s fair. They are all to bright and happy. Everyone is so angsty it’s amazing. He doesnt let them in for their own protection. Mostly since they all thinks he’s dramatic. But he knows that that relaxed manner is going to get them hurt.

The only vigilante that has zero haters (besides criminals) is Red Hood. Like, he control the most dangerous part of Gotham every night, walks kids/girls/teens/anyone-who-asks home, regularly buys food for the homeless, reads to kids at the library at night/near closing, stops robberies, sometimes teaches people self defense, and tries to be really quiet bc the walls are thin.

Either him or Signal bc he’s a daytime hero and everyone loves him. Nice, new, and will help out work the mundane stuff.

That being said, the rest are liked too but so have their haters. Despite this, there are websites and videos of them all doing cute and funny stuff or the gothamites doing nice stuff for them.

There is a video of someone giving Spoiler an umbrella, she returned it the next day. Someone managed to find everyone and give them their own hand sewn plushies, and their reaction.

Mostly starting with them on a rooftop of a building, a person calls out. “Yo! (Insert name)! Come here real quick!”

They go over and the person pulls out the plushie.

Batman: *stares for a moment* thank you. Did you make this? The workman ship is amazing.

Nightwing: awwwww! This is so nice, thank you!

Red hood: imma admit it, this is the greatest moment of my entire life. Now, you are in a very bad part of Gotham and need to get to bed. I’ll walk you.

Red Robin: i adore this. I will keep it with me till I die.

Robin: *brain cannot compute* Umm…Thank you very much. Honestly, no idea what to say right now

You wave everyone goodbye as you watch their retreating figures with a promise of meeting in three hours by The Going Merry.

You look beside you to the stoic man who has his arms crosses and smile.

"so,what should we do?"

Zoro looks around and suddenly he takes your hand and starts walking.

"where are we going?"

"to the bar."

You snort and walk through the doors of a small bar. When you take a sit behind the counter,you stare as Zoro orders two drinks for both of you.

"its not even evening and you're already drinking?"

"the lunch didnt set well with me."

"cause Sanji didnt let you drink."

Zoro only huffs and rolls his eyes before taking a sip of his drink,and upon a taste he downs the whole glass and motions for the bartender to refill it.

"you should really start drinking less." You tell him as you nurse your own glass and taking tiny sips.

Zoro ignores you in favor of drinking his alcohol.

You grin;used to his antics and not taking offense. Zoro is just so easy to tease,that you find yourself always annoying the hell out of him.

You start drinking and looking around the bar;its mainly empty except a small group of marines sitting in the far corner. They're young,and when you look at them,you see one of them is already starting back at you.

In fear of getting recognized and having to fight or run,you immediately turn back and stare down at your drink. And apparently,the guy staring at you takes that as an act of shyness and invitation.

"hey there," and when a smooth voice greets you from your other side,you raise your head and smile nervously at the young Marine man.

Act cool. Please dont notice we're pirates. Smile,and greet him politely.

"hello," you say as you fidget in your sit, "how,uh,how may i help you?"

"for starters,you can help by letting me buy you a drink?"

You raise your drink to show him your half empty glass, "I'm good actually,thanks."

The man grins and rests his hand on the counter, "playing hard to get,huh." Then his hand moves on top of yours;and the action has you swallowing around your dry throat, "then how about dinner? I'll take you to a nice restaurant."

"no really, I'm fine, actually I'm with my-"

"i insist -"

"hey,hotshot," the sound of Zoro's voice has you shivering, "she said she's not interested. So back the fuck off."

The Marine raises to his full height,and his stare hardens, "and who the hell are you?"

Zoro smiles and downs his drink. Before you can even protest,he moves so close to the other guy,and places a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm her boyfriend."

The guy doesnt have time to react before suddenly,in a high speed that gives you whiplash ,slams the head of the marine to the counter.

The sickening sound of bone cracking twists your stomach,but the look on Zoro's face is much more terrifying.

The bar suddenly grows quiet,and when you rush to Zoro's side to grab his hand, suddenly the Marines are running after you two.

Zoro is not a man to runaway from any fights,so he stops to fight ten times harder than the marines. He manages to knock out three more (maybe even killed them?!you didnt stop to check.) Before you grab his hand and particularly yank him toward the exit.

You two run as fast as you can,before ducking in some alley. You peek from the corner of the wall and when see no more Marines in sight,you let out a sigh of relief and turn around toward the very cool Zoro and frown at him.

"was that really necessary? You know we cant get recognized!!"

"do you think i really care about that?" He walks closer, forcing your back to hit the wall behind you "he was hitting on you. He's lucky I didn't kill him."

You only stare at the man in front of you, noting how tense his whole body seems.

You stomach flutters with so much love and adoration for him that has you weak in knees.

So before Zoro can talk more,you pull him down by his collar and press your lips to his.

The kiss becomes heated fairly quick;as Zoro presses you up against the wall even more and this hands wonder around your hips and your own carding through his hair. You dont know how much time has past,not until you have to pull away from lack of oxygen.

He presses his forehead against yours as you both try to regain your normal breathing.

"so," you say as you can breath normally once again, "are you still jealous?"

And from the scowl he wears, you're sure he still is.

So you laugh and pull him down again.

A little reassuring never hurts after all.

“Awww, Babe, look at this pic of Lils that Mac sent me,” he gushed, holding his phone up to his fiancée. She looked up from her laptop, “So cute. Ugh, I miss them so much. I mean look at those little baby rolls. I just want to cuddle the cutie.” He smiled and brought her head under the crook of his neck. “I know. We have to visit them soon. I’m so glad I have a niece. It means I can be the fun uncle forever and never have to be a dad,” he mindlessly thought out loud, going back to scrolling on his phone. This caused her to freeze; they never talked about having kids, but he was so good with them that she assumed he would want them. She should’ve asked him about it because she wanted them. She didn’t though. Kids were important to her and so was Drew. She wasn’t ready to cause a rift in their relationship because of something small.

Staring at the positive pregnancy test, she has to figure out a way to gauge how he would feel about it before actually telling him the truth. Once she knows how he feels, it will help her decide how she wants to feel about it seeing that if they are on the opposite page, then she would have to make a difficult decision. She shoves the positive tests into the box and hides them in her makeup drawer. He never goes looking there. She exits the bathroom, lets out a deep breath, and heads to the kitchen to start getting lunch ready. Drew is coming home from filming in Morocco later today. The music blasting through the speakers makes her unaware of the new presence in the house. He smiles at the dancing silhouette cutting potatoes. His hand drops over her eyes and she sets the knife down with a grin. Her arms wrap around her neck to bring him down towards her. This allows her to pepper his face with kisses. “Hey, you weren’t supposed to be back until tonight,” she notices, turning the music off. His hand rests on her hip, “I was, but I was offered an early flight and I couldn’t say no to seeing my girl early. I missed you and I love you.” She sinks into his hold. “I missed and love you too.”

The couple spend the next half an hour cooking together before settling themselves at the dining room table. Since they talked to each other throughout cooking, silence falls over them. A chime comes from his phone and he checks it to see a text from his sister. “Mac is planning on coming down with Lils and my mom soon. They can stay in the guest room, right?” Drew confirms, reading over the text again. She nods, “Yeah, I’ll get it ready over the weekend and buy one of those travelling crib things for Lils. It is going to be fun to have a baby around the house. The guest room would make a nice baby room in the future. It has nice big windows and the closet is the perfect size.” The chuckle that comes out of his mouth drops her stomach into a furnace.

“What’s so funny?” she questions. He shrugs, “Not the babysitting part. They could both use a break and I will never say no to spending time with my niece. It’s just the thought of having to turn the guest room into a baby room is funny.”

“Oh, why?”

“I don’t know. It’s a guest room. I mean where would our family stay when they come over?”

“Yeah, where would they stay?”

She should probably ask if he meant he can’t imagine the room as a baby room right now or if it was a forever thought; however, she is scared of the answer she is going to get so she shuts down the conversation. They sit in a new tension-filled silence that he pretends he can’t feel.

After lunch, Y/N retreats to the backyard to swing in the hammock. This tells him that she needs some space and he knows she is upset when she is still outside at eleven p.m. The friction of the patio door sliding against each other makes her turn to him. She doesn’t acknowledge his presence, waiting for him to say something. He places the plate of pasta he made for dinner onto the side table beside the hammock. “I found the pregnancy tests,” he states, bringing one of the patio chairs close to her. She freezes and sits up. Her legs swing over the fabric to face him, “How?” “Maddie helped me pick out clay pot Moroccan lipstick for you and I wanted to surprise you with it. I was going to hide it in your drawer…” he explains, eyes falling to his fingers and trailing off at the end. Her head moves up and down. Her thoughts are moving around her head a thousand miles a second. He is going to break up with her. He is going to make her have an abortion. Or worse. He is going to make her choose between the baby or him on the spot.

He grows nervous when she doesn’t say anything and his suspicions are confirmed. He understands why she is unsure about talking to him about this. The way he has spoken about having a baby in the past could’ve given her the wrong idea. He hesitantly reaches to place a hand on hers and does it when she doesn’t shy away. “I want you to know that the decision about what we do with the baby is up to you and I will be at your side during the whole process,” he assures. Her confusion causes tears to crop up in her eyes, “You don’t want the baby though. I know that, so if you are going to break up with me because I do, then just do it. But making me have to choose is kinda cruel.” His heart squeezes, hating that his words aren’t coming out as he means them to be. His head shakes like crazy and he sits beside her. He brings her head against his chest, “Babe, I don’t want to break up with you. I want to have this baby with you too.”

“You want the baby? Then how come you don’t think the guest room would be a good baby room?”

“Because my office would be a better one. The windows aren’t too big so it won’t wake the baby up in the morning and the closet there is even bigger, so when they get older they can have as many clothes as their heart desires.”

“Okay, you are right… What about when you said you want to be an uncle forever and never be a dad?”

“Honestly, I never really thought I would want to be a dad. I was content with being an uncle, but, Babe, when I found that pregnancy test, all I could think about was how happy I was to be bringing a child into the world with the most amazing woman in the world and I couldn’t wait to raise them with you.”

She leans back and rests a warm palm on his cheeks, trying to hold back her tears. “So you want to have this baby?” she verifies. He kisses the tears away, “I want this, Babe. I promise. We are going to do this. Together.”

he is definitely a gentle parent to your little boy who's just a shy little dude

armin knows what it feels like to be that shy and quiet kid so he's very patient and understanding

him and your son are practically carbon copies of eachother minus his curly hair (which he got from you) but you think its adorable

speaking of hair HE TOTALLY LEARNS TO BRAID/DO TWIST

he knew taking care of your son's hair was going to require extra effort because of his texture but he doesnt care and learns anyway (sob sob)

him and your son are attached at the hip and wherever one goes you typically find the other.

they spend many quiet moments together and obviously armin reads him multiple stories before bed.

i can totally see y'alls son being an artist/artistically gifted

you can find him and armin sprawled out on the floor with paper and various art supplies as armin nods along to the nonsense coming out of your son's mouth

much like eren he teaches his son the values of curiosity and freedom, even if his son is a little more reserved

i also fantasize about living by a beach with armin so ik he takes y'all to the beach at least 3 times a month.

every single time he goes he carries his son on his hip as the explore the beach in search of shells and other treasures to take home.

you wanted to watch ponyo because you wanted to see how they made the ramen. and also because it was a cute movie. niki wanted to watch spirited away. who knows why, he just wanted to.

truth is, he didnt care what movie you watched, as long as it was Studio Ghibli. he just wanted to see you all whiny and pouty. he thought it was cute. no, he thought you were cute when you were angry.

"fine! how about we do rock paper scissors and whoever wins, chooses?" "fine, but the loser doesn't whine.'' ''ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, SHOOT!"

your fist was in rock formation, his was in paper. "WHAT?!" he just stood there laughing as a pout came across your face.

"not fair, i wanted to see how they made the ramen so we could make it" good excuse, y/n. "fine, we can do another round." he said in fake annoyance.

he watched in awe, and when i saw 'in awe' i mean in awe, as you pulled up the movie and ran to get snacks.

he sat down and grabbed a blanket big enough for the both of you. you came back with some chips and a soft drink.

you sat down next to him, opening the bag of chips. niki put his arm around your shoulder, pulled your head near his face, and pecked you scalp. he opened the can of your shared drink and took a sip.

"she's just salty that her husband isn't home all the time" niki smiles and responds to your whines can complaints. "see, baby? be happy that im not salty about you doing whatever." "we're always together!" and it's true. you guys are always together. "i dont care." "whatever. i still think Lisa just wants Koichi to be with her 24/7"

the movie went on and it came to the ramen part. (istg, if yall dont know what im talking about)

"baby!!!! can we make the ramen once the movie's done?? please??" "do we have everything?" "i dont know. i dont think we have green onion" "once the movie's over, we can walk to the store and buy it, if you want" "yesyyesyesyesyes!!!"

the movie ended and you both got up to leave. you walked in, greeted the cashier and headed to get onion. "baby, do we have ham?" "um, i dont know. i'll ask the guys." "no, its okay, we'll just buy some"

you finished shopping and walked home. it wasnt that far of a walk but your legs hurt.

after getting home and making the ramen, you put on spirited away. niki smiled at your action and pressed a kiss to your forehead. you placed the bowls on the coffee table in the living room almost right away and sat next to niki on the floor. he looked at you and hugged you.

the little moments like these made you realize that, niki is your happiness. the coffe table was far away enough for you to climb into his lap, at least until the food was ready.

"are you tired baby?" niki chuckled at you dozing off on his shoulder. "a little, but im really hungry"

"well, the foods ready so we can eat and then we can go to sleep." you got.off of him slowly and ate your food. after, you and niki went to ash up and go to sleep. after all that, you layed down with your back facing niki, only to be pulled into his embrace with his annoyingly strong arms.

he nuzzled his nose into ypur hair and slowly fell asleep.

- before esteban fixed up a car for sean, u guys would always take the public bus around seattle

- his favorite dates r the ones where u guys go into random small stores and thrift shops

- both of u guys cackle REALLY LOUD at tacky shirts with stupid sayings and get looks from people 😭

- ur fav thing is to go “i found something ud like” and watch sean look up from the racks in excitement to see an overly patriotic shirt that says “don’t touch my truck”

- his face drops into a frown and he picks out something 10x uglier and say it looks like something ud wear

- sean secretly buys what u say is cute but u cant afford bc thrifting is so expensive for no reason these days

- “guess what i got” and he slithers it out of his bag with an evil smile 😭 suddenly him dissing u for an hour straight doesnt even matter anymore

- once esteban texts sean for dinner u guys hop on the bus back home. he never asks sean to come home for dinner alone though! common courtesy to invite the gf

- sharing wired earbuds on the bus ride home always. sean plays little love songs bc he only listens to music that he relates to in that specific moment 😭 corny but cute. he def has songs in his head that he thinks are ur guys’ songs and plays them every chance he gets

- when u first started eating with the diaz family it was so painfully awkward

- though he kind of likes it now, he did not want his girlfriend to get to know esteban or daniel too well LMAO he didnt want to be embarrassed by anything they possibly could say

- still, even when he tried so hard to avoid it, daniel and esteban still found their ways

- estebans the kind of dad to bring up embarrassing stories about sean when he was a kid bc he KNOWS how much his son would hate it

- just like with lyla, daniel seemed to have a crush on u as well. the only difference is that sean tries to shut it down REALLY quick.

- daniel’s “eww…” is like music to his ears

- u always playfully punch him when he does this in front of u and ask why he makes u look bad in front of him

- sean never admits its bc hes jealous of a little kid 😭 he just changes the subject and kisses u bc he thinks hes sneaky

- over the summer he randomly got a buzz and didnt say anything to anybody

- he just opened his front door standing there bald as if nothing happened and ur eyes wld just kind of widen

- u also get the privilege of cutting/buzzing his hair 😋

- surprisingly it turns out good!

- i feel like ud be super nit-picky on ur work, thinking its total ass. he wld just say its perfect over and over again

- What happened? Y/n got ambushed by Shang Tsung while tracking him. Before Y/n could take him into custody, they were hit with a spell. NOW THEY’RE A BAABYYYYY.

Liu Kang and Geras

First of all, they were worried for Y/n to be cursed like this. Liu Kang is afraid that it could be permanent. The amount of attempts to remove the curse failed.

Guess they got a baby Y/n to take care of.

Liu Kang finds baby Y/n very cute and couldn’t bear leaving them with just nursing monks.

Liu Kang would have Y/n in his arms during training. Probably buys a baby carrier for walking around the academy

Geras takes on night duties. Tending to the hourglass while giving Y/n a bottle.

Once Y/n finished their bottle, they’re put right back into the crib. Geras made the crib out of sand and made sure they sleep comfortably.

The only downside they experienced is Geras not wanting to let Liu Kang take Y/n out for the day.

Geras: Y/n is safe with me.

Liu Kang: I know. Although I prefer to take them outside. It’s best for the baby.

Geras: very well. I created a schedule for Y/n needs. Their feeding time, when they need to be change and tummy times.

Liu Kang: I’ve already created a schedule for Y/n. They don’t need a changed schedule.

Geras: ……mine is more proficient.

Raiden and Kung Lao

Kung Lao didn’t want to hold Y/n. Saying stuff like ‘babies are gross’ or ‘they’re too noisy’. Raiden on the other hand, loves to hold babies. Keeping Baby Y/n in his arms and attach to the hip

Raiden and Kung Lao take turns watching Y/n if one of them has to do training. Kung Lao uses Y/n to pick up girls in town by creating a single father sob story.

Definitely taking baby Y/n to Madame Bo’s tea house. Hoping that Madame Bo has some compassion to ‘two newly fathers’. Yeah it didn’t work but she hogs Y/n all the time.

Raiden: *chuckles* Yeah- wait no!

Tummy time are the best since it gives Raiden and Kung Lao a break to watch Y/n, even though it is a one person watch.

Kung Lao has a habit of over feeding Y/n which causes Y/n to cry to be burped or have their diaper change. And guess who has to change them- It’s Raiden.

Johnny and Kenshi

Now Johnny thinks that if he shows Y/n’s favorite things to do, their favorite songs or foods, Y/n would turn to normal. Kenshi just watches from the sidelines and judges Johnny.

Kenshi is the one that would make sure Y/n is safe from Johnny’s shenanigans. Often talking to the baby like Y/n is a grown person about stuff, only to be replied by babbling and coos.

Kenshi reminds Johnny that Y/n is a baby and not a grown adult. Johnny thinks otherwise but drops it momentarily. He just misses Y/n whole.

It may sound like they make a good duo. No. Nononono….no. With the two bashing heads, they completely forgot Y/n is there until it’s too late.

Kenshi: *Sets Y/n in a car seat in the back of Johnny’s Lamborghini* I can’t believe you told strangers that Y/n is ‘OUR’ baby!

a new beginning . . .

dazai osamu being a single father is something that no one expected of him. even he couldn't believe it. he would never have guessed that the woman he met when he defected from the port mafia bore you.

unfortunately, your mother was targeted and left with no choice but to contact dazai again to tell him about you, desperate to give her baby a good life even if it meant giving up her own to the hands of her killer.

dazai was barely nineteen as he was laying low after defecting from the mafia, but as soon as he heard the news, he went looking for you. curious of having a child.

dazai was hesitant as he stared down the little bundle of sunshine before him.

there was no doubt that you were his child, and DNA testing confirmed it.

but him, a father? how is this possible? dazai wasn't ready. he was a bad person. dazai genuinely believes he doesn't deserve you, but when you extended your tiny hand towards him, making adorable baby sounds, all of his thoughts were silenced.

a single tear rolled down his cheek as he remembered odasaku's last words as he extended his finger towards you and you wrapped it in your tiny hands with the sound of your coos and happy noises.

save the weak and protect the orphans.

reaching for you and holding you for the first time triggered emotions in his chest, leaving him with a fuzzy and warm feeling.

it felt strange to dazai because it was a sensation he had never experienced before, but it was comforting and something he could grow accustomed to.

the struggle of a single father . . .

dazai considers it a challenge. not only was he laying low from the port mafia, but he also has a baby girl to look after.

dazai always finds ways to buy your necessities and eventually get you both a place to live because you guys moved around a lot when he first met you.

dazai keeps a close eye on you, making sure you're safe. given his suicidal tendencies, it was unusual for him to babyproof his residence, but that all changed when he met you. he can't get you harmed :(

now, it's not too bad caring for you, except that you frequently wake up crying in the middle of the night because dazai is drinking and having another one of his tendencies instead of sleeping with you.

dazai did, however, gradually grow out of that habit just for you. (*´︶`*).

papa dazai thinks it's really cute how you loved to sleep all snuggled up against his chest and that you couldn't sleep unless he was with you. you were such a cute and clingy baby. how could he ever resist you?

and you know how dazai can control his heartbeat? dazai manipulates his own heart into a calm and soothing beat that helps you sleep while you snuggle up against his chest as he holds you closely.

on the other hand, dazai almost gets a heart attack everytime he finds you in the most unexpected places.

he leaves you on the bed one minute, and the next thing he knows, you're in the kitchen, on top of the fridge, or suddenly inside the cabinet. there was even a time when dazai found you on top of a tree.🧍

dazai genuinely believes he will die from a heart attack one day, and he's also quick to assume it's because of your ability, and boy, was he right, just not in the way he expected.

dazai thought for sure your ability had to do something with teleportation, but he learned that was just one of your abilities when he came back after preparing your baby bottle to find you floating and giggling in mid-air surrounded by a red glow.

i'm sorry, but dazai's reaction was literally, "OH NO, YOU CAN’T BE LIKE CHUUYA 💀."

dazai scrambles to grab you from mid-air, using his no longer human ability to nullify whatever your ability was, but he was taken aback when you continued to glow with red psionics even while he held you.

dazai eventually grew accustomed to caring for a child and landed a job at the armed detective agency, where he could earn enough money for you while also fulfilling odasaku's wish for him.

dazai is surprisingly responsible in raising you to be a well-mannered toddler who is very much a daddy's girl, which surprises kunikida, who had become your very protective caring uncle when dazai first brought you to the agency.

however, there are definitely times when kunikida questions and scolds dazai for teaching you silly things like pranks and such, or, more importantly, dazai teaching you how to punch someone's eyes out ...

the fears of a single father . . .

dazai used to be completely fearless. he didn't even fear death. instead, dazai welcomed it instead with open arms but when he you came to his life, that was when he developed many fears.

starting with you getting hurt. dazai is a very protective papa. he can't stand it when he sees you in pain, especially when he sees tears in your eyes.

as soon as dazai learns that you have been harmed or taken hostage by bad people, he returns to his old mafia black blood ways. dazai's coming for them, and he won't hesitate to kill just to make sure you're safe in his arms again.

another fear that dazai has is you liking his old mafia partner, nakahara chuuya.

dazai thought it was funny at first when you met chuuya and called him your mama because you actually believed he was your mama. *cue chuuya blushing madly and screaming with rolls of r's while he carries you in his arms 💀*

however, dazai was quickly humbled when you began clinging to chuuya and refusing to return to him because you had grown real fond of the chibi he despises.

chuuya is smug about being your favorite and he uses that to tease dazai. even though it irritates dazai, he trusts chuuya enough to care for you because he knows chuuya has a soft spot for children and treats you kindly and sweetly.

chuuya spoils you, you know? maybe a little more than dazai expected, because chuuya frequently buys you lots of dollhouses, stuffies, and expensive luxury branded baby clothes, but he eventually uses that to his advantage by telling you to ask chuuya for specific things that he would buy for you.

"oi, mackerel! i know you're the one making [name] ask me to buy her wagyu steak. just so you know, i know damn well that your kid likes omurice, not steak!"

putting aside all the silly fears he have, what dazai truly fears the most is you being taken away from him, and that fear worsens when he discovers your prophecy as the scarlet witch, the very reason why you possessed such a special ability called chaos magic that he cannot nullify at all.

sure, it's difficult for you not to use your wiggly-woos because you don't have complete control over them yet, but you can't blame your papa.

dazai is afraid that you will attract unwanted attention, particularly from bad people who would want to exploit your abilities, and he simply wishes to keep you, his baby, safe.

scenario !

dazai was nineteen years old when he returned home after buying you your baby necessities from a konbini near where you and him were currently staying.

he found you, his precious bundle of joy, sitting on the floor, playing with the toy blocks he got you in the small living room of the apartment as soon as he closed and locked the door and slipped off his shoes.

"a-ah! ah!" you exclaimed, ignoring your toys and tapping the floor with your tiny hands while starinf happily at dazai.

"why, hello there, my little darling!" dazai greeted you, placing the plastic bag of items he had purchased on the ground and smiling down at you, "did you miss me already? sorry had to leave you, [name]-chan! papa had to buy milk."

dazai extended his arms towards you to pick you up when you suddenly placed both of your hands on the floor. as you began to push yourself up to stand on two feet, stumbling even, his eyes widened in surprise, realizing what you were doing.

"[name]-chan?" dazai muttered, blinking and unable to say anything more as you stood up on your own, something he had never seen you do before.

"ah.. ahh!" you made cute baby noises as you slowly approached him, wobbling and nearly stumbling to your side, prompting dazai to prepare himself to catch you if you fell.

dazai's lips eventually formed a smile, a genuine and pure smile. his eyes lighting up at sight of you making your way towards him, "that's it, [name]-chan! you can do it, my little one!"

you were making your first steps.

"just a bit more, [name]-chan! come to papa!" dazai happily cheered you on, opening his arms out wide for you as he sat down on his knees.

with that, you approached him, squealing as you heard him call your name and saw him open his arms for you. you briskly walked straight into his embrace, and as soon as you did, dazai enveloped you in his arms.

"you did it, [name]-chan!" exclaimed dazai as he tightened his hug, holding you ever so close to his chest, kissing your forehead and nose, looking at you proudly, "that's my baby!"

you gave him a gummy smile, squealing and cooing as your tiny hands wrapped around him, and that's when dazai noticed a single tear rolling down his own cheek.

"dada!" was what you said to him.

dazai's lips trembled as he saw and felt his vision blur from the fresh and hot tears he couldn't stop as he stared down at you, watching you cling and happily smile at him.

"dada! dada!" you repeated again, cooing.

dazai quickly wiped his tears away and picked you up, tightly embracing you as he swayed you side to side ever so slightly in his grasp.

"that's right! i'm your dada, [name]-chan!" said dazai, but he cried even more tear. he was crying again, but was incredibly happy. his heart was racing with a warm and fuzzy sensation.

hearing you call him your dad was something was going to cherish forever. dazai kissed your face after that, widening his smile before pressing his forehead against yours as you giggled and cupped his face in your tiny hands.

dazai said lovingly as he nuzzled his nose against yours, "i love you, [name]-chan, and dada's proud of you, always.

your papa had a difficult childhood, and most importantly, he had an empty black void in his heart, but it was all clear to him now. death and a life of violence was not the answer he had been looking for in his entire life.

dazai now found a reason to live, and it was you.
